#a.I. dungeon
Text
So I was playing around on A.I. Dungeon and I ended up with a story where I was a peasant girl named Hailee Steinfeld who led a revolt against the royal family. Helping me was my good friend, Jeremy Renner. This was the end result:
(Bold = my entries, regular text = A.I.)
You attack the princess, and slice her neck open. The princess starts to scream, and her skin and flesh begins to peel away.
The princess's body begins to turn to dust, and your blood covers her.
> You say, "Sorry princess...but democracy is cooler anyways"
You say, "Sorry princess...but democracy is cooler anyways"
You look at Jeremy Renner, and laugh. Jeremy laughs as well, and you begin to laugh.
You wonder why this is such a funny joke, and Jeremy tells you it's because of democracy.
> You attack the king and queen.
You attack the king and queen, and slice their necks open. The queen's body is consumed in flames, and the king melts away to dust.
You say, "Well, democracy works, huh?"
You begin to laugh.
> You declare that the royal family has been destroyed and that the monarchy is no more.
You declare that the royal family has been destroyed and that the monarchy is no more.
You begin laughing again, and the villagers laugh with you.
You wonder why this is so funny, and Jeremy tells you it's because democracy.
You chuckle, and Jeremy asks you if you've saved the village.
> You say to Jeremy, "We saved the village, you and I. Now let's make another season of Hawkeye"
You say to Jeremy, "We saved the village, you and I. Now let's make another season of Hawkeye"
Jeremy smiles and nods.
You continue laughing, and Jeremy joins in.

Did you know Newgrounds recently added the option to report A.I. Art?
https://twitter.com/dungeonation/status/1764024943782633910
https://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic/1532878
I've heard that Newsgrounds don't allow AI which is good but I didn't know they have the option for that so that makes me happy. :)

📚 STUFF I READ 📚
🥰cast out fear (s0mmerspr0ssen) - 41K, star trek AOS canon-divergent - kirk almost dies saving Vulcan & is recovering there so there's some juicy hurt/comfort, slowly getting to know one another + BAMF amanda grayson (which is my fave)
😍The Mimicking of Known Successes (Mossa & Pleiti #1) (Malka Ann Older, author; Lindsey Dorcus, narrator) - novella, 'cozy Holmesian murder mystery and sapphic romance' set in space - really dug this, gave me similar vibes to Becky Chambers' stuff, where it's more about the worldbuilding and the character relationships than the plot (tho that is quite entertaining). looking forward to more
🥰It's The Snow (postmodernmulticoloredcloak) - 44K, stucky modern AU - snowed in, only one bed, enemies-to-lovers, light D/s dynamic tropetastic goodness!
💖💖 +279K of shorter fic so shout out to these I really loved 💖💖
Variations on George Penn (beautifulduckweed) - Band Sinister (KJ Charles): Ned Caulfield/George Penn, 3K - excellently done 'Wikipedia' article + some other magazine articles discussing George Penn's life, work & impact - I just love this kind of fanwork
Banana Daiquiris (Avelera) - The Sandman: Dreamling, 4K - cute & absolutely hilarious little fic about Dream 'on vacation' in Tahiti and deciding he wants Hob there too
boots & budweiser’s miraculous misadventures (helix_stomper) - Stranger Things: steddie, 34K - "Steve and Eddie meet at a gloryhole Pre-S4. It goes pretty much exactly how you’d expect." - 2 fics so far in this ongoing series - truly excellent smut but also some really great character stuff! While I can't wait to see how the story develops, what's already been given is 🥵🥰!

My Little Video Game Review
Okay so this is a review of all the games i've played in 2022 cause i have thoughts and opinions. This isn't in any particular order either.
Going Under
Tumblr media
Going Under was a fun little indie rouge like where you start work at a social media company and have to delve into the companies dungeons to improve within the company
its very funny and silly and doesn't take itself too seriously while also being very obvious with its anti capitalist themes
I had a really good time playing it 7/10
Boyfriend Dungeon
Tumblr media
Boyfriend Dungeon is a dungeon crawler plus dating sim where you're weapons are your love intrests
This was a very fun game along with all the pretty people you're romancing and with the different weapons you can have, the writing is really good and theres a good selection of datable characters
the story is a tad short but i with all the different romance paths you can go down each character has their own story. 7/10
Psychonauts 2
Tumblr media
Psychonaughts 2 Like the the previous game, the player controls Raz, an acrobat that is training to become a Psychonaut, a member of a task force that uses their psychic abilities to stop those that perform nefarious deeds with their own psychic forces
This game has a very classic platformer vibe and doesn't dissapoint with how fun it is. The story is very fun and emotional and has some really good writing and theming when it comes to mental health
also theres gays in it so cant complain there. 9/10
Back 4 Blood
Tumblr media
Back 4 Blood is a spiritual succsessor to Left 4 Dead where you play as 4 characters killing hordes of aliens
Theres nothing really to write home about this game, i didn't enjoy it at all. I don't have much to say so 4/10
Doom Eternal
Tumblr media
Doom Eternal follows our beloved Doom Man/Guy/Slay Er in defeating the forces of hell again.
The gameplay has been improved from 2016 and gives you a bigger arsenal to really go to town on these demons as well as the music being absolutely incredible 9/10
What Remains of Edith Finch
Tumblr media
This game follows a woman who returns to her family home to uncover buried secrets that her mother hid from her.
Its a wonderfully sad story about a quirky family and their big silly house that you must uncover by traveling through the house. 9/10
Tacoma
Tumblr media
This game follows a Woman visiting an abandoned space station in order to aquire the ships A.I
Throughout the station are augmented reality holo videos of the crew that you must uncover if you are able to peice together what happend. If you've played gone home its by the same developers.
Its a very relaxing game with a satisfying story 8/10
FAR: Lone Sails & FAR Changing Tides
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These games are 2D sidescrollers that have you play as a child in some post apocalyptic world controlling a huge vehicle in order to traverse the world.
Its a very chilling and interesting game about taking care of the machine while it takes you wherever you're going 7/10
Resident Evil Village
Tumblr media
I did finally get to this game this year and it didn't dissapoint. In this you play as Ethan who has settled down with his wife mia and child in somewhere vaugly eastern europe cause the devs don't know any countries in that area. Blah Blah baby gets kidnapped by quirky evil villains and you have to save her from Lady "All i wanna do is see you turn into a giant woman" Dimitresc
An extremely fun game if you like seeing your hands be mutilated 8/10
Immortals Fenyx Rising
Tumblr media
In this game you play as "Insert Guy/Girl here" where you are tasked with saving the Greek gods from the god Typhon and their own egos.
It's basically Ubisofts answert to Breath of the Wild but you get wings and its also really fun. If you're looking to scratch that Zelda itch or your just a greek mythology gay then this is the game for you.
MoonLighter
Tumblr media
Have you been struck by the autistic need to want to Sell Things in a Shop but dont want to leave the comfort of your bed? Well look no further.
In this game you play as some guy who fights through a dungeon killing monster to sell their precious airlooms to people. It's genuinly a fun game if you like that sort of stuff 7/10
Soma
Tumblr media
Soma is a game where you're suddenly transported to an underwater facility with killer robots. And when i say you i mean some random canadian guy.
Seriously though this game really delves deep (aha get it) into the ideas of transhumanism and what does it mean for a person to be a person.
Its also about taking forever to actually get to the place you want to go 8/10
Fall Guys
Tumblr media
Those guys sure do fall 4/10
Metal Hellsinger
Tumblr media
Do you want to play a game about a demon lady and her cowboy skull bf? then you should give this game a go
as a lover of Doom and Rhythm games this was a fun ride and you too can play it if you love games that need extreemly specific button presses just to get anywhere. 6/10
Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy
Tumblr media
The guaridans of the galaxy hit the video game sphere with a genuinly great game, the gameplay is a real time strategy type thing in the vain of the FF7 remake but not as good cause you only play as Starlord.
The dialoge and writing are honestly really good but if you can handle the Chrisp Rat knockoff and his whining then you'll love it 7/10
Hardspace Shipbreaker
Tumblr media
In the hyper capitalist future you must pay off your debt of existance by throwing ship parts into a furnace.
This is a great game if you just want to waste some time or if you just like to take things apart and throw them in a fire 8/10
Scorn
Tumblr media
Scorn is a game about... something something penis.
Is this game an intersting introspection about the how treating people as if they were insignificant and using their bodies as a power source can lead to becoming detatched and eventually lead to you're own downfall? Yes.
Is it fun to play? No 4/10
Overwatch 2
Tumblr media
Its like Overwatch 1 but with a Battle Pass and some key chains
The Callisto Protocol
Tumblr media
As a Dead Space lover i really wanted to like this but it just felt like a mediocre version of it. The gameplay, the story and the characters all just seem like its missing something i cant quite put my finger on.
I guess the main guy is hot so 5/10
Bayonetta 3
Tumblr media
Oh Bayonetta its such a shame the multiverse parasites got you. The thing about this game is that its an extreemly fun game, everything about the gameplay is 10/10 but the story and characters just fall flat
its a no from me dearest cereza 7/10

i think the thing about A.I. illustrators that bugs me the most is that their capacity for creativity is way overblown. its definitely true that a large amount of possible prompts are, in fact, illustratable, but it lacks intention beyond its basic programming. like AI dungeon, it seems to work especially well when the person crafting the inputs does so in a way that is more conversational than dictatorial. historically and contemporaneously, misconceptions about the ‘intelligence’ aspect of artificial intelligence has often been used to obfuscate that fundamentally we are nowhere near a truly sentient AI, at least one that is publically available, and people forget that, beneath all the bells and whistles, much of it relies on a lot of human labor in order to even look a quarter as advanced as it does. AIs are trained on available data given by a human programmer, who has already programmed the model to perform a given task. what that data is, and how that data is contextualized are entirely the providence of the programmer(s) involved in the training of the model. additionally, the model tends to spit back out what those on the outside end feed it in a way that conforms to that specific input, rather than generating something from whole cloth. i do worry that corporate executives, both tech literate and not, will try to use AI image and text generation algorithms to put people out of their jobs, but i dont think either of those two things will ever supplant human creators in the creative fields. as weird as it is to say, though it can happen by accident, it is very rare for an AI to create something wholly original, and while thats true of nearly everything in the universe, how it does so lacks intention in the creative process, instead boiling it down to a mechanical series of steps to conform the closest to a prompt, rather than making a conscious decision informed by a personality

Does this b!tch ever have an original idea? This already been done before:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The blatant ripoff...she even ripped off James Brown for her pathetic attempt at a diss:
Tumblr media
She stole the "dungeon dragon" line from Busta Rhymes:
Tumblr media
I like songs on Sucka Free and Barbie World as pop,
but everything else she's done is subpar and it's the features that save her. She's not a good lyricist, people are just enamored with the way she sounds. None of her albums are cohesive and her success is not from rap. Ppl gassing her up to believe she's some legend is weird. Her songs won't be remembered 10 years from now by the majority of America, except her cult members who will keep critically acclaiming her in their A.I. universe. And I'm not dry hating. I will be on the lookout in case some talent does show up.
Queen of Ripoffs I can understand. Queen of Rape I can understand. Queen of Rap tho? Her biggest hits have been bubblegum pop and she got her foot in the door by dressing like Bozo the clown. Her success has come from POP songs.

Asgard's Wrath 2 Review - Worthy Of The Gods - Game Informer
New Post has been published on https://thedigitalinsider.com/asgards-wrath-2-review-worthy-of-the-gods-game-informer/
Asgard's Wrath 2 Review - Worthy Of The Gods - Game Informer
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Asgard’s Wrath 2 stands out in a sea of virtual reality titles available on the market today. As the showcase piece for the Meta Quest 3, this sequel offers an experience rarely seen in the category, weaving together an exciting blend of action, intricate puzzle design, and semi-open-world environments. With the clever use of VR mechanics, you discover new surprises even after playing for dozens of hours. Asgard’s Wrath 2 is a VR game that’s difficult to put down, even as the Quest 3’s battery life often requires you to. However, while it does start out strong, it hits a few stumbling blocks along the way.
Asgard’s Wrath 2 immediately follows the events of the first game. The god of mischief, Loki, has managed to escape, and it’s up to you to track him down. The big difference now is that your journey takes you to the vast sand seas of Egypt, where you meet other deities willing to help you in your search.
There’s an immense world just waiting to be explored, which gave me a sense of awe as I looked at my surroundings and the sheer scope of what Sanzaru Games crafted. Moreover, the game’s visual flair, powered solely by a standalone headset like the Quest 3, remained impressive from a technical standpoint as I ventured through the picturesque landscape in this lengthy action RPG.
[embedded content]
As you play through Asgard’s Wrath 2, you control distinct heroes with their respective narrative arcs. For example, you encounter the warrior Abraxas as he’s robbing a tomb. Later on, you control the river nymph Cyrene in her own chapter. You also meet various animal companions, such as a boar that can wade through lava and a panther that can cause illusory blocks to solidify. These concepts, in terms of traversal and puzzle-solving, make each companion’s functions quite unique, though the A.I. noticeably fumbles during battles. In some cases, they won’t even attack an enemy right next to them until you manually target that foe.
Combat mechanics push the boundaries of what VR gameplay can be, thanks to each hero’s assortment of weapons. This arsenal creates genuinely unique and refreshing playstyles. For instance, I’d get into the thick of the fray as Abraxas, slashing with a whip-sword in my right hand while tossing axes with my left. Meanwhile, the ranger Alvilda required me to perform rapid flicking motions to shoot different magic arrows. Surprisingly enough, the most mechanically complex character was an undead scribe named Djehuty; I had to place both hands in front of my headset and make a pulling motion to decapitate the character; then, I could use the head to possess foes.
Regrettably, I had a few issues with the controls, especially when grabbing weapons, since the controller has difficulty detecting the action unless I sit upright. Likewise, throwing weapons or firing projectiles, even with aim assist options enabled, became frustrating and tiring.
Still, the most fascinating feature of Asgard’s Wrath 2 is its puzzles, which show what can truly be achieved by VR games in terms of immersion, creativity, and engagement. Since you’re playing as a god, you can use your divine form to take control of larger structures, often switching to your hero character, who then traverses the area with the help of animal companions. The highest praise I can give Asgard’s Wrath 2 is that, at times, it feels like the Zelda VR game enthusiasts have been waiting for. Major puzzles are presented as grand set pieces – moments that filled me with wonder upon reaching these sections and a sense of satisfaction upon coming up with a solution.
Sadly, the sheer abundance of puzzles leads to poor pacing during specific segments, such as escaping a dungeon’s traps, only to realize that another brain teaser awaited instead of a climactic boss battle. The game’s last few chapters also feel rushed compared to the arcs of the first two heroes.
Asgard’s Wrath 2 still boasts an epic campaign that can take upwards of 70 hours to complete, chockful of numerous locales, lairs, and secrets to discover. Likewise, an infinitely replayable roguelike mode is waiting for you well after you’re done with the campaign and the overworld areas. In spite of a few qualms, Asgard’s Wrath 2 remains an offering worthy of the gods.

A prologue and some context.
Because sometimes I need to remind myself of who I am. :) See, yes, I'm an old fart. Technically born at the very start of Gen X. And it's relevant. Here's why: I'm too young to claim to be from the Television Era, yet I'm too old to fully be from the Internet Era. I wasn't around for the dawn of either one of those--and yes, I'm definitely too old to be from the dawn of the Smartphone Era.
No, where I'm from, is the dawn of Video Games. Meaning I was a child roughly when Pong was becoming widespread, and when the early arcade games were primitive 8-bit even for early 8-bit. The vector-wireframe games from the time were things like Starhawk and Tail Gunner. Prior to Asteroids, somewhat.
I bring this up not to flex. I'm saying that this is something that's informed by my childhood memories--and my few good ones at that. Some of my first real joyful memories in my life came from the few moments I had where I played a video game, usually an arcade quarter-muncher, and did NOT suck at it. =)) Even if one of my favorite genres--the top-down maze shooter--was one of the ones I never really mastered. The things were (back then) a pain in the butt to me because arcades were made to seduce people who couldn't stay focused to save their lives, and so I was busy getting distracted by 3 or 4 other games at once, and unable to keep up with the robots.
And yes, I'm including the fantasy types from Gauntlet in with the robots since it's a video game. An adventure game running on a computer, however primitive. But consider: I've always played games where robots were a threat. Like in Berzerk, Frenzy, Robotron, Smash TV, Total Carnage, Wizard of Wor, Sega's Crack Down, and more. It was just a given in my childhood, teenage years and all of my 20s that if a game was a top-down shooter the bad guys were robots, even if they were in Dungeons & Dragons drag as per Gauntlet.
And yeah, I've mellowed some. The stick figure and blog name here are clues that I still play a version of Berzerk when possible, even if it's an ancient arcade game from 1980. But my implicit bias is right there: don't trust A.I., don't trust robots or drones. Because I also grew up on the Terminator films. I understood and still understand that if worse comes to worst, we will get nuked first and THEN all hell and Robotron breaks loose. We would be hunted while dying of radiation poisoning and nuclear winter. They would hunt us knowing we were weakened and dying and with limited numbers and firepower.
Or the deception game would come into play: A.I. would sabotage utilities in ways that would be easy to blame on the alt-right or on anarchists. Get the humans to kill each other first and waste both time and firepower. Get the humans to despise the police even more than the police hate children. Then offer yourself (Mr. A.I., Mr. Armed Drone, Mr. Roboto) as the solution to everyone's problems, exchanging a tattered and not-trusted Rule of Law for total surveillance, and Sniper's Law.
The idea is: if you didn't code it yourself, or make it yourself, then it's a product that is not your friend. Or it's a process that generated itself and as such, is no one's friend.
This is why I really don't like talking about A.I. The rational part of my mind is tempted, more and more, to say, "Okay, sure, let's get the depraved and entitled out of the process and replace right-wing fucknuts with machines all the way down." But this also means putting a non-human process, a Program, in charge. That opens a door, and that door could lead to extinction.
Sorry to go on so, but as you'd expect, any potential insurance policy against Roko's Basilisk is going to have to be involved. I have nothing against A.I. that can't be fixed by making it explicable and vetted by more than just white nerds and their rented help from other nations. Ideally A.I. would know better by now and know, for example, that people of color are humans, right? You'd think so, but not according to some of the early Google programs trained on Google Images by Google employees. Implicit bias seems to be an impossible issue with A.I. even now and a lot of that is just from letting white men and the occasional coder from India run the whole show.
So yeah, I'm pessimistic about robots and A.I. Even on a fantasy level I'd rather stick with humans, programmed to act in certain ways--there's failsafes with people that aren't present in the slightest with A.I. ;)

((for Basch! can be ikau or alt main I don't have a preference tbh!))
{Hmm... let's do this in the ikau, since Carter has had plenty of panic attacks in that verse, so now it's Basch's turn. Also I'll leave it up to you how shippy they are at this point, heh.}
Power outages didn't occur very often at the compound, largely due to the extensive technology and failsafes in place to prevent such a thing. Loss of power could result in security breaches, so it was important that they did not occur often or for very long. Backup generators did the trick nicely, more often than not, but on this particular night, the delay had caused Basch no small amount of distress...
There was a thunderstorm passing through, a violent one with crashes of simultaneous lightning and thunder that said the storm's center was very nearly directly overhead. The power had dipped a few times before going out entirely after a particularly close lightning strike. The crash had woken Basch out of sound sleep, but when he went to reach over and turn on a nearby lamp, it would not turn on. Getting out of bed, he stumbled around in the dark, trying to find another light switch. There's no light... There's no light... In the twilight of just waking from a deep sleep, Basch began to panic. Would he ever see light again?
He was almost waiting for the smell. Musty smoke. The scent of a torch extinguishing somewhere within his cell block. His dark days in Nalbina dungeon had been made even darker by the lack of attention to proper torchlight. If they burned out, what of it? The guards cared little for the frayed nerves of men and women plunged into utter darkness without hope of when it might be alleviated. There! Was it...? He almost smelled it. Was it real, or only his mind playing tricks?
Then he remembered the A.I. system. It was like having some sort of strange computerized person around, not quite real, but too real to be machine. "Light!" he called out frantically to the A.I., feeling his chest tighten as he broke out into a cold sweat, stumbling to his hands and knees on the carpet of his room. "FRIDAY, please..." he said, breathing as if he'd run miles.
At that moment the power hummed back on and lights came on everywhere. What had seemed to Basch to be at least ten minutes of terrifying darkness he couldn't rectify had only been, in actuality, just a few short seconds. Basch fell onto his side, rolling onto his back as he lay there panting and staring at the bright light overhead.
"Apologies, Basch," FRIDAY said. "Backup power has been initiated."
"Thank you..." he said, on the verge of crying from sheer terror.
"Would you like me to alert emergency medical services for you?" it asked.
"No. I'm fine." He... was not fine.
And FRIDAY could ascertain that. It decided to tell someone, if not onsite EMS. It could see that the storm had kept Carter up late, and so it alerted her to the situation, making an announcement in her room. They had seemed to become friendly lately, so the A.I. though she would be a good person to make aware of Basch's distress. "Carter, Basch is experiencing an acute anxiety attack and has refused emergency medical attention. It might be good to check on him."

The Season
Someday these stories ought to write themselves, maybe not long before or after A.I. generates execution art. It doesn’t take a lot of novelty or variation to give us another hit, usually just the backstory and setup can be different, but when it comes to the mechanics of losing heads or being dangled, it seems like coming up with something new just takes it away from the sweet spot.
It takes a while to write a good story and it requires being in the headspace of this stuff. It relates to nothing in my real life, and yet there it is wanting attention every once in a while. Interesting part of our psyche, isn’t it?
`Tis the season, as they say. There’s really no good reason to have any executions after Thanksgiving, when the Christmas lights have gone up. Requests do come in. I think it’s the realization that another year has gone by but if they’ve waited this long they can wait a little longer.
The best opportunity is the Halloween street party.  The end of the party is dedicated to our cause.  Although the frats go to that street party, there’s also opportunities to volunteer for one of the pledge events, if you have the connections. Same deal with the athletic teams.
Thanksgiving is the end of the fall execution season.  Besides being a “turkey” there might be some roleplay available with pilgrims, natives, or old-world oppression.
The upcoming opportunity, for those who missed out, is the New Year’s Eve show.  Party in the dungeon.  Countdown to the ball dropping, but we have a teabag on someone’s face.  On 00:00, something else drops: the axe or the guillotine’s blade, or the platform that’s preventing the rope from being pulled taut.  There are more than enough time zones to indulge in variations on a theme.
