Give me a modern AU where Perona is a collage drop out because her best friend/roommate Gekomoria ended up being a criminal handing in illegal trades. Like he was her rich friend buying her everything but they genuinely got on great. But after the apartment being ransacked through the investigation. The interview and court dealings taking so long she failed all her classes. And because since he was arrested she lost her house. She dropped out.
She ends up having to reach out to extended family until one distance uncle agreed and is now staying with Mihawk until she can mentally and financially recover from the biggest fuck over of her life. She’s part time employed at an alt fashion store and rather then pays rent does most of the chores.
Zoro moves in a year later to not have to pay for his own house while in collage and mihawk suddenly finds his happy single (probably rich) life filled with annoying 20 yo’s baking cookies at three am and drinking all the damn milk.

You rose before the sun, careful to pack your belongings all in one sack. Considering the very little amount you’d brought, it was a relatively easy task—leaving the sloop would be fine, too, as you paid for the slip for a few months longer at least. Your father had so many ships across so many seas it hardly mattered much anymore.
You double-checked that you had all of your things before shutting down and leaving the sloop, consulting some of the dock men to transfer a boat lift under the berth. You moved carefully across the east port, making quick time as you returned to the Straw Hats’ ship in slip fifty-two.
There were apparent signs of life when you reached the ship, even with the sky cast over in dark hues of navy. All of the dead bodies had been removed, for one, and dock men were loading barrels up on the deck while Sanji watched over them. His expression brightened as his gaze fell across you.
“Lady Dracule!” he called out, slipping off from the barrel on which he’d been perched to meet you at the pier. You gave him an unimpressed look.
“I have a name, you know.”
“Oh, I wasn’t aware of that,” Sanji answered, a lopsided grin pulling up the side of his face. You rolled his eyes and introduced yourself, which only prompted a brighter smile and a steady pat of his hand on your back. “A fine name, for a fine woman.”
“Sanji, stop flirting with the crew.” You glanced up to see Nami, one hip cocked to the side with her hand on her waist, staring down with an exasperated glint in her eye. “Welcome aboard the Going Merry. Sorry I was a little grouchy last night. I don’t like having my sleep interrupted.” She leaned down to offer you her hand, and you took it, climbing aboard the ship.
“The Going Merry?”
“Fits it, don’t you think?” Sanji asked from behind you. Nami eyed him again, volume dropping as she tilted her head towards yours.
“He’ll quit with the sweet talk eventually. I’ll give you a tour once we’ve cast off. We’re just waiting for Zoro to get back from town, and then we’re all set.” She turned to bark out another few orders to Sanji— “Finish up with the crates already!”
“Anything you want, madam,” Sanji said with a little bow. Nami let out a long-suffering sigh.
“Luffy already prepared a room for you. I’ll show you to it.” She led you below deck, back towards the ship’s aft. There was a collection of rooms all crammed together, one beside the other. “These are the women’s quarters. Men’s’ are all the way at the front of the ship.” She nodded behind her. “You get this one here. Sorry, it’s small.”
She opened the door to the very last room, and you stepped inside, surveying your surroundings. It wasn’t much; the cabin barely scraped by as a room, consisting of only a wardrobe, a hanging bed, and a small table and chair stuck in the corner. A round window at the very edge of the room revealed the water just a mere few feet below.
“It’ll do fine, thank you,” you said. Your room back at home was far more ornate, but you’d never been picky.
“You can sleep for a few more hours,” Nami said, lingering by the cabin mouth. “Come find me when you’re ready for a tour. We should be setting off in a few moments, if Zoro’s back.”
You gave her a smile, and she left, the patter of her footsteps dying off as she walked further and further away.
It didn’t take you long to get arranged, and afterwards, you gingerly sat down on the bed, the rope tied to the ceiling causing it to sway under you. You were still uncertain about boarding the ship, but you couldn't exactly return to your sloop now. And it wasn’t the worst idea in the world, you tried to convince yourself.
You felt the ship start moving just a few moments later, and you stood up, walking across the rocking ship to get up to the deck. You were making fast time, Loguetown’s silhouette rapidly getting swallowed in the gulp of the horizon.
Nami was bickering with Zoro and Luffy when you found her. “What even took you so long? We were due to leave a half-hour ago.”
“I was getting new swords,” Zoro said calmly. Nami eyed him, then yanked something out of his hand. A wallet, it looked like, stuffed with bills of berry. “You can’t be mad at me. I spent less than half of your budget.”
“They scammed you,” Nami scoffed, eyeing the katanas at Zoro’s hip. Zoro simply shrugged. “A sword for free? It’s probably made of plastic.”
Zoro snorted. “I’d be able to tell.”
Nami cast him a look, gaze unimpressed under the line of her eyelashes. “You can’t tell the difference between a ship mast and a tree.”
“Yeah, but I know swords.”
“Oh, hey!” Luffy, who’d seemed tuned out of his crewmates’ conversation, said as he spotted you. “Glad to see you here. Officially part of the crew.”
“Oh, well…” you hesitated. “Not so sure if I’ll be joining you forever.” Luffy looked confused by that, but not particularly offended—Nami and Zoro had turned to watch you, too, argument dying on trembling legs. “Right now the plan is to help you get to the Grand Line. From there you can drop me home. And then we’ll part ways.”
“If you change your mind…” Luffy trailed off, then patted you on the shoulder. “Nami, were you going to show her around?”
“I was, but I’ve got some mapping to do.” Nami glanced over at Zoro. “Hey. Make yourself useful.”
“I hate you,” Zoro muttered. He brushed past you, just barely motioning with his head for you to follow. “Afterdeck.”
You stepped into the small space. It was easily the most secluded place on the ship deck, decorated with three young tangerine trees in white boxy planters. “I like your trees.”
“They’re Nami’s trees.” Zoro gestured with his head again, and you followed him. The tour was brief; Zoro didn’t have much to say, generally just showing you a room before telling you what it was and departing for the next area.
You were about halfway through the tour when Zoro spoke again, the words abrupt in his throat. He spat them out rather than spoke them, and you got the impression he’d been mulling over talking for a while— “You ever beat your dad in combat?”
You snorted. “No.”
Zoro didn’t look at you, opting instead to push through the next doorway and gesture vaguely around him to show you the surroundings. “Gotten close?”
“Never.” You shrugged. “He taught me the basics, but I wasn’t the best student. He’d try to be strict and everything, but… sword fighting isn’t really my thing. You’re probably better than me.”
Zoro gazed at you skeptically. “He taught you.”
“Yeah.”
“Do you—” He paused, mouth open for a moment before resuming his sentence. He didn’t sound particularly hesitant, but the pause had you stifling a smile anyway, knowing he was at least a little bit flustered. “We should train together.”
“Was that a question?”
“Not really.” Zoro’s lip quirked, one side of his mouth tugging upwards in an odd semblance of a smile. He didn’t seem the type to smile often, though, so it didn’t look out of ordinary on his face. “Have you seen enough of the ship yet, or do you want me to show you the bilge too?”
“I’m good, thanks,” you answered primly. “Now did you want to fight me or not?”
Zoro actually smiled at that.
You decided to train on the main deck, in an area wide enough to not bump into anyone else. You shed your jacket, pulling Hiru out of its scabbard. Zoro winced as the sun hit the silver blade, reflecting a blinding gleam off its surface. “That a stylistic choice?”
“I polish things when I get anxious,” you answered. “So not really.”
“Right.” Zoro untied a black bandana from where it was fixed on his bicep, fingers working fluidly against the knot. Once he got it untied, he wrapped it around his head, tying it carefully around his head. Afterwards, he slid one of his swords out of its scabbard, holding it with his fingers to follow with the other. “How low should my expectations be?”
“I don’t know, you tell me,” you answered. Zoro let a soft sound out through his mouth, but he said no more, transferring one sword to each hand. He moved carefully, arms arching over his head to lower to each of his sides. You lifted Hiru up, more casual in your movements than Zoro was.
You paid more attention to Zoro than the actual fight when you started moving. You figured you’d have time to genuinely practice later—you hadn’t kept a close eye on the swordsman in the battle against the pirate hunters, and your curiosity was eating at you. Zoro was all angles when he fought, elbows lifted and limbs pin-straight. That wasn’t to say there was no flexibility in his movements, though—he dodged your oncoming attacks easily, sidestepping with a light twist of the torso so your blade cut air instead of flesh.
Just a few seconds in you could tell Zoro was far, far better than you. You parried one of his attacks, gasp ripping from your throat as you just barely managed to block off a slash from his katana with Hiru. He spun towards you, careful not to actually cut as his blade came for the throat. You managed to dodge just in time, moving backwards with a quick patter of your feet against the wooden deck.
There was barely anything skewed in his motions, you were soon to realize. He was perfect in every sense of the word. Your styles were vastly different, of course—Zoro mainly relied on his blades, and his physicality was carefully practiced, no curves or bends apparent in the straight lines and slants of his body. In comparison, you were much more slippery, focusing mainly on your agility to carry you throughout a fight rather than your strength.
“Your elbow,” Zoro said. You barely managed to respond, letting out a grunt of effort as you blocked Zoro’s oncoming attack.
“Hm?”
Zoro’s katana came from the left. He used the other one to knock your arm up, nearly gentle in his movements, and you were reminded of how Mihawk used to train you—stopping mid-fight to reposition your limbs, using his sword to carefully push your hands in the right places. “You’re dropping it.”
“I don’t care much for angles,” you answered, ducking under Zoro’s incoming blade and sliding off to the side instead of trying to shove against it. Zoro seemed startled by that, struck off-balance as he stumbled, turning to face you.
You jerked your sword towards him, one leg coming up to shove against his torso whilst doing so. You managed to knock him fully off-balance then, and he staggered against his feet, teetering precariously backwards. “Your center of gravity is screwed.”
“You dad kept flinging me around the pier,” Zoro said. You raised your brows, the phrase nonsensical to your ears. But it did sound like Mihawk. “It run in the family?”
“Very funny.” You dodged another slash of Zoro’s swords. “The only thing I picked up well in our lessons was about keeping balance.”
“And dodging, apparently.” You snickered at that, parrying another one of Zoro’s attacks—but it was getting harder and harder, what with the immense strength of his body you simply couldn’t keep up with. As flexible as you were, you weren’t quick enough this time, and Zoro swept you off your feet so you fell to the ground, wind bursting out of your chest all in one rush. Hiru clattered a few feet away, your fingers unfolding from their grip and letting it move freely.
Zoro slid his swords back in their sheaths, letting them close with a satisfying click. “You fight too defensively.”
You lay there for a moment, trying to gather air back into your lungs. “Never found a point in attacking others, really.” You got up, straightening your shirt before bending over to pick Hiru up from the floor. “Good fight.”
“Yeah,” Zoro said, but his voice was weak, tapering off to blend in with the wind. He had an uncertain look on his face, big brown eyes all fuzzy around the edges, like there was some cloudlike film covering him from seeing properly. You frowned at him.
“Is that because I’m worse or better than you expected?” you asked, gesturing vaguely up at his expression. Zoro blinked, the fog over his eyes clearing as he glanced down to meet your gaze. You waited expectantly, but he didn’t say anything. “Zoro?” you prompted.
“Sorry,” Zoro said. “I’m—I’m going to go to my cabin.”
You watched him leave, growing more quizzical by the second. Well, you’d gotten what you’d come there for, anyway. Roronoa Zoro was a great swordsman. And he certainly had the potential to be the greatest in the world, too—a realization that shook you a little, heart trembling from where it was fixed in your chest cavity. You swallowed hard, mind replaying the firm motions of his body from the fight. He’d been confident, sure of himself. You had even forgotten he still hosted Yoru’s slash along his torso from just a week or so prior, he’d been so… perfect.
“He’s good, huh?”
You startled, turning to see Usopp sitting atop a pile of crates like a king on a throne. He was picking at his fingernails. “Zoro,” he clarified. “Best swordsman in the East Blue.”
“Yeah,” you said, glancing over at where Zoro had left. “He is.”
Usopp eyed you for a moment. “Your shell phone is ringing.”
You startled, patting down your figure before finally unearthing your phone from where it was tucked safely away in your pocket. You opened it, pushing the den den mushi in your ear as it vibrated, little mouth making soft rumbling sounds to catch your attention. Usopp clearly didn’t know a thing about privacy, though, because he kept watching even as you picked up— “Hello?”
“Back home yet, darling?” Mihawk asked over the line, and you relaxed, your entire body going slack with comfort as you heard the familiar low hum of your father’s voice. “I figured you’d go back as quickly as possible.”
“No, actually,” you said. “Luffy roped me into coming aboard his ship.”
You could practically see Mihawk’s brows lift up in surprise. “You joined the Straw Hat pirate’s crew?”
“No. They’re bringing me home. I’m helping them get to the Grand Line,” you corrected. Mihawk hummed, the sound a crackle of monotony through the den den mushi’s mouth.
“And why, pray tell, would you do that?”
You chewed at your bottom lip, glancing off the side of the Going Merry to the East Blue. The sun had risen fully, fixing itself in a warm beam in the sky. “I was curious about Roronoa Zoro. You never told me why you left him alive. Or why you let Luffy go.” You could still feel Usopp’s gaze on you while you spoke, and you just knew he’d be telling the rest of his crew this after your conversation finished. “So I wanted to figure out your reasoning.”
“Ah,” Mihawk said. “Has he healed from Yoru’s wound yet?”
“It’s not like I tore off his shirt to check, dad,” you muttered. Mihawk barked out a laugh, and you startled at the sound before settling down again. “He walks fine. I saw bandages.”
Mihawk seemed pleased by that. “Wonderful. He’s a hardy one. You should fight him.”
“Already did,” you answered. “He beat me.”
Mihawk considered that for a moment. “Eh, I saw that coming.”
You scoffed. “You have no faith in me. Where are you now?”
“South Blue, still,” Mihawk replied. “Are you at least enjoying yourself there? It’ll be good for you to make friends, sweetheart. You don’t get much social interaction other than me and the villagers, after all.”
“I’m not here to make friends, I’m here to get a ride home,” you said insistently, but your voice was weak, and Mihawk clearly didn’t believe you. Your mind wandered back to Zoro—the firm muscle of his body, the hushed tone he spoke in, and you found your face pinkening. “One of them—one of them wants to kill you. That’s his entire life’s purpose. To murder you.”
“I think you’re being a tad bit broad, darling,” Mihawk said with a click of his tongue. “You seem rather enamored with this particular young swordsman. Something to say?”
“I—” your words fumbled in your mouth, and you were certain you were entirely pink now, the sun’s glowing rays only making your face warmer than it was rapidly turning. “Stop. I’m hanging up now.”
Mihawk’s voice was tastefully dry when he responded. “I’m sure.”
“Shut up, old man,” you grumbled.
“Right. Remember the rule, dear,” Mihawk trilled, and despite his voice being as monotone as ever, you could still identify the undertones of it—laced with syrupy mocking, all teasing and dramatic. “No dating unless he can beat you in combat!”
You actually did hang up this time, practically tearing the den den mushi out of your ear. You huffed out an irritated breath, rubbing a circle into the shell of your snail as an apology just a moment later. “Sorry,” you murmured. “My dad’s a bitch.”
The snail just let out a little grumble in response. You tucked it back into its case and snapped the phone shut.
“Aw, we’re not allowed to say hi?” You spun around at the new voice, glaring upon seeing Sanji and Luffy having joined Usopp in his eavesdropping. Sanji bore a gigantic grin on his face. “Sounded like an interesting conversation.”
“None of you know what boundaries are,” you muttered, but it was light-hearted.
You didn’t see Zoro until suppertime, a fact that rang odd in your head. It seemed like he’d completely evaporated from the ship, disappearing around every corner as you spent the rest of the day getting to know the rest of the crew better. Something had happened, but you weren’t exactly sure what—and you weren’t exactly sure if you were close enough to him to even ask, yet.
Sanji had cooked up a dinner so fine you doubted it could even quality as ship food. From your time traveling with your father, rations on-board hadn’t been much of anything—a few scraps of bread or dried meat, old apples, perhaps some fish if you were lucky. Mihawk hadn’t the biggest priority on eating well, but the Straw Hat crew seemed to have the exact opposite opinion. You were served a bowl of miso soup along with a bowl of rice, and dishes of tofu and oyster sauce stir-fried vegetables were carefully laid out all across the table.
“Bon appétit,” Sanji said, taking a half-bow before slipping into the last seat around the table. “I hope it’s to your liking. Yours especially, Lady Dracule.” He gave you a little wink at that. You just stared at him.
“I thought I told you my name.”
“Well, you did, but I thought Lady Dracule had a nice ring to it.”
“It doesn’t,” you said. Nami stifled a snort, the hand not holding her chopsticks coming up to cover her mouth. Sanji didn’t look the slightest bit dissuaded. You turned your attention on Zoro, who hadn’t spoken a word throughout the whole meal. He was rather studiously focused on his bowl, eyes picking apart the grains of rice like they’d reveal the world’s greatest secrets.
Carefully, you leaned towards Nami, voice coming out in a hushed whisper. “Is he okay?”
“He gets like that sometimes,” Nami answered, her words drowned out by Usopp and Luffy’s cheerful conversation. “Nobody can crack him except for Luffy. I’d just leave him be.”
“You don’t know why?”
Nami just shrugged. “Hell, we’re all depressed sometimes. Not within my rights to question him.”
You nodded, but your gaze didn’t move away from Zoro’s figure. There was a particular squeezing sensation deep in your chest—a little flip-flop thing, a sort of panging you couldn’t quite place. He glanced up, dark eyes meeting yours for just a fraction of a second. But he didn’t flinch away. He just returned your gaze, strong and unblinking.
To your surprise, Zoro was the first to look away, craning his neck to study his bowl again and continuing on like your extended bout of eye contact hadn’t even happened. You watched him, dumbstruck, until Nami nudged you in the shoulder. The rest of the group’s idle chatter had died down, and Usopp and Sanji were staring at you, low murmurs falling out of their mouths. You cleared your throat, finally dropping your gaze from the green-haired swordsman and attempting to ignore the fact everyone had caught you staring.
You didn’t do much of anything after supper—you just returned to your cabin, carefully walking across the creaking boards of the ship. Luffy assigned you mid watch, so you had a few hours to sleep before waking up at midnight to look out for any enemies.
You couldn’t find yourself falling asleep even after you’d slipped into bed. You’d changed, a loose blouse light against your skin, black silk shorts grazing your thighs. It was cold out, so you shrugged on a robe as you headed out into the darkness of the Going Merry. You emerged out on the deck, taking in a breath of the night air as you glanced to see who had the night watch.
Just your luck. It was Zoro.
He seemed tranquil, lounging across a hammock with his white sword—the Wado Ichimonji—cradled in his arms. In the dim light you couldn’t see if his eyes were open or closed, but as you got closer, he cracked one of them open, a gleam reflecting off his right iris. “Hi,” you said, moving over to the side of the ship to watch the waves on the water.
Zoro didn’t deign to respond, so you just stood there, watching the sea lap at the side of the ship until eventually the hour struck twelve. Zoro left soundlessly. You stayed awake all throughout your watch until Usopp came to relieve you of your duties.
Zoro was avoiding you.
A few days had passed since you first boarded the Going Merry. They hadn’t been of much interest—just days of practicing with your sword and chatting with the crew, for the most part. You helped around the ship, completing various tasks apparently none of the members knew or cared enough to do. You were just emerging from the bilge, having done basic maintenance to ensure everything was working properly, when you bumped into him. The man was apparently taking a nap, though you couldn’t figure out why the storage area was a very good place to sleep. Still, he seemed comfortable enough, long body splayed along a grouping of crates.
“Hi,” you said, for what seemed like the hundredth time over a few days. Zoro just averted his gaze and let out a little grunt in response. You stared at him for a moment. The realization had dawned on you ever since the first day, but it was growing more and more apparent, and you were baffled as to what you’d done to incur the silent treatment.
“Hi,” you repeated, more purposefully this time.
“Hey,” Zoro said, though the word was clearly bitter in his mouth. You propped your hands on your hips and stared down at him.
“You’re avoiding me.”
Zoro closed his eyes, expression not even changing. “You’re not that special.”
“Ever since we fought that one time, you’ve been ignoring me,” you barreled on, entirely ignoring his quip. Zoro cocked a brow, eyes still closed, and you glared down at it. “I’d like to know why.”
“Why do you care? We’re not friends.”
“Isn’t it natural to want to know why someone is mad at you?” you demanded, perplexed. Zoro sighed then, shifting around on his boxes.
“I’m not mad at you.” You heaved out a sigh even more irritated than Zoro’s. Your experience in the realm of dealing with close-lipped men’s personal issues was, unfortunately, rather well-seasoned. You’d had to coax situations out of your father, one hand pressed against Yoru’s hilt to prevent Mihawk from lashing out his frustrations rather than explaining them. But that didn’t mean you were all too fond of it.
“Okay, well, why else would you be ignoring me then?”
Zoro’s response was annoyingly frank. “It’s not really any of your business.”
You pursed your lips, trying to suppress the irritated noise that threatened to burst from your throat. “I don’t like being on bad terms with people,” you started. “If I did something to piss you off, I’d very much like it if you—”
The floor slipped out from underneath you before you could finish your sentence. You fell with a graceless clatter, lurching forward into the stack of crates Zoro was leaning on, words dying on your tongue. The entire boat trembled, quivering from side to side as if the ocean waves had suddenly propelled a thousand more ripples at its surface.
Zoro sat immediately up, one hand pushing you off of him as he scrambled off the crates. “What was that?”
“I don’t—” Just a moment after regaining your balance, there was another dull thud and a row of quivers. You remained steady this time, glancing carefully around you before you and Zoro were both hurrying up towards the ship deck. The Going Merry was in chaos when you emerged, Nami at the helm while Sanji was firing up a cannon beside her.
“What’s going on?” you demanded, the tails of your coat lapping around your calves as you hurried up besides Luffy.
“Pirates,” Luffy said grimly, nodding towards a ship that was quickly gaining on you. “They blew through the stern railing. Do any of you recognize the jolly roger?”
You glanced up, taking in the billowing sail boasting a pure-white jolly roger with a top hat and mustache. “Nope. These things are getting more and more ridiculous,” you muttered.
“Yeah,” Luffy agreed, affronted. “Ours is way better.”
You turned your gaze up at the Straw Hat crew’s aforementioned jolly roger. “...No comment.”
“We can’t outrun them!” Nami shouted from her place at the helm. Sanji had successfully nailed a cannonball into the railing of the oncoming ship, but they had a dozen more men. “I’m going to try to get closer. Best chance we have is one-on-one combat.” She turned to fix the small grouping with a glare. “Don’t just stand there. Get to it!”
You launched into action, hurrying to climb up the rigging to get a better view as Nami veered hard to starboard. The enemy ship had dropped their cannons, and you could see them preparing to board the Merry, grabbing onto loose ropes of rigging. “They’re going to swing over,” you reported, watching as the ship tilted in your direction, gaining on you. “I see maybe two or three dozen men.”
You hesitated, glancing around at the rather stationary crew around you. Your lip tugged between your teeth, and you stood there for a moment, unspoken words heavy on your tongue. You could see the captain yelling out orders on the ship across from you, and you turned abruptly, fixing Sanji with a look.
“Sanji, trade with Usopp. I want you to nail a cannon at their port stern.”
“W—What? Me?” Usopp stuttered. You nodded.
“I want Sanji on the frontlines. That should be close enough now.” You gazed out at the rapidly thinning gap between the two ships. One final cannonball whizzed towards, and you ducked, watching as it just brushed the side of the Merry. The ship rocked, and you tightened your grip on the rigging, satisfied to see it’d barely left a mark.
“They’re coming over,” Sanji reported, and you nodded, sliding Hiru out from your scabbard as enemy pirates started swinging over on ropes. Luffy was the first to react, an arching, rubbery limb catching one of them midair and yanking them down into the ocean. Boots thudded on the ground as the enemy pirates landed aboard the Going Merry.
“Time for a fight,” Zoro murmured, barely audible from your left. You jumped down from the rigging, sword coming down to crash against one of the enemy pirates. He reacted slowly, pistol cocking towards your chest—but you just brushed it to the side with Hiru, cutting it straight out his hand and following up with a flurry of sword thrusts.
Besides you, you saw Sanji sliding into battle, spinning on his palms to deliver a mean right hook to someone’s jawbone. An audible crack pierced the air, and you winced, breezing backwards on your feet as two pirates closed in on you.
Luffy seemed to have engaged in a one-on-one with the enemy captain, who was easily identifiable due to the gigantic top hat perched upon his head. He had thick black hair tied neatly back in a ponytail, and a mustache and beard to match. A thick cutlass was tightened in one fist, thrusted towards Luffy—but every sweep was dodged with unbelievable bends of the torso.
You turned your attention away, whipping your sword at the pirates that surrounded you. Hiru clashed with their blades, gleaming silver scraping against theirs. You leaned forward, and the blade before you broke with the pressure, sword snapping under Hiru’s will.
The sword dropped out of the pirate’s hand, and you took the opportunity to pull your leg up, kicking him squarely in the jaw. The other lunged for you, and your fist dug into their torso, hands gripping tight to their belt. You bent over, twisting into his body to push him over your shoulder in a sweeping throw.
He fell to the floor all in one, and you landed a kick to his chest just to ensure he wouldn’t get up again. Another man—bigger, this time, probably half your width and inches taller—gunned for you.
You sidestepped him easily, agility tilting in your favor as you escaped his grasp. It was harder to take this one down—while you could dodge him well enough, and parry his oncoming attacks, he was simply too strong to compete with. Strength isn’t everything, little hawk, Mihawk would always tell you. Everyone has a weakness. Get them off balance. Use your points.
The man delivered a stinging left hook to your torso, and you gasped. He took the opportunity to grab onto your wrist, grip so tight you couldn’t move your hand. Hiru clattered out from between your fingers. You directed a hit with your elbow towards the pirate’s sternum, but it was oddly-placed, and he just sneered down at you.
One of his large fists rose to thud against your skull, and you braced for impact, but the blow never landed. A warm squishing sound of a sword against skin made your entire body shudder, and you turned to stare as your assailant’s head slid cleanly off of his neck.
Zoro was behind him when his body collapsed, sword slick with blood as he spun it lazily around in a hand. “Careful,” he said.
You gaped up at him for merely a second more before you realized your jaw was ajar. You flushed, bending over to fish Hiru up from the floor. “I was fine.”
Zoro just thrust his sword cleanly into the torso of an incoming pirate, eyes not breaking away from yours. He slid it out with a sickening sound, flicking the blood off the blade with a motion of his hand. “A thank you might be nice.”
“Behind you,” you said instead, but Zoro was already reacting. You watched him, an incurable sigh perched on the tip of your tongue. He was good. He was really, really good, and you didn’t know how to feel about it. “Is that most of them?”
“I think—” Zoro cut himself off, glancing over his shoulder as you both hear the familiar yell of Luffy’s voice screaming out one of his final moves. You both watched, soundless, as his foot smashed into the top hat pirate’s face, flinging him all the way across the water straight into the mast of his own ship. Only mere seconds later did the mast crack, the wooden pole falling down in a glorious, wooden heap.
“...Yeah, we’re fine.” Zoro said. He leaned down, grabbing the shirt of one of the fallen pirates to wipe his blade with before sliding it back in its scabbard. “Let’s get out of here.”
“On it.” Nami snapped her bo staff closed—when she’d jumped down into the battle, you were unsure, but she was already returning to her place at the helm. “Toss these bodies off our boat, would you, Zoro?”
“Right.” Zoro bent over, easily picking up the fallen pirate and chucking the corpse overboard without another thought. You watched him the entire time, the strain of his biceps against his skin forming solid ridges up his arms.
“I can clean your swords,” you said, words a bit too late out of your mouth. Zoro glanced up, brow creased. “While you’re doing that.”
Zoro looked uncertain, but he unstrapped the scabbards from his hip, handing the twin katanas to you. You took them, glancing over his figure again. He moved with difficulty, and while you’d originally thought that was because of the bodies’ weight, you now saw the real reason. Lines of crimson were seeping through his shirt, a pool by the left side of his lower abdomen the biggest injured site. You took an involuntary step forward. “You’re hurt.”
“I can treat them later,” Zoro said dismissively. “Gotta clean up the Merry first.”
“No, mosshead, the lady is right,” Sanji said. You startled, not having noticed him slip up beside you. “Usopp and I can manage with waste control, eh?” He winked. “Go clean up.”
Zoro glared at him, the look dripping with malice, but he didn’t argue past that. “Fine,” he said, chucking another body—this one alive—off the side of the ship before straightening. You heard the hitch in his breath as he spoke, along with the near-imperceptible wince of his face. “You good, Luffy?”
“A little hungry,” Luffy responded truthfully. He was still watching the other ship. Fire had started aboard it, and soft billows of black smoke drifted in the air. “Can you cook something up later, Sanji?”
“Got it,” Sanji said. “Tell your first mate to patch up his wound before he bleeds out all over our beautiful deck.”
“The deck isn’t beautiful, it’s got blood and guts all over it,” Zoro muttered.
“Well, have a little respect and don’t add to the mess.” Sanji fixed him with a stern look. Zoro bared his teeth at him in a grimace, extracting a sharp little laugh out of your throat. His eyes brushed over yours, a glimmer of surprise dancing in his irises, before he ducked inside.
“Why are you following me?” Zoro asked flatly, as you entered the cabin he’d gone into. You’d hastened to keep up with him, only a few steps behind before finding the room he’d gone into. Zoro had propped himself up on the hanging bed, loosening the ties of his wrap shirt to expose his bare chest.
“I was wondering if you needed any help with your wounds.” You deposited Zoro’s swords, along with Hiru, on the table in the room, moving closer to him to survey the scene. “If you wanted it.”
Zoro’s gaze met yours, and he said nothing for a moment. “First aid kit’s over there,” he finally said, nodding to the table. You moved towards it, opening up the small box to expose supplies of bandages, needles, stitch string, and disinfectant inside. You carried the box over to the bed, sanitizing your hands before carefully parting the folds of Zoro’s shirt. The cloth stuck to skin, coagulating blood making the shirt peel rather than move. Now that his entire torso was bared, though, you could fully inspect his wounds. There were still bandages from Yoru’s cut, all dirtied up now from his other injuries—you’d have to take them off and re-dress them, so he’d be in the bed for thirty minutes at least.
You turned your attention to the cut by Zoro’s abdomen, deciding it was the most important thing to focus on. The cut wasn’t too deep, but it was gushing a steady flow of blood, and you picked up a towel to press against the wound. “Hold,” you instructed, and Zoro’s fingers brushed against yours as he took a hold of the cloth. “Thanks. I’ve got to take your bandages off, then I’ll clean and dress all the wounds. That one down there might need stitches.”
“How do you know how to do this?” Zoro asked, watching as you unwrapped the previous bandages from around his chest. You were careful to touch his skin as little as possible, distracting yourself with the blood and gauze.
“My dad,” you answered. You’d spent too many late nights patching up a wound Mihawk had brushed off as unimportant, only to wind up bleeding out on your couch. Zoro raised a brow.
“Dracule Mihawk gets injured?”
“Of course he does,” you said with a huff. “Don’t be stupid. He’s a man, just like the rest of you.” The gash from Yoru had fully scabbed over, revealing a long, trembling crust of dark ochre. You finished peeling off all the bandages, and cast them to the side.
“You know a lot.”
“Jack of all trades, master of none,” you quipped. You moved away from the desk to fill a bucket with warm water, dipping a cloth into it and squeezing out the excess. You dabbed around Yoru’s scab with the cloth, careful not to break the shell while still cleaning it of any extra gunk. Then you focused on flushing out the other wounds, wiping across his skin and getting all the little nicks on his chest and arms. Zoro didn’t say a word, but you could feel his eyes boring into your skull, watching you with a hardened intensity that made your insides churn.
You nudged his hand away, examining the big cut. The rag he was holding had filled up with blood, white cotton dyed red and sodden with liquid. Thankfully, the bleeding seemed to have lessened. You wiped up all the last of it with your towel, swiping it against the pills of blood that had caught along the waistband of his trousers. Zoro hissed as you came into contact with the wound. “Sorry,” you murmured.
“Why are you apologizing?”
You frowned at that. “Because it hurt?”
“I thought you were mad at me,” Zoro said stiffly. You raised your brows. “Since… you thought I was annoyed at you, or whatever.”
“Just because you feel a certain kind of way towards me doesn’t mean I reciprocate the same feelings,” you answered, setting aside your towel after deciding everything had been cleaned out well enough. You picked up another cloth, dabbing this one with some alcohol to disinfect the wound. “This is going to sting,” you warned.
Zoro’s jaw clenched, teeth grinding against each other as you flushed out the wound. His torso clenched, and your eyes fell across his exposed midriff, watching the tight skin that was seemingly sculpted into muscles. You glanced away just a moment later, a dusting of warmth brushing over your cheeks. “On that topic,” you hastened to say, trying to distract yourself from the half-naked man in front of you, “Why were you avoiding me?”
Zoro let out a sigh, the sound stuttered as he clenched his jaw again when you brushed your towel against his wound. You waited, taking out a fresh cloth to dab at the other nicks on his body. You examined the wound near his left side again. “Stitches.”
“Great,” Zoro muttered. You ignored him, searching in the kit for some needle and thread. “Can you take the stitches out from your dad’s yet?”
“Ha ha. You’re going to need those for a few more weeks,” you said, without even looking at the scab to check. “Ask me again later. Yoru cuts are deadly.”
Zoro let his eyes flutter closed. “It’s a great sword.”
“Yeah, it is,” you said. You paused from where you were threading the needle, glancing up at Zoro’s face now that you knew he couldn’t catch you staring. He looked so peaceful in this state, eyelashes splayed along his cheeks, dark umber freckles that you hadn’t noticed before splattered across his face. There were dozens of them, skin sun-worn and bearing the marks as proof—constellations of dark brown stars, so similar to his warm, glowing skin it was easy to miss. A five-o’-clock shadow traced around his mouth, and at his left ear, his golden earrings gleamed bright.
“I don’t feel anything,” Zoro said, and you snapped out of your reverie, fingers fumbling to finish threading your needle.
“Patience is a virtue, you know,” you hissed. Zoro snorted.
“Yeah, one I don’t have.” You rolled your eyes, tying off the string and bending down to examine the cut again. It wasn’t too wide—maybe five or six stitches at most. You gave Zoro no warning except for the light brush of your fingers against the wound, and he hissed again.
You glanced up. “Do you want something to bite on?”
“I’m not a toddler,” Zoro sneered. You mouthed his words mockingly, though you didn’t actually speak them, not wanting him to catch you doing such an immature action. You fixed your gaze back on the wound, free hand resting flat against Zoro’s abdomen to steady you—his skin was warm under your palm, and you expected him to say something, but to your surprise, he didn’t even flinch.
The first puncture came carefully. Zoro hissed, the sound of a low rumble in his throat as you felt his abdomen clench under your palm. You forced yourself to continue, pulling the thread fully through the skin before moving onto the other side of the wound. You did it again, carefully to keep the string untangled as it ran through Zoro’s flesh.
“It wasn’t because I was mad at you,” Zoro said abruptly, and you paused, glancing up to look at Zoro’s face. His eyes were still closed, brows contorted tight and mouth bared down into a grimace. “Don’t stop. I wasn’t avoiding you because I was angry. Or because of anything you did.”
“Why, then?” you asked, lowering your head to continue with your stitches. Zoro took in a sharp breath at the next one, the edges of a scream cutting into his breath but not fully escaping from his throat. You were rubbing a comforting circle into his stomach before you could stop yourself—muscle memory from patching up your dad’s wounds. You swallowed hard, but didn’t stop the motions—Zoro didn’t seem offended by them.
His voice was raggedy when he spoke again. “Fighting against you. It reminded me of—my friend, from back then. I told you about her.”
Your lips pursed, but you didn’t stall your actions, running the thread through the hole you’d pricked. “The one you made the promise to?”
“Yeah,” Zoro said, the word falling out all in one breath. You fixed the string tight along the wound, fingers splayed across his stomach warning him for the next puncture. He continued speaking despite it, and your needle hovered over his skin. “We were training together—fuck.”
“Sorry,” you said again, still running your thread through his skin as he heaved out a long, ragged groan from low in his throat.
“We were training together,” he repeated. “Haven’t done that in a while with a girl. So it—” His voice tapered off in another breathy groan. “Reminded me of her. I got bitchy.”
“Yeah, I noticed,” you said. You were getting close to the end of the wound now, but your actions slowed, just to keep him talking—the words came out all harsh and hesitant, and you got the feeling speaking about his past was a laborious task. Might as well let him have the safety of avoiding your eyes like this while he spoke. “Do I look like her or something?”
Zoro huffed out a laugh. “Ha. No.”
“Okay,” you said. You pierced his skin again—he took this one better, muscles clenching as he sucked in hard. You waited until you finished the stitch to speak again. “Are you going to keep avoiding me?”
“No,” Zoro said. His words pierced the air, weighed heavy with a gasp of pain and a hiss, but it still rang sharp in your ears. He eased out a breath, long and soft. “It was unfair. Can’t help it sometimes, that’s all.”
“That’s fine,” you answered carefully. You threaded one last stitch, both of you mute as you tightened the wound closed with the suture and tied it off. You snipped the string with a pocketknife, using another damp towel to clean up any of the excess blood. “I’m going to dress everything with bandages now. Almost done.”
“Okay,” Zoro said. You reorganized your supplies, tucking away your stitching things to replace with bandages and dressing pads. You washed your hands again, then returned to bend over Zoro’s torso. When you did, you were surprised to see Zoro’s eyes had opened, soft brown irises boring into yours. You swallowed, feeling the burn of his gaze into your skin as you stared at the skin of his midsection.
“I’ll do the big one first, then everything else,” you said carefully. You worked in silence, pressing a dressing pad along the wound and tying it off with some gauze to fix it in place. You moved around his body, bandaging up any cuts you deemed worthy until you finally were left with Yoru’s cut.
It stretched the entire expanse of his torso, from shoulder to hip. It’d been well done, the cut deep but not deep enough to kill as long as someone was fast enough with treatment. You recognized the shape of the cut, the very tip of it thin before Yoru’s mouth caught the skin with the center of his blade. “He did it like this on purpose?” Zoro asked.
“Yeah,” you said. “He’s methodical with most things.” You wrapped gauze around the scab, tightening it up and then finally tying it off by his hip. “I’d keep that on for a few days before replacing it. Keep dressing it for another two weeks or so. It’ll probably start swelling soon, so I can help you drain whatever fluid develops.”
“I’ll let you know,” Zoro said. He was still watching you with those big brown eyes, and a soft shiver traced down your spine. “Thank you.”
“Thank you for saving me from that pirate earlier,” you said. You surveyed him again, though you were careful not to meet his eyes. A long silence filled the space, heavy with something you couldn’t quite place. You ducked your head, busying yourself with putting away the first aid kit. The words fell from your mouth before you could stop them— “I like your earrings.”
“Oh,” Zoro said. Nothing else.
You were pretty sure you liked more than the earrings. You liked the way he fought, even if it scared you sometimes—even if you knew one day he’d probably be able to beat your father. You liked his face; those big brown eyes, soulless at times but holding the world in those glistening irises at others. Those freckles, adorned with the entire galaxy, stars and planets and constellations dotting his cheeks like a mural of life. The way he talked, soft-spoken but utterly real, voice low in his throat, words disturbingly honest.
You didn’t say so, though. You stuck with the earrings, because those were safer.

HCs about a threesome between Fem S/O, Zoro, and Sanji! I just can’t help it! I could totally see S/O being the balance between the two!
Anon…this is the filthiest thing I’ve ever written. I hope you enjoy.
Character: female reader x Zoro & Sanji CW: Yeah this is just pure smut. Oral (giving and receiving), nipple play, double penetration, rough sex,  implied creampie, just all the fun stuff with a threesome.
Threesome
Zoro is a boob guy. And an ass guy. But that’s okay, because Sanji lives only to serve you.
Once the three of you are in a secluded place, Sanji immediately drops to his knees and pulls your shorts off, letting them pool around your ankles.
Zoro presses his chest against your back as his arms snake around and tug at the front of your shirt. You can feel his cock pressed against your ass, and a familiar knot forms in your stomach.
Sanji’s fingers move your lacy panties to the side, and he lets out a soft moan. “She’s already wet, mosshead.”
“I bet,” Zoro chuckles. He pinches your nipples and he pulls at them, causing you to moan and involuntarily lurch towards Sanji’s face.
Sanji wastes no time. He pulls your panties off and spreads your legs, instantly diving face first into your pussy.
Zoro continues to fondle your breasts, pinching and pulling, kneading and squeezing. Sanji’s tongue is masterful against you, and he easily slips one finger into your dripping wet cunt, and then a second.
Zoro peppers the nape of your neck in kisses while Sanji pumps his fingers in and out of you eagerly, his mouth lapping up every drop of your slick.
Between the two of them, it’s not long before you cum, your walls contracting around Sanji’s delicate fingers.
After you finish riding out your high on Sanji’s lips, Zoro and Sanji quickly derobe, and Zoro guides you down to your knees. Sanji’s about to let you sit on his face, but you offer to sit on his cock instead.
You carefully lower yourself onto Sanji’s perfect, slender cock in a reverse cowgirl position. You take a moment to properly adjust to his size, but Sanji always stretches you in just the right ways. He makes you feel full, but not uncomfortable.
Zoro’s girth is a bit more daunting, even though you’ve done this several times. He towers above you now, holding his cock. He doesn’t need to use words. You know he’s waiting for you to open your mouth, so he can shove his dick inside those pretty lips.
Sanji holds your hips steady, and you open your mouth for the swordsman. He shoves his cock into your mouth, instantly gagging you.
Zoro runs his hands through your hair as you bob your head up and down his shaft, letting out soft grunts of pleasure. Sometimes he’ll push your head and make you take all of him. Your gags make him smirk, which leads to Sanji yelling at him to be more gentle with you.
After Zoro has had enough fun, he’ll pull you off the ground (And Sanji’s cock-which always elicits a soft whine from you at his sudden absence).
Sanji takes the front, and Zoro takes the back. Together they hold you up, and carefully push both of their cocks into you. It’s painful at first, but it quickly melts into pleasure.
They don’t stop arguing. Ever. Even when you’re sandwiched between them, stuffed full of their cocks.
“I’m making her moan more. Did you hear that one?”
“No way mosshead, that one was definitely me!”
A part of you wants them to keep fighting, because they fuck better when they’re arguing like this.
The two of them try to time it so they cum along with you, all three of you hitting a synchronous high.
Sometimes Sanji will finish first though, and Zoro will take you to the bed and hook your ankles around his shoulders to get a deeper angle. Sanji will put your head in his lap and brush your hair from your face, whispering your praises while Zoro rails into you.
Zoro always waits for you to cum before he does. You suspect he’s got some kind of kink, because you orgasming around him never fails to make him cum along inside you.
After all of you have finished, the three of you collapse on your tiny bed from exhaustion. You sleep in between them, your head on Zoro's chest, your legs tangled with Sanji's.
Sometimes, after a while, Zoro will reach down and begin palming lazy circles against your clit, stimulating you and making you let out a series of whimpers.
“Stop that!” Sanji hisses, instantly coming to your defense. He knows you deserve rest after taking both of them.
“What,” Zoro taunts. “You done after one round? Because I’m not, and I know she’s not either.”

The yelling from outside the kitchen got louder, brook, Nami and Sanji were standing by the door ready for a fight while Chopper and Usopp kept you back, you knew something would go wrong but trusted your friends and boyfriends to deal with it. "Hay get back here you coward" Luffy's voice rings out in anger as the others seem to run around the ship someone stopping at the kitchen door "He took Shark Submerge III" Franky yelled form the other side of the door making your heart drop, he did escape and leave, in a way your happy he's not on the sunny anymore but now you have no idea where he is or if he'll come back. "What do we do?" you manage to speak up Sanji looking behind him to see your scared state, he walked over and pulls you into him "We'll find him, he won't hurt you again" The cook whispers rubbing your upper back. The door to the kitchen opens everyone jumping slightly while Brook almost pulls his sword out only stopping when he see's its Zoro, his face is full of anger and the sword at his side is held in a death like grip.
Nami sighs and puts her staff behind her back before turning to you "Do you know where he might have gone?" her voice is soft but you can tell she's worried. "Probably back home" you pull away from Sanji to look at the navigator then to Zoro "Lets go then, Luffy's ready for a fight and i want this guy dead" The swordsman's voice snarls, you can see he wants blood and revenge, Nami nods and runs off to find a log post that leads to your island while Usopp and Chopper walk out to help the others. Brook looks over at Zoro then to you which makes you a little nervous "Y/N, you never said what company he owns" he sounded concerned and you didn't know why "Urm... a biology robotics company" you shrug earning a nod from Brook "I have a feeling we'll be in for a fight when we get there then" he smiles before walking out the room leaving You, Sanji and Zoro inside. "So he's smart who the hell cares" Zoro groans after the skeleton walking towards you two. "Did i say something wrong?" you ask only for Sanji to pull you in closer and kiss your forehead "No of course not love" the cook whispers trying to comfort you. Zoro places a hand on your cheek looking down at you with a slightly angry expression, you know its not directed at you but you wish he didn't look at you like that. "It doesn't matter what he does, i won't let him touch you" You smile up at his words and place your hand on his leaning into his touch.
The island you arrived at wasn't too big but it was covered in houses other than an area to the east that was just trees as far as you could see, thats where your ex lived, away form everyone in a big fancy house. You were told to stay in the kitchen while the others worked on getting the ship fixed or getting ready to fight. Chopper stayed with you and he could tell by your bouncing leg that you were anxious, during the ride over you had time to think about everything but you were still torn between two desertions, either stay on the ship where its safe or go with your crew and end this once and for all. Franky, Usopp, Nami and Chopper where staying behind to fix up the ship and protect you while Luffy, Robin, Brook, Sanji and Zoro were heading out to the house in the woods. You finally stood Chopper grabbing your hand scared of what your going to do "I just want to see" you sigh looking down at the doctors concerned face "You should stay in here, where its safe" He tried to make you sit back down but you don't instead you pull away heading to the door.
Opening the kitchen door and stepping out with chopper at your heals your met with a sight worse than when you left. The houses were small but most of them looked disheveled, the streets where full of people either trying to do washing or sleeping on the hard cold floor. The market you once loved going too was no longer there instead there was a big metal factory blowing out dark smoke from the top. It made you sick and your mind went to your mother, you haven't thought about her safety in a long time but you hoped she ok. No matter how bad she made you feel you never wanted her to live like this. "What happened?" you whisper as chopper takes your hand looking from you to the island "So it wasn't always like this?" you nod trying to comprehend what your seeing "Y/n my love what are you doing out here" Sanji runs up the stairs and over to you taking your hand and walking you back into the kitchen, you don't stop him not really wanting to look at your home anymore. Chopper closes the door as you sit down Sanji kneeling in front of you "Please love just stay here" he begs making you look at him instead of the floor.
You sigh and place your hand on his cheek "Im sorry i just wanted to see but... thats not home, it was bad but never that bad" Sanji stands and places a kiss on your head as the door opens. "We're heading off" Zoro's voice calls out before walking over to you and Sanji "Please be safe" you stand up hugging the two "Please come back to me" your so scared of losing them, you know their strong and capable but your ex is crazy and out of control. "We will, i promise you" Sanji pulls away form your hug, his eyes move form yours to your lips, it's been so long since he kissed you there he wants to lean down and kiss you but the fear of rejection hold him back. You smile and run your hand across his cheek leaning up and lightly placing your lips on his, he doesn't hesitate to kiss back, its gentle but you can tell he's holding back so you give him the push he needs. Running your hand up into his hair you grip a little and lean closer while licking his lower lip, he shoves his tongue into your mouth as his hand goes behind your neck tilting your head back slightly, so he can kiss deeper. The cooks moan catches Zoro's attention pulling away to see you two kissing and soon pulling away form each other panting for air "I love you" Sanji smiles still breathless from a long needed kiss "I love you too honey"
You turn to Zoro with a smile managing to catch your breath "I love you hunk" your words bring a smile to the swordsman face as he leans into kiss your lips, placing light kisses over and over again "I love you baby" he whispers in between kisses before he fully connects his lips with yours, your other hand goes behind his head as his tongue slips into your mouth, his hand around you pulls you in tighter to his chest as you both kiss, his tongue frantically explores your mouth missing the feeling of your touch and kiss. Pulling away for air you try and catch your breath while he trails kisses along your jaw line and down your neck. "We won't be long" Sanji leans down placing a kiss on your cheek before pulling away along with Zoro who nods at you before leaving with Sanji "Chopper, Take good care of them" Zoro smiles down to the doctor who stands up straight and nods with an "AI".
The walk through the woods was along one but the cobble path they took made it easy to find their way to the house. It was massive, almost 4 floors and quite wide, It was surrounded by a high brick wall with some gaps between some of the bricks. The lights inside were on, and they could see someone standing in the big window facing them, Zoro's eyes locked onto him as he gripped his swords. About to run forward something heavy landed behind them, they didn't have time to turn and look when more large metal casings landed around them and across the open field in front of the house, the casings cracked open with dark steam coming from them turning into big bulky robots with yellow glowing eyes. Luffy's smile grew wider at the sight before him, he loved it but also wanted to break them. One of the robots pointed its fist at the captain before launching it at him, Luffy stood his ground and managed to stop the fist holding it in his hands as it stopped moving "Lets go" Luffy yells launching the fist back at the robot who falls back into the floor but it wasn't damaged, it just got back up and reattached its hands. The fight started but Zoro and Sanji were more focused on getting through the robots and making it to the house and Robin was more than happy to lend a hand to help them.
Kicking up into the air thanks to Robins hand, Sanji kicked through the air making it over the wall and to the house just as Zoro got through the robots and sliced the metal door down. Running across the lawn to the house Sanji raises his foot and kicks the door in raveling a very minimalist looking house with wide open spaces. The two stepped in only to be electrocuted, it didn't stop until Sanji managed to kick at one of the senses and Zoro sliced the ceiling where the electricity was coming from, they both pant from the pain spiking through the muscle, but they headed in any way, Sanji fixing his hair and placing a cigarette his mouth "Why don't you come out, I'd like a word" Sanji calls out lighting his cigarette and taking a puff. "I doubt you only want to talk" the mans voice echoed off the walls making it unclear where he was but Zoro closed his eye hoping to sense where the man is "Your right... i want you dead" the swordsman speaks with venom on his tongue "Don't bother swordsman, my technology protects me form your Haki" the man laughs only for Zoro to smiles and pulls his sword back before swinging at the kitchen, the slash sends a wave through it cause dishes and windows to break, a man yells out and a chair in the living room falls over.
Sanji jumps up and kicks down on the chair only for the person on it to move away just in time. They couldn't see him but Zoro managed to make out a slight aura, the same one he sensed around you all the time. Sanji pushes the chair away and stays on his guard unable to see or sense the man "You hurt my love and now your going to pay, so show yourself" the cooks words get more and more heated as he spoke "Fuck you two, they deserved it" The man yells out as metal spikes shoot out of the wall, Sanji just manages to dodge as one comes near his face while Zoro easily cuts through the spikes "I gave them a roof over their heads, i fed them and" Zoro swung his swords as Sanji joined him both managing to hit the guy, but he managed to get away again seeming to hide quite well even after being hit. "You abused them, you don't ever abuse a partner, you never make them feel worthless" Sanji yells out his face full of anger standing back-to-back with Zoro "They are worthless don't you get it, They lived in a rundown shack before they met me , Y/n should be at my feet" The man yells loud enough to give away his position, Zoro slices at air managing to hit your ex and cut his torso, he lost control of his devil fruit powers for a minute become visible as Sanji lite his foot on fire and kicked the man into the wall. "Don't you ever say their name" Zoro growls only for the man to start laughing.
Pulling out a needle your ex stabs it into his torso, the bleeding stopping and the wound being covered by something white and sticky. "I know i can't take you two in a fight but i'm sure they can" the man yells as the house starts to shake a little as Zoro slashes his swords at the man who turns invisible again and dodge to the side as the furniture around them changes turning into robots that attack them. Sanji bites hard on his cigarette before kicking the robots and melting whatever they are made out of but it doesn't stop them form coming at him, while Zoro keeps trying to go after your ex only for the robots or spikes to get in his way. "Get out of my way" Zoro yells in frustration, he wanted this man dead now, he wanted you to feel safe again.
The ticking clock was starting to get to you, it was the only sound in the quiet kitchen, Franky was still fixing the damage a makeshift bomb did to your shared room while Nami and Usopp were keeping look, Chopper sat next to you holding your hand, you could tell he was worried. "I've made up my mind" you finally speak getting the reindeer's attention as you let go of his hand and turn to him "You've been great Chopper and i know i don't deserve to ask for anything but i need help" You gulp kneeling on the floor to be eye level with the doctor "What?" Chopper looks at you confused not understanding what your talking about. "Zoro and Sanji are right, i'm strong and brave and no one not even my ex can take that away from me but i need to prove that to myself... i can't stay here being scared. If i can't fight by stuck up ex than how am i going to help Luffy become king of the pirates?" you ramble a bit but you hope he will understand "Y/N, what do you mean?" Chopper deep down knew what you wanted but didn't want to believe it, you take the doctors hands in yours with a small smile "I know the others will stop me so i need your help getting off the sunny, i can do the rest on my own" Chopper jumps a little in shock thinking it over for a minute "Please Chopper, i need to do this" you grip his hands a little more making him look you in the eyes, the fire and determination that have been gone for so long is back and Chopper can't help but nod squeezing your hands back.

“The train’s here! Get on the roof!”
Wide eyed, you and Usopp climbed up with Sanji, the rain still bearing down against the metal of the stranded cart.
The light in the distance was heading toward you fast, and panic climbed up your throat.
“H-How,” you stuttered as Usopp dropped his Sniper King voice to yell.
“They’re gonna hit us!”
You watched in horror as Sanji grabbed onto you and Usopp, and over the light of the train you saw green hair and a straw hat.
The three of you were grunting and screaming as Luffy’s arms stretched out, flinging you through the air toward him. You managed to catch a glimpse of Zoro as he used his three sword style to demolish the cart, clearing it from the tracks as the train sped on.
Sanji steadied you, helping you climb into the well lit cart.
A sweet, citrus scent wrapped around you as Nami pulled you close.
“You okay, noodle arms?”
Squeezing her with a laugh, your breath hitched when your swordsman climbed back in.
Nami stepped away, and you heard Sanji catching everyone up on what happened on the other train.
A rough hand grabbed yours and pulled you along, moving you past groups of people you didn’t recognize, until finding an empty cart.
“Zoro, wait, we need to go listen to the plan.”
You tugged at his hand, teary eyed, and trying not to fall apart.
His lips crashed onto yours, his hands cradling your face, and you sobbed against him. You were sure he was tasting salt as your tears flowed. Clinging to every part of him in reach, you let yourself melt into him.
Zoro was stroking your hair and your back, but he pulled away just enough to look at you.
There was so much in his eyes, and you felt everything bubbling under your skin.
But we don’t have time.
“Zoro,” you breathed, tears stinging.
He brought his hand back to your face, thumb tracing along your cheek. His voice was more like a warrior’s than a lover’s.
“I’m so sorry. We’re gonna do whatever it takes to get her back.”
“Thank you.”
You held onto his wrists as Robin’s voice filled your mind again, along with the hope of having Zoro’s strength beside you.
“It’s not for you, Needy. She’s part of our crew.”
You’d seen that look before, and you knew he meant it. The thought both comforted and terrified you as he led you back to the group, hands never leaving your body as you listened to the plan.
You were grateful for his warmth, and the pressure of his fingers on your skin, because they were the only thing holding you in place. Fighting the urge to slap yourself, you tried to focus on the plan, but it felt like your ears were ringing.
Digging your nails into your palm to keep you present, you learned that the new allies were the workers of Galley-La, the shipbuilder’s company of Water 7, as well as the Franky Family, who had so recently been your enemies. Even the old woman from the lighthouse, Kokoro, was here, driving the train through hell.
These strangers and ex enemies were now willing to lay down their lives to help you.
“Remember, if they take Robin through the Gates of Justice, it’s over. Any chance of a rescue is going to happen before they open,” Nami ordered as she reviewed the map provided by the blonde Gally-La worker, Paulie. “The Gates of Justice are at the back of the island, but first we need to get through the main gate, then the Tower of Justice.”
“That’s right,” Paulie affirmed, clearing his throat as he looked around at the crew.
“There’s only about 60 of us against at least 2,000 marines and government agents in there. We won’t stand a chance against CP9, so you guys need to focus on taking them out.”
Your body tensed, and you saw Nami’s eyes widen, but Luffy just nodded as Paulie went on.
“The rest of us will buy you time. Galley-La and the Franky Family are gonna split off now on Franky's boat. We’ll hit the front gate, and take out as many soldiers as we can. We’ll clear you a path, no matter what it takes. You Straw Hats leave the little guys to us.”
The nods from the strangers in the cart chilled your blood.
They’re going to get massacred charging in like that. Why are they doing this?
There was no way or time for you to ask as your allies started filing out.
“Alright, so we’ll hang back while they cause as much of a diversion as possible, then we’re slamming through the fence, right?”
You were surprised that your mouth was moving as you checked in, but Nami nodded, wrapping up the map.
She glanced around, lips pursed as she stood to look into the next cart.
Your allies were gone, and the crew were all here. All except for-
“Luffy,” Nami screamed as she stuck her head out of the window, looking toward the Franky Family’s large ship.
“Damn it,” Nami muttered. “He said he understood the plan.”
“He doesn’t seem like the type who can wait for five minutes,” Usopp observed, his Sniper King voice still booming while Zoro laughed.
“We should have known.”
You couldn’t tell if you wanted to punch or kiss Zoro as his laughter shook through his words.
“Let’s go watch for the fence,” he said as his laughter faded, tugging on your elbow. “It won’t be long now.”
Sanji gave you a soft smile as you passed, Zoro pulling you up to the roof again.
Dawn had brightened the sky, the storm finally passed. The change could be a blessing or a curse for your mission, but for now you were just happy you weren’t being rained on.
All that happiness died the second you caught sight of Enies Lobby.
It was still a ways off, but the train was moving quickly. The island of gray stone buildings and iron fences would have seemed domineering on its own if it wasn’t set against the Gates of Justice.
Enormous metal doors towered over the ocean, the symbol of the World Government reflecting in the morning light. The sight of it made you sick as you thought of everything that had happened to Robin because of that symbol. People wearing that mark with pride had destroyed an entire island, then hunted a child down to finish the job.
Rage shook through you, until Zoro pulled you to him. Then it was fear in your blood as everyone you loved was barreling toward the mouth of that wretched beast.
I’m done being afraid. I’m a Straw Hat pirate, I will not be a coward.
Pulling back from your swordsman, you took his hands in yours, and studied his face, memorizing every line.
He was your crewmate, your friend, your lover. Memories flooded through you of all your times together, and you fought the tears.
This is not goodbye.
“Zoro, I…”
The small crease between his brows distracted you as his thumbs traced along your hands.
“I’ve been wanting to tell you for a while. I was afraid. But that’s stupid.”
He frowned slightly, tilting his head while you rambled.
“I’m not saying this because of where we are, okay? I’m saying it because it’s true, and I want you to know.”
“Needy-”
“I love you, Zoro.”
Zoro let out a heavy breath, then pulled his eyes away from yours, looking toward the chaos you were about to be thrown into.
The beat of your heart felt louder than the train below you as you waited.
His face was drawn when he turned back to you, and you felt dissociated, part of you shouting soothing words through your mind that everything was okay, no matter what he said. Your hands felt clammy now as they still gripped his.
“I’m sorry, Needy.”
“N-No, it’s o-” you forced out, shaking your head too much.
He leaned toward you, sighing as he moved his hands along your arms, settling below your shoulders.
“Fuck, I. It’s not like that, I just… I didn’t think you could, Needy. Not with all of us.”
Your mouth fell open as you tried to process. Zoro squeezed your arms as he tilted his face closer, deep eyes searching yours, his voice almost too soft over the train.
“But you do, don’t you? You love Robin?”
“I do,” you breathed, barely audible over the engine, hands shaking as he nodded slowly.
“Probably the waiter too, huh?”
Your lips pulled tight before you could think, holding in a laugh of surprise at his reluctant question. He just looked down, shaking his head, and you felt all that fear again.
Zoro’s fingers trailed down your arms, and a small gasp escaped you as you waited for him to pull away.
But he took your hands, lifting them both to his lips to kiss your knuckles, and your knees almost buckled from relief.
The fence was getting closer and closer every second, but you couldn’t look away from him.
He closed his eyes, taking in another deep breath.
“I’m sorry I didn't trust you, Y/N. I’m not good at this shit.”
“I know.”
You let out a nervous giggle at how quickly you had responded, and he narrowed his eyes while a small, perfect smile teased his lips.
“Shut up, Needy,” he laughed, bringing his hand to cradle your chin, making your eyes flutter for a moment.
“I, uh… I love you too.”
In that moment you weren’t hurtling toward danger and death, you weren’t aching for your splintered crew.
You were just his, and the spark of happiness in his eyes warmed you to your core.
“I love you,” you almost screamed into his mouth as you pulled him down for a kiss. His laughter vibrated through his chest, wrapping you in a feeling of joy and safety.
But he pulled away, hands gripping your shoulders. His look froze you, the illusion of safety shattered by the tone in his voice.
“Get inside, tell everyone to hang onto something. Hurry!”
“What are you-”
“No time, Needy, hurry!”
Fighting against your need to keep touching him, keep looking at him, you scrambled to crawl back inside. Your mouth went dry when you saw the fence, and watched Zoro unsheathe his swords.
“Everyone hang onto something! Now!”
Clamping your eyes shut, your entire world was reduced to the screams of your crew, and the crashing and scraping cacophony of metal tearing through your mind, plunging you into chaos.
Into the mouth of the beast.

Big Brother
Pairing: Dad!Tae x Mom!OC
Genre: fluff
Word Count: 1k
Warnings: none
Summary: As Tae and Zelda greet their new arrival, there's a little boy who's even more excited than they are to meet the new baby.
Tumblr media
Tae had dropped Zoro off at Jin and Jasmine’s condo around noon.  Usually, he would’ve dropped him at Jungkook and Astrid’s, but they had their own newborn to handle at the moment, so the best option was just across the hall.
“Are you excited, Zoro?” Jasmine laughed as Zoro ran in circles around the living room.
“Yeahhh!  Is gonna be little baby!”
Zoro had been absolutely thrilled from the moment he’d found out he was going to be a big brother.  Most of what he’d talked about for months was the baby.  Baby, baby, baby.  He was so excited to have a baby in their home.
It was around six that evening when Jasmine was informed it was ok to bring Zoro up to the hospital.  The two-year-old bolted off the second they walked through the door, and Jasmine was glad she didn’t have to stop to ask someone where to go.
“Zoro!” Namu, Jasmine’s son yelled. “Don’t run, silly!”
Zoro was pouting when Jasmine picked him up, insisting that he couldn’t run off.  He wanted to see the baby already.  He was kicking his legs by the time they got up to the correct floor.
Jasmine set him down and let him run into the room once they’d reached it, and he was immediately trying to climb the bed.
“Whoa there, buddy.  Let’s not climb the bed,” Tae laughed, picking Zoro up.
Zoro whined. “Wanna see the baby!”
“You can see the baby,” Tae assured him. “Look, Mama’s holding her.”
Zoro’s mouth formed an ‘o’ as he stared down at his mom and baby sister.  He gasped.
“Do you want to hold her?” Zelda asked.
Zoro’s face lit up. “Yeah!”
Zelda had never seen such awe on a little child’s face like that of Zoro’s when he held Hyeon for the first time.  Eyes wide and mouth open in pure awe as he stared down at his newborn sister.
“Mama!” he whispered, clearly knowing that loud noises would startle the baby. “Heonie tiny!”
“Is she?” Zelda asked with a grin.
“Yeah,” he nodded.  He poked his finger into her cheek, making the tiny girl scrunch up her nose.  He grinned in delight. “She itty-bitty tiny baby.”
“Do you like her, Zor?” Tae asked.
Zoro nodded. “Can take her home?”
“Yep!  We get to take her home!  Isn’t that exciting?”
Zoro was grinning from ear to ear now. “Yeah!  Is ‘citing.”
◇◆◇◆◇
His excitement didn’t die even after they got home from the hospital.  He was her little protector, following her everywhere she went.  If Zelda handed her off to someone else to be held, Zoro would sit next to that person.  If Zelda put her in the baby swing, Zoro would stand in front of it and watch her swing.  When she was given a bath, Zoro would insist on helping, or at the very least watching.
To put it in simple words, he loved his little sister.  This was a delight to both of his parents, because when every only child gets a little sibling, the biggest worry is that they’ll feel abandoned or forgotten.  Zoro didn’t.  If anything, it seemed that he preferred the company of the tiny girl to even his parents at times.
Zelda laid Hyeon in the center of their bed, supported between two pillows so that she couldn’t roll off.  Not that she was even strong enough to do that, but better safe than sorry.  It was time to get ready for bed, and Tae was doing laundry in the other room, so this was the safest option while she got changed.
It seemed that Zoro sensed this, because he came running into the bedroom as fast as his little legs would allow him.  He was then using all of his strength to tug himself up onto the bed using the friction of the comforter against the mattress.
“I watch Heonie!”
“You want to watch her?” Zelda asked with a laugh from the closet door.
Zoro nodded emphatically, plopping down next to his sister once he’d reached the head of the bed.  She was pretty silent as always, preferring to suck on her pacifier rather than pitch a fit.  Zoro leaned over her, smiling as he did so.
“Hi, Heonie.”
This elicited a grin from the tiny girl, her pacifier falling out of her mouth in the meantime.
“Mama, Heonie smilin’!”
“Is she?” Zelda asked, pulling her pajama shirt over her head.
“Yeah,” Zoro bent down and kissed Hyeon’s cheek, making her coo.  He grinned. “Heonie cute.”
He settled down next to her, leaning his head against one of the pillows.  He reached out to pat her stomach.  Hyeon reached up to grab his hands with both of hers.
“Heonie, your hands soft,” Zoro giggled, wiggling his fingers.
“What’re you doing there?” Tae asked as he entered the bedroom.
“Heonie hold my hand.” Zoro was giggling again.
Hyeon was already dozing off at this point.  Tae came to lay beside the two of them in bed.
“Is it bedtime yet?” he asked, gently squeezing Zoro’s cheek.
“Noo…watch Heonie for Mama.”
“I can watch Heonie now.  How about you go to sleep?”
Zoro let out a low whine. “Wanna watch Heonie.”
Tae gave in with a chuckle. “Ok, how about you watch her while you fall asleep?”
He picked up Hyeon’s pacifier and rested it back in her mouth.  Then he tugged at the pillow that Zoro was resting on.
“Do you want me to move this so you can cuddle Hyeonie?”
Zoro smiled tiredly. “Yeah.  Wanna cuddle Heonie.”
“All right, I need you to get up, then.”
Hyeon let out a small whimper as Zoro’s hand slipped from her grasp.
“Heonie, don’t cry,” Zoro frowned as Tae moved the pillow.  He crawled to lay back beside her a few seconds later and settled his hand on her stomach again.
Hyeon grabbed ahold of his hand again.
“Think Heonie likes me,” Zoro giggled.
“Of course she likes you, silly,” Tae chuckled before poking Zoro’s cheek. “You’re her big brother.”
Zoro’s lips split into a huge grin at those words. “Yeah.”

TG. Venus Fun Fact: She has an Inferiority Complex
"And now, introducing our special model!" Venus feels her heart drop at her boyfriend Usopp's announcement after Brook. He can't be talking about her; she's not special. "A sexy girl that steals the hearts of all men!" Definitely not her. "Our brainy, curvaceous navigator... Nami!" She stays quiet, while the redhead struts down the staircase, as if she's hot shit.
"Nami-swan~!" She hears Sanji gush.
"Makes sense, seeing as I'm so refined!" Venus rolls her eye at that. How vain can you get?
"May I see your panties?!" She hears Brook's voice.
"Never!" She grows a small smirk through her oncoming tears, but it disappears again at the next announcement.
"Next, a mysterious and cool beauty!" That certainly didn't describe her either. "An archeologist who seeks the mysteries of history, and the user of the Hana Hana No Mi! Nico Robin!"
Robin walks down the stairs, and demonstrated her power. "I'll show you history with these hands."
"Robin-chwan, you're so cool~!" Sanji swoons.
Venus squeezes her hands together, as the cook is up next in his dominantly dark purple outfit. She isn't letting tears come out; not now. Through Franky's turn, she contemplates the idea of making herself scarce; she can't go out there, while on the verge of tears. Not after Nami and Robin were so bright and confident. Should she just leave?
As the urge to cry grows stronger, she then makes her decision. "Next up is a person... well, he's not really a person." During Chopper's turn, Venus tunes everyone out, as she discretely heads for the other side of the ship. She holds herself, as she walks, fighting her tears and quivering lips. She only hopes no one would notice her sudden absence; despite the show just being for fun, she just doesn't have the confidence to participate anymore. She isn't tall, or busty, or pretty like the navigator, and the archeologist. The show would surely be better without the homely witch wrecking it with merely her presence.
She enters her boyfriend's workshop branch office, and quietly shuts the door. She peers out the window, feels relieved when no one seemed to notice, then sits by the bench.
Little did she realize... she slipped away a little too early.
When she was out of earshot, the next model after Zoro was announced. "I know as presenter, I shouldn't play favorites," Usopp laments, hand over his heart, "It's not fair to everyone else, but... gah, I just can't help myself!" As he dramatically smacks the railing, the others have a strong feeling who was next. "Second to last, but certainly not least... the most beautiful witch I have ever seen! And trust me; I've met a lot!" He winks, gaining laughter from the others. "She longs to be the best at her craft, and I'm confident she will be someday! She's short, has long green hair, and a green eye that shines like an emerald in the sun!" They can almost see the hearts floating around his head at his corny, yet sweet description. "She hails from the city of the mermaids! She began gracing our lives in Loguetown! She puts others before herself, always! She supports all dreams! Oh, I'm such a lucky guy!" He swoons, hugging himself.
"Our adorable spellcaster, and the user of the Majo Majo no Mi! The dark, lovely, magical angel who stole my heart years ago! The love of my life: Tempeste... G... VENUUUUUS!!" He hams it up for her grand entrance... but she doesn't come out. He stays in his pose awkwardly; maybe she was spacing out, and not paying attention? "VENUUUUUS!!" He tries again after a few seconds, with just as much enthusiasm. Still nothing. "Venus?" Now confused, he peers in the room; he only sees Luffy, who glances around, then simply shrugs with a hum of obliviousness. Where was she? He frantically turns to the audience, as the captain bursts out. "She's not in there!"
"What?!" Everyone clamors over in concern. They don't get it; she was in there with them earlier! What changed?
"What happened to Venus-chwan?!" Sanji exclaims worriedly.
"We're not docked, so she couldn't have just left," Zoro points out.
"This ship's big; we should split up into groups to look for her," Nami proposes.
"Brilliant as always, Nami-swan~!"
"Split up!" Sanji, naturally, goes with Nami, to search the lower deck, alongside Franky and Brook, Luffy, Zoro, and Chopper scale the second floor, while Robin and Usopp join together to search the other side of the upper deck.
All the while, everyone calls out in concern for their missing crewmember.
"Venus! Where are you?!" - Nami.
"Venus-chwan!" - Sanji.
"Venus, it's your turn!" - Luffy.
"Venus, this better not be a prank!" - Zoro.
"Little sis! Please come out!" - Franky.
"Venus! You better not be dead!" - Robin.
"Venus! You're up!" - Chopper.
"Venus-san!" - Brook.
"Venus! Are you okay?! We're all worried about you!" - Usopp.
Robin peers into the window of the sniper's workshop, and spots a green-haired figure sitting with the face hidden behind the knees. She recognizes the blue outfit, and black gogo boots; Venus. "Usopp!" She alerts him. "She's in here!"
Usopp runs over like mad, and slows down to walk in with Robin. At closer inspection, they hear Venus sniffling, and notice her shoulders shaking. They can't see her face, but they can tell that she's crying. "Venus?" She kneels down in front of her, as Usopp silently gestures to everyone that she's been found. "What're you doing in here? It's your turn."
Venus shakes her head. "I'm not going."
"Why not?" As a surprised Robin asks, Usopp sits next to his girlfriend, and puts his arm around her shoulders.
"Because, I..." She trails off, and hugs her legs tighter, as her boyfriend's words from earlier ring through her mind. 'Special model. Sexy girl. Brainy. Curvaceous. Mysterious and cool beauty.' Anyone could see that she was none of those things.
"Because...?" Robin repeats patiently. By now, everyone is gathered outside the room; they're relieved that she's unharmed, but at the same time, are concerned about her sudden somberness.
"LOOK AT ME!!!" Venus' head shoots up, surprising everyone with her shout. She's a mess; her pale cheeks and small nose are flushed, the one marred with black mascara trails, and her eye is red. She takes a deep, shaky breath to calm herself. "'Cause... Robin, I'm not like you, or Nami."
"What do you mean?"
"I'm not tall like you guys, or cute. Or pretty. And I'm not..." She awkwardly gestures towards her rack. "B-big here, either."
"Well, not everyone is blessed with those things," Nami says without thinking it through. "We just got lucky."
As Venus stays quiet, and hides her face again, Usopp and Zoro turn to the navigator with death glares, while everyone else, sans Sanji and Luffy, give her disapproving looks. "Go keep the stage warm," Zoro orders sternly, and she walks off with bafflement, oblivious to the impact of her words.
"Venus, it doesn't matter if you're different," Robin assures, with a gentle hand on her knee, "Your unique traits make you who you are, and we all love you." She doesn't say anything, but she does lift her head back up, so her eye is above her leg. "Don't listen to Nami; she doesn't always think before speaking."
"Ain't that the truth," Usopp mumbles, as he rubs her back.
"And you think you're not cute? Of course you are; alongside Chopper, you're the cutest one here." Venus raises her head up more, and wipes her tears, leaving watered-down mascara on the back of her hand, and spreading it on her cheek. Robin frowns in concern. "You want me to get your makeup wipes? You're starting to smear a little, and it could get in your eye." Venus nods in slight embarrassment. "Okay, I'll be right back." After gently patting her knee, she straightens up, and heads to the bedroom she shares with the witch, and the navigator. "Let's leave them alone," She advises the others, and they file away to the stage.
When they're alone, Usopp rests his temple against his girlfriend's. "Robin's right, you know. You're amazing just as you are, V." She looks up at him silently, as tears keep welling up, and creating more dark lines. He lovingly strokes her ponytail, draped over her left shoulder. "It's why I fell for you; I love everything about you. You're sweet, adorable, and the most beautiful girl on the ship." She silently leans on his shoulder with a small sniffle. "Can you smile for me?" His heart breaks when she tries, but can't muster it up. "And uh, just because I said those things about Nami and Robin, doesn't mean I have feelings for them. Robin's more like a mother, or a big sister, and frankly... Nami scares me." He doesn't notice the tiny smile briefly growing, as he glances outside. "Here, I'll tell you a little secret." She looks up a little more. "Nami made me say "special model" about her," He confesses.
That doesn't surprise her in the slightest. "Figures."
"You know how she is. If it was up to me, I would've said it about you. Because I love you, and only you. You're my special model." When she grins up at him, he happily returns it. "There's that lovely smile." He turns his head, and kisses her hair. "Were you not able to hear my introduction for you earlier?" He asks curiously, just as Robin returns with the wipes.
"N-no," She mumbles in embarrassment.
"No? Well, he was practically singing praises about you. Close your eye, and keep your brow up." As Usopp holds his girlfriend's bangs up, Robin whips one out, and starts wiping her messy makeup away, along with her tears, with motherly gentleness. Her black moon beauty mark soon becomes visible. "You look a mess right now," She says delicately, "But you're starting to look better already."
"S-sorry I disappeared like that," She sniffles, "I just couldn't go out there like this."
"It's okay, Venus. Just don't scare us like that again; we all were very worried about you." She finishes wiping, and uses another on her hand where the dark smear is, as Usopp lowers his own hand; but not before quickly kissing her forehead. As stated earlier, Venus looks better than before, without the black smears. "Do you want to go participate? You'd be second last, right before the captain."
"You don't have to if you don't want to," Usopp adds. He knows he'll be disappointed at having to leave his beloved girlfriend out of the fun if she says no, but he wants to respect her decision simultaneously. He smiles when she nods. "Awesome. Do you need a minute, before we go?"
"Yeah."
"Do you want your makeup redone?" Robin offers. "Or would you rather go without it?"
"Um... without," Venus decides, snuggling up to her boyfriend.
"Okay then, I'll leave you two alone," She stands up, "See you on stage, Venus. Kill it up there." With the encouragement, she walks away to rejoin the others.
"With or without makeup, you're always beautiful." Usopp kisses her temple, as he tucks her shoulder-length, loose chunk of hair behind her ear.
"Thanks," Her shy smile grows. "Usopp?"
"Yes, darling?"
"Everything really does look good on you," She refers to his self-introduction. "You look amazing."
He chuckles bashfully. "Thanks, V. You do too." He leans in, and holds her cheeks, as they share a kiss for a few seconds. "You'll be the prettiest girl in the whole show."
"Thanks." She snuggles into his neck and shoulder. "The coolest and manliest is the presenter."
Usopp keeps his arms firm around her. "Only the best for you." He turns outside, where the others waited at the opposite side of the ship. "You ready to head over there?"
She nods. "Yeah." They stand up, and walk together, hand-in-hand.
-
Once she's ready to go, Usopp returns to the transponder snail he has for a mic. "Alriiiight! Let's try this again, folks!" Everyone watches with respectful silence, as he repeats his introduction for his girlfriend, word by word. Venus smiles widely, tears of joy now in her eye, as Luffy grins behind her.
"Don't run off again," He jokes and chuckles, as she giggles.
"I won't; no worries."
"The dark, lovely, magical angel who stole my heart years ago! The love of my life: Tempeste... G... VENUUUUUS!!" Usopp finishes.
Feeling a huge boost of confidence from the sweet introduction through Brook's jamming, Venus marches over, and walks down the staircase, as everyone cheers. She stands with her left hip out, her hand over her blue skirt, and produces an energy ball with her free hand, as everyone cheers enthusiastically. "I'll cast a spell on you."
"Venus-chwan, you're wonderful~!" Sanji gushes.
"Sorry, Sanji," Venus smiles with sympathy, "This witch is taken." She blows a kiss up to Usopp, who happily catches it. She walks all the way down, and joins the others for the finale.
"You were great up there," Robin praises.
"Yeah, you were super~!" Franky adds.
"Thanks, guys," She giggles shyly, then perks up when Brook plays more enthusiastically, "Ooh, here comes the last one!"
"And naturally, he'll be the one to close the show!" Usopp announces. "The user of the Gomu Gomu No Mi! The leader of the Straw Hat Crew!" Luffy twists his arms into spirals. "He wants to find the great treasure One Piece, and become the Pirate King!" He stretches his legs, and poses confidently with his slinky arms. "Monkey D. Luffy!"
He launches himself up to the top. "I will be the Pirate King!"
-
That night, after a long day of battling Marines, getting patched up, and retrieving a misplaced Zoro from Hand Island, the Straw Hats prepare to turn in for the night, with Franky on the first night watch shift. "Goodnight, little sis!" He calls out when he spots the young witch clad in a black nightgown.
She giggles, and waves. "Goodnight, big bro!"
Before she gets to the bedroom, a pair of arms wrap around her waist, greatly startling her. "OH!" She yelps, but relaxes when she spots the familiar, blue and white striped wristband. She feels his chin on her scalp. "You scared me," She laughs.
"What?! What scared you?!" Usopp pretends to shield her from an imaginary threat, and glances every which way cautiously. As he holds her closely, one of his arms is over her mouth. "I'll protect you, my angel."
She giggles, and gently pushes his arm off her face. "It was you who did, you goof," She jokes.
He chuckles, and rests his chin on her shoulder. "Wanna take turns pushing each other on the swing before bed?"
"I would love to, but I'm beat," She regretfully says, as she nuzzles her head on his, "Tomorrow, before lunch?"
"It's a date."
She smiles, and kisses his cheek. "I may had been sad about it at first, but the fashion show was fun."
"I'm glad you enjoyed it," He holds her closer, "And I'm sorry you felt so down about yourself."
"It's okay, it wasn't your fault."
"Well, if we do it again... you can go first."
She smiles, and nods. "Thanks. Sounds like a plan."
She lets out a big yawn, making him chuckle again. "Sounds like you should turn in, sleepyhead."
"I would be in bed by now, if you hadn't snuck up on me like that," She playfully chides him, as he soothingly pets her hair.
"You love being with me," He coos.
"I do," She giggles, adjusts herself, and pulls him in for a goodnight kiss, with her hands on his cheeks. "I love you, Usopp. Goodnight."
He smiles wider when she kisses his long nose. "I love you too, Venus. Sweet dreams."
He goes to give her a last one on her forehead, when a strong hand yanks him away. "Come on, loverboy," Zoro orders, "Less kissing, and more sleeping."
The couple pouts from their sudden separation, but go to turn in regardless.

Weird bad one piece mid 2000s au that goes form 6teen to NITW vibes and the time skip is the Ussop leaving for college and coming back to visit/earned his AA and is waiting to hear back from transfer programs.
Roger is like a small town legend — kind of guy who drove a tractor around town and blasted swedish pop music and might have grown his own pot and hangs around gas stations. Big deal when he was finally arrested and immediately kills himself
Hid some box of something somewhere in the woods, rumored to have a bunch of seedy bank accounts and illegal shit like baby chimpanzee bones
Rumored to have been one of the original investors in the slowly dying mall also rumored to have some crazy dirt on the local police and mall founder
Franky is some kooky school teacher overly invested in his field at a school everyone has given up on. Trying to get taken seriously and published in academia but really loves the kids.
Robin is a drifter-turned-local still not fully trusted by those old enough to remember when she first showed up and was really suspicious (in like a post runaway teen way). She used to be assistant manager at the Lacoste at the mall. She quit after the manager got arrested for assaulting a minor and tax fraud.
Chopper is both a normal but very smart little boy AND the name of a deer that follows Luffy around because he keeps feeding it.
Nami moves out of her dead mom–now–sister’s house the next town over and bums around with her manager Arlong until he is fired and she steals enough money for her own trailer
Zoro is some foster teen about to age out of the system whose been shuffled around enough that the system has basically lost track of him and his papers completely. “Ran away” from his last foster family to move in with two of his friends/brothers from the agency to rent an apartment. At least one of them is old enough to live alone but he never adopted Zoro or anything. Is haunted by the memory of his foster sister (daughter of his foster-father) who died while he was living in that home in a freak accident. Stayed there for a few more years until he was invited to move out.
Eventually his papers get tracked down and gets placed with one lady for a few weeks before she lets Zoro in on how he can get one of his older friends to do the paperwork to get him out. Hes like legally Robin’s responsibility for a couple months before he ages out of the system. He also gets really into owning a truck/van he fixed uo with his brothers.
Ussop legally has a father who ditched town before he was born but nobody wants him to inherit the house from his dead girlfriend so all the locals pitch in to hide the fact Ussop lives alone from officials. Stays with friends and neighbors a lot until he’s a little older and starts worrying more about potential squatters trying to take over the house. Also has a rich girlfriend whose family offers to hire someone to look over the house if he goes to college after graduating high school. Studies naval engineering and has a boat gifted to him by his girlfriend that’s kept at her family’s dock.
Sanji like Zoro is from out of town but moved in with his adoptive father and local restauranteur years ago. Shady past and rumors about why the adoption was so fast and how his father met him.
Luffy is a drop out who bounces around friends’ places. Has an older brother who left town in a car and is now super into this weird non profit. Has another brother (guy Ace brought home one day) who left to join the peace corps supposedly with Luffy’s father. His brother has an outstanding arson charge and arrest warrant fhat the non profit shields him from
Shanks used to smoke pot with Luffy when he was in high school but is now really into NFTs and crypto. He has a former roommate who manages Spencer’s Gifts at the mall.

King And Queen Of The Pirates
Bounty! Straw Hat Luffy And Aya Becomes Known To The World!,
Aya groaned as she opened her eyes. Her head felt like it was going to split in two. She felt like death. She sighed as she recalled what had happened. Defeating Arlong, the villagers threw a huge party in celebration, drinking and eating a lot of food, running away from Sanji when he asked her to dance with him. Aya blushed, mentally kicking herself. Why didn't she just dance with him! Why was she such a coward at these sorts of things!? Kissing Usopp. Aya's eyes widen as she remembered the feeling of his lips pressed against hers. Fireworks were booming and bursting in bright colors as they were thundering in the sky. Did it really happen or was it a dream? But it felt so real though.
Aya slowly sat up, in which she instantly regretted. She covered her mouth and quickly got up, slamming open the door, running outside on the deck. She saw Sanji in front of her. He smiled as soon as he saw her.
"There she is! Rise and shine, beautiful!"
"Outta the way!" Aya quickly pushed the lovesick forlorn cook to the side and ran over to the side of the ship. She hurled the last remaining contents from lasts nights party over the railings. She wiped her mouth with her hand. Why is it always carrots? She doesn't even like them. Aya heard footsteps approaching her and she turned her head to see Sanji placing a glass of water on the railing as he stood beside her.
"I'd figure that you would wake up like this. Here, this is the best thing for a hangover." He slid the glass over to her. Aya took it and drank a few sips, feeling the cool liquid wash down her throat.
"Thanks." She smiled, softly up at him.
"Don't mention it." Sanji replied and smiled back.
"Hey, Aya!" Aya jumped, startled, when she heard Usopp's voice. She looked down to see him waving back up at her. Aya slowly waved back, a little confused. Strange. He was a lot more outgoing than his usual self this morning. Normally, he was a lot more timid and soft spoken.
Usopp was sitting on the deck, working on some of his special pellets. Nami was getting the morning paper as one of Morgan's messenger seagulls flapped on board. Zoro was laying on the deck on his back, not too far away from the group. From the corner of her eye, Aya saw Luffy slowly creeping towards the tangerines, from Bellemere's orchard, that Nami had planted on top of the ship. Aya walked down the stairs, meeting up with the rest of the crew.
"Well, look who decide to finally wake up." Nami smiled.
"How long was I out?" Aya asked.
"It's already noon." Zoro replied. Aya's mouth dropped a little as she looked at him in surprise. She practically slept half the day away! She turned her head back to Usopp who was still tinkering with his equipment and walked over to him. Usopp tensed up as he heard her footsteps coming closer. Oh crap, what do I do?! What do I say to her!? Does she even remember what happened last night?!
"Hey, Usopp, whatcha working on?" Usopp blinked as he broke out of train of thoughts. His eyes widen as he saw Aya's face in front of his, leaning over him.
"Just some special technique stars." Usopp told her as he tried to focus anywhere but her eyes.
"Oh, okay, cool!" Aya smiled. Usopp felt his heart beating much more faster. Should he bring up that they kissed? No, definitely not in front of the others. That's too embarrassing. They would never let him live it down. But, why wasn't she saying anything about it? Aya blinked as she turned her head, looking at him confused. Usopp sighed when he realized that Aya didn't remember what had happen.
"Usopp, is there something wrong?" Aya asked, a little concerned when she saw his face drop a little. The sniper's eyes widen and he quickly looked at her.
"N-No! It's nothing really! I was just thinking of something really stupid. Don't worry about it!" Usopp tried to reassure her. Aya frowned, not believing him. He was hiding something. Did something really did happen last night and she didn't know about it?
"Usopp, tell me the truth. Last night, during the party, did something really happen? Was it a dream or did we really kiss-" Yes, we did. Is what he really wanted to tell her. Usopp's eyes widen, but before he could say anything Nami interrupted them. The two turned their heads looking at the navigator who had an angry scowl on her face, yelling at the messenger bird.
"You raised your prices again? That's a little steep, don't you think? Raise your prices again and I'll stop paying." Nami said, paying for the paper. The bird quickly nodded it's head and flew away.
"What's the big deal? It's just one paper." Usopp replied, ignoring Aya's question.
"Just one paper? I buy these every day." Nami told him.
"Yeah, but there's no need to save every last beli so you can buy back your village from Arlong, you know? You can finally stop obsessing about money." Usopp pointed out.
"You're so stupid! Now that all that stuff is over, I'm saving money for me now. I'm not going to become one of those pirates who can't even afford to dress out!" Nami shouted.
"Calm down, I'm in the middle of developing my special Tabasco star!" Usopp hissed.
"An eyeful of this will make any man cry." Just as he was to pour the hot sauce into the pellet, Luffy smacked into him making Usopp lose his concentration. The tabasco dropped into his eyes. Usopp screamed in pain. His felt like they were on fire, and he rolled around on the deck. Luffy sat up, pouting.
"Aw, come on! I just want one-" He whined.
"No! This is Nami's tangerine orchard and I won't let anyone lay a finger on it!" Sanji shouted. He turned to her smiling at her with hearts in his eyes. "Nami, can you see how well I'm protecting your trees!"
"Yes, you're doing very well." Nami smiled as she continued to read her paper.
"Sanji's getting used. That poor bastard." Zoro murmured.
"I only want one tangerine, just give it to me! You're so mean!" Luffy grumbled angrily.
"No!" The cook shouted back.
"The world's sure is a turbulent place. They just had another coup d'état in Vira." she read out loud.
As Nami was continuing to read the paper, two pages fell out of it and fell on the deck. Luffy looked down at the pages, wondering what they were.
"What's that?" He asked.
"WHAT?!" Everyone shouted all at once, in shock.
"Alright, guys! We're wanted criminals!" Luffy exclaimed, happily.
"Wanted dead or alive. $30,000,000 million belis?!" Usopp exclaimed.
"That's a whole lot of belis!" Luffy grinned, proudly.
"Check it out, I'll be seen all over the world!" Usopp smiled as he held up Luffy's wanted poster. Sanji rushed over to him.
"What?! They put long nose in but left me out!? Where are you? I don't see you anywhere, you're not there!" He shouted. Usopp chuckled as he pointed behind Luffy to show him standing behind him. It was the back of the sniper's head.
"It's the back of your head. It's not so great." Sanji grumbled.
"Aw, don't be so glum. You don't have to be a captain to get your picture on one of these things." Usopp replied. Sanji's eyes widen, surprised.
"Is that true?!" He shouted.
"Yeah, just work really hard!" Usopp said, while Sanji looked steamed by his remark.
"Hey, Aya's got one too!" Nami said as she held up Aya's wanted poster as well. Aya took it from her, looking at it. Everyone inched closer to get a better look as well.
"Hey, why do you have a high bounty than me?! It should be the same!" Luffy frowned.
"I guess you'll just have to work harder next time!" Aya laughed.
"There's more..." Zoro said, calmly.
Everyone saw that Aya's bounty which had $30,000,001. But, instead of dead or alive, it was marked alive.
"Alive? That's unusual." Nami murmured confused. "I wonder why."
"Hey, it's no big deal. I was a former Marine. They probably want to give me "fair trial" before sending me to the firing squad for execution." Aya explained. Usopp's eyes widen.
"F-Firing squad?!" He sputtered, nervously.
"Come to think of it, why did you join the Marines?" Sanji asked her.
"Yeah, we hardly anything about you or Luffy. Why did you choose different paths?" Nami asked as well.
"This is boring." Luffy walked away from the group, and hopped onto the ship's figurehead, staring out at the sea.
"Luffy, wait! We want to know!" Nami called out to the straw hat captain. But, he ignored her.
"Okay, okay, okay. If I tell you, will you get off my case about it." Aya said to the three crew mates. Nami, Zoro, and Usopp all nodded their heads, eagerly waiting to hear the two's backstory. Aya sighed. "As you know, Luffy and I didn't really have anyone growing up. Just Shanks and his crew and a few people on the island. We don't know if our parents are still alive or dead. But, I'm just going to assume that they're dead."
"Why's that?" Nami asked.
"Well, we've never heard anything from them. Never received any letters or visits. As far as I'm concerned, they're dead to me." Aya told them.
"So who decided who should be captain?" Sanji asked.
"We gambled on that with my pirate coin. Luffy betted on heads, I said tails. I lost, simple as that." Aya told him. The three mouths dropped a little in disbelief as they looked at her stunned. All this time, Aya could've been captain instead of Luffy? Fate was really strange, indeed.
"So, why did you join the Marines?" Usopp asked her.
"It wasn't by choice. I was forced to join. I only learned what I needed to know to survive out here. Just before my promotion, I used this as an distraction and took the chance to escape by jumping off the wall from the district that I was assigned at, stole a small rowboat and met up with Luffy a few days later. And here we are." Aya finished as she explained.
"Just how high were you in the ranks?" Nami asked her.
"It doesn't matter now." Aya replied.
"Fair enough, but is this going to be a problem later on? Do you still have ties with the Marines?" Zoro questioned her. Aya shook her head, looking at him.
"Like I said before, It was never my choice to join. I never wanted to begin with. So, no, I don't." she told him.
"If we're done. Let's go to the Grand Line!" Luffy shouted.
"Yet again you don't know how grim our situation really is! This means all of our lives will be in constant danger!" Nami shouted at him.
"Isn't it already?" Aya replied. Nami sighed.
"Okay, this is not time to be relaxing in the East Blue."
Zoro leaned back against the railings thinking to himself while the others were talking about on what to do next. $30,000,000 belis...with that amount I bet that headquarters has taken action. Not to mention that there will be bounty hunters to deal with.
Sanji headed towards the kitchen to start cooking up lunch. Zoro went back to take a nap, Nami was continuing to read her paper, Luffy, Ussop and Aya were talking together when Aya spotted a ship slowly sailing in front of them.
"Hey, doesn't that ship look familiar?" Aya asked. Luffy and Usopp both saw the ship with Marine sails as it sailed towards them at full speed. The ship was in rough shape. It had holes and rips on the sails.
"Looks like they've just came out of battle. That thing barely floats." Luffy replied.
"That's a real shame. Putting scrap ships in the sea." Usopp said as well. The group saw a familiar face as the Marine lieutenant Iron Fist Fullbody .
"This is not a scrap ship! Are you guys blind?! Have you forgotten the face of Iron Fist Fullbody!" The Marine shouted, furiously.
"Name doesn't ring a bell." Aya smirked. The Marine narrowed his eyes at her.
"You bitch."
"Oh yeah, you're that Marine guy from before! Are you stranded? Need some help?" Luffy asked, now realizing who he was.
"Quit fooling around. Our meeting spells the end for you! Monkey D. Luffy and Monkey D. Aya, you're under arrest!" The Marine shouted as he held up Luffy's and Aya's wanted posters.
"Yep, that's me alright!" Luffy grinned.
"And the back of my head!" Usopp add in as well.
"It says dead or alive," The Marine made a smug evil smirk.
"Yeah, but mine says alive." Aya replied.
"It doesn't say how much alive to bring you back." He remarked.
"You bastard." Aya gritted her teeth as she glared at him. She was already getting annoyed by this man.
"Now, take aim men!" Fullbody signaled his men to aim the cannons at the Merry.
"What's all that noise, huh?" Zoro murmured to himself as he woke up from his nap. He got up and headed over to the port side to see what was going on.
"I guess they're going to shoot." Luffy replied.
"They're aiming right at us!" Usopp screamed.
"I got this! Just leave to me!" Luffy grinned.
"Why don't you let me handle this, Luffy?" Zoro pushed Luffy away handing him to Usopp who then pulled the straw hat next to him, holding Luffy back.
"Yeah, relax. You just stay back here." The sniper replied.
"Whoa, hey!-" Luffy complained.
"Your story ends here!" The Lieutenant fired off a cannon at Zoro. The cannon ball was heading straight at him. Zoro pulled out his white sword and sliced it in half as it sailed to the other
side of the ship, and into the sea.
"Whoa, that's cool!" Luffy exclaimed.
"That was awesome!" Aya shouted, impressed.
"That's impossible!" The Marine stammered in shock. He stepped back. Sanji was in the kitchen when he heard the explosion coming from outside. He frowned as he stopped what he was doing.
"Damn it, what's all that commotion going on?" Sanji questioned. He headed towards the door and walked out.
"I was trying to take a nap." Zoro growled as he narrowed his eyes at the Marine lieutenant.
"There's lots more where that came from! FIRE!" Fullbody shouted.
"This is bad, real bad." Luffy replied.
"What's bad?!" Usopp said nervously as he stepped back. The cannon backfired and exploded as it tried to fire another cannon ball.
"The cannon had cracks on it." Luffy explained.
"Oh, that is bad." Usopp replied.
"You insolent little brats! Never mock a former Marine and Lieutenant! We'll just have to go hand to hand!" The Marine growled as he jumped off from the ship and landed on the Merry. "Men, follow me!" He ordered his soldiers, who also jumped off as well, following him.
"Your heads are mine!" Fullbody shouted as he tried to attack Luffy and Aya. The soldiers tried to attack them as well but Zoro and Usopp fought against them, keeping the soldiers away from the two twins.
"Gum Gum Barrel!" Luffy punched the Marine, knocking him back. Aya landed a hard punch in the lieutenant's face, sending him flying into the side of the ship. As the Marine was about to get up, his eyes widen as he saw Sanji standing over him with a dark glare in his eyes.
"You got a lot of balls, tough guy. Having a fight during lunch, I should kill you!" The cook shouted. "Unless you made a reservation, I'll have to ask you to leave."
"Y-YOU?!" Fullbody screamed as he crawled away from him. His soldiers ran away, defeated, seeing that they were overpowered. They jumped overboard from the Merry and Fullbody quickly followed after them, screaming in terror as well.
"Guess he's done." Sanji replied.
"He was all talk." Aya said.
"Come on you guys, can you keep it down? Honestly, I can't even sit and read a paper!" Nami shouted.
"Nami, Aya! I finished preparing you a delicious meal!" Sanji smiled as he ran over to the two girls.
"Ooh! I can't wait!" Nami squealed joyfully. Sanji turned to Aya. "I also made your favorite too, Aya. A strawberry parfait!"
"I can't wait!" Aya smiled.
"That sounds great! What about us?!" Luffy shouted.
The news of Luffy and Aya's bounties began to spread fast like wildfire all throughout the sea, reaching from island to island. On one particular island, two pirates were on lookout when they spotted something coming up on the shore.
"What's that?" One of them questioned.
"Let me see." The other took the telescope and looked into it. His eyes widen in fear seeing that it was Hawk-eye Mihawk. The two pirates backed away as the warlord approached them.
"Why are you here?! Answer me, Hawk Eye!" One of the pirates demanded.
"Just calm down. Where is your leader? My business is with him." Hawk-eye said, calmly. "Camping out on an island. What a carefree man."
Through the deep forest jungle of the island, was Red Haired Shanks and his crew. One of the lookouts scrambled towards them, falling in front of Shanks. The captain placed a mug filled with rum down for him and the crew member quickly gulped it down. "B-Boss!" He stammered as he pointed behind him. "H-Hawk Eye!"
Shanks looked up to see the Pirate warlord with the other lookout pirate, who backed away from him as Hawk-Eye walked over to him. Shanks smirked.
"Hey there, Hawk Eye. For what do I owe the pleasure? Have you come to fight me? Cause you know I'm not feeling so good at the moment."
"Now that you've lost your left arm, I have no intention of settling the score." Hawk-Eye said to him and pulled out the two wanted posters of Luffy and Aya, showing it to Shanks and his crew. "I recently bumped into a couple of interesting pirates. Seeing them reminded me of a story that you used to tell. A story about a boy and girl. Two strange kids from a small village? Sound familiar?" Shank's eyes widen in shock.
"N-No way!" Yasopp stammered, shocked to see Luffy's and Aya's poster as well. Then he saw the back of Usopp's head behind Luffy in the poster. "I don't believe it. Is that Usopp? My boy is with them!"
"Luffy, Aya, they made it." Shanks smiled. He looked up at the pirate warlord in front of him. "Alright then Hawk Eye, in that case I'm afraid I can't let you just leave not now."
"Hawk Eye, drink up! Go on! Tilt it back! It's a celebration!" The red-haired pirate urged Hawk-Eye to drink.
"Why are you hungover?" Hawk-Eye asked.
"Oh, n-no way! Not anymore! Drink, drink, drink! Drink it that's it!" Shanks brushed him off with his hand. He stood up and shouted at the top of his lungs. "EVERYBODY! LET'S GET DRUNK!"
"Yeah, but wait, boss. I thought you said that you felt like crap because you drank too much last night?" One of his crew members replied.
"Don't be stupid. I can't not drink on a joyous day, like today!" Shanks said, happily.
"But the sun's still high." Hawk-Eye said.
"Don't sweat it! Time to party!" Shanks shouted.
Back on the Going Merry, the Straw Hats were gathered around while Nami was looking at a map. "We're getting closer. We've almost made to the Grand Line. It looks like the only way into it is here. Through a verse mountain." Nami told them.
"What a pain. There's got to be some way around that thing." Zoro sighed.
"There's not. From what the geezer told me, that's the only place to enter it." Sanji pointed out.
"How come?" Usopp asked.
"Cause it's really dangerous." Sanji replied.
"Yeah, but how come?!" Usopp insisted.
"I told you everything that I know Geez!" Sanji shouted.
"See the reason-" Nami started to speak when Luffy interrupted her.
"Hey, I got an idea! Why don't we just sail straight into it!?" He grinned.
"Are you really that clueless?" Nami said to him in disbelief, frowning.
"My way's sounds a lot fun. Plus, it's feels way better to just dive right into it, ya know?" Luffy said.
"Ugh, talking to you drives me completely insane!" Nami shouted at him.
"First off, we need to stop at an island. Time to pick up some meat! Need meat!" Luffy shouted, ignoring her. Nami pointed on the map to an island not to far from where they were.
"There's a famous city on this island, known as Loguetown." She explained.
"Loguetown? Why is it famous? They got delicious meat?" Luffy asked.
"I'm pretty sure I've heard of it before." Zoro said. "It's the city of the beginning and the end."
"Loguetown is where the former king of the pirates, Gol D. Roger was born and killed at." Aya said. Everyone looked at her, quietly. Luffy's eyes widen in surprise.
"That's where the king of the pirates died?" He asked, thinking to himself.
"Well?" Nami asked him. Luffy smiled.
"Yeah, let's do it." He told them. "This was the man who had the one piece. Everything the world has to offer. I need to see where he was born and executed at."
As everyone went off to do their own thing, Aya quickly grabbed Usopp by his wrist, just before he left. "Hey, what are you-" Aya quickly slammed her hand on Usopp's mouth and she dragged him away leading him down into the crew cabin. It was much more quieter away from the others so they wouldn't hear them.
"Okay, now that we're along tell me the truth." She replied. Usopp shifted his gaze away from hers, fidgeting with his hands, nervously. "You've been acting strange all day. One minute you're much happier when you saw me then the next your withdrawn and twiddling your fingers . So, just spit it out."
Usopp looked back at her, looking into Aya's eyes. He gulped and took in a deep breath and slowly nodded his head. "We did." He replied, making a nervous sheepish smile on his face. Aya's eyes widen, and she felt her getting hotter. Usopp began to grow more nervous by her quietness.
"You don't have to say anything. If you don't want to talk about this, it's fine. We can just forget that it ever happened! I mean, you have better options, way better than me." He told her. Aya looked back at him.
"But what if I told you that I didn't want to?" Aya spoke to him. Usopp's eyes widened. "What if I told that you mean something to me." Usopp rubbed his head, thinking of what to say. Well, what could he say after that? After she just poured her heart out to him like that.
"oh, wow, um, I wasn't expecting that." He laughed softly and hummed to himself. He felt Aya take his hands, holding them in hers.
"If you want, we can see where this goes. I don't know what will happen, but I do know one thing, I like you." Aya told him. Both of their hearts were beating faster in each other's chest, like it was going to burst out.
"If you're fine with this. Then, okay, let's do it." Usopp told her. "We can still be friends if it doesn't work out, right?"
"Of course! Nothing is going to become between us!" Aya smiled. "Now, we just have to figure out how to break the news to the others."
"Do we really have to?" Usopp asked. "I think Sanji and Zoro already know that something is up between us. I don't want them to kick my ass over this."
"Well, everyone's going to find out eventually." Aya told him.
"True." Usopp sighed. "Let's just get this over with."
"Don't worry, I'll protect you." Aya teased him. She pulled Usopp with her as the two headed up to the deck.
In a dark dimly lit room illuminated by celestial stars and moon patterns, an old woman was sitting in a chair front of a table draped in a dark purple cloth with crystal ball sitting in the center. In front of her was Aya's wanted poster as she stared down at it, with an unnerving smirk. She made a low chuckle.
"I have a feeling that we'll be meeting very soon. I wonder how this is going to play out?"

I love the first date headcannons you did could I ask for a set over the roger crew?? Or even the straw hats??
OH FUN yes
Tumblr media
Brook - Dinner and a show! either a musical or classic music even a concert, he would let you choose which one you liked more. - The place he takes you would be fancy but his bad jokes would lower the tone, that's alright though because it would have felt stuffy otherwise. - He ends the night by driving you home/walking you home. - Kisses the back of your hand.
Tumblr media
Franky - Takes you to a drive in movie, in his fancy classic car. - Has brought in snacks, cola, just a few things that he thought you might like. - After the movie he takes you for a drive, windows down, wind in your hair, loud music blaring, down long forgotten country roads. - You'd park up, watch the stars together and listen to retro music. - He gives you a hug as a good bye, until you tell him he's being silly and kisses his cheek instead.
Tumblr media
jinbei - Aquarium, obviously. Gives you a nice tour, knows alot but never in a gross 'I know more' way. - Imparts wisdom, used to work at this one so you can help with live feedings and you are so in love with the activity. - Takes you for a meal in the early evening, maybe sit at a restaurant that's along the water, by the river or canal. - You just talk, vibe, he takes you for a drink maybe before getting you home safe. - A polite kiss on the cheek farewell.
Tumblr media
Luffy - AMUSEMENT PARK, ARCADE, LETS GO BOWLING, LETS DO EVERYTHING. - Chugs soda and eats pizza like you've never seen. Pizza hut is the perfect casual place for a first date. - Mini golf?? can we?? PLEASE?? - Throws his club over the fence, is bouncing off the walls. - I'm really good at DDR, wanna DDR? come on lets DDR! - Is awful but has fun doing it. - Friendly hug when the date is over.
Tumblr media
Nami - Can do whatever you want if you pay. - You need to spoil her. - She will judge how much you like her based on how much you spend. - If she really likes you and she asked you out? dinner, drinks, maybe go to a club for some dancing? - A smooch on the lips depending on how much she liked you, a cheek if just 'alright'
Tumblr media
Robin - Coffee, date, she loves going for coffee with someone she cares about. - Museums, art gallery, she doesn't even care if it's all free, she just wanted to chill with you, walk around, show you what she's into. - Build a bear, I know that seems odd but she'll love it. - More coffee before you head to a nice place to eat, doesn't need to be fancy, nice music and ambiance so you can talk. - Likes live music too, but needs to not be 'loud' - A gentle cheek kiss at the end of the night.
Tumblr media
Sanji - Fancy restaurant by the beach! maybe at sunset when you can watch it together as you drink a nice wine he said would pair perfect with the meal. - Nice conversation, good food. - You guys would walk along the beach together, romantic, soft, watching the stars. He lets you sit on his jacket so you can sit with him on the sand and watch the sea. - You both talk about your dreams and it's nice. - Kiss on the hand or cheek at the end.
Tumblr media
Usopp - He would take you to the zoo, you'd have lunch there, watch the animals, walk around. - He'd pretend he knew things. - Maybe if the zoo was too 'childish' for you he'd take you to an art gallery. - Maybe go and do pottery together! - Something hands on and arty. - Walk around, check out strange little shops together. - Comedy club in the evening with drinks. - very shy hand-holding on the way to drop you home.
Tumblr media
Zoro - Drinking! in the evening it would be a bar/pub crawl, live music or performances as he drinks and listens to you. - Maybe he'd take to see sports, if your into that sort of thing. - He doesn't mind doing psychical activities. - Get food, booze, be chill. - He just likes to get to know you. - martial arts torment?

For @elalmadelmar, who asked for a throwback to One Piece!
Nami has practically lived with Zoro since their freshman year of undergrad. In all that time, she's never seen him bring anyone home.
They met the very first week of their freshman year, Nami majoring in Geography, Meteorology and Climatology with the Natural Sciences department and Zoro majoring in Japanese with the Language and Cultural Studies department. She, being the enterprising sort that likes to think ahead, had marched herself right into her poor undergrad advisor’s office on her very first day on-campus and said, “What would make me an extra-appealing candidate to employers, post graduation?”
“Learning a second language can make you a particularly strong hire, especially with international organizations,” her advisor had told her.
Strolling into Intro to Japanese—101, not 103, which was for heritage speakers and clearly was where Zoro needed to be; no one had told him, but she’s happy to keep him here and mine him for help with homework—Nami had scoped out the biggest, meanest-looking fucker in that room and sought him out like a heat-seeking missile.
Piercings, tattoo sleeve, violently green hair; Zoro was perfect.
“Hello,” she had announced herself, dropping down into the uncomfortable plastic seat beside him all the way in the furthest back row of the lecture hall. “I’m Nami.”
He had looked at her out of the barest corner of his dark eyes and grunted, a true gentleman. Yeah, Nami remembers thinking, he’ll do just fine.
It was a tactic Bellemere had taught her that very first year Nami had entered the foster-care system under her roof. Whenever you’re scared or unsure, find the biggest, toughest, meanest son of a bitch you can find and be their best friend. It was advice that had served her well her whole life.
It’s easy, too easy, for people to fuck with Nami. She’s not very tall, not very strong, and has big tits and good looks. If that weren’t bad enough, she’s loud. She’s opinionated and mouthy and has a catastrophic temper. She has a hard time making genuine connections and men have only ever looked at her for one reason and one reason only.
“Zoro,” the guy had finally admitted after a beat of silence that Nami refused to let deter her.
“Zoro,” Nami had repeated dutifully, committing the name to memory. She handed him her phone. He stared at the marble and gold patterned case like it was going to bite him if he wasn’t careful. “Add yourself,” she demanded, and shoved the device at him such that he’d either have to take it or drop it.
He took it.
“Why,” he said. Said, not asked.
“Because we are going to be friends,” Nami informed him, arching a brow.
Zoro stared at her like she’d grown two heads. Then, he pulled a face—an ew face. Comical. Childish. It was incongruous with the general aura of “don’t fuck with me” he boasted.
“I’m gay,” he’d snapped.
Nami had just blinked, blue-screening entirely. It took her a moment to catch-up. She was wearing a low-cut top and a short skirt and sandals that were a bitch to walk around campus in but that made her look damn good and—
He thought she was hitting on him.
She tapped her nails—pale orange; she’d painted them herself last night while her roommate had complained about the smell—on the old desk. Someone had scribbled over it in pen so hard it had left little grooves behind.
“Great, so am I,” she replied. “Now put your phone number in. Are you any good at Japanese?”
Zoro gave her a look. “Are you asking me because I’m Asian,” he said, dryly—didn’t ask.
“I’m asking because we’re in fucking Japanese 101 and I want to know if my study-buddy is any good at the thing we’ll be studying.”
“Oh.” He put his number in and carefully passed her phone back. “Yeah.”
“Fuckin’ A.”
They’d been fast friends. They always sat together in class, Nami always brought him a coffee when she stopped for Starbucks, and sometimes he even went out to parties with her, whether they were at clubs that didn’t care to check IDs or at the Greek Life houses on Fraternity Row. He hated the frat parties the most, but he could drink like a fucking horse, and they quickly developed a bit where they pretended not to know each other and engaged the other in loud, public drinking competitions; everyone always bet on Zoro and no matter who won—sometimes it was Nami, sometimes it was Zoro—they split the winnings.
When her roommate, Alvida, was intolerable and brought the worst, sleaziest, creepiest, most disrespectful guys over without even giving Nami a warning, she went to Zoro’s dorm—a double he shared with a kind and bubbly engineering major named Usopp—and she slept in his bed while he slept on the floor.
When Alvida found out Nami was a lesbian and started harassing her, she stopped letting Zoro sleep on the floor and they shared his extra-long twin for the rest of the Fall and the Spring semesters. When she cried (because she was anxious, because she was lonely, because her loans are high and she needs to take out more and more each term just to afford her books and her software and her shitty dorm she can’t even sleep in because her roommate is a fucking homophobe that thinks Nami is secretly into her) Zoro never called attention to it, just held her and kept her from exploding completely.
She was distraught when he dropped out after their freshman year. Not distraught—she was livid.
He was her fucking person. He didn’t get to leave.
“My friend’s brother has a place for rent. Two bed, one bath. About twenty minutes away from campus by bus, like fifteen on bike. There’s a gym, around the corner,” he said when she had finally stopped scream-sobbing at him.
“A gym,” Nami had repeated, heaving for breath and face wet and red with tears. He was leaving her and he wasn’t allowed to do that. Not to her. And he's talking about a gym?
Zoro blushed. “A gym,” he said. “Martial arts.” Quieter, he said, “Kendo. There’s an opening for an instructor? I’m going to apply. For that... and the place.”
“Oh,” she said.
“I need a roommate.”
“Oh.” She buried her face in her hands, feeling all the fight drain out of her body. “Why didn’t you start with that?”
So they moved in together the summer that Zoro dropped out of his program and started working full-time at the gym. Their rhythms stayed the same—Nami studies while Zoro lifts weights, she brings him Starbucks if she gets herself one, they watch shitty movies and eat dinner on their secondhand couch, they go out to parties and race each other to drunken oblivion.
And in all that time, she’s never seen him bring anyone home. Not to his dorm, not to this place—their place.
But, as she gets home today and kicks off her shoes with violence, trudging heavily up the stairs to their unit, she hears voices.
It’s four-thirty on a Tuesday afternoon. Who the fuck is here but Zoro?
There’s a guy in the kitchen—blonde and pretty, sort of twink-ish. He’s standing at their stove, prodding at something that smells fucking amazing with their shitty Ikea spatula. Zoro sees her, standing there and staring at this strange creature in their kitchen, doing incredible things to their cookware.
Zoro turns tomato red from the tips of his pierced ears to the bottom of his feet, bare on the linoleum floor.
Nami grins.
“Hi!” She chirps. The twink startles. “My name is Nami and I’m Zoro’s best friend.” Zoro thunks his head down onto the countertop and makes a noise like he’s dying. Nami only grins wider, so wide it starts to hurt. “Tell me everything about yourself.”

7 Minutes in Heaven Arlong x Reader
You reached your hand in the hat that Nami shoved in your face. You sighed and reached in what you grabbed though it caused you to yelp and drop it on the floor. Teeth. Shark teeth. You paled lightly as Arlong grinned at you as he came by.
"You can have the teeth." He said. Walking into the closet, you saw Nami shudder and glare at him.
"He promised he wouldn't do anything rash," Jinbei said to you.
"And if he does, I will put him in his place."
"I will keep the door unlocked if you want (Y/N)," Nami said, and you nodded.
"Thanks." You said, leaving the teeth on the ground and walking into the closet. Once the door closed behind you, you were engulfed in darkness which caused your heart to race. You couldn't see where he was, which gave you the chills. You heard the stories about what he did to Nami and her island, and then you knew you would never like him.
"Are you scared of me, human?"
"Uhm.... kind of. You aren't exactly what I would call the best person to be in a closed-off area."
"Because I am a Fishman. A typical human." Along snarled.
"No, I wouldn't mind if I was here with Jinbei. It's because I trust him. I heard what you did."
"Shouldn't you forget the past?"
"No, you should forgive but never forget." You said and crossed your arms. You felt him stand behind you and place his hands on your hips, breathing in your ear.
"Well, I never did anything to you."
"But you did, Nami."
"Yes, but not you... Therefore you shouldn't judge me." He smirked, licking your neck, which caused a shiver to go down your spine. You gasped softly and attempted to pull away, but he held you close, pressing your backside against his front.
"Don't you think I should get a chance to play this game?"
"W-Well. I mean... I guess." You could feel his breath near your ear, and the hair's on your neck stood up. This Fishman was nothing like Jinbei or any other Fishman you met. He seemed much more dangerous, but you felt the need to let him have his fun for some reason.
"F-Fine j-just one kiss Arlong." You stuttered out, and he turned you around, pressing his lips to yours. Your face blushed a deep red as he pushed you against the wall before gripping your waist. Your arms wrapped around him as he pushed his tongue into your mouth. You had always lived a little on the dangerous side. You wanted in on it if it scared you, and kissing Arlong proved that. He moved the kisses down to your neck before licking and sinking his teeth into your neck. You let out a small scream, and with that, the door slammed open, and Jinbei punched Arlong in the head.
"I said don't do anything rash."
"Jinbei, don't be like that." He smirked at you as you held your neck as blood was now dripping. Nami called for the Chopper, and Chopper ran in carrying his medical kit and bandaged his neck.
"Well, now everyone knows she is mine." Your eyes widened, and Jinbei knocked Arlong out instantly.
"Sorry about that (Y/N)." Jinbei apologized, and you blushed, looking to the side heading back to Zoro, who touched your neck softly.
"Damn bastard, lucky I didn't cut him." Zoro glared at the past Arlong.
"I am fine, Zoro." You said, patting his arm, and he wrapped around you, offering you Sake.

Mihawk, Ace + Zoro And A Fem! S/O With A Mean Ex
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A/N : absolutely hope that this makes you feel better. I’ve never dated but I can’t imagine what that feels like ;-; I hope everything gets better and I’m so sorry this took so long to get out for you :(
Summary : these three boys and their reactions to your mean and crazy ex bothering you.
note : this seems like one of those emergency requests I’ve seen, so I wanted this out quickly but never got around to it :(
Warning : triggering scenes, harmful / harsh wording, etc.
Law, Shanks + Crocodile » Here!
-
Ace
Raging flames.
That is all that can be seen when a bystander passes the three of you in the streets on an island.
Ace is standing in front of you, keeping you behind him in a protective stance as his jaw and fists are clenched tightly, flames erupting from his body.
And the unconscious body of your ex lying down on the floor.
-
You and Ace were just exploring a new island the Whitebeard Pirates docked at, Marco picking up some medical supplies and a few others just seeing what they could find.
The two of you strayed off and stuck with each other to go sight-seeing, and unfortunately..
This happened to be the same island your ex lives.
And so when you two are walking and you hear an all too familiar voice, your blood runs cold.
“Well, well, well, if it isn’t little [Name]. Come back for more?”
Ace would be so confused and just glances back at the male who walks up behind you. “Do you know this guy, [Name]?”
“Who’s this? Your new boyfriend? Doesn’t look all that great to me.”
You bite down on your tongue to prevent yourself from saying anything but Ace can immediately sense something is wrong when he feels your grip on his hand tightening.
“Cat got your tongue? I bet you are speechless. You must be thinking to yourself, how you could go after some worthless guy like him and perhaps come back to me, begging me to take you back.” The condescending laugh is heard as he smirks at you.
Ace’s sharp glare is immediately sent to your ex and flames are slowly building with each passing second.
“If you do beg me, I may or may not consider it. It depends on how low you go down on your knees for me. But then again, I might have to reject you just so I can admire your horrendous face full of fear and sadness as you wallow in regret for—“
You were too busy looking down and feeling yourself shrink at his words to even notice Ace had pulled away from you.
And at a distance he stood, towering over your ex with pure hatred and anger burning in his eyes, with his fist in flames.
“Shut up. If you ever even look in [Name]’s direction again, I won’t hesitate to burn you to hell.”
Anger quickly subsided as Ace turns from the unconscious male and faces you with pure worry and concern.
“Hey, are you okay?”
All you could do was stare in shock, unable to process anything that happened as Ace takes your hands in his and brings it to his face.
“Don’t listen to a word he said, okay? Come on. Let’s go get some ice cream before heading back to the ship.”
-
Mihawk
“[Name]? What the hell are you doing here?”
The all too familiar voice makes your eyes widen out of its sockets, stopping you in your tracks from wandering the halls of Mariejois.
Turning back to face the one you least expected and absolutely dreaded most, color drained from your face when you finally came face to face to your ex.
“[Ex Name].. I didn’t realize you’re stationed here.. how are the other marines?” You try to make some light conversation but just wanted to eagerly run away.
The male only scoffs and rolls his eyes. “Better now that you’re gone, I’ll admit. Now why the hell are you here?”
“Actually..-“
“And why is that any of your business?”
Hearing the new voice cut in, your ex scoffs and turns to face the owner before his eyes widens.
“A warlord?! What are you doing out here? Whatever! Just get out of here, you pirate! This doesn’t concern you!”
Mihawk exhales quietly in disappointment, clearly becoming annoyed at the male’s loud and head-aching yells.
Making his way over to you, Mihawk gently grabs your hands in his. “Is this man bothering you, mi amor?”
Glancing to the shocked expression of your ex, you have a shy nod. “H-He’s my ex..” you mumble out, rubbing the back of your head as you grasp his hand tightly.
“I see.” Mihawk nods in understanding before closing his eyes and turned to face the marine, who was recovering from shock.
“Y-You?! Dating her?” He let out a dramatic scoff. “Of course you’d go after a pirate. It’s such a disappointment to see you stray from the Navy, [Name]. But whatever, you’re just— AGH!”
“That’s enough out of you now.”
Wielding his smallest sword, the mini cross that hung around his neck in a necklace, Mihawk gave one slice into the air before the loud cry of pain was heard.
Staring down at the fallen marine, he looks unimpressed at the lack of strength shown and how easily the marine fell from just a measly swing of his arm.
“Don’t you ever dare to utter a word or mind a thought about my [Name]. Otherwise I’ll have you buried six feet underground. Is that understood?”
Slipping his cross back together into his necklace, he turns over to your with his lips in a firm line but his expression softened in the slightest.
“Let’s go, my dear. We’re done here.”
Bringing his hand to the dip of your back, he began to guide you out of the large palace to head back to his castle and perhaps enjoy a nice evening together with some wine.
-
Zoro
Zoro may not be the smartest, but he certainly picks up on certain behavioral cues, especially yours after having been together for so long.
So when the Sunny is sailing the seas and come across another pirate ship, which causes Luffy to seek after them to converse and greet them.
At first, everything’s alright, the Pirates were somewhat friendly like the Straw Hats, until the Captain goes to board the Straw Hat ship, to personally greet each member.
But when the captain goes by you, his kind smile is immediately dropped to one of a frown of distaste. “[Name].”
You couldn’t even express how you felt. Shock? Misery? Pain? Disbelief? Were you usually this unlucky to have to come across your ex like this? How could you not recognize the Jolly Roger of the ship?
His next words seem to snap you back from your thoughts. “Blanking and zoning out once again. I see you haven’t changed much, [Name].” He tuts, shaking his head and turns away dramatically.
“It’s a shame you can never grow. Still the same old, same old. It’s truly a shame.”
Biting your lip, you look away and took a step back, ignoring him as the others watch with confusion.
“Eh? How do you know this guy, [Name]?” Nami asks, tilting her head.
Zoro, who was resting against the mast and listening to everything, opens his eye to glance at you. He clearly noticed your discomfort and pained expression, but withheld from doing anything.
His eyes only drifted to the cause of your discomfort.
The others weren’t too sure how to react, only sensing that something happened between the two of you. With the tension in the air, even Luffy could tell.
It wasn’t until his next words that something in them all snapped.
“Honestly, you’re better off having just stayed in your pathetic lonely life at your small island. This pirate life is not meant for you. After all,”
Eyes boring right into your soul, his stare pierced your body and his words pierced your heart.
“No one wants a pathetic and useless weakling around, right?”
Mere seconds later, the Captain, your ex, was knocked right into the railing of the ship, successfully denting the wood and breaking the pieces off with the amount of force brought into the impact.
Your ex was laying there, shifting in and out of consciousness and blood dripped from cuts over his body.
Zoro, with a hand gripping Shusui, was standing in front of the crew, no one even flinched at the movement but you. Your eyes were widened in shock, unable to say a word.
“I’ll have you know, [Name] is nothing like that. She’s grown, a hundred times stronger than you and I will make sure to kick your ass if I ever hear her name come out of your lips again.”
The other straw hats were all watching with heavy glares piercing the opposing pirate ship and specifically the Captain, each member getting ready to attack as needed.
“Get the hell off my ship, now.” Luffy demands, his voice cold, quiet and the most intimidating stare that would even make an Emperor tremble.
It didn’t take long for the opposing crew to pick up their captain and flee in a panic, especially when Luffy cracked his knuckles.
Releasing a small breath of relief you didn’t even know you were holding, you felt someone dragging you away from the deck and the crew, and you look up to find Zoro.
Finding that he was pulling you to the bedroom, he forces you over to the bed and then pulls you on top of him when he laid down.
“Just sleep with me. Forget everything he said and everything that happened.”
-
A/N : I hope you liked this, and I apologize you have to deal with that. So sorry this took so long.
I might allow emergency requests, it depends, I’ve never seen too much of it. I hope everything’s okay though.

The strawhats dont know that Jimbe shares the other half of Luffys scar.
Word Count: 2,239
The Straw Hats hadn’t expected it, even as they traced inked lines on newspapers, old and faded with time, watched the news and clips of Marineford, brought by an old enemy’s hands.
They knew their captain would be scarred – saw it in the newspaper, the way his face broke with his brother’s body in his arms, saw it in bloody bandages inked with 3D2Y.
They just –
They didn’t know it would be like this.
Luffy’s scar is a red thing, a bloody thing. It’s roughly healed, clearly gone without proper care beyond the initial wrap, and it lays directly over their captain’s chest. An X, cruel and digging into his skin.
(Legends state that Joyboy, the first adventurer, carved an X on to Raftel. That the poneglyphs are his signature, the X that marks all treasure.
Below this X lies their captain’s heart, burned and flayed by the first of a dog.
It is a treasure that should have never been marked.)
He wears it openly, proudly, as if this X was not in the same place of the wound that killed his brother, as if his hand did not reach up to scratch at it, rest on it, hold it when he stared at the horizon. They have had a day to get used to but still –
Still it is a shock, fresh and unwanted.
(Scars have meaning, and scars have purpose. Zoro has two on his ankles and one on his front, two earned in learning, and one in battle. Another is on his eye, a price paid for being a student who aims to take down his teacher. Nami has scars, covered by blue ink, scars that freed her, scars that saved her. Usopp has nicks on his hand, scars in odd places from trying to repair a dying ship, from fighting his captain.
Lessons learned, purposed gained, willingly, voluntarily.
Luffy’s is nothing like that. )
It stares at them, taunts them, bright and red, a reminder that they weren’t there when Luffy was always there for all of them, wasn’t there when he needed them most, as much as it is a reminder of how Luffy’s brother died in his arms, in a war that should have never been.
(Luffy has scars – he heals fast, but not enough to cover burns from molten gold or holes from warlord’s hooks. But nothing is as vibrant as this one.)
But –
Luffy is here.
Luffy is happy. He smiles, bright and fearless, even if there are new shadows in his eyes and more quiet moments then there used to be. He is still just as strong, stronger even, if more protective of his crew. He’s Luffy – their captain, and their future king.
They weren’t there for him, and he doesn’t care if they weren’t because he’s glad they’re safe but –
Jimbe! Luff cries with joy, when they set a course for fishman island, He saved me!
Someone was.
-
Fishman island is a bright, happy place. The sun shines even here, and now, with Hordy and Vander Decken gone, the people shine as well. Joyful, smiling faces against scales and skin, teeth sharp or smooth, are all directed to their princess – now revealed to them – and to the pirates that saved them. There’s cruelty in corners, but not here.
Not now.
(Children run along the sea floor in Straw Hats, calling out attack names and harboring no prejudice.
Later, years later, there will be legends about a man in a straw hat, and joy written on all their faces – cruelty nowhere to be found. A beginning is here – one of hope.)
Not with Luffy lying on Jimbe’s side, bandaged and with his crew surrounding him. The party thrown by King Neptune echoes dimly in the background, melding gently with the chattering of his crew around him. Zoro sleeping on the ground by Luffy, Chopper atop of him, Usopp and Sanji murmuring together as they eat, the rest of the crew standing around, gazing at their captain who has given so much for them – who has just returned to them.
(They move in groups, now, and when Luffy left the party to talk to Jimbe the rest of them followed. It’s been far too long since they’ve been together and they are reluctant to part from each other.
Never again, they whisper, never again.)
Jimbe is new to them but not, there when they weren’t. He’s comfortable with Luffy, even if he is surprised when Luffy slumps against his side, curling under his arm to sleep away his injuries. There’s a terrible sort of fondness on his face as he looks at their Captain, one they all know is reflected on their own faces.
Luffy – he saves people. More than just in body, but in spirit, taking their dreams and shouldering them on his own until they are strong enough to carry themselves. Selfishly selfless, forcing people to rise and chase what every pirate holds dear.
A dream.
Jimbe hasn’t said his yet, but he’ll get there if Luffy has to drag him there kicking and screaming like he’s done the rest of them.
Though… his eyes hold nothing but devotion as he stares at the Straw Hat’s captain, so it’s more than likely he’ll just follow Luffy.
All the way to Raftel.
Luffy utters a quiet snore, burrowing close into Jimbe, bandages falling and revealing a reddened scar, and suddenly the Straw Hats find themselves with a purpose here.
But like in all things, Luffy is the one to make the first move. The way he has tugged on Jimbe’s kimono, has pulled it to the side, displaying the tattoo of the Sun Pirates, red and vibrant and –
A mass of scar tissue, burned and dark against blue scales, in the same shape as their captain’s.
It’s like the world goes quiet as Jimbe readjusts.
Like another weight has been added to the shoulders of those who love Straw Hat Luffy but weren’t there when he needed them most. Like chains, like nails down the throat, a horrible, awful realization that at Marineford, it hadn’t just been Ace who took a hit for their captain.
Jimbe had too.
He doesn’t talk about it, doesn’t seem to notice the way every Straw Hat has paled or gone wide eyed or slacked jawed (for those without visible skin or eyes.) He just quietly adjusts Luffy, hand ghosting over the scar on his chest, and settles back down.
Nami swallows, throat sick. “Jimbe?” She asks, knowing that he’ll answer her if no one else. “You were at Marineford, right?”
(Even in his sleep, slumbering away, Luffy winces at the name.)
Jimbe is quiet for a beat, then – “Aye. And Impel Down.”
“And afterwards,” Robin says smoothly, eyes bright with the knowledge of a historian who scoured every source for information about her captain.
Jimbe nods. “And afterwards, until Rayleigh took over.”
Everything. He was here for everything.
“Then...” Nami swallows and blinks back her tears. “You were with Luffy when A-“ His name feels forbidden. Taboo. “When his brother died.”
“Aye.” Jimbe’s words are soft as he lays a hand on Luffy’s shoulder, gently calming him from the twist his face takes, even asleep. “I was.”
Nami wants to ask what happens. She wants to know, wants to hold her captain, wants to say It’s okay, wants to know what hurt him so he will never hurt again, and Jimbe can give her these answers but –
The past doesn’t matter aboard their ship of dreams. Luffy had not listened to her story, not until she wanted to tell him herself. He had freed her from her chains, took her by the hand and led her to the horizon that she could map all her own.
Her throat closes up when she thinks about trying to learn his hurts, when he knew not to bother her own.
She can’t do that.
She can’t.
Instead, she lets her lips remain loyally closed as she watches the way Jimbe cradles their captain, as if he was the most precious thing he could think of.
(And really this man – who had conquered gods and armies and kings, yet still smiled so gently at his nakama and the sea breeze – he is.)
But Jimbe speaks anyway, and it’s not a betrayal of loyalty because he was there, when none of them were.
“I knew Ace, before Marineford.” They all hide flinches at the name. Jimbe gives them a somber gaze, and moves on. “We battled, before he joined Whitebeard’s crew and afterwards were friends. I refused to fight in Marineford for his sake, and was instead bound in Impel down, in the same cell as him. There… he told me about his little brother.” His gaze, impossibly, turns even softer. “He would just chatter on… smiling, in the face of death, as he told me about how reckless this boy was. How foolish. How loyal.” He tilts his head back up to the sky then. “He asked me to take care of his little brother.”
Nami’s heart stops. Usopp gasps. Sanji drops his plate. Chopper starts crying. Zoro’s eyes flash open for the first time.
(Under the hot sun of Alabasta, on a ship aboard a river, a man with freckles and a smile had asked, A little brother like that makes a big brother worry - Take care of him for me, okay?
They failed.)
“I failed,” Jimbe says, simply, but his words are draped in pain and agony, as his hand rises to his chest again, in a similar motion to what their captain has done, several times since they have reunited. “And that can never be forgiven.”
“But you were there,” Robin says, just as simple, her voice cracking. “And you saved our captain – didn’t you?”
Jimbe’s hand loosens its hold. “Ace had just died. We were running from Akainu and… I was holding Luffy. My own body was not enough to shield him – I failed-“
“Stop.” Zoro’s words silence the room, accept for Luffy, snoring gently into Jimbe’s side. “You were there, Jimbe.” He gets on to his knees, sword laying across his slap as Chopper is pushed to the side. “We were not. Thank you, for saving him.”
And then – Zoro, future world’s greatest swordsman, the pirate hunter, the demon – he bows, low to the ground, in a gesture of thanks.
It is brief, and quick, but Nami follows instantly, folding over in thanks as the rest of the crew does the same.
This is their crewmate – their future crewmate, from what he told Luffy – who was there when they were not, and took a blow for Luffy straight through his chest that would have otherwise been fatal.
Without Jimbe, their captain would not have had a chance to live.
What is a moment, bowed over, to something as insurmountable as that?
“I – please, do not bow to me!” Jimbe rushes to say, stuttering, eyes wide when Nami looks out. One hand is held out while the other, always protective, lays around Luffy’s shoulder. “It was my duty to do so, my responsibility, same as any of you. Luffy – he’s the man who will become King of the Pirates. To follow him is enough thanks.” His words ring loud. Ring true.
This is the man Luffy wanted on his crew for two years.
Nami can see why.
His faith – the faith that moves seas, moves mountains, changes the world, the faith in one straw hatted man – that’s the faith of all her crew,
She wasn’t sure about Jimbe.
(He had been the cause of so much of her pain – but he didn’t choose to hurt her. He would never, now.)
She is now.
Zoro, ever the leader, ever the loyal first mate, looks up and settles back down. It reminds Nami so much of Water 7, except here their entire crew is present, and here, they will not be fractured ever again.
(She will make sure that happens – by any means necessary.)
“It is our responsibility.” Zoro acknowledges. “We grew stronger over these past few years, on our captain’s orders – did you?”
His single eye pierces Jimbe, and Nami can see him swallow. But he stares back, unafraid, a true helmsman always following the course.
“Aye,” Jimbe says, and the tension is shattered by Luffy turning entirely over in his sleep, shirt shifting to display his scar, but his face entirely peaceful.
They ease back into their conversations, debts settled, crewmates thanked and now equals. It’ll be a few minutes before Luffy is up, running for adventure with them following on his heels but for now –
Now, the savior of their captains rests easy with Luffy by his side, and everything is okay.
(Later, months later, after Wano and after Whole Cake and after Emperors, Nami will see Luffy sit up at night as they all camp out in the aquarium. He will clutch his chest, and curl in on himself, deadly quiet and pale. His fingers will dig in, and dig in, and dig in, and all Nami will do is watch until –
Jimbe sits up and catches Luffy’s hand in his own, his other mirroring Luffy’s position and clutching at his own scar. He will say breathe, and Luffy will breathe, and –
Their captain will be strong, surrounded by those who were not there, and smiling, if dimly, at the one who was.
And, for once, matching scars won’t hurt as bad.)

Hi! I love your works! 71 + 72 for Luffy and Jinbei?
PROMPTS LIST
71. “I’m going to protect you.”
smile again
x
As a watchdog journalist, Jinbei's work takes him everywhere. He isn't always in the best position to receive phone calls. Sometimes, depending on what story his group decides to chase after and what far-flung corner of the world it leads them to, Jinbei goes weeks without internet access.
By the time he gets news of the accident, Luffy has been out of the hospital for a month and Ace has been dead just as long.
Jinbei has to go home.
His colleagues-- a group of solid, hard-working people he's known for going on twenty years, has worked with on the field and off, in smoke and fire and claustrophobic office spaces-- are entirely understanding.
Tiger drives him to a small airport, the truck bouncing along a bumpy gravel road. There's a single, hastily-packed duffel in the bed of the pickup. Jinbei isn't even sure what he shoved in there, having only made one mindless pass through his room. He would have left without his passport if Hatchan hadn't shoved it into his hands on his way out the door.
"It may be time for me to retire," Jinbei says aloud. His mind is ebbing and rising like a tide, a vast ocean of grief. Thoughts go bobbing away like loose buoys before he can get a grasp on them.
All he can think of is the last video-call he made home, over a month ago now. Ace and Luffy, pressed cheek-to-cheek so they'd both fit in-frame, competitive in all things and unwilling to take turns, even as Jinbei laughingly promised he had plenty of time to talk.
They made him promise to call again soon. He meant to.
"Don't worry about us over here," Tiger says. His eyes are on the road, hands tight around the steering wheel. He carries Jinbei's grief like it's his own. "Just worry about your boy."
His boy, Jinbei thinks. Not by blood or by law, certainly, but by something less quantifiable than that. Those scrappy kids that spilled into his yard one muggy summer evening, hiding in the hedges from their well-antagonized CPS caseworker and somehow claiming a piece of Jinbei's heart from the moment he first laid eyes on them.
Ace was so angry back then, and Luffy was so easily frightened, and they clung to each other in a practiced way, as if they were so used to the world trying to claw them apart that they didn't expect anything else, even from a perfect stranger. They didn't seem to know what to do with kindness. Ace watched Jinbei like a hawk for weeks, long after Luffy warmed up to him. His trust, when he finally gave it, felt like a prize.
Jinbei was working long, unpredictable hours, and knew it wouldn't be fair to drag two children into his household if he couldn't afford them the time and care they deserved-- but after school? Weekends? Holidays? Those he gave up freely.
His days gained some semblance of routine again, for the fist time since he finished college. His kitchenware came down from the cupboard, the pockmarked kitchen table was often set for three. He made dinner at home, more than he ate in the office with his colleagues.
Hell, his colleagues ate dinner with him at home more often, too. Within an hour of meeting the boys, each of Jinbei's friends, to a man, would have taken a bullet for either of them, no questions asked.
The sense of structure did wonders for the brothers. With a safe place to return to when they needed it, and someone to fall back on, Ace stopped looking at every potential foster home as if it was a threat. Luffy came out of his shell, bolder with each new day. He made a friend in the village, a boy with vivid green eyes, and they hardly spent a moment apart.
They were finally placed with a couple who lived nearby. Shanks was wry and good-natured, and Benn had the patience of a saint. After a few weeks, when Jinbei asked how they were settling in, his worries were soothed: Luffy clearly adored them, and even Ace grudgingly admitted they weren't so bad.
And when the time came, and Ace applied for emancipation as well as custody of his brother, he had a small army in his corner. A patchwork family collected in little bits and pieces, ready to support him through anything.
"I will always be here for you both," Jinbei had promised him, countless times. "You'll never be alone as long as I'm alive."
"Thank you," Ace said, a little bashful. But he was so pleased, and so full of hope for the future, and he said, "I'll feel better, knowing someone's around to look after Luffy if I can't."
He immediately got shouted down by his entire strange extended pseudo-family for daring to suggest they'd ever let anything happen to him, and it made him laugh so brightly, and now the memory sticks like needles in Jinbei's throat.
Tiger hugs him hard before Jinbei boards the plane. In the back of his mind, where there is a tiny corner free from drowning, Jinbei can't help but wonder when he'll see his friend again.
He keeps thinking of that last video call. He can't remember everything they talked about. He doesn't think he said enough. He almost certainly didn't tell Ace everything he deserved to hear. Foolishly, he assumed there would be another time.
He's learned from this. He won't take it for granted any more.
"Call me when you land," Tiger says. "Give the monkey our love."
"I will," Jinbei replies. His heart is so heavy he doesn't know how he manages the steps onto the plane. He doesn't know how the pilot manages to lift them up from the tarmac. It's a wonder they aren't sinking, straight through the earth.
Nami and Usopp are waiting for him at the airport, wide-awake even though it's well past two o'clock in the morning. They're familiar to Jinbei from the stories Luffy has told him, from the numerous video calls they've bullied their way into over the years, and the handful of birthdays and holidays Jinbei was able to make it home for.
"Luffy wanted to come with us to pick you up, but he fell asleep," Usopp says, apropos of nothing, as they're waiting for their Uber. "Sanji said it was a small miracle, and Zoro looked like he was going to hunt us for sport if we even thought about waking him up, so--"
"He hasn't been sleeping, then?" Jinbei asks quietly.
"After he came home, he was on some pretty heavy meds, and he slept a lot," Nami says. Her arms are folded tight against her chest in the nighttime chill, her eyes trained somewhere far away. "But he had bad dreams and he would wake up disoriented. Now he fights sleep tooth and nail."
"We've all sort of become the insomnia squad," Usopp pipes up. "Thank god I'm not taking any classes this summer."
"Sanji's gotten really good at making lattes," Nami adds with a small smile. "Wait till you see his shiny new espresso machine."
"I'm like eight-five percent sure he stole it from the Baratie."
Jinbei listens to their chatter, feeling at once anchored by them and adrift at sea. It makes sense that they would be ahead of him. They've been here all this time, practically from the moment of the accident, facing it with all the bravery and endurance of sailors in a typhoon. Jinbei, meanwhile, had been living in an unchanged world.
For the last month, Ace has been dead. How many times had Jinbei thought about him? Mentioned him to a friend? How many times had Jinbei wrongly said his name in the present-tense?
The house is warmly-lit when they arrive, but quiet. An old blue Irish wolfhound greets them at the door, wagging his tail. Robin looks up from the papers she has spread out on the coffee table and smiles. Chopper is fast asleep beside her, his head on her shoulder. Behind them, Jinbei can see Sanji at work in the kitchen, shaping dough. Something is baking that smells of cinnamon and apples.
They weren't kidding about their sleep schedules being a mess.
"Hello, Jinbei. It's good to see you," Robin says. Her voice is soft, in deference to the sleeping teenager. "Luffy is asleep, but you can see him if you like."
"Please," Jinbei replies hoarsely.
"I'll take him," Nami says. "Usopp, would you bring his bag to the guest bedroom?"
"'Course," Usopp replies, but he makes a detour into the kitchen first.
Nami takes Jinbei's hand and leads him toward the stairs. "I feel really stupid about this, but I was so angry at you," she admits as they make their way up. "It's hardly the first time we haven't been able to contact you, and I know why that is. But-- I don't know, I think I was going crazy. I wanted Luffy to have everything he wanted. I wanted everyone who loved him to be here every time he woke up. So I-- so there might be some angry emails waiting for you, but please don't hate me for it."
"I won't even read them," Jinbei promises gravely, his heart cleaved clean in two. "I can't imagine how-- how hard it must have been. I-- if I had gotten the messages sooner-- "
"I know," Nami assures him, pausing outside a closed bedroom door. "Franky spoke to you like six hours ago, and you're already here. You dropped everything to be here. We know the kind of person you are."
She stands up on tiptoe to kiss his cheek, and Jinbei bends to accommodate her, the same way he does for Koala. Then Nami reaches out and pushes open the door.
Zoro is awake, sitting against the headboard with his phone in hand and earphones in, and his eyes are as bright and sharp now as they were when he was a child. He looks up when the door opens, and seems to relax when he sees Jinbei stepping in behind Nami.
"Go to sleep," Nami whispers, pointing at the second bed across the spacious room.
"Don't tell me what to do," Zoro replies, just as quiet, but he pulls his earphones out and extracts himself from the bed with all the exacting precision of a bomb disposal technician. Nami takes him by the arm, helping him get up so carefully that the mattress hardly moves. It's such a well-practiced maneuver that Jinbei thinks he honestly might cry.
"If one of you would stay for a bit, I'll grab a shower," Zoro says.
"Sure, stinky," Nami says, nudging him toward the door. "Jinbei?"
He nods, unsure of what he's agreeing to. Now that he's finally next to Luffy, nothing else seems to exist. He sinks into the chair beside the bed, only half-aware of Nami and Zoro leaving. Their murmured conversation is cut off by the closing door. The room is silent, save for the gentle, unobtrusive sound of Luffy's steady breathing.
He's lost weight since Jinbei saw him last. There are shadows on his face that don't belong there. He looks both older and younger than he has any right to, even now, when his face is untroubled and slack with sleep.
"Hello, little monkey," Jinbei says. His voice is quiet, but it still breaks. He's crying, he realizes, thick tears rolling down his face with abandon. "I'm sorry it took me so long."
He thinks of two little boys, spilling into his life on accident, taking up room in his home and his heart as if they always belonged there. They weren't his, not really, but he loved them anyway. Loves them still.
"I'm here now," he whispers. His hands are shaking. "I'm going to protect you, like I promised. I'm here, Ace. Please believe me, wherever you are. I won't fail you again."

One Piece Chapter 1040 - Initial Thoughts
Tumblr media
Well lordy
One Piece has kept in the thick of things as Law and Kid continue to give their last against Big Mom
But there are still some pressing matters to cover, we'll see if Oda does it this chapter
Spoilers for the Chapter, Support the Official Release too!
Cover story shows that Niji and Yonji were smacked around by Big Mom, they don't seem too let down by it
Back to where we left off and Big Mom is tanking Kid's glock attack
Despite being pinned down, she activates the Soul Pocus, 50 years or live in slavery, Life or Slave
The Soul Pocus doesn't affect Kid or Law, but the spectators are losing theirs
Law and Kid are standing their ground though, Law whipping out another Awakened power: R-Room
R-Room is a homage to Corazon, since when it engulfs BM it's complete silence
I dunno what the offensive properties are for this, but silenced by Law, Kid gives her another shot of his attack, while Law bisects Mother's Misery
R-Room is however helping the duo by making Big Mom unable to call for her Homies, causing her to crash down to the basement with Yamato
Foolishly though, she grabs one of the bombs, setting it off!
Yamato uses their DF to shield the others from the blast so we're spared disaster
But the Kazenbo now has gotten smaller, as if it's petering out after one exploded
With the damage from the bomb too, Big Mom plummets to the floor, in her mind cursing Roger for starting this era
Oda you can't just skip a chapter with Zoro staring down a Grim Reaper then return to him face down on the floor! And the disturbed ground is gonna throw him someplace else now, someone needs to get that guy a doctor and give us some answers!
As BM holds out hope that the One Piece is real, lamenting that Roger never told the world what precisely it is, Raizo outlasts Fukurokuju in the flaming battle
Down in the pit caused by Law's attack last chapter, BM seems to stare down at another attack waiting for her at the bottom, cursing their names and claiming this won't be enough to kill her
The Victory Card calls Kid and Law the winners though, can't take that away from them they goddamn did it
But seriously we are like right next to the Flower Capital someone must be seeing this!
Law and Kid also need the doctors too, they are spent
Back to Yamato and the explosion has allowed a window to chat with Momo, noting that they've frozen the whole armory now to avoid it exploding
Momo though informs Yamato that Zunesha is coming, which is definitely a big deal
But then Oda drops us with a pre-break bombshell: Zunesha was Joy Boy's companion!
Man, Oda keeps doing it doesn't he?
But he also keeps delaying answers to pressing questions with other unrelated and newly pressing questions...
Kid and Law got the surprise W, mostly by keeping BM away and silenced, which does leave Perospero, Hera and Prometheus in a bit of a bind. But this is definitely big news that Morgans will wanna hear.
Still though, the Zoro stuff still eats at me, I want to know Oda why are you depriving me!? If it's so people speculate he's dead then I'm not buying.
It's a minor shame we didn't let the Ninja battle end spectacularly, it was more just a battle of outlasting the other, but maybe there's a little more left in that
And this Zunesha stuff is of course the latest intrigue, does this mean Joy Boy is a part of Zunesha's crime, or did Zunesha betray Joy Boy? It does feel like Wano is the place we're gonna learn a lot about Joy Boy, but now there's not too many fights left.
A finale beckons.
