the little things they do — luffy, zoro, nami, usopp & sanji.
Tumblr media
summary: what do they do that makes you tick? that makes your heart glide through your chest and fester at your throat? that makes you glissade through hell itself, for the pleasure that it brings?
warnings: slight tension but no nsfw, fluff, nothing too bad!
notes: i started binge watching op / opla recently and decided to give i a go at writing for them! literally could not stop my fingers from typing this out. i’m a little new to op, so i hope you enjoy nonetheless :-] i promise im working on another part of college melodrama! i just wanted to try something new to get the brain juices flowing <3
Tumblr media
sanji — moves you by your waist
sanji is keen with his women, but with you, he’s even more so. he’s gentle with it, even if he doesn’t need to be, because you make him aberrantly nervous, yet vilely confident in his etiquette — and today just cements it. it’s a boring day, and that prompts you to keep yourself stationed in the kitchen, where the rest of the straw hats find their own circles to situate themselves in (pure boredom, much to sanji’s dismay). the space is overcrowding and you’re halfway into disputing something that luffy insists is true fact, when sanji’s mellow palms come to gripe gently, carefully, at your waist — “excuse me, beautiful,” he mouths, fiendish and close to tasting his teeth in a marvellous grin as he effortlessly moves you, gingerly in so many ways, so he can reach the cabinet. you stutter out some convoluted version of a yes, o-of course! … safe to say, you can barely pay much consideration to luffy’s rebuttal as the tepedity of the cook’s hands lay in repetitive, illusive strokes against your hips for more times than one to just consider it an act to retrieve spices from a cabinet.
zoro — has one hand in your back pocket
he’s silent, mischievous with his antics. the upper part of your brain warns you of his skepticism, his cruelly hard body, his thick cheek. but your heart buds violently under what you can only assume is his effect. and it’s only furthered, when you are too close to him for comfort in this mini-party the crew has going on atop the going merry. you spot him nodding off in the corner of your eye, barely even knowing of his current footing in his chair as he slumps off. you urge him to go to bed, to ditch the drinks and gain a full night’s rest. but he shakes his head stiffly, his rather large hand slinking into the back pocket of your pants, where it lays dormant and so, so close to squeezing. “stay. this way, i won’t lose you.” you fail to yelp, because every nerve has been short-wired. twisted. re-twisted. re-wired. you can only stand close, fluxing against the warmth of his palm in your back pocket, as the faintest of reds colour his cheeks. a smile is welcome.
luffy — hugs your waist
being a captain is luffy’s share of the burden that comes with his quest of finding the one piece. he swears its easier than he allows it, but his body is different on days like these. days when he’s laying, tired and inaccessible to his usual bouts of energy. days like these, you can’t navigate around his lethargy, that comes slow and unmoving, similar to his resolve. his arms are around you, tight and interlocking further like a snake, his face buried against your stomach as he uses you as a stationary pillow. and you try to remind him that there are things you need to resume, things you need to conduct on the going merry, but when you turn to move, excuse yourself, he tightens, and his nose brushes against the sensitive skin beneath your button up in a nimble attempt to get you to stay still. “mmm… five—no, ten more minutes… i promise.”
nami — rests her head in the crook of your neck
it’s not an easy job sorting the day’s itinerary into tidy, little boxes and shelves, whilst the boat rocks to a cathartic beat around you. nami is here, to help you, but you are unable to shake off the tension wearing you down. your skin feels like paper and the bottom side of your shoes are sticky with sea water and your hands feel like rubber. you could rival luffy. it makes you feel awful, gets you hot and antsy so quickly, that nami blinks twice. of course, you apologise. you always have. but nami gets the directive before you do, and she reaches forward to hug you close to her chest. her nose tickles your neck and the space is living with her breath — the crook of your neck. “how about we stay like this for a bit, hm?” it’s more for your own means to find ground amongst your frustrations, to help you calm down, but nami has always loved being close to you. she always has.
usopp — holds you close to protect you
the great captain usopp. mighty warrior of the sea. well, not the great when the sea is colliding into rows of wood at maximum speed, which rocks the entire great vessel. you try to be less of a deterrence, try to find your own standing in the room you’re in with usopp, but your body is thrown across the room in one fell swoop, where you meet halfway into usopp’s chest. there’s a messy string of syllables that leave your lips, a creaky apology as you try to maintain some space between you (for the sake of your enervated heart), but he’s quicker. an ability derived from his sharp-shooter skills, you’re sure. his arm wraps around your waist and he allows you to crowd his chest. allows you to hold him like a pillar against the raging sea when it sends a rather alarming rock to the ship. “hold on tight — you’ve got nothing to worry about with captain usopp here. you hear?”

against the mirror – Zoro NSFW
Tumblr media
characters: zoro roronoa x fem!reader
praising & degrading | smut | 18+ only – MDNI
word count: 4k
She sighed for the umpteenth time today, sometimes it was really boring on the sea. Sure it was her life dream to be on the grand line but at what cost? Y/N groaned, hoping something would just help her feel less bored.
After what seems like million years, she decided to climb up to the crow’s nest in hopes she’d see Zoro - the man was cold and rude but she couldn’t help but be charmed by him.
Pulling herself up, she goes inside only to find him exercising vigorously. A blush crept on her cheeks at the sight before her. No matter how many times she’d seen him workout, something about it was just so attractive. Maybe it was the grunts he made whilst lifting his weights?
“Hey Zoro.”
He glanced at her and quickly looked away, eyes darting around the place. It was just plain awkward for him, he didn’t like the feeling of being watched. His nose flared up and he glared at her..
“What do you want.”
He spoke, his voice was rude and cold, he didn’t enjoy small talk and he was more interested in working out rather than small talking with her.
“Why do you have to be so rude?” She replied blankly before making her way to the smaller weights. She wasn’t planning on working out but it felt like she needed an excuse to be up here with him. Gosh, she was such a simp she thought. She couldn’t help it though, the man was practically crafted by the heavens themselves. Why was he so muscular in all the right places? His cold attitude was also something that she couldn’t help but be attracted to… what was wrong with her?
“I don’t have time for small talk and pointless gossip that will go nowhere.”
He spoke again before glaring at her. He hated it when people just popped up for no reason, he had his own way of life. Though his eyes followed her, as she grabbed onto the weights. He was thinking things that weren’t so appropriate, his gaze drifted on her before looking away, he didn’t want her to think he was weird.
“Yeah? You always think you’re better than the rest of us don’t you?” She rolled her eyes and started doing squats with the weights in her hands, slowly feeling the burn.
He was about to snap back, but he didn’t. He noticed her starting to squat, he watched her thighs flex and contract as she did so. He was caught in a trance, a trance he didn’t want to be in, he hated getting caught in moments like these where he’s just mesmerised by her thighs.
She cocked her head back to look at him, wondering why he hadn't said anything back. They usually had a heated back and forth for some reason, it's not that she couldn't stand him, it's that she had to be mean to him otherwise she'd end up ruining their so called friendship by acting on her desires. It was just easier to be annoying.
"What are you looking at?" She raised a brow in amusement, she wasn't an idiot. She knew he was checking her out.
He coughed a bit, her thighs- her thighs just- they were- he looked away for a moment before he replied.
“Your form is off.”
He spoke, his voice was raspy and his cheeks were so flushed. His eyes were fixated on her legs, he couldn’t look away. She was just so thick…especially from her squatting. He tried to pull his eyes away to no avail.
She smirked a little at his weak excuse but didn't call him out on it, it was fun watching him writhe in awkwardness. "Yeah? Why don't you show me how to do it properly then?”
He cleared his throat and got up from the bench, walking up to her.
“Fine, turn around and stand in front of me.”
He spoke, his voice was smooth and quiet. His gaze landed on her ass as she turned around, he caught himself and cursed under his breath.
She eyed him curiously and shrugged, what is the worst that could happen? If she was lucky, she might feel his touch every now and then. Standing up straight, she pressed her back against him.
He leaned in close, his breath hitting her neck causing her body warm up at his non existent touch. He moved quickly, his arms wrapping around her waist and pushing her down slightly with the weight.
“Spread your legs out a bit more, your knees are too close together..”
He explained, his voice was calm but tone he spoke in sent shocks down her spine.
“L-like this?” She couldn’t help but feel nervous but excited at his closeness, this wasn’t usual for them. Sure when they sparred, they’d get in each other’s faces but it was never like this.
He nodded, his warmth coming back as she adjusted. His voice was soft and gentle now, it was the first time she’d seen him like this. Why did he have to act so distant yet so hot? His face was now by her side, slightly tilted as he watched her in the mirror in front of them.
Before he spoke, his hand slid down her thighs, gaze never leaving her as he kept pushing her down with extra strength.
“That’s right…now lift up slowly.”
She stared back shyly at him in the mirror, eyes locked in as she followed his instructions.
This was new to him and it showed, he had never been this close to her before, never had she listened to him this way. She was obedient and didn’t say a word, he noticed this and couldn’t help but notice how good she looked.
“Good girl…”
Was all he could say, his hand slowly slid up towards her hips. He looked towards the mirror and saw how good she looked, his voice sounded deeper and more…seductive?
She gasped a little at his praise. That seemed out of character for him, she had only ever heard him hurl insults at her, granted she did the same to him but this was different, hearing him praise her wanted her to be more obedient, she wanted more.
He noticed her gasping, his voice was almost a whisper now, he leaned in closer, making sure she could catch on to his words. He was glad she was following his every command, he got closer to her ear and his breath brushed against her, the heat almost felt real..He had to suppress his urges for her.
“…Now bring it back down.”
He spoke softly, his words were warm and inviting, he was glad she was following his every command so obediently.
She blushed deeper and did what she was told, grazing her ass against his crotch very lightly. Hey, you couldn’t fault the girl for trying, it was clear that he was attracted to her by this point. If he didn’t want to do anything, he could just move away she thought.
His breath caught in his throat when she grazed herself against his crotch, that sensation, the sensation of her curves against him was so good he didn’t want her to lift up just yet. Though he didn’t say anything, instead he spoke again, his voice sounded raspy and slightly panting.
“Good girl…now put it down-“
He tried to say, the way she felt against him was so…good. He wanted to praise her over and over again.
She bent over and put the weights down slowly, making sure to take her time in doing so.
He inhaled sharply as he saw her bending over, his breath hitched up, his body and face flushed up. His gaze followed her, her hair fell down to her back and her well-toned ass was on display.
“Are you okay, your breathing is all over the place. Didn’t know your stamina was so low.” She grinned slightly, feeling a bit victorious at how she made him feel.
His breath quickened a bit as he shot her a glare, his cheeks slightly flared up pink.
“Shut up, I’m fine, I just haven’t-“
He paused, he stopped talking, he wasn’t going to tell her that she made him extremely nervous or that he liked just having her near him. His breathing and heart was still all over the place, he was so irritated to be like this. When did he become so soft and unconfident, and in front of her of all people.
“Haven’t what?” She clicked her tongue and as if on cue, her grin widened. After all it wasn’t everyday that the swordsman blushed like this.
She really was a pain in the ass. She wasn’t going to let it slide. He was getting annoyed but he didn’t want to show it, he knew he looked like an idiot if he lost his cool in front of her, what difference would he have to the lovesick cook if he gave into his urges? Though he had to admit the sight of her grinning was somewhat…cute?
“I said nothing, so shut up.”
She sighed and looked defeated. This man was stubborn, she knew her attempt for any progress in their situation would be futile but showing interest and then barking at her to shut up was worse somehow.
“Alright.” She pursed her lips and grabbed her towel to wipe her sweat off before getting ready to leave.
He huffed, feeling a surge of guilt hit him. Why did he act like this, he was acting like complete dick to her. He just didn’t want to seem weak in front of her, yet he already did. Why did he act like this…? He didn’t want to lose an obvious opportunity to get close to her.
“Stay, we aren’t finished.”
He spoke sternly, she looked like she was about to leave and he didn’t want her to do that without him being able to make it better.
She raised her brow and shot him an incredulous look, “What do you mean?”
He cleared his throat and thought of a lie, he had to say something…anything to make her stay, or else she will take this the wrong way.
“Your form was way off earlier, it was sloppy… so I wanted you to stay a little longer so we can fix the mistake. It’s important that you don’t hurt yourself when you’re training.”
He spoke softly, his lips were twitching and he couldn’t look her in the eyes. He was hoping she didn’t see past it and stayed.
She looked away from him and nodded, “Fine if I must.”
Zoro watched as she turned back around, his eyes scanning her body and his mind racing. She was beautiful, even with the sweat and fatigue, she still managed to look stunning.
She rolled her eyes and walked back in front of the mirror before picking up the weights and started squatting again.
He observed her movements closely, trying to find flaws in her form. His heart raced as he noticed how well she managed to hide her irritation or annoyance towards him.
“Well? Any pointers?”
"Hmm," he hummed, focusing on her form. "You're leaning too much on your right leg. Try to distribute your weight evenly between both legs." He took a deep breath, trying to maintain the cold demeanor he'd adopted earlier.
He hesitated for a moment, knowing that if he stepped closer, their bodies would be even closer. Finally, he moved behind her, placing his hands gently on her hips to adjust her stance. His touch was firm yet gentle, causing her heart rate to increase slightly.
She glanced at his reflection in the mirror, he looked extremely attractive. His muscles were toned and there was still sweat glistening his skin from whatever previous workout he did.
As she felt his touch, Zoro could sense her warmth seeping through his skin. He tried to focus on her squat, not allowing himself to be distracted by the way she made him feel. "There," he said, correcting her stance. "Now try again."
She squatted again after what seemed like eternity, “Like this?”
His eyes flickered towards her ass before quickly snapping back to her face. "Yes, that's better," he said, trying to regain his composure. "Now maintain this position while lifting weights."
“Alright..” she bent over to pick up the weights and shot him a look.
Zoro swallowed hard as he watched her bend over, her breasts practically spilling out of her top. He forced himself to look away, focusing on the weights she was about to lift.
She squatted again, this time with the weights.
Zoro watched as she lifted the weights, his heart racing in his chest. He couldn’t help but be impressed by her strength and determination. His eyes were drawn to her ass once more, and he couldn't resist any longer. ‘Fuck it’ he thought before he stepped closer, his hardened member pressing against her lower back.
"You're doing great," he murmured, his voice thick with desire. "Just a bit more."
She gasped slightly, feeling him harden against her and did another rep. Zoro's breath caught in his throat as she lifted the weights. He couldn't believe how aroused he was, but he forced himself to keep going.
"That's it," he whispered, his voice hoarse with need. "You're so close."
She felt the tension course through the room by the second, her body heating up with his touch. She could feel his cock twitch in anticipation as she did another rep, it awakened something in her. Zoro, the man she had had an enormous crush on is reacting to her body. Unbeknownst to her, she let out a soft moan thinking about how he would put her in her place.
“One more," he murmured, his fingers digging into her hips slightly. "You're almost there." As she lifted the weights for the last time, he could feel her body trembling slightly against him. He couldn't hold back any longer.
He had good self control but after hearing her moan like that, he needed to have her. Feeling confident, Zoro snaked his hand around her waist and rubbed her inner thigh.
"Zoro..." she moaned as his hand brushed against her inner thigh. She couldn't believe it, he just crossed a line but she didn't care.
“Ah..." She let out a soft whimper as his fingers dipped into her shorts and traced her folds. She was beyond wet for him, her body begging for his touch.
“Did I tell you you could stop?” he commanded as he gently circled her clit with his rough fingers.
She continued to weakly squat as he touched her so sensually. She couldn’t concentrate, the sight in front of her was too hot, them in front of a mirror, him attending to her pussy. Never did she think that they’d be in this position.
"F-four..." she stuttered out, her voice trembling as his fingers continued to tease her sensitive folds. The pleasure was too much for her to bear; she couldn't focus on her reps anymore.
He chuckled and slipped in a finger, pumping it in and out slowly. She moaned again, this time a little louder.
Her moan filled the room, her body arching into his touch. "Zoro..." She bit her bottom lip, her eyes squeezed shut as she tried to maintain some semblance of control. The pleasure was overwhelming, and she could feel herself growing even wetter for him.
“Good girl, moan for me.” She dropped the weights and leaned forwards against the mirrored wall.
Zoro grinned, his eyes darkening with lust as he watched her lose control. He picked up the pace, his fingers finding her G-spot with each thrust.
"M-more!" she gasped out, her voice shaky with need. She felt like she was on the clouds, how did just finger make her feel this way? This had to be a dream she felt.
As if he was reading hear mind, he spoke “Your dreams are about to get a lot more real," he growled, pulling his fingers out of her soaking wet panties. "Get on your knees." He commanded, his tone leaving no room for argument.
She gasped at the sudden command, she didn’t know why but it awoke something in her - her want to pleasure him and obey all of his commands.
With shaky knees, she complied, kneeling down before him. Her heart was racing, and her breathing was ragged. All she could think about was the way he made her feel.
“You’re such a good girl, look at you being so obedient. Open your mouth for me sweetheart.” He lifted her chin to meet her gaze. She opened her mouth, feeling an odd mixture of arousal and nervousness. His dominant gaze held hers, making her body feel hot all over.
"You're so beautiful when you submit," he whispered huskily before leaning down to press his lips gently against hers.
His hand slid to the waistband of his sweats, pushing them down and freeing his cock. It was thick and hard, and she took it with eager anticipation, slowly running her tongue along the shaft as she lowered her head to take him deeper into her throat. She closed her eyes as she savoured the way he tasted and the little grunts that filled the room. Hearing him react to her touch only turned her on further.
“A-ahhh fuck…” he moaned, his fingers tangling in her hair as she took him deeper into her throat. His hips bucked forward, thrusting into her mouth as he lost control, his cock pulsing and throbbing in her mouth.
She glanced to the side to look at the mirror and moans softly when she saw the state they were in. It was undeniably hot the way her mouth was moving in sync to his thrusts. Feeling himself at his edge, he yanked her head away from him cock. She looked up at him a little puzzled and disappointed that she didn’t get to swallow him cum.
Zoro groaned, his eyes locked onto hers as he pulled her off him. "You're so fucking good at that," he panted, his cock still hard and glistening with her saliva. "But I want to feel you wrapped around me."
With a smirk, Zoro laid down and guided her hands back to his cock, showing her the position he wanted them to be in.
"Slide down, take me deep inside," he instructed, his voice thick with desire. "I want to feel you squeezing me tight."
She bit her bottom lip and slid down onto his cock, he was huge.
The head of his cock pressed against her cervix, stretching her tightly. "Fuck... so tight," he groaned, his hands finding their way to her hips.
"Ride me, sweetheart. Show me how much you want it."
Feeling her body tighten and quiver around him, Zoro lost control. He thrust upwards, watching as her breasts bounced with each movement.
"Fuck! You feel so fucking good!" he growled, his hips rolling to meet her every move.
Feeling her own orgasm approach she rode him faster only for him to grip onto her waist to stop her. “W-what…?”
He grinned before speaking, “As much as I’d love to shoot my load in you right away, I want to see you get fucked against the mirror. See, I want to see your slutty little face as I take you from behind yeah?”
She bit her bottom lip, feeling a rush of heat between her legs as she thought about it. Unable to resist any longer, she nodded, excitement coursing through her body. "Alright," she whispered, watching as he moved to get into position behind her. "Do it."
“Ah ah, stand against the mirror and spread your legs further apart.”
“Yes, sir," she said, doing as he commanded. Her heart was racing, and her breathing was ragged. She could feel every inch of him as he positioned himself at her entrance.
“Good girl.” He praised before stroking her hair gently.
Zoro took a deep breath and pushed forward, filling her up. She let out a long moan as she felt him stretching her tightly. "Oh god, Zoro… so big…"
"I'm going to fuck you hard against the mirror and you’re going to watch as I do, okay?" he growled, his hips grinding against her ass.
He began to pick up speed, slamming into her with brutal force. The mirror rattled with each powerful thrust as he claimed her body. Her nails scraped against the surface as she arched her back, meeting his thrusts with her own. Her breasts slapped against the mirror with every movement, leaving behind a sultry rhythm of moans and grunts. "Fuck, Zoro!"
“That’s it sweetheart, you’re taking me so well aren’t you?”
Her orgasm built rapidly, waves of pleasure coursing through her body as he continued to pound into her. "I'm close, Zoro! Please don't stop!"
“Look how pretty you look when you’re fucking yourself against my cock.” He gripped her chin and forced her to look in the mirror as he pounded away at her now sore pussy.
Her eyes locked on their reflected image; she could see the desire and lust in his eyes as he claimed her against the mirror. It was intoxicating. She screamed his name as her body shuddered under the force of her climax. "Zoro! I'm cumming!"
Feeling her tighten around him, Zoro let out a primal roar and followed her over the edge. His hips bucked wildly, driving deeper into her as he filled her with his hot seed. “F-Fuck…y/n!”
Her body quaked under the force of their shared release, her muscles clenching around him. As the intensity subsided, they both panted heavily, their bodies still connected by the mirror.
“Hn…” she mumbled, feeling exhausted. He shushed her softly and kissed the top of her head as he slid out,  laying down whilst gently pulling her on top of his chest.
“Zoro…" she murmured, snuggling into his chest. Her heart was still racing, but she felt a strange sense of contentment. They stayed like that for a long time, the only sound in the room being their steady breathing.
His lips twitched into a small smile as he stroked her hair, she couldn’t believe what she was seeing.
“I think your smile is so precious.” she continued, smiling back at him.
He cupped her face gently, tracing his thumb across her lips. "I never thought I'd see you like this. It's...beautiful."
She blushed and looked at him through her eyelashes, feeling extremely shy. “Me too…I’ve liked you for so long…”
“Shh," he whispered, pressing a soft kiss to her forehead. "It's okay. I like you too." He wrapped his arms around her tightly, holding her close. "We're together now."
She let out a soft chuckle and playfully slapped his chest “At least ask me nicely.”
He smirked captured her lips in a kiss, “Be mine, brat?”

Hiya
Saw that you were looking for some request to help get you out of your block (I hate when that happens) so I was wondering if we could get a Zoro x F/GN reader with the prompt "Holding your hand under the guise of not getting lost in a crowd" The swordsman isn't as touchy as Luffy but I think he'd find a way to get that physical touch.
Thanks 🌴
Hey anon, thanks dear for the request 🫶🏻 I love this idea!! It has me all 🤭 giggling and kicking my feet. Also I hope you’re satisifed with this 🤍
Crappy Love Confessions

Tumblr media
Loud chatter, salesmen shouting and advertising their products filled the air, the smell of various restaurants, children running about - the tunes of a new city filled your senses and you stare around in awe; almost every time it‘s the same deal and every single time you‘re still amazed by this feeling.
Luffy‘s hand met your back and finally pushed you off the boat. “Come on, y/n.“, he was drooling and you looked at him in amusement, “I smell meat!“ - he was already gone - a chuckle escaped your lips at the antics of your captain.
“Cutie-chan“, Sanji gasped dramatically and he grabbed your hands to check if you‘re alright, “are you-„
Zoro‘s grumble interrupted him and the both of them are about to butt heads again; you‘re ready to intervene and prevent the town from getting destroyed by these two but Nami was faster.
“Don‘t you guys have things to do.“, she pointedly stared at Sanji, since he was the one that needed supplies and ingredients for the next few weeks.
Sanji is about to make a flirty remark but stops himself when he sees Nami‘s glare, she pushes him off the deck and Zoro towards your direction, then proceeds to hum around about ‚not having too much fun‘ and your cheeks flush slightly; nonetheless you grin at her and shout back “no promises.“
Zoro looks at you, or well, more like scowls at you and if you didn‘t know any better you‘d think he was mad at you.
Your head tilts slightly to the right - inaudibly asking what‘s wrong.
“It‘s nothing“, he tenses up, and you can see something is bothering him in his eyes - now you could go about this in two ways, either you pester him and force him to tell you or you respect his boundaries and let it be.
You figured he‘d eventually tell you himself once he‘s comfortable enough and let it go, instead you focus on the rumbling town in front of you and smile and start walking, you knew Zoro would follow you either way so you don‘t bother calling out to him.
The both of you check out the shops, while you grab some utilities you also check out the snack vendors, all while Zoro is right behind you following every footstep and holding your bags for you on one arm and the other empty for, probably any worst case scenario he can imagine.
When you see a sword shop out of the corner of your eyes, you smile and turn towards him: “Do you want to check it out?“
He glances at you, then at the shop, he seems to contemplate it, overthink it even; you let out a sigh and step towards the shop: “Come on“, you nudge him, “it‘s at least worth checking out.“ and nudge him into the shop.
You stand beside him, observing him fondly while he checks everything out in deep concentration and gets anything he needs; when you’re ready to check out and leave the store you notice a small dagger - perfect to replace the one that broke recently.
You test out its feeling around your grip and its secureness and smile to yourself in satisfaction - you’ll get this one.
What you fail to notice is your boyfriend staring at you in admiration - for someone so kind you were deadly when threatened - in fact it’s the reason he was so drawn to you in the first place. All you needed was two little daggers and no one stood a chance against you, your bubbly self would disappear and it would almost seem like you had been replaced with the best assassin to walk the earth.
When you glance back at him satisfied with your choice, your breath halts for a moment; the way Zoro was looking at you right now? It almost made your face flush in embarrassment, his eyes were filled with endearment, admiration and something else you can’t pinpoint right now - he always had a hard time vocalizing his feelings for you but he didn’t have to, you always knew how much he cared for you without saying anything.
You clear your throat in an attempt to dissipate the butterflies in your stomach and smile at him: “You got everything?”
He keeps staring at you mesmerized: “yeah, i got everything I need.”, your face flushes slightly and the butterflies you tried to dissipate earlier come back, he didn’t mean just his sword supplies - not with the way he was staring at you.
“Alright.”, you nod and make your way to the cash register and pay up.
Zoro is already outside, leaning against the wall, while waiting for you, when you get out he promptly gets up and walks beside you, he seems to contemplate something, you were about to ask if there’s anything else he wants to check out when grasps your hand. Your face flushes when his large calloused hand wraps around your smaller softer one and you grin brightly - the warmth inside you only growing bigger and bigger.
He looks away, his voice slightly hoarser than before: “I can’t risk getting lost.”, you raise an eyebrow in amusement, his blushing ears clearly betraying his actual thoughts.
“Sure.”, you smirk clearly unconvinced by his reasoning.
Now the both of you walk together, your hands intertwined and you hum happily looking for your next destination.
The both of you walk around more until it’s late in the evening; your feet hurt from walking around all day and you decide to finally go back to the ship.
“Zoro”, you pout, the sting getting worse and worse.
He sighs slightly then proceeds to let go of your hand before he kneels down in front of you: “Hop on.”
The warm feeling in your chest, once again, consumes you - god you love him - you get on his back and wrap your arms around him while he grabs the back of your thighs and picks you up.
Fondly you kiss his cheek: “Thanks, dear.”
He ‘hmphs’ slightly and grumbles: “you’re too light, do you even eat?”
“Y’know I always finish Sanji’s food”, you grin, “you just lift abnormal weights.”
He tenses up slightly when you mention Sanji: “Don’t mention his name.”
Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion, Sanji and him always fight but he usually didn’t react this badly at his name being mentioned; finally, it clicks in your head and you manage to connect the dots.
“Is this about this morning?”, you lean your head on his.
“I don’t like when he’s being close to you.”, he sighs.
You smile and hold him tighter: “I don’t care for him, in the same way I care for you. No amount of flirting from his side can change that.”
“It’s not that. I trust you, it’s just..”, he seems to gather his thoughts, trying to put them into words and you let him - he needs to realize just how important it is to let you in. His jaw tenses up and he clearly seems uncomfortable being vulnerable, even if it’s you he's talking to. “It just makes me think that I can never be as vocal as him; He doesn’t mind crappy love confessions or public affection.”
It takes you a few seconds to even process his words - was he insecure?
“Zoro”, you motion for him to let you go and you quickly step up before him, grasping his face, “I don’t want crappy love confessions or public affection or anything else, I want you.”
“Ok but what if me being me isn’t good enough at one point and you want to do better - you certainly can, if you want to.”, he looks at you, the uncertainty finally clear in his eyes and it pains you, leaves you wondering for how long he had been harboring such thoughts.
“No, fuck that, I don’t want better, because there is no better.”, you bite your lips slightly, “ for me? You’re the best pick, Zoro. I love you, the way you are and I want nothing more than for you to keep being yourself and it’s not going to change any time soon. You hear me?”, you hold his face once again and genuinely look at him, he needs to believe you, trust that you won’t leave him.
“I’m just being stupid, aren’t I?”, he smiles at you a little stunned.
You smile and shake your head: “No, not stupid. Human.”
He raises an eyebrow slightly at your choice of words but accepts it nonetheless. He kisses your forehead earnestly and once again kneels for you to get on his back.
You grin and hop on, hugging him tightly.
He clears his throat: “I love you, too, by the way.”, your grin brightens - and he says he isn’t the type for crappy love confessions.
Together you guys walk through the bustling town back to the ship, the warm sunset fitting the atmosphere inside your chest.

Sleeping w the monster trio
Luffy- you know what sleeping with a kid is like? Yeah. He rolls, he kicks, he somehow ends up diagonal across the bed. At some point, he’ll decide he wants to cuddle and wrap his arms around you like three times. Has a silly sounding snore and drools sometimes, but it’s cute.
Sanji- he has to be touching you in some way. He loves being big spoon but being little spoon comforts him in a way he’s never experienced before. If either of you decide it’s too hot to cuddle, he’ll still try and hold your hand or reach his leg out to you. Hell, if y’all are faced completely away from each other he scoots his butt up against yours so they’re touching.
Zoro- the man sleeps like a brick; we know this. He snores so loud. You get used to it pretty easily, but damn. It's really only bad when he’s got you locked in his arms and starts snoring right in your ear. He gets hot so easily when he sleeps that he starts sweating and its gross

He was terrified, but not terrified enough to deny that you held his very life in your hands. Zoro didn’t mind that, not at all; you were gentle and funny and lovely and kinder than he deserved. Yet, you were real, as he often was reminded when you carded your hands through his hair with a little laugh and a mumbled, “Dumbass.”
No, Roronoa Zoro was terrified of how much he’d grown accustomed to your entire being.
It was also mildly frightening that you knew fully well just what he would do for you. Zoro admitted, he never tried very hard to hide it, not after your quiet little confession of affection some months ago, under the starlit sky, the wind brushing your hair away to reveal your face.
He’d been yours long before then, but only now he didn’t care to hide his adoring stares and relished in the little way you hooked your pinky with his when you were nervous. How your eyes searched him out when you entered a room. How your kisses grew from shy to ravenous as your relationship progressed.
It was safe to say he was certain you were as infatuated as he was, if not more, though that was a heated topic of debate between the pair of you (“There’s no way you love me more than I love you.” “Wanna bet?” “Zo, I literally took a bullet for you.” “Yeah, I’ve been meaning to bring that up… Why the fuck—!”)
A grin ghosted over Zoro’s face at the memory, and how you’d just laughed as he scolded your reckless affection. His grin grew to a smile before he could cool his expression, and then the warmth of your palm was cupping his jaw, drawing his face closer to yours.
In the low light of the tavern, he swore you glowed. Or maybe it was the three shots of vodka in your system. Either way, you were an angel if Zoro ever knew one. An angel who blessed him with your touch and your teasing little smirk as you asked, “What’s got you smiling?”
“You,” he replied like a reflex. Leaning into your touch, he cast a look around the tavern, scoping out your other crewmates for signs of disturbance. Luffy and Usopp were at the bar, Nami was swindling a woman at the booth across from yours, and Sanji was charming up a brunette in the corner. None of the other patrons minded your crew, so Zoro allowed his shoulders to lose just a bit of their tension, and his hand drifted from his sword to your hand, tugging on it gently to urge you to sit beside him instead of across.
Giddy, you jumped up and hurried to his side, sliding in till your thigh was flush with his. Zoro’s body warmed as you leaned into him, not caring to ask as you took his arm and wrapped it around your shoulder, gazing up at him softly. Your comfortability filled him with confidence; how you moved with such familiarity in his presence, and how it contrasted from when you first met—it was enough to make his ribs crack just to have room for his rapidly expanding heart.
“Good answer,” you teased. You reached up to card your fingers through his hair, gently scratching at his scalp and smirking wider as he grunted and closed his eyes. “Tired?”
Zoro huffed a laugh. “No.”
It was your turn to reminisce, watching as your swordsman melted before you, guard nowhere to be seen. Yours. Never would you have thought you’d actually get to call him that, but here you were, after all the odds and barriers of character.
You particularly enjoyed how he looked just now, eyes closed as you gazed up at him. Once upon a time, Zoro would whip around to make sure you never stood at his back, always ensuring you were nowhere near his blindspot. Now, you mused, he often slept with his back to your chest, your fingers trailing shivers up and down his arms.
Now, his dead eyed gaze didn’t instill you with paralytic nerves; you knew he was more bark than bite, at least with you.
Your dumbass.
“Oi, Y/N!” called Usopp, who had moved from the bar to the wide open space many used as a dance floor. The band of various instruments played a whimsical tune, the rhythm causing your knee to bounce in time.
You raised your brows. “Yep?”
Luffy wrung an arm around Usopp and laughed like a lunatic. “Come dance!”
Your eyes were droopy and honestly, you just wanted some sleep—but who were you to deny your captain? Besides, weren’t you the Strawhats’ resident deathly little dancer?
Casting your boyfriend a look only to find him pursing his lips, you giggled and kissed his frown away, escaping the booth in his brief surprise.
Zoro watched as you leapt to your feet and practically floated with the grace in your steps. As much as Zoro trained and as hard as he tried, he’d never been as graceful with a sword as you were now. Somehow, that made him love you more.
A fiddle and drum, a flute and dulcimer—from what Zoro could tell with his limited knowledge, the music was exactly your style. A lively sort of sound.
And as the music blossomed anew, Zoro spotted that tell tale sparkle in your eye; you had something up your sleeve, per usual, and as your toes started to tap against the ground he knew you’d be amazing, per usual.
Luffy’s enthusiasm drew attention, and soon enough a crowd had formed.
You clapped your hands in a steady rhythm, twirling around in the middle of a circle of people, their gazes trapped by your every move. The crowd soon mimicked your clapping. From the front of the circle, Luffy and Usopp cheered louder than the rest.
Zoro leaned this way and that to keep his eyes locked on you, but it became increasingly difficult as you drew them near like moths to a dancing flame.
With an arabesque leading into a balancé, you glanced over your shoulder and caught Zoro’s eye through the people. His heart stuttered.
You laughed, pure joy in your lungs, and shifted your style from more classical to something looser. You twirled and curved your arms in an “S” shape before pointing your foot and scraping it in the dirt in a wide Rond de Jambe. The movement was swift and agile as you continued to follow the flow of the music, completely in your element.
Mind elsewhere, Zoro hardly realized he’d stood up, not until he had forced his way through the crowd and stopped between Luffy and Usopp. The clapping all around him was deafening, only made worse by the sweet torture of your laugh.
Again, your eyes locked him in place as you swept toward him, only to take Luffy by the hands and twirl him around with you. Zoro scoffed and folded his arms over his chest, unable as ever to hide the smirk tugging at his face.
A giggle left you as Zoro’s face got lost in the whirl of your surroundings. You started a swing dance with Luffy, releasing him a second later to drag a newly approached Nami into the fun.
Your head spun and your feet ached—yet you would never feel happier than when you danced with your friends.
Well, you might’ve been a bit happier when dancing with your special green haired friend, but you knew him well. If you were to drag Zoro into the circle and dance him into the ground in front of all these people, he’d be compliant, but less than pleased.
No. When you danced with Zoro, it wasn’t like this; it was slow and steady, to the rhythm of nothing but the sea. It was deep in the belly of the Going Merry, when the crew was fast asleep, and the moon hung high. When you had the world to yourselves, and could sway in the hold of the other without interruption.
It was simple and plain, but it held a very special place in your heart.
Nami let you spin her around, rolling her eyes before she yelped as you pulled her in and dipped her low. She snorted into a laugh and stumbled a bit, grabbing your arms to keep you from whirling her around again.
Shooting her a wink as she all but ran back to the bar, you danced on light feet once more, starting up a roar of steady clapping.
Your swordsman stood in awe, his eyes desperate to catch as much of your radiance as he could, like you'd disappear at any moment. He always believed good things never last, but he’d die before he let this one end. Because you were Zoro’s best thing, and he refused to grow a similar policy surrounding best things.
So when you had spun off your balance and teetered off your feet, he was there, his arms scooping under yours and catching you against his chest. Out of breath, you looked up and found his eyes, letting the rest of your weight lean into him as he stood a steady post.
“Hey,” you giggled.
“Hi.” Zoro tilted his head. “Ready?”
You were back on your own feet in an instant, thoughts of a warm bed more enticing than dancing through to dawn. So you took his hand and beelined through the crowd, shoving your way through and dragging Zoro along. You winded up collecting Nami by the door, and waited up for Sanji too. The navigator and chef yawned in time, their eyes droopy.
You were no better, your steps lazy as you mindlessly followed after Zoro and the others. It felt as if you’d blinked and you were back on the Merry, gazing up at Zoro who only nudged you with his shoulder. “You up?”
You grunted in reply and promptly led the way to your shared cabin, throwing open the door and letting go of his hand. You plopped into the blankets and at once felt yourself melt into them. The bed dipped a second later. Rolling over, you grinned up at your boyfriend, finding him with his brows met.
“Gonna take off your shoes?” he asked, though it sounded more like an order.
“Yeah, yeah,” you huffed, lugging yourself back up to undo your laces and rip the offending apparel off. You turned to find him under the blanket, holding up one end to make you room, and you settled in beside him. Your head found its natural place on his chest, sleep just on the other side of the mental door, so to speak.
Lost in thought, you barely registered the words spilling from your lips. “I love you.”
It felt natural, like a breath you needed to survive. You wanted to say it again, then once more, and maybe again just for good measure.
Zoro stiffened, his face going an embarrassing shade of red, and he was grateful you weren’t able to see it from your place tucked against his side. He barely even breathed, wondering how much time had really passed since you’d uttered those worldbreaking words. It must’ve been longer than a few minutes; you were fast asleep, none the wiser.
He swallowed thickly and sank deeper into the bed, wrapping his arms tightly around you. He’d deal with figuring out how to say it back in the morning, and decide whether it’ll be the full truth some time later. Or, that was the plan anyhow.
Zoro really couldn’t hold back how you consumed his thoughts—his deathly dancer—and he could deny it all he wanted, but Roronoa Zoro had fallen in love, and apparently, you had as well.
The swordsman grinned, pressing a kiss to your hairline and forcing his eyes shut. How he got so lucky to have you love him, he had no clue. All he knew was you made his life a sweet kind of complicated, and he wouldn’t want you any other way.

Some stories gets told: The start
Pairing: OPLA!Roronoa Zoro x reader
Summary: After the duel with Mihawk, reader can't seem to leave Zoro's side while he is fighting between staying alive and reaching for an old friend
A/N: the way I am putting so much efforts in this is crazy, literally watching scenes in loop to understand how to add things and if they actually work in the original setting of the live action. I mentioned de@th a couple of times but briefly considering how long this is getting. Created a new village on Gecko Island for the sake of this ff Miro Village does not exists in the world of one piece, if it does I'm a lucky mf lol.

If three days ago people would have told her she was going to fight Kalahadore and his minions, she would have laughed at her faces; if three days ago people would have told her she was going to enjoy a trio of wanna be pirates she would have laughed it off saying that the only crew she was going to join was the same as Yasopp's; if three days ago people would have told her that she was going to face one of her greatest fears, she would have joked about it, but there she was after a fight with Kaya's butler in the company of three wanna be pirates.
The bar was filled with pirates and some Marines, or so she thought. Her blurry vision was not of help, everyone dressed in blue or white, or white and blue, was a possible enemy that was waiting for the right time to strick an attack and bring them back to headquarters.
-...sea slug.-she heard the swordsman say, confused to why he was talking about sea slug, which, by the way, she thought were very cute, she asked for some explanations. Nami only pointed at Usopp, dancing with his usual grace and talent, if that could even be called grace or talent.
-Look at him. Like he doesn't have a care in the world.- the orange haired girl stated, she wanted to replay, to say that in reality Usopp was just putting on a facade, but who was she to spill secrets that were not of her owns? No one, so she just kept quite and went back to her drink. A not well made one on her humble opinion, but at least she was able to drink and have fun.
The girl, once again that night, went back into her own thoughts forgetting she was in company but even if she wanted to have a conversation with the two in her heart she knew it wasn't a good idea. Not when drunk and knowing such state meant spilling everything that was on her mind.
-..you drink.- that was the key word that got her attention, if drinking was in the equation she wanted to be part of whatever they were doing. -You guess something about me, I drink.- he said pouring some of the rum in three little glasses.
-uuhhh I want to play.-
-Not now.-they both said in unison.
-First round is between me and the thief.- Zoro said not taking his eyes off of Nami which smirked at the boy.
If her attention was on Usopp and having her drink, now it was on her two new friends having a drinking game.
-I bet yu grew up in a big city, running schemes, hanging out in swanky bars like this one.-Zoro was the first one to try and guess under Nami advice, she gave him a second smirk. Y/N imagines the swordsman got it wrong from how the girl next to her reacted. And she was right.
-You might be thirsty.-Nami said. -I grew up in a small village. Barely a village. Just an handful of houses in the center of a tangerine grove.- Y/N started to picture how beautiful that might have been, that once again her mind alienated her from the conversation.
Y/N didn't know how long she was gone in her little world, but when she was back to reality second round was on, and this time she wanted to partecipate, but aparently the universe didn't want her to play that Usopp came back at the table with "his new best friend" or whatever.
-What did you say your name was again?-he asked sitting next to Nami.
-Which one of you is Monkey D. Luffy?-Y/N noticed Nami trying to get some informations out of the new nameless guy, asking who wanted to know such a question.
-You are Dracule Mihawk.- the name didn't ring any bell to Y/N, she had never heard that name, or at least while she was intoxicated from all the alcohol she had, the name was completely new to her ears.
-I have business with your captain. If you know what's good for you, you'll hand him over.- she noticed the man didn't like to beat around the bush, he just wanted to get to Luffy.
-We don't know anyone named Luffy. Right, guys?- Y/N looked at Nami confused.
-What do you mean we don't know him? He came here with us.- she turned to the elegant dressed man and told him that Monkey D. Luffy was somewhere around the Baratie but she didn't know exactly where.
-You are unbeliavable.-
-What? Is true he was with us and now he is not.- she defended herself, the two of them started to bicker: Nami trying to explain to her friend why she was supposed to lie, but their attention was back at Zoro when they hard him saying Mihawk, was it Mihawk?, she didn't care much, what she cared about was why for the East Blue did he say that the man was going to die the very next day.
In that moment Y/N was sober in an instant, her brain was back to function normally and so her body. She moved forward, motion followed by the girl next to her, she wanted to understand fully what was happening, maybe she heard wrong. Maybe Zoro was just playing around but even if she had known the man for less than a week she could tell he never joked, at least not about somo random guy dying.
-I, Roronoa Zoro, challenge you to a duel to the death.-
-To the what now?- she said as a reflex, it was not like she meant to say out loud but it happens and the fact that Mihawk was staring at her was not helping her nervouness to settle down. The man turned back almost immediatly letting the green haired swordsman know he never heard of him, implying how small of a fly he was in his eyes.
-They call me the Demon Pirate Hunter. But my lifelong dream it to best you in single combat and become the greatest swordsman in the world.- now that is a great dream compared to hers, that just wanted to live numerous adventures and write about them.
Y/N started to second guess if starting such a journey was even worth it, she was surrended by people with amazing dreams, even Usopp had a better dream than hers. She shook the thoughts away, now she had to more important matter to care about.
Once the challenge was accepted and the time was set Mihawk left and she was on her feet in an instant, she tried to say something but the words seemed to be stuck in her throat. She was speechless, Zoro did not just challenged someone that, for what she got from their conversation, is the most powerful and skilled swrodsman out there.
-You just have signed up your death sentence, you idiot.- she said and left to head back to the Going Merry.
Zoro was polishing his swords when Usopp came back with Luffy behind him, Y/N was silently listening to the conversation happening in the room, not really knowing how to handle the situation. Sure wasn't her friend, how could he be after a day they have known each other? But she didn't want him dead already.
Words of the conversation came and didn't so her brain didn't process half of what they had been talking about, she just knew Nami was trying her best to change Zoro's mind.
It was after Luffy and Usopp left the room that Zoro spoke directly to her that night, asking why she was still there.
-The promise.- she had heard that part, his dream was a promise made to someone; he was going to die just for a promise he made in the past. -did you made it to your friend?- he didn't answer but his body language told her everything she wanted to know. -in that case, I hope you are not going to die. Good luck.- she said walking outside ready to go and try to have some good sleep.
Waking up the next morning felt like a task, her head was pouding so much that if she had too many thoughts her head was going to explode in milion pieces for the lack of space. Trying to stand up from her hammock without falling was another task she didn't know how she managed to carry out, her legs feeling like jelly pudding but she managed to stay on her feet and following the boys outside, after wearing a pair of sunglasses.
The duel started and Y/N wanted to go back on the ship. She didn't want to see Zoro lose, she believed Zoro was a strong fighter and very much the most talented swordsman she ever knew but if his opponent had decided to use a tiny sword that looked like more like a knife, there was a high chance his friend was going to die in the worst case scenario.
The first time the weapon inflicted a scar on Zoro, Y/N gasped and hold onto Usopp to not fall butt flat on the ground for the scare it gave her.
-Why don't you retreat?- Mihawk's voice was cold, dry of any type of emotion when he spoke to him.
-I can't.-
-He can't.- a whisper, taken away from the wind in an istant, not Usopp nor Luffy behind her heard what she said and she was glad. She didn't want to explain herself, not right now.
-Or my dream will be lost forever.- and this is when things got for the worse. The swordsman took out Yoru, the sword he carries on his back and there was a fraction of seconds after the collision between the weapons where it felt like time stopped for good. Then the glenging of Zoro's swords hitting the ground broken into pieces. Y/N gasped, holding tighter on her best friend's arm.
The green haired boy sheated his good sword in place, opened his arms to form a T with his whole body. Tension grew in the air, everyone knew what was going to happen.
While the rest of the crew gave a glance towards each other she couldn't. Her eyes, even if weakened by the bright sun rays, couldn't leave the form of the boy that was about to die in a second now.
-ZORO- Luffy was the first to react, in a second the boy with the straw hat was next to his first mate, hoping to not see him dying in his hands. The conversation him and Mihawk had came in and out Y/N ears, she was focused on praying for the boy to not die.
Usopp was next, he run to his friends' side, pulling her with him in the process, she tripped loosing the grip on his best friend and falling on the ground. Nami tried to help her up, asking if she was okay but she was just able to keep silent.
It was just like when she was a kid and her father had died; it was like when she was a little girl and saw his first friend die, it was as if death was following her wherever she was going collecting people she loved one after the other. Her nails became such an important thing to stare at, she couldn't stand the sight of the pirates around Zoro, trying to speak comforting words that he was going to be okay.
He is not going to be okay, she thought, how could he? He had lost already too much blood and the more they were staying there doing nothing the more he was going to be more on the other side.
It was Nami that brought everyone back to reality and started to shout orders left and right. She asked the boys to take Zoro from the arms while she and Y/N would hold him from the legs.
Everything became a race with time, the more they wasted the more likely was for Zoro to die of blood loss. The four of them put him on the table of the kitchen; Usopp started to run around trying to find some towels or everything that could come in handy; Nami checked on the wounds; Luffy started to space out, every type of noise started to fade out and Y/N didn't know what to do, once again in her life she didn't know how to save another life.
-Someone...- the (your hair color) haired girl knew what she had to do, if no one was of any help she had to find someone that could be. She sprinted outside heading back to the resturant, they had to have a doctor or some sort of thing, didn't they? If that was not the case she was just unlucky.
Entering the resturant she clumsly tried to remember where was the kitchen, the place wasn't that big but in her mental state it was going to be hard remembering her own name.
When she found the door she rushed in, getting the chef and waiter's attention. The blond guy smirked, ready to flirt with her but noticing the worried expression on her face he just asked her if everything was fine.
-Nothing is fine.-she catched her breath for a moment. -Zoro got... He has a very pretty bad sword wound we need a doctor.- please tell me there is one on board, please please please. Her eyes were staring at the owner of the establishment and her face dropped when he said that the closest one was two days from there. Just my luck.
-I can't help you. Hope your friend makes it.-
-No, please you have to help us, please. Maybe there is a doctor on...-
-Ehy, where do you think you're going?- she wanted to punch the chef, he was totally ignoring her call of help and cared more where his waiter was going than on the live or death situation she presented him.
-To help her friend.- said Sanji
-Brunch is not gonna prep itself.- he reminded him. She was totally going to punch him if he ignored once again what was happening.
-You always told me to feed anyone who's hungry.- she heard him saying while looking around the room. -I don't see how this is any different.- he added.
The owner of the resturant sighed, realizing that he had no other choice but try and do somethig to help the dying kid.
-Fine. Bring me my kitchen knives and a bottle of our best whiskey. And a fresh yellowtail from the cooler. Bigger the better.-he ordered and started walking outside. Sanji was confused, why would Zeff need a yellowtail? -Just do it already.-
Y/N walked them to the Merry and once she pointed the direction of the kitchen, she let them go in first. She wanted to stay away from there, she didn't want her bad luck to linger over Zeff while he worked on Zoro's wounds.
It had been some time since the two chefs came to stich the swordsman up so when she saw the chef leaving the kitchen she jumped on her feet asking how her friend was doing. Zeff assured her the guy was resting but only time could have told if he was going to live or not.
She walked inside meeting eyes with Usopp, Luffy stop tending on Wado and looked at her, giving the girl a forced smile, and she did the same. She was in no shape for smiling sincerely.
-How is he doing?-her tone was almost inaudible if it wasn't for the lack of noises.
-He is resting now, we are hoping for the best.-Usopp answered, she looked in the direction of Nami's room but then changed her mind. She didn't want for her bad luck to make things worse.
Usopp noticed. He always did. He had know her for a long time now and could read her like an open book. He knew what she had to go through, she had told him, trusting in his vow to not say a thing.
-You can go and talk to him. Maybe he would like to hear from a more gentle voice.- he joked.
-I heard that.- that made her laugh a little and she made a note to herself to thank her best friend for the joke.
-But...-he started again, Y/N stopped him, it was fine. She was going to stay in her room for the time being hoping that everything was going to get better.
-What's up with her?-Asked a worried Sanji looking the girl dissapearing from his view. After she had left the cook tried to get some info out the sniper but the man brushed it off lying that he wished to know as well.
Entering her room she locked herself in, not wanting people in for now, she wished for some alone time.
She went to the little desk and turned on the snail radio searching for a station worth listening to hear. Every station she picked were talking about some piracy activity around the East Blue or the New World, some had music but nothing that was of her taste. Her patience was running short, nothing was good enough, growing impatience she took the snail and throw it away.
The object made a loud noise that had been heard downstairs for sure, but she didn't care. She really didn't. She got herself under the blanket, cold running throught her body even tho the weather was pretty warm.
It took her nothing to fall asleep, and to be surrended by her nightmares coming back to make her sleep difficult. Between the faces that she was used to see screaming at her, putting the blame on her a new was added to the crowd: Zoro's. He wasn't talking like the others, he was silently looking at her dissapointment all over his features. Y/N tried to apologize, but words couldn't come out, they were stuck making her choke on air.
-Z...-nothing, her throat felt dry, like the ground back in Syrup Village during the drought. She felt powerless as usual. I'm sorry, I'm really sorry, she wanted to apologize but it was hard when the only thing you can do is breath.
Breating, the only thing she was able to do was to breath but with time she found herself having an hard time doing that as well, dropping on the ground. Tears creeped out her eyes, watering her eye line but she tried her best to fight the urge to cry her eyes out.
She woke up covered in sweat and sighed asking herself when was she going to stop having nightmares or was she going to live like that forever? If that was the case she hoped the sea was going to take her as soon as possible, before she was going to lose her mind.
After a quick shower and a change of outfit she tippy toed outside her room making sure no one was around she headed to check on Zoro. She was happy to see they were alone in that moment.
She closed the door behind her and for a moment she pondered if it was a better idea go back to her room and stay there untill her friends were back, no she decided to keep Zoro company for a while. Maybe she didn't really know what to say, but the words were going to come at some point, wouldn't they?
She moved the chair closer to the bed he was resting on, glanced for a while his hand. Was oaky for her to hold it? Was he going to even feel it? She didn't know what to do, she had found herself in that position countless of times and yet it was just like the first time.
-Zeff told me it is a good idea to talk to you but honestly I don't even know what to say.- she thought she was sounding stupid, who on the seven seas starts a conversation like that? Her for sure. -Usopp hasn't always been my best friend, I had one before I met him. She was older than me, not much older, just two years of diference.- she smiled. -I was new to Miro Village. The first two months she was really mean to me so I would avoid her most of the times, even thought she would find ways to bully me so I gave up. She did everything in her power to make me upset, she blamed everything on me to get me in trouble like that one time she stole an entire cart of fruits and told the major it was my fault. He had to call in my parents, they wanted to talk to my dad about my behaviour but little they know he was dead. He had died some weeks prior I moved there, the journey wasn't that long since I used to live nearby but no one knew, how could they? Is not like I talked about it nor anyone cared to ask why a lonely little girl walked miles to get there, they were just happy there was someone doing the jobs no one wanted. She apologized for how she treated me but to be honest with you it wasn't that important, she was the only one that paid attention to me, yes you might argue it was not the best way but when you are a kid that goes unnoticed you kinda of like it when someone talks to you, even if is just to make fun of you.- she took a deep breath, now it came the hard part. -We started to get closer and closer until one day pirates raided the village, they took her because she was trying to protect little ol' me. They killed her on the spot and I was going to follow her if it wasn't for a random citizen pumbing into the pirate. It gave me the window to run away and I found shelter in Syrup Village where I met Usopp. Sometimes I see her in my dreams, she is always mad at me because I ran away and I didn't help her, sometimes I think back at...-
Someone was on board, she could tell, checking who was she felt safe seeing her captain. Luffy walked past her ignoring her presence, not because he didn't like her, for all the seas if that was the case she couldn't even have thought on putting a single foot on his ship, the captain had to fix the problem first thing first.
-Hey, Zoro. You sure missed a big fight. Those fishman guys were though. You would have loved it.- she smiled, knowing that was 100% so true. -...great dinner. All of us sitting around together, listening to Usopp's stories. Only I kinda messed it up. And now I lost Nami.- schock was painted all over Y/N, what was he talking about? Losing Nami? How? When? Why?
-...but I know what to say now, and is so simple. I need you, Zoro. I need you to wake up.- the girl felt ashemed, she wasn't able to say those simple words, indeed went on about her childhood friend that died to protect her. She was glad that her captain got the courage to say those words.
-You gonna keep talking, or let me get some sleep? Geez, you people really like to talk uhm?- Luffy jumped on top of Zoro, Y/N was only able to stare at the two boys in front of her. He was alive, how? She was pretty sure he was done for. She thanked whoever decided to let him live.
Luffy hugged his first mate, making him groan out of pain.
-Luffy, Luffy get off you are hurting him.- the girl said and before she could help the straw hat pirate down he was already on his feet.
She was now standing next to Luffy, looking at Zoro with a small smile on her face.
-I had the strangest dream that Nami left.-
-She did.-
-What do you mean she did? Why?-
-It's my fault. She left...- he started but Zoro cut him off.
-No, you didn't do anything wrong. You acted like a captain.- Luffy couldn't understand, if he did actually act like a captain, why was the crew falling apart more and more? -No, it's not. I, Roronoa Zoro, vow to stand by your side from now until the end. Until we find the One Piece or die trying.- he kept on with his vow and Y/N could only admire the boy for that. She started thinking if she was in any position to vow eternal loyalty or if her presence on the Going Merry was just temporary, she hoped not for the latter.
-so what do you say?-
-What?-
-Do you want to be part of my crew as a loyal member?-she was taken aback, no one had ever asked for her opinion on important metters, she grew up following orders. If she was told to do something her only concern was to carry on the task, no question asked, but now? Now she was given the chance to choose: eaither stay on board and become a part of the Straw Hat pirates, or leave and starting fresh a new life somewhere else.
-If you accept me, I'll be honored to follow you and protect this crew and the one in needs.-
-Of course I accept you, why would have I asked to join in the first place? Now...- the three of them got interrupted by Usopp screaming and happy to see his friend awake.
-I wasn't worried for a second.-
-Yeah, not worried at all, in fact I was the one...-
-HE IS ALIVE.-he said raising with such force his hand and Zoro's in the process, making the wounded guy groan out of pain.
-LUFFY STOP. - she separeted the two, taking Zoro's hand in hers. -For all the seas, you are going to give him an embaracing death one of those days I am telling you.- she was still holding his hand when the green haired swordsman cleared his throat to get her attention. -Sorry.-
-So, now what we do? Plot a curse to the Grand Line?-
-No, not yet.- was his answer.
-But I thought we were going after the One Piece?-
-We are, but we can't do it without our whole crew.- she smiled, knowing exactly where he was going with that. First mission before heading to the Grand Line: getting Nami back.
-Great, now you two start getting everything ready. I am going to change his bandage.-
-I can do...-the captain started.
-I am not leaving the first mate under your care. You keep treating him like a doll. Now please let get ready to leave.
-I can do it myself.- he groaned trying his best to stand up, but failed.
-dude, you can't even seat without help. Now shut up and let me help you.- he let a small "fine" not sure about the whole situation but it was either that or groaning every two seconds. And as much as his ego screamed at him that it wasn't to be that bad, he gave up and thought that maybe he really needed a little bit of help.

Clinking glasses, boisterous laughter and sounds of revelry filled the air. The kingdom of Wano was celebrating the end of Kaido’s reign and of the ill-famed prophecy coming to fruition after two long decades. As always, your crew was in the centre of the limelight. Luffy was predictably surrounded by piles of empty plates on one side and plates loaded with food on the other. Ussopp and Chopper were merry-making, Robin, Nami and Franky were engaged in conversation with Yamato-kun and Tsuru-san, Brook was playing with some children and you couldn’t see Sanji anywhere. Probably escorting some damsel in distress somewhere, was your best bet. And in a corner of the room, surrounded by Kin’e’mon, Duke Dogstorm and Cat Viper was Zoro – all of them going through barrels of sake like running water. With the burden of Kaido off everyone’s shoulders, everyone felt lighter, freer. So why was there a heaviness in your heart?
You excused yourself from the people around you and you went outside the room to take a deep breath. Maybe looking at the stars would remind you again how insignificant your troubles were. You chastised yourself for feeling the way you did when there were people that had lost their loved ones in the war and in the years preceding it, and once again you wished that matters of the heart could be reigned over by logic. You’d carried a thing of sake with you and there were strains of faint music coming in from somewhere and so you took unladylike sips while staring up at the stars in the sky, willing all other thoughts out of your brain.
“Oi, what are you doing out here?,” a familiar gruff voice rang out behind you. Jolted out of your thoughts and nearly choking on the sake, your eyes widened as you turned around to find Zoro. However, before you could get a word in, he spoke again, and your chest felt heavy again.
“Shitty-cook was looking for you.” Oh. It was probably too much to have expected Zoro to notice your absence and come find out in the middle of a banquet with free-flowing sake. You should’ve known better.
As if right on cue, another familiar voice filled with half-hearted anger and pure annoyance called out from a distance. “Oi Marimo, where the hell have you been? Hiyori-chan’s been looking for you all night, how dare you keep a lady waiting?” Your heart lurched again hearing Hiyori’s name and as Zoro turned around to face Sanji, Sanji spotted you. His tone changed immediately as he called out to you this time, sweetly and with no trace of earlier frustration, “Hellooo YN-chan, didn’t see you there! Are you enjoying the party? Was mosshead over here, bothering you?”
“Haaa?!”
You let out a little laugh and a wave, with a smile you hoped was convincing enough, the same time as Zoro let out an accusatory curse.
“Hey, Sanji! I’m alright thanks, I was looking for you actually. Can I have a cigarette?”
“Of course, anything for you!” Sanji trips over himself trying to get out his pack of cigarettes and insists on lighting it for you. Having completed it, he turns around to see Zoro still standing there, staring at the two of you. “You stupid Marimo, didn’t I tell you Hiyori-chan’s waiting for you? Don’t you have any manners? I can’t believe she would pick you over me. She’s the most beautiful woman in the whole country, why would she even want a brute like you?! Don’t keep her waiting, you ill-mannered animal!” Sanji all but kicks Zoro, as if sending him flying to Hiyori’s feet might make up for however long she’s been waiting. For a second it looks like Zoro and Sanji are going to butt heads for the nth time but Zoro simply twists his face into a scowl, decides against it and walks off, grumbling under his breath. You turn back to rest your elbows on the parapet as you watch the smoke billow away into the night sky.
“So, Zoro and Hiyori, huh?,” you say with a little laugh.
Sanji lets out a scoff, takes a drag as if to compose himself, and then speaks, “Can you believe it?”
You don’t answer him and the two of you finish your cigarettes in silence afterwards. You offer Sanji your remaining sake and he graciously accepts. The two of you walk back to the banquet hall and instinctively your eyes scan the room for Zoro – he is nowhere to be found. And then, cautiously and against your best interests, you scan the room for Hiyori – she is nowhere to be found either. You can feel the bile rising in your chest as you scan the room a third time, this time for signs of either of them, but nothing. Putting two plus two together, you walk into the room with a heavier heart than you’d left. Walking over to the banquet table, you grab two bottles of sake and go join the group nearest to you. Chopper was putting chopsticks up his nose and the entire group was in splits – it was easy to pretend you were having fun too.
Back on the ship, you try your best to give Zoro as wide a berth as possible and hope it goes unnoticed. In your defense, it’s nothing obvious – it’s not like you’re walking the other way when you see him. You didn’t really want to either. Your heart might have been hurting but even then, you couldn’t deny how good he looked doing push-ups on the deck of the Sunny. Well into his 500’s, brazenly shirtless, and sweat glistening like molten gold on his brown skin in the sunlight. Had you not been bothered about giving him some space, you likely would’ve been staring at him shamelessly and Robin would’ve passed a cheeky comment about flies going into your open mouth. With a heavy sigh, and a slightly heavier heart, you go back to the book you were reading.
Days pass like this, with you toeing a thin line doing your best to keep your distance while trying to not make it obvious to anyone. This was just a passing crush and from past experience you’d learned that the best, and probably only way, to deal with it was to bide your time and let it fade away on its own. You only wondered how long it would take this time, because there was a limit to the pangs of pain you could tolerate.
You were sitting in the crow’s nest, knees to your chest and cradling the book you were reading when a movement drew your attention to the door. Zoro walked in with weights and set them down on the floor next to you.
“Should I- do you need the room?” you asked getting ready to get up, hoping simultaneously he’d say yes and no to appease the two splits your heart was in.
“Stay,” he grunted under his breath and he turned around and began setting up his equipment.
Long ago the two of you had come to an agreement to tolerate, and allow, only each other in this little sacred space the two of you had managed to create for yourselves on the Sunny. You reading in silence while Zoro worked out nearby was a near-natural occurrence for the two of you and naturally it often led to small talk, casual conversation and eventually playful banter. You’d spent nights up here on watch, drinking from the secret alcohol stash that Zoro and you had hidden away underneath the floorboards. The more you thought about all the memories you have of the two of you in the room where you were, the more the awkwardness of the present moment was stifling, closing in your heart and squeezing it in desperation. It was too far gone now, there was no escape. If you left now, it would make it even more obvious so all you could hope for was that Zoro hadn’t noticed anything out of the ordinary. Although with the way you’d tried to leave earlier… Zoro was an idiot but unfortunately, the bastard could be observant when he wanted to. It was all you could do to stare into the book in your hands, boring your eyes into the words on the page and registering none of them.
Wordlessly you slid back into place, watching him curiously as he arranged the weights on the racks with his back to you. Thanks to your efforts, you had never been alone with him ever since you’d left Wano. You’d made it a point to always stay on the deck, with others in company and sight, to prevent yourself from the exact situation that you were in right now. You knew Zoro liked to train in the crow’s nest, but it was also your favourite place to read a book for similar reasons – it was quiet and far away from the chaos that the deck was almost always prone to.
Speaking of the devil, Zoro's voice cuts through the room, “Are you okay?”
“Yeah, why wouldn’t I be?”
“Dunno, you’ve seemed a little out of it ever since we left Wano.”
“What do you mean?”
“You know, we haven’t- you haven’t come up to the crow’s nest to read or anything,”
“Oh.” Your heart flutters a little at the fact that he noticed, but the rational part of your brain shuts it down. That’s what a friend does. He cares about you, just not the way you do about him. “I uh- I wanted to give you some space.”
It was Zoro’s turn to look confused. “Hah? Why?”
“I thought you might need some time to get over….” your voice dies down as the confusion in Zoro’s eyes increases. “Get over what?” The pure obliviousness almost makes you question yourself but for the sake of your sanity, you decide to press on. “Over Okiku-san?” you say softly. You see his eyes soften at the mention of her name.
“Oh. Yeah, I visited her grave with Kin’e’mon before we left.” You nodded understandingly. “If that’s what you’re worried about, I’m fine.”
“Do you miss her?”
“Miss her? I only knew her for a week.”
“Then… do you miss Hiyori-san?”
“Haaah?! How do you know about that? Did someone tell you? I bet it was Brook he has awful fucking timing. Just like that morning….” Zoro grumbled under his breath.
Your heart sinks a little as you recall he’s referring to the night that they slept together. You remember feeling devastated when Brook was telling you and Nami and you had to do everything in your power to act like it was scandalizing gossip and not like it felt like your heart was like a rock dropping rapidly into the sea. And it was happening again.
“No one told me, I just… guessed. I’m sorry,” you say softly, trying to stop tears from falling.
“What for?”
“It must suck to leave someone you love behind.” A pause and then you offered honestly, “I don’t know if I could do it.”
“Who did I leave behind?”
“Hiyori-san?”
You could see the gears in his brain turning as he tried to put the pieces together, “And who do I love?”
“Hiyori-san….?”
“Where the hell did you get that from?!”
“From you?!" Zoro continued to stare at you like you were spouting nonsense and so you added in your defense, "I thought she confessed to you on the night of the banquet!”
“She did,” but before you could say anything Zoro spoke again, "But I turned her down.”
“Oh. So it was Okiku-chan then?”
“Haaa?! Where are you getting any of this from?! You’ve been acting strangely ever since we left Wano and now you keep fuckin’ talking about me being with people I haven’t ever thought about that way. Do you think I’m like ero-cook over there, who falls in love with every single girl he meets? Is that really what you think of me?”
“No,” you whisper, tears threatening to spill any moment now. You’d never seen Zoro this annoyed, and never at you. Zoro turns around and starts putting his weights back, his back to you. “Forget it, I just wanted to see if you’re okay but I don’t know what’s wrong with you.”
Your heart sank to your knees and all the arguments you'd been using to not confess to him suddenly fell away. All that was left was your need to explain to Zoro that you'd never meant to piss him off, only to try and know who he liked because you liked him. You spoke before you realized you were doing it, and before you knew it the words had already left your wobbly lips in a shaky whisper.
“Zoro, I’m sorry. I like you.”
Hearing your trembling voice, Zoro turned around and walked over to stand a few steps away from you. You could feel his eyes on you and you’re sure he had questions, but you were also sure there were tears in your eyes; and so you were staring holes into the ground because the last thing you wanted now was for Zoro to see you cry.
Zoro’s voice was softer when he spoke, “I like you too. Are you alright? You know you can talk to me if something’s bothering you, right?” He didn’t know what was going on and your sudden change in behaviour only confused him even further.
Incredulous, you looked up to face him, brimming tears now forgotten. You wondered if you should let it pass since your tortured confession was wildly misunderstood by the swordsman who really had moss for brains at times but now that you’d come out and said it, you figured you might as well get it over and done with. It had taken you months to get this far, and the part of you that was sick playing pretend just wanted to let it all go to flames and see where the pieces fell in the aftermath. You weren’t sure if you could handle another day of acting like Zoro was just a friend to you and another night of going to bed wondering what it would be like if you had the courage to tell him how you felt.
“Zoro no, I like you," gathering courage you started tentatively with a shaky breath and hoped that this time the confession would go through. "I was, I was upset because Brook told us about Hiyori and you and then Luffy told us about Okiku-san and then she died the night of the fight and then- it was all a lot to process and- and I was jealous. And hurt. And I didn’t know how to handle it so I thought avoiding you would help because I didn’t know what else to do. I’m sorry, please don’t be mad at me.”
Your voice went back to a wobbly whisper by the end, and so you missed the way Zoro was looking at you. You’d looked up briefly at some point during your long-winded defense but you'd gone back to the comfort of staring at the ground, talking about this was hard enough. Was it because you'd seen the way Zoro's eyes had widened? Possibly, but you were shaking with nervousness and there was only so much you could admit to on a day when all you were planning to do was finish your book, really. Hearing you talk, his expression had gone through shock, mild distaste at hearing you thought he liked Okiku which immediately changed to a smirk as soon as he heard you say you were jealous. Right now, there was only half a smirk on his face because he was fighting a smile that was threatening to show up.
“Stupid woman, why didn’t you tell me?”
“What?”
“That you liked me." Your head shot up at that and all you could do was stare wordlessly at him as he continued, each next word causing another heartbeat to miss, leaving you with an anxiousness you felt bubbling in the depths of your chest. "Could’ve avoided all these tears if you’d told me earlier. ‘Cause I like you too.”
Your eyes widened hearing him and all of a sudden your brain went blank. All the questions you had for him disappeared and all you could do was look at Zoro wordlessly as he continued to speak.
“I turned Hiyori down because I told her I like someone else, have liked, for a long time now. It’s you, dummy. I like you. Now, will you stop crying? You’re kinda ruining the moment here.”
He gently flicked your forehead and you smacked his arm out of reflex with an offended squawk. A grin broke out on Zoro’s face, “There we go, that’s my girl. Glad to have you back, princess.”
A watery smile made its way onto your face but you were still trying to process what you'd just heard.
“You turned down Hiyori-san… for me? She’s the oiran," your voice faltered as you re-realized the reality.
“Yeah, so?"
"She's the most beautiful girl in all of Wano."
"Yeah well, I think you're prettier." Your eyes widened at his words, tears long halted, as you looked up at him in awe. Like you couldn’t believe the moment you're in is real. Zoro's hands cup your face, his face inches away from yours, as he asks under his breath, "Can I- can I kiss you?"
You nod as if in a daze and you feel his lips on yours immediately afterwards, hungry and hot. His other hand grabs your waist and pulls you closer to him in a single jerk and then he digs his fingers into the skin of your waist, holding you so tight it would've hurt had you been focusing on that instead of drinking his gasps and little groans in. Breaking away from the kiss and looking into Zoro's eyes, you saw a searing look in there that would've buckled your knees had he not been holding you. Tiptoeing, you pressed a shorter, chaste kiss onto his lips and hoped Zoro could feel what you were trying to say: thank you, thank you.
Pulling away, you make yourself comfortable in Zoro's hold, looping your arms around his neck and when you speak there's a twinkle in your eyes, "So… you had a crush on me, huh? That's embarrassing."
"Oi! You said you liked me first!"
You throw your head back and laugh, because yeah he's got you there but you've got him now so you can't be a sore loser. Not today, anyway.
BONUS:
It's late at night and you're lying next to Zoro on the deck, staring up at the sky. The remainder of the day was spent skirting around each other, sharing furtive glances and shy smiles when others weren't looking. Telling others hadn't come up yet but you'd be lying if you said you hadn't been thinking about what this meant for the both of you. With that thought still lingering, you piped up.
"Soo, does this mean we're dating?"
"Nope."
"What?! Why not?" you cried out in indignation and propped yourself up on your elbows to turn to him, offense painted all over your face.
"You still have to ask me out," Zoro pointed out.
"I confessed to you!"
"Exactly, that's why you have to ask me out."
"You-" The logic didn't make any sense but you of all people knew it was futile to argue with Zoro when he'd made up his mind. So you lay back down with a sigh, "Fine. Fine. Roronoa Zoro, will you be my boyfriend?"
You turn to him after you finish your question, staring into his eyes with only a slight glare, loving annoyance pricking your tone but you both know it's harmless. Zoro matches your stare with his own and doesn't speak but leans in closer towards you to close the gap with a kiss he hopes answers your question: a resounding yes. But just in case you hadn't received the message, he mumbles it softly against your lips, "You have no idea how long I've been waiting to say yes."

Most would assume Zoro was a heavy sleeper, how he could nap through any amount of noise, that hearing his name shouted wouldn’t even cause a stir from the slumbering swordsman. The truth was, very often he wasn't even sleeping, just hoping no one would interfere with his rest. Not even his nakama knew he was a light sleeper, not even you.
Until you were slowly, gently shaken awake from the terrors that plagued your dreams, warping the beautiful thoughts of adventure and sunsets into darkness, into sinister visions that chilled you to the bone and left you whimpering, left you with tear-stained cheeks as you opened your eyes and blinked tearfully up at your boyfriend.
Zoro frowned, his hand still on your shoulder as you turned in the hammock to face him with a withering sigh, your heart still beating, sweat across your furrowed brow as you took a shaky breath and tried to calm yourself.
“It’s alright, just a nightmare,” Zoro informed, his voice low and rumbling, a pleasant sound that calmed your nerves as you rubbed clammy hands down your sleep pants. “Y-yeah, I know now but it felt… so real…” You looked far away as you stared at his chest, thinking about the screaming twisting entities that played cruelly with you.
As he always did, Zoro saved you from the grabbing hands and vile smirks that crowded around you, the dark water that filled your lungs and made you choke. His strong arms around you as he held you against his chest, a large hand reaching up the back of your shirt, calloused hands rubbing, comforting.
“Do you need anything? Like, to talk about it or whatever?” He asked and you peered back up at him, his expression softened, he wanted to help but you weren’t sure you wanted to let the demons out of the box, not right now, just wanting to ignore the nightmares and curl up in his embrace.
He made you feel safe.
“It’s alright, just… can you rub my back till I fall asleep again?” You asked, feeling pitiful for asking such a thing from him. Zoro chuckled, a slight smile on his lips as he nodded, his hand carried on its journey from one side of your back to another and you focused on his touch, blinking the remains of tears from your eyes, a small yawn.
Zoro watched as your eyes closed, feeling your hand splayed on his chest, over his heart, feeling each beat as he watched you sleep, hearing your breathing change, slipping back into a restful state.
He leaned down and kissed your forehead as you slept curled up with him.

➪ notes: after Nami introduces you to her gang during a virtual game, your biggest fear finally came knocking at your door, meeting him in person.
Tumblr media
"I'm so fuckin' nervous, Nami."
"Babe, you look fine. You're overreacting! That idiot is definitely gonna love what he sees, [Name]."
"What if he thinks I'm ugly? I'd be so embarrassed."
"Girl, I doubt he would. You're gorgeous. Plus, I'd beat his ass, simple."
Currently, you were in the bathroom attempting to catch your breath which resulted in failure, because your nerves were getting the best of you. You were at the hugely prominent party that one of your friends had decided to throw on a Friday night. Well, wasn't exactly randomly thrown. Precisely, you attended this party to meet a certain someone for the first time, face to face.
You already met the rest of the crew twenty minutes after you arrived, excluding Nami since she's a long-time friend of yours.
What's funny is, you had met her crew through an online game. She had asked you to come and join their lobby while they played a session because they were missing a member and needed an extra person to start their game. Over the months, she introduced you to them after adding you to their group chat. As soon as you told Luffy that your favorite food was meat, he automatically made you a member of their friend group.
At first, you were too nervous to talk into the mic so you would be muted, but once you get comfortable, you spoke with them almost every day. At times Sanji would flirt with you and ask you to send selfies of yourself so that he can shower you with compliments, describing how your voice sounded 'angelic' over the mic.
However, you never showed them your appearance because you were insecure and didn't want to be judged. You also wanted to meet them in person because you felt like you looked better in person. Nami respected your wishes and told you to only show them when you're comfortable.
You knew what most of them looked like, except a few, which included Roronoa Zoro. At first, you and Zoro didn't really interact much. It seems as though he was weary of you, or he just had trust issues. It was understandable, but you saw it as a challenge. You started pestering him in the group chat, always teasing him, which led him to directly message you for the first time.
It started out as him bluntly stating that you were very annoying, which honestly kind of hurt your feelings at first, but you would always rebuttal. You both had started arguing, throwing playful insults at each other which ultimately led him to calling you. You were astounded by it, asking him why he even dialed to call you. His statement was even more baffling,
"I just wanna hear your voice."
That text alone had your heart jumping, as butterflies fluttered inside your chest. Honestly, you didn't want to pick up. In your defense, you felt jittery because his voice was undeniably attractive. It was deep, and gruff which would always have you tingling inside whenever he did speak into the mic on the game. It was just so... sexy.
Ultimately, you did decide to pick up, and let out a soft 'Hi?'. He chuckled, making your heartbeat gradually quicken. It's as if he sensed your uneasiness and proceeded to tease you on your shyness.
"You talk all that shit in text, but sound so innocent once you're on the phone."
"Shut yo' ass up."
"You ain't bold enough to say it in person."
Ever since then, it was like a sacred routine for the both of you to have playful arguments in direct messages and occasionally, on the phone over the months. You still get anxious whenever you hear his voice because you still aren't used to it. You just knew that he must've been an attractive person. Eventually, you did see his appearance, and lord have mercy.
You actually discovered it by looking him up one day out of curiosity. He claimed that he didn't really use social media much, but once you saw his Instagram, he had so many followers. You had no idea that he was such a popular man, dare say that he was even a celebrity figure. Matter of fact, THE WHOLE CREW was well known. You saw them in his tags, clicking on each of their profiles.
Seeing Zoro made you so self-conscious that you actually started to distance yourself from him. You were way out of his league; he was such an unbelievably attractive man. Unworldly, even. Especially when you looked through his comments when he posted his workout videos. The people were head over heels for him. The simps were horrendously down bad.
You had just... sat there. Thinking to yourself, why was Zoro even wasting his time talking to you? He doesn't even know what you look like, other than the time when Nami described your appearance to them once, yet he still seems to be so interested in conversating with you.
Unfortunately, he took notice of you ignoring him very quickly since he's an observant man. He questioned your intentions at first, which led to you both having quite an intense argument, but ultimately he respected your boundaries and left you alone.
The crew also noticed you both avoiding each other. Zoro would barely speak into the mic now but would still listen to the sound of your voice. Even though he had no clue what he did wrong, he still wanted to at least hear you talk, because it calms his nerves, soothing him. He liked you; he already came to terms with that fact internally.
You, on the other hand, were struggling.  You thought distancing yourself would've been the best thing to do yet turns out to be the worst possible decision. You felt awful because you worsened the situation and realized that you harbored feelings for him. Ignoring him was like a stab to your heart. If anything, it was a wake-up call for you. You missed him badly, and wanted to talk to him but weren't sure how to go about it.
Eventually, you stopped being a pussy and called him instead of doing it over text. Apologizing over the phone felt more authentic to you because you wanted him to know how sorry you were. You apologized, saying that you were an over-thinker and thought it was best to distance yourself from him because you discovered who he was.
In short, he was taken aback that you hadn't searched him up by now, assuming you did it the moment you heard them say his name.
"You're such a crybaby.. come on, don't cry, princess."
"I know, i'm sorry.."
You didn't cry often, but you did humiliatingly shed some tears after telling him about your insecurities and thought he wouldn't want to talk to you anymore once he discovered what you looked like. You also told him your experiences with your ex, who just so happens to be your first and only boyfriend that would comment inhumane insults about your looks. That's also why you didn't use social media as much as you used to anymore because he would belittle your looks and call you a hoe for your pictures.
He went as far as deleting them because he didn't like certain comments from people. It was honestly ridiculous, which made you think he was insecure. Nevertheless, you're glad to have left that toxic and verbally abusive relationship.
Zoro talked you through it that whole night, comforting and complimenting you, making it known for you to believe that you were breathtaking inside and out. He was such a gem, and it was a foreign feeling to you. Your last relationship ruined things for you, yet Zoro made everything so surreal and genuine. Now what were you and Zoro exactly? You weren't sure. You were both friends, but it felt so much more on your end.
You didn't want to ruin that friendship though, because you cherished him. You did attempt to bottle up your emotions, but he wasn't making it any better. He'd always have these pet names to call you, like 'princess' or 'mamas', even 'peaches.'
You weren't sure if it was intentional, but it did make your heart swell. About six months have passed since you met them, and they all wanted to meet you so badly. You finally gave in, and you all planned to meet at the party their mutual friend was having.
Since they were scattered at the party, you met them one by one, and they immediately discovered who you were whenever you threw a subtle hint at them. Luffy, literally threw himself on you, giving you the biggest hug. He knew it was you after you called him by the nickname you gave him. He was giggling so much, pushing your cheeks together in adoration. Chopper was with him, as he cried happy tears, latching himself onto your leg. Luffy was taller than you thought, surprised that he was actually taller than you.
After that, Nami guided you to Robin, who was with Franky at the time. They both literally towered over you, since they were taller than 6 feet. Franky immediately called you a shorty, also dramatically crying tears, quoting he was happy to finally meet his 'little sister'. Robin smiled warmly, as you both hugged each other. She complimented your appearance, stating that you looked absolutely breathtaking. She also whispered into your ear, saying Zoro probably wouldn't be able to control himself after he sees you. It made you blush hysterically since she knows about your crush on him.
You then met Brook, who was sticking out like a sore thumb in the crowd because of his astonishing height. Of course, he automatically asked to see your panties, which resulted in you smacking him. Nevertheless, he laughed loudly and hugged you tight, complimenting your appearance by calling you angelic. He was one of the members of the crew that you related to so much since you both loved music and had similar tastes. He would even send you his music playlists, asking for your opinions on the workpiece.
When you saw Sanji, he didn't realize it was you at first. He was in the kitchen, cooking meals for the party since the host's main chef abandoned his cooking. The first thing he had done was obviously flirt with you, calling you a beautiful maiden, asking for your hand in marriage. You giggled at the gesture, shaking your head to refuse the proposal. When he asked for your name, you simply told him to guess it. Randomly, he chuckled saying your name, thinking it couldn't possibly be you until you smiled at him, not answering.
"...[Name]?"
He was so bewildered at your beauty, immediately having a heavy nosebleed then and there. It was so bad that he was literally drenched in it. You did indeed help him, leading him to the nearest bathroom. You felt bad for him, but it was honestly hilarious how much of an effect you had on him.
By chance, when you came back to check on him, Usopp was there helping him clean himself up. Usopp already knew what you looked like because of a dare that was made in the group chat. Plus, you considered Usopp to be one of your best friends since you two had instantly clicked the moment you spoke with them on the game. He paused for a second, blinking as he flickered his eyes between you and Sanji, then solely resting his eyes on you.
"Oh my god, [Name]!"
He did the same thing Luffy did, latching himself onto you, rubbing his cheek against yours as he laughed loudly. He then pulled back, staring at you once again in disbelief, before pulling you right back in to another bone-crushing hug.
"I can't believe I'm finally seeing you in person, you're so adorable!"
Hearing him call you adorable made you blush slightly, cheesing at him.
"Shut up, you're gassing me up too much."
He lets out a boisterous laugh, playing with your hair a bit, letting you part from the hug. You both spoke for a bit, catching up on everything, and explained that Zoro was looking for you even though he didn't want to admit it. You bit your lip nervously, not ready to face him. You were so nervous that you even considered going back home, but that would make you a pussy.
The only person you didn't meet yet was Zoro.
That led you to your current situation, in the bathroom exasperatedly trying to calm your nerves down, as Nami praised you and gave you some pensive encouragement.
Little did you know, Nami was planning on having you meet Zoro unexpectedly. She was informed by Robin that Zoro was upstairs in the arcade room, which was surprisingly empty after someone had passed out on the floor from losing a drinking contest with Zoro. It's a good thing that he only drank a minuscule amount, (well what HE considers small) because he promised himself that he would be sober so that he can meet you properly. Believe it or not, he was also a bit nervous. He had no idea what you looked like, not that he cared for looks anyway, making fall solely for your personality.
Your phone began to ring in your pocket, which you took out to take a look at. Robins's name flashes, and you slide it open to answer your phone.
"Hi, [Name]! you left your jacket behind when we departed, but don't worry, I have it with me. I'll hold onto it whenever you'd like to come get it. I'm upstairs inside the arcade room."
"Oh shit, thank you, Robin. I was looking for it too. I'm coming to you right now, be there in a sec."
After you hung up, you let out a sigh of relief. That jacket was expensive as fuck. You don't remember leaving it behind, but you didn't think too much on it and remained grateful that it wasn't stolen. While you were putting your phone in your pocket, you noticed Nami smirking to herself, trying to contain her laughter."
"Girl, what are you laughing at."
"Don't worry about it, go get your jacket."
"Bitch, How did you know-"
She immediately pushed you out of the bathroom, locking it up as you stumbled, catching yourself from falling. You grumbled to yourself, vowing that you'd get her back for that.
You made your way upstairs, avoiding the drunken couples that were sucking face against the walls. As you passed some rooms, you saw the sign 'Arcade Room' in huge bold letters, seeing the doors closed.
For some unknown reason, you felt chills run down your spine. Nevertheless, you opened the door, and slipped inside, shutting the door behind you. You took a quick look around, noticing how empty the place was.
'Why the fuck is it so empty in here.. usually the arcade places at parties are surrounded by people.'
"Hey, Robin? You in here?"
There was an eerie silence for a few moments, indicating that no one was there. You sighed, thinking she had left this room after growing bored. She could've at least contacted you to let you know that she was moving to another location.
Before you could turn around to leave, the door to the arcade opened, and slammed shut. It startled you, making you turn around to face whoever entered. As soon as you looked at the person, your heart dropped. You felt as if your heart was going to burst right out of your chest.
"Ah, sorry. Didn't know someone was in here."
The person who entered the room was Zoro, in the flesh. He was so breathtaking.. not only were his pictures attractive but seeing him in person was a whole nother level. The man stood tall, at around six feet, with enormous biceps. His black shirt was also unbuttoned, giving you a glimpse of his strong-toned chest, along with the long scar on his chest and endless abs. The scar on his eye complimented his appearance even more. The man was just so attractive, it made your nerves skyrocket. He also had a prominent frown on his face. He was like a walking sex god.
He must've noticed you checking him out, scowling a bit as he cleared his throat to catch your attention.
"O-Oh! Sorry.."
You immediately turned around, facing the TV in embarrassment. You shut your eyes, releasing a breath of air out of your lungs.
'Fuck, why did he have to be so damn handsome. He is way out of my league.. I'm gonna combust.'
He narrowed his eyebrows suspiciously, wondering why you were in this room in the first place. Everyone had left after the drinking contest, so there was no reason for another person to be in here. Unless you wanted to play games by yourself.
He huffed out, walking over to sit on the couch, closing his eyes to take a short rest. His eye opened a bit to take a glance at you after he noticed you not moving an inch from that spot, seemingly standing there frozen.
"Oi, you just gonna stand there all day?"
"Zoro."
Hearing his name being called from you made his wary glance deepen. It made him wonder how you know who he was. It would make sense if you knew him from the media since he was a pretty popular guy.
"Do I know you?"
You turned around, feeling his heavy gaze on your figure, as his eyes trailed up to your face. He thought you were an attractive woman, but another person was on his mind, who was quite literally standing in front of him.
"Yea, you do. You dumbass."
His eyebrow arched in confusion, having no clue who you were.
"No the fuck I don't. Where do I know you from?"
"Look at my damn clothes."
His eyes raked over your clothes, thinking back to when you had asked him what to wear for the party so that he could spot you easily.
"I better catch you wearin' that so I can find you, princess."
His eye widened, immediately jumped up onto his feet to stare intensely at you for a few seconds.
"[Name]?"
You smiled at him brightly, giggling to yourself that he finally realized who you were. It took you so much courage to even hold a regular conversation with him right now. You were still just as nervous as you were before.
"The one and only."
He was in disbelief, cursing at the fact that he was obliviously talking to you in this room. No wonder you were standing there. He felt like such an idiot. He walked over to you, which made you promptly turn around to face the TV once again. You were still nervous, but you attempted to shake them off.
"Give me a second."
He could sense that you were internally shaking, the nerves overcoming your body as he grinned, chuckling out loud. Hearing his chuckle in person made your heart jump. It was so sexy yet adorable at the same time.
He stood right behind you without you even taking notice, leaning down towards your ear to whisper a word that would cause your insides to discombobulate.
"Princess."
You gasped as he grabbed your waist, guiding you to turn around and face him, while you struggled in his grasp to resist him. He was undeniably strong, so he held you in place by force. You couldn't run away at all, even if you tried. Due to the proximity, you closed your eyes shut, not wanting to face him, to prevent yourself from doing something stupid.
"[Name], look at me."
"No way."
You shook your head in refusal, not wanting to open your eyes to look at him. Opening your eyes would make you come to terms with your feelings for him.
"Come on.." He leans down towards your face, placing a soft kiss on your cheek. "Open your eyes for me."
"Why should I."
"Because." This time, he places a kiss on your nose. "I wanna see how pretty your eyes are."
He continued to kiss your face gently, from your forehead to your cheek, and your nose, avoiding your lips altogether.
"You're so cute, just as I expected."
Shivers ran down your spine as one of his hands, trailed up to place onto your neck, softly gripping it as his thumb rubbed slow, soothing circles on your throat.
"Beautiful.."
Just from that, you decided to open your eyes, staring right into his. He was smiling, which is something that he rarely does. His smile was so beautiful and genuine, something you never thought you'd witness in real life. He was known to be quiet, blunt, and aggressive, but from your point of view, he's a selfless gentleman that would willingly do anything to protect the people he cared about. Your heart didn't think it could take anymore. He let go of your neck, opening his arms, gesturing for you to hug him. You wasted no time, wrapping your arms around his neck as his wrapped around your lower back, holding you flushed against his chest. You both let out a sigh, basking in the lovely moment of holding each other.
He was so warm and big, you had to stand on your tippy toes just to even hug him properly. You buried your head onto his neck, as his aroma inhaled your senses. He smelled so good, the scent was very pleasant indeed to your nostrils.
You both laughed in joy, content in the happy moment of serenity. He tipped back, lifting you slightly off the ground as he twirled around, with your laughter increasing.
"Zoro! I'm gonna get dizzy."
"But I wanna keep holding you.."
"I know, at least put me down."
Zoro looked at you for a second, seemingly in thought, until he smirked, wiggling you in his grip.
"Nah, I got a better idea."
"What-"
You let out a small squeal, as he suddenly grabbed the back of both your thighs, lifting them up to have you wrap them around his waist.
"Mhm.. much better."
You rolled your eyes at him, as he slightly lifted you up into the air to bounce you in his arms, dropping you back down again to wrap your legs around his waist firmly.
"What if somebody comes in?"
"Too fuckin' bad.” He scoffed, nipping at your neck playfully as you gasped from the sudden intrusion. “I've been waiting way too long to do this."
You laughed, poking his cheek with your pointer finger. "Didn't realize you were this affectionate."
His smile faltered, as he glared at you, airing it as a warning sign to you. His menacing look at you made you feel hot inside. Honestly, anything he did turned you on.
"Don't make me drop you, 'cause I will."
"You wouldn't."
"Try me."
You narrowed your eyes at him, sighing in detest. "You drop me and I'll kill yo' ass."
"Who says I wasn't gonna do that after this.." He mumbled under his breath but stopped to hold in his laughter after he sees the glare you sent his way.
"Zoro stop playin' with me."
He chuckled and ignored your empty threat, walking over to set you down onto a cleared table. He pushed your thighs apart, settling to stand in between them, as you re-wrapped your arms around his neck. For some odd reason, he was staring at you so intently, with you not being able to read his blank expression. It definitely made you nervous, since you weren't used to seeing him in person. You looked behind him, avoiding his face altogether.
"What? Am I that good looking?"
He scoffed, not wavering his intense stare. "You're gorgeous, but that's beside the point. I'm waiting."
You reverted your eyes to him, confused about what he meant by waiting. What was he even waiting for?
"Waiting for what?"
"Don't act like you don't know."
Your eyebrows furrowed, confused even more.
"I actually don't know, you moss head. Tell me."
He grunts, lifting his hand up to flick your forehead, making you flinch from the slight sting. "What you said you'd do when you first see me."
When you'd first see him?
You hummed in thought, attempting to reminisce if you ever say anything about that. The only time you ever said anything about seeing him was a few weeks ago, him teasing you that you'd pussy out on meeting him. Once he said that you got irritated, stating that you'd kiss him on the first link-up just to prove your point.
'Shit..' you were only bluffing when you said that.
He noticed your eyes widen, his smirk deepening knowing that you figured out the root of what he was talking about.
You took your arms off of his neck, folding them together once you noticed his taunting demeanor. "I don't know what you're talking about."
"Nah, you know exactly what i'm talkin' about, [Name]. Don't play dumb."
"Nope. Not a clue."
His hand trailed up to reach for your chin, grabbing it sternly and tilting it towards him. His thumb was slowly rubbing circles on your chin, soothing your nerves and letting you relax. "Don't lie to me, sweetheart.."
Your heart skipped a beat, letting out a staggering breath as he leaned down towards your ear, nibbling on it gently.
"Or I'll have to punish you."
Internally, you were fighting with yourself from being in this situation, you're usually a brat towards him on the phone, but in person he was making your insides melt. Fuck, you felt disappointed in yourself with how much he was affecting you.
"Loss for words?" Letting out a laugh as he leaned back, observing the submissive look on your face. He could get used to this, satisfied with himself to see you so acquiescent and submissive just for him. Only for him. Zoro's a very possessive man, even with his own enemies.
"You're so fuckin' cute. It's driving me crazy."
"S-Shut up!"
You hated to say it, but you honestly didn't mind this. You felt like you were crazy for even admitting it in your mind because anyone being able to tame you was a hard task, even for your parents. You were known to be a brat, having a smart mouth. So to witness him having you in such a trance, was devastating to say the least.
You tried to hide your face this time, lifting your hands to cover it but he swiftly grabs them, placing them back onto his neck.
"Aw, getting all shy on me again, princess?"
You didn't respond, simply ignoring him in annoyance. If he was going to continue teasing you, then you'll just stop paying attention to it.
"You don't have to kiss me if you don't want to, I don't want to make you uncomfortable." He cups your cheek softly, squeezing the chubby cheek as he spoke to you.
"It's not that Zoro, I want to, badly even. I'm just scared to."
"You think I'm gonna do the same shit your ex did?"
Your silence clarified his answer, him sighing as he pulled you closer to him by your waist, having your legs on either side of him. You spread your legs a bit wider to adjust to his size. Zoro was huge compared to you.
"You're worth much more than to ever treated be that way. Everything about you is beautiful to me, [Name]. From the top of your head to the tip of your toes."
His eye trailed down to your plump lips, licking his lips as he resisted the urge to lean down and taste you.
"Even I don't deserve you, You're fuckin' perfect. I'll praise you every damn day just to remind you how gorgeous you are." You bit your lip from hearing those words, feeling your erratic heartbeat increase. Zoro is such a sweetheart and felt so grateful to have him in your life.
"Maybe I need to start by showing you how much I do."
You were confused by his words, opening your mouth to say something until he leaned down, his warm breath caressing your face as his lips captured yours in a gentle, sensual kiss, sending your eyes fluttering from the soothing draw of his skin against yours. His hand on the back of your head cradled you, keeping your face flushed against his.
At first, you were shocked that he was kissing you, giving it a few seconds until you started to move your lips against his, lips heavily locked. Once he felt you return the kiss, he smirks into it, tilting his head to deepen the kiss. He loves the way you taste, and now that he has gotten a taste, he's never letting you go. It was as if nothing else mattered. He poured all of his feelings and emotions into the kiss, biting your bottom lip, sucking it into his mouth, stroking your lips with his tongue for you to give him access, which you did. You pulled him closer, feeling his tongue brush up against yours and engulfed it completely, letting out soft moans that were swallowed up by his mouth.
As your soft hands brush along the nape of his neck and pinch at strands of his mint hair, you feel his huge calloused hands run along your thighs and waist. When Zoro roughly gripped and squeezed the round cheek of your ass, you gasped for air as his other hand started to trace intricate patterns over your back. Slowly, he moves his hand up to the front of your neck, wrapping his rough calloused hand around your smooth throat. He grips it, resulting in you letting out a small gasp as he gently sucked on your tongue.
'Damn, he know how to snatch a persons soul out just from a kiss.'
The whole thing was mind-blowing to you, this was the best kiss you ever fucking had in your life. Scratch that, best make out session too. Your ex was horrible at it, always having drools of spit, teeth clashing, and everything. He even almost bit your tongue off. Plus, he was the first person you ever kissed, so having that as a learning experience was blasphemy. This was exactly what you'd been fantasizing about ever since you first met him all those months ago when Nami first added you to the game and you couldn't believe that it was actually happening right now. It felt so surreal.
"You're so fuckin' pretty... so pretty, baby."
He whispered against your lips between the heavy kisses, the table creaking from his bruising onslaught. He wants you, needs you. Needs to see you, touch you, taste you, feel you. He grunts, stealing your breath away with every kiss. He doesn't want to be away from you, chasing after your lips after you pull away.
"I don't wanna ever make you feel insecure while you're around me. I'ma make sure you never feel that way."
He pulled back, a thin line of saliva connecting you both as it broke apart. You are panting, face flushed and blushing deeply, with your lips puffed out due to being bitten on from a heavy make-out session.
He leaned down and licked a slow stride up your neck, pampered soft kisses over your jaw until his mouth hovered over your ear.
"Now that I have you, I ain't ever letting you go."

MINORS DNI
(bounce)
You and your husband have been terrorized by your little infant, crying, screaming, and throwing tantrums. It was almost impossible to get her to calm down, but when she did it wasn’t for long. When she was asleep you would try your best to quickly tidy up all her toys and her highchair just so you can have some peace of mind. Zoro was also a great help too, when It came to take care of the baby. He would give her bubble baths, feed her, and keep her entertained while you're trying to catch up with some sleep. Even though with all the pain and frustrations you can’t bring yourself to be mad at the situation at all.
But due to all of that you and Zoro had barely any time to even sleep in the same bed?!? As you were busy taking care of the baby, Zoro was also preoccupied with work. You guys had no time at all for each other! So you come up with a brilliant idea, you drop off your little baby girl at your parents house for the weekend, and clean up the house. You take a nice steamy shower and put on your most seductive lingerie you own and waited.
Alerted by the sounds of the keys clicking, you stay in the bedroom awaiting your husband.
Leisurely, Zoro twists the bedroom door knob flinching at the provocative sight. You laying in bed, in a too tight lingerie laying down. You get up immediately and greet your husband. “Hey baby, how was work?” you ask, giving him a fat kiss on his cheek.
“Uh It was fine” He says clearly startled by your appearance. “Where's Kamora?” He asks scanning the room.
“I dropped her off at my parents, and trust me they are elated to see their granddaughter” You reply tapping him on his chest.
“Why?”
“Because I wanted to have some us time, we've barely had any time for the both of us, alone.” You pout “Plus I wanna treat you, since you've been working so hard lately” you say trailing you acrylic down his chest. “What do you say papa?”
Zoro positioned on the edge of your bed with you on your knees. You drag both his pants and his boxers down, and you are met with his throbbing dick. Marveling at it in all its glory you reach for the base and spit on it using it as  a makeshift lubricant. Swiftly you start stroking in a vertical motion going up and down on his large cock. You can hear Zoro moan above, “You like it like this?, honey” you whisper but just loud enough that Zoro can hear. Nodding his head you hear him let out a small whimper “Yeaah let it all out for mama” You grin, with one hand still stroking, you bring your breast wrapping them around his dick.
Bouncing up and down you envelop his dick within your large titties, going nice and slow. Using your hands you usher up your tits, swallowing up his poor penis. You feel it twitching, “Baby are you gonna cum?” You tease, pecking his tip. “It’s okay, cum all over mamas titties” and as if it was on command zoro came all over your chest. “It felt good didn’t it?” You ask, letting out a small giggle..
’Mhmm’ Zoro moaned.
Kissing his cock, you go down slowly leaving no area untouched and leaving salvia everywhere. Licking upwards you insert his tip between your lips. Gradually you admit his whole cock into your mouth. At a faster pace you start rocking back and forth, wrapping your warm tongue around his dick, taking it in so sloppily. Using your hands you enfold the rest of his fat cock and twist around in a fluid motion. You continue this for another thirty seconds until you feel zoro's dick tremor in your mouth. With no warning, you feel zoro's warm sticky cum lodges in your throat. Releasing his cock with a smooth ‘pop’ sound you smile, “Oh my god baby, you are so sensitive. Have you missed me?” You muse grinning upwards looking at your husband's flustered face.
“yes” Zoro shyly replies
“You are so cute papa” you marvel while rising up towards his face, leaning towards his lips and kissing him. He then opens his mouth and enters , bit by bit your tongue enters and works its way onto his. You push him down carefully so that now you are still on top of him. Still kissing, you bite down on his bottom lip and he lets out a small whimper.
You crawl down, now onto his pelvis region, you sensually remove your lingerie displaying your leaking cunt. You climb onto his dick, letting the slick from your pussy help ease it in. You gasp from sensation, continuing to position yourself upon his dick. You grab Zoro's still hands and situate them on your hips. “Cmon baby you can't expect me to take all this by myself” you pout a lil teasing zoro. Hearing your pleas he strengthens his grip on your hips and assists down his dick.
“Ah” you cry out, feeling his dick all up in your vagina. Firmly you press your hands against his abdomen using it as support and start bouncing. You start going up and slowly, but once you get more comfortable you start going in a faster motion. Adjusting into smooth tempo, your ass smacking against his pelvis noises filling up the room, you whine from the movement. Feeling his dick sliding up and down your cunt. Wailing from how good it feels to be so full. Mesmerized, zoro studies your breasts as they follow the rhythm of your bounce. Guiding his fingers to your nipples, squeezing them. Milk spurts out.
“Mmm” You wail “You can't do that, it's for kamora sweetie” You say gasping, exhausted. Your legs are sore from the endless bouncing. Your hands still placed on his stomach, you pick up the pace, going faster. You feel Zoro squirming underneath you. “Cum in me, i want another one please.” You plead, leading one of your fingers towards your tummy where his dick bulge is displayed. This drives him crazy and he shoots it up your pussy, painting your walls white. Your orgasm comes flooding down just right after. “Agh” you squeal out, collapsing down on Zoro's chest.
“Not too much, what about kamora?” you whine, gently tapping the side of zoro's face. Latched onto your right nipple draining all you have. You guys are laying down under yalls sheets, zoro as the little spoon indulging himself into your boobs.
“But it's so sweet mommy” Zoro sulks, leaving a small saliva trail on your titty.
“Well when you say it like that, only a little bit more ok?”
Zoro nods, and resumes sucking. Whilst you comb your hot pink acrylics through his short stubby minty hair

Why are you laughing?!
Pairing - Zoro x male reader
Genre - fluff, jealousy
Word count- 920
Tumblr media
I smiled as I sat on the railing of the Thousand Sunny with Nami and Robin lounging in their chairs on deck. I was secretly trying one of Sanji’s special drinks for the girls; being one of the many guys on the ship I didn’t get the special treatment like the girls got. But Robin didn’t mind sharing a few sips of her drink with me. After the first sip I went straight to the kitchen to beg Sanji to make me one, it was so fruity and refreshing I just had to have some. But Sanji’s glare fixed me at the door immediately “C’mon Sanji I just want a little drink!” I yelled running around the kitchen to escape the livid cook “Those are only for Nami and Robin!” he yelled as I shrieked with laughter running out of the kitchen as the door slammed shut behind me to keep me out.
I fell to the floor rolling on my sides as laughter consumed me. Luffy soon joined me in my laughter from the figure head of the Sunny, as we both calmed down I let out a soft groan as my ribs hurt from laughing so hard. Getting up I sat back with Nami and Robin conversing on random topics when Nami stopped mid-sentence and smiled knowingly while Robin gave a small chuckle.
I furrowed my brows in confusion, about to ask her to continue when a hand snaked around my waist and a scent I knew all to well filled my senses, light lavender and bergamot mixed with the heavy smell of leather and sandalwood accompanied by the strong scent of steel. There was only one man on the Thousand Sunny that smelt like that, Roronoa Zoro. I sighed leaning back into his chest, I picked up on his tense muscles and I held his hand that was around my waist. “Crows nest, five minutes” and with that he was gone just as suddenly as he appeared. After he had climbed back up to the crows nest Nami let out a laugh full and unashamed “looks like you’re in trouble~” she said in between laughs and giggles. Robin simply smirked “You should go see him, it sounded serious.”
I was puzzled and tilted my head in confusion, I was sure I hadn’t done anything to piss off the swordsman but alas he seemed upset with me for some reason. I knew I hadn’t forgotten any important dates, our anniversary wasn’t until another five months, and his birthday had already passed so what was I missing? I couldn’t help but wonder as I climbed the rope ladder to the crow’s nest.
Opening the door, I was met with the sight of Zoro training tirelessly with sweat dripping down his chest. I was compelled to stare but stopped myself as I pushed the door open to announce my presence to Zoro. Once he knew I was there he scoffed and put his weights down, he then went to sit down on the makeshift bed that I made out of spare blankets and pillows. Confused, I followed his movements by coming to sit beside him. I softly put my hand on his shoulder searching his face for any signs of what I could have done wrong.
After a moment he shrugs my hand off his shoulder, my eyes widened as a small panic began to set into my stomach. “Zoro what’s wrong?” He remained silent. My panic began to rise while Zoro was never really one to initiate physical touch, he never denied it either, which made this situation all the more confusing and stressful. “Zoro what’s gotten into you, you’re being so cold” he scoffed and turned to face me, anger written all over his features. “I’m being cold to you?” he asked incredulously “Yea? Well what’s going on between you and that damned cook recently? You two seem awfully damn close here recently.” I was shocked, Roronoa Zoro was…jealous? But he continued “If you’re going to leave me for that damn cook just get it over with already” At that I couldn’t help the small chuckle bubbling in my throat as I hit his chest weakly while laughing.
After a few hits he grabbed my wrists holding them away from his chest. “what’s so damn funny!?” I struggled to breathe smiling looking up at him “you’re jealous Zoro!” his eyes widened at that “I am not jealous. I’m just stating things the way I see them and what’s so funny?!” He said angrily. I smiled wiping tears from my eyes as my laughter died out “Roronoa Zoro, I am not going anywhere especially not with Sanji, the only reason I was in the kitchen was to get him to make me a fruit drink like he makes for Nami and Robin” I explained and for a moment I could see the gears turning in his head till he huffed and turned away grumbling.
I smiled, shaking my head then kissed the apple of his cheek. Before I could pull away, he pulled me into a sincere kiss full of emotion. I pulled away slightly after a while to breathe, still sharing breaths from the close proximity of our bodies. “I’m sorry for jumping to conclusions” he mumbled against my lips. I giggled “It’s ok, I still and always will love you, Zoro” he pulled me to rest my head on his chest as he laid down. We fell asleep soon after with the stars to watch over us.

fluff ! mutual pining ! flirting ! university / sports team!au
zoro likes the look of the new cheerleader who can't keep her eyes off him
Tumblr media
it had been exactly a week and three days since you'd moved to the grand university, and your new life was turning out much different than you'd espected.
exactly three minutes after walking into your first class, you'd learnt almost everything about the red haired girl currently on your right, and had already agreed to try out for the cheerleading team.
nami, the read head, was extremely friendly and never let you go anywhere on your own, and due to just how large the school was you'd never been so greatful.
shaking your head, you paid attention to the way your skirt flittered slightly around the top of your thighs, the bike-shorts underneath peaking at the bottom. the uniform was orange overall with white accents, the skirt sitting just above your hips and the top cutting off just below your ribs.
nami, who was already dressed and ready to go, had been helping you set your hair right. this was the first game of the season and you were, understandably, nervous.
"stop frowning, you'll crease your foundation." nami flicked you in the forehead slightly, kicking your shoes towards you.
"i can't help it." you sat on the change-room bench and changed your socks, making sure to keep your feet off the ground until you placed them in your shoes. "i've never done anything like this, nami."
"you're a natural," she sat beside your and threw an arm around you. "besides, people won't really pay attention to you much since you're on the side." you let out a sigh and smiled at her.
"okay okay, we're gonna be late, c'mon!" grabbing her pole, which she used in the routine, the two of you made your way towards the stadium.
"nami!" you glanced towards nico robin, one of the taller girls on the squad, before looking back over to the field, where the school's team was wandering over to the three of you. nami had her arms wrapped around you, trying her best to warm you up. the rest of the girls had gotten used to the cold win, but you had yet to. "give me a kiss for goodluck?"
"not a chance, sanji. don't you have a game to prepare for?" blackleg sanji was one of the boys who nami had tried to keep you away from, claiming that while he never really overstepped boundaries, he was obsessed with women.
"i can always spare a minute or two for my girls!" he winked, his eyes rolling over to you. "oh-ho! who might this pretty thing be?"
"none of your business, sanji! go away" nami took her arms from around you and pushed on his chest, leaving you just as cold as before.
you all watched them interact, sanji thanking nami for speaking to him and her responding by kicking him in the shins. you shivered, pulling your arms around you.
your routine had gone perfectly, and the entire squad had congratulated you on it, so your nerves were no longer an issue. however, the tips of your fingers turning blue happened to be.
the horn sounded before you could think, and the boys raced over to the middle of the field, nami happily skipping back over to you.
"hey, is that zoro's?" it took you a minute to realise she was looking at you, pointing at the jacket that sat around your shoulders. you hand't even noticed it, but now that it was slung on your shoulders you felt much warmed and shoved your hands into the pokcets.
"who? i'm- i don't even remember putting it on." nico rolled her eyes at you.
"he put it on your shoulders before the horn sounded." you lookaed around the field and then glanced back at her. "he's got the green hair." you glanced out on to the field in time to see zoro wink at you before turning back towards the game.

online friends? – Zoro SFW
Tumblr media
characters: zoro roronoa x fem!reader
fluff | SFW
word count: 2.7k
She grumbled under her breath, fingers gliding across the console as she delved into the game with her online friends. It was an all-guy gang, which is why she chose to keep her mic on mute. Sure, she interacted with them, but it was through the safety net of the chat lobby. Using the mic felt like opening a can of worms—better to let them assume she was just another dude. After all, did it really matter? Online, she went by the name 'Solar' to keep a comfortable distance from revealing her real identity.
Zoro's voice blasted through the mic, cutting through the virtual battlefield. "Oi! Solar, what the hell was that?!"
She laughed to herself, Zoro was so easy to annoy. She just kept following his avatar around instead of actually playing the game, it was so fun to mess with him.
Reluctantly, she found herself acknowledging a truth she wasn't eager to admit – there was an undeniable allure and charm to Zoro's voice. It was deep, soothing and downright hypnotising – it sent a shiver down her spine. His words carried a certain charisma that managed to captivate even in the midst of a virtual battle. And if his display picture was any indication, his face was just as attractive as his voice.
With a silent sigh, she pondered the weirdness of being drawn to someone purely based on their virtual presence. How is that normal? She thought.
"Oh, that's great," he growled, but couldn't help the annoyed laugher as he tried to dodge her attempts at disrupting him. "Play the damn game asshole!”
Sanji piped up from his headset, “Shut up mosshead, you’re distracting the rest of us.”
"You shut up, shitty cook! And Solar man, play the damn game I said!" Zoro quickly got bored of being chased around by her avatar and instead started chasing her character.
She huffed and made her avatar run away from Zoro. It was times like these she wished she could just switch her mic on and partake in the banter with her gaming crew, but alas, they didn't know that she was a woman...yet.
Usopp's voice echoed through the mic, a mischievous tone evident in his words. "Oooo Zoro and Solar, sitting in a tree. Get a room guys, bleugh."
He couldn’t deny the fact that their countless midnight texts had gotten him to form somewhat of a crush on ‘Solar’. Solar just… got him. But he quickly shoved any thoughts of it advancing past online buddies because the thought of being in love with a person who he had never seen let alone heard seemed absurd to him.
A chorus of laughter erupted from the rest of the crew. She rolled her eyes at Usopp's teasing, her fingers still deftly navigating the game controls to keep her avatar one step ahead of Zoro's relentless pursuit.
Zoro, not one to back down, retorted with a gruff, "Shut it, Usopp! Stop making shit awkward, Solar is probably a 60 year old man."
Sanji spoke up quickly, "Yeah and he'd still be out of your league dumbass."
She chuckled under her breath, contemplating whether it was time to break her silence and join in on the banter.
"God, you guys are annoying." he groaned as he paused the game, turning to face his screen as if he would be able to see them through it. They were assholes, but she couldn't help but laugh at their comments, especially the one Sanji directed at Zoro.
He was so caught up in his frustration that he didn't notice her pausing the game. Maybe it was time to finally let them know who she was...
In a moment of bold spontaneity, she reached for the mic attached to her headset, her fingers hesitating for a split second before gripping it firmly. With a swift motion, she unmuted herself, the subtle click signalling the end of her silence.
"I can assure you that I'm not a 60 year old man." She spoke, feigning confidence. This was the first time the guys realised that she was in fact, a woman.
Zoro froze at her voice, she sounded so...soft-spoken. His heart jumped in his chest as he quickly put two and two together.
He didn't know what to say at first, his whole vocabulary had gone out the window as he stared at his screen.
"W-what did you say?" He finally let out, sounding like an idiot.
Luffy piped up, cutting Zoro’s sentence short, “Wait, is this why you didn’t want to talk on the mic?”
“Yes.”
“Huh…it doesn’t matter who you are to us, you kick ass on the daily, you didn’t have to worry about us reacting in a negative way…c’mon Solar, I thought you knew us by now.”
“My love, I bet you’re as beautiful as you sound – I am extremely blessed to be talking to you right now.”
“Oi shut up Sanji! Stop being creepy. This is probably why she didn’t want to tell you.” Usopp snapped but laughed into the mic.
A soft laughter escaped her lips, and with each gentle chuckle, the tension that had nestled in her nerves seemed to wash away quickly. She couldn’t help but feel slightly embarrassed about the whole situation, her cheeks growing flushed at the teasing from her friends. Thankfully, they had taken the news well and didn’t treat her any differently, well, besides Sanji. The other men laughed at him, his excessive flirting, making her let out another soft chuckle.
Zoro felt as though he could breathe again as her laughter filled his ears. The way that she laughed caused his chest to ache, a smile spreading across his face as he focused on her voice.
"Why the silence, Zoro?" she teased quietly.
Part of her still felt a little nervous, was he going to be awkward? Is this going to change their midnight texting ritual now that he knew she was a woman? Surely it shouldn't matter? But why was he being quiet? Her heart sunk slightly at the thought of losing his friendship.
Zoro's mouth opened and closed, like a fish out of water, he didn't know how to respond. She had just caught him off guard, his brain didn't really register what was happening at the moment.
He tried to find his voice but ended up stuttering instead. In all honesty, he felt like everything that he could've said at that moment would've been cheesy or just made him look like an idiot.
Before he could respond Luffy spoke up, "Alright crew, I'm logging off. I have work tomorrow." Which was followed by a chorus of 'same' from the rest of the group.
She frowned at the screen when they all left the lobby, was Zoro going to leave too?
"I...guess I'll log off too," he finally let out, his eyes drifting to the exit button. But a spark flared within his heart, making him pause his action.
Instead, he muted himself and waited. She raised her brow and bit her bottom lip, feeling nervous. Why didn’t he leave?
"Hey? You still here, Zoro?”
For a solid ten seconds, Zoro didn't respond, causing her to grow anxious in the silence. Surely he was just busy with his exit button? Then why hadn't he left yet?
"Yo." He finally let out, just as the silence turned awkward. Her head shot back at her screen, surprised to find him still there.
"So..." She started, not knowing what to say to him, not wanting to stop talking to him either.
And neither did he. Zoro's fingers hovered over the mouse, the cursor hovering over the close button. But he couldn't bring himself to press it.
He wanted to continue their conversation, to hear more of her voice.
"So, you still wanna talk?" He finally asked, hoping she would say yes.
"...yes." She squeaked awkwardly. Why on earth was she feeling so nervous? This is ridiculous she thought.
"Uh..." Zoro couldn't help but chuckle, she was obviously flustered. How he enjoyed hearing the sweet tone of her voice. She was so adorable.
"You sound nervous." He let out, making her cheeks grow hot.
"I do not!" She protested, "I'll have you know, I am perfectly okay.”
"Yeah? We both know you're lying." he teased, and she could almost hear the smirk on his voice.
"You sound nervous, don't deny it. Hey, it's alright to be flustered around this hunk of a man." he teased, making her blush darker.
"Ha! Hunk of a man? You're probably not the most attractive, but that's okay, we all still love you very much Zoro." She retorted, obviously she knew was most likely attractive.
He had to be, his profile picture was of a green haired man's side profile (which she had assumed was him).
He laughed loudly at her comeback, and her cheeky tone only caused his smile to widen. She took no bullshit from him, and he admired that about her.
“What makes you think that I’m not attractive?” He challenged. The man knew he was a walking thirst trap but he liked his ego stroked every once in a while.
"Just a hunch." She laughed into the headset and looked up at her bedroom ceiling.
"Oh yeah?" His tone rose, trying to challenge her.
"Why don't we bet on it? I show you what I look like, and if I'm not attractive then you leave the call. But if you do find me attractive, then you have to give in to one request of mine.”
"And what is your request exactly?" She asked quietly, the thought of seeing him making her feel giddy.
"You'll have to wait and find out. Besides, that's the fun part of a bet, isn't it?" He was being cheeky, knowing that her curiosity would have her agree.
"Ugh, fine!”
"Okay then, you ready to see me or what?" He teased, feeling a rush from the banter they were having.
"Hurry up, I can't wait to be proven right." She laughed, knowing very well she was wrong. She wanted to see him.
He chuckled and clicked the camera button on his computer, allowing his webcam to run as the screen switched to him. Her heart hammered in her chest when she focused her eyes on the screen in front of her. It took a few seconds before the image stabilised, revealing him, and his gorgeous face. He had short green hair that fell in all the right places and piercing eyes which went hand in hand with a lopsided smirk.
For a lack of better words, he was hot. She felt her cheeks heat up further in response, thanking the stars that he couldn't see her reaction.
“So, I take it you lost the bet?" He let out the question in a sarcastic tone, confident in his own attractiveness.
He raised an eyebrow, tilting his head to the side slightly as he waited for a response from her, smirk still on his face. Her compliment would be nice, but just her being speechless would have to suffice.
She coughed to bring her thoughts to a halt, and clear her throat. "Fine, you win. What was the request?”
"I get to choose anything I want you to do with zero objection from you." he said smugly, the corner of his lips curling up into a sly grin.
"Uhuh. What is it?" She somehow already felt like she knew what was coming.
"I want you to be my date for a night." He teased, letting out a chuckle as he spoke.
Okay, she didn’t know that this was what was coming. He knew she'd roll her eyes at him for even suggesting. How was what he said even logical? They had just found out a more personal part of their lives, it would've been silly to be talking about dating.
"You don't even know how I look like." She deadpanned but her hands were shaking from the adrenaline.
Zoro chuckled, the sound coming through the headset sounding rather amused. "So, does that mean you won't even consider my request?" He playfully feigned hurt, placing his hand on his chest, flexing his arm muscles in the process (she couldn’t help but realise how built he was).
Besides, you and I both know there was more to this than just a friendship… the way we texted past midnight everyday? C’mon sweetheart.”
He was right, even before the face and voice reveal, there was definitely something brewing between them. She would tell him about her fears and dreams, him doing the same. Up until now it was just a faceless friendship, but even she couldn't deny how quickly it had progressed in the past hour or so.
"C’mon, let's get a little more intimate with this now that you know what I look like." he said smoothly, leaning forward a little and giving her a smirk.
"W-what?"
He threw his head back and laughed, he was so mesmerising – she needed to hear more of him, see more of him.
"Not like that, I meant, let me see how you look like." he said, grinning from ear to ear hoping she'd agree.
Zoro smirked at her stutter, it was obvious that she was trying not to blush. He had her right where he wanted her.
"Oh sweetheart, you know you want to. Don't hide from me now.” he continued teasingly, feeling the butterflies in his stomach begin to flutter at the playful bantering.
She held her breath and hovered her cursor over the show webcam button for a bit before biting the bullet to turn it on. She smiled and gave an awkward wave and bit down on her lip, not knowing how to interact with him. "Hey Zoro.”
Zoro paused upon her appearance on the screen, his smirk suddenly falling from his face. There she was- the woman that he had come to have feelings for even without the knowledge of each other’s appearance.
Her beauty was otherworldly, and her smile made her look absolutely irresistible.
"Fuck, you’re beautiful."
He let out the compliment without thinking, and then quickly paused. Why did he say that? It was just a compliment, but it sounded so...intimate.
Her eyes shot up at her camera and she blushed intensely, stuttering a soft thank you. He chuckled upon seeing her blush. How could someone be so cute? Her features are gorgeous but her personality is what made her even more attractive, she was cheeky but also shy. It was something that he couldn't resist.
"God, you're adorable when you blush." he teased, his tone teasing and playful, almost seductive.
"S-shut up." She looked away feeling embarrassed as a small smile graced her lips.
"I could keep teasing you like this all night, you know? It's a shame we're online and not in person, seeing you get all flustered like this makes me want to make you do things that make you blush more." he said in a teasing tone.
She gasped and hid her face in her hands, never did she expect her evening to go like this when she revealed her voice.
"Oh get your mind out the gutter woman, I meant I'll give you the tightest hug, which'll make you blush." He grinned, knowing that he definitely meant it in the way she imagined.
“So what do you say to that date? I remember you telling me you’re 30 mins away from me.”
She nodded, not knowingly trusting her voice to answer. She knew it would come out all stuttery and shaky.
"Then it's settled. We'll go out on Saturday evening, at the city centre station at 6PM sharp." He smirked, feeling satisfied with himself and how everything had turned out, her shyness aside.
With a new found confidence, she nodded again, this time with a smile. “It’s a date.”

Since m/m is so rare to find for one piece works, I'm gonna contribute and make some too!
I will not do certain non-con things. I will do any character from one piece (but if I don't really know them I'll watch some scenes and go from there)
I don't normally do angst bc I personally don't like it but I will do it if asked

The deck of the Going Merry was hot and blistering under the heat of the sun. You’d just taken a few steps outside when you turned right back around and bolted back below deck, grumbling as you found a set of shoes.
“Stupid heat,” you lamented, somewhat longing for the days you’d galivant your village barefoot without a care in the world. Now, you had a very many number of cares due to your new way of life.
Who knew piracy could be so stressful?
Certainly not you, but you wouldn’t trade any of this for the world. You may be fighting for your life every other Tuesday, but you were loved and cherished and that was something you treasured far more than the security of a home that didn’t jump on the waves.
Besides, the Going Merry was cozy once you got over the sea-sickness.
You raced back into the sunlight of daybreak, practically skipping as you headed up to the foredeck to meet the crew’s swordmans. You shouldn’t be so chipper to see him, after all he made it clear he didn’t want you intruding on his daily training. Still, you couldn’t help but admire Zoro in every sense of the word, and then some.
Nami said you were caught in the web of love. You only laughed, never once denying it, but never agreeing either.
The swordsman was just about to begin running through his katas without you, almost daring to hope you’d slept in. He knew it was foolish when he heard your cheerful humming as you bounded up to him, and then he was daring to be relieved you hadn’t forgotten.
(He liked your presence more than he’d ever admit to anymore, and that was a very close guarded secret).
“Ready?” he said simply, always wanting to tell you so many things, aching to ask you questions so mundane they felt silly, but always settling for one word. You never minded; that much was clear from the way your smile warmed and your eyes met his unabashedly.
“Always.” You beamed as he handed you one of his swords, Yubashiri, and Zoro quickly averted his gaze. You pretended not to see right through him. “Are you?”
“Hmm? Oh, yeah.”
By the end of an hour, you were thoroughly exhausted, yet somehow feeling alive enough to run a marathon. You spun the sword around your wrist, a trick Zoro had taught you a while back, and giggled to yourself, drawing Zoro’s attention.
Caught offguard by the way the sun beamed down and highlighted everything he liked about you, and how your skin shimmered like glass with how you sweat now, Zoro couldn’t help but stare and pray you didn’t notice.
The gods must’ve been merciful that morning, for you turned your back to get a drink from your water bottle the next moment, only turning back around once Zoro had composed himself. Still, you must have caught the awkward stiffness in his shoulders. You tilted your head the way you did when you were concerned, like some lost puppy, and Zoro’s heart dropped.
“You wanna stop now?” you asked without a hint of disappointment, but Zoro knew better. This was your favorite part of the day, or so you said. He hadn’t a clue as to why fighting him in the blazing sun was so memorable, but he never tried to come up with a reason why your smile was so bright every day.
Either way, he would never cut this short himself, for reasons quite beyond him.
“And leave it at a draw? Not a chance.”
That grin slid across your face, the one that told Zoro he’d wait for your every morning, even if you were three hours late, if sparring like this made you happy.
But then he made a mistake. He got too cocky, too comfortable—Zoro’s usually solid restraint wavered as you snickered and ducked under his sword, passing your hand over his side to tickle him. He stammered and jerked away, unable to help but smirk as he surged forward once more.
The next blow of the two swords knocked you off balance. You stumbled back, losing a solid grip, and raised the blade to parry another attack. Your sword faltered and clattered to the deck, but Zoro out too much power behind his move. The edge of his sword stabbed the air too close to your arm, and Zoro felt all the air leave his lungs.
Well, he thought it only caught the air until you inhaled sharply, fighting back a wince as he practically jumped away from you. Zoro’s sword was back in its sheath in seconds. He inched toward you, hovering a hand over your shoulder as crimson starting to spread from a slit in the material. “Shit, I—”
“It’s fine,” you said through a weak smile, rolling our your arm with a barely there laugh. “See? Just a scratch.”
“I’m—Sorry…” He searched for something better to say, eyes wide whilst you just grinned up at him, eyes all squinty.
You knelt to pick up Yubashiri from the ground with your good arm, handing it back to Zoro as tears started to well in the ducts of your eyes. A pit formed in Zoro’s chest as he just set the sword right back down, holding you by your good shoulder. He ignored your swatting hands an delicately pulled up your sleeve, gawking at the less-than-fine gash he’d inflicted.
His eyes darted up to meet yours suddenly; your hand was now placed over his, your gaze reassuring as you blinked swiftly. “Really, it was an accident. Don’ worry.”
Nodding, Zoro backed away silently, looking anywhere but at your face. “Should probably let Chopper look at that.”
You nodded too, waiting for him to say anything else, staying put for an awkward amount of time just watching him. You felt awful, really, even though you’re the one who got hurt. Hopefully, he wouldn’t beat himself up too much.
The next morning when you rose with the sun as you had every other day, you sauntered up to the deck with a sketchpad and pencil in hand. Zoro was leaning against the mizzenmast, idly tapping at the hilt of the Wado Ichimonji.
“Hey,” you greeted, inwardly sighing when his eyes were instantly drawn to the bandage on your arm. You stopped short and tilted your head, a tired look in your eye. “Look. I’m fine. I know it was accident. Let’s just move on, ‘kay?”
Instead of answering directly, he nodded at the sketchpad in your hand. “What’s the book for?”
“Chopper told me to take a break until it heals over,” you said with a roll of your eyes. Confusion swarmed Zoro’s face.
“So… if you’re not training, why’re you up?” Everyone else would still be asleep by now, save for the cook if he was doing breakfast that day.
You shrugged and nearly skipped to a barrel a few feet off, dragging it closer to where Zoro would be training and perching yourself atop it. You crossed your legs and set the pad in your lap. “I still wanna spend time with you.”
It was like you wanted to kill him, saying stuff like that. Zoro’s cheeks felt all warm all of a sudden as he cleared his throat, biting down on his lip to keep from smiling. He steeled his face with a grunt, muttering, “Back at you.”
Zoro might have shown off more than he normally would that day, and you might have ended with more sketches of him than needed.
As the rest of the crew rose from sleep and lumbered into the kitchen, Sanji asked Nami ever so sweetly to alert you that breakfast was served, and you could stop humoring the mosshead. Nami rolled her eyes, grinning as she bounded above deck only to falter as she found the foredeck empty.
A quick search led her to the afterdeck, where she stood silently out of sight, spotting two figures in the shade of her tangerine trees. Your spoke with avid hands, holding your sketchpad up for him to see, and Zoro listened with a captivity Nami didn’t think possible of him.
She chuckled as you leaned into him without realizing, distressing a frazzled Zoro. Eh. You two could probably do without breakfast. As strange as the pairing was, if you were happy, she was happy.
And from the way you looked at him as if the very stars were hung in his big dumb eyes, you were very happy indeed.
