PLA Dad Ingo and Uncle Emmet AU part 2
so here's part 2! I have such PLA brainrot its unbelievable...I blame my weakness for found family, especially the accidental child acquisition variety XD You can read part 1 here! I have also decided that Akari is not Dawn. I'm also aware I should probably name this au but I honestly cannot think of anything.
Back in Hisui Akari throws herself into the pokedex research, helping Volo along the way by capturing the likes of Heatran, Regigigas, Cresselia and receiving their plates as well. It's slow going but Akari is determined to get it done.
Those around her such as Rei and Laventon worry she is overworking herself in order to distract herself from Warden Ingo's absence. Akari denies this when asked but deep down she knows they're right. However she still refuses to listen to their urging to take it easy.
Akari rarely rests, running herself into the ground over the weeks to get closer to completing her goal. Volo who in the poor girls mind is one of the few people she can trust plays the perfect confidant, subtly manipulating Akari so that her attention shifts less on finding pokemon and more so on finding the plates. Two months after Ingo's departure there's only two plates left to find the ghost plate and the fist plate.
Of course Akari doesn't know Volo has had the ghost plate all along, the man in question is very pleased with their fast progress and thinks to himself perhaps he should have gotten rid of Ingo himself earlier if it meant Akari would listen so easily to him. Not that there's much to be done now Warden Ingo is gone and isn't going to be a problem anymore (That's what he thinks)
In fact the only way Akari properly rests these days is when Lady Sneasler finds her if she's in the highlands (Sneasler finds her every time). The noble will find Akari put her in her basket and carry her to her den and promptly depsoit her amongst her newest kits who excited to see one of their babysitters shower her with affection and then fall asleep on her. This leaves Akari with no choice but to stay there so as not to disturb them. She knows Sneasler is trying to look out for her in Ingo's stead so she can't be too upset when the noble tricks her into resting.
Due to Ingo's absence Akari not wanting to potentially cause tensions between Jublife and the Clans Akari is forced to return to Jublife more often. She knows she could still use Ingo's tent but finds herself unable to stay there because she misses him so much. She does however take one of his spare tunics and keeps it in her house in Jublife.
Sometimes when the whispers get too much or after she's forced into a meeting with Kammado (Rei, Cyllene and Laventon refuse to let her be alone with him, Akari is very grateful) she'll hug it close. As much as Akari misses him she can't regret sending him back to his brother.
Its two weeks later Akari finally works up the courage to face Kammado at Volo's urging. The crafty merchant gently tells her that she needs to face her fear so she can prove to herself Kammado can't pull a stunt like he did again. Akari while not entirely convinced agrees if only becomes Volo has always been kind to her and the fact he promises to stay nearby just in case.
Volo smirks to himself as he watches Akari face and defeat Kammado and subsequently receive the fist plate, it really has been too easy to manipulate the girl while she's missing the Warden. He tells Akari to meet him at the Temple of Sinnoh and she agrees saying she'll meet him there in two days time. Not knowing his true intentions and just how much danger she is in.
Meanwhile back in the present Emmet and Ingo after a hasty call to Elesa about Ingo's return and a request for her to ask Skyla when the next flight to Sinnoh will be the two begin to prepare for their Journey.
This of course means not 10 minutes after his call Elesa is at their door and sweeping the two of them into a hug before yelling at Ingo for disappearing and worrying them all for so long. Emmet leaves Ingo to explain himself to their best friend and sister and continues to prepare for going to Sinnoh.
Elesa at first wants to come with them but the twins gently remind her that Nimbasa city cannot be left without all of them for long and they do not know how long they will be gone for. Elesa reluctantly agrees on the condition the twins keep her updated as much as possible. They agree and spend a few days with Elesa as they make arrangements for the battle subway and such. Elesa agrees to take care of the pokemon they're not bringing and also agrees to manage the press while they're both away.
The two make their way to Mistralton City to meet Skyla. The gym leader is ready to go on their arrival and the twins waste no time. During the flight they learn all they can about Sinnoh's legendary pokemon and agree the best place to start is with the legendary lake trio after Ingo reveals that an item called the red chain was made from items received during trials with Lake guardians to help tame Dialga and Palkia. The two however are unable to find anything about the Temple of Sinnoh but agree to check out Spear Pillar on Mt Coronet due to the location.
It's through their research they learn about the story of creation and how Arceus and the world came to be. Based off what little Akari told him about her 'mission' and coupled with the presence of her Arc-phone in the past Ingo concludes that Arceus is most likely responsible for Akari ending up in Hisui. Though Ingo is still unsure of how exactly he ended up in Hisui. Emmet on the other is downright gleeful that they are potentially going to fight a god(he deserves to work through all his emotions due to past and current events and beating a god would be very good catharsis for him).
Once landing in Jublife the two get to work making their way to Lake Verity first. They stop to rest in Sandgem town and this is where Ingo and Emmet meet Lucas on their way to the pokemon centre. Ingo is struck by how much Lucas resembles Rei and while at the pokecentre the two end up striking up conversation with him. When they find out he is helping out professor Rowan the two ask if he knows anything about Mespirit, Azelf and Uxie. Lucas is happy to help them when they explain they are simply researching Legendary pokemon and their interest has brought them to Sinnoh. Of course it helps that the twins in turn tell Lucas the tale of Reshiram and Zekrom, who is enthralled and thanks them profusely.
After talking with Lucas and resting for the night the two make their way to the lake and to Ingo's surprise find Mespirit waiting for them. The two stick close to each other while Ingo explains why they are here. Mespirit is the being of emotion and questions Emmet on his feelings during is brothers absence and reappearance. Emmet answers freely and Ingo feels awful for putting his brother through all that with his unscheduled departure but it's Mespirits final question that catches them both off guard, because they thougt the answer was obvious.
Mespirit asks Emmet why he seems to care so much for a girl he's never met. To the twins who before Ingos abrupt disappearance had always been together its a very innocuous question. Emmet simply responds "I am Emmet, my brother is verrrry important to me, of course I would align my tracks and care for someone he does" Ingo is touched nonetheless that his brother already cares greatly for Akari. They do not receive a piece to make the red chain but they do leave with Mespirit's approval. That has to count for something. The brothers don't let a small change in tracks derail them. They press on.
The two head to Lake Valor next in search of Azelf and this time its Ingo who is put to the test. Azelf is brutal in its endeavor to test Ingo's will, Ingo however is unyielding nothing is stopping him from getting back to his daughter and bringing her home, mission assigned to her by Arceus or not. She was a child his child, Akari was coming home with them no matter what. He pours all his frustration at the situation that he and Akari were forced in into passing Azelf's trial and it pays off. He passes the trial with Emmet applauding him and that only leaves one guardian left Uxie. Again they do not receive Azelf's piece for the red chain but leave with its blessing.
So they begin to travel to Lake Acuity intent on facing the final guardian before the try to track down Dialga or Palkia. At this point they've been in Sinnoh for around a month. Emmet can see the toll this taking on his brother, can see the urgency in his brother's actions as he rushes through safety checks and does his best to comfort him. Emmet has never been great at talking that had always been Ingo but he does know how to put his brother at ease. So for most of their journey he goes into detail about his strategies to beat Arceus into the ground, cheerfully citing that since his wonderful Electross has the levitate ability (I know abilities aren't a thing in legends but this my au and I say they will) and therefore has no weaknesses for Arceus to exploit unless the damn thing has mold-breaker. It has the intended effect and soon he and Ingo are bickering good-naturedly about type matchups and strategies as they travel.
Ingo knows what his brother is doing and is very thankful for it. It makes their long trek up the snowy path to Lake Acuity pass by quicker, though when they rest for the evening there are some nights where Ingo lays awake worrying. Is Akari resting enough, are the villagers leaving her alone, is she eating properly? A million worries zip through his mind like a runaway train. There's a sinking feeling in his gut that tells him she needs his help and Ingo would be dammed if he didn't get to her in time.
When they finally arrive at Lake Acuity they've been in Sinnoh for just under two months and meeting with Uxie confirms Ingo's worst fears. Uxie is the guardian of the mind and is able to communicate with Ingo and Emmet with it taking less of a toll on him. Uxie has no trial for them instead the pokemon explains why they have not received the items from its counterparts.
"The rulers of time and space will come when you call for them at the top of spear pillar, the lost one is in need of you. Their are powerful forces at play. The creator and the banished each have their own agenda. The lost one has been betrayed once more."
The guardian's words alone are enough to send Ingo into a deadly rage, the conductor spits out countless threats about Kammado and Beni, promising hell if they'd dared harm is child once more.
This leaves Emmet to be calm collected twin for once (he isn't sure he likes it). His own anger accumulating inside but Emmet shoves it down, Ingo and his niece both needed him to keep a level head, there would be a time to work out his own anger just not now. While Ingo is busy going feral, Emmet decides to ask the million dollar question of who exactly has betrayed the niece he has yet to meet. Uxie's reply is simply "The merchant" it tells them.
Ingo goes still and feels mouth go dry. His mind playing back to the times Volo appeared to ask questions about both his and Akari's experience beyond the rift. His weird fixation on the rift and the events surrounding it in general. How he was always around to conveniently help when it was needed. His vested interest and need of Akari even after the rift was shut. It makes Ingo's blood boil to the point his pokeballs are shaking as his pokemon respond to his volatile emotions as he snarls. "Volo you bastard"
Emmet is worried for a moment his brother may fully lose it then and there taken aback by his cursing, but after a few moments Ingo takes in a shaky breath and releases it. Then in voice contorted with a carefully controlled fury he looks his brother in the eye and says. "All aboard Emmet we make our tracks for Mt. Coronet and nothing will derail us from our destination."
Emmet can do nothing, would do nothing else but follow his brother as Ingo whirls around to make for the exit of the cavern, his black coat billowing behind him. This Volo character won't know what hit them when the two of them show up. Emmet doubted there'd be much of a person left if Akari was hurt when they got there by the time Ingo and himself were done with them.
The journey to Spear Pillar is a blur to Ingo, his barely concealed rage is simmering just beneath the surface held together only by the thought of getting to Akari on time and Emmet's reassuring presence at his side. He is grateful to find both Dialga and Palkia waiting for them within what is now Spear Pillar. They are both stamping at the ground seemingly agitated in response to Ingo and Emmet's own emotions and summoned by their urgency. Without needing to ask the two legendary beasts roar and power surges through the temple. A portal appears as wind whips around them and neither twin hesitates to step in.
"Hang on Akari we're coming"
Phew, man I thought my last post was long...this one is even longer I feel. There's definitely going to be another part to this. I originally planned to end this with them arriving and like an epic line by Emmet. I'm still including the line in the next part but if I got to that point here it'd be a mile long. Anyways I hope you enjoyed this!
Part 3 can now be found here!

Dear Liv, 🖤 Dru
An excerpt from the diary Dru keeps just to fill with letters to her ghost sister. After writing each one, she leaves the diary open on her desk, hoping Livvy will visit and read it. Since Livvy can't flip the pages, Dru limits the length to what can fit on the back of one page and the front of the next.
*Set between installments 52 and 54 of Secrets of Blackthorn Hall*
Dear Liv,
So guess who I heard from today . . . KIT! Which, okay, not the most eventful thing. You know we text on a pretty regular basis. BUT. TODAY. He texted me from Blackthorn Hall!
Livvy, this is big big.
I don’t know how much Ty has told you about the whole situation with Kit, since neither of them are all that keen on talking about the other, but Jem and Tessa letting him out of his princess tower at Cirenworth is like huge. I don’t know that he’s left Devon since they whisked him away, and now he’s at OUR (Jules’?) haunted house.
Where am I going with this? Well, Livia, I would have hoped you’d figure it out by now, but in case you haven’t . . . This may be our only chance, for a while at least, to get Ty and Kit in the same room again. I can only assume this is a goal you and I share. Can we still have sister telepathy if you’re a twin? Or does twin telepathy win out? I’m gonna say we can still have some sort of telepathy, because then I KNOW you’ll go along with this plan . . .
OPERATION “PARENT TRAP: KITTY* EDITION”
You talk to Kit. Get him and the fam to stay in London a bit longer. (Maybe tell him you heard from some resident ghosts that they’d be willing to share info if they were more familiar with who they’re sharing it with? idk I’m sure you can figure something out)
I text Ty, encourage (bribe? blackmail?) him to visit Jules and Emma
You act as my back-up for Ty. Make sure he agrees and follows through
*yes, I’ve decided this is their ship name. I think Ty would appreciate it. And if Kit wouldn’t already, I’m sure meeting Irene would change that. Not exactly a kitty, I know, but the amount of feral energy between the two of them . . . Kit’s bound to realize how much of a stray cat he is.
Maybe keeping up hope that these idiots will talk through whatever’s keeping them apart is pointless or naïve, but you can see how much they need it, right? It’s not just me? I mean, maybe it is part-selfishness on my part. But I love them both, and sometimes I feel like I’m walking on eggshells trying not to bring up one to the other. And, honestly. That can’t be healthy.
So yeah . . . I’d really appreciate if you could help me out.
I miss you so much, Liv.
It’s so hard not having you to talk to. Or, not having you to respond? It’s nice to write these letters to you, but not knowing if you see them, not knowing if you check up on me, not being able to hear your voice or even just your laugh . . . it’s really hard. I miss my sister. All of this would be so much easier if I had you here to bounce things off of.
Okay, I’ll shut up. I know you don’t have any choice, and it isn’t like wishing will change anything. But it would be nice to know how you’re doing xo
For now though . . . let Operation PTKE commence!
🖤 Dru

We're gonna Found Family this and Tia and Champ are not taking no as an answer. Both Aaliyah and Sage get lured in by the two and then the next thing they know, they're got a whole extended family ready to square up for them.
And they have no idea how that happened.
But yes, Tia and Aaliyah have it all plotted out only for everything to get thrown out of the window when the baby comes.
(Sorry but all I could think of was labour happens and Tia has to go give Sage a shield halfway through.
"Why do I need this?"
"Just trust me."
*Through the doors* "WHAT DO YOU MEAN THERE'S TWO?!?! LINK, I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!"
"Firstly, congrats. It's twins. Secondly, i'd keep that on you until she calms down a bit.")
But whether there's one baby or multiples, that kid has a whole village behind them. The family tree is large and complex and none of them would have it any other way.
I like to think Daruk and Yunobo both become really wary of hugging Aaliyah, handling her like she's glass right up until she ends up biting one of them. But all the hugs. All the time.
The absolute shenanigans that are going on to 'test their worthiness' by the Trio become legendary. Tia's ability to handle them moreso. Twi, Wars and First are just more smitten because Tia's just casually handling the most feral people they've ever met plus managing anyone else who thinks they have a say like it's a walk in the park.
(Revali is honestly just there for the chaos. It's his revenge. Riju is his co-conspirator for when he needs one.)
As for rubbing their noses in it, I've read through some of the ficlets with Ceres in it and something came to me. Like imagine Aaliyah and the Triplets decide to have some fun in... say Tia's study. (Champ has the intelligence to not tempt fate and sticks to the Zora Domain) Tia walks in on them and just like sprays them with an opal-infused weapon like they're horny cats and she has a spray bottle. The only one who's allowed to have sex in her office is her and since she cant have sex until at least a confirmed wedding date, no one else is having sex in her vicinity. None of you know her pain so S U F F E R.
(Like Tia doesn't particularly care about the whole 'wait til marriage' thing but she does understand that murkying the waters with an out-of-wedlock baby so early into her plans of dismantling the monarchy would just make things difficult. So she has to wait even if she doesn't like it. Also her suitors are respectable and honourable men who were raised with the idea of tradition. Tia's more modern sensibilities is desperate to see how far she can push them until someone snaps. It'll probably be her. (Although I can see Twilight snapping first. First and Wars are holding on by the skin of their teeth.))
And for one final giggle. The group has a sign that says "IT HAS BEEN X NUMBER OF DAYS SINCE SOMEONE BIT A PERSON/ MONSTER " The record was two weeks before Tia broke it in her fox form. She got given so much shit for it because she was the one who made the sign.
ANFFNB Tia and champ just gently luring them in with snacks only for everyone else to pounce on them the second they're close enough. Sage never had a father figure? Bc his behavior is fatherless and I will not accept anything otherwise. Now he has TWO With Teba and Daruk. Aaliyah has no clue what being a mother entails? OH LOOK- Now Urbosa is helping her and Riju and Tulin are perfect little siblings to practice on. They have siblings and parents and fnofnf They just love their feral little assholes, both of whom are still tryna figure out wtf just happened.
Labor is an absolute SHIT SHOW. calling it now. Bc let's face it, Aaliyah is incapable of staying still, even when he's nine months fucking pregnant and feels like a whale. She's still hiding in caves (That have long since been cleaned out) or playing with the ranch dogs that come down to visit. So she's probably doing laundry or something when it starts. And if anyone knows anything about labor it's that its never like the movies. It starts of slow then picks up into active labor. But she has such a high pain tolerance that she probably just thinks its gas or something. ffonf Then her water breaks and it's an 'Oh shit-" Moment. Like Dead Silence. Sage is watching her for a second, she's watching him. Then just a panic. He's calling Tia and Champ and barking at them to get their ASSES OVER THERE And Aaliyah is freaking out bc THIS WAS NOT THE PLAN?
It's a mess.
(no bc now I'm thinking about this FNOFBF Sage up by her head, holding her hand and helping her through every contraction while Tia is down by her legs with Purah and when ones out Aaliyah is still groaning and crying and there's the second "Oh shit-" moment and Tia is just-
"It was nice knowing you, Sage."
"What- What do you mean by that?! Is the baby okay?! Is my wife okay?!"
"Oh yeah, all three are fine."
Aaliyah has to take a moment and make sure she heard that right, "What." Then she's looking up at him. "Link, I am going to NEUTER YOU-")
I love your brain sm gonna give it a kiss.
That kid is never gonna know the same loneliness their parents knew (Rn my current hc for them is a little boy named Sawyer and a little girl named Elliot. I haven't decided if they're twins or not nofnf). They will always have someone there for them no matter what.
I think moreso Daruk bc he knew her as this timid little girl (I;m guessing he also got their Daruk's memories...even if he's yk...dead) that followed everything the Sheikah told her to do. Yunobo has seen this girl firsthand bite a Moblins horn off and then use it to stab them to death. Daruk, and the rest of the champs for that matter, probably have a harder time seperating Aaliyah and Sage from who they were.
BUT ONCE THAT HAPPENS-
Oh hugs FOR SURE. Bc the gorons have their tough skin so even with the feral assholes biting them they don't feel it. IMAGINE THEM JUST -"They're love bites! :D" And Aaliyah is deadass tryna tear off flesh.
When she's pregnant they get much gentler of course, but hugs ANYWAY-
HGSITT The trio just putting them through actual hell. Like IMAGINE THEM JUST DROPPING ONE OF THEM IN A TEMPLE AND LEAVING THEM THERE LMAOO Tia has to go get them fnofnf FIFH ONE OF THE THREE GO FOR A TACKLE AND TIA JUST CATCHES THEM FHOFN
(Revali is an agent of chaos. And I'm HERE FOR IT. Riju and Tulin are his side kicks)
Those Ceres and Aaliyah fics are my lifeline rn I swear- FOFNF
POOR TIA SHE DIDN'T ASK FOR HER STUDY TO BE DISGRACED LIKE THAT. (Champ has more brains then we give him credit for) Aaliyah probably doesn't have the forethought to be like 'this is isn't the wild, i can't just suck dick wherever I want'. Tia just goes on like it's a normal occurance, squirting her with a water bottle ognfo. Tia fighting for her life, She doesn't wanna rush her wedding but also she just wants to get LAID MAN-
(The boys waiting <3 I love them sm and i love how they wait for her fhof. And her waiting so they don't accidentally pop out an early heir is so ffhoff I love that for them <3 She just has to wait until marriage though, then she can have all the babies she wants. Imagine the boys being more into waiting for marriage then she is fnofn. Like they're all for waiting and Tia is just shaking Aaliyah and whining about how much she DOESN'T WANNA WAIT-)
FHFOF I LOVE THIS SO MUCH. After like, three days it becomes a competition. Like they are bating each other into biting. AND THIS COUNTS FOR SEXUAL STUFF TOO. Sage can't bite Aaliyah, she can't bite him, and everything else is off limits. And yk what? They are competitive fuckers. So they hold out. Until of course, TIA breaks it to which they never let her live it down. Ever. It's in the speeches they give at her wedding. <3

I said this aloud to my twin brother @jadedoni after reading your dad Zenitsu pieces and he told me I had to request it, so I was wondering if you could do a short piece for dad Inosuke teaching his child how to stalk prey by sneaking up on his partner? I usually do gender neutral asks, which you can do for this, but I also kinda want to ask you to write reader as a short female because I think it would make it extra cute. Whichever you decide will be a-okay with me! Thanks for hearing me out and feel free to take your time!
Hi hi Iraxme!! Thank you so much for requesting <3 You both always have such cute ideas that I really love and have enjoyed writing !! You definitely can have this! I’ll go with your preference <3 but later on I may upload a version with gn pronouns :D As always, I’m super sorry for any mistakes, I will gladly go back and fix them! No problem at all :D and I’m sorry I took a bit to get to your request TT

Inosuke motioned for his son to come along with him, “Today we’re gonna finally test your skills on how to stalk and sneak up on prey,” his voice proud and loud as his child cheered excitedly, a glittering aura around him as he stood in his Lord of the Mountain pose.
“Remember the process?” He kneeled down to meet the e/c gaze of his son, a wild but loving glimmer in his own lime green eyes as he smiled brightly.
His son nodded happily as a gentle pink hue formed on his cheeks from the excitement, “Mm! I won’t let you down papa,” he spoke happily and confidently, as he hugged Inosuke.
A giddy feeling formed in his chest as he was embraced by his son, a little boy who was exactly a mini version of him just with e/c eyes instead of the vibrant green he had and f/c tips on his hair instead of blue like he had.
His child followed him outside as they crouched behind a bush that was near his beloved wife who was tending to the garden, her small frame kneeling and gently removing any weeds and picking the ripe and ready to be eaten vegetables.
The pair could hear her gentle singing making them blush as they heard her voice elegantly tell a story about love.
“Ahh mama is so pretty,” his son whispered happily as he watched her fill a basket with vegetables before she stood and entered the wild orchard of fruit trees.
“Mm! An absolute goddess of nature,” Inosuke’s own voice uncharacteristically soft as he watched her form retreat, a light blush on his cheeks as the familiar giddy sensation built in his chest.
“Move move move,” he urged his son as he stealthily ran behind a nearby tree with his son silently following behind him.
They watched her pick off a few apples from low branches. Inosuke couldn’t help but soundlessly snicker watching her trying to jump up to reach higher up branches.
“Whhhyyy,” they heard her dramatically cry out as she nearly got one in her hand, but missed by just a little bit.
Inosuke and his son made eye contact, the sign of moving forward. With an approving nod from the feral boar man and a thumbs up, his son began to move forward in soundless steps with Inosuke trailing behind. Using natural cover and his stature to hide from his unsuspecting mother as she went from tree to tree attempting to gather more fruits.
Silently he crept up behind her, each step inching closer and closer to his mother who unknowingly went along picking pears.
“Gotcha!” The little boy giggled excitedly as he hugged her yukata clad legs.
She yelped in surprise, the basket of fruits and vegetables falling from her hands as she felt something embrace her legs, her heart beating rapidly and body going cold as a response until she heard the familiar giggling.
Y/n looked down and was met with the loving gaze of her brightly smiling son, her smile softening as her heartbeat relaxed.
She giggled softly as she knelt down to meet the gaze of her son, “You sure got me,” her arms wrapping around her son, lifting him up as she stood, “Now, where’s your papa?” she questioned curiously.
A familiar war cry resonated in her ears as she heard the quick running steps of her husband rapidly approaching them.
“Papa!” Her son called out happily as Inosuke embraced the pair.
“Good job son!” Inosuke proudly yelled as he ruffled his messy hair.
His son giggled happily as he embraced his mother. His gentle e/c eyes lovingly looking at his parents who wore smiles and spoke to each other about being proud of him as he acknowledged the height difference — the way his father towered over her.
“Mama?” he spoke quietly, tugging the collar of her f/c yukata.
“Yes, sweetie?” Her voice was sweet as she looked into her son's eyes lovingly.
“I never realized how much smaller you are than papa…” he spoke, completely enchanted and mesmerized by the concept.
Inosuke cackled loudly as he watched her expression become deadpanned before it returned to her gentle and loving smile. He immediately shut up, feeling his face heat up and his heart flutter from the sight of his wife holding his son, that loving smile on her lips always made his heart go soft.
“Well, now that papa is here and is tall, he can go pick some more apples for us to eat later with some honey,” she giggled, “Would you like that,” she lovingly kissed her son’s forehead before he happily nodded.
Inosuke proudly smiled as he took a hold of his son, “Next lesson! Picking fruits like a true master!”
His son cheered happily as he was carried away by Inosuke with Y/n following beside them, Inosuke putting his free arm around her as they went about gathering more fruit.

@technicallya1manband so, I just remembered that while I was camping I wrote another thing for the Gerudo Twilight AU. Specifically, I have a lot of fun with ‘The Unreliable Narrator That Is History’ (putting this like that, because I basically use it as a trope at this point), and I got bored one afternoon while hiding from the sun because it is HOT out, especially where I was. And then I thought I should probably have Twilight appear, so it kinda ended up ‘Expectation vs Reality’ by the end. Anyways, I hope you enjoy this, I’m off to bed now
-------------
“You look upset,”
Zelda startled, twisting to see Urbosa standing in the doorway behind her. The Champions had only just been dubbed as such, and Zelda had wanted to get away from the celebrations.
“I’m not,” she lied, turning back to face the sky.
Urbosa sighed, and after a moment she settled down next to Zelda.
“Little bird, you do not have to lie to me,”
“I know,” she sighed, not bothering to defend herself. “I just, I’m not sure what I’m supposed to do. My power won’t awaken, no matter what I do, and I just, I can’t live up to the expectations everyone has set for me. My mother unlocked her power so easily, and my grandmother did too. Why is it just me that can’t do this?”
“Zelda,” Urbosa wound an arm around her shoulders and pulled the younger girl to her side. “You need to stop comparing yourself to them. You aren’t them, and your power will awaken for you when you are ready,”
“But I’ve been ready!” Zelda threw out her hands. “And it’s not that easy to just, not compare! I know you wouldn’t understand that, but I just,” she put her head in her hands. “I don’t know what to do,”
“Wouldn’t understand, eh?”
Zelda peeked up through her fingers as Urbosa leaned back on her hands.
“Would you let me tell you a story, little bird?”
“A, story?”
“It has a moral,” Urbosa promised. “And I think you’ll like it,”
“Okay,” Zelda folded her hands in her lap. “Tell me a story,”
“This is an old story, very, very old. Almost, but not quite, as old as the gerudo ourselves. Back when Ganon took the form of a gerudo voe,”
“Seriously?” Zelda twisted to face Urbosa, eyes wide. “That is old,”
“Indeed,” Urbosa smiled. “The man that would become the monster Ganon had been king for only a few years when the Hero of that era defeated him. I won’t go into the details, as they get confusing, and this story is not about them. After he was defeated, Ganon was sentenced to death. He was not successfully killed, but that is also a tale for another time. What I wish to speak of is the aftermath,”
“Why start with Ganon when you’re talking about something after him?” Zelda huffed.
“Because, little bird, Ganon’s defeat left the gerudo without a king. I know it may not seem this way now, with how long it’s been since the gerudo had a king last, but this was the first time we were without so much as a prince. Not to mention the hatred we faced for our King’s actions,” Urbosa frowned, looking off into the distance. “The hylian crown was not kind to my people in the aftermath of Ganon’s defeat. We were chased even further out into the desert, and we struggled there for a long, long time. For almost a hundred years, we were without a king, and so we elected the first chief, to rule until a new king was born,”
“I’m so sorry,” Zelda frowned, suddenly feeling guilty.
“Do not apologize, little bird. It happened so long ago, and things have changed so much,” Urbosa pulled her in again. “Besides, the hylians also gave us our next king,”
“What?”
Both women turned to see the other Champions hovering in the doorway, though thankfully it seemed Zelda’s new knight was not among them.
“Sorry about that, highnesses,” Daruk mumbled, giving Revali a sharp look. “The King asked us to come find you, but we were kinda invested in the story,”
“I don’t mind telling you as well,” Urbosa turned to Zelda. “How about it? Can they join us?”
“Hm? Oh, yes, of course!” Zelda floundered, waving them out. “Please, take a seat,”
They filed in and sat around the two, and everyone turned back to Urbosa.
“Right, where was I?”
“A hylian king,” Revali said, looked a bit affronted on the gerudo’s behalf.
“He wasn’t hylian,” she corrected. “Well, I suppose that isn’t totally true. He definitely looked hylian, but he was gerudo. One of the girls who was alive when Ganon ruled had seen the writing on the wall and hid her daughter with the girl’s hylian father. This girl later married a hylian man herself and her daughter, it is said, moved very far away. Out into the middle of nowhere. She had a daughter herself, and this daughter had a son,”
“The King,” Zelda guessed.
“Yes, the King,” Urbosa smiled. “He didn’t know that though. His mother died when he was very young, and he did not return to the desert until he was already mostly grown. But, he did eventually return to us. I’m not sure how we knew he was our king, but there was no doubt at all by the time he was crowned. Of course, he was not in an easy spot. We were still suffering from the aftermath of Ganon’s rule, and he had very little time to prepare for his new role,” she paused to smile. “Which makes his achievements all that much more impressive,”
“You put an incompetent king on a throne vacated by the monster we’re getting ready to fight, and you expect us to believe he did well?” Revali huffed.
“No,” Urbosa said. “I expect you to believe we have never had a better ruler, either king or chief, after him,”
“What did he do?” Zelda asked while the others convinced Revali to stop squawking.
“Firstly, he repaired relations with the rest of Hyrule. Hylian - gerudo relations have only ever been better when your own mother was queen. Apparently he already knew the Queen at the time, and the two spent several days coming to an agreement that ended with all of the desert, and the highlands, being gerudo territory, so long as we remained a vassal state under Hyrule. After that, he is noted as having brought our people back to prosperity,”
“One king did all that?” Mipha asked.
“Yes,” Urbosa smiled. “At the time of Ganon’s rule, the gerudo were thieves. It was his gentle pushing that caused the change into a people of merchants. It is said that the first gerudo jeweller began her trade at the encouragement of the King. She was not the only one to have been encouraged by the King, of course. You know, the reason all gerudo chiefs have our own sand seals is because of him,”
“Really?” Zelda asked, thinking of Urbosa's own sand seal back in Gerudo Town.
“Oh yes, he loved animals,” she laughed. “It is said his pride and joy was a horse he’d raised from a foal that he never travelled outside of the desert without, and he even brought a goat with him into the desert,”
“A goat?” Zelda blanched.
“A goat,” Urbosa nodded. “One of the vai had an idea, to use the sand seals native to the desert as transportation. She decided to prove the worth of this idea, as it was still relatively unheard of for gerudo to be anything but warriors, by catching and taming one first. Once she had, she brought the animal to the King and offered it as a gift,” Urbosa smiled, shaking her head. “The King adored this idea, and loved his newest pet. He was very personally involved in the beginnings of the project, and encouraged the vai who had the idea when she suggested renting them out for people to use to cross the desert. The stories say that if the King was in gerudo town and couldn’t be found in the palace, then he’d be found with the seals,”
Zelda couldn’t help but giggle at that.
“My sword and shield are based on his, you know,”
“What?”
“Gerudo kings, before him, all fought with a pair of twin swords. However, when he arrived he already had a decent grasp of swordplay. Only he fought with a single sword and a shield. He was gifted a set at his coronation, and ever since then the leader of the gerudo fought with a sword and shield. I had mine made to look like the pictures we have of his,”
“That’s actually kind of sweet, in a way,” Zelda mused.
“What do you call him?”
“Hm?” Urbosa turned at Revali’s question.
“Don’t you gerudo give your kings fancy titles?” Revali elaborated. “What do you call this king?”
“Probably the Seal King,” Daruk suggested.
“Please!” Revali rolled his eyes.
“What do you think he’s called then?” Zelda asked.
“Well, I would have called him the Hero King,”
“What about the Merchant King?” Mipha suggested.
“Little bird?” Urbosa prompted. “Do you have a guess?”
“Um,” Zelda thought on that. “Perhaps, the Healing King? Since, he’s the one who got you back to a good point,”
“All very good guesses,” Urbosa smiled. “All wrong. We call him the Wolf King,”
“Wolf King?” More than a few of them echoed back.
“Yes,” Urbosa nodded. “Fierce and feral like a beast to enemies, but to allies, there is none more loyal or dedicated,” she sighed, looking wistfully at the now setting sun. “If given the chance to meet any individual from Hyrule’s history, I would want to meet him. To ask for his advice on matters, to let him see what he’s done for our people. I just hope that I will be able to be even half the leader he was,”
“You already are,” Zelda said softly.
Urbosa turned to her, and smiled. “Little bird, that means more to me than you know,”
(---)
“Princess?”
Zelda turned to see Chief Riju approach her where she stood on the balcony overlooking Gerudo Town.
“Oh, Chief Riju, my apologies,” Zelda dipped her head, an embarrassed pink making its way up her neck and onto her cheeks. “I didn’t, if I’m in the way,”
“You aren’t,” Chief Riju shook her head. “And please, just Riju,”
Zelda nodded, still a bit embarrassed, and the two looked out over the town together in silence for a moment.
“Rupee for your thoughts?” Riju asked.
“Just, thinking about Urbosa’s legacy,” Zelda admitted.
“Oh?”
“She told me a story once, about an old gerudo king. The Wolf King. She said she had wanted to be even half as good as he was,”
“She succeeded,” Riju told her. “At least, in my opinion,”
“No, you’re right,” Zelda shook her head, smiling. “I just hope she knows that, is all. Knows that she was able to leave a big enough positive impact that she succeeded in her goal,”
Riju set a hand on Zelda’s arm. “I do too,”
Neither girl said another word.
(---)
Zelda felt a bit like screaming, if she was completely honest.
Link, Wild, whatever he was calling himself, had gotten sucked away on some magic time travelling quest with other Heroes, and now he was introducing her to his mentor, the Hero of Twilight.
A Hero, who it turns out was also the Wolf King.
He was shorter than Zelda had pictured him, and you would never know he was the gerudo king by his appearance. He definitely looked the part of a wolf, though.
But here he was, holding out the original sword and shield that Urbosa’s were based on. There were differences, obviously, but the smith who made the Scimitar of the Seven and Daybreaker had done a very good job replicating them.
“Are we done now, Cub?” The King, Twilight, sighed.
He didn’t seem to be very invested in his role as king, which contrasted Urbosa’s description of him as ‘dedicated’. In fact, it seemed like he wanted to stop talking about it as quickly as possible.
“Almost,” Link nodded. He turned to Zelda and waved his hands at Twilight. “See? I told you I got to meet him!”
“What?” Twilight asked.
“Oh, uh, pardon us, Your Highness,” Zelda gave him a half bow, and noted the way his face scrunched up. “It’s just, my good friend Urbosa had told me about you a long time ago. She looked up to you and your legacy, and so I’ve also, sort of, admired you. I, I never thought I’d actually get to meet you,”
Oh, Urbosa should be here, Zelda thought. She had wanted to meet him,
“Right,” he said slowly, tucking the sword and shield back in his bag. “Uh, thanks?”
“You, don’t seem very invested in your kingship,” Zelda noted.
“May I be completely honest with you, Your Highness?”
“Of course,” she firmly tamped down the excitement in her chest.
“I have no idea what I’m doing,”
“What?”
That definitely didn’t sound like the king Urbosa told her about.
“I grew up on a ranch,” he explained. “I herd goats. I barely knew what I was doing when I became the Hero. And now I find out I’m supposed to be a king? My village had a mayor, and he taught me how to wrestle gorons. Because he used to wrestle gorons. I don’t know how many kings can wrestle gorons,”
“At least one,” Link offered.
“Not helping,” Twilight shot him a halfhearted glare. He turned back to her and sighed. “Look, I’m sure there’s some reason you and Urbosa admired me, but I have no idea what that could possibly be. I’m impressed I haven’t screwed anything up too badly yet. So, it’s not that I’m not invested, I’m stuck in the position so I may as well actually try and do well, it’s just, I’m sort of riding blind here. I don’t know what I’m doing, and I’d really rather not talk about it,”
“Oh,” Zelda blinked. “I, suppose that makes sense. My apologies, I’ll try to refrain from bringing it up. I hadn’t intended to make you uncomfortable,”
“You didn’t,” he sighed, and Zelda felt a bit relieved. “And, thanks. It’s just, a whole headache for me,”
“I believe I understand the feeling, Your Majesty,”
“No, stop,”
“Stop?”
“No ‘Your Majesty’. No ‘King Link’, no royal titles at all. I am Link Ordon, the goat herd,” he frowned deeply. “I will accept ‘Hero’ if you must, but I,” he sighed in what seemed like defeat. “Please, just call me Twilight,”
“Of course, Twilight,”
“Thank you,”
Zelda wasn’t sure if the fact that Urbosa’s idol had no clue what he was doing would have made her friend feel any better, but it did boost Zelda’s confidence about the monumental task in front of her.
It was just a pity she wouldn’t be able to get any tips from him.
Although, apparently Hyrule’s first king was also among Links’s travelling companions. Maybe she could ask him for advice...

“Wait, ‘Tsumu—”
Atsumu whines when you push him off of you, flopping on the other side of your bed, and you scramble to your feet to grab a t-shirt from the floor. You hastily pull it over your head and open the door.
“Yes, sorry—oh, ‘Samu!” you beam, patting your hair to smooth it down a bit. Osamu smiles, taking in your dishevelled form—his cheeks tint a pretty pink when he realizes that you’re only in your underwear and that’s his twin’s shirt slightly covering your thighs. “What’s the matter?” He clears his throat awkwardly.
“Am a interruptin’ something?” he asks, grey eyes flickering from your face down to your body, then shifting behind you to see his twin splayed on the bed. You shake your head, smiling.
“No, actually—”
“YES, YA ARE!” Atsumu cuts you, raising his body and propping himself on his elbow. “Now scram, scrub,” he frowns, gasping when Osamu flips him off. With a sigh, the silver-haired twin shifts his attention to you.
“A can come later if ya—” he starts, but you grab his hands, pulling him into your bedroom and pushing his chest until he falls into the bed next to his brother. An idea pops in your head—and by the pink flush on Osamu’s face, he will definitely like it.
“What the fuck—” Atsumu huffs, raising an eyebrow, but you shush him as you jump between them, kneeling in front of Osamu with a grin.
“Wanna join us?”
To say he’s shocked—him, and his twin—is an understatement. His pupils are blown wide, eyes almost black, as the blond gasps behind you. “C’mon! It’ll be fun, I promise,” you laugh as Atsumu’s hands circle your waist, slipping under the maroon shirt and making you shudder. “Besides, I love you both the same. It wouldn’t be fair if only ‘Tsumu gets action.” Osamu stares, dumbfounded, not knowing what to do, while Atsumu becomes impatient at the lack of attention he receives.
“HEY! Yer my girlfriend,” the setter pouts, accentuating ‘my’ with a sharp nip to your neck, growling at the way you mewl his name. “An’ a don’t like sharin’.”
“‘Tsumu—it’s not fair for ‘Samu, I want him to have fun too,” you manage between moans, head thrown back and resting on the blond’s shoulder. He gives his twin a sharp look—she’s mine, it says—but then realizes something.
This is a great opportunity to show you that nobody—not even his own brother—can fuck you better than him. He smirks, then fakes a sigh and clicks his tongue. “Fine, a guess he can join,” he relents, lifting the shirt so his brother has a perfect view to your just-as-perfect chest, moving his hands to pinch one of your nipples. The motion makes you arch your back with a muffled moan, and the blond can see his sibling eyeing your perky tits hungrily. “Go ahead—don’t just stand there like an idiot.”
And the silver-haired spiker complies, dipping his head down to latch his mouth onto your other nipple, massaging your breast as he does so. The hotness of his tongue, coupled with the swirl of it and the gentle sucks force a wobbly moan out of you, thighs trembling as you rub them against each other, trying to get some relief from the friction. Atsumu is quick to part your legs, hand shooting between them to rub your clit through your panties. He groans at the wetness he finds there.
“Naughty little thing—yer enjoyin’ this, aren’t ya?” he coos, and all you can do is let out a gurgled moan, hands scratching at said man’s shoulder and the blond’s arm. Your hips buck into Atsumu’s fingers, and he nudges his brother to take off your panties—he does, throwing them somewhere on the floor while moving his head to place sloppy kisses down your body—on your breasts, under them, your ribcage, your tummy—gently biting the soft flesh of your inner thigh. Osamu peppers your skin with nips and sticky kisses, inching closer and closer to your heated core. Each ministration makes you gasp, and Atsumu turns your head to crash his lips over yours, stealing your breath away. He’s feral—like his brother, really. It feels like a competition of who can make you feel the best.
Unbeknownst to you, it is.
You arch your back, moaning against the Atsumu’s lips when Osamu licks a stripe from your hole to your clit. It feels so good, and you’re so hot—you need release, and you need it now. The hand scratching his shoulder moves to grip his hair, tugging lightly on it to signal him that you need whatever he gives you—Osamu has always been at your beck and call, as did his brother, and now is no exception as he begins lapping at your cunt, groaning at the sweet taste of you. It’s addicting, intoxicating—he’s drunk on you, he wants more—he grabs your legs, throwing them over his shoulders, and continues eating you out like he’s a man starved.
Atsumu relishes in the little sounds you make. “So pretty for us,” he breathes against your lips, dragging his teeth across the lower one. One hand is squishing your chest, the other plays with your clit.
“‘S too much...” you mewl, black spots dancing at the edge of your vision. The twins groan in unison.
“Too much? Is our sweet little thing backing out now?” the blond mocks, and—as if on cue—Osamu releases your poor hole with a wet pop. You whine at the loss, hands blindly searching for them, and they chuckle at the way your body trembles with need.
“Hey, ‘Samu.”
“Yeah, ‘Tsumu.”
“She did pretty well, didn’t she?”
“Sure did. We should reward her.”
Atsumu’s fingers gently rub at your clit—you’re close, he knows, but he also knows that only this is not enough for you to get off. “Ya hear that, princess? ‘Samu wants to reward ya.” Your whimpers make their features soften, and they nod at each other, maneuvering you so you properly sit in Atsumu’s lap, with Osamu kneeling between your spread thighs. They lick their lips, watching the way you twitch in anticipation.
“How ‘bout ya decide what ya want, huh?” Osamu questions, holding one of your hands and raising it to press a kiss to the back of your palm. “A’m feelin’ generous tonight.”
Your moans and whimpers go unnoticed as Atsumu groans, an impatient sound, and roughly spanks your puffy clit—it makes you whimper, a bit of drool running down your chin. “Look at ya—yer so down bad for this ya can’t even speak,” he says, biting the love of your ear. “Use yer words, slut.”
“I–I want—” you hiccup, tears starting to fall from your eyes as the blond teases your slit by dragging the pads of his fingers along it, “I want you two! Please, ‘Tsumu, ‘Samu!”
“There ya go,” Osamu coos, wiping a few of your tears. “Yer not that much of a dumb puppy, are ya?” You can’t see it, but the glint in their eyes has become a fire. He leans down, pressing a chaste kiss to your forehead. “Ya want ‘Tsumu to hold ya?” he asks, and you nod eagerly.
It’s not like you haven’t done anal before. You did, in fact—your blond boyfriend was always open to new ideas (“spice up the atmosphere”)—and it felt amazing, but you don’t know how you’ll manage to fit both of the twins. If Osamu is anything like his brother when it comes to length and girth, it will be a ride.
As if sensing your hesitation, Atsumu cups your cheek and presses a kiss to your temple. “Don’t worry, princess, we’ll take care o’ ya. Tell us if ya want to stop.”
Compared to Atsumu—who’s notorious for being fiery and untamed, burning you with his passion if you’re not careful and always eager to please—Osamu is a bit calmer. That doesn’t mean he’s going to back down or let his brother outshine him, of course—he’ll cool you down with his love, his kisses reminding you of a gentle breeze.
The blond slips his hand down, kneading the soft flesh of your ass and giving is a few light slaps. The growl in his chest rises the moment he sees your arousal dripping down your thighs, and his boxers fly somewhere next to your panties on the floor, swiftly joined by his twin’s. He rubs the head of his cock between your folds to slick it up, long fingers prodding at your puckered hole. He pushed one finger past the tight muscle ring—slowly, holding your hand—while he kisses your shoulder. “‘S okay, princess, a got ya,” he whispers when you squirm, giving Osamu a side glance. He moves his fingers easily, making good work of your focus on the twin in front of you.
His brother is too mesmerised with the way his cock disappears inside your cunt, velvety walls sucking him in and making him groan. He’s had sex before—it just didn’t feel like this: so amazing he might explode. You’re perfect, everything about you is—he bottoms in one fluid motion, making you throw your head back with an breathy moan of his name, giving the spiker an opportunity to suck a hickey on your neck.
Atsumu has long since removed his fingers, squeezing a bottle of lube on his dick to make sure he’ll slip in as smoothly as possible—he does, pushing in slowly and making sure it doesn’t hurt you.
They haven’t even started moving and it’s already overwhelming. Your vision is dotted with stars, your thighs are shaking and your breath is ragged, moans escaping every so often. “Feels—great...” you whimper, toes curling at the blond’s hips finally meet the soft expanse of your ass. “Move...”
And they do. Gently at first, letting you accommodate their sizes, then increasing their pace with every pleasured cry that leaves your lips. Grunts, whimpers, sobs and gasps fill the room as the twins rock their hips, battling over who gets to kiss you first and where, who makes you feel better and who loves you more. You feel the knot in your stomach tighten—but you can’t say anything, your brain to hazy and fucked out to form anything other than broken sounds.
“Look at you—we fucked ya stupid, haven’t we, princess?” Atsumu pants from behind you, nibbling at your ear. “Such a good girl—always so obedient and eager—”
“Yer squeezin’ me so tight, puppy—” Osamu groans, grabbing your jaw and making you look at him. He chuckles at the way your unfocused, teary eyes watch him, tongue lolled out, drool dripping down your chin as you pant and gasp. “So messy, just for us...” he smiles, feeling close. He stills his hips after he pushes in roughly, filling you to the brim with his cum.
Their words spur you on and bring you closer to your orgasm—soon, you break completely with a scream, body spasming and convulsing with the intensity of your release. You fall limp in Atsumu’s waiting arms, and he peppers your neck with sweet kisses as Osamu pulls his softening cock out of you, leaving his brother to chase for his high—he comes soon enough with a muffled groan, and you whine at the slight overstimulation. He shushes you with a kiss to your cheek.
The blond lets your back fall on the bed as he moves to sit next to his twin, watching with a smirk the way your plush thighs still shiver slightly in the aftermath. He loves it when you’re messy like this—cum oozing out of your pretty cunt, face full of tears and drool, sweat glistening on your skin—it gives him a sense of pride. A job well done, as he likes to put it. He fistbumps Osamu, and they smile.
“Ya know what ma’ always says,” the setter starts, grabbing a towel and cleaning you up as you weakly grab his hand—he raises it to his lips, pressing a kiss to the back of it and whispering a soft ‘a love ya, princess’. He crawls next to you, draping an arm over your waist.
“Sharin’ is carin’,” the spiker finishes, flopping on the other side of the bed, placing your head on his bicep. Both of them kiss each of your temples, and you fall into a blissful sleep, warmth and love enveloping you from all sides.
You could get used to this.

SO MERLOPIAN KAI PART 2 ELECTRIC BOOGALOO
So, with Kalmaar, he ofc immediately goes to his parents about his feeling, slightly placing his revenge on hold. They are...dubious about it, but Maya raises the point of how there has never been a human/merlopian hybrid before, and from what Ray has told them about having two EM parents it’s possible for Kai to have some water abilities himself, which could be what gave Kalmaar his feeling. So, they agree to look into it.
Moving on..... Uh. Kai doesn’t have a fun time in S6, as briefly as he’s there. You see, Nahdakahn knows exactly what buttons to press and is able to get Kai into a panicked state where he, on the verge of a panic attack and mental breakdown, just says “I wish that I could just be normal! I wish I could just go home! I wish I could be with dad and mom and father and Kal and Bentho and Nya!!!”
The “normal” comment comes from how they weren’t able to completely hide Kai’s heritage since yeah, there were other people on the boat who saw him. That and he also tried a lot less to keep it hidden. And because some humans are assholes, he has to deal with that.
So ofc, Nahdakahn interprets it in the worst ways and as two wishes. Kai is now a full human yes….but was also sent to where the fish fam currently were……which just so happened to be at the bottom of the ocean.
So yeah, double trauma for both groups. Kai got to experience what drowning felt like, and his fam was essentially forced to watch him die since there was nothing they could do. They were too far under to take him to the surface and too far from the palace to take him there.
But dw, it gets even worse.
You see, the whole reason Nahdakahn is being this malicious about Kai’s wishes is because he learned that Kai was the reason the Preeminent was destroyed, thereby destroying Djinjago.
Nahdakahn is then able to do a “oh? Is this not what you wanted? I thought you wished to be normal.” Which ofc sounds really bad since it’s in front of his family. “But, I understand. You grow tired of the stares in the street, how they whisper behind you back about what you are. Not human, not merlopian, not normal. Just a freak masquerading as one of them.”
This ofc supremely pisses off the fam. Like, weapons drawn ready to commit murder.
But then Nahdakahn stop them with a “ah ah ah, I wouldn’t do that if I were you. After all, I am the only way your son has a chance at living. So go ahead. Make a wish.”
Trimaar ends up being the one to do it, and is smart enough to know this uh will twist it in anyway he can so says. “I wish for Kai to be sent safely to the surface without harm done upon him.”
Blah blah blah, your wish is yours to keep, Trimaar realizing “wait there’s a lot that could be interpreted” but too late BAM now Kai’s kinda stuck on the Misfortune’s Keep.
And he....generally has a pretty bad time. Think Jay but this time it’s personal.
However, Kai’s appearance had Trimaar get the Merlopian army and start heading to the surface. The remaining ninja have a brief moment of “are you kidding me two enemies at once” before learning that this is Kai’s lost family and they’re here to help.
So now the ninja have a whole ass fish army to help them, plus a very protective, very angry fish family.
But for the rest of canon, the only difference is that when they’re leaving Tiger Widow Island, Nya gets snatched along with Jay(who was taken because he hadn’t used his wish yet) and they aren’t stuck on the island, and then later that Kai gets sucked into the sword when the ninja launch their rescue mission.
But yeah, it gets all Un-Happened by Jay’s wish(which at seeing Kai physically hurt and being emotionally torn apart at his baby sister dying, wished that none of this ever happened and that Nahdakahn was never found), only like canon Nya and Jay still remember what happens.
Nya is now firmly on team Kai Is Alive and tells her parents everything about what happened and the wish Jay made, and more importantly where Kai is.
Unfortunately, they need to take some time and prepare. Trimaar and Maya have been doing their best over the years to open the populace possibly making bonds with the humans, but now it’s finally happening. They can’t just go up there out of no where, since from what Nya has told them 1) most humans don’t even know they exist and 2) in the past few years they have been subject of many attacks, mostly from non-humans, so they need to make sure the humans understand they don’t mean any harm.
So DotD happens, then the beginnings of S7 :)
Right out, Kai never liked the museum curator. Up to that point he’d only ever caught fleeting glimpse of him but something about him Kai just despised. As a result, he also visited the museum as scarcely as possible, and thus didn’t notice a very interesting painting containing a two very strange figures.
When he learns his name was Dr.Saunders.....things don’t go well.
It happened when Kai brought the helmet with his dad’s symbol on it. As much as he disliked the curator, he was the most likely to be able to recognize what kind of helmet it was.
Then in his anger he gets himself captured.
He’s taken to a special cell lined with vengestone and has guards around the clock, and Krux takes extra care to make sure Kai doesn’t know where Ray is.
ofc it’s around this time that the Merlopians arrive and express their wishes for a possible alliance between their two races. Unfortunately they showed up at literally the worst time, and double unfortunately the people in charge of diplomacy decide to bring some of the ninja in as an extra precaution because of the villains have been running around.
So the people who join the meeting are Lloyd and Jay from the ninja(they would’ve brought Kai but he hasn’t returned from his missions yet and isn’t answering their calls) as well as some police officers and from the Merlopians is the whole royal family plus a few guards.
Both Jay and Nya have a silent moment of staring at each other since “I know and I’m not sure you know but I think you know but I don’t want to say anything since you might not”
And just as they’re about to start, The Time Twins attack. Because why the hell not.
They’re actually able to hold them off for a while, but unfortunately there are too many Vermillion. Then Kalmaar whips out his Water Powers which causes him to get kidnapped since they need both Fire and Water masters for the blade.
While they’re recovering, Lloyd then gets a panicked call from Zane saying that he checked the museum footage and Kai has been captured. The gets overheard by the royal family, and then Lloyd asks why they looked so upset at which they learn(sans Jay since wish) that Kai is royalty. The eldest son actually, and thus first in line for the throne, as well as being presumed dead for the past five years.
So basically Krux has kidnapped the King and Queen’s husband, the crown prince, and the second in line prince(if anyone knows a more fancy term for this please let me know)
Maya, Trimaar, Nya and Benthomaar are not happy. Not with the Ninjagian people, no they’re fine, but they’re bout ready to murder Krux, and they don’t even know about Ray yet.
So they offer any help they can.
Zap back to how Kai and Kalmaar are doing.
Kalmaar is….kind feral tbh. Like, he’s biting, clawing, trying to strangle them with his tentacles, and before they got vengestone cuffs on him was trying very hard to drown anyone.
Ofc, this does little to the Vermillion and soon Kalmaar finds himself in the cell right next to Kai’s. He’s overjoyed to see his brother again, albeit upset that this is why.
They both reluctantly come to the conclusion that there isn’t much they can do at the moment, and there are many Vermillion guards right outside their cells, so they decide to start catching up.
And for pretty much the rest of the season canon is pretty much the same, just shuffle around the characters a bit and add a protective Fish Fam.
Though their little trip back in time is quite sight for the Past EMs, especially because of how Kalmaar is using his powers, which leaves Kai mostly stuck in his Fish Form. This time they don’t even bother trying to explain, just give instructions on how to defeat the Vermillion and jumping into the battle.
And I mean just imagine that from the EMs perspective. An enemy you thought you defeated just returned with a giant metal creature and an army of snake things that don’t look like any kind of Serpentine they’d ever seen. Then a shark person and squid person??? show up and not only do they know how to fight the snake things but they also seem to be Elemental Masters???? Despite the fact Ray is very much alive and they didn’t even know there was a Water EM. Then the two not only summon dragons but they also fuse their dragons into an even bigger one with two heads.
And then all of them disappear into the sky without a trace.
W i l d
But yeah, after that it calms down quite a bit. Kai spends the time skip before S8 reconnecting with his family and his dad, and through some tech courtesy of Borg they're able to bring Ray with them :D
And Kai actually goes to meet the Jade Royal Family since y’know. He’s the crown prince. He’s kinda important and legitimately forgot about it. Luckily Kalmaar is able to help coach Kai through it, but is also a bit smug about how he finally has something to teach to his older brother. Kai was actually the one who suggested asking the ninja for help protecting the mask.....but we know how that inevitably ends.
Bentho, Kal and Nya were actually on the ship for this particular adventure, and then Nya and Bentho were dragged along when they got sent to the First Realm. Bentho, despite being the youngest sibling and to the surprise of literally everyone, was actually really good with kids and spent the most time with Little Wu, right behind Cole.
But yeah S9......Nya and Bentho have a really bad time in the First Realm beause of the heat, but at least they don’t get captured. Kai on the other hand....
Yeah at some point he gets accidentally splashed with water and well.....it definitely doesn’t help with the Oni accusations. The Dragon Hunters decide to burn him along with the Wind Dragon, which moves up their Build Our Own Dragon time table.
After they escape Faith is actually pretty chill about the whole fish thing, but she does ask a lot of questions.
And then S10..... kinda the same. They end up dropping off as many people as they can with the Merlopians since the smoke can’t reach them.
I might make a Part 3 for the rest of the seasons, but yeah. this is where we’re at.

Fuck it, Scarlet Witch x Toad headcanons cause I’m soft for them and actually really like them in my retelling/version of the X-men and Brotherhood.
-Toad and Wanda initially meet after the Brotherhood is formed, and Toad being the absolute socially ignorant dork he was (is) immediately blurred out WOW.
-Toad looks like the design for him on my other blog @gh0ulbunni go lookie anyways, Toad at the time had more of a disheveled look to him IE hair was super long, loads of fresh scabbed over scars, fight wounds, and deep claw marks from his habit of scratching his skin when anxious and peeling it (Motherfucker will literally peel chunks of skin from around his nails out of nervousness but I’m one to talk I do the same bullshit)
-Slowly, despite Pietro’s protests, she pities him and decided to interact with him more. Instead of the shriveling unintelligent mess that Magneto described and presented, she found Mortimer tinkering with an old car engine and taking notes in a sketchbook riddled with mathematics and engineering bits and mechanical concepts + he clearly was more intelligent than he let on but due to his fear of being beaten… Well, he played dumb so that people wouldn’t feel threatened and try to beat him down.
-Wanda pats his head one day with a genuine smile and boom. What have you done. What has SHE DONE. His heart belongs to her
-He actually really likes physical affection if he knows it’s coming. Someone tried to hug him from behind, he freaked, and swung hard enough to crush their jaw.
-Wanda sometimes has severe breakdowns and switches between Pietro and Mortimer for comfort. On one hand there’s her family, her brother, her twin! And on the other is this reclusive and feral yet sweet and affectionate guy who monks his forehead against hers as a sign of mutual affection and reassurance, who literally learned to make her and Pietro’s childhood meal just to comfort them, a man who spent weeks collecting the entire DVD set of I Love Lucy for her and Pietro as a birthday gift.
-Wanda quickly finds herself constantly thinking of him, she knows his quirks, little habits, routines, likes and dislikes, his strengths and weaknesses etc etc and definitely can and WILL rattle them off if you ask. Both of them blush around one another and seem to spend more and more time together… Until he disappears one day.
-Magneto explained that Toad had “died” on a mission, and who could back him up but Mystique, Sabertooth, and Mastermind! So… He was correct, right?
-So yeah, Wanda was heartbroken but shortly after she and Pietro joined the Avengers to help stop their homeland (Sokovia) from being destroyed by Ultron and you know the rest where she meets Vision and he saves her. Yes, Pietro gets shot but he lives.
-They all go about their daily lives when Wanda decides to visit her father and his gang… And who shows up all reformed and looking for revenge for his death at ol’ Erik’s hands? You guessed it, Toad man.
-So yeah, it was all a rouse because Toad was gaining courage and independence through Wanda and istg the moment he gets therapy and a good nights sleep he’d easily decimate both the X-men and Brotherhood! So in a moment of dumb, Magneto made up a mission where he supposedly executed Toad but not really.
-Chaos ensues and Mortimer and Wanda abruptly beat Magneto’s two ways from Sunday and she offers to let him live with her at the compound, which he hesitantly agrees to. By this point, Civil War was just about to happen and the tension and frustration between Wanda and Vision had grown so thick you would need a chainsaw to cut it.
-Android balls over here believed Stark and thought Wanda was going to be a danger to the world, that she was violent and unstable and the entirety of the public needed to be protected from her. Yeah Vis still loved her, but Mortimer offered a new opinion.
-“You can’t control their fears. Only your own. Humans simply fear power they can’t comprehend a person could have, they panic and try to put out the flame of power that person has… But it only makes the flames grow stronger. Fire can provide warmth and comfort, a warm blanket to shield you from the cold world, or it can burn you alive… You are a flame that humans try to control but can’t, they paint you as someone who’ll burn everything down and kill everything but that’s only if you LET them turn you into that!”
-It was at that moment, she knew, she had to keep him. This same man who showed himself to have the most childish nature ever, was suddenly so mature and warm in his comfort. He was the indestructible coal that fueled Wanda as a warm and loving flame in a hearth that warmed humanity and protected it from the cold evils. And it was safe to say they’d both kill to keep it going.
Wooo okay got a lil poetic there. Probably gonna make a part 2 to this! It’s not as heavy and is more about the stupid and hilarious stuff in their relationship and their quirks, like how Toad gets his own workshop in the compound and hangs up the most NSFW tapestries right behind the door to act as a curtain? The thought is that people will be too disturbed to disturb him with useless bullshit and will therefore leave him be

“But if you leave, they’ll find you.”
Again, you couldn’t argue with that. You couldn’t argue with anything he said; not, when he was so right about it.
Tumblr media
It had been days now, perhaps a week since you two left the village. Time passed quicker when you were hunted and always had someone on your heels, so you lost track of it. It moved especially fast if these someones had long jaws and big teeth, trying to maul you no matter if you were awake or asleep. If you didn’t see them while you wandered the forests by Atsumu’s side - stumbling and failing to keep up with him no matter how hard you tried - then they’d come to you in your nightmare-filled hours of sleep. You weren’t sure if you were cursed or ridden with remorse, but you had never been so constantly exhausted in your whole life before.
No matter how safe your current location was, you caught yourself looking over your shoulder all the time, double-checking your surroundings. Sometimes, subconsciously, you held yourself back from touching trees or kicked away your footsteps when there was time for it. Paranoia was a constant companion, and it wasn’t any better than the person you actually were traveling with.
There was no hiding it how bad of a travel companion Atsumu was. His constant picking on your abilities, the insults, and trashing wasn’t only going on your nerves but even deeper, down to your confidence and strength. When you two were talking, it was mostly arguing with each other or you telling him you couldn’t take another step without collapsing. The few times that you stood up for yourself, Atsumu made it crystal clear there was nowhere to go.
“But if you leave, they’ll find you,” was his new go-to sentence whenever you dared to defy him. As if he liked to remind you that the choice between pest and cholera you made wasn’t going to guarantee you freedom from the other. Atsumu might be the pest in your life at the moment, but there was something just as or even worse ever-present, ready to lash at you the moment you distanced yourself from the fox spirit.
Perhaps Atsumu wasn’t the prince you wanted, but you came to realize he was the fox you needed.
You couldn’t keep count of the times you two had been attacked on your journey, not specifically by other foxes, but there had been many other creatures that seemed to want to pick a bone with your protector. Whether it had been because of you or simply because they seemed to have a specific interest in Atsumu, these fights always were more gruesome than your innocent, human heart wanted to see. One or two times, there had been a critical amount of blood lost after a fight, but so far, you two had managed to get out of it every time. Those were nerve-wracking times, and you had thought about simply leaving Atsumu where he hid himself to recover, so you could run away. Perhaps it would have saved both of you some trouble if you separated, and maybe you would have been safer on your own, hiding and dodging the things that came after you.
But were you really? Thoughts flooded your mind almost instantly about the things that could happen when you were on your own. Most of the time, you didn’t even know where you were, stranded in the middle of the forest, and even if you knew, where would you go? You couldn’t go back to your’ home’ as it wasn’t a safe place for you anymore. And if you asked for help, the best anyone could do was bring you back there, where ultimately, you’d be found. You didn’t want to think about what would happen if another person tried to interfere with this particular situation you were in. What would happen to them.
Somehow, seeing him wounded and whiny, you couldn’t bring it over you to abandon him like that. Of course, there were more factors playing into why you’d stay by his side instead of leave, but you were still struggling with accepting them all. Even if he probably would have survived without you, you made yourself believe you felt indebted to at least try to help him, perhaps tend to his wounds amateurishly. In the end, you rather endure his grumbles and moans than to really leave him, and that should have told you everything right back then.
It should have told you what kind of coward you were.
You were scared of the marriage, having wanted nothing more than run away. But now you were scared of the consequences - your life, even. To some degree, Atsumu was scary too. You saw him - his real from - and you watched him fight. If he wanted, he could kill you in one bite with his giant maw, and so, staying with him was scary. But he didn’t. Quite on the contrary, and even more so, against his harsh words, he still held your hand gently, warmed you at night by laying down next to you so you wouldn’t get cold, and brought you food. You stopped asking where he got it, checking the freshness date on the packages only to find them being practically new. Yes, you were curious, but he had his ways, and he never got you the same thing twice, and especially not if you seemed to have disliked it.
This journey wasn’t quite what you expected your life to be, but every day, it was taking new paths and let you experience more things. Even if civilization was close, you began to forget and yearn less for it, the longer you spent time with Atsumu outdoors. Of course, there were things you absolutely missed, like normal baths and, well, fridges to open even if you aren’t hungry, but Atsumu’s drive to move forward was stronger than your desire to go back to normality again. And really, there was less and less to complain about because if you did, he’d take care of it. He’d run and fetch you new clothes or yarn to fix small holes in yours. If you were cold, he found you fur to wear, and if you two crossed paths with a river, he let you wash up even without looking - you hoped.
Over time, he was less and less an annoyance as he was a caretaker. Though his walking pace never slowed to something you could match, he still stopped ever so often to wait for you or even offered to carry you on your worst days. Riding a gigantic fox wasn’t comfortable, but efficient, and holding on to him tightly, the wind never won over the warmth coming from him.
Still, and you assumed Atsumu knew this as much as you did, this arrangement you two had wasn’t something meant to last.
Tumblr media
“I know they’ll find me,” you whispered, thoughtfully dragging your hand over the arm he laid around you, spooning you from behind so you wouldn’t be cold. The makeshift dip in the ground you two used as a bit of a cover for the night was anything but comfortable, but having something breathing and warm lay beside you and hold you did a lot for you. “But… this life… I can’t live it either.”
He grumbled something into the back of your head, his voice lost inside your hair. Surely, it was just another complaint, but you understood what he wanted to say. To him, you going back and living a relatively everyday, human life was out of question, Atsumu always insisting that you’d be found and killed if you left his side. You offered for him to come with you, to live a ‘normal’ life with you despite your gut telling you he would be the largest annoyance you ever encountered. Still, he shied away from it.
From what you had found out, he and his brother - Osamu - only recently joined the other foxes who, against what the two were, lived relatively civilized even though they kept themselves hidden from the public still. Meaning, the brothers were actually fox spirits much more feral than the others and not used to humans or how they behaved. Atsumu explained that with a stern expression, unlike his usual chipper one. Personally, he’d rather describe himself as ‘fun’, but apparently, even he knew the differences that separated the two from the clan.
Living like humans didn’t seem like an option for him after centuries of being wild. But to expect the same amount of enthusiasm he had for nature, slowly but surely, seemed to also dawn on him as impossible. It became evidently clear that it wasn’t just your state of being that collided with each other, but generally two wholly different worlds that just didn’t fit. If you liked the day, he liked the night. You preferred warm water, and he cold - he the mountains, rather than the beach and warm sea.
It seemed impossible that you two would ever get on the same level of understanding, and you were painfully aware that one of you would have to cave in if you two decided to stick together for a better chance of survival. Your mind began to buzz as you thought over all the possibilities, making you fear that there was another night of restless dozing incoming.
“So you want to leave me… too.”
His whispers barely reached you while your head was focused entirely on different things, but his voice made you listen up. “What did you say?” you mumbled, slurring your words as you felt the heaviness of the drowsy half-sleep that you had already been under. Atsumu’s hold around you became tighter, and he pressed himself right up to you, almost as if he was trying to melt into you and hide, but your stirred, feeling alerted by the change of moods, making it impossible for him.
“If you go, I’ll be all alone…” he mumbled softly. Meeting his gaze head-on turned out to be an unfortunate action, your heart feeling a throbbing pain. For the better portion of the time spent with him, you had cursed Atsumu under your breath, wished for him to leave, and especially keep his potty mouth shut. But right now, he looked like a baby animal, with wide eyes and puppy gaze. A being you’d rather protect and coddle instead of the monstrosity he actually was.
Perhaps he was uncomfortable, realizing you could see his feelings, so he quickly hid his expression in your shoulder, putting on a fake laugh as he spoke. “I can’t go back either, and my brother didn’t want to come. So if you go… I’ll be truly alone.”
Biting your lip, you felt an incoming headache press on your brain. The sudden change of feelings inside you was raging war against the ideas of the future you had been building in your mind and thought over. It was true, so much you knew, Atsumu left a lot to break you out and run away, no matter how much he seemed to think humans were worthless beings. Maybe that was the reason that he kept insisting on sticking around with you and tried to keep you satisfied even if his words were as harsh as bites.
In some ways, that made him the same as you. Both of you only had the other one left and nothing else.
Even before realizing this, you had noticed how Atsumu was treated by other creatures. If he wasn’t fighting someone, even spiritual beings seemed to want little to do with him, huffing and leaving with a scowl. You couldn’t know if there wasn’t at least one other friend he had, but currently, it didn’t seem like he was very much liked by others besides his brother, who he spoke fondly off most of the time. Though you wondered why, you didn’t voice these questions, instead trying to think of what to do.
Happiness clearly looked different to you, but Atsumu’s taunts aside, he wasn’t as bad as that he’d deserve being robbed of it too. Even if separating seemed like the best way in the long run, it broke your heart knowing he’d be in this predicament just because of you and because you made the more selfish decision. Perhaps if you two knew each other longer, he would become gentler in his choice of words? Maybe he’d be more considerate and kind once he got to know you as not just the ‘human’ but actually as an individual? There was still the possibility he’d change, right?
“I’m…” you spoke up, not having thought about it twice. “I’m not leaving.”
“You’re not?” he immediately chimed up, pushing himself up and peering over your shoulder. “You’re going to stay with me?”
“Y-Yeah…” you stuttered, deciding to keep the idea of leaving at a later point in time to yourself. “I’m staying.”
His face suddenly was too close again, warm breath caressing your skin and messing with your head. Your heart picked up the pace as you didn’t know how to respond to the broad smile and delight in his shining eyes. If you turned your head a tiny bit more to the right, you could have kissed him without any more effort. There was something nudging you in your head to do it, but curse your reasonability - or bless it - that you figured that would set more things off than you could handle.
“Forever?” he asked as innocent as a child, and you gulped, immediately feeling like you were caught in a lie. There was no plan of sticking with him longer than necessary, and ‘forever’ seemed awfully long for some time. Atsumu waited for a reply almost angelically patient. Instead, you felt his face nuzzling against yours, like an affectionate pet would. He genuinely seemed to be happily anticipating your response, and you wondered if it meant so much to him to not be alone anymore. There must have been more loss than you could imagine in his life that he’d be satisfied to be by your side despite him always making it seem like you weren’t up to his standards.
“Forever is awfully long,” you eventually contemplated out loud, and though you couldn’t see it, you heard the disappointment and frustration in his voice as he spoke up again.
“And I am supposed to endure it all alone?”
Of course, it wasn’t fair, you understood it too. You knew he lost a lot too by helping you, and if this was his only requirement, maybe you could fulfill it. It wasn’t like he asked you to serve yourself on a silver plate, and no, he did not need to remind you what the pros and cons were of staying with him.
With him, at least, you’d be safe from whatever was coming your way.
He had proven himself more than once to you.
Slowly, you sat up, even though Atsumu’s body followed as if he was an extra limb on you. His touches and closeness never ceased, and you didn’t have the strength or even will to fight it. “I can’t promise forever,” you stated firmly, deciding to put a foot down in this conversation, even though you knew it was time one of you caved in to the other. And it seemed it would be you.
“But for now, I will stay. You’re not alone if I’m around, right?”
For a solid minute, and with the time stretching out the longer it was quiet, you two merely stared at each other, neither of you budging to the other’s stare down. If everything in this world was scary, it might be true that you underestimated Atsumu, but he was the least of your concerns now. He’d yap and snap, but you found some trust in yourself that he wasn’t going to bite you.
“Pinky swear?” he required softly, being calm once more. With how close he was, only a whisper was appropriated to not burst anyone’s eardrums, and from the corner of your eyes, you saw his hand lift to the height of your head, pinky stretched out in anticipation.
You thought for a second. There was a nudge in the back of your head about supernatural beings and promises, but it was late, and you were tired and your memories fuzzy. Something in you didn’t want to promise it; after all, who could know how long this promise was going to last, and you didn’t want to think of the consequences when breaking it. But if it would end the conversation, and positively too, then who were you to deny him?
Linking your pinky with his, you felt the fingers curl around each other tightly as if it strengthened the bond you just made. Once he released you again, you sunk down, back into his arms, wondering if you had made a mistake just now. But when you laid your head against his chest, you heard an enthusiastic rhythm coming from it, and it made you almost believe that it was the right choice.
“Tomorrow, let’s search for a home,” he mumbled. These were words meant for you, but they sounded incomplete as if there was a hint you missed in them. Your eyelids became heavier as you listened to Atsumu’s heartbeat, his warmth lulling you into sleep, and you heaved another deep sigh as you wondered if the feeling of being safe in his arms was justified or just another illusion in your exhaustion. The last thought that crossed you before falling asleep was if this was any different as staying with the clan you tried so hard to escape from. But your mind gave out before you could think about it any more thoroughly.
Tumblr media
Little did you know that Atsumu would never ever let you go again. Even if you had told him ‘no’, it wasn’t like it was actually your decision, and with a wagging tail, he looked forward to the new future with you he’d build. One that you couldn’t run from, unlike what awaited you in the past.
After all, Atsumu was the only one that could keep you safe, and he’d make sure you’d never forget it.

a/n: I can't lie, this chapter was a bit of a struggle for me as I was lacking a clear direction for it, but I hope I was able to make Atsumu's yandere personality in connection with his more real struggles that I think he'd experience, shine through! Do let me know what you thought in the comments or asks and thanks for reading ♥ Next up is Osamu!

Broken but not Shattered Ch.8
Tumblr media
Taking those steps down into the main living area of his omega's home he felt his heart hammer against his rib cage. He was about to meet her father, her mother, her brother, her family. Glancing down to his clothes he tried to brush the non existent wrinkles out of the white dress shirt he had snagged before they had left school. Making sure it was tucked in correctly he cursed under his breath when he glanced down to his pants that he had outgrown, the navy blue pants now above his ankles. Thankfully he was wearing his black socks so maybe it wouldn't be that noticeable. He had washed his hair before they left school so hopefully it wouldn't look greasy.
All he wanted was to make a good impression, he just wanted them to like him, accept him as their daughter's mate. He wasn't rich, hell he was downright poor, he couldn't woo them with money he didn't have. His family name wasn't impressive, it was a muggle name, even worse. He was a half blood and she was a pure blood. He knew many families that wouldn't allow such a relationship, wouldn't want their blood line tainted. Would her parents hold that against him? Would they want to know about his own family right away? What if they disapproved of them? He didn't want to loose her. He couldn't, he wouldn't, not her, not the only happiness he had in his life. No he may not be rich or from a pure line but he would prove to them that he was deserving of their daughter.
Stepping down that last step he took a deep breath as they turned to enter the living room. As soon as they entered the room he saw a large smile come over his darling's face before she let go of his hand and moved over to wrap her arms around what he knew was her father, then mother then brother. Her father was a man of average height, stocky built with shorter reddish blond hair and eyes that matched y/n's but even a bit more feral. The man had a longish goatee and he wore simple clothing of a pair of jeans and a flannel shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows. There was however a scar on the left side of his face that disappeared beneath his clothes, it resembled one caused by a burn. Her mother was quite beautiful with her dark red hair and bright smile. She wore a casual green dress with a pair of heels. As for her twin brother, the male was about his height maybe a little shorter but stocky like his father. He and Y/n had the same crimson hair but he had his mother's green eyes. He was dressed in a simple jeans and shirt.
"Haha! There's my little firefly! Mmmmm I missed you sweet pea." he spoke as he pulled back to let his wife hug their daughter.
"Oh nighean look 'ow much ya 'ave grown."
"Really she still looks puny to me."
Shoving your brother you grinned and looked back to your dad to see him looking towards the doorway. He had his arms crossed over his chest and his smile had faded a bit. Glancing between him and Severus you looked to your mother for help.
"Asher dear be nice."
Feeling his wife's hand on his chest he rose a brow, "I am bein' nice Lee, have a stabbed the boy like your goat of a father did the first time he met me. No."
Swallowing hard he kept his shoulders square and decide to face this head on. Walking towards the intimidating alpha male he kept his stare as he held out his hand. "Severus Snape. It is a pleasure to meet you Mister L/n."
Not yet looking to the boy's hand he rose his chin the smallest amount as his father instincts kicked in. "So you are the one who claimed my sweet daughter?"
"I wouldn't call Y/n sweet.... oww." Flint mumbled before hissing out and rubbing his arm where his mother had smacked him.
"Yes sir." he spoke in a clear voice, refusing to show weakness. He wouldn't back down, he wouldn't loose her without a fight.
Humming he narrowed his eyes a bit. "Tell me boy, why is it I should allow you to lay such ownership on my pup?"
"Da...." Closing your mouth when you saw your mom give you a warning look you looked to Severus in both pity and nervousness.
Taking a deep breath he looked the man in the eye, "I am not asking for your permission sir because Y/n is not an object to be owned, she is her own kind, funny, smart and caring person. I ask for your blessing, for all three of your blessings..." he spoke, casting her mother and brother a look before looking back to her father, "... in courting Y/n. I love her and I am honored that she chose me." It felt like he was going to have a heart attack. As much as he wanted to look to his love he kept her father's stare until a large smile came over the man's face and he finally reached out to shake his hand but when he was suddenly yanked forward into a stone hard chest he felt his eyes go wide.
Giving the boy a short embrace he pulled away and smacked his back, "Good answer son. You have my blessing but if you ever do wrong by her then well... I got plenty of land, they won't ever find your body or at least not all of it."
Smacking her husband's arm she moved in beside him, "Oh that's enough ya big bull. Let the poor lad breath. Besides if we ever 'ave any worries I know all I 'ave ta do is go talk ta Eileen." she said, raising a brow to the boy who she noticed looked rather shocked by her guess of who his mother was.
Standing back straight he looked to the woman, "You know my mother?"
"Aye, we were in Slytherin together in our years at Hogwarts. I 'aven't seen 'er since Graduation but I do hope she is doin' well."
Simply nodding he saw the woman smile.
"Good. You make sure to tell her that Leatha said hello. Perhaps one day we may all 'ave supper."
Stiffening but managing to play it off he gave another nod. "Perhaps, thank you Mrs. L/n."
"Of course but Severus dear ya must stop with this Mr an' Mrs L/n nonsense, my name is Leatha and the ol' bull you stared down is Asher. Our son, Y/n's brother is Flin..."
"Oh would you two quit it you have only been around each other for five minutes and already you are at each other's throat." Holding his twins away from each other by the collars of their shirts he let them go and held out his hand. "Alright, wands before either one of you get any smart ideas and call the ministry on us."
Watching as Flint gave over his wand you bit the inside of your lip and reached into your back pocket. Looking down you quickly placed the broken wand into your dad's hand.
"Another one?! How many wands are you gonna go through?"
Giving him a guilty look you smiled sheepishly. "It was an accident."
"You said that the last four times."
"But I mean it this time, it wasn't my fault, this asshole threw me into the lake and I landed on this rock and my wand was in my robe pocket and.... see look I have proof." Pulling up your shirt and pushing down the side of your pants just a small amount to show your hip bone you heard Flint let out a hiss.
"Damn Y/n/n."
Hearing Y/n mention James throwing her into the lake he looked over and felt his brows lower when he saw the dark colored bruise on her hip bone. There was even a darker mark where her wand had been pushed harder into her skin. Feeling the alpha in him rage that his female had been hurt he had to take a deep breath to calm down. As soon as her shirt was pulled back down he snapped out of his thoughts and looked to her father as he told her he would replace the wand.
"... That boy gives you anymore trouble you do what I told you not to do to boys."
Nodding you looked back to Severus and smiled as he moved over to you.
"Hey man I'm Flint, nice to meet ya. If my sister is blackmailing you blink three times." he spoke, talking behind his hand for the last part and then letting out a 'ooff' when Y/n smacked him in the stomach.
Grinning a little at their sibling banter he nodded his head to the male. "Severus, no I am here of my own free will."
"Okay well later I'll show you all of her old embarrassing photos."
Grinning he saw his dearest's eyes narrow at her brother before he walked away with a smirk. Noticing her parents had also left the room he felt her grab his hand and pull him with her back up to her room, hearing her mother tell them that supper would be ready in about thirty minutes. Getting upstairs he watched her close the door till only a crack was left. "Ah Y/n will your parents be alri...mmm"
Pressing your lips to his you closed your eyes and felt his hands move to your waist as he joined in. After a few seconds you pulled away and looked up into his lidded eyes. "Thank you."
"For?"
Twirling his hair you around your finger you smiled softly and leaned more into his so both of your bodies were pressed up against one another's. "What you said... about me not... not being an object to be owned. You don't know how much that meant to me."
Blinking he grinned and wrapped his arm around her while his free hand moved to stroke her cheek. "And I meant every word of it." When she closed her eyes and leaned into his touch he thought back to the bruise and frowned. "Why did you not mention your bruised hip to me? Why did you not tell me that he had hurt more than just your hand?"
Placing your chin on his chest you looked up to him. "Sev it's okay."
"No it is not. I should have been there to protect you. I..."
"Enough. It's summer, James and the rest of them are far away right now. Let's just enjoy this week huh?"
Sighing he gave a nod, he would let it go, for now. Looking past her to the books and tilted his head at the things lined beside them. "Are those records?"
............................................
Waking the next morning he dressed in the same clothes he wore yesterday. After getting ready for the day he stepped out of his room and looked to Y/n's door to see open. Going to walk towards it he heard a noise from downstairs and stopped. Recognizing her voice he made his way down, noticing Flint's door was also open. They must both be downstairs. He hoped he hadn't slept in too late, he had stayed up well past they called it a night to read some of the book Dumbledore had allowed him to borrow but ended up finishing it. He wanted to have as much knowledge on his and Y/n's relationship as possible. Although he wasn't very fond of the way those books labeled omegas as dim witted nor the way they deemed them as nothing more than breeding tools. One of the chapters in the book he had felt his nose wrinkle the entire time he read it as it spoke about how omegas were valued for their capability to produce many powerful pups. One paragraph in particular stated that they were not expected to have much in a way of wits or personality, that if an alpha wizard wanted actual companionship he should seek a proper wife and have his omega there as entertainment and to enhance ones family line. The whole mindset of those old bastards disgusted him. No he loved his omega, she was smart and funny and kind. Hell she was the only one he ever actually wanted to talk to well except for Lily but he wouldn't think of that right now. He would never think of keeping her for mere 'entertainment', she would always be the only woman he would ever desire, the only woman he would ever have as a wife.
Finding the twins in the kitchen he saw Y/n standing in front of the stove, cooking it looked like while Flint sat at the small breakfast nook eating what looked to be a bowl of cereal while reading a comic. Licking his lips he looked back to the female and felt his chest warm. It was easy for him to imagine how their life might look in another two years. How wonderful it would be to wake up to the woman he loved cooking for him, or him her.
"Sev?"
Snapping out of his thoughts he saw that she was looking at him, "I am sorry what did you say?"
"I said good morning." you beamed. "I'm making breakfast if you want some." you told him with a smile.
Nodding he smiled back. "Thank you and good morning to you as well." Seeing her turn back to the stove he slowly walked over to her. She was wearing a pair of jean shorts today, they looked like they had just been a pair of cut offs but he couldn't lie the amount of her skin he was able to see between that and her t-shirt that was tied into a knot in front made him swallow hard. Standing beside her he looked down to see her frying bacon and returned her smile when she looked to him. "Is there anything I can do?" he asked but saw her shake her head. Giving her a look he saw her roll her eyes.
"Juice is in the fridge."
Nodding he moved to make her and himself some. Glancing to Flint he asked if he too wanted some but saw him raise his own glass. He was coming to find her brother easy going enough, in fact her family as a whole seemed to be that way. They all joked and laughed together, they talked openly and just seemed to enjoy each other's presence. At one point he had stared wide eyes when Flint smacked Asher in the head as he passed by, not hard but enough to get his attention. If he had done something like that to his own father... shuddering he decided not to think on it. Taking their cups to the table he saw Y/n soon bring over the food, siting a plate before him and Flint before going back to the stove.
Finishing a breakfast sandwich for both your mom and dad you wrapped them in a cloth before turning back to the stove. Going to plate your own food you jumped in surprise when the door to the mud room slammed open.
"Y/n beautiful you're back... and making me breakfast, damn this is a dream come true... well kinda in my dream you'd be naked." he grinned before quickly dodging the spoon Flint threw across the room towards his head. "Ha ya missed!"
Rolling your eyes you placed your egg and bacon on your plate as Canyon and Cat walked into the kitchen. "Flint you know daddy said no animals in the house. I'm pretty sure that means Canyon."
"Oh baby you have no idea how much of an animal I can be." Canyon spoke as he walked beside the female wiggling his brows.
Gritting his teeth at the male known as Canyon he went to stand up for his omega but was cut off by her parents walking in.
"Canyon do you know what a Eunuchs is?" Asher spoke as he walked into the room, having heard what the teenage boy had said to his daughter.
"Y/n dear no looks of murderous intent before breakfast." Leatha told her daughter as she passed.
Moving to sit beside Severus you saw him glaring daggers at the other male and leaned forward to kiss his cheek, pulling back to give him a wink.
"Um excuse me, who is this? Why is he siting in my spot and why are you kissing him?"
Scooting over as his best friend joined his side of the bench beside his girlfriend he rolled his eyes and chewed the slice of bacon in his mouth. "I told you her boyfriend was coming."
"Boyfriend?! Y/n baby what about us?"
"There is no us, I have told you that a million times. Just because it is in your head doesn't mean it is real." you growled, pointing your fork at him.
Gasping he placed his hand over his heart dramatically. "You wound me... don't worry though I understand that we have been apart for too long and maybe you just need your space, you will come to your senses eventually." taking a deep breath he snapped his eyes to the black haired male, "But you, oh I will be watching you, you best not get to comfy with my girl or else I'll....ahhh."
Moving your foot back to it's place you bit into a piece of bacon and heard your brother and Cat laughing.
Smiling to the new guest Cat held out her hand. "Hiya I'm Catalina but you can just call me Cat, just ignore my brother Y/n/n hit him in the head with a shovel too hard when we were little."
Seeing the female offering her hand he cleaned his fingers on the napkin before shaking her hand.
"Ah the first time I knew I was in love."
"Shut up Can!"
Chuckling a little under his breath when the three of them spoke in unison he looked back to Cat, "Severus Snape."
"Alright ya lot we are off, won't be 'ome till late tonight so ya all are on yer own fur supper." Moving to kiss both her son and daughter's head she stood back straight. "Thank ya fur breakfast nighean."
"No fighting or at least if you do don't cause permeant damage or break anything. You two don't forget to do your chores and... don't leave Canyon unsupervised."
"Hey I am like the most..."
"Shut up boy." he spoke, smacking him in the back of the head as he passed.
With that they were all left alone and he watched as Canyon pulled himself back into his seat. As soon as the male reached across to take some of Y/n's bacon his omega moved to stab him with the fork but he moved his hand and he gave him a warning glare.
................................
He had spent most of the morning helping Y/n with her chores, she didn't have many just to feed the animals, collect the eggs and vegetables from the garden then make sure the house stayed clean. From what she told him they all shared the load and there really wasn't a set list just do what needed to be done. Now that they were done though she had asked him if he wanted to go on a walk with her which he had gladly accepted since he wanted to get away from Canyon. The beta wasn't mean by any accounts if anything he just found him annoying but Y/n had told him that he just liked to make people laugh and joke around, sometimes too much.
".... I've known him ever since I can remember. His parents and my parents are friends and so we all just sorta grew up together." you told him as you both walked, holding his hand as he looked around at the scenery. "There dad is an aroura and their mom is a house wife, their nice people, growing up we were always back and forth at each other's houses."
"Do they know... about you?"
"Yes. When all of that stuff happened at Ilvermorny Mr. Braxton was the one that kept me from getting in trouble."
"How so?"
"Well not even the Ministry knows about me, my parents don't trust many with the knowledge so Mr. Braxton told them that Mr. Lyre took me to his home against my will, which was the truth. He said that when my father got word I was missing along with the teacher he went to his home and that in the struggle a spell had knocked over the candle, before any of us had noticed the house went up in flames."
Nodding he continued walking. "Who else knows?"
"Um.. well there is Dumbledore, he and my grandfather were good friends not to mention he knew my mother when she went to Hogwarts so it was easy for my parents to trust him. McGonagall knows as well as Madam Pomfrey. Ummm...... that's pretty much it. The headmistress at Ilvermorny knew of course but she was it there."
Humming he nodded. Thinking on something else that he had been wanting to know more about he licked his lips. The book had touched base about the whole nesting thing a bit but it didn't much go into detail beyond it being a thing omegas built to comfort them. 'Messy piles of fabric and nonsense' the book had called them. Y/n's however from what he had seen was nothing of the sort. It looked comfy and from the way she had acted he knew it was something important to her and that meant that he wanted to understand it more. "Yesterday before your parents got home when we were in your room you called your bed your nest... could you explain it to me?"
Biting your lip you looked down and tilted your head. You were nervous to tell him about your nest, not many people understood it, the only people that had really even seen it was your parents and brother, you wouldn't even let Cat or Canyon near it.
Glancing down to her and seeing her nervous looking he knit his brows some. "You do not have to tell me if you are not..."
"It's not that Sev I just... well I'm just scared you will think it is stupid." you told him honestly, rubbing your arm as you became self conscious.
Stopping he turned her towards him and curled his finger under her chin to raise her eyes to his. "Nothing that is important or meaningful to you will ever be described as stupid by me."
Seeing nothing but sincerity in his eyes you felt that warming in your heart and smiled softly. Starting to walk again you continued holding his hand as you thought of a way to explain your nest to him. "A nest is an omega's safe place, a place of comfort..."
................................
As the days went by you and Severus spent as much time together as you could. Your parents had only asked you to work once that week and when you did Severus had went along with you to keep you company in between tables. During the time the two of you had together you showed him places around your home, even going swimming in the river by the house at one point with your brother and the others. It was a summer you would never forget and one that brought the two of you that much closer. On that last day he was meant to be there with you he had surprised you by saying he wanted to go for a walk again after supper. As much as he tried to start up a conversation with you, you just couldn't think past how after that day you wouldn't see him for weeks.
Frowning down at his omega as she kept her sad eyes cast towards the ground he felt that small clenching in his heart and licked his lips. Rubbing his fingers over the item in his pocket he hoped that it helped cheer her up, that it helped ease her worries. He had been working on it for the past three days, wanting it to be perfect for his dear. Seeing the tree they had set under by the edge of the river to have lunch at daily he gently tugged on her hand to lead her to it. Sitting down on the grass he saw her go to sit beside him but quickly pulled her down to his lap. He was sure his cheeks were just as red as hers but when he had seen the way Cat always sat in Flint's lap he had craved nothing more than to hold his own female that way.
Blushing beet red as he pulled you to sit in his lap you felt him pull on your knee and understood what he wanted. Straddling his lap you felt his hands move to your thighs, even through your pants legs you could feel the warmth from his palms and wished you had been wearing shorts today. Looking up from his chest to his eyes which were only a little higher than your own you saw him only staring down at you.
Looking into her eyes that he adored so much he felt that warmth flood his chest but still he could feel that pinching from her sadness. Rubbing one hand up to rest on her waist he lifted his other one to stroke her cheek with his knuckles. "It is only for a short while darling." Instantly her eyes snapped back down and he felt that pinching in his chest turn into a clenching.
"Seven weeks is not a short while." you mumbled, your lip threatening to tremble. Fittling with the buttons of his pale blue shirt you felt your heart ache in your chest when you thought of how tomorrow you would be alone all summer. While yes you had Flint and the others it wasn't the same.
They had never been apart that long, they had never gone more than a few hours without seeing each other and even then they were within running distance. Tomorrow he would go back to Spinner's End and then they would be in completely different countries. Closing his eyes as the alpha in him raged he took a deep breath. There was nothing they could do. He knew he couldn't stay and he damn sure wasn't asking her to come stay at his home, he didn't want her anywhere near that place. No they had to separate, even if neither of them wanted to.
Feeling something wet touch his knuckle he felt his brow twitch. She was crying. Licking his lips he opened his hand to cup her cheek, wiping away her tear with his thumb. "Oh my beautiful girl please do not cry." When she refused to look to him or say a word he pushed his hand to the back of her head and pulled her to him. Feeling her shoulders curl up and her nose nuzzle into his neck he wrapped both of his arms around her to hug her close.
Crying silently for a while neither of you said a word as he simply held you. Feeling him kiss your head before you felt him feeling around for something in his pocket you furrowed your brows together and leaned up to look at him. "What are yo..."
"Close your eyes." Seeing her look to him questionably he rose a brow, "Do as I say... please."
Giggling lightly as he tried to give a command and failed you closed your eyes like he 'told you'. Keeping your hands on his chest you felt him take your left hand and turn it up before he was placing something in it.
Looking to the small vial to make sure for the thousandth time it was truly perfect he took a deep breath and looked back up to her. "Open."
Opening your eyes you looked first to him then your eyes drifted down to what laid in your hand. It was a small vial, a small glass potion vial, smaller than the norm and on a chain. Lifting it up to inspect it you tilted your head a bit as you took in what was inside. Set in the bottom was one small piece of a red crystal, then a black shiny one, on top of that was small white flowers. Around all of that was swirling smoke.
He watched her face as her eyes opened, he watched as that sweet smile came to her lips, growing the longer she looked at it. Her head tilted in curiosity as she inspected the contents he had searched and searched to find, finally locating the crystals with the guidance of her mother. Watching as she turned the vial to read the word he had enchanted the smoke to spell out when only she looked at it he licked his lips, hoping she wouldn't find it dumb.
"Always." you read out loud with a smile on your lips.
"My promises to you." Rubbing her hip while he brushed back her hair with the other he grinned softly down at her hand. "A red shard of Garnet, to give you whatever you heart desires, to help your dreams come true. A piece of Obsidian, protection from any harm that comes your way. Then lastly a branch of Gypsophila, everlasting love.... It will never wither, never die. Just like my love for you." Looking up to her face he saw more tears rolling down her cheeks and felt his face fall. Was it really that bad of a gift? He knew it was by no means the beautiful, shiny jewelry women normally wore but he had put in a lot of thought to it. "Y/n I... you do not have to accept it if you do not like i..."
Kissing him once and then twice you pulled away to wipe your eyes, a large smile on your face. "Thank you." you choked out before you were kissing him again.
Grinning he felt the worry that had filled him drift away as she peppered his lips and cheeks in kisses.
Pulling away you unhooked the chain so you could put it around your neck. Looking down at it you smiled but as your eyes drifted down to the amulet hanging a few inches lower you bit your lip. How you wished you didn't have to hide, that you could just be yourself. Maybe..... if only for a moment.... Taking the leather cord you brought it over your head.
"What are you doing?" Seeing her remove the amulet he knit his brows. "Y/n, darling I... I do not think that is wise...."
"I don't want to hide.... I want to be myself with you... even if it's only for a few seconds." You could see the uncertainty on his face but you knew what you wanted and you had a hunch he did too. Sitting the amulet on the ground by your knee you felt the magic release from you and took a deep breath. Looking up his shirt then neck to his jaw and then face you saw him stiff looking. Was he holding his breath? Leaning forward you felt his body tense up and then heard him breath in.
He had tried, he had tried to hold back but when she leaned into him and he breathed in, that was it. All of a sudden that delicious scent was filling his nose and then head making him feel light as a feather and chained to the ground all at the same time. He could feel as the alpha in him was awakened and before he could stop himself his hands were pulling her flush to his body and his mouth was claiming hers.
You were a bit taken back when he suddenly took charge but not put off. In fact you kind of liked it. His hands were holding you close to his body with one on the back of your neck and the other your lower back. At first it was long kisses but then something warm and wet was tracing at your lower lip. You weren't a fool, you knew what he was requesting. With your eyes closed you parted your lips and allowed him to deepen the kiss.
He had no idea what the hell he was doing but he was sure they would figure it out together. One thing he was sure about was how good she tasted. Everything about her set his body on fire and made him feel like he could run a marathon as long as she was at the finish line waiting for him.
Rolling your tongue in time with his after the two of you got the hang of it you fisted your hands in the front of his shirt. His own had started rubbing around your back some and even gripping your hip. It was obvious the two of you had no experience but none of it mattered. All too soon you felt yourself drifting away, a incredible warmth flooding you.
He was well aware of the uncomfortable tightness of his pants as well as the growing urge that was filling him. As much as he wished he could simply blame this on teenage hormones he had a feeling it went deeper than that, an alpha who craved his omega. No. No they couldn't. He wouldn't, not now. Grabbing the reins he broke the kiss and panted for air. Feeling her kiss down to his neck he had to close his eyes tight and remember all of the reasons screaming at him of why they could not continue.
Peppering his jaw and neck in light kisses you felt something, heard something. A silent command your inner omega was telling you to do. Licking over one spot of his neck with the tip of your tongue you opened your mouth and leaned forward. Feeling your lips draw back over your teeth you moved to place your mark but before you could that pressure was back, that weight on your chest as the amulet was slipped over your head. Blinking you pulled back enough to look up at him.
"As much as I would love to continue this my dear we cannot. Not now, not yet." Seeing those feral blue eyes looking up at him he took a breath. "You understand, right?" His answer was a simple kiss to his lips. When she stood and held out her hand for him to take he did and let her pull him back to her home and up to her bedroom. Flint, Canyon and Cat were in the living room, lounging on the couch and watching something on the Television that Canyon had brought over earlier in the week to watch movies on. As they passed by he only saw Flint look to them and narrow his eyes a bit before looking back to the screen. He had come to learn that while Flint was a laid back alpha male like his father, he was still an alpha and Y/n was his omega sister who he loved and would protect from any threat.
Pulling Severus up to your bedroom you removed your shoes, watching as he followed. It was dark in the room but with a wave of your hand the candles on your bedside table lit. Looking to your nest you felt unsure for a moment but the thought of your nest holding his scent was too much to pass up. Pulling on his finger you moved over to the edge and climbed in, tugging on his digit to urge him to join you inside.
Watching her use the wandless magic he grinned. She stood still for a moment before she was pulling him towards the bed. Watching as she climbed inside he stood still, there was a look of hesitation on her face before she was again tugging on his finger. Raising his brows he looked to her, seeing her give him a small grin he inhaled and carefully moved inside. He was so afraid he was going to mess something up, it was made even worse when he saw her furrowed brows watching him.
He was so stiff, did he not like it, did he not find it comfortable?
"Are you sure you want me in here?"
Looking down you bit your lip, "You don't like it?"
Hearing how soft her voice had went he froze "Wh... no that is not what I meant. I do like it darling I just, well I do not want to mess anything up or make you uncomfortable."
Looking up to him you grinned softly at how caring and considerate he was. "You won't mess anything up just ah well don't move anything. I do want you in here, you are my alpha and I want to share my nest with you."
Hearing this he felt the corner of his lip lift up some and his cheeks warm. Carefully getting comfortable in the middle of the nest he froze when she suddenly told him to wait. Watching as she pulled on the black silk blanket that was slightly under him he lifted up enough so she coudl pull it out and watched as she covered them both in it before snuggling down beside him. Relaxing into the softness that was her nest he sighed as she cuddled up into his front.
Nuzzling his neck you breathe din as much of his scent as you could. You were going to miss him so damn much. God you didn't want to cry again, no you wouldn't cry. Sniffling you smiled and kissed his the skin just above his collar. "I love you Sev."
Tightening his arms around her he pressed his lips to the top of her head. "Not nearly as much as I love you my beautiful girl." Wanting to lighten the mood some and keep away the sadness of their soon to be separation he grinned softly. "This is extremely comfortable by the way. When we have a house and bed of our own you will have to make us a nest to share."
Smiling brightly you beamed at his compliment and the promise of a future together. "Deal."
Hearing her let out a yawn he smiled softly, "Sleep my love."
You didn't want to sleep, didn't want to waste the last bit of time together but the sound of his heart, his scent and the warmth of him laying with you in your nest was all too much and soon you were out.
He stayed awake long after she had fell asleep curled up into his chest. Starring at the blue and purple fabric hug above them he let his mind wander, his fingers stroking her hair. When he heard the sound of a door closing and footsteps coming up the stairs. Quickly closing his eyes and pretending to be asleep he sensed someone enter the room. A low growl alerted him that it was her father and that he was probably not liking finding his omega daughter in bed with him.
"Oh Asher my luv let them be it's there last night tagether after all."
He recognized Leatha's voice and then heard the deep exhale of Asher. Noticing the room darken as they put out the candles he heard them moving out.
"Fine but if I find out he did anything to my baby girl and I'll kill 'im."
"I know now come on ya big bull."
Hearing the door pull to and their footsteps on the stairs he cracked his eyes open and looked down to the omega in his arms. She was sleeping peacefully and he could faintly see the flutter of her lashes as she dreamed. Placing one last kiss to her forehead he closed his eyes and joined her in sleep.
.................................
That hadn't been the first time the both of you had been forced to to separate, nor the hardest. Over the coarse of the summer the two of you had written to each other everyday. You had found yourself with a lost feeling that you had never felt before, like some part of you was missing and in a sense it was. Your parents had understood of course and so they decided it was best for you to stay busy, 'Help the time go by as well as gain some skills to help you in life.' your father had told you as he handed you a book. Before long it was the last week of August and you were ecstatic to go back to school, a first for you. There was so many things you wanted to talk to Severus about, tell him the things you had learned.
Running to the spot the two of you had already agreed to meet at you smiled as you saw his tall thin frame standing in the small clearing waiting for you. When he turned around to face you, you only just did see the corner of his lips pull up before you were jumping into his arms. Wrapping your arms around his neck you nuzzled your nose into his hair, desperate to breath in his scent that you had missed so much. Judging by how tightly eh was holding you, you would say he felt the same way.
Pulling her away from him some so he coudl look at her properly he felt that pull that had been in his chest since the second he had left her disappear. Sitting her down on her feet he stroked his knuckles over he cheek before he was pressing his lips to hers.
Sharing a long meaningful kiss he pulled away and you smiled up at him. "You got taller."
Chuckling her stared into those blue eyes that filled his dreams, "You did not." When she shoved him playfully he chuckled again and took her hand, kissing her knuckles. "Ready?"
"Ready." you confirmed and walked with him towards the castle to start your sixth year at Hogwarts.

luna for the headcanons thing pls pls pls
Yes!!! I love giving Luna headcanons, so here ya go bestie!
(Read under cut)
Luna Lovegood headcanons
First of all, definitely a trans girl, no doubt about that. She lived in a very open environment and was able to explore her gender identity at a young age. Her mother sewed her dresses to wear, long, flowing garments that Luna thought were the most beautiful things she’d ever seen. Her father taught her how to make flower crowns and crowns of leaves, and she’d wear them with her dresses.
She didn’t have to come out to her parents. Her femininity at a young age simply led to her simply stating that she was a girl, and that her name was Luna. Her parents were very accepting (and Xenophilius is trans himself because fuck you of course he is, so he was super supportive of Luna).
She named herself after the moon because her parents loved astrology and they taught her all the different planets and their moons, and all the different stars in the sky and how to spot the constellations.
The Lovegoods were definitely pagan, I mean they were all about nature and spirituality. They always marked every single holiday, staying up all night on the solstices, lighting huge bonfires, and making wreaths to wear. Pandora played the lyre, Xenophilius sang songs and Luna would act out stories and poems.
Cornish, and they speak the language as well because being bilingual is sexy.
Speaking of pagan, Pandora’s funeral would have also been pagan, obviously.
She’d have a natural burial, and Luna would recite a poem, and the rest of the family would also give eulogies, recite poetry, or thank the Goddess. Four members- including Xenophilius and Luna- would stand at each point on the compass and “invoke” each element (Air in the East, Fire in the South, Water in the West and Earth in the North) and give thanks to them. There would also be music at the wake, played by members of the family. Drums, tambourines, flutes etc. Luna played her mother’s favourite song on her lyre.
When she reached Hogwarts, I don’t think she was drawn to anyone in particular right away, I think she had better relationships with the teachers more than the students. She got on really well with Professor Sprout, and I think Hagrid really liked her too, because they’d talk about all the different magical creatures together, and Luna would tell him about all the creatures her and her father wrote about in the Quibbler.
Academically, she was very smart, and did well in most of her classes, but she didn’t particularly find a lot of them overtly interesting to her, unless she was able to put her own twist to it, which usually she wasn’t. In Potions, she wasn’t able to brew her own stuff, make up recipes, or use a variation of the recipe. Snape was much too strict with her and as a result, she didn’t do very well, which made her more upset than she would let on since she had been really good at potions at home.
She particularly shone in third year, since she was able to take classes more suited to her, like Astrology and Divination. Astrology was her favourite of course, and she’d talk about it all the time with Ginny.
However, in third year she also became particularly interested in DADA, mainly because she formed a strong friendship with Professor Lupin. Remus had been informed that Luna was trans, and since he is as well, they had things in common, and were able to talk about it with each other, Remus sort of taking Luna under his wing a little. They’d sit in his office and drink tea and Luna would give him copies of the Quibbler, which he’d happily read.
Luna was actually the first to figure out that Remus was a werewolf, but she didn’t tell anyone, not even him. She didn’t think it was her secret to share, nor did she think it changed anything. But she did find it fascinating, and read a lot of books on lycanthropy. After Remus had left, Luna told him that she knew and she asked if she could write some articles about it in the Quibbler, to raise awareness, or if he’d like to write any articles. Remus agreed to let her write something, and she wrote a three page article about werewolf inequality (but careful not to mention Remus by name). She did interview him about it, and he said that he was proud of being a werewolf, that it was actually very cool at times, but that it was simply wizarding society that had forced him to be ashamed. She wrote all this down, and it became the most bought copy of the Quibbler, as lots of students at Hogwarts wanted to read it, and they shared it with their friends and parents. So despite Remus not being able to come back to Hogwarts as a teacher, he did receive tons of letters in support of him from parents and students who had read the article and put two and two together.
Friends with Ginny by third year! Luna actually took a while to warm up to Ginny, thinking she was this loud, athletic, snobbish type, but then Luna got to know her and realised that she wasn’t that at all. Ginny was loud, but in a contagious laughter sort of way, and she could be very quiet and calm when she wanted to. She was athletic, but chatted animatedly about Quidditch teams, and Luna couldn’t help but listen. And she wasn’t snobbish, quite the opposite. She was the only person who listened to Luna, and discussed her ideas rather than swat them away impatiently. Luna made Ginny flower crowns, and Ginny stayed up with her all night during solstices. They became very close.
Ginny was the first student at Hogwarts that Luna told about being trans, and Ginny came out to her as being bisexual. And they were very supportive of each other, as well as being great at keeping each other’s secrets. They trusted each other with their lives, and would always stand up for the other. If Luna was getting picked on, Ginny would go feral and start fights. Although she eventually stopped, since it made Luna more upset. So she stuck to just being there for Luna (and maybe slipping a potion into bullies’ morning pumpkin juice that made them cluck like a chicken. But Luna didn’t need to know about that...)
That being said, Luna could get angry too of course. When she heard an older girl make fun of Ginny behind Ginny’s back, Luna wordlessly went up to her turned the girl’s hair blue with a wave of her wand. Ginny laughed her head off when she found out.
It was through Luna’s bond with Ginny, that she realised that she wasn’t interested in either the romantic or sexual side of relationships. At first she assumed that it was because Ginny was a girl, and she may not be attracted to girls, but it got her thinking about boys too, about everyone. And she just didn’t want that sort of relationship with anyone. She loved her platonic relationship with Ginny, and that’s how she wanted all of her relationships to be like.
I feel like she also had a close bond with Neville, and they gave each other plants as birthday gifts.
Projecting a little bit here, but Luna with Maladaptive Daydreaming Disorder, spending hours by herself making up fantasies and constructing worlds in her head, making up new characters, and getting so invested in them that she regularly saw herself as her characters. I feel like this started because of the trauma from losing her mother. She didn’t tell anyone about it, or at least nothing in detail, but she tried to explain it a bit to Ginny, who knew to leave her alone when Luna would sit by herself.
MaD also made Luna a little more detached from her gender identity, especially if she was acting as one of her characters (again I’m projecting here) who were either male or genderless. She still identified as female, but in a much more looser, fluid way, and even experimented with she/they pronouns, which she eventually decided she liked. (If this were set in the modern world, I can also imagine her using neopronouns such as xe/xer or fae/faeself, though in the canon world, she may have also tried out it/its).
Doesn’t know much about the muggle world, but Hermione gave them a copy of Alice In Wonderland which they loved. And if I were to headcanon Luna liking a muggle band/artist they’d probably like anything psychedelic or nature-like, maybe the early stuff of Pink Floyd (yes, Dev, I’m thinking about Atom Heart Mother).
Went travelling after Hogwarts, where she met Rolf Scamander, and they hit it off immediately. Very similar to each other, and soon became close friends. I also headcanon Rolf as aro/ace so their relationship basically became like Luna’s and Ginny’s.
Their house was filled with all sorts of plants and animals. Rooms were lined with trees filled with Bowtruckles, and owls flitted in and out of windows, cats slinking about the place, so many frogs. My god, their house was wonderful.
Adopted Lorcan and Lysander because ffs not everyone has to have a nuclear family jkr 🙄. And parents also don’t have to be romantically or sexually involved with each other either; Luna and Rolf had a good relationship, both wanted to be parents, so they raised the twin boys together. And Lorcan and Lysander had a fantastic childhood, can you imAGINE?!
Godmother of Lily Luna, obviously. And Harry and Ginny’s kids loved going round Luna’s place, so more often than not, the house was filled with not only the entire natural world, but also a bunch of children running about the place.
Oh also, Luna has nymph ancestors. They just do, okay?

An Unlikely Befriending
Summary: Jon gets kidnapped. Jon gets bored. And Jon makes very unlikely friends because of it. Aka: Pen and Paper saves the day (world) and Jon finally gets to have a band. A/N: This is pure fluff, no warnings apply I think. ___
The worst thing about being kidnapped by a crazy mannequin murder clown monstrousity and sitting in a cold, room with creepy wax works, tied to a chair was not the ever present terror. True the fear of Nikola finally deeming his skin good enough and skinning him alive was quite potent, but it wasn't as bad as boredom.
Jon had never taken well to waiting. His mind needed to be occupied 24/7, needed something to latch onto, to obsess about. It's why he became a researcher in the first place. Having most of his freedom taken from him made occupying himself very hard.
At least they still let him eat and drink here and there. Nikola always visited personally, her overly cheery voice bubbling forth as she chattered away while slathering him with lotion or shoving bits of take out food in his mouth. His diet those last two weeks had been very varied and healthy and he had never drank so much water before.
He still probably looked a mess, what with no access to a shower and barely being able to sleep at all. And the constant terror. Oh yeah and the boredom.
Oh the boredom.
Jon was currently sitting in his chair as he was wont to do. Thankfully not nailed down despite all the nagging from Sarah Baldwin. The coffin was singing or moaning with a slight melody behind it, depending on who you asked. And somehow Jon found himself humming along, trying to find a good melody to go with the haunting tune. It wasn't like he had anything better to do and if he didn't start doing something creative his mind would start eating itself soon.
So he hummed, experimenting with the notes, twisting them into something that was reminiscent of circus music and airships. And then he kept humming the melody over and over, forming words in his mind to go with the tune. Once the spark was lit a fire started to burn, the story branching out and out into a twirling mass of chaos and fire.
He had gotten lost in his imagination, hadn't noticed how loud he had become, hadn't heard Nikola approach. Jon screeched when she leant down over him and grinned at him upside down, nose nearly touching his.
Nikola had the gall to laugh at him, no breath fanning over his face as she did so.
"Awww Archivist! I didn't know you had such a nice voice!"
"Hrmph."
"Yes your singing was also quite good!" She straightened herself, back cracking in several places. Striding around his chair she towered over him, tattered, bloody ringmaster uniform filling his field of vision.
"I'm glad you feel comfortable enough to sing, of course! And the broken repeat is lovely."
"Hm."
"Anyway water time!"
With gleeful cackling she ripped the tape from his mouth, amused enough to not immediately shove the bottle between his teeth.
"There are words to it, too." Jon rushed to say, not exactly sure why. What was he offering her here? A solo performance?
"Oh?" she at least didn't tape his mouth shut again. For now.
After waiting several beats where both stared at each other and nothing else happened Jon dared to speak up again.
"I ah... well I wrote it myself? Not wrote, of course. My hands are tied at the moment-" He was rambling. Nikola had given him the freedom of speech and he was off like a shot, telling her everything about what he had been thinking about before she had interrupted his impromptu jamming session, terror completely terminating his brain to mouth filter.
Nikola, for her part, took it all in stride. She even settled on the floor in front of him, blinking every now and then to indicate that she was still present.
"It's such a shame." she finally spoke, holding the water bottle to his mouth, letting him drink of his own volution for once. "You would have made a perfect piece for the choir. Hm maybe what will be left of you will do."
"I could sing for you now." Jon offered as soon as his mouth was free again.
Nikola startled at the offer and Jon just shrugged as much as he was able to. He'd rather sing to a creepy murder doll than spend one minute longer alone and bored out of his mind. And if he could delay the Unknowing (and the violent removal of his skin) by keeping Nikola entertained than even better.
That sounded like he almost had a plan. Which was untrue. He only had a very strong desire for entertainment.
"No sneaky questions." Nikola warned.
"Promise. I can't guarantee good quality rhymes, though. I'm still workshopping."
Singing out loud what had been in his head was always an awkward affair. He had wanted to start a band with Georgie in uni. But it was exactly because of this that he had never bothered.
"That was fun!" Nikola screamed after he was finished nontheless. Clapping her hands in delight, which created a horrible cracking noise.
"I'm glad? I also DM."
She tilted her head at him. "What's that?"
Jon explained the concept of pen and paper games to her while she rubbed lotion into his skin and had her hooked immediately.
Later that day (or maybe the next day, really Jon had no concept of time anymore) Jon was for the first time allowed out of his chair, carefully rubbing circulation back into his hands. Nikola had only briefly left him alone after watering and lotioning him. They had hashed out what kind of world and system they wanted to use (a horror setting, of course) and then Nikola was off and dragging Breekon and Hope back into the room so they had enough people to play.
Either Breekon or Hope sat down behind Jon, large hands lightly clasping his arms, squeezing every once in a while to remind him that should he try and escape he would only end up in pain.
Jon shifted awkwardly in the grip, unused to gentleness even if it was supposed to be threatening.
"Alright. First, character creation. Who do you guys want to play?"
It became a daily thing. The three beings in his group quickly became addicted to his story telling and to the characters they were allowed to play. Nikola tore through characters, trying on different personalities like pieces of clothing. She had a beautiful eery singing voice, Jon was surprised to find out when she had decided to play a member of a steampunk band.
Breekon and Hope were less manic, too attached to their twins to play anyone else. They changed voices and accents every session, though. Jon deigned to ignore their shenanigans, scared to make them angry. He hadn't had this much fun in ages, he didn't want to loose that.
The two delivery men took turns holding him down while they played, Hope holding onto his arms and Breekon using him like a child would a Teddy bear.
Eventually the three lingered after their sessions had ended, the ropes that tied him to his chair less tight. Jon tried to keep the conversations casual, to not ask all the questions that burned at the tip of his tongue. He found that he didn't need to. Tongue loose from goofing around Nikola was often chatty, Breekon and Hope throwing in their two cents every once in a while.
Eventually the topic about Tims younger brother came up.
"Danny Stoker? Grimauldi skinned him? Hm..." Nikolas head nearly dislodged as she stared at the ceiling in thought. "Noooo." She giggled. "We didn't skin anyone that night, silly! We were scoping out locations for the dance! Danny's little group stumbled into us and got a little confused~"
"But Tim saw Grimauldi rip Dannys skin off of a puppet."
Nikola shrugged. "An illusion. We're good at making you people see things that aren't really there. Yet."
"So Danny is alive?"
"I believe so!~ If he didn't die in a ditch somewhere."
Jon was very careful to keep his voice as soft as possible with the next question. "Could you find him again and bring him to the Institute? To Tim and... I don't know... maybe that's a stupid idea given that he can't be sure it's really him..."
"If I track him down do I get inspiration for my character next session?"
"That's cheating." Breekon complained under his breath behind Jon.
"I... yes?"
Nikola grinned. "Wonderful! I see what I can do!"
Days went by like that, Nikola or Breekon or Hope updating him on Dannys search, which had turned out to be harder than they had thought. Well at least Jon was keeping them busy.
They were in the middle of racing a burning train into the central bank of London when a door creaked behind Jon, bathing the room in technicolour and spiral shapes.
"That is not what I thought I'd find here." A voice that wavered between confused and gleeful mused.
Jon twisted in the grip Breekon had on him. "Hello Michael."
"Hello Archivist. You've found yourself in an interesting situation." The grin Michael shot him was a knife glinting in the light before striking.
"Yes. Why are you here?"
Nikola had let him practice after Jon had explained his lack of training, much more lax with her hostage now that he fed her fascinating stories of blood and gore. So there was no trace of compulsion in his voice when he asked the question.
Michael answered truthfully anyway. "I came to kill you of course!"
"I have dips on that!" Nikola said, voice pleasant and grin feral.
"I'm sorry about that. Would you like to join the game instead?"
Michael stared at him as though he had grown mad. Impressed, curious and lightly terrified. Then it laughed that horrible, headache inducing laugh.
"There's a lot of lies and delusion." Jon coaxed, heart beating out of his chest with nerves.
"He's a good storyteller." Hope added, Nikola and Breekon nodding along.
"Hm alright. I guess I can play for a bit."
It didn't stay just for a bit. Michael stayed through the finale of the story and then demanded to start another, their little ragtag group of definitely not heroes causing more chaos than any other player group Jon had ever DMed before. And that was saying something. Hours upon hours passed, Michael disappearing and reappearing to get Jon coffee and tea to keep his voice from giving out.
In the middle of it all Michael began twitching and twisting, glitching in and out of sight before slumping to the ground with a groan, form for once near comprehensible. Another door opened and out walked Helen looking down at the Distortion in disappointment.
"Oh that didn't destroy you. Shame."
"Helen?"
"Hello Jon! I was coming to rescue you given that Michael got a little distracted. Do you want to come to the archives with me?"
Honestly Jon should have been shocked, probably angry. He was definitely sad. And yet the most he felt was just an overwhelming sense of whelp.
Jon vaguely gestured towards Nikola, as much as Breekons hold allowed him to. "Ask her."
"We're not done yet."
"Later then?"
Nikola considered Jon for a long moment, both staring unblinking at each other. "Give us an hour."
To Jons great surprise Helen just nodded and delicately sat on the chair Jon usually frequented in his "freetime" all prim and proper except for the long sharp fingers curling at the edges like corkscrews.
"Now where were we?"
Michael groaned from the floor for once not smiling. Jon felt a twinge of sympathy for him.
"Are you alright?"
"Been better. Been worse. Let's burn this village down!"
There was no end to the tale they had been playing, not with just one session of playtime. Jon felt a bit bad about that, especially because he had left it at a cliffhanger. No one seemed to be angry at him for it, though. Michael had recovered fast and was again his usual ominous cheery, albeit lightly aggressive self. He poked and prodded at Helen like a curious cat while Nikola massaged lotion into Jons skin for the last time and handed him several expensive looking bottles, rattling down a step by step skin care routine he was to follow to the t or else she would break into his house and do it herself.
Hope patted him on the head. "See you around, Archivist."
"You're really letting me go? Just like that?" Jon still couldn't believe it.
Nikola shrugged. "I found another option. And I'd like to keep doing this after the Unknowing."
"Will that be even possible?"
The grin he got from was not at all reassuring. "I don't know~"
Well that was probably the best he would get from her. Jon gave a hesitant tiny wave and, flanked by both Michael and Helen stepped through their door.
Back at the archive no one had even questioned his disappearance. A fact that made Michael and Helen laugh, even though they both refused to leave as Tim, Melanie and Basira questioned him about his whereabouts.
Martin was the only one who took Jons forced vacation in stride. Maybe he even was a little too happy about a group of mannequins harassing him to take better care of himself.
"You're not compromised now, are you?" Basira asked when Jon had settled back into his office after a long shower.
"No? Because I still don't want the world to end?"
"Good."
Somehow Jon knew that she would still keep an eye on him from now on.
~~~
When the day came to blow up the ritual site Jon hadn't slept a wink in three nights and was overcome by guilt. Despite how aweful his initial time at the circus had been and despite him knowing what horrible things Nikola and her kin did in their freetime, Jon still felt bad about probably killing her.
He tried to rationalize his feelings away, connecting his rising anxiety with the fact that Danny still hadn't been found. It was a flimsy denial.
Tim stayed by his side the whole time, resolute in his burning desire for vengeance. Jon was scared that he would loose him to this, too. Had confessed as much to Michael and Helen, who had taken to keeping at least one door manifested somewhere in the tunnels at all times. The two had started to get along well after some initial disagreement. The Spiral, split as it was between the two of them, was weaker in its influence now, leaving more of Michael Shelley and Helen Richardson to make decisions.
They weren't here now. Daisy, Basira and Tim were, setting up explosives and arguing about rescuing people that were already long dead.
And then Nikola appeared and the dance started and nothing made sense anymore.
Jon woke up six months later, Georgie calling him a monster and Basira giving him a statement to "eat" catching him up on everything he had missed. Tim had miraculously survived, having been dragged through a door by either Helen or Michael. Daisy and Basira had encountered Breekon and Hope, who had argued about what they should do with "Jons feral friends" and in the end had led them savely out of the building before it could go boom, muttering about possible inspiration points.
The only one who hadn't been saved was Jon. He tried not to feel too hurt about that.
Coming back to work was as anti climatic as it had been after the kidnapping. The only one who seemed happy to see him was Martin. He had apologized profusely for the hug and promptly stopped doing so when Jon dashed forward and back into Martins warm embrace, finally breaking down.
He had been too caught up in his crying to make a note of the little kiss Martin pressed into his hair.
They all were a little lost after averting the apocalypse, normal everyday life eluding them. Elias might have been out of the picture for the moment, but Peter Lukas had taken over and fighting against the isolation was taking its toll on everyone.
They were all huddled in the breakroom, faces grim and stewing in silence so as to not break into an arguement when they got their delivery.
Breekon and Hope stepped into the small space with their usual nonchalance dragging a scared young man between them, who had a lot of resemblance to Tim.
"Delivery for Jonathan Sims. Nikola says hi."
Tim was the first one up. "No... No no nononononono that can't be. He's dead. Jon. Jon tell me is that really him?!"
Jon looked at the scared man, who had his gaze locked on Tim, recognition slowly dawning on his face. He Looked and he Knew.
"Yes. No one was killed the night Danny disappeared. His group encountered Nikola and her troupe during a rehearsal, got confused and then lost. And was lost ever since. Nikola told me of this. She promised to find him for me, for you."
That was all Tim needed to rush forward, catching his brother in his arms and hugging him close. "Danny!"
Danny clung back just as tightly, awareness barely back. Still obviously shaken and confused.
Jon smiled at the two delivery men. "Thank you. Will he... will he be alright."
Hope shrugged. "Dunno. Nikola said to make him remember bit by bit. Been not Danny for a long time. Might need to get used to it again."
"We'll take it slow." Tim promised, silent tears streaming down his face.
"Good luck. Hey Archivist, do we get inspiration, too?"
Jon laughed, incredulous. The others in the room watched the exchange with varying degress of exasperation and outrage.
"You know what? Yes. Yes you have. And I'll give you all advantage on your rolls next session. Only that one session, though! Same for Nikola. How is she, by the way?"
Breekon made a so-so sign. "Restless. We've waited over six months to find out what happens after  that cliffhanger you gave us."
"Right." He still couldn't believe it. "Tonight 8 o'clock, my flat?"
Twin grins, the most excited he had ever seen them. "See you then, Archivist."
Tim was still gently hushing his brother, rocking back and forth on his feet to try and calm him down a little. And he still had tears streaming down his face, looking like an absolute wreck. But he still managed to join the unimpressed stares that were thrown his way by everyone but Martin, who at this point had just started to roll with the punches.
"You really befriended the clown club and made them rescue literally all of us?" Basira asked in a deadpan voice.
"I kind of feel cheap now." Daisy muttered. "As though those clowns let us win."
"Look, what can I say? Pen and Paper games are fun. I can't blame them. And Nikola did want to start a band."
"Oh my god." Melanie groaned, her head thunking onto the table. "I can't believe it."
"A band?" Basira asked, suddenly much more alert. They really had gotten quite desensitized to the whole monster thing, hadn't they? "What, you can sing?"
"As a matter of fact, yes. But really. Shouldn't we... I mean shouldn't we focus on Danny? There's a cot-"
"I know." Tim interrupted. "We all know there's a cot. I'll take him home, you keep talking about your weird band plans. Monster boss? We talk later, but... thank you."
Silence reigned long enough to follow Tim out of the Institute before Martin piped up, cheeks reddening before he had even opened his mouth. "Could we... Could we have a taste?"
"A taste? Of what? My voice?"
"Hold up, if Sims is going to sing I'll have to record it." Melanie tapped on her phone and held it into the room as one would do a microphone. "Alright go."
Jon sighed, what he didn't do to keep up the group morale.
"Aww shit." Was Basiras conclusion when he was done. "What kind of music were you thinking of playing?"
"Steampunk."
"Count me in."
~~~
Today had been weird, Jon thought, mind reeling from the whiplash of... kindness? That had happened after the delivery of one Danny Stoker. Granted the last month, no
year
had been weird. But this had topped it all. At least it had been a nice weird.
Jon had nearly forgotten about his appointment with a certain group of Strangers when he got back to his flat, overworked, hungry and still processing. So he should be forgiven for the scream he let out when he saw three large figures huddling on his too small couch.
"You haven't been taking care of your skin at all!"
There was no time to duck away from the cold, hard hands that fluttered all over his body. Nikola squished his cheeks like a proper grandmother, clearly unhappy about their elasticity.
"I was in a coma for six months."
"And awake for a few weeks now." A cheerful male voice said from behind him, bringing the smell of pizza with it.
"We were there he didn't take care of himself at all!" Helen added, putting down several cans of soda and what looked to be instant coffee.
"You're horrible!" Nikola wailed, manhandling him until he was squished between Breekon and Hope. "All my beautiful work! Ruined!"
"Uh... sorry?"
"You can make it up to us with weekly sessions." Michael suggested with a grin.
"Both on Saturday and Sunday!" Helen added.
"I actually planned for Sunday to be band day." Jon lied. "Basira wants to join, by the way."
They were all settled around the small coffee table now, food and drink on the floor so they had enough place to roll their dice.
"Wonderful! What did you think we'd name it?"
Jon tilted his head given the illusion of thinking it over even though he had known what to name his band since highschool.
"The Mechanisms."

Splitting You in Two
This is part of my Four Years AU

Masterpost
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Sharing a curse had its ups and downs.
On the upside, the Owl Beast was no more. And less elixir was needed to combat it now.
On the downside, the Owl Beast was never completely gone. Half-a-beast is what Eda called them, though Luz claimed they looked more like harpies.
Instead of turning into Beasts, Eda and Lilith were plagued with half-transformations, leaving their minds half-conscious.
They could switch, it seemed, between their states of mind. Sometimes they were more sentient, other times they were more beastly. Due to the curse altering their state, it was imperative that they remained calm.
If calm enough, the curse would even eventually settle down on it’s own. Of course, they still took an elixir after the fact, just in case.
Most of this was determined after Eda’s first two transformations with the shared curse. They had gone surprisingly well, since both Luz and King were used to this by now. Aside from a minor amount of damage to the edge of the marketplace, they got off pretty clean.
Eyes, however, had begun to drift towards Lilith.
A first transformation was never meant to go well.
,
Lilith was in the backyard with Amity, showing her how to make illusions like plants or objects seem natural. Luz was sitting crossed-legged in the grass and leaning against the house, watching Amity with rapt interest.
“Keeping an illusion still is simple enough,” Lilith said, almost drawing a spell circle in the air on impulse. “But making it look natural in it’s environments is easier said than done.”
“Wouldn’t that help confuse people if it looked unnatural?” Luz called over.
“Yes, but that’s not the point.” Lilith said calmly, sparing the human a mildly annoyed glance. “Illusions are not only for ambushes and pranks, contrary to what the twins would have you believe.”
Amity snickered, and Lilith’s mouth curved slightly upwards.
“Create an illusion of something simple,” Lilith instructed. “Like a flower or leaf.”
Amity drew a circle in the air and created a black feather, no longer than a finger. She held it in the palm of her head, showing it to Lilith.
“Oooh,” Luz grinned, despite this being rather easy magic.
Lilith raised a brow as Amity ducked her head shyly and muttered under her breath.
“Now,” The witch continued on. “Movement is a very delicate thing.” She said. “Making something life-like is a difficult task, which is why we’re focusing on smaller objects like these. It’s imperative to know the perceived weight of your object and to know what your surroundings feel and look like.”
She glanced to Luz, and deciding to make the most of the situation, gestured for her to stand up.
Luz was surprised but obediently stood, fiddling her hands together.
“Do you have a wind glyph on you?” Lilith questioned.
“Uh,” Luz patted herself down before remembering that was probably a bad idea and felt around much more cautiously.
She eventually pulled out a wind glyph from her cloaks inside pockets, showing it off proudly.
“Good, I want you to get it ready.” Lilith nodded and turned back to Amity.
“When the wind from Luz’s glyph reaches the feather, I want you to move it how you think a real feather would move.” She said. “Be sure to judge the force of the wind and to remember how the feather is shaped.”
“Got it,” Amity nodded, holding the feather higher and focusing on it.
“Luz?” Lilith glanced at the human. “Would you do the honors?”
Luz nodded and held up her glyph, aiming it right towards Amity’s outstretched hand. She activated the glyph and let it go, watching as it disintegrated into the wind and flew towards the green-haired witch.
Once the wind breezed by, the feather rose into the air. Amity was laser-focused on the illusion, making it tilt and turn as it fluttered off, resembling a kayak in the air.
She continued to focus on it until it lay peacefully on the grass, a few meters away from them.
“Not bad,” Lilith praised with a nod. “Perhaps I should’ve started with something harder for you.” She lightly teased.
Amity lit up, her shoulders straightening. Until she forgot to focus on the feather and it poofed out of existence.
“However, with that in mind, the feather was a bit too buoyant.” Lilith continued, holding her hands together. “It looked more like a boat. Feathers usually flip and flutter in the air. Granted, Luz’s wind was a bit too light to show most natural movements.”
“Oh, do you want me to make it stronger next time?” Luz asked, looking at Amity instead of Lilith.
“I would prefer it,” Lilith said, her voice slightly strained.
“Just tell me yes or no, Lilith.” Luz muttered, digging in her pockets again.
Lilith frowned and narrowed her eyes at the human for a moment before decidedly ignoring it. Amity shuffled her feet and cleared her throat awkwardly. She opened her mouth to say something before slowly shutting it again, her eyes drawn to Lilith’s hands.
“Now, while Luz is searching for her glyph, I want you to try something a little heavier.” Lilith continued, turning back to her apprentice. “Perhaps a pencil rolling on the ground, or a sweater.” She said, raising a hand and gesturing with it.
“Of course, that depends on how strong the wind is, so let’s just try with something like a large leaf or…” Lilith paused.
The witch had suddenly gone still, staring at her mentor, face whiter than a sheet and pupils slitted so thin they were like a pen line.
“Amity?” Lilith said, brow creasing in worry.
She followed the witch’s gaze, which wasn’t necessarily on her, but rather her hand.
Her left hand, which she had been gesturing with, was suddenly gnarled and inflamed. Her nails are grown to claws and her skin had hardened into a scale-like texture.
“Luz!” Amity cried, stepping back. “Luz, she’s--it’s the--”
Luz jerked her head up, whirling back to the two. She saw Lilith staring in shock at her hand and in a flash, leapt to her feet.
“Amity, get back!” Luz warned, pulling out a fire glyph she had found in her search for a wind glyph.
Lilith hadn’t moved, transfixed at her hand. More scales popped up and her hand grew in size, feathers sprouting at her wrist and growing along her arm. She raised her other hand and noticed it was beginning to do the same.
She was thinking so much and nothing at all, a blend she despised but couldn’t stop.
,
“Lilith!”
She jerked her head up. Amity had stepped back, closer to Luz, but not close enough. Her eyes were wide and terrified, her ears pressed back.
Lilith had seen this position many times before, and that remembrance sent a spike of pain through her chest.
“Amity,” Lilith breathed, her voice raspy as feathers suddenly sprung up around her arms. “I’m-I’m okay,” She said quickly, reaching out before she sharply pulled back, remembering what her hand looked like.
“We need to go get Eda,” Luz said, grabbing Amity’s shoulder and pulling her gaze away. “Lilith, stay right where you are!”
“You know as well as I that once I am cursed I will have no say in the--”
Lilith’s retort was cut off as there was a loud rip and she snarled, her knees buckling beneath her.
A single wing erupted from her back, soaked and mangled with black feathers that stretched far, far above her head.
Amity jerked back, covering her mouth with her hand as she gasped. Luz turned to her, taking in her horrified look. A part of her would wonder if that’s how she looked during Eda’s transformations.
“We gotta go,” She said, turning Amity away from the sight. “Come on.”
Lilith’s transformation was increasing tenfold, and Luz could tell by her screams of anguish and the sound of flesh and bone ripping and remending behind her.
Luz grabbed Amity’s wrist and ran to the back door, throwing it open. She looked back for just a moment to usher Amity inside, and in those moments she swore she’d never been so scared for a woman like Lilith.
A second wing had grown from her back, were wet and limp. They hung at her sides like shades, and were shaped just like a ravens. She could see a similar jet-black tail poking out of her dress, also wet and tangled. Her hands were enlarged and scaled, with nails like claws. Her feet were worse, and had truly become massive talons. She was sure her legs were no different.
Feathers could be seen coming out of her sleeves and around her neck, sticking up at odd angles. Her ears had elongated, not to the extent of the owl beast, but long enough, with tufts of fur in them.
When Lilith looked up towards them, her eyes were jet black, and her pupils were the color of her eyes.
Luz grabbed Amity’s arm, about to yank the two of them inside the Owl House.
The second Luz touched Amity, and Luz swore it was the millisecond, Lilith’s lips curled back into a growl, exposing dagger-like fangs far too big for her mouth.
Faster than Luz thought possible for her, Lilith lunged towards them, her wings raised over her head and talons extended.
,
Luz yelped and shoved Amity through the door before grabbing and slamming it shut, wincing as she heard, and felt, Lilith ram her body against the wooden door, hissing and snarling as she clawed at it.
“E-Eda was...wasn’t like this...” Amity choked, holding her hands close and stepping away from the door, shaking.
“She was, you just weren’t here.” Luz shook her head, locking the back door and slipping through the kitchen. “The curse switches between a feral or mostly-normal state. Lilith must be too freaked out right now.”
Amity showed no sign of having heard her, only staring in silence at the closed back door.
Luz was about to try and comfort Amity when she paused. She waited and listened.
Not a sound.
Lilith had stopped attacking the door.
The realization chilled Luz to the bone. She took a step back and withdrew an ice glyph, nervously looking around.
“Amity, come h--”
The large kitchen window suddenly smashed to bits, sending glass and random kitchen items falling off the counter and scattering on the floor. Luz leapt forward and grabbed Amity, tugging the both of them down as she covered their heads with her cloak.
Lilith snarled and scrambled up, glass digging into her shoulders and still-wet wings. She dug her claws into the counter and pulled herself up, hissing as her eyes darted about the room.
Luz sprung up and threw her ice glyph, leading it to shoot out towards the cursed witch.
Lilith ducked and the spike went out the broken window. Lilith howled and grabbed the spike, climbing onto it with a shriek and running at the girls.
Luz rolled to the side and so did Amity. Luz stumbled to her feet and searched for another glyph, looking up just in time to see a claw swiping at her.
She jerked back, but Lilith’s claws grazed her face, and Luz quickly felt blood well up around her left eye and blurr her vision.
Lilith pulled back for a moment as Luz stumbled into the kitchen island and slumped to the ground, her breathing rapid as she raised a hand to her bloody eye.
The witch opened her mouth in a roar before a blast of magenta fire struck one of her wings.
She shrieked and flailed about, the dampness of her wings stopping it from catching ablaze as she spun around.
Amity was standing with fire hovering over her hand. She looked furious for a brief moment before terror quickly came back at the realization Lilith was now focused on her.
She attempted to throw another ball of fire at her as she stumbled back. Lilith snarled and lunged for her, her talons slamming into Amity’s shoulders and chest as the girl hit the wall and slumped to the ground, smaller than a mouse in the face of the beast.
Lilith’s wings arched over her head and her maw opened wide, flashing fangs that could split bones in half without a second thought. Amity winced and could only squeeze her eyes shut, turning her head away as Lilith’s claws dug into her flesh, surely creating scars.
Lilith lowered her head till it was inches away from Amity, unaware of the frantic footsteps and slamming of doors as someone ran down the stairs towards the kitchen, where Luz was frantically trying to grab at a plant glyph that had fallen out of her pocket.
She sniffed the girls hair, pausing and making a face that could almost be described as a frown. She clicked and rumbled, her jaw slowly shutting as Amity peeked open an eye.
Lilith tilted her head, eyes narrowed.
“Amity?” She said, her voice husky and growly, but clearly confused, and if Amity didn’t know any better...scared.
“Get off her!”
There was a flash of green, and a massive vine sprung out and wrapped around Lilith’s throat, tearing her off of Amity and sending her crashing to the floor.
Instead of Luz holding the other end of the vine, Amity whirred around to instead see Eda standing in the doorway, gripping the vine for dear life as Lilith thrashed and kicked about on the floor, with King standing behind her and clutching a golden bottle.
Lilith got right back to her feet, hissing and pulling against the vine with a roar. Eda yanked her sister closer, getting ready to take a bottle of elixir from King, who was holding it fearfully.
Luz wiped at the blood over her eye and rushed to Amity’s side. The girl was staring off into nothing, seeming to be in a state of shock.
“Amity? Amity!” Luz waved her hands in front of Amity’s face and shook her shoulder frantically.
Amity perked up then, staring at Luz in surprise, like she had forgotten where she was. Her gaze instantly went to the blood trickling into the human’s eye.
“Luz, you--”
Amity reached for Luz, but they were both startled by a blood-curdling shriek, and both turned back to the fight going on just a few meters away.
Lilith was beating her wings, though they still couldn’t lift her off the ground. She tugged and pulled at the restraint, snapping her jaws. Eda barely dodged as she grabbed the elixir from King, hissing right back at the half-a-beast.
Faint scales were popping up on Eda’s hands, plus feathers on her arms. Luz figured that if there was a reason to worry of Eda transforming at this moment, Eda would’ve told them.
Granted, this entire situation was probably a cause for a concern or two.
Lilith stepped back, her talons clacking against the tile and making a fragile one crack. Luz grabbed Amity and hoisted her to her feet, pulling the two of them back. She held Amity close to her protectively, never taking her non-bloody eye off the witch.
Lilith opened her mouth in another angry shriek, her wings raised high above her head and brushing the ceiling. Eda took her chance and sharply tugged Lilith forward, shoving the open bottle of elixir into Lilith’s mouth.
About half the bottle made its way into her throat before she spat it out, growling and nearly snapping off Eda’s ears for her troubles.
In moments, however, she began to calm.
Lilith’s wings shrunk, and the gnarly scales and size of her hands and feet began to grow fainter and fainter. Her legs gave out from under her, and Lilith tumbled to the floor in a heap.
Her wings were still visible, just far smaller now, and many of her feathers and glimpses of scales could be seen. But when she opened her eyes with a gasp, only one of her eyes were an inky black, the turquoise one completely normal.
A wave of relief swept through the room, and Eda finally relaxed, looking almost ready to fall herself. Luz slowly released Amity, letting the girl stand beside her. She held her sleeve to her eye again and glanced at the girl, who had her hands wringing together close to her chest, looking more anxious than the day before a test.
“Edalyn?” Lilith mumbled, her voice hoarse as she coughed.
She looked down at the bottle of elixir and recoiled, seeing her reflection in the glass. She lifted a hand to her face, feeling around her jet black eye.
King waddled over, brushing by Eda as he took the elixir and held it up to Lilith, out of everyone, giving her a sympathetic look.
Lilith swallowed and mumbled a thanks before drinking the rest of the elixir, shuttering and cringing as the rest of her transformation vanished back into her body.
“You alright?” Eda asked gruffly.
“I...I believe so.” Lilith nodded, still holding the elixir as she stared at the ground. “Is...is this...normal?”
“Wish it wasn’t,” Eda sighed, shaking her head, looking so much older than she already was. “You should’ve seen me when I had the whole curse on my back.”
Lilith’s flinch didn’t go unnoticed, but nobody mentioned it.
Eda’s gaze went to the girls then, and she sprung up the second she saw the blood Luz was trying to hide. She rushed around Lilith, taking Luz’s hand and pulling it away from her eye.
“Is it bad?” Luz asked quietly, looking up at Eda with wide eyes as she wiped away as much blood she could.
“...no,” Eda breathed a sigh of relief. “It’s a bit deep, but you’ll be fine. It just got above your eye, you’ll see.”
Lilith looked back around, shame and horror evident as King stood by the witch, shuffling his feet. She caught sight of Amity’s trembling state and began to sit up, but Eda beat her to it.
“Kid, hey,” Eda said softly, and Amity finally looked up at her. “Is anything broken?”
Amity swallowed and shook her head, looking like a small child after they’d gotten in trouble. She crossed her arms, like she was trying to hide the claw marks dug into her body and through her shirt.
Eda sighed and pulled her arms away right after, wincing at the sight.
“It doesn’t hurt that much,” Amity mumbled, avoiding her gaze.
“Amity,” Lilith breathed, shakily getting to her feet, using a nearby table to help herself up. “Amity, great Titan are you--” “She’ll live, Lilith.” Eda growled, not even sparing a look back.
Lilith slowly turned away, her eyes downcast as she stared at the ground, more specifically, at where her talon had cracked the tile.
“C’mon, let’s see if we can call that healer friend of yours. I’d rather try to avoid risking a hospital visit.” Eda sighed, gently placing an arm on Amity’s back.
Amity nodded numbly, letting Eda guide her past Lilith, who still refused to look up, and out of the kitchen.
Eda glanced at Lilith, and for a brief moment, her anger subsided, and it was replaced with dull sorrow.
She sighed and continued on without a word.
,
King still stood where he was as Eda sat Amity on the couch, grabbing the few healing glyphs she had as Luz called Viney on Amity’s scroll. They fell into a quiet rhythm, trying to ease Amity’s pain before the shock wore off. Luz didn’t even start to worry about her own until Eda instructed her to do so.
King glanced towards Lilith, who was now slumped in a seat at the kitchen table. He fidgeted his claws for a moment before climbing onto one of the chairs and then onto the table, hesitantly walking over until he flopped down by Lilith’s head, which was buried in her arms.
“It’s not so bad,” King said, and Lilith peeked an eye out from behind her hair. “I mean, Eda used to eat any random animal she found in the woods. I’m pretty sure she actually made a small species of bird go extinct in this area.”
Lilith didn’t seem to lighten at all. She moved her arms to look at one of her hands, and King sucked in a breath.
Her fingers were still coated in blood, most of which had to be Amity’s.
“Do you…” King twitched his tail nervously. “Want a hand towel?”
Lilith nodded, never taking her eyes off her hand.
King walked across the table and leapt onto the kitchen island and then to the counter. He picked up a towel that had fallen into the sink and dampened it underneath the faucet.
He carefully stepped around the broken glass, ignoring the smashed window, and jumped back over to the table, holding out the towel.
Lilith looked up then. She stared blankly at the towel for a few moments before taking it from King and wiping it over her hands.
King sat in front of her, lightly tapping his claws on the table, unsure of what to do. He shyly lay a paw on Lilith’s arm, wrapping his tail around himself.
Lilith paused and glanced at King, offering him a small forced smile before it fell again.
“I messed up again, didn’t I?”
King looked back through the kitchen door. Luz was sitting on the floor by Amity, holding paper towels to her eye as she talked to her on occasion before going back to talking on her scroll, presumably to Viney. Eda was still focused on healing the worst of Amity’s marks, her eyes glazed and not at all there.
“I mean, Eda did stuff like this before. I don’t think we can blame you for this one.” He said simply.
Lilith deflated, letting the towel fall back to the table as she hunched her shoulders.
“But, uh, I mean, the curse is different now.” King said quickly. “Once you get the hang of it, then you’ll be perfectly fine. Remember Eda’s last transformation? She was barely any different.”
“That’s not what I’m worried about,” Lilith mumbled. “Edal...she went through decades of this,” She said quietly, curling her hands close to herself. “And now she had to see it from me.”
“She managed,” King shrugged. “I mean, now it’s better for her to deal with.”
“You…” Lilith turned to King before shaking her head. “You have a strange sense of grudges, you know that? You’re always focused on only the present, unless it’s something extremely personal that happened to only you.”
“Amity crushed my cupcake and that is unforgivable.” King huffed, crossing his arms. “But...yeah. I find it easier to focus on the now than the past.” He admitted, appearing to space out for a moment.
“And that’s why you never learn,” Lilith sighed.
“I said I prefer to focus on the present, that doesn’t mean I’m ignoring what happened.” King grumbled, narrowing his eyes. “Last I checked, I’m not the one who has the whole house still mad at her.”
Lilith looked away, holding her chin in her hand as she muttered, but quieted down pretty quickly.
King sat up and fumbled with his tail for a moment, continuously glancing back in the living room, where Amity was now laying back on the couch with Luz happily chatting to her without a care in the world.
His gaze went back to Lilith, who, in stark contrast to the lit living room, was sulking in the dark kitchen, the only light coming through the broken window, only reaching halfway across the table.
Then he finally noticed her back.
“Your bleeding!” King gasped, standing bolt upright.
“Oh, am I?” Lilith mumbled, raising her head and trying to turn back.
The glass that had stuck into her wings from crashing through the window had transferred to her back. Chunks of glass were sticking out, somehow making her black dress even darker as it soaked her upper back and shoulders.
“Eda, Eda!” King called, stumbling and falling off the table before springing right back up. “Lilith’s covered in glass!”
“I’m fine, King,” Lilith hissed, a bit frantic as she tried to reach for him. “I’ve had worse than a bit of…”
Lilith trailed off, spotting two red heels in the doorway. She slowly looked up, facing Eda watching her.
“...I’m okay,” Lilith said, slowly straightening up in her chair, obviously trying to hide a wince. “King’s just being anxious.” She said with a wave of her hand.
Eda huffed, storming over and grabbing Lilith’s shoulder, sharply turning her to get a look at her back, where King was fearfully pointing.
She looked over the injury for only a few moments before releasing her sister and dragging a hand down her face, exasperated.
“Turn around in your chair and I’ll get them out.” Eda sighed. “We’ve got a few spare healing glyphs somewhere, or I can make a few. Is there glass anywhere else?”
Lilith blinked up at her sister, too stunned for words. She shook her head, never taking her eyes off her.
“Just scrapes,” Lilith said quietly. “You don’t have to--”
“You think you can remove glass from your own back?” Eda raised a brow, crossing her arms.
“...I can manage.” Lilith mumbled.
“I can help!” King offered, raising a paw.
“Don’t ask King for help, he’s clumsier than Luz.” Eda said sternly, much to the demon's annoyance.
“Look, I know you don’t want to help me, and I know you’re worried about those two,” Lilith said, keeping her voice from snapping as she gestured towards the living room, where Luz and Amity were quietly talking.
“So please, spare me your pity.” Lilith said, crossing her arms on the table and laying her head on them, turning her head away.
Barely a few seconds later, there was a sudden pain in her back.
Lilith yelped and jerked up, feeling something slide out with a sting. She whirled around, seeing that Eda, with her bare hands, had pulled out a large chunk of glass from between her shoulder blades, revealing it was covered in blood.
“You know,” Eda said, placing the shard on the table in front of Lilith with more force than necessary. “For someone who managed to become the leader of the most powerful coven in the Isles, you’re the most stubborn, idiotic person I know.” She growled.
“You’re no treat yourself,” Lilith grumbled back.
“Nope, no, shut up, shut it.” Eda raised a finger. “This isn’t about one-upping each other. You’re so stubborn that you’d rather bleed out than admit that, for once in your life, you had no control over a situation.”
“I’m not going to die, Edalyn.” Lilith muttered.
“Yes, you’ll be fine, but you know as well as I that if you were that hurt, you still wouldn’t let me at least try to be nice to you.” Eda growled. “Face it, Lily, things are different now. And you don’t have a say in it anymore.”
Lilith gritted her teeth and curled her lip, flashing sharp rows of fangs. She gave a low growl, and Eda reciprocated, revealing her own fangs, her golden tooth noticeably longer than the others, as she gave a deeper growl.
The two stayed in a stare-off for a few seconds, causing King to fearfully hop off the chair, instead hiding underneath it.
That’s when the front door opened.
“Viney!” Luz’s voice drifted into the kitchen. “How did you--”
“I had Puddles fly me,” Viney replied, and you could faintly hear the sounds of cooing outside. “Amity, c’mere, let me see how much you guys managed to patch up.”
Lilith’s growling fell right then, Eda’s following a moment after. She turned her head downwards, her ears pressing back.
“You should go check on them,” She said softly.
“Yeah, I should.” Eda agreed, taking a step back as her eyes narrowed.
She continued to stare at Lilith for a moment longer, and her sister didn’t look up. King crawled out from under the chair, looking up at her with his tail hanging underneath him.
Eda opened her mouth to say something before slowly shutting it again, thinking.
“Tell them I’m sorry,”
Eda almost didn’t hear what Lilith said, her voice was quieter than a whisper. Eda blinked and looked her sister up and down.
“Tell them yourself.” She said instead.
She backed up further, the light coming through the kitchen entryway bathing her as she continued watching Lilith, who continued to sit at the dark table as she turned away.
With that, Eda walked out of the kitchen without another word.
King watched the doorway for a few moments, tuning out the words of the others before climbing back up onto the table by Lilith. He rested his head on her arm, closing his eyes as she used her other hand to stroke his back.
Her eyes stayed transfixed on the glass shard sitting in front of her, the blood already starting to dry on the wooden table.
In the stretching shadows, the shards in her back almost looked like spikes.

Number 31 from the prompt list
Edit: Forgot to say this was in my AU that’s still in the works (aka in my brain)
He didn’t know what sounded worse. The fact that he was basically in a coma while his other half ran rampant in a feral state or having the other half come back and remembering everything it… he did.
The half Oni man sat up on the rooftop of the monastery, trying to be away from everyone after the Oni had rampaged through the cities and into his old home until they were banished from the realm entirely. That led to his other half to go back into hiding in him and he hadn’t heard of it since.
He could hear the sound of someone’s feet on the floor of the attic he was above. He leaned a bit before pulling back up when he saw a familiar form coming through the window. “Stupid.. fucking Oni man.. thinking he can brood up here and not expect anyone to find him.” Ah yes he can recognize that grumbling anywhere.
His eyes looked over and he saw someone in dark red robes, gray hair and copper eyes. His eyes used to be a shade of red orange when he had his powers. It took time to get used to his eyes being different but he liked them.. even if he denied it just to bury his old feelings.
“So what’s wrong with you?” Krux finally spoke up with a hint of annoyance. He sat down beside him, getting on his level. “Please don’t bother lying to me or dodging the subject. I’m not in the mood for your games.” Krux crossed his arms.
Garmadon remained silent for a while. How the heck was he supposed to word everything that happened? He didn’t want to believe it himself and he definitely didn’t want word to get out. Nothing left Garm for a few more moments. Krux watched him tilt his face into his hands. No noise.. nothing… until finally he heard it.
A sound he’d never thought to hear from him. It sounded— no, it is sniffling.
Krux’s normal scowl softened at that. His form was less tense but he kept his guard up. “Krux.” Garm whimpered in a low whisper.
“I fucked up.”
Krux leaned his head to find his gaze. “Isn’t that what you always do?”
“No I mean… I fucked up real bad this time.” He found his gaze and his breath hitched in his throat. His eyes were bloodshot and he was fighting back the tears. “I remember.. everything he did… everything I did.. the running, the fighting.. and-..” He cut himself off. He had hours, days even, to process this but he still didn’t want to believe it.
“Krux, I don’t know if I could even say it. I can’t tell Kimiko just yet about it. I don’t know how she’ll handle it and my son… oh my son he’s.. they’re all I’ve got in the end and I feel like I just messed it all up. I—.” There was the sound of a smack across his cheek and his head turned along with the hit. “Enough, Garmadon. Enough.”
Krux had to sigh at him. “Just give me the shorter version.” Garm remained silent once more. His hands moved back into his lap. He swallowed in nervousness and let out a sigh.
“Krux… there was a serpentine woman… and my other half… he… I…” The tears finally slid down his face. He hissed when they made contact with the still stinging slap mark. It took a moment or so, but Krux pieced it together and had to look away, holding a hand to his face. “Oh… you fucked up so bad.”
“I know.. I know.” He wiped his eyes away. “I know there’s no use hiding and crying about it but.. Krux what am I supposed to tell Koko, Lloyd, Wu, or any of them?” His hand hovered for a moment before he felt Krux grab his wrist. “Not immediately is how.”
“I’m no expert on this, but there’s still more we need to figure out first. You need to collect your thoughts, put everything together and tell them as best as you can.” Krux held on his hand with both, fastening the bandages around the hand. “Look, I don’t want to help you but you’re giving me little choice.” ‘And I don’t like seeing you like this.’ He thought about saying that but decided not to add it. The time twin looked up to him and before he could fight back the feeling of setting his hand on his cheek, it was already going there.
The taller man pulled away for a moment but the other’s hand followed. The second he set it down, he flinched underneath the touch. “Sorry for the slap but I had to snap you out of it somehow.” He apologized, rubbing his thumb against the trail of tears. “That and I probably had it coming from you.” He gave a broken sounding chuckle that dragged for a bit before becoming a set of sobs he tried to soften. He didn’t want the others to see him like this.
As much as Krux didn’t like the physical contact, he just couldn’t sit there. He was careful in shuffling closer, trying not to slip off the roof. His hand remained on his cheek while he went in front of him and set his other hand on the opposite cheek. Garm’s hands found his and he held them in their place.
By the time he calmed down, Krux was leaning his forehead on the other’s, murmuring and humming a little lullaby softly. Garm could barely hear it but it brought a sense of comfort he hadn’t felt in a long time. A sad smile slipped and he turned his head a bit, without thinking he pressed his lips on the man’s palm. Despite the physical difference and the years, his lips were still soft and he was obviously being careful with the scars on his palm and wrist.
Krux debated whether he should just replaced his hand with his own lips but ultimately decided against this. He didn’t want to muddle up Garm’s thoughts while he was like this, though he wasn’t sure they weren’t muddled in the first place. The time twin pulled his one hand away but the other was still stuck by Garmadon’s other hand while he still kept his lips pressed into his palm. It didn’t feel much like a kiss anymore. Just his mouth being placed against his hand.
“Garmadon.” He whispered. He moved the salt and pepper bangs out of his face and he continued in his low whispers. “You have to come down sometime.” Garm looked up at that and pulled away from his hand finally. He shook his head. “Not yet.. I just.. I don’t want to face them yet.”
“And you don’t have to. You don’t have to say anything about it yet until we have all the details.” He comforted. Garm noticed the small detail in his wording. “We?” Krux froze for a moment, realizing what he said. “Well, you shouldn’t have to go through this alone. That’s not fair to anyone.”
“Not even to your old enemy?” The corner of his lip curled a bit at that and he looked up to the former brunet.
“Not even to a good person like you.” He could feel himself become a little flushed at saying that but in all honesty and despite their messy history (even calling it messy was a severe understatement), he knew he was right.
“Can we still wait here a while longer?” The demigod looked him over, not even hiding it. Krux rolled his eyes at him. “Only a while. I don’t need your son to chase me out thinking I’m trying to have a one night stand with his father. I may have been an enemy who amassed an army for over four decades and almost won but I’m no home-wrecker.”
Garm let out a small chuckle. “No. No you’re not.”

Ok but how about the ‘married to the enemy’ au where there’s an emergency that calls for them to drop by Andrews place (who had a day off?) and Neil opens the door in his underwear and a shirt that is clearly Andrews and he’s like ‘hi?’ and acts all domestic and invites them in and shit
BRUH YOU CANT REKINDLE OLD FICS LIKE THIS
*
“This seems ill-advised,” Matt said.
Kevin simply huffed. Andrew wasn’t feral. Besides, it was an emergency. The man had shut his phone off, as was totally permitted on explicitly prefaced days off (but was still baffling to Kevin, who picked up every call and always had his phone fully charged).
“Renee wouldn’t agree with us intruding,” Dan agreed, hanging back a little. She was the one who’d suggested they bully their way into Andrew’s place in the first place. Kevin couldn’t believe she was the one backing out the easiest.
“That’s why we didn’t tell her. You’re both stalling,” he told the couple, and rapped his fingers loudly on the door.
It took thirty seconds for someone to answer: when the door swung open, Kevin regretted everything.
Neil Hatford wasn’t much to look at, much like his husband. His hair was very clearly mussed from sleep - or something else - and he had quickly pulled on an old grey zip-up. That did nothing to hide the red-plaid boxer-briefs, or the t-shirt that was a little short on him and said:
twins can’t mind read, so don’t even ask.
“Oh,” Andrew’s husband, the Butcher of Baltimore’s son, said. “Er, hello?”
“Hi,” Matt said, bolstering on like the man wasn’t in his pyjamas, or that he was clearly trying to keep back two cats from the doorway. “Andrew took an important case-file home that we need. Is he here?”
“He’s just in the shower,” Neil said, stepping aside to let the three of them in. He and Kevin shared a glower as Kevin walked past. Kevin was still unable to get past the whole mobster thing, and Neil wasn’t exactly pleased about it. “Ignore the mess: we’re getting ready to move.”
It wasn’t too messy: a few boxes were here and there on the table, some sealed, others filled with random things. None of them had labels, but rather, numbers. How they were supposed to remember what was what was beyond Kevin.
Neil flicked a cat toy off the couch and directed them to sit down. “Tea?”
“Sure,” Matt said, enthusiastic as the cats crowded his ankles. Neil smiled at him. “How have you been, Neil?”
“Alright,” the man said, flicking on the kettle. Kevin inched his foot away as one of the felines tried to play with his shoe-laces. He was much more of a dog person. “I plan on dying in this house. I never want to move again.”
“It’s a nightmare,” Dan agreed, settling into the well-worn cushions as she took in every facet of her surroundings. Her gaze lingered on the family photos, stacked on a shelf above the television. Her smile went all soft.
Kevin scoffed.
Four mugs of tea and a gentle scolding of the cats for trying to rip Dan’s trousers later, and Neil was sitting on the edge of the coffee table, talking amicably with both Dan and Matt. He’s zipped up the hoodie to hide the fact that the shirt was definitely not his, and also to obscure the red smudgings of emerging lovebites from view. His socks had cat-ears sewn into the hem. It was all ridiculously soft. Kevin’s scowl depended.
The bedroom door opened and yielded Andrew, toweling his hair dry in sweats and a long-sleeve, pushed up to the elbows. At the presence of others, he immediately dropped his arms and tugged down his sleeves.
“Well, isn’t this just nice,” he said, voice dangerously low.
“All we need is the Lakes file,” Kevin said. “Then we’ll get out of your hair.”
Andrew glanced at Neil, who smiled serenely up at him. He turned his impassive gaze back to the trio on the couch and said “You’d better.” before turning on his heel and marching to another room that was presumably his office. Dan and Matt leapt up to follow him: Kevin did too but hesitated at the last moment, holding the warm cup of tea between taut fists.
Neil looked up at him, arching an unimpressed brow. “Yes, Day?”
“Sometimes I can’t decide if you or Andrew are the bigger idiot for thinking this would work out fine.”
Neil hummed. “Sometimes I worry that it won’t. But it’s been fine thus far, hasn’t it?”
“If you hurt him, I won’t hesitate to have you thrown in prison and the key chucked down the drain,” Kevin warned.
Neil snorted. “A shovel-talk. Andrew’s own twin wasn’t gutsy enough to try it. You’re an interesting one, Kevin Day. You know that my old boss still remembers you?”
Kevin froze.
“He said you were always the diligent one. I think he quite likes your style,” Neil said.
“I’m a cop. How on earth could he ‘like my style’?”
Neil shrugged. “The lord works in interesting ways. He let both of us go: his biggest investments. In that way we’re pretty similar, aren’t we?”
“I’m nothing like you,” Kevin retorted.
Neil shrugged again. “You keep telling yourself that, Day.” He glanced to where the other three came out of Andrew’s study, Dan holding the file within her tight grasp.
“It was nice to see you,” Dan said, letting Matt link their arms. “You should hold a housewarming for the new place.”
“We promise not to bother you like this again,” Matt insisted.
Andrew just grunted, eyes only for Neil and Kevin.
“Bye,” Kevin said staunchly. Andrew huffed and vanished into the bedroom again.
Neil lead them out, socked feet whisper-quiet on the wooden floorboards. He picked up both the cats to keep them running this time, and nodded the three of them goodbye with only a little bit of mischievous warmth in his eye.
“He’ll win you over someday,” Matt grinned, jostling Kevin’s shoulder. “You can’t hold onto it forever.”
Kevin merely scowled.

The Brainrot has gotten to me
WELL HERE YOU GO FOLKS (almost) ALL MY NOTES ON WYRMTHREAD (Chantilly/Quezal) both in Canon and in a Happier AU because yes Most put under a readmore because its over 1K long and the very end has some suggestive things because I’m allowed to think like that too so just as a heads up
Anyways here
Canon Codex
Do not establish a relationship outside of a blooming interest in each other that gets nipped in the bud due to...yeah cries
So let us not delve too deeply into Canon rn, and sadly since the plot absolutely needs Chantilly gone to progress we turn to HAPPIER AUS!!!!! :DDDDD because I drove myself deep into brainrot and aoughhhhghhhghhhhghh
Songs I associate with canon because music is good-
I THOUGHT YOU WANTED TO DANCE by Tyler the Creator
Mr Loverman by Ricky Montgomery
Rest Easy, I’ll See You Again by Cuco (the title is a LIE)
Pain by Pinkpantheress
La Gata Bajo la Lluvia by Rocío Dúrcal
The Night We Met by Lord Huron (thank you Jaxx)
Noche No Te Vayas by Los Tres Caballeros
Better Timeline AU!!!!
Placeholder name but honestly it might stick because I’m too lazy to think up of a better one hghfdnkj, am open to suggestions tho
Basic Premise of this AU: Through some magic fuckery or whatever, Chantilly is allowed out of the Troupe and decides to tag along with our funky wyrm gal because nowhere else to go/hrnng big lady pretty. They actually do start going out and it turns out hey! They like each other, like a lot.
They like each other so much that they get married and bam, WyrmThread real
This is great because not only is my otp now canon and alive, Fuego (and later on Lune when Fuego adoptskidnaps them into the family) now has both parents! And they love their kids sm like damn do not get in between them else you want to get yeeted to Unalive World.
In this one, the motivations for [REDACTED] have now morphed into somewhat the same way in terms of being dealt with but now we got the lacey boy to help Quezal do [SPOILERS], fight [SPOILERS] and help complete [SPOILERS] and help establish her empire. (I’m sorry but I am not revealing any important Codex spoilers yet)
“Will you be the Malfina to my Connecticut Clark?”
Girlboss and Malewife, except they’re both still murderous and would happily see you to your grave if you intervene with any of their plans. I’ve given Chantilly throwing knives :) because he deserves to be dangerous.
He deserves to look cool!! With knives!!! Fighting alongside his wifey!!
Of course NKG fucks off when Chantilly leaves the Troupe but I love to think of him being akin to a disapproving in-law (“Really Chantilly?? You run off and marry some wyrm that didn’t even have a kingdom to begin with? Have the standards of the Nightmare Vessels deteriorated as time went on?”)
Chantilly is somewhat concerned that Fuego is much more, for lack of a better word, feral than a regular Grimmchild would be but he doesn’t regret the decision to have him. He loves his bitey son even if he scratches through fabrics like water.
And Quezal enjoys having another person to coil around and snarl at anyone that gets too close to them. It does take a while until they’re like velcro due to her issues with touch being equated to violence (Thanks dad /s) but once she overcomes that fight or flight response she absolutely does not let go of him.
Burrowing into a dark place and nuzzling until he smells like her makes Wyrm brain go brr. And since he isn’t a wyrm there’s no instinct yelling at her to maim him if there’s no babies to take care of/mating season passed, he in her eyes is harmless. Even if they both know different, at least in her brain he is just a lil guy, no threat to her.
Chantilly loves all the attention he’s getting from her, absolutely will allow her to carry him off and coil up against him as long as he can work on sewing while she broods over him.
He’s naturally warm and for a wyrm that needs outside heat to regulate her inner temp like a snake he’s like a hot water bottle, world cold husband warm.
Happby family can these Queers be HAPPY PLEASE
Love languages!!!
Quezal once she gets comfortable with physical stuff likes to nuzzle and bite :) but not to draw any hemo or cause harm, just to hold in mouth. She also likes to do acts of service, making sure that her husband is wont for nothing and doing little things like sharpening his knives for him.
Chantilly loves to gift-give! Usually things he made by hand.
“Quezal pls let me make you pretty dresses and outfits please you would so look good in teal”
He likes kissing a lot, smoochies for wife and cuddling is great for him too, as long as he can sleep with his chest unobstructed he’s good
They both love showing each other off
“Look at my partner they’re the fucking best ever, none of you bitches can compare to them.”
When the empire is finally formed and Quezal takes her place as Empress she offers the title of Emperor to Chantilly
He declines, Royal titles are just not his thing and he feels uncomfortable with them, so instead he goes by the title of “Lord”
His duties consist of assisting with any paperwork Quezal doesn’t want to deal with and being eye candy (/j but also not really he loves being shown off esp in new outfits)
He also deals with nobles that aren’t too pushy, the ones that do are quickly steered towards Quezal. And usually after a meeting with her they learn better than to try to smart mouth either of them.
Family Notes!
Chantilly’s the one to go to if you need advice and soothing comfort
Quezal’s the one to go to if you need someone beat the fuck up and also advice but in the no nonsense way.
She also comforts but it's not in the way that Chantilly will delicately soothe the pains away, she tells you how it is but will hug you and tuck you into bed if wanted.
On the other hand, Chantilly is the one Fuego and Lune go to if they want to do something crazy or stupid and know that mom won’t say yes.
He dresses them up in poofy outfits (see the clown costume I’ve thrown on Fuego as an example) and shows them off to Quezal
“Look my dear! Aren’t they the sweetest things you have seen!”
It is very funny
SONGS I ASSOCIATE WITH THIS AU
Meet Me At Our Spot by WILLOW
First Love/ Late Spring by Mitski
I Hear A Symphony by Cody Fry
She’s My Collar by the Gorillaz
My Kind of Woman by Mac DeMarco
New Light by John Mayer
Vivir by Jardin
coffee by Miguel
Never Getting Rid of Me from the Waitress Musical
WARNING WARNING
Ok next few am going to be a bit suggestive so stop here if you’re not into that but
I’m debating on if they’d have more children than Fuego and Lune and if so, how many HDJFJKSJ (thinking of twins named Arco and Iris because Arcoiris means Rainbow and I kind of like that and I’m also a sucker for twins)
Listen, they’re both switches but most if not all the time Quezal’s the one topping. The man is submissive and breedable what do you expect HDJFJS
s i z e  D i f f e r e n c e
Chantilly is a sensual romantic and loves a lot of buildup while Quezal just wants to get on with the good stuff, they make it work with communication and understanding each other :)
They’re both capable of carrying so if they did have more kids I’d imagine they’d take turns on who’s turn it is to be eggy. (And I have so many thoughts about how they’d treat each other while pregnant but HHHHFJFJFHHHF too embarrassed rn waagaghgg)
These two love each other very much and I love them.
