Top 10 things to love!

Do you make a list of your favourite things? How many people out there in podcast-land actually have a running inventory of the things that make them happy? Obviously there is no way of answering that question. On this episode, I run down some of the things I love the most. If there is a better way to celebrate 250 podcast episodes, I can’t think of what that might be.

So, what are some of the top 10 things to love? This episode starts with my favourite authors. It turns out I really enjoy action/adventure stories. Give me international chases, mythology, and harrowing odds and I will be happy. I also enjoy science fiction and self-help type books that aren’t overly saccharine or preachy. Some deeply philosophical literature is also in my list of things to love.

Two other top 10 lists I present to you are movies and television shows. Once again, I love some science fiction. But I also enjoy the occasional drama and some cartoons. Coming up with absolute lists is a difficult task. Our tastes change over time. However, for the most part, the top 10 things to love list is from my early days, with a few newer things added in.

Finally, we wrap up the podcast. The last list consists of my 10 favourite episodes of Soul Forge Podcast. There is no real theme to these 10 episodes. Some deal with sex and relationships. Others have to do with regular life. The one thing they all have in common is that I love them, and I hope you will too!

So I've hit season 14 in my latest rewatch and I always forget how much I like Mine Condition! It's just so much fun and I love we are bringing back Sam's dislike of Halloween from the pilot and season 4 plus we hit on season 2s Hollywood Babylon with Dean's love of horror movies (Sam still doesn't get it) and the Hell Hazers movie Dean was a PA on. Also the movie trailer with the show which was done there as well. I love when the show remembers its history and I love when they have fun with themselves. The red hood statue in the shop as a nod to Jen mention of Friday the 13 which Jared was in one etc. for a MOW this was a good one IMO. It was a nice break from the drama of the show with the Michael stuff. Especially when binge watching cause it was quite dark for a bit here then bam a Thundercat beat someone up and we are off. This is also one of the few EPs no one dies in which I liked (Well except Jordan who was already dead). This one just makes me (and Dean) feel good.

Norse paganism was animistic. Norse ice giants aren't some kind of half-human hybrids; they are nature spirits. Have you ever been caught in a blizzard? If you have, you have had an encounter with an ice giant.

Loki has been associated with Satan because modern Christians (and even culturally Christian pagans) projected a Christian moral worldview onto Norse mythology and spirituality. They assumed that since Odin was the supreme god, then his rival Loki had to be analogous to Satan. Once you start really digging into Norse mythology and start getting your head around Norse animism, you'll begin to see how wrong and ridiculous these people are.

And of course, all that stuff about the Annunaki actually being space aliens is total racist bullshit. And that shit about reptilians is literally just repackaged antisemitism. In fact, New Age mythology has quite a lot to do with Nazi racial ideology, even if a lot of New Agers don't realize it.

Also, citing Thundercats as evidence of your conspiracy theory is really damn silly. For one thing, many writers borrow ideas from fringe literature all the time because they sound fun (see: Roland Emmerich), so even if a piece of media echoes things you believe in, doesn't mean the creators "know the truth." Also, some of you people (actually, a lot of you people) literally just watch a TV show or movie that seems to confirm some of your beliefs, and you just add its other elements into your belief system.
