Obi-Wan in his natural habitat in the temple sleeps in a loft bed (it was supposed to be storage he said cat instinct and turned it into a loft bed they’re shockingly common with Jedi tbh tho) and under 17 fluffy blankets with a pregnancy pillow (he’s not pregnant he just can’t sleep off his stomach if he don’t got one and sometimes autism requires squishing to keep it all down) and three more fluffy blankets on top of him. He has an optional Padawan or pet (not really a pet, just whomever followed him how from the gardens today) in bed with him also. And he’s got a projector on the wall and has a night stand with water and gaming devices so he can survive up there forever.

The clones, who have learned to sleep with full kute coverings and usually without blankets or pillows cause they just pass out on each other, most of whom identified with their Jedi for having similar sleeping types if they weren’t human, realize they are quite horrified by his Stewjoni nesting instinct. And he’s offended and refuses to sleep with any of them till they apologize to his favorite stuffed animal for insulting his HOUSE. Fuck you bitches he and Master Sparkle Bantha deserve better.

Cody is groveling while Alpha is still trying to negotiate a less intense number of blankets and Anakin is just shaking his head like ‘it’s not worth it Bro’ and Alpha is like ‘shut up ur an omega too you brat’ and that’s the last straw, you called them omegas now Cody is asking what an omega is and Alpha is trying to figure out how to keep his AO3 account hidden from his vod’e and nvm he’ll sleep in the barracks forever-

If you don’t sleep with at least two comforters and a queen sized fuzzy blanket then I don’t trust you. Yes I refuse to trust my sister and wife okay. Everything in the world has a downside and that’s theirs. My bed is half dragon hoard of yarn and squishmallows. I’m not changing for anyone.

Anakin’s bed is 90% pillow and squishmallow and 10% blanket. Padme uses a thin cotton blanket and lets him burrito wrap himself and uses him like a body pillow while he’s captive in the blankies.

The Clone Wars 5.02 ‘A War on Two Fronts' Reaction

Rex what on earth are you wearing?! Look what they did to my boy.

Ahahahahah omg, it’s an absolute 'blink and you’ll miss it' moment but after Rex leaps off the tank and just before the shot changes, you can see him brush off his shoulder. Sir, you are definitely showing off. You utter dork. I love him so much.

So this is where we meet Saw Gerrera. Great.

Pitting two young girls against each other over the affections of some teenage boy. How original. I thought something written in 2012 would be better than this but that’s probably looking back with far too rose tinted glasses. Or the awful goggles Rex was wearing.

Rex’s outfit would’ve been so good without those bloody googles. We were robbed.

Just paused it and the hat and earmuffs aren’t great either. And why is he wearing long socks with the pants tucked into them? Is that an aerial or view thingy on his right earmuff? What is the random patch under the long sleeved shirt on his right bicep? Are the blotches supposed to be a camouflage pattern? Ok, I revise my opinion. This entire outfit is trash. Burn it with fire.

Where on earth did Rex get this abomination of an outfit anyway? Does the 501st just have a random closet full of awful civvies clothes? Ahahah, it’s a disguise box isn’t it. 

Ok I’m now analysing Rex’s outfit way too much but oh well, here we are. What are the random pouches attached to his belt for? Why have pockets on your pants if they’re not holding anything? Now that I look at it, the chest plate really doesn’t seem to be covering a great deal. Why are you wearing 2 layers Rex? Unless the underneath layer is his blacks, then it makes more sense. And what are the holsters for your DC-17s attached to? They’re sitting on his hips but the belt is around his waist and they don’t look like they’re connected. Are they just magically connected to his person? Do ARCs just come out of training with their holsters glued to their hips? I have so many notes about this outfit.

Tangentially related outfit notes: Why does Ahsoka have to wander about in a) a boob tube and then b) a skin tight outfit with cutouts, yet Rex and all the guys are fully covered in loose clothing. Oh wait, I know why.

Ah, so Steela was the voice of reason. Of course, it’s the young girl that has to keep the arrogant, hot headed male in check. This is painfully dated, and probably explains why Saw went completely off the rails after her death.

Really not impressed with Saw. He’s arrogant, dismissive and hot-headed. That line from Steela about how he fashions himself as their leader even though no one elected him does not bode well either.

So many Jedi cloaks in this episode! I love the return of their ridiculously obvious and completely unsubtle “disguises”. 

Lmao at Obi-Wan and Anakin at the end having their serious Jedi conversation while pretending to be subtle in their cloaks. No one is falling for that boys.

Oh, this is the planet that The Bad Batch went to in ‘Aftermath’. I thought Onderon felt familiar. It’s decidedly weird sometimes watching The Clone Wars after watching The Bad Batch. There’s a lot of moments that I didn’t understand the significance of and thus completely missed out on. Like the return of Rex in ‘Battle Scars’, Cody in ‘The Solitary Clone’ and Gregor (who I still haven’t met in TCW yet) in ‘War-Mantle’. Things like understanding exactly who Cut and Suu were in ‘Cut and Run’ and the importance of their history in TCW, especially with Rex. Even Trace and Rafa are characters from TCW, though I’ve yet to meet them either. And then there’s moments like this where a planet that is completely new at the time of this TCW episode being broadcast is familiar to me because of the backwards way I’ve watched everything. I’m definitely going to have to rewatch The Bad Batch at some point once I’ve watched all of TCW, Rebels and Tales of the Jedi to fully understand and get all the moments and references. 

Lmao of course they have the two characters that were fighting team up at the end and use the same training exercise they failed at earlier to defeat the droids. I know it’s an “animated kids TV show” and sometimes you can really tell. And yet there’s also commentary in here about the folly of an external (essentially) military force training insurgents/rebels from another planet country and the consequences there of. Hmmmmmmm, I wonder what on earth that could be referring to. Hmmmm.

I still cannot believe Rex’s outfit. The ribbing in the group chat is going to be even worse than after the Zygerrian armour.

The Clone Wars 2x8 ‘Brain Invaders’ Reaction

It’s the Geonosian worm episode! Worms for everyone! (apart from Ahsoka).

I figured it would happen eventually but we were finally introduced to a whole bunch of named clones, only for them to die. I don’t think all of them were killed but there were definitely a few. The one that was impaled by Bariss’s lightsaber through the chest was a particularly gruesome death. It all kind of felt unnecessary but I suppose that was kind of the point. It was a shitty situation for everyone involved and you can’t blame two kids who are fighting for their lives. They both tried their hardest to try to not harm the clones. We clearly see a number of shots and pieces of action where both Ahsoka and Bariss use non-lethal moves on the possessed clones, including Force pushes and kicks and strikes. I think the collective fandom hive mind can sometimes forget that padawans are still kids. Ahsoka is definitely a young teenager and I’d put Bariss in that age range as well. And that’s not even getting into how old the clones. That’s a whole mess of how old they are in years/cycles compared with how old they are developmentally physically, mentally and emotionally. I’m going to have to stop myself otherwise I’m just going to go on another rant about the clones. I bet the bloody Kaminoans didn’t even care about their emotional health and well-being and development. 

Speaking off, why was there a Kaminoan on the medical space station! Shoo back to Kamino and leave the clones in peace. They can look after themselves, they’re beyond exceptionally competent.

In non-clone news, I think this is the first time I’ve heard the Imperial March, which was very clearly interwoven into the background while Anakin was interrogating Poggle. @cross-my-heartt you were right on the money about them weaving it in to emphasise Anakin’s descent to the dark side. Also, the cliched “Leave us.” to the guards at the door. Lmao. They basically took every villain trope and slapped it on that scene. 

For one of the earlier Clone Wars episodes that seems to be referenced more often than others, I thought there'd be more to it.

E - Have you added anything cracky/hilarious to your fandom? If so, what? — Oh man, there are some things I refuse to talk about lmao but... 🤔🤔 Not publicly, no. Maybe the thing I’m currently working on, but it seems more “crack taken seriously” than straight up crack.

F - What’s the longest you’ve ever been in a fandom? — For like... fictional fandoms, probably Star Wars. I got into the movies when I was like 11 or 12, and when I got access to the internet a year or so later I discovered Star Wars fanfiction. I was really into Luke/Mara, lol. I didn’t actually publish any fic until after TFA but when I was a kid I wrote novels in spiral notebooks about the further adventures of Luke and Leia. I also kind of shipped them for a bit because I watched them out of order starting with ESB, then ANH and finally ROTJ. Oops!

K - What character has your favorite development arc/the best development arc? — Hmm, overall... I’d have to say Eleanor Shellstrop and Ahsoka Tano, for different reasons. In The Good Place we see Eleanor go from a completely self-centered, genuinely bad person who doesn’t care who she hurts to someone who is able to love and be loved, who cares about the people and the world around her and helping them find peace and happiness. 

And with Ahsoka, we start off with a cocky, immature teenager who we get to follow over the course of The Clone Wars into a capable, mature, respected leader and hero. This isn’t to say that there was anything wrong with Ahsoka’s cockiness, and immaturity is to be expected from a fourteen-year-old, but I just like that we see her grow up and become such a fully-realized, well-rounded, good person over the course of The Clone Wars, Rebels, the novel, and so forth. 

I think the most important thing about Ahsoka’s growth is that she’s so similar to Anakin in many ways but, in a way, because she has Anakin in her life as a guiding force (along with many other support systems Anakin doesn’t have) she’s able to be faced with similar forking paths and make different choices. I think if Ahsoka had had one or more of her supports yanked away and she’d been confronted with the choices Anakin is confronted with, she might have fallen too. I see her as Anakin’s narrative double in a lot of ways, and as a path Anakin’s story could have taken had he been out from under Palpatine’s influence.

no, this isn’t necessarily a marvel au because i feel like crossing.......the mcu and star wars, which are already big franchises, just messes with my head? plus,,,,the mcu just has such distinct character archetypes that i can’t really fit neatly with the clone wars, so here’s just a super convoluted au that could honestly just work as an entirely different story on its own and probably only has enough in common with tcw by like,,,,a thread, but ANYWAYS I AM HERE WITH MORE THOUGHTS OF AN AU AND YOU JUST HAVE TO SUFFER WITH ME!

okay, so anakin’s story is kinda bizarre: 

i mean, he’s the chosen one in star wars and all that with all these freaky far-reaching abilities with the force so i’m not gonna take that away from him--so idk in this universe i’m just gonna say that he’s gonna be like....a mimic. i feel like he would be the kind of person who just steps into a room and absorbs / can mimic the abilities of any other powered human in the room, only like,,,amplify it. he’s tricky to catch because of that, because no one knows what power he might absorb next. 

but i feel like while anakin can certainly show off with this, i think he’ll also at least attempt to be a little private about this? (lmao we know he’s gonna fail though, because  ily anakin  but you’re the worst at keeping secrets). i feel like he would compensate for all the fancy gadgets + stuff, or sometimes just swing into rooms and be like “anyways guys i came up with a new thing” and everyone always stares at him because for some reason, everyone forgets that anakin skywalker is, in fact, a genius who doesn’t necessarily need his powers to be extraordinarily powerful. there’s more to him than just his weird powers, you guys. 

right, so obi-wan: 

every superhero team needs the wise intellectual, and i feel like obi-wan will always be that one person. i feel like his powers would have to complement anakin’s rather well though, since they’re,,,y’know. the team. oh wait shit-- 

okay okay okay (sorry, this is me really just kinda liveblogging my stream of consciousness), but like?? if anakin can amplify powers, i think of obi-wan being the one to muffle them. like, i feel like just touching someone and suddenly boom, no more powers. you’re now forced to fight obi-wan on even ground (lmao). obi-wan doesn’t necessarily absorb the powers like himself, he just...knows how to quiet them enough so that for the next little while, the opponent is absolutely useless. 

i feel like a lot of people wind up underestimating obi-wan that way,,,at first. everyone makes that mistake, but then everyone realizes that oh yeah, anakin skywalker? dangerous dude. but obi-wan kenobi? if you don’t catch where you’re looking, you could very well end up dead if he wanted. 

our feral gremlin ahsoka: 

well, every team needs the youngster who everyone on the team loves, right? idk maybe it’s because of the togruta biology and something about togruta being more balanced than like,,,humans that makes me want ahsoka to be the ultimate stealth person. when i say this, i mean like duh she’s got incredible balance, but i think it would be super cool if she was able to just like.........move through walls. no one ever sees her coming because first of all, she’s kinda small, but second of all,,,,again: you could just be chilling at your computer and suddenly there’s a short girl standing behind you because she just phased through the wall what the-- 

like most teenage superheroes, ahsoka def. seems kinda excited about being the superhero? also mildly exhausted. idk dude, you try doing calc homework and writing a history paper when you’re also trying to keep the world from being taken over by....robots or zombies or whatever. 

some other thoughts that i have but have yet to flesh out because i should probably actually get back to work now: 

rex also absolutely has superpowers, but don’t you dare call him a sidekick. idk why, but i kinda want rex to be one of those people who creates literal earthquakes, kind of like quake from agents of shield. 

cody’s sole superpower is putting up with all the bullshit the rest of the team has. he doesn’t really care he doesn’t have powers, and tbh, everyone’s mildly terrified of the day cody ever gets hit with a freak accident that might make him have powers. 

well, every superhero story needs some reporter of some kind, right? ceo of some big news company padme amidala, who occasionally talks to anakin skywalker and absolutely knows his secret identity within like 2 minutes. 

actually, i totally forgot about whether the superheroes in this world would have secret identities.

i’ve decided. they all have secret identities. 

anakin’s the disaster engineer research person. no one really takes him seriously at work because he’s so freakishly young, but joke’s on them, because he’s saved everyone from evil robots at least ten times now. 

obi-wan by default is always going to be the tired english professor. he knows anakin because anakin’s research facility is literally within the same radius of the university campus. 

ahsoka goes to the high school nearby the school. she absolutely did not mean to meet anakin and obi-wan and rex, but okay, she just saw the fire in the school library and someone had to pull the students out, so it had to be her, and she might have tried to pull obi-wan and anakin out before obi-wan accidentally muffled her powers and then anakin got her powers, and then they were all SCREECHING AT EACH OTHER BECAUSE 

“WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO” 

“I DIDN’T DO ANYTHING” 

“WAIT YOU HAVE POWERS?”

Coruscant or Mandalore. I love how lively coruscant seems to be, and I love the art and architeture of Mandalore. Also the cutest bois are mandalorian so ayyy

So many! Maul is one of them. He’s One Evil Fucker but I also pity him a lot... He grew under Palpatine’s “care”. No wonder his moral compass is skewed.

Also the Jedi order as a whole? I love them but they’re (mostly) a group of super-powerful, well-intentioned people fucking up on a constant basis? Using an army of slaves without rights or names or lives of their own? Sending teenagers to war and telling them not to fall in love or get attached or fuck for that matter? Everyone points their fingers at anakin but there’s plenty of proof for how flawed that shit is beside him. Ahsoka Tano. Barriss Offe. A bunch of jedi-turned-sith. The jedi freaking take children from their families when theyre, well CHILDREN and... tell them not to care about anyone but also please care very much about everyone??? what???

Also can anyone please give a decent explanation as to why Ki Ad Mundi is allowed to fuck? Or why the alleged “peace keepers” are sending armies to actively wage war (not to rescue or defend anyone; to force planets to surrender, and to kill their soldiers and invade their lands until they do) instead of setting slaves like Shmi Skywalker free???

They “can’t trample the Hutts authority” in their territory Because That Would Be Wrong but they can deploy a fuckton of clone troopers to seize Umbara and their weapons??? Peace keepers my aaaasss y’all a bunch of self centered nasty fuckers and if the legend of Fuckhands Mcmike The Wise lured Anakin that easy it’s bc your marketing sucks ass.
