You must not understand how shockwaves work kid, if the resulting tremors from them trading blows would have killed anyone, it would have destroyed Earth first. Yet to our understanding NOBODY died. And in terms of holding back leading up to it, it's simple strategy, you don't start out going maximum in ANY fight unless you're sure you can finish it in one hit, which Goku was not necesarilly certain. It wasn't until he understood the scope of how much stronger Beerus was than Goku did he bother to use full power, because THAT is what's really dangerous here. And when it gets to the point that Earth IS endangered by his raw power it's already clear that he's going to need to use that much in order to even have a chance against Beerus.

And the blast thing, yeah, that's probably inexcusable, all I can really say is that I'm sure Goku was aware that anything he didn't charge up would have been largely ineffective.

The point on Goku as a father was more directed towards the Cell RPer.

Finally, it's not even just in the alternate Earths, those are always portrayed as extremely close dimensions to the prime universe to illustrate how close he IS. Great example being when Hal Jordan went crazy and ran amok as Paralax. Any powerful being is just as much a threat as a help, but Gokue's story isn't about moral implications, or what his actions do, but rather about the pursuit of greater strength, thus things like that will not be given mind, because they aren't important to the story being told.

A great example of this is the pagan implications in Hocus Pocus, and how everything in that movie affects our understanding of science. But we aren't supposed to pay attention because it isn't a part of the story at-hand. I'll get mad about things that Goku do affecting the world when it becomes important, and regardless, a threat that's defending Earth is probably better than one that's intentionally trying to destroy Earth.

You know, Goku is the biggest threat in all of DBZ. All of the villains acknowledged when they were killing. With Goku, he doesn’t even acknowledge it. He just views it as secondary to getting a good fight.

In Dragon Ball Super, instead of going full blast from the start against Beers, he holds back. Not only this, but he also nearly destroys the universe just because he’s confident in a new and untested technique. There was no one forcing him to charge Beers, he could easily juke Beers and put him in a head lock. Instead, he just plays the bro-fist game and as such, Goku is responsible for murdering trillions of innocents and putting trillions more at risk from his stupidity.

People say that Superman and Goku wouldn’t fight, but they definitely would. Goku’s blatant lack of care for any kind of innocent life and a monumentally self righteous personality make him the exact kind of person Superman would take on.

Token unpopular opinion time: I must have magically missed his killing trillions of people, unless that was like some piece of filler that personally I don't regard as canon more often than not. But on the point of not acknowledging the killing, he doesn't set out to kill anyone, and I'm not recalling any instance where he murdered a human tbh. And you really think Beerus would LET himself get head-locked, you think someone who's stronger than Goku could be trapped in a headlock by him? It's a really basic hold that's even easier to escape when your opponent is physically less powerful than you.

And how is Earth put at risk by his wanting to fight? When Beerus was going to destroy it anyhow, and Goku put his all into winning so that wouldn't go down. I think you're misunderstanding what went on. IS he a threat to people? Yeah, but so is Superman, who with one bad day could end up taking over the Earth and ruling it tyrannically, as has happened in several canons. And how is Goku Self-Righteous? If you're only watching the English dub, and have this mentality based on events I could see it, but true canon Goku doesn't hold delusions of grandeur, or think of himself as anything more than a fighter who's interested in getting stronger.

And as a father, that's an entire other issue. How can someone BE a good father when he's never had one? He was raised by Grandpa Gohan, but that was clearly brief as by the time the old man died Goku still didn't know what number came after 11. TFS portrays an exagerrated version, pretending like Goku KNOWS what a good father looks like and doesn't act like it, but we've seen Goku's entire life play out. The longest stretches of time that he's spent ANYWHERE were on Kami's Lookout, so that he could train to fight Piccolo and defend Earth, and with his wife for 4/5 years raising toddler Gohan. Goku has no clue what normal relationships are because nearly all of his were fleeting, or in passing.

Of course, you'd probably punish a small child for writing in a novel for the first time.

Ruby looked down at the orb that the small boy had in his hand. It didn’t look like anything she had ever seen before. After taking a look around and then back down at the orange orb again she grumbled softly. “I’ve never seen a gem like this in my life.”

Goku's mouth turned sideways as the weird-looking lady spoke, "Gem? It's not a gem." Speaking frankly as he corrected her, "It's a Dragon Ball." Putting the small orb back into the pouch on his belt, which housed two others.

"If ya don't mind me askin' are you sick or something? Your face is really red, and Grandpa always said you should lie down when that gets bad."
