“My theory is that we get depressed because we’re not getting what we want, and we’re not getting what we want because we have never been taught to get what we want. Instead, we’ve been taught to be good little boys and girls and good mothers and fathers. If we’re going to be one of those good things, better get used to being depressed. Depression is the reward we get for being “good.” But, if you want to feel better, I’d like you to clarify what you would like people to do to make life more wonderful for you.”
Quote by Marshall B. Rosenberg, psychologist, mediator, author and teacher. He developed nonviolent communication, a process for supporting partnership and resolving conflict within people, in relationships, and in society.

"In addition to the process of mourning and self-forgiveness, another aspect of self-compassion I emphasize is in the energy that's behind whatever action we take. When I advise, "Don't do anything that isn't play!" some take me to be radical, even insane. I earnestly believe, however, that an important form of self-compassion is to make choices motivated purely by our desire to contribute to life rather than out of fear, guilt, shame, duty, or obligation. When we are conscious of the life-enriching purpose behind an action we take, when the sole energy that motivates us is simply to make life wonderful for others and ourselves, then even hard work has an element of play in it. Correspondingly, an otherwise joyful activity performed out of obligation, duty, fear, guilt, or shame will lose its joy and eventually engender resistance."

Nine People You'd Like to Know Better
Tagged by @ladytanithia, @kookaburra1701, and @mareenavee - thank you my dears! 3 Ships 1. Neloth/Teldryn - My flagship, naturally. The one I never expected but consumed me whole. 2. Enthir/Urag - Also a ship that sort of grabbed me by the throat seemingly out of nowhere, even though they'd been cooking on the back-burner for a while 3. Aiden/Harukar - When their chemistry finally clicked into place in my brain, I've been left with an appropriate amount of brainrot. All of my ships have a theme of Uppity/Stable lol
First Ship Oh we're taking it way back... Hmm, I think if I counted the first time I knew of the word ship within the context its currently being used, it would probably be Harry/Draco. Close runner up would be Hiei/Kurama, though I shipped Hiei with my own OC first. Both of these phases were taking place around 2003-2004.
Last Song *checks Spotify* Well this is a bit embarrassing.... "Kryptonite" by 3 Doors Down
Currently Reading "Goldstein" by Laazov "Seven Years in Tibet" by Heinrich Harrer "Nonviolent Communication" by Marshall B. Rosenberg I can never just read one thing at a time.
Last Film The Green Knight
Currently Craving Craving? Not really craving anything. I'm pretty content right now. I'd like to feel a little more inspired to write with more consistency. But that just comes down to discipline lol.
I tag @amanitajack @thetinyshiloh @exhausted-eternally @anxious--ace @weirdisme @septicrodent @nejackdaw @yansurnummu and @getheeheed

Greetings,
1. Your content is very helpful, big thanks for answering questions so thoroughly!
I have aspd+npd and adhd.
cd in childhood ✔️
So I started therapy again, had my 3 visits to get-to-know-eachother and soon will have weekly or so appointments.
Now she ain’t really familiar with cluster b (I know I know…), but no other therapist in my area takes new patients or is familiar with the topic either.
Now today I told her about my diagnosis’s straightforward and she’s all about “not labeling symptoms as diagnosis’s”, she’s an in depth-psychotherapy psychologist and works with the NVC nonviolent communication concept by Marshall Rosenberg *deep sigh*
“Based on the teachings of Sigmund Freud, traditional psychoanalysis deals with the reconstruction of long-repressed memories, while depth psychology focuses primarily on the "present conscious".”
Now I know I will have to withhold my “I know better about this” reactions to some degree, I told her about cluster b treatment being specific and a lot of other disorders have same/similar symptoms aka having labels like aspd&npd IS HELPFUL CUZ NOW YOU KNOW WHAT YOURE WORKING WITH?? (+do precise research)
but we talked a little bit about me experiencing npd shame and she was like: “well that contradicts itself, you cannot have aspd and experience shame, aspd lacks that & you appear to be a nice lady anyway” *implodes*
The mocking laugh I had to withhold omg.
Now going by the books at least >3 symptoms have to be present & I have more than that.
Everyone experiences it differently, idk if it’s even considered somewhat of a spectrum?
And I HAVE THE LITERAL DIAGNOSIS ANYWAY.
Like what does she not get about me ALSO HAVING NPD COMORBID?! and shame being the core of NPD?
Now… I’ll probably stay with her for a while (if I have the self control) since I really need therapy to some degree at least, cuz things suck big time right now.
And my question is how to teach her her job and explain the aspd&npd comorbid stuff to her and that labels do play a role here? Idk just overall advice?
End of frustration rant🤦🏻‍♀️
-K
Thank you, I do my best!
TW, all caps text in the response (not aggressive, in a surprised/reaction way)
I'm just... gonna liveblog my response to this bc I have so many feelings on this therapist already and I have barely read 1/4 of the ask yet.
Not being familiar with cluster b pds actually isn't always a bad thing. I will happily take unfamiliar over some of the so called specialists in that area who believe in "narc abuse" and the like. I generally recommend people who think/know they have ASPD to seek out therapists in the range of trauma specialists over cluster b specialists for that reason.
Ugh, I can't stand the "I don't like labels/diagnoses" therapists enough already when they're referring to new ones while in their care, but to say that to someone who is telling you about a dx they already have is a new low.
Not the Freud! Not the "present conscious"! Gross gross all around imo. If that works for some of you that is awesome but I can't stomach that kind of therapist just for me personally.
Reconstruction of repressed memories is tricky because if they don't handle that right it is a very sensitive moment for them to fuck up/say something shitty, so I personally prefer to let those bubble up naturally, but because I have DID (oh ya, that official dx happened btw) they are more likely to bubble up for me than for a singlet. It makes sense to me that singlets would want a therapist for that.
OH DEAR FUCK I DID NOT THINK IT COULD GET WORSE. Ok so unpacking that - pwASPD absolutely experience shame, which is extremely common in traumatized people of any variety. In fact, shame is a very common symptom of PTSD. Remorse and shame are not only not the same, but they are so far removed from each other than even most ableist prosocials know and admit that those two are not even in the same family.
The "you appear to be a nice lady" is the icing on the "Get the fuck rid of this therapist if you can" cake for me, because it reeks of ableism and sexism at the same time. AFABs often have their symptoms of ASPD ignored entirely or intentionally mis-attributed to autism or BPD because they just cannot fathom an AFAB not thinking like a lady. ASPD is demonized and AFABs are infantilized and their tiny prosocial brains blow up because those two cannot co-exist.
I, to be quite honest, would chuck her in the unfixable pile. I wish I could give you advice on this, but there is just too much ableism, sexism, and ignorance in how she reacted in just this single interaction you described for me to think she's salvagable. When it's one little thing you can sometimes teach them/get them to learn with you - even though that is literally the opposite of what therapy is supposed to be - and get something good out of it, but with all of this I think it presents a much larger risk to you to try.
If you can't switch any time soon, I would try and stick to discussing non-cluster b issues as much as possible.
I can not and do not give professional advice because I am not a professional and in good conscience, I can't advise leaving one therapist without a direct plan on how and when to get another one ASAP. But I will say that specifically in relation to cluster b disorders, this therapist sounds like she will be more damaging than anything for that. That doesn't mean that she can't help with other conditions or stressors you're experiencing in the meantime, though!

anziché dire "mi fai sentire" si dice "mi sento";
anziché dire "mi hai detto o fatto questo" si dice "a me è arrivato questo, ho capito bene?";

Eminem:  A Year in Review, 2022
From turning half a century old, late in the year, to being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame, Eminem has had a stellar year.  The year 2022 was a busy time in the top-selling artist’s career.  He marked 20 years for 2 albums in his repertoire, The Eminem Show as well as the 8 Mile Soundtrack.  Celebrating both, two new anniversary albums were created & brought out with extra songs for them both including a handful of instrumentals on each.  There was also an album created for his many, many hits:  Curtain Call 2.  All three projects came with posts online offering clothing, collectibles & more. A lyric video for the great 2010’s Won’t Back Down, featuring Pink, was a highlight for some fans that have been enjoying the skills put into Eminem’s lyric videos that are included in Shady Records signed artists’ videos as well.  In part of the celebrations for Curtain Call 2, Eminem’s cover of the album was made into a mural in his hometown, Detroit, Michigan USA.
Further, Eminem was part of the all-star Hip-Hop halftime show at the 56th Superbowl which made history as the first ever all hip-hop/R&B line-up.  To celebrate the season Eminem gave us Shady Football that offered a clothing line to enjoy.  His restaurant, Mom’s Spaghetti Detroit celebrated big in New York as well as Los Angles & also hit their first year in business at a stationary location. As well, Marshall’s memorabilia shop, The Trailer, located above Mom’s Spaghetti in Detroit, had also been up & running for a year as of September 29th, 2022. As well, this year fans saw Marshall make it out to be a wonderful piece of the Detroit Lions Football club’s Hardknocks series on HBO Plus.  Eminem made his fans truly happy to see him sporting sunglasses & a smile at the event, showing the world he was full of quick wit & good humor.  In early Fall this year Eminem was XXL Magazine’s cover once again, but this time for their 25th Anniversary issue. Along with the cover Marshall gave us an incredible article & an equally incredible photo shoot.  It was an amazing year for the fans of Eminem, even without the “new” album some wanted so badly.
Getting in on the fun, Eminem took part of the B.A.Y.C’s (Bored Ape Yacht Club) spree that was running like wildfire during 2022.  Doing videos, making appearances & performing came from this venture in 2022 for Eminem.  To give fans an incredible look into the man behind the amazing art, Marshall & friends separately took a seat with PaulPod, a podcast that spanned weeks with manager Paul Rosenberg at the helm.   The Youtube’s 50 Million Subscribers Club, Minions, Elvis, Shazam, UFC & Spiderman all meant something to Eminem fans as he joined all of these aforementioned in this year, 2022.  Eminem took you to the cleaners, he took you to the trailer park.  He also gave us his early musical influences (over 100 listed) on Spotify & so much more – all for his fans.  What will 2023 have in store for our favorite superhero, Marshall B. Mathers III?  Only time will tell.  One thing I’ve learnt - you can’t rush an artist for their art, they must feel it so that you will, in turn, feel & experience it yourselves.  The saying goes:  All good things to those who wait.  2023 – here we come!  ~

Words Are Windows (Or They’re Walls)
I feel so sentenced by your words I feel so judged and sent away Before I go I got to know 在離開前,我得明白, Is that what you mean to say?
Before I rise to my defense, Before I speak in hurt or fear, Before I build that wall of words, Tell me, did I really hear?
Words are windows, or they’re walls, They sentence us, or set us free. When I speak and when I hear, Let the love light shine through me.
There are things I need to say, Things that mean so much to me, 我必須將它們說出來。 If my words don’t make me clear, Will you help me to be free?
If I seemed to put you down, 如果我似乎在貶低你, If you felt I didn’t care, Try to listen through my words To the feelings that we share.
