Great news: I may have a consultation with a therapist about starting medical transition next month
Less great news: the leader of the medical team is my transphobic teacher from psychology that believed that being transgender was a mental illness and called his transgender girl friend (as in female friend) for a ‘man dressing up as a woman’

for the past two years, you started to have weekly calls with your brother, to update him on your life and know what’s happening on his.
you got transferred to london because of your job, you couldn’t find any apartments online and you were supposed to move the other week, being really desperate you told him about it, hoping he knew a real estate agent or something like that, but you were incredibly caught by surprise with his answer.
“thats such nonsense, you should just stay in my empty room until you find another place.” sirius said, his phone on speaker as he made a sandwich in the kitchen. james eyed him with a confused look on his face, but sirius decided to ignore it.
“really?” you ask, hopeful, you really could take a break from looking for apartments.
“of course. i mean, remus has practically moved into my room, so we just need to take some stuff of his out, but yeah, its no big deal.” james couldn’t help but look at him like he was crazy, remus’ room was right next to his, hell, remus’ room had a bathroom adjoined to his. james was starting to feel faint.
as soon as sirius got off the phone with you, he started blabbing.
“what the fuck, sirius?!” james said loudly, sirius sighed, putting his sandwich harshly on the plate.
“what now? i’m really just trying to eat here”
“your sister? really?” he looked like he was about to faint.
“she’ll pitch in on the rent, don’t worry about that” your brother tried to get him calm.
“oh please, i dont care about that! you know how i feel about sharing spaces” he was getting stressed, he couldn’t help it. “and you know how i feel about your family, i have been telling you to be more careful these past years but you don’t listen at all!”
it really had to be remus’s room? couldn’t peter just switch rooms and lend her his instead?
“she’s not like my parents, and neither is regulus, they didn’t do anything” sirius paused, “do your best friend a favor, will you?” and he knew he was going to.
“she’s not messy or nosy or anything like that, right?” james asked, giving into it fully.
“please, shes a cleaning freak, she’s worse than my mother” he paused. “that’s an exaggeration but she’s not messy at all, i swear. you wont even notice she’s around.” james doubted that, but he knew how much sirius missed his siblings, and he knew how fond sirius was of you.
james swore to himself he was going to get you to leave either way, he didn’t want you there and he didn’t care if he had to pay more rent because of it. he didn’t like you, he never did. even in school, before the whole sirius moving out thing, he felt weird around you. and he remembered that feeling very well, even if it was many years before, he didn’t feel like he could forget.
-
your moving truck arrived at the building a few hours before you, but when you got there, sirius had already arranged your furniture, which did make you a bit emotional. he had even bought a toothbrush, carefully arranging it in the right side of the cabinet, the side that pointed towards the door of the bathroom that led to your room.
the boys came to pick you up at the train station, you recognized them from sirius’ social media. they were everywhere.
you were extremely confused on why all of them had come and pick you up, you were hoping to see your brother standing awkwardly, instead he was there with all of his roommates. you felt like you were a teenage girl again, trying to talk to your brother during lunch, but his friends were always around.
you recognized remus from the photos he sent you, and peter was always on the background of your calls with him baking something.
and then there was james.
james potter. you didn’t know how to feel about him anymore. when your brother first introduced you, you found him attractive, but then you hated him.
when your brother ran away to his home you couldn’t help but hate him.
sure, your house wasn’t the best place in the world, but he took away your older brother, how were you supposed to feel?
as time passed you started to tolerate his presence. now you really don’t care about him, but he sure looked better than he usually did many years before.
-
you felt like you could kill him.
after living with james for a month you found him obnoxious, rude, annoying and a few other things you were too lazy to mention.
but the thing you hated the most was how invasive he could be.
you barged into his room, he was laying there, crumbs all over his red shirt.
"you should learn how to knock" he rolled his eyes when he said it, your brows furrowed.
"you ate my brownies." you had baked a few because it was bring your kid to work day and you were in charge of the snacks.
“they were really good, i thought peter made them” james paused. “he runs a restaurant downtown, you know, he’s always baking and-“
“i’m gonna have to make a whole new batch. you ate like ten of them.” you were about to get a really bad headache depending on his answer.
“i told you, they were really good.”
if you were in a cartoon you would’ve turn red and there would be smoke coming out of your nostrils and your ears. you had no comment.
you hated when he did that, just compliment you so you couldn’t really hate him that much anymore.
he used your shampoo, but it smelled really nice.
he ate your leftovers, but you really know how to order chinese food.
he even wore one of your biggest shirts you bought when you were in college because you were too lazy to buy pijamas and suddenly that shirt was really nice, because, sure, james potter actually listened to avril lavigne.
he even shrunk one of your favorite sundresses, you almost cried that day and he never even apologized.
the list went on and on, and somehow, every compliment of his sounded like he was taunting you, making fun of you right in front of your face and all you could ever do was thank him.
maybe that’s just how you were, polite no matter what. but you sure didn’t want to be polite to james that day.
“no, you don’t get to do that” you felt like you were being crazy.
“what do you mean?” he chuckled. he so did not chuckle.
“you don’t get to compliment me! that doesn’t bring my brownies back!” the word brownie sure sounded stupid in that moment.
“i’ll bake more for you, but they’ll suck, you know that” he actually sat on the bed to argue, how kind of him.
“the kids will probably die if they eat your brownies.”
“you’re feeding children? where do you even work?” he looked so confused and you kept getting angrier.
“do i really look like the kind of person who would eat a hundred billion thousand brownies? god, james, why can’t you just not touch my shit?”
“that’s not even a real number and there were a lot of them! i thought it wouldn’t make a difference!”
“it wouldn’t, if you had eaten one or two, but you ate half of them!”
“oh please, lets put it to a maximum of 25%, alright?” you felt like you were going absolutely insane. he was probably going to get you in a mental hospital and you’d be walking around, looking half dead, murmuring ‘brownies brownies brownies, i want my brownies back’.
you decided to just give up, slamming the door the hardest you could while heading out.
-
as halloween came around, the bickering with james stopped, you didn’t quite know if it was because of the season or you just got used to each other, but you didn’t mind it much. he could be very exhausting when upset, and you were sure you could too.
you loved fall, maybe it was that you were in a great mood. pumpkin flavored stuff, candles and everything else included.
on the day before halloween, you woke up early, you had to go apartment hunting and once you got back you would try and help peter make deserts. even though your ghost shaped cookies look like very sick jellyfish, you wanted to help. it was the most you could do, you weren’t paying rent, sirius wouldn’t let you. and they were going to throw a party on the next day so you wanted to help them get everything settled.
when you got home you were so incredibly tired, you had spent all day out and it was already 9pm. you had to walk so much you felt like you were your feet would fall off because they were used more on that day than they were your entire life. you were more upset you didn’t get to help with the food though, the pain didn’t really matter that much compared to that.
you just wanted to lay on your bed, put your feet up and-
giggles.
there were giggles coming from your room.
and then you remembered it, the neighbors, a few girls that went to the same school as you and were very good friends with your brother were staying over. a big slumber party of some sort, you and james were sleeping in the living room, because, of course, the four girls formed two couples and they would sleep together separately. no actual bed for you tonight! you really liked them though, so you couldn’t complain.
you knocked on the door to your own room and marlene opened it, cheeks flushed, and you could see dorcas on your bed, doing something on her phone.
“hi, lene” you decided to call her that because sirius called her that, it was cute. “sorry for bothering you both, i just wanted to get my pillow, my blanket and change real quick”
“oh sure, come in” she opened the door and you went straight for the drawer under the bed, grabbing a light green heavy one, you usually used that on winter but it was a cold night and you didn’t really want to bother them by taking your usual one from off the bed.
you never changed clothes so fast, tossing them in the laundry bin along with a shit ton of james’ shirts that were on his side of the sink.
“thank you, have a nice night”
you sighed while going to the living room, to find james sitting on the armchair, shirtless and wearing sweatpants, drinking a beer and watching that 70s show (again). you decided to ignore how good he looked and just get some rest because you really didn’t want go think about james in that moment, or ever as a matter of fact.
you lay down on the couch and throw the blanket over your head.
“you know what bums me out about this show?” james says abruptly, like you would really like to know. you grunt, waiting for his answer. “they really didn’t know when to stop it, its only good until what? season-“
“james, im really tired, i just wanna get some rest, please” you get out from under the covers to say that, so he ignores it fully.
“how did apartment hunting go?” he asks, pausing the episode and asking alexa to turn on some playlist with songs a sad dad would listen to.
“shitty, theres not one good place up for rent in this city, its actually sick”
“yeah, thats tough” he pauses for a brief moment “come here” he said, patting his knee. was he asking you to sit on his lap? was he going fucking crazy?
“i’m sorry, what?” you were so confused, since when was he like that to you?
“get up, sit here with me a little.” were you dreaming? was this one of those weird wet dreams you had in high school?
“james, i’m really tired, my back hurts and i really want to lay-“
“i’ll give you a massage, it’s whatever” he answered, a sad puppy look on his face.
you gave in. you walked over to him and sat on the arm of the chair, but he pulled you onto his lap.
“i need to be close to you, if i’m not it’s really awkward and uncomfortable.” some song you didn’t know was playing.
it was slow and sounded old, you didn’t recognize it.
“james come on, im really tired.” you say, smiling though, you didn’t know why he was doing this. he must’ve had an awfully good day.
“just for a bit.” why were his hands on your waist? why were you nervous. you nodded, you felt that if you opened your mouth to speak, nothing would come out.
you could feel his breathing on your neck, his hands roaming your waist as he lead them up to your shoulders.
his hands were on the low of your back, under your shirt. that was certainly new, and that was really not a massage, but you weren’t complaining.
you looked back at him, wide eyed, what was he doing?
once you turned your face to look at him, you couldn’t look away anymore.
maybe it was how nice he looked in the paused lighting of the tv, maybe it was how warm he felt, when the weather was so chilly recently, whatever it was, it hooked you.
he was looking straight into your eyes and you felt so open to him, it was weird to see him like this.
you felt like you were back in school being head over heels for your brother's best friend.
you heard keys jingling outside, so you stepped away, leaving him sat by himself wondering what he did wrong. sirius opened the door abruptly, scaring james, who looked at him confused.
“sorry, mate, the door was … hey! is that my instrumental playlist?” james turned a bit pink.
“yeah, I was just...” he looked at you. “forget it.” he turned it off. you were pretending to be unbothered, looking at something your phone.
you couldn’t quite wrap your mind around what had just happened.
you unfolded the sofa into a bed, getting comfortable on the right side, but then you felt his eyes back on you as sirius went into his own room.
“oh, sorry. do you want the couch? i can sleep on the chair, i don’t really-“
“we can share. don’t worry about it.” you nod at his comment. what had gotten into him? he turned off the lights, leaving the tv on. you were trying to calm down, sleeping in the same place as him, being nervous about it was so silly, but, still, you could feel your heartbeat.
“you wanna pick something?” he interrupted your thoughts, you didn’t want to watch anything. you wanted it to be over as soon as possible.
“no, you can just go back to your thing, i don’t mind it.” you answered. he laid down by your side.
fuck.
you were going to share the damn blanket.
he unpaused the tv, putting the remote on the right arm of the couch, that was your side. his arm went over you, he wrapped his arm around your waist once he went back to his side, though half of it was empty.
was he trying to spoon you? you could feel yourself getting nervous, your body starting to feel hot.
you (stupidly) decided to test his actual intentions with that, turning to your side to see if he’d pull you in, he quickly did.
you could have died right there.
he had never even hugged you before, was he really horny or something? and so you felt it.
‘oh my god.’ you thought to yourself repeatedly.
you felt his hand on your waist, pulling you closer to him, which was basically impossible with your ass already glued to his crotch.
you ended up sleeping like that, waking up in the morning to the ‘are you still watching?’ screen.
the day was fine, and you found out you and James had a lot in common, you ended up talking the entire evening, he spent the whole party next to you.
you slept in separate rooms at night, but you still spent a while with him in his room talking about all sorts of things. you never imagined how you and james could be alike. you never imagined how could be so sweet, funny and nice.
after the fall holidays you and james became closer and closer, when labor day came up you realized how much you liked him and when thanksgiving came around, you realized how you might actually be falling for him.
he didn’t help with that at all. he was always touching you, you even ended up cuddling when you would watch some awful movie in his room.
you never really got if he liked you as a friend or he wanted something more, until christmas.
you carefully placed your gifts under the tree on christmas eve, so in the morning when you saw a little box with your name on it, you were incredibly excited.
everyone was sat on the living room floor, opening gifts. in the little box was an envelope and it was from all of the guys. there was something written in the paper inside but you didn’t want read it in the moment.
“thanks” you smiled, but you didn’t quite know what it meant.
“we all talked and we want you to put your name on the lease.” sirius said quickly, looking at you anxiously.
“like, actually?” you ask, starting to feel extremely happy because you loved living with them.
“yeah” remus answered, smiling.
“thanks, i really appreciate it.” you couldn’t stop smiling, it felt great to know they wanted you there. james, who was sat next to you, gave you a one arm hug and a kiss on the forehead.
“so you’re gonna let me pay rent now?” you ask to your brother, smiling.
“i guess so.” he replied. you knew he was happy too. “gonna get you an actual gift though”
they were planning a big christmas party, they invited some people from work, the girls and some other people you didn’t really know, so you were expecting to spend the night with james. you went all out, put on your favorite red dress which was short but still fancy for the event.
once you were ready, half of the party was already there, including all of james’ coworkers and friends. you sat next to him on the couch, they were all there all talking about something from his work you didn’t really understand.
they were all dressed up too, but what shocked you the most was that james was wearing a suit, sure, his necktie was already loose and the buttons on his shirt too, but he looked amazing.
“can i stay with you fot the rest of the night? i don’t really know anyone here.” you whispered into his ear, nervous about the answer.
“sure” he nodded. “hey, henry” he called for his coworker that was sitting on the couches arm.
“yeah?” the guy answered.
“this is y/n, the friend i was telling you about the other day.” james gestures to you. you can’t help but smile awkwardly and wonder what he said about you.
“oh, hi! pleasure to meet you.” he got up from his chair and shook your hand, smiling at james and nodding. what did that mean?
“pleasure to meet you too.” you smile at him.
“i’m just gonna get some drinks, i’ll ill be right back. do you want something?” james asked you.
“just a soda.” he gets up and heads to the kitchen.
“so, tell me, how are your brownies?” henry jokes, you look at him confused.
“good, i guess, but thats a biased opinion.” you answer, curious on how he knew about your brownies.
“you know, james talks about you all the time.” he comments, you were sure he already had a few drinks.
“really? what does he say?”
“when you first moved in he hated you, you know? he always said it was fun to make you mad and all. but since october he’s been so nice when he talks about you, i personally think he fancies you, but i wouldn’t know. i don’t think he’d tell me if he did, specially because you’re his friends sister and all.” he was rambling but you really enjoyed the part he said about james seeing you as more than a friend, you enjoyed it so much you didn’t even pay attention to what he said after that.
“i doubt it, we just turned into good friends, that’s all.”
“nah, i think he wants to make you into something else.” henry might’ve just made your entire night with that phrase. you couldn’t hide your smile anymore.
“here’s your soda, a beer for you, henry” james handed the drinks and took a sip of his coke. you sat next to him, holding your soda in both of your hands, looking down at it nervously. “did something happen?” he asked you.
“no, just thinking ‘bout something” you answer, looking into his eyes now. he smiles, wrapping his arm around your waist. that makes you so flustered, you feel your entire body getting warmer and that’s just the start of it.
for the rest of the night, he stayed by your side. his hand resting on your waist, thigh, around your shoulders, wherever he wanted them. you could feel your heart beating in your chest for most of the time. he had never done that before, not in public and surely not like that, not in a sexual manner, at least that’s how you identified it, because one thing was a friendly touch, the other was what he was doing.
he made you feel needy, aching for more - he was making you want him.
did he notice? did he ever even perceive how he made you feel? how could he not?
goosebumps covered you once he grazed your thigh for the first time out of five, the fifth was when he finally let his hand stay put there.
it made you feel crazy, it really did.
you didn’t know if he meant it as you took it, but you really hoped he did.
the party was still going around 1am, james had disappeared and you were left sitting on the couch, waiting for him to come back.
you couldn’t stop thinking about him and it made you feel kind of silly. you were a bit disappointed that nothing happened but you sort of expected it. you knew nothing would actually occur, but still, it made you a bit sad. maybe the touch lead you on, but it-
you looked at your phone once it vibrated and you felt the absolute need to scream because of how excited the text made you, but you didn’t.
‘James: come to my room once you read this, please.’
you didn’t think much of it, though you would’ve come if he just asked you to like he normally did.
you finished your drink and knocked on his door. he opened it but didn’t look at you, his eyes were focused on your knees, he looked nervous.he was still wearing his pants and the dress shirt, except it was unbuttoned. shit.
“y/n?” he was looking at you now.
fuck.
“yeah?”
“you look really good tonight.”
“i clean up nice sometimes.” you smile.
“oh please, you always look good” he turned a bit pink once he said it. “and thats a really nice dress” his voice was low when he said it, was he actually hitting on you?
“thank you” you whispered, you couldn’t help but feel anxious as his body got closer to yours.
“you know, i’ve been thinking about something for a while now” he says. you could feel your stomach start to twist and turn because you were so anxious on what he was doing next. you hummed, making sure he would continue what he was saying, but he didn’t.
he just kissed you like it was the easiest thing in the world. he pulled you into his room and closed the door, locking it quickly.
the feeling of his lips on yours was something you craved for a while now, you needed it so much you started to wonder if it was normal for you to need something this much.
you couldn’t stop once it started. his hands were on your hips and you tugged onto his hair desperately.
kissing him is redefining the whole concept of kissing to you, and probably ruining every other sexual experience you could have for the rest of your life.
he pushed you into the door, his hands now on your ass.
“shit” he let out quickly as he stopped kissing you so roughly and started giving you quick pecks. “you have no idea for how long i wanted to do this.” you hummed. “you’re so fucking hot, it makes me crazy.” the praise was making your stomach twist again, a wet spot being formed between your legs.
he carried you with your legs around his body and took you to his bed. the same bed you have used to lay down to watch movies, to just gossip or discuss things, to do whatever.
he sat down and kept you on his lap, straddling him, but you needed more. as he kissed you roughly and messily you would casually rock your hips, causing friction. after you did that a few times he laid you down on the bed, telling you to stop being such a tease, he got on top of you, supporting himself with his knees, one of them between your legs, causing friction and making you more aroused.
when he started playing with the strings that held the dress together, you knew you were done for, so you let him undo the bow, kissing your neck. he was messy, sometimes he would bite and it would send bolts of electricity down your spine.
“james…” you let out as he bit you again.
“tell me” he said, trailing his kisses down to your clavicle. “can i take this off too?” he asked, playing with your bra. you nodded but he didn’t move an inch.
“i need to hear you say it. can i take this off?” he was such a fucking tease, it made you go crazy. he loved to hear your voice, he knew you wanted him to take it off, he just liked to hear you say it.
“yes, please” you struggled to hold in a moan once he started sucking on your neck.
“thank you” he answered, looking back to the hickey he gave you. “hmm, that’s gonna leave a mark, sorry baby” baby? he had never called you that, you hummed as he took off his collared shirt and then proceeded to take off your bra . he groaned at the sight of you, which drove you mad. his growing bulge was exposed.
he was big.
you immediately regretted every single time you had made a small dick joke (sure, there were only 2 times but they did happen).
he was on his knees, towering over you.
“you’re so pretty”, he leaned down to kiss you again, this time more eager than ever. his right hand cupped your jaw as his left one roamed your body, making you ache for more and more. “i really wanna touch you” he whispered and went back to kissing you, his left hand now between your thighs, waiting for permission to move.
“please” you whisper, stopping the kiss briefly. he kept on kissing you as he stimulated you through the fabric of your underwear, but that didn't happen for long, specially because of how wet it was, he needed to touch you, he couldn't help himself. the dress was so hiked up it looked like a shirt, but instead of helping you take it off, he pulled it down a bit, so he had access to your chest. he immediately started kissing around your left tit, making you go absolutely insane. and that combined with the sudden touch to your clit? yeah, you were getting fucked up that night.
he was better than anyone had ever been to you. sucking in your nipple and fingering you slowly, he was making you go crazy, needing him more.
he stopped sucking on your nipple and went back to your neck, his hand not stopping at all. the right one went to cover your mouth as you moaned.
“be quiet, hm? want everyone to listen? don’t wanna stuff that pretty mouth of yours too” his non dominant hand went to your neck, choking you lightly as his other one fucked into you. you were so close to cumming, with his thumb stimulating your clit as his other fingers went in and out of you, he knew that you were close, specially with the way your pussy was tightening around him. “so fucking tight, aren’t you? can’t imagine how you’re gonna feel around my cock” he stopped and took his fingers out, making you whine, missing the feeling of him.
“jameees” you moan, finding the courage in you to pull him in, giving him a kiss.
“take it off”
“what?” you’re confused.
“the dress, i really wanna fuck you in it but i don’t wanna ruin it.” he lets out. “take it off” he sounded like he was ordering you, and you loved it so much, you wanted to give something back to him.
“i will, but can i suck you off first?” you ask, looking at him doe eyed, and how could he say no?
“you really want to?” he asks, furrowed brows, you nod, quickly getting on your knees as he unbuckles his belt, throwing it on the carpet. he got up and pulled his pants down, staying just in his boxers, he climbed back into bed with you, kissing you sweetly.
you were on your knees in front of him, pulling his cock out of his underwear, stroking it lightly then kissing the tip. you take him in your mouth, using your hands to stroke what couldn’t fit, which, frankly, was about a bigger portion of it. he was the biggest you ever had.
“fuck” he groaned at the movements you were making, using his left hand to get strands of hair out of your face, as his right one supported him on the bed. he was trying not to thrust into your mouth but you were making it so hard. “your mouth was made for me, baby” he whispered, looking into your eyes. his free hand went to your neck, choking you just a bit, as your head bobbed up and down, taking as much as possible.
“so good, your mouth feels so goddamn good honey” he groaned as he finished the sentence and you used your non dominant hand to cup his balls. he was moaning a bit and it was the hottest thing you’ve ever seen or heard, though you were sure you would see hotter things that same night. he started thrusting lightly, he couldn’t help himself, specially with how good your mouth made him feel.
“stop” he ordered you, and so you did, a pop sound being made as you stopped sucking and looked up at him.
“did i do something wrong?” you ask, brows furrowed. his hand hasn’t left your neck, and so he pulls you in by it. his tongue went straight in your mouth, he needed to taste him on your lips.
“i wanna fuck you” he said, looking into your eyes, waiting for any kind of response.
“yes. please do” you quickly say, kissing him quickly.
“the dress” he remembers and you quickly take it off, not stopping the staring for a second.
“want you down on all fours” he says, getting on his knees. you do as he commands, getting in an arch position as he’s on his knees behind you. he can see that you still haven’t taken off your underwear, he bites on your ass cheek and then pulls it down with his teeth.
“you don’t mind if i keep this, don’t you?” he asks, helping you take it off fully. “it’s already ruined”
“it’s yours” you look back at him, he’s smirking like the devil. he throws your underwear into his bedside drawer.
“gotta keep it safe” he whispers. you can feel his bulge through his boxers as he leans in to kiss your neck, you whine, needing him more.
“patience, i’m gonna give it to you, sweetheart” his right hand gave your ass a smack. “up” he said, signaling for you to arch your back even more. as you do so, he groans, pressing his covered member against your wet cunt.
“you’re so pretty like this, all for me?” he asked, using his hand to play with your clit.
“y-yes, all yours” you said, trying not to whine mid sentence.
“good girl. mine” he gave your shoulder a quick peck. “gonna put it in now, okay? tell me if you wanna stop” he took his dick from out of his boxers and pumped it a few times. you could’ve fainted once you felt his tip lined up to your entrance.
he went in slowly, he was way to big for you. every time you thought he was done, there would still be more of him left.
“jaaames” you would whine
“just a bit left; don’t worry, princess” once he was fully inside of you, you felt amazing, like you were in heaven. “you’re so fucking tight, ‘feels so good” he said, trying to to groan, his voice was raspy.
if took a few thrusts for you to get used to his size, but as soon as he picked up a pace, you were a mess. you couldn’t hold in your sounds, the way he was stimulating your clit was absolutely killing you.
“be fucking quiet” he demanded with a groan, “you want everyone to know who you belong to, huh?” he didn’t stop, he just went quicker as a matter of fact.
“fuck!” you squealed as he pinched your clit, his thrusts began to be more rough, you couldn’t even focus. you’re eyes kept rolling back, your mind was fully blank and the only thing that was coming out of your mouth in that moment was a mixture of james, fuck, shit and a few other curse words.
you were in ecstasy.
“you like this, don’t you?” he was grunting lowly in between every few thrusts. you were so close, you felt your high coming to you, the way he was fucking you was not helping with you trying to hold it.
“james ohmygod james, im gonna cum” you say, trying not to stumble over your words.
“ask nicely and i’ll let you” he said, stopping the stimulation on your clit and thrusting harder. he was close too, the way your tight pussy would clench around him was making him go insane.
“please let me cum, james. need it so bad” you blurted out in between whining and moaning. he grins and goes back to stimulating you.
“good girl, do it” he went faster and didn’t stop playing with your clit. your eyes rolled back and you let it go.
your walls clench tight around him, he didn’t stop as you made a mess all over his dick.
as you finished, his thrusts only got harder, you were feeling so overstimulated and you felt like he was close too.
“fuck, sweetheart. gonna cum inside you, that’s alright?” you moaned in answer.
his hips stuttered and you felt his cock twitch spilled inside of you, his juices mixing with yours.
he made sure he got rid of every single drop.
your legs were shaking as he pulled out and tucked himself back into his underwear, you collapsed on the bed and he laid down next to you.
“wanna go back to the party?” he jokes, looking into your eyes.
“shut up” you reply, looking at the ceiling of his room.
“gonna clean you up, okay?” james assured you as he threw you a shirt of his that was under the bed. you put it on but pulled him closer to you.
“okay, but just stay with me for a while if that’s alright.” you asked.
“always” he pressed a kiss onto your forehead and you knew that this was not going to be a one time thing.

You gladly went to the Godswood to see Alicent after stopping by the kitchen for some breakfast for the two of you. She would be excited to hear of your adventure. You entered the Godswood, happy to see Alicent. Her expression didn’t match yours. You lowered your extended hand of bread.
“What did you do?” she asked you.
“I’m sorry, what?”
“My father has made some worrying allegations about you.” She continued when you were still confused. “Were you with your uncle last night?”
“Oh, yes. I was just about to tell you of it. Daemon showed Rhaenyra and I the city.”
“Rhaenyra was with you?”
“Yes. It was thrilling. Well, except for the pleasure house.”
“So you were there?”
“Unfortunately. I could have done without seeing that part of the ci— I’m sorry, did you say worrying allegations? What, that we left the castle? Who hasn’t done that before? And it was my fir—”
“That you fucked Daemon in a pleasure house.”
The bread dropped from your hand. “How dare you accuse me something so serious? Do you know what that could do to me?”
“Do you know what you’ve done to yourself?”
You got closer to her. “Do you want me to bend over right here and prove to you that I’m a virgin? Would that make you happy? Debasing your Princess even further. How could you even believe such gossip?”
“My father is not a gossip.”
“Then he has been misled, I don’t care. But it was impossible for him to witness such a thing.”
“Why is that?”
“Because it didn’t happen!”
“He was told th—”
“Told? So someone made these claims and your father gladly believed them? You believed them?”
“I only want to help you, Laelara.”
“By lying about me? Letting your father lie about me? Alright, yes, maybe it was a mistake to follow him into a brothel but neither Rhaenyra or I ever expected to go there. I could never get home without my escort so we followed him. Is it a crime to follow someone?”
“So you did not?”
“Must I truly refute that? Where is my father?”
You wiped at tears as you started to leave the Godswood. Alicent was on your heels, watching every move. Her face wrinkled when a maester stopped you to give you a tea they freshly prepared. You took the mug and marched straight to your father’s chamber. He jumped when you threw open the doors, walking right up to your father. You threw the cup down, shattering it.
“How dare you?”
“Laelara…”
“No! How dare you listen to that snake and let him accuse me of losing my virtue instead of coming to me first. I confided in Daemon that I was scared about Rhaenyra’s marriage and my eventual own. He took us to a whorehouse so I could watch freaks and forget my concerns for a single night. I saw a show to get over you murdering my mother! How could you think he would do that me, that I would do that to myself knowing the consequences?”
Viserys bowed his head. “I never doubted you would spoil your virtue before marriage. And I already asked Daemon. He was the most serious I’d ever seen him in his life as he told me the truth.”
“Then why would give me a tea?”
“It wasn’t meant for you,” he whispered. “The castle will talk whether they believe you or not. I’ve already discussed it with Rhaenyra. If the rumor spreads past us, you cannot be suspected. Otto only heard word of a princess, not the princess. The Grand Maester must have given the task to someone else.”
“Rhaenyra would never do such a thing.”
“It doesn’t matter! It doesn’t matter. Everything is about perception and this is the choice I’m making. Daemon will be gone for a while and your sister is getting married before the season’s end. If I don’t, people will begin to realize your fertility complications aren’t real. And they will think it’s because you wanted freedom to fuck anyone. This is the only way to see the end of this matter.”
“You know what needs to be done about who started these lies, don’t you?”
You didn’t wait for your father’s response, simply leaving instead. Alicent tried to hug you, apologizing for the doubt and stress. You barely patted her back. It was easier to drop the matter than stay mad. Besides, her father was being fired. You had something to celebrate.
A part of you felt bad that it was at the expense of your sister who confessed in private to you that she did, in fact, have sex with Ser Criston. You didn’t feel as bad after hearing that but you still felt strange as you family traveled to Driftmark. Rhaenyra was to marry Laenor Velaryon. You remembered the last time you visited your cousin. You were pretty sure he had an affinity for men.
Although, you supposed that if he did it would make him more tolerable to Rhaenyra’s idea of sleeping with other people. Maybe he was the best option for everyone. He and Rhaenyra got along well enough. The two of them had been at the beach all day with each other.
At least that was what you were told. You weren’t with them. You were home in the Keep. You were happy to be away from everyone for a little bit. After what you were accused of, you were still bothered. Not at the notion of Daemon but at the notion of what you were thought to have done.
Even though she apologized, Alicent was distant. You figured as much. Her father did get fired. He was at fault but you expected her to still feel some sort of way. However, being at the Keep because you were sick was not how you wanted to be away from everyone.
You had been confined to your room by the Septa and brought tea every few hours. From your room, you could see Alicent in the Godswood. She was talking to that one man with the bad foot. It took you a minute to remember Larys Strong’s name.
Eventually, looking at Larys and Alicent chat became boring. You went back to your bed and waited for another raven from your family. Another raven never came. Your family came back with good news. Good news and the very fast notion of a wedding. It was going to be a seven-day feast. Despite the excitement and happiness, Alicent was still a bit cold. Every time you tried to talk with Ser Criston, she was watching.
You just needed a moment alone with your sister’s lover. Everyone needed to be on the same page but the knight seemed to avoid you like the plague. You didn’t get a moment alone with Criston before the first day of the wedding celebrations. You sat at the family table in the back of the hall, bored out of your mind.
Suitors kept congratulating Rhaenyra on her marriage all while looking at you. It wasn’t going to happen. It was enjoyable to see Laenor and Rhaenyra get along. The plan was brilliant and Laenor was all for it. You gladly switched seats so he could be closer to Rhaenyra and you could speak to his lover, Joffrey. He gave you a smile.
“Do you see that man over there?” You pointed him towards Ser Criston’s direction.
“Rhaenyra’s?” he whispered.
You nodded. If you couldn’t talk to Ser Criston then maybe Joffrey could. When the dancing started, he could go talk to the knight. Joffrey left the table when Daemon appeared. You both didn’t look at each other, choosing to reach for cups instead. It was almost time for the celebration. Your father stood up to start the welcome speech.
“...with House Targaryen and Hous—”
You followed your father’s gaze, trying to figure out why he stopped. Alicent was announced. Your eyes squinted at her choice of gown. Since she joined with your House there was one color Alicent never really wore anymore. But there she was, walking down the steps in a gown of green. The color of the Hightower beacon when their banners go to war.
She didn’t tear her gaze away from you. You didn’t know what happened this time. But you were done with the misunderstandings, the lack of respect, and the confusion. If Alicent Hightower wanted a war, you would give her one.
Viserys’ speech ended, signalling the start of the dance. Laenor and Rhaenyra were to dance first because it was their wedding. Since you were the heir, you were to dance second. Naturally, you took Joffrey as your partner. He left you the minute others started to dance so he could find Ser Criston. You looked around in pursuit of a different partner. Daemon stopped dancing with Laena Velaryon to dance with you. While you smiled, he just looked somber.
“Causing you discomfort was not my intention.”
“I never suspected such, Daemon.”
The two of you talked and danced as if no one else existed. He was a very good dancer, light on his feet. You were actually enjoying yourself. Daemon put his hands on your waist to lift you for the jump. You landed on the ground without a sound at all.
“I’m going to marry Lady Laena,” Daemon said.
“That is good, Uncle. I would apologize for Lady Rhea’s death but we both know your feelings. Is Laena for love or political arrangement?”
“We all must play politics if you are to marry for love.”
“You would help me, Daemon?”
“Why does everyone seem to doubt how much I care for my family? I kneeled to you, my Queen. I reluctantly kneel to my brother despite his refusal to make me his Hand. I suggested the marriage to Laenor for my niece’s sake, knowing the boy’s nature. I’d do anything for you all.”
“I hope to meet a man like you someday.”
“I will pray for quicker than someday.”
“Do you think I can actually fi—”
You were pushed into Daemon, hands squished between his chest and your body. He was quick to protect you. Everyone was moving away from a fight happening in the middle of the dance floor. You gasped when you turned around. Ser Criston was beating Joffrey.
“No, Laenor, don’t,” you said a moment too late after you cousin was backhanded by Ser Criston.
You screamed as some of the crowd ran. Daemon picked you up, handing you to Ser Harwin Strong who carried you out of the crowd like you were merely a sack of potatoes. At least you knew his last name rang true. No one could stop Criston as he continued to beat Joffrey until he was dead.
The feast was called off. The celebration wasn’t happening anymore. Rhaenyra and Laenor got married that night with only the family to witness it. You apologized over and over again to Laenor, knowing how much it hurt to witness a loved one die.
The years went by, relatively calmly. Laenor was around enough to keep up appearances. Rhaenyra had children to act as potential heirs. Daemon was watching over Pentos with Laena and their two daughters. You… You had no husband, still. You had to admit that with the birth of Alicent’s third child, Aemond, you stopped being so excited in your search.
It became something that was always pushed off for other duties. You couldn’t think much about that now. You were in the room with Rhaenyra as she gave birth to her third child. After your mother, you refused to leave your sister alone for all of her births. The entire castle joked that for roughly nine months you were more midwife than future queen.
You sighed as you handed a freshly cleaned baby to your sister. “It’s a good thing I am heir.”
Rhaenyra hung her head down. That had become a code. Once again, the fine hair on the baby’s head was black instead of white. Just like Jacaerys and Lucerys. You knew that your sister and Laenor had tried to have a single child to keep up appearance but it never worked. You rolled your eyes when your cousin stepped into the room.
“Where are you going, Princess?” he asked as you took off your apron and readied yourself to leave.
“To prepare a tour for myself since you two seem so hellbent on m— I’m going on a walk, Laenor. I just want fresh air. This was Rhae’s longest birth. Besides, Jace and Luke picked a dragon’s egg for the baby. I should check it for them.”
You met your nephews coming back from the dragon pit. They smiled when you nodded in approval at their choice. You patted your nephews’ heads.
“Go give it to your baby brother and then go play with your uncles. Aegon an—”
“We know, Aunt Laelara. Aegon already told us to go back to the dragon pit.”
You stopped them before they could fully run off. “Boys, be sensitive. Aemond is still struggling with dragons.”
“What is the issue? You don’t have a dragon and it does not bother you.”
“We are all born different, Luke. It does not bother me but it might bother him. Just be sensitive.”
They reluctantly agreed and ran off. You prayed to the Old Gods and New that your children wouldn’t be nearly as crazy as those two boys. But still, you loved your nephews. The same way you loved your cousins turned nieces since Laenor was married to Rhaenyra. You’d have to write to Laena and Daemon. Laena was due to give birth any day now. Just as you had sent a congratulatory letter and egg with the births of Baela and Rhaena, you needed to send another for the new baby.
~~
Laena Targaryen was not having an easy birth. Daemon was in the room, watching everything with concern. The midwives had turned Laena on all fours like he suggested. It did aid in the process but it was still difficult. He might not have loved Laena but Daemon did care for her. Seeing her in pain brought him no bit of comfort.
Daemon remembered the book. You had sent the midwife book with the first birth but it wasn’t necessary. Rhaena and Baela had no complications. He must have put the book somewhere. Perhaps the library. He brushed off the main physician coming to talk to him so he could go find that dumb book. Daemon paused seeing Rhaena and Baela at the doorway. He took both of their shoulders.
“You girls shouldn’t be seeing this. Bed, let’s go. It’ll be fine in the morning.”
Daemon made sure they were in their rooms before going to get the book. His eyes widened when he returned. Where was Laena?

Unexpected Resemblance
Hi people! So here we have my first Avatar one-shot. Enjoy!
Focused on Neytiri and her sons, like an additional scene to the movie.
Neytiri noticed the silence and loneliness leave the tent when, without a doubt, her sons had just arrived. Turning to them, glad to have their company again after all day apart, she noticed the tired expressions of Neteyam and Lo'ak. The youngest son's face certainly showed a little more protest and indignation.
-What happened to you two? - she questioned before saying anything else.
-It's okay, mom, don't worry - Neteyam soon made sure to dismiss any concerns from her, being aware of how difficult that change had been, especially for his mother.
-Stop being a liar, Neteyam, it's mom, I think it's okay for us to say that all this is being a pain in the ass! - Lo'ak preferred to vent, letting his thoughts out in a rather frustrated way.
-Don't talk like that, you fool! - his older brother thought it best to correct him.
-Don't lie, my son - she asked him, undoing the discussion that could certainly go on for much longer - be honest, Neteyam, tell me what upset you two.
-Well, the truth? It's just that all this, living here, is very different, it's very difficult - the eldest decided to talk about what he was thinking too, more gently than his brother - all this thing of breathing underwater for a long time, I lost how many times I thought I was going to die, and the whole concentrating and focusing thing, I can focus, I know I can, you know those moments before I shoot an arrow, I know how to do it really well, but it's nothing compared to holding my breath.
-You didn't mention the ilus - Lo'ak chuckled humorlessly - they just don't accept us, not to mention everyone laughing at us, or calling us a bunch of things, forest boys, baby tail, freak, do we really have to go through all that?
Before answering, Neytiri just sighed, touching his face and then Neteyam's. It was clear the frustration they felt, at least in that, she was not alone, it was a feeling shared by the whole family, but perhaps on the same level by the three who were there.
-I know it's hard, but your father said why we had to do this, it's a different way to protect our people, but we did our part, with our sacrifice - she explained, hoping to calm the boys down somehow.
-We know why we came here, but it doesn't make adapting any easier, mom - Neteyam sighed.
-I know, you need time, I need it too - their mother added - be patient with yourselves, as I needed to be one day.
-Patient about what? - Lo'ak asked, very curious.
-I didn't want to laugh at your expense, but everything you told me reminds me a lot of your father - Neytiri explained herself better, allowing herself to laugh a little.
-Dad? How? - Neteyam wanted more explanations.
-Ah I understand, you knew him as the great Toruk Makto, the warrior who saved all of the sky people but before all that, he was like a baby when I met him, completely awkward, not knowing what to do - she told, remembering all this.
-I know it was you who taught him the customs of our people, but they never told many details, I remember the story of you trying to kill him - the oldest commented.
-Yes, that's true, but later I started to understand him better, after getting very irritated with him for making so many mistakes in the lessons - Neytiri continued telling - the first time he got on a pa'li he had a big fall and I didn't I couldn't help but laugh, not to mention how he spoke wrong all the time, I also teased him by calling him an idiot, more out of anger than to piss him off.
-Does he still remember all this? -the youngest raised the question, not being able to associate the young man his mother was describing with the warrior who was the father he knew.
-He does remember, and he understands your side, you could talk to him about it - she suggested, knowing that for her boys, at that moment, this was not an easy task.
-I'm not sure - Neteyam confessed, somewhat embarrassed.
-I know they don't want to disappoint you, but talking would be good, really - their mother insisted.
-He's changed a lot, you know? - Lo'ak shrugged absently - from when we were kids...
-No, until recently he laughed with us, played, told jokes, asked about our adventures, but always asking us to be careful - Neteyam thought it best to add, correcting his brother a little - when the sky people returned, everything changed for us, Dad changed, turned us into... something else.
-Ah Neteyam ...- his mother wrapped him in a hug before he said anything else - you're doing well, you two are.
-Maybe Lo'ak needed more common sense - his older brother managed to joke, after receiving the comforting gesture.
-Shut up... - complained the youngest.
-You two are doing well - Neytiriu corrected and hugged Lo'ak too - we will overcome all this, somehow, let's find something to help us deal with all the new stuff, being together is still a comfort in the midst of it all, isn't it?
The boys nodded, smiling gratefully at her.
"If you need to talk, I'll be here for you, always," she offered.
"I know, Mom, thanks," Lo'ak replied.
-Thank you - said Neteyam - and you too, I know it's hard, we miss the forest, grandma, if you need to talk to me about these things, I'm here too.
-I am very grateful to Eywa for having such thoughtful sons - she smiled at the boys once more - we have a deal then, something that I think can even stay between us.
-Without the girls knowing? - Lo'ak found it strange that their sisters were excluded from the conversation.
-They're fine, you need your mother more now, as much as you don't want to admit it - Neytiri ended up laughing.
-I'm in - Neteyam accepted immediately.
-Me too - Lo'ak laughed at the situation, but agreeing that it was a very good idea.
Interrupting their conversation, the object of all discussion arrived. Jake glanced at his sons and wife, slightly suspicious, but then he smiled at them.
-It's good to see you're well - he commented on the condition - did anything interesting happen?
-No, nothing at all - Lo'ak was the first to answer - just us talking to Mom about when you were her student.
-I remember that - their father decided to get into the subject - I was terrible, a complete walking disaster, a bit like now, the tsurak is not easy at all, but for everything I've learned and done in the past, things are simpler, I guess.
-Yeah, maybe so - Neteyam replied quietly.
The life they knew had been left behind, but perhaps the father he knew before the war changed him could return in that different environment.

Abandoned (Jay Park AU)
Tumblr media
- Shared Responsibilities -
Sophia woke up the next morning with the worst hangover she had ever experienced. Her head was pounding, reminding her regularly of last nights’ events.
Jay, who looked nervous because she was the only woman amongst men. How he was adamant about taking her not only home but also up to her apartment. How he fumbled with her zipper, trying to open her dress. His fingertips grazing her skin, setting it on fire.
Sophia had texted Jun-Seo under the pretense of her having some questions when in reality she was just curious about Jay. Who was he? Where was he from? How did he meet her father?
She doubted Jun-Seo would be willing to answer her those questions but he was the only person she could ask.
When she didn’t get a response back she immediately regretted having sent those texts in the first place.
She had gotten no instructions, didn’t know where to go and what to do. Despite being Korean, here she was a stranger. Didn’t know her way around. And had no connections.
Her mother never talked about her past. Her life seemingly started when she moved to Seattle. At that time Sophia hadn’t even been born yet. From time to time she would ask her mother about her life in Seoul but her mother would always find a way to avoid answering those questions.
Looking out the window, she grabbed the phone tightly, softly mumbling her mother’s cell phone number. She knew it by heart, and because everything happened so quickly, Sophia didn’t have time to tell her mother she was in Seoul.
At least that was what Sophia told herself. In reality she was sure her mother would freak out if she knew where her daughter was. Before Sophia went off to college she wanted to take a trip to Seoul but her mother was categorically against it.
“Hey, mom!”
‘Soph! I was just thinking about you! Haven’t talked to you in a while. Let’s meet for lunch tomorrow!’
“Can’t.”
‘Things too busy at the hospital?’
“Mom, I had to leave unexpectedly. I’m in Seoul right now.”
Silence. A silence so deafening, Sophia removed the phone from her ear several times just to check if her mother had hung up on her.
‘What are you doing in Seoul?’
“I met someone and he told me that my father died and that he needed me to come to Seoul with him.”
‘Sophia!’
Her mother cried out into the phone and Sophia held the phone a few inches away from her ear.
‘How do you even know they’re telling the truth?’
“I saw his picture.”
Her mother sighed. Sophia knew she wasn’t disappointed, only concerned. She knew her daughter would one day want to find answers, and that she couldn’t shield her from the truth forever. Still, she wanted to be the one who told her daughter everything and not leave it up to some stranger.
“He was nice enough to find an apartment for me to stay and helped me move in. And I’m being careful. I promise I’ll be back soon.”
Her mother’s voice cracked as she began saying something but stopped herself and advised her daughter to always be on the lookout.
‘Stay safe and don’t trust anybody easily, do you hear me?’
“Yes. Listen, mom, I gotta go! I promise I’ll text you later, okay?”
Sophia hung up the phone, still looking out the window. People hurried over the crosswalks, meeting their friends and loved ones, walking to and from work or just enjoying their free time.
In that moment she contemplated whether she made a mistake following Jay here. Even though last night was a success she feared that it could be only the beginning of something much bigger.
Before she had a chance to check her phone again, a knock on the door startled her.
“It’s Jay.”
His muffled voice rung from the other side. Sophia panicked, and instinctively the first thing she did was to check her reflection in the mirror. She shook her head at the woman staring back at her and quickly opened the door.
“Good morning!”
She chirped, but Jay paid her no attention.
“Did you talk to someone last night?”
“Yeah, a bunch of people. You were there!”
“When I wasn’t with you.”
“Oh, yeah. There was a guy! Lee .. Lee something.”
“Was it Lee Ho-Seok?”
“Yes! Exactly. I meant to ask you about him. Do you know him!”
“Yes, and you need to stay away from him.”
Jay said, turning away from Sophia, lightly shaking his head.
“He was flirting with me, I think.”
“Doesn’t surprise me. What else did he say?”
“Nothing much, really. He just introduced himself, said that he saw me talking to his father and that he hoped to see me again soon.”
Jay snorted, laughing sarcastically. His expression was unreadable, yet Sophia sensed that him and Lee Ho-Seok weren’t exactly best friends.
“Who is he exactly?”
“His family was the second most influential mafia family in Korea while your father was still alive. I’m sure the dynamics have already changed despite you being here. Anyway, in the past, his father always talked about how the two families should unite and what a shame it was that Jinyoung didn’t have a daughter to marry off to his son.”
“Oh.”
“I’m sure they’re plotting something. In the past his father always talked about how they’re vulnerable on their own but united they would be unbeatable. Jinyoung wasn’t excited about his friend’s idea so he made sure to become stronger than everyone else so he would never need to rely on anyone.”
“And now?”
“That’s none of your concern.”
Jay waved her off, quickly changing the topic. But Sophia could now see the dark circles underneath his eyes. The worried expression on his face, the burden resting on his shoulders. Surely it wouldn’t be easy for him to defend his position without being related to Jinyoung. Which reminded Sophia of …
“How did you meet Jinyoung anyway?”
His gaze fell upon hers and for a moment he considered telling her. Not many people knew. Jay was ashamed. Not only did his mother abandon him without a reason, she never tried to look for him like Jinyoung looked for Sophia.
“What did I tell you about asking too many questions?”
He replied harshly. Only then did Sophia notice the big grocery bag leaned against the counter.
Jay followed her gaze, clearing his throat.
“I figured you’d get lost if you went shopping on your own. But you probably should memorize a few places.”
There it was again. The fear rising in Sophia. Jay spoke in such vague terms that she didn’t really know how long she would have to stay here. The lack of his communication skills had started to irritate her but before she could bring it up, Jay had disappeared again.
Frustrated, she texted Jun-Seo.
I demand answers. Fast. Otherwise I’m leaving.
Maybe it was stupid to threaten someone who worked with the mafia but if they thought they could keep her hostage they were gravely mistaken.
Jun-Seo texted back a few hours later, completely ignoring her question and talking about last night’s event instead.
You must have left a lasting impression on the other bosses last night at dinner. They are impressed.
So is my job done here? Can I leave?
No, not yet. Didn’t Jay come to you? Didn’t he tell you?
Sophia furrowed her eyebrows.
Don’t take this the wrong way but Jay sucks at communicating.
I’ll be over soon to brief you then.
Brief me? About what?
But Jun-Seo didn’t reply, so Sophia was left wondering until he stood in front of her apartment door. She let him in, offered him coffee and they sat both down, awkwardly staring into their coffee cups.
“Did anything happen last night?”
“Like I said, you impressed everyone!”
“The only thing Jay said when he was here was that the dynamics have changed because Jay is not the most influential mafia boss right now.”
“No. That would be the Lee family now. He talked to you last night, didn’t he? Lee Ho-Seok?”
“Do these people really expect me to get married into their family?”
“Ho-Seok’s father couldn’t convince Jinyoung but Jay’s status is weakened and he can’t shut down every offer.”
“He wouldn’t!”
“I don’t know. He’s not very talkative.”
“I’ve been meaning to ask you. How well do you know Jay? Tell me everything you know about him!”
Jun-Seo’s expression changed instantly. Curiosity replaced the gloomy look on his face. When he looked at Sophia, he realized he couldn’t get out of this without at least giving her some information.
Clearing his throat, he began talking but stopped himself right away, looking at Sophia sternly.
“What I’m about to tell you must stay between us. Jay can’t know that I’ve talked to you about him. Understood?”
Sophia nodded and mentally prepared herself.
“… and that’s how he ended up leaving with Jinyoung.”
“Oh my God, that’s horrible. What mother would just leave her child alone? And he never tried to contact her?”
“No. Jinyoung kept him pretty busy. But even if he didn’t, I don’t think Jay would go looking for her. Jinyoung made sure he became part of his family instantly and treated him like such. I don’t think Jay ever missed his mother.”
At least now Sophia knew why Jay was so fidgety and monosyllabic with her. Growing up he was rarely around women.
“What about a girlfriend? Does he have one?”
“No.”
“Of course he doesn’t!”
Jun-Seo’s gaze was glued on Sophia, like he was trying really hard to understand the reasoning behind her questions.
“What about ex-girlfriends. How many are there?”
“He’s right! You’re way too noisy.”
“I’m just trying to get to know you two! I’m all alone here, you’re the only two people I can rely on. Is it wrong of me to want to know you better?”
“You’re good! A natural.”
“I’m not bullshitting you!”
“These are useless information, why don’t you take a look at that instead.”
With that he placed a thick folder on the table. Jun-Seo’s face turned serious again. Sophia carefully picked up the folder and opened it, skimming through its contents.
“Since you’re the only heir, everything he had is now yours.”
“What am I supposed to do with all of that? I’m a doctor for God’s sake!”
“You need to manage it of course. Jay and I will help you but on paper it looks like you’re the boss.”
“Oh no. No, no! I can’t!”
“I’m afraid you have no choice. It was hard enough getting some bosses’ approval in the first place since they’re categorically against a female mafia boss, but Jay appeased them by ensuring them he would run the operations.”
“So I’m just a figurehead? That’s even worse!”
“A lot is riding on you doing your part in this business. Lots of people’s lives are at stake. The rules within this community are strict. And not meant to be broken.”
Sophia buried her face in her hands, massaging her temples.
“So what you’re asking of me is to forget about my life in Seattle, move here permanently to please some old fuckers? Is that it?”
Now it was Jun-Seo’s turn to sigh in frustration.
“Language, please! Imagine what would happen if you said that in presence of a boss!”
“You didn’t answer my question.”
“The short answer? Yes! The longer version? We can’t always choose the family we grow up in.”
“I think I’m going to be sick!”
“I have somewhere to be but I’ll be back later. There’s a lot more we need to discuss.”
With that, Jun-Seo turned around and left, leaving a dumbfounded Sophia behind.
While she packed away the groceries Jay brought, she thought about how to get outside the country undetected, and if Jay had already put her name on the no-fly-list.

Fic: A Woman Scorned - Part 17
Fic: A Woman Scorned - Part 17
Pairing: Billy Russo x Reader
Rating: R for language and smut.
Words: ~3300 words.
Summary: You’ve been sleeping with Billy Russo for a few months now. Knowing his aversion to emotional commitments, you’re satisfied with your clandestine arrangement until you catch him having dinner with Dinah Madani one night. Then it finally dawns on you. It’s not that he doesn’t want to commit, he just doesn’t want to commit to *you*.
Billy may think he knows you, but he has no idea what he’s just lost…
Part 1   Part 2   Part 3   Part 4   Part 5   Part 6   Part 7   Part 8   Part 9   Part 10   Part 11   Part 12   Part 13   Part 14   Part 15  Part 16
Part 17
Billy couldn’t stop gawking at you, wondering how it was possible you grew more beautiful each time he saw you. The red wrap dress you were wearing accentuated all your curves, and it took every bit of willpower he had not to rip it off of you and fuck you senseless right then and there. Unfortunately, he had to behave himself. Caravan was a pretty bouji place that had recently been labelled as one of the hottest restaurants in Manhattan and he had to pull a few strings to get a last-minute reservation for tonight. But seeing the smile on your face when you realized this was where you were dining had been completely worth all the hassle.
As the hostess guided the two of you to your table, he noticed a few assholes at the bar admiring you from afar. Immediately he snaked his arm around your waist to draw you in closer. You were his. If he could he’d pluck out every one of those fuckers’ eyes so they never made the mistake of looking at you again. Better yet, he’d keep you locked behind closed doors. Of course you wouldn’t agree to anything like that because you were too goddamn independent for your own good.
“What’s wrong?” you asked, taking a seat at your designated table.
Billy’s attention returned to your face as he followed suit, his gaze inhaling you in. “You look too hot. Too many assholes staring at you,” he grumbled.
The worried look on your face was replaced with a beaming smile, one that made his cock twitch.
“You’re being ridiculous” you remarked, scanning the menu.
His eyes drifted down to your chest, the swell of your soft, supple breasts just begging to be kissed and licked by him.
“Stop staring at my boobs, Billy,” you chastised even as a small smile graced your lips. “This is a proper first date. You can’t just ogle me like that. You have to behave like a gentleman.”
He quirked his eyebrow. “Sweetheart, I’ve never been that.”
“Well, try,” you ordered.
The waitress came by with the bottle of red wine you’d requested and poured some in both of your glasses. He noticed the redhead giving him a friendly smile, her green eyes lingering on him for a second too long. Fine, yeah, she may have been hot but she wasn’t you. No one was. So while he would have happily slipped her his number in the past, now the idea of being with someone who wasn’t you no longer excited him.
Once she left, he took the opportunity to move a few inches closer to you. What he really wanted was to get on his knees and bury his head between your legs, but something told him eating you out in in the crowded restaurant wouldn’t go over very well with you.
“I think she likes you.”
Hand propped on the back of your chair, he started playing with your hair. “Who?”
“Our waitress. She didn’t look at me once, her eyes were on you the entire time.”
He leaned in, ecstatic at the thought of you acting possessive. Even though you’d confessed to having feelings for him, Billy still worried you were ready to bolt at any moment. To see you jealous meant you genuinely cared and he didn’t have to worry about you leaving him. “She’s not my type. I have my eyes on someone else.”
You made a show of looking around the restaurant. “Oh, is Madani here too?”
“Funny,” he retorted, taking your hand in his.
“Your ginger’s lucky. I’m dressed way too nice or I’d take my knife and stab her with it.”
He smirked. “You’re vicious when you’re jealous.”
“I’m not jealous. I just don’t like bad service.”
“Bullshit.”
“Billy, you’re hot. You know that. All the women here are checking you out. If I freaked out every time someone did that, I’d have a breakdown.”
He wanted to destroy the fucking world at the thought of someone even looking at you but apparently you were simply ambivalent about him. “So it’s that easy for you? Your brain tells you to turn off a feeling and your heart just does it?” Even to his own ears he sounded bitter. “Guess you’re not all that invested in me.”
Your eyebrow quirked up, apparently surprised by his edgy tone. “Do you want me to go nuts?”
“Just want you to give a damn.”
“You think I don’t?” you snapped. “Every time she looks at you I want to tear her hair out. Even though the rational part of me knows she’s probably just flirting with you because it’s part of her job or she’s hoping for big tips. Or maybe she really does want to fuck you. Either way, I want to punch her across the face. Happy?” You gulped down your wine.
Grinning, he squeezed your hand. “Then why not just tell me that? Why act like you don’t care?”
The agitated expression on your face was replaced with tenderness, your eyes soft. “Just because I don’t have a jealous fit doesn’t mean I don’t care. I just…” You exhaled a sigh, and he sensed this was difficult for you. “I express my emotions differently than you.”
“I noticed. You put on an act while holding everything in.”
“Yeah, I guess.”
“But I want you, the real you, not the version everyone else sees.”
“It’s not that easy, Billy.”
He brought your palm to his lips. “I’d never told anyone about my mother.”
“You didn’t tell me either,” you pointed out.
“You found out anyway, and I’m so fucking glad you did. Otherwise I wouldn’t have realized I could be real with you.” He placed a tender kiss on your skin. “I don’t want to hide anything from you, Y/N.”
“Really?”
“Yeah.”
“Then tell me about William Rawlins.”
Your request gave him pause, his eyes roaming over your face. He’d taken painstaking measures to keep his partnership with Rawlins a secret yet you’d discovered it. “What do you want to know?”
“He gave you a lot of money.”
“I earned that money,” he said in a defensive tone. “He and I were partners for a while. Then he died.”
“You went to a lot of trouble to hide your connection to him.”
“You found out about it though.”
You shrugged your shoulders. “I’m good at what I do.”
“Yeah, too good,” he muttered. He released your hand, watching you intently. “So what do you want to know?”
You leaned in closer, your voice barely above a whisper. He was momentarily distracted by the sensation of your tits pressed against him but he forced himself to concentrate.
“What happened to Rawlins, did you have anything to do with it?”
Billy took a swig of his wine. “Why do you think that?”
You quirked your eyebrow at him. “Knifed by someone in the parking lot. They never found the guy who did it.”
“He had a lot of enemies,” he pointed out.
“Okay, so maybe I was wrong.”
He studied you for several seconds, trying to decide if he should take the leap or not. “You’re not wrong.”
Realization dawned on your face as the truth set in. “Why did you do it?”
“You sure you want to know?”
“I’m asking, aren’t I?”
So he told you, about Operation Cerberus, his role in it and the money he earned, how he’d eliminated Rawlins a year ago when the prick plotted to take out Frank and his family. To this day Frank didn’t know about Billy’s partnership with Rawlins or how close he came to dying and he intended to keep it that way.
Throughout his confession his eyes were glued to your face, gauging your reactions. The part of him determined to do anything to be a success, the one who didn’t let society’s morals get in the way of his ambitions, would never be accepted by his closest friends. Despite the myriad of reasons to have kept that side of himself hidden, he didn’t want to do that with you. Because as risky as it was to be so open with you, it was also exhilarating. There was no one in this world he’d ever been this honest with and that kind of intense connection with you was addictive. He wanted you to know everything about him, all of the dark and vicious thoughts that ran through his head, the burning ambition that kept pushing him forward. He wanted you to know him inside and out and he wanted the same from you.
Before he could prod you to speak your mind the server came by with your dishes, setting your meals on the table. The redhead took her time, all the whilst your gaze was focused on the table, avoiding his. Billy’s heart started to pound in his chest, he was suddenly filled with doubt. Had he made a mistake in telling you the truth? Did he just completely fuck this up? Every second the goddamn redhead lingered at the table felt like an eternity when all he wanted was to shake you out of your stupor.
The second the server left, he moved in on you. “Are you gonna say something?”
You finally looked at him, your forehead burrowed. “We need to do a better job of hiding your history with Rawlins. I found it, that means someone else can too.”
“You gonna help me with that?”
You shook your head ‘yes’. “Yeah, I have to. You need me.”
“What I did doesn’t bother you?”
You exhaled a heavy sigh. “Of course it does, but there’s nothing I can do about it. You’ve seen me at my worst and you didn’t judge me. I won’t do that to you either. Besides, when the universe deals you a shitty hand you’ve got to find other ways to even out your odds.”
A strange feeling of warmth flooded over him, compelling him to angle forward and kiss you on the lips.
You pulled away a second later, smiling at him as you rubbed the corner of his mouth. “This lipstick isn’t kiss-proof.”
“I don’t care.” Wicked visions of you flashed through his mind. Your bold red lips wrapped around his cock, sucking him off the way he liked it. His cum spread over your tits, your neck, your lips. The taste of your sweet, delicious cunt on his tongue as he fucked you with his mouth. The heat of your tongue against his as he rammed into you over and over-
“Stop looking at me like that,” you warned.
“Then stop looking so hot,” he snarked.
You smiled, biting down on your bottom lip.
It blew his mind how sweet and shy you were when he paid you compliments, like you didn’t expect that from him. Obviously he needed to fix that, because you deserved to know how insanely beautiful you were all the time.
“Has Anvil been okay without Rawlins?” you asked, taking a bite out of your butternut squash ravioli.
Swallowing his steak, he wiped his mouth with a napkin. “It was tough for a while but we’ve been doing pretty well the last few months.”
“You should be proud of what you’ve accomplished, Billy. You took a big risk going into business for yourself and you made it work. That’s amazing. I could never do that.”
Billy’s insides radiated with happiness. Other than Curtis and Frank he never really had people who genuinely believed in him so to have you cheering him on was exalting. Especially considering you were great at what you did and he had so much respect for you.
He poured himself and you more wine before reaching for your hand again. “I think you could. You’d make a shitload of money if you freelanced.”
You shook your head ‘no’. “No way, I’m too much of a coward to take a risk like that.” You took a sip of your wine. “Plus I get to go to Paris for work.”
“Or you could go to Paris on vacation and not work.”
“Then I’d have to pay for it,” you pointed out, grinning. “When you grow up the way I did, you learn to appreciate free things.”
Your enthusiasm was infectious, he couldn’t hep but smile back. A part of him was hoping this would be the perfect opening for you to talk more about your childhood, about everything you went through, because he desperately wanted you to trust him as much as he trusted you with his secrets.
“I’ll be there for two weeks,” you continued, oblivious to his disappointment. “We’re going to scout out locations for the new branch and-”
“We?” Billy interjected.
You cast him a quick glance. “Roger’s coming with me on the trip.”
The jealousy that struck him felt like a swift kick to his gut. Images of you and that goddamn bastard traipsing around and enjoying romantic date nights in Paris assaulted his mind. Agitated, he pulled his hand from yours. “I bet that fucker can’t wait to be alone with you.”
“Billy, come on. You can’t be serious.”
“How would you feel if I took off with someone who wanted to fuck me?”
“First of all, he doesn’t want me.”
His jaw clenched with frustration as he glared at you. “I’ve seen the way he looks at you. He’s thought about fucking you.”
“Even if he does, I don’t want him.” You reached out to cup his face, your voice so soft and tender in your attempts to placate him that he momentarily forgot how upset he was. “You really think I’d jeopardize what we have for a fling with Roger? I wouldn’t do that.”
“Then don’t go. Turn him down.”
Irritation flickered over your face, he could tell you were done coddling him. “Billy, you have no right to ask me that. I’d never interfere with your work.”
Underneath all that jealousy he knew you were right. As much as he despised the idea of you going away to Paris with another guy, he couldn’t demand that you not go on work trips. If you did that to him, it would annoy the fuck out of him. Yet despite his rational side recognizing he was asking for too much, he couldn’t help but feel bitter. “That asshole’s gonna make a move on you, I know it.”
“What if he does? What do you think is gonna happen?”
Hs eyes met yours, urgently seeking some kind of validation from you. “You tell me.”
“Do you think I’m going to sleep with him?”
He flinched. “Don’t talk about fucking another guy, please. You’re gonna make me lose my appetite.”
You took his hand and placed it over your left breast, probably to distract him from all the disgusting images that were running through his brain. “I wanted you so badly and even then it took me like a month to fuck you. Trust me, I’m not going to sleep with him when I’m not even attracted to him.”
Spotting the earnestness in your eyes, the knot in his stomach finally loosened. Roger may have had a hard-on for you but Billy knew you felt nothing for the fucker. He’d noticed that even at the night of the gala. So that meant he had to trust you, there was no reason not to. “Call me every night when you’re there,” he grumbled.
“Every night? You’re probably going to start blocking my calls,” you laughed.
He booped your nose. “Every. Fucking. Night.”
You beamed. “Fine.” A wicked glint flashed in your eyes, a seductive smile on your lips as you slowly moved his hand lower, his fingers now on your nipple. “Hey, just ‘cause you’re not there with me doesn’t mean we can’t have fun.”
He stroked your nipple over the fabric of your dress, enjoying how the nub hardened under his touch, the way your breath hitched in your throat when he continued his ministrations. With his other hand he tucked your hair behind your ear, whispering to you. “Phone sex is alright, but nothing beats this.” His tongue curved along the shell of your ear, and you trembled against him. “Right?”
The waitress seemed to come out of nowhere this time to ask how your meals were, and you jumped back. Disappointed, he sighed.
“Food was great. Thank you,” you replied, smiling stiffly at the redhead.
“Can I get you anything else?”
“Privacy would be great,” Billy muttered.
You kicked him under the table. “Dessert menu?”
“Sure. I’ll bring it right over,” the waitress said, taking your plates away.
“I’ll give you all the sugar you want once we get outta here,” he murmured seductively, caressing your thigh.
You giggled, rolling your eyes. “That’s a terrible line!” You took his hand and removed it from your thigh. “Billy, I’m not sleeping with you tonight.”
“Why not?”
“Because it’s our first date and I don’t put out on the first date.”
“Now that’s a terrible line,” he fired back, mimicking your earlier tone.
“Also, we already had sex this morning.”
“So? I’m greedy. I can’t get enough of you.” There was that shy smile of yours again, and he reached out to give you a sweet peck on the cheek. “You blush every time I tease you.”
“I do?”
“Yeah, it’s adorable.”
Your cheeks grew even more red. “I’m not used to it from you. A part of me still thinks you’re bullshitting me.”
Billy stiffened. “Really?”
“I know you’re not playing me,” you reassured. “It’s on me, not you. I just have a hard time accepting when good things happen.”
The waitress came by with the dessert menu. He briefly glanced at it before ordering a slice of pecan pie while you ordered a piece of chocolate cake.
As soon as the redhead left, he broached the topic with you again. “I’m not gonna hurt you, babe. You have to believe that.”
You didn’t look at him, your eyes fixed somewhere on his chest. “I do. You were so pissed off at me last night. I honestly expected you to hit me because you were so angry. But you didn’t.”
It made him sick to his stomach that you actually thought him capable of hitting you. It hadn’t even occurred to him that you would worry about that, but of course you would. With your childhood it made perfect sense, he was just a fucking idiot who hadn’t realized how much it still impacted you. “I’m never gonna lay a hand on you. I swear.” His eyes locked with yours, hoping you can sense how much he meant those words.
“I believe you.”
His voice was insistent, his gaze boring into you. “Why did you think I would?”
Your eyes wavered from his eyes to his lips for a long time, the atmosphere thick with tension. Your facial expressions ran the gamut of painful emotions, from uncertainty to fear to sheer panic.
It finally sank in that maybe the reason you were keeping the truth from him had noting to do with if you trusted him or not. Maybe you didn’t want to be assaulted by memories from the past that caused you so much pain. The last thing he wanted was for you to experience that hell again. Regretting his demanding tone, his hands caressed down the length of your arms. “You don’t have to tell me, It’s okay.”
Your eyes brimmed with aching vulnerability as you looked up at him. “I want to… I just… give me some time, okay?” You pressed your lips against his, giving him the softest, sweetest kiss. “I’ve been looking forward to tonight for so long, I don’t want to ruin it, you know?”
His heart felt full, his mind reeling with wonderment at the thought of you truly reciprocating his feelings. His arms wrapped around you as you sank into him, burying your face in his chest. His fingers stroked the back of your hair, murmuring soft, soothing words to you. Somewhere in the distance he heard the server’s voice trying to interject, but he didn’t give a damn.  He was yours and you were his and nothing was going to ruin that. Nothing.
Part 18
A/N - I realize not much happened in this chapter but I just reallly wanted to write a dialogue heavy part where they simply get to know and enjoy each other. I think they’ve earned some fluff. LOL.
As always, thank you for your kind words of encouragement. Please let me know your thoughts.

TOH Fanfic recs! Part 1
(All of these people are my inspiration I stg)
Found family
Make my heart your home series by @tiredandjaded
First fic: Luz accidentally calls Eda "mom" and they both have a crisis over it. Mostly Luz. Second fic: post-YBOS, Luz tells Eda and Lilith of what happened during the rescue mission, and both Luz and Eda give Lilith a shovel talk. Third fic: Luz and Eda are both taking care of each other in the first seven days after coming home. Includes fun sibling bonding!
(Patiently awaiting the next chapter of the third installment!)
Literally anything by @hereforthehurts
The way they write emotions and hurt/comfort is seriously amazing. Never fails to make me cry, especially when it comes to sickfics and fics of Eda and Luz. (I recommend supporting them on Ko-Fi!)
You Are My Sunshine by @liesminelli
One of the first Owl House fics I ever read, and it's SO good! Luz has a night terror and Eda walks in on her freaking out, and it goes from there. The emotions of both characters are very well-written, and the ending is so sweet! I also recommend checking out their other works too!
It's The Least I Could Do by @witchesbeforewizardss
There aren't enough fics of Luz and Lilith bonding, and this is one of the BEST ones. Lilith needs more healthy relationships, and in my opinion, building an aunt-niece relationship with Luz is a great place to start! (next to making amends with Eda) Basically, Luz is feeling homesick, and before dinner, she allows Lilith to help her feel better.
Luz's Not So Great Luck and
A Friendly Beastly Surprise by @animerunner
The first fic has a large abundance of angsty scenarios, mostly AUs, all of which are wonderful to read. My personal favorite is the one where Luz is an orphan and she has a chronic illness, and well, you'll have to read to find out! The second one is canon compliant, and it's about Eda turning into the Owl Beast and treating Luz like an owlet, and Luz is just like "guess this is my life now". It's so cute!
Rainy Day Makeovers by @fallenflowersfromgrace
To summarize, There's boiling rain, and Luz convinces Eda to spend time with her giving each other makeovers. It's very cute, and I love it!
Some Honesty Before Breakfast by @pizzaboat
Eda notices Luz is acting unusual, and gets her to open up. It's in-character, and wonderfully executed.
Thank you for being in my life by @peridot-garcia
Episodes of The Owl House from Eda's perspective, and as of now, also Luz and Lilith's perspective. It's got wonderful found family scenarios, and so far the plot is pretty great!
Lighting up the Dark by The_Quoter
This is a very recent one, and I love it! It's post-Young Blood Old Souls, and Eda comes to terms with how much Luz means to her, while also helping her come out of a nightmare.
The Light Behind Your Eyes by ABirdinFlight
Post-Young Blood. Eda gives Lilith a shovel-talk (harsh but well-deserved) and has a heart-to-heart talk with Luz in her room.
Moonlit Masquerade: Replacement by Rohad
Similar to make my heart your home, Luz accidentally calls Eda "mom" and both of them have a crisis over it. (As expected!)
Bad Days by @drabbles-of-writing
Part of their Four Years AU, Luz has an episode, and Eda takes her home to help her calm down. It's very bittersweet and heartfelt.
Gratuitous Embellishments of Chicken Noodle Soup by Rulerofthecosmosandsnails
Luz almost drowns at the Knee, but her Owl Mom is there to help her get better, including making her soup! (Yeah, my fic Snow Day was inspired by this)
A Line Crossed by Clevinger
AU in which Luz dies by the spikes at the bridge, in front of Eda, who thankfully resurrects her, and as expected, Luz is having a hard time handling it. There's another work inspired by it called Too Much, Too Late by TheHonestyBird.
A nightmare and a hug by moreteaplease
Reeaaally hard to find since it doesn't have the relationship tag for Luz and Eda, but still, it's very good! Post-YBOS, Luz has a nightmare and goes to Eda for comfort, confessing that she misses her mom.
Sleepless Nights by @snail-watch
Similar to the one before this, Luz has a nightmare and goes to Eda for comfort. I loved the way the author wrote Eda's thoughts about Luz!
Mending Trust by @electricwalkman
Similar to The Light Behind Your Eyes. Eda puts Luz to bed, and Luz tells her about the portal being destroyed, and gives her the mask piece. Eda comforts her, as well.
Night Owl and
The Bad Dream Club by @thedrunkenwerewolf / @wolfiethewriter
Eda has trouble sleeping, Luz notices, and Eda confessed that she's scared of hurting Luz as the beast. Luz of course, reassures her by telling her it won't happen. The second fic is the other way around, sorta. Luz has a nightmare and gets herself a drink to calm down, and Eda finds her.
Dreams of a Witch by TheDinosaurNerd
Eda talks to her younger self in her mindscape about her life as a wild witch. (In the end it turns out to be Luz in her lap.)
Griffon Flu by @serendipitouslyss
Another great sickfic! Luz gets the flu, or Griffon Flu as it's called in the Boiling Isles, but Eda and King are more than willing to help her get better.
Owlet by spotty8bee
Ah, the cursed AU that started it all. Only 2 chapters, but it's wonderfully heartbreaking and you really feel for Eda in the second half of chapter 1.
Observations of the Witchy Kind by JoLau
If you like platonic cuddling, you'll love this fic! Luz wants to learn about witch biology, but unfortunately Boscha burns the notebook that had her research, so she tries to rewrite her observations, and ends up catching Eda's attention.
I Need You, Please Don't Leave Me by rainbowpotato12
Luz is having bad thoughts, and worries that something bad could happen to Eda again, but Eda reassures her it won't.
This is Home by SpaghettieBabie
Luz has doubts about herself, and opens up to Eda about it, confessing that she likes her as her mother figure.
I Love the Found Family Trope! by @l-egionaire
Takes place after The Intruder. Eda thinks that Luz and King might leave her after knowing about the curse, and they tell her they would never do that.
Nightmare by OneandOnlyOllie
Another nightmare fic! Eda comforts Luz after a nightmare. Lilith hears the two, and wants to make things right with Luz.
It was not, in fact, a day out by @pizzaboat
Post-YBOS. Eda turns into the Owl Beast, tries to cuddle Luz, Lilith and King in her nest, and they have to come up with a working scheme to turn her back. Basically The Intruder if Lilith was there.
A broken brain by @pizzaboat
I can relate to this one a lot (except my adhd is diagnosed). Luz has trouble focusing on homework, and doesn't know why, and tells Eda she thinks she's going crazy, but Eda tells her she's not, and that Lilith had a similar problem.
What big claws (to protect you with my dear) by @ito-itonomen
AU where Luz is 10 and Eda takes her in, and both of them have doubts about themselves. Chapter 2 is especially good.
Unexpected Hope by @sepublic
Luz talks to Lilith about how she had (surprisingly) inspired her.
Lilith and Eda
Mistakes Might Have Been Made by @fallenflowersfromgrace
WARNING: you will definitely cry in the second chapter!
An AU in which Lilith split the curse with Eda the first time she transformed. Of course, by the time she reveals that she cursed her, it doesn't go well. (Eda's reaction hurts, but it's in character) and the pain in chapter 2 is just…AGONY AND ITS SO GOOD!
Walk Through the Storm, I Would by @lilithswxfe
Trigger warning for self harm and suicidal thoughts in this fic.
Lilith tries to hurt herself while in a bad state, but Eda catches her and comforts her.
Source Decay series by @tiredandjaded
Trigger warning for underage drinking in the second fic.
Two pre-canon fics about Lilith and Eda, the first fic portraying Eda as trans and how she's feeling about her name, and how Lilith helps her. The second one is sadder, it's after the curse and Eda isn't taking Lilith coming home late very well, leading to some…not-so-great coping mechanisms.
Rabbit Heart by radiantstaber
It has found family Owl Mom moments, but then it is mostly about Lilith and Eda rebuilding their relationship, with Luz trying her best to encourage both of them. (The description is very funny, describing the Owl House as a get along shirt.)
The Cafeteria Incident by @electricwalkman
Remember that page from Eda's record about Eda summoning abominations because somebody stole Lilith's lunch money? This is based on that, and it's SO GOOD!
Runaway Raven by @witchesbeforewizardss
Trigger warning for graphic injuries
In both Lilith thinks she doesn't belong with her family in the Owl House, and tries to "punish" herself. Eda convinces her that it's not worth it and she just wants her sister back.
The Long Night by @serendipitouslyss
Post-YBOS, just like The Light Behind Your Eyes. Eda puts Luz to bed, and she and Lilith have a long talk. (Though she's not as harsh.)
A Midnight Talk by @elizabethemerald
Lilith sees Luz having a nightmare, and calms her down for a little bit (via stroking her hair). Eda sees her, and the two have a talk.
I Need a Moment to Quiet This Pain by @come-unhinged
Moments in Eda's life and how she dealt with her curse.
Part 2 might have Lumity idk

how was Aster and Iris's relationship when Aster was pregnant with Ellie? As you mentioned when James was missing and Iris was expecting Posie, Aster was her major supporter.
Aster and Story got very close to each other when she was pregnant. They patched up those years of history between the two of them, but Iris came over a lot. That's her twin, and she was so giddy seeing Aster pregnant. Her and Story would sit and let Aster ask all the questions. Aster did relate to Iris quite a bit, because even though Iris was in a committed relationship to James, he was MIA, so she was alone. Aster isn't in a committed relationship with Mickey, and sometimes he's there and sometimes he's not. In the beginning everyone thought Mickey might step up. But that was short lived. He gave the excuse that her family was suffocating him. That's how she ended up at the townhouse. But let's take a peek at Aster telling her family, and yes, she told Aster alone first.

Aster busies herself with Ellie’s closet, knowing Iris is there before she ever announces herself.  “How are you feeling today?” Iris asks her, before walking over to the glider.  Her older sister always was a bit of a control freak, and her daughter’s room was no different.  everything about this room screaming Aster, and Iris loved it.
“Bloated,” Aster huffs out a fake laugh before hanging another outfit up.  “I want her, but I’m worried about Mickey.”
“I think that’s fair.”
“I could do it, you know?  I’m not worried about him not being in her life, it’s the coming and going.  I look at our dad, and how he is always there, still.  We’re nearly thirty, and he still wants to be so involved.  I look at James and even though he was MIA he was always here.  He was always coming back, and he was always for you.  Even Story and Carter, he’s never leaving her again.  And then there’s me,” she shakes her head, and finally turns to look at Iris, and she sees the tears in her sister’s eyes.
“I didn’t want a child like this.  I’m not even sure, I wanted a child.  Scott made me believe I wanted one, and then it didn’t happen.  I’m a screw up.  Divorced by twenty-five.  And now, here I am alone.”
Iris walks over to her sister, and Aster plants her face on her shoulder, “I’m the big sister, I should be giving you a pep talk.”
“You know you’re like five minutes older than me?  You’re not a screw up.  We all have this ideal life for us, and all you saw was a marriage and two point five kids.  That didn’t have to be your life.”
“That’s what you wanted,” Aster moans before going to sit in the glider.  She takes deep, slow breaths, rubbing her hands over her stomach.  “This should be your baby.  I know this isn’t easy for you.”
“It’s not my time right now.”
“You’re a natural mom.  You always wanted kids with Jamey.  Life is cruel.  He’s a better dad than Mickey will be.”
“Az, this isn’t you.  This moping around.  Mickey sucks, so what?  I’m married to my childhood sweetheart, and our little sister is figuring life out with a boy she’s always loved.  You are Aster Sapphire fucking Drysdale.  You make mistakes, and you roll with it.  Not only that, you become better because of it.  You learn from your mistakes, and you Aster Drysdale are a force to be reckon with.  We all fear you, because you have no fear.  You get shit done.  And I have no doubt that motherhood is going to be the same thing for you.  You get over this pity party, because you’re going to have this beautiful little girl that is yours.”
“I’m gonna mess her up.”
“Why?  Because you like things a certain way or you feel your skin crawl?  So what.  You deal with those things.  And you become the best mother that we all know that you can be.  Fuck Scott for ever making you feel it was your fault you didn’t have a child, and fuck Mickey Henry for being a douche bag.  He’s about to give you the best gift in the world, and I can’t wait to spoil that beautiful little baby.  Now, can I have my big sister who commands a room just by walking in?  I miss being scared of you.”
“You have never been scared of me,” Aster laughs, giving a big smile when Ellie starts kicking around.  “I know, sweetheart, you’re running out of room.”
Walking over to her sister, Iris puts a hand on her stomach, missing this feeling so much.  Wishing she enjoyed it a bit more.  “I just know, that my first pregnancy, I was so consumed in missing Jamey, I didn’t enjoy this beautiful life that was growing in me, that me and him created.  She was created in pure love.  I know you’re not in deep love with Mickey, but I want you to enjoy this beautiful child.  Don’t sit there and think about things you wish you could change, because we can’t.  Az, you’re going to be one of the best mothers.  This little girl...man, you’re going to put her first.  Be a friend to her, but also be a mom.  She’s going to love you, and when the time is right, there will be someone perfect for you.  Not all of us get to meet our someone when we’re two.”
“No, or under a year old.  You really think I have someone out there?”
“Do you want to have someone?” Aster nods her head, those dark blue eyes that look just like Ransom’s shining up at her.  “Yeah, I do.  But don’t look for him.  Do you.  Take care of Eliana.  Everything else doesn’t matter until it happens.”
“Thanks, Icy.”
“What kind of little sister would I be if I didn’t help you out?  Now, big belly, lets get you something to eat.”
“I want coffee, but I’ve already had coffee, and mom is limiting my coffee.  Iris, I need coffee!”
“You drink too much coffee.  I’ll have yours for you.  Give you a sip.”
Aster only rolls her eyes, and struggles to get out of the glider, “That’s cruel.  If I can’t even have it, I don’t want to smell it.  Lets go.  Feed me, I’m hungry.”

PAIRING(s): Charlie Gillespie x fem! reader
WARNING(s): mentions of abuse, trauma, anxiety, angst, fluff

SUMMARY: charlie takes co-star and girlfriend y/n home for christmas but that leads to self doubt in her (im so bad at these) [note: this takes place in 2021]
Tumblr media
As Charlie pulls out the key from the ignition, I sigh, wringing my hands nervously. He unbuckles his seatbelt and faces me, giving me a bright, happy smile.
“My family is so excited to meet you.” He says, reaching forward to tuck a strand of hair behind my ear.
“What if they hate me?” I whisper.
My boyfriend, Charlie, and I first met on the set of Charmed – we were both in the first episode, but I left it after that due to scheduling conflicts with my other show, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. I had been a part of CAOS since its first episode – I played the role of Sabrina’s cousin, Sarah Spellman.
Back then, we were just friends. After I left Charmed, we would text and call each other occasionally. Whenever we were in the same city, we would meet up – but that was hard considering we both had quite different lives. So, we didn’t think of each other as more than friends – sure I thought that he was attractive, but that’s it.
But, in 2020, after CAOS was cancelled, I got a call from the casting director of Julie and The Phantoms: she was the one who had previously cast me in CAOS, and she believed that I’d be perfect for the role of Julie’s British cousin who joins her school after her parents relocate to LA – I also play Reggie’s love interest.
I texted Charlie immediately after my manager finalized all the details for the new role. He had been excited and when shooting started in 2021, we were pretty inseparable.
After a few weeks, I had developed a major crush on him ad the rest of the cast had also picked up on that. They were also convinced that Charlie liked me (which I didn’t believe at that time but later found out that it was, indeed, true) and they used to tease us about it all the time. Finally, a couple weeks before production ended, he asked me out on a date and it’s been really, really great so far.
We’ve been dating for about nine months now and honestly, he’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me. He’s my home – all my life I’ve always felt lost, but I feel like I truly belong with him.
Now, he laughs. “Baby. I promise you – they already love you. My mother’s been bugging me to bring you home ever since we started dating, and you’ve already met Megan, and she loves you.”
“If you say so.” I say, still not convinced.
He grins and we get out of his car and face his childhood home. I take a deep breath, shaking off my nerves. He knocks three times on the front door, and it opens immediately after.
A petite, blonde woman steps out, with a wide smile on her face. She opens her arms as Charlie yells, “Mamacita!”
“Mon chéri. Ça fait trop longtemps!”
  “Je vous ai manqué!”
I have absolutely no idea what they are saying, but the scene in front of me is so heart-warming. Charlie’s mother is genuinely happy to see her son – one can tell by the way she’s holding him, almost like he’s a little child. Charlie is quite a couple inches taller than her, but he’s nestled his face into her shoulder.
I can’t stop a grin from breaking out on my face. It’s honestly rather lovely. But I also feel a slight pang in my heart knowing that no one ever greets me like this when I go home.
They separate from each other and she squeezes his shoulders, looking at him with so much love that I have to look away. I have never seen a mother look at their child like that, with such intense love. That’s dumb, I know. Mothers are supposed to love their children. But all my mother ever looks at me with is disappointment, anger, disgust, and – you get it.
She notices me next and claps her hands. “You must be Y/N!”
“Hi, Mrs. Gillespie. It’s so nice to meet you!” I extend a hand toward her.
  “Aw, come here! You’re gorgeous.”
She pulls me in for a hug too, and for a moment I’m engulfed by the smell of white musk and the feeling of warmth.
We pull apart and I smile at her, genuinely. All my anxiety has washed away.
“My son is always talking about you, about how pretty you are and –”
“Let’s go inside!” Charlie quickly cuts her off, eyes widened as I laugh.
“But I wanna know what he says!”
Mrs Gillespie winks at me as Charlie turns scarlet. “I’ll tell you when he’s gone.”
***
Another roar of laughter erupts around the dinner table.
Honestly, I’ve never seen a family like this – a family so connected, so loving. All of Charlie’s siblings – from his three older brothers to his little sister are here for Christmas Eve, and all of them are teasing each other, telling childhood stories, and just having the best time. I was, too. That was until I suddenly realized how I don’t fit in here.
Everyone here grew up completely different than I did. When I was young, about two years old – my dad left my mom and I for another woman. I haven’t seen him since – although, he sends me a postcard and some money on holidays and birthdays. He’s travelling around the world with his new wife and is apparently ‘happier than he’s ever been.’
The reason he left is because kids ‘freak’ him out and he isn’t ‘ready’ for that kind of responsibility. I mean, it wasn’t like he was fifteen when he had me: he was twenty-seven, and already married to my mother for about two years then.
Naturally, my mother blames me for her divorce. I was born out of an accidental pregnancy, so my mother made sure to remind me every day that I was unwanted, and my birth was what ‘pushed’ him to leave us. Every single day, my mother told me that I shouldn’t have been born, that I was a mistake, that I was worthless, unlovable and so, so many more horrible things. She used to drink like crazy, and if I accidentally faced her in that state, she would sometimes hit me.
Years and years of abuse and all that childhood trauma led me to develop a fear of abandonment, trust issues, intimacy issues, anxiety, and depression. Throughout school, I had been closed off, unable to form relationships and friendships with other people. I had feared anything and everything – I couldn’t even maintain eye contact with people.
Of course, when I auditioned for CAOS and moved away to LA, away from that toxic environment, I got help and turned my life around. (My mother was incredibly happy to see me go since she had married another guy and now has a family with him – so I was the only thing left that reminded her of my father.) I learnt to accept, prioritize, and love myself – but I’m still working on that, of course.
But, I know, deep down, no matter how well I am, or how happy I am – there will always be a part of me that’s broken. I’ve grown to accept that, accept the fact that I’ll always carry the trauma with me.
But Charlie doesn’t. He’s lived a good life, and he deserves someone who can give him their everything – and that’s not me.
As much as I hate to say it, I’m not good enough for him.
He senses a change in my demeanour and squeezes my hand under the table. I give him a weak smile.
***
    “Y/N/N, what’s wrong?”
I look up at my boyfriend. He has a look of concern on his face as he takes a seat next to me on the couch.
I sigh into the quiet. Everyone has fallen asleep, except Charlie and I – we are seated in his living room in front of the fireplace.
  “Nothing. I’m just really tired.”
“That’s not true, Y/N. You were fine throughout dinner – oh my god, it’s the ice cream, isn’t it?”
  “What?”
“The pistachio ice cream that Maman made. It was weirdly bitter, eh? It’s okay, you can tell me.”
I purse my lips. “No, Charlie. The ice cream was great.”
“Are you sure? You’ve been down since desert.”
“It’s not the ice cream, babe.”
  “Okay, then, what is it?”
He looks at me expectantly, and I can sense that he’s feeling anxious.
  “I just – I realized that I don’t fit in.”
He furrows his brows, but before he can say anything, I start speaking again. “Charlie, you have such a loving and perfect family. And you know how I grew up. What I went through. So, you know that I’m not used to this. I’m not – I’ve never seen love like this in a family, you know. And I don’t fit in here! While your mother was being so nice to me, I kept wondering when she’s going to scream at me. Or when your father was genuinely interested in me, I kept thinking that maybe he’s trying to find a way to get rid of me. It’s just – it’s just the way I grew up, and I’ll always be like this, Char. Your family is so nice, and it shocks me, honestly. And I think that maybe it’s better if you date someone who grew up the way you did, someone who’s like you. Because I have been broken my whole life, and I don’t think that I can give you everything that you need. I don’t think I’m good enough for you. You’re the best person that I’ve ever met, and I think you should be with someone who’s worthy of you.”
I whisper the last part, and feel a teardrop fall into the space between my collarbones. I look down because I’m too afraid of what he might say.
I hear him breathe out heavily and I feel him take my hands in his.
  “Don’t you ever say that.”
  “But it’s true –”
“Y/N. Don’t you dare doubt yourself. You are good enough. No, you’re perfect. You’re the strongest woman I know. I completely understand why you feel what you’re feeling right now.”
He scoots closer to me and cups my cheeks in his hands. “And it’s okay. It’s okay to feel that way. It’s okay to feel shocked. That doesn’t make you a bad person, nor does it make you not good enough. In fact, it makes all the stronger – you went through so much as a kid, and still, you have space in your heart for me. You know, I never doubt the fact that you love me, ever. Because you always make me feel special, make me feel good about myself and always make sure that I’m happy. You always go out of your way to take care of me, and you always make me feel at home. I don’t want anyone other than you. I love you so much and I never, ever wanna lose you.”
I think I’m fully crying now, as Charlie continues, “It’s okay to feel that way. Take your time. But I’m never leaving you. You’re my person, and you’ll always fit in with me, baby. Always.”
  “Charlie…”
I look at him properly, and I can see the pain in his eyes as a tear traces along the curve of his cheek. He sniffs, saying, “I’m sorry. I just can’t imagine being with anyone other than you.”
“Why are you so good to me?” I whisper, my throat still tight from the emotions.
“Because you deserve someone good, and I can only hope that I’m good for you.”
I wrap my arms around his neck and bury my face in his shoulder as a sob escapes my body. “I’m so sorry, baby. So, so sorry.” I keep whispering that, while he rubs my back, saying ‘it’s okay.’
“I love you so much, Charlie. Honestly, thanks for being so good to me. You have no idea what you mean to me.”
I can feel him smile as he says, “I think I have a pretty good idea, yeah.”

daddy issues - chapter iii
The one where Ransom doesn’t feel ready to become a father, but he should have thought about it before sleeping with a complete stranger.
When Ransom’s latest one night stand lets him know that he’s going to become a father, he finds himself looking for the qualities he never believed to have so he can become the parent he never got to witness as a child.
for general warnings and author’s notes, please go to the fic’s masterlist. It’s being constantly updated
Tumblr media
Leaving work later that day, Ransom was submerged in his own thoughts in a way he hadn’t been ever since he was a teen. Of course, his family - with the exception of his grandfather - thought he didn’t have much in his head, but the truth was that sometimes, he felt like he had too much. So, in an effort not to lose his mind, he decided to let it all go just before he turned fifteen. Everything. Every preoccupation, his mother’s expectations, his fear of never being good enough.        That had served him well up until a couple of months ago. Sure, it meant that he’d created quite a reputation for himself and he’d been involved in one too many drunk endeavors he would have preferred not to be associated with, but at least he had something to share, stories to tell. That would ultimately be extremely beneficial to him if he ever did decide to take his grandfather’s advice and write a book.        But then came the news that Harlan would cut him out of the will if he didn’t get his act together, along with the proposal that he should take over the publishing company, since his uncle was being reallocated to another family business, and he thought to himself, maybe this is it. Maybe this is the time to settle back and become what he’d dreaded so much. Maybe it’s time for him to forget about fun and amusement and discover what exactly was so great about maturing.        So he accepted the job and tried to focus on what he was supposed to be doing. Who he was supposed to be. It seemed like the right thing to do after he’d spent so long trying to run from any sort of difficulty in life. It seemed like he owed his grandfather at least that. But over the next few months, it became increasingly difficult to fulfill his duties without seriously reconsidering everything he had been before and everything he had tried to avoid thinking about, which had lead to his admittedly stupid impulsive behavior.        Ransom was in his late thirties now, and he was only starting to realize just how messed up he was. And that meant that the last thing he thought himself capable of becoming right now was a father.        Actually, Ransom had never even considered the possibility of ever becoming one. I mean, he liked the part that came before, very much in fact, but despite his playboy ways, he’d always been very careful about using a condom, especially since he didn’t want to deal with precisely the type of problem he was going through right now. But of course, even he knew that condoms failed and with his luck (and the amount of sexual partner he’d had) it was only a matter of time until it happened.        Fuck. What the hell was he going to do? It’s not like he even had a proper parental figure to learn from, considering his father was an even lousier son-of-a-bitch than him and his mother was a controlling freak. What was he going to do?        Ransom was startled when he realized he was nowhere near his house when he’d finally been able to snap out from his thoughts. In fact, his feet had taken him in the opposite direction, and he found himself easily following the familiar path to his grandfather’s house.        Just as the castle-like mansion appeared in front of him, he sighed, looking up at the window of Harlan’s office. It seemed like he was awake. He wondered what his grandfather would have to say about this situation. Harlan managed to be even more unpredictable than Ransom most times.       Still, Ransom knew that if there was ever someone who was capable of giving him any advice he’d actually follow, it was him.       Harlan, of course, knew something was up the second Ransom stepped foot in his room. He’d always been the one person capable of reading his grandson, and that meant he was probably the only one who actually somewhat understood him.       “Well, Ransom, it’s very nice of you to come and visit me when there’s no family dinner forcing you to, but care to share what actually made you drive all the way here? I know it has nothing to do with the company, otherwise, I would have already heard about it from one of the managers.”       Ransom couldn’t really be surprised about Harlan and his knowledge of him, so he settled for some feeling kind of comfort at knowing at least someone in this world could see right through him and actually cared enough to ask about his problems.       “I… I got someone pregnant.” The words came out weirdly easily, and it felt like some of the weight that’d been placed on him had now disappeared. He raised his eyes to meet Harlan’s, after his grandfather didn’t offer any immediate reaction, and the anticipation made him grow irritated again.       He really should learn other automatic responses.       “Aren’t you going to say anything?” Harlan took a deep breath before answering, a tiny smile playing on his lips.       “What are you expecting me to say? Congratulations or I’m surprised it didn’t happen sooner?” The young man rolled his eyes, impulsively getting up from his seat to pace around the room. His mind was failing him, he couldn’t hold on to a single thought for more than a millisecond. He’d come all the way here in the hopes that Harlan would know what to do, the right thing to say to shed some light on the mess that was his mind, but he should have known better. That was not how his grandfather worked.      But his grandfather knew how *he worked. So he patiently waited, watching with piercing attention as Ransom tried to get a grip over his thoughts. He knew his grandson would need time, but he would voice his concerns sooner or later. And then, he’d be able to actually help, once he determined what precisely was Ransom’s problem with the entire situation.        “I’m not father material,” the young man suddenly blurted out, running his fingers through his hair and inadvertently messing his usually impeccable styling. Harlan smiled to himself, knowing only a year before this would never happen, not without his grandson suddenly leaping towards the nearest reflective surface just to adjust his hair. He’d changed so much already, but he still was overcome by doubts. “I don’t think… I think the baby would be better off not knowing me.”        And there it was. That overwhelming sense of insecurity was the reason for Ransom being the way he was. No matter how hard he tried to run away from it, pretend it wasn’t there, Harlan knew his grandson too well. And now that he was starting to change his life, facing his biggest problem was going to happen sooner or later. Since there was a baby in question, thank God it was sooner rather than later.        “My boy, I understand why you would think that. It’s not like you have had great parental examples to guide you in such a journey, and I even accept my part of the blame in that. But I think you have the wrong idea of what being a parent truly is like. No matter how it may seem to our kids, no single adult suddenly is struck by the obvious guidelines of how to be a perfect parent. We figure out as we go, and we make mistakes along the way. A lot of them. So I think the question that really matters here is… do *you want to be around to witness your child grow? Or would you be okay never really knowing what became of him or her?”        Harlan braced himself for the answer, knowing it would deeply affect him one way or another, but also aware that he couldn’t let Ransom see what his reaction would be like. It would only make the younger man angry. It was important for him to think he was the only one in charge of his decisions, and the only one affected by them.         When it became clear that Ransom was too lost in his own mind to come out with an answer just yet, his grandfather pressed on. “Look, Ransom, parenting is a skill, just like writing. Some people are born naturally talented, others have to rise to the occasion. You just have to figure out if you’re up for the challenge, because if you aren’t… I think it’d be best if you let them be.”        A few more seconds of heavy silence where Ransom still wouldn’t meet his eyes passed, and Harlan decided to ask, “Tell me, is *she ‘mother material’?” His grandson took a deep breath, once more running his fingers through his hair before admitting, “I don’t know. I barely know her at all. But she’s a professor. Of law, out of anything. And she seemed… good. Better than me, at least, and that’s a relief.”        The older man couldn’t help but laugh at how Ransom’s sense of humor tended to show its face in the weirdest of situations. He knew what his grandson should do, that he’d regret not giving this a try, but he also knew no good could come from trying to force Ransom into doing something when he wasn’t ready for or didn’t want to do it. So all he could do was wait, and hope the younger man would find the right answer by himself.       “I think I know what I want to do.”       Harlan couldn’t help but notice the sparkle in Ransom’s eye as he left the house without even remembering to say goodbye.

A/n: I cried when I got this request. It literally took me back to being 14 years old writing cringe fanfics on wattpad of one direction and their super stereotypical likes and dislikes lol also before I found out that black people wrote imagines so I was always reading "and Yn brushed her long blonde hair up into a messy bun and decided she looked good and was ready to go about her day, making sure she applied sunscreen because her fair skin burned easily" those were good times. Also changed it up a little reader and Harry stayed together and are in an amazing relationship because who wouldn’t want to be exclusive it’s Harry fucking styles. Also it’s my first Harry imagine so it definitely sucks lol
Warnings: a few swear words, sucky writing and probably a ton of mistakes.
"Let's welcome our guest" Lauren the host says and I run on stage and she pulls me into a big hug as everyone cheers and I hug her back, rocking us back and forth.
"Oh my god, how are you?" I ask kissing her cheek as I pull back.
"I'm so good, super glad you're here" she says.
"You and me both" I say pulling away fully and turning to the audience and I smile at them.
"And how are you all?" I ask and they all cheer so I laugh.
"That's good to hear" I say sitting down and I smile.
"So I have yet to read your book, your tell all as it has yet to come out officially. I'm hoping you could read just a little of it" she says handing me the book I sent her yesterday and I nod opening it to the chapter I want to read from.
"Keep in mind everyone, if you haven't already preordered Yn's book do it. It comes out in four days and I seen online from your official site it’s already sold out" she says and I smile at her nodding.
“Yeah but I’ve partnered with a bunch of stores so if they have books you can buy it. Also I’m donating a bunch of books” I say and she smiles.
“Really?” She asks and I nod.
“Yeah, with every book bought it’s a meal for a family so I bought out like 3 thousand copies and so that’s 3 thousand families fed and not even to mention all the copies that have been ordered from everyone. So now I have all these books and will be giving them out starting today” I say and everyone in the audience cheers.
“Sounds like you guys are actually excited so I’ll start with you” I say and they cheer even louder and I laugh.
"Ready?" She asks and I nod.
"I'm so nervous" she says giggling and I laugh.
"You're nervous, how do you think I feel? You guys are the first people besides my mom that are hearing anything from it. But the chapter I chose is called ‘Oh No I'm Pregnant’ so we’ll start there" I say and everyone starts screaming in the audience and I have to cover my ears as I laugh, even Lauren is in shock and I laugh waiting for the screams to die down.
"This isn't what I needed at all. The band is broken up, I don't know what to do with myself. We're only 21 and 20 this can not be happening" I read and she leans in smiling at me.
"I remember my thoughts. Maybe this is for the best. Maybe the break is exactly what we needed at this time so I can focus on being a mother, yes this is exactly what I need because now I can give you all of my attention" I read and the pictures of Winnie pop up on the screen and Lauren turns to look at them.
"Oh my god, she looks like Harry!" Someone screams and I giggle behind the book.
"Look at those curls" Lauren says.
"How am I going to tell him? How will he look at me. Will I just be the woman he made an accidental child with that he won't even want? Will he hate me and say it's not his? What will his family think? His family is some of my biggest supporters. We have been together for a while but we’ve never even talked about kids" I read.
"Do I tell him immediately or do I tell him later? I have all these questions and no one to help me answer them" I read flipping the page and everyone is listening while watching videos of Winnie and I, some of them from when she first started walking to now as she's almost five years old and she's in gymnastics doing flips.
"Moving past my doubt of pregnancy. This is called dedicated to Winnie" I say and everyone cheers.
"The minute I heard your heartbeat you took over my every thought. I have to be an amazing mother to you, I have to give you all that you deserve. Then I found out you were a girl. My little girl with a beating heart and I knew your name. As soon as I seen you I knew you were my little Gwyneth" I read and the video pops up of Harry playing the guitar and everyone starts cheering
"We'll be a fine. We'll be a fine line. We'll be a fine line" he sings playing the song on the guitar.
"What are we going to be?" He asks and the camera points towards Winnie who's sat in my lap.
"We'll be alright" she sings bouncing with him to the music.
"Again" he yells over the music and she giggles.
"We'll be alright" she sings through her giggles.
"Why?" He asks still playing the song.
"Because of mommy" she sings to the beat of the song and I tickle her and she giggles doubling over from laughter.
"Because of mummy" Harry sings and I smile at him.
"We'll be alright" he sings standing up and she sings with him and he kisses her head before he quickly pecks my lips and I laugh.
"Holy shit!" Lauren yells as the audience is losing their shit.
"Shut up, shut up, shut up" she says freaking out.
"I'm sorry. I'm really, really sorry I know I'm not supposed to swear but how could I not? Did you just see that fucking video? Yn you are going to give everyone a heart attack" she says and she stares at me with wide eyes.
"I can't believe this is real" she says laughing and the audience is still losing their shit and I just laugh through all the chaos.
"You came onto this show letting us think we had the upper hand because you have to answer every question we ask but really you had all the power over us" she says.
"I'm literally crying. Play that back" she says wiping her eyes and they play it again.
"How old is she?" She asks.
"She's four. Almost five" I say.
"What's her full name?" She asks.
"Gwyneth Anne Styles" I say and she covers her face.
"After Harry’s mom? Who all knows about her?" She asks.
"Yes and my family knows, his family, the boys aka Zayn, Niall, Louis and Liam, the food delivery guy that brought me food the whole time I was pregnant from that Chinese food place, the people that help Harry with his albums so everyone in the studio. James Corden and now all of you" I say.
"Harry is a dad. Oh my gosh" she says covering her face and I hear some of the audience crying.
“So are you two like officially together?" She asks and I nod.
"Yeah" I say smiling at her.
"Like dating or marriage because after the news of a whole five year old I can't trust anything else you say" she says and I laugh.
"Just dating, I'm only 25. I'm still trying to figure myself out" I say and she laughs.
"I wouldn't believe that even for a second" she says eyeing me and I laugh.
"Good" I say.
"Good" she says back and then she pauses.
"Wait what?" She asks and I nod.
"What do you mean good?" She asks.
“Ooh that looks like it’s time” I say.
“Uh uh, I need information” she says.
“We have to move on” I say

Marinette Dupain-Cheng’s Spite Playlist: Remix CH7
Happy Valentine’s weekend, my dears! To make up for missing last week, I’m sharing two chapters today. Maybe if you’re all really good, and I have time I’ll share chapter 8 on Sunday. That’s where the fun begins ;) Are you ready for it?

Chapter 7: Shake It Out
My dear sweet Marinette,
How are you, my fairy? I hope that this letter finds you well. When you backpack over Russian mountains, you take whatever mail service you can get. I have so much to tell you about my latest trip, but first I have some exciting news for you!
During my last stay in Africa volunteering to build homes in a humble little village, I ran into a sweet little fairy by the name of Clara Nightingale. She says she met you! Did you know she’s a famous pop star? Anyway, she and I spent a lot of quality time together teaching young children how to read, and I showed her the scarf you knitted me for Christmas. She loved it! She says she will be in Paris again on the 18th and wanted to meet with you about designing for her, so I gave her the address to the bakery. She said she would stop by and see you.
“No way, no way, no way!” Marinette shrieked, kicking her feet. “Clara Nightingale wants me to design for her! I’m gonna faint.”
“This is an amazing opportunity for you, Marinette,” Tikki said as Marinette paced the floor, hugging the letter. “Tomorrow could change your life!”
“I know, Tikki! I’m so excited to- wait.” She stopped abruptly. “Tomorrow?”
“The letter said the 18th,” Tikki said, and Marinette raced over to pull down her calendar. “Isn’t that-”
“Tomorrow! Clara Nightingale is coming to my house. Tomorrow. To look at my designs!” Marinette clutched her cheeks as rapid breaths shook her shoulders. Tikki covered her ears as another scream emitted from Marinette’s throat. “This is a dream come true, Tikki!”
“It’s not that surprising. Gabriel Agreste liked your designs, and Clara attended the show, so it’s not like she’s unfamiliar with your work.” Tikki pointed out. “Plus, you’ve designed for Jagged before too.”
“I know, but getting commissioned by celebrities at 14 isn’t something you just get used to.” Marinette fell onto her chaise with a sigh. “I can’t wait to tell Macy, Eliott, and Martin! They’re gonna freak out.”
“What are you going to do about Chloe?”
Marinette waved it away, reading over the letter again. “I’m going to ignore her. She has no power over me.”
“True…” Tikki said. “But she did have a point. You always look out for your friends.”
“Yeah, but how many of those ‘friends’ came to visit me when I left?” Marinette said pointedly.
“Is that why you left? To see who would come?”
Marinette set the letter down and pursed her lips. “That’s one reason. I wanted to get away, but I also wanted to see who my real friends are,” she said. “I wanted to see who cared enough to chase after me, and I guess Adrien is the only real friend I had after all. Funny how I spent all that time hoping he would notice me when in reality, he’s always been on my side.”
“He thinks really highly of you.” Tikki flitted over to rest beside her.
“I know. My heart was beating so fast when he said those things earlier. Do you think it means he likes me?” Marinette smiled up at her ceiling, biting her lip.
“It definitely means he knows how amazing you are, and I’m sure you can catch his attention romantically too. Especially now that you two are hanging out so much,” Tikki said.
“I feel like all of my dreams are coming true.” Marinette buried her face in the throw pillow with a squeak.
“With everything you give to the city, I think you deserve it,” Tikki said.
“Well, one thing is for sure, I need to defeat Hawkmoth before I become a famous fashion designer and go to New York. That’s priority number one. Chat Noir, Rena- oh-” Marinette sat up abruptly.
“What’s the matter?”
“Well, Alya and Nino are Rena Rouge and Carapace, but after everything… I don’t know if I still trust them,” she said. “I don’t doubt that they would help Ladybug, but if I know who they are, then it might affect me. Do you think I made a mistake picking people close to me?”
“I think that’s a question for someone with more experience picking.” Tikki advised.
Marinette drummed her fingers on her thigh. “You’re right, Tikki. Let’s go.”
Master Fu was playing cards with Wayzz when Marinette knocked on the door and poked her head in. “Master?”
“Marinette, what brings you here?” He lowered his hand calmly.
“I could use some advice. Do you have a minute?”
Wayzz peeked over his cards with a huff. “We are in the middle of a game,” he said matter-of-factly, but Master Fu cast him a sly smile.
“It’s okay.” He splayed his royal flush for Wayzz to see. “I was just winning. What is on your mind?”
Marinette sat on the mat, hugging her knees to her chest as Wayzz zipped off grumpily. Taking a deep breath, she dove in, sparing no details—Volpina, Lila, her friends, changing schools, leaving Alya. Everything. Master Fu listened patiently while she talked, sipping his tea thoughtfully every now and then.
“I’m sorry, Master, but I think I made a mistake picking my friends to be Rena Rouge and Carapace.” She finished, head hanging low. “I don’t think I’m fit to choose our partners anymore.”
“Marinette,” Master Fu said with one of his kind, grandfatherly smiles. “We cannot blame ourselves for the actions of others. Your friends have made choices outside of your control. That does not mean that your judgment was lacking when you picked them. People change, and that is no one’s fault, just the natural order of things.”
“So, you won’t be mad if I pick someone else next time I need help?” Marinette glanced up at him like a small child waiting to be scolded.
“You must pick allies you can trust—whoever that happens to be in the moment,” he said.
“Thank you, Master.” Her shoulders relaxed. “Sorry to interrupt your game.”
“It’s okay. I have a large lead on Wayzz.” He chuckled. “Come back anytime.”
“I will. And next time, I’ll choose people I know I can count on.”

“You’re in an awfully good mood,” Macy remarked as Marinette took her seat in home room.
“Did something good happen? Spill!” Eliott leaned in.
Marinette glanced around the room to ensure their classmates couldn’t hear them. “Can you two keep a secret?”
“Oh, if there’s anything we aristocrats know how to do, it’s keep secrets.” Eliott assured her.
“Yeah, you’re our friend now. You can count on us.” Macy echoed with an encouraging nod.
Marinette bit her lip, leaning in close to whisper, “Clara Nightingale wants me to design for her.”
“No way!” Eliott gasped.
“Marinette, that’s huge.” Macy squealed before regaining her composure. “Don’t worry. We will totally keep it on the down-low, but I can’t wait to see the look on Gabrielle’s face when it goes public.”
“Pretty soon you’ll be buying your own yacht, Marinette,” Eliott said with a laugh. “Speaking of, you still need to see mine.”
“Oh, and we should totally have tea at my house! We just had the theater redone,” Macy added.
“I’d love to,” Marinette said. “Clara is supposed to come over today, so I’ll tell you how it goes.”
“We want all of the details tomorrow,” Macy said as Mr. Mercier entered the room and called for everyone to settle down. “We can rendezvous at my place this weekend.”
“Sounds good.”
When school ended, Marinette rushed home, a giddy smile tugging at her cheeks. What type of design would Clara want? A dress? Or maybe a tasteful pantsuit? Her mind was already buzzing with ideas. Hopefully, she didn’t mess everything up. What if she designed something, and Clara hated it? Or worse what if Audrey Bourgeois slammed her design in the next issue of her magazine because she refused to help Chloe? Then it could ruin Clara’s career, and it would be all Marinette’s fault!
“Hi, sweetie. How was school?” her mom greeted when she entered the bakery.
“Fine, except I have no talent, and I’m going to ruin Clara Nightingale,” she said.
“That’s not true. My daughter has all the talent in the world. She can do anything!” Her dad scooped her into a tight hug. “After all, she comes by it naturally.” He gestured to a large wedding cake resting in the back.
“You’re just nervous, sweetie. You’re going to be great,” her mom said.
The bell above the door chimed, and a woman wearing a hat and sunglasses entered. Marinette’s father put her down and resumed his post in the back while her mother returned to the cash register.
“Welcome! What can we get for you today?” her mom asked politely.
“What I’m after isn’t a sweet treat; there’s someone here I want to meet.” She lowered her sunglasses to peek over at Marinette. “It’s been some time since we’ve seen one another, but your designs are truly like no other.”
“Clara Nightingale! You’re here!” Marinette gasped.
“I want to ask you a request of mine. I’ll run it by you if you’ve got time.”
“Yes, I have so much time!” Marinette said, then composing herself, gestured to the back door. “Why don’t we chat upstairs?”
“Fine by me. This request is top secret, you see,” Clara said. She followed Marinette up to the apartment, and once they were safely away from the public eye, she removed her disguise with a sigh of relief. “Thank you for meeting with me. I assume you read your grandmother’s letter.”
“I did. It arrived yesterday.” Marinette nodded, putting on a pot of tea.
“Excellent! Then you know why I’m here.”
Marinette turned and found herself face-to-face with Clara, nearly dropping the teabags in surprise.
“Ever since I met you, I felt a connection between us like our destinies were entwined. I loved the hat you designed for Adrien, and Jagged has only ever told me great things about you. Then of course, Gina’s scarf was to die for, so, Marinette Dupain-Cheng, would you be willing to design for me?” Clara dropped onto one knee.
“Doesn’t Gabriel Agreste usually design your clothes? Wouldn’t you rather see a professional?” Marinette asked.
“Gabriel’s designs are wonderful, but I think you can capture my essence for this. I’ve been nominated for a music award, and I want you to design my dress for the ceremony.” Clara took her hands with a confident smile. “You and I are both passionate about our crafts, and I think you can bring something that Gabriel can’t, so what do you say?”
Clara’s gaze bore into hers hopefully, and Marinette shifted her weight. “I’ll do my best.” Marinette gulped, and Clara bounced in delight.
“Thank you, Marinette! This favor is one I won’t forget!” Clara pulled her in for a tight hug. “Your willingness means so much, and very soon I’ll be in touch.”
Clara trotted out the door happily, hat and sunglasses in hand, leaving Marinette standing in the kitchen, stunned. She blinked out of her trance when the teapot on the stove screeched and set it aside, barely capable of containing her smile.
She couldn’t wait to tell her friends this.

Adrien removed his fencing gloves with a sigh. Another long day of watching Lila manipulate everyone. Even he had to admit it was getting old, especially since Nino spent most of his free time helping Alya with her deputy duties, which were really Lila’s class representative duties that she came up with excuses to get out of.
He ripped open his locker and tossed the gloves into his bag, thinking back to Marinette’s anguished sobs the previous evening. Seeing her so upset was nauseating in a way Adrien had never felt before. Maybe it was because Marinette was always positive and upbeat, doing her best to help others even when she had problems of her own. Someone like her being so broken and hurt was painful to watch. He wanted to help her in some way, but how could he? He could barely stand up to Chloe, let alone Lila.
“Why the long face?” Kagami’s voice startled him.
He turned to face her as she leaned against the locker next to his.
“Just tired.” He slung his bag over one shoulder with a shrug.
“You’ve been like this for the past week,” she remarked as he paced up the aisle toward the door. “Ever since Marinette left.”
“It’s been a long week. I’ve had a lot going on,” he said flatly.
“You miss her.”
Adrien stopped short at the end of the row and glanced back at Kagami over one shoulder. “Why wouldn’t I? She’s my friend.”
Kagami shoved away from the locker, approaching him slowly—lithe like a cat stalking her prey. “I wonder why she left so suddenly. Rumor has it that she had a jealousy spat with that Italian girl in your class,” Kagami said. “What was her name again? Lie-la?”
“Yeah,” Adrien said curtly, adjusting the strap of his bag.
“She sure has everyone enamored.” Kagami paused beside him and cocked a hip. “Well, almost everyone.”
“Why do you care?” Adrien’s eyes narrowed.
“I don’t.” She shrugged.
“So why bring it up?”
“Because you and I both know the truth, and I suspect Marinette does too.” She tilted her chin to meet his gaze. “She’s a liar.”
Adrien let out a breath, the stiffness in his shoulders fading. “How’d you find out?”
“She claimed that her great grandfather was a world-champion fencer who invented a secret technique, but my family has held the championship title for the last six generations,” Kagami said. “Plus, her stories are so obviously farfetched and self-congratulating.”
“Tell that to everyone else,” he grumbled.
“It’s not really my place. I don’t even go here.” Kagami shrugged again. “Besides, to everyone here, I’m just the ice queen.”
“So, you’re stuck with this knowledge too.” Adrien deflated with a sigh.
“After what happened with Marinette, I have no interest in confronting her. If your classmates want to be sheep, I say let them,” she said. “No sense in letting it upset you. They could easily figure it out if they applied an ounce of brain power.”
“Well, yeah, but she’s using all of them. I thought her lies were harmless, but she has everyone bending over backwards to help her. Now Marinette left the school hurt… I’m starting to get a little fed up.” Adrien averted his gaze, the wave of nausea returning to his stomach.
“So, call her out then,” Kagami said as if it were obvious. “People trust your word, and you have enough celebrity pull to prove it.”
“Yeah, but…” He winced.
“Adrien, your friends will only continue to suffer if you stay silent. Action is the only way to help them.” When he lowered his head, she rolled her eyes and pushed past him. “I hope your friends see the light eventually. For your sake. See you tomorrow.”
Adrien’s hands clenched into fists as she sauntered from the locker room, biting his tongue as anger swelled in his chest. Letting out a heated breath, he stalked toward the door, blinking in surprise when it opened.
Lila stepped in front of him and wasted no time latching onto his neck. “Adrien, you’ve been avoiding me,” she said with her sugary-sweet lilt. “You promised to help me catch up on my school work.”
“Sorry. I don’t think I can. Why don’t you ask Max?” He unhooked her arms and pushed her away gently.
“But you promised!” She pouted.
Her whiny tone sent a shiver down his spine, and he tried unsuccessfully to mask his grimace. “I’ve got a lot going on, Lila. Photoshoots, private lessons, that sort of stuff.” He took a purposeful step away from her.
“You seem to have enough time to go visit Marinette,” she said pointedly, crossing her arms over her chest. “Don’t think I haven’t noticed.”
“Lila-”
“She’s the one who’s lying, ya know. I’m sure she has told you all kinds of nasty things about me, but they’re false,” Lila said. “She’s just trying to turn you against me because she’s jealous.”
“That’s not true, Lila.” Adrien’s anger boiled hotter. “Marinette just wants to move on.”
“Is that why she went to Jagged Stone’s concert just to try to make me look bad?”
“No, that’s not-”
“Alya is still upset over their fight. Marinette ripped her heart out and stomped on it.”
“There’s more to it than tha-”
“Honestly, Marinette is the worst person I’ve ever met.”
Something in Adrien’s chest snapped—a rubber band stretched too far.
“How do I know when I should stand up for myself?”
“I get a feeling in my gut that it’s the right thing to do.”
“Enough, Lila!” he shouted.
She flinched, cupping her hands over her mouth. “Adrien, I-”
“Your lies won’t work on me, and sooner or later everyone else is going to see through you too, and you’ll be left all alone. Is that what you want?” He barely gave her a moment to respond before continuing. “Marinette poured her heart and soul into her friends. She made sacrifices for them and never once asked for anything in return, and now you’ve gone and turned her best friend against her and convinced everyone that she just wanted attention. If anyone here is a terrible person, it’s you.”
Lila’s face hardened, her whole countenance darkening. “I see how it is, Adrien.” Her jaw clenched. “If you choose to side with her over me, then I can’t help what happens to you. I own this school now, and there’s nothing you or Marinette can do about it.”
Turning over her shoulder, she slapped Adrien with her hair on her way out, and he balled his hands into tight fists. A feeling he’d never felt before bubbled in his core that made him restless. Adrien always thought Lila just wanted attention, but purposefully targeting one of his friends was not okay.
A new resolve came over him, and he instructed Gorilla to make a pitstop at the Grand Paris on the way home. His fist pounded against the suite door, breaths short and hot.
Chloe was lounging in a yellow bathrobe, feet soaking in a tub of water when her butler let him in. She raised an eyebrow as he entered. “You know I’m always happy to see you, Adrikins, but I’m in the middle of an herbal soak-”
“I want to help you take down Lila.” He cut her off.
A sinister smirk spread across Chloe’s lips, her shock fading to triumphant glee.
“Excellent.”

Guys Like You Chapter 15
Title: Guys Like You
Chapter: 15
Chapter Summary: "Two lines means pregnant, right?"
Rating: 18+
Warnings: Mentions of pregnancy, miscarriage, illusions to smut and a shitty ex, swearing.
{Prologue} {Chapter 1} {Chapter 2} {Chapter 3} {Chapter 4} {Chapter 5} {Chapter 6} {Chapter 7} {Chapter 8} {Chapter 9} {Chapter 10} {Chapter 11} {Chapter 12} {Chapter 13} {Chapter 14}
Everything seemed so similar to how it was the first time, years ago. The pit in her stomach, her pulse pounding in her ears. The feel of the wrapper when she opened it, the awkward positioning, wondering if she managed to soak it for the required amount of time, the unpleasant task of putting the cap back on the stick to keep urine from getting on anything else. All the same as the last time.
This time however, she also bore the scars from the previous experience. How her hopes had been crushed, how she'd been cast aside. She'd thought he would have been happy for some reason. He didn't use protection, so that meant he must have wanted to build a family with her, right? She had learned that wasn't the case. He was just a selfish prick. She'd waited for an ultrasound, just to fully confirm the life she had inside of her. She'd been thrilled to learn there were two of them. Twins, just like the rest of her family! He'd thrown the picture in the trash the second he realized what it was. He wanted nothing to do with her anymore. She was used goods. Worthless. Trash, just like the picture of her babies.
Now though, her boyfriend was waiting just outside the bathroom door. It had taken some urging to get him to leave the room, actually. It would seem the manner in which the test had to be taken had slipped his mind. An awkward staring contest had ensued before Faye had quietly asked him to leave so she could pee. A rare luxury she had as a mother, to be perfectly honest. He was quick to grant her some privacy after that.
She placed the plastic stick face down and scrubbed her hands thoroughly, wasting as much time as she could before she had to to open the door. Henry was waiting just outside, as he had promised, an unreadable expression on his face. Of course he would keep his emotions hidden for now. He was an actor, after all. No sense in letting her know how much he was freaking out as well, right?
"Well?" Henry asked softly, his hand automatically reaching out for hers, needing to feel her skin on his.
"It takes a couple of minutes to work..."
"Are you alright?" Henry asked softly, gently cupping her jaw and tilting her head to look up at him. Concern. A look she hadn't been accustomed to all those years ago.
"I don't know... I'm scared."
"I'm so sorry I put you in this situation." Henry apologized, carefully pulling her close and wrapping his arms around her. He needed to hold her in that moment, possibly even more than she needed to be held.
"I know you didn't mean to... It's just... well I told you about the last time."
"I'm not him, darling." Henry assured, resting his cheek on her head. "I'm not going anywhere."
"I know, and I keep telling myself that. It's just hard to forget what happened before. For some reason, I thought he would have been happy. I should have known better, honestly. He never thought about anyone but himself."
"I can promise you, I would be incredibly happy to raise more children with you, if that's what you want. If you decide you don't want anymore, that's fine. I'll just have to settle for spoiling Briar even more to make up for it."
"I always pictured myself having a few kids. After having to go through my entire pregnancy alone and the miscarriage, and then having to raise Briar by myself, though... it wasn't easy. It made me wonder if I was even meant to be a mother."
"You're a fantastic mother, Faye. Briar thinks the world of you, and you've done an excellent job raising her, but you don't have to do it alone anymore."
"It's got to be done by now... can you go check it?" Faye asked hopefully.
"Together?" Henry asked, slipping past Faye to grab the stick.
"No, just tell me." Faye requested, chewing the inside of her lip nervously.
"Uhh... two lines means pregnant, right?"
"What?" Faye yelped, staring at him like a deer caught in headlights.
"I'm just looking at the key! There's only one line!" Henry quickly corrected, his eyes going wide when he'd realized his mistake.
"Oh my God,  you asshole!" Faye groaned, throwing her arms around his middle and hiding in his chest.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you like that." Henry apologized, tossing the stick back onto the counter and holding her close.
"I'm so mad at you!" Faye whimpered, her voice muffled by his shirt.
"Would putting on your pretty new dress make you feel better?" Henry offered, smiling to himself at Faye's slow nod. "Then let's both get cleaned up. The sitter should be here in an hour, and I don't think answering the door wet and wearing nothing but a towel is a good first impression."
"You'd kill the poor girl if you did that." Faye snorted, tilting her head back and resting her chin against his chest.
"We need her to live. Someone has to watch Briar while we got get unreasonably drunk."
"Planning on drinking a lot tonight, my love?" Faye asked, raising a brow at him.
"Oh we are both definitely drinking tonight. It's a celebration and you've just been given the go ahead for drinking."
"But if we're both drunk, who's going to be the responsible one?'
"That's why we're hiring a sitter. We can both be irresponsible, at least for one night."
"Fine, but I'm taking the first shower." Faye sighed, pulling away and slipping down the hall, giving Henry a confused look when he followed right after, already stripping his shirt off the second he got into their bedroom. "What do you think you're doing?"
"Playing lifeguard." Henry taunted, shooting her a shit eating grin.
"Is that a polite way of saying jacking off while I'm showering?"
"Well you could always lend me a hand." Henry offered, already working on his belt.
"We only have an hour before the sitter gets here!"
"That forty five minutes more than I need." Henry growled, shoving the rest of his clothing down his legs, kicking them off, and snatching her up.
Faye felt the need to point out that his estimation of fifteen minutes had been a bit lean. It was almost half an hour before they reemerged from the bathroom. Henry tried to argue that they spent some of the time actually bathing, though he knew it was a pointless debate. All it took was Henry taking her dress from the closet, still in it's protective bag and laying it on the bed for her to drop the subject entirely.
"It's so pretty!" Faye sighed as she unzipped the bag, running her hands over the soft fabric. It was a soft grey dress, the skirt made of tulle and a structured corset like top to it. Henry had insisted she go with the grey after she'd tried on numerous other colorful options. All the color suited her bright personality, but clashed with her already brightly colored hair, and took away from the shimmer in her smile and the wide innocence she held in her eyes. In the grey, she shined. She was the center of attention instead of what she was wearing. It enhanced all of her wonderful qualities instead of competing with them. Henry had no doubt she would be the one on everyone's minds tonight.
Most of the drive there was spent with Henry trying to coach Faye on what to do. He knew how terrifying everything could be, and he knew people would have a lot of questions, mostly about who she was. He instructed her to just keep her eyes on him to avoid being overwhelmed by the crowd and the flashing cameras. He didn't expect her to talk to anyone, and advised against saying anything to anyone that was recording or looked like any type of journalist, especially without him there. He knew they tended to twist words and make mountains out of molehills, and he didn't want any more stress on her than necessary.
None of it felt real until the driver finally came to a halt, Faye spying the waiting crowd for the first time. Sure, she had been expecting some people. It was the season two premiere of a Netflix hit show. She just didn't know it would be this many. She wasn't a fan of crowds at the best of times. Now, she was debating on just having the driver take her back home.
"Eyes on me." Henry reminded her, smiling brightly when her brown doe eyes met his blue gaze. "None of that matters, it's just us." He assured, taking a slow deep breath which Faye mirrored before his door was opened and he stepped out, shooting a charming smile at the crowd as he buttoned his suit coat, the flashes of the cameras temporarily blinding him.
He turned back around and offered Faye his hand, seeming to relax more himself when she delicately rested her hand in his and slid from the car. Just as he expected, the cameras picked up into an absolute frenzy, everyone eager to get a picture of the mystery woman accompanying Henry Cavill at such an important event.
Brushing off their questions was easy enough for Henry, simply replying with "She's gorgeous, isn't she?" Whenever anyone asked who she was and moving along. That did nothing to quell the 'news' stories that popped up later that night and into the next day, all calling for who this mystery woman was and what her relationship to Henry was, however.
He had happened upon it by chance, just scrolling through his newsfeed on Facebook. It wasn't the title that caught his attention, however. It was the picture of her face, that bright smile he'd only seen in old pictures and those same wide eyes, now locked on someone else like he was the only man in the world. She thought she could just move on like that? Didn't that idiot know she was used goods? Nothing but a whore that would try to trap him into something for the rest of his life.
"That bitch!" He hissed, feeling his blood boil. Did she really think she could get away with embarrassing him like this? Going around and flaunting what being a whore could do for someone? No, he wasn't going to allow it. She was his, and it was time she stopped all of her nonsense and came back.

I love Eda. I just… LOVE how great of a parent she is, how she always makes it clear to Luz that she doesn’t expect anything of her, like in the Season Finale when she tells Luz that it’s not her fault, that Luz is a kid and she shouldn’t expect herself to rescue Eda; Eda made her own decisions, Luz is a CHILD and she needs to prioritize her own wellbeing! She is perfect and lovable as-is, Luz doesn’t have to do anything to earn Eda’s love…
And then when Luz chickens out of fighting Grom, Eda doesn’t hold it against her! She tells Luz that it’s okay to make mistakes, that it’s fine for her to get in over her head, Luz isn’t a bad person for not living up to her role as a ‘hero’ to take on Grom… She’s just a kid, she shouldn’t have to handle this- And again, it’s not dismissive of Luz, either! When Eda reiterates to Luz that she’s a child, and that it’s best for the adults to be responsible in providing actual support and care towards Luz (and that she is rightfully entitled to that care), she doesn’t patronize Luz! Eda doesn’t remind Luz is a child to dismiss her, she does it to reassure her…
And I really love how Eda is making it clear to Luz that this girl deserves so much, that she’s right to ask for things- She’s not being greedy, and she’s not being a burden! Luz deserves the world and the chance to fully indulge herself and who she is… Eda has no expectations for Luz, she just wants to support Luz in whatever she chooses to come, while occasionally providing protection and support- Because she’s an adult. And Eda wants Luz to understand that adults and parents (surrogate or otherwise) are 100% expected to do the best for kids, and that children shouldn’t hold themselves to any standards or expectations put upon them.
Like the beginning of The First Day! It’s a funny joke, but also so sweet and meaningful, how Eda keeps giving Luz the chance to back out… She’s not actively dissuading Luz from joining Hexside, she’s just making it clear that if Luz ever decides to change her mind, she’s valid! Eda’s not going to hold it over her head, say I Told You So… Eda just wants the best for Luz and she trusts Luz’s judgment on what’s the best for herself. If Luz changes her mind and decides to back out of Hexside, then she’s perfectly valid- Just as she’s valid for going to Hexside in the first place! Luz isn’t a coward, Eda isn’t going to harshly hold her to her word or anything… Luz is allowed to make mistakes, Eda wants Luz to know that she’ll never force her to do something that truly makes her uncomfortable. Eda’s not going to hold it against Luz if she’s ever wrong about anything, all Eda wants is to be a safety net for Luz, so that Luz is free to explore different options as much as she wants without having to worry about being hurt in the process!
Eda isn’t encouraging Luz to be a Quitter… She’s just letting the girl know that this an option, without trying to undermine Luz’s decision to go to Hexside, if she decides to go through with it in the end. Eda makes it clear to Luz that there’s no shame in prioritizing one’s health and safety over proving a point, she’s here to relieve any burdens from Luz… And Luz, this means SO MUCH to her! I don’t think she’s ever had an adult who’s been so unconditionally accepting and supportive before… The closest was her mother Camila, but as a single mom and a nurse, you KNOW Camila’s job is busy enough to create a distance between her and Luz, amidst Camila admittedly not accepting Luz’s ‘quirks’, and lumping them in as the same as her character flaws at the beginning of the show.
I doubt Camila ever thought of it that way, nor did she ever implicate it- But when you’re inscure and lonely like Luz, and you rightfully feel bad for your mother who’s incredibly stressed and constantly working to pay bills and accommodate their child… It can make a kid feel like a burden sometimes, no matter how hard Camila may try not to let Luz feel that way. It’s why the Boiling Isles is amazing for Luz- She definitely had love from Camila, but the Boiling Isles, and the Owl House specifically, provides an environment where Luz can actually feel safe and free to explore herself, without any particular system bearing down on her.
Granted, there IS the Coven System, so Luz didn’t exactly escape that… But for the most part, there’s a certain relief granted to Luz ever since she arrived on the Boiling Isles. And, I think Camila would be incredibly happy to see her daughter so at ease and away from the burdens of their life in the human world, with a surrogate parent who has the time, energy, and wisdom to provide so much for Luz, when Camila otherwise has to focus on putting food on the table.
I just… LOVE Eda, and I want the best for Camila as well, so having her meet Eda would be great! And I just really appreciate how while Eda knows she’s not perfect and that even she has much to learn from life… She’s still clearly learned a lot. She never dismisses Luz and lets her feelings be valid while taking them into account, like when she responds to Luz’s complaints in Adventures in the Elements… Eda doesn’t want to burden Luz and make the girl feel obligated to be her caretaker as the curse gets worse.
She prioritizes Luz so much more than just a means to an end, or a student to show off her teaching prowess- Yeah she made that initial mistake in Covention, but clearly Eda has grown since then! You can really tell that Eda learned and encourages others to be themselves, how she’s grappled with a system with such expectations and rejected it, and how it influences the way she interacts with other characters. She experienced first-hand a conformative system, and Eda decided that nobody else should ever have to feel like how she, or any of her peers, ever did! Eda was so badly hurt and traumatized, but she never got bitter. She never got entitled. Eda didn’t use her pain nor her trauma as an excuse to lash out at others, or as a justification for any flaws and mistakes on her own end.
Eda certainly doesn’t want to project onto people, she wants people to exist completely free of any kind of restraints like that, and she’ll fight even herself to ensure the best for everyone! Because that’s just what Eda wants… the best for everyone, and she’s no doubt SO proud of Luz for managing to make a change that really implements this wish, even if Eda doesn’t hold Luz to keep up with this role. Eda always makes sure to remind Luz, consistently, that she’s free to do pursue whatever path she wants for herself, that Eda isn’t going to be disappointed in her, and that Eda is THERE to provide for Luz and take the burden for her- Because Luz is a kid, so she deserves to just go out, and enjoy herself!
Eda tells Luz that she has a lot to offer the world herself- That Eda WILL listen to her, that Luz is so smart and clever and wise in her own way. Eda makes Luz feel valid and understood by actively listening to her, Eda reassures Luz that she isn’t just some dumb kid- Luz’s ideas have plenty of worth in their own right, Luz can teach Eda a lot herself as well! And it’s all just so… HONEST, refreshing, and validating to see Eda be so upfront and take so much initiative into providing this kind of reassurance, verbally and out loud without any room for doubt, to Luz! Eda isn’t trying to be coy, she’s honest and communicative, genuine, and upfront about who she is, and what she believes in!
In a sense, Eda’s kind of illuminating in her own way, like Luz, showing Luz that she’s not a freak nor a loser or idiot, but a wonderful and creative person! Which fits, because Luz and Eda are two sides of the same coin! It really is refreshing and relieving to see such a mature, kindly, and providing mentor/parental figure. Eda will never blame Luz or try to hold her accountable to someone else’s mistakes, least of all of her own… Luz deserves to be completely unvinvolved and free of that kind of mess.
Eda makes it clear to Luz that it’s not Luz who’s the failure, it’s the adults/system who are at fault for not being good enough… It’s so genuinely selfless, and in a way that still provides plenty of room for Eda to be herself, and to encourage Luz to do the same! Eda really went through a lot of missed-out experiences and decided that everybody else should get them, without forcing these experiences onto people to vicariously live out a missed youth, either! Luz and Eda really feed and play into one another as such a healthy and loving dynamic and relationship… It’s just UTTERLY WHOLESOME, and my heart can’t take it!

To be seen, part Two (Frankie Morales x reader)
Summary : You somehow get closer to the boys, as an old acquaintance shows up..
Author’s note : The movie is definitely Portrait of a Lady on Fire.
Part one :  Here
------
Life went on, and despite the occasional stories Jessie told you - she had a favorite now, Will, and you could see why - Benny and his friends became a distant memory. Then, September came along, and with it, preschool for Clara. That meant changes for you too. You’d take mostly night shifts at the bar, now, just so Jessie could work while Clara was at school and spend her evenings with her. Mildred, the other mom on the team, was already working days. But yeah, your babysitting days ? They were mostly over. Once you got Jessie through her little meltdown because her babygirl was growing so fast, it felt weird to have your life back to yourself. You found out you were giddy.
There was so much to do and see, and you had a regular schedule now. You didn’t stop to think about the fact you hadn’t had a holiday in ages, which is why it came as a surprise when you basically slept through most of the days the first two weeks.
You admitted as much to Jessie, one Sunday evening, sitting on her porch, sipping a beer as you both watched Clara play with a small red truck. Jessie made fun of you for that, but, after a beat, quietly admitted :
« It feels good. I feel like I have more time for myself. I can rest, you know ? Things are … better, I guess. »
Right then, with the sun slowly coming down, the world a soft shade of orange, and Clara babbling right in front of you, you understood what she meant. Neither of you moved, even after you’d both finished your beers. You fell into easy chatter, until Clara showed signs of exhaustion.
When you headed home, it was dark, but it felt good not to have to sleep on Jessie’s couch anymore.
———
You were sweating.
You were sweating and Anna was running around like she was Usain freaking Bolt and the young man the boss had finally hired to help in the kitchen was not helping in the kitchen at all because there was so many patrons he was needed in the main room. You thanked the deities Phil was very good at what he was doing because you were truly understaffed here.
And also : not used to it.
The fact that you’d previously not worked every Saturday evening meant you hadn’t quite had to go through that particular circle of hell.
And then, as soon as it started, the rush was over. Not that people had left, but suddenly, you could catch a break. Anna came back next to you, behind the counter and just slumped on the wall, next to the coffee machine.
« Good job, handling that. » smiled Santiago from his perch on the other side of the counter. He’d come in a bit earlier, alone. That had raised questions from Anna, even though you figured she was now too tired to even care that he was here. Jessie would be ashamed of both of you. You nodded, as you saw Phil come out of the kitchen and walk towards you. He sent Anna on a break with a pat on her shoulder, took her spot against the wall and mumbled to you, quiet enough so that Santiago or other patrons couldn't hear :
« We really need to talk to the boss about that. »
You nodded again - you weren’t quite sure your mouth was still working. It had to, though, because you spotted Benny, his brother and the other guy - Frankie, you remembered - walking in. The kid (whatsisnameagain?) walked hurriedly towards them but they gestured towards the counter, leaving him to watch the room anxiously, trying to spot if anyone needed anything. Out of politeness - or rather, because it was your damn job - you asked Santiago if they needed a table. He shrugged. You chose to take it as a no. You smiled in greetings at the new patrons, and Benny exclaimed :
« You’re back ! »
« Yeah. I’m back. »
As you were about to push yourself from the coffee machine you had left yourself slump on, Phil’s hand went to your shoulder and he whispered, quiet again :
« Go take a break, I’ll handle it. »
You frowned.
« Phil, they’re not  »
« That’s not why I’m telling you to take a break. You’re trembling. Go for a walk, have a smoke, something. »
You made a gesture towards the coffee machine.
« That, though, is off limits, » growled Phil. « No coffee. Go. »
You watched as he pushed himself from the wall and asked their orders. Then, admitting your defeat, you left through the backdoor and let the cool air ease your mind. You fished for a cigarette and spotted Anna, sitting right on the ground, sipping tea.
« So, he’s hot. »
« Who ? » you asked.
« Santiago. »
« Too old for you. » you reminded her.
She turned to you and wiggled her eyebrows. You countered :
« Meh, not my type. »
And that was true. He was hot in a way that made him inapprochable. You didn’t go for guys like that. Though, you thought about the fact that both Anna and Jessie were still obsessed with theses guys after months and that you were playing along and you groaned.
« We need to get a life. »
Anna simply hummed. She let her head fall on your shoulder, just for a bit. You finished your cigarette and tapped her thigh.
Time to get back to work.
———
« So, she’s gone then, your friend ? »
You had just handed a beer to Will when he asked. It was a thing, now : when the place was too crowded, they’d sit at the counter instead of taking a table. It didn’t happen every time, but enough that you’d had to make small talk once in a while. That, though, was new.
Benny and Frankie were in deep conversation and Santiago was -
Ah.
Santiago was not going home alone, tonight.
« My friend ? »
« You know, the lady that tended the bar on Saturday nights, before. »
You shook your head.
« Nah, but her kid started preschool so we had to make arrangements. She works during the day, now. »
« Preschool ? That makes her kid about as old as Frankie’s kid, then. Hey Fish ! Didn’t your kid start preschool too ? »
That got Frankie’s attention and you winced. You actively tried not to talk too much to Frankie. Or to look at him too much. There was something about him, about the way he fumbled with his cap, about the curls of his hair, about his eyes and his hands. Something soft.
(So yeah, you’d looked a lot, but you couldn’t help yourself.)
Will went on about Jessie’s kid, preschool, and you caught the name of the little girl - Maria. Frankie, never the talker, was nodding, a kind smile on his face. You explained how Jessie freaked out at first, how it had changed a lot of things for both of you. Benny asked :
« For you too ? »
You realized that you had said too much. Jessie probably didn’t want some random strangers she had a crush on to know she was a single mother struggling and you didn’t want them to know the only life you had revolved around Jessie and her kid. You tried to keep your answer as evasive as possible.
« I’m around a lot. Friends, right ? »
The two brothers nodded, smiles a bit too tight on their face. Frankie was looking at his beer bottle. There was something there, something you didn’t quite catch but it felt like you had just said the wrong thing. Trying to light up the room, you asked if any of them wanted a refill. Frankie fished for something in his pocket.
« Actually » he started, « I should head home. »
But before he could get his wallet out, Santiago appeared out of thin air, right behind him, grabbed him by the shoulder and said :
« He’s gonna have another one. All of us actually. Drinks on me. »
The two brothers cheered at that, even though Benny said something about Santiago being full of shit about paying. Frankie complied at his friend’s request and stayed. As you were handing out the refills, you saw Will and Santiago exchange a look as the latter sat back down with his friends. Turning around, you took a look at the woman he had been flirting with and wondered if things didn’t work out, in the end, though you somehow doubted it.
When you handed Frankie his drink, he smiled, showing a single dimple. You made the mistake of looking into his eyes and something in your belly grew warm. You felt like you were wrapped up in a blanket, on a rainy day, watching Laggies and drinking hot chocolate, your cat Starbuck sleeping in your lap. You couldn’t help but smile back, even though you knew you were screwed. Not for the first time, you were glad for the safety of the counter, though usually it was because it protected you from unsavory patrons. Right now, though, without it, you didn’t know what you would’ve done. Leaned in a bit, maybe ? You were sure he smelled good.
You turned around quickly and busied yourself, trying not to think about how Frankie smelled.
What was wrong with you ?
———
You finally managed to get that movie Linda had told you about, or rather : that movie you had told Linda about but never got around to watch it and in the end she had watched it before you could. You’d been grocery shopping when you’d seen the DVD and you’d taken that as a sign from the universe itself because why on earth would that small French movie be on display here ?
So you’d taken it.
You were about to press play when you got a text from Linda herself. It was a selfie. She hadn’t changed much, you noticed. Her hair was slightly shorter, and she wore glasses now, but she looked almost the same as she did five years ago. You were so focused at the relief you felt at not feeling anything but fondness that it took you a minute to recognize where she was. A second text popped up :
Was hoping to catch you !
She was at the bar. You thought for a second, there. It was your day off, and you were not in the mood to go back to your workplace for a drink. But Linda was there, hoping to catch you, so you got up anyway, turned off the TV, put your shoes on and walked through the door.
The thing was : everything with her had always been easy. So you didn’t feel nervous going there. You didn’t give a second thought to the way you were dressed, or what the two of you could talk about. You were slightly curious, though, as to why she was here.
The bar was slightly crowded, but nothing big for a Thursday. You spotted her immediately and navigated your way through the tables to get to her when you spotted a sign that made you stop in your tracks and snort.
Santiago was flirting with her.
You watched for a few seconds, and closed the distance with the table, eager to put Linda out of her misery.
« You know, Santiago, one of these days, you’ll get an harassment suit on your ass. » you joked, putting a hand on his shoulder.
He playfully shrugged your hand off, and said :
« Nah, I understand it when I’m not wanted. No means no and shit, you know. But, one of these days, I’ll get you to call me Santi. Only my mother calls me Santiago. »
You snorted again. Clearly, if he was still hitting on the raging lesbian that was Linda, his radar was way off.
« Well, back off, Santiago. That’s my seat. »
« Oh. Girls’ night. I see. Well, I’ll leave you two ladies to it. »
He still extended his hand to Linda, who’d been watching with a small smile on her face.
« Lovely meeting you, Linda. If you ever wanna grab a drink. »
« You’re not my type, Santi. »
She shook his hand anyway. And then, it was just the two of you, together. There was a pause, there, as you smiled at each other before Linda got up and wrapped her arms around you. As you took a sit, you figured it was going to be a good night.
———
« And then, Starbuck tried to jump in the closet, missed and fell on my mom who screamed like she’d seen a ghost. »
Linda was laughing so hard you worried for a minute she would choke. You’d both moved to the counter. Once the the kitchen was closed, Phil had joined you. When she had recovered from the story, Linda quipped :
« I can’t believe you called your cat Starbuck. You’re such a nerd. »
Seeing Phil didn’t get it, she explained :
« It’s a callsign in Battlestar Galactica, the TV show. Starbuck is her favorite character. When I met her, she kept saying stuff like « what do you hear ? Nothing but the rain ». Sometimes she would listen to that bloody song for days, over and over, drove my crazy. »
« Hey, » you protested with mock indignation. « All along the watch tower is a classic. »
« Guess we found your callsign, then. »
You turned around to see Frankie smiling at you. He greeted Phil with a handshake as you, trying really hard not to get flustered, introduced him to Linda. The way she looked at you, you knew you hadn’t fooled her. There would be questions.
« Could I talk to you for a second ? I know you’re not working right now but it’s kinda important. »
He lifted his cap and ruffled his hair a bit.
« No, it’s fine. Guys, I’m going for a smoke », you told Linda and Phil.
Before leaving, you pointed a finger at Linda and threatened :
« Do not tell Phil any compromising stories. »
« No promises. »
Frankie kinda grabbed your elbow, then, to guide you outside. Nothing much, barely a touch but you felt like your skin was buzzing. You were tapping your fingers on the side of your thigh and your hands were a bit unsteady as you tried and lit your cigarette. You hoped he didn’t notice. The way he said here, let me and took the lighter from your hands showed you he did, but he didn’t say anything about it.
« Listen, » he started, a hand in his hair again, « the boys and me, we were wondering … I mean, tonight we’re kinda … we … »
He stopped and let the noise of the street wash over the two of you. You’d never seen him like that, and you didn’t know what to do about it. Hell, you’d never been alone with him. After a while, he took a deep breath and :
« A friend of us died last year, on this day. »
You probably stopped breathing. Whatever you had been expecting, that wasn’t it.
« And so, well, the thing is : he has a daughter. She’s gonna turn 17 in a month or so and well, let’s just say that for a number of reasons, we’re not gonna be invited to the birthday party. So we were wondering if, you know, since we like this place … »
« Frankie, » you stopped him, a hand shooting up on his arm to steady him as much as yourself because this was a lot of information. « Yes, you can celebrate her birthday here. Just make a reservation and if you want a special cake, ask Phil. »
He sighed, rubbed a hand on the back of his neck as his eyes fell on your hand. You removed it, and took a drag from your cigarette.
« Sorry, I probably didn’t need to tell you all of this but tonight, it’s … It’s a lot. »
You simply nodded, not trusting yourself to speak. What could you even say in that kind of moment ? You’d lost a grand-father, a few years back, and a great-grand mother sometime after but you never had to grieve a friend. And, a bit like that moment a few weeks ago when everybody grew awfully silent when you mentioned you were around for Jessie, you wondered what it meant that we’re not gonna be invited for the birthday party.
It was easy to forget they were ex-military, mostly because they never talked about it. You talked about Benny’s fights mostly, and, on that one occasion, about Frankie’s daughter, but you knew nothing about them, you realized. That’s what made that little fantasy thing you had going both with Anna and Jessie possible. But suddenly you had a sneak peek at something so very personal you didn’t quite know how to handle it. You didn’t quite know what it meant.
On a whim, desperate to lighten whatever that was, you asked :
« How’s Maria ? »
His head shot up at that. His smile was blinding.
« She’s perfect. »
You finished your cigarette, then, and allowed Frankie to take you by the elbow again. Before he let go, he squeezed and said, eyes heavy behind the hood of his cap :
« Thank you … Starbuck. »
This time, his smile was teasing and your own laughter couldn’t be contained.

The Dream of a Normal Life
by @cornytyrannosaurus
The fresh breeze of the Norwest lands scurred between the mountains, between the hills, beneath the trees, until it reached the nostrils of a young man inside a van which was stationed atop a hillside.
He breathed deep, filling his tired lungs with the soft breeze and all the scents it brought from every corner of the undying forest. His always hurried mind took this moment of serenity to fuel itself back to be awake, he already processing within his blurred thoughts all the duties of the day.
Mile 82, 54. Mile 21, 12 up to date. We go downhill until…
Then he opened his eyes, and the list stopped. He saw her, gently snoring in her sleep, her hands improvising a pillow. He smiled, recalling how annoying she could get when her hands felt sore; but what to do about it? She looked just too adorable right now to be awoken just for the sake of a mere slumbering formality. Her neon-stained, raggedy hair fitted with her purple sleeveless shirt, the only piece of cloth she was wearing in her sleep. He rolled his eyes down to her nude legs, remembering with heated fondness how much he made her to feel loved last night. Maybe he should put the blanket over such gorgeous sight, he thought. Unfortunate, but necessary.
Heavily, he put the brown blanket over her underside, to stop at her slightly inflated belly. His eyebrows dropped, reminding the main why of her needing to feel loved last night. She was having one of those delicate hormonal moments, a thing he took years to get accustomed and now was proving itself really useful during these uncertain times.
Uncertain, never better though.
He gave a quick kiss on her forehead, rolled his body around in search of his clothes, and hurriedly put his pants on.
He opened the backdoors, sat at the edge of the white van they lived in now, and took a long look at the immediate surroundings.
The gigantic mountains came across his sight like an unfathomable Leviathan welcoming his life with its majestic shape. Around him and all across the hillside, countless trees of all shapes and sizes covered the outline of horizon like a fortress for their tiny kingdom of intimacy and solitude. What he could give for them to have a tiny home where to start a family at a place like this, he could not tell but was certain in it.
Then he heard the growls coming from the trees, and he recalled they were just passing by.
A couple of man-sized hoofed monstrosities ran wild from between the depths of the forest, galloping over the concrete and disappearing behind another line of old pine trees. Their countless mouths filled with human-like crooked teeth, placed all across their headless, dark furry bodies, screeched continuously as they waved their long rat-like black tails at the fresh airs of the of morning.
Aaaaaaw f*ck.
Tagging eldritch creatures in a national park wasn’t precisely his dream job, but was quite within the spectrum of skills of the Mystery Twins, and as these non-euclidean beasts began to reproduce, they found themselves at a chance of getting a good source of income at the aftermath of events he didn’t want to remember right now.
If only his mind could listen to him to stop rerunning the horrible memory of that day.
Before sorrow had the chance to overtake his heart, he felt the warm of a pair of arms circling his tummy, a pair of legs caressing his, and a slightly inflated belly gently pressing his back. He smiled in relief; he hadn’t figured yet how she was able to slip across surfaces.
“Good morning, Dipdop” she murmured in his ear with seductive tone.
“’Morning, Mabes” he said back, turning his head to kiss her cheek, and then her lips, to go back to look at the hill.
“Why are yah awake so early? I wanted to spoon yah” She asked, squishing his belly with her arms”
“Dunno, just… wanted to start earlier today” He said with slow content.
“Before breakfast? You gotta be kiddin’ me” she said with pretended anger.
“You’ll never let me to skip it, will you?” He mustered with a grin.
“Nope, I won’t” She asserted. “Besides…” she said, as she squished her legs around his.
“Besides?”
“I’m still just in my shirt” she whispered at his ear. His grin grew bigger, as his sister slipped back from where she came and he rolled around to follow her.
“But what about the breakfast?” He asked with fake indignation.
“First this breakfast, then food breakfast”
“Mhmm, I like the plan…” He said as he closed the van’s door behind him.
It wasn’t the most conventional form of Love, nor the beginning of a normal life. But it was theirs to live , and they loved it anyway.
At least there, away from the unsuspecting and prejudiced eyes of the world, they were free.
If only the world could know the pain it could cause.
- Six months ago…
Mabel Pines had endured many terrifying moments in her life. When Dipper broke his leg at their kickboxing practice, when she was at the hands of a gigantic childish mechanoid, when her brother was about to be devoured by a living corpse, when she was about to be erased from existence by a extradimensional pyramid god, when she got lost in that trip to the unknown… but these immediate moments were heaving in her stomach more than any of that. Maybe it was because those moments were a little far in her memory, or because her resistance to cringe was absolutely superior to her brother’s. Or maybe it was because this time, the impending threat came from within her very own family.
And now she was frozen in place inside the van, watching how Dipper stood over the grass of the family home, his forehead bleeding and his face turning to their parents, his shape contrasted between the darkness of the night and the porch’s lamp.
Maybe they weren’t as angry and freaked out as they were an hour ago, but their resolution wasn’t something they were willing to accept. Right now, Mason “Dipper” Pines was standing against the destruction of his incoming family.
“Dipper, please… be reasonable. There is no way out of this” His father reassured, trying to appeal to his intellect, trying to undo the damage of the wound he had done to his own son. But Dipper had already cried, so the wound would stay a long time.
“No” Dipper pronounced in crackly voice.
His mother approached to him a couple of steps more, heartbroken for the glance of their own children at them. “Dipper, you’re not in your right mind, you don’t-”
“No, Mom!” Dipper yelled high. “We-we tried, we really really tried. But it didn’t matter how much we tried, how much we were honest with you. You didn’t listen, and you are still not listening. You look at us like if we were just a couple of f*cking monsters!”
“Dipper… You won’t be able to live a normal life with Mabel” His father told with serious tune. Again, they weren’t listening; again, they were mistaking their love for another crooked urge they needed to repress to have fulfilling lives. If only they knew.
“Well.. maybe we don’t want one!” Dipper finally shouted, turning around to walk aimlessly to his van.
Their parents only watched impotent how their beloved children drove away from home, and away from their lives…
“Mhm… so… I’ll want a French-Fry-Fantasy and a Slurpy Surprise” the young woman finally chose her meal options from between the short menu in the grease-stained paper sheet. It was kind of her personal politics about road restaurants to “choose the weirdest dishes in the menu or don’t say yourself worthy of a road trip”. The waitress with curly black hair and more freckles than space in the face to have them, could read for her bun hairstyle, her capri pants and her lots of laces and bracelets on her arms, that she was the extroverted and adventurous of them.
“I’ll want a pancake plate and a coffee, thanks” the man said instead. Judging by the old flannel coat and his black pants, he was the quiet one. The young waitress tried not to smile too much at the enormous contrast between their breakfast options, pondering in her mind how so alike persons could have such starkly different personalities. Anyhow, they made such a lovely couple, one of those who brighten the day of a service worker doomed to attend uncourteous people the rest of the day just like she was.
“Oh right, so a coffee cup, a Slurpy Surprise, a pancake plate and a French-Fry-Fantasy” The waitress repeated as the couple at the table nodded in agreement. “Ok, your order will be done in 10; anything else?”
“Nope, that’s all; thanks” he answered with kind tone.
“Okie dokie” The waitress said. “Oh! And congrats for your baby!” The waitress said before to leave.
“Owww thank you so much!” she said in joyful tune, making the waitress to enlarge her smile as she left to attend the order.
The young woman turned her attention back to her brother, moving over her seat with impatient joy. It was one of those days where the world seemed that friendly at them; after an inconceivable quantity of bad days in between, both had learned to appreciate them.
“Gosh I’m so hungry!” she exclaimed, enthusiastic at the edge of childishness.
“Yeaaah I kinda doubt ten minutes will be enough for your order” he asserted, resting his elbows on the table, looking out the window for a moment.
“Ooh, hush you there, bro-man! Have a little of faith in these peoples; they’re experts!” she dismissed.
“Experts in road restaurant dishes?” He asked with a raised eyebrow.
“Yep, I’m sure they attend to a special college for restaurant workers and stuff” she said with erudite-like pride.
“I did!” the old cook behind the bar yelled at their table with a stoic smile, raising his spatula. Maybe they were talking too high for a public place, but as they were currently the only customers it did not seem like it mattered at first. He usually would beg for her to slow down a little, due to the obvious need for them to conceal their true identities, but given the events of last night, he was simply happy to see her so free and being herself.
“You see? Road restaurant experts” She finally asserted as she raised her arms in a gesture of obviousness.
“Ok, I’ll eat my words along my pancakes” Dipper commented with an ironical smile.
“Yes you will, you will” She asserted, bopping his nose with the tip of her finger. Suddenly, she got aware the sorrow behind her brother’s eyes, and she worried. “What’s up, Dip?”
He paused for a couple of seconds in which his always hurried mind deliberated. She didn’t like unnecessary dramas, but she also liked him to be honest, as they had committed themselves to be. So after that instant that felt eternal, he spoke.
“Dunno, kinda… I know you’ll just tell me it was some kind of hormone rush or whatever but… I really…”
“Hey, it’s ok, Dip” she interrupted him, taking his hands with hers over the table. “I guess I was just… scared about the call Mom and Dad made and…”. For a moment, she thought she could express better by enacting, so she leaned across the space between them to rob him a deep kiss, to just after returning to her seat. “I want this, Dipper. I want all of this” She said, her eyes getting moisty.
“We’re just that crazy, aren’t we?” he asked with a moved smile. She was that fantastic and brave he couldn’t contain his love for her.
“And I couldn’t be happier for it” She asserted. He raised his hand to caress her cheek. Maybe it was the magical pregnacy hormones he had heard about in documentaries, or the strange and unnamed dimensions of their mutual love reacting again for a full catharsis potential, but she looked especially beautiful this morning, and (as energetically as he showed how much he loved her earlier at the van) she deserved to feel it. “To heck with a normal life” she cited from him as both just stared each other until the dishes were ready.
- Six months ago…
Dipper was quiet, as he had been all the way the long long time of driving lasted until the gas ran out near San Francisco Bay. He hadn’t said a word, nor even tried to clean his face of the blood; anyone with no idea of what really happened could have thought he was just coming out from a horror scene.
The unnerving silence was the exact kind Mabel recognized perfectly; she knew exactly what he was thinking and why he was thinking it. The waves of fear and regret and self-hatred and so many other things too deep to have a name. She let him have his inner battle, because Dipper Pines was the man of resolutions; but at some point she got aware he was just self-loathing again. Self-loathing for loving his sister in unexpected and strange ways she also felt. Self-loathing for stripping her dreams away just because he said he wanted to be with her and promising they would fight together whatever it would take. Self-loathing about the fact he actually accomplished his promise and now faced the true, palpable consequences of not having a plan this time. If he only had a plan, if he only…
“Dipper!” Mabel yelled at him, and he raised the head to look at her. His wound had closed enough for his blood over his face to dry a little, but the scar was still cutting his birthmark at half.
“I…”
“No. Don’t you ever dare to say you’re sorry about this. And you know what? It’s because this is not your fault, Dipper!”
“Bu-“
“But nothing, Dipper! It was Dad the one who punched you, it was Mom the one who pushed me, it was them the ones who wanted to… to wanted to…”; Mabel couldn’t even pronounce the fact that her own parents wanted to kill their unborn grandchild. “This is the part where I get all serious and say to you: We did everything we could. It didn’t work, eh? Well, we just move on and keep going forward! Because we have each other, just like we always had!” Mabel said, half crying, half smiling. Dipper smiled as well, because he knew it was true. He had saved the universe (now more than once), living in it was the least of the problems if they were that powerful together. At least, as powerful as their love was.
“To heck with a normal life” He said with trembling lips as they approached each other and kissed fiercely. Young? For sure. Inexperienced? As every young adult. Willing to face the full grasp of all the risks, the current perils, and unexpected tangents of becoming a wandering couple of roadside adventurers? As few souls in the whole Creation were.
-
It had been a tiring day. Some unseen thing had tried to eat his leg; some random stone had pierced a tire and they had to wait until a car stopped to help them and the muscled father of the family aided them to change the tire; they had tagged 328 adults and 58 younglings within the 36 nests across 28 hectares. Should they worry about the spreading of the hairy Lovecraftian monstrosities any further? Maybe, but first they should get some profit out of it. Now they were on their way to the next town, way far along the road.
For moments, they held hands together, staying in silence. For moments, Dipper changed the gear lever. For moments, they stopped so she could pee, as unceremonious as it was; pregnancy issues, she could recall very well. But they were in their way, announced by the gorgeousness of the sunset, sealed between unsaid promises coming from silent smiles. For moments, they talked as well.
“What are we gonna call our baby, Dips?” She interrupted the sound of the radio ballad songs.
“Hadn’t we agreed we were going to wait to know what our baby is to suggest names?”
“I knoooooow but I really wanna start having this solitary baby tummy-mommy chatter and I can’t just keep calling our baby ‘unnamed baby in fabrication’”.
He laughed wholeheartedly, as only she could make him laugh.
“Ok then, what if it’s a boy”.
“Weeeeeell I was thinking about Bob, or Steve, or Ronan!” She said in joy.
“Ronan? Heck no, that sounds too much. What about Connor?”
“Mhmm, I like Connor” she nodded. “Ok, so what if it’s a girl”
“Well, I kind of thought about Madeline, or Samantha, or Cassiopeia!”
“Do you really want to call our baby girl like a Greek tragedy?” she dismissed with a defiant smile.
“Ok ok, maybe it’s kinda preposterous. That’s a hard choice, Mabes”
“What about Mabel 2.0? Like Grenda!”
“I still want to figure out how names with numbers are allowed, by the way” he asserted.
“Eh, we’ll know when we reach New Jersey”
He smiled with hope. It was a still-in-process plan, but it was something they could have for sure. That, if the thing with the eldritch furry monsters didn’t grow for them to having to change it. They were going to land at New Jersey, where the grunkles would reach in some months to help them to acquire the old pawn shop they once lived in. It was a plan, and that’s the only thing they needed to know as they approached their destiny.
“We’ll make it, Dips” She reassured with a gentle glance.
“I know” He said back, as they drove deep within the endless road. Life was theirs to live, and that was everything that mattered.
