What I thought to be a short 5-minute nap went into a deep slumber. The clock shows it’s 5am already and I heard both of the men on my sides snore. “They looked really cute.” I mumble to myself. It’s really kind of them for not waking me up, although I promised Shohei another ‘session’ in the bathroom. I slowly get up from the bed as I’m still naked underneath the blanket. I tried to wiggle my way out carefully so that they don’t wake up. I collected my undergarments and slide into them. Then, I tip toed towards the bathroom after grabbing my phone and closed the door slowly, not bothered to lock it.
I take a look into the mirror and saw several kiss marks on my body especially on my neck and chest areas. The thought of me making love with Yuki and Shohei still makes me feel giddy. Then, I open my phone to see several messages I receive from my friends who wishes me happy birthday.
“Are you awake already?” I was taken aback when I heard Shohei’s voice. He’s standing by the door shirtless, leaving him with his brief. His hair is messy but he looks too good to be true. “Ohh, I didn’t realize I was sleeping through the night. How about you? You should take a rest.” I reply and he shut the door. Shohei walks towards me and I turned my body to him. He closed the gap between ours and placed his hands on my hips and lifted me to the countertop. My breath suddenly got hard.
“I think I haven’t tell you some of the things I really admired about you.” I suddenly said while having a staring contest with him. His face was a few inches away from me and when he heard me, he pulled away. “Really? What about it?” he grins. “Before that, I want you to pull the stool chair. This is gonna be a long talk.” I said to him while tracing his chest and abs. “Sure.” After he sits on the chair in front of me, I started to tell him the reason why I like him - not in a romantic way, more to as a fangirl.
“I first heard your name during your time in Angels. You caught my eyes instantly,” I paused and took his hand so that our fingers interlock each other. “Since then, I found a lot of interesting facts about you online. I watched you play too even with Yuki. I like how determined you are to be a two-way player, how you tryna keep a lowkey personality in the midst of your popularity, and how you keep your body healthy.” I felt his thumb caressing my hands as well and he was so into my story. “You are such an inspiration to many, Sho. And I want you to keep being that way.” I smile to him.
“That’s very nice to hear. Thank you.” He simply replied with his husky voice and showing his eye smile. Very typical of him who doesn’t talk a lot but more into actions. “Not to forget that you’re able to challenge yourself in a completely different country and look at your fanbase. So big, just like these muscles, haha” I joked while grabbing his broad shoulders and biceps. I heard him chuckles as well.
“If I had known you before Yuki, I’ll definitely date you, y/n.” My heart beats so fast when he muttered that sentence. That sounds like a confession to me. I look at him in the eyes and automatically my fingers reached to his eyebrows, eyelashes, and finally his lips. “You don’t realize how handsome you are, Sho. If you already have a girlfriend back in the States, she’d be really lucky to have you.” his dimples appeared.
“You make me blush. Don’t you think Yuki will get jealous if he heard you complimented me?” he asks. I shake my head, “He already know that you’re my idol. Actually he left me dumbfounded when he said that you agreed to have threesome with me as a gift for my birthday. I was so embarrassed!” I jokingly punch his chest and he stopped me by holding my hands. “Don’t be. It’s my pleasure to make you feel special on your birthday, I should thank Yuki for this moment. I get to know you better,” he paused and I feel his face getting closer to mine. Our noses touched and there’s this electric sensation I get from him.
“I like how you hold me in your arms earlier. I like how our bodies move in sync. I like it when you play your tongue with me. I like everything about you but it’s impossible for us to be together. So I am grateful for this moment with you.” I might be carried away with the situation where we share our intimacy without Yuki eyeing us. I felt that I need to confess that to Shohei so that he knows what I feels. I feel his arms linger my body, giving me a bear hug. His manly cologne is still there although he was sweating all night. I’m actually afraid that it’s me who crossed the line? I sound like a cheating girlfriend right now but I will regret it my whole life if I don’t say those things to Shohei. Because he deserves to know how he made me feel.
He then kissed me slow but passionate, “Should we keep this as a secret from Yuki?” he asked in a lower voice. Thinking about what I said earlier, I realize that Yuki might be jealous even mad of our conversation. So I nod to him. “I’ll definitely miss you when I return home. We should spend time together again.” he said calmly while staring at me. His hands are now resting on my shoulders. “While you’re in Italy, we still have some time.” I said mumbling in his chest. Oh god, I like this man. It’s Yuki’s fault that he put me in this odd position with his best friend!
“Shall we have a cold shower? You said you like being taken care of after sex, c’mon” Shohei said but I stopped him from walking to the shower. “Wait. I like that we have this kind of intimacy. Are you okay if I take a photo of us?” I nervously asked while grabbing my phone on my side. “I’m totally fine. It’s not that you’ll share it publicly.” I smiled at his statement.
I activated the back camera and take candid photos of him. “Don’t be shy. Show me your sexy pose haha” I told him to pose and he acted really cool which is why the photos came out so good. “Can we also have photos together? Here, stand in front of me.” He gladly put me down from the countertop and we are now facing the mirror. “Can you wrap your arms around my neck? That’d be a good pic.” he does what I tell him. “You look so petite, so cute.” Shohei said at our reflections and I laugh. “Compared to you and Yuki, I’m just like a teenage girl.” I went along with him.
Tumblr media
After several photos later, Shohei spun my body to face him. “Are you done, sweetie?” asked him. I put my phone down, “Is someone being impatient for the next round? Hm?” I continue by grabbing the strap of his briefs. Teasing him a bit. “I can’t wait to touch you and feel you squirm under my touch.” He sounded so sexy right now. “I need a little bit more of you, Shohei.” I whispered and with that he lifted me and walked to the shower.
My lips reach him and my tongue is trying to find its way to his mouth. He let me explore him and reply my kiss right away. My back is glued to the wall while he’s steadying me with his huge figure. “Mmh— you- taste so good- Hhh” he murmurs in between our kisses.
With our bodies pressing against each other, I can feel his manhood on my lower body. I grab and rub it with my hands in the same tempo with our kisses. “You have no idea how sexy you are, Sho” I stopped the kiss and state what I feel. He smirked and suddenly the cold water flows on our bodies. “Oh my god!” We both chirped at the same time and laugh. “Oops, I didn’t mean to turn it on.” He said. Shohei’s figure is big enough to nudge the shower mixer without him knowing. “It’s alright. I’m the one who’s turned on by you.” I continue kissing him after those words came out of my mouth. I feel him smirking in the middle of our kisses. “Mmh—“ he let out a sexy whimper.
I feel butterflies in my stomach when he traces my body with his lips. He leaves his saliva here and there which triggers me to stroke his damp wet hair slowly. “I love that you’re the opposite of Yuki.” I said. He stopped right between my legs now, both hands still holding my thighs so I don’t fall. He looked up to see me and said, “Tell me.” “You’re more patient when we make love.” My response successfully made him grins.
Without wasting his time, he licks my clothed pussy that’s wet already. “Uhh—“ my natural responses were closing my eyes and playing with my harden nipples. My back arched more on the walls when he slid his tongue skillfully inside my vagina, making sure my thin underwear was moved out his way. His quick movements resulted in high pitched moan from me.
“Keep going.. Shohei,” I encourage him while squirming. The vibrations he gave me down there is out of this world. I feel it coming and he licked the wetness just for him to kiss me afterwards, letting me taste myself through him. “I like you, very much” I was surprised when listening to his sudden confession.
“Can I go inside you now?” he added. “Yes. I need you inside me.” With that, he inserts his manhood deep inside me. This time I no longer feel hurt, instead I feel pleasure all over my body. “Sweet Jesus!” I mumble in the crook of his neck and reach for his muscular arms. He doesn’t go fast this time, meanwhile he increases his pace slowly. “Do you know how fucking tight you are?” he whispered. “U-huh.. and you’re so big.” I replied. We are now staring at each other intensely. When he accurately hits my g-spot with his slow tempo, I let out a whine.
“Yeah you’re so fucking good. Come to me- come inside me—“ I chanted to him in a teasing way. I can feel him close to his climax when his body got more intense and he closed his eyes, with mouth opens. “Aahh- fuck” he sounded so manly in my ears. “But I’m not done yet.” I told him and I swiftly change our position where I pushed him to sit on the shower seat.
I happily took control and now I positioned myself on his lap with my back facing him. “Do you like that?” is what comes out of my mouth when I took his whole length inside my vagina and sliding it up and down. His hands are now cupping my boobs from behind. “I like it when you take control, sweetheart” he responded. I turn my head to kiss his lips. “And I can’t stop riding you, Sho.” I keep circling my hips around him and feel so much pleasure.
Minutes go by quickly that this shower has witnessed our numerous positions from the standing doggy to leg-up. We were enjoying our intimacy too much that I started to realize that Yuki is still in the bedroom next to us! Both Shohei and I have finally stopped our session and moved on to washing each other’s body in the shower. We took shower together where he rubs the liquid soap all over my body and on the other hand, I tried to wash his thick black hair. I tip toed to reach his height but he was kind enough to lower himself. It’s so fun with him around. He’s so playful but sexy at the same time. Shit, I can’t keep him out of my mind now.
“Are you done, princess?” Shohei asked me while drying his hair with a towel. I nodded. “I’m done, just a moment.” I tried to wear my undergarments and the last thing I found was Yuki’s oversized shirt so I decided to wear that. “Thank you for everything. I really enjoy our time together.” I confessed to him and gave him a peck on his lips. Before he responds anything, I walked out of the bathroom, leaving Shohei behind.

so there’s this thing I do with books, as I was explaining to my bestie the other day -- I get into such a funk about some of them ending, that I’ll essentially...put off finishing them. Realise I’ve got three chapters left and then shelve it for a month, then pick it up again...repeat. Repeat. Repeat. For years at a time, even.
(I am not joking: myself and a dear friend were head over heels fangirls for Garth Nix’s Keys to the Kingdom series...I bought the final book, Lord Sunday, the literal day it was released (1 Feb 2010 in Oz, ftr)...and I haven’t read a single word of it to this day. I keep restarting from the first book, and just...not wanting it to be over. Still. To add pathos to the pathetic, said friend and I are no longer in touch at all, no less.)
...I’m caught up in those same kinda feelings this morning/tonight, plus extreme excitement, curiosity that killed the entire felidae family, nevermind just the cat, plus misery that we’re going to have to wait for so long and the fandom will doubtlessly go back to sleep (fuck the neckbeards and the haters, man, I have been having the time of my life for the last month and a bit because my eternal fandom is awake and it is beautiful), plus...IDK what my feelings actually are doing at all, anymore? And I just. I want to watch the finale right now. Now now now. But not at all. But now.
(Impatient, horrifically inquisitive, and finifugal; aka, I’m a not-so-secret Noldo. give me all the majesty and beauty, give it to me without end, and give it to me now.)

“No, you can’t do this, Bucky!” You follow Bucky into your shared bedroom as he begins packing a bag. He got it into his head that he was more than capable to help Sam out on this new mission. However, it would be against the rules of the pardon the president gave him for being the Winter Soldier.
“Sam needs my help, y/n. I can’t leave him to go alone on this mission.”
“Sam does not need your help. If you go on this mission and get caught, they could take away your pardon and put you in jail. For life!”
“That’s why we won’t get caught.”
“There is no guarantee of that.” You shake your head and cross your arms over your chest. Bucky wasn’t seeing things clearly and it only angered you more that he was willing to put his freedom on the line for a mission. Especially after everything you and him went through to get to this very moment. It was like he was throwing all this hard work away.
“I have to go.” He says, facing you. His voice is stern, “This isn’t up for negotiation.”
“You do not have to go! You are not obligated to do anything someone tells you anymore. You’re a free man, Bucky.” You grasp his hands in yours, “You and I are free to live our lives, Bucky.. no crazy missions, no wars, no danger. We can be a normal couple.”
“We can’t be a normal couple y/n,” He lets go of your hands, “Not with a past like mine.” He grabs his bag from the bed then stares into your tear-filled eyes.
“We worked our asses off to get here today, Bucky! Those hours we spent in therapy, the hours spent trying to figure out how to move past your winter soldier days. You’re throwing all of it away on a mission! You’re.. you’re throwing a future with me away.”
“He needs my help.” Is all he says as he pushes passed you.
“If you walk out that door, Bucky Barnes, I promise you, that I will not be here when you get back.” You warn with tear filled eyes. You’d hoped Bucky’s love for you and the fear of losing you would overpower his overwhelming desire to help people when they need it even if it wasn’t the right thing to do. You didn’t know at the time if you truly meant the words spoken and if you could really bring yourself to leave Bucky even after everything the two of you had been through.
He doesn’t turn around or even look back at you over his shoulder and instead walks through the door, leaving you standing alone in your once shared bedroom. That was the only answer you needed.
  ~
Bucky left for that mission with Sam and you packed all your things heading for your favorite place, y/f/p. There were no avengers around you so there was no one to tell where you would be. No one knew of your location except for you, and this was probably toxic to think about, but you hoped it scared Bucky that he didn’t know where you would be. It was wrong of him to choose a mission over you, and you wanted him to see that. Yeah, it probably wasn’t the best way to show him, but you told him if he walked out the door you wouldn’t be there so you’re just sticking to your word.
In all honesty, Bucky didn’t think you were serious about leaving and that it was an in the moment thing for you to say. You’d been there for him during his recovery and he knew he didn’t make it easy on you but still you chose to stay. He was grateful to have you by his side especially after everyone around him left.
He was in for a rude awakening when he opened the door to your shared apartment. “Y/n? Doll?” He kicked off his shoes, knowing you hated when he tracked in dirt on his shoes. When you didn’t answer he proceeded through the apartment, only to find your favorite blanket that occupied the back of the couch was gone.
“y/n?” He called out once more, but no answer. As he made his way through the house, he realized none of your things were in the place you left them. When he entered the bedroom, he immediately started going through the drawers, but none of your things were in them. He pulled the door to the closet open and the only clothes occupying it were his.
You’d left him and it was all his fault.
He spent the next hour trying not to destroy the apartment. You had really left him, and he had no idea where you had gone. He called your phone, but it went straight to voicemail. He called Sam, but he had no idea where you’d be either.
Nat was dead; Wanda was off somewhere so that ruled out two people you would have told. Thor was in space with the Guardian’s. There had been no one for you to tell and he suddenly realized the severity of the situation. You were really gone, and he might never see you again.
~
It was a few days later and you decided to turn your phone back on. It was spammed with dozens of texts, calls and voicemails from Bucky. You tapped on a random voicemail and Bucky’s voice filled your ears.
“Doll… Please.” He’d been crying and his voice cracked, “I need you. I can’t do this without you and I was stupid to think some mission would fill my void of needing to do something.” He sniffles, “I finally have peace; something I haven’t had in a while and I guess I felt like a mission would make me feel better. That it would make me feel more like myself, but it wasn’t it. It wasn’t the answer.” There was a soft and quiet sob, “I need you, y/n. Please don’t do this, don’t leave me. I don’t have anyone else and you’re all I have.” More sobs, “You’re all I have,” and then the line beeped, ending the voicemail.
You would be lying if you weren’t crying by the end of the message. The sound of Bucky’s broken voice and the sobs. Now, everything began to make sense. Why he left, why he needed to go on that mission. He was beginning to feel peace after fighting war after war and thought that he needed to be fighting a war, doing something. It was his trauma response.
~
It was late when you entered the apartment and you figured Bucky would be asleep, so you were quiet. You headed for your bedroom and were surprised to find Bucky not in bed, but he was laid on the floor next to the bed. He hadn’t slept on the floor since he’d come home from fighting Thanos.
You set your things down in the floor and immediately made your way to him, “Bucky.”
He stirred in his sleep and you called out his name once more. You didn’t want to scare him by sneaking up on him. That was something you two had learned after the first time you did that trying to sneak into bed, careful not to wake him. He woke up in a panic and had attacked you. It was after that you two decided therapy would be a good idea.
“Bucky.”
He inhaled as he woke, his eyes scanning for danger, but he only sees yours, “Y/n.” He breaths out in relief.
Crawling next to him you laid down, your head going to his chest and you wrapped your free arm around him, “I’m here.”
His arms engulfed your body and he couldn’t help but start to sob. He just knew he’d lost you for good and it was all his fault. He’d been alone all those years and then you came along, and he didn’t want to be alone again.
You only tightened your arm around him, “I’m not going anywhere.”
You two laid like that the rest of the night, enveloped in each other’s arms. This was the peace Bucky longed for; the peace Bucky deserved. You were his peace, and he wasn’t going to lose it again.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The day we woke up on the floor of the garage in the year 2020 was the worst day of my life.
Or that’s what I decided at least.
Apparently we had spent the past 25 years in a dark room, with Alex crying for most of that time. The girl who found us, Julie, quickly became our only tie to the real world. We could only be seen playing if she was playing with us. We soon found out that we had unfinished business that we needed to attend to before we could properly cross over to the other side. We figured it was simple. Play the Orpheum and we were done. But getting to the Orpheum was going to be a lot harder than we thought.
Slowly we had started to build up a following on a thing called ‘YouTube’ where people share videos, I never thought such a wide library of videos could exist for free every single day. Practices became a daily thing, though I didn’t know if it was a good thing or a bad thing.
I really shouldn’t be jealous. Luke has chemistry with everyone he sings with. Alex would kill me if he found out that after all these years I was still crushing on his best friend. I couldn’t help the feeling in my throat when I saw Julie and Luke singing together though... the feeling like I couldn’t breathe. Like all the air was being sucked out of me while I tried to keep the feeling of anger from bubbling over.
Why can’t he look at me like that?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I never meant to get him jealous, because I always thought making crushes jealous was unhealthy and only ever worked in the movies. But as soon as I started only talking with Reggie and Alex at practice Luke started to notice how I didn’t go out of my way to talk to him like I used to.
As time went on I started only singing with Reggie on stage for the harmonies. Every time I would look over afterwards I would see Luke staring at me with an almost blank expression.
The next few days were miserable for me.
My only desire then was to go up to him and tell him why I had been avoiding him. That I had seen every glance, smirk, smile, and laugh he and Julie had shared and say it was breaking my heart in two. I just had to watch in silence. The fear of causing drama within the band had taken precedent over my unrequited love.
I never meant for it to be taken this far. After Caleb branded us I truly began to wonder if my place in the band really meant anything to anyone. My feelings poured out over a page as I explained everything to them in a letter. A stupid letter that I didn’t know if I actually was going to deliver or not.
My worst fears soon became a reality after I saw their interaction outside of Luke’s house on his birthday.
Tears fell out of my eyes as I slipped the letter into his songwriting notebook and poofed out of the garage. I knew they would find it. I knew my brother would know the first place to look for me, so I avoided it.
I stood in the alleyway behind the Orpheum, tears falling down my face as I held onto my brother’s sweatshirt he had given me a few days prior. Hopefully I could still keep it.
“Are you ready?”
I turned around and saw Caleb standing in all his elaborate glory, “I guess so.”
He smirked, “Why so hesitant little dove?”
“Um,” I mumbled, a shiver went down my spine at his awkward nickname, “I’m just going to miss them.”
“Miss them? You’re going to miss them? Oh (Y/n), they haven’t even noticed you were gone. You’ve got nothing to lose.”
Tears began to form in my eyes. Breathing became hard as I realized I had been sitting here for hours, and no one came yet.
“Poor (Y/n), in love with a boy who doesn’t even notice her. A brother who was rejected by even his parents, and a best friend who doesn’t even notice her feelings. You can leave all that behind, just shake my hand.”
I stood there, debating on if I really wanted to give it all up. Did I really get a choice in this? I slowly lifted my hand, still hesitating.
“(Y/n), look around. They haven’t even come for you yet, and I’m sure that rat Willie already told them what you were doing. They just don’t care-”
“That’s not true!”
I turned around and saw my band running towards me.
“(Y/n) don’t listen to him? He’s manipulating you,” Alex said.
Tears fell down my face as Caleb grabbed my shoulder, “You’re too late. (Y/n) just look at them. They didn’t even notice as you drifted further and further away.”
My eyes flickered up, Luke locked eyes with me. Tears were forming in his eyes, “(Y/n) please don’t do this.”
I looked back down at the ground.
Julie spoke up, “(Y/n), you really don’t realize how much you contribute to this band. We all care about you so much.”
“I doubt she wants to hear from you,” Caleb scoffed, “Seeing as you stole the one thing she most wanted away.”
The boys looked at each other confused but the look on Julie’s face told me that she knew exactly what Caleb meant.
“(Y/n) I promise you, Luke and I are just best friends. I’m so sorry you felt like you weren’t important to us anymore,” Julie said.
Luke looked up at me but I tried not to meet his gaze.
“(Y/n),” Alex said, “You’re my sister. I can’t lose you too. Please.”
Tears ran freely down my face as I pulled myself away from Caleb. Luke ran forward and caught me as I began to fall.
Caleb let out a frustrated yell and disappeared. I didn’t even bother to look up as I sobbed into my hands.
“I’m so sorry,” Luke whispered to me. Alex pulled everyone into a group hug.
“Guys I’m so sorry,” I sobbed.
“This isn’t your fault,” Reggie said.
I brought my hands down to wrap around Luke’s shoulders, “I just didn’t feel good enough. I wanted to know if you guys really cared. I’m so sorry I should have said something.”
“We’re just happy we got here in time,” Alex said, he ran a hand through my hair, “I’m so glad you’re okay.”
My tears came to a slow stop, and eventually we began to walk home.
“Guys, I’m taking (Y/n) somewhere. We’ll catch up.”
The guys waved as Luke grabbed my hand and pulled me in a different direction. It soon became clear where he was taking me.
“Do you remember this place?” he asked.
“Barely,” I said. I looked around the park I had always gone to, it had changed so much since 1995, “They tore the gazebo down.”
He looked over to where the rickety white structure used to be, a bathroom area was there now.
“I remember, you used to always go there after there was a fight at your house.”
I nodded, “Quiet, secluded, free to go to. Can’t tell you how many songs I wrote here.”
He pulled me over to sit on the benches near the playground.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” he said.
I looked up at the clouds, trying to get the answer straight in my head, “I just… I had seen how you looked at her. I wanted you to look at me like that. Once I started to pull away, no one seemed to notice. Caleb offered me his help, he said I’d be famous…”
“What made you hesitate?”
“I realized… I didn’t want a million admirerors, I just wanted one. Nothing could compare to that.”
I jumped as he reached over to grab my hand, bringing it over to sit in his lap as he covered it in both of his, “I want to be that person.”
“You always were.”
He smiled. He brought my hand up and placed a kiss gently on my knuckles. In a quick moment of bravery I leaned over and kissed his cheek quickly.
He placed both his hands on my cheeks before pulling me into a real kiss. The boy I thought I had lost was kissing me. The kiss I had always dreamed of but thought I could never have.
We both pulled away breathing heavily. I looked up and giggled at his swollen lips and tousled hair knowing I probably looked the same.
“I’m sorry it’s taken so long for me to say this. I love you (Y/n). I’ve loved you since the day I met you, I loved you after we died, and I loved you every moment till now. I guess the only reason why I didn’t do anything is I was so scared of you not liking me back, or how your brother would react.”
I sighed as he rubbed his thumb across my cheek, “How do you think he’ll react?”
“He told me while we were looking for you I should’ve asked you out weeks ago. He knows,” He laughed.
The sun had started to set, the light illuminated him making him look ethereal. I pulled him into another quick kiss, “I wish I had done this sooner.”
“What? The kiss or trying to sell your soul to a dead magician?”
I laughed, “Either.”
He smiled and wrapped his arm around me, “Don’t do the second one again anytime soon.”

Crush At First Sight
Tumblr media
Pairing: Nishinoya X Reader
Words: 2K
Summary: Attending the boy's volleyball finals was a no brainer-you'd take any opportunity to ditch school. You didn't think you'd find yourself getting so attached to one of the players...
Notes: I don't believe that someone could watch Noya play and not instantly fall in love, so I did him right
Masterlist
The only time you’d heard about the boy’s volleyball team was when someone called them ‘flightless crows’ in the hallway, which you assumed was a bad thing. However, when your friends mentioned they were skipping class to apparently watch them play in the Spring finals you were all for attending.
You’d take any opportunity to ditch school-even if it was to watch some guys lose a volleyball game.
The stadium was more filled than you were expecting. As you slid through the crowd to find three open seats you realized perhaps this was a bigger deal than you’d anticipated. Once seated, Michimiya passed everyone noise makers she’d picked up from some guys near the stadium’s entrance. You tested the bright orange cone-shaped objects by lightly tapping them together.
“So, they must have really improved this year, huh?” You said as your eyes wandered around the packed stands, apparently you weren’t the only ones skipping school today.
“They got a new coach,” Michimiya said, bouncing lightly from nerves and anticipation, “and a lot of talented first years.”
“Not hard on the eyes either,” Aihara nudged your shoulder and gestured towards the team congregated on the sidelines around their coaches. You nodded slowly as you scanned the group, lingering on the unfortunate boy who got stuck with the orange jersey.
At least he could pull it off.
The teams took the court, their anticipation radiating into the audience and extending even to you as you clutched your noise makers tightly. After the whistle was blown, and the first serve made, the game of Karasuno vs Shiratorizawa officially began.
A few minutes into the match you found your gaze latching onto the guy in the orange jersey. Shiratorizawa was terrifying, especially the big guy with his powerful spikes. You winced the first time you saw it because you couldn’t imagine receiving something like that without breaking your arms, but the libero guy was doing it like it was nothing. He had adapted to the playstyle and for every ball that made your stomach drop he would appear from seemingly nowhere and make a save.
There was something about the way he could go from intensely focused on the court to relaxed on the sidelines within moments that had you mesmerized, as well. You couldn’t help the weird fullness in your chest as he guzzled down water and smiled goofily to some of his teammates after their first set as if the pressure wasn’t weighing on him.
“What are you so focused on?” Michimiya asked while bopping you on the head with her cone.
“Nothing,” you said as the boys began to take the court again, preparing for the next serve. “Hey, what was number four’s name?”
Aihara’s brow quirked. “Nishinoya, why?”
“I’m just wondering...” You said, subconsciously smiling when he slid and barely saved the ball with one hand. “He’s just pretty good is all.”
“Daichi said he’s their ‘Guardian Deity’,” Michimiya wiggled her eyebrows at you.
“Boys are so dramatic.” Aihara scoffed.
You couldn’t argue that one.
As the sets continued you found yourself growing increasingly attached to Nishinoya: heart dropping if he missed a ball, swelling with pride anytime he made a play, and you’d even find your cheeks warming whenever you caught sight of him smiling to himself or a teammate. It was becoming embarrassing, truthfully, considering you’d never even talked to him.
“Alright, at least pretend you’re not obsessively staring at him.” Aihara nudged you playfully as the fourth set wrapped up and the boys were switching sides on the court.
“I’m not.”
Michimiya giggled, bopping you on the nose. “You geek out every time he touches the ball. It’s not hard to notice.”
“You’re one to talk. As if you haven’t been fangirling over Daichi.” Aihara leaned back, sighing dramatically. “I’m trapped between a pair of lovesick fools.”
“I don’t even know the guy,” you felt your cheeks warming. “Even if I did he probably wouldn’t be interested in--”
“Have you ever met Nishinoya before?” Aihara interrupted you. “Like, at school or in any context? Heard about him or talked to him… anything?”
You shook your head and they both started laughing lightly before Michimiya put a hand on your shoulder. “Trust me, you’ll be fine.”
You tilted your head in confusion, but before you could form a retort the ref’s whistle signaled the start of the final set. Your grip on the noise makers were tight as both sides fought strongly, neither willing to lose a single point and give up their chance for nationals. It felt surreal when Karasuno pulled that final point. Everyone erupted into cheers as the three of you held onto each other, jumping and shouting, unable to contain your excitement while celebrating the boy’s well earned victory. Boys who were currently dogpiled in the center of the court while the third years had tears streaming down their faces in disbelief.
It was an honor to be a part of and you couldn’t have been prouder to have them representing your school. When they lined up in front of you and bowed to thank you all for your attendance you clutched your hands against your chests. They really earned the win.
You were pulled out of your randomly emotional train of thought by Aihara’s grip tugging you behind her as they shuffled out of the stands.
“Where are we going?” You asked when they left the gym opposite the stadium’s exit.
“We’re going to congratulate the guys!” Michimiya sent a smile over her shoulder and your heart accelerated to an unhealthy pace.
“I don’t know if I’m mentally prepared for that scenario,” you pointed toward the opposite end of the hall. “Maybe I should just meet you guys outside and-”
“Oh no you don’t,” Aihara began pushing you forward by your shoulders and you started to whine in protest. “You are strong and fearless and no boy shall knock you down.”
Michimiya giggled ahead of you where she remained completely useless in your time of need. You let Aihara guide you through groups of people finding their way toward the exit until you all spotted the boy’s team in their telling Karasuno volleyball club jackets.
You did a quick scan of everyone, but didn’t see the spiked hair you’d been observing for so long. You weren’t sure if it was relief or disappointment you felt.
“There he is,” Aihara gave you a squeeze, pointing near the far wall where Nishinoya was digging through his duffel bag on the ground, eyebrows furrowed and tongue stuck out adorably in concentration. Your heart started pounding at the sight of him so close. The bizarre realization that he was in fact a real person finally hit which made your palms sweaty.
“As it turns out. I have decided to denounce myself from boys and am going to live a life of celibacy.” You nodded confidently, trying to make a u-turn, but Aihara annoyingly spun you around.
“Shut up,” she rolled her eyes. “Just talk to him. I promise it will work out.” She patted your shoulder. “Trust me.”
You glared at her, mumbling insults under your breath as you slowly walked over to where Nishinoya continued to dig through his mess of a bag. You took a deep breath and decided your best move was to just deep dive straight into your doom. What could possibly go wrong?
“Uh, Nishinoya, right?”
He glanced at you briefly, looking you up and down before continuing to dig through his bag.“Yep, do need you help finding someone?” He triumphantly pulled out some IcyHot before pointing toward where the rest of his team lounged. “Most of the guys are over there.”
“I was actually hoping to talk to you.” You winced as you noticed the bruises that decorated his arms when he started to peel off his jacket.
“Why? Is something wrong? Do you have a message for me or something?”
“No… I just wanted to tell you how amazing I thought you were today.” You quickly glanced away in embarrassment when he finally looked up at you with wide-eyes. You dug your toe into the ground as you urged yourself to continue, “I was watching you and just thought you were really cool and--”
“Sorry,” he chuckled and put a hand up to stop you. “I was actually wearing the orange jersey. Number four.” He pointed to the others in the center of the hall again. “The guy you're looking for is probably over there.”
You blinked. “Nishinoya. Orange jersey. Number four. Libero. Guardian Deity or whatever.” Your embarrassment was dissolving into frustration. “Is that you?”
“Yeah?”
“Then I’m looking for you.”
He stared at his bag as his brain tried to process the situation you’d presented to him. Suddenly, his gaze whipped up at you. “Holy shit,” he pointed his finger at himself. “You’re talking to me.”
“Have been.”
He tensed and locked his eyes on the IcyHot he was currently trying to rub on his back. He quickly threw it near his bag and you felt another fond smile growing on your face. “I’m Nishinoya,” he said, extending his hand toward you before shoving it down to his side. “Wait, you know that. Shit, were you complimenting me? Did you just call me cool?”
“I did do that, yeah.”
His face turned a bright shade of red, “but you can’t do that it goes against all the rules.”
“What are you-”
“Look,” He pointed his finger between the two of you causing you to raise a brow. “I’m supposed to flirt with and compliment you, then you say something mean that hurts my feelings.” He smacked his shoes for finality. “It’s a strict formula.”
“What’s the formula for when I flirt with you then?” You asked, a sly smirk spreading across your lips. His shoulders went up to his ears and he stared at his hands longer than you felt necessary for such a simple question.
He looked up at you defeated. “I don’t know I’m bad at math.”
You covered your mouth to hold back the laugh trying to force its way out. He was just so cute though. “Well, so am I, but mutual flirting seems like a good solution. If you were an interested party that is.”
“I’m a very interested party…” He murmured under his breath while narrowing his eyes at you. “Did Tanaka put you up to this?”
“I don’t know who that is.”
He furrowed his brow in thought before pulling a flip phone out from his duffel and holding it out to you, “can I have your number?”
Your cheeks dusted pink as you created your contact under Nishinoya’s intense gaze. He hurriedly checked it’s existence when you returned the phone to him, staring at it skeptically while he cradled the phone in his hands.
“I promise it’s mine.” You reassured him and he embarrassingly snapped the phone closed.
“Okay,” he mumbled.
“(Y/N)!” Aihara yelled from where the rest of Karasuno’s team was grouped and not so subtly staring at you both. Your face slowly blossomed red and in your peripheral you saw Nishinoya flip off the ones waving at him. “We’re heading out. Are you done or do you need more time with your-”
“I’ll be right there.” You interrupted, glancing back to Nishinoya. “I’ll, uh, talk to you soon?”
He shot you a double thumbs up and you couldn’t stop from snorting at how adorable that was, especially when he started at them in shame. You waved a good-bye and narrowly dodged the small group already sprinting to Nishinoya while you weren’t even a few steps away.
Aihara wrapped an arm around your shoulder as your eyes lingered on boys rubbing Nishinoya’s head, bouncing around excitedly, or giving him suggestive looks. You felt your stomach rolling from embarrassment at all the attention he was receiving from such a small interaction.
“Ignore them. They’re just stupid boys.”
“I guess…”
“But one of them’s your stupid boy.” Michimiya said, poking you in the stomach. You swatted her hands away, and chewed your lip to keep down a smile when your phone vibrated. The ‘hello :)’ from an unknown number made your heart flutter.
Yeah, one of them was your stupid boy.

Dream or Reality (Noctis x Reader)
I wrote this fic years ago. So, I fixed up a little and decided to post it here. I have also posted it in devianart under LastMoogleHunter. Happy reading!
“Aaaaahhh….what a boring day, always the same. There’s nothing new, nothing makes me excited.” I sighed for the umpteenth times. I see, I haven’t introduced myself, my name is [Name] [Last Name], I am 12th grade in Destiny High. This is my last year, thus was recommended in making good memories. Though…there is nothing fun, I wish Final Fantasy characters are real people. That’ll so much fun, especially if there is Noctis.....
Kyaaaa!!! I am so embarassed... ahem, let’s put that aside and let’s get onto the story.
This morning also has the same routine, wake up, bath, breakfast, school, home, dinner, sleep and so on. And coincidentally my literature teacher decides it’s fun to see her students suffer, and thus given us a homework about composition. I groan, this is going to kill my brain cells. “God, please let my life get interesting such as Final Fantasy character come to life..... Just kidding, it’s not like it can be granted anyway.” I exhaled. I put my homework and stationery on my desk and start thinking about the theme I am going to write. Not long after I start doze off.
My internal clock woke me up from my slumber. Groggily, I glance my clock and it shows 6.30 a.m. I blink once, twice and rub my eyes to make sure I am not mistaking it. In instant, all sleepiness fades away. ”Aaaahh!! I am late!!” I freaked out and with lightning speed I took a bath. While I was stripping though, something fell from my shorts’ pocket. I pick it up and examine it, it was a golden watch. Curious, I open it and something was craved on the lid ‘aeternam vinculo’ ‘what’s this mean? More importantly when I got this thing?’ I was thinking and completely forgotten the time.
“[Name]! breakfast is ready!” Kaa-san called.
“No way!” I yelped and resumed my activity.
I run down the stairs and eat breakfast quickly, “[Name], there’s still some time.” Kaa-san said.
I gulp down my orange juice, “Gotta go. Bye Kaa-san, Tou-san.” I said as I ran to school. Fortunately, the distance to school from my house is not that far. Upon arriving there, I still see a lot of students leisurely walking to the school. Looks like I am safe. I sigh in relief as I pat my chest. suddenly, I feel a tap on my shoulder and I turn around, but the sight of that ‘someone’ tapping my shoulder made my eyes widenend.
“Morning.” He said, while I blinked once, twice, titled my head and stare at him as he is an alien landing on earth. The person who greeted me is no other than the famous Chocobo head, Cloud Strife.
I keep staring at him without blinking. “You…” I could only manage a word to come out from my mouth.
Cloud looks at me oddly, “What’s wrong?” he asked.
“Good morning you two.” A new voice called. Our head snap to that direction and find Tifa and Yuffie are walking toward us.
My eyes widened ‘[Name].exe is shutting down.’ I can practically hear a robotic voice said that. ‘What exactly is going on?’
Seeing my confused blank looking face, concern made to Tifa’s face, “[Name], what’s wrong?” She asked.
So, I did the most logical action I could at the moment, I pinch my left hand, “Ow…” ‘It hurt.’ I rubbed my reddening left hand.
“[Name], are you really alright?” Tifa asked again. “Don’t worry Tifa, I bet she just woke up.” Yuffie grinned.
‘It’s not a dream....? t-they are really alive...?’ I am still confused, I am still not sure if I am having a realistic dream or this is the reality. But if so, what about yesterday and the day before yesterday and the days before today? Was that reality a dream? And this is the real reality? My mind is in jumbled mess, but I am happy. My wish has come true, my wish for the Final Fantasy characters are real people and as a bonus I have befriend with them. There’s no more I could ask for.
I feel someone shakes me. “Huh?” I snapped back to the reality.
“Maybe we should get her to infirmary.” Tifa said.
“Whooa. [Name], you really sick?” Yuffie was shocked by the news.
“Let’s go.” Cloud said as he prepared to drag me.
“W-wait! I’m fine, I just dozing because I just woke up.” I said putting a sheepish grin.
“See, she’s just woke up.” Yuffie grinned again, but I can see she was relieved as well.
‘Well, I did wish something interesting like this happen. Well, dream or not let’s enjoyed it to the last.’ I smiled at my thought as we walked to the class.
Upon entering class, I no longer panic on what I saw. There are some FF characters here and there, but I spot no Noctis, ‘Well, I’ll be lying if I am not disappointed.’ I sigh softly. ‘Well, nothing goes smooth now.’
Then I heard giggles and squeals. ‘Don’t tell me this is a famous scene from shoujo manga. The moment when male lead and his group enter the classroom. If so, then… Those girls will be the mortal enemies of the female lead. After the plot milked her usefulness, she and her sidekicks will fall into ruin.’ I blinked as I looked at those girls. ‘What a shame. They look nice enough though. But, I wonder who they’re fangirling about.’ I follow the crowd’s eyes, then the door opened revealing ‘Emergency! Mayday! Mayday! All staffs please evacuate! The ship will sink soon!Eh? EEEEEEHHHHH???!!! What is happening?! Why is he here?! No... I mean… I am happy that he is here. But he being here is a problem itself to me, in many ways.’ The one who opened the door is no other than Noctis.
I stiffen when he walks to me. “Good morning.” He muttered as he walked past me to his seat which is behind me.
“Mo-morning…?” And the problem is I was suttering when I replied, ‘Now I’ve done it…. he officially think I am one of his fangirls.’ I sighed earning a few snickers from Tifa and Yuffie which I give them an odd look.
“Morning, Hime-chi.” Prompto greeted.
I am not sure who is Hime-chi is. But seeing no one responds to him, it must be me, right? “Morning…?” I greeted back hesitantly.
During the duration of the lesson, I can’t concentrate at all. Part of it is because Noctis is sitting behind me. The other part is I am frantically thinking what should I do, what is my relationship with him and the other characters. Just because some of them are my friends, that doesn’t mean all of the characters must be my friends. And I have to be careful how to act around them, so they didn’t notice my awkwardness.
The bell rings signaling lunch break. Finally, me and the group which included almost all of the alvalanche members plus some other go to school cafeteria. Minus Cid and Barret cause they’re too old to go to school anyway which I found out later the two of them are school staffs. Barret as P.E teacher and Cid as engineer. And of course, let’s not forget Zack and Aerith. We go to cafeteria to eat lunch, while the others eat and talking each other, I am thinking about a lot of thing and that mysterious golden watch.
“[Name].” A voice snapped me out of my own world and I found all of them were staring at me.
“Huh?” I blinked owlishly.
“Are you okay?” Aerith asked worriedly.
“Did they bully you?” Prompto frowned.
“Eh? Bully? Who?” I tilted my head not understanding who were they talking about. ‘…For the first time in my life I was bullied…’
“WHAT!? Those girls are bullying my little sister?! How dare they!” Zack raged.
“W-Wait a minute. I am fine. No one is bullying me.” I said quickly calming them down.
“I heard something about bullying [Name]. Who is daring enough to do that?” Another new voice chimed in.
“Ah.” I blinked at the newcomers, twins exactly.
“Stella, Luna. Where were you guys?” Yuffie asked.
“Sorry, the teacher needed us just now.” Stella apologized.
“So, I heard someone is bullying [Name]? Which idiot?” Luna smiled scarily.
“No one was bullying me.” I shook my head quickly. ‘Scary…. Does Lunafreya is this kind of character?’ I sweatdropped.
“If we are talking about bullying, then I am sure it’s no other than her and her little group.” Tifa rolled her eyes.
‘I wonder who and why would people bully me? I don’t think I’ve ever made someone mad enough to be bullied by them.’ I scanned the cafeteria and spot a group of girls glaring at me, ‘Ah. So, they are the bully group.’ Then a mop of blond caught my attention, I narrow my eyes to get better sight, ‘…Who is she? I have never meet her before, but strangely her name popped out in my mind. Tachibana Kirika-san, Noct’s fangirl…. Ah, no wonder.’ I looked at her object of affection.
“Ignore them” Noct said.
“Umm...okay.” I answered.
After that staring contest, all is well. No war break between us. The last bell finally rings, signaling the end of school. And so, as per usual ritual, apparently we always go home together. “See you tomorrow.” I waved to them when I arrived at my house.
“See you.” They waved back. I open the door only to find it is hollow of life. I found a note one dinner table ‘Business trip one week, there’s a leftover for dinner. We’ll get your cousin to stay at the house tomorrow.’ I sighed. It’s still the same,’Oh well, I’m used to it.... wonder who is my cousin. This is the first time I heard about having a cousin staying over.’
Tired and still in term of accepting what has happened today. I am feeling really sleepy, but I didn’t dare to sleep. What if this is just a dream and I’ll wake up in the same position on my desk, as selfish as it may sound I still don’t want this to end yet. So many thoughts race in my head, absetmindedly I take out the golden watch and finally fallen asleep holding that.
I wake up with a start and glancing at my room, then realize something, FF charas. ‘Is it a dream?’ I sighed and I felt something in my hand. The golden watch, it’s still here. That means ‘It’s not a dream.’ I grinned widely, they are real. Thus, I quickly begin my routine of the day.
Arriving to the class, I greet them. Them as in the group. “Morning.” I greeted.
“Morning.” They replied. I sit at my seat and put my bag on drawer, but then a sharp pain creeps through my hand, instictively I take out my hand and trail of blood is dripping from my hand. My eyes flicker at the sound of giggles, there Tachibana Karin stand proudly at what she have done, she even raises her chin up to which I reply with raised eyebrow.
‘Truly, this is the first time I am being bullied for real.’
Seeing my bloodied right hand and still bleeding. Cloud quickly take my hand and examines it. “You okay?” He asked.
“As okay as someone will be with bleeding hand.” I remarked. Zack is definitely pissed off by the look of his face and stalks toward them.
“Why you little-“
“Zack. There’s no need to get angry.” I called to him.
Ignoring my call, he still stalks toward them, that is until Vincent holds him, “Ignore them. We should take her to infirmary.” He said.
“No no no. we can’t let this kind of things go.” Stella stepped in.
“Indeed. We’ll need to teach her a lesson.” Luna easily agreed with the older twin.
“Stella, Luna. Not you two too.” I sweatdropped.
“Let’s just take [Name] to infirmary first.” Tifa said. With that, the group accompanies me to the infirmary.
“The cut isn’t deep, it will heal in few days.” Nurse Quistis said after she finished bandaging me.
“Thank you.” I thanked her.
“It’s my job, now off you go to class.” She ushered.
“Yes ma’am.” I give her mock salute as I get out of the room.
Entering the class, I was bombarded with questions. Quistis kicked all of the out for being so noisy and too much. “I am fine.” I said for the umpteenth time.
Then Tachibana-san comes to me and asks with her sickly sweet voice, “How was your hand? Is it hurt?”
“Well, why don’t we try it to your hand. And then you’ll know whether it’s hurt or not.” I smiled eraning a few snickers from my friends as they heard my reply.
Tachibana-san’s face is red with anger and opens her mouth to say something. But then, the door opened revealing Noctis and Prompto. she quickly puts her sweet façade again to which I know that isn’t fooling anyone with decent IQ. “Good morning.” She greeted him which was ignored and laughter rose from our throats.
“If you didn’t do something like bullying his friends, you might have a chance.” I told her.
“You!” She gritted her teeth.
‘Aaah… She really didn’t get it.’ I sighed mentally. “Good morning you two. How unusuall for you to almost late.” I greeted.
“Good morning, Hime-chi. You see, we are almost late because we met an old woman on the street. She… Hime-chi, what happened to your hand?” Prompto frowned when he saw bandage on my left hand.
“Your hand...”
“Oh, this..” I said as I lift my hand. “Apparently, someone with a bad hobby finds it interesting to get me scream in pain. Unfortunately, they didn’t get what they want.” I smiled. Noct opens his mouth to ask something when the bell rang, signalling the start of class. All of us goes back to our seat. Well, in my case after recieving a hateful glare from Tachibana-san.
‘More importantly I wonder… Why is she targeting me? I mean, Noct’s female friends are not only I. There are Luna and Stella too…. Does she know I like him…? Well, I do like him as character in games before. And meeting him right now does make my feeling stronger… but, I am not sure if I like him as man… Besides…’ A certain scene from the game flashes in my mind. It’s overlapping in a scene I’ve seen here. ‘I am such a fool… obviously they are together…’ A bitter smile graces my lips.
The lessons went well, save for the ocasion hateful glare... okay scratch that, hateful glare all along. Lucnh break bell rings..... “Okay class, that’s all for today... oh and there is winter ball on the 28th December. All of you MUST come, it’ll be the last event for you. Class dissmissed.” Then the teacher goes out of classroom.
I groan inwardly, ‘Great… a ballroom.’ Note the sacarsm. The students scatters, chatting about the ball, while the group (girls only) advance to me.
“Soooo.....” Yuffie begins the conversation. “Who is going to be your date?” she asked excitedly.
“I don’t want to go.” I groaned again.
“You shouldn’t idle too long [Name], he will be snatched away.” Aerith said gigglig slightly.
“He? Who?” I titled my head. ‘Do I like someone?’
“Of course it’s him.” Yuffie answered.
“Tsk tsk tsk. As if [Name] will like another boy except from him.” Stella raised her brow.
“That dense man is too dense.” Luna giggled.
“Who is he exactly?” I frowned. But to them, my expression right now is quite funny because they are giggling.
“Don’t play dumb [Name]. all of us already know who is he. He is the one who gifted you the golden watch on your birthday.” Tifa said.
‘So, that was a gift from someone. And that someone is my crush so to speak…’ I blinked. ‘Who is…’ Suddenly the answer appeared itself in my mind.
*Poof* my face explodes to a blush. ‘It’s him. That man who is a trouble to me just by being here.’ I covered my face looking away from the evil grins on their faces.
“That time he was so shy. It’s funny, right?” Yuffie exclaimed.
“Hey, you guys.” I was saved by Reno. “Who are going to be you girls’ date?” He asked excitedly.
“Not again…” I groaned. “Reno, you don’t have any delicacy at all.” I whined.
“What happened to her?” Reno blinked.
“Just girl trouble.” Stella giggled followed by the rest of the girl.
“I mean you guys have fixed date already. Is there any point to ask?” I pouted. “I’m sure Tifa is going with Cloud, Aerith and Zack, Yuffie with Vincent. Stella is with Prompto and Luna will be going with No-.” I said.
“My date is a secret.” Luna cut my sentence.
“Secret?” I blinked.
“Yep. You’ll know when the time comes.” She smiled mysteriously.
“So, what about you [Name]? Wanna be my date?” He winked.
I snort, “No, thank you.” I flat out rejected him. “If I go with you. Your group of angry girlfriends will be waiting for me. Nuh-uh. I still want to be perfectly healthy, thank you.” All of them excluding Reno who is now sulking are laughing at his misfortune. “I am probably going alone. There’s no rule I can’t go alone.” I smiled. “…What’s wrong?” I blinked when I found them stared at me oddly.
“[Name]… You are quite dense…” Tifa sweatdropped.
“Huh?” I titled my head.
“[Name] you know, you are quite popular. If you say you are searching for a date. Everyone will probably line up.” Aerith giggled.
“…You are teasing me, aren’t you? I have a plain face you know. The one that is neither pretty, beautiful or cute. Besides, if I mean if I am quite popular, how come no one talk to me or better yet flirt to me?” I put an unamused face.
‘That’s because a certain someone made sure no one will not talk to you more than necessary. How can they have a gut to flirt with you with him hanging around you like a guard dog.’ All of them sweatdropped.
“Enough about me. What about the prince?” I turned my question to the prince that walked past me back to his seat.
“About what?” He sat back down.
“The winter ball. Who are you escorting?” I asked.
He snorts. “I don’t want to go.” He said.
“Me too. But we are forced to go.” I chuckled.
“I am waiting for someone.” He answered shortly. His answer makes the boys laugh. I raise my eyebrow at their odd reaction.
“You should hurry and ask her out, or else she’ll out of your reach.” Zack chuckled.
“Yep. After all the effort you put into.” Cloud nodded.
Zack’s word make my chest stings a bit. ‘What is this feeling?’ I blink the I shake my head to ignore it and chat with the rest of them.
Zack’s word is still ringing in my head. I am indeed curious as who is he going to ask, but I am more curious about the feeling in my heart just now. ’They are just characters from game, right? So, why did I have this feeling? Besides, I am sure he is going to ask Luna. No need to think that hard. They obviously are going to reveal it at the winter ball.’ I finally asleep while thinking about this.
Again, I wake up from my peaceful slumber before the alarm rings. I rub my eyes to get rid the alimighty power of sleepiness. The calendar on my wall made me realize this is Saturday. ‘Oh, it’s finally this day.’
As usual, I did my everyday routine, and then off to school. My peaceful day was once again ruined by Tachibana-san and the rabid fangirls follower.
“You! You dare to embarass me the other day, in front of my Noctis no less.” She screehed.
“My...Noctis...? Wow, I am not sure how to reply to that statement... Besides, weren’t you the one asked me about my hand, I just answered that it would be better for you to experience it first hand.” I answered effortlessly.
“You bitch!” She swung her hand to slap me. I am ready to dodge and prepare some wise words. But, her hand was caught midair by a more masculine hand.
I turn my head to get a better look of my savior. ‘Squall.’ I blinked at the unexpected character. ‘Rinoa shouldn’t be too far from Squall.’ I giggled inwardly at my own thought.
“You better stop this or you’ll get more than just slapping.” He growled. Tachibana-san turns pale. She and her follower quickly retreat back.
Then suddenly a girl pops out from his side. “Are you okay, [Name]?” Said girl is no other than Rinoa. ‘As I thought, Rinoa is not far.’ I chuckled at my own thought.
“I am fine.” I answered. “But, why are you two here?” I asked, I am not surprised with the characters popping out as my friends anymore. Last time, I found out Ignis is our Chemistry teacher and Gladioulus as our school security guard.
“Listen well! this isn’t over! I’ll make your life a living hell!” Tachibana-san sreeched which we of course ignored. The she stomps out here with her rabid fangirls follower.
“Just like always, you are a trouble magnet.” Squall Leonhart, which like to be called Leon sighed.
“You haven’t answered my question... Squeon.” I added my personal nickname just to annoy him.
“Your parents were worried, so they asked me to take care of you.” He said ignoring my nickname.
“I am fine, Squeon.” I said again.
Squall snorts, he lifts my bandaged hand, “And you said this was okay.”
“[Name], you are injured. What happened?” Worrywart Rinoa asked.
“I am okay. It’s just a small wound, Quistis said it will heal in 2 or 3 days.” I said calming Rinoa down.
Then, we heard some footsteps running toward us. The group are rushing to us. “Squall! Rinoa!” They exclaimed happily when they saw them.
“It’s Leon.” He grunted.
“Nooo, it’s Squeon.” I laughed. Squall only glares at me using his infamous glare.
“Long time no see.” Rinoa smiled.
“[Name], are you alright? I heard from some people Tachibana was bullying you, what did she do to you?” The now panicking Tifa asked.
“I am okay. she was just going to slap me, but Squeon stopped her.” I answered.
“WHAT?! She was going to slap you?! That damn bitch! How dare she!” Zack cursed.
“Calm down. I am not strupid just standing there waiting her slaps me.” I snorted. ‘Besides, which idiot will stand still when they are going to be hit.’
“By the way, if Squall and Rinoa are here. Does that mean they are going to be your care taker again?” Cloud asked.
“Yes, they are.” I said grinning.
“Oooooh, it’s rare that we can gather here together. So, how about we go to Chocobo Land  tomorrow?” Yuffie exclaimed excitedly.
“Chocobo Land.... Well, it’s been a while, the last time we go together was on [Name]’s birthday.” Aerith said. With that said, all of us decide to go to Chocobo Land tomorrow. Unbeknwon to me, I am playing right to their trap.~”~
“Eeeeehhhh~ Why can’t you go with us?” I asked, dismayed at the fact we couldn’t spend time together.
“Rinoa isn’t feeling well.” Was Squall short answer.
But I can’t shake the feeling that something is off. “She was fine yesterday.” I mumbled.
“Yesterday and today are different.” But all I did was stare, stare and stare. He sighs, “Just go already, you don’t want to be late, right?” He ushered me to go.
“Yes~” I sulked.
Arriving at the Chocobo Land. Only Noctis is at the rendezvous point. “Hey, Noct, where is the others?” I asked.
“They still haven’t arrived.” He answered.
‘Weird. They are usually on time. Maybe Yuffie will be a little late.’ I blinked at the unusual happening. And suddenly our phones ring at the same time signalling there are messages in our group chat.
Tifa
“Sorry, my parents are out of town suddenly. Need to housesit.”
Yuffie
Some brats in neighborhood are hunting my treasure. Need to safeguard it.
Zack
Am grounded. T.T
Luna
“Sis and I have trouble escaping from arranged marriage.
Stella
“Have fun. We will arrive there late.”
Aerith
“The shop is crowded. I can’t go out yet.”
Squall
“Rinoa is sick. Need to take care of her.”
Rinoa
Sorry guys.
Cloud
“Fixing my bike.”
Vincent
“…Sleepy…”
Prompto
“Helping acquaintance in photoshoot.”
‘What kind of hellish timing is this?’ I sweatdropped. ‘…No matter how I think, they are definitely setting us up.’ I sighed softly.
The two of us look at each other and sigh. “We were set up.” He said. “So, what should we do? Should we go home?” He asked again.
“Hmmm… We’re already here anyway. So, let’s just play. Just the two of us.” I grinned. A small smile is tugging on his lip hearing my sentece. But, unbeknown to us, we were followed by eight enthusiastic stalkers plus two reluctant stalkers and cameras.
Everywhere and anywhere as far as I can see, all I can see is Chocobo. The excitement is building up. “Chocobo♪~ Chocobo♪~.” I hummed out with sparkling eyes.
“Your love for Chocobo is something else.” Noct sweatdropped.
“What can I say, I just love Chocobo.” I giggled. “Then, our first ride will be that.” I pointed to the Chocobo Jet that was quite far from our meeting point.
“Figures you will ride that first.” Noctis chuckled.
“Let’s go!” I giggled excitedly. ‘Just for today. Let me spend a quality time with him. Yes…Just for today.’ The Chocobo Jet is really exciting. “I want to ride it again.” I said enthusiastically.
“Let’s ride the other attraction first. We’ll ride the roller coaster again later.” He sighed helplessly.
“It’s a promise, okay. I won’t go home if I don’t get to ride it again.” I stuck my pinky to him.
“Yes, yes. It’s a promise.” He hooked his pinky to mine. And then seamlessly warps his hand around mine and tugs me along.
I blink at the action. ‘Alert, alert. The parameter is rising.’ A slight blush adorns my cheeks. I quickly put a hand on my cheek to cool it down.
“What’s wrong?” He asked when he saw my weird action.
“Nothing!” I squeaked in high pitched voice.
He blinks, “You are so weird.” He laughed.
“I don’t want to hear that from you.” I stuck my togue out to him.
The next ride is Chocobo Cup. “Spin faster!” I laughed cheerily as I spun the cup faster.
“You’ll get dizzy later.” Noct smiled.
‘Hm…?’ from the corner of my eyes, I think I caught a glimpse of a familiar chocobo head. ‘Was I mistaken?’
“What’s wrong?” Ncoct asked when he realized I stopped spinning.
“Ah, nothing, I thought I saw Cloud.” I shook my head. “It must be my imagination. I mean this is Chocobo Land.” I laughed. All of the visitors are wearing Chocobo headband which we get as a free gift in the entrance.
“What do you want to do next?” He asked.
“Hm…Oh!” My eyes are drawn to the shooting range not far from us. More accurately, drawn to the prizes in that shooting range. “That! Let’s compete!” I turned to Noctis.
“Yes?”
“Let’s see who will get the grand prize first!” I exclaimed.
“Yo, ojou-chan, an-chan. The point for the grand prize is 150. The rule is easy. Your gun has 3 bullets. Knock down the plate with the point written on it. collect 150 points and you have the grand prize. Easy, right?” Baku explained.
“Yep!” I nodded.
“One game is 150 gil.” He smiled.
“Give us two guns.” Noct said as he handed him the money.
“Haiyo!” Baku handed us the bullet.
“The game is on!” I grinned.
~One Round Later~
“Not fair….” I sulked. In the end, Noctis wins with overwhelming victory. I don’t understand how he managed to get 200 points, while I couldn’t even get the 10 points plate down.
“Bwahahahaha! Ojou-chan, you are the best! Your skill is one in one hundred!” Baku laughed merrily.
“Sh-shut up!” I cried out.
“An-chan, your skill is amazing. Usually, the guests will spend more than 3 games to get a hang of this game.” He smirked.
“This is just a fluke. My friend happens to be good at this kind of game. I was only following his advice.” Noct answered.
“Heh. I want to meet this friend of yours.” Baku smirked.
“Next time, I guess.” Noct shrugged his shoulder.
“Bahahaha! I can’t wait!” Baku laughed harder.
While those two are chatting. I am already at my own land of misery. “I am sorry Chocobo. I can’t get you. I am sorry I am such a failure.” I murmured.
“So, what happen to Ojou-chan?” Baku sweatdropped.
“She just happened to love Chocobo a bit too much. Too much that I am jealous.”
“Bwahahaha! You win the game, but lost the war. I really pity you, An-chan” Baku patted his shoulders.
“Haahh…” He sighed. “[Name]. Here, this is yours.” Something is shoved to my face. It’s the grand prize of the shooting range, Golden Chocobo.
“For me?” I blinked.
“Of course.” He rolled his eyes. “If I don’t give it to you. You’ll keep staring at me as if you are having a grudge on me.” He smirked.
“I-I will not.” I flushed.
“Ojou-chan!” Baku called.
“Yes?”
“Here. A consolation prize.” Baku gave me two droppy chocobo hat. “Thanks to Ojou-chan, I have a great laugh today.” Baku grinned.
“Thank you!” I quickly put it on my head, while keeping the headband I got on my small backpack I brought. “Noct, you wear one too.” I gave the hat to him. The said man obediently bends down his body so I can put it on him. “We match!” I laughed happily, completely missing his softened look to me.
“Bahahaha! I pray for your success, an-chan.” Baku laughed.
“Thanks.” Noct replied. While I completely don’t understand what they were talking about. “Let’s go. We still have many attractions to ride.” He tugged my hand along.
“Yes!” ‘I think whether this is a dream or reality, this will be the happiest day of my live.’
Our next destination is, “Chocobo House!!!” I shrieked at the sight. I rush to the house, wanting to see it up close and personal.
“Hey! Don’t run!” I heard Noct’s warning.
“Don’t worry! I am not a child. I won’t fall down. Hurry up! Hurry up!” I urged him.
“We need to buy tickets first.” He sighed.
“Ah.” I blinked, completely forgotten that. Noct rolls his eyes as he pays for the tickets.
“Thank you for the purchase. Please enjoy the house.” The staff smiled.
Chocobo House, truly befitting the name. The house is basically Chocobo den. Look right, there will be a lot of Chocobo. Look left, there will be a lot of Chocobo. Look up, there will be a lot of Chocobo lantern. Look down, the tile is Chocobo pattern. And in the center if the house, there is the fat Chocobo.
“….Can I take that home?” I muttered out loud.
“Will it fit in your room?” Noct sweatdropped.
“I have an unused room. It will fit there. I can just move my Chocobo shrine there.” My eyes sparkled.
“Oi oi oi. Will they even let you buy it. Rather, even if they are willing to sell. Does your pocket money enough?” Noct sighed.
“Hmmm…. I should really get a part time job.” I muttered as I trying to calculate how much the Fat Chocobo will cost.
“Wait! Wait! They are selling the miniature version of Fat Chocobo. Let’s take a look.” Noct dragged me to the merchandise counter. In the end, I buy the Fat Chocobo plushie. More precisely, it was bought for me.
“I could buy it myself. You’ve paid for the rides and tickets. I can at least buy the merchandise myself.” I pouted and frowned as I hugged the plushie.
“It’s fine. I just want to. My father told me I need to spoil you to win your heart. He even willingly and happily to let me spend money to make you his daughter in law.” He muttered.
“Hm? What did you say?” I couldn’t hear the second part of his sentences.
“Nothing. Let’s ride that next.” He pointed to the Chocobo-go-round.
“Okay!” ~”~
“I am hungry~” I whined as I sat on the park bench.
“It’s already 1.00 p.m.” Noctis said as he looked at his watch. “The food court is over there.” Noctis said.
“Yosh! After lunch, we are going to continue.” I beamed, while my companion just shook his head at my antics. “Hey, don’t tell me you don’t enjoy it. Because we know it’s a lie.” I pointed my finger to him.
“I never said I didn’t.” He chuckled.
“Then all is well.” I grinned.
We are sitting in the food court, waiting for our order. The topic of our conversation is the hellish timing our friends have. “They are definitely…” I trailed off.
“…Doing this in purpose…” He finished.
“There’s no way they have this kind of convenient timing of not going. Well, in Zack’s case… he might be really grounded.” I giggled as we glanced secretly to the seats behind us.
“He-hey! Don’t be too noisy, they’ll find out.” A familiar voice of Tifa was heard.
“But, I can’t hear what are they talking about.” Yuffie whined.
“What a sloppy tailing.” I sniggered.
“They really… have too much free time.” Noct sighed.
“They seem don’t know that we’ve know they tailed us from the start.” I laughed merrily, really enjoying this charade. From the corner of my eyes, I can see now they are fighting for food, Zack and Cloud plus Yuffie. “Let’s caught them red handed later.” I laughed.
“Here are your orders.” A kind waitress set down our food.
“Thank you.” We thanked her.
“Please enjoy!” She smiled cheerily.
“Thanks for the food.” ~”~
“Noct. Let’s go over there.” I pointed to an ice-cream stall.
“Didn’t you just eat lunch?” He blinked.
“If it’s for ice cream, I am sure my stomach will make more room.” I answered.
“….What flavor?” He could only helplessly ask.
“Sea-salt ice cream!” I said excitedly.
“Wait here.” He told me and he is off to the stall.
“Ah, I want ice cream too.” I heard Yuffie whined.
“If we go now. We’ll be caught.” Stella reminded.
“But… ice cream…” I could already imagine her face looked like a kicked puppy.
“We need to endure.” Luna said sternly.
“Here.” Noct came back with an ice cream.
“Where is yours?” I blinked as I took the ice cream.
“I am good.” He said.
“Is that so?” I licked the ice. “Mmmnn… It’s delicious.” My eyes sparkled. “Here. Have a taste. It’s delicious. Delicious food should be shared to double the deliciousness.” I grinned.
“…Then, I’ll be happy to oblige.” He smiled softly as eat the ice from my hand.
“How is it? Isn’t it delicious?” I asked animatedly.
“Yeah. It’s delicious.” A ghost smile on his lips.
“See! I told you, you should buy one for yourself.” I said smugly. I quickly devour the ice cream until I realize what have I done. *Poof* ‘He ate mine…. Indirect kiss… No no no, let’s not think about it.… Okay, breathe in… breathe out… It’s okay. It’s just indirect kiss. No biggie….NO! it’s not okay for my heart! Does he even realized what he has done! I know I was the one offered it to him, but…’
“Why is your face red? Is it heatstroke?” He frowned.
“No! I am fine! Completely fine. It’s only a little bit too hot! It’s not a heatstroke!” The completely flustered me squeaked out. “Let’s go there!” I randomly pointed a ride and hurried there, missing the knowing smirk on his face.
The clock has shown 5.30 p.m. the only remaining ride is, “Hey, Noct. Let’s ride Chocobo Wheel.” I dragged him to the line. The said man allows me to drag him, he’s suprisingly obidient.
The Ferris Wheel stops when we are at the top. “When are we going to catch them red handed?” He smirked.
“You’ll see.” I grinned mischievously. “As expected from the highest point. I can see all of them park from here. It’s beautiful.” I was awed by the breathtaking view.
“Indeed…” What I didn’t know is, he wasn’t talking about the view.
The ride has ended. We are back on the land. “Ah! I have to call Squeon, first. I am worried about Rinoa.” I said out loud, letting our stalkers hear. “If he has something he needs, I can swing to the nearest drug store.” I fished out my phone from my bag. Can practically hear the nervous choked sounds from our stalkers. I push the speed dial button number 1. A familiar ringtone rings. My smile widens when I heard that.
“Hello!” I waved to them. We catch our stalkers red handed. “I thought you all have some kind of troubles.” I raised my brow.
“Ahahahha… We were just...uh…worried about you two. Yes, we were worried.” Zack laughed nervously, which then elbowed by Aerith for stuttering.
“So, did you guys get nice pictures? Because I am expecting it.” I snickered.
“I thought you were grounded, Zack.” Noct smirked.
“Hey, everyone! The photos are done. What are- “Yuffie stopped in mid sentence when she saw us. “Ahahahaha. Hello, [Name].” Yuffie greeted me.
“Geh! Noct!” Prompto gasped.
“Yuffie~, Prompto ~ What about those pictures in your hands?” I asked with a smile etched on my face.
“O-oh, th-this is..” She trailed off, senaking a glance on me, I still waiting her answer with a smile. “Eheheheh.... Okay, I give up. Here, all yours.” She gave us the photos they took. To put it simply, those are our candid photos. There are also the others but mostly about me and Noctis.
“Awww, this one is soo cute.” Tifa cooed. The pictures she chooses is the one when Noct was eating my ice cream. The angle is good. It’s just quite embarrassing.
“Heheh. Mine is this.” Luna chose the time when I put Chocobo hat on Noct.
“Oh. I like this one.” Stella picked our competition in shooting range.
“This one is good.” Aerith liked the one where I hug the huge Fat Chocobo in Chocobo House.
“Oookay. Let’s save this for later. For the last ride, we’ll go on Chocobo Jet. I will not allow any objection.” I exclaimed happily. For the last ride. We are fortunate the ride is enough for all of us.
“It was fun! It’s been a while I play this much.” I stretched.
“We should come here together again.” Rinoa smiled.
“Agreed! But no more stalking.” I laughed.
Time sure flies fast. It’s already one week before Christmas, we the girls are shopping for Christmas gift. ‘Sooo, what should I buy? Let’s just buy what they can use everyday.’ The other girls already busy choosing their own gifts. I am just strolling in the accesorries shop. After all of us finished, we head back to home. ~”~
It’s finally Christmas. The girls agreed to gather at Tifa’s house and give a make-over to each other, while I opted to not involved which is not an option. I am also dragged in to the whole fiasco. Exactly 7 p.m. We heard the knock, signaling the boy group has come.
“Merry Christmas.” Zack said excitedly.
“Merry Christmas.” We greeted. After we greeted each other, the party starts. I give them their respective gifts. Earrings for Tifa, bracelet for Yuffie, a necklace for Stella and Luna, a phone case for Vincent, a dress for Aerith, a google for Cloud, another dress for Rinoa and a for Zack, my self proclaimed brother, I gave him a pair of shoes. For my dearest cousin, it’s a leather jacket.
I am now down to the last person, but the said person isn’t in the room. The gift is still clutched in my hand. I see Tifa tilts her head to the yard, I nod and flash a grateful smile.
I found him gazing stars. “Not going to enter?” I asked.
Noctis glances at me and then back to the stars. “Too noisy.” Was his short answer. I laugh lightly at his short, but clear answer.
There is a comfortable silence between us, until I remember the reason I searched him. “Here.” I gave him the small blue box.
“For me?” I nodded at his question. Then he also pulls out something small from his pocket and gives it to me. I look at the gift curiously. I try to guess what’s in this little black box. Seeing the blatant curiosity on my face, Noctis chuckles. “Open it.” He said. With that said, I open the box excitedly. There, in the black box there is a ring necklace. My name is carved on the ring. My eyes widened and let out a small laugh. Noctis only stares at me with raised eyebrow.
“Open my gift.” I said still laughing. With a strange look he opens the box. His eyes also widen, there in the blue box I gave him, there’s also a same ring necklace. the only difference is the carved names. Then a small laugh also escapes from his lips.
“Will you allow me to escort you in the winter ball?” He asked.
This question caught me off guard. I never thought he will ask me let alone think about it. I look left, right and then behind me to see if someone is there. “…Are you practicing so you can ask Luna?” I blinked.
“Why are you bringing up Luna?” He frowned.
“Eh? Why? Because isn’t that so?” I was taken back.
“It’s not.” He sighed exasperated.
“Then… If you are fine with me. I’ll be happy to take on your offer.” I smiled. ~”~
The day before the ball. The girls agree to meet up again in Tifa’s house right after school. They are going to match the dress they’ve bought with their accessories. “Hm? [Name], where’s your dress?” Luna asked.
“Ah, I don’t have one I was sure I am going alone, so I didn’t buy dress. I am going to wear school uniform. The rule didn’t specifically say the dress code is an evening dress.” I smiled sheepishly.
“School…” (Stella)
“Uni…” (Aerith)
“…form” (Tifa)
“You said?!” (Luna)
“Huh? Isn’t Noctis escorting you?” Yuffie blinked.
“He did two days ago. It’s just, I don’t have time to pick up dress. So, I am going to wear school uniform.” I nodded.
“Change of plan.” Stella said seriously.
“Yes. We have a change of plan.” Luna agreed.
“Huh?” I blinked.
“We are going to shop for your dress right now.” Aerith smiled.
“Eh? Right now. We don’t have that much time…anymore.” I finished timidly, seeing their scary smiles.
“Sorry [Name}. Even I can’t help you.” Yuffie said. ~”~
At last, the most dreaded day that I wish never come is finally here. 28th December, that means the winter ball. ‘Why it has to be a ballroom, can we just change to more casual party?’ I groaned.
“[Name], you shouldn’t put that kind of face. You are the prince’s date, are you not?” Zack teased.
“The said prince has the same opinion as me.” I said unamused. The girls and the boys wear a matching color, including Noct and I. Apparently, Luna called Noct and asked, no demanded him to wear a cobalt blue suit, so he can match with my dress.
The hall is decorated just like a real ballroom. There are also snacks and drinks there. Once we enter the hall, Reno instantly flies to the other side of the hall sweet talking to a group of girls. The others asked their dates to dance with them. Being a gentleman he is, our favourite prince also asks me to dance. “I can’t dance.” I smiled wryly.
“Don’t worry. Just follow my lead. Waltz is an easy dance.” He said taking my hand. We dance peacefully until someone with the name of Tachibana Kirika ruins it.
“Noctis dear~” She called with such coquettish voice that it actually made me had a goosebumps. “I am sure I can be a better partner than this plain looking girl.” Tachibana-san winked at him.
“Sorry if I am plain looking. At least, you should learn how to wear a proper make up. The color doesn’t suit you.” I rolled my eyes.
“No, thank you.” He refused politely.
But that sets Tachibana-san in rage. “Exactly what did you see in this girl?” She screeched and pointed her finger to me. “I am prettier and a ton of guys asked me to be their date.” She yelled.
Noctis narrows his eyes. “Then, you can have them to accompany you. Listen, I am tired of your antics. Don’t you dare badmouth her! The next time you do so, I won’t forgive you!” Noctis snapped. Then, Noct storms out from the hall, leaving the said girl there standing dumbfounded and biting her fingernail.
‘Wow, this is the first time I see him angry.’ I too, quietly leaving the hall searching for my partner.
“So, you are here.” I said after I found him on the rooftop. He only stands there unmoving. “Still angry?” I asked.
“Not anymore.” He answered.
“I doubt she will stalk you after your outburst just now.” I laughed.
“She better be.” He let out a snort.
“Hey, Noct.”
“Hm?”
“What was the meaning of the word carved in the golden watch?” I asked as I took out the watch from my dress’ small pocket.
“Are you curious about that?” He asked.
“Very.” Was my answer.
“That is-” He walked closer to me without breaking the eye contact. He stands right in front of me, making me wait with bated breath. He bends down so his mouth right beside my ear, and whispers softly. “Eternal bond.” After saying that, he stood straight. A small smile on his lip, satisfied with my now blushing face.
“You-! Can just say it normally.” I glared at him. The futile glare only makes him smiles. He pulls me toward him. “Wha-” I blinked rapidly as he pressed his lips to mine.
‘Unable to process. [Name].exe crashed.’
I suddenly wake up from my nap and look at my surrounding. I am in my room, the same room before all of that happen, my workbook is still on my desk untouched. “I see, that was a dream after all.” I said disappointed. I blush again remembering the last part of the dream. “What an outrageous dream I had.” I sweatdropped. I put my finger on my lips as if I can still feel the warmth.
“[Name], you idiot. That was just a dream.” I scolded myself. “Rather than thinking about it, I should take a bath.” I mumbled walking to the bathroom. Unbeknown to me there are a ring necklace with my name and a golden watch with its lid opened on my desk.
“Our bond is eternal”

"I had no idea I could change someone's life."
One Shot. Word Count | Around 3300. Description | <French female pov> you're visiting Rome for the first time, and you casually meet Damiano David the day before the Circo Massimo concert. The conversation takes a unexpected path.
Content | Real talk. No romantic development. * Expect French idioms and italian approximations from automatic translators
---
"Bordel, c'est immense !" ("Holy cow, that's big !") I said, looking at the Circo Massimo.
It was my first time in Rome. Knowing Italy a bit, I expected a hell lot of sun, a delicious bunch of ice cream for each meal, and tons of pretty things to snap with my phone. Well, that was the plan for my first two days there. Cause Saturday would be a very different day. Saturday would be Måneskin day.
I've been waiting for so long to do this trip. And what a blast it has been for now. Took only a bag, my external battery, some makeup and my favourite clothes to finally discover this astonishing city. This was my first solo trip. I've always travelled with my family or my ex, but never on my own. For once, I could decide what I wanted to see, what I wanted to eat, when to take a break. And as there are plenty of things to see in Rome, i wanted to enjoy every second of my trip. I could focus my last day there solely to the Måneskin concert happening that Saturday night. But as I didn't want to leave anything to chance, I decided to precisely organize my last day, so I could visit a bit more - a get a last fantastic meal before the concert.
I got myself a gold pit ticket. I guessed that would mean I had a special queue. So on Friday night, as I was back from a late tour in town, I decided to watch more closely the Circo, to check for the entrances, and see how I could sharpen my organization and schedule for the next day.
"J'espère que je vais pas avoir à poireauter toute la journée, avec la chaleur qu'il va faire." ("I hope won't have to hang around here all day tomorrow, the weather's gonna be hot as hell")
It was almost 10 pm. I was getting closer to the Circo, trying to read the boards, but all was written in italian and didn't seem to concern the concert. And a year fangirling over Måneskin clearly wasn't enough to become fluent. I saw no sign mentioning "gold pit". So I decided I would ask around, with Google translate ready in my phone in case I couldn't find anyone speaking English.
I saw a guy sit on a bench, smoking. He was dressed in an ugly dark sweater, with the hood over a cap. He was either a drug dealer or a hobbo. My instinct as a girl living in Paris got the uphand and I decided to ignore the guy and try to find a woman instead, or maybe a group of locals, to get me the information I wanted. Unfortunately, after a good 20 minutes walking around and asking people, no one could tell me how to make sure I find the right queue for the concert. I was about to give up and head back to my airbnb and I saw a silhouette still sitting on a bench, near the Circo. It was the same guy from earlier. "Bon, je tente, s'il est trop chelou, je me barre." ("Well, might as well take the risk, if he's too much a weirdo, I clear off quickly.")
"Scusi, do you speak English ?" i said, getting closer to the guy, but still from a good distance in case it turned wrong.
"Pretty good. You need something ?" He was searching something in his pockets and reached his pack of cigarettes. His voice was deep, but gentle. He did look funny but didn't sound dangerous - i still didn't get too close as I hate the smell of smoke.
"Do you know well il Circo Massimo ? I'm going to a concert here tomorrow and I want to make sure I find the right queue, but they haven't installed any sign yet". I asked, showing the structure of the stage behind me.
"Cute accent, where are you from ?" he answered, completely ignoring my question.
"Well, I'm French. So, do you know il Circo ?" I preferred to quickly repeat my question to let him know I wasn't interested in whatever he was trying to.
"Ah, Bonjour ! I speak a little French !" He said, now reaching for his lighter.
"Yeeaaaah cool, but how about the Circo ? I'd like to be here early enough, but I don't know wh-" I froze as he lighted up his cigarette. It was brief, but with the spark, I saw his face for a second.
"Hm ? You don't know what ?" He asked, with a smirky voice.
"Mais naaaan ?" ("Dont tell me -") I let out that typical French astonished sound without thinking. "You gotta be kidding me !"
He laughed as I was getting a little closer, staring at him. With one hand, he was putting his lighter back in his pocket, with the other, he lifted a bit his cap. It was him. It was Damiano.
I felt my spine shiver with that uncomfortable sensation of being around someone famous. As a journalist, I had my lot of interviews, so I knew there's no point in changing behavior around such people. But I still was flabbergasted to see him.
"Sorry, I didn't recognize you. Well, gotta say you're not dressed in your best outfit !" I chose the strategy of sass, to hide how impressed I actually was.
"That's my favourite sweater you're seeing me in, and I'm smoking hot in it" He said with a smirk, getting into the sassy game.
"Time off before the big day ?" I asked, completely forgotting about my initial request and switching to my interview mindset when I'm super focused about the conversation. "Shouldn't you be having a great night of sleep, to recharge your batteries ?"
"I don't feel like going to bed" He said, having no idea how the conversation would soon turn. Fortunately for him, I wasn't working in the music media industry. "That's quite a stage we're gonna play on."
I didn't know why he was talking to me about all of this. I didn't dare to ask him either. I just enjoyed the moment.
"Well, the Eurovision song contest was bigger, wasn't it ?"
"Hm, don't tell me about it, I still don't know how I managed that."
He suddenly had a strange tone in his voice. It didn't sound like the radiant and confident Damiano you see on Instagram stories or on TV interviews. I remembered where I heard him like that. In the 2019 documentary "This is Måneskin", the making of Il Ballo Della Vita album, in the sequence he's arguing with Vic on a train, as he tells her how anxious he can be get sometimes.
"Well, you did, didn't you ?" I put on a more serious voice. "And you had a ton more of pressure, representing your whole country ? So how a concert here in your home town could be worst than performing in front of all of Europe - not to say the whole world ?"
He was still smoking, listening in silence.
"Or maybe it isn't about how big the performance is but about performing in itself ? Why are you performing ? Why are you putting on a show ? All those fancy clothes and that makeup, who is it for ? For people to love you ? Or for you to love yourself ?"
Mais qu'est-ce que je branle ? Il va se barrer dans deux secondes, là c'est sûr (What the fuck am I doing ? He's leaving any second now.) I got a bit too excited about being able to share a few words with him. What's gotten onto me ? Well, let's go then.
"What is it you're running after ? Or running from maybe ? Some complex to compensate ? With all that smudge and confidence, that wouldn't surprise me."
He sat back on the bench. As he inhaled a deep breath of smoke, I saw a smile on his face. But I also saw his hand holding the cigarette shaking.
"Are you a psychiatrist or something ?" He simply said, as if he was trying to keep his voice as steady as possible.
I hesitated to tell him the truth. I was sure he would walk away the second he would know my actual job. Et puis merde, autant tout dire. (Well, fuck, might as well be honest.)
"Nope, I'm a journalist." I admited, as he looked right back at me with a surprised look. "Pretty much the same. We get appoitments with random people, listen to their life, observe their body language, and tell them our whole opinion about all of it, which might very well shape how they perceive themselves from now on."
"Only difference is that you don't have to keep anything secret. Right the contrary."
There. This was it. He was gonna leave now, for sure.
"Before you go, did I hit any truth ? Don't worry, I'm not in the music media industry, I won't write anything from our conversation." I hoped this information would save me a few more seconds with him.
He didn't answer right away. He didn't leave either. He kept looking at me, still smoking his second cigarette in a row now.
"Whatever it is you write about, I guess you must be good at it" he finally replied. "Cause you did score a few points."
Another short silence broke. As a fan, I was obsessed with his music, lyrics, and attitude. But catching a glimpse of what lied behind the glamour definitly caught my interest. I wanted to know more.
"Why are you here ?" I slightly deepened my voice, getting back to my interview tone, and kept on going with this as if that was usual business for me. "It's half past 10. You play on Rome's largest stage tomorrow. You surely better should be in bed, or be about to, before the big day."
In that moment, I had the upper-hand in the conversation. He was sat on the bench, I was on my feet in front of him, and therefore above him. Not the best approach to get someone's trust for an interview, but with a personnality like Damiano's, you gotta put your own show.
"I actually don't sleep much before big events like these" He finally answered, accepting his condition as an interviewee. "I don't sleep much at all."
"You're tend to insomnia ?"
"Not really, I just got used to 4-5 hours of sleep, that's it."
"Even during tours ? Cause this all sold-out European tour for Teatro d'Ira must have been exhausting".
"You have no idea, bellezza."
"So tell me." From there, I decided to change my strategy and sat on the ground, still in front of him, but giving him the upper-hand, to put on a more trustful atmosphere. "How are you doing ? And I don't mean, like casual 'yay, fine', I mean : how are you doing ?"
I still have no idea of my tactical move of giving him more space to express himself worked, or if he understood right away where I was leading him, but in the end, he still didn't seem bothered by this conversation we were having. In fact, it looked like he was enjoying it.
"I'm... content, I'd say." He paused, and I didn't interrupt him with another question this time. "I know I'm going through the life I wanted. The music, the tours, the praise. It's all I could have ever asked for."
D'accord, très bien, mais ? (Okey, very good, but ?) I stayed silent, but I couldn't help anticipating what he was saying.
"But surprisingly, sometimes it's still... unfulfilling. Like I can never be satisfied".
Repressing some Hamilton's lyrics from my mind, I innocently pretend I didn't fully understand what he meant - another journalistic technique, to get someone to repeat themselves with other words in order to get them deeper into their reflexion.
"What do you mean, "never be satisfied" ? You're on top of Spotify chart list, your albums are now platinum successes, you're winning awards. How is this not satisfying ?"
"It's just... What are all those things for ? Money ? Fame ? Yeah, I like those but..."
"Typical Capricorn" I muttered, to slide in the conversation that I actually knew pretty well my subject - my subject being him. He chuckled.
"Damn really ? Let me guess ? Aries ?"
"Pisces+Taurus, actually. So what, you don't like being famous ?" Getting back quickly into more questions - another technique to keep control over the rhythm of an interview.
"It's not that I dislike it. It's just... not always as fun as I thought it would be."
"What part of the job ? The writing and composing ?"
"No, that's the best part." He reached for a third cigarette. It was almost 11 pm now. "Vic, Thomas and Ethan. Måneskin. They're the best thing that ever happened to me".
"Then what, you feel like a fraud ?"
"Hell, no ! I'm exactly where I should be." He claimed, with a light pride tone.
"So, if you're proud of what you create, and if you love the people you create that with, then what is the matter ? If life is about getting the Bare Necessities, it seems like you got it all." Hitting with a universal - and musical - reference. Shoud do the trick.
"Hahaha ! Lo stretto indispensabile, si ! But life isn't that easy." He said laughing, as I felt he started to let go of the tension. "In real life, you get judged all the time, and people try to dismantle you, and spread rumors."
"I didn't think you'd be one to listen to people's comments about you".
"I'm not. I stopped giving credits to those. But it's still here, you know ?"
"From what I see, you're keeping it real, with lots of wisdom. I can't quite grasp what seem to bother you."
He paused, looking at his feet for a few seconds.
"I'm afraid it won't last." He finally confessed. "I'm afraid it all ends as quickly as it all started. I'm afraid people get bored. I'm afraid I become a caricature of myself. I'm afraid I can't write new songs. I'm afraid to be a shooting star, you see ? Very bright, but gone in a flash."
"Like, to be an Icare ? Or may I say "Ykaaar" like on your Instagram ?"
He chuckled again.
"Huh, I'm that obvious ?"
"Yeah, even a bit over-the-top, if I may dare say so."
"Well, I've always related so much with this mythological figure. I mean what's wrong with aiming for the Sun ?" He said, pointing a hand to the dark sky above us. From his attitude, I could tell he was way more relaxed than in the beginning. He even took his cap and hood off, so I could now see his face more clearly. His eyes were glittering. "Burning your wings... What's that morale supposed to teach us ? Be modest ? Be moderate ? Che noia !" (How boring !)
"Well don't be !" I felt almost like scolding him. "There's nothing wrong with seeking big dreams. As there's nothing wrong with this feeling of being outrun by your life. Savour the moment. Every second of it. It's because you can't know how long it may last that it tastes so good, so thrilling ! And you actually already are ten steps ahead ! Writing songs like ´Torna a casa' or ´Coraline' at, what, 19-20 years old ? You're the real deal, dude. And even if later on, you get blank page anxiety or write just good-enough songs, it's okey. You got plenty of time to make mistakes. Take the leap of faith. Failing and being a failure aren't the same. You learn, you grow from it. It's okey to doubt yourself, but please, don't ever doubt all the love and support you get."
I paused, hoping I didn't do too far and missed my point. But in a way, I could also feel I got it right. He was looking at the Circo, his eyes even more sparkling than before.
"I..." He got up, standing on the bench, looking as tall as a statue from my perspective. He came down and took a few steps. I got on my feet, starting to feel concerned about what I just said.
"I didn't know I needed to hear that." He finally confided. "I always wanna reach perfection. I'm aware I can be authoritative, sometimes even harsh, on the band. I can't accept to be a failure. But love and support, that, I can't get enough of."
I didn't respond. There was nothing to add. This instant felt like an hour. The wind was slightly blowing through the length of the Circo in front of us. His hair reflected the gentle light of the moon, only showing her first quarter. He broke the tranquility of the moment, turning and taking a few steps in my direction.
"Grazie mille" he said, his arms opened, calling for a hug.
"But, you're very welcome" I said approaching him, softly putting my arms on his back as he put his over my shoulders. The second before his face disappeared from my vision, i noticed a tear on his cheek.
"You've completed reset my mind. I feel like I can start all over again. I was anguished, trapped by my anxiety. But it's all gone now. You've changed me. Thank you, thank you so much" He affirmed full of hope, his voice shivering.
"Wow, well. I had no idea I could change someone's life." I answered, trying to hide how moved I myself was from the conversation.
------
It was almost midnight now. We kept talking for a while, comparing life in Rome and Paris, exchanging what was our best concert experiences. But he still needed to get back home to rest before the concert, and I didn't want to arrive too late at my airbnb - even if I could have spent the whole night talking with him. Yet, to enjoy our last few minutes together, he offered to walk me back to where I was staying. It was just a 15 minutes walk, along the Tevere river bank.
"So tell me." he asked with a smirk. "How does the Bare Necessities go in French ?" He started to muffle the melody.
"Oh no, you don't expect me to actually sing it ?"
"Hehe, you got me into a therapy session, so I can get a little song from you, no ?"
"Damn, you. This is blackmail !" But drunk on the moment, I took a deep breath.
"Il en faut peeeeeeu pour être heureux, ("Look for the baaaaare necessities,") vraiment très peu pour être heureux, ("the simple bare necessities") il faut se satisfaire du nécessaire !" ("Forget about your worries and your strife")"
I started dancing along, if I had to be ridiculous, might as well utterly be. But he actually followed my lead, clicking his fingers.
"In fondo, baaaasta il minimo, ("I mean the baaaaare necessities") sapessi quanto è facile ("Old Mother Nature's recipes") Trovar quel po' che occorre per campar ! ("That brings the bare necessities of life !")
We kept on singing Disney songs for a few minutes as we walked at a slow pace - I was shocked he never saw Tarzan and immediately made him promise to watch it as i told him Phil Collins recorded all the songs in five languages, including Italian. When we finally reached my destination, we exchanged a last timid hug as farewell.
"Well, I'll see you on stage tomorrow." I told him as I crossed the street.
"And I'll look for you in the crowd !" He shouted with the brightest smile on his perfect face.

Of Mermaids and Men pt 1 | Feysand
I got a lovely ask from an anonymous sender requesting a Feysand fic in a mermaids and pirates AU. This is something I would not have thought of myself in a million years, so whoever you are, thank you for this prompt!! Might be a sort of two-shot deal, we'll see how we go.
Feyre had been in this tank for 63 days. She knew this not because the lamps ever turned off or gave her a sense of day or night, not because there was any natural light to indicate what hour of day it might be, not because there was anything at all to mark the passing of time. But because the head scientist walked in every morning and dictated notes to his assistant: "The date is the 22nd of March, in the year of our lord 1705. This is day 63. Subject 104 seen resting on floor of the tank, appears to have eaten the fish we fed it. Mermaid diet apparently indiscriminate."
Feyre hissed at this. She hadn't wanted to eat anything they had given her, but they only fed her every three days and the hunger took over. The scientist raised an eyebrow. "Subject 104 baring teeth, does not seem to be adjusting to new social environment."
What social environment? Feyre thought. She was alone in the tank, and the scientist never addressed her directly.
Once, when she was first caught, the scientist's red headed assistant attempted to communicate with her. He had put a hand up to the glass, and said "Hello mermaid. My name is Lucien, and this is Tamlin."
Feyre had been so scared, and so disoriented that all she could do was swim in circles, looking for an exit.
"Come away from there," the head scientist had said. "Don't bother the subjects, they can't understand you. And besides, you'll ruin the integrity of the experiments."
So Lucien had shot her a sad and sorry glance, and walked away. And no one had spoken to her since.
Of course, Feyre had tried to talk to them. But they didn't understand her, didn't have ears that could hear under water. She gave up eventually, and now spent her days sitting on the floor of the tank and hoping they'd either release her or kill her quickly.
So when the pirates appeared hours after the scientists had left that day, Feyre was more shocked than anyone.
It had started with a grinning face over the top of the tank. Feyre didn't notice at first, but then the head cast a shadow and it was so rare for changes in the light that Feyre looked up. And saw a smiling face, dark hair falling into his eyes and cheekbones as sharp as knives. The face disappeared as fast as it had come, and then before Feyre could wonder who that was, the tank lurched violently to the left.
Feyre put her hands out to catch herself against the glass, and then she was being tipped the other way. She scanned the room, and could now see two very large men, a tall blonde woman, and a short dark haired lady who was standing back and seemed to be directing the whole operation.
They were rocking the tank so they could slide a wooden platform under her, which had small wheels attached to each corner. Then ropes were being thrown around the tank to lash it to the board, and finally the two big men were hauling the ropes over their shoulders. Feyre startled when the first grinning man hopped up onto the platform with her, and braced his arms on the glass.
"Hello darling," he said. "My name is Rhys. What's yours?" Feyre stared into his violet eyes, ringed with dark kohl. He had several gold loops threaded through his ears, and numerous silver rings on his fingers. His loose linen shirt was rolled up at the sleeves to reveal black and orange tattoos up his forearms. "Feyre," she answered him, before she could remember that human ears could not hear her under water.
But Rhys just smiled wider. "Nice to meet you Feyre. We're breaking you out, if that's okay with you." Feyre just gaped at him, and Rhys' eyes turned soft.
"You've been in here a long time, I think. I'm sorry it took us so long to get to you. Tamlin's got more fae in here than we realised." "There are more? I haven't seen anyone." "Yeah everyone's in individual tanks so they can't interact." Rhys looked angry now. "I'd go after him myself, but we have to get you all to safety first. You were the one furthest back, so unfortunately we got to you last."
The wooden board was rolling now, bumpy and uneven. Rhys looked up at the top of the tank, where water was sloshing out from under the lid.
"Where are we going?" Feyre asked. "Well, first we have to get you out of this place. We've drugged the guards so that should be no problem, they haven't bothered us with any of the others. Then we'll split up, Mor and Cassian will take a number of fae back to the forest, some will just fly away, and you we will have to get back to the ocean.
The ocean. The big, wide open space where Feyre could actually move around. She swallowed. Rhys caught the moment, and gave her a small smile.
"Don't worry, Feyre darling. We'll get you home soon." "Who are you all?" Feyre asked. Rhys grinned again. "Pirates," was all he said. And then he had to be quiet as they rounded a corner where there were indeed, guards slumped over in their chairs. Now that they had left the lab, Feyre noticed it was dark, and there were stars out.
"It's a little way out," he said more quietly. "We got horses and a wagon but I'm afraid it's not going to be a particularly comfortable journey for you." "It took two days coming in," Feyre said. Rhys nodded. "We're pretty far from the ocean. I've been tracking Tamlin for a while now, we first noticed him out on the water but we couldn't attack at the time. We're just one measly pirate ship, he was part of a whole fleet. And then we lost him for a bit, when there was a bad storm. Figured he'd headed back to land, but where exactly that was we didn't know. Finally got wind of his laboratory set-up two weeks ago, and have been slowly putting plans together and infiltrating his space ever since."
Feyre wondered how many fae they had rescued. She was just about to ask, when the platform stopped moving. The short haired woman came up to Rhys. "Trouble ahead," she said. "Five new guards, panic is starting because the lab's empty." "Take Mor and Azriel," Rhys said. "Keep them away from us. Cassian and I will get Feyre back to the wagon." Amren nodded once, and then disappeared.
"Sorry dear," Rhys said. "Looks like I'm on hauling duty. I'll keep an eye on you but if you feel the tank slipping you give me a shout okay?" Feyre nodded. Rhys hopped down and took up the rope that the man he called Azriel had abandoned, and they continued pulling the platform away. Behind them, shouts and ringing steel rose up like smoke in the night.
There didn't seem to be any more trouble by the time Cassian and Rhys reached the horses. They let down a ramp and wheeled the platform and tank into the wagon, and covered the whole thing with a sheet of canvas. Feyre had been in a windowless room with the lamps on for two months, and the sudden dark was both a relief, and very frightening.
"Are you okay in there?" Rhys called. "Yes," Feyre said, but her voice shook. "I won't leave you alone," Rhys promised. "We're just waiting for the others to get back."
Sure enough, running footsteps rang out minutes later, and there was hurried movement as they all hauled onto horses and took off at speed. A minute later, the canvas lifted, and Rhys reappeared. The sight of him, even thought Feyre had only just met him, made her heart stop racing quite so painfully fast. Then he slid down into the water with her, and she moved backward in surprise.
Rhys grinned his white grin. "Surprise," he said. His voice was crystal clear underwater, and now she noticed gills flare around his neck. "You..?" "Oh yes, we're all part fae," he said. "We mostly live like humans, and then we found each other and took to the sea instead. Hungry for horizons."
Feyre barely registered what he was saying. Just threw her arms around his neck, and finally let herself cry into his chest. The past two months of being trapped in a tank alone came crashing into her, now that she was finally able to talk to and touch another being. Rhys' arms came up around her, and he stroked her hair as she shook. "It's alright now," he murmured. "It's over. You're going home."
Feyre fell asleep in his embrace.

Seeing people thirsting over my boyfriend was nothing new. I mean, how could you not? He was one of the hottest guys to ever walk the planet. However, I was used to seeing his fans thirsting over him online - commenting on his pictures and making posts about how attractive he was. To me, that was fine. I was also a fangirl of other celebrities, I understood. But it was a whole other thing to actually watch a girl try to flirt with my boyfriend in front of me, knowing fully well that I was his girlfriend.
Colson had been scheduled for an early interview one day. I was tasked with actually getting him up out of bed and to the interview on time. The interviewer, a woman that had to be in her early 20s, was wearing a short dress with a neckline that plunged so low that her tits were basically popping out of her shirt. This was the first clue that she wasn’t here for just another innocent interview. I mean, who wearing a dress like that before noon unless they’re trying to impress someone?
She smiled brightly (a little too brightly) at Colson and extended her hand. “Hi! It’s so nice to meet you.”
“You, too,” Colson responded, shaking her hand.
She completely ignored my presence, but Colson made sure she was aware of who I was. “This is my girlfriend, (Y/N). I hope you don’t mind that she’s joining us today. She keeps me from being too crazy.”
Her eyes looked at me briefly and a look of slight disgust and disappointment crossed on her face. “Of course, nice to meet you (Y/N).”
I just nodded in response. The rest of the interview went downhill from there.
The interviewer insisted that Colson’s chair be pulled close to her so that they were “both completely in frame”, however Colson’s close proximity made it easier for her to touch him during the interview. And boy, did she ever touch him. She couldn’t keep her hand off of him. Colson, being the polite and oblivious person he is, either didn’t notice or didn’t want to be rude and tell her to stop.
She kept leaning forward, making sure her cleavage was on full display for Colson to see. I could see slight irritation in her face, that she was trying to mask with a smile, at the fact that Colson didn’t even actually look down at her chest. I couldn’t help but smile cockily to myself at this.
Finally, the cameramen called for a brief break before they returned so that Colson could perform. He went to the dressing room to get dressed for his performance while the interviewer approached the snack table, which was where I was stood. She kept ignoring me, but I decided to make myself known.
“The interview seems to be going really well,” I said. She hummed in response. “You must be really cold, though. That dress is so short.”
She looked up at me long enough to glare. I smirked in response as I picked up something from the table. “Stop trying darling, he only has eyes for me.”
She raised an eyebrow at me. “We’ll see how long that lasts. You are just a no one after all, not even an attractive no one. At least I would be able to keep up with his busy lifestyle, not to mention I’m actually hot.”
Anger and jealousy was bubbling up inside of me, but I knew I couldn’t let it show in front of her. Instead, I said, “Are you sure about that? You seem sort of desperate looking to me.”
She glared as I turned to walk away towards Colson’s dressing room. I started slow, but when I knew she could no longer see me, I quickened my pace until I was nearly running to Colson’s room. I opened the door without knocking and found him in just his underwear with a joint to his lips. When he heard the door open, he quickly scrambled to grab a pair of pants that was discarded on the floor.
“Fuck, haven’t any of you heard of knocking!” he snapped. He turned and sighed in relief when he saw it was me. “Sorry babe, I thought you were one of the producers.”
I let my eyes wander over his half naked body, reminding myself that, no matter what that bitch said, the man stood before me was mine and mine alone, and he always would be.
“How long until you have to be back on set?” I asked.
Colson shrugged. “About ten minutes now I think.”
I nodded. “Okay, that’s enough time.”
“Enough time for what?”
I nearly tackled him in response, wrapping my arms around his neck and roughly pressing my lips to his. He didn’t question my sudden urgency, he simply wrapped his arms around my waist and held me to him. I could feel his bulge already pressing against my leg.
With ease, Colson lifted me and placed me on the makeup table that was in the room. Without breaking the kiss, he slid his hands down to my pants and roughly pulled them, and my panties, down until they were around my ankles. I slid his underwear down his legs and wrapped my around him, bringing him close to me.
He lined himself up with my entrance and pushed himself into me. I let out a moan that Colson quickly had to muffle with his hand as he began to thrust quickly and roughly. My fingers curled around the edge of the table, my knuckles white as Colson pounded into me. Part of me was afraid that we would start shaking the table and making enough noise to be caught, but the other part just didn’t care in that moment. I was more focused on how good Colson was making me feel.
I moaned into his hand, which was still placed over my mouth, as he wrapped his free arm around my waist and pressed my body against his. He was basically grinding himself into me at that point, the sensation of his body against mine driving me crazy. My eyes were rolling in the back of my head as I felt a familiar feeling growing in my stomach. Before I knew it, my cries of pleasure were being muffled by Colson’s hand as I hit my climax. The feeling of my walls contracting around his dick cause him to groan before he finished as well, wrapping both arms around me and holding me tightly to him.
We stayed pressed together, a panting mess, for some time. I held him tightly to me, reminding myself that he was mine and mine alone, and that he would never just leave me for someone like the interviewer.
We both started when a knock came at the door. “Hey, Kells. It’s time for your performance.”
“I’ll be out in a second!” Colson responded, slipping himself out of me. I had to hold back a whimper from the lack of contact. As he started pulling on his clothes, he smiled at me. “What was that about? I don’t think we’ve ever done it in a dressing room before.”
“Something to cross off our bucket list,” I responded with a shrug.
“Right, it has nothing to do with the interviewer basically feeling me up and trying to shove her tits in my face, right?”
My cheeks burned at his words, which was answer enough for Colson. He cupped my face in his hands and tilted my head back to look at him.
“Baby, I could care less if that interviewer was sat in front of me, completely naked, begging me to fuck her. I would never even look in her general direction, and you know that. You own my heart, and you’re the only one who does, or who ever will.”
I smiled at him and snuggled my head into his chest. “I know, but I still just didn’t like the way she was acting around you. She’s so desperate, I just want her to back off and put some clothes on to cover herself up.”
Colson chuckled and kissed the top of my head. “I know, babe. It’s almost over, after my performance we can go home.”
I smiled and kissed his cheek. “Let’s go get that over with so we can go home then.”
We exited his dressing room, only to come face to face with the interviewer. I tried to suppress an eye roll as Colson wrapped an arm around my shoulder and pulled me close to him, as if proving a point to her before she even said anything.
“You’re late,” she told him, her eyes glaring at me with disgust. “The producers were looking for you.”
“Sorry, I was busy fucking my beautiful girlfriend,” Colson responded, squeezing my shoulder.
The interviewer’s mouth dropped open as we walked past her. Over my shoulder, I flipped her off before continuing to walk with my amazing boyfriend, who was mine and only mine.

Nevertheless
You guys, I know I’ve said that I will only be analyzing movies. But I accidentally watched a 10 episode Netflix Korean series titled Nevertheless. Okay maybe not accidentally, but it’s definitely possible when the main characters’ looks are so ethereal. This series is based on a webtoon, but it’s rated 19+. With that being said, you guys have no choice but to read my fangirling babble because I will be talking about this series - how could I not after all? Good things are meant to be shared.
It’s an hour long for each episode but frankly speaking it’s not enough for me. Can someone make a petition to make a season 2 for Nevertheless? Who do I go to to make requests like that? Asking for myself. I researched about the possibility of season 2 but it is very unlikely to happen as the series moral standards are not aligned with Korea’s conservative society since this series displayed excessive sexual interactions and made a representation of queer relationship. And in order for a Netflix series to be continued, the streaming percentage in the home country has to be somewhat high as a means to generate profits, obviously.
If Nevertheless is already in your watch list I suggest you stop reading here because I will be giving major spoilers. It’s a story about two university classmates that are both majoring in art played by Han So-Hee as  Yu Na-bi and  Song Kang as Park Jae-Eon. Yu Na-Bi character is basically fed up with dating as her ex cheated on her before, and Park Jae-Eon's entire character is just a famous womanizer in their campus but no one hates him because he’s that handsome - so obviously his character isn’t the dating type as you can tell by now. Despite their opposing perspectives on love and relationships, they became friends which soon escalated to a friends-with-benefits situation because none of them could resist their temptations and chemistry with each other.
After a while, things got complicated with their “situationship” when Yu Na-Bi wanted to end their relationship mainly because she’s actually falling in love with Park Jae-eon. With the reputation Park Jae-Eon has around the campus as the biggest flirt and womanizer, Yu Na-Bi was caught in the rumors of being one of his “puppet”. There were literally hundreds of reasons for her to leave him in the earlier stages of the relationship, but she keeps going back to him as soon as he apologizes or does something nice. In a nutshell, their relationship is toxic - she literally saw him cheated on her in one of the episodes but she stayed because they weren’t exclusive or anything and she likes him that much. At this point it is safe to conclude that this girl isn’t very bright and you will get frustrated with her actions throughout the series.
Metaphorically speaking, this guy is the definition of a walking red flag but honestly I’d understand why she acted that way because this guy is extremely charming and this just came in, but I like the color red. How am I smiling as I am writing this? I am obviously biased because I love both the main characters here but can you blame me? Have you seen these people? Literally out of this world, so stunning.  I’d include a picture just so you guys understand what I meant. I am not romanticizing or enabling toxic relationships, I know he is a walking red flag and all but in my defense I like red!
Okay enough fangirling.
After countless rumors and advice from her friends, she finally came to her senses and ended the relationship. It was so sad guys, 2 out of 10 not recommended to watch that episode just skip it entirely. They could’ve fixed their issues without breaking up by communicating because from my point of view, their issues are just mainly because of misunderstandings – and Park Jae-Eon’s reputation does not help at all. But it’s alright because in a way they needed that break to find each other again. After the unofficial relationship breakup, they took a long break away from each other that made Park Jae-Eon realize that he is in love with Yu Na-Bi after all.
Anyhow, the series ended on a happy note where they both got together; exclusively in a relationship. And I do not see that one coming because this series is so unpredictable you will get a rollercoaster of emotions since you don’t know what to expect. Please do watch this series if you guys haven't it’s only 10 episodes and it’s worth your time I promise.

Miya Atsumu has had the reputation of being Japan’s best high school setter, as well as its best server. His accomplishments and background made him qualified to be the starting setter for the University Volleyball Team as they have witnessed his plays during National matches which led to the coaches having big expectations of him with his skills and Atsumu never disappoints — not until today’s practice.
Miya Atsumu was off in his game.
With a shake of the head from the head coach, this led the assistant coach to declare a water break.
“Atsumu, don’t let the fans distract you in your play, okay?” the head coach says, gesturing to the small group of girls in the stands. Atsumu let out a sigh as he glances up to hear them squealing --- a bit tired of the thought that they just won’t leave him alone. He appreciates the support, it even gives him confidence but right now, their support was more of a nuisance to him but his fangirls weren’t responsible for his loss of focus.
“Yes coach.”
Atsumu grumbles as he grabbed his water bottle from the bench, aggressively drinking the cool liquid, hoping to lessen his frustrations on his performance today. Atsumu has always been a perfectionist when it comes to volleyball because he knows that he is skilled and of course, he wants to keep on improving to the sport he dedicated his life into. Not being able to perform well in practice makes him irritated as ever.
“Oya? Slacking off now, are we?” snickers Suna as he wipes his sweat, stopping beside Atsumu who had his eyebrows furrowed, glaring at the wall.
“I am not slacking!”
“Wanna know what your spikers think? We are not satisfied.”
“I’ll give ya a perfect set after this.” Atsumu clicked his tongue and looked away from Suna, wiping off his sweat aggressively. Suna rolled his eyes and slapped Atsumu’s back, making the setter cower from the impact and glares at Suna as he soothes the impacted area.
“Why do ya and Aran always hit me?!”
“Because you’re being an idiot!”
“How am I being an idiot?!”
“I can’t believe you didn’t ask Osamu for help on this one.”
“He might spill the beans on (Y/N)! I want to tell her myself!”
“Then what are you waiting for? You’ve been ignoring her for awhile now. Talk to (Y/N), Atsumu. If you continue being like this, then you are no different from her ex boyfriend. A total douchebag. Ignoring her isn’t gonna solve things.”
Atsumu clenches on his water bottle as he heard your name. His heart aches for abandoning you like that --- not talking things out. He believes you had no idea that you two kissed because he knows your memory is poor when you’re drunk. He had been planning to talk to you for quite some time but he wasn’t ready. He wasn’t ready of the feeling in being rejected but this is something he needs to face.
With a whistle from the assistant coach, Atsumu, Suna and the rest of the players resumed the practice for the upcoming tournament.
Tumblr media
It was late in the evening. You just finished your last class for the day. With a content sigh, you gripped onto the strap of your bag before walking the empty University grounds where lights were all lit up, illuminating the University buildings with the moon and stars shining and twinkling. The cool and fresh breeze made it even more of a peaceful walk back to your apartment.
Finally arriving the main streets of Hyogo, you were greeted by bright lights of buildings and people crossing the streets, some going shopping. The part of Hyogo to where you were current at was the busiest part --- the shopping center. Tall buildings were all lit up and multiple cars were causing traffic. It was just the typical night scenery every time you go home from university.
As you pass by restaurants, your stomach started to grumble, in need of food.
What were you gonna eat for dinner?
As you stopped in your tracks and pondered for a moment, thinking if you should dine in or just order food for take out, a familiar car suddenly parked to where you were at the sidewalk. The window rolls down and a head from inside peers at you with a big smile on their face.
“M-mom? What are you doing here?”
“I haven’t seen you in awhile and that’s how you’re gonna greet me, sweetie?”
“Sorry. I’m just surprised.”
“Have you had dinner?”
With another growl from your stomach that was loud enough for your mom to hear from the car, she laughs and points her finger to the door.
“Well you’re in luck, sweetie. I cooked your favorite foods today. Hop in. I’ll let you eat back at your apartment so that I’ll also be able to see how much of a mess you’ve made.”
“Hey! I am not messy!”
“Keep telling yourself that, sweetie.”
Excitement fills in your system of the thought you’re gonna have a home cooked meal — the kind of meal that just has the different kind of satisfaction compared to restaurants. You love your mother’s cooking. Not only is it delicious, but it also comforts your soul. A mother’s love is definitely put on the plate.
As you sat down on the front seat and buckling your seat belt, your mom drove the two of you to your apartment building. On the way, the two of you did a lot of catching up like how were your studies and did you make any friends to which you answered a bit enthusiastically because you did with Kaori. Even though your mom knows about Kaori, you told her that you and Kaori are much closer this year. You really love moments like this with your mom considering how busy she is with her work. Too bad your father went on a business trip but the three of you seem closer than ever because growing up, your parents always try to accompany you when you were still a kid. When you got into university, your parents had already planned for you to start being independent to prepare you for your future.
Sharing some laughs here and there, your eyes were finally fixated on the road. As you just stared at the scenery, you can’t help but feel a bit jealous at couples who were walking beside each other on the sidewalk, all love and smiles in the air. You can’t help but frown a little. You regretted dating Nakamura. All he did was just adding to your emotional trauma.
You can’t help but wonder if there is someone out there who really is meant for you.
With the car coming to a stop, you looked around and it was not the parking area of your apartment building. You were still in the main streets. Confused, you looked at your mom who was looking intently at the sidewalk ahead.
“What are you looking at, mom?”
“Which one was it of the twins dearie? The one looking like a bee?”
“What?”
Looking at the sidewalk, your eyes widened at the familiar figure who was just innocently walking down the street, unaware of his surroundings as he just minded his own business. Your heart started to beat faster in your chest as the figure starts to near the car, still looking straight ahead. His varsity jacket hugged his figure as he kept his hands inside the pockets to keep him warm from the cold autumn breeze, with his gym bag slung over his shoulder. You observed that he had a serious expression on his face — somewhat troubled as he grumbles to what was in his head.
Before you could even reply, your mom honked the car to only startle the setter, him jumping a bit from the sudden sound, making you hold your laugh as you saw the expression on his face. It was priceless.
“Mom, what are you doing?!”
As the window of the car from your side started to roll down, you started to panic. You didn’t want to be seen right now. You definitely wanted to avoid Atsumu. The odds were against you at the moment as Atsumu finally calmed down and looks at the car with a confused expression but decides to just continue walking but then your mom called his name, miraculously identifying the right twin.
“Atsumu-kun!”
Your mom says with a big smile as she waves at your long time friend. Your mom has been friends with the Miyas for a long time --- as the mother of the twins and your mom were pretty much besties. Of all the times you and your families get together, your mother still gets confused on who was who even if their hair colors were dyed purposely for people to tell them apart.
You wanted to get out of there. Starting to unbuckle your seat belt and just hide at the back, it was too late when Atsumu peers at the window. A bright smile made its way on his face when he saw your mother, feeling a bit of comfort of seeing a familiar person in a street full of strangers.
“Is that you, Mrs. (L/N)?”
“Yes it is, sweetie. Did you just finish practice?”
“I did. What brings you here, Mrs (L/N)?”
“I happen to cross (Y/N) here on her way back to her apartment. I actually cooked a lot of food tonight. Do you want to have dinner with us? (Y/N) told me that you like my cooking.”
Atsumu gazes at you a bit. He smiles a little when he saw how you were trying to avoid eye contact with him as you kept your head down and kept fumbling with your fingers — a habit you have when you’re nervous that Atsumu has caught on. He finds it pretty cute. Realizing the possibility to where this was going, he’s gonna use this as an opportunity to finally talk to you as the words from Suna kept ringing in his head.
You turned to your mom as you were avoiding Atsumu’s gaze on you — your face tomato red from the sudden situation you are in — not to mention how the familiar scent of fresh lemons that Atsumu gives off makes you addicted to it. You gave your mom a look that just screams ‘stop embarrassing me!’ .
“Oh did she now? I’m happy to join you, Mrs. (L/N)”
“Splendid! Hop in.”
On the car ride back to your apartment, you can’t help but drown in Atsumu’s scent, oh how you missed it too much. You feel your cheeks heat up, knowing Atsumu was at the back seat as he converses with your mom who exchanged some talks and laughs.
While they enjoyed their time, you can’t help your mind drifting to the night when you and Atsumu were being intimate. The way his lips move against yours. The way he caresses your cheek in circles and how you ended up on his lap. Was he gonna tell you about it? The sudden memory of you running and puking in the bathroom made you groan a little loud, making your mom and Atsumu divert their attention to you.
“You okay sweetie?”
You look at your mom with wide eyes, not intending to catch their attention with your memory. You blush bright red as you felt Atsumu’s gaze on you.
“Why wouldn’t I be? Eyes on the road mom!”
It was gonna be a long night for you.

Old School X is a project interviewing X-Files fanfic authors who were posting fic during the original run of the show. New interviews are posted every Tuesday.
Interview with Rae
Rae has 16 stories at Gossamer. If you like MSR, you should go check them out, including (but not limited to) the fun-titled, banter-filled The Cat, an Espresso and a Bag of Sunflower Seeds. Big thanks to Rae for doing this interview.
Does it surprise you that people are still interested in reading your X-Files fanfics and others that were posted during the original run of the show (1993-2002)?
It surprises me that anyone reads my fanfic at all, let alone they are reading it 20 years after I wrote it!
But in the same vein, I am still actively reading xfiles fanfic and I tend to read the older fics, or new fics by authors I recognize or remember from back in the day. I cannot explain this lack of rationale. 🤷
What do you think of when you think about your X-Files fandom experience? What did you take away from it?
I had a great experience with the X-Files fandom! I made some fantastic friends - many even attended my wedding! I didn't really get involved in the dramas that went on. I was aware of it, but really, I just wanted to discuss my show with people that loved it like I did and read the fic, so I ignored all the other static.
Social media didn't really exist during the show's original run. How were you most involved with the X-Files online (atxc, message board, email mailing list, etc.)?
Mainly message boards. AOL chat rooms, Yahoo groups, etc. We would all sign on after the episode aired and chat about it. Deconstruct it. And then we started traveling to meet each other and the real fun began!
What did you take away from your experience with X-Files fic or with the fandom in general?
It was definitely a growing experience. It forced me to step outside my comfort zone a little bit. Traveling to NYC, LA and Chicago to meet people just to fangirl with. Meeting Gillian and getting a picture with her - it was wild.
Different shared experiences that "real life" family and friends just didn't understand. It was fun and exciting.
What was it that got you hooked on the X-Files as a show?
So I came to the show late in the game. I was sick, lying in bed channel surfing and caught the last 5 minutes of Fight the Future and immediately wanted to know why this woman was sitting in the snow holding onto this man. I spent the summer recording episodes on FX during the week and watching them all weekend and was somehow able to pretty much catch up on the first 6 seasons in time for the 7th season premiere.
What got you involved with X-Files fanfic?
In my quest to know all the things that summer before the 7th season, I discovered AOL chat rooms that led me to different discussions on the show in general and at one point, a link was posted to whatever fanfic was hot that minute and I was instantly hooked.
What is your relationship like now to X-Files fandom?
I often feel like a wallflower at a party. I'm on the fringe, looking in to see what's going on. I don't bother anyone and most people don't even know I'm there. Every now and then I'll send feedback on a story, or I might even participate in a random discussion, but I feel it's a little more difficult these days without the chatrooms and discussion boards. Following people on tumblr or twitter and trying to engage in those platforms is more awkward since it feels so much more personal. It's like I'm intruding on someone's personal space.  Or having to scroll through non-fandom stuff to find the fic. The message boards were a more even playing field I guess? It's hard to explain.
When I'm hardcore searching for something...anything to read, I'll refer to "The Classics" list. There are still many on there I haven't read.
I miss ephemeral.
Were you involved with any fandoms after the X-Files? If so, what was it like compared to X-Files?
No. No other characters have ever interested me beyond the story we're given within the confines of the show/movie/book like Mulder and Scully did. My friends would dive into Harry Potter or Marvel or (fill in the blank with anything) and I would try to get excited, but there's nothing.
Who are some of your favorite fictional characters? Why?
Well, Scully because she's so bad-ass. She's always so certain of her convictions. We don't see her second-guess herself often.
Anne of Green Gables because against all odds, she still sees the beauty in everything.
Jo in Little Women because she is just so tenacious. She knows what she wants.
Hermione in Harry Potter. She knows the most important thing she'll do is help Harry and there is value in that, so she gives it all she's got.
Do you ever still watch The X-Files or think about Mulder and Scully?
I do. A couple of years after the original run was over, I lost a dear friend (met because of XF) and then later I had my first baby and life just got busy in a very different way so I fell out of the fandom and just dropped all of it.
And then there was the revival. I waited until all episodes aired and then binge-watched them. And I did the same with season 11, but waited about 6 mos after it aired to watch it, rewatching the whole series from the beginning, first.
But now I turn it on a few times a week while I'm folding laundry or making dinner or some other chore. It's nice to have it on in the background because I don't have to pay close attention because I know what's going to happen. I've actually watched the whole series a few times this way.
Do you ever still read X-Files fic? Fic in another fandom?
I still read XF fic. It's still my favorite thing to read. I am always looking for the next great fic to lose myself in. Back in the day, I would read any pairing, any genre...I was game for anything, as long as it was XF fic. I'm a little more choosy, now, but only because my free-time is more limited. I only want to read MSR and I'm not at all interested in revival fics.
Do you have any favorite X-Files fanfic stories or authors?
I am partial to the novel-length AU and canon-divergent stories.  I love everything by Prufrock's Love and Bonetree. I have read Paracelsus, A Moment in the Sun and the Goshen/Secret World series countless times. Journal 1999 and Journal 2000 by MD1016, The Mastodon Diaries by akaJake, Blinded by White Light by Dashak, Deliverance From Evil by Char Chaffin and Tess.
I could go on all day.
My absolute favorite story is Arizona Highways by Fialka.
I am partial to Scully angst. And the Emily storyline just kills me, so when authors take those elements and write a kick-ass story, I am there for it.
What is your favorite of your own fics, X-Files and/or otherwise?
How awful is it that I had to look up my fics to answer this question? I don't know that I have a favorite. That's like asking a mother which child she favors. Maybe One of the Damned.
Do you think you'll ever write another X-Files story? Or dust off and post an oldie that for whatever reason never made it online?
I won't say never, but I don't think so. I've tried to start one or two with some ideas I've had, but I haven't gotten far with them.
Do you still write fic now? Or other creative work?
No. I don't even have time to read as often as I would like to.
Where do you get ideas for stories?
Usually what if scenarios - I try to work out different ways the story could go in my head. I would usually have the guts of the story written in my head before I typed the first word.
What's the story behind your pen name?
There was already a well-known Rachel posting fic when I got started, so I just decided to go with a nickname - Rae.
Do your friends and family know about your fic and, if so, what have been their reactions?
My husband is crazy supportive and tries to convince me to write again All. The. Time. I never hid my XF obsession from anyone, but I don't think I told many people about my writing.
Is there a place online (tumblr, twitter, AO3, etc.) where people can find you and/or your stories now?
I am on tumblr and twitter, but like I said above, I don't really post. All of my stories are at Gossamer.

The Ballad Of Y/N (Jaskier x Reader)
Characters: Geralt of Rivia, Jaskier
Fandom: The Witcher
Categories: Reader Insert, Female!Reader, Flirting
Warnings: Slight violence, injury and blood
Word Count: 5k words
Summary: The mountains in the distance are enticing and mysterious, but it isn’t until a bard and a witcher arrive to town that Y/N dares to venture to that uncharted and dangerous land.
Notes: I was fangirling about how much I enjoyed Netflix’s Witcher and I came up with this little imagine. I didn’t want to make it too romantically heavy but there are a few special interactions here and there. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it and that I made the characters justice, I haven’t written much for this fandom so far!

I WROTE A SERIES BASED ON THIS, CALLED SOUL OF A WARRIOR, CHECK IT OUT! ;)
I walked out of the house when I heard gasps and commotion right outside my window. The townspeople were startled by the sudden appearance of foreigners that stood out amongst the common folk. One was a burly man with white long hair that carried two swords on his back. The other one was a smaller man with brown hair. Unlike the first, the second one wore bright clothes that nearly made it seem like they weren’t travelling together, were it not by the fact that the latter was talking to him.
My horse at the front of the house neighed and moved around, restless by their presence. It was then when I realized the first man with the white hair had yellowish eyes that shook me to the very core.
Absently comforting the horse, I caressed his head as I stared at the two mysterious figures. I was startled when the man suddenly turned to me, like he was feeling my eyes on him.
I had the sudden realization that I knew his kind, despite not having encountered one before. The swords, eyes and hair were enough to confirm it. Not to mention that mysterious, supernatural and slightly dark aura that surrounded him.
The other one carried a lute on his back, which made you chuckle at the great contrast between the rather unlikely pair. He turned at the sound of my laughter and grinned as he watched me.
My heart sped up in anticipation, but I took this opportunity seeing where they were headed.
“Excuse me” I spoke up, regaining the attention of the witcher as he had looked away from me. I cleared my throat when my voice quivered and continued. “I-“
“You are excused, my lady” The bard gallantly bowed to me, offering his hand. “I’m Jaskier, it is a pleasure to meet you”
Hesitantly, I rested my hand over his and observed him wide-eyed when he kissed it.
“I’m Y/N” I muttered, politely smiling to him before turning back to the witcher. “Do you happen to travel to the mountains?”
“Yes” Was all reply I got from him.
I patted my horse’s neck and walked closer to the witcher, only acknowledging Jaskier with a side glance as I passed him by.
“I’d like to go with you, uh…” I trailed off, hoping to hear his name. He just stared blankly at me, calm and unbothered.
“Geralt” The bard said for him. “His name is Geralt, and we’d love you to come with-“
“No” The witcher named Geralt bluntly cut him off. “I want no responsibility with you, it’s enough that I let the bard come with me”
“Oi” Jaskier chimed in, clearly offended. “If I didn’t go with you, there would be no one there to write epic ballads about your deeds”
“And what a shame that would be” Geralt sarcastically said, making me laugh. I caught a hint of a smile in the corner of his lips at my reaction.
I cleared my throat, hoping to convince him. His neutral expression returned so quickly that I wondered if I had imagined him smiling.
“I insist on going, I will pay you to escort me there”
I lifted my chin up with dignity when I realized his expression was stoic after my request. The witcher pursed his lips and shook his head.
“I’m not a bodyguard”
“Fine, then a guide”
“The answer is no”
I looked at Jaskier, still standing there looking at me. Smirking at the way he stared, I tilted my head and crossed my arms over my chest.
“Then I will go with the bard” I had to suppress a wider grin when I noticed Jaskier jolting up in surprise to my statement. “It so happens that he and you share a path”
Geralt only grunted, averting his gaze to focus on Jaskier. The aforesaid beamed and earned a resigned sigh from the witcher.
“Do you have a weapon?”
“I do, a dagger”
“Bring it, we leave at first light”
I smiled and nodded, feeling a mixture of excitement and fear. I had been wanting to go to the mountains for a long time, and I finally got to. To unveil the mystery that they presented.
-
None of us uttered a word as we made our ascent to the mountain. That, of course, with the exception of the bard. Geralt and I remained silent, but Jaskier had too many thoughts that apparently were too urgent to keep hidden. I smiled in spite of myself, amused and oddly endeared by his energetic and talkative self.
“Say, lady Y/N” Jaskier suddenly looked up to me. “May we share your horse?”
I held the reins tighter and eyed him warily from my higher perspective on horseback.
“Can you not ride with Geralt? I thought you were friends”
“He won’t let me”
“Don’t touch Roach”
“He even named his horse, I fear he cares more about it than about me”
“Without a doubt”
I laughed at Geralt’s reply, and he exchanged a quick glance with me. A thought suddenly came to me that witchers weren’t as terrible as people said they were. At least certainly not Geralt, I quite got a liking to him already.
“Please” Jaskier insisted, tugging at my sleeve. “May your heart be kinder than his”
I rolled my eyes at his dramatic antics and sighed. In the end, however, I held my hand in the air. The bard smiled and clung on to it without thinking, using it as an anchor to climb on my horse. Geralt had to quickly hold me by the arm to avoid my falling when Jaskier pulled too harshly.
Once I was stable again on my saddle, I glanced at him over my shoulder. He dedicated me an innocent yet handsome smile. I had to grin back, even if in resigned amusement.
“Why were you so adamant on coming to the mountain?” Geralt asked me, diverting my attention from the bard.
“Why are you? Is there some sort of monster for you to hunt?”
“I asked first”
The both of us seized each other up, but neither of us spoke. The only moment the witcher looked away from me was to send Jaskier a warning glance to remain silent.
“It’s not your business, witcher”
“Not yours either, Y/N”
“Can’t we all just get along?”
I smirked at Jaskier’s attempt to come to an agreement. I budged, knowing Geralt wouldn’t. In any case, telling him the truth shouldn’t have any negative consequences.
“I was always curious about what lurked in the mountains, all those tales and stories…” I paused, having to make an effort not to let my imagination run wild. “But I never was… I… Well, I never had a guide, until now”
Geralt watched me carefully for several seconds, apparently seeing through me and into my very soul. In the end, however, he calmly spoke back.
“We’re looking for something, yes”
“What is it?”
“A dragon” I pulled on the reins to stop the horse with his words. A heavy feeling of emptiness settled on my stomach. Was that what awaited us up there?
“Pardon me? I’m sorry… Did you just say ‘a dragon’?”
“Is there a problem?”
“Don’t worry, my lady, nothing will happen to us with Geralt by our side”
I turned to Jaskier behind me and scowled at him. He arched his eyebrows in surprise.
“Don’t call me that, I told you my name” I complained, staring at him for a moment.
His piercing blue eyes watched me carefully. He lifted his hands from where he held on to the saddle for balance, showing me his palms in a sign of apology and surrender.
My mind returned to the task at hand when I heard a soft but certain chuckle coming from Geralt. When I looked at him, I urged my horse seeing as he was ahead of us already.
“There is nothing to fear, Y/N” The bard gently patted my shoulder, his tone cheery and carefree. “Worry not, for the great witcher Geralt of Rivia will protect us”
“I’m not afraid” I merely replied, clutching the dagger in my belt.
However, the empty feeling in my stomach seemed to deepen, spreading to my throat there were a firm lump had formed.
-
We reached the open entrance of a big cave. The ground beneath us was dry and earthy.
When Geralt stopped and climbed down his horse Roach, I halted as well. Before I could do anything, Jaskier had jumped down and offered me a hand and a charming smile from below.
Giving in to his charm, I accepted his help. He held me by the waist and carefully lowered me into the ground in front of him. I dedicated him a soft smile as a silent thank you and turned to Geralt. The witcher had his sword out and walked towards the cave with determination.
I patted Jaskier on the shoulder and hurried by Geralt’s side, spreading dust under my feet as I dashed.
“Are you going to slay the dragon?” I cautiously asked him, tapping his arm. “Won’t that anger it?”
Geralt stopped to look at me, calm and unfazed as usual. He just watched me, not uttering any words. His expression didn’t change either, making it impossible for me to guess what he was thinking as we locked eyes. I frowned in anguish, but he didn’t budge.
“Besides” I insisted, breaking the tense silence. “Has it hurt people? As far as I know, no one in the city has any complaints about it. I-I hardly even knew there was a dragon!”
The witcher grinned in an enigmatic way and carried on. With every step he took towards the entrance, my heartbeat increased a tad.
I glared at Jaskier when his hand held on to mine. He opened his mouth to speak, and I could tell he was about to say something that included the words ‘my lady’, because he quickly corrected himself before he even talked.
“I’m only trying to comfort you, Y/N” He drew his hand back under my stare.
“I don’t need comforting” I took my dagger, noticing my fingers hurt from how tightly I had been holding on to the handle, and followed after Geralt.
“Great, alright, apologies” Jaskier muttered behind me, reluctantly walking after me. “You stubborn beautiful woman”
I glanced over my shoulder to him, seemingly startling him because I had heard him. When I smirked at him, he frowned and watched me in curiosity.
“Watch out!” Geralt suddenly yelled, putting an end to our flirting.
I clutched the small dagger in my palm, looking ahead. A loud and high-pitched screech made me grit my teeth and run inside the cave. My heart was racing. It seemed about to break through my ribcage and jump out of my chest.
As I reached the witcher, who was already inside, I was taken aback by the sight I was welcomed with. The metallic sound of blades against one another was barely audible when that ear-piercing screech echoed around the spacious walls of the cave. The majestic dragon stood there, flapping its wings and complaining at the intrusion. For a moment I was unable to look away from it, fascinated by the way its green scales reflected the sunlight from outside. I was brought to reality, however, when I heard the witcher groaning and looked back to the group of seven men.
“Who are those?!” I exclaimed, unable to look away from the men Geralt fought with.
“Treasure hunters” Jaskier suddenly got serious, tugging at my arm.
I didn’t move, wrapped up in my indecision and shock. My companions hadn’t come to slay the dragon, they were there to protect it. To save it from those who wanted to kill it for their own purposes.
I saw Geralt holding his hand up, and a powerful wave wiped the enemies away from him. That showcase of magic and strength seemed to bring me out of my stupor.
“Where are you going?” The bard tightly held on to me when I made to move.
“To help Geralt!” I looked at Jaskier, even if my voice trembled and my fingers shook around the dagger.
“He will be alright, he-“
“No, he’s outnumbered! I won’t stand by, even if he’s capable to holding his own!”
“Don’t be stubborn, Y/N… Y/N!”
Jaskier called me when I ran over to Geralt and kicked a man that had approached him, taking advantage that the witcher’s back was to him. Seeing this, Geralt frowned at me but didn’t say anything. He pointed a finger to the ground, there were one of his swords had fallen.
I lunged forward to grab the sword, still tightly holding on to my dagger with the other hand. I assisted Geralt how I could, kicking and slashing and parrying.
When I heard Jaskier swearing under his breath next to me, I briefly turned to him. He was punching one of the men, who happened to be about to throw himself at me. I watched my companion as he held his hand to his chest in pain. Then, his eyes widened and he made to say something as he pointed somewhere behind me.
I quickly turned around, just then seeing one of those men coming to me. However, I wasn’t fast enough to retaliate. His sword sliced my side, making me wince at the sudden intense pain. I growled as I casted the sword upon him, but he blocked it. Geralt was there quickly, taking care of him for me.
“Oh, no” Jaskier held me by the arm, gently tugging at it so I would turn around to face him. “You’re injured… You got hurt, didn’t you?”
I gawked at him, too unfamiliar with the sensations overwhelming me. My hand automatically flew to my side, there were a crimson liquid stained my fingers. I got light-headed at the sight of blood, my own blood, and dropped my weapons. Jaskier had to hold me tighter when I staggered forward dangerously.
“G-Geralt!” He called out, just as the sound of the battle ended. “Help!!”
I heard the witcher’s footsteps growing closer. In the meantime, Jaskier panicked and his hands moved up to my shoulders, back down to my arms and to my shoulders again in restlessness. A ring in my ears was overpowering the sound of his urgent voice.
“Calm down, Jaskier” Geralt tore me away from the bard and lied me down on the ground.
When his yellow eyes fell upon me, I mentally chastised myself. I had to stay calm, the wound probably wasn’t that deep. I would be alright, and they would help me.
“My satchel” The witcher told his friend. “Jaskier, quickly!”
“Right, right!” The aforesaid hurried off.
Geralt carefully lifted my shirt to look at the bloody wound. The pain spreading to my side made me think that was the source, but the gash started in my stomach. I held on to Geralt’s black shirt when I saw the damage, trying to even my breathing. It felt like my life was being drained from the spot where the sword pierced my skin. A great mixture of feelings came over me, bringing uncertain tears to my eyes.
“It’s the first time I’m injured, it was my first real fight, I…” I whispered to him, gulping when a coldness clawed at my heart. “I was… I’m scared”
Geralt’s furrowed brows softened slightly at my words. He parted his lips, but before he could say anything Jaskier had arrived and anxiously handed him the satchel. Not a second after, the bard was kneeling next to me like his friend was.
Jaskier’s hands held my arm, and I clutched on to them. The sight of his worried eyes on me mildly comforted me as I saw Geralt with the corner of my eye. He was holding a small bottle filled with a dark liquid and poured the contents on my open wound.
I screamed out in agony, hoping that at least that burn meant that I was starting to heal. I held on to Jaskier as I started to feel my strengths fail me.
“What did you do?!” He complained to Geralt, throwing him a confused glance.
“That will stop the bleeding” The other only said, rummaging through his satchel until he picked up some bandages.
I breathed out, suddenly exhausted. My eyes closed, and I felt two soft hands on my face.
“Y/N? Stay awake!” Jaskier’s voice urged me, but I was already far away.
-
A gentle music brought me out of my slumber. A vaguely familiar voice quietly sung along with it, bringing me calmness as my senses slowly returned, and along with it, the pain.
My side felt like it was on fire, starting in my stomach and spreading the burning sensation across my side. I feebly moved my hand to that spot, feeling a small protuberance under my clothes there where bandages had been wrapped around my wound.
Despite feeling like I had been unconscious for a long time, I didn’t feel rested. My limbs were heavy and so were my eyelids. Slightly disoriented when I heard the distant sound of running water, I frowned. Weren’t we on the mountain last? With the dragon and the treasure hunters and…
I opened my eyes and quickly sat up, sharply breathing in when everything returned to me. The brief battle, Geralt and Jaskier. My injury. All that anguish came back to me, leaving me breathless.
“Y/N!” Jaskier called out, dropping his lute and running to my side. “It’s alright, breathe”
I tried to do what he said, and my laborious breathing slowed a bit after several seconds. My heart was violently thumping against my chest, but I found it slightly harder to put a remedy to that.
With the bard’s help, I carefully lied back down on the improvised bed they had prepared for me with the softest patch of ground they could find and a rolled up blanket under my head. I glanced around me, noticing we were in a forest, the threat of the night put at rest by the warmth of a fire. I spotted Geralt standing next to it.
Grimacing at the mere thought of blood, I carefully lifted my shirt to see my bandages. Luckily, they were clean and spotless. I heaved a sigh of relief.
“How are you?” The bard insisted, patting my shoulder. “Are you okay?”
“Were you worried about me, Jaskier?” I showed him a weak smile. “We only just met”
He gawked at me, astonished by my response. Bet he wasn’t expecting me to say something as such while being sick and helpless. He looked away, flustered by my implications.
“A speechless bard” I paused for a moment, still tired. “A rare sight”
“Don’t mock him” Geralt’s voice came, putting an end to Jaskier’s incoherent mumbling. “He might cry”
I laughed, but grunted as I pushed myself to my feet. The bard immediately stretched his arms out in alarm, but didn’t actually touch me. I took a brief moment to compose myself, recovering from a sudden dizzy spell, and nodded to him. Then I dragged myself away from them and closer to the gentle stream with its lovely music that had awoken me along with Jaskier’s singing.
He stayed behind with Geralt, arguing about the witcher’s comment.
“I have the sensitive soul of a poet” Was his excuse, followed by a proud hum.
“And she has the soul of a warrior” Whether Geralt didn’t think I could hear him or didn’t care, I wasn’t sure. “Believe me, Jaskier, I know”
I walked away from them until their voices became a distant and unintelligible murmur. My heart was restless after the latest events, but the course of the stream brought me tranquility. I closed my eyes and enjoyed the quiet moment.
A sharp scent suddenly brought me out of my calmness. Opening my eyes, I looked out in the distance in fear. Watching the town in the horizon, small from my perspective, I confirmed that the smell that the air carried was something burning. Smoke and ashes.
The blackness of the sky was illuminated by an incandescent orange light of flames.
I gasped and quickly turned around, so harshly that I made my side sore. Even more so than before. I absently held my hand over it as I spoke to them.
“What’s that?” I anxiously asked them, gathering their attention away from their mundane squabble. That caused the atmosphere to change completely, from relaxed to serious.
“Oh, that, uh…” Jaskier approached me, throwing glances to Geralt as the witcher lingered on his brooding silence. “Well, you see…”
“What… happened?” Their avoidance was only testament of a tragedy.
“The dragon” Geralt stated in the background, plain and bold.
“The… dragon?” I repeated in bewilderment.
“When… When the treasure hunters erupted in the cave, it fled” Jaskier spoke lowly, so much so that I could barely hear him. There was wariness in his voice that frightened me. “And flew over the town… Your town…”
My eyes filled with tears, so I avoided looking at him directly. It was then when I realized that we were alone except for Roach’s company.
“Where’s my horse?” I choked out, trying not to blink so I wouldn’t shed the betraying tears.
“Your horse…” The bard repeated, playing with the ring in his hand. “Of course, your horse, well it…”
“Ran away” Geralt completed the sentence, not making eye contact with me even from his far away position.
That was it, the last bond that tied me to my home town, gone. I had dared to venture into the unknown, explore the mysterious caves in the mountains like I had always wanted to. But it came with a price, as I was left isolated from my past. I had nothing else, no one else other than Geralt and Jaskier now. I had been brave once, and I would have to be again in order to move on. As with visiting the mountains, easier said than done.
Rid from my remaining energies, I plopped down on the ground and screamed to let all my anguish out. I tore my throat, which ached with the aftermath. That still didn’t make all the sorrow subside.
My reflection on the water only seemed to make everything worse. I presented an awful appearance. Pale, disheveled and weak.
Too caught up in my reflection, I jolted up when an arm fell over my shoulders. When I looked, I could nearly read the empathy in Jaskier’s eyes when they locked with mine.
“I’m sorry, Y/N… That is awful, that it happened” His voice was dripping with sadness, and despite his attempts, it didn’t make me feel any better.
“I want to be alone” I quietly told him, shrugging his arm off.
“No, I shouldn’t leave you alone in-“
“Go away!”
Jaskier paused at my outburst and sighed. Nodding in silence, he walked away and left me to my lonesome. To dwell on my disgrace in peace.
-
Their presence close to me brought me a comfort that I didn’t know I could achieve. The silence was overwhelming, and I suddenly missed the sound of the lute’s music. I couldn’t speak up even if I wanted to, since my voice felt too meek, raspy and hoarse. In any case, it had been too long to interrupt the quietness now. In all honesty, I wasn’t even sure how long it had passed, although it felt like hours.
I didn’t react when a figure walked closer to me. Giving it a side glance, I could distinguish Geralt’s burly frame dressed in all black, confusing in the darkness of the night. He didn’t say anything at first as he crouched down by my side.
“Better?” He solely told me, abruptly interrupting the soft noises of the forest in quietness.
“Yes” I dried my wet cheeks and rubbed my eyes, sore with all those spilled tears. “Sorry about that”
“You shouldn’t be ashamed of crying” Geralt’s words surprised me, so I faced him.
We paused for a moment. I could tell he knew what I was thinking, that it was quite ironic to be given lessons about emotions from a witcher. But it wasn’t ironic at all.
“I’m not ashamed of crying” I had to suppress the instinct to look back at the desolate town to avoid looking at all that foreign suffering that resonated with my own. “I’m ashamed of crumbling down”
“There’s no shame in that either” The witcher stood up and offered me his hand. “As long as you pick yourself back up”
I took a deep breath and nodded, taking his hand and letting him pull me to my feet. We lingered there, looking back to Jaskier sitting by the fire. He absently-minded strung the chords on his lute, not playing any tune.
“Is he mad at me?”
“He’ll get over it”
I smiled, even if Geralt couldn’t see it since he was returning. The bard lifted his head when he heard me following after him. His eyes were fixed on me as I neared the fire. Mine fell over his hand, there where a violent purple now colored his knuckles.
“I’m not trying to inflate your ego, bard” I said as I occupied the spot in front of him. “But I’m missing your beautiful music”
A slow smile arrived to Jaskier’s lips. It was hard to tell because of the dim light, only the fire next to him illuminating his features. Nonetheless, I could almost sense it.
“And what song would you like to hear?” He prepared, adjusting the instrument over his lap.
Just then, Geralt sat with us, clearly annoyed at our interactions. I briefly set my eyes on him, but he didn’t reciprocate. Hence, I focused back on the bard.
“I quite liked the one you were playing before” I recalled the soft tune and the calmness it brought to me.
“Your wish is my command, my lady” Jaskier paused, putting his fingers to the lute.
“Don’t tempt fate” I cocked an eyebrow, and he smirked in response.
As he began playing and singing, I looked up to the sky. The stars were shining bright, promising a better future. As I waited for the moment the dawn came, I lied down and indulged in the sound of the music. That along with the warmth of the fire and the comfort of their presence lulled me to sleep.
-
Morning was crueler than I thought, starting with the nightmares. The remainders of what I had lost while I was away. Of everything I had left behind.
Jaskier and Geralt were arguing as we packed our things and extinguished the fire. I didn’t mind them, not being bothered to intervene even if the conversation concerned me.
“Will you refuse to help her? She lost her horse, she can’t walk!”´
“I didn’t say that, Jaskier, but… Y/N, where are you going?”
I didn’t pay too much mind to them, only walking to leave that place behind. The forest led to the path we had followed to go through it. I didn’t hesitate to follow it.
“Wait, hold on!” Jaskier easily caught up with me. It seemed like I was slower than I was willing to admit. “We haven’t solved the matter of-“
“I can walk” I barely glanced at him, feeling stupidly stubborn and determined.
“No, you can’t! Y-You are sick and weak! Let us carry you or… or…” He interrupted himself when he heard Geralt and Roach behind us. “Y/N, please, we can…”
“I’m alright, I can walk” I insisted, even if making an effort to even drag my feet.
“No use, there’s no use!” Jaskier continued walking with me, but threw his arms up in exasperation. “So obstinate!”
“She’s wounded, not sick” Geralt told him, again speaking up even if I was in ear shot. “Nor is she weak”
“I didn’t mean weak like that!” Jaskier retaliated, still as exasperated.
I shook my head and continued walking, not wanting to put up with their bickering again. I was far too tired for that. It was enough effort to stay on my feet and continue putting one foot in front of the other. Regardless, I couldn’t stand still. I had to move forward, and I needed to do it myself.
Resting my hand on the dagger in my belt, I seemed to find a bit of balance and stability on the cold handle. It was a small weapon, but certainly enough to keep me safe and alive.
“Y/N!” Turning to the sound of my name, I saw Jaskier hurriedly returning to my side. Geralt was close behind, riding Roach and staring at me.
“What is it…?”
“You may not need my help, but…” Jaskier opened his arms in a kind gesture. “Please allow me”
I looked up at Geralt as he reached us, not daring to mention Roach. Even if I had the feeling that he would let me ride the horse if I asked him, only because I was injured. Still, I had to prove myself that I could do it. It wasn’t that far.
A pang of guilt struck me in the heart, knowing Jaskier hadn’t meant to hurt my frail ego. He truly hadn’t meant any harm, he was only trying to lend a helping hand.
I sighed and gave in, knowing none of that meant that I couldn’t have help in doing it myself. Not being done for me, just having some assistance. I leaned on Jaskier as he wrapped an arm around my waist. I held on to his shoulder while he helped me walk in my feeble state.
“Forgive me” I tiredly hung my head low, staring at our boots as we walked. “I… Truly, Jaskier…”
“I understand” Jaskier softly interrupted me, laughing a little. “I should have known better anyway”
I had to chuckle and shake my head. His foolish carefree nature seemed to relieve my restlessness. A deep voice requested my attention, so I looked up at Geralt.
“I could let you ride on Roach if you really need it” He told me in a neutral voice. “But don’t get used to it, just this time”
“Thanks, but I prefer making Jaskier suffer rather than the horse” My smile, although forced at first, became genuine with Geralt’s amused expression.
“Don’t get too corny” He said nonetheless. “Or I leave you behind”
“And that’s how you repay me, I see” The bard grunted, holding my weight up. “Fantastic”
“You know, you can write a song about the obstinate woman with the soul of a warrior” I told him with a smile, even if clutching my side when it felt a little sore.
“I’m way ahead of you, my lady”
“Never mind, I’ll walk-“
“Alright, alright” He chuckled, tightening his grip on me. “I couldn’t help it, you know…”
It seemed like we were coming to an understanding at last. I was glad, I wouldn’t like anything coming between Jaskier and I. Nor between me and Geralt.
I might have lost a lot in this day, but as I prepared to begin a new life, I realized I had gained something. I felt lucky to have Geralt and Jaskier.

TMNT Universe!Reader x Turtles 3
You tried to mentally prepare yourself for the questioning you knew would ensue as soon as you left the safety of your room. Keyword is ‘tried’.
It seemed that they had been preparing lists of questions, and immediately shot them your way as soon as you exited.
“Whoa, whoa-” you exclaimed, your eyes wide. You could barely distinguish one voice from another, though it was obvious that Mikey was the one speaking the loudest. And had the most unusual questions.
How do you like your pizza? Really? That’s the question you go with?
You silently wondered what questions didn’t make the cut to be first in his mind.
“One at a time, guys, no need to crowd her. Sheesh.” It was Leonardo who stepped forward, holding an arm in front of his brothers as if to keep them from going any closer to you. “I’ll start. You’re not from around here. Where are you from?”
Oh, that was a loaded question. More loaded than a farmer’s gun in the south.
You know what, never mind.
“Do you want the long answer or the short answer? Neither of them include how I got here, still figuring that out,” you said, blinking a few times.
Were they all this absolutely ripped last night?
You swore you were not attracted to these turtles. That would be weird.
Right?
“Whichever one is more exciting, please!” Michelangelo almost sounded like he sang his request, putting his three-fingered hands together in a prayer-like manner.
The brother let you get settled in what you only could assume was their living room before you began the tale. It reminded you of the setting in the movie where they were situated most of the time. It wasn’t too complicated a layout, but you instinctively looked around for the Hashi room. That scene always cracked you up.
“I’m not sure how I got here,” you started, staring into space. There was no way you could just keep looking at them. You’d start to feel things. “Where I’m from, you guys are fictional.”
You remembered them referencing some popular Sci-Fi and Marvel from the first movie.
“Like how you know about X-Men and the Avengers. You guys were just made up.”
“We aren’t real?” Mikey gasped. “Like, legends?”
“Kind of?” You shrugged. “You definitely have a lot of fans. I think that it all started with comics about you guys, then movies and cartoons came out. I’m not really sure. I mostly know about you from these movies- the same guy who directed the Transformers movies directed your movie, actually- and from a few other sources.”
“How much do you know about us?” You could feel Raphael staring into your very soul.
“That depends?” Your voice raised as if asking a question. “There were a lot of different continuities. I mostly know the most recent movies and some profiles from a more recent animated series. I could be wrong, but I think there were… Four? Four animated series that were all similar, but targeted different audiences.”
You were absolutely not about to admit that all you really knew about those animated series were from gifs on Tumblr with no context. It was just better that way.
It took no time at all for each brother to individually attack you with questions about each of their characters. You answered them as best you could, but honestly, some of your answers you pulled out your ass. There were just so many different versions of them.
If this ever ended (and you prayed it didn’t), you promised to yourself to indulge in each continuity.
Once each and every brother became satisfied with your answers, you finally felt yourself relax. They took this surprisingly well. You couldn’t imagine someone suddenly popping into your life and telling you that they’ve read about you in books and were a fan of you.
Your life was way too boring for that. You were barely your own main character.
“We know that the technology for teleportation exists,” Donatello said. “It would only make sense that if that exists, it’s also possible for a device that can cross through dimensions exists as well.”
As he rambled on, you found yourself lost amid the scientific jargon he spewed. You clearly knew words like ‘the’ and ‘and’, but the words enveloping them? Not so much. You were never the best student in science class.
Although, you admitted to yourself, this was far beyond that. And to think he had no technical training.
“Does that make sense?”
“Hm?” You blinked, looking back up at the purple-banded turtle.
“I’m thinking it could have been an accident. I’m not sure if it had anything to do with the Purple Dragons, but you somehow got caught in them after transporting here,” he said thoughtfully. “You weren’t involved in any technological experimentation, correct?”
You blinked again. “Not that I was aware of. I have an uncle who is a rocket scientist, but I haven’t seen him in forever.”
Donatello sighed. “Until we can find out exactly what brought you here, there’s really nothing we can do. There’s not much to go off of. You weren’t involved in any experiments, you say you were sitting at your home- what were you doing at home? Did you get struck by lightning?”
“I was indoors,” you stated. “Watching a movie by myself. Alone.”
That did sound pitiful.
He made a face. “Right. As I said, until we figure this out- you’re stuck here, Y/N.”
You sat quietly on the couch, looking down at your feet. This wasn’t exactly the best-case scenario, but you were convinced this wasn't the worst-case scenario either. You could have been dropped into the live-action Avatar The Last Airbender movie. That would be the absolute worst.
“So what now? Do I go up top and find a job, get my own place, start a life here? Do I stay down here hoping to help you guys figure out what got me here? What?”
Your first option didn’t sound like something you wanted. You were suddenly given this opportunity to not have anything expected of you. You could live in secret, or as secret as the turtles allowed you to be. You didn’t want to feel like a freeloader, but also figured that one extra mouth to feed wouldn’t be a huge stretch for them. You knew how they ate already.
Man, you would not keep your figure on their diet.
It was Leonardo that spoke up. “No rash decisions yet. We’ll take every day as it comes. You can get a job or something if you want, but I’m almost nervous that who or whatever brought you here might be looking for you. They might be angry that whatever happened possibly happened wrong.”
Good point, good point.
“So I’ll stay down here until further notice,” you concluded, leaning back into the couch. You certainly didn’t expect it to go as far back as it did, and you ended up laying down with only your legs not on the actual couch. This was very smooth of you. “Huh.”
You could barely see Leonardo tilt his head in your direction. “You alright there?”
“This is a lot to take in.”
“We’ve seen some pretty strange things, but this might top it,” Raphael said. You couldn’t see his face, but you could almost hear the smirk. “At least we got a fangirl.”
You sat up slowly, rattling your brain for a witty remark. When none came to mind, you settled on sticking your tongue out. You might not be a teenager anymore, but there’s always that inner-child inside of you.
Being with these four, and Splinter, was something you had dreamed about years ago when you first saw the 2014 movie. Now that you had calmed down (for the most part) and ‘grown-up’, it was bringing back the memories of dreaming how something just like this would go. Who you would possibly end up with. How you would get along with the others.
You weren’t sure if you were excited or terrified that those dreams actually come to fruition.

Tap...tap...tap, the bamboo well sounded to the right of a young schoolgirl dressed a purple uniform, the ascot on her uniform being dark blue with a small mermaid tail on one the sides that her mother had stitched into it to make the young woman stand out, despite her will to never stand out.
School had let out a few hours ago, and she, ( y/n ) was tasked with heading to the Kujo household to give Jotaro his homework for the past few weeks.
The tall, muscular delinquent had pretty much disappeared from their school. He just up and left, without a word. Leaving his grades and fanclub to somewhat suffer, which was where ( y/n ) came in.
One of the top and most well behaved students at their school, trusted by the admiration. She was known for her good girl status across the campus. But she was fairly timid, quiet and, very reserved. If she spent half as much time as she did focusing on her work, she would have more friends than she did.
But what could you expect from her? It was expected of her. Her father was the school’s principal, while her mother was a college professor. She was expected to be smart and top of her class. Anything lower than that would be unacceptable. It was stressed to her from a young age from both of her parents as well as the rest of her family, as they had high expectations for her future, hoping she would become a doctor or a lawyer, even if she didn’t know what she wanted to do with her life after high school at this point.
Now the principal’s daughter stood in front of the luxurious Kujo home, coming just from school, holding a large vanilla folder full of worksheets, handwritten notes from her very own journal that she copied onto her own loose-leaf paper because she ran out of printer paper at home and she was too scared to ask her mother for more, and many more papers that served as guides that would help Jotaro with all of his homework and studies since he wasn’t in class for the lessons.
She didn’t want to be here. She barely even knew the guy, only having any a handful of encounters with him.
He was her lab partner for a physics project once, but the two never talked after that. They had barely talked during the project. She tried to introduce herself and he blew her off, wanting to do the project alone. But he came around in the end, helping her but he wasn’t in school the day the two had to present as he was rumored to have been arrested the night before for beating a group of thugs to a pulp.
She always felt weird around him, like she was unwanted and she understood, trying to stay out of his hair often the project but at the discretion of her father, once again here she was having to meet the cold individual because he didn’t trust anyone else to do it.
In his own words: “You two are classmates. I’m sure he’ll be happier to get his work from a classmate rather than a teacher. And you’re one of the only students who doesn’t fangirl around him.”
Right, his fangirls who were both envious and angry at ( y/n ) for getting the chance to go to Jotaro’s home and give him his homework. It’s not like she wanted to do it anyways.
The property was quite gorgeous, and quiet. In a way, too quiet. She crossed the wooden bridge, walking to the home. She felt nervousness fill in her chest, as her heart began to race. She clung on tightly to the vanilla folder, as she approached the door.
Now face to face with the door, she knocked slightly, hoping and praying no one would answer the door, but she was wrong.
A sickly-looking fair headed woman with the prettiest blue-green eyes. Her skin was as pale as paper and beads of sweat decorated her forehead. She looked not only sick but in pain.
“A-Are you okay?” The young girl asked with a look of concern washing over her face.
The fair headed woman gave her a weak smile, “Y-Yes. I’m just a little tired. Luckily, I was already heading to the door when you came. C-Come in...”
“B-But I haven’t introduced myself ye―” She began, stopping midsentence as she watched the older woman’s eyes roll to the back of her head, as her body gave out from under her.
“MRS. KUJO!” She dropped the folder, quickly grabbing Holly before she could reach the ground. Her weak arms barely being able to hold the woman up. She quickly recovered herself, wrapping one of Holly’s arms around her shoulders and leading her over to a futon that sat in the middle of the floor and placing her down gently, “Easy does it.”
Holly opened her eyes, reaching up for her head, “What...what happened?”
“You passed out at the door, Mrs. Kujo, and I caught you before you fell. You only blacked out for a minute.” She placed the back of her hand to Holly’s forehead, feeling the extreme warmth, “You’re burning up. Have you seen a doctor? Do you need me to call an ambulance.”
“N-No! I’ll be okay...please don’t worry about me.”
“It’s kind of hard not to. You fainted at the door. And you’re here with a high fever all alone. Is Jotaro here with you? Is that why he hasn’t been coming to school?”
Holly eyed the girl up and down, noticing her school uniform, “Oh...you must be one of Jotaro’s classmates. He’s not here now and he won’t be here for a while. Did...did you come here to bring his work to him?”
“Yes, is that...is that okay?”
“Of course. I wouldn’t want my boy to get behind on his school work.”
The girl lowered her head slightly, “I...I brought extensive notes for him as well, so he could understand the lesson despite not being there for it. If he needs more help, I’d be very happy to help him.”
“What’s your name?”
“( l/n ) ( y/n ), why?”
“Because I wanted to put a name to your face and so I can tell Jotaro who brought his work when he comes back,” Holly said with a smile. For a sickly woman, she sure did smile a lot. She struggled to sit up.
“M-Mrs, Kujo! You should lay down so you don’t hurt yourself,” ( y/n ) warned the woman, putting a hand on the woman’s shoulder gently. Holly laid back down, letting a pained whimper.
“I...I should go. I’ll pick up the notes and worksheets and I’ll leave them on the table for Jotaro.”
Holly took ( y/n )’s hand into her soft one, putting her free hand on top of their joint hands, “Could you do one thing for me before you go?”
“Of course, anything.”
“Could you make me shogayu? I could really go for some.”
The young girl nodded, “Of course. It will only be a second.”
And she did just that, making the older woman shogayu. The best damn shogayu she ever made all for the mother of one of her classmates because it made her feel warm on the inside watching Holly smile.
Seconds turned into minutes. Minutes turned into hours. Before ( y/n ) knew it, the sun was beginning to set and the moon was beginning to rise. She had gotten lost in conversation with the fair headed woman. It was the best type of conversation to have, one where you could talk about just about anything.
Holly had told embarrassing childhood tales of Jotaro, even some from her own childhood. Even at one point, ( y/n ) had opened up to Holly about her struggle with her own family and she listened. No one had ever listened to her before, at least not like Holly did. Here she felt like she was her own person and not the daughter of her parents.
Much to her dismay, she had to go home. But she made sure that wasn’t the last time she had met Holly.
Many more days after that, she returned to the home to check on her, each day she had gotten worse and it had scared her. She had made a new friend who was getting worse and worse by the day. She watched as random men from some unknown foundation came in and hooked her to IVs and many other machines to keep her breathing.
Seeing Holly like this, broke her. There she sat, on her knees in front of Holly’s futon, the sound of beeping from the machine and sniffles filled the now silent room. She had been since school had let out, her backpack was tossed across the room as she ran to Holly’s side to keep her company. Even if she was out cold, she still wanted to be there for her when she woke up. She held onto her hand, just like the first night she met the hair headed woman, how Holly held onto her hand, as she softly sang Japanese lullabies her own mother sang to her when she was sick.
The last few days were the worst, being told that Holly was on the verge of death and she didn’t understand why. She was told nothing. What was killing her? Why was she dying? Why were all these people from this organization here? What was going on?
She didn’t understand. Not even when a much older woman had walked in, claiming to be Holly’s mother. ( y/n ) didn’t talk much, only worrying about Holly’s condition. She had cried over someone else’s mother than she had over anything else. She had never experienced loss and she was afraid to.
Not only was the thought of losing a friend and mother figure on her mind, but the scary reality that Jotaro could be gone and his mother could die without even getting to tell him that she loves him one last time.
But her thoughts had disappeared one day.
It started out just like any day. After the dismissal bell had sounded through every room of the school, the girl rushed to grab her things, shoving them into her backpack and practically running out of the school and to the Kujo home.
Just as she reached the bridge, she halted. Standing on the other side was the tall stoic boy.
Jotaro was back.
There he stood in all his glory. He wore a purple tank top, his arm wrapped in a cast, a sling around his neck to hold it up. His upper arms on either side were decorated in red and purple bruises and elastic bandages. Even without his jacket on, she still recognized those bright blue eyes of his. That is of course without paying attention to his hat.
He noticed the panic and sadness in her eyes. But it wasn’t because she pitied him. He knew why she was here. She was here to check on his mother. He had become aware of her visits to his home from his grandmother, Suzi Q, who even told him, “there were even nights where she didn’t leave and slept over, but she always made sure to leave early in the morning so her family wouldn’t go out looking for her”.
To know that she cared for his mother so much, to come every day after school, it surprised him. Even if he didn’t want to admit it, it warmed his heart. And he knew that that was exactly reason she stood on the other side of the bridge right now, to see if Holly had made it.
He stepped to the side, giving her a clear walkway. He shoved his one hand into the pocket of his pants, looking away from her, “She hasn’t stopped talking about you since she woke up. She’ll be happy to see you.”
( y/n )’s ears peered up at the mention of ‘her’. She knew there was only one person he could be talking about. A look of glee replaced her look of panic and sadness, as she ran across the bridge right into his arms, hugging him gently, careful not to hurt his arm.
“Get off,” He said coldly, returning to the boy she knew. She did as he said, running toward the large home, calling out to Holly who met her halfway, pulling her in for a tight hug.
Dinner was fun that night, Holly inviting ( y/n ) to stay and take a seat between her and Jotaro. Holly quickly introduced the young girl to Joseph who had thanked her profusely for taking care and keeping his only baby girl company for as long as she did.
Jotaro had struggled slightly with his meal, the young girl had offered to help. Even after he declined a few times, she still helped him. And he watched her. Not in angry or annoyance, but in admiration and astonishment. From what he had recalled about his minimal encounters principal’s daughter, he wasn’t very nice to her. But here she was, in his home, trying to help him eat. And for the first time in a long time, he let go and allowed her to help him.
In the following weeks, she helped him get back on track with his studies, taking things slowly as he still injured and often would zone out when she was talking.
Unsure whether to ask him or not, she had asked his grandfather Joseph and she learned the truth or at least part of the truth. Her inability to see Stands had made it hard for the old man to explain some parts of what had happened to not only Jotaro but him and a friend they made along the way to Egypt.
She learned of the deaths of three.
Avdol.
Iggy.
Kakyoin.
All friends of Jotaro’s. Dead. Gone. Never coming back. He can never see them again. Never talk to them, never tell them how they made him feel. Joseph was mumbling on about survivor’s guilt when it hit her. He wasn’t only hurting physically but mentally as well. It was all too much for a 17-year-old to handle, let alone an adult! But yet here he was, trying to push onto the next day. Acting tough, like nothing ever happened.
She knew it was wrong to just bring it up if he didn’t want to talk about it with her. I mean who was she? Just a classmate of his. She wasn’t a friend. She wasn’t family. She was just a classmate who helped him on the side to help get his grades back up.
But she couldn’t lie and pretend she didn’t know, especially when the death of his three friends was beginning to affect his grades again. And so she told him.
“Jotaro...if you ever need someone to talk to...about anything...anything at all...I’m here for you and I will always be here for you. And I hope you know that.”
Though he didn’t say anything that day, he took her words and held onto them.
Weeks had passed since then and they were now about to graduate. She was top of the class, followed closely behind by Jotaro, who was only a point behind her.
Just by pure coincidence, the two had gotten accepted into the same university in America. He was going into marine biology, and she, law. According to Holly, it was somehow fate trying to tell her something but she blew it off and prepared for her great big move to America which would be happening soon.
During the night, on her last week in Japan, there was a light tapping at her window, waking her up. It was Jotaro at her window. She opened the window, asking him if something was wrong. Not only was it pitch black outside and probably past midnight, but he had never done this before.
But her questions were answered when she looked into his eyes, not seeing that tall, stoic man, but a sensitive young man who has been through a lot. He opened his mouth and reminded her of her own words, “( y/n ), do you remember you said I could talk to you about anything?”
“Of course I do, Jojo.”
“Are...are you available to talk right now?”
How was she going to say now? She allowed the man to climb into her bedroom, closing the window behind him. And he told her everything, from start to finish, beginning to end.
He told her about his Stand, Star Platinum, and the first time it had appeared. He told her of seeing Star’s true potential and when he learned of what a Stand really was. He told her of the friends he made along the way, the friends he had lost at the very end before coming home. He even told her why he left and why Holly was sick.
The man was sobbing by the end of it. She, not knowing how else to comfort him, pulled him in for a hug, allowing him to let out and thanking him for trusting her with such information. Though he found himself embarrassed for crying in front of her, she tried to let him know that it was okay to cry sometimes.
“Thank you, Jojo.”
“For what?”
“Letting me inside, letting me comfort you, letting me hold you.”

But that was all in 1989.
It was now 1999.
Ten years had past and the two were still inseparable.
Well, almost.
The now much older woman let out an annoyed whine, as she leaned against the side of the brown desk. She placed both of her hands onto the surface of the desk before scooting up onto it, much to the dismay of the man sitting next to her who was concentrated on a stack of papers in front of him.
“Jojo, I finally get some time between cases and you head off to leave us again?”
“I don’t particularly want to. Joseph wants me to.”
( y/n ) folded her arms across her chest, letting out a huff, “I forgot. Joseph’s illegitimate son is all the new rave. I know Grandma Suzi is taking it rough. I wonder how Mom is taking it.”
“I’m not sure and I don’t think I want to know right now. I’m only going to Morioh to investigate. I’ll be back before you know it,” He added, his eyes still scanning over the papers in front of him.
She rolled her eyes, “You always say that. You and this Stand stuff. I don’t think I’ll ever understand and I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing. You could have married a girl with a Stand.”
“But I didn’t. You’re the perfect one for me.”
He had proposed a year and a half into their relationship, the pair getting married at the young age of 20. He had married his best friend and the woman who listened to him. A year later the pair welcomed their first and only child, Jolyne, Holly being the one who picked out her name.
Even at a young age, she had developed Jotaro’s personality and a modified version of his catchphrase, which annoyed her mother, hoping she would at least develop something from her.
In reality, she did. She developed ( y/n )’s annoyance toward Jotaro’s frequent absence. Oh, and her eyes.
The man took his wife’s left hand into his own, looking down at her wedding band and diamond engagement ring. She always wore both. Why just wear one when both were gorgeous? He continued, “I wouldn’t have had it any other way. Stand or not, you’re the only woman I want. Not for your looks, even though you’re the most beautiful woman alive. Not for your talents, even though you’re the most talented woman I know. Hell not even for your job, even though you’re the best damn lawyer on the face of this Earth. I love you because of your personality, because you’re my rock, you’re the woman who I trust my life with.”
“You’re only getting soft on me because you know you’re going to be gone for a while, don’t you?” The woman questioned, trying not to swoon over his words. It had worked many times before but now this time. They had been married for eight years now. She knew him inside and out.
He was smart enough not to answer, kissing her knuckles.
“You’re unbelievable, Jojo. But you flatter me. Do you really trust me with your life? Even if I don’t have a Stand?”
“You’re the only one I will ever trust. You said it yourself back when we were teenagers. That night when I came to your door, I let you inside. I let you comfort me. I let you hold me. And I don’t think I could ever do that with another person, let alone another woman,” He answered truthfully, pulling his wife of eight years from his desk, onto his lap.
( y/n ) giggled, “You’re still my stoic romantic. I love you, Jojo.”
“I love you too, ( y/n ).”
The woman wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him in for a passionate, loving kiss. He kissed back, wasting little time, wrapping one strong arm around her waist, pulling her as close as he could get. His strong chest had collided with hers, their fragrances intermixing with one another to create a new one, love.
He could feel her warmth, and she could feel his. It wasn’t often he would let her kiss him like this. It was always a simple peck on the cheek or sometimes on the lips.
She missed this. She missed her husband.
In marrying him, she knew he wasn’t the most affectionate man, so when he was affectionate, she didn’t waste a single touch, a single hug, a single kiss. She had always waited for it. And when it came, it had always made her giddy like a little child, this moment they shared in his office.
Interrupting their kiss, a small ‘yuck’ sounded from a crack in the door. Jotaro had pulled away from your lips, an audible whine leaving her lips. Jotaro looked toward the track in the door, seeing their daughter peeping at the two of them with a look of disgust.
Seeing as now she was caught, Jolyne’s eyes widened before she rubbed her eyes and opening the door. She faked a yawn, stepping into the office, “Mommy, I had a bad dream―”
“Jolyne, no need to lie. We both know you were standing right there the entire time. No one else is in the house but the three of us.”
The young girl, put her small hands behind her back, “Maybe...maybe there’s someone else in the house.”
( y/n ) raised an eyebrow, “Someone else in the house? Like a monster.” A small devilish grin appeared on her face. There was something about that grin that made set a flame inside of him. He knew what she was doing and decided to play along.
Jotaro hummed, “There might be a monster in the house. I remember seeing it on the way to work just when I stopped in Jolyne’s room to kiss her forehead before I left. He was in the closet.”
Jolyne’s eyes widened once more at the mention of a monster being in her closet. She stood frozen, as parents continued to relish over seeing some kind of monster. Her mother continued, “I think that was a different one. The one I saw was under her bed. It had long skinny hands with razor-sharp claws. It even asked me if it could eat her and I said―”
Before she could finish, Jolyne ran into her parents, pulling them both in for a tight hug as she sobbed, “MOMMY! DADDY! PLEASE DON’T LET THEM GET ME! I WON’T SPY ANYMORE! I WON’T BE BAD! PLEASE! DON’T LET THEM GET ME!”
“J-Jojo. There are no monsters. We were just messing with you. Daddy killed all the monsters,” ( y/n ) explained, trying to soothe the now sobbing Jolyne.
Jolyne sniffled, “Really?”
Jotaro kissed his daughter’s head, “Yes, I did. No monsters will ever get to you. I promise. Monsters...they’re scary but we have to fight them sometimes and if I didn’t fight the monsters I did, I wouldn’t have met your mother and you wouldn’t be here. After fighting the real monsters, I fought monsters that were in my head.”
Jolyne gasped, listening to her father, “Monsters can get in your head?”
Her father nodded, “They get in there and they stay in there. They suck the life out of you and remind you of what went wrong.”
( y/n ) listened closely, watching as Jolyne had slowly retracted her arms, climbing into her mother’s lap. Jotaro reached up slightly, wiping away the tears that had fallen from Jolyne’s emerald green eyes, which reminded him of what used to be. He continued.
“And when monsters get in your head it’s hard to get them out. Sometimes...people don’t get them out.”
“What happens when the monsters don’t come out?”
“It depends. Sometimes that person, goes a while they move on to a better place,” He tried to explain, not wanting to explain the concept of death to the seven-year-old.
Jolyne blinked, “But they come back, right? They have family and friends so they can’t leave, right?”
( y/n ) looked to her husband, noticing the sudden change in his face. She knew this was a sensitive subject. Though he claimed to be over the death of his friends, she knew he wasn’t. You don’t just get over the death of someone close to you.
To this day, he often woke up in cold sweats from nightmares about his trip to Egypt, seeing his friends die before his eyes and not being able to do anything about it.
His most recent nightmare being one about his own wife and daughter become victims of DIO. Hearing their screams and cries had stuck in his mind and wouldn’t leave. He...he broke out into tears in his sleep. ( y/n ) had woken him up from nightmare, and he hugged her tighter than he ever hugged her before. He even brought a sleeping Jolyne into the master bedroom, so he could watch over the most two important women in his life.
( y/n ) opened her mouth to speak, but Jotaro was quicker, “Sometimes, they don’t come back and they can’t come back. But when you have the right people to talk to and you have someone at your side, they can get better. I got a little better because your mother helped me fight my mind monsters.”
Jolyne looked to her mother in amazement, her eyes sparkling in joy, “Mommy, can fight mind monsters?! That’s so cool!”
He nodded in agreement, “She is really cool. She’s very cool. And I’m so happy I met her and opened up to her. And it was all because of―”
“GRANDMA!” Jolyne interrupted him, holding her small fists in the air with stars in her eyes. ( y/n ) ruffled her daughter’s hair gently, kissing her cheek, “I’m going to go make dinner―”
“No need. I already made it,” Jotaro chimed.
“But you didn’t...”
“Yeah! I’m ready to eat!”
With the flash of light, the couple’s emerald-eyed daughter had bolted out of the office.
( y/n ) was suspicious, “You stopped time to make dinner, didn’t you?”
“Maybe I did, maybe I didn’t. You’ll never know.”
She smiled at her husband, taking his hat off and putting it on her own head, “I’ll be taking this, Mr. Kujo.”
The man stood up from his chair, wrapping an arm around her waist, pulling her into his broad chest once more. He took his hat back, before unraveling his arm, earning an eye roll from the woman, “You’re such a tease, Mr. Kujo.”
“And you’re a pain in the ass, Mrs. Kujo.”
“But you love it.”
“You’re damn right, I do.”
A now annoyed voice spoke from the door, “Yare yare dawa...CAN YOU TWO STOP KISSING AND COME EAT?! I CAN’T REACH THE PLATES!”

I stopped in front of the Stage One door, looking up at the massive building in front of me. The last month had led up to this very day. I was hired on by Warner Brothers to be the Personal Assistant to Jared Padalecki while he filmed in Vancouver. Even though being a PA was a horrible job, working on the set of my favorite TV show was a dream. I had spent my days leading up to my moving to Vancouver training my inner fangirl to be a normal human being.
“Remember they eat, breath, poop just like any other human.” I whispered to myself on the plane ride from my hometown.
“Girl, please! They are sculpted from marble by the hand of God himself. Just don’t embarrass us in front of them. Make a good impression!” She commanded as if I had any control over that.
Now, standing in front of the main sound stage, my stomach coiled into an anxious knot. Trembling I took a step forward through the door and found myself looking into the Men of Letters Bunker. My inner fangirl squealed with delight urging my body to walk through the set.
“Can I help you?” A tall, dark haired man stood with a camera rig around his waist.
I cleared my throat of the large lump forming within it, “Yeah, my name is (Y/N) and it’s my first day as a PA. The studio told me to go to Stage One when I arrived this morning.”
He smiled a soft chuckle coming from his chest, “Oh you must be Jared’s new wrangler. Here I will show you where to go.”
I followed him to a small office building that had on site office staff and writers housed. He pointed me in the direction of Susan, the executive assistant to Jim Michaels. She was on the phone as she waved me into her office. Standing off to the side was another woman with long, wavy blonde hair. Her fit body was covered by a simple pair of dark jeans, soft chocolate sweater and black knee high boots.
She stuck her hand out towards me, “Hi, I’m Ash. You must be Jared’s new PA.”
Shaking her hand I nodded, “I’m (Y/N).”
“I’m so excited you’re here. Now I don’t have to keep my eyes on both of them. I’m Jensen’s PA so you’ll be hanging with me quite a bit.”
Susan ended her call smiling up at the both of us, “Fantastic, you’re here! I will go with you to meet Jared and then you can shadow Ash for this week. How did your move go?”
“As well as could be expected moving from Kansas to Vancouver. My apartment is amazing.” It was the truth. The apartment Warner Brothers provided was twice the size of the one I had in Kansas.
Ash chuckled, “Yeah it’s nice until you have two Texans crashing your place at all hours.”
My eyes must have widened because both ladies began to laugh, “I haven’t told anyone that you are a fan, (Y/N).”
“Oh… yeah…” I felt my cheeks burning and my inner fangirl was doing cartwheels.
“We’ll keep that between us for now. Jensen and Jared will eat you alive if they found out that juicy piece of information.” Ash chuckled as I noticed Susan flinch slightly.
They led me back towards the row of trailers, the first of which, they stopped and knocked on the door. My heart was beating against my chest and my hands began to shake as the door opened. There stood Jared Padalecki in all his 6’4” glory. His chestnut hair damp from a shower, his light gray t-shirt clinging to his sculpted body and the waistband of his boxers peeking out from his low hanging jeans.
I sucked in a shaky breath making Ash chuckled beside me
“Jared this is your new PA, (Y/N). Be nice.” Susan warned, narrowing her eyes at him.
His laughter echoed around them, “I’m always nice. It’s great to meet you (Y/N). Susan and Jim have told me great things about you. Hopefully, we’ll be great friends.” He held out his hand to me.
When I placed mine in his, the heat coming off of it surprised me. The corner of his lips curling upward into a sly smirk. His hazel eyes caught my attention as flecks of emerald and sapphire seemed to shine. He let go of her hand taking a step towards Ash then leaning down to kiss her kiss.
“Now I see why you needed a new PA.” I mentioned as they both smiled at me, “I look forward to working and getting to know you.”
“Me as well. Are you taking her to meet grumpy pants?” Jared looked at Susan who brow was furrowed at the interaction.
Ash groaned, “Oh no, I thought after last night he would be in a better mood.”
Looking from Susan to Ash it seemed everyone was in on the secret except me, “I’m sure we don’t need to bother him before filming. I can always meet him another time.”
“I’ll take her over to meet him. I need to check in with him anyway and it will be a good experience for her.” Ash reached up giving Jared a quick kiss then stepping away from him.
“I think you have this under control, so if you need anything (Y/N) just come to my office. Please check in with me when you’re done with your day.” Susan did not wait for a reply and walked back towards the offices.
Jared chuckled, “You’d think after all this time that she would be used to us. Ugh!” Ash smacked him in the stomach giving him a stern look.
“Come on (Y/N), let’s go meet Jensen.” Ash and I waved goodbye to Jared.
We walked a couple of trailers down and again my heart began to race. I tried taking a few deep breaths to calm down but the moment she knocked on the door all the air in my lungs vanished. The door opened and Jensen Ackles looked down at us.
“Ash, why so early?” His velvet voice sent shivers down my body.
A slight breeze blew past us and his lean body went rigid. His bright olive eyes darkened to a deep forest green. His fists were clenched at his sides and I could see his arms trembling. Jensen narrowed his menacing gaze at me freezing me in place.
“Go. Away. Now.” He seethed going back into his trailer and slamming the door.
Wide eyed and stunned, I turned to Ash who was looking perplexed, “(Y/N) why don’t you go to craft services. Tell them you want Jared’s usually breakfast and bring it back to his trailer. I will meet you there.”
“O-Okay.”
Ash directed me to where craft services were and the wonderful owners started chuckling when I asked for Jared’s usual. I carefully balanced three cups of coffee atop of three styrofoam containers filled to the brim with eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, muffins and a small cup of fruit. Before I could knock, Ash opened the door to let me inside.
“Great job! My first day, I spilled the coffee.” Ash began to open the containers taking some food for herself and one of the coffees.
She handed another one to me with a soft smile, “Where’s Jared?”
“He’ll be back. He’s having a heart to heart with Jensen. For today, I would just stay clear of him.” I nodded sipping my coffee as Jared came back in frowning.
The morning and afternoon flew by as the guys began filming. Taking Ash’s advice, I made sure to stay out of Jensen’s way and even his line of sight. Not that it mattered because he was permanently in a foul mood for the day. Finally, around six o’clock Ash sent me to see Susan saying she could handle the rest of the evening filming.
Making my way to the offices, I had not seen Jensen for a while and as I made my way to Susan’s office I could hear his velvet voice coming from Jim Michaels’ office.
“She has to go.” He hissed, my heart dropping to my stomach.
There was a long sigh, “She comes highly recommended and honestly she is over qualified to even be a PA. She’s smart, talented and in need of getting her foot in the door. You better than anyone know that starts from the lower level. Did she do something or see something?”
Jensen let out a dark chuckle, “She hasn’t seen anything. She seems naive.”
“Then what’s the problem Jensen?”
There was a long pause before he answered, “She exists, that's the problem.”
I had heard enough and walked towards Susan’s door knocking before entering her office. She was packing up for the day when she looked up smiling at me, “How’d it go?”
I put on my best smile, “Jared and Ash are great. Even Misha behaved himself.”
“Jensen?” She inquired looking as if she were trying to see under my mask.
I squared my shoulders back determined to make this work, “Fine. I know my place and will keep my distance. He’s not who I have to worry about, so all that matters is how I keep Jared on time and in line.”
Susan seemed impressed by my answer then pulled out a manila envelope from her briefcase, “Legal didn’t have this drawn up at the time of your hiring. You will need to read this over and sign it by tomorrow morning.”
I took it from her, “Of course. I will have it for you first thing in the morning. Have a good night.”
Walking out of her office, I made sure Jensen was nowhere in sight. Feeling confident he was gone, I made my way towards my car. Looking down towards the ground as I walked past the row of trailers, I did not notice the black SUV behind me. The honk startled me as I tripped over my own feet landing firmly on my ass.
“Sorry, didn’t mean to scare you. Just needed you to move over a little.” I recognized the driver as Jared and Jensen’s bodyguard/driver, Clif.
The back window slid down as I stood up and Jensen’s dark eyes pierced through me. As they began to pull away I swore I heard a low hiss coming from him. I hurried to my car and drove off the lot as fast as I could. It was not until I was on the highway that my fired nerves finally started to calm down. I knew there was nothing special about me but having my favorite actor despise me sapped all hope out of my heart.
Once I was parked in my spot at my apartment building, I was standing at the elevator when the doors slid open revealing once again the gorgeous man who seemingly hated me.
“Are you following me?” He asked, walking directly at me glaring.
I stepped back, “No I-I’m not. The studio is renting an apartment for me here. I h-had no idea you lived here until Ash mentioned it this morning.”
He ran his hand over his sandy, brown hair, “Why did you take this job?”
His question took me by surprise for a moment, deciding honesty was the best policy, “I wanted to be a part of my favorite show and I wanted to learn more about the business. No better way than to start at ground level and work my way up.”
“Favorite show, huh? So, you like monsters?” He chuckled as if he had told himself a joke.
“The monsters are cool, I guess. I’m more invested in the story of the brothers. Plus there’s no romance in Supernatural which is nice.” I watched as his shoulders relaxed briefly.
His eyes glanced around then came back to me, “You don’t like a love story?”
“No. I’ve had my heart broken too many times. I’d rather escape into a world of monsters than deal with matters of the heart.” My own heart betraying me as it thumped against my ribs.
Standing in front of him now, Jensen was truly striking. His sharp facial features, fair skin, plump red lips and muscular body had my own body aching in ways it had not in years. He was beautiful.
“I should go.” He abruptly left walking off towards the street.
As soon as he was out of sight, I sucked in a deep breath willing my body to move towards the elevator. That night my dreams were filled with dark alleyways and forest green eyes.
Over the next several weeks, I fell into a regular routine on set with Jared and Ash. I kept to my word that I avoided Jensen at any cost, but had noticed he was continually coming around me more. At first, I thought it was just because of Jared, but then I noticed he was coming around when he was not needed on set.
My inner fangirl was urging and encouraging me to talk to him. Then my first time meeting Jensen flashed through my mind and kept me far away from him. The last day of filming for the week was a night shoot. Ash and I were constantly running to get coffee for ourselves and the crew to stay warm. Jared every once in a while would pull us both into a bear hug allowing his body heat to warm us up. We were in the middle of a forest as Jared and Misha were filming a scene and I was trying everything in my power not to chatter my teeth.
“You’re going to freeze to death.” His smooth voice brought heat to my cheeks.
I pulled my coat around me tighter, “I-I’ll be al-alright.”
His perfect lips pursed together before he slid his jacket off his shoulders, “Here take this,” He stepped just close enough to drape his large jacket over my shoulders.
“T-Thank you.” I slipped my arms inside surprised that it was slightly chilled still.
We stood there in silence watching as Jared purposely messed with Misha’s takes, “Children.” Jensen muttered as I chuckled.
In a rare moment I witnessed him smile brief and my inner fangirl sighed gracefully falling onto a lounge chair, “You have a great smile. It’s nice to see it.”
Jensen rolled his eyes, “Yes well, I’ve recently come to the realization that instead of trying to fight fate I should just embrace her cruel destiny.”
I raised an eyebrow at him confused, but decided it was better I remain silent. What did he mean by fighting fate? What destiny? My heart began to race as hope filled my chest. There was something about the way he had been acting and what he said that gave me hope he was talking about me. The director wrapped for the night and we made the trip back to the studio.
Just as my luck has always been, when I got to my car it would not start. I was one of the last people to leave the studio in the early hours of the morning. Trying to decide if it was worth calling a cab or just sleeping in my car. I was leaning towards the latter of the two.
“Everything okay?”
I yelped turning quickly to see Jensen stopped in his car, “Jesus, you scared me.”
He chuckled before shutting his car off and coming towards mine. He lifted the hood and began checking through everything, “Looks like it could be your starter or alternator. We can have one of the mechanics look at it Monday morning.”
I sighed heavily, “Great… just great.”
“Come on, I can give you a ride back to our building.” His genuine smile dazzled me for a moment as he closed up my car and went to open the door to his car for me, “(Y/N)?”
“Um, yeah that would be great. Thank you.” I got into his car shivering from how cold it was inside.
Jensen turned on the heat and took off down the main street towards the highway. His large hands gripped the steering wheel tightly but the rest of his body seemed relaxed. A wave of fear crashed into a wave of excitement of being in close proximity to him. My inner fangirl and mine’s curiosity was getting the better of us from earlier.
“What did you mean by embracing fate’s cruel destiny?” I thought maybe he had not heard me as a silent tension filled the air between us.
“Did you sign the NDA they drew up for you?” Answering a question with a question was a pet peeve of mine but I let it slide.
I turned slightly in my seat, “Yes, though I don’t understand why I needed to sign one. It was clearly stated in my new hire paperwork not to speak of any upcoming episodes or scripts.”
Again, his soft laughter had an edge to it, “The NDA has nothing to do with the show or network. It is something our managers and agents have in place to protect us.”
“You mean protect you and Jared? Why would you two need protecting?” Suddenly images of Jensen starring in his very own version of Fifty Shades of Grey filled my mind and my cheeks burned.
We were approaching our exit and I knew my time would be up with him, but I did not want to leave. He remained silent until he parked in his space within our garage. He turned towards me, his eyes downcast and shoulders slumped forward. If I had not known any better, I would have thought he was upset or in pain.
“Jensen, anything you or Jared would tell me or I would see would strictly be between us. I don’t need a NDA to keep private matters private. I have more respect for both of you that I would never want anyone running your names through the mud of public opinion.”
I reached out my fingers briefly brushing against the back of his smooth skin. A small gasp escaped my lips from how cold he was even with his heater on. He pulled his hand away from me quickly getting out of his car. I followed him towards the main street where he finally stopped.
“I-I’m sorry. I didn’t mean…” He held up his hand to silence me.
Turning back towards me, his eyes were dark once again but not threatening unlike when we first met. No, there was something else. Something I did not recognize, but it made my heart race with anticipation.
“Tomorrow, I promise to explain everything. I will come by to get you around ten o’clock.” Jensen hesitantly brushed the back of his fingers against my cheek and instinctively I gravitated towards his embrace.
He quickly took off down the sidewalk leaving me with a million questions and yearning I had never felt before. In a daze I made up to my apartment and into my bed. Sleep did not come easy and when it did my dreams were vivid, sensual.
True to his word, there was a knock on my door at ten o’clock on the dot. I opened my door inviting him in as I finished getting ready.
“I’m sorry about my place being a mess.” I mumbled going back into my room to grab my coat.
I heard me laugh, “Quite alright, I mean Jared’s place is a pigsty.”
When I walked back out, I watched as his bright olive eyes traveled the length of my body. I nervously fidget with the strings on my coat as a slow smirk spread across his face. Jensen was dressed in a simple black hoodie, dark denim pants and black boots. A pair of dark Ray Bans hanging from the collar of his hoodie. Even dressed down he looked like a runway model.
We walked to the elevator, an empty car arriving, and as we stepped in the tension between us was nearly unbearable. I shifted from one foot to the next avoiding his intense gaze. With lightning speed, Jensen had me caged against the wall and his lips pressed against my throat.
“Jen-Jensen…” I sighed breathlessly as he dragged his nose up my neck to under my ear.
“Dammit, I promised myself I would not lose control around you, but…” he paused taking a deep breath in making my legs tremble, “you smell divine.”
As quickly as the moment had happened it was over as the elevator doors opened. Jensen was on the other side of the car looking unphased by what had happened. Whereas I was trying to remember how to breath and walk at the same time. His low chuckle and smug smirk made me smack his rock hard bicep.
“Ow.” I muttered making him laugh even harder. The pain was worth it to hear his musical laughter.
Instead of going to the garage, Jensen led me towards the sidewalk. He slid his dark sunglasses over his beautiful eyes and pulled his hood up over his head. I figured this was so no one would recognize him from the show. We walked side by side towards a nearby park. Our hands would brush against one another until finally he took mine in his pulling me closer to him. Leading me to a spot just off the Vancouver Harbor.
The sun was shining bright warming my skin then a cold breeze from the water would make me shiver. We sat at a clear spot sitting silently next to one another staring out over the water. Jensen gently pulled me into his side and draped his arm around my shoulder.
“Well, this is much better than when I first met you.” I whispered leaning my head on his shoulder.
I felt him press his lips and nose against the top of my head inhaling deeply, “Yes, well when we first met I wasn’t expecting you to be so… appealing.”
I sat up looking at him, “What does that mean? I feel like you are talking around me and I don’t like that.”
He sighed, pulling his hood down further as the sun shined brightly over us, “It’s only because the truth would send you running far, far away.”
“I told you, anything you tell me is between us. You have my word and a signed NDA for a safety net.” My inner fangirl and I were desperate to know what secret he was holding back. She was practically jumping on the lounger within my mind.
“When Eric Kripke came up with the idea of Supernatural, he had no idea how close to being right he was.” He pulled his sunglasses down his piercing out looking over them.
I swallowed the small lump lodge in my throat, “So you’re saying that supernatural creatures are real or that hunters are real?”
He smiled, pushing his glasses back up, “I guess hunters could be real, but then humans would have to acknowledge the fact that monsters were real.”
“Monsters… like you?” Suddenly a lot of his behaviors were making sense even if my mind could not wrap around the fact that monsters were real.
He nodded, “Does that scare you?”
“No.” My answer came quick and firm. I was not afraid of him. I knew he would never harm me. Somewhere deep within my heart and soul, I knew I was right where I belonged.
“You should be. I’m a dangerous creature even more so than Jared.” He looked out towards the water, “Mainly because Jared is just a big dog. All cute and cuddly as Ash would say.”
“Jared is a… werewolf?” I could not quite believe the words coming from my mouth, but his nod answered my question, “Then you are…”
Jensen faced me baring his teeth as his fangs grew slightly longer than the rest. I sucked in a breath as he closed his mouth, “Now you’re afraid.”
“No. More mesmerized than anything. You’re… you’re a vampire.” The awe in my voice could not be helped. I spent most of my life reading grand tales of mythical creatures and humans falling in love with them. Now, I was in the middle of my own fairytale.
He scoffed, “Mesmerized? I’m an undead murderer and you're in awe of it.” He looked away in disgust.
“I’m in awe of you. You’re obviously drawn to my scent and yet here you sit next to me. You could have ended me at any time these last few weeks but you haven’t. Hell, in the elevator that could have been it, but all you did was… kiss my neck. I’m in awe of your strength and will power.”
Jensen's expression softened and he pulled me back into his side, “It’s difficult being around you. When I first met you, I had never wanted a human so much in my life. First it was my primal need, but now…”
“Now what?” My heart skipped a beat as hope filled my chest.
“Now, I have this overwhelming need to protect you and be by your side always.” His jaw clenched as he spoke the words.
I reached up brushing my hand against his cheek, “Why is that so hard for you to say?”
He leaned into my touch, “Loving me is a death sentence. The thought of losing you is insufferable.”
Jensen’s forehead pressed against mine as I whispered, “We found each other. That’s all that matters.”
“You’re ridiculous, you know that right?” He chuckled, easily lifting me onto his lap and wrapping his arms around me.
“I’ve been called worse. Tell me more about your life.”
For the next several hours, Jensen told me all about his life from his rebirth in 1920 to how he and Jared became best friends. I hung on every word of every story he told and it was not until my stomach began to growl from hunger that he finally stopped.
“You should eat.” He easily picked me up as he stood and set my feet on the ground.
I looked away from him, the anxiety building in my chest knowing we would have to part ways soon. He laced his fingers through mine and led me back towards the main sidewalk. When we arrived at our building, I was having a difficult time keeping the tears that threatened to fall back. Once again, as we stepped into the elevator, the air tightened around us.
“What is it about elevators?” he muttered making me laugh as the very thought had gone through my head.
When we went past my floor, I looked over and saw a smile on his face. We stopped at the very top floor both sighing as we exited the elevator. He pulled out his keys and opened the door for apartment 1520.
“I thought it was only fair if you saw my place as well.” Jensen held the door open for me as I walked in.
The layout was open and bright with one wall being all windows. His furniture was dark gray with steel blue and navy accent pillows. He had a big flat screen TV with a few game consoles. What caught her by surprise was the wall of records and record player he had. I turned back around to see him anxiously watching me.
“Not what I expected from a vampire.” I walked towards his flawless kitchen and looked untouched which I guess was to be expected.
“Were you expecting a coffin and velvet?” His smile was infectious as I nodded.
Taking off my coat, I sat down on his couch as he walked off towards his bedroom. Jensen came back in with his tablet and a blanket. He placed the blanket over my and sat next to me.
“Order whatever you would like for dinner. Don’t worry about paying for it because I insist.” He chuckled as I rolled my eyes.
Deciding to order from my favorite pizza place I handed him the tablet to put his payment information in, “What do you eat?”
“Finally! The question I have been waiting for all day.” He exclaimed, “Are you sure you want to know?”
I nodded, “If I’m diving head first into oblivion then I want to know everything.”
“Brave woman. I still drink blood, but that which is donated. There are certain organizations within the acting community that are set up for actors such as myself. We go to grab our supply of ‘food’ and then we store it in our homes.” He pointed back towards the refrigerator, “All of it is from blood drives once the hospital receives its share then we buy the remainder.”
It was better than him stealing blood like Benny in Supernatural or drinking animal blood like Edward in Twilight, “Oh okay then. At least I won’t be surprised if I open the fridge now.”
There was a sad undertone in his laugh, but I chose to ignore it, “What about Jared and Ash?”
“Ash is human, but she seemingly blossomed at the end of last season. Jared was immediately drawn to her and they spent most of the summer at his cabin near Red Rock Point, Montana.” Jensen bit his lip smirking.
“Why?” I knew there was more to what he was saying but he seemed almost embarrassed to speak of it.
He sighed pulling me closer to him, “If you had asked me that question a month ago I would have given you a snarky answer about not being able to control his inner animal, but now… now I know better.”
I leaned my head against his shoulder, “Meaning…”
“Every few months, Jared would go into what he calls a rut. His need to procreate becomes overwhelming and he has to be off on his own as a wolf to deal with it. Now, he found his mate and one weekend a month they will go off to his cabin to… you know…”
My inner fangirl was begging on her knees for Jensen to say the words out loud but I just nodded, “I get it. Why is it now that you know better than before?”
I looked up into his shining eyes captivated as he leaned closer to me, “Because now I know exactly how Jared felt when he found Ash.”
His perfect full lips were inching closer to mine. My tongue darted out over them just before his were going to touch them then his door intercom buzzed. A small growl escaped his lips as he quickly got up buzzing the delivery man in. I found myself trying to take deep breaths to collect myself as my inner fangirl was hyperventilating.
“Dinner is served.” He said placing the box down on the table.
“I’m not hungry right now.” I said as he sat back down next to me.
He laughed, “Eat before the alien in your stomach pops out and eats the pizza for you.”
I narrowed my eyes at him before lifting the box open and grabbing a slice. Settling back into his side, he turned on his Netflix account. His fingertips trailing down my arm as I took a bite.
As I was taking a second bite he leaned in whispering into my ear, “There will be plenty of time to test my will power later.”
I shivered, truly no longer hungry for food. I placed the piece of pizza back in the back turning towards him, “What would happen if I took initiative and kissed you?”
He turned into a stone statue as he stared at me, “That would be a very dangerous thing to do.” He spoke slowly with a hint of challenge in his tone.
My inner fangirl was cheering me on as I pushed the blanket onto the floor and swung my leg over his lap sitting on his thighs. His ice cold hands gripped my hips as I leaned down my lips hovering his. There was a brief moment where time stood still then it was as if a rubber band snapped. His lips crashed against me and his arms wrapped around my waist holding me against him. He groaned as if in pain and I pulled away from him.
“Since I’m breaking all my rules and going to hell…” He whispered and in a flash we were both tumbling onto his bed.
That night was the best one of my life. Jensen may be a primal killer but with me he was nothing short of a gentle lover. I knew from that moment, I would do anything to remain at his side forever. Just like every cliche movie or book trope where the meek, naive woman falls in love with a monster that has a heart gold. I found myself in their exact shoes desiring an everlasting love affair with a vampire.
On Monday, when Jensen and I arrived at the studio, Jared and Ash were waiting by his trailer. No words were spoken between them but by the smiles on their faces I could tell they knew what was going on between Jensen and I.
“You owe me twenty bucks Padalecki.” I heard Ash as Jared grumbled.
Jensen and I laughed as we walked to the studio building to meet with the executive producers and legal team concerning our newly starting relationship together.
