There are powers beyond darkness at work in this world. Perhaps on days such as this, we’ve little choice but to trust in their designs. And surrender our own.
Galadriel by me (insta), photo by Adel Gundyrin
I've been looking at this photo for two days now, this is quite possibly one of my fave photos in almost 10 years of cosplay, and the fact that it wasn't taken at the photoshoot, convention or by myself near the wall like I mostly do lately 😹 is absolutely mindblowing to me.
Been a while since I posted a full cosplay pic! Because of that, the next pic needed to be a special one: a character I love, taken from a shoot in my birthday 🖤
The weekend is over and I literally spent 3 days working on my Galadriel cosplay 😵💫
I accumulated 20 hours of work so far, and I'm not done, believe me !!!
I'm working on this project with my sister @kuroe-kitsune-sama . We are both invited by a convention as guests. We will have our own stand, will participate in Cosplay conferences on stage, and organise Cosplay shows ✨️
The deadline is soon (next month), and we have to hurry 😵💫
Which is why I haven't drawn much lately. But don't worry, I have plenty of ideas and I'm far from done with my Tolkien's drawings/OCs ✨️
Anyways, I will let you with some of my Cosplays. ('Cause I'm showing you my sewing WIPs, but I haven't actually shown you my finished Cosplays 😅)
since orome is obviously the family vala (with aule coming in second) the group costume theme that year was orome. (they do a different vala each year)
yes celegorm does in fact have a horse, yes his horse does actually look somewhat like nahar, and yes he put a rubber horse mask on huan instead.
instead of doing orome + a friend, ambarussa are doing Tall Orome (they did rock paper scissors for who gets to be the head).
aredhel and galadriel show up as orome & vana, but halfway through the party galadriel pops into the bathroom and converts her costume to tulkas:
Bonus: Maglor forgot what the theme was and showed up dressed as a crab
Adaneth, I tell thee, Aikanár, the Sharp-flame loved thee. For thy sake now he will never take the hand of any bride of his own kindred, but live alone to the end, remembering the morning in the hills of Dorthonion. But too soon in the North-wind his flame will go out! (J.R.R. Tolkien, Athrabeth Finrod ah Andreth)

Could Anyone With Cosplay and/or Sewing Experience Help Me?
I am wondering if the style of this dress has a name? I want to cosplay Galadriel (Specifically her look from Rings of Power) but since I am a broke college student, I don't want to spend a whole lot of money on materials like foam and stuff to make armor, even though I would love to do that one day. For now, I want to keep it simple, which is why I chose this outfit below.
I'm trying to look up patterns but I'm having no luck. So far, I have looked up some simple nightgown designs as inspiration, but I can't find anything with the right neckline. All the patterns I find that are close have a square neckline, which is not the correct look. As we can see, Galadriel's dress has a curved neckline. It also has that bunched look at the top, which I have no idea what that's called either. As you can probably tell, I have no experience with sewing clothes, but I really want to try, and I think this could be easy once I get a good pattern and find the right fabric. I am planning on embroidering the designs on the neck and sleeves once I get the actual sewing done, but I don't want to buy any of the other materials until I know I can find a proper pattern to follow.
Any help or advice on this would be greatly appreciated and I will love you forever if you are able to give me any tips or suggestions!
it's not 100% finished but i can't even say how happy and proud i am to finally have legolas to a wearable state! i have been putting finishing this cosplay off for 4 years because i was afraid i would hate the result but i love how i look and i can't wait to continue finishing the details!!!!
This is one of my favourite Galadriel shoots EVER (and just plain shoots tbh). I have never felt more ethereal than in these photos, and I am forever grateful that @lizabetroberts was able and willing to fit me into her packed New England shoot schedule! She is such a gem to work with and she brought this otherworldly quality that was absolutely magical. ✨
(Also my makeup and wig were just cooperating so well that day—blessings from the Valar!)
Galadriel selfies. Today was actually a really good and productive day. It's the second photo planer I've been to in my life, and it turned out way better than the first one. Maybe I should try to attend those things more often.
IT'S TIME, BABY! Getting the house decorated today!! This year I hope to do something really special when trick or treaters come, something the adults can enjoy, too! I have it all planned 🖤 plus lots of seeing friends this month, my heart needs it!
