Fëanor Threatens Fingolfin

I'm doing a readthrough of The Silmarillion, and a journaling project alongside it - and today's chapter was 'Of The Silmarils and the Unrest of the Noldor!'

I did this illustration for it, which I'm really proud of (despite traditional art not being my main medium), so I thought I'd share! Maybe when I'm done with the whole thing I'll do a journal tour.

While the previous photos of my newest Tolkien cosplay (Ndani-tharo/Denethor of the Nandor) showcase the colors of the costume, this edit is closer to how it probably would have looked, since Ndanitharo lived and died before the Sun and the Moon first rose. I imagine the elves would have been able to see better than we do in a moonless night, so I didn’t edit everything just grey or excessively dark. ;)

Im sorry but i see SO MUCH ai art used in Lotr fan content(not on tumblr only but on instagram, youtube, twitter, etc.!), you guys, AI art has NO HOME HERE, stop using it! Tolkien did not spend as much time as he did world building and writing these books and making little illustrations for you guys to go and use ai art. stop! especially when theres so many amazing artists in the community that you could ASK to use the art of for whatever you’re doing. seriously.
