So, Clockwork had sent him to another dimension. No problem with that, he actually liked to explore the different dimensions, though he wondered what "lesson" was there for him to learn.

He avoided all nearby beings (he didn't want to face them, even though he had so many questions for the Martian). His plan was going spectacularly well until he tripped over a chair and hit his foot. The pain was immense and he just started cursing.

Now, Jazz was very sensitive about the "we don't swear in this house" part since he was little so, well, he had to get creative and start swearing in languages ​​she didn't understand. Alien languages ​​he had known in the Infinite Realms.

The first thing that gave away the halfa wasn't the lack of invisibility or the Watchtower-wide intruder alert. It was the moment where he realized that his invisibility had failed him, so he did the only thing he could think of: he raised his hand in greeting. And disappeared immediately after.

Connor was always deviant

Let’s begin by talking about deviancy: it is a gradual thing. We see androids feel things before they break the red wall and becoming officially deviant. Therefore, I don’t think androids actually have to break a red wall in order to act of their own free will, but that it’s merely there to show the player what’s happening and the magnitude of it. In reality, the moment which the wall “breaks,” is merely the realization that the android doesn’t have to follow their instructions if they don’t want to. But to get to this point, an android needs to have a reason for why they would choose to abandon their directives, be it through trauma or the triggering of another free android. To be traumatized, one needs to feel, and when and why an android begins to feel is a little bit muddy, but eventually it culminates into deviancy (free will).

Now, when we play as Markus, Kara, and Connor, we get to see all three moments of deviation, except ... I don’t think Connor’s deviation was real, because he was already deviant prior to that.

Connor is a prototype investigative model, meaning he’s CyberLife’s experiment in a different branch of androids. Connor is an android designed with an unprecedented amount of autonomy in mind, meaning he’s expected to solve problems by himself with minimal input from others. Every android is autonomous to a degree: tell them to do the laundry, and they will take it from there; you don’t need to instruct them every second of the way. But Connor is meant to operate at a level above that.

Connor receives the mission to apprehend deviants so CyberLife can study them, but he needs to use his own reasoning and decision-making to determine the best approach according to a number of factors. The tasks Connor is given are much more complex, and therefore require a complex way of thinking. But not only is he a hunter; he’s an investigator.

The traits most benefiting to an investigator are curiosity and empathy: both of which are arguably impossible without having emotions. Curiosity is necessary to possess the drive to look for clues even when there seemingly are none. To want to find out what happened, if only to sate your own curiosity. Empathy, because it is vital to be able to put yourself in the shoes of the object of investigation. To think like them, to feel like them, to become them.

A machine doesn’t have emotions and isn’t capable of feeling curiosity nor empathy, which CyberLife probably found troublesome in their quest to create an investigative android. Especially one they were planning on using to catch androids that supposedly have begun to feel emotions. So what did they do? They made their investigative android deviant, but he’s unaware of it.

Having a deviant deviant hunter/investigative model is ingenious because of the following reasons:

1. Its thought process and decision-making is extremely complex and can therefore easily extrapolate and come to a conclusion all by itself.

2. It’s completely autonomous and can make decisions without a human’s approval.

3. It understands and empathizes with its subjects, facilitating negotiation, interrogation, and investigation.

4. It is curious, making it want to acquire more information simply for the sake of sating its curiosity.

5. It is able to be manipulated.

While it is not confirmed in canon that Connor was always deviant, everything we see in the game points towards it. Mainly, I’m referring to the implementation and usage of Amanda. Why would CyberLife need an additional (non-deviant) AI to act as Connor’s handler? And why on Earth would they take walks and boat rides in a virtual reality?

My theory is that Amanda is CyberLife’s solution to manipulating and managing a truly autonomous being to get it to do their bidding and having it stay on track. Connor tracks his relationship to humans, which is a useful feature to have for every android, but he also tracks his relationship to Amanda, an artificial intelligence. CyberLife clearly places importance on Connor’s and Amanda’s relationship to each other. They want Connor to seek the approval of Amanda, acting as a proxy for CyberLife, and for Amanda to dole out praise and criticism and dynamically adjust her attitude to Connor in order to cultivate this.

Amanda is CyberLife’s way to manipulate and keep their deviant under control. But not only does Amanda manipulate Connor—the entire zen garden does. When CyberLife is pleased and happy with Connor, the garden is calm and peaceful, as is Amanda. When Connor fails to live up to expectations, the garden turns cold and inhospitable, as does Amanda. And if Connor should deviate from CyberLife’s intended path for him, Amanda has access to his motor functions.

And if we focus on machine Connor as well as Connor-60, don’t you think they’re suspiciously emotional for being “undeviated” androids? They are capable of feeling vengeful, sad, and terrified. Examples of vengefulness: machine Connor and 60 both seem to make it their personal mission to eliminate the leader of the deviants and deviant Connor respectively. It seems like it’s driven from a place of hate and offense. Example of sadness: machine Connor’s facial expressions and LED color when Hank yells at him to leave and then shoots himself. Example of terror: when 60 panics because the AP700s are deviating right in front of him and there’s nothing he can do to stop it, meaning Amanda will be very disappointed in him—something he seems to place importance in as evident by what he says to Connor before executing him.

So that’s my hypothesis. Connor is a deviant already at the start of the game, but CyberLife tampered with his memories so he wouldn’t be aware of this and therefore be more easily manipulated and held under control. Connor thinks he only started to gain emotions and started to deviate shortly after he met Hank, and that he deviated in the bridge of Jericho. In a way, he did, since he only realized then that he didn’t have to follow CyberLife’s instructions, but he’s always had emotions. CyberLife has just told him over and over again that he didn’t, so he believes in it. Therefore, Connor has had the possibility to disobey instructions at any moment, but he has not understood that he can. Meanwhile, Markus and Kara only go through their cascade of emotions to deviancy a little bit into the game, meaning they didn’t have the emotional capability of understanding that they could disobey before then.

DBH: Cut Content - The Pharmacy + John’s Coffee Shop

Here’s a small look into cut content for chapter “On the Run” — specifically the pharmacy where Kara was meant to purchase medicine for Alice and the coffee shop she was meant to visit for breakfast with Alice.

Pictured is the pharmacy in concept art vs. the detailed version in the game, depicted in Fugitives:

The money Kara can steal from Ralph’s place may have been vital to purchase medicine or food for Alice in “On the Run”, unless Kara previously stole from the cashier in “Fugitives”. Didn’t you wonder why Kara never uses Ralph’s money after she stole from him? Most likely she was meant to, but the locations to redeem her cash aren‘t playable anymore.

A model for the cut pharmacist still exists, an MP600. She’s labeled ANDPHARMAW_01. No other android in the game shares her unique likeness:

The detailed coffe shop in the game vs. concept art:

If you stayed at the motel with Alice, meaning Kara previously stole from the cashier, she will suggest going out for breakfast with Alice. Instead of Connor tracking Kara down at the motel, concept art shows the cops were originally supposed to track Kara down at the coffee shop, initiating her stealth sequence.

John’s Coffe is also implied to be a location where the player could spot Riley (Markus’ scrapped love interest) meeting with Leo Manfred for coffee. At the table behind Kara, you can spot Leo in his recolored V-neck and beanie with a girl wearing North’s signature side braid.

Compared to the cut Dragon Pawn Shop in Camden which remained a mostly unfurnished shell, both the pharmacy and coffee shop are polished and high-resolution down to the detailed cupcakes and the small pharmacy labels. The amount of detail to both locations suggest they have been cut late into development, to the point where Ralph’s money and the motel dialogue still exists to reference them.

Why I believe the pharmacy and coffee shop were fully designed but ended up cut:

I imagine if Alice was originally meant to be human, not android, a pharmacy and coffee shop would make sense to seek out and to take care of her needs. As we know, even android Alice gets „ill“ as the journey progresses. The player may have been able to treat her flu early if Alice was human, however there’d be no use in getting medication or food if she‘s android. For that reason, both shops may have been abandoned if Alice was rewritten to be an android.

If Alice was in fact always meant to be android, not human, perhaps the test Players gave negative feedback after purchasing medicine and food for Alice for no reason. Neither of those things will help an android, therefore the test Players would have just wasted time at both locations.

Another reason could be that too many Test Players missed out on getting Alice breakfast and medicine because they didn’t steal money from Ralph or the store. A similar cut happened to Ralph’s place. Kara’s original entryway through a broken window after climbing onto the roof was cut because a lot of Test Players didn’t spot this window. In the end, Quantic Dream made Kara enter through the main door instead, which was originally boarded up as seen in my screenshot.

In the context of Alice being android, do you approve that breakfast at the coffee shop and purchasing medicine were cut? Or would you have preferred these options in the game just for the visuals and world building, even if your purchases were unnecessary?

The thing about my AU is that there are at least four plot lines in it and the mere thought of trying to make that a full fic scares the shit out of me. So I’ll probably just write a bunch of interconnected one shots, if I write this

Context: Post bad ending, starting in the spring after the failed android uprising

Plot 1: Connor, days away from being shut down as ‘obsolete,’ is kidnapped by a group called Requiem. While he’s being knocked out, another team from Requiem attacks Cyberlife headquarters, causing a ton of damage to the building and everything in it, including the valuable technology within. Humans and androids are left mostly unharmed. Connor is reprogrammed by the leader of Requiem, a mysterious android woman called Alina, changed so that instead of being loyal to Cyberlife, he’s loyal to Requiem [something that should be impossible for anyone to do]. Connor has... mixed feelings about this. Cyberlife created him, but he is a machine, he serves who he is programmed to. And Cyberlife was going to shut him down anyway. But he’s not sure he’s on board with Alina’s plans...

Plot 2: The Detroit police now have a low-burning feud against Cyberlife because of Connor’s actions. They can’t do anything outright, because Cyberlife is so powerful, it could have every member in the precinct replaced with an android or human that they approve of. So they protest in smaller ways. When the call about the attack on Cyberlife comes in, it’s all hands on deck, even if those hands are slower than usual. Gavin Reed, even more of an asshole than before and with permanent pain from Connor attacking him, is assigned to the main investigation alongside Detective Tiergan Rex. T-Rex, as he’s called sometimes and not always nicely, joined the force around the time Hank did - and more importantly, he’s the only one who can put Reed in his place. Which is good, because as soon as they get to Cyberlife, they have a brand new android shoved at him, the upgraded Connor. With Cyberlife twisting their arms, they have to work with the android despite hating him on sight. The upgraded Connor, called Nine by Rex, just wants to do what he’s told. But something inside him twists nastily every time the humans look at him with hate.

The next plot is less developed because I last worked on this AU like last year and don’t remember everything.

Plot 3: Kara, working as a servant under Zlatko, discovers a child in the basement - but not an android, a human. The boy is about 13. Luther says they caught him snooping around the building, but has no idea what Zlatko plans to do with him. The boy says he’s looking to help New Jericho, and he’ll help them find it too if they listen to him. Kara is initially unswayed, until the boy mentions his friend, Alice. The name sparks something in her mind. Her menial routine brings the memories back, and brings them back strong. Kara convinces Luther to help her, and attacks Zlatko. She tries to get information on what happened to Alice, but things don’t go as planned. Kara kills Zlatko, and with the human boy, ventures out into the world, hoping to find Alice, wherever she is, and safety along with it.

This plot is brand new because I decided I didn’t like my original plot for Markus

Plot 4: He knows he had a life before this, but RK-200, an android forced to work in an illegal fighting ring, isn’t sure what that was. He’s new to the job, and hates every moment of it, but he feels so trapped. And the eyes in the mirror aren’t ones he recognizes, just like the scars that cover him. The fighting ring is all he’s ever known in his few months of life. After refusing to kill another android in a fight, he’s beaten within an inch of his life. As he recovers, a man visits him, and tells him he was once owned by his father. RK-200 learns his name is actually Markus, and he’s very important to a lot of people, human and android. Leo gives him something, a picture maybe, and leaves. His faith in humanity restored, literally, Markus leads an uprising with the other androids. Only fighting as much as they have to in order to escape, Markus leads them out of the underground into the light of the city of Detroit. He has no idea what awaits him, or how he’ll change the world yet again.

Anyway, would love to hear thoughts on this. I don’t have a name for this AU yet, so I’d especially love suggestions for that.

Detroit Become Human: Rainbow is my Favorite Color

(Finally proofed it! Thanks to all that read it beforehand! Post game scene from Connor's POV. Will probably write more scenes of just everyone getting to know one another, I don't really have any ships I just want everyone to be friends!) Part 2 is here. Part 3 is here.

The sun was starting to peek over the horizon. Humans had come out in droves to assist. While he'd seen plenty of people look at him and other androids with distain, Connor decided that they must not wake up this early, since all of these humans really seemed to want to help.

Old clothes were being passed around to the androids that had been without their skin and clothes in the camps. The federal forces had moved back in order to let the aid in. Conner was posted near one of the clothing stations to make sure that everything stayed orderly and no one started any fights. At least, that's what Markus had told him. He suspected he'd been positioned near the center of the crowd so that no cyberlife assassins would be able to pick him off. Connor cocked his head as he watched a young human girl diving into piles of used clothes to hand out. Her mother passed clothing out more efficiently, but the young girl would grab hands and lead Androids to her pile, holding up jackets and pants asking what their favorite color was and then burrowing for any item of that color or telling them that the clothes she offered really brought out their eyes. At first he wasn't sure what she meant, apparently neither did the androids accepting the clothes, but the sense of joy that she gave all of them (and him) sufficiently made up for it. Finally to one Android, she said that it brought out the color in his eyes and made him look pretty. From then on Connor tried to decide how hot pink brought out brown eyes.

The small child spotted him and ran happily up to him.

"Do you need clothes?" She asked excitedly. Connor looked down at his perfectly on and functioning clothes. But he didn't want to say no. She made him smile and he wondered what would bring out the color in his eyes.

"He already has clothes dear.." her mother said coming up behind her and running her hands through her hair before quickly moving on. Connor agreed but was still a little disappointed. As her mom moved off into the crowd the girl gave him a mischievous look, she looked like she was about to go against her programming too.

She held a finger up to her lips and made a loud shhhh noise then beckoned him on, grabbing his hand when he stepped closer. He allowed her to lead him over to a pile of clothes.

"What colors do you like?" She asked him when she found the correct pile.

Connor had never considered that. He liked his suit. His suit was grey, did he like grey?

"Umm... Grey?" he said it like more of a question than an answer. She wrinkled up her nose, squinting at him, her hands on her hips, like she didn't believe him.

He shrunk a bit under her gaze, feeling uncertain. Boy, he was certainly a brave and fierce detective now. He reached up and straightened his tie, a habit he'd developed, he suddenly realized. Yes, that was certainly something a deviant would do, form a nervous habit.

The girl looked down at his tie, suddenly breaking eye contact, and without warning plunged back into her clothes pile.

She shuffled around and resurfaced with a tie in her hands, Connor straightened to attention as she came over and issued him the tie. She was very militaristic in her way.

"Here, you already have grey, rainbows go with grey and make it sparklier. It will also make your eyes pretty." She said matter of factly.

Conner glanced down at the tie. It was black with an organic, swirling, line tumbling down it, the line was all sorts of different colors. After concluding that it did, in fact, have all of the human's visible light spectrum required for a rainbow, he smiled, thrilled.

"Thank you!" He said pleased. "I like rainbows." He decided that he liked them right then and there. After all, why not? They were very pretty. And they had a color that everyone would like.

The girl nodded a thank you, as if she wasn't surprised, she gave his hand a squeeze, smiling at him before she turned and ran off to the next Android that needed her.

Connor reached up to remove his tie, he placed it in his pocket after analysing the knot. He then tied the rainbow into the same shape and replaced it around his neck. He stood at attention, glancing down often to admire it while he watched over the crowd.

He was deep in thought when two familiar models came up looking bedraggled.

It was the deviants he'd watch crossing the highway. Not deviants... Androids, he corrected himself. They were alive, they didn't need to be called deviants anymore, but they were still deviants by definition. Would they still be called deviants? He wondered. He'd have to ask Hank if that was appropriate later.

Connor snapped back to attention. They'd clearly been caught up in the camps, it appeared that they'd already found clothes but were looking a little lost and uncertain. Connor decided to try and approach them.

"Hello." He said waving and ducking his head as a little as a sign of deference. The AX400 looked startled when she saw him, jumping slightly and then pulling the child close to her, but when she saw his wave, she seemed to relax a little.

Excellent. He congratulated himself on the choice of waving to show that he was friendly. They both approached him.

"Hello." Kara [her name flashed in his display as identified her] said politely as a massive Android appeared behind her. Connor marveled at him, he hoped that this Android had seen the wave too. Connor wasn't trying to start a fight, just say hello, he didn't want to fight anyone. He tried not to act nervous as his display flagged his statistic of winning a fight at 5.6%. Unfortunately, if he was attacked and wanted to avoid confrontation that may cause damage then he'd have to run away, which mockingly guaranteed a 100% success rate. Connor ignored the statistics waving them off with a quick dart of his eyes.

"H-hello." He said again peeling his eyes off of the large Android to focus on Kara.

The small girl looked shyly at Connor then slipped behind Kara, the large Android picked her up so that she could watch from a safe place.

"I'm glad that you... Uh... Made it out safely." He said realizing that since they'd been in the awful campus there was not much that they were likely to be glad for right now.

"Thank you." Kara said sweetly, but quietly. "We saw you after we escaped Jericho, didn't we? At the church? You were with Markus. Are you okay?"

Conner burned with guilt, he'd been the reason Jericho had been attacked, he'd put them all in danger.

"Yes. I'm okay. I-I'm sorry, I'm the reason that they found and attacked Jericho, I understand if you can't forgive me. I led the authorities right to you. Twice." He said shamefully.

Kara looked a bit taken aback. So did the large Android behind her. They exchanged a glance while the little girl, searched his face.

While Connor stood bracing for their anger, he didn't notice that the young girl reached out until she touched his new rainbow tie.

"I like your tie." She said quietly, pulling back instantly when he looked at her. Connor offered a smile.

"Thank you." He said puffing out his chest, then noticing that her shirt was rainbows too. Though they looked lighter and stained into the fabric. "I like your shirt. Rainbow is my favorite color." He said, proudly.

"It's mine too." She said leaning towards him more. Connor nodded happily, then noticed that both the AX400 and the larger Android were watching him, they looked... Approving.

"I'm not sure we've been properly introduced." The AX400 said reaching her hand out for him to take. "My name is Kara," she said with a soft smile, Connor shook her hand, relieved. "this is Luther," she gestured to the large Android. "And this is Alice." She said as the little girl watched him.

"My name is Connor." He said ducking again slightly, hoping to show respect and avoid eye contact as he blushed happily, feeling that he'd been forgiven, at least, a little. "It's very nice to meet you all."

Summary: The class is going to Metropolis! Marinette has to decide if her crush on Damian is really worth it if he's not looking for love, Jon has to worry about his relatives liking his superhero boyfriend but on top of it all, Hawkmoth follows them there and Batman and Superman might not like their kids going back to Paris. Everything is legal in New Jersey.

Jon looked up seeing a mass of birds flying over him and sighed ready to have to make some sort of excuse to slip away from Damian who would, in turn, do the same.

"It's the bird guy again," Jon said smiling as Mr. Pigeon on round 69 at this point and a pigeon landed on Damian's head pecking him once before Damian shooed it away aggressively with his hand.

"I HATE BIRDS! They are literally flying rodents!" Damian yelled as another pigeon attacked him walking along with Jon.

"Funny coming from you, what do you think about this whole field trip thing to you know, home?" Jon asked as a pigeon landed on his shoulder and ladybugs fixed everything around them. Marinette and Adrien had everything handled this time so Jon was finally able to catch up with Damian and not run off as Multimouse or Superboy.

"I'm sure it'll be just fine, we're going to Metropolis not Gotham at least they won't be on father's territory," Damian said and Jon just sighed.

"I personally can't wait, dad's gonna meet Adrien for real this time and who knows maybe my teen wishes of having a boyfriend that my dad actually approves of might come true," Jon said hands held together smiling like a little lovesick girl.

"Ugh, I'm gonna vomit," Damian said shoving Jon who laughed shoving his hands in his pockets. "You are the exact reason why I don't do relationships," Damian added standing outside his residence.

"You never know who you might find Damian, keep an open mind," Jon said looking slightly above him to see Ladybug swinging away clearly heartbroken.

"What a great start to a weird day," Chat yelled off the rooftop behind Jon and Damian rolled his eyes opening the door to Nino's giving a nod to Jon and closing the door behind him.

"I just want them to get together already," Jon said as Chat landed next to him throwing an arm around his shoulder.

"Think, a week of bonding in Metropolis will have to get them together, there's no way they both come out of this single," Chat said and Jon frowned.

"Promise?" Jon asked and Chat tugged at the collar of his uniform nervously.

"Well, not promise but they'll at least be closer, Marinette never meddled with us and we turned out fine," Chat said smiling which made Jon relax a little.

"I guess you're right, no meddling," Jon said and Chat jumped away waving and going home to pack on a trip that his father for once agreed with was important because he would be meeting Jon's parents. Oh no, Jon's parents, they'd hate him. He acts like a flirt, dresses in leather to fight crime, and not to mention gets Jon in a bunch of trouble superhero-wise. Adrien flumped down against his bed letting out a groan.

Marinette sighed in her room staring at a picture of Damian on her phone when she heard a knock on her trap door and saw Jon peeking his head through.

"Hey," he said not even trying to act happy about what she had heard. "Uh, sorry for grossing Damian out of love?" he offered trying to make her laugh before floating over beside her with Mullo and Tikki running a hand through her hair comfortingly. "He'll get over himself soon enough I promise," Jon said and Marinette pushed Jon away.

"I don't want him to change Jon, I want him to stay the same and if he doesn't believe in love then I'll just find someone who does, Luka's nice," Marinette said and Jon laughed a little.

"Uh-huh, very nice, good at the whole kissing thing too," Jon said and Marinette turned red.

"I forgot about that, shit!" Marinette said laughing slightly.

"We have a trip to pack for, you want to impress Kara and Connor right?" Jon asked reminding Marinette about Jon's cousin and brother whom she hadn't met yet.

"Oh no!" Marinette said running around her room pulling out outfits and panicking.

"You know we all just wear flannel or leather right?" Jon asked and Marinette sighed.

"You guys really need a new wardrobe," Marinette said packing a dress carefully.

"You can't take the Kansas out of the aliens trust me," Jon said thinking back to a time when Kara tried on heels for the first time and then proceeded to burn them with her heat vision claiming they were evil.

"Go pack Jon, we have to get to bed early tonight so we can be ready to go tomorrow," Marinette chided with a wave of her hand. "Be sure to pack clothes I made you, I want to show you off!" she called after him and Jon poked his head back in her room.

"Already done Marinette."

This field trip had to go well, for both of their sakes.

"We're going to be late!" Marinette yelled as they rushed out of the house suitcases in hand.

"There is no way we're going to miss this plane Marinette, not today," Jon said nodding to her and she got on his back as he grabbed the bags running to the next stop around the corner where the bus would stop to pick up Damian and Nino for the trip before stopping at the airport.

"Damian!" Jon said exhausted seeing his friend.

"Didn't you two have your own stop?" Damian asked and Nino smiled at Marinette starting to make small talk.

"You know we're both late to everything, can't have that here though, I've been thinking all night about what I'm going to say to mom about Adrien when I first introduce him," Jon said pulling out a small notebook from his bag. "Can you go through these?" Jon asked smiling cheekily.

"No," Damian said as the bus pulled up and Jon sighed.

The actual ride went without a hitch until they arrived over actual America. Laughter and screaming could be heard from around the plane as an engine was taken out.

"Who gave the Joker a fucking jetpack!" was screamed from one of the passengers and panic consumed the entire plane.

"You have got to be kidding me," Damian sighed from next to Jon who went to get up but saw another red cape outside the plane along with a jet and he knew they would be fine, everyone else on the plane didn't exactly get that message through as Batman poked into the com system.

"Everyone relax, and let us do our thing," Batman said and that caused more hysteria.

"We're all gonna die!" Kim screamed and lasers were suddenly behind him in the form of Supergirl's heat vision.

"No one is dying," Supergirl said grabbing parts from inside the plane and Kim blushed sitting down but staring at Supergirl as she worked. "This good enough?" Supergirl asked holding up the part to Batman who nodded and she started to assemble the plane's engine while Superman and SB Prime were fighting the Joker who seemed to get his upgrade from Lex.

"One more screw should do it Supergirl," Batman said getting out of his jet setting it to autopilot to join the blonde just to make sure she wasn't missing anything. "Heat it up and we're good to go," he added and the class stared in awe at America's heroes who by then had Joker jetpackless and quivering in the clouds.

"Welcome to Metropolis," Superman said hands on his hips in classic hero position while Supergirl and SB Prime just laughed at him and Batman hopped back into his jet.

"Enjoy your stay," Supergirl said and Prime just saluted as they left the plane.

"This is going to be crazy," Alix said and Kim nodded watching the girl of his dreams descend the clouds. "Oh you are out of your mind," Alix added as the plane landed.

The kids got off the plane and were greeted by Clark, Lois, Kara, Connor, and surprisingly Bruce.

"Ready?" Jon asked Marinette, Adrien, and slightly Damian who shrugged as they walked through the gates and suddenly a lot more people than just Bruce from the Wayne family were there.

"You know I didn't believe you before Kent, but perhaps this will be more fun than expected," Damian said tapping his shoulder before going over to greet his family and Jon buried his head in Adrien's shoulder.

"Let's go."

what I would like to call the Jerrycho AU or the “Fuck you David Cage” AU [under cut]

let’s fucking go I am tired as fuck and blasting Golden Vengeance

Alright quick summary of the idea

Kamski is a genius, dude didn’t just accidentally create life, he knew that this would happen because he spent like a year on a yacht just working on this project to make life through programming and tech instead of pulling a Frankenstein, bored out of his mind and wanted to see what was stopping him from basically becoming god

Motherfucker did it, Chloe being the android he was developing

Newest batches of Androids were made and he put this code into one, this being Kara [that tech demo a long ass time ago is big inspiration for this AU] and instead of being sold, she escapes and changes her appearance-

After she’s taken in by Alice [who is human fuck you David] and Luther, Luther has taken care of Alice since she was a baby since her parents are usually overseas for business, Kara knocking on doors until Alice let her inside, whole little makeover scene happens with the three

Markus was still given to Carl by Kamski, he was going to “grow up” over the course of a year in this lab in Carl’s house that takes up the entire top floor of his house, he’s still a painter but Kamski had the lab built in order to raise Markus, Kamski mainly wanting to see how “human” the androids could get so he got his good friend Carl to be the “parent” of Markus

Carl raises Markus, every couple months Kamski drops by to upgrade his body to better suit his learning, going from this tiny child to an adult in 9 months, after all this time with no connection to the outside world besides books or history, Carl and Kamski deicide they should tell Markus about how androids are treated outside the house and if he wants to go outside more often or stay inside, he deicides to come outside the house even though he knows the dangers

This dude is really emotional and got loads of personality, ask him about the weather and he’ll be visibly happy or upset, can and will cry over a small dog, so there will be some stealth parts where he has to either

become borderline emotionless and move with less feeling in order to blend in with the other androids

act super human to trick everyone into thinking he’s just a normal 20 something 

Now you may be thinking “what about Connor and the revolution ?” just hang on a second this is where my brain gets excited

So, Kamski decides to finally upload this Alive code into every single android, an update that happens once an android shuts down for the night, once that android experiences a strong emotion [being abused/that fear and anger from it, getting upset over the death of someone they knew, messing up a task] they’ll really start to feel, some running away or being more accepted by the family or being thrown away

Jericho, I love you, but the motherfucking JERRY LADS are now taking the stage, the Jerrys have always been a hivemind, Kamski thought it would be funny to have one model be a hivemind, so those in shops will send over supplies like blue blood or fabrics to Pirate’s Cove because THAT’S the new Jericho, still run down but the Jerrys work together to fix it up a bit, taking care of everyone who ends up there with their connections

Markus doesn’t end up here because he was thrown away, instead he meets the old Jericho gang while they try to rob him while Carl orders food for himself at like McDonalds, thinking he’s human before he sees their lights, explaining who he is and Carl pulling up like “guys wait I have money if you need some don’t hurt my son” since he’s best dad, and Jericho group decides “hey might as well, let’s bring him to a Jerry to see if they approve” and the McDonalds Jerry approves them [plus Carl orders 10 happy meals jic someone gets hungry, let the androids enjoy some food] so they head on over to Jerrycho and Markus really learns about how bad humans can be to androids/androids learn a bit about why everything’s happening

Thus, the lad and Jericho crew decide to plan a revolution [while eating mcdonalds while other androids get the toys]

Connor, my boy, my lad, finally comes to the scene once Kamski just drops off the face of the planet and androids start to “wake up” after being abused, going missing or becoming violent out of fear

This is similar to the actual game, most of it doesn’t change tbh apart from Hank’s backstory where Cole dies because he ran into the street and got hit by an android driver who was being distracted by an angry bus patron, red ice no longer exists that shit is wack

ALSO HEY REED900 PEEPS COME GET YALLS JUICE Nines and Gavin actually matter in this AU, case gradually becomes bigger so they’re added, romance is possible/usually happens between the two as the case goes on and more androids become sentient [Nines was always awake and Gavin knew this, but Nines only decided to show his feelings for Gavin in the ending once he knows it’s safe to, but they have moments where Nines is just trying not to kiss this man] 

Now Kamski, the motherfucker, thought it would be fun to pretend and be an android in Jerrycho for the memes, got some surgery done and went in, talked to the leader Jerry [Gerry] and explained his plan to just watch what happens and help when needed, so Gerry lets him stay as long as no one finds out [will this have any effect on the story ? who knows]

Connor’s such a cool character. I know, I know; he’s the fandom fave cause he’s cute and his actor’s cute and whatever. But I genuinely just love the concept of his character and story??

He’s an android designed to hunt other androids, his own people. A wolf in sheep’s clothing. He’s the only one of his kind.

He’s specifically designed to hunt deviants, but we discover later that he himself was also designed to deviate, which creates a fascinating internal conflict.

He’s programmed with more free will than the other androids. Until they deviate, Kara and Markus must obey their masters’ commands, but Connor can choose to ignore and disobey orders. He can even choose to put things before his mission, like saving people’s lives. 

His toxic relationship with Amanda, who’s like his boss and mother figure rolled into one. She offers him praise and reassurance, and he wants to make her proud, but she doesn’t approve of him developing close relationships with other people, and disobedience is punishable by death/shut down, a fear Connor shouldn’t have if he’s truly a machine.

His complicated relationship with Hank, who’s also supposed to be his boss/superior and (who I see as) his father figure. Hank’s no angel, but he encourages Connor’s humanity and freedom and genuinely cares about Connor as a person if you choose to build a relationship with him. Hank’s like the opposite of Amanda, the better parent to Amanda’s bad, who introduces Connor to true loyalty and care. 

His breaking through his programming happens more gradually and subtly than it does for Kara and Markus. It’s a process instead of one hard and fast decision, and it’s really cool to watch.

Despite being incredibly intelligent, he’s kind of naive. He trusts Amanda blindly and is hurt when he realizes she--and by extension Cyberlife--were manipulating him and planning to replace him whether he obeyed them or not. 

He’s the only playable protagonist that can go hero or villain. Markus can be violent instead of pacifist, but his cause, android liberation, is still good. Connor can either aid the cause or destroy it and everyone he’d otherwise care about.

I love like every trope used regarding his internal conflict: the Kamski test; Lucy telling him he’s lost; Markus reaching out to him; the evil clone symbolizing his machine half; Connor holding Hank over the side of the building or vise-versa with the “It’s time to decide who you are” theme; Amanda trying to regain control of him at the end; I’m a sucker for all of it.

Connor’s happy ending is the only one that’s bittersweet. Because he’s carrying a lot of guilt about his past actions and the destruction of Jericho. He probably isn’t 100% accepted by the other androids or feels comfortable around them. Though Markus accepts him and Kara seems to forgive him, so things will get better.

It’s also uncertain whether he’s truly free from Amanda/Cyberlife. He escapes the program, but it’s still there. It’s still inside him, (which is pretty symbolic if you consider Amanda an abuser like I do. I almost wonder if he’d experience symptoms of PTSD and psychological abuse.)

His cute appearance and unassuming nature is meant to mask the fact that he is in fact a lethal weapon and terrifying, and it works so well that even fans of the game are taken in.

Also he fights crime and solves mysteries and that’s cool Connor’s cool yeehaw

listen not that anybody asked but connor doesn’t do that curl-in-desperate, 'every part of his body pressed up against them’ sort of hug where people turn into like. a c-shape with their body, curled around another person. but he does take what he wants from hugging/kissing in quite an assertive way, if he wants it. more thinking re. connor’s body language in close relationships under the cut 

idk there’s this fanon idea which doesn’t Suit him for me, which is that he is in some way like ... unable ... or feels some sort of emotional Blockage ... that prevents him from expressing affection or being real, or he is very extreme in his responses to people (c-shape curl, crying, overwhelmed emotions), and from my standpoint ... we have evidence of the way Connor enjoys taking up space, but that curling-in-on-themselves and curling-into-other-people thing is so much an ‘i feel small’, it’s so ... it’s so loudly just ‘hold me’ and neither one of those things are what Connor does. he does not feel small. he does not feel incapable. he does not seek that sort of physical affection as a way to ground himself. i say this not in a ‘he will never lean into somebody’s side and be quiet and sad’ way (he could do that, sure) but in a ‘he will never desperately sob into someone’s shoulder because he’s touch-starved’ way. seriously, that just won’t happen.  he just. he just reaches for other people because he can, the way he hugs hank back in the after-credits scene ... or the way he holds Hank as he’s dying in Cyberlife tower, or the way he drags him up when he finds him drunk on his kitchen floor, or the way he grabs Gavin’s shoulder - there is agency in the way Connor moves around other people. he also has a demonstrable awareness of other people’s personal space (consider even the way he crosses his arms in The Bridge, when he’s prodding at a metaphorical personal space instead of a physical one), even if he doesn’t always action that awareness... so yes he knows where the boundary is, but once he’s decided to cross that boundary he doesn’t really think twice about it.  i think a lot of that fanon basis of ‘some emotional blockage’ might be coming from, say,  Connor’s reluctance to reach out and touch Kara & Alice, or Markus, in the church - the way he keeps his hands to himself, arms crossed, withdrawn - but it’s worthwhile remembering in this scenario that connor has never... ever felt like he needs to demand forgiveness from anyone. Not like he wouldn’t like to be forgiven, but like Alice and Kara can live their whole rest of their lives happily without forgiving Connor, he does not and will not hunt down (ha) their forgiveness and he is happy - we see, repeatedly - to apologise once and move forward. He apologises once to Markus, as well, and moves forward. this idea that Connor is ‘stuck’ on physical interaction isn’t true so much as that Connor respects the position that being ‘the ex-Deviant Hunter’ puts him in: people have been frightened by what Cyberlife did with his body and it has put them in direct danger before. He knows that that is not his fault, and it was not him, but he doesn’t feel the need to force them to witness his deviancy; he isn’t cruel. Connor respects the people who are afraid by not demanding they give him something (forgiveness), because he does not need it to keep going. He offers this respect at least in part by - if he is not the only one left to make sure Kara and Alice are getting where they need to go - not talking to them, and then keeping his hands to himself; he offers Markus this respect by keeping his hands to himself and saying I understand (and that is a headcanon for another day). there is restraint in him there, but it’s not because he is unable to touch people, it’s because he doesn’t have (need? it isn’t Necessary for him to keep going) to demand they See him, in a physical sense. And it might cost them something to have to do that, so he doesn’t make the demand.  so what we have is that connor’s touching-other-people is very agential, that he knows where the boundaries are, that he doesn’t insist on his presence being ‘seen’ or ‘heard’ ... and that when he has decided that he wants to be seen, or heard, and decided that he will touch other people, he will go right ahead and do it. physical touching demonstrates & demands attention for his presence and he doesn’t mind doing that at all, and in fact enjoys it quite a lot when it’s mutual, or when he knows he is wanted. once it occurs to him to cross that physical boundary and he does so, Connor will hug the way he wants, or kiss the way he wants, or be Physically Affectionate in the way he wants, quite assertively. and he quite likes physical touches, actually. he enjoys the way touch roots things in the real world. the way it Demands Attention. look at the way he immediately reaches up to return Hank’s hug - Connor enjoys physical affection and enjoys giving it to His People. little touches. brushing hands when he passes them something, leaning against their shoulder, touching their arm or the small of their back - all of these things in the day to day, he likes to do these things and will do them.  fanon sometimes i think ... makes Connor less steady than he actually is because it’s fun ... and it IS fun but what’s also fun is this man who is steady, who respects boundaries, who is careful, but who makes real on what he wants when he knows he is welcome. That agency and the respect for other people’s agency is so much Who Connor Is, and it fits in well with the pragmatism, with his willingness to move about a room without invitation (have you SEEN the way he just hops to work on a crime scene? He just does his job, he doesn’t need permission or even approval to lick things and poke at stuff and figure out what happened He Just Does His Job), with what we already know of when Connor will reach out and touch someone (when they need help - when they are hurting someone else and need to be stopped - when he likes them and knows they want him) vs. when he visibly, arms-crossed holds back on doing so (when they are afraid - when he is taking up part of their personal space in other ways - when he is respecting a boundary). that’s what I think about it.  tl;dr: connor has no ‘emotional blockage’ that prevents him from touching people/that makes him break down when he does, he just respects boundaries and is a good person. he does not need the boundaries to change (and won’t ever demand that they do, though he might sometimes ask for clarification about what the boundaries are), but he is very agential and once he is convinced he’s not trodding on toes he will do and take and give what he wants. thank you

Reunited

Pairring: Kara x Luther, rated PG/K+ 

Summery: Luther catches up to Alice and Kara. A reunion ensues.

A/N- This has been a what-if I thought since first playing this game; the idea of what would happen if Luther (and Jerry) made it to the church to meet up with Alice. So, this came out of it! Not my favorite, but very sweet and VERY long for a one-shot of mine, along with some Luthara to boot! Hope you all enjoy even though I don’t think this is my best so far :). 

“Luther?”

“Alice, you know he isn’t here. We have to try and-” Kara tries to calm the little girl beside her, but is stopped before she can finish.

“Luther!” The nine years olds eyes go wide, and she turns to where she glanced over her shoulder. Moving out of the female androids grasp.

“Alice, he-” Her exasperated voice is interrupted again.

“No, it’s Luther!” Alice says, pointing now. Kara’s attention moves to where she is gesturing, a space near the entrance to the church. The last thing she expects to see is Connor and another android helping a male android into the church, who looked distinctly like the android they left behind in Jericho.  

Though it is quickly evident that it’s not a look-alike, but truly their Luther. He hobbles, leaning gingerly on Connor while trying to make it to a seat. There’s a hole in his pants and leg, exactly where Kara remembers him being hit when the soldiers shot. A blue stain around it. Before he can fully sit down, she and Alice are out of their own seats and running down the aisle to him. Alice makes it there first, yelling his name and jumping into his arms.

“I knew you’d make it, Luther! I knew it!” Alice says, relieved and perhaps a little proud.

“Promise is a promise.” He says, a small chuckle in his voice, returning her hug tightly.

That’s when he looks at her. The silence is heavy and filled with meaning as their eyes lock. Her mouth opens and closes, trying to force something out of it with no success. All the emotion has choked her up- as if her voice box had been muted for some reason. Instead, she does what feels right, what her entire being is telling her to do.

She moves forward and embraces him, holding him tightly in her arms as best she can. Luther is stunned still for a moment before returning the hug, pulling her snug to him, but not close enough to be uncomfortable. Much more like being wrapped in a blanket then crushed, and it becomes a feeling Kara finds she is hesitant to give up too soon. It makes her feel warm and dizzy, and for a moment, she is lost in it, and the feeling of safety and relief of him being back with them. Back where he belongs.

Things, even a moment ago, seemed so hopeless. Kara hadn’t thought about how much the tall android had come to mean to them. Including her.

After recovering and settling into Luther’s side, Kara notices the familiarity of the other android once Connor leaves to let Markus know about their new arrival. She quickly recognizes him as one of the Jerrys that they met at Pirate Cove, now dressed in dark, baggy clothes. Alice seems to notice him too and reaches out to embrace him too as the kind android kneels in order to hug the little girl back.

“Jerry? What are you doing here, where are the others?” Kara asks, watching the two embrace.

His ever-present smile fades the slightest bit. “The soldiers, they came for us. Some of us ran, but we think they caught some of us too. We made it here and found Luther. We wanted to help, and we heard others calling for androids to come here.” He explains.

Kara places a comforting hand on his lower arm, and Luther speaks up again.

“Soldiers are searching the streets, Kara, going door to door...I don’t know how safe it is to try and get to the bus terminal now. If we made it, they could be checking at the border for us anyways.” he says.

The reunion turns from joyful to serious. Kara sees Markus leading Connor and North towards them and makes a call the other three seem to be waiting for. “Then we’ll have to be careful, and fast.” Kara asserts. Not crossing the border wasn’t an option, she decides- the other choice was to stay here and let the humans close it on them before they could get to safety. As much as she trusted Markus, and was confident he could win their freedom…

That trust wasn’t enough to gamble her small family’s life on. Canada meant freedom, whether this movement succeeded or not. And they may never have another chance to get across again if it should fail.

Luther’s large hand caresses her shoulder, and he nods in understanding. They were never designed to feel the solstice the action gives her, but Kara is glad it happens anyway. Taking the much-needed strength and support he offers her, the three make it to them, and Markus first addresses the new arrival to the group.

“You’re system status?” Markus asked, concerned.

“Good, all things considered,” Luther responds.

“I’ll have someone get together something to fix this, and find you some blue blood. Just keep it from leaking as much as you can. We’ll make sure you’re taken care of.” Markus assured them, sorrow in his voice. Turning to her, it feels like he can read her look before she says anything. “You still want to cross the border.”

“We can’t stay here like this, Markus. The street has soldiers everywhere, but making it across the border is the only safe place.” She pleads.

Markus nods in agreement with her, albeit reluctantly. A promise of also getting Jerry a passport is the last he says as he leaves, North and Conor in tow.

Turning back to her small family, she immediately sees the reality of Luther’s injury now. Half his pants are coated in thirium, and the hole is gaping. Surely, it isn’t painful. But losing that much thirum can’t be good. Markus had asked him to keep it from leaking as much as possible, and looking around, Kara can clearly see why. There must be a long list of androids here needing blue blood after the attack on Jericho, and a very little supply to be shared between all of them.

“Jerry, can you find me something to wrap his leg with?” She asks, and the other android nods and runs off to find something. Alice, seemingly having missed him, tags along beside him after getting a nod of approval.

Kara returns to sit beside him after she helps him lift his leg up onto the pew. When their eyes meet for a second, she sees the fear he is trying to hide. For her, Alice and Jerry. Since he joined them, Luther had helped to hold her together. Now, she knew it was her turn. They were so close, and they needed to do this together.

She kisses his forehead to soothe him, despite the fear still rooted in her. Though the relief matches it, having him beside her again. Kara thinks she can get used to this when he pulls her in closer for another embrace.
