is there any chance you could do angst to fluff friends to lovers with chan with prompt 2? if not that’s ok 💕💕💕
thank you ❤️
Hi! Thank you for requesting, I kind of got a little carried away with the angst, sorry haha but please let me know what you think of it! <3
Click here to check out my prompt list.
In some way, you already knew this would happen.
Still, it made you terrified. It wasn't even the situation on its own, opening your door to him standing on the other side in the middle of one of the coldest nights of the year, looking so heartbroken and so confused that you can barely contain the need to embrace his body and confess all of the truth that, unbeknownst to him, has been eating you alive for the past few months. It was the aftermath of him learning about the secret you had tried so hard to keep hidden away, the one thing that could change absolutely everything between you two.
You fucked up, and you fucked up really bad.
Chan has been your closest friend for God knows how long at this point. You've shared so much of life together, seeing each other grow, experiencing new things, and learning about the intricacies of adult life and how complicated it is to simply exist sometimes. He was the one you always turned to—the one to drop everything and give you his complete attention when you needed to rant, the one to discuss your completely bizarre theories with, the one to call at the end of the day and share your random thoughts. The routine on nights like this would always be the same: both of you tucked under a pile of blankets on the floor of your living room, watching some sort of movie that neither of you knew anything about but decided on because the name or something in the poster was just so funny you couldn't ignore it. But it wasn't one of those nights, and it had been days since the last time he had even heard from you.
He didn't know.
And you didn't know, either. How could you even tell him how seeing him there made things so much harder than they already had been these last few weeks? How could you tell him that everything had changed, that the friendship you both adored and counted on so much would be completely ruined because your stupid, stupid heart decided to pick up on even the smallest of things he did? And now, after years of being his rock, his confidant, you betrayed it all by falling in love with him? You couldn't. It wasn't fair to him, it wasn't fair to you. It wasn't fair to the years and the secrets you shared with each other. It just wasn't.
And seeing him at your door, after you quickly brushed off all of his questions after accidentally picking up a call from him out of habit, you wanted to hide again. This is exactly what you have been doing since you noticed how your feelings changed towards him, after feeling your heart pick up astronomically as he simply laughed at a stupid video on his phone while you had dinner a few weeks ago. You hid away, rejecting calls, barely ever opening messages, and not answering any of them until you figured out a way to fix all of this.
What have I done? he asked so quietly you could have sworn your heart was sounding louder than his voice. His eyes searched for yours, silently begging for an explanation as to why you just left him so easily, why he's being cut away from your life all of a sudden. Please, you can't do this. Don't do this. Tell me what's wrong.
I love you, you think.
I don't know, you breathe out. You hate lying, hated lying to him even more, but it was for the best. It was easier to break your own heart than to break his.
Please don't lie to me. Please. His steps are so light and he moves so slowly you almost forget where you are. You can see his lips trembling a little, and he rubs his shaky hands as the night seems to get even colder. Can I come in? It's hard to speak. It's hard to think, even, and all you manage to do is step back as he makes his way in, barely even looking around. He doesn't go farther from the door, turning to look at you with a sort of emotion that you can't quite read on his face. What changed?
I love you. Your voice is barely there. It's hard to get it out, hard to even hear it in your own voice. The door is closed, yet your living room seems even colder than outside—you can feel his perfume and his shampoo and your heart breaking all at once and it's too much. I'm so sorry.
It's hard to look at him. It's hard to do anything, really, and your ears don't even seem to process any sound as he takes the last few steps in between you two. Somewhere in between his entrance, he took his shoes off, and as his socks come into your field of vision you notice you've been staring at the ground before you all this time.
No. Here it comes. Here's the feeling you've been avoiding for so long. Tell me to stop.
What? you know you're not sounding anywhere near stable right now.
Tell me to stop, please, or I won't be able to. It's cold inside but you can feel how warm he is, you can feel him right there, his hand searching for yours, his nose brushing against your cheek. It's so easy to get lost in it, so easy to give it all up just focusing on how his skin feels against yours as he plants a kiss on your temples, then another on your cheek, then one more on the corner of your lips. You need him there, you need him even more than you need to breathe, so you don't stop him and he doesn't stop either, finding your mouth with his and giving you exactly what you've been dreaming about all this time. It's unreasonably better than you could ever imagine, his hand suddenly cradling the back of your head as you completely melt into him.
And there's where you know everything has changed, but it doesn't terrify you anymore. Not when you can feel why he didn't even mind the cold outside, knowing damn well he must have walked all the way from his dorm to your door demanding an explanation as to why you disappeared from his life. That's when you know it all, when you can almost hear his heart beating inside his chest as you hold his face closer to yours.
That's when you know the complete truth—he loves you too.

what made u give Erwin a sister? jw
Ooooooo okay this is a good question!
So Erwin as we know him is pretty one-dimensional. I thought maybe this was a "Johnny Zest" situation where they give him lore but it just isn't reflected in the game (not via traits, family tree, or etc.) and you have to go looking for it. But after I did some research and even searched his tag here on Tumblr, I realized there really wasn't much more to him than what we were given. This is kind of unfortunate because in my mind he's got so much potential - he's this big open canvas with unconventional traits and behaviors that are somehow paired with a "heroic" disposition through trailers with 0 explanation as to why this is. Basically, it leaves you with more questions than answers: what is his motivation? Why and how did he come to Strangerville? Why does he care about this mystery? Being a textbook overthinker when it comes to people, I figured the only way to answer these questions was to create the "before" Erwin - the Erwin pre-Strangerville. Thus, his family was born!
His sister was actually the first thing I thought of when asking "Why is he the way he is." You'll see it a lot in my story, but Maggie is really complex - she's impulsive, explosive, reclusive, and unstable. However, Maggie is also compassionate and loves her little brother - she wants Erwin to be happy even if she thinks she can't be. She has a lot of mixed feelings toward her family, but not with Erwin. His love and admiration for her kind of makes him defensive and protective of her, because she has always shown him compassion and supported him openly. She's the first person he confided in about being trans, even before he knew what being "trans" was, and although her instability scared Erwin he always tried to see past that and focus on the best of her instead. That's just the tip of the iceburg really... but needless to say, once she goes missing he feels like he owes it to her to bring her home, and unlike everyone else who is willing to believe she might have taken her own life, Erwin just feels like that's not realistic because she was doing better, she was trying to be happy, and above all she'd never leave him without saying goodbye... not willingly at least. Despite the discouragement from his well meaning parents who don't want to lose another child, he decides to take matters into his own hands anyway and move to Strangerville** after high school - now there's a motive and a reason for the motive, if that makes sense.
**On a slightly related note, I want to clarify that in my story I depict "Strangerville" as a real place in the American southwest desert. Any "sim world" that I utilize in the story will actually be a community within a bigger place as opposed to being an independent "world." For example, Erwin grew up in Brindleton Bay, which I see as a small fishing town on the American northeastern coast - it resides within a state like Maine. Different places of origin will influence each character's upbringing and serve as an additional motivator for certain "quirks" they have - in Erwin's case, this serves the purpose of explaining one reason why he "sticks out" so much in Strangerville!
TLDR; I figured that Erwin needed a compelling reason for being involved in the Strangerville mystery, along with a reason why he was considered to be such an outcast to the locals because I wasn't satisfied with the near nonexistent reasoning EA provided (people don't just get involved in a life or death circumstance because of curiosity, but that's just how I see it lol). Plus, I believe everyone has a story, and I thought giving Erwin a more "complex" family dynamic would satiate my need for a motive AND give context to who he is and why!
Thank you for this ask! I hope everything makes sense; I wanted to avoid spoilers but also give you a clear and satisfying answer because this is a great question (and I love talking about my OCs as you all know 😉).

chris’ cum did, in fact, drip down your legs the entire night. it only took a bathroom trip and a shit ton of toilet paper to clean it up.
the music bumped inside of the house where the party was taking place. you found a spot outside on a quiet balcony, string lights hanging above it causing a dim glow. you leaned against the fence and admired the streets below you.
“mind if i join?” a voice interrupts your thoughts. you turn to the source, seeing chris standing there as handsome as ever with his hands inside the pockets of his dress pants.
you smile. “not at all.”
he walks over in front of you, placing his arms on either side of you on the railing. it’s as if you’re trapped, but you would do anything to have his arms around you again like they were hours ago.
no words are spoken for a while, only your guys’ eyes staring deeply into one another’s. “what’re you doing up here all alone? you doing okay?”
“yes, i’m fine. i can get a little overwhelmed with crowds and loudness. no big deal.”
his eyes scan to the straps of your dress. he takes two fingers and plays with it. “i like you, you know.”
you bite your lip as you watch his movements. “i can make you happy.” he continues.
“yeah?”
“yeah.”
“show me.”
he wraps his arms around your waist and pulls you into his embrace, kissing you passionately. this kiss felt way different than the one you guys shared in bed.
you snake your arms around his neck and try to push him closer. he takes his lips and leaves peppering kisses on your neck to your collarbone.
he moves the fabric of your dress ever so slightly just above your right breast. he kisses it and starts to suck a mark where nobody could see.
you moan softly. “chris.”
he kisses up your collarbone and neck again, resuming on your lips.
you are the first to pull away when you need to breathe, your lips red and swollen.
“i like you too.” he smiles at your words. “but what about nate?”
“what about me?”
chris moves as fast as light away from you and clears his throat. nate gives a skeptical look as he stands in the doorway. “why are you guys out here?”
“just chatting,” you reply, and chris agrees with a nod. he’s scared to talk because knowing him he’ll blurt out something he knows he shouldn’t.
“well we’re leaving.” nate starts. “meet us at the minivan.”
he leaves you two and it’s like a weight lifted from the simultaneous sighs of relief the two of you let out. chris smirks, grabbing your ass as he walks by to the exit.

“you fucked my best friend?” nate says with disbelief, his facial expression visibly showing surprise.
it was a few days later, and you finally had the guts to tell your brother the truth. you and chris are in the official talking phase of a relationship. you cringe and fidget with your fingers. “yes?” you answer but in a questionable way.
nate scoffs and shakes his head in disbelief. “but it’s not just that, nate. we’re talking now. he likes me, and i like him.”
“it’s only because i care about you, y/n.” he takes a deep breath. “i can’t control your choices. just don’t be stupid, alright?”
you smile sheepishly and nod. “i promise, big brother.” you squeal and throw yourself around him in a hug that silently screams ‘you’re the best!’
as you walk off, nate pulls out his phone and presses chris’ contact. he has a hand on his hip and taps his foot impatiently while the phone is ringing.
“hello?” chris says when he picks up.
“hurt her and i’ll kill you, you understand me?”
chris smirks. “ay ay captain.”

Hear me out on this one! A cute secret date turn relationship with Billy x fem reader. He doesn’t want people like his dad or Tommy getting in the way with his time with his girlfriend. You can write it however you pls!
Hope you like that idea, thank you 😊
Hiiiii!!! I’m sorry this sat in my inbox for so long!! I’m finally catching up on all of my requests, and this one is so cute! I really appreciate your patience, and I hope you like it! We're feeling fluffy with this one today 💕 | Master List 📖
Tumblr media
You weren’t sure what a date with Billy Hargrove would entail. You had heard the rumors about the new King of Hawkins High – how he took a different girl home every week, and his sleek, blue Camaro was permanently parked out at Lover’s Lake. You were shocked that Friday when you were alone in the auditorium running through light cues, and Billy approached you.
“Tommy’s not here,” you called to him as he walked down one of the aisles. Tommy Hagan had been charged with sweeping up the auditorium during the lunch hour for two weeks after playing what he thought was a harmless prank on a freshman on the basketball team, and you were sure Billy had come looking for him.
“Is it just you in here?” His question caught you off guard, but you tried not to let it distract you from your work.
“Yeah. Did you need something?” Billy sat down in the chair next to you, and you finally looked up from your stack of cue sheets to see his signature smirk and cerulean eyes, deep like the ocean. You could smell his spiced aftershave, a hint of cigarette smoke, and the cool aroma of winterfresh gum as he leaned in closer to you.
“I just came to see if you’re free tonight.” Billy smacked his gum as he rested an arm over the back of your chair, awaiting your answer. You froze, unsure if this was a mistake or some kind of cruel joke.
“What for?” You searched his expression for any clues as to what he might be thinking, but it was unchanging.
“To go out,” he answered nonchalantly. Your breath caught in your chest, and crimson heat crept up to your cheeks.
“Like…on a date?” He had to have noticed your blushing and the perplexing look on your face, but he kept his cool completely.
“Of course.” He beamed, his blinding smile causing your stomach to erupt into butterflies.
“With you?!” Billy’s exterior cracked slightly with that question. He looked offended, almost irritated, and he started to fidget with something in his pocket.
“Look, if you don’t want to –”
“No!” You cut him off in a hurry. “No, it’s not that at all. It’s just –” He looked intently into your eyes as you tried to find the right words to explain your bewilderment. “I guess I didn’t think I was really your type.”
Billy chuckled and looked down at his shoes before meeting your eyes once more. “Well, I guess there’s a lot you don’t know about me. I’ll pick you up at, say, 8 o’clock?” The voice in your head was screaming don’t do it; you know better, but everything else in your body reacted in the complete opposite fashion.
“Sure,” you agreed softly. Billy smiled once more before standing up from his chair, taking smooth strides toward the auditorium’s exit.
“See you tonight,” he called over his shoulder, never looking back. You heard the door close after him, and all you could do was stare wide-eyed at the wall while you tried to process what had just happened.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course he brought you to some random clearing in the woods. You were sure he was either about to murder you or try to get laid, and you couldn’t decide which one was worse. You assumed a date would occur somewhere conventional, like the movies, a restaurant, or the mall – not here at…an overlook? You tried not to let your apprehension show as Billy shifted his car into park.
“Well, here we are,” he declared, opening the driver’s side door and climbing out of the car into the chill of the starry night. You were surprised again when you heard the passenger door opening just a few seconds later, and he helped you out of your seat, steadying you on the uneven ground.
“Where is here, exactly?”
“I’ll show you; come here. And be careful. There’s a lot to trip over out here in the dark,” he warned. That didn’t make you feel any better about the possibility of being murdered, but you didn’t have much choice but to hold onto his arm as he led you to a guard rail at the top of the overlook.
“Wow,” you murmured. Every single light throughout the town of Hawkins was visible from where the two of you stood, and it was absolutely breathtaking. You had never seen so many shooting stars, and the deep navy sky was littered with sparkling clusters which were usually totally camouflaged under the umbrella of downtown’s streetlamps.
“You like it?” Billy sounded hopeful, like he actually cared whether his choice pleased you, and you nodded. He let out a small sigh of relief, and he slowly took your hand from his arm, interlacing your fingers together. The setting was more romantic than you had expected, and you couldn’t shake the nagging thoughts in the back of your mind that something was still amiss.
What if he had taken you here just so no one would see you together?
What if he was ashamed to be with you?
“Billy?” The anxiety in your voice must have been obvious because you felt him tense up beside you.
“What’s wrong?” he asked.
“Nothing at all,” you half lied. “This is amazing. It’s just – are you embarrassed to be seen with me?”
“What?” The hurt in his tone tugged on your heartstrings. “No…no, why would you think that?” His other hand covered the top of yours, and he turned to face you. You could hardly make out his features in the dim glow of the city lights below you, but you could feel his concern tainting the atmosphere.
“I guess I expected a date to be somewhere more public. And when you took me to a hideout in the mountains, I was worried it was because you didn’t want anyone to know we were together,” you admitted, avoiding his eye contact. His warm hands squeezed yours just a little tighter.
“Hey, look at me,” he soothed. “That’s not what this is. I didn’t want anyone to interrupt us. I wanted to be alone, just the two of us, so we could talk. You know, have real conversations. I’m so tired of my dad, my coaches, Tommy, Troy, and everyone else breathing down my neck, criticizing every decision I make.” Billy cupped the side of your face, grazing your cheek with his thumb. “I don’t want anyone getting in the way of something that could be really, really good for me.”
Your scarlet flush returned at his reassurance. You never would have dreamed Billy could be so gentle, so emotional. But he wanted to be here with you, marveling at this beauty, and it was the start of something wonderful.
“I believe you. I’m sorry for assuming. I’m just not used to things like this,” you whispered. He closed the distance between you so that your noses were touching, and you could feel his breath against your lips – a cool, winterfresh breeze.
“Do you want to be together? Like, as a couple?” Billy almost seemed nervous to ask you, but you were elated, answering him without wasting another second.
“Yes. Of course, yes.” You couldn’t stifle your grin. You felt sunshine in your chest, and you didn’t know what else to say in that moment, but everything felt perfect.
Billy leaned in slowly, his lips connecting with yours in the sweetest of first kisses. Time slowed as the two of you connected, and nothing else mattered while you basked in his warmth, stars showering overhead as the town of Hawkins slipped into a slumber below you.

For the Eddie/Roan/reader series have you written the first time Eddie and reader say I love you to each other? And if not could we get a little blurb for it? Like maybe Roan says it to reader first and Eddie is all like damn, I think I love her too and is just all heart eyes 😍🥰 please and thank you! This series it literally my fav 💕
thank you for your request beautiful ♡ eddie and roan—the munsons tell you they love you for the first time. fem!reader
Eddie's wearing the brand new pair of jeans you got him and feeling like a kid at Christmas. Seriously, this has to be the fucking life. Beautiful daughter, great Uncle, a home he's proud of and a job he doesn't mind, and now he has you, and you like him enough to bring him presents. What the fuck.
They were on sale, you'd said easily, dropping them in his lap with a kiss hello on the cheek. He'd been reading on the porch, didn't hear you coming until you were already there. Where's Roan? I got her a nightie, is that okay?
Said nightie flares pink around Roan's knees as you twirl her. She's standing on the green play table, every rapid footstep wobbling the hollow plastic. In each flash of her face before she turns away, Eddie sees himself —same sugary brown eyes, same smile. You're laughing, the nervous, overjoyed kind, 'cos you both know you shouldn't be doing it but you're not the one who has to say no to her. (Not that Eddie does it as often as he maybe should.)
The jeans you got him are surprisingly soft. They're straight cut and need a little adjusting, but beside that they're perfect. Eddie really, really likes being thought of, trying to squeeze a thank you in between girly giggles.
"This is super dangerous!" you warn Roan, drawing circles over her head with your joined hands.
"This is super fun!" Roan corrects, squealing as you speed up.
One too many spins has her losing her footing, but you'd been expecting it, and you catch her without any fuss. "Woah!" she yelps.
"Woah, I got you," you say, pep unfailing. You're getting better at carrying her, pulling her up your side to rest on your hip.
Roan giggles but otherwise goes quiet, not talking, only laughing as she looks up into your welcoming face. You cushion her legs on your arm so she doesn't fall, your smile turning puzzled. "You okay?" you ask, giving her a bounce like she's much younger than she is, a baby in need of comfort.
"I love you," Roan declares, planting a kiss on your cheek.
"I love you, too," you say without hesitation. Your gaze flickers to Eddie's, but it's not long enough for him to gauge any one emotion.
Roan hums like this has answered a question and puts her arms down on your chest, not quite hugging you, not not hugging you. Your fingers spread over the small breadth of her back. You steal a moment, pressing the fat of your cheek to the top of her head. "Princess," you murmur, "that's so nice. Thank you for telling me. I knew you loved me because you're always showing it, aren't you?"
"I am?" Roan asks.
"I think so." Your smile turns bright, the parentese tone you've been learning like sugar on your lips as you say, "Ooh, I love you so much, beautiful girl! Let's have some cookies to celebrate." Your smile lands on Eddie. "Can we?"
"Yeah. Yeah, of course you can."
You put Roan down. Eddie's lovely daughter immediately takes your hand and together you walk to the kitchen, little steps. Eddie stands there thinking to himself for a few seconds, new jeans and your big heart, a thousand things.
"Hey!" he calls, rushing into the kitchen after you. "Wait a second, Y/N."
You stare at him with wide eyes, hand stopped where it's extended to the kitty cat cookie jar. "Don't tell me there's, like, a fake spider waiting to jump out at me. I can't take it again, Eds, my heart will explode like that freaky movie."
"I love you," he says. Smiling big, not particularly afraid to say it. He's known for a while, but Roan saying it so easily reminded him. He should let you know.
You don't react with any subtlety. Roan's confession was easy, water off of a duck's back, you said it back fast. Now, you're still. Your funny smile is in a pouting frown, your eyes soft with emotion. "Yeah?" you say.
"Yeah. I love you."
"Well I love you too," you say.
Eddie nods nonchalantly, a show, saying, "Yeah, I know," before he drops the facade and crosses the kitchen for you. Roan giggles as he picks you up in a hug, wrenching you from side to side. "You should know already–"
"I do!" you say, wrapping your arms around his neck jubilantly.
"Then why are you asking?"
"I wanted to hear it again," you say.
Eddie smiles into the skin beneath your ear. "I love you. Duh."
"Duh," you say, sounding about as happy as he's ever heard you while he pulls his head back to grin at you.
Roan laughs and pats at Eddie's thigh to be picked up. He grabs her under her arm with some effort and you help to bring her up into the hug. "I love you, too, daddy."
"You should definitely know I love you," Eddie says to her. He tells her enough, three times a day or more. He tells her he loves her when they're brushing her teeth, when they're putting their shoes on, when they're driving home from school. He tells her between mouthfuls of spaghetti and through laughter, Love you, weirdo. "Is this, like, lame if I start telling you both all the time, or am I allowed?"
"Definitely allowed," you say quickly, eyes bright with enthusiasm.
"For sure!" Roan cheers.
Eddie can see the possibilities now, I love you shouted from car windows and down the phone, said into your neck and the palm of your hand. He doesn't know why he didn't say it sooner.

Hiee! I love the way you write bi han. When i read new tricks i IMMEDIATELY ascended. The depression i got when i finished reading them was tragic…
Me thirsting: I really wanna make out wit that man, like… imagine a situation where all you do is stare at him and hope he telepathically gets what you wanna do, but he just ignores you cause he dunno know how to initiate that shit 💀 he just needs a little push per say! Maybe one day you decide enough is enough and you sit your happy ass right down on his lap and bat your lashes at him like a menace 💕
ps: i hope u don’t mind me yapping… ik cage is your man, i apologize 😔🙏🏾
bi-han > see me now
notes: i've noticed i've kinda diverted my attention to other mk boys lately... namely raiden, kuai liang, bi-han and liu kang... so this works perfectly for me...

Tumblr media
• bi-han was a common victim to your teasing, particularly because it would render him entirely speechless and still. for a man that tends to rant about glory and strength, you shut him up like nothing else.
• it was really hard to ignore the fact that you were super into each other, the air thick and tension high when you two were in each other's presence. his brothers would roll their eyes as their grandmaster stands dead-still, as if you had the ability to sense fear when you'd bat your eyelashes his way.
• he can't go to anyone for advice. what, he's gonna talk about his feelings? like a loser? no. real ninjas let emotions fester.
• which brings us to where we are now
• bi-han sat at his desk, physically straining himself to focus on the scroll in front of him when he sees your presence in the doorway. shit, he recognized your footsteps down the hall the moment you were in earshot.
• trying to act as if you weren't shitting your own pants at the thought of your plan, you plant your ass on his desk, sitting and dangling your feet from the wooden furniture with a singsong look about you.
• the silence is so thick is almost halts your breathing. his stone-cold face makes you wonder if this was a bad idea in hindsight, at least, until his lips part to speak.
• "what are you doing?" a simple question, really, but the answer was completely lost on you. thinking back, you didn't actually have a plan. what did you expect to happen? this is bi-han we're talking about.
• "sitting," you reply with your nose high, looking down at him like his question was idiotic.
• "on my desk?" another long silence hurts your ears as he pinches the bridge of his nose. "what do you want." his question sounded less like a question and more like an annoyed statement. then again, everything he says sounds annoyed.
• "what's your deal?" you ask your questions in such a light tone, bi-han feels more obligated to feel threatened. "do you like me or not?"
• clearly this isn't getting far. "what?"
• you huff and decide it was now or never. sliding from his desk, you saunter your way around and swing one leg over his thighs, then the other. his hands shoot out to support you, right on the plush skin of the outside of your thighs. bi-han's eyes are wide.
• "you see me now?" you try to sound triumphant past your nerves, looking up at the ninja through your lashes. "always so afraid to look at me. you're not subtle, grandmaster."
• forced to face you, his gruff words feel choked as they come out. "i don't—"
• "yes you do," you smile, albeit a little wickedly as you shift on his lap, making a cold breath slip past his lips.
• "what are you getting at?" he seems eager to end this, to cool his heated temperature.
• you hum in thought before wrapping your arms around his neck. "i want you to kiss me."
• "now?"
• you roll your eyes at his chipping resolve, tugging him in by the back of his head. both of your eyes wander across each other's expressions before bi-han hesitantly meets his lips with yours. as expected, they have a bit of a chill as he makes contact, but even still you feel him melt into the touch, gripping harder on your thighs to ground himself.
• you only get a moment to pull away and breathe, relishing in taking what you wanted from the hard ass grandmaster. the triumph is short lived when he thrusts his head back in, connecting his lips with yours with more fervor after successfully testing the waters.
• he's hungry, craving more of what he sampled after successfully tearing down this stupid barrier he put up. god, your taste drives him wild as his hands guide your hips along his, grinding with hard pressure.
• it becomes open-mouthed and messy rather quickly, bi-han's hands wandering up from your thighs to your waist, the touch making you shiver and gasp as he uses the opportunity to lick his tongue into your mouth, completely absorbing every whimper you give.
• your hands snake into his hair, deepening the kiss when you snag a fistful of his dark locks, and he groans into your mouth just as the tie falls loose. strands litter his face and swirl about, you hadn't even noticed they were wavy from how often he keeps his hair up.
• the want for more is overpowered by your critical thinking skills. "weren't you busy?"
• bi-han shakes his head slightly, jumping up from his chair and bringing you with him. instinctively, your thighs clasp around his middle, holding his shoulders as he shamelessly uses your ass to hold you up. you're slid onto the desk as various items clatter and fall to the floor, his hard body fitting perfectly between your legs as he reaches forward to kiss you again, chasing your lips when you pull away.
• "it can wait."

Levi Ackerman - I...
Tumblr media
Warning : none
Genre : fluff
Synopsis : “Post war Levi w reader and the first time they said “I love you” to eachother? 💕💓💕” - @vainillacookie
Reader : gender neutral (you/yours)
Tumblr media
It's no secret Levi never thought he'd get to love. Not with the titans existing and taking anyone close to him, but now they were gone, the question of love came back.
Not by itself, though. You helped him, unknowingly.
He had thoroughly put his feelings aside for you for a long time and got so used to hiding it, he didn't realize the end of the titans meant he could finally act on these feelings.
But he saw someone flirt with you so openly, freely, he remembered he could do something about it now, without the fear of losing you.
He asked you out the same day, inviting you for a date in the city you were currently staying in. Mentally sighing in relief when you agreed. He hadn't read your signs wrong, that was a start.
But you were the first to say “I love you”. The three words shocked him more than he'd like to admit. As if he didn't expect you to love him after you agreed to go on a date with him and entered a relationship together.
He wanted to answer. To say he loves you back. But he doesn't feel ready yet. He fears it'll sound forced so he says nothing, grabbing your hand instead to show you he heard you and cares, squeezing your hand gently. But he loves you. And he wants to say it. You feel more natural than him saying it and that's what's stopping him.
He wants to say he loves you but he doesn't find the right moment either. Always interrupted by someone or something. He wants it to be something you'll remember.
Levi is pressuring himself a lot with these words, stressing himself without even realizing it.
“You don't have to say it back. I know how you feel.” You say with a smile, trying to reassure him, your hands applying pressure on his shoulders, massaging them as you felt them tense under your touch.
He says nothing for a moment, you're right, but still.
“But I should be able to say it.” He relaxes a bit, sighing and leaning against you as you continue to massage him. “Because I do love you, that's not the problem.” He says and you raise an eyebrow, your smile growing before chuckling and he realizes.
He feels embarrassed now. This is not how he had imagined he'd say it, his cheeks redden a bit as his heart jumps in his chest.
He said it.
He sighs, rubbing his forehead.
“You must've tired yourself quite a bit to let it out like that.” You say, leaning down to kiss the top of his head.
He hums. He can't believe he's done it. Just like that. Will you remember it ?
He looks at you, sees your happy smile, your shining eyes looking back at him and he knows that you'll remember his first “I love you”. It didn't have to be accompanied by a grand gesture of affection or a special day. It just needed to be sincere. Like he always wanted it to be.
“I love you too.” You say, rubbing his shoulders gently.
Maybe that's how it was meant to be said, nothing big nothing special, just you two caring for each other like you do on the daily basis. Saying “I love you” accidentally while you said it silently, with other words, reassuring him, then with gestures, massaging his shoulders.
He sighs again, pulling you closer to kiss you. Quietly repeating these three words, tickling your lips as he looks into your eyes.
Many more “I love you" followed after that day. Liking to remind you of his love and care for you.

Chapter 8
Monday, October 14 Eighth week of the semester
You didn’t have to wait long for your chance to ask Joel about that raincheck for lunch. The following Monday you were walking towards your second favorite spot on campus, lunch in hand, when you quite literally ran into him again as he came around the corner of a building.
“Whoa there, darlin’.” He steadied you with both hands on your elbows and somehow neither of you fell, spilled, or dropped anything, for once. “You alright?” He smiled and squeezed your elbows gently. You bit your lip and nodded. “Off somewhere?”
“Off to eat my lunch, actually. Want to join me?” You gestured at where he had a plastic takeout bag hanging from his fingers.
He grinned. “That would make my day, darlin’. Where are we headed?” He turned and fell into step at your side.
“You know the area with the tables, over by the psych building?” He nodded. “I like to eat there sometimes. My favorite place tends to get overrun with students during the semester.”
“Most spots on campus do.”
You laughed and nodded as the two of you turned into the aforementioned area with tables, nestled into a corner with some nice trees behind the psych building. “So, how have you been since you fixed my shelf? Any interesting maintenance requests?”
Your question seemed to amuse him, but he also seemed to hesitate before answering. “No, nothing much. I’ve mostly been down in the office.”
“Well, I can relate to that.” You thought of your long day of grading yesterday. “Sometimes I think I live in mine, and just visit my apartment.” He sat down across from you at the small metal table and arranged his lunch next to yours. “Where were you headed before I interrupted you by actually running into you? Again?”
He shrugged, and rubbed the back of his neck with his left hand. “Oh, well, I was actually heading to see if you might like to eat lunch together.” He laughed and dropped his hand to the table. He ducked his head but still caught your eye.
“Oh, so I had good timing then.” You smiled, and were about to say something else when your phone buzzed where it was sitting in the middle of the small table. You both looked down at it, and to your horror, you saw that it was unlocked and Beth’s text was visible on your screen.
bestie (11:52 AM): I see you! is that Hot Construction Asshole I spy there having lunch with you??? 👀
Your face felt like it was on fire as you looked around and found her standing near the music building. You glared as she waved at you before skipping away like the demon she was.
Avoiding his eye, you groaned and hid your face in your hands. “Joel, I—”
“Hey.” You looked up at his soft tone. Just like the other day in your office, his expression was so gentle it almost hurt. He smiled at you when he caught your eye. “I’ve been calling you the Gorgeous Professor That Hates My Guts to my brother for weeks.” His eyes crinkled with his smile and you couldn’t look away. You weren’t sure what to say but almost against your will words spilled out of your mouth anyway.
“I don’t hate you, Joel.”
He smirked. “Sure, now you don’t. Maybe you did a few weeks ago.” He laughed as you hid your face again. “Well, according to that text, at least, you seem to think I’m hot.”
Your face felt warm under your hands. You peeked through your fingers at him again. “And you think I’m gorgeous, huh? But I think I’ll need a new nickname for you. And from you.”
He tilted his head. “Oh yeah?” He held eye contact with you as he seemed to consider your words. “Well, darlin’, let me think about it for a bit. Get it just right.” You rolled your eyes a little but knew your smile was giving away how you really felt about that. “Don’t see why I’d need to change the whole thing, though. You are gorgeous.” You felt his eyes dart across your face like a soft touch as he said it.
Your face was still hot and some sort of feeling welled up in your throat at his declaration. “Let me know when you’re ready with it then.” Your voice sounded strangled, but he nodded. You cleared your throat and changed the subject.
As you ate, you talked about anything and everything — your classes, his work preparing for the fall graduation, and Sarah’s progress with your dissertation. “I swear she’s determined to finish it. Was talking my ear off about those poems you looked at last night.” You laughed.
“Maybe you’ll learn something.” You smiled as you teased him.
He laughed, but agreed. “Already have. Never knew a poem could say so much.”
“No? Not a poetry fan?”
He considered your question. “I wouldn’t say I’m not a fan so much as I don’t have much experience with it. Maybe I could be a fan. I like music, after all, ‘n songs are like poems, right? I want to learn what you see in it.” You hummed in response, smiling a bit at the idea that he’d be willing to learn about it at all. To see it from your perspective.
“‘You are not alone, the poem said, in the dark tunnel.’”
He tilted his head at you as he finished a bite of his sandwich. “I get the feeling that was from a poem.”
You smiled and nodded. “Louise Glück. You made me think of it, when you said you never knew a poem could say so much.”
“Right, ‘the poem said.’”
You nodded again. “That, and what it says. Poetry makes me feel less alone. So many people… feeling similar things, writing about it. And feeling things again when they read it. I feel connected.”
You were both quiet for a moment and you could see that he was actually thinking about your words. It was something you took for granted around Joel, you realized. He always listened to you, always took in everything you said before reacting. Always gave you his full attention. The realization made the apology you’d been holding back start to crowd behind your teeth. You cleared your throat and let it out.
“You know, Joel, I really do feel bad about yelling at you, that time with the jackhammer.” He waved his hand as if to wave away your apology, but you persisted. “No, really. It wasn’t your fault, and running into you is way better than an unpleasant surprise.” You smiled at him softly, a little self-conscious now. “Even when I end up spilling coffee on myself or sneezing. Um, a lot.”
Joel was shaking his head. He reached out and touched his fingers lightly to the back of your hand on the table. “Nothing to apologize for, darlin’. I was making a mess of your day, after all.”
It was your turn to shake your head. “I just feel bad that I’ve been thinking so badly of you when you didn’t deserve it. And I can’t imagine what sort of first impression I’ve left, ever since the parking garage.”
Joel’s brow furrowed, and he looked like he was contemplating his response. You nudged his foot with yours under the table to encourage him. He nodded once, seeming to make up his mind.
He took a deep breath and lowered his gaze. He continued, “well, you don’t have to worry about that. That’s not the first time I saw you.”
You straightened in your seat. “What do you mean?”
He hesitated again. “Over the summer, in the Secret Garden. I was walkin’ past while you were workin’ on a bench. I just… well, I just noticed you. You looked so, um, so beautiful, in the sunlight, but it was the way you were studyin’ your book. You were so…” he trailed off, clearly thinking back, avoiding catching your eye. Your brain had caught on beautiful and you heard it echoing in your mind in Joel’s voice. So beautiful.  “So engaged. Same way Sarah gets when she’s readin’, I guess, but um.” Joel blushed. You watched, fascinated. “Looks different on you.” He cleared his throat. “I’m surprised you didn’t catch me starin’, I was so flustered.” You try to remember what day he could be talking about, but there were so many like it — it was your favorite place to work in the summer.
“Then you pulled up in your car that day and I, um, I was so surprised to see you. I thought maybe I was a little too short with you. Resolved myself to do better the next time I saw you, but–”
You groaned. “But that was the time with the coffee.”
He smiled, a little ruefully, and nodded. “I did offer to buy you more.”
You shook your head. “I wasn’t…” You sighed. “I was embarrassed. I was having such a bad morning, and you were so freaking hot, and I— ugh.” You hid your face in your hands, again. “I can’t believe I just said that.”
You felt his fingertips first, and then his palms as his fingers circled your wrists and gently pulled your hands away from your face. He rubbed his thumbs lightly over the back of your hands, soothing you. When you opened your eyes, his were right there, waiting for you. The emotion you found in his gaze froze you in place.
“You were gorgeous covered in coffee, too.” His tone was serious but you could see the twinkle in his eye as you startled into a laugh.
“Joel!” You laughed, and tugged on your arms.
He held you still for just a moment, and his face set into something more serious. “I mean it.”
Your gaze snapped back to his from where you’d been studying the smile on his lips.
“Did I- did I get the wrong idea, then?” You hesitated, but pushed forward with Beth’s voice in your ear. “Have you actually been flirting with me this whole time, Joel Miller?”
He grinned so wide his eyes crinkled again. “Nice of you to finally notice, darlin’.” He pulled your arms down and held both of your hands on the table. “I wasn’t sure what else I needed to do to get you to pick up on it, aside from just asking you outright.”
You considered him, smiling, and laced your fingers through his. “I think you should.”
“Should what?”
“Should ask me out. Right.” You grinned at your joke and he laughed.
“Alright then. Darlin’, what do you think about going out with me? This weekend, maybe? Friday? I know a great spot for live music.” He squeezed your hands.
“I’d love to.” For a minute it seemed like you both got lost, holding each other’s gaze. You had just started to consider truly wild gestures — hooking your legs together, possibly even leaning forward to kiss his cheek — when the doors to the psych building behind you slammed open and students started to pour out into the quad. You startled, and he squeezed your hands again in response.
“Damn. That means I have 10 minutes to get back to my office for office hours.” You shook your head. “Sorry, Joel.”
“Let me walk you.” You nodded, and he did. He walked in step with you all the way back to the door of your building, arm brushing against your own. When you arrived, you threw caution to the wind and leaned up to kiss him on the cheek. “I’ll see you later.” He agreed, and after a moment of what looked like indecision, nodded and turned to head back to his office. You watched him go, smiling.

That night, you answered a knock at your front door and were surprised to find Ellie and Riley grinning at you on the other side.
“What are you two doing here? It’s Monday.” You stepped aside as they blew past you into the apartment.
“Ellie left a book here yesterday that we need for our project that’s due on Wednesday, and if we come get it tomorrow we’ll never finish it in time,” Riley explained, rolling her eyes at you even as Ellie let out what sounded like a squawk in protest from the other room.
She poked her head back around the doorframe and scowled. “You didn’t remember it, either.” Riley stuck out her tongue in response. You laughed.
“Alright, well, I assume everyone’s parents know where they are.” Both girls nodded. “Do you want to stay for dinner? I was going to order something.”
Riley nodded. “We maybe told our parents that was the plan, and that we were going to work on our project.”
You laughed again, shaking your head. “I’ll order a pizza.”
Thirty minutes later you had your grading, their notes, and the pizza box open on your coffee table. Ellie and Riley were curled up on the couch while you were sitting on the floor facing them. They’d been catching you up on the project and their plans for it.
“Will you read over it when it’s done?” Ellie stuffed half of a piece of pizza in her mouth after she asked and you snorted. “Sure, but only if you send it to me before 8pm tomorrow. I’m not reading it if you send it while I’m asleep.” She rolled her eyes but nodded.
Riley looked pensive. “You ever think we have an unfair advantage, asking an English professor to read our essays?” You laughed, shaking your head. It’s not like you were writing it for them – you were just giving them feedback, anyway.
Ellie had finally finished devouring her pizza and suddenly perked up. “Wait, I forgot to ask. How was today? Did you see him?”
Riley looked back and forth between the two of you. “The construction guy? The one you have a crush on?” You sent Ellie an unimpressed look, but she just grinned, unrepentant.
“Yes, I saw him, and it was fine,” you said, eyes narrowed at your niece. She snorted.
“Beth said you had lunch with him. And held hands.”
You sighed. “If you already knew why did you ask?”
She grinned at you. “I wanted to hear you tell us what his nickname for you was.”
“I’m going to tell Beth to stop telling you things,” you groaned.
Ellie laughed, loudly. “It won’t work! She’s on my side.” You gasped, pretending to be outraged. It was getting harder to hide your own grin.
“Your side? I thought you were on my side! My own niece!”
Riley had joined in the laughter now, and they were both grinning at you. You hid your own smile by flopping back onto the carpet dramatically. “I am betrayed!”
Ellie crumpled a piece of paper and threw it at you. It bounced off your forehead and landed under the couch. “It’s for your own good, you weirdo. At least now we know he’s just as weird as you are.”
You grinned up at the ceiling, charmed by the thought. “Yeah, maybe he is.”

The quote in this chapter is from section 5 of October by Louise Glück: 5. It is true that there is not enough beauty in the world. It is also true that I am not competent to restore it. Neither is there candor, and here I may be of some use.
I am at work, though I am silent.
The bland
misery of the world bounds us on either side, an alley
lined with trees; we are
companions here, not speaking, each with his own thoughts;
behind the trees, iron gates of the private houses, the shuttered rooms
somehow deserted, abandoned,
as though it were the artist’s duty to create hope, but out of what? what?
the word itself false, a device to refute perception — At the intersection,
ornamental lights of the season.
I was young here. Riding the subway with my small book as though to defend myself against
the same world:
you are not alone, the poem said, in the dark tunnel.

Bucky’s eyes jolted open when Natasha and you laughed on the sofa next to him. He had been up for 36 hours now. But he wanted to spend time with his girl after the mission - a mission which left him with little to no sleep on top of physical exhaustion.
His arm was resting on the couch behind you, fingers grazing your shoulder ever so slightly. It was enough to send him into a drowsy state. But as much as whatever he was doing right now neared sleep more than anything had done in the past day, he needed to go to bed. Preferably with you, cuddled up under the warm blanket, the smell of your hair in his nose and your soft body pressed into his. Bucky felt all warm just thinking about it and it plastered a small smile on his face.
“I think I'm going to hit the hay,” he said as he stood from the sofa, and waited once he had done so.
“Ok,” you answered before your eyes wandered to him, an asking eyebrow urging him to talk again. “Anything else?”
His eyebrows raised before his hand reached out to you, a silent plea from him to just take it and follow him. You didn’t always go to bed together, but he liked to believe that you enjoyed it just as much whenever you got the chance to. “Aren’t you gonna join me?”
Your features softened once his request had passed, but you shook your head slightly. “You go ahead, I’ll be right behind ya.” And then you were back to giggling with Natasha.
Bucky’s smile fell. He just wanted his girl in his arms and finally some sleep. Was that so too much to ask? But he didn’t want to sound desperate either.
“Geez, clingy much Barnes?” Nat laughed before you agreed with a giggly “I know, right?” And then started whispering something with her.
Bucky’s shoulders slumped, his heart seemingly doing the same. He just liked being with you. Especially after a mission or when he didn’t get to talk to you much. Was that clingy? Bucky thought it was normal to miss the people he cared about. You always told him you missed him when either of you was away. But apparently, he was a little too much. You had spent the entire evening together after all.
A hoarse ‘okay’ drowned in the giggles in front of him before Bucky turned and headed to his room. How could he not have noticed that he trapped you with his presence? How long had you felt that way? All the questions were eating Bucky up inside. He couldn’t not bother, but he was hoping that his exhaustion would take care of it for now - let him sleep and forget about his racing mind.
-❁-
Unfortunately, Bucky’s wishes remained unheard. He wasn’t sleeping. It had been 43 minutes since he tried. He knew, because every time he opened his eyes in hopes of having dreamt his newest dilemma, the watch hand of the clock on his nightstand had barely moved.
He was constantly bothered by the ways he could change his behavior. The last thing he wanted was to annoy you. But it was hard. He enjoyed your presence so much. It was new for him to feel this attached to a person, and because it felt so nice for a change, he pursued it in all the ways he could.
It was about time it came to bite him in the ass now. Because in his experience, good things never lasted long, not for Bucky anyway. Hell, he was surprised the last four months of your relationship had gone so well. He was bound to mess up - it was in his nature...
The door to his room opened, but Bucky stayed in his position on the bed. His back turned to you, and his face pressed into the pillow frustratedly, we waited for you to just get ready and sleep. He told himself it was so he could be alone with his thoughts again, when really, he just didn’t know what to do - he needed to give you space.
Though Bucky should have known, you weren’t one to ignore an issue - and you always knew when there was one.
The bed dipped but he didn’t move. Your hand reached out to him but he didn’t move. You attempted to turn him to you and he shook your hand off.
“What’s wrong, Buck?” No response. It would only make it worse.
“Come on, talk to me.” You touched his arm again and Bucky finally sat up and turned to you, eyebrows scrunched, breaths heavy.
“There’s nothing to talk about.” There was no way to navigate this. Even if Bucky were able to steer this conversation toward the revelatory outcome he wanted, he had no clue how to do it. It was better to just get space - give you space.
But you wouldn’t budge. You scooched closer to him on the bed, halting when Bucky flinched back. When he caught your eyes then, he found hurt and confusion turning your features. It made his chest sting, his hand clammy.
“You were fine just then. What happened?” Another attempt to reach out to him but he reacted the same. You averted your eyes, picking on the covers. “You know you can tell me anything right? I’m here if you need me-“
“Well, I don’t need you.” The words tasted bitter on his tongue. But how else could he tell you that he was anything but clingy?
“You don’t mean that.”
“How would you know what I mean?!” He snapped, his effort to stay calm breaking like a dried stick between his fingers. “I feel like I don’t even know you! You don’t even want to spend time with me.”
But he didn’t miss the fire light up in your eyes at his last words and it sent a shiver through him. “Well, it’s hard when you pull yourself out of every social interaction to ever exist!” You moved away from him and he felt a pull at his heart.
“Maybe I wouldn’t do it if you would actually pay attention to me for once!” Bucky didn’t know where that came from. There was frustration and confusion, and hurt all mixing in his brain, making it hard to distinguish intrusive from rational thoughts.
“Oh, so this is my fault?” You huffed.
“Or maybe I’m just fucking broken. Is that what you’re trying to say?! In this case, I don’t even know why you keep up with me.”
“Buck-”
“If I’m so broken why don’t you just get back to having fun with everyone else on the team and just leave me be? That’s what you do best, right? Be social! Show me how it’s done because I can’t do it. Ever!” Bucky caught a tear falling from your cheek. No. Nonono. This had not been his intention. Shit.
The room fell silent and Bucky took a deep breath. He was just angry at himself. Angry that he was incapable of connecting with people. Angry that he upset you by being clingy once he found the one person he could attach himself to.
“Alright stop it!” Another tear spilled from your eyes but something inside him was still not finished.
“Why? Is it making you uncomfortable to hear the truth?” He hadn’t intended to say it, but his mouth just opened and did. Stupid fucking mouth.
“Bucky!” He flinched once you raised your voice. You had never done it at him. Neither of you had ever fought with each other in fact. “Where the hell is this coming from?” Now your tone was softer and Bucky could feel his heart pumping blood through his body again. Yeah... where the hell was this coming from?
Bucky fumbled with the blanket. He didn’t even notice he was crying until a fat hot tear landed on the covers. He felt you shuffle closer again, relieved that he hadn’t scared you off entirely.
“Do you really think you’re broken?” You spoke so carefully, as if he were to break at any second. And honestly, that might have happened.
“It feels that way too often for it not to be true..,” he whispered ashamed.
“Baby,” You reached out again and this time, he allowed it, needing your touch more than ever before. You pulled him into your chest, your arms encasing him as he slumped against your frame - finally exhaling, relaxing, and falling into your embrace. “Everyone feels like this from time to time. You don’t have to always be happy and confident to be normal or okay.”
Your soothing voice traveled through his exhausted haze, tears still falling from his eyes. "But it feels like I get stuck in my sorrow.”
“That is normal. I have those days, too. Nat has them, Steve does too.”
Bucky moved to look up at you, a silent request for confirmation in his stare, but this time, he felt, you understood. You probably always had.
“It’s true, babe.” Your body rocked softly and it soothed Bucky further into your soft chest. He felt the tension draining from his body, the sleeplessness replacing it in every inch of him.
“Please, talk to me when you feel like this again. I can help you. I want to help you.”
“Thank you.” He smiled weakly. How could he have ever thought you would neglect him? It was stupid, just as stupid as that attempt of his to give you more space.
“Not for this, Bucky.” You kissed his forehead, ultimately lulling Bucky into his well-deserved sleep - with a calm mind, and the promise to never let his insecurities get the better of him again.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ "Let's get you home," Lucifer says quietly.
You nod with a sniff, and he leads you to the car with a protective arm over your shoulder and a glare in his eyes - a warning to any who might try to approach and speak to you.
Your silent as he fastens your seatbelt for you, silent as he closes the door. He keeps your hand in his during the drive home, the constant reassurance of his touch the only thing keeping your tears at bay.
He shares your silence with you, resting in it with you like two people hiding under a blanket unwilling to be seen by anyone but each other. He's silent as he helps you out of the car when you get home, silent as he walks you to your room, silent as he runs your bath for you.
Lucifer helps you undress. Carefully, slowly. There's no lust in his touch; not right now. He knows it's not what you need. For now, you need care, tenderness... to be given to without the expectation of reciprocation, of payment.
You close up within yourself once you sit in the hot water, your knees drawn up to your chest and your head bent down to close off the world. He doesn't question it. You're a flower tucking away its petals at midnight, waiting for the sun. When the warmth is in you again, you'll unfurl, your colors bright.
Lucifer rolls up the sleeves of his red dress shirt, his forearms exposed. He washes your back for you, watches as the soap runs down your back in small rivers, like falling stars. He washes your hair, his long fingers shielding your closed eyes as he runs the water through. He feels the brush of your lashes beneath his touch, watches as a soft, long sigh leaves you, the tension within your body unwinding.
But still you're silent, so is he. He's silent as you stand in the tub, silent as he wraps the soft towel around you. You tuck the corner of it in and step out, the small rivers traveling down your legs. He grabs a second towel and dries them for you, pats the tops of your feet. He glances up at you to see your eyes are finally open now, watching him. He feels as if he's standing on your doorstep, and you've finally answered the door.
Your hand cups his face, your thumb brushes his cheek. He leans his face into it, turns his lips until they brush your palm.
Then he's grabbing another clean towel and draping it over your wet hair. It frames you like a cloak, casting your face in shadow. He cups your face in his hands through the soft cotton and kisses your forehead. The first sundrops of warmth begin to filter through, and you close your eyes to it, relishing in it in the way you'd watch the dawn break through your window.
But still you need more, and Lucifer understands this. He's memorized you; every page, every angle. He takes you to the couch in front of the fire. Strong hands pull you gently into his lap, and you curl against him, cradled. Your head rests into the crook of his neck and you allow the scent of him to soothe you, allow the heat of his body to breathe life into you in the way the firelight never could.
The last strings of tension remain under your skin. They're small, remnants of what they were before Lucifer had brought you home, yet they feel significant, like the smallest splinter stuck in your finger.
If you could ask him for just a little bit more...
His hand his resting on your knees and you stare at it, at the painted fingernails and pale skin. His touch his warm, the veins on the back of his palm visible. You recall the feel of them beneath your fingertips, warm memories from a previous time. You take his hand and slowly slide it up to your thigh.
He doesn't question. He trusts you to know yourself.
He hums softly in acquiescence, his blood-red eyes watching you with soft intensity as his hand trails up the inside of your thigh. Your legs part, but not too much; just enough to allow space for him, to feel the pressure of his hand caught between your legs as he finds your center, your core, the place where your love for him resides, trapped between wet petals that smell sweetly of you.
Your lungs shudder as you inhale, your eagerness for his touch painted in the heat of your flesh.
You cling to him, your arm around his neck as you bury your face deeper into the curve below his ear. You can feel his adam's apple bob against your nose as he swallows, can feel the pressure of his cheek against your head. His grip around your toweled waist tightens, and the hardening of his cock beneath you is unmistakable.
But Lucifer is patient. His time will come later. He knows this is for you.
His fingers caress you, slow and gentle, gathering your slickness as if it were honey to be placed on his tongue. He rubs the pads of his digits over your clit and you spasm with a gasp, your thighs opening the slightest bit more. His grip on you tightens again, holding you steady in his lap as his fingers continue their circular motion two, three more times.
Then he dips them into you again, pushing slightly further. Your hand clings to his forearm, and you feel the muscles and tendons tense and flex beneath your touch as his finger curl within you, slow and generous. He pulls them out to tips and pushes in again, his thumb sliding across your swollen nerves.
Your breaths are transformed into soft pants that are delivered like small gifts against the heat of his neck. You want to kiss him, want to feel him surround your senses so you could lose yourself in him. You lift your head slightly and his own dips in response, his nose brushing against yours.
But Lucifer doesn't kiss you, not yet. He stares you through a lustblown gaze as your sweet mouth pants your desire for him against his slightly parted lips.
Your hips begin to rock in his lap, desperate for more. More pressure, more speed, more him, more more more.
But his arm tightens around your waist, and you force your body to stillness. Only then does he give you what you ask, increasing the pace of his fingers for you, pressing harder with his thumb, curling his long digits against his favorite part of you, the part that makes you his.
It beckons every nerve to him, every cell of your body called forth. The air in your lungs is stolen, the blood in your brain abandoning you to celebrate his touch, leaving you lightheaded with need. Every swipe of his fingers, of his thumb against you and within you ties the knot tighter and tighter, until the fabric of your being is on the verge of tearing.
His name is on your tongue, yet it never leaves your lips, a prayer unable to be spoken as the threads break. You moan against him, and now is the time that he captures your lips with his, his tongue diving into yours to steal your lust-born confessions like a thief in the night. Your hips rock into his hand, your thighs clamp closed as his fingers continue to work you through the riptide of your pleasure. Your lips are unable to keep up with his, your head too dumb with pleasure. They fall slack to release unfettered gasps as moans, and so his mouth moves to your jaw, your neck, teeth scraping and mouth sucking.
Finally, your body quiets, loose and soft, the tension finally gone. Lucifer gently pulls his fingers from you and holds you close to him on top of his lap.
"Feel better?" he whispers against your lips. His voice is deep, soft - like a comfortable bed you'll never be able to escape from.
You nod quietly.
He cups your face with his hand and kisses you once, twice, a slow steady pressure of his soft lips against yours. On the third return, your mouth opens for him and his hungry tongue finds you.
Slowly, you feel yourself being tipped backwards, his hand on your back secure until you feel the weight of your body press against the couch cushions. His body follows inch for inch, his mouth never leaving yours, until he's hovering over you, his knee between your parted legs. The tucked corner of your towel finally gives way, and the cotton falls open. Lucifer halts his heavy kisses to watch his palm run the length of your body.
His hand ends at your thigh, and pulls it over his hip as his hard cock presses against your heat, your slick decorating his pants like a wet kiss. You inhale, and push yourself harder against him as your sensitive hardened nipples brush against his shirt.
"Good," he replies with a grin. "Let's keep going."

night school teacher! javier peña x f!reader | q & a
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
@holacia3 had left some questions about Retired Night School Teacher Javier Peña, so I thought I’d make a separate post to answer them. Thanks so much for sending these!!
What made Javi fill in the vacant teacher role? Did he just move here? Simply transferring from another local school/ uni?
In my head he's retired from the DEA and his dad is encouraging him to do something else besides helping him on the ranch, something that he would find more fulfilling.
Chucho tells him about the community college looking for a replacement teacher for their night school program so he applies. I hadn't really thought about what he would be teaching at this point though.
Are you two having these late night talks at the school or going somewhere else before/after the building has to close?
In the beginning, it's at the school before class. As they get to kow each other more, it's after class. Javi gathering his things promptly, then joining her while she finishes prep work and packing her own things up. I picture there are some evenings where they get to talking and lose track of time, Javier being a gentleman walks her to her car to make sure she gets there safe, waiting for her to leave before even heading to his truck.
Eventually Javi would ask her to dinner. It probably nothing romantic at this point, both of them just enjoying each other's company. Maybe she then invites him to something one weekend, a concert in the park, he doesn't hesitate accepting the invite. Maybe that evening he kisses her for the first time, and it becomes apparent that there's something more blooming between them.
Has this Javi always been a teacher? Or a second career after his time at the DEA ended?
No, definitely a secondary career after the DEA
Do the other teachers/administrators know how handsome he is? Do the students make any comments to him or you?
I'm sure other teachers do know how handsome he is. I don't think anyone makes comments in the beginning, both of them keep it relatively quiet and to themselves.
What's his day life like? What's he up to outside of teaching hours?
He probably still helping his dad as much as possible, even though Chucho continues to tell him he doesn't need it.
When does he start leaving notes? On your desk? Is this a no-texting kind of relationship/ situation?
Maybe it's after the concert. The next time they're at school, she finds the concert ticket on her desk with a not about how he enjoyed himself on the back. She keeps it in a special place in her book bag.
How long does it take for you two to get breathless???
I feel like it isn't a rushed thing. I don't really have a back story for them as of now, but neither of them begin talking to each other with the intention of just right out sleeping with each other. It's kind of a slow burn and happens organically over time when they develop feelings for one another.
He's a lady's man in Narcos - is he already involved with someone else when you two first meet?
No, he isn't involved with anyone. He's very much single and has been for a period of time.
How is reader's love life before Javi shows up across the hall?
She's had prior relationships, few serious ones throughout her dating life. Maybe even an engagement or previously married. I think when they both meet, she herself is single two. Which probably helps the connection grow stronger between them as time goes on.
Thanks again for these wonderful questions!!! Really made me start to plot and think about their story a little more. 💕

DECEMBER (CONTINUED..)
 “You’re kidding me.”
“I am not, Jonathan!” you hissed, looking down the hall. When there was no sign of anyone else coming out of their rooms, you continued on. “I just..left.”
“But why would you just..that doesn’t make sense! Tell me from the beginning again.”
Sighing, you sat down in the chair by the kitchen phone. It had been over an hour now of venting to Jonathan and because he’s currently hopped-up on whatever his friend Argyle supplied him, it’s taking longer to explain everything to him.
“Fine, but this is the last time.”
 “Last time, promise.”
You go over the events that happened at the end of the night you spent at Steve’s. It was a bit painful to explain it in detail again but you really needed some advice from your friend. “..And when I looked back, he was standing there. Note in hand and everything.”
“Christ.” he sighed, “And since then you two haven’t talked?”
“I called him when I got home that afternoon. Other than that we’ve been thankfully busy. Mostly just school and then work. But I’ve switched with Keith a couple of times to avoid the long hours.”
“You really know how to put on the theatrics, don’t you?”
“Seriously?” you gaped, looking at the receiver as if it insulted you and not your friend on the other line. “I’m doing anything for theatrics. I’m literally trying to get out of possibly another fight.”
“Yeah, which surely won’t happen the next time you see each other again.”
“I’m sort of hoping it'll resolve itself by then.” he went silent for a moment and you knew that he was possibly coming to his own thoughts on it. “Don’t you think?”
“I’m thinking you’re not gonna like what I have to say.”
“I’m sure I can handle it. Just give it to me.”
He sighed softly, seeming to be more nervous at your request. But he spoke up either way. “I think you’re in the wrong for asking that much from Steve.”
 “..you’re right. I’m hanging up.”
“Would you let me finish?” Jonathan chuckled before he turned serious again. “I get where you’re coming from. I know that in your head it’s just logical for the guy with no official ties there to just leave and go with you.”
 “Good, you get it.”
“But,” he continued on. “I also think it’s wrong for you to assume it'd be easy. Steve Harrington has lived in Hawkins his whole life and despite any complaining he might have done to you at some point, a small part of him is gonna be scared shitless to just leave the comforts of home.”
You frowned at your friend’s words. Hating that a small part of you felt like what you were hearing was right. “But I left home. I haven’t lived there in almost three years..”
“And I’m sure if your parents asked you to come back you’d tell them no, right?”
“I—“ the answer died on your tongue. At this point you weren’t sure what you’d actually say to a question like that. While Hawkins the place wasn’t your home, the people that inhabited it were. And you didn’t think you could give up any one of them. Especially Steve.
“I know it sucks not to have things go your way. But sometimes you gotta take the curveballs life throws at you and do something else.”
“Something else?” you frowned. “But..what about the relationship? The feelings we worked on getting out..all that was just for nothing? All because we let fear get in the way of progressing it?”
Jonathan sighed and you can practically envision him with his hand on his hips right now. “Who says you guys are supposed to progress together? What if there’s changes along the way?..Look this is definitely something you should talk to Steve about. But, if this were me in the situation. I’d just do what my heart thinks is right. Even if it’s to the disappointment of others. Just do what makes you happy, you know?”
The thought about what makes you happy was easy to answer. It was Steve. He was the only thing these days that made you the most happy. But Jonathan was right, if you truly went with what you wanted, some people along the way might get hurt.
 “Henderson? You still there?”
“I’m here I’m just..”  you sighed. You were about to ask about his thoughts on taking a gap year when the sound of a car engine cut you off. Dragging the phone and long cord with you, you peeked through the window to see Steve parking in your driveway. “Shit.” you whispered. “Can I call you back later?”
 “What? Why? Is Steve there?”
“Yes,” you muttered, looking as he seemed to be talking to himself in the car. “I think he must have heard you lecturing me.”
“Good. The two of you need to seriously sort your shit out. Anyway, Argyle is gonna come over tonight. He has this new album he wants to show me.”
“Fine, I’ll talk to you tomorrow.”
“All right, sounds good. And look..just hear him out. Maybe he’s going through something we don’t know about, okay?”
The two of you muttered out a quick goodbye before dropping the phone back down. Grabbing your thick coat off the coat rack, you quickly made your way out the door. Closing it up behind you with a swift thud as Steve had just made his way out of his car.
“Oh, hey.” he said nervously. “Guess you heard me coming in.”
“Yeah.” you said plainly. “I was by the door anyway..”
The two of you slowly moved towards each other. His usually confident demeanor faltered as he approached. His eyes, usually warm when looking at you, had a dull shine. Snow crunched beneath your boots as you both met in the middle of the driveway. It made your stomach twist to know that the two of you were not only nervous but awkward with each other. Even when you hated Steve you never felt this bad.
“I missed you.” He said softly, reaching a hand out to place on your arm. “I missed you all week actually.”
“I missed you too.” you said softly, not even realizing that amidst the trouble, there was the need to see him again until he was before you now. Your eyes caught sight of a little patch of green peeking out from his shirt. Reaching forward you pull down his coat to expose the familiar tacky vest from work. “You came from work..”
He chuckled a bit, nodding his head before he unzipped his coat, exposing the rest of the vest to you.“Yeah, I did. Would have come sooner, but I was sort of building up the courage.”
That tugged at your heart a bit and you reached out to cup at his cheek. Rubbing with your thumb soothingly. “You should never be afraid to talk to me..”
He reached up to place his hand on top of yours, a small smile on his face. “Never. I’ll always want to talk to you..it was getting you to talk to me that made me nervous.”
Sighing, you look down to the ground. Not sure how the two of you were going to approach this. But things couldn’t continue this way. Turning your attention back to Steve, you give him what you hope came off as reassurance. “I’m listening..”
Changing your hand to lace together, he led you over so that the two of you could lean against your Aunt’s car. Shading you under the roof of the parking spot and also placing you closer to his side.
“I have a small confession.” he murmured, moving his other free hand into his pocket. “I did come with other intentions than just talking.”
You watched as he dug out a small box from his pocket. The size was oddly too familiar with something else but he quickly opened it up before you could question it. Peering down, you looked inside to find a beautiful gold necklace.
“Steve,” you softly gasped. “It’s not even Christmas yet.”
“Humor me.” he said before reaching in. He pulled at the chain until he was able to dangle the center of the necklace to you. A small letter ‘S’ shined back at you. Nudging at your shoulders, he gently turned you around so that he could place the necklace around your neck, quickly locking it on.
Turning back to face him, the two of you glanced down at the accessory. It was a perfect fit. And though you’ve never been one to have your boyfriend’s name be proudly displayed for others to see, the small little S made your heart beat faster.
“I've, uh, wanted to give that to you for some time now.” he said, clearing his throat. Almost nervously. “That box has been sitting in my sock drawer since the summer, honestly.”
 “The summer?” you asked, “Why?”
“Remember that night before we were stuck in the elevator?”
You couldn’t help but smile a bit at the memory. It was the night that cemented your feelings for Steve. “Yeah,” you nodded. “There was that mess on the roof, then I got upset and you came over to cheer me up..it was perfect.”
Steve smiled at that, nodding his head in agreement.
“That night changed everything for me.” He reached up to cup the side of your face, eyes boring down to yours when he suddenly turned serious. “I wanted to tell you I loved you a thousand times that night. But seeing as we weren’t there yet, I settled for trying to make a grand gesture sort of thing.”
“You’ve loved me since that night?”
“I’ve loved you since Prom, Honey.”
Your jaw slacked at the small confession. Unsure how you could have missed at all that Steve’s feelings for you had been that serious then. Prom had been the first time in months since the two of you kissed and he felt that strongly then?
His hand reached out to hold the necklace, brushing his fingers lightly over the letter before he let go. “I got this the next day. Right in Starcourt.” he said, voice tinged with some sort of fondness. “Was gonna give it to you right when you entered the store, but then..”
“I came from Billy’s attack.” you finished, reaching up to hold onto the necklace. “You wanted to give me this since then?”
“I wanted to give it to you as a way to ask you to be my girl,” he looked down at the ground sadly. “But I guess now I’m giving it to you, to ask if you’re still my girl?”
You breath hitched at his words. It would seem leaving didn’t just prevent a fight from happening, but also put in a whole new worry for Steve. “I’m always gonna be your girl, Steve.” you said softly, reaching over to grab hold of his hand.
“Then why does it feel like I’m about to lose you?”
“You don’t have to lose me, Steve.” You sighed, letting go to lean back against the car. “In fact, I think me asking you to come with me proved otherwise.”
He straightened his composer, lips pursing at your words before he glanced up at you. “I told you, I can’t go with you. Not when I feel like I still need to be here.”
“I don’t get it, Steve.” You scoffed, pushing your hair away from your face. “How can you easily give me this necklace, talk about loving me for so long only to let me leave without even thinking about coming with me.”
“I can love you and know where I want to go, Trouble. It’s pretty easy to do both things.” He frowned, crossing his arms over his chest. “What I don't get is how you can love me back but be upset that I want to stay here. Why is long distance out of the question?”
“Because long distance isn’t feasible for us, Steve!” You moved to stand before him, peering up at his face better. “How can you and I, the same two people who sneak into each other’s houses in the dead of the night, the very people who are constantly touching each other, suddenly just deal with the next four years without seeing each other.”
“We’d see each other,” he pointed. “We’d have holidays, birthdays, and surprises. There’s ways we’d work things out.”
You sighed, meeting his intense gaze. "Those are only if we even get the chance to see each other. You’re forgetting that there are going to be nights where the both of us are tired from either work or school and we wouldn’t even have the comfort of having each other.”
He shook his head, running a hand through his hair. "I know but Hawkins is... it's my home. There's something here I can't just walk away from."
“But you’re willing to walk away from us? From me?” you asked, trying to keep your voice steady from the sudden ache in your throat. “I thought we were a team. I thought we'd want the same things..”
He paced back and forth, unable to meet your gaze as he suddenly became torn. "My friends are here, my family is here.”
"Why do you insist on staying stuck in Hawkins? You have so much potential, Steve. You could go anywhere, do anything, but you're choosing not to."
The word slipped out before you could see the impact cut across Steve’s hurt face. It was the same word that Tommy had used just the other month and from Steve’s furrowed brows, you could tell it struck a nerve again.
"I'm not stuck, okay?” He gritted. “This is where I belong right now. I've got responsibilities here."
"Responsibilities? What about your own dreams, Steve? What about your future?" you pressed again, exasperated at the fact that almost a week later and he still wasn’t seeing it.
"I've got people here who rely on me here, despite what you want or think." he countered, a hint of defensiveness in his voice.
"But what about you? Have you ever thought about what you want?" you shot back, feeling the weight of the disagreement hit again.
He hesitated for a moment, eyes cast down on the ground before he could meet your gaze again. "Maybe I've never really thought about all of it. But I can't just up and leave everything behind.”
"It's not about leaving everything behind, Steve. It's about growing, exploring, finding your own path,"
There was a life for Steve outside of Hawkins. Outside of you, and though your main point was to have him explore that life with you, it was hurting to see that he didn’t want that for himself.
“Look, I know it’s new for me to not agree to what you want, but this isn’t by choice. Even when I was with Nancy, I told her the same thing. I’d stick around, make sure she was okay and work here. I wanna do that for everyone.”
Bringing up Nancy brought up a sour feeling that you shoved down. Knowing that in some way, this was Steve’s poor excuse. “I’m not Nancy Wheeler. Okay? I’m not gonna sit back and let the boy I love waste potential in a place that doesn’t deserve him.” you glared. “And in case you can’t tell, the others are all grown up now. They’re in high school, Robin is following up right after me in graduating. What happens when they’re all gone, Steve? Is that the time you figure out you wanna be with me?”
Steve circled back towards you, finger pointing over at you. “That’s not fair for you to say. You know I want you, God, it’s literally the one thing that’s been consistent since I met you. Why can’t you understand that me being here doesn’t mean I’m not with any plans of my own, huh? Why is it automatically your way or nothing?”
Tears welled up in your eyes the longer you stared at Steve. “Then tell me!” you cried out. Frustrated that you pushed him into thinking things had to go your way. “Tell me what it is you want! Because as far as I know it just sounds like excuses to not be with me!”
“I thought I made that clear a while ago. I want you, dammit!” he yelled, moving to gently place his hands on your shoulders. “Please, can we just pause this? I need some time to figure this out. Can we... can we take a break from this?"
You held your breath. Not quite ready to have Steve be so suddenly upset from all this. You couldn’t help but think back to what Jonathan warned you about. Steve wasn’t ready to leave this place. Even if you didn’t understand, it didn’t change how he felt. No matter how much you wished it would.
“What’s gonna change in the next six months, Steve? We fall even harder for each other and break up then? When are we finally gonna stop going in circles over this and realize we’re on different paths?”
“Different paths?” he asked softly, confusion over his face.
 “Yeah,” you sniffled. “Different paths..”
His jaw slacked a bit and you tried to keep your composure tough but the realization is hitting harder than you thought it would. Before you know it, your vision of Steve is suddenly blurred by your tears and you’re swaying in place to keep from running back in the house to burst into a sob.
 “Honey..”
“I think we want different things, Steve. I want to explore, grow, and I thought we'd do that together. But if you can't leave Hawkins..then I need to understand that I can't ask you to." Wiping at your eyes, your sight cleared up to catch his expression mirrored the same anguish you felt inside.“I never meant to push this choice onto you. Not when you weren’t ready. I want you to want things with me. But if you aren’t ready then I need to let you go..”
“Please,” he pleaded, “I love you.”
"I love you too," you whispered, ignoring the ice that was gripping onto your heart at the moment. "But if we keep this same argument months later..who knows what might happen. We might even grow to hate each other..”
He reached for your hand, desperation in his eyes as he pulled you closer. "We can work this out. We've been through so much worse than this."
"I know, but this is different," you said softly, pulling your hand away gently. "I feel like we both need to figure ourselves out.”
"I don't want to lose you," he pleaded, voice cracking.
"I don't want to lose you either," you admitted, tears streaming down your cheeks. "But I need to move forward. And I don’t think I can do that when I know there’s going to be pain in the future.”
He looked broken as he watched you take a step back. Hand twitching out to you before he brought it down to his side. "What... what do you want me to do?"
The words felt like knives, but they needed to be said. "I need you to let me go too, Steve..”
His eyes glistened with unshed tears, his silence speaking volumes. "So this is it?" he finally whispered. “After everything we’re just..over?”
“Please, Steve.” you pleaded softly. “Let me go too.”
his hand reached up to cup your cheek, his gaze searching into yours. "This is what you really want?" You nodded, feeling a lump form in your throat.
 "Yes."
His lips met yours in a tender, bittersweet kiss, filled with all the love, and heartache that lingered between the two of you. It was a goodbye in itself, a lingering moment that you wished would go on for an eternity.
When you pulled back, you carefully reached up to return the necklace, feeling like you were the person least deserving to wear his sign of love. But Steve quickly reached out to stop your hands. Shaking his head as he carefully readjusted it on you.
“I’m– it’s yours. Regardless if we break up or not.”
Tears welled up in your eyes as you clutched the necklace tightly. "Steve..."
"Please," he insisted softly. "You wanted me to make some decisions for myself? You keeping that is one of them.”
With a heavy heart, you watched as Steve stepped away from you. Hand reaching up to pinch at the side of his nose as he tried to conceal his emotions from coming through. It took everything in you to let him return back to his car.
You thought back to what Jonathan had said about doing what your heart thought was right. Even if it was to the disappointment of others.
Little did you know it’d be you who was disappointed in the end.
Tumblr media
 JANUARY (THREE WEEKS LATER)
It had been a long dead night over at Family Video. The soft radio playing from the speakers was the only noise between you and Robin for the past hour. Something you were a little grateful for considering the awkwardness that came in when you first clocked in for your night shift.
It was three weeks since that night in the driveway and things within your small group of friends had turned painfully stagnant. Whether it be from your three week reclusive approach, or Steve’s avoiding one. No one knew how to handle the break up. Hell, neither one of you would so why would your friends be able to?
But along with the sadness between you and Steve came the awkwardness with Robin. Stuck between being friends with the both of you. It wasn’t until a couple of days ago that she had slipped up about knowing the details of everything that happened. Causing your walls to momentarily come up around her.
But that happened over a week ago and you were really trying not to push away one of your newer friends all because of a bad breakup. Robin was nice to you before even knowing Steve personally. So with that in mind, you tried your best the whole night to be friendlier. Or as friendly as you could be. But that didn’t mean it was going to be easy.
Robin had restocked the snacks, you organized the return tapes, and then lastly the two of you worked together to set up a promo spot for tomorrow’s movie selections, All in record timing. Once Robin noticed you were slowly opening up again, she seemed to be keen to make up for the few awkward hours before.
“I don’t know how I feel about Weird Science.” Robin sighed, looking over the stack of movies facing the door. You set down the clipboard with the list of things to order for tomorrow to go join her on the other side of the counter.
“I know. But, considering we’ve got Fright Night and Teen Wolf up, it’s at least keeping with the whole sciencey-horror theme.”
“There’s absolutely nothing horror to do with Weird Science.” Robin scoffed as she adjusted one of the boxes, scrunching her nose over at the mini poster for Teen Wolf. “Keith’s gonna kill us.”
“It can be considered scary if you’re bad at Science?” you tried, looking back over to her. She had a knowing look on her face that had your confidence in the set up crumpling. “Okay, he might. But just say I did it.”
“Right.” she snorted. “It’s not like he’d ever tell you anything anyway.”
Reaching back for the stock list, you go over all the candies once more before sighing. It’s been a slow night and you weren’t looking forward to another hour here. But this was the life of a working teen and you were oddly still putting up with it.
Robin, who was quietly tidying up around the register, suddenly let out a loud gasp. “Oh no!” she said, reaching down the counter for her bag. You quickly left the candy area to join back at her side. Looking at her worriedly.
 “What’s wrong?”
She pulled out a miniature calendar from her bag. Flipping through the pages rapidly until she landed on one with scribbled notes on it. “I completely forgot to write up the assignment needed for the Terminator’s class.”
The familiar name amused you momentarily before you glanced over her shoulder to see the circled date. “Shit.” you frowned, “How many pages do you need?”
“Just three, but I barely had my notes put together yesterday.” she looked through her bag for another notebook before flipping through them for a certain spot. “God I’m gonna have to pull an all-nighter after this.”
Glancing at your watch, you wince at the late hour. “You need more time.”
She ignored you momentarily to push back the notebook and calendar into her bag before coming back up. Biting her lip in worry. You couldn’t help but feel bad for your friend. Feeling the familiar panic of academic stress. Pushing the phone towards her, you nudge for her to take the receiver. “Call Steve to pick you up. Then at least you can get started sooner.”
“What?” she gaped, looking at the clock on the back wall. “No, I-I can’t do that! You’d be by yourself.”
“It’s fine, Robin.” you reassured her, pushing the handle into her hands. “Steve will get here fast, and you’ll at least get a big enough head start and maybe catch some hours of sleep before school.”
“No,” she shook her head. “I wouldn’t feel right leaving you by yourself. What if some creepy guy comes in and murders you?”
You stood still blinking over at her. Wondering why she’d mention something so creepy at a time like this. “Not that I needed that new fear, but I’ll be safe. I’m a big girl.” You take the base of the phone, dialing the number practically engraved in your mind before pushing it to her ear. “What I do need is for you to study. So get to begging.”
There’s a moment of worry on her face before the sound of Steve’s voice perked up through the phone. She thankfully gets the idea of you not backing down from your offer and asks Steve to come take her home. You give her a thumbs up and get the area ready to close off. Needing the distraction from the inevitable moment of seeing Steve again for the first time in days.
Robin helped too. Making sure the windows and backdoors were all checked and locked before joining you back in the front. It was only a couple of minutes before the headlights of Steve’s car shined through the store.
A part of you hated the idea of being alone. It was going to be creepy. But the sight of Steve stepping out of his car, hand combing through his lush hair, made you want more than ever for Robin to get out of here. The sound of the door ringing open snapped you into averting your gaze from the boy and you quickly meddled with the few papers in front of you to keep your focus on.
“Hey, you guys ready to go?”
“Uh, it’s just me, actually.” Robin said, grabbing her bag. “Henderson is gonna wait out till closing and for her Aunt to pick her up.”
Without even having to look up, you knew that Steve’s eyes were on you now. It was like a magnetic pull that he still had on you. But you couldn’t look up just yet. Not when you knew what kind of face he’d be giving you right now. “Is that true?” he asked softly.
“Uhh, yeah, I was gonna call her in twenty minutes and let her know.” you coughed, face down. The sound of his keys jingling was oddly loud, but not as loud as the sound of your heart beat.
Before you knew it, Steve moved to stand in front of you at the counter. Forcing you to finally make eye contact with him. His eyes were etched with the same worry that looked at you the night in your driveway. You tried not to visibly recoil from the ache that burst into your chest.
“I could come back for you.” he offered softly. A small bit of confidence in his voice.
“That’s fine, Steve. I’ll get home.”
“I’m serious,” he frowned. “I could just come back. You’d be able to close up and maybe get some–”
“NO.” you said quickly, having to physically take a step back. There’s a flicker of hurt over Steve’s face and he’s balled up the fist holding onto his keys. You can’t help but feel like how it was that second year here when you were cruel to him on purpose. Pushing him away from having still been mad at him.
You didn’t feel good then and you don’t feel good now.
“I’ll be fine,” you said more nicely after a minute of awkward silence. “You should take her home..she really needs the extra time.”
He glanced over at Robin, giving her a questioning look, but all she did was mouth a please to him before he nodded his head. Backing away from the counter almost defeatedly. “Be safe.” he said softly, shuffling over towards the front door.
Taking that as a leaving cue, Robin picked up her bag from the counter. Reaching over to place her hand over yours as she threw you a sympathetic smile. “I owe you a million for this. Call me later so I know you’re okay?”
“A million and one.” you said softly, trying to smile back. But with Steve’s presence there you’re sure it’s more wincing than you wished. “I’ll call you.” you added.
The two make their leave after that agreement. Quietly making their exit from the store while you stayed over at the counter. They quickly enter the car, leaving you and family video alone for the rest of the night.

Thirty minutes later and you’re done with the store being dead. If Keith wanted to get mad at you for closing early, then he could pout about it in the office tomorrow. Right now, all you wanted was to get into your bed and try not to think about the haunting brown eyes that looked at you with such concern tonight.
Picking up the phone, you made an attempt to reach out to someone at home. But with your Aunt possibly still out and Dustin most likely hanging out with your friends, there’s no one there to answer your call. You’re suddenly filled with panic of how the hell you’re getting out of here.
A part of you thinks it might be fine to just call Steve. It’s not like he’d be upset since he was so adamant before. But even the short car ride home would be long enough for that horrible pain to come back in and you didn’t think you could handle that. Nor did you want to put Steve through that either.
Looking at your watch, you realize you’ll at least be able to make the last bus for the night if you close up now.
Rushing to the back, you make a move to grab your jacket and purse, ready to lock up and get the hell out of here. But before you could grab the keys, you could hear the sound of the door’s bell jingle.
“Dammit!” you whispered to yourself. Of course tonight you’d still have to deal with annoying customers. Turning off the light in the room, you grab the keys and slowly enter back into the front. “Uh hey, sorry but we’re actually closing up–”
The sight of an empty front desk killed off your words instantly.
“Hello?” you called out. Taking a small hesitant step, you enter the counter booth and try to peer out into the store. There isn’t a soul in the place.
Biting your lip, you reached over to the phone on the counter. Unsure of who’d you’d even cal-
 “Lovely night, isn’t it?”
You let out a small yelp, grabbing the clipboard near you and swatting it to the direction of the mysterious voice.
 “OW!”
Peeking your eyes open, you’re welcomed to the sight of Eddie rubbing the side of his head. A glare on his face as he looked over at you.
“Is that how you greet all your customers?” he chided.
Setting down the clipboard, you use your hands to lean against the counter. Getting in some air to help calm you down before you looked back up at Eddie again. This time you used your hand to slap at his arm.
“OKAY! Really?!” he asked as he moved to rub his hand.
“Yes, Eddie, really! Why the hell did you come in and scare me like that?”
“Scare you?” he scoffed. “I said it was a nice night!”
Frowning, you crossed your arms over your chest. “Oh yeah? And so sneaking up behind me as I called out to a totally empty store didn’t make you think I’d freak out?”
“I thought you’d enjoy a different kind of greeting.”
Sighing, you turned away from Eddie, ignoring his presence momentarily so that you could finish up all that you needed before you’d eventually push him out. Even if you were about to have a heart attack, you’d still make it in time to catch that bus.
“So I’m bored tonight.” Eddie yawned out, moving to stand in front of the counter before you. Unaware that you’ve moved on to closing up rather than waiting around.
“How fun.” you replied back, collecting the inventory papers together.
He tapped his hands against the counter, looking over the place before the VHS display caught his attention. “None of these go together.” he snorted, picking up one of the tapes. “Weird Science wasn’t even scary.”
“I wasn’t going for scary.” you muttered, reaching out to grab the tape from his hands to set out on the counter. “I was going for..sciencey-horror..ish.”
“Ish?” he smirked. “When did they bring in that genre?”
“They brought it in just for Family Video, didn’t you know?” you shrugged.
He reached over for the copy of Fright Night next. Reading the back description out loud to himself before his gaze returned back on you. “Got a thing for vamps?”
“Nah, but that Chris Sarandon is kinda hot.” you said quickly as you grabbed the tape and scanned it into the checkout before Eddie could change his mind. “Will that be all tonight?”
He finally caught on to how rushed you were making things. Dramatically, he spun around to look around the store as if he had a line of people waiting behind him.
“Are you trying to kick me out, Princess?”
“Yes!” you laughed, waving your hand out for him to pass over the rental fee. “If I close the store now I can catch the last bus home.”
Reaching into his pockets, he pulled out a couple of crumpled up dollar bills for you. “Why the hell are you taking the bus this late? It’s not safe.”
You want to tell him because a giant flesh monster scrunched your car up into a ball last summer. But since that wasn’t an option, you settled for the semi truthful answer. “Because I have no car and need to get home.”
He watched in silence as you flattened out the crumbled money before adding it to the registry. You noticed that he’s given more than needed and figure he’s already prepaying for his inevitable late fee.
 “So..why don’t I just give you a ride home?”
You waited until you closed the register before looking over at him. There was a bit of pink to his cheeks and you wondered how someone who had this usual odd confidence could be nervous about offering a ride.
“You know, Robin warned me about creepy guys coming in tonight.” you teased, watching as his face turned from nervous to shock.
“Offering a ride constitutes me being creepy now?”
“Probably.” you laughed as you watched Eddie cross his arms over his chest. “Besides, I wouldn’t want to be a bother to your night anyway. You were probably coming in to grab a movie and head home.”
“It’d be an honor to drive you home, Henderson. Lord knows I gotta work on doing the whole nice friend thing.”
 “Oh and we’re friends suddenly?”
 “It’s what I’d call us.”
Quickly, you closed up the computer, shutting it down so that you can end the night finally. “You kinda have to know a thing or two about each other before you can say you’re friends.” you pointed out before reaching down to grab your stuff.
“You know a lot about me.”
 “Like?”
He tapped at the cover of the tape smiling at you. “That I got a thing for vamps too.” he winked, making you roll your eyes. “Besides, what better way to get to know each other better than with a nice ride home?”
You let out a small sigh, unsure what the hell you were just about to agree to. But if he was cool enough to hang out with Dustin and his friends. Then you shouldn’t dwell too much on the simple favor. Right?
“It wouldn’t be trouble for you?”
“You’re trouble, that’s for sure.” he chuckled. “But the ride isn’t.”
The words sound all too familiar to you and you can’t help but blink a couple of times over at him. He’s not aware of the history of that nickname, and you hold back on telling him in favor of nodding your head.
“Let’s head out then.” you said instead.
The next five minutes are left with you closing up the store with Eddie closely behind you. Talking about his recent venture out to Indianapolis for the weekend and how he’s excited to finally finish up the school year, again.
Oddly, you found yourself actually enjoying his company. It was sort of light spirited and completely free of problems. Something you haven’t had in a while. The only downside was playing down events that took part in the time you’ve dealt with the upside down. Like how you became close to Nancy and Jonathan. Or why Billy’s break up with you was a bigger deal and the fight he had with Steve. Or the damn mall fire. Everything had to be vague, but Eddie didn’t seem to mind. He actually enjoyed talking less about the heavy stuff and focusing instead on the more fun.
It was nice not to really think of the stresses you were bound to have this year and focus on silly things. Like what sort of bands Eddie listened to.
“So Iron Maiden isn’t a cool rock band led by girls?”
“It’s like you’re musically inept outside of pop.” Eddie laughed as he parked his car just on the street of your house. You couldn't help but laugh at his reaction before you shrugged your shoulders.
“It’s not all pop. I like rock too.”
“Really? You like rock. Like who?”
“Joan Jett.” you said simply after thinking it over for a second. “She’s got killer makeup, great voice, good music. I love her songs. ” He raised a brow at you, almost waiting out to see if you were fibbing or not.
“She is pretty cool.” he agreed eventually before slapping gently at the wheel. “All right, that settles it. The Henderson family is officially a lot cooler than I expected.”
“Oh?” you laughed. “You’re just figuring this out now?”
“Not to mention you’re all so humble too.”
You playfully slapped his shoulder. “Don’t you forget it.” you smirked, reaching down to grab your bag from the floor. “Thank you for the ride and music lesson. I guess that means people from the Munson family are a lot nicer than I expected.”
“Ahh, that stings a little.” he laughed, shaking his head. “But honestly, I think you should just say that the Munson family are nice to people like you.”
“People like me?” you frowned, unsure what he meant exactly by that. “Care to elaborate?”
“I would,” he said as he glanced towards your driveway. “But it’s late and a gentleman should never keep a lady from getting some sleep.”
 “Suddenly you’re a gentleman?”
“Get out of my van.” he deadpanned, waving you off. “Here I am trying to charm you and you’re throwing me off with your quips.”
With a giggle you climbed down from the seat, ready to close the door after you when suddenly a thought came into mind. “Maybe we can hang out again?” you said softly, unsure of where you were going with this offer. “You can tell me what kind of person I’m like and maybe show me more of those groups you wouldn’t shut up about?”
Eddie’s chest rose as he quickly sucked in some air. His brown eyes widened in shock before he quickly changed his face back to his familiar smile. “And you’d be okay hanging out with a creep like me?”
 “Wouldn’t be my first time.”
He seemed to question that answer before he shrugged his shoulders. “You got a deal. I’ll uh, see you soon then.” He held up the VHS tape with a small smile. “That is if Chris Sarandon doesn’t get me.”
“Oh that’s terrible.” You laughed, finding humor in his cheesy words. But instead of being embarrassed, he only grinned wider. Like that was the reaction he was looking for.
“As long as it’s gotcha laughing.” He winked before changing the gear in his car. “Till next time, Princess!”
You waved him off, waiting until he was turned around and back on the street before making your way up the driveway to your house. It’s odd but you found that you’re smiling genuinely about something for the first time in weeks. And it’s because of Eddie Munson of all people. Making a new friend must have been the thing you needed right now. Especially when you thought about how much you’d be laughing when you got to hang out with him again.
“Your Aunt’s car looks a lot like Eddie Munson’s van.” said a voice suddenly, disrupting your thoughts.
It scared you a bit. Causing you to let out a small gasp as your head snapped towards the direction of the noise.
At your house stood Steve. Back resting against the front door with his head hung to keep his gaze downward and off from you. The gravel beneath your feet was the only noise as you slowly made your way over.
“What are you doing here?” you asked slightly out of breath. Your composure was calm but the sight of Steve standing there had you feeling anxious.
“I drove by your house and noticed no one was home..was worried you’d still be stuck at the store.”
 “Oh.”
He pushed himself off the wall, closing the rest of the gap that kept you two apart. On his face was a look you weren’t quite place. Was it anger? Disappointment? Worry? Jealousy?
“I could’ve come back for you.”
“Steve..” you sighed. He held up a hand, shaking his head as he seemingly tried to calm himself down.
“We wouldn’t have had to talk. It could have been just a ride. You’d have never needed to talk to Eddie Munson or get a ride from him.”
There’s a hint of disdain the way he dragged out Eddie’s name and you couldn’t help but sigh again. This was something you had worried about when Dustin had started to hang out with Eddie. The two were close these days. With how long that ridiculous game took, it’d be crazy for them to not have bonded by now. And while you knew deep down that your cousin could hold strong friendships with everyone. Steve did not.
For a short while, Dustin was the closest thing he had to a best friend before Robin came into the picture. But the very idea of Steve hating a simple ride from Eddie threw you off.
“He came to rent a movie right when I tried calling home. Okay?” you crossed your arms, tilting your head a bit. “He’s a nice guy..he offered the ride when I told him I didn’t have a car.”
“But I could have come. I would have.”
“I didn’t want you to come.” You said slowly watching again as the bitter truth caused the hurt cut across Steve’s face. “We haven’t been alone in weeks. The silence would only make things..painful.”
His head dropped quickly to look back to the ground while you wrapped your arms around yourself. This wasn’t the kind of shit you wanted to add to Steve’s list of problems. The break up was hard..period. But no matter how you go about things, you can’t stop this pain from coming in.
“I just wanted to make sure you were safe..”
 “I know..thank you.”
He looked back up and raised a hand. Almost like he was going to reach out for you. And while you were dying to feel the touch of his skin again, doing that would probably only make things harder on the two of you. So without another thought, you took a step back from him.
His hand dropped quickly, stuffing into his pocket while he covered up his face with his other hand. Rubbing at the corners of his nose before he turned his gaze back towards the road. There was a glazed sort of look in his eyes.
“Right, so you’re here. I’ll just uh, head back home.”
You’re about to nod your head, but Steve didn’t even get the chance to see as he quickly turned and dashed away from your side. Moving towards the direction of the driveway. The sight of his retreating figure only hurt your chest even more as your thoughts were plagued with all the things he must be thinking right now.
The night of Tina’s Halloween party came into mind. The way he looked driving you home after hearing the truth from Nancy’s drunken confession. Before you know it, you’re chasing after him.
“Steve?” you called out when you reached close to his backside. He spun around quickly, almost bumping into you and causing you to fall back. But he quickly reached out to catch you. Cradling you close to his side until you were able to get your footing right.
“Are you alright?” He asked, checking over you before he let go. His eyes were red and even if it weren’t cold you’d know it was from how he was probably feeling right now.
Reaching out, you couldn’t help but cup at his cheek. Watching as his eyes slipped close from the relaxing touch. It’s been weeks since either of you have been able to share this kind of comfort. An intimate moment that you shouldn’t be having with him. Not when things were already so hard. But just because things were over doesn’t mean the need to make sure Steve was okay could go away so easily. Especially when in moments like this, when he still meant the world to you.
“I need time.” you said quickly, ignoring the worried voice in your head.
“Time?” he asked softly, eyes opening slowly to look down at you. The pad of your thumb brushed over his cheek and you could feel the warmth underneath. Your mind replays a supercut of all the moments you’ve felt that cheek. Kissing, against your own, against your body.
God this was a mess. You were a mess.
“I need time to feel comfortable around you again..I need to get over you, Steve. But I can’t do that if you’re still trying to be my hero..”
“Hero.” he chuckled sadly, shaking his head from your gip. The brim of his eyes were red and he looked suddenly tired. “Never really did a good job of that, huh? Guess I’m supposed to be just your coworker now?”
For a second you couldn’t speak. Only shaking your head no as you tried to reassure him that what he was thinking wasn’t true. He was everything to you. He could never be anything as casual as a coworker. But at the moment, you didn’t know what you could call Steve. He wasn’t your boyfriend, nor your enemy, and friend felt wrong.
 “You’re just..Steve.”
His throat bobbed. Like that was the worst answer he was expecting. And though you wanted to reach out again and pull him close, you couldn’t. Because this was just how things had to be. Just the two of you stuck in this limbo of love and loss.
“Right,” he said after a minute. “Just..Steve.”
You opened your mouth, ready to apologize if what you said came off worse than you thought. But Steve quickly caught onto that and held a hand up, waving you off a bit. “I get it.” he said a bit curtly. “I’ll see you around, Hone–Troub– Henderson.”
Again he’s gone from your side without a proper look at your reaction. He practically sprinted over to his car across the street, not once turning back. It was only a second after he pushed himself into his seat that his car was revving to life and leaving the block.
You waited out until you couldn’t see the taillights of his car before you forced yourself inside the house.
The usual warmth of your home wasn’t welcoming at all. All it reminded you was how cold you were feeling and no matter what, nothing could thaw out this permafrost that surrounded your heart. The empty house taunted you with the loneliness you were feeling.
That’s because you’re alone now. (Tick)
“I’m not alone.” you whispered softly, making your way to your room.
 You will be. (Tock)

 FEBRUARY (VALENTINE’S DAY)
It’s four weeks after that night in front of your house that you found yourself with Eddie Munson again. The two of you have changed simple hang outs into make outs, then into something else you couldn’t quite place. This night in particular, you found yourself knocking on his trailer door after work.
 “Fuck, don’t stop.” Eddie groaned.
The two of you were sitting on the dingy couch. Some loud tv show playing in the background as you straddled Eddie’s strong thigh. It’s been like this for a while now. What was originally just a chance to makeout with someone you trusted on Valentine’s day. Turned into Eddie flirting with you and you eventually feeling the need to make up for his lack of dating life.
It was Valentine’s day and you had unfortunately worked the night shift over at Family Video. Something you would have been pissed about last year. But considering the current changes in your love life, you didn’t have the room to be too upset. Especially when you found out you worked with Robin. That gave the two of you five hours to complain about how complicated love was.
Kind of like how your relationship with Eddie had turned from friends to..complicated.
“God, you’re so whiny.” you smirked, pausing the movements of your hands. You glanced down to his lap, getting another look at the size of Eddie’s cock. It was red and hard against the base of his stomach. Weeping from the tip from the few strokes you had given him. It was only the second time you’ve done this with Eddie and you’re still stunned by how he gets from a simple handjob.
“Shut up.” he gritted, letting his head sag back against the couch. “If you’d have any idea how good you are at this, you’d be just as desperate too.” The ego boost does something to you, and you quickly lean in to press your lips roughly against his. Causing the boy to let out a loud groan before he fought back.
The kiss was so different from your past boyfriends. Billy had always been so dominant, taking what he wanted without thinking too much if you liked it or not. Steve’s was sweet, hot, and romantic. As if it were the last kiss on Earth. And Eddie’s was fierce. Like he wanted you to remember him hours later.
The tip of his tongue poked through your lips, brushing against yours as he deepened the kiss. His hand went down from your neck to grab at your hips. Pulling you closer into his lap. It made your head spin a bit but you pulled back enough to tighten your grip around his cock. Picking up the pace with your wrist. During times like this, Eddie never lasted long. He was already riding high from just kissing, and with the added teasing he’d never make it long.
His other arm moved to grip at your thigh. Digging his fingers with every jerk that his hips gave as he reached closer to his climax. He jerked his leg up, giving you a slight sensation between your legs as you straddled him. While small, the touch was stimulating enough to have your eyes fluttering a bit. It’s been a while since you’ve really let anyone get you this aroused but you’re finding it hard not to roll your hips.
“That is, princess.” he cooed, making your face get a hot flush. “Let me make you feel good.”
The dirty words had your head spinning a bit and you pulled back enough to stick your face into his neck. Sucking lightly against the vein on his neck while continuing to jerk your wrist. Eddie’s breathing began to grow louder.
“Yes, fuck, please don’t stop.” Eddie rasped, letting the wrecked voice send a chill up your back. It pleased you to know you had this boy at the mercy of your hands. Moving your hand and wrist faster now in order to work him over. You made sure to use your long nails at the sensitive skin of his cock, causing Eddie to whimper whenever it was dragged closer to his slit.
He moved to rest his face against your neck, pressing soft kisses at your skin while his other hand moved to cup at your breast. The only material keeping him from touching your warm skin being the bra you managed to keep on during his fondling earlier.
The gentle squeezing plus the ridge on his thigh you were rolling on hit just the right spot to have you letting out a moan yourself. Unfortunately, with how close Eddie was, there wasn’t going to be a chance for you to come with him.
“Come for me, Ed.” you whispered into his ear, another shudder falling from him. Stopping your rolling, you gave the base of his cock one good squeeze before jerking at a quicker pace.
The base of his member twitched in your hands and when Eddie let go of your breast, you watched in awe as he gripped to your hips, focusing down at your movements before he let out a loud guttural moan.
Ropes of white hot cum began to shoot out from the slit of his cock, coating your hand as you carefully continued with the jerking motion. It wasn’t until you watched as Eddie’s head fell back from ecstasy that you gently let go of him.
The mess before you doesn’t help with your sudden unattended arousal, but you remove yourself anyway. Quietly letting him know you were going to clean yourself off. The water quickly washed away all the remnants of your night and you quickly glanced up to fix up your appearance. The sight of your necklace quickly stole your attention.
The small single ‘S’ sitting on the middle of your chest brought a pang of guilt to your chest. You hadn’t taken off the necklace since the night Steve gave it to you. Something that was probably wrong considering what you were just doing with Eddie. But wearing it brought you a sense of comfort that you couldn’t bring yourself to give up.
After you got yourself together, you emerged from the bathroom to find Eddie was still on the couch. He was tucked back in his pants but still with the belt unbuckled as he continued to catch his breath. A small snicker fell past your lips and you quickly covered your mouth when his eyes turned to look over at you.
“It’s not funny.” he frowned, trying not to smile at your amusement. “I’m literally a mess and you’re looking over at me with that goofy grin on your face.”
“My face is never goofy.” you said as a matter of fact, hand reaching up to gently hold onto the necklace. “If anything, it’s your position that’s goofy.”
Eddie held a hand up, pretending to mimic your voice through his hand while you moved towards the couch. It was a struggle to find your sweater amongst the mess of the room, especially when you just threw it behind you earlier. But before you could bend over to pick up the item, Eddie had climbed up from the couch to you.
Placing his hands gently at your hips so that he could have you face him. “Let me make you feel good, Princess. I know you didn’t get to come.” he said softly, rubbing his thumbs on the bare expanse of your stomach.
It hurt to look up into Eddie’s eyes. They were warm and so full of a genuine interest in you. Like you were the only person he cared to look at. It made moments like this confusing. Where your mind knew that this would make you feel right and move on, but something in your heart made it hard to follow through it.
Letting go of the necklace, you reached out to cup the side of Eddie’s face. Letting your thumb brush across the apple of his cheek before you gently pressed a kiss. “I’m fine.” you said softly, getting out of his grip to reach for the sweater. From the side of your eyes, you could see that Eddie was watching you as you pulled the material over your head.
From his calmness you knew where this conversation was going to go. It’s not the first time Eddie’s pointed out an offer nor would it likely be his last.
“Hey,” he coughed softly, shuffling awkwardly closer so he could rest a hand against your arm. “I didn’t mean to put you off.” Calmly you moved over to place yours on top, rubbing soothingly in hopes to get that worried look off his face.
“It’s okay.” you said softly, not really having the courage to tell him what you were thinking. “Like I said, I’m fine with what we’re doing now.”
Eddie reached out and gently brushed a hair away from your face. “Are you?” he asked slowly. “Or..are you I don’t know, nervous? I mean shit, I’m more than grateful for what we do now..and labels are shit. But if you’re wanting to be something more official in order to feel comfortable doing more then I’m more than happy to–”
“I like us being friends, Eddie.” you cut in. Scared for what words might come out next. You weren’t ready for that kind of talk. “Even if what we’re doing is not the most normal thing friends do. I like just hanging out and having fun.”
There’s a flicker of something in Eddie’s eyes. Like he might have wanted a different answer. But he threw you his signature goofy smile and leaned in to press a mushy, rough kiss to your lips. Causing you to laugh against his hold.
“Sounds good to me, Princess. Now I’ve kept you stuck in this dump long enough. You should probably head off home.”
You turned your watch over, noting that while it was a little bit late, it wasn’t the worst you’ve come home at. But since Eddie’s Uncle might be coming home soon, it’d probably be easier to leave now than stick around and dance around the friends with semi benefits relationship.
“I’ll see you later, Eddie. You rest up.” you smiled, taking a step back from him. He chuckled at that, waving you off as you quickly made your way out the trailer door. The residents of Forest Hills trailer park were quiet that night. A dark and eerie chill going up your spine as you made your way over to your Aunt’s car. Across the way you glanced towards Max’s trailer.
The majority of her lights were all off aside from one flickering light from the main front window. Things had been rough for her lately. Ever since her stepdad took off and her Mother started working two jobs just to keep a roof over their heads. Things haven’t been the easiest. Especially with the sudden downsizing in lifestyle.
You wished you could make things easier. But honestly, you didn’t have much you could say to Max that you thought would make her feel better. The events of the summer battle caught up to her and she began to close everyone off. Including you.
She was protecting herself from others. Every approach was met with a cold wall that you couldn’t crack. No matter what you or her friends did, she was a different girl now. She was here in Hawkins but her mind was somewhere else. And if you were being honest, you’d say that you were starting to feel the same.
Your mind was busy focusing on other things like school, work, and your new thing with Eddie. But your heart wasn’t in it. Not the way it should be. It was permanently stuck in a loop of being unable to enjoy the new life you were making for yourself. All because of a boy in Loch Nora who still had power over it.
Which was where you were now.
Through the lush houses of the neighborhood and up the driveaway of the path that led to the Harrington household. You’ve been there so many times, but for the first ever you’re nervous to be there. You shouldn’t be here.
And you definitely shouldn’t be getting out of the car to walk to the front door. And you really shouldn’t be knocking..
It only took Steve about a minute to come up to the door. He was more cleaned up since the last time you saw him. His hair was a little shorter, and there was a noticeable little bit of stubble on his lips. Almost like he’s debating whether or not to grow a mustache or not. It’s kind of nice..
“Hey, you okay?” Steve asked worriedly. His brown eyes looked over your body, almost like he was checking to make sure you weren’t hurt. It was a little embarrassing. You didn’t mean to make him come down to the door, let alone be suddenly worried about you.
“I’m sorry…I just ended up here.” you whispered finally. Not really able to think of a better excuse to say. “I should go.”
He quickly stopped you by reaching out for your hand. It’s almost like an electric shock to have such contact from him again but you don’t dare let go of his warmth just yet.
 “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing.” you shook your head. “I just wanted to–”
 “See me?” He asked softly.
You look at him for a long time. Feeling such an overwhelming amount of unsurety. Steve was someone who managed to wedge himself into your trust again. He earned it. But right now you were finding yourself struggling to be fully open to him. The thoughts running through your head were leading to a place where you two couldn’t go down. Not when things were so different now.
“It’s Valentine’s day,” you said lamely, wincing a bit at the dumb words that quickly came into mind. “D-did you go out?..”
“You drove all the way over to my house to ask me that?”
“..yes.” you lied, not needing him to know it was more like an impulsive need to see him tonight than some random inquiry.
Steve looked a little bit taken back. Probably not quite believing the answer, but eventually went ahead and nodded his head. “Yeah,” he said honestly, to your heart’s dismay. “Uh, with Molly Stevens. I knew her from school last year.”
Nodding your head, you tried to control the jealousy that started to fill up in your throat. You have absolutely no right to feel this way about Steve. None whatsoever. But the very idea of him out with another girl brought up such a venom to your throat.
“Did you guys..” you waved your arms in front of you in a mindless motion. Stupidly unable to speak the words you’re dreading to hear. Steve looked only slightly amused as he crossed his arms over his chest like he’s caught you in your lie. The dark green shirt looked tight on his biceps, distracting you from that fact very quickly.
“No.” he answered simply. “Didn’t feel right.”
“Right.” you nodded, letting out a small sigh of relief. “That’s um..good. I mean, not good but it’s um—“
“And what about you?” He interrupted, raising a brow to you. “Did you go out?”
 “I worked tonight..”
He turned his wrist over, frowning down at the time his watch displayed to him. “It’s eleven thirty. Store closed at ten.”
“I may have..gone to hang out with a friend.”
 “With Eddie.” he corrected.
 “Yes.”
His lips pursed a bit before he took a step closer to you. Pushing your back to rest against the threshold of his door. “And did you guys..?”
“No, not that.” You said evenly, gauging his reaction. “..but something like it.”
For a moment Steve looked stunned. Like the words froze him in place. Now that previous venom is turning into guilt. He didn’t even do anything besides go out on an innocent date and here you were ready to burn Hawkins to find her. Meanwhile you were the one actually doing more with another guy.
For someone that didn’t want to hurt Steve, you sure did so easily.
“I’m sorry.. I should go.” You whispered, feeling like you’ve put the guy through enough as of lately. Before you could fully turn around Steve had already reached out for your hand, keeping you in place.
The look on his face isn’t the same sad one you saw flicker moments before. It was determined now. Like he was fully trying to understand what you were saying before him. Carefully, he leaned down to press his face inches before yours. The small fan of his sigh brushed over your face.
The closeness should make you nervous. It should make you want to step back. But you’re curious to what he would say next.
“So you mess around with Munson and still end up at my doorstep?” He asked softly. There’s a slight darkness in his tone that should warn you how bad an idea this is. But again, you ignored it. “Did he not make you feel good?”
“He made me feel..fine.” you whispered back. Not sure how much you want to deep dive into whatever it is you and Eddie were doing. Turning your head up a bit, you peered up at him, placing your hand to rest gently on Steve’s chest to both keep him from getting closer and to get a chance to feel his heartbeat.
 “Just fine? Not good?”
“Steve,” you sighed. “We shouldn’t be talking about this.”
But your words only encouraged him to pull you inside of his home. Keeping an arm hugging at the side of your waist as he pressed your back against the closed door. The personal space is gone out the window now that he’s able to wedge himself between your legs.
It’s painfully embarrassing how your body is instinctively trying to wrap around him. But you managed to keep your flat back against the door and legs unwrapped from his waist. But Steve seemed to be aware of your inner dilemma, moving to press himself even closer.
“He doesn’t make you feel good, honey?” He said finally, moving his face down your face to your neck.
The old nickname had your body shuddering. It’s been too long since you’ve heard it. This was definitely not the way you thought the conversation would go. But you’re struggling to find a way out of it.
“What I’m feeling isn’t your concern anymore..”
“Oh, it definitely is”. His hand slid down your waist, down to your hip, the tip of his fingers nearly diving past the waistband of your jeans. He casually rubbed his thumb underneath the hem of your shirt. “I want you feeling better than just fine.”
“Yeah?” you asked softly, moving your hands to place against his shoulders now. They were itching to wrap around his neck, but you reminded yourself to keep from making things messier. Not that Steve seemed to care as he slid closer into the small space you had before.
“I want you to feel great.” he leaned down to your ear, pressing a kiss to the spot beneath your earlobe before he finished. “Actually, I want you feeling so fucked out of your mind that you wouldn’t dare go to another man’s house after fooling around with me.”
There’s a darkness in Steve’s words but not one you’re afraid of. In fact, you’re excited. It had your heart racing and core growing so hot that you had to slightly rub your thighs together from the excitement. “Is t-that all?” you managed to ask, unable to think of a better response.
“That's all I want right now.”
It’s hard not to feel that familiar spark that fires up your body when around Steve. You were feeling embarrassingly desperate for it at this point as you pulled him down towards you. “We shouldn’t be doing this. We’re broken up for a reason..”
“It’s a bad idea.” he agreed, brushing his lips carefully down your neck. He seemed to catch the sparkle of the gold chain around your neck and followed down the line to where the S laid on your chest. He then gently placed a soft kiss against it.
“We’re being so incredibly stupid right now.” you gasped, feeling his lips graze up again.
Though the tender touches were setting a blaze to your skin, it wasn’t quite satisfying the ache growing inside of you now. In fact, it was setting your whole body into a desperate, needy, frenzy.
“I gotta be honest with you, baby.” He said calmly.
“Honest?” you gulped, failing to get yourself to cool down.
“I really don’t care if we’re being stupid.”
Something took over you and you moved your hands up to grab hold of the hair at the nape of his neck. Pulling back so that you could get a good look at him. The browns in his eyes were gone and he looked at you with such a desire that you could feel yourself get embarrassingly aroused.
You should stop this. You should push him away and leave his house. Because there had to be something more important in life than having sex with Steve Harrington right now.
But you really couldn’t remember what.
“Fuck it.” You sighed shooting forward to press your lips against his. He didn’t waste his chance at all and wrapped his arms around. Using the palms to push down your lower back to press your chest closer to him.
At some point there’s a struggle with moving past the door and breaking the kiss apart. When air was needed, Steve quickly pulled back, pressing quick pecks to your lips before he turned to drag you up the stairs. Each step had your heart beating faster as you focused your sights on the warm glow coming out his bedroom door. Anticipation washing over you for whatever was going to happen next.
Once the two of you were in, he quickly shut the door behind him with the kick of his foot. Only giving you a second to catch your breath before he rushed over to capture your lips again.
“Tell me,” he said against your lips. His hands were already working on your clothes, shedding them off with no problem. “Tell me you want this.”
“I want this.” you said pulling back, moving to cup the sides of his face. “I want you.”
For a second it looked like Steve wanted to say something else, but you pushed to press your lips back together. Capturing up any words he had in order to get back into the greedy need that had been building up.
Then after that, there’s nothing else left. Just you and Steve.
Tumblr media
The clock besides Steve’s bed ticked softly as you lay in his arms. It’s only been a short amount of time since the two of you had your fun and you can feel how Steve is easily relaxed against you. Letting his hands rub over your bare skin while he held you close.
It should make you worried. Things between you two were over. You both made it that way. But the soft kisses he was pressing against your arm and neck were too distracting. The feeling of completeness was too good to give up so quickly. And with the way Steve keeps pausing to give you looks, you think he might be thinking the same.
What could either one of you do? It’s been such a long attempt to get over him but all you can feel is yourself falling again with every touch. If anything, you think you might be even more in love with him after this.
You think back to the night where Eddie dropped you off. It felt like Steve was done with you. But like yourself, one night of giving into each other’s needs seemed to fill you both with an urge neither of you could quite get rid of just yet.
His hand reached out to cup at the side of your face. Bringing your attention back to him again before he kissed you.
“Stay.” he said in between kissing you and down your cheek. No part of your face or body was left unscathed from his pink plump lips. You reveled in the sensation. Melting into his hold and allowing your body to relax again. It’s all you’ve missed these past few weeks. But even in Steve’s affection care, the worry of the real world sets in quickly with you.
“I can’t.” You said sadly. “It’s getting late.”
“Who cares? It’s Friday night.” he replied, kissing even more now that he realized it has some sort of effect on your emotions. “You don’t even work tomorrow, I do.”
“Your parents will be home soon, won’t they?”
“They love you. Might even wanna take you out for breakfast.” You pulled back to give him a knowing look. He smirked a little bit before he rolled his eyes. “Okay, they’d freak out, but we’ll be quiet.”
“I drove in my Aunt’s car..” you laughed, but turned to shuffle closer to him in the bed. He reached over to grab the back of your leg, moving your thigh now to drape over his waist. It brought your bare body dangerously close to his but he kept things tame for now. Moving to rub the palm of his hand on the round of your behind.
 “She can get it towed.”
Rolling your eyes at his convenient answer, you pushed at his chest lightly. Attempting to get out of his warm hold but he changed to bring his arm back up to wrap around your waist, locking you in place.
 “I’ll call the shop myself.”
 “Steve..”
Not wanting you to continue with the inevitable truth, he pressed his lips back onto yours. Shutting up the conversation and forcing you both to enjoy this fluke of a night. You give in to him, if only for a moment.
It’s unfair how this is the most comfortable you’ve felt in days and it’s because you’re in his arms. But as soon as you begin to wonder why it’s like this, you remember how it felt to be in his arms that night. And how incredibly crushing it felt when you pulled away. So you made the kiss count until you eventually pulled away.
His lips turned down into a pout. Which you forced yourself to ignore as you rolled out of the bed. A shiver hitting over yourself when you left the comforts of his warm side. Reaching down on the ground, you gather up the forgotten pieces of clothing you two discarded when you came into the room.
By the time you’ve got your outfit presentable and ready to go, Steve has moved to sit on the edge of his bed. Only a pair of boxers covering up his body now. He extended a hand out to you and you find yourself easily slipping it inside his. You hate how it feels perfect there.
“I want you..” He said, low and soft. Like he was almost afraid to say the words out loud.
“I know,” you sighed, pulling the hand up towards your lips to press gentle kisses at his fingertips. “You always wanna go again.”
A frown flickered over his face, like he wasn’t quite looking for that answer. But he doesn’t say anything else, choosing instead to take your hand and lead you out the room and back downstairs to the front door again.
“Can I ask you something?” He asked nervously once the two of you were at the threshold.
 “Yeah, of course.”
He paused for a second, looking deep into your eyes before he spoke again. “Did you come over on the pretense of having sex? Or because you really wanted to see me?”
A small pang of guilt began to build up in your chest again tonight. Reaching for his hand, you reached out to place it against your chest. Almost hoping that he’d feel the sincerity of your words through your heartbeat.
“I was thinking about you on the drive home.” you said trying not to reveal just how much you were actually thinking about him. He didn’t know the pathetic way you were still in love with him. “I didn’t even realize I had shown up here until I was at your door. It was like I needed to see you tonight.”
A small creeped on his face at your reply. He took the words as permission to press his lips against yours once more. Like always, it made your mind foggy and breath short. “Then tell your thoughts to think of me again tomorrow? Maybe after work?” he said, pulling away to return his gaze.
You should say no and remind him that tonight was a fluke. A misstep on your attempts to move on from each other. But your body is unwilling to listen to your logic and instead chooses to nod your head. Making Steve’s small smile turn into a grin that has you trying to remember when was the last time you saw it.
“Goodnight, Trouble.” He said softly, holding the door open for you.
“Goodnight.” You mumbled still a bit love-struck.
He waited at the door until you were in your car and waving off. The enticing view of Steve’s house eventually faded and you managed to get your brain working again in order to get home. The tv is playing some romance film for your Aunt and you bashfully wish her a goodnight as you floated to your bedroom. Still on the Steve induced high. It wasn’t until you flopped over your bed, brushing your fingertips over your kissed lips that Dustin decided to come in. A similar goofy grin on his face as he held out a Hershey’s kiss to you.
 “Happy Valentine’s Day.”
“You’re in a good mood.” You snorted, taking the candy. “What were you up to tonight?”
“Just got off the radio with Suzie.” He said with a dreamlike sigh. “She read out sonnets to me.”
“That’s sweet. You rode all the way up to that hill to talk to her?”
“Hill?” He snorted before he remembered. “Oh! That hill. No, Steve spent most of the night helping me set up this new ham radio in my room.”
You shot up from your bed, looking at your cousin with a confused frown. “Wait, Steve was here?” You asked. “In our house?”
“Yeah,” he confirmed. “He came around the time you left for work. Hung out with me all night until like an hour and a half ago. Didn’t even get to thank him before he dashed out of here.”
Your mind was suddenly wrecked with a thousand thoughts. Why would Steve lie about going out? Why would he invite you in after hearing about Eddie? He didn’t have to lie about going out on a date, not with you. It’s not like you’d have judged him for taking things slow. Lord know you didn’t have the right to. Was he waiting to see if you’d come home from work all this time? Did he know you’d go to his house? So many questions without any chance of an answer came to you.
“That was really nice of him...” you said softly, looking down at the candy.
“Yup. That’s Steve for ya.” he replied matter of fact. “Makes you maybe wanna consider things, right?”
Dustin’s attempt to mend the two of you hasn’t gone unnoticed these past couple of weeks. He wasn’t too aware of all the details. You and Steve never dived into it with him. Not wanting to ruin the relationship with the boy for either one of you. He was uncharacteristically neutral for the most part, but you knew that he was secretly hoping for some sort of reconciliation.
“Goodnight, Dustin.” you said instead, cutting the conversation short. He let out a big sigh before nodding his head, waving over at you before he closed up the door behind him. You kicked off your shoes, laying back onto your bed with only one thought running through your mind.
What were you going to wear tomorrow night?

Hi! I'm craving for a little drama here so if i could please request to write about Baldwin choosing between the woman he loves and the woman that was promised to marry him.
The woman he loves stayed with him all this time before and after his leprosy miraculously healed while the one promised to him, refused him at first and come back now that he is healed.
I know this is a long request but this idea has been in my head for days. Thanks and have a nice day😊💕
"Knock" "Knock"
"Who is it?" called an authoritative voice from inside. "It's me (Y/N)" Baldwin felt a smile crept on his face when he heard her voice. "Come in" he spoke in his commanding tone. (Y/N) stepped in in her regal and dignified manner. The servants knowing about their relationship. Took their cue to leave. Baldwin meanwhile had his smile frozen in his face.  "Ma Chérie, what happened?"
(Y/N) POV:
"Ever so smart Baldwin, you immediately caught my sour mood" "Even though no one else could read it" "Perhaps that's why I am so attracted to him". I pondered to myself.
"When were you going to tell me" I asked irefully. Baldwin grew anxious fearing about the possibility of me knowing. "That confirms it" I interrupted his thoughts. Baldwin swallowed and cast down a look on his table feeling guilty. "When were you going to tell me about your engagement?". "Mon amour, please listen" Baldwin pleaded as he attempted to tuck my hair behind my ears a gesture I loved so much. "No" I asserted myself. "Answer my question first, When were you planning on telling on me?" "After the engagement or" I paused deeply contemplating next words. I smirked and said mockingly "After marriage, perhaps your majesty by the grace of god wanted to make me your mistress and dishonor me in front on the entire nobility" I knew I hit a nerve when I saw Baldwin's eyes widen in dismay and anger. "Watch your words my lady" '"You and the entire court knows very well that I don't take disrespect well".
Exhausted I nodded my head and said "Please forgive me your majesty" "As your humble servant I should have known better"
Baldwin was once again overcome with guilt seeing your state. "(Y/N) I would never dishonor you like that, "atleast not intentionally." Tears rolled down my eyes I felt my entire world crumbling down in front me and I was helpless. "It's her, isn't it" "The princess whom you were betrothed during childhood" "Who cancelled her engagement when she found out about your disease" "The very princess who ridiculed you in front of entire court" "The very princess wh-" I stopped and sighed "What's the point of recalling" I thought as I looked at him in pain. "Ma Chérie, please understand Jerusalem needs allies".
"Is it her?" I questioned not bothering to hear his explanation. "Yes" he confirmed. I attempted to leave as Baldwin tried to grab my shoulder. I finally was able to brush of his hands and left the room.
William of Tyre POV:
"Father William may I come in" I was suprised to see my student here. "My king, you need not need permission" "You are always free to visit me as you please". The king entered looking distressed. "You look much better than the last time I saw you". "Lady (Y/N) sure has done excellent job". Seeing the king not in cheerful self made at the mention of his beloved made me realise why he came to visit me. "I do love her but I can't choose her over my crown". I smiled as I sadly recalled my memories of my old friend. "Your father was also in similar situation" "Your father King Amalric I of Jerusalem did not wish to divorce your mother but the high court wouldn't listen to him". "Your father too chose crown over love and ensured that his wife got a dispention that nobody questions her morality" "You were so young almost two" "Your father remarried when you were eight" "He purposefully alienated the patriarch responsible for annulment" "Your majesty your father did genuinely love your mother" "I could tell he was genially upset but helpless just like you" "It did hurt me to see my friend in so much in pain and I couldn't do anything" "Your majesty I don't want to go through same thing" "Those who don't learn mistakes from history are bound to repeat it but if his majesty feels this is the best option so be it".
Baldwin POV:
I became quite as I took careful consideration. I did regret my parents annulment and could tell despite my mother marrying multiple times. She was always unhappy
"(Y/N)" I thought of her beautiful smile and sparkling eyes. I recalled when everybody gave up on me even my physician she stood by my side. Even when I believed like every one else that I was disfavored by God she made me believe otherwise. When I despised my rotten flesh she taught me to love myself. The day and nights she spent awake tirelessly working for me. Fought anyone who bad mouthed me. "How could I leave such a wonderful person" I thought. "I never intented to cause her pain and thought of prolonging the news to tell her. Alas! I was too late. She looked to exhausted. The woman whom I knew as one of mentally strong woman looked defeated. She didn't even beg me to stay. "You are right Father William, I will not repeat the same mistakes my parents did" "I will fight for her just like she fought for me"
(Y/N) POV:
Baldwin came running to me excitedly. "I wonder what it could be". "(Y/N)" Baldwin came over to me excitedly and held out a beautiful ring "I remember how you taught me to fight in tough times" "How god gives toughest fight to his bravest soldier" "(Y/N) please forgive my mistake" "I should have been able to stood up for you" "There has to be a way, we will find" "(Y/N), please make happiest man alive by being wife, queen consort of Jerusalem". "I shall honor and cherish you as long I lived. "I looked at him sadly and said "You are too late I already am betrothed to someone else".
"What!" Baldwin looked at you in anger, shock and pain
I nooded and said "I was so upset at you that I wanted to get back to you so after I left I proposed to someone else" "He immediately agreed to marry me"
"Who!" Baldwin growled angrily as he cluthched the ring. He looked a trembling mess a sight I thought I would never see
"Tiberias"
"Raymond iii, Count of Tripoli"
"Yes"

Baby, it’s you

Harry Crosby x Red Cross girl reader!
Summary: Harry thinks you’re into a certain handsome pilot, after a mission you get the chance to reassure him
Notes: angsty and fluffy
Word count: 1089
Dedicated to @xxluckystrike 💕
“Hey Bucky” I shot the tall, dark-haired pilot an eloquent look. “Just be careful up there, alright?”
“Don’t you worry sweetheart, I’ll get this plane back to you all in one piece” He answered with a big grin in my direction and winked.
I rolled my eyes, cracking a smile for the first time that morning, as he leaned down to give me a hug. Saying goodbye to the boys before they went flying again was always the toughest part of the job, but I knew I had to be there. It was the least I could for them given everything they were risking.
I swept my gaze over the rest of the group of those who had been chosen for that day’s mission until my eyes found the person they were looking for.
Croz had a strangely gloomy look on his face. He was looking at Bucky and then his eyes darted back to me, like he’d been paying close attention to our quick interaction.
I boiled it down to him being nervous and I tried to smile at him as reassuringly as I could despite the tightness gripping my stomach.
I wanted nothing more than take him by the hand and carry him away, do anything I could to stop him from getting on that damn plane, but I didn’t. I couldn’t. I didn’t move a muscle, not even allowing myself to get close to him because I couldn’t bear the thought of what might happen to him.
He smiled back, his entire face lighting up to show the happy, silly looking guy I’d come to know and love for a brief, wonderful moment.
I followed him with my eyes until he disappeared inside the vehicle together with everyone else, and I had to move away from the track to join the small crowd of people gathered to watch.
And then there was nothing left to do but wait. I could have never imagined the kind of experience of being up there, freezing, knowing you could be hit at any moments, but there was also a special kind of pain that came with being forced to sit around and wait.
Minutes would turn into hours, as I tried to keep myself occupied, to have something on my hands at all times. It was the only possible way to avoid driving yourself insane with worry.
So I went back to my everyday mansions, but if my hands were relatively easy to manage, however much I was doing my brain was a whole lot busier and there was no way to keep it empty.
My thoughts lingered on Harry and the last image of him that was burned into my brain: the way he smiled, the wind messing up his wavy hair. But I couldn’t stop thinking about that strange expression a few moments before he got on board: was he mad at me? If that was the last time I saw him, I never would’ve forgiven myself.
Finally we heard the alarm signaling the return of the planes and I held my breath, racing to the nearest window and counting them as they appeared together with everyone else. One, two, three, four, five…fifteen. Half of the original total number.
My heart was pounding in my chest as me and the other girls prepared to welcome the boys who’d made it back relatively unscathed.
I did my best to greet every last one of them with a smile, as they approached, handing them a blanket, a cup of coffee, a glass of water or whatever else they needed. But my eyes kept drifting away in search of the one crew I longed to see the most.
As I was leaning down to fetch other glasses, I heard a familiar sardonic voice: “Hello again, sweetheart”.
My face shot up: “Bucky! You’re alright!” I yelled. “Is he…?” I couldn’t even finish the question, my eyes searching his blue ones for the answer, he knew who I was talking about.
“Your navigator’s fine too” He said in a more confidential tone, smirking as said navigator finally appeared in my line of sight.
Heart racing, I scanned Harry up and down, he looked a little banged up but mostly intact. He cracked a half-hearted smile and before I knew it, I was running towards him and hugging him tighly.
He froze for a moment, taken aback, then his arms closed around my waist somewhat hesitantly.
“You’re not hurt, right?” I asked looking everywhere and fumbling with his clothes, suddenly concerned that I’d been too exhuberant. “Do you need anything?”
“No, I’m okay, really” He kept following my ministrations with his eyes as if I was some kind of desert mirage.
“Well it was about time” said Bucky looking at the two of us with a knowing smirk and a usual talent for ruining the moment.
Croz frowned, looking at me in search of an explanation. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
I gave a small chuckle, then gently took his hands in mine and secured them back around my waist, mine traveling up to his shoulders, holding eye contact. “What do you think it means?”
He blinked once, then twice as the realization slowly washed over him. “But I thought you…” His eyes drifted between the pilot and me and I finally understood.
That’s what that look was about?
“Me and Bucky?” I asked like it was the most ridiculous idea in the world. “Oh, you know the guy, he’s just a huge flirt. Nothing going on there”
“Oh” was all he could muster. It looked like the biggest weight had just been lifted from his shoulders.
I took a small step back, reluctantly releasing myself from our embrace. “I have to get back to work and you have to go relax. I’ll meet you later” I promised and leaned on my tiptoes to give him a kiss on the cheek, before slowly backing away still smiling at him.
“Later” Croz stood there stunned for a few seconds, raising his fingers to where my lips had touched him, until Bucky said something to him that my ears could no longer hear, but it made him burst into a laugh, a soft pink shade coloring his cheeks.
He was about to follow the pilot but then stopped again, turning in my direction. He smiled, shaking his head as if he still couldn’t believe what just happened. He waved goodbye at me and finally made up his mind and joined the rest of his group.

Eddie’s been watching the whole thing unfold so he knows what’s happening. Hen’s only just arrived and it’s easy to imagine how you’d be confused by all this so her question is hardly surprising.
“What..what is he doing?”
His friend’s resigned tone of long suffering pulls Eddie’s attention away from Buck, but only for  a moment because he needs to keep an eye on the situation and step in if things get dangerous.
His focus returns to the goal of keeping Buck safe because while Buck’s tall he’s not quite tall enough for what he’s attempting to do. Eddie chews on his lower lip nervously as he watches.
Buck’s stretching up as far as he can go, almost on his tiptoes and Eddie’s trying to keep his attention fixed on the OSHA violations occurring and not the strip of skin that’s been revealed by Buck’s shirt rising up as his arms reach higher.
“It’s stuck Hen! It needs help.” Buck calls down over his shoulder answering her question without actually telling her anything useful.
Another weary voice joins in, “Do I even want to know?” Eddie risks another quick glance backwards and it reveals that Chim has also arrived now with Ravi.
Ravi looks confused, Chim less so but then he has known Buck longer.
“It’s not like we don’t go on rescue missions every day” Buck says, voice a little strained by what he’s doing, he’s still far too precariously balanced for Eddie’s comfort.
Then Buck reaches out again, stretching his arms, shirt and Eddie’s nerves to their limit. Eddie winces, worried about an imminent disaster, he takes an unconscious step forward hand twitching ready to reach out when Buck suddenly exclaims loudly,
“Ahah! Got him!”
He turns around and looks down at the small crowd he’s drawn, the smile spreading across his face is triumphant. He’s very clearly delighted with himself, blue eyes seek out and find Eddie’s and when they meet the smile widens just a little. Eddie allows himself a few seconds to bask in the glow of that then breaks the moment by rolling his eyes before he reveals too much about himself.
“Although” Buck says “you know ‘him’ isn’t really right for bees because… “
“Buck!” Bobby’s voice captures everyone’s attention, “Get off the furniture…” he sounds exasperated but not surprised at what he’s seeing. He doesn’t even ask what Buck is doing standing on a table and holding a glass jar topped with a piece of paper.
Buck grimaces guilty and steps down onto a nearby chair, Eddie reaches up quickly to steady him when he wobbles before breathing more easily once he’s safely on his own two feet again.
“Hey there, no need to get cross with me, I’m helping!” Buck lifts the glass up so he can talk to the tiny buzzing creature he’s just rescued and starts to head towards the stairs. Eddie follows because that’s just what he does.

You were currently sat at your desk. It was one of the rare days that the bau were in the office, working on paperwork.
You'd been slipping all day and we're finding it increasingly difficult to focus on the folder that sat currently in front of you.
The bau were unaware that you were a regressor. Well apart from Spencer Reid and Aaron Hotchner. They both knew. They had become your caregivers.
Hotch was the first to know after he found you in a cupboard in a hotel after a particularly hard case involving children, he'd noticed how upset you'd been during the case and was originally going to just check up on you, but upon finding you crying, with a pacifier in your mouth he'd had a change of plans. He spent that evening watching over you and then proceeded to approach you on the topic in the morning when you were no longer small.
Spencer had found out soon after. He was good at profiling and had noticed your childlike innocence. He spoke to Hotch who in turn spoke to him about the situation, asking Reid not to mention this to anyone else.
Soon after that interaction there was an incident where you had slipped at work. Hotch was too busy to be able to watch you so Spence volunteered. You ended up having lots of fun with him. And so from that point on both Hotch and Spencer became your caregivers.
Spencer approached you slowly.
"Sweetheart you feeling small..?" He asked you quietly.
You looked up panicked.
"it's okay sweetie.. it's just dada.."
You nodded, tears in your eyes.
"oh it's okay bub.. Do you wanna go see Daddy??"
You nodded again.
Spencer gently took your hand in his own and led you to Hotch's office, knocking gently on the door.
A simple "come in" from Hotch was all it took before Spencer guided you into the room.
"Reid?? What's wrong??" Hotch asked upon seeing you holding his hand.
"They slipped whilst doing some paperwork and I thought it would be best for them to calm down and be regressed in here instead of in the open.." Spencer spoke looking to Hotch.
Hotch gently hugged you.
"do you want to do some colouring kiddo?"
You nodded eagerly.
Aaron took your hand from Reid.
"can you go get their regression bag from the boot of my car??"
"of course"
Reid left to go get your bag whilst Hotch got you settled on the couch in his office.
"now daddy has to carry on working but I'll be in here with you, yeah?"
"mhm.."
"okay Sweetheart."
Reid came back quickly, knocking on the door and then slipping in. He placed the bag down next to you and kissed your forehead.
"I'm going to get back to work before the others start asking questions. Have fun okay bub?"
"okii dada!!"
"okay Reid."
You and Hotch answered.
You ended up colouring 4 different pictures, you chose to do two for each of your caregivers. Labeling 'dada' and 'daddy' on the respective colourings.
Hotch decided to drive both you and Spencer back to Reid's house.
Hotch made you dinner whilst Spencer sat with you reading.
You fell asleep calmly knowing that your caregivers would always be there to help you when needed.
