Things People Don’t Mention About Top Surgery or Mastectomies
There is reluctance to do the surgery if you live alone, even if you have a good support system. One of the most stressful things was the hospital constantly asking about who would be looking after me, picking me up, etc. I really felt the bias towards people who are married and against people who are single. I don’t think it was intentional but it was definitely there. (Please read more about this situation here) That being said you will definitely need a robust support system of some kind to get through everything in the first 4 -8 weeks or more after surgery.
All your pill bottles will have safety caps and you won't have the strength to open them on your own without a lot of struggling.
There are soooo many medications. Take them as prescribed and when they say take the level of pain meds you need to manage your pain, do it. I got opiods and ibuprofen. If the pain is bad 5-7+ on the 1-10 scale take the stronger meds. Pain can slow healing by causing stress on the body.
Drains are a pain in the ass. Every hour pushing the hoses so they don't clog. Major drag but they are very important and if they get clogged it can cause issues
Sleeping sitting up, prepare for this. Lots of pillows or recliner or something. Practice for a week or more before surgery to get used to it.
Sleep as much as you need. Don't feel like you should stay awake or whatever because you are supposed to or it is day time or whatever. Listen to your body.
Drink lots and lots of fluids. You may think you are drinking enough but you probably aren't. The fluid in the drains and the medicines and peeing all the time and sweating from the tight wrap. You need to replace all of this fluid. I think I have been up around 80+ oz the past few days.
The month before and a month after surgery eat a high protein and higher calorie diet. It will help with surgery and recovery. You need the energy and the protein to recover.
Cut out added salt, caffiene, alcohol, and nicotine before surgery and during recovery. All of these can increase fluid retention, slow healing, or be dangerous with the meds.
Your chest will feel very strange. At first you can't feel anything and then the skin feels tight everywhere and still strange. The recovery process feels real weird. Your whole torso feels kind of bizarre and new.
Ask all the questions. No question is stupid. It's trauma to your body ask all the questions. YES all of them.
The tube (intubation) from surgery irritates the throat. Coughing from this sucks so damned much because of the binder and the chest tightness and what not. Find lozenges (Both cough drops and just candy) that you like. I say candy because too many cough drops can upset the stomach and you don't need that after anesthesia and with all the meds. Also get popsicles.
Take everything out of packages you can before surgery. They are damned hard to open. Those paper cartons holding the apple sauce and snapping apart pudding cups and pulling apart pill blister packs.. ugh I should have taken them apart before the surgery.
Scissors are your friend and every package is an enemy. Seriously, get a good pair of scissors for packaging.
Also, skip 2 liters of pop, gallon of milk, etc. They will be too heavy to pick up after surgery. You can be more independent if  you get smaller size things.
Timers are your friend. All the phone timers forever. Also, handwritten or some other chart type to keep track of drain cleaning and taking meds. You will be sleepy and forgetful the first few days. Use other things to help you keep track.
Take stock of how your lights go on and off. Can you reach them while pretending you are a T-Rex. If not, especially ceiling fans and that, put long strings on the pulls so that you can operate them while you can't raise your arms.
Also check your doors to make sure they don't stick. You won't be able to tug hard on doors or drawers or whatever.
Get yourself some treats. Food related or clothing or whatever. Treats will help.
Before surgery plan out and prepare at least a week of meals. Be sure to include some that are easy on the stomach like crackers, rice and chicken, etc. Just in case you have stomach upset from the anesthesia or meds. Gentle foods include starches and chicken/tofu that is low fat and low spice so that it is gentle.
Soft fuzz free and easy to get on clothing is essential. I went out and got a couple of those shorts and button down shirt pajama sets. Life savers. Also, get a size or two bigger than usual to accommodate drains and padded bandages and things.
Strange pains, you will probably have them.
Be sure to do the arm exercises as directed by your surgeon and watch your shoulders hunching. The shoulder hunching is from the chest tightness but you don't want your back to start hurting. Try to sit up as straight as you can.
Pump action soap dispensers will be too hard to use the first few days.
Weeks before surgery, start teaching yourself how to do things without your arms; like standing up, getting into and out of bed, squatting, getting up from chairs, etc. Practice doing things with your elbows next to your chest like a t-rex; getting food and drinking, brushing teeth, taking meds, etc This will be very important
I am sure there are more but I thought some of you might benefit from the things I have learned so far from going through surgery.

Our Forever
Cha hyunsu x reader
Synopsis: You were hiding your baby boy from the world but it seems like the military already knows hopefully Hyunsu finds you before they do.
Part 1 - Your forever
Tumblr media
Taehoon waddle around, eyes pitch black as he was fed grapes from you. As sweet as this little baby was he always gets what he wants. He even named him monster Teddy. You could only imagine what having a girl would be like.
“When will I see you again?” You whisper think instantly to Hyunsu,He sacrificed himself to get a cure leaving you heavily pregnant and alone but a monster helped you through it before it died. And Now you gave birth to Taehoon. Your sweet baby boy.
when you look at Taehoon you see his father. Taehoon nudged you before pointing at his mouth “Ah” he whined making you smile sadly before gently putting a grape in his mouth making him chew slowly.
You were surprised to find fresh grapes from the run down market. You haven’t ate anything making sure Taehoon gets enough protein and food.
You lift up your baby boy to put him to sleep but as soon as you picked him up he was out like a light.
Taehoon is indeed a hybrid with the same abilities as his father but when a human look deep into his eyes a human can turn to a monster. So sometimes he wears blindfolds.
One day Taehoon snuck out making your panic.
“How can a three year old be curious already” You mumbled but then gasp as you saw Sergeant Tak holding Taehoon.
You instantly rushed to him as he gladly gave the baby boy to you.
“A baby during golden hour that’s new one” He said making you tense but you can’t ignore the Sergeant.
“I was pregnant before all of this even happened Sir sorry for the inconvenience” You answered respectfully as you shift Taehoon in a more comfortable position.
“I see, you’re also not apart of the safe place, Would you like-“No thank you” You interrupted him making him tilt his head in confusion.
“What’s his name?” He asked slightly pointing to you baby, you looked at Taehoon his adorably before look back at the solider. “His name is Taehoon it means perfectionist and Compassion” You answered.
“Is his father with you or turned into a monster?”
“What’s with these questions?” You asked politely trying to be a good role model to your son.
“I know about you trying to hide your baby from us but I can assure you he is safe unless he attacks” Sergeant Tak said honestly making you hold Taehoon tighter in your arms.
“I understand” You said before walking back to your home.
As a mother of a hybrid no monster dared to hurt you. They avoided you or helped you scout for food for your son.
Days later you decided to take Taehoon out for some air. So a walk was ideal for the both of you, You packed a bottle of milk, his blindfold and pacifier. As he chew on a chocolate chip cookie that you found in a convenience store.
You held his hand as you both walked under the stars. The cold air blew luckily you gave Taehoon a big jacket otherwise he would be having a cold. But this wasn’t a typical breeze it was like someone was coming.
You held Taehoon close as you closed your eyes. This person must have been in front of you because-“Dada?”
What?
You opened your eyes and saw Hyunsu in front of you and Taehoon. Your baby looked at you for permission before you nodded making him with a little struggle instantly run to his dad.
Hyunsu took him with open arms as he spins him around in joy.
“I missed you so much Tae I promise I’ll never leave you and your mama again” Hyunsu said holding back tears. Both of your boys looked at you both extending their arms so you’ll come to them.
You smiled going in their arms. Now they were a complete family. Even though the world around them was still a disaster they still had each other to hold.

‎❀‎✿❀Pup headcanons❀✿❀
One thing about me is if I can make it animalistic, I will. With that being said...
This post was supposed to take me an hour max. Tell me why I started working on this at like 9pm and it is currently 130am and I'm still not done yet 😐👎🏾
this took too long
Here's your warning 🌸well formatted long post incoming 🌸
‎‧₊˚✿General✿˚₊‧
It's considered inhumane to separate a pup from their family before they can scent other people as well as be scented
Pups need a lot more protein than adults do
Normally a litter contains 2-3 pups, but having more or less isn't uncommon, I will say having more than 5 is practically unheard of
As pups grow older they lose a lot of the body language that they used as kids, they don't really need a lot of it as they progress into adulthood
That's not to say people don't keep a few of their childhood quirks though
I think pups in omegaverse tend to do a lot of developmental things earlier than actual children lol things like crawling, walking, etc
For a lot of their childhood they don't have their own scent they just smell like their parents, possibly their entire pack depending on the dynamics, so scenting them doesn't really... Stick
Since omegaverse relies so heavily on non verbal cues, body language, and noises that aren't words, it's important that pups are heavily (but gradually) socialized as early as 10 months
‎‧₊˚✿Newborns✿˚₊‧
Pups aren't born blind but they are born with anosmia (can't smell, poor thang) but overtime the ability gets stronger, and jumpstarts when they get their first heat/rut
Instinctually have body language and noises signalling they don't like something or are unhappy
Newborns sometimes learn to growl before even leaving the hospital
Smell like their parents, don't have a scent of their own
The bigger the litter the smaller the babies tend to be
‎‧₊˚✿Babies✿˚₊‧
Babies sometimes learn to bare their teeth before they smile, which is equally as cute tbh
𑁍 4-6 months
Begin to smell like their pack as well as their parents, but still don't actually have a scent of their own
They bite their parents/packs stuff frequently. Sometimes that means putting someone's favorite book in their mouths or trying their very best to take a big bite out of someone's arm
Normally start crawling by about 5-6months and walking isn't far behind
This is also about the time they start to have very small bits of solid foods, especially things containing soy, or just yogurt is a good choice
𑁍 7-9 months
Will start to get territorial. Will cry if other people are in the house for too long, or throw tantrums if that person touches their parents or a toy, might even start hiding toys from their pack if it's perceived as theirs
Should be somewhat competent at walking by the time 9 months hits, may also start biting and tearing at furniture at this time
This is also a great time to introduce bite sized soft meats
Socializing pups has started to become crucial to development here, meeting people outside of their pack is now becoming important
𑁍 10-12 months
Teething is a pretty bad experience for pups. Sharp teeth piercing gums hurts a lot. Don't be surprised if they already have a couple teeth by this time
Teething may also set back pups from speaking for a while, most people aren't much inclined to talk (or learn how to talk) when their mouth hurts
By this time they probably have a favorite scent or smell. Don't be surprised if it's a food or a perfume that someone in their pack wears. They still can't really smell the scents of the people around them, but scents and pheromones have a lot of sway a pups development
Are yipping and yowling by 12 months, as well as engaging in healthy rough and tumble
Separation anxiety is also to be expected
‎‧₊˚✿Toddlers✿˚₊‧
𑁍 1-3 years
Toddlers sometimes talk later than they should and speak almost exclusively through body language and a few open mouthed sounds so their teeth don't click together
They're probably gonna have over exaggerated body language. Instead of just tilting their head to the side to show curiosity they might practically bend at the waist or throw themselves to the ground entirely
Their nails harden and begin becoming claws, will soon begin to scratch on harder things to experiment with a different type of cause and effect, as well sensory experiences
Beginning playdates with pups around the same age is recommended, as well as giving them a security object of their choice that's heavily scented by their pack
By 3 is using those new claws to dig into whatever possible and climb as high as they can. Pup proofing is a must.
May crouch onto all fours when they run, and may have trouble losing momentum when they go too fast resulting in a lot of falls
Teething should be basically done by now and speaking should be back on track or jumpstarted in a couple months
Territorialness should be calming down. They should stop outwardly objecting to foreign people and objects being in their space
𑁍 4-5 years
Should begin to use more vocal communication beside their spoken and body language (like yipping, yowling, chuffing, and in some instances barking or howling)
Will also repeat sounds or actions that typically belong to omegas, betas, alphas, or all three despite not having matured yet
They should also start copying the motions to scent people, and it is advised to correct them when they do the motions in inappropriate situations
‎‧₊˚✿Children✿˚₊‧
𑁍 6-8 years
So much yipping. When they play. When they're sad. When they're bored. When they're hurt. Especially if they're particularly vocal.
Nose is finally sensitive enough to pick up on natural scents and pheromones. Might start telling you that someone stinks in inappropriate settings
Is just barely beginning to develop their own scent by 7, and is able to scent and be scented by 8
It's very common for pups to play too rough. Playdates ending with a little blood isn't anything to worry about unless it's actually excessive
Pups lick everything and anything possible, especially if it has an odd smell, they should basically be grown out of it by about middle school age tho
‎‧₊˚✿Preteen✿˚₊‧
𑁍 9-12 years
Should start to present somewhere in this time frame.
Their scent should be fully developed by 12.
Should understand scenting and begin to understand the difference between their primary and secondary gender
Physical insecurities are beginning to pop up
Pheromones become more active and passive discussions about scent blockers should begin soon
They'll probably be pretty active, and easily become stir crazy
They should start using words more than vocalisation and purposeful body language
Pups who develop early may get their heats/ruts at this time
Some may begin to start branching away from the pack and subconsciously looking to start another one
‎‧₊˚✿Teenager✿˚₊‧
𑁍 13-18 years
First heat/ruts tend to occur around 13-15 years old
Omegas tend to mature first
Litter mates tend to mature one after the other, sometimes with only days between each other
By this point scent glands and sense of smell should be fully developed
Minor vocalisation will progress into adulthood and any purposefully telegraphed body language should become second nature to them
Many pups display highly aggressive behavior or displeased scents for many of their teen years. Without proper stress relief moodiness and build up in their scent glands is common
this was not meant to be this long but thanks for reading y'all :3 if you see spelling/grammar mistakes uhm.... no you didn't </3

theory on the fluidity of minds and souls
The first three acts of Asajj’s life. A how-to on finding yourself. Experimental prose, 1k words | Read on ao3
How to be a Jedi
(1) Don’t listen to the old man.
(2) Child, he says, don’t cry. Here on Rattatak, we are Jedi the best we can. Here’s how to be a temple to each other: brush the red dust from your face before you go to sleep. Brush the dust from his face too. Share the dirty water without flinching, like trusting him comes natural and easy to you. Teach him what to eat, cook for him stews of insects and herbs and if he won’t eat those, tell him you’re sorry, this is all you have. This is all anyone has. Sit and guard the fire while he sleeps; trust him to guard you while you do the same. When you move up north, don’t light a fire at night so the warlords won’t spot you.
(3) Learn to be kind.
(4) When they kill him
don’t rage
don’t rage
grieve
but don’t rage, don’t let it consume you
How to be a Sith
(1) Don’t listen to the old man.
(2) All men are liars. So are the women, so is everyone, but the men are more dangerous to you, especially the older ones. Never let him know (he knows anyway). Forget. Never look back. Don’t cry when he throws lightning at you; when you’re alone again, press your fingers against your temples to relieve the headache. Make the silence your friend. Ask questions, but don’t ask too many or the wrong ones; his anger will teach you which are the wrong ones. Watch out for his anger, but learn to watch out for his sharp-edged smiles too. If he offers you food or a weapon, take it; if he gives you a name, hunt them down. If he offers you a glass of wine, sit and drink and look for the lesson: which tool is he trying to shape you into? A blade, a shadow, a shield, a smoke bomb? Be grateful for what you have because he is offering you more power than he offered anyone else, because he thinks you can take the lessons and not fail, the way so many others did.
So this is how you will live: be wary of cups you haven’t filled yourself. Hide daggers everywhere: in your boots, under the folded cloak you use as a makeshift pillow, in your dreams. Keep the holoproj next to your bedroll, make sure it’s always charged, make sure it’s never muted. Here’s a list of essential things you need to have at hand at all times: spare energy cores for your saber, medpacs and bactaspray, stimcaf and sleeptabs, protein wafers in an osmosis pack in case you can’t swallow anything. It’s better not to stare at the stars for too long when you’re traveling. Navigation is all they’re good for. Be grateful for what you have. It’s really all you need: a place for the pain to go and a place to come home to. It doesn’t matter if they’re the same place, and if one day you should catch him pressing his fingers against his temples, pretend you didn’t see. Go skewer some boys instead. There’s that Jedi again: flirt, tease, smile at him with your dewberry-colored lips and painted eyes, so he knows you want to be here, you enjoy what you are. And if you suspect or know that he too has a list of essential things, and that his list is the same as yours, the same as everyone’s these days, don’t let on.
(3) Never forget to hate yourself.
(4) Don’t fall for the blade, it’s not your friend; it will take away everything you own. It’s very simple. He won’t protect you. You can’t protect them. Always expect betrayal; always expect loss.
And when that day comes
—it will inevitably come—
remember your grief and how it was a dull, useless knife to you.
How to be a ???
How to figure out what who you are
(1) Stay alone.
(2) Boil the water before you use it for soup. Strain it and collect the pulp, the gritty dark things you don’t know how to name. Everything tastes like ashes and dust, that’s all you know. Buy some soap and scrub your hands. If you wake with a start in the middle of the night, pressure crushing your chest and your breathing quick and ragged in the quiet of your room, remember to inhale, count to four, exhale, count to four. Lie still and watch the darkness shed from the light. In the morning, roam the markets, buy something against the headache, something to hide your face, something to scrub your hands. When you walk through the streets, pull your hood low. Tell the spice dealers to leave you alone, always stop after one glass of whiskey, tell the men at the corner to fuck off. There will be days when you wake in unfamiliar places; at least try not to have two of them in a row if you can help it. Watch the sunrise. Tell no-one about your past (they know anyway; probably). Always expect betrayal, always expect loss. Forget. Never look back.
(3) Learn to be kind again.
(4) Get some credits, buy a saber; any saber you can find, as long as it’s still alive. Hold it in your hand, gently, feel the worn hilt that has passed through other hands. Were they cruel? Were they kind? Maybe. Did they protect, did they kill? Who knows. It doesn’t matter to you.
Here’s what you need to do to make this saber yours:
calibrate the focusing ring, install a strong core, toss away the parts you don’t need, polish the metal often, swing the saber daily, trust your hand again, close your eyes, listen, be patient, feel how your crystal talks to you, feel it resonate, feel it hum, learn a new language.
Yellow is a good color.
It’s going to take a long time.

Beginner Hiking Guide: Gear - What to Bring Hiking
Tumblr media
What you want to bring with you on a hike will vary depending on what kind of hike you’re doing. If you’re going on a very short (under an hour) and easy hike on highly-trafficked and easily accessed trails for instance, you may not need to bring much at all -- though I always recommend a water bottle, sun protection and a hoodie or something. But if you’re doing a longer trek on backcountry trails out in the wilderness, you’ll want to bring quite a bit more with you, because the stakes are higher if things go wrong.
My general rule of thumb is: Pack for the Worst Case Scenario.
What is the worst that could happen if you get lost or injured? How long would it take for someone to find you if your phone died and you couldn’t call for help? If you get stuck out overnight, how cold is it going to get, and will you be able to survive it? How about if you have to wait several hours for a rescue party to carry you out if you can’t walk?
I carry a bunch of emergency items in my pack that, on an ideal hike, I never need. But if things don’t go ideally, given the places and conditions I hike in, they could save my life. In the list below, I’ve put an asterisk next to items I recommend packing even for short day hikes (2 hours or less)
So let’s start with the most important thing:
You Need a Backpack.
If you’re going to carry supplies, you need something to carry them in, and a backpack is the easiest, most comfortable way to do so that won’t compromise your balance or leave you unable to use your hands on a hike. (On short outings, fannypacks are great, but you’ll want a backpack if you’re going out into backcountry).
DON'T: use a drawstring backpack -- this will dig painfully into your shoulders pretty quickly.
DO: use a backpack with a waist/hip strap (and chest strap if possible). Having more of your pack’s weight on your hips than on your shoulders will cut down on back pain! The more adjustable, the better; you want to be comfortable.
There are really great hiking specific backpacks out there, but they are on the pricey side. It’s something where, if you plan on doing hiking more regularly, I would recommend investing in a good pack, but for your first time your old book bag will probably do okay.
The Ten Essentials
If you do any research on backcountry hiking, you will probably see “the ten essentials” mentioned somewhere. These are the things that you’re recommended to always bring on a hike with you if you’re going out into the wilderness. The list can seem a little daunting, but honestly a lot of the things on it are pretty small and easy to acquire.
1) Navigation / Map & Compass* -- Have a paper map in a ziploc bag and a compass in addition to any digital tools and GPS you may be using to navigate. Technology fails, and having a map that you’ve familiarized yourself with before you set out will help you to stay on your route and avoid getting lost. REI has useful articles on how to use a compass and how to read a topographic map.
2) Nutrition / Extra Food -- I always bring food hiking. You burn through a lot of energy while hiking, and snacking will help boost your energy levels and keep you moving. Calorie-dense foods with sugar and protein like trail mix, nuts, and granola bars give you the biggest boost while not taking up too much room in your pack. And if your hike runs over, you’ll be grateful for the extra rations.
3) Hydration / Extra Water* -- I typically bring a full liter of water (or gatorade!), minimum when I hike. Nalgene bottles are great because they’re lightweight and virtually indestructible. You’re going to be losing a lot of moisture through sweat and through the vapor your exhale while breathing heavily, so you are going to need to hydrate. Bring more than you think you’re going to need in case things go badly.
4) Insulation / Extra Layers* -- I talked about this in the post about clothes, but always have an extra layer. If the weather shifts, or you get injured and can’t move to keep warm, or you get lost and need to wait for a rescue, the last thing you need is for hypothermia to come along and make your day worse.
5) Illumination / Light -- There’s always a chance of something going wrong, be it a twisted ankle or just misjudging the length of a hike, that can lead to you being out for longer than you anticipated -- and if you’re stuck out in the wilderness when the sun goes down, you want to be able to see where the hell you’re going to find the trail and get home. On any longer hike (especially if you’re starting later in the day), bring a headlamp or flashlight with extra batteries (and test it before you leave!)
6) Emergency Shelter -- Is there any chance that on the hike you’re doing, you could potentially get lost enough that you have to spend hours and hours out here? In the theme of extra layers, if you get lost, injured, or otherwise caught out in bad conditions and can’t hike out on your own for any reason and rescue won’t be there anytime soon (search and rescue teams take time to assemble, deploy and then hike out to you), you want to have some means of shelter. Obviously, you don’t wanna drag an entire tent out into the woods if you’re just going on a day hike, but a there’s a few lightweight options that can make a difference when you’re improvising protection from the elements, such as:
A mylar space blanket / shock blanket
A bivvy sack (basically a lightweight plastic sleeping bag that keeps warmth in and water out!)
....And if you’re on a budget, a large plastic trash bag can do in a pinch!
7) Firestarter -- On the topic of shelter, especially if you’re stuck out in the cold overnight, a fire can be an emergency source of heat and light. Since most of us are not capable of starting a fire just by rubbing two sticks together like in the movies, we’ll want to make it easier on ourselves by bringing something to start a fire with: pack something to ignite it with, and something to use as tinder to catch the flame and sustain it long enough to ignite other fuel you’ve gathered. I personally carry a bic lighter that was like, .99c at the gas station, and a toilet paper tube stuffed with dryer lint for tinder. This is one of those “hopefully you never actually have to use it” things.
8) First Aid Kit* -- You want to be able to treat an injury if it happens, and to address smaller health concerns before they become bigger health concerns. With blisters especially, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure -- putting blister pads on your feet when you’ve got hot spots before they turn into full on oozing blisters is going to make a world of difference. And as someone who has taken a nasty spill on the trail and hiked out injured, I always carry a solid first aid kit with me. You can buy a compact pre-made kit easily enough to carry with you, but you may find yourself customizing it to your needs. I recommend having the following:
Ibuprofen -- good for managing pain, swelling, and soreness
Tylenol/Acetaminophen -- pain reliever, fever reducer, better for head injuries than ibuprofen since it doesn’t thin blood (also, if you’ve hurt yourself and you’re in a LOT of pain, you can alternate Tylenol and Ibuprofen)
Benadryl or some other antihistamine for allergies
AfterBite -- good for stings and bug bites
Bandaids in assorted sizes
Blister pads
Disinfectant wipes x 2
Gauze
A triangular bandage
A lightweight SAM splint
Ace bandage - good for wrapping sprains
Tweezers - good for removing splinters!
Any important medications you personally need, such as an EpiPen or inhaler, or personal joint braces you require
9) Sun Protection* -- Even if you’re hiking under tree cover, or on a cloudy day, with hours spent outdoors, you’re getting a lot of UV exposure. Regardless of whether you’re someone who sunburns easily or not, it’s good to have sun protection. Bring sunglasses and sunscreen, and consider wearing a hat. Especially at higher elevations, where the air gets thinner and blocks less UV radiation! And don’t forget when hiking in winter, that you can get snowblindness and sunburn from light reflected off snow.
10) Repair Kit + Knife / All That McGuyver Shit -- A few lightweight and simple objects can make it much easier to jury-rig a shelter, replace a snapped bootlace, or hold together a torn pack until you can get back to the parking lot. I personally always have:
A pocket knife/multitool
Flat-wrapped duct tape
Several safety pins
A handful of zip ties
A spare shoelace
And other people may find other items useful depending on their gear and the kind of repairs they might need.
In addition to the stuff on this list, there may be weather-specific or trail-condition specific gear you might need, like microspikes for traction on ice, or rain gear for hiking in wet climates. You can use your best judgment and the recommendations of others who have hiked where you are hiking to figure out what the best packing list is for your specific hike. This list is a guideline and a starting point.
Other things you may want to bring:
Whistle -- if your phone is dead and you’re waiting for rescue, you can blow on a whistle a lot longer (and a lot louder) than you can yell. Three short bursts usually means ‘hiker in distress’ and will help other hikers or searchers find you.
Toilet Paper + plastic bag -- If you don’t think you’re going to be able to hold it, bring a means to go in the woods. But bring the plastic bag to carry out your used toilet paper so it doesn’t pollute nature (Leave No Trace!)
A ziploc bag big enough for your phone -- if you need to cross a river or if it starts pouring, have a means to bag your phone to keep it dry. If there’s a risk of rain, bring a trash bag as well that you can use as an improvised pack cover to keep your stuff dry.
Insect Repellant -- even if you don’t bring it with you and just put it on in the parking lot, if you’re hiking in spring or summer especially, you’ll want some bug spray.
Keeping It Light
You want to pack smart, which means maximizing the usefulness of what you pack while keeping things as light as possible. Try using a lightweight plastic water bottle instead of a heavy steel one, and packing spare layers that are warm without being too bulky. Put sunblock in a small tube or bottle instead of packing the huge family-size one. The weight adds up, and the final weight of your pack is what you’re going to have to be carrying along with you. Though the good news is, your pack will get lighter as you consume the food and water you’ve packed!
If you are hiking with friends in a group, there’s some things you don’t really need multiple redundancies for -- if one person has a well-stocked first aid kit and another person carries enough sunblock for the group, you don’t need three of each and every item. Communicate with your group to make sure all your bases are covered, but also be sure you stay close together while hiking. Your friend having the group’s utility knife isn’t going to help you if you go off on your own and get separated. And you will all still want your own food, water, clothing, and light.
Organize Your Bag
Having the right gear is helpful. Knowing where it is is even better!
I try to organize my pack so the weight is evenly distributed (with the heaviest objects at the center near my spine to avoid throwing off my center of gravity), but also so I can find stuff easily enough. If your backpack has different pockets and compartments, think about using those to organize your supplies. Put stuff you’re more likely to need to use in easy to reach places. I usually keep my water bottle in a side pocket that I can reach from the outside of my bag, and my snacks in the topmost compartment so they’re easy to get to and not squished.
I also have a couple of lightweight smaller bags inside my pack I organize things in -- a mesh bag I keep all my first aid supplies in so I can pull out the splint, main kit, extra bandage, AfterBite, etc. all together, and a waterproof stuff sack that I keep all my “emergency” supplies (bivvy sack, shock blanket, headlamp, lighter, knife, etc.) inside so they aren’t all rattling around loose at the bottom of my pack where I will never find them.
-
Using your knowledge about the hike you’re doing, the duration, the conditions, and your own body and needs will help you make smart choices about what you need to bring in order to keep yourself safe, both during your hike, and in the hypothetical scenario where something goes awry. Be informed, be prepared, and have fun out there!

Home Nursing Advice Column #1: Convalescent "Sick" Foods
Sick food comes down to calories and nutrients. The more the better.
Since sick people may not want to eat, packing as many calories as possible in as few bites as possible is essential.
You also want to start easy and move your way up to more complex foods. Consider this:
Clear liquids: Broths (have electrolytes), bone broths (have protein and electrolytes), full sugar gelatin (has carbohydrates and protein), full sugar popsicles (have carbohydrates), broths with added butter or oil (has electrolytes and fats).
Then move up to full liquids with fat: Whole milk (with added cream or half n half if you really need to pack in the calories- contains fat, electrolytes, carbs, and protein), chocolate milk (fat, more carbs, and protein), strained or blended cream soups (fat, carbs, electrolytes, and protein depending on ingredients), non-chunky ice creams/milkshakes, yogurt, milk alternatives with added oils, protein shakes.
Then move up to a high calorie soft regular diet: scrambled eggs with cheese, mashed potatoes with gravy, gravy and sauces on everything, cream cheese in/on everything, well cooked vegetables with butter or oil.
The goal is high calorie, because being sick takes a LOT of energy, and often leads people to eat lower quantities of food than they normally would.
This advice goes even for people who are overweight, diabetic, or generally sedentary. People need calories for healing!

Mock Tuna Salad
This is one of my favorite recipes, great for an anytime no-cook meal with high protein and some veggies as well as a good way to add a little variety to your packed lunches. My family calls it mock tuna salad, since it’s a vegetarian version with familiar flavor notes (and it can be vegan if you use vegan mayo alternatives).
I will say 2.5/5 spoons since you do have to chop some vegetables, but otherwise it’s just mix and eat. If you have a food processer, you could probably throw the onion, celery, pickle, and chickpeas in and zhuzh them. Feel free to eyeball the amounts to your preference!
Mock Tuna Salad
1 can (15 oz.) chickpeas
¼ cup mayonnaise (or vegan mayo)
¼ cup finely* chopped onion
¼ cup finely chopped celery
1 tbsp finely chopped pickle
2 tsp spicy brown mustard
¼ tsp salt
¼ tsp garlic powder
¼ tsp dill weed (or splash of pickling liquid)
optional:
¼ tsp dried parsley
pinch (1/8 tsp) cayenne
Instructions
Drain chickpeas and place in a medium bowl.
Mash chickpeas with a fork or potato masher until few whole chickpeas remain.
Mix in all other ingredients until fully incorporated
Add more mayonnaise if needed.
Serve as a dip with crackers or pita bread, or use as a sandwich filling. Enjoy!

So you're worried about losing power in the winter- to buy list for when you can't buy a whole generator.
1. A propane tent heater. Mr. Buddy brand is considered very safe.
https://www.amazon.com/Mr-Heater-F232000-Indoor-Safe-Portable/dp/B002G51BZU/
Have extra propane cannisters on hand if possible. This is an expensive buy compared to the rest of the list, but...so worth it. These have a low oxygen fail safe, so carbon monoxide is a low risk, but I wouldn't sleep *right* up next to it, and would put it near a door, just as an extra precaution.
2. A jet boil or other small water boiler/camp stove and fuel. Loss of power for a whole city will almost always trigger a water boil notice.
Fancy one: https://a.co/d/jiElZbj
Cheaper one: https://a.co/d/j8YM6fx
Make sure you have fuel and have lighters to turn them on. Use these in a well ventilated area and only for short periods. Do not use them for a heat source for a long period of time. They can pose a carbon monoxide risk.
3 hot hands chemical hand warmers. https://a.co/d/2u4DSHG
4. No-prep shelf stable food (protein bars are good. Granola bars. Pop tarts. Tuna packs and crackers. Peanut m and ms. Calories that you can consume without power and without water.)
5. Bottled water.
6. Dry shampoo, baby wipes, mouth wash. If this goes on for days, you'll appreciate being able to feel a little clean.
If you lose power for an extended period in the cold: move all people, animals, and supplies into 1 room (ideally adjoining a bathroom.) Cover any windows with towels and extra blankets. If you have one, a small tent that you can sleep in, set up in that room will further reduce the air your body is trying to warm. The goal is to reduce the volume of space/air you have to keep warm. Layer your clothes, but be careful of sweat. Sweating will make you colder in the long run.
DO NOT try to use a gas stove to stay warm- these are a carbon monoxide risks. We lost a lot of people in the Texas freeze last time to carbon monoxide. Please be careful.

How Good the RvB Main Cast is at Cooking, Ranked from Best to Worst
1. Donut
Donut gives off the vibe of one of those gay men with a baking channel on YouTube. This man's out here rolling up to the red team monthly dinner club with frenched rack of lamb with a pistachio mint crust and wine accompaniment, then earl grey souffle with creme anglaise for dessert. He spends hours experimenting with new and interesting ingredients. Remy Ratatouille, send-you-back-to-rural-France ass man. Donut's food fucks hard and everyone knows it.
2. Grif
You really think my man Grif loves food as much as he does and doesn't know how to make it? C'mon. He doesn't, like, relish the act of cooking as much as he does having a good plate of food at the end of it. And he's not typically much for sharing. But my guy makes a damn good short rib and bechamel lasagna. Give him the day to let something slow cook, and god damn.
3. Wash
Wash has been living off of MREs for probably his entire adult life, but I feel like he's got a few dishes he can whip out for a date night, or if he's feeling fancy. He knows how to read a recipe, and he has a pretty good idea of what flavors go together to make something good. He probably has a really nice papardelle with vinho verde sauce that he has sitting around in the back of his head for special occasions.
4. Tucker
Okay, Tucker isn't a bad cook by any means, ok? He's great with breakfast food specifically. It's just that he isn't especially fancy about it. He was probably, like, a line cook at Denny's in high school, so all his food tastes like food you would get at Denny's. Which isn't a bad thing! You would just never call Denny's "fine dining". He has his niche, and he does it well, and he never feels even a little bit inclined to do anything different or better.
5. Church (Alpha)
Church isn't much of a foodie right off the bat, but someone's got to pack Caboose's lunch, and he ends up learning how to cook fairly well after that. After a certain point, he figures out how to make things from scratch--mostly things like chicken nuggets, mac and cheese, pancakes.
6. Simmons
I feel like Simmons mostly lives off of shit like green smoothies and homemade granola. Like, hardcore, low carb, vegan, all organic, high protein diet. And, like, it doesn't taste BAD. But it definitely isn't the kind of thing you bring to the red team dinner club. He does make a really nice sunbutter brownie that he has to hide from Grif.
7. Caboose
Caboose has been banned from using any objects in the kitchen that involve a heat source--which isn't HIS fault! How was he supposed to know that you're supposed to take the spoon OUT of the mac and cheese before putting it in the microwave? That's just a recipe for a cold spoon! Anyways, he manages just fine without the microwave, thank you very much. He can make ants on a log like it's nobody's business. Cleaning up afterwards is another matter entirely.
8. Carolina
Carolina is one of the most competent individuals you will ever meet. She could kill you in under a minute, in 30 different ways, and that's just with her bare hands. The fourth time Sarge tries to recruit her into red team is by inviting her to the monthly dinner club. She shows up empty handed, and when Donut very politely asks what she brought, she replies that it's very interesting that they expected the only woman on the team to go all out with cooking. They move on. Carolina spent 5 hours in the kitchen this afternoon trying to figure out how to use the oven. But they don't need to know that.
9. Tex
Now, listen. Tex can't be called a bad cook, precisely, because that would require she cook for herself or others. Which is something she does not do. That's what Church is for, isn't it?
10. Sarge
Sarge refuses to step foot in a kitchen after the fifth shouting match about how flamethrowers are not a universally recognized kitchen appliance.
11. Church (Epsilon)
One time, while blue team is shooting the wind, Caboose asks Epsilon what his favorite breakfast food is. Instead of calling Caboose a dumbass, as per usual, he instead goes into extensive detail about how he eats computer keys like cereal. Caboose tries it. It isn't very good.

2 - The Encounter
(Din Djarin x F!Reader)
Rating: 18+ for violence, explicit language, and smut.
Synopsis: "After a week alone on an unknown jungle planet, the Mandalorian returns to you from his hunt, but he isn't well."
Word count: 4k +
Chapter 1 | AO3 | Next chapter - coming soon
Tumblr media
9Aby - Unknown jungle planet  - Present
You stopped asking a while back.
Today it was  " unknown jungle planet, pretty rainy. It smells fresh, like summer morning dew drops."
You were writing notes in your datapad. You never had the chance to travel, so you wanted to keep a diary of sorts . You did it for every planet you visited.
"Not a soul in sight. Lots of bugs though. The kid likes eating them."
No sun breaks through the dark storm clouds above. It's the middle of the day, but it's dark as if it were night. A cool breeze passes through the inside of the Crest as you sit atop of the gangplank, just out of reach of the rain.
"Tall, thick pine-trees circle the ship, providing plenty of privacy. Hides us from any wandering enemies. Thick fog rolls in and out at times too."
The baby sits next to you on the cold durasteel, watching you type on your data pad. He coos softly, his head tilting as he studies the motions of your fingers. You glance down at him through your peripherals and smile.
"Mando's been gone for almost a week. Hoping he returns soon. Tired of the rain; ready for a new backdrop. Something sunny and bright."
Mando was hunting a well known smuggler who was last seen heading towards this planet. You couldn't blame the guy, if you were honest. This planet consists of nothing but dense wooded areas; all kinds of places for him to hideout until whoever was after him gave up.
That week, you spent a lot of time playing with the kid. He was pretty entertaining. He got into everything . Which was trouble. The little wamp rat was constantly trying to run out past the campsite and into the trees. Even after Mando gave explicit instructions not to leave the ship. But you couldn't stay cooped up there all week. Had he come back a little sooner, maybe. But he's been gone for six days . Could he honestly expect you and the little bundle of energy to stay on the ship ?
Shoot first and ask for forgiveness later.
It didn't rain the entire time you were there, thankfully. Earlier in the week, the two of you ventured out a little past the ship to see if you could find anything to snack on. Mushrooms, or berries. Maybe even some new spices you could take back to the ship. There was pre-made food on the ship. But you'd been eating those ration packs for months. You were dying to taste something new. Something fresh .
It turned out to be no luck for you, unfortunately. However, the baby did find a nest of indigenous bugs. He enjoyed those thoroughly. The little terrorist ripped through the nest like he hadn't eaten anything in a solar cycle. You can remember the distinct crunch , and then the sound of their gooey insides being chomped around in his mouth. Not one of your favorite moments with the kid.
It took you a few months to get used to him and his little quirks. He was well behaved for the most part. He was quiet and respectful. He didn't really make messes. If he did, he never complained when you instructed him to pick them up. He did have his moments though. It usually involved what he considered 'tasty food'. You'd say that was his biggest quirk. He wouldn't eat anything normal if you weren't there to make him; to ensure he got proper nutrients as any growing boy should.
Sometimes he would fight you on the regular food–the ration packs. He hated the goopy consistency of them. You did too, for that matter. You wondered how Mando survived on them all of these years. But, that's what he provided. And you weren't disrespectful. You took what he gave you with a smile.
Once you had enough credits saved up, you wanted to treat him and the baby to a nice, real dinner. Something that a red blooded man like Mando could use. Protein and carbohydrates. Maybe even some wine.
You'd make a note to ask him that.
"Does the Mandalorian drink wine?"
Something to thank him for his generosity and hospitality. Taking you on his ship. Giving you a job; an easy one . Saving you from that spice addict all those months ago…
You think back on that night often. Sometimes it keeps you awake in the darkness of the Crest's haul. You think about how his deep, modulated voice rang through the durasteel halls of your shop. You think about how he didn't hesitate to step in once he saw you were in immediate danger. You think about how… big he looked in his armor; how wide and bulky he was. His arms burst from under the Beskar pauldrons. You think about how gentle and soft he was once he secured your safety, immediately coming to your aid to check on you.
All for a woman he had never met before?? Just a lowly mechanic in a rundown shop on Tatooine. Dirty and covered in grease. Sweaty from a hot summer day. Probably smelly.
He didn't seem like an overly friendly person. He kept to himself. He was quiet and only spoke to you when absolutely necessary. Sometimes it's like you weren't even there.
You were still enamored by him, though.
Your thoughts weren't always pure, either. It concerns you how often you find your brain falling down a slippery slope to a sexual fantasy of your employer. It was easy to get rid of them in the beginning. You would simply start thinking of something else, something to distract you. It quickly became more difficult the more time you spent with him in this tight space.
You often wondered how he fucked. Does he even fuck ? Is he celibate? Is celibacy part of Mandalorian culture? Had he ever fucked before? Would he fuck you slow or fast? Would he fuck you hard or would he be gentle with you, like he was at your shop?
Your legs are crossed, thighs pressing together before you even realize what's going on. A fire in your core begins to burn like the Tatooine suns, threatening to shoot you into a dark state of arousal. A tension you could probably never resolve.
At that point, you don't realize your fingers are moving across the datapad…
"How big is he…."
You're almost in a trance, cheeks heated and red as your fingers move without supervision. You snap out of it when the baby coos next to you. You glance down at him, his big brown eyes watching you in wonderment. He cocks his head to the side as if he's curious and you clear your throat, also trying to clear your mind of the inappropriate thoughts you were having.
In the flustered process, you didn't even read what you had subconsciously written down; setting the data pad down next to you and picking the child up. Rain still patters softly on the crest, the wind blowing the tall trees circling around you.
The smell of the rain reminds you of him.
He was very clean. It was surprising to see a man shower so frequently. The men you encountered in life were never really conscious of their body odor. Mando was the opposite. He always smelled so good ; fresh like summer rain. Even coming back to the ship after a long, tiring, and perilous hunt, he still always smelled faintly like his soap, mixed with fresh dirt and plasma burn from his blaster. It was enamoring.
You could almost smell it now as you sat atop the gangplank of the Crest. It was a distinct smell of his that stuck with you. It was his husky smell, mixed with cool air and rain water. Small droplets bounce off the durasteel shell of the Crest as you sit silently next to the baby. And you’re shocked when you see trees rustling in the distance.
There’s a plasma gun in your pocket and your hand drops to hold it tightly–just in case. But a warm chill runs through your body and you exhale a sigh of relief when Mando emerges from the gloom of the forest.
He looks weathered and tired.
You squint and wonder why he’s moving so slow, but then you see the body he’s dragging behind him. This bounty was massive .
Stars , how could he transport that thing all by himself?
You stand on the gangplank to greet him, grabbing the baby and holding him against your chest. Once he gets a little closer, you can see why he’s struggling a little more than usual with this bounty. Apart from its massive girth. Mando is limping. And his flight suit looks torn to shreds. Maker, this one really put up a fight didn't he?
As he approaches, you quickly turn and rush to the baby’s pram, setting him inside and shutting the top for now. Once the baby is secure in his bed, you head back down the plank to assist Mando. He trudges up the ramp slowly, stopping half way and you swear you see him wobble a few times. When you approach, you rest your hands on his left shoulder to help stabilize him. He stops dead in his tracks and looks down at you. His hands are still holding onto the bounty tightly.
You pause, hoping you didn’t insult him by touching his shoulder. His chest rises slowly, but he’s taking much bigger breaths than any normal man should. Had he been shot as well? He watches you intently through the T-visor for a few moments, as if he’s collecting his thoughts.
You’re out from under the protection of the Crest’s haul now, rain pouring over your head and soaking your body. You look up at him through wet lashes. You mouth “what??”, as the sound of the rain now pouring down drowns your voice out.
He’s still just standing there, staring at you.
At this point, you’re getting irritated. Now soaked and just standing  in the pouring rain. You shove him forward, and that’s when he seems to snap out of his stupor. He stumbles into the Crest, throwing the lifeless bounty near the carbonite chambers. You step inside and immediately close the gangplank after him. When you turn around, he’s standing still with his back facing you.
You can see he has multiple deep cuts, and he’s visibly exhausted. Almost makes you feel bad for getting irritated with him.
You slowly start to approach him from behind, but then he whips around like he could see you coming. He’s still breathing heavy, his chest rising high and falling low with his deep breaths. His head hangs low, but the T-visor is still trained on you. His fists are opening and closing at his sides.
You stand there for a moment with caution. Something is wrong.
“You okay…?” You ask.
He stands there, staring at you for a few more moments before he turns silently and starts walking towards the fresher in the back of the ship. You watch him, utterly befuddled by this odd behavior. Really, it’s not like he ever speaks to you. You have yourself convinced that he doesn't even remember you exist half the time. He’ll cross paths with you on the ship like you’re a ghost floating in thin air.
He normally retreats and treats his own wounds when he does come back injured, but this is different.
The way he looked at you. How he stopped in his tracks when you touched him. How you felt his muscles tense at the gentle contact. His heavy breathing and his hands twitching at his sides. You noticed all of it. Something about it seemed…primal.
Primal and undisciplined.
Your mouth hangs agape as you watch the fresher door slide shut. For a few moments, you try to gather your thoughts. Such odd behavior.
After gathering yourself and your thoughts for a couple more moments, you step forward and begin heading up to the cockpit. Once there, you sit in the pilot's chair and listen to the soft pattering of the rain dropping against the Crest. It’s dark in here, no sunlight shining through as storm clouds continue to cover the sky on the wretched planet.
You sit back in the leather seat, letting your head rest against it.
You rest your eyes for a few moments. A few moments turns into an hour when you accidentally fall asleep.
When you wake up, it’s still raining and dark. You look around, Mando still isn't here. taking another deep breath before you open them again and will yourself to climb out of the pilot’s seat. You slowly make your way  down the ladder from the cockpit, to the fresher door. Normally when Mando is in the shower, you can see a thick fog seeping from underneath the door–he takes hot showers. Right now, you don’t spot any fog. You don't hear any noise.
You gently rest your ear against the door to see if you can hear anything, but you don’t hear a peep. Now your heart is starting to race. He’s normally done by now. He washes up quickly–even if he is wounded. He dresses his wounds at lightspeed.
After listening for a few moments longer, you still don’t hear anything.
Out of slight panic, your hand comes up without even realizing it and knocks on the fresher door. Just once.
You listen. No answer.
Two more knocks.
No answer.
"Mando?” You ask loudly enough for him to hear you.
You hold your breath for a moment so you don’t miss anything.
“Are you okay?” You warn, voice wavering.
Still no answer, but you do hear a faint groan. It’s very faint–like he didn’t intend for you to hear it at all.
“If you don’t answer I’m coming–.” You start to warn, but you’re cut off when the door to the fresher busts open. A violent wash of air hits you in the face, sending all of your hair falling to your back.
Mando stands before you, breathing heavily than he was earlier. He leans on one side of the doorway while his hand rests on the fresher door where he forced it open. He grunts and shoves past you like you aren't even there. You turn to watch him limp over to a cabinet that’s built into the haul of the Crest. His gloved fingers tangle around the handle but he struggles to open it. He now has one hand on his side, holding a fresh wound.
Maker, why is he so fucking stubborn?
You approach him from behind, careful not to get too close in this state. It’s almost like he can sense you’re getting close because he stops what he’s doing and shuffles away from you again. That hurts a little.
“Let me help,” You say sweetly, trying to bring him comfort.
He groans audibly through his helmet. His breaths are shaky and gravely.
“Go away.” He finally speaks.
“You need help.” You say, getting a little closer to him again. This time he doesn’t move as much.
“Y’--can’t help.” He mumbles, still clutching his side. He starts to slump over against the wall. The beskar clunks when it hits the cold durasteel.
Slowly and very carefully, you approach him and gently lay your hand on his shoulder. A shockwave of chills run down his body and he lets out another hoarse groan.
“Tell me what’s wrong.” You say, bringing your other hand to lay over his shoulder. Both hands now softly against his body.
He huffs through the vocoder, slowly turning his helmet towards you. It drags on the wall as he does so.
“Aphrodisiac…” He mumbles, it's barely audible, and he isn't enunciating very well right now.
You lean a bit closer to hear better. “What?”
He grunts out of frustration, his hand balling into a fist on the wall as you inch closer to him. His muscles tense and he lets out another shaky breath.
“B-bounty hit me wit-with a…..”
It’s at that moment you finally realize what’s been going on. Your cheeks flush a bright pink and your eyes open a little wider than they were before. That’s why he couldn’t stop staring at you when you touched him.
An aphrodisiac is a drug that stimulates sexual desire–makes all forms of decency and pleasantries go out the window. It scratches a primal desire deep within, and cannot be flushed out of the system without release. It stimulates the senses–which explains why he was so sensitive when you touched him just now.
You keep your hands on his shoulder, watching him as you contemplate your next move. Should you offer to help him? What would he think? Would he turn you down? Fire you for making advances on him ? Your breath is caught in your throat and your heart is now racing. Your mouth is going dry, your lips starting to chap as you think of your next move. He hasn't said anything in a moment. He’s still leaning up against the wall, his helmet resting on the cold durasteel. For a moment you think it may just stay this way, but then he speaks.
He turns his helmet a little towards you again. “Y-’need t-to leave…the s-ship..” He mumbles.
You lock eyes on his t-visor again. “I can’t just leave you like this.”
You watch as his hand leaves the wall and comes back to grab yours. His cold leather glove feels like ice when it wraps around your much smaller and delicate digits. He grabs you hard, and pulls your hands away from his shoulder. When he releases your hands, that same gloved hand that just grabbed you flies up and flattens against your chest, shoving you back against the cold wall. His palm butterflies against your skin, covering your entire chest.
You grunt at the harsh impact, your lower back immediately arching off the wall, coming closer to his waist.
“Leave. Now .” He hisses. One hand remains butterflied on your chest while the other holds him off the wall above your head, boxing you in.
Your face is still bright pink, and now your breathing is a little elevated. Your lips part to speak, but when he shifts on his feet you glance down and see how painfully hard he is under his trousers. The sight of him like this sends an erotic chill down your spine. Your mouth is hanging open again, soft breaths sneaking through your teeth. He doesn't say anything, just stands above you–his chest puffing up and down in a rhythmic fashion as he tries to control his primal urges.
Your lashes flutter as you look back up into his T-visor. You want to offer him a resolution. You want to offer him release . But you’re nervous he may shoot you down. His body radiates like a furnace above you, making yours burn in return.
“ I can help you .” Your voice is just above a whisper, eyes shooting back and forth rapidly as you try to catch his eyes through the tinted visor of his helmet.
He remains in front of you, his chest heaving up and down like a medieval mammal getting ready to attack its prey. His fingers twitch on the wall next to your head. It’s almost scary how still he is as he stands over you.
When he doesn’t respond, you slowly reach both hands to rest them on his stomach. Once your palms are flattened on his toned stomach, you slowly begin to snake them around his armored sides–with much caution of course. You keep your eyes on his helmet to gauge his reaction as you proceed slowly. Your fingers grip the taut fabric of his flight suit gently, and you slowly start to pull him towards you.
He doesn’t pull back.
With your hands now on his waist, you’re pulling his clothed erection towards your front. Without warning, he removes his hand from your chest and flattens it up against the wall next to your head. He’s leaning in now–going with you. When you get his waist close enough to yours, you take the initiative to lift one of your legs up, helping to fit him in nicely between your thighs, while letting one of your feet remain on the floor to keep you steady. Now he’s hot and hard against your clothed core. He burns like the Tatooine suns combined, bringing more friction to your core as he slowly presses himself against you.
He groans loudly this time, his gloved fingers digging into the durasteel wall behind you.
Your hands continue to grip his waist and pull him as close to you as possible. And soon, he starts letting his upper body fall against you as well. He’s so much bigger this close up. He towers over you, leaning most of his weight on you now. He doesn’t let his helmet fall this time though.
No.
He wants to watch your reaction as he starts to thrust against your clothed core.
His hips roll in deep harsh thrusts, forcing your entire body back and up the wall as he starts to really man-handle you.
He leans into you harder, letting his right arm drop so he can grab ahold of the pillowy flesh of your hip and hold your leg up steady against his waist. He spreads you a little too while doing so. He holds you there, pushing into you harder and faster by the second.
Something hot and heavy is starting to burn inside you. He thrusts his hips into yours, his hard cock rubbing against your clothed core without shame. You never thought it could feel this good when there wasn’t skin-to-skin involved but maker does he know what he is doing. Does he know what he's doing or is this just pure, blind, lust taking over his body?
This has to be a fever dream or something because holy fuck . There’s no way the Mandalorian–big, mean and unwavering–is dry humping you right now. The most feared bounty hunter in all the galaxies is holding you up against a wall, panting in your ear like a rancor in heat, and rubbing his hard cock against you.
Your body jolts up and down against his, your back still firm against the cold wall. He grunts as his thrusts become more quick and needy. He lets his helmet drop to lay in the nape of your neck. A bead of sweat rolls from your forehead and drops onto the cold beskar of his helmet. He pants loudly into your skin as he continues fucking you over your clothes. One of his hands remains on your hip, the other one moves to snake behind your head so you can rest it. You let out a whimper when he thrusts on you particularly hard–his hard cock pressing against your sensitive clothed clit.
“S-smell so good…” He mumbles into your neck.
You glide your hands up his body, letting one hand slide up the back of his neck to massage the base of his skull. He mmm’s low in his throat, nuzzling further into your soft skin as he continues to dry hump you.
“S’soft….fuck, you’re s-so soft sweet girl…..” He speaks.
You smile softly, resting your cheek against the cold beskar helmet as his thrusts start to become sloppy. You whimper when he hits that sweet spot again, putting friction on your swollen clit.
When you moan, he starts thrusting faster. His grip tightens on your thigh, and he pulls your body closer to his. He’s sloppy now, hinting at his upcoming release.
"Y-you close? m’--y-you gonna cum?” He asks–and fuck . You wish you were.
It’s too much though. This all came on so fast that you can’t really focus and enjoy what he’s doing to you. No, it’s more difficult than that. You’re too focused on other things like the feeling of his helmet resting on your shoulder. Or the sounds he’s making of which you never ever thought you’d hear. Or the way he’s talking. The way squeezing your hip so hard that you know it’ll be bruised tomorrow. It feels so fucking good –but you don’t know if you can cum for him just yet. But he doesn’t need to know that.
“Yeah..” You whimper softly as he thrusts up against you.
You grip him a bit harder, letting him get as close as possible to reach his release. When he does, it’s magnificent. His first behind you smashes into the haul with force and he groans something in a foreign language. His body shutters violently and you feel the warmth spreading in his trousers. The hand wrapped around your hip slowly starts to lose tension, and eventually falls from you. Your leg falls limp with it, your foot slamming against the floor.
He huffs heavy breaths against your neck, still leaning against you. You breathe heavily with him, letting your head fall back against the wall.
After a few moments you notice his heavy breathing has stopped.
“Mando?” You ask through a whisper.
He doesn’t answer. You soon know why, because a few moments later you realize his body is getting heavier and heavier. He starts to fall, completely knocked out as he lays against you. You curse as he starts to slide and you have no choice but to go with him. His beskar armor clunks heavily on the floor.
You sit up and look down at him after you finally manage to wiggle from underneath him.
How the fuck are you supposed to get him into his cot now?

The Taste Test Terror of Task Force: Stalker (Part 1)
---------------------------------------------------------- | All the Ghosts | Fluff/ Slice of Life | CW: gross descriptions of food? |
Part 1 of what is, hopefully, going to be a hilarious story of our beloved Boo Crew taste testing the new DOD MRE menu. Let's see how it goes?
I want to give a heartfelt shout out to the wonderful @milkteaarttime for inspiring this in a chat. Luv ya!
Note: I'm breaking this fic up into parts.

"Do you know why Merrick called us all together?"
Hesh sighed as he slouched in his seat. It was too early in the morning for any kind of meeting to be held. Not that early morning meetings never happened; it was that they were just rare.
"No damn clue man. He usually gives us at least a heads up about what we're meeting about," Kick spoke, fiddling with a stray rubber band he found on the table. He yawned and groaned, tired and half asleep like the other men who flanked him. "I hate when we don't know what's going on."
The other men of the Ghosts were just as perplexed about this impromptu meeting. It couldn't be a mission or a briefing. In fact, they had it pretty easy these past few days. To them, there was nothing that stood out as to what the meeting could be over. There was no new intel and Federation forces were relatively quiet at the moment. There's hadn't been any incidents along the wall where no man's land was, and they didn't have to do any parameter sweeps. In fact, if anything, it was UNUSUALLY quiet. No skirmishes breaking out, no shady activity, Nothing. As they sat around the table talking, the door to their common area creaks as Merrick steps in. The captain of the Ghosts was carrying a large box stamped with "MRE" on the side.
"Alright, listen up," Merrick exclaims as he puts the heavy box down on the table. "We have a unique task at hand. The DOD is rolling out a new MRE menu and we've been selected to serve as taste testers."
It was as if those words sent a jolt of excitement through the fatigued men that sat before him. He could see their eyebrows raised with surprise and their normally tired eyes lighten up with eagerness.
"MRE taste testing, huh? Did those suits up at the Pentagon finally get the memo that what they've been passing off as food is complete shit?" Kick chuckles as he sits back.
"God, I hope we get some quality coffee instead of that weird just-add-water dirt," Hesh mumbles.
"Well, I can't promise anything, boys. That's why we're taste testing." Merrick opens the large box and pulls out a number of note pads and begins passing them out. He then pulls out a multi-page document.
"So, this is how it's going to work. We have a weeks’ worth of MREs to taste test. We're supposed to log our opinions in these notebooks based on what we eat and what we think of it. I figured what we can do is we all work on this together on this one. Every evening, test one of these things out for dinner. Sound good?"
The men all nod their heads in agreement.
"Okay," Merrick continues. "Now, I'm supposed to read to you some info first. One, these MREs are designed to be protein focused for energy. Two, the DOD is looking into expanding to more meals that would be appealing. I have a list of the meals we'll be testing."
Merrick flips the pages of the document as he leans on the heavy box.
"We've got the box of dinner meals. We've got a beef dish, grilled chicken, a vegetarian pasta dish, some other things and fish? Really?" Merrick's eyes narrowed as he read the menu list, then shrugs.
Logan raises his hand.
"Sir, do the MREs come with the side dish. Like, do we get rice pilaf or veggies or is it just the main.
Merrick flipped over the documents in his hand, scanning for the full contents.
"It's a full MRE so sides, condiments, utensils, and the flame-less ration heater too."
Logan gets a look of delight on his face. “God, I hope we still get a cookie in there. That was the only good thing out of those packs.”
Merrick scans the room for any other questions from the men.
“Alright, so we’ll start on this tonight. We’ll test these out together and fill out our little notebooks with our opinions. No skipping out or dodging this. We’re eating these things as a team, got it?” The ghosts all nod as a sense of intrigue washes over them.
“Taste testing a new MRE menu… this could be exciting,” Hesh muses.
“Yeah… or a real vomit fest,” Keegan chuckles.
