„Denk an deinen Ruf, Aerea!“ jammerte Mutter wütend und schwang ihren Zeigefinger durch die Luft, als würde man ein Messer auf einen Eindringling zielen. „Ich glaube nicht, dass es um meinen Ruf geht, um den du dir Sorgen machst“, antwortete Aerea rundheraus.

„Ich bin mir nicht sicher, ob das jemals so war ..”

„Wenn du nicht bei uns bleibst…“, begann Mutter– und einen Moment lang war Unentschlossenheit in ihren Augen zu sehen, bevor sie hart wurden–„ Dann war's das.” „Wie, das war's?” , fragte Aerea mit gerunzelter Stirn und machte fast instinktiv einen vorsichtigen Schritt zurück. In diesem Augenblick hätte man eine Nadel fallen lassen können und das Geräusch würde einem in den Ohren dröhnen.

„Wir können dich nicht weiter in unser Haus lassen, wenn du diesen Unsinn von ‘ Selbstfindung ’ und Fortgehen weiterhin glaubst und deiner Familie Kummer und Sorgen bereitest. Wie sollen wir unseren Nachbarn jemals wieder unter die Augen treten?”, sagte ihr Vater angespannt. „Du hast Anesidora's Großzügigkeit und Güte mit Füßen getreten. Wenn du nicht bereit bist, Buße zu tun und Reinigung zu suchen, können wir dir nicht helfen. Wir können nicht riskieren, dass sich diese Infektion ausbreitet.“

Aerea's Haltung war stockstill— dann machte sich Verwirrung breit. Infektion? Sie war doch nicht krank... bis die allzeit bekannte Wut langsam an die Oberfläche sprudelte, und dieses Mal schluckte sie's nicht herunter. Sie sagte sich nicht, sie sollte ‘ lieb ’ oder entgegenkommend sein. ‘ Sanftmütig ’. „Also seinen eigenen Kopf zu haben... einen eigenen Willen“, überlegte sie laut, „ist eine Krankheit für dich? Für euch beide? Etwas, das zu heilen gilt?”, ihre Stimme zitterte mit roher Emotion; anstatt Verständnis zu finden, fand sie das. Sture Ablehnung, ja, wenn sie nicht sogar Hass in den Augen ihrer Mutter sehen konnte.

„Du und die Ältesten wollen einen seelenlosen Arbeiter. Einen gehorsamen Roboter, dessen einziger Zweck darin besteht, zu dienen und sein Leben zu verschenken. Anesidora mag die Schöpferin unseres Lebens sein, aber dieses Leben gehört mir und ich werde es nicht länger von dir oder von einer Gruppe alter Greise, die glauben eine Gottheit flüstert ihnen Weisheiten zu, diktieren lassen.”

Ihre Augen brannten, sie konnte die Tränen beinahe schmecken die versuchten frei zu fließen aber sie hielt sich zurück; es wäre nur ein Zeichen von Schwäche im Anblick ihrer Eltern.

Wie einst als sie sich als junges Mädchen beim Spielen die Beine am Asphalt aufgeschürft hatte und bittere Krokodilstränen weinte— ihre Mutter verzog bloß den Mund und zwang sie dazu aufzustehen; sie hatte keines ihrer Kinder dazu erzogen, sich wie gewöhnliche Bälger zu verhalten.

Mit ihren letzten Stücken an Kraft warf sie einen Blick auf ihre versammelte Familie; ihre Brüder standen still im Wohnzimmer und beobachteten die Szene vor ihnen mit düsteren Augen. Zumindest wusste Aerea, dass ihre Brüder auf ihrer Seite standen. Sie mochten ihren Eltern zwar nicht die Stirn bieten, aber das war auch nicht nötig. Sie war dankbar für die Geborgenheit und die geschwisterliche Liebe die sie so klar in deren traurigen Gesichtern erhaschen konnte. Aerea warf jedem einen geladenen Blick zu und versuchte, so viele Emotionen wie möglich hineinzudrücken, bevor sie ihnen allen den Rücken zudrehte und aus dem Haus verschwand—wohlmöglich für den Rest ihres Lebens.

Overview; you help Armin put away books so he can get off work early for your weekly 'book date', and he mends the tattered one that you buy.

Notes; Oh!! Thank you for reminding me. I loved writing that one so much! Anyways, I got a bit carried away and made this a fair bit longer. But I hope you like it!

Armin was scurrying about the bookstore, shelving new second-hand book arrivals with a hum on his lips, when you strolled through the entrance of the store.

"Hi!" You greeted him, trotting to meet him.

"Oh! I — wh — uh hi! — OW!" He cried out, because the book he was trying to put away fell right onto his nose.

You had to laugh a little, "Are you okay?" You asked.

He nodded, "Y-yeah, I'm good." and rubbed his reddened nose. His eyes were a little watery.

You bent down and plucked the fallen book off the floor.

"Here." You said, and handed it to him.

He choked out a thank you, one so small and sweet that you had to smile. What a nervous boy, you thought. He was as nervous as a bird.

Armin composed himself, and then spoke, "You're — uh — you're here early."

"Oh, yeah, well! My boss let me off work early today, so I thought... well, I thought I may as well be early for our date."

"Oh... that's... nice." Armin blinked.

His mind was short-circuiting because of that last word, 'date'. Every Friday since meeting, you two had little writing and reading sessions at the upstairs cafe. But he never thought that you considered it a date... gosh, well now his heart was thumping loudly in his ears.

He went a bit blank, but reanimated himself just before he began staring at you in awkward silence.

"Um, I — well — I'll only get off my work at half-past... I'm sorry to make you wait."

"I could help shelf some!" You offered, nodding to the books in the cart. There were still so many to put away.

"Oh! N-no! No, you don't have to. Trust me, they're, like, really heavy. You'll get a sore back." He refused, swallowing nervously.

"Ah, come on. It'll go faster. And we can give each other backrubs afterwards." You joked.

Armin laughed nervously, "I — um — yeah. Okay." He said, and then did the thing he usually does when flustered; graze his undercut with his fingertips.

"U-um, there's lot of books that reminded me of y- that uh, that I thought you'd enjoy."

"Oh, which ones?" You asked interestedly, leaning closer to peer into the book cart.

Just that subtle increase in proximity between you and him had his heart on fire.

"Ah, there's two more Kerouacs... they're in pretty bad condition... I mean look at this one, it's almost coming apart at the seams." He frowned, picking out one of the books that was wedged in the cart.

"I don't mind! I don't mind at all... books that are falling apart are my favorite."

Armin laughed, "But why? I mean, they're so... annoying, I mean, while you're reading you're also battling to keep the pages from spilling out."

"I guess... but even still. I really like them. I'll just use some sellotape on them." You said, beaming down at the book. You already decided in the back of your mind to buy it.

Armin pulled his shoulders together a bit, and spoke in a shyer voice.

"I can mend that one for you, if you buy it. I mean, I — well — if you are buying it, that is." He offered.

"You can do that for me?!" You gasped, "Oh, I'd appreciate that so much."

Armin relaxed his shoulders, and swallowed sharply. "Yeah! Um, consider it repayment for helping me out..." He said.

"Alright, then let's get to work now, and you can fix my book later." You said excitedly.

And so you two started shelving the books, but Armin had become maladroit at shelving books all of a sudden. His embarrassment would have eaten him up alive if it weren't for your laughter and jokes.

He was dropping book after book, and placing the fantasy genres in the classics aisle. Really, he was all over the place.

After working through the top of the cart, Armin knelt down to take the bottom books out and hand them to you while you put them away. Which, might I add, was a grand feat, considering the shelves were overfilled with books. You had to really wedge them in.

"Hello there..." You smiled down at Umi, whose blue fur tickled your ankle.

Armin had let out a many sneezes because of the dust, but when Umi came he let out such a great sneeze that it scared her and she recoiled as if singed. You let out a big laugh.

"Sorry... the dust always gets to me. And I have a — a — ah — ah —" He nearly sneezed, " — ahllergies."

"Oh, how harrowing, Armin." You jokingly dramatized, meeting his eyes.

He looked up at you with a watery gaze, and blinked a few times to clear out the tears. Whenever you said his name, it had his heart levitating up to the clouds.

The two of you continued shelving books and bantering; you opened a book and hid behind it, and read lines from Shakespeare in a stupid voice to make him laugh.

And when Armin laughed, his grandfather looked over at the two of you. Wow, he hadn't heard him laugh like that in a long time.

You two took much longer than expected to put all the books away, but Armin didn't complain; it just meant he got more time with you, which is all he looked forward to every Friday.

After you bought the tattered book, you told Armin that you'd wait upstairs for him.

He squeaked out an 'okay!' and, as soon as you left, he reported to his grandfather about finishing work.

"Y/n helped me shelve the new arrivals... oh, but I forgot about the banisters..." Armin realized. He was supposed to sand down the wooden banister that Umi had gnawed to oblivion.

"Ah, do it another time." His grandfather dismissed.

"Really!" Armin's eyes glittered, "Thanks, pop!" He said, and quickly tore up the stairs to the cafe.

There was an antique mirror that hung alongside a collection of old war memorabilia and pictures; Armin stopped as soon as he caught his reflection, and grimaced a bit.

His bangs weren't sitting nicely, his night owl eyebags were very pronounced, his shirt collar was askew, and there were even bits of dryer lint clinging onto his sweater.

He didn't want to make you wait, so he very quickly neatened his appearance.

You caught a glimpse of him around the corner. If he knew that you could see him fussing over his hair, he would have died of embarrassment.

From the table you sat at, you watched as he combed down his bangs with his fingers, and then ruffled the tips. Then he frowned and did it again. He even checked his breath.

By the time he weaved through the tables to reach you, you were dissolving in quiet laughter behind your palm.

"What is it?" Armin asked innocently, sitting down in front of you. He dumped his satchel on the floor.

"Nothing... nothing." You waved your hand dismissively.

The golden light flooded the cafe, and there were scents of coffee and cake carrying into your lungs with each inhale. This small cafe was had the most pleasant feeling about it.

He was sat with his hands placed nervously on his knees. You noticed that he looked down a lot when talking, and that his one leg liked to bounce up and down energetically.

But when he drew his gaze up at you, the whole world stopped for a moment; the light at this hour hit his eyes at such a perfect angle that it revealed all the hidden, subtle colors that were swimming in his oceanic irises.

For a moment, Armin seemed too captivated by you to move. Then he suddenly reanimated himself.

"Oh, I forgot... I was going to mend your book." He remembered.

"Oh, right!" You hummed and pulled it out of your bag for him.

And so, for the rest of the evening, he mended the spine of your book and carefully glued the pages back into place.

His fingers were so careful and nimble, like he was handling a baby and not a book. At times, his brows furrowed together and he poked his tongue out in focus.

Laughter rippled down from the cafe loft into the bookstore like little waves, and it just made his grandfather smile up at where you two sat. He could see even from so far away how Armin's whole spirit brightened because of you.

ⅲ — watching hxh for the 8th time again and something sparked inside of me to write this. so yeah, enjoy.

it’s been a long time. days, weeks, hell even months since you’ve seen your boyfriend. you were growing impatient from wanting to hear that familiar knock on your apartment door for so long. that knock you’ve longed to hear for months—you don’t even know the duration yourself.

you started to bore yourself from watching the door for so long. it was almost like he had another mission to fulfill, but he didn’t have time to tell you. the thing is, he’s always told you when he had to fill out a mission.

deep down, your boyfriend—illumi zoldyck—cared about you deeply. even though he has a smooth and un-careable exterior, inside he has this little garden that surrounds his heart for you.

so when you heard that one familiar knock on your apartment door you knew from heart, and when you saw that knob twitch until it was fully turned, when you saw that crack in the door and sunlight bleeding through into your hardwood floor.

you quickly rushed to the door and embraced in illumi's warmth—well, normally coldness but since it was so warm outside he must’ve got infected by the sunlight.

you started to cry a little bit, staining your tears on illumi’s normal uniform. the front of his needles started to make their way into your own flesh. even though it was the blunt side, illumi took notice of this and quickly removed you from his grasp.

you peered your eyes at him, while his dark bug-liked eyes looked at yours. he quickly caught your lips between his, tongue quickly exploring your mouth as he made his way into your shared apartment.

“missed you so much, illu.” you managed to gasp out. he let out a small hum before ending his assault on your lips. “‘m sorry.” he mumbled out, burying his face between the crook of your neck, leaving a few kisses there. “sorry for being gone for so long.”

you combed through illumi’s hair as he went on his rant about him being sorry for not being in your presence for so long. “‘s okay illumi. i forgive you. i’m just glad your home safe and uninjured.”

you felt illumi’s rare smile melt itself into your shoulder.

“do you need anything right now?” you questioned, still combing your fingers through his hair and massaging his scalp. he let out a low groan from your movements as he responded with, “i just need you right now.”

“only you.”

you had made it a tradition since then to greet him with kisses on his neck, loving his small laughs and cherishing your relationship.

Aerea pulled into her parents' driveway, their ancestral home was an enormous colonial mansion—the walls and columns around the front entry painted an almost blinding shade of white, while the whole building was surrounded by manicured lawns and unsettlingly symmetrical landscaping. As sleek as the property looked, so did her mother.

No one would guess she'd had five kids , aged 32, 29, 24, 19 and 10 though she’d only been 20 when she had Aerea— which helped. Most agathos women would have had at least ten children in that time; one girl and a litter of boys usually, but Anesidora hadn't blessed her as well in that aspect. “ Do you have any idea how rude it is to just sit in your car, while your family is waiting for you? You're out two weeks and it’s like you’ve forgotten everything you've been taught,” Mother added while Aerea blanked for a reply. She was sitting in her car for maybe 2 minutes—but no matter how much independence she gained, her mother had the ability to make it feel so insignificant.

"I’m more worried about your eye,” her father added, doubling back and gently lifting her chin up to inspect her black eye.

" I used too much luck yesterday and ended up in the middle of an altercation outside a bar, " she said, self consciously pulling her hair forward to cover that side of her face. “ I know, " her mother said coolly, giving Aerea a scathing look. “ Penelope of Healing Hearts Shelter already told me you’d called in sick." “ Which seems totally reasonable, considering her state," her eldest brother added softly, though her mother's face said she strongly disagreed.

She didn’t even seem that concerned about the black eye — Agathos women were meant to be cherished, but not Aerea. She'd been an outcast, difficult kid who’d emerged with a gift no one respected. Her mother always lamented in private how they'd be more blessed if she had emerged with the gift of Sophia instead, as ‘ Wisdom would be so much more eligible in the Agathos community ’ — in her words. But in public she acted like she was proud of it and her, of course.

But every gift came with a price and Aerea couldn't tell which one was the worst. Hygeia, she thought. She could have been sattled with the gift of Good Health instead. The daughter of their next-door neighbors, Ilana , had emerged just last month and she had been gifted Hygeia, meaning she could heal any wound or illness but would have to suffer it herself instead. It was almost as rare as the gift of Eutychia, which made her come to the conclusion that maybe the goddess did curse her.

Scribble festival is a collaboration between writers in the enstars x reader community. All requests will be collected via a Google Form, which all participating writers will have access to. Any writer may write any request they want.

Ⅱ. WHAT IS THE SCRIBBLE FESTIVAL?

The scribble festival is a collaboration between writers in the enstars x reader community, where readers can send requests to all of the writers, and they won’t know who wrote their request until it is published. There will be a Google form for readers to submit their requests, and all the writers who are participating will be able to choose a request to write.

This provides an opportunity for writers to write requests they may not see otherwise and for readers to get a taste of all of these writers’ writing styles, as well as an element of surprise for the readers when they see who wrote their request!

For requesters;

Please be respectful to the writers when requesting! We always love a bit of small talk, and we will respond to it. We love interaction, so please feel free to interact with us in your requests & our inboxes!

Please try to keep the options open for writers who will write your request(s); that is part of the point of the event, but if you don’t like certain writers, we also would like to respect that.

The writers reserve the right to refuse any request sent into the form.

Translator’s note: This CD has been mentioned so many times to me as the elusive ‘Shuu works as a cashier’ CD and finally I got the chance to translate it! Up till now, only a short sample clip was circling the internet, but one of my wonderful followers purchased the CD and shared the audio with me. uwu Even though this CD doesn’t have a lot of my favorite (aside from Shuu), I still enjoyed it a lot! It was so much fun to imagine the absolute chaos breaking loose as these 5 Vampires try to run a convenience store.

Translator’s note: I found this CD to be incredibly informative and interesting because it really does teach us more about the Demon World and its traditions. I genuinely had a lot of fun hearing them talk about the three different household’s various customs when it comes to parties and ceremonies. :3 Rejet should definitely make more drama CDs like these which combine light-hearted comedy with lore.

hear those silver bells? it's christmas time in los angeles. some families actually do make the yuletide gay, managing to leave their troubles far away. other families have a merry little christmas even when their troubles aren't so far away. some presents might end up returned but some gifts are for keeps. other presents come when you least expect them and everyone knows the biggest present comes in the smallest box. then there are those boxes you wish you had never opened. have a holly jolly christmas, xoxo.

‹ ⅰ. › you have been cordially invited to celebrate christmas eve at the kennedy estate in hidden hills, california. this year's theme is 'the colors of the season.' there will be different themed rooms throughout the home that will be color coordinated - red, green, white, silver, gold and black. the dress code is to wear one of these colors. admission to the party will not be granted if you are not following dress code. this is not a casual event by any means, so please do dress your best.

‹ ⅱ. › the party will be taking place on discord. please keep an eye out for the link. while the event will be taking place over the span of one night rp time (december 24th, 2023), you can start writing on sunday, december 10th, 2023. threads can continue until everyone completes their writing.

‹ ⅲ. › in the spirit of the season, kathy kennedy hosts an annual 'kathy kringle' where she pairs up people from the party to exchange gifts with one another. under the cut, please find your partner. there will be a channel in the event server where you can drop pictures and edits of the gifts called 'kathy kringle' and you can write out your characters exchanging gifts in the 'grand foyer' channel

‹ ⅳ. › gossip girl has eyes everywhere, especially in an event as star studded as this one. if there's anything specific that you don't want leaked, please be sure to come to me before hand. if not, everything is up for grabs and can potentially be blasted for everyone to see.
