Being the change we want to see in the world really can be as simple as one small action! This year my act of green pledges are to cut bacon (and any other form of pork) out of my grocery bill and to boycott Walmart.
What small act can you do to make the world a greener place? There are lots of quick and easy things you can do to improve your environmental footprint.
I encourage you to make your own pledge to act green and leave it in the comments, or make your own video with the hashtag #ActofGreen so I can add it to the playlist! Be a part of what the world needs, and make change today! Happy #EarthDay Everyone!
P.S. Earth Day is really every day, so please still take the challenge and make your own #ActofGreen pledge, even if you're watching this after/before April 22nd!

This video is an ask for help from the Lovely Learned community to keep my vehicle on the road. I was scammed when buying the car that I currently have and its about to completely fall apart. Initially I was planning to just accept the loss and return to exclusively using public transit but when it came time to face losing the car I found myself in utter panic. It became much more clear to me that a vehicle isn't just simply the luxury of having convenient transportation. Due to my disabilities, a vehicle is basically a disability-aid, as it helps me take care of my daily needs like grocery shopping, while massively reducing the pain and struggle involved in accomplishing such tasks. Additionally I began to reflect on all of the charity and community work I do with my vehicle that would all have to come to a complete halt if I lost it. Thus, after working through my nervous fear of asking for help I have created this video to explain my situation and request help from anyone who is able to spare a little. Any small donation helps in adding up to the final goal. So if you have even $1 to spare, thank you so very much! Your generosity truly means the world to both me and my community. For those able to help within Canada, please e-transfer your donation to: [email protected] For those able to help outside of Canada please check out this video description for the PayPal fundraiser link

I hadn't posted a video on this topic because I didn't feel I had enough experience or historical knowledge to offer any helpful contributions. I was afraid to muddle the waters of other people who share incredibly informative content but in this I was neglecting my part in being the change I want to see in the world. Just because I don't understand details behind the nuanced politics of Israel doesn't mean I cant CLEARLY see that they are committing an absolutely abhorrent genocide against Palestinian people and nothing can possibly justify the atrocities they have committed and continue to commit. Thus I decided to put this video out to share some encouragement with others to speak out in any little way you possibly can against these war crimes because every new voice contributes to the volume our government representatives hear and thus the urgency they eventually feel to act. It is through our belief in and contributions to collective action that real change can happen!

I've recently found myself in the headspace to finally begin some very essential therapeutic work that I've found myself resisting for many years: Reparenting. You dont necessarily need to be doing parts work therapy in order to be successful with reparenting yourself but I've found that my recent work has been the key to this concept for me. For so long I've felt angry, frustrated and straight up resistant to any idea of having to do reparenting work because I was mad that my parents didnt have to do it themselves. It felt like giving them a 'get out of jail' free card, and I thus struggled to process the sense of injustice that came along with those ideas. Thankfully through the work I've been doing in parts work therapy I've finally found my way to feeling ready to start this very important process of reparenting and Im looking forward to see where it takes me. Check out my video to learn more.

I think I still have really far to go but after only 7 months I've made so much progress that I felt I needed to share about it with others. After over a decade of therapy on and off, I was getting frustrated with feeling stagnant but Part Work really helped in resolving that feeling. So if you or someone you know has been doing therapy for a long time but don't feel any real progress has been made, maybe it might be worth finding a therapist trained in Parts Work? You never know until you try!

This video provides highlights of the public participation meeting hosted on Tuesday, February 27th 2024 in London, Ontario where literally hundreds of Londoners came out to call on our local city council to defund the police. I found it very inspiring to see so many caring, compassionate and educated Londoner's coming out to be active members of their local government. Thus, I wanted to share that sense of inspiration with others through the creation of this compilation. I did my best to pull together all of the speeches made in support of defunding the police and then trimmed them back to the best highlights.

As of July 2023 the Ontario Disability Support Program has been tied to the provincial inflation rate. This means that each year the increases provided within the program will match the increased cost of living across the province. Unfortunately it will be abroad measure, rather than specific to each municipality so some areas that face higher rates will still be unmatched but hopefully the Federal Disability Benefit will eventually help make up the difference overall. Check out the video to learn more and share your thoughts in the comments below.

I recently traveled to Guadalajara, Mexico to attend a music festival called Corona Capital and oh my gosh was the travel there and back a whole story in itself! Being a huge fan of live music, I follow a lot of my favorite artists on social media's like Instagram and Twitter. Thus, when my favorite band, Bastille, posted that they were going to be featured at the Corona Capital Guadalajara music festival and I quickly learned my other absolutely favorite band, Imagine Dragons, was ALSO attending, it just felt like a once in a lifetime experience I couldn't miss! When will Imagine Dragons and Bastille ever be in the same event again!? I wasn't about to assume it would happen more than once so I looked into my finances and decided to make the leap. Overall we were able to afford the trip rather decently but then one of our flights home was cancelled and with it, our initial budget went all to hell. Check out the video to learn more and please share in the comments if you have any questions or similar experiences to relate!
