Not to sound sensitive or anything but I feel like maybe being called annoying even by older siblings as a kid could make a lasting impact on a person. Being annoying > oh I’m too much > how small must u make myself > oh no I’m withering away

Children will begin to analyze all others and become the perfect size even if that means to disappear. They take away less and less of their personalities to please others, which could become mentally draining

Sometimes I do wish that bullying was taken as seriously over here as it is in media in countries like South Korea…idols can get cancelled for it but in America people just say “ugh middle school was so long ago” and bully you for having trauma…(sorry if this post in inaccurate, this is simply what I’ve seen in the media and experienced myself)

I always thought that guarding your heart meant impenetrable walls. I’m often good at imagining my own defenses, and so I thought it would be like steel beams encasing my heart once I was hurt too much.

It isn’t - not for everyone, that is. Sometimes protecting your heart is simply about, well…protecting it. My mind stands in front of my heart with a hand in front of it and evaluates all threats. My mind is an overprotective mother in a city with a 7 year old child

It’s crazy that being the gifted kid and having childhood trauma means you’ve been like 18 since you were 6 so on one half everyone leaves you to your own devices and expects a ton from you and you’re hyper independent and stuff and then on the other hand you’re the youngest sibling with medical trauma so you HAVE to be dependent to some extent so they baby you and treat you like a 5 year old when you’re 16

Was talking to my new therapist and we’re still in that “getting to know you” phase cause we only have an hour each time and she said “we need like a two hour session” and proceeded to laugh as if she didn’t just call me the most mentally ill person to grace her presence 😭😭
