It’s really, really simple and yet so versatile and effective. ▫️ I almost always cook a base of quinoa, brown rice, whole grain or lentil pasta, add a protein source and whatever bunch of veggies I have available and which are in season. ▫️ This approach has been working really great for me. ❇️ Vegan Burritos ▫️ Credit: ➡ @plantsforfit ▫️ 📖 Ingredients: ▫️ 🔵 3 Potatoes 🔵 Rosemary spice 🔵 1 avocado sliced 🔵 1 can of kidney beans (rinse them well or cook your own) 🔵 1 of each bell pepper you like chopped 🔵 1 onion chopped 🔵 2 cloves of garlic 🔵 Red cabbage (chopped) 🔵 Pepper and other spices you like! ▫️ 📖 Cashew Sauce Ingredients: ▫️ 🔵 2 Tbsp. It was originally created back in the 1920s as a way of controlling epilepsy symptoms in children, short term. Despite numerous studies showing the dangers of consuming a diet high in saturated fats and animal protein over a long period of time, it has been marketed as the cure to fast weight loss and overall improved health. ▫️ ℹ The science: by removing carbohydrates, the body will not absorb glucose into the blood stream. By doing this, you deprive the brain and the body of its primary fuel source and it begins to breakdown fats and produce ketones in the liver. ▫️ The idea is that by staving the body of glucose, you will initiate fat metabolism which supporters of the KD say results in weight loss and greater mental performance. ▫️ 🤓 However this rise in fat oxidation is often misconstrued as a greater rate of net fat mass reduction on the body, but this assumption ignores the increase in fat intake and storage. ▫️ The reason people experience fast weight loss initially on a KD is not because they are burning loads of fat, but because the body is also burning protein in the absence of carbohydrates and protein = lean body mass (fat free mass) something you don't want to be losing no matter who you are!
