Ghostbusters: the comic version of the classic movie from the 80s
Tumblr media
Released in 1984, the first installment of Ghostbusters immediately became a favorite of the public and gave rise to one of the most successful franchises of the decade. His mixture of black humor, excellent special effects, a luxury cast, and some of the best-accomplished ghosts in the history of the movie made it remain to this day as one of the sources of content most enjoyed by the global audience. So much so that in 2016 will be released a new version of the film starring women.
Now, entering matter, Ghostbusters has appeared in the comic format discontinuously since 1989, belonging to several international publishers, and changing its plot and its protagonists on numerous occasions. In its first year, in fact, 2 series appeared simultaneously, and in this case, The Real Ghostbusters was the first adaptation of the material to the comic and was shared between NOW Comics in the United States, and Marvel UK in the United Kingdom.
10 years after the end of The Real Ghostbusters, the 88MPH publisher decided to release Ghostbusters: Legion, a miniseries published in 2004 that basically kept the characters of the original film, but brought them 20 years into the future, to keep up with the real world.
Finally, we come to 2008, when things start to get a little more serious. After a negotiation, IDW manages to get the rights to the franchise and spends the next 3 years publishing miniseries and individual numbers, each with specific stories in which the Ghostbusters have to show how much they can handle some of the ghosts more amazing you’ve seen in a comic.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR VS. BATMAN V SUPERMAN
Batman vs. Superman and Captain America: Civil War, are not so different on the surface but one proved to be better than the other.
So this is how the battle goes; On one side, the Russo brothers fought for positioning themselves as the best superhero movie in history with Civil War. On the other side, Zack Snyder promised an epic fight between two favorite superheroes with Batman V Superman. But in the film industry, there can only be one winner. Today I’ll tell you - in my humble opinion - why the Cap knocked out Batman and Superman in the final battle. Believe that it is not just about the rating on Rotten Tomatoes (which is different by 63 percent!). It’s about the story, the characters and what made us feel. One last movie is missing for entering the fight, X-Men Apocalypse. But the critics of the media already assure us that they do not reach the heels of the last installment of the first Avenger.
Christopher Nolan wore the crown with the trilogy of The Dark Knight. Christian Bale was an excellent Batman and, honestly, Marvel struggled to be like his DC counterparts. Movies like The Fantastic Four (where you could also see Chris Evans) were almost a joke compared to what Warner Bros. was getting. But when 2008 arrived, and with him, Iron Man, things started to change. Marvel grew, meeting the expectations of the fans and DC began to fall behind. Today, Marvel is the king of superhero cinematography and DC has a great leap to give (and hopefully do with the Justice League and other projects that come behind) to re-call direct competition, Marvel.
HISTORY
Let’s compare history viciously. In Civil War, governments in more than 100 countries want superheroes to take responsibility for the civilian casualties caused by their interventions. In Dawn of Justice, Batman wants to blame Superman for the civilian casualties it causes, while Superman expects the same from the batman. Coincidence? Both films have - on the surface - exactly the same plot. But, the difference comes when you start to remove the layers of an onion.
Batman V Superman feels slow, heavy and uninteresting. The egos of Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne are great, and they threaten themselves between the lines to defend Batman or Superman. Actually, the conflict between the two is short, because there is a villain, Lex Luthor, who wakes Doomsday to end both. The truth is that - and we are not embarrassed to admit it - the question of becoming “friends” only because their mothers are called Martha gave us mocking laughter. There is no real connection between them, and besides, Lois Lane by Amy Adams is possibly the most irrelevant character to date.
Captain America, however, has a much more interesting underlying story, with more elements that keep the audience fully engaged. The story of the death of the parents of Iron Man, the bond that unites Bucky with Steve Rogers, the motivations of each character to fight, and even the introduction of Spider-Man and Black Panther are things that keep the rhythm of the film moving and each time bring a greater - but not confusing - conflict to the plot. As we remove layers of history, it becomes much more human. Beyond egos and superpowers, it’s about family and friendship.
VILLAINS
There is no competition here. The whole idea of Doomsday, the monster that Luthor awakens from Krypton’s ship, is pretty ridiculous in general (in terms of the movie, not the comics). The conflict could be focused, very much like Captain America, on the differences between Batman and Superman before following us with the Justice League (and all the other films of the members of the league). In Captain America, the underestimated villain was Helmut Zemo and he was an unexpected villain, extremely well calculated and did not have to get his hands dirty at all. He created a problem that caused the group to split, caused the conflict to be created among the Avengers and all for avenging the death of his family in Sokovia after the Age of Ultron events. Genius? We believe that yes.
In conclusion, for us, Lex Luthor is a crazy maniac who wants to destroy the heroes for no apparent reason. However, Zemo has a much more personal and emotional reason that makes him act in this way.
ACTION
A superhero movie is nothing without action. The problem comes when the action is an extra ingredient and not a crucial ingredient. Civil War definitely contains action scenes that are left over, and not only because they had to put all the characters. Actually, they are parts within action scenes. For example, is it necessary to see Sharon Carter out of the blue kick and try to fight Bucky? Not really, but there it is, trying to be as rough as the superheroes. They are minor things, and they give emotion to the film, but they are not crucial either. On the other hand, the Russo and the writers found a way to make the action weigh in the story in a more natural way. Yes, the scene of the car chase is the same as we see in all action movies (superheroes or regulars), but why is it special? There is a story there with Black Panther, with Bucky, and with Cap. That’s why these scenes win. Also, the airport scene is possibly our favorite. Not only is the whole conflict that divides the Avengers there, it goes far beyond the blows and shots.
Batman V Superman has a lot of action but nothing that makes us think “if this scene did not exist, the movie would not make sense”. In addition to the general tone is a little gloomy, we do not feel the same emotion we feel with the scenes of Marvel. The truth is that many people would have preferred that Doomsday ate all the heroes and finished the movie (these are assumptions based on comments that people have made about it). Of course, we are not going to deny that we love watching two superheroes grab hold of each other because, in the end, any kind of action is welcome in such a boring movie.
CHARACTERS
Marvel did something complicated adding so much superhero in a single movie, without losing the prominence of Captain America. After all, it’s a movie of him and not of the Avengers. There is something specific to differentiate between these two films here: before the conflict, Cap and Iron Man are friends, they work together, and despite their moral differences and the anger that Iron Man feels about the death of their parents, they finally put their friendship first of all In Batman V Superman, Wayne and Kent are not even known. The conflict that is created between them is almost superficial because there is no underlying history between them. Of course, they put their differences aside in the end because you have to defeat Doomsday and their mothers are called Martha. But the reality is that it feels almost forced. There is an emotional complexity at the heart of the Civil War conflict that makes it much easier to see. In addition, the secondary characters in the Marvel movie have a lot of reason to be there, to take sides, to motivate themselves and to do things. Each of them has a reason d'être within the film. We already know the stories of many of them, and those that do not, develop them briefly within the story. In Batman V Superman, we meet Wonder Woman, but we do not know anything about her, her motivations, or why she joins in fighting against Doomsday. This will be solved, in theory, with his individual film and then with the Justice League, but he left us with more questions than nothing.
CONCLUSION
Is Civil War better than Batman V Superman? In many ways, yes. Not for nothing critics hailed it as the best superhero movie so far. But neither can we say that Batman V Superman is the worst. In short, it is much better than the things that Marvel did pre-Iron Man. We compared them for two things: their premiere dates and their similarity in history; Unfortunately for DC, Marvel conquered us once again and their box office numbers prove it.

Date a girl who
Date a girl who reads. Date a girl who spends her money on books instead of clothes. She has problems with closet space because she has too many books. Date a girl who has a list of books she wants to read, who has had a library card since she was twelve. Find a girl who reads. You’ll know that she does because she will always have an unread book in her bag. She’s the one lovingly looking over the shelves in the bookstore, the one who quietly cries out when she finds the book she wants. You see the weird chick sniffing the pages of an old book in a second-hand bookshop? That’s the reader. They can never resist smelling the pages, especially when they are yellow. She’s the girl reading while waiting in that coffee shop down the street. If you take a peek at her mug, the non-dairy creamer is floating on top because she’s kind of engrossed already. Lost in a world of the author’s making. Sit down. She might give you a glare, as most girls who read do not like to be interrupted. Ask her if she likes the book. Buy her another cup of coffee. Let her know what you really think of Murakami. See if she got through the first chapter of Fellowship. Understand that if she says she understood James Joyce’s Ulysses she’s just saying that to sound intelligent. Ask her if she loves Alice or she would like to be Alice. It’s easy to date a girl who reads. Give her books for her birthday, for Christmas and for anniversaries. Give her the gift of words, in poetry, in song. Give her Neruda, Pound, Sexton, Cummings. Let her know that you understand that words are love. Understand that she knows the difference between books and reality but by god, she’s going to try to make her life a little like her favorite book. It will never be your fault if she does. She has to give it a shot somehow. Lie to her. If she understands syntax, she will understand your need to lie. Behind words are other things: motivation, value, nuance, dialogue. It will not be the end of the world. Fail her. Because a girl who reads knows that failure always leads up to the climax. Because girls who understand that all things will come to end. That you can always write a sequel. That you can begin again and again and still be the hero. That life is meant to have a villain or two. Why be frightened of everything that you are not? Girls who read understand that people, like characters, develop. Except in the Twilight series. If you find a girl who reads, keeps her close. When you find her up at 2 AM clutching a book to her chest and weeping, make her a cup of tea and hold her. You may lose her for a couple of hours but she will always come back to you. She’ll talk as if the characters in the book are real, because, for a while, they always are. You will propose on a hot air balloon. Or during a rock concert. Or very casually next time she’s sick. Over Skype. You will smile so hard you will wonder why your heart hasn’t burst and bled out all over your chest yet. You will write the story of your lives, have kids with strange names and even stranger tastes. She will introduce your children to the Cat in the Hat and Aslan, maybe in the same day. You will walk the winters of your old age together and she will recite Keats under her breath while you shake the snow off your boots. Date a girl who reads because you deserve it. You deserve a girl who can give you the most colorful life imaginable. If you can only give her monotony, and stale hours and half-baked proposals, then you’re better off alone. If you want the world and the worlds beyond it, date a girl who reads. Or better yet, date a girl who writes.

Rest In Power, King.
“Bury me in the ocean, with my ancestors that jumped from the ships, because they knew death was better than bondage.”
Tumblr media
Chadwick Boseman, 43, best known for his role as King T’Challa, aka, Black Panther, passed due to colon cancer.
He was diagnosed in 2016 with stage III cancer and in four years it progressed to stage IV. In this four years he went through several surgeries and chemotherapy during and between the filming of Gods of Egypt, Captain America: Civil War, Message From The King, Marshall, Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War,  21 Bridges,  Avengers: Endgame and Da 5 Bloods.
He filmed TEN movies. He never stopped creating art. He played many iconic roles.
Whether you like it or not, the Black Panther movie was symbolic. The main casta was black, the director was black and Boseman in the leading role was everything we could ask for in a black film. Chadwick played a man who came into his own as a King, having supportive and present father yet imperfect with a very strong family structure. We saw a reflection of who black people are and not what they have been made to be for decades in films.
Tumblr media
He inspired so many young black lives and helped them believe that they could be anything they wanted, even a superhero. While he was fighting Killmonger in Black Panther and Thanos in Avengers, he was also fighting Stage 4 Colon Cancer underground. He never looked like he was sick, his valor and boldness were incredibly amazing.
He was the face of so many powerful, impactful, and inspiring characters, but his own character as a human being, as a husband, as a role model, as a genius artist of his time and craft is the one that should be remembered and celebrated most of all.
Tumblr media
“In times of crisis, the wise build bridges while the foolish build barriers."
If there’s something that he has taught us is that we never use our situation as an excuse to fail in life.
Tumblr media
This is not a time to make jokes. If you think it’s appropriate to flash your "dark humour” now of all times, block me.
I´ve been a whole mess since I woke up this morning, I just can´t stop the saddness.
Note: In the pictures above he was visiting kids with cancer while he himself was dealing with it.

READ THIS. For fucks sake, if only people informed themselves a little bit or had more Star Wars culture..
i’d just like to say
this is to whoever started that god-awful rumor about boba fett taking over mando s3:
use your brain. USE YOUR BRAIN. productions don’t shift that dramatically. the script for season 2 was written and given to pedro pascal and the rest of the crew PRIOR to filming. were there negotiations, little bit of shifting around? maybe. however, it’s undeniable that din’s removal of his helmet was set in stone since season one. this was not something that pedro specifically wanted. the story was literally headed towards this for a while.
it shouldn’t take pascal’s stunt double brendan wayne to come out and confirm that the main star will be returning.
not to mention, giancarlo esposito very publicly (and very loudly) stated that seasons 3 and 4 were coming. this was several months ago, LONG before season 2 even aired.
so no, “book of boba fett” is not mando season 3. din’s story is not over. this man is technically the rightful ruler of mandalore now. bo could be an enemy next season. there is literally so much to unpack now.
plus, the boba fett series being set to air december 2021 means nothing. ik people think this is proof that it’s just mando season 3, but it doesn’t add up. why else would lucasfilm come up with a title? also, kathleen kennedy said during the investor’s day livestream that season 3 will air on christmas 2021, a saturday. meaning we could be getting a 3 or 4 part mini series from boba fett on the fridays prior to mando s3’s premiere.
it’s not rocket science.
as the man said:

The Mandalorian
I haven't seen people more crybaby, complainer, and more toxic than “””true Star Wars fans”””. They are never happy with anything. The sequels because this seems like the remake of episode IV, with The Last Jedi because the saga has been loaded with so much change, now with the last episode of The Mandalorian that if it is all nostalgia and fan service and bad CGI, the shit about Boba Fett replacing Din Djarin or Kylo Ren and what happens to the Jedi Academy. It's the most fucking emotional moment you've had in Star Wars in years and you come with this bullshit. Are you sharing out cinephile ID’s or you thik you fucking have one? Why can’t you shut the fuck up and enjoy and let others enjoy? They’re not going to make a movie or a show just for you. It doesn’t matter what they do, you’re always going to cry over it bc it’s not what you wanted. You never fail to do that. Stop fucking complaining for everything, you look like fucking assholes and make this fandom toxic for fucks sake.
