hello! my name is scottie! i am a 20 yr. old nb college student trying to write a fantasy series (among other minor projects!), looking for active writers to be mutuals and interact with (bonus if ur open to beta reading! or want a beta reader!) :D ask/tag open! i love talking to people, so don't be afraid to say hi :)

mya laine and the world of wonder (main)

magic school coming-of-age that turns into a dystopia. and there are lesbians EVERYWHERE. basically. it covers ten years of this girl's life where she's

also lesbians! contains time shenanigans and dragons. set in a world sort of exactly like the Modern Pre-Crown World in fionna and cake. i reference this because my main lady penny is a silly little history buff and decides to go on this expedition to find more information on a lost goddess, and ends up getting entangled with time. after a long, emotional trek that goes wrong more times than it goes right. penny somehow manages to get sent thousands of years in the future when the world has been ravaged by magic and godly power. and then she meets a girl who has a dragon and a dude that does everything she says, and more shit happens!

untitled crime story (now: unorthodox methods!)

i will not stop calling it untitled crime story!!! but i had to come up with a silly and catchy title because i chose this as a premise for the feature film script i'm writing for class. but untitled crime story i'll remember you

you guessed it.... lesbians.............. but they're exes with sooo much unspoken beef and they go off-grid together anyways so neither of them get put in prison ??? it's in a world where magic is normal and a bit frowned upon, now getting out of have because there's a global shortage of the one drug that suppresses magical powers. and this girl's ex calls her one night! the fun ex---she's supposed to be fun!! but she sounds super terrified and serious and chaos ensues! lesbians running from magical authorities and having to face their very long, very loud shared history.

Hi, I'm Katie! I'm a writer with two ongoing wips that I like yammering about, so ima do it here!

My wips are set in the same universe, on the planet of Illaros, fifth from the last star left living in the universe. There's a continent, some islands, and other assorted junk down there. The gods have a dyson ring, but they don't like to talk about it.

Honor's Outcasts follows a rag-tag group of delinquents trying to survive psycho pirates with family ties, a siren theocracy, magic that rots in your blood, and the Horrors. Their number includes such mighty heros as: a kid who can explode people with her mind, a buff shark lady who survives regular eldritch encounters by not paying attention, a mute aroace siren man with a bitchy attitude, and the world's sweetest gang mamber. Of course, they're one big family, and what's family without a little religious terrorism?

The Mystery of the Mortal God asks what happens when magic and science collide in a world where ethics panels haven't been established yet. Set a few decades down the line from HO, this story follows a cowboy witch with a chip on her shoulder as she discovers a mysterious robot laying broken and confused on the side of the road. At the same time, in a city on the other side of the globe, a blue blooded detective investigates a cold case suddenly gone hot. In time, all players will meet, including the mage who set this whole conundrum in motion.

The King's Spy:

Emeriel had been the King of Brill's spy for most of her life. However, after she is framed for the murder of her lover, the king, and his cunning advisor Arath Soor, rope her back into being a spy in order to let her prove her innocence. However , she gets caught between two nations on the verge of war instead of proving her innocence.

Also there are multiple cats involved. One of which is a religious figure.

Genre: Fantasy mystery

Faded Daisy:

Aster lost her childhood best friend in an occult ritual gone terribly wrong eleven years ago that she swears she had nothing to do with, and ever since, she has erased her past self and all traces of her connection to the ritual, and to her friend. However, the past can't be escaped so easily, and it turns out that the ritual didn't go so wrong after all...

• Main & Side Characters: Locke Ambrose, Caradoc Ambrose, Kailen Skaesun, Elwin Ambrose, Toke Ambrose (There’s more but those 5 are really the ones that need to be noted)

• Summary: In a world that was reborn after the events of Ragnorak, history seems to repeats itself as the King of Konunheim hears word from one of his trusted prophesiers that his son, Caradoc, will die by another’s hand by a simple arrow made from a harmless plant and if this were to occur the world may break out into another war and destroy itself. Assuming his last born, Locke, may be the killer due to his certain ways and dislike of his brother, he demands for his punishment and a way to keep Caradoc safe. While the other nine courts are splitting apart over the idea of a apocalyptic war, the two brothers now have to find a way for one of them to be pardoned and the other to not die while also preventing a war, and maybe even find out if Locke actually has intentions to kill his brother and follow through with prophecy or keep Caradoc safe…

Project Title: A Pocket Of Moons

A Victorian Gothic fairytale following the friendship between a painter and her muse, a werewolf. Their bond is put into jeopardy, however, when our werewolf is indoctrinated into a cult of others like him, led by a mysterious human, and he begins to lose his sanity. Think Wolfwalkers meets Midsommar but with the atmosphere of Frankenstein.

As of writing, I have one or two editing rounds until this is up for beta

Project Title: The Evening Rain's Applause

1930s noir horror. We follow the ghost of a disgraced orchestra violinist as he tries to discover the identity of the stranger who turned up his funeral. He is lead into a huge web of occult mysteries as he digs into a harrowing personal history he never knew he had.

This is still in the early stages, but I'm already deeply obsessed with it

Bad Things Happen - an apocalyptic horror novel. After a party, three young adults get into a particularly nasty car crash. It rips a small hole in the universe, and they begin to be plagued with identical strings of bad luck. Their luck gets worse and more expansive every day, and soon they're fighting to stop the world itself from decaying around them. [Status: draft zero.]

The Other Ones - a half-epistolary horror novel. A group of true crime podcasters go into the strange forest on the edge of town to investigate a disappearance from 2 years ago, only to emerge hours later--covered in blood, no memory of what happened, and accompanied by the missing girl. [Status: outlining.]

Suicide Ghosts - a film script about a trans boy who is sent to an all-girls school and makes friends with the ghost girl who haunts his dorm room. As the school year goes on, they discover corruption, more hauntings, and the horror of holding identities you never asked for. [Status: outlining.]

Untitled Fairytale WIP/"gfs" - YA fantasy series with dystopia undertones. If you've been around for awhile, you'll remember it as GFS/GFW1! A group of teenagers discover they're linked to an ancient prophecy that states they're cursed to awaken gods who have slept since the last divine war. If this happens, desolation is inevitable. They must find a way to avert the prophecy--while an unidentified figure is doing everything in their power to make it come true. [Status: rewriting/reworking.]

Hello!

So... I published a book and I guess that officially makes me an author! (Yay!)

BUT (and brace yourself, it's a big one) I've been confronted by the rude, insidious awakening of the fact that I have no readers. (Not-so-Yay...)

To be Francine, I am straight up not having a good time right now.

1 or 10,000 people have told me that to get readers, I have to put myself out there and the only place I feel comfortable doing that is Tumblr.

So here I am, returning to my roots. Coming to you with open arms and an open heart (please ignore my strange expression, I have resting cringe face; it's a product of my introverted nature, or rather a by-product of my hombodiness, which is also an unofficial side effect of the usual suspects, the pandemic and a dash of social media).

I’m glad you asked! My pen name, which I’m going to use for this blog, is Cam Scott

I’m 24, recently jumping back into writing after a whole slew of life stuff, and am looking to start grad school here in the next year or two!

Some of my interests include: comics, movies, folklore and folk music, philosophy, pro wrestling (the greatest form of theatre), and video games!

What do you write?

All kinds of stuff! Fantasy, sci-fi, mystery, westerns, even a comic or graphic novel from time to time. If only I could draw…

The only things you won’t catch me really writing are romances. Nothing against em, per se, but that’s not really my niche. A subplot? Sure! But not really my vibe for a complete work.

I also don’t really do fanfic, but again, no hate if you do! I think it’s cool to read people play around in those spaces; I just have to get all these voice- er, stories… out of my head.

Do you have any WIPs?

Too many! But I’ll try to list some of the main ones! (And keep it short)

The Silver Circle: The first in a fantasy series, it follows a group of adventurers making their way through a war-torn continent to help a cast-out prince reclaim his throne.

The Clockwork Lounge: A neon noir/cyberpunk-esque sci-fi story in which a man is hired to solve a murder in a casino run entirely by automatons.

Untitled Mystery (as in I came up with this yesterday lol): a man bounces back and forth between three bodies in three different time periods: the sailing age, the jazz age, and the far future in order to solve three murders that are somehow all connected.

Writer (Re)introduction 3.0 (2024)

Hello, Tumblr! After some time away to deal with my mental health (it is a marvel what medication and a change of atmosphere does to a person), I think I’ve gotten a more solid foundation for some of my ideas that I am so excited to share with you.

You have reached the page of Josias Luna (27, they/them). That is my new (and very much permanent) pen name, and you can call me Juno as well! Kind of still exploring, but if I can pinpoint something of me I would say I am transmasc nonbinary or genderqueer.

I am a college graduate with a degree in creative writing, and it’s safe to say writing has weaved in and out of my life. I write fantasy and science fiction as my genre focus (with a heavy lean of fantasy), and as far as tropes I love me some found family, the power of love (of all kinds), magic systems/powers and familial dynamics. Also going to be queer as fuck because life is too short to not have that.

THE WANDERING STARS // In the world of Kosmos, where life and magic are defined by the stars above, orphans Salima and Orazio end up forcibly separated when they are taken away from each other. Ten years later, their sudden reconnection gets swept into a tyrant’s plot when the stars begin to disappear. 

IRIDIAN FEATHERS // Pandora Graban enters Arcane Accordance Academy of the Arts with the goal of becoming the city of Basinmarrow’s Archmage and ultimately restoring the prestige of her family name. However, the woods that have long enclosed the town seem to carry secrets that may put those plans in jeopardy. 

TODAY, TOMORROW, FOREVER // In between planets who live with or reject the thousand year lifespans, Nadia Janvier hastily trades places of her best friend to be taken away to the crystalline continent of Spira when rumors stir of ‘The God of Cycles’ reawakening.

yes hi it's me again

hello I'm Vall, I was a member of the writeblr community for a while until for several reasons I stopped being active on here and just have been having the worst writer's block known to creature kind since. i'm an archeologist who is almost done with her masters and thanks to my best friend i decided to give this a go again (also check out her writblr as well please she's amazing @writingmargo) and hopefully now that I'm almost free of academic constraints I will also be free of the shackles of writer's block.

what do i write?

well mostly fantasy since it is by far my favorite genre but i have also dabbled in some sci-fi on the side, even had fanfiction as an appetizer but as it turns out those were dishes i wouldn't have anybody else taste so yeah usually fantasy with a lot of queer characters, magic and me doing the most to shoehorn dragons everywhere i can.

A CURSE MOST FOUL: Five stories. Some new, some old, some older. Tales of friendship and destruction, of family and revenge. And of pain, so much pain, and death and love amidst it all. Stories that have just begun and stories that have already come to an end but still live on. Let me tell you about a world filled with dangerous magic, terrible curses, talking dragons and sirens who bite, nobles turned pirates, farmers turned war heroes and ordinary people turned legends but at a price.

Update as of 7/4/24: I'll be lurking on tumblr every once in a while, but otherwise I don't know when I'll be properly active. Easter went... well, a spiked cement ball to the face would've been far more preferable.

Call me Aranea or Ara, a 22 yr old Aussie gal who is ever so slowly working on her novels. Not picky on what pronouns you use for me. I've been writing since I was 14, and been on and off tumblr just as long.

Have a part time job, volunteer at Vinnies, and working on a cert IV. Also practice witchcraft.

Current interests: Dragon Age, Dragons Dogma, Mass Effect, Skulduggery Pleasant, and Vampyr. I also play the Sims 4, so might even post some of my characters that way.

Favourite genres: Fantasy, horror, paranormal, science fiction, and historical.

Current Novel WIPs:

Monstrum (Which, yes, is loosely based on my fanfic under the same name) A God who never wanted to be a God, sea elves, sapphic dwarven Goddess, polyamory is pretty much the norm, cursed tome that exploded a temple, MC works out he's a transman... What more could you want? Oh wait, there's one more thing: son of God who died multiple times and came back wrong each time, is currently possessing MC's meant-to-be-dead mother! Oops.

Quondam

Takes place centuries before Monstrum, when The Maker was only a sorcerer who wanted a better world... and now deals with the consequences of taking over as Sovereign of the World. Surely she can change her world without destroying it?

Crash landing on a unknown planet, memories wiped... The A.I. with corrupted data, known as Thio, calls them Viator, but is that their name? Or a title? The only thing Viator knows is that they were thrown into a black hole... and now have a ship to fix, and to find civilisation.

Nobody Ends Up Dead in a Bathtub, Everyone Keeps Their Organs (or affectionately shortened to NEUD) is my baby. My favorite child. I love them more than the others.

NEUD is currently up on AO3, Tumblr, and Patreon for free. Bonus short stories featuring the cast are available on Patreon under the paid member tier.

A New York office worker and a sex worker get set up on a date–one thinking it’s a real blind date, the other under the impression it’s an ordinary appointment. After realizing it was all a shitty prank, they set out for revenge. Their plan: show up to an upcoming Halloween office party as a genuine couple, convincing the pranksters they genuinely fell in love and refusing to let themselves become the butt of the joke.

The Fairest of All Stars is currently being posted on AO3, Tumblr, and Patreon. It's a sapphic fantasy! My only fantasy story I've ever tried writing. It's very self-indulgent.

Patreon members are five chapters ahead of what's on AO3 and Tumblr.

Andy didn’t mean to become a pirate captain, but after killing the captain of her ship, she finds herself thrust into the role. Years after the incident, she is fierce and feared and recovering from a tropical fever that wiped out half her crew. Just as they’re about to dock, they find an injured siren left behind by her choir. Andy, drawn to her, pulls her onto the ship and decides to keep her there until she recovers. But with the Navy hunting for both pirates and sirens, Andy has just made her ship an even bigger target for an iniquitous captain looking for revenge.

On a Few Terms and Conditions is a WIP still very much in its infancy. The summary thus far:

Youngest child of a prominent, political family, Miles was once hailed a boy genius. Valedictorian of his private high school, full ride to study politics in D.C., promising career ahead of him. But by junior year of college he has a major issue: he’s on academic probation. To keep it a secret from his parents and the public eye, he has to secretly find a tutor to get caught up over the summer in order to graduate on time. The solution: Liam, the youngest of another political family who may or may not hate Miles. Throw in some political drama, Miles’ bad habits catching up to him, a little romance, and they’re all in for an interesting summer.

Angel is a project I've been working and re-working over and over again. I'm very, very passionate about it, but the plot is all over the place. There are a few WIP posts up on Tumblr.

Angel is the youngest member of boy group, NXT. For four years, he's followed every expectation his company has set for him. Diets, dating bans, media training. But after a string of bad publicity and a drinking habit he can't shake, he's gotten a new reputation of being a rebellious bad boy. While NXT is on a summer break, he's told to shape up and get ready for a side solo career that's been perfectly packaged for him. At first, it looks like everything might be okay despite the mounting pressure. And then he meets an indie artist, Eisle. Eisle grows his hair long, paints his nails, kisses boys, and doesn't listen to anyone. And it's all very confusing for Angel who's just trying to keep up with the image his company made for him when he was 15.
