Feyre betrayed Nesta in the worst way...

It's a common stance that many people, regardless of if they love or hate Nesta/Rhys/the IC, seem to have, but I don't think it is. Was Nesta complacent in keeping it from her since she found out? Yes. Was that wrong of her? Yes again. Was blurting it out the way that she did also not ideal, to put it mildly? Absolutely yes. But was it out of malice? No.

And Nesta didn't care. Couldn't think around the roaring. 'Have any of them told you, their respected High lady, that the babe in your womb will kill you?' Amren barked, 'Shut your mouth!' But her order was confirmation enough. Face paling, Feyre whispered again, 'What do you mean?' 'The wings,' Nesta seethed. 'The boy's Illyrian wings will get stuck in your Fae body during the labour, and it will kill you both.'

The idea that this was all said in malice just never sat right to me, and after scrolling through some comments on a video discussing the matter, the pieces finally clicked into place. First, let's talk about the hike, though.

Her breakdown after that hike wasn't a moment of catharsis and letting walls down. It was a weeks worth of exhaustion, dehydration and depression that resulted in Nesta giving in to the torture she was put through just to end it. It was a pivotal moment in the IC's efforts to break and then reconstruct her to their liking, or rather, to Feyre's liking. However, a vital stepping stone in reaching this point would be for them to gaslight and isolate her until she truly had no one. I mentioned before that I didn't think anyone in the NC would chose Nesta, and this is an example of why I believe that.

Nesta snarled, but Feyre stepped between them, hands raised. 'This conversation ends now. Nesta, go back to the House. Amren, you...' She hesitated, as if considering the wisdom of ordering Amren around. Feyre finished carefully, 'You stay here.'

Nesta is clearly upset and hurting and Feyre disregards that entierly, not even offering to discuss or find out why Nesta is hurt or feeling the way she is. Feyre didn't bother to try and understand Nesta before and she isn't bothering now. Either Feyre assumes she knows what Nesta is thinking/ feeling, or she just doesn't care. She dismisses her, telling her to go back to her prison, disregarding Nesta's choices, autonomy and opinions again.

If I recall right, it was Amren who informed Nesta that she was free to go where she wanted if she made it down the ten thousand steps. Feyre wouldn't order Amren, even to stand up for her sister, but happily go against Amren's own words to punish Nesta? Hypocrisy at it's finest.

All of this leads to one outcome: Nesta feeling trapped. Cornered and without a single ally in the whorld who would defend her properly. Isolated from anyone who'd be willing to treat her with decency, while believing she doesn't even deserve the basics of kindness. It leaves Nesta more prone to actually going through with committing suicide, since the behaviour of these people, mixed with her own self hatred, sets a precedent for how Nesta believe she'd be treated.

We see this when Nesta first meets Emerie, thinking to herself that 'the invitations would stop' when Emerie learned what nesta was really like. Or at least what Nesta perceived herself to be like.

Even though Nesta has Emerie and Gwyn, she has no reason to think, based on what brainwashing the IC has already done coupled with her self deprecating mindset, that they wouldn't side with the IC. This isn't to say Emerie and Gwyn are like the IC by any means. I think they're great friends to Nesta, and if that changes or not later on is more so up to SJM and her writing, rather than their characterisation. It's the reality that the IC have created for Nesta through abuse, gaslighting and borderline torture that's wound up feeding in to Nesta's already existing trauma and self worth that has lead to her becoming isolated this way.

And Nesta didn't care. Couldn't think around the roaring. 'Have any of them told you, their respected High lady, that the babe in your womb will kill you?'

The comment on the video I saw explained that, while Nesta was angry when saying this, she wasn't trying to hurt Feyre or take her anger out on anyone. Nesta was angry because she wasn't told that she made a new trove. She was angry that these people had the audacity to vote on her life, and take bodily autonomy from her. She was angry that Feyre wasn't acknowledging or even trying to understand how Nesta was feeling. She was angry that she was treated like the bad guy- or more like a petulant child in this scene, I suppose- and had her feelings dismissed again.

Dismissed the way her mother/grandmother used to when she was trained. The way her father did when he refused to hunt. The way the Mortal Queens did when Nesta merely asked them to save her people. The way Feyre did when she asked for Nesta's help again, and again, and again during the war, only for it to never be enough in the eyes of other. The way that Elain did when she got upset at Nesta time and time again for how she handled her trauma or how she wasn't over her trauma or how Nesta tried to protect her. The way Cassian dismissed her feelings when he got mad at her for having an opinion of Rhysand.

Nesta was angry. She had every right to be angry. Most people would be angry, and alone, and if they already had suicidal thoughts like Nesta, having been abandoned by everybody while gaslit into thinking it was fine, and then only called upon to be used for the benefit of others while the snickered behind her back and dismissed her again.

As the commenter put it; She was trying to find someone who would relate to her anger. Nesta wanted an ally, someone who wouldn't leave her alone. Someone to be by her side and, perhaps subconsciously, thought that Feyre, who'd hunted for them and helped look after them for years, would chose Nesta's side.

The parallels between Nesta and Feyre's situation here are clear, and I think Nesta understood that when she said what she said. I think that Feyre believing Nesta said it to hurt her was a gross misunderstanding on her part, but it's not like she ever asked Nesta how she felt. Now that I think about it, for all that Feyre talks about Nesta feeling too much, and taking everything to heart, she never once confirms with Nesta. Never asks how Nesta feels.

Since coming to the Night Court, Nesta's feelings and traumas have been twisted and spoken about only in relation to how Feyre feels.

'Do you know how embarrassed I was when we got the bill this morning and my friends-my family- had to hear all about it?'

The intervention began, not because of Nesta doing something to risk hurting herself, but because Feyre was embarrassed and started crying into her breakfast.

'All of it pains me… It pains me that Nesta has become… this. It pains me that she and Feyre are always at each other’s throats. It pains me that Feyre hurts over it, and I know Nesta does, too.'

Cassian is pained, not because Nesta is suffering so greatly that she isolated herself for her own sisters (who didn't really act like sisters between the end of ACOWAR to... well now, so it's understandable), or because Nesta felt her only reprieve from her pain was in sex and alcohol, but because Feyre hurts over it. He knows Nesta does (but he doesn't know she hates fire? Or is uncomfortable at their social gatherings, since in ACOFS he somehow hoped she wouldn't take the bribe money and say she enjoyed their solstice party??? Because...Why?) But, of course, it's Feyre's feelings on the matter that are prioritised.

'Nesta is Nesta. She does what she wants, even if it kills her sister.'

Rhysand, not that I expect much from him, honestly, is utpse, not because he can't find a way to help Nesta. Not because his court is actively cruel to Nesta, hell, he joins in. Not because Nesta is in pain, in no small part because of him and his court. Not even because Nesta is spending his money. Because she's upsetting Feyre. Because, god forbid, Nesta have trauma and handle it in a way that doesn't make his wife happy.

Feyre tells others how she thinks Nesta feels, the others go with it, or just come to their own conclusions, not sure which is worse, but nobody stops to consider how she feels. Feyre feeling like Nesta said it to hurt her, I think, is simply proof that she doesn't understand Nesta.

Let me ask you, if you found out you were lied to in a way that affects your ability to make informed decisions regarding your own body, by someone you were supposed to trust, and who should've had your back, and that your own sibling has been betrayed by the same people in a very similar, if not identical way, and yet you're the one being turned into the bad guy, and dismissed, would that not make you feel isolated and frustrated?

It's understandable that Nesta tried, either consciously or subconsciously, feel less alone by appealing to common ground to find an ally. Nesta mentions at the end of ACOSF that she believes Feyre loved her from the start, and after those years in the cabin, I think Nesta sees Feyre as someone reliable.

This scene doesn't feels like Nesta trying to hurt Feyre. It feels like Nesta trying to reach out to the one person she could rely on; Feyre. Her mother was abusive, her father was a deadbeat, Elain was her ward, and the IC hate her.

'Nesta studied me for a long moment. And then she said with equal quiet, though we could all hear, “I can’t get into a bathtub, anymore. I have to use buckets.” I hadn’t known—hadn’t even thought that bathing, submerging water…'

Amren tells Cassian to keep reaching out his hand, even though Nesta has reached out her own time and time again. Esspecially to Feyre, as she was the one Nesta relied on before. Possibly even the only person Nesta has ever relied on, and Fyre was the one she was trying to rely on now.

Nesta relied on Feyre, and needed to rely on her again. To have strength together, in a situation where they both lost their choices and autonomy to Rhysand and his (cause don't pretend it's even slightly Feyre's) IC.

It may have been wrong to say it in that way, at that time, under those circumstances, but this, to me, feels like Nesta's way of reaching out her own hand only to be misunderstood, punished, and dismissed again. And again. And again.

In a way, I think Feyre might have, unintentionally, betrayed Nesta in a worse way than Elain ever has. Elain was a ward. Almost like a child, to Nesta. They were never on equal footing. Moreover, Nesta was never punished if she upset Elain, no that she should be, or if Elain misunderstood her. Nesta never relied on Elain the way she relied on Feyre. She never trusted or had faith in Elain, the way she clearly trusted Feyre. She had thought she'd found an ally, with similar pain, in Feyre, in the moments she spilled the secret, but Feyre didn't care.

When I was reading the scene where Cassian told Feyre his idea to take Nesta on a punishment hike, she sounded all too gleeful when telling him how miserable Nesta would be. That, in my opinion, is the worst betrayal of all.

2x4 Filmmaking Analysis

Breakdown of the 'love confession" scene in "Fun and Games."

This scene means so much to me and I've avoided breaking it down for a while, but it's time! Be still, my heart.

The set and lighting is soft and romantic. They are surrounded by neutral colors: browns, reds, and yellows, which also match their clothing. The blanket Ed hides under is cream with only hints of dark grey/black, reflecting the light and love Stede is about to surround him with.

The scene starts with Ed lying down, the large room behind him. He is curled toward the back of the couch, and just like the pillow fort and tub, this shuts out the world, offering a cocoon of comfort.

Stede walks into the room but he doesn't remain standing, above Ed. He sits down to be level with him, facing him but on the table, because he isn't trying to invade his space.

They stay in this two shot, showing that this is about them, as Stede softly speaks to Ed. Ed doesn't come out of the blanket until he starts to tell his opinion "fair!?" And he sits up further as he evens out the conversation. He rises completely, and his voice is the loudest as he yells at Stede about "it was supposed to hurt."

Stede diffuses the situation with a quiet "alright," which immediately quiets Ed, and he turns his body to plant his feet on the floor.

Stede isn't afraid to call Ed out/correct assumptions. First with the head butt and then the whim comment. It puts them on equal footing at this point (literally and figuratively) and their clothes also reflect this. Ed's top half is his black leathers, with the light tan blanket while Stede is wearing a tan shirt and dark pants.

A small candle is lit between them in the background. Lights have been used in both seasons to represent them finding each other, being the light for each other in the darkness.

Stede doesn't move over to sit next to Ed until this equal footing. He has been waiting months to tell Ed the truth, to tell him how he feels. And he doesn't hesitate here. Sitting next to Ed, turned toward him, but not touching, not invading his space. Just like MerStede, real life Stede never invades Ed's space, tries to persuade him with touch, or does anything without his consent.

The nice part of this conversation is that it doesn't come across as rehearsed. He starts to tell his side of the story and bounces off the whim-prone comment from Ed. And Ed responds about being "all in." He stays facing forward, not yet looking at Stede since he sat down next to Ed.

Ed turns slightly to Stede when the comment of the beard comes up. This is once again a miscommunication between them. Ed thinks shaving off the beard represents Stede not liking Ed for Ed, but rather for Blackbeard. But Stede corrects him, saying he likes his chin and beard at any length. AKA, he likes Ed for Ed, not for Blackbeard. This is the point when Ed starts to soften and look toward Stede.

The small candle between them appears closer in the shots with Ed in the foreground and Stede in the background. It often "touches" Ed's face, and shines bright like Stede's love for Ed right now.

The scene then takes a turn for the romantic as the song Träumerei starts to play. Ed cuts off Stede after "I love" because he isn't ready to hear I love you yet from him. But he still turns his head to look at Stede.

Stede immediately stops talking and reconsiders what he wants to say. He only proclaims "I love everything about you," once Ed turns and looks at him again, giving a silent continue. And he tells Ed "you don't have to say it back to me." He knows Ed isn't ready for that. And he isn't asking for that.

Ed responds with "I'm not about to" but immediately turns toward Stede, and not in a challenging way like I dare you to get mad, but a soft one that is accessing. Stede responds by looking down, once again considering his words. When he looks up, Ed turns his head and looks at him, so Stede continues his praises. "I love being near you. It's nice. Feels good. Breathing the same air."

Ed doesn't turn away the entire time Stede makes his speech, letting the words sink in, and after, he fully makes eye contact with Stede, smiling at him for the first time since they reunited.

This moment isn't about the both of them professing their love for each other, but it is about them talking, getting on equal footing again, and more importantly Stede being able to tell Ed he loves him. Stede is the one who left, and he is finally getting the chance to explain, to tell Ed how he feels about him.

Ed, on the other hand, gets to hear those words. Learns that it isn't just the Blackbeard persona Stede fell in love with, but rather "I love your chin, naked or otherwise."

This is a wonderful first step to them reconciling. They express so much not only in words, but in body language. Each time Ed turns and looks at Stede, he's giving him consent to keep talking, and Stede responds to this, only talking when given permission. They are attune to each other's every movement.

This whole scene is soft and intimate. There aren't any fancy camera movements. They start with both in frame, cut to single shots while they lightly disagree, and the rest of the scene cuts between two medium shots with both in frame, showing the positive progression of their stance together. The shots are also static since they are on land and don't have to worry about the movement of the ocean.

The quietness of the scene adds to the romance: only their song, the clocks ticking, and their voices can be heard. The softness of Stede's voice draws you in, makes you want to hear everything he wants to say, and just like Ed, the audience is hanging off of every word.

I love this scene and the filmmaking and acting, all parts of production make it the perfect unconventional yet character appropriate love confession.

Previous part- Masterlist - First part

Jungkook holds Tae up underneath the warm spray of water. The glass is foggy in places and clear and others, occasional spots of red water joining the constellation of them. Resting against Jungkook's chest, her body is prone and almost lifeless. Eyes vacant and glassy. So shaky and tired as her body rockets down from its adrenaline high. A drop so abrupt that she could hardly hold herself up. A drop so terrifying that Jungkook must do it for her.

He doesn't mind, none of him minds as he cradles the back of her head oh so gently. Tae flinches, weather from pain or the sudden movement. Jungkook meets Jimin's eyes through the foggy glass and then yours. biting his lower lip before Jimin nods and he keeps going.

Evidence is evidence and washing off can’t wait.

Jimin has joined you upstairs with the body already packed away and on its way to being buried under the foundation of the house. Jimin watches on from outside the shower as he instructs Jungkook in a quiet voice on how to clean Tae of evidence properly. He's been quiet since then. Staring at them while Tae stares blankly back. Namjoon sat you on the toilet to tend to your hands and the gash on your forehead.

You watch them them from where you sit- mostly you just watch tae. When his body doesn’t block your view.

Your wounds are in that awkward place of not being deep enough for stitches but still a little too deep to not need something. After a brief debate, Namjoon seals them with a bit of non-surgical glue that stung terribly and then regular gauze over the top.

Your hands are swelling and clotting. Scabbing although trying to touch anything is too painful. Closing your fingers at all hurts. Namjoon holds you so lightly it hardly feels like he's holding you at all.

The gash on your forehead gets two little sutures, Namjoon apologizes after every wince.

He tosses his sutures kit into the bathroom sink the second he’s done. Namjoon gets on his knees before you. The plastic that covers the whole bathroom crackling as he does. Jimin had the great idea to cover the bathroom with sheets of plastic, to cut down on the cleanup.

"It's going to scar," Namjoon says, a little sadly. thumb skimming over the mark.

You swallow hard. You still taste blood. You want to brush your teeth, You want to shut the lights off and go to sleep. You want noodle and you want Yoongi you want everything from the past few hours- the past few years to be gone and over with- You want-

You want to snap at him that it doesn't matter that it will scar. That you're covered with scars already and you don't care but-

Namjoon kisses your forehead. a lingering brush.

You look over at Tae and her eyes flicker blankly to you. Jungkook keeps bringing the boar bristle brush up and down her back in soothing little circles.

When you turn back to Namjoon he's pursing his lips and blinking away tears as he looks down at your hands. You resist the urge to say you’re sorry, You’re not sure what for. the terrible feral hunger in you gone as quick as it's come.

Namjoon’s fingers wrap around the hollow of your knees, and you meet his eyes, even though you don’t want too- even though it feels too much like a confession already.

“I’m going to say this now, before you get any ideas; This is not your fault and I am not mad at you and Tae for doing what you did-”

“Namjoon-”

He continues on, words rushing out, “I’m proud of you pup, so proud. I’m sorry that I wasn’t here- I promise I won’t disappoint you again as pack-“ You cover his mouth with your hand, gauze and all.

The center section is already turning bloody. Although that’s hard to tell if it’s just because you’re still covered in it. You’re the last one to shower. The last one to get clean. Namjoon shouldn’t be touching you at all.

And yet he does, yet he cradles your face, brushes the tears from your cheeks, gets blood on his hands. Evidence is evidence, but love has a steeper sort of price if you don't express it when you can.

When you take your hand away, Namjoon doesn’t try to speak again. someone says something that you don't hear, that you can't hear.

When Namjoon stands and you look up, Jungkook has the shower door open for you.

Writing a Child Who was Raised to be a Weapon

tw just for abuse, eating disorders, and the like mentioned below

NOW. This is one of my favorite archetypes used in modern media, if you couldn’t tell by my batfamily oc insert (little mister was-only-kept-alive-to-destroy-bruce-wayne. hi there, bentley, love you!)

While this is a very compelling and interesting type of character to create and flesh out, it’s easy to brush over some of the inner dialogue and thought patterns these children would have, because most people irl don’t have them. (Unless you were raised as a super assassin, in which case, please don’t kill me, and I love you)

The bottom line is, the characters entire personality and dynamic with other people relies on what background you give them. And that’s where I come in! Hi, I’m maccreadysbaby, and I’m going to propose some of the routes you can take in writing these cute little (deadly) guys!

COMMUNICATION ↴

none of these children are going to communicate normally, because they aren’t normal. they weren’t raised with a family, or good support system. they might:

be terrified of others. slow to trust. especially if you’re writing a child who was abused when they failed. for example, my oc, bentley, was horrified to be in proximity with any of bruce wayne’s family because he was afraid they would hurt him like his father did. he was afraid to cry in front of them, afraid to admit he was tired or sick or scared, afraid to ask for help, afraid to speak first, because it was all things he’d gotten punished for before. they might also have a terrible relationship with failure, because failure brings pain, and could potentially crumble if they fail or think they’re going to fail whatever they’re doing. (a mission, an assassination, or simple things like a school test or a task someone asked them to complete.) maybe they’re really good at holding it together and pretending they aren’t scared, but after all, they’re just kids. the cracks in their mask are gonna show one way or another.

shut people out. this could be from fear, or from being taught relationships are bad and makes them weak and vulnerable. they might not communicate because they don’t want to have another potential weak spot. they might keep their distance, stay quiet, not come out often. they might come across as cold and heartless, but it’s really them just trying to protect themselves, be it from pain, from the idea of eventual heartbreak, etc. but there is a problem with shutting people out, and it’s that they’re also shutting themselves in, like a prison. kids who choose to shut people out and bottle up everything they feel are slightly more prone to emotional outbursts and breakdowns. especially if they’re fairly young.

learn different ways to communicate, such as sign language, their actions, body language, etc. they won’t do it like everybody else and that’s okay! you can take so many liberties with this. maybe they make origami swans and leave them on the nightstands of people they decide they like. maybe they highlight lines in books and leave them places to tell someone how they feel. maybe they’re an absolute little jerkhole that’s mean to everyone because they weren’t taught how to do it any differently. maybe they’re insanely submissive people-pleasers that do everything asked of them because they were created to take orders. the possibilities are endless. go on an adventure!

be overly trusting. you typically see this in characters on the younger end of the spectrum, but you can drag it up into teenagers, too. a child that’s been abused or suppressed in any way, physically, emotionally, or mentally might decide they wholeheartedly trust the first person who is nice to them, who doesn’t cause them pain. there might even be a little bit of lag time between the meeting and the kindness and the trusting, but when it comes, it comes full force to the face. they’d trust these people to protect their lives and might even cling to them, or run to them as an escape from whoever raised them. (assuming they are afraid of the people who raised them.) they might even allow themselves to open up and become more than just a human weapon in the presence of these lucky folks.

believe that they’re superior to everyone else. obviously they are a higher class, a finer type of person. they can kill in seconds, they’re a master at martial arts, they can have an adult wrapped around their finger within the first minute of meeting them, they can make a person cave with a single sentence, they’re just better. better than all these civilians who let their emotions get in the way, who let other people walk all over them and boss them around. they’re too good for that. this is also a great one to add in some angst. arrogance and pride are often founded on the feelings of uselessness, worthlessness, or that they can’t (or don’t deserve to) be loved. it’s like a defense mechanism. no one likes me — obviously it’s because of my blindingly obvious superiority. they’re so much better that they don’t need love, kindness, care. (but yes, they actually do. they’ll probably break down crying or throw someone across the room the moment it’s given because it opens their eyes to the fact that they’re literally freaking starving for it like they haven’t eaten in their entire lives. my GOD give these kids a hug.)

FOOD ↴

i know this seems random, but it’s something you need to know about your character because it heavily impacts their mental state, mannerisms, energy, and health. chances are being raised as a weapon, they won’t have a stable relationship with food or eating. here are some examples of how you could make them!

refusing to eat. if your child character has had bad experiences in the past regarding food, such as someone using food to manipulate them (if you don’t do this you don’t get food.), torture them (purposefully feeding them something that makes them sick or have an allergic reaction, even poisoned food.), or if there are bad memories tied to eating (always getting fed before terrible missions, or before days locked somewhere, torture sessions, punishments, etc.) your child may not want to eat at all. after all, these are still just kids and they’re going to try and avoid everything that can trigger negative feelings, memories, or circumstances. if food is one of them, your other characters are probably going to have to help reassure them that they can eat and need to (if they’re in the presence of nice characters.) if you’re wanting to go a more severe route, you can even write them getting diagnosed with anorexia (an eating disorder that heavily involves not eating at all.) but of course, you don’t have to. (i didn’t.) just remember, they are growing kids and are going to be hungry whether they like it or not. but they will try to hide it if hunger has been used against them, which is a good point for hurt/comfort writing, since hunger can cause anything as small and embarrassing as their stomach growling loudly in front of everybody to severe stomach cramps (like your organs being tied in a terribly tight knot), vomiting, and fainting. all things considered, you can take a more severe route, or just write about them working with the help of friends to get up to a better food intake level and higher weight.

struggling to eat. if your child has not been fed properly for most or all of their lives, and then are put into a homelife where they have food at their disposal, they still might struggle with it. (for example, my character, bentley, was severely starved by his father for the first ten years of his life and when he gets put into a new home, he struggles to eat much at all and sometimes feels sick when he eats ‘too much’, even though he should be eating more in general.) of course, this comes with a host of complications and all the symptoms that come with malnutrition, not to mention that they won’t even be close to the size they’re supposed to be. (bentley was the size of a 6-7 year old at the ages of 9&10.) this is similar to the last bullet point in the sense that you can go the more serious anorexia route, or the kind people helping them stay on track route

over-eating. this one is more common for youngsters who didn’t have access to food most of their lives, but it wasn’t used against them or withheld from them by another person. (a good example would be a child trained in an area where people routinely don’t have access to food.) this is highly derived from food insecurity, where they think they have to eat everything they’re given because they don’t know when they’ll eat next. (this can also be used for characters in the bullet point above.) this also can cause health issues and routine sickness. (for example, my character, asten (11yrs), who lived in a poverty stricken part of his city and barely ate outside of school, routinely eats himself sick when he has access to food because he’s been starving without it.) this food insecurity can also lead to extreme emetophobia (fear of vomiting) because they don’t want to lose what they do have in them, which can pose a massive problem when this child is either so empty or so full that they need to throw up. so, if they’re put into a household where they have access to food, it might be a constant stream of stomach aches and nights spent in the bathroom while the person helps reassure them that they will always have food and they don’t have to eat it all now. (sorry this is gross but it needs to be said.)

here is a drabble that i wrote recently involving a malnourished child due to poverty, with his internal dialogue and thought processes, if that will help any of you.

ANXIETY / PTSD ↴

oh boy. these kids will have it, given how they’ve been raised. the question is in how they treat it and deal with it.

hiding it. maybe they were trained to see fear and anxiousness as weakness. the flinch when someone moves too fast, the tightness in their chest at a certain noise, the inability to breathe if they see someone’s face, they’re going to hide it because their fine and they’re tough. no one has to know that they have nightmares every night and cry when they’re alone. you can even extend this into anxiety/asthma/panic attacks that they keep hidden. (typically by leaving social settings when they feel it coming on.) no one has to know that they’re so weak. they might lash out in anger or irritation if they’re routinely asked if they’re okay because they need these people to back off before they fall apart in front of them. they might have little mannerisms that other people might notice for calming or showing anxiety, like biting their nails, bouncing their leg, pinching themselves, quietly doing breathing exercises, etc. PTSD will come more like nightmares and anxiety attacks and flashbacks, and they can’t always hide those no matter how much they want to. the severity of anxiety and PTSD depends on how graphic you make their backstory. (for example, my character, bentley, has nightmares of being abused, which he breaks down crying after. in his instances, he’s never alone. similarly, he once started crying when he saw christmas decorations similar to those his abuser used to have, and he has his first anxiety attack when he sees his abuser in public) you can keep the character secretive about it or let them have a big old breakdown in front of someone else, your choice.

not hiding it at all. if they’re with someone they trust, they might just let loose. (that’s what happened to bentley once he learned his new family didn’t care if he looked weak and wanted to help him) they might tell someone when they’re feeling scared or anxious or bad in any way. they might just cry right in front of them when they have to and have attacks with someone close and all the things because they’re not alone anymore and these people want to help. it might take a while for them to get to this point, and no one blames them. (for example, bentley was really anxious for school so he went to his new guardians room in the middle of the night) and remember, any steps these kiddos take closer to asking for help is HUGE! make sure your other characters encourage them and let them know they’re proud for reaching out :)

keep in mind that if they’ve never been talked to about it, they might have no freaking clue what’s going on if they have an attack of some sort, and will probably need someone to explain to them what’s going on and that they aren't going to die.

Now calling....Warnings: "Drinking, drunk Reggie has a lot of mood swings, is more emotional and expressive than regular Reggie, Walburga as a whole, abusive relationship with parents...usual marauder's era shit. reader plays quidditch and is a seeker and is a Slytherin. There is a secret room in the tower of Slytherin which Slytherins use for partying...This is horrible, leave me alone"

Regulus had quite a few nerves which can easily be ticked off with even a action or a word..And you supposedly had a talent of easily doing it as if taking in a breath would annoy him.

Supposedly it started with quidditch, how you were called a better Seeker than him and it pissed him off...Not like you ever did hurt him personally, but something seemed to just tick him the wrong way when you were around; he was not only easily angered, but also prone to more accidents, stuttering, zoning out, face turning red like he was having a heart attack, etc.

He's still quite a sight in your eyes, with his pale skin, pretty hair, gorgeous kissable lips, gorgeous smile which come out when he's happy and he shines brighter than the sun..I mean, he could show beauty in things there isn't even any beauty present and that was on thing you liked about him, no matter how much you pretended not to.

Sighing, you softly walked up the Slytherin tower to the higher, grand room, or "the party room" as all the Slytherins refer to it as, mostly it's empty leaving the quidditch days where they party for no reason, even if they win or lose, does not matter a party would be there at times.. And if not, it was usually a relaxing place or a place for manual breakdowns and it had a plague outside which told you if it's occupied or not..

Honestly you hoped it wouldn't be occupied, but just your luck as the plague said "Occupied: Regulus Arcturus Black" as you internally groaned, leaning against the door and sliding down as you lit a cigarette and sighed taking a drag, as you sighed, hearing a lot of screaming, you looked at it in slight worry, was Regulus fighting with someone...But you ignored it, sitting outside, you already weren't on good terms, don't wanna make that worse..

You sat there for a while or for how long you had no idea, but you did finishing around three cigarettes before you sighed and stood up, just what the hell was this idiot doing?! I mean, you literally finished multiple cigarettes, you sighed before knocking on the door, hearing no response you banged loudly,

"Oi! Regulus, you bastard, open this damn door!" you called out in as you heard a soft thud afterwards, but the door didn't open, groaning you pulled your wand, placing it at the knob, "Alohomora." you muttered, as the door shifted open with a soft creek.

Pushing it open, you saw the sight of the ark scene with Regulus laying on the floor surrounded by a few bottles of firewhiskey and a three to four glasses, indicating he wasn't the only here before, others were too, but considering the brains in his group, you figured they already learned to apparate and were out of here.. and on the table beside his head was a the chars of a letter

Seeing you, Regulus piped up as a bright smile came on his face, "Oh my god! Hi!!!" he said usually brightly and sweetly and nicely making you cringe a bit as you confusedly waved, "Hi?" you said as he scrambled up and stumbled towards you, reeking of alcohol, sighing you helped him and laid him down in the bed the place had provided, using your wand to shut the door and locking it,

"Ugh, you stink, dammit." you grumbled, sitting him down as he simply stared at you, mesmerized, "What?!" You asked a bit too roughly, possibly from the annoyance of waiting so long and having him drunk, the whole place reeked and it wasn't fun, whatever it was, apparently you were TOO mean....as suddenly tears began to fill his eyes as he turned over, crossing his arms and huffing softly, "Fucking cunt." he grumbled making you stare at his angrily crying stature in disbelief.

Sighing, you put a hand on his shoulder which he swatted, "Oh my god, okay, I'm sorry!" you said huffing yourself as you seated yourself on a bean bag across from him as he stared at you with tears and arms crossed, cheeks slightly puffed out and red and an angry pout on his lips, it was cute enough to make you kiss it away..but forget those thought! He's your enemy!!

"You fucking cunt, how dare you be better than me?!" he asked pushing your shoulder softly, making you stare at him in disbelief as you relaxed yourself across the somewhat large bean bag and continued to tap your wand on your head,

"because of you, my mother sent me a howler, yelling at me! Even Bellatrix tried to curse me...How dare you be better than me, e a good seeker, have people think of you as better and still be attractive enough for me to makeout with you in the hallways the moment I see you so those idiotic bitches can know to stay away from you, fuck you!" he ranted, huffing and turning away, crossing his arms as you stared at him appalled shock, what....?!

You stared at him before sighing softly, fixing your position to sit sincerely and a bit softly staring ta him, anger softly washing away at his druken self, "..Okay, okay, sorry... Are you saying you're mad at me and in love with me?" you asked in confusion as he nodded,

"Yes, cunt.", "Okay.... :)"

you said giving him a bread smile as he continued to huff and look away, sighing you figured you'd have to make hiim smile again and do something, "Hey, now! Don't get mad...I like you too." you said sighing as he still continued to grumble, but simply stood up and shifted to sit in your lap his arms still crossed and still looking away as you grinned and poked his waist, "hey, you're gonna crush me.", "I don't care, handle it." he hummed simply, sighing as you softly thought of the last thing to make him stop being hissy and angry.

Softly you held his face in a hand, squeezing his cheeks as you kissed and suddenly his tense and stiff manner became more affectionate in a matter of seconds as his hands roamed up your chest and neck before tangling themselves in your hair at your nape, pulling you to press his lips more to your lips, your hands softly holding his waist and squeezing with a grin, guess he did stop being hissy and mad :>

jj let me literally cry on his shoulder last night, and this morning he brought me (i drove, but that’s besides the point cause he initiated it) on an impromptu shopping spree!! some old hag looking bitch at work screamed at me for something that was entirely out of my control and made me cry about seventeen minutes into my eight hour shift yesterday, and twin mode was very activated in him.

he even bought us those dazzling glasses and posed for my photo, AND he stood outside the dressing rooms while i tried clothes on and gave me very crucial information on wether or not i should buy things (one nod for yes, a look of complete disgust for meh, and a dumbass smile for ‘this looks great but i refuse to say it even though we are biologically the same and look almost identical’)

Happy “Tetchou got 2-3 seconds of screen time” day!!

Anyway Jouno has ADHD and heres a longass rant on why I think that

(Obviously this is a headcanon but hear me out!!!!!)

Almost every time we see Jouno he is always doing something with his hands wether this be gesturing, holding something, or fidgeting with an object (example: when he was peeling a pear in Kunikida’s cell thing) and in the same scene we also see Jouno apparently unable to sit still in his seat in the manga due to him repeatedly crossing and uncrossing his legs in his chair

Another reason I think this is because of possible time blindness. When we first see Jouno show up to the Hunting Dogs group thing where they smash into the ground, Fukuchi comments on Jouno arriving before him. This is because he had to go arrest Dazai so obviously he’s “here” in Yokohama early, but also this kind of makes me think he was just standing there waiting for a while. I’m likely reading too deep into it, but Fukuchi probably wouldn’t say that Jouno had gotten here before him when he knew that’d clearly be the case. In my mind it reads as Jouno arrived at the meeting spot early. How Fukuchi would know this? No clue! But also he’s Fukuchi so he probably knows everything.

Another reason I have would be RSD (Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria)

This one is definitely reaching a little bit but bare with me.

I think Jouno experiences RSD, not in the way of “oh I hate myself I messed up on something” but instead in the way of “shut the fuck up you dont know what youre talking about dont criticize me.” Which is honestly how I experience it sometimes as well LMAO but he does seem very focused on the fact of personally being the best Hunting Dog and appears to take quite a bit of offense whenever Tetchou reprimands him for his behaviour.

Last reason I can squeeze out before my brain turns into goo is overstimulation. Jouno is known very heavily for his heightened senses and people with ADHD are very prone to overstimulation. It would make a lot of sense for something like this to happen to Jouno. Obviously he wouldn’t be able to openly show this at work or have a breakdown at work (if he did he would likely go to a secluded area to calm down) but its very likely that he’s experienced many overstimulated breakdowns or shut downs during his life once his senses became so insane.

I could go on about this for hours but now I have to tag all of this and pass the hell out. Unsurprisingly my own time blindness has gotten the better of me (I started this at 2 am and it is currently 5 am)

Common ADHD traits/experiences I've heard of !!

(I was gonna make a post about why I might be neurodivergent but I figured it'd be going a bit too personal. Also this is just easier)

(ADHD is much more nuanced and complex than I may make it appear in this post. A lot of ADHD people don't have a lot of these traits or have traits not mentioned here. For example there are three types of ADHD (inattentive, hyperactive and combined) and most inattentive adhders are not going to be hyperactive lol)

Warning: badly worded (I'm stupid that's my excuse). also I'll go on personal rants as to how some of these may apply to me (whilst I can reasonate with each point listed here I won't go on a rat on all of these)

Physical hyperactivity (inability to sit/stand still (I used to think this meant that people with ADHD were incapable of. Sitting down (while constantly fidgeting or not) for one whole class)(I was an idiot)(I still am)). (Just overall constant , movement (I might have it idk I'm ALWAYS

Excessive talking

Stimming, fidgeting, general and overall repetitive movements (such as flapping hands, pacing, clasping hands together, etc)

Low attention span regarding things that don't garner much interest to you

More likely to be autistic, have anxiety or depression (or generally have other diagnostic conditions)

Ability to Hyperfocus on specific things, at times out of their control

More likely to have a lower Performance in school that most people

Proneness to addiction

Rejection sensitive dysphoria/RSD (really sensitive and afraid to rejection or criticism or disapproval or stuff like that. I'm questioning if I have it and I'm pretty sure I do bc i would have a whole breakdown bc i accidentally had a bad unintentional thought about this cool person I didn't want to hate me)(it's complicated)

Emotional disregulation (easily irritable, excited, stressed, stronger emotions, more likely to lash out, etc)(people with this are usually described to be much more emotional)

restless leg syndrome (except it's permanent lol)

Lower memory spans regarding most things

Forgetting to fulfill basic needs (such as eating, drinking, showering, etc)

Women/AFAB people are more likely to be diagnosed with inattentive ADHD (this of course does not rucking mean afab people can't b hyperactive my god)

Mental hyperactivity (racing/constant/overlapping/repetitive thoughts or stuff like that)

Impulsivity (doing stuff without thinking them fully though or not knowing why)

Sensory issues (sensitivity to sensory output such as noise, brightness, etc)

Easily bored/underwhelmed/understimulated - more likely to want to seek constant dopamine (due to l

Easily overwhelmed (whether itd be due to aforementioned sensory issues, emotional disregulation, rsd or stuff like that)

More likely to be perceived as "childish" (from what I've heard obviously this and many other things listed here don't apply to everyone)

Executive dysfunction (can't do shit at all)(ok it's more complicated than that just Google it up or something)

Having Hyperfixations (things you're DEEPLY invested in for a period of time, it can be a few days, weeks, months, sometimes more than a year, depends rly)(I'm still questioning if I'm neurodivergent but like I'm pretty sure I was in a DEEP hyperfixation mode when it came to sonic for like. A YEAR. like I literally it was literally the only thing on my brain the only thing in my life. and I would get realllytyy excited about learning obscure information about it or infodumping and I would flap my hands bc of how excited and passionate I was Abt it)(man I miss the times when I was so passionate about stuff I liked it was so fun :(( )

Higher/lower levels of empathy (I've seen this moreso been brought up with discussions regarding autism but I've also seen it brought up with ADHD itself too)

Lower levels of dopamine

Impatience

More likely to be a maladaptive daydreamer

Its cause is usually heavily genetic (meaning if your family or a family member has ADHD, you are more likely to have ADHD yourself)

More likely to have insomniac/have general problems with sleep (I'm questioning ADHD. I'm writing this like... Five hours before I'm supposed to wake up for school. Great.)

There is also a higher relevance between ADHD and PTSD

This post is not meant to be used as a substitute for self nor professional diagnosis, though if you feel like you might have ADHD because of this post I recommend further research and conversations with trusted advisors such as parental figures or therapists/doctors (not me not listening to my own advice)(<- that was me regarding my latter advice)(I'm too scared to tell my parents about it man)(idk why)

Things to note:

ADHD is not just about little elementary school hyperactive white boys !!

There's a lot of things I mightve missed

Not everyone with ADHD has all these traits (obviously)

Some of these traits may be common due to the commonness of ADHD + autism overlap (idk though)

Apparently it's one of the most diagnosed forms of neurodivergence in kids (about 7-10% of kids in the USA are diagnosed with ADHD)(APPARENTLY idk)

Kim Mingyu had become the unofficial third-wheel of the group and he knew it was his own actions and ideas that led him up to this predicament. It was him and his own brain that came up with the amazing ideas to introduce his two best friends because it would be a lot more fun to hangout together. He didn’t think hanging out together would mean Wonwoo and you on a date at his apartment with him sitting on a couch adjacent to the one you were sharing with your boyfriend. Jeonghan would’ve let out that stupid cackle of his if he saw this, Mingyu thought, shoving another handful of popcorn into his mouth. You may be friends with Jeonghan first but Mingyu was that one extroverted friend with golden retriever energy who thinks his bandmates’ best friends are equal to his best friends.

“Why would you introduce them to each other anyway? It’s like watching two Wonwoos, you know they’re gonna fall in love with each other. They’re too compatible together.” Seungcheol had jokingly commented when Mingyu first mentioned how he’d become the third-wheel in this friendship.

Mingyu only whined in reply. Yeah, maybe his drunk, past self thought it would be really cute to see Wonwoo meet someone who would understand him and that person was you. And maybe he had prayed more than a couple times for Wonwoo to speed up this whole courting process because you were both so slow. “We’re taking it slow.” You told him and Mingyu wanted to slam his head against the glass table. You weren’t slow. Both of you were just too dense and too shy to confess.

Which brought him to his next ‘Mingyu’s Amazing Ideas’, which was to speed up whatever this thing you and Wonwoo had. Movie night that suddenly became a date night because Mingyu suddenly wants to go to the gym. A weekly dinner where Mingyu suddenly decided to skip out on after cooking you the best pasta of your life.

He was plotting his own demise, really. He thought he couldn’t feel more single in his life but you and Wonwoo proved him otherwise. And it wasn’t like you were flaunting your relationship in front of his face. It was Wonwoo’s gentle touch on your hand, the way you would quietly play with Wonwoo’s hair while watching the movies, the tiny smile and twinkle in both your eyes that Mingyu always seemed to notice without wanting to. He was happy, really. But it just made him feel so single and so prone to be everyones’ butt of jokes.

And as the resident’s third-wheel, Mingyu also had the honor in witnessing the first huge fight of your relationship. It was the first break the group had in a while and he had been busy in the kitchen, experimenting with new recipes he had found during Seventeen’s latest tour when he heard it. Wonwoo’s quiet nagging and your annoyed voice. His ears perked up at the tense whispers that slowly grew louder. He almost grabbed a popcorn and called Jeonghan so they could watch this amazing spectacle together but his common sense thankfully won over his impulsive thoughts.

So he did what he did best. Sneaked into the living room and to say he was surprised was an understatement. You were crying on the couch, face turned away from Wonwoo who looked like he was on the verge of a breakdown himself.

“You can’t be like this, Y/N.” Wonwoo sighed, looking more tense and frustrated by the second. You didn’t turn to look at him, opting to fix your gaze on the rain outside the apartment.

“I can and I will.” You had replied petulantly. “You were supposed to be on my side, Wonu!”

“I am!”

“No, you’re not! You told my manager I should apologize to that stupid MC. My manager! I am so furious, Wonu. You know how ignorant that MC was and my reaction was justified! A few hate comments are worth it.”

“I wouldn’t do that, Y/N, you know that. They posted an entire article on you and the comments were ruthless. I’ve read them. Your manager–” Wonwoo replied, this time with a gentler tone.

“I really thought my boyfriend would be on my side.” You suddenly stood up and grabbed your stuff, startling both Wonwoo and Mingyu. You turned to Mingyu, who looked like he was a deer caught in a headlight. “I’m going home. Thank you for having me, Mingyu. I need to go before I say something I regret.”

“Y/N–”

“I need some space.” You said, wiping a lone tear from your eyes and quickly left before Wonwoo could stop you.

Mingyu stood awkwardly by the couch while he watched his best friend groan in frustration. He wanted to ask Wonwoo what happened, if he needed any help. But all that came out of his mouth was a little “huh,” earning a glare from the older male.

“Did something happen?” Mingyu finally asked after a good few minutes.

It was a stupid fight, Mingyu realized, and he supposed even a mature couple like you and Wonwoo could have a stupid fight. It was all because of an interview you had yesterday, where the MC thinks making crude and sexist remarks in front of the quietest member of the group would be okay. He did not think that you would explode, replying with scathing remarks and leaving the interview earlier than scheduled. The behind scenes were leaked by a staff member and you were blasted on social media, some calling you for being so rude and impolite to a senior who was almost twice your age, some commended you for standing up. And Wonwoo, being the worried boyfriend that he was, had asked your manager what would happen to you, and your manager told him an apology would diffuse the whole situation. You, who was already overworked and in a foul mood, thought it was Wonwoo’s idea to make you apologize. You had cried during your drive to Mingyu and Wonwoo’s shared apartment, heart twisting at the betrayal.

And Mingyu, unable to let his best friends suffer, had taken the initiative to smack Wonwoo’s in the head, telling him to put himself in your shoes before he went to his room to call you and reprimand you for not listening to Wonwoo’s whole story.

The fight had lasted a good few hours, with you coming back to the apartment not long after you left. There were apologies and kisses exchanged, which was more than Mingyu could handle. So he resorted back to his bedroom, taking out his phone to video call Jeonghan and update him on the situation.

Pros

She's often in a good mood most of the time so she almost never lash out or get angry at anybody (even if somebody is mean to her)

She's really patient when she interacts with other people so she doesn't mind people who talks a little too much or people who has weird habits...it's mostly because she meets many people like that in elementary school

She doesn't talk much at all unless she's spoken to

She's very loyal to the person she likes or trusts, but there's only a select few that she's truly fond of

She's taught to be polite to everyone...even to the one she hates...and she's great at acting like everything's okay

She likes to take care of the chores and rearranging stuff to look neatly, she takes this from her mom ofcourse

She likes to cook or bake stuff in the mean time...the food is make is just a little above average and she's pretty self conscious about it, she first learns how to cook because of Bernardus her guardian angel though he only knows a little about cooking

She's prone to sudden mental breakdowns when she's stressed, overwhelmed or too tired to keep herself together...though she tries her hardest not to appear venerable when there's other people around

You couldn't possibly tell hows she's really feeling under that smiling facade of hers....as I said earlier she's really good at acting

Did the daughters have an adolescent crisis or like a rebellious phase and how did Alcina deal with it ?

Generally the daughters were a handful and Alcina isn’t going to say otherwise. She did bear three very strong headed daughters and at times she wondered if passing her genes was such a good idea. But this is Alcina, she is warm and affectionate but when the daughter push her far enough, they meet another side of their mother they’d rather not meet a lot. Luckily, her daughters are smart enough not to push that far because mama’s wrath is that last thing they want to evoke and life is much better when their mama is happy with them. Because Alcina is very stern when needed, and her word is law. Whatever she says is going to happen and no amount of tears sway her. So it’s better not that get her to that point and everyone is happy. Though life is not always so perfect. As the daughter got older and were in their teenage years, things did get rocky. Bela didn’t really get into a rebellious phase compared with her sisters. Often, Bela was content being on their mother’s side when it came to a lot of things. She is her mother’s right hand and she took pride in it. Of course, she is only a child still, and at times she got testy and tried to go against her mother. But it doesn’t last long because one look from Alcina is enough to bring her back to the straight and narrow. Bela is a rule follower and she is quickly brought back to sanity when she feels that she has gone too far.

Bela did go through a crisis because she does have a lot on her plate. Between maintaining perfection, managing her sisters (not the easiest task in the world), and being around her mother- the eldest Dimitrescu daughter was prone to breakdowns when things got too much.

Alcina tries to lessen the responsibility, but there are certain things that only Bela is capable of. She knows that the younger two are not as capable or organized as she is. For that, Alcina would remove certain tasks to allow Bela more free time and to just rest. But Bela being who she is, she'd think that her mother sees her less capable/not trusting her and she'd eat at herself for a whole different reason.

There was no winning with Bela. Alcina found that it's best to keep things as they are as Bela's guilt shows and she hates to be the reason for it.

Cassandra- Alcina has always prided herself on being a very patient person who could tolerate a lot from her teenage daughters (but that’s only Bela so it’s fake) Cassandra however proved to be a challenge. Alcina’s second daughter lived off of pushing the limits. While Alcina could give Bela some leeway with some rules, doing so with Cassandra is a big fat no. Cassandra doesn’t listen. She does what she wants when she wants and she thinks if she holds her ground long enough mama is going to relent. Little does she know that her mama can outlast all three sisters without breaking any sweat. Does Cassandra realize this? No. Cassandra also doesn’t take too kindly to hearing ‘no’. Her brain doesn’t process it and she ignores it and does as she pleases. Too bad for her, her mother is not someone who’d let these things go. Unlike her sisters, Cassandra is very sensitive and emotional even when she hides it so well. Alcina is Cassandra’s rock, she is a steady unyielding presence amidst the crashing waves that even she struggles with sometimes. Cassandra is intense and very very stubborn. Her rebellion is a driving force and she is often met with a strong mother who never ever relents. Alcina knows that with Cassandra it’s a waiting game. Rules must be very clear, and consequences even clearer. When her middle daughter gets herself into trouble, she knows exactly what awaits her at the end of that. By far, Cassandra is very challenging because she is always doing the exact opposite of what her mother says. At times, Alcina wondered if she was doing it on purpose to give her mother a hard time or if she was just being an insane teenager. She reasons that it’s the latter, always. Because despite that, Cassandra and she are very close. She reminds herself that her daughter going off the rails for no reason is because she feels secure with her, that no matter how absolutely insane and difficult she is, her mother is always there for her. Alcina also knows that Cassandra is testing her. Her confident strong-willed daughter feels insecure at times. It’s why she pushes and pushes just so that she can confirm that her mother is there. Alcina doesn’t let any of these things slide. She is always there to remind her daughter that she’s there to love her no matter what. Though, no, she is never exempt from punishment because she earned every bit of it. Alcina also knows that Cassandra’s stubbornness and resilience are those of her own. At times, the woman catches herself admiring her daughter before catching herself and remembering that she needs to parent and discipline her wild daughter. Ironically, though it’s no surprise to anyone, Cassandra is the one who ended up grounded the most. She often brings it up, claiming that she’s probably the least favorite because Bela and Daniela didn’t get grounded as much. But Alcina is always there to remind her that it’s her actions that led her to this. And besides, when she’s grounded she spends more time with her mother so the least favorite allegations are not true (she thinks she can use it as a bargaining chip but this doesn’t work with her mother)

Daniela- From a young age, Daniela proved to be independent and confident in herself. Of course, this dependence translated to her thinking she's as old are her sisters and thus should be allowed to do the same things that they do.

Alcina, on her part, often found it hard to deny her youngest anything. Daniela doesn't ask for much, and she's usually soft as a dove.

As she got older, Daniela tried to rebel against the very lax rules that were implemented. But unlike Cassandra, her outbursts are short and she's easily distracted by something else.

Daniela always thought it was unfair. Her sisters only have their mother to deal with, while she has her mother AND Bela. She tries to be like Cassandra, but every time she tries to sneak out she is caught. She is never as stealthy and her plans are never that thoroughly thought out.

This is not to say things were smooth sailing with her. Because like Cassandra, she doesn't take kindly to 'no' and she isn't above throwing a tantrum over things not going her way. But being the youngest, and after Cassandra. Alcina barely bats an eyelash because try as she might, Dani is not as intense as Cassandra and all her attempts at rebellion are tame in comparison (when she was twelve, Cassandra did try to sneak out through the roof of the castle one time using only a rope; she ended up falling and breaking her leg and elbow and while she was at the hospital she had the audacity to ask Alcina if she isn't grounded anymore to which Alcina said 'you're grounded for the next six months' so on top of being broken in several places she managed to extend her punishment this is why Dani is very tame in comparison)

Idk if its something but there is something just so deep in the way Alan doesnt think of either of the novels he wrote under the influence of dark presence as “good books”

Like he thinks of them as a means to an end, as a way to save Alice, or to escape, whatever BUT a creation that he’s proud of

Like hear me out— i know it should be obvious, considering his books literally altered reality and killed some people, but Alan in general tends to focus only on his worst traits so all that we hear about him is that he’s arrogant proud prone to anger

Like i personally like the pages of the manuscript — the whole thing with the edits is great, and the prose of it is simply wonderful in all games

But Alan doesnt write to make it good or to enjoy it or whatever

“The story is a monster” is so tragic because while he was influenced byt the dark presence, it is still his art in its core and there should be a degree of “i made this im proud of this” but there isnt

Pages of the manuscript as collectibles feel really interesting because they can help you, they describe what’s happening, but they are scattered around. And while we can assume its the scratch of the dark presence scattered them to make rhetorical story harder to understand, its also possible that it’s because unconsciously Alan doesnt really want anyone to read them or find them in the first place. He gives Saga the important ones to go further, but nothing more

Like i don’t consider myself a particularly arrogant writer but if i was in his place, i would have probably been still kinda proud i wrote it all, me writing has power

Alan Wake 2 shows us Alan having multiple mental breakdowns solely because he has too keep writing. He doesn’t hate the process, thats the thing, we can see he still finds it interesting. But he hates the power it has, the influence and he wants to stop but he cant

This is possibly the realest thing in this game because a lot of times this is what writing feels like. You cannot stop you need to write this isnt a choice it plagues your mind until you give it to paper and afterwards its on its own

Idk idk i dont think it’s necessarily that deep, but the game just does such a great job of portraying so many themes

Hwang Hyunjin ideal type & Relationships in general ꨄ

-Hyunjin's ideal type, relationship info, and anything else is based solely on his natal chart. His birth time is currently unknown, so I calculated this chart with that in mind. Some things may be slightly inaccurate based on that but I tried my best with what I have. Basically, I'm going to first do breakdowns of him in a relationship and his general type based on every aspect of his natal chart, then at the end an overview of all the things combined. The breakdowns will be more detailed, though, and contain more of my reasonings. The overview will combine everything together, and contain more info on his ideal type, as well as how he is in reationships. This is just for fun, please take this with a grain of salt! The breakdown of his side of things will be in normal text, while his type based on it will be in italics. I'm considering making an additional three posts: One more in-depth one going into Hyunjin's birth chart, another more in-depth one going into Hyunjin in a relationship, and the last more in-depth one going into Hyunjin's ideal type. Maybe even a more 18+ one we shall see. Let me know if you want that. This is definitely going to be more heavy on his Venus and Mars, as well as his Moon, Sun, and Rising signs. This will also begin with a few notes at the beginning, basically ratings based on the combination of all these traits.

F-Boy levels - 7.5/10 (I definitely think he would want a committed relationship, but it'd be hard for him to have one. It's a combination of so many things, with 1. Him being a star in his early twenties with millions of people thirsting after and worshipping him, 2. his placements implying HEAVY sexual desires, and just general high...Drive. 3. Some of his placements, when combined, point to him having a distinct inability to stick to one person, or commit to a relationship. Granted, when he does, he'd be the best boyfriend, but...Getting him to? One hell of a ride. Though this'll definitely be covered more in depth at the end.)

Boyfriend material - 7.5/10 (Honestly, if he wasn't so goddamn non-committal he'd be a 9. Hyunjin as a boyfriend would be amazing, all things considered, even if he can be a bit critical. Though, again, go into this in-depth at the end.)

Pisces Sun

Trust Pisces tend to wear their hearts on their sleeves when it comes to love and romance, but it's still an earned privilege, as they don't generally open up to just anyone. They're extremely selective with their inner circle, and when it comes to first impressions and gut instincts they're unswayable. Either they trust you, or they don't. No in-betweens. As such, he'd naturally be attracted to extremely honest people, as well as attracted to trust in others, as well as people who are very upfront and open. Not the type who will tell their entire life story to him immediately, but the type who will be upfront with their feelings and desires, and will essentially let him know what exactly he's getting himself into. Essentially, he needs someone he knows for certain he can trust, and who trusts him in return.

Sensitivity Pisces are very very sensitive when it comes to both themselves and the world around them. They're extremely touched by suffering; at least in theory. They believe in people and have a hard time saying no. They are also deeply hurt by a lack of compassion. They avoid harsh realities by escapism or delusion, but every now and again when they are faced with the harshness of reality, they retreat into their own world. They're definitely self-pitying when they get like that and give themselves pep talks, though they're prone to very extreme solutions in their minds, such as thoughts like "I'll never trust again!" that's usually fleeting. Those periods are also useful because bouts of self-pity make Pisces come back with a pep in their step better than ever. They help Pisces grow. They also make them even more compassionate and trusting. Pisces is a creative with angst, although this is brought out more in Pisces moons. He can also be very self-destructive, and worry about betrayal, though those around him may find it more endearing than anything. He can also be very self-sacrificial at times, even if his Pisces Sun will make him yearn for kind of the white picket fence dream. Pisces look for people who can be there for them, and help care for them. Someone who is in-tuned with emotions, and can help ease them through these periods and listen to their troubles, as well as talk about the deeper things in life. They need someone who's warm and compassionate and caring, as well as ideally someone with a confidence and steadfastness that helps balance out their sensitivity and generally self-pitying nature. Pisces also love praise, albeit they're very perceptive, so they'll know if it's honest, real praise or not. They like honest praise that's not just surface-level like "I like your shirt!" but something deeper and genuinely from the heart. They also need someone with enough emotional maturity to help combat their general emotionalness.

Indecision With Hyunjin's particular Pisces positioning, albeit guesstimated, he has a lot of conflict with his wants and needs, often leading to indecision. He also has a tendency to stray in many aspects of life, definitely putting the 'stray' in 'Straykids'. His ability to be objective is both a strength and a weakness because when he decides on one thing he's pulled in another direction. Something will always make him question his stance, often forming "What if..."s. He's always aware of the opposing side of the coin. In addition to this, he's strong-willed and sensitive, which can most definitely create conflicts when all three things combine, though they'd subside with time. There's often conflict between his more internalized needs, and his goals and motivations. Because of this, his private and public personas are entirely different, mirroring his inner and outer goals being different. Hyunjin would probably find himself more drawn to someone decisive, know what they want, and voice those opinions. He'd also be drawn to someone who could help guide him, and offer advice and counsel when it comes to decision-making, without being entirely overbearing or controlling of his decisions. Someone who could help him out, and who he could talk to when trying to make important decisions he can't seem to decide on. He'd also need someone who wouldn't be distinctly bothered by the difference between his private and public personas and would know that he still loves them and he's always going to be Hyunjin.

Virgo Moon

The Little Things Virgo moons find security in the little things. They feel content when all the little details are straightened out, and may even find genuine joy in running errands, balancing the books, and paying bills. Even if some won't let on, they still take care of those things happily. Though they can get very naggy. But as long as they're appreciated, they'll help take care of the lives of those they love as well. They're at their best when they feel useful and needed like they have a purpose and a role. If someone needs help they're usually the first to jump on the task. Many consider Virgo Moons to be underachievers, but in reality, most are simply content with living lives that are...Well, regular. They appreciate simplicity. Virgo moons definitely like to have someone they could care for, and look out for. They like being able to take care of their partners and feel needed by doing little things for them. Virgo moons are generally very domestic people, and they like taking care of chores and such. They definitely feel more in their element of caring for others and would prefer it to be that way. They're drawn to people who seem weak or even almost incapable, and who can't care for themselves on their own, so they can feel needed, and help out caring for that person.

Overwhelmed Virgo Moons are very easily overwhelmed by pressure and stress. They worry a lot, especially when there's so much to think about, and know their limits which is both a blessing and a curse. Virgos find solace in a steady routine, or a satisfying job. They need to feel useful. They need a place to call their own, and the space to do what they want to do. Virgos often gravitate more towards owning homes than renting because of it, as they want to be able to do their own thing in their own space without too many restrictions. He can sometimes even get fussy or complain-y if he's unhappy with something. They enjoy routine and freak out if the routine is not followed or deviated from. They are restless and nervous and fail to see the big picture in things sometimes. Often the best remedy for this is a job or hobby where they can express their deep need to analyze, micro-manage, and attend to details. Hyunjin would probably be drawn to someone with a calm, more laid-back, or relaxed demeanor to offset his being prone to getting very stressed and overwhelmed. He'd probably look for someone with a calm, balancing aura who can help calm him down when he freaks out about something. He'd look for someone who can help draw him out of his shell just enough, but still be able to follow a routine, and be a reliable constant. He'd want someone with whom he'd know what he's getting himself into and know he can rely on. He'd want someone reliable and would definitely find himself more drawn to the type who are also very routine people like himself.

Practicality Virgo moons show love in more non-showy and practical manners. When it comes to open, gushy displays of emotion they can be stiff or freeze up, or not even know what to do. Oftentimes they'd even be uncomfortable with it. Virgo moons are often shy with new people, though when they open up they're anything but. They're talkative, and interested, and even interesting themselves. Virgo moons are trustworthy and reliable and can be counted on. Others can go to them for help and advice. In relationships, they're self-effacing and kind. Some are shy and easily intimidated in love, and others aren't comfortable with their sexuality, but all are eager to please nonetheless. Virgos are very body-aware, and as such they can be very self-critical as they're too aware of the parts that make up their body as a whole. Once they learn to come out of their shells, they can be very earthy and have a lot to give. He's also very skeptical, and wouldn't respond well to the blind faith of others. He'd be very critical, to a maddening level, and insistent on seeing the practical and everything. It could be challenging, especially if you're on the dreamier side. Virgo moons can also come across as confusing. For example, they're very interested in the problems of others but can come across as cool and unsympathetic. Their advice can seem hard to more sensitive people, yet when faced with the criticism of others they're more delicate. Virgo moons are voices of reason. They're very busy, and happy when their lives are under control. Many are early risers who go about the day with enthusiasm. They keep busy and manage their lives quietly, and give good advice. Hyunjin would inherently be attracted to people who are definitely affectionate but can be more subdued in public settings. He'd definitely want someone who can bring out the more hidden sides of him, whether it be his talkative nature or his sexuality. He'd also want someone who makes him feel good about himself and his appearance. Someone who makes him feel like he's actually worth something. He has a lot to give, and anyone he's with should have a lot to give as well. He'd need someone who's more thick-skinned, and could handle his criticism. He'd also need someone who trusts him, but doesn't trust him immediately or blindly. Ironically, an excess of trust would make him trust his partner less. He could do good with someone who's more whimsical or dreamy, as they'd broaden the horizons of his inherent practicality, but at the same time he'd be more drawn to like-mindedly practical people, and might even find someone too dreamy to be annoying.

Perceptive Again the rest of this is definitely delving more into exact positioning, granted very guesstimated. He's very perceptive and will tune into the emotions and feelings of others. Because of this, he'll often withdraw from others isolate himself, and get overwhelmed easily, because he's constantly drawing in the feelings, emotions, and energies of those around him. He may have strong and sudden feelings or hunches that can overcome him. Though, his intuition is almost always correct, though his imagination is strong and as such he can read too much into a situation. He also has a deep connection with music due to this placement, as it ties in with his understanding of compassion. Oftentimes music resonates with him, and can even hone into the more emotional sides of him. He can dissect music for its lyrics feelings meanings and emotions, and often does so. He uses music as an outlet for emotions, as well as to help relax and uplift him. Though he'd undoubtedly be quick to grow annoyed, even if he's generally calm, humble, gentle, and reserved. He also has a very good memory, especially when it comes to the little things about people. He's also very devoted by nature. Though he may be more passive, as he was probably branded as a "shy" child, and as such those around him jumped in to save him from more confrontational or aggressive situations, now he's much more passive and won't just go out and get what he wants. Hyunjin would definitely want someone who is emotionally intelligent and competent but isn't overly emotional, again circling back to his attraction to those on the calmer side. He would want someone who's very straightforward in all manners, including emotions, and who wouldn't overwhelm him and can genuinely relax around. But he'd also want someone who can give him space when he needs it and is fine with that. He'd want someone who's as into music as he is, and who he can talk about music with all the time, and can even sing songs with. They don't have to be good at singing, but they just have to be able to sing along with him and have fun and no judgment. He'd also want someone who understands emotions and music as much as he does, as that amount of perceptiveness is harder to come by. He'd definitely want someone who's more in-tuned with and in control of their emotions.

Pisces Mercury

The 'Kid' in the Stray Kid. He sponges up the feelings and moods of those around him. He's moody, and sometimes he's withdrawn while other times he's quite the opposite. He's tactful and will go out of his way not to offend others, though that may cause him to let people walk all over him a little. He has a flexible mind, and mixed with his imagination it can make him very gullible, though he's open to possibilities. He's indirect, and it can be hard to pin down his beliefs and opinions. He looks on the bright side of life. He is happy, optimistic, agreeable, and sociable. He enjoys speaking and writing and is very charming and artistic. His intellectual pleasures are heavily influenced by feeling, like many other things in his life. Though don't get it twisted, he's definitely on the amorous and sensual side of things.
