Listen. One of my favorite parts of the "stab me" scene is Stede calling Ed a nut. Like, I could listen to him say "I've stabbed you, you nut!" over and over again. It's sweet, incredibly endearing, and just so so silly.

And then the writers had the absolute NERVE to bring it back when Ed died? How did they expect me to recover from this? Why would they devastate us in this way? What gave them the right?

Corrected Ask (Probably an Unpopular Opinion)

So. On my computer - for some unknown reason - a red heart showed as black and the orange showed as red. I answered the orange - thinking it was red. On my phone, I discovered the mistake.

So ... without further ado ... the answer to the ask that was actually asked:

Brittany. Hands down. They either make her this paragon of perfection who can do EVERYTHING and ANYTHING (fix a car? sure. Write out a complex math equation? Of course. Play every instrument known to man? Yup. Run a restaurant? Play soccer? Play football? Yup. Yep. Yes.), stupid, or simply there to support Santana. Which is actually an insult to Santana as well.

Brittany is AWESOME. But she was far from perfect (and I also think HeMo was almost criminally underrated). She was a bit of a mean girl (not as bad as Santana or Quinn); she insulted people, made fun of people. She didn't slushie or get violent but she didn't exactly play nice. She flat out told Rachel "I hate you" in ... S2, I think. (Maybe S1). She made fun of Marley's mom in S4 (so I heard, I have not watched much of S4.) She made fun of Quinn in S1 (probably buying bigger pants). Even in S6 in "Homecoming" Rachel says something about "they would never make fun of me" and Brittany comments "Not to her face" and in "Jagged Little Tapestry" she goes off on Tina (and she finds Santana's insults toward Rachel hilarious in 100, New Directions, and Jagged Little Tapestry).

Brittany is just as complex as any other character (maybe even more so than Rachel who is pretty much one dimensional - the whole run of the show, she doesn't grow as a person. She's going to be a star no matter who she hurts in the process - Rachel won't fail, the Glee gods forbade it).

Brittany isn't stupid. Unconventionally intelligent would be my thought. Math Genius. Emotional Genius - she reads people better than anyone else on the show (especially Santana) ... in S1 she's portrayed as the vapid, sexually fluid, sidekick. In S2 - she starts out being vapid and accepting of Santana's behavior but evolves starting with "Duets" ... she stops accepting the crumbs Santana offers, she wants more and sets out to get what she wants. She hurts Artie, which actually bothers her so she sets out to make it right. (We don't get to see that - we see Artie break it off with her then we see them together in "Furt" with no explanation how they got there).

She displays her intelligence the only way she knows how; roundabout, metaphorically. She wants to know what Santana feels. She recognizes Santana isn't ready to be out and be the person Brittany knows she can be and doesn't want to hurt Artie (again) just because Santana said "I love you" but hasn't grown enough to not want it to be "real".

S3 - her speech about "tornados" when running for class president - wasn't about tornados. It was about bullying/homophobia. Brittany doesn't think the way others do. Kurt is a "unicorn" ... nobody actually believe Brittany thinks Kurt is a unicorn disguised as a human.

She knows Rory is playing her - and she uses it.

Brittany is a MASTER level troll. All of Comeback is one big Brittany trolling Rachel episode. She trolls Rory. There are sign all throughout Glee of Brittany just ... making fun of people in such a way they think she's stupid. There's a look she gives Rachel in Comeback; Rachel is walking away from Brittany (who is wearing leg warmers on her arms and one of her fuzzy hats) and the look on Brittany's face says it all. It's sly as a fox. She knows what Rachel wants and is deliberately doing something different.

Her "Lord Tubbington" stories are her way of working through things she can't put voice to (usually her difficulties with Santana).

One would assume, since she rides Motocross, she at least knows how to maintain/fix her bike. She's not the strongest singer (although she greatly improved throughout the series). As far as we know, she doesn't play any instruments. She's a phenomenal dancer.

She is non-confrontational.

When the pregnancy scare happens - I have no doubt she made up the "stork" thing on the fly because she didn't want to talk to Artie about it until she was sure (and certainly not in front of a room full of people). There is no doubt in my mind that Brittany knows where babies come from (her line in S1 about Quinn buying bigger pants would suggest she does know that much). There is no way that Santana didn't make sure that Brittany knew about safe sex/birth control. The look Santana gives her (when Brittany says the stork is building its nest) is one of disbelief; she knows Brittany's trolling/making stuff up. I have no doubt that, after that scene/at the end of the day, Santana took Brittany to the pharmacy and bought half a dozen pregnancy tests so they could make sure.

She is terrible at school. This does not make her stupid. She doesn't do stupid things. I want to say it's Sue who points out the Special Ed in McKinley is a joke; which means there's absolutely NO ONE who would be able to help Brittany. I find myself annoyed at her parents for not knowing she needed help. I find myself wondering why Emma Pillsbury wasn't all over the fact that Brittany was failing EVERY SINGLE CLASS ALL YEAR LONG. I don't know about you but in my high school there were plenty of warnings from teachers/guidance counselors when you were in danger of failing. How does she get from September to June without ANYONE mentioning that "if you don't bring your grades up you won't be graduating".

I mean, I get that Santana had other things on her mind but ... in order to get a 0.0 GPA, Brittany would have had to fail EVERY test and not turn in ANY homework. Does anyone really believe Santana and Brittany didn't do homework together?

Of course, Glee messed us up anyway because there is no way Brittany gets to her senior year with a 0.0 GPA. She has, evidently, never failed a grade in twelve years of schooling (her first senior year she's either 17 or 18, the normal age for a senior in the US). Um ... how is it possible that Brittany never failed a grade but completely bombs senior year? Brittany wouldn't be allowed to be a Cheerio with that kind of GPA - let's not forget that Mr. Schue failed all the Cheerios who were actually failing Spanish so they couldn't be on the squad. Yet, Brittany was on that field right along with Quinn and Santana. I suppose the argument could be made that Schue just didn't fail "his" kids. But ... if Schue failing all those Cheerios got them bumped from the Squad, surely Brittany failing EVERYTHING would have precluded her from being a Cheerio. I don't think she'd be allowed to participate in Motocross or Glee, either.

Brittany is bi-lingual. Yes, it was a kind of throwaway joke in S3 ... but it came back around in S6, didn't it?

I know the whole "math genius" thing was so HeMo could leave the show ... but (see above) there are other ways that show she's not stupid.

The whole thing about the egg being a "chicken's house" and how do we know there's not a chicken in there - isn't stupidity - it's a lack of knowledge. I actually had to look it up. I was unaware of the way eggs get fertilized. I'm OLD. I am a college graduate and have a rather high IQ. I was right there with Brittany wondering how the hell did we know if there was a chicken in that egg. Lack of knowledge doesn't equal stupid.

Add to that the fact that Santana loves her and understands her. Santana doesn't strike me as someone who would be able to be in a relationship with someone who was truly stupid.

She wasn't perfect. She wasn't stupid. She is seriously underrated and underappreciated.

Hey! Sorry to bother you but I was wondering: do you have any headcannons about how the main characters (ie, Ryo, Ren, Shenhua, Joy, maybe even Guizhang and Xiuying) would interact with one another? I've been thinking about it pretty consistently recently, especially when it comes to what direction Shenmue 4 might take. I'm really hopeful that when(/if) we get the next Shenmue, the story will advance a lot more and I'm really hoping that means we'll get the return of more characters! Anyways, I'd love to hear your thoughts if you have time :))

ryo & shenhua: I think this is the most perfect and stable relationship in the entirety of shenmue. No ass whooping, no bickering, just wholesomeness ^_^. So this is making me think that their relationship would only get better in s4 and even more exciting cause I believe the truth about shenhua's "superpowers" (and possibly ryo's) would be revealed in s4 so I'm imagining all the interesting interactions that would happen between them🥶🥶🥶

ryo & ren: shipping aside, their relationship is pretty unstable imo and they usually don't have any deep conversations aside from discussing how they will get revenge/treasure , so I'm not sure how they would interact in s4, but I'm sure they'd still be somewhat hostile towards each other at the beginning (though less hostile because I think that they'd start to realize they had a lot of strong bro moments together, especially when ren saved ryo from getting killed by Lan di), ren would continue being protective of ryo anyways because that's something he's shown in the previous games. wether or not they'd become besties near the end of the game is something that I cannot tell because I found them to be unnecessarily mean to each other in 3 :((((((( but I HOPE that ren wouldn't betray ryo like many people are saying </3 (even though it makes perfect sense)

ryo & xiuying: basically the same treatment as in s2, because I think that for ryo to change his attitude towards xiuying he needs to understand that she's right abt revenge being a terrible idea, which is not the case because in s3 it's shown that he's still determined to get it 🙄🙄🙄🙄, she'd probably give up on convincing him and decide to train him to fight Lan di instead

ryo & guizhang: simply put, I headcanon that their relationship would be really cute✨✨. I personally feel like gui treats ryo like his lil bro, so I think he'd do brotherly stuff like giving him advice, teaching him moves, protecting him, etc. since guizhang is the oldest and strongest (?, physically at least), I expect the gang (ryo, shenhua, ren) to consider him their leader. as for wether or not he'd make a comeback, I don't see why he wouldn't??? I think a lot of in game time has passed so his leg should be fine....and considering the fact that he travels a lot between China and Japan, he might want to check up on what ryo has been doing.

ren & guizhang: i already headcanon that these two know each other, as they are both friends with joy and even if they haven't met, ren is pretty notorious in HK...same thing goes for gui and I know for a fact that both of them would be SHOCKED when they find out that ryo was/is involved with either of them because of their dangerous criminal activity. as I said before, the gang (mostly shenhua and ryo) might treat guizhang as their leader but since ren would also want to be the leader, this might make him clash with guizhang a lot, and then compete with him for the title, starting some hilarious drama.

ren & shenhua: shenhua would probably try to get to know ren, but ren would shut her off just like he does with ryo :(((. i dont think they'd argue a lot cause shenhua is very peaceful so she really isn't the type of to argue with anyone but she might just avoid interacting with him.... OR make him open up using her powers (just like how she did with that thug in the village), because she'd realize that he's not inherently a bad person (at least I think so) so she would try to "fix him"???? Idk lol. wish they interacted more in 3 :(((((

i agree with ur thoughts on s2, here some of my in depth thoughts though:

stuff i didn't like

- i totally agree about carmy not being as big of a presence in this season, i understand they wanted to show that he absolutely isn't ready for a relationship, but imo if ur gonna do that u gotta go bigger? crying in the fridge and getting in a fight with richie who we know he'll easily make up with isn't that big of a deal to me.. i would have loved to see a huge break up that made him confront his inability to let himself be happy AND claire reminding him of hs, home and michael (they kept hinting at this and all we got was one panic attack scene? ok)

- i actually didn't mind claire. it was very clear she was just a plot device from the start and i def wouldn't mind there being more depth to her character, but they had chemistry and the actress did a great job. idk i rly liked her character, but disliked the narrative surrounding her (i started rolling my eyes by the 20th time someone mentioned carmy liked her in hs, we get it!)

- i hate what they did to marcus, i don't see him as a bitter guy who yells after getting rejected idk what the point of that was since it got resolved in 10 min

- ebra's arc felt a little unfinished, like a scene or two was missing? but other than that i think it was great to see him struggle with smtn and more of his friendship with tina

- maybe a me thing, but i missed some of the surreal elements s1 had (the cooking show, the literal bear, the cage, the nightmare..)

things i liked

- literally everything else. the acting, dialogue, direction, lighting, you name it i loved it. the comedic moments were so good this season, richie and fak were standouts for me.

- just when i thought this show couldn't possibly overwhelm me more, but the christmas ep proved me wrong. it could have been shorter (the tiff and richie scene was especially long), but jamie lee curtis was too captivating for me to care all that much

- despite there being a lot of things i dislike, this is such a short list for me? i fucking love this show sm, and s2 was a great comeback as far as i'm concerned. not as great as the first, but still a banger and i can't wait to see what they do next <33

yeah i feel the same about claire like after a certain point none of the claire carmy scenes were offering me anything new. i wasn't learning anything new about carmy and didn't feel like the plot was moving along either. and the sex scene?? EW (not in a puritan sex way but carmy is sooooo sexless to me i don't want to see him breathing into this woman's face all sensual like creeps me out)

i'm so mad about stranger things s4

like... i was annoyed last night when i finished watching it but then i got on here this morning and saw everyone being like "here are all the reasons this season was bad"

and y'all... they have some points. to me it boils down to the duffers doing too much with the plot and not enough with the characters. there was something going on every fucking second plot wise but no time for the characters to talk with each other about all the shit going on, how they had changed as people, how they're relationships had changed.

i also think this was made so much fucking worse by that damn time jump!!!! how tf are you going to make a two hour and twenty two minute episode and have maybe four minutes of resolution (that made no sense by the way). at the end of s3 we got to see max's reaction to billy's death, eleven finding out hopper was gone, we got to see the characters talking and explaining and grieving. why, pray tell, were we robbed of that this season when we needed it 1000x more?????? everyone was so hyped for the finale specifically because everyone was split up the whole season! we thought we were going to get a huge reunion when everyone needed it most and then we just... didn't? eleven not asking a single question when hopper showed up??? ... ok.

speaking of eleven, yeesh. wtf is up with her being the only one who is possibly able to do anything ever? why have the hawkins gang make a plan just for her to swoop in and save them?? let other people help and fight and be heroes!! why couldn't max help fight vecna or at least be the one to remind eleven how loved and important she is (she would have done a better job than mike... that's all i'm saying. her memories with eleven were even her next happy memories to hide in that she had queued up after the snow ball)!

i mean seriously, the duffers screwed everyone over this season. not one character got some helpful, healthy growth (or even some pain that caused them to change!) will, robin, steve, nancy, jonathan, the sinclairs!!! erica and lucas deserved so much better, my god.

the last thing i'm going to say are the deaths (or lack thereof) were... bad. i was actually happy with brenner's death! i thought it was done well and it was very necessary (honestly, i thought the whole nina storyline was pretty good). i don't even think i need to talk about eddie's death because every third post on here is about why it sucked. i think the deaths felt so disappointing because the cast and crew had all been hyping up that this season there were going to be real deaths. like, main characters, not just killing off the newest character AGAIN (bob and alexie). we kind of needed a main character death! what happened to robin, steve, and nancy all getting strangled by vines for a solid half hour?? eddies death felt like a total cop out.

honestly, i need s5 to be good. i've seen some posts on my dash saying, "they've already started filming season five and they just had to cut this season short" (the noah in a harness photos). i hope so, man. i hope the reason this finale sucked was that they could not for the life of them figure out a good way to wrap this season up because they had such good wrap-ups planned for next season. i mean, there were parts of this season that were great! dear billy was incredible! it was a good comeback, they handled the gang being so split up pretty well, the plots were (mostly) good, and st lowkey never misses with it's music or villains. i just think the finale fucked up really bad, and i hope st redeems itself with this last season. i predict that there's not going to be much of a time jump between s4 and s5 like there is between most seasons because of what we saw happening in hawkins with the flowers and the dust, so hopefully it doesn't need a ton of exposition. ok, this is officially long as fuck but i don't care because i needed to rant!

Will’s songs

Don’t you forget about me: illustrates Will’s feelings after Mike says they won’t be together for the rest of their lives (but have to get gfs). Love’s “strange” (stranger things). And Will fears change will pull them apart- and as it rains he hopes Mike won’t forget about him/ and questions if Mike will ‘ever love him’. And Mike in the rain (instead of “walking on by?”) calls his name.

And of course deep down they know they’ll be together in the end. )

upsidedown: Just Will saying he loves Mike and he turns Will ‘insideout” (like the previous song) and “upsidedown”. And he loves him but he’s “crazy’ (cough ‘crazy together’) to think Mike is all his. But no matter what he’ll always love Mike.

I’m still standing’ is a guy bragging about a breakup and now feeling like a kid -lol Mike saying he feels like a 7 y old after the breakup . And moving on -lol it’s mileven).   The album is from “to be continued...” I MEAN, C’mon. That’s , very on the nose for s4 byler happening after mileven XD

‘Baby I lied’, also reminds me of the byler fight where Mike insults Will/talks about El and then says to Will “ But, we’re not kids anymore. I mean, what did you think, REALLY?  That we’d never get girlfriends? Sit in my basement and play games for the rest of our lives?” Causing Will to storm off crying- thinking Mike doesn’t even imagine Will being there for the rest of his life (in favor of a girlfriend).And then Mike (although already knowing of his feelings for Will) realizing that it wasn’t a temporary crush/phase- but that he was in love with Will. And only realizing he can’t live without him when Will left. Making it sink it to Mike that he was lying to Will during their fight.

also ‘Love is a battlefield’ (could be recontextualized/interpreted through a que*r lens  given the time period-typical hom*phobia) . Love would be considered a ‘battlefield’. ( The song could be. about 2 people refusing to state their feelings/ holding back from doing anything romantic. Despite both people in the song secretly knowing the other secretly reciprocates mutual romantic feelings)  . But they fear pursuing anything cause society says their love would be ‘wrong’. It also reminds me of s3 byler fight . Both ‘standing’ secretly in ‘heartache’. One character in the song(Mike) being mean to the singer who’s angry and wants to go home (Will). Then after that (Mike/song character) begs the singer (Will) to stay but then is mean to the singer again . So in response (Will/singer) gets annoyed and then asks ‘am I in your way? or am I the ‘best thing’ you have?(s2 byler ref). And the singer could internally question if they made a move on the Mike (/song character) would they be rejected? And like that singer ,Will, also throws Mike’s words in his face by saying he actually did think they’d be together for the rest of their lives without girlfriends (cause he may suspects Mike is full of shit?). The singer pretty much says-when it becomes impossible to ignore your romantic feelings for me - you’ll realize you’ll need me ! The song also emphasizes they’re “young” (kids) and Will/the singer  questions if their love will get  “old” , but quickly decides their love can’t get ‘old’ or die (despite Mike’s lies stating the contrary) * Also saying “no promises” could be a ref to show it’s the opposite of mileven who have the promise line.*Seems like the song is from Will’s pov.

‘Kiss off’ could also be seen through a queer lens aka Mike trying to deny he’s gay but realizing at the end of s3 it’s not a phase. And hopefully learning to accept it in s4.

 The power of Love is the 1st song that shows El desire to learn about love despite it scaring her and not really understanding her relationship with Mike. (it’s a very heteronormative idea- “I’m your man /i’m your women” so we’ll fall in love). It also shows her more questionable behavior like spying on Mike. (The later songs illustrate mileven falling apart.)

Girls just want to have fun illustrates El’s annoyance with both Hopper controlling her, and Mike (like Hopper trying to control her) and keep her away from the outside world. And just preferring hanging out with Max and not having a romantic relationship.

“ (verse 2)My father yells, "What you gonna do with your life?".Oh daddy dear, you know you're still number one.But girls, they wanna have fun... (verse 4) Some boys take a beautiful girl and hide her away from the rest of the world.I want to be the one to walks in the sun.Oh girls, they wanna have fun.Oh girls just wanna have.That's all they really want. Some fun.”

Don’t tell me lies - (El in s4) saying they’re whole relationship is a lie and she was ‘naive’ to think otherwise.But now she knows her Mike will be with someone else and their relationship was always based on a lie. And she’s ok on her own. “Every move you made before was never meant for real.Over my naivety is this how I should feel?...they'll never ever be another one.Don't tell me lies.Don't tell me lies.Looking back I realize it's always been this way.We must note what has gone and never turn away...Broken loose from indecision.Now I'm alright on my own...I guess I'm alright on my own.”

 I feel like i’ve talked the lying aspect to death but it’s an important element to their relationship.

Mike while apologizing to El at the grocery store never apologizes for lying -despite it being the cause of the breakup . He never apologized for lying cause the love is the lie- like Max said “boyfriends lie ALL THE TIME”. And it’s why the camera panned to Will when Lucas asked why Mike lied to her. And he never answers El’s question of ‘why do you lie?!’ (he just looks up silent and guilt ridden).  In s2, Mike says “i never gave up on you (to El). “ When moments earlier he says to Max “it took her just like it took Bob.” HE’S LYING AGAIN . He thought she was d*ad.Plus he also fought with Hopper in s2 (’about El’) in Will’s room too. He wasn’t actually calling Hopper the liar he was calling himself “a stupid disgusting liar”out of self hate . That scene was foreshadowing his lying to El in s3 (about his feelings for her). He blamed Hopper for his feelings for Will cause he told himself it wouldn’t have escalated if El had been around to ‘fix him’ . “I BLAME YOU! NOTHING ABOUT THIS IS OK! NOTHING ABOUT THIS IS OK. YOU STUPID DISGUSTING liar, liar, liar, liar”.starts crying.

In s3, mike (in Will’s room) did not reciprocate El’s kiss/ or say ‘i love you ‘ back  and had his eyes open while the same exact song plays that robin came out to: called ‘the first i love you’. These are the only times the song plays in s3. The ‘first i love you’ also sounds like ‘the first lie’ - that song played when jancy said they were just friends. it sounds the same cause jancy lied about it not being romantic while mileven lied by saying it was.

do u think there will be a shadow end credit scene like they did for tails ?

Yeah, sure! It’s easily up there as one of the Top 3 most plausible things to happen for the movie’s post-credits scene! I’d also put Metal Sonic as a possibility, however over the past while I’ve become fonder of the concept of us not getting a movie-version of the modern Metal, but instead a Silver or Mecha Sonic comeback, which will either be in this film or the next one. People tend to say that Shadow happening would be “too soon” in the movie universe, and I used to agree, but then I realized some things.

1. What’s between S3&K and SA2 that’s unbelievably important AND would benefit the movie universe? Sonic Adventure. However, the game’s story mainly focuses on Chaos and his relation to Knuckles’ late clan and the Emeralds. “But wouldn’t that be cool to have in the movies!” Oh my gosh- TOTALLY. But....here’s where my next point comes in.

2. We need to look at this from a more general standpoint. Who are the most recognizable Sonic characters to an audience that aren’t huge fans? Chaos is off the table, at least for a main antagonist role, so I doubt they would spend their next movie going full Adventure 1 mode (UNLESS of course they merge the two Adventure games but we’ll get to that). Metal Sonic is, again, pretty highly applicable here. However, again, let’s be realistic. Some people are insisting the next movie will be based on Sonic CD since they “skipped it”, but think about it. Sonic CD isn’t as highly regarded by fans as other games or Sonic media, let alone have most outsiders probably heard of it. Most importantly.....it sounds like a total downgrade to go from an INSANE second movie taking inspiration from multiple sources and introducing TAILS and KNUCKLES amongst other important Sonic things......to a third movie that’s only based on this One Story with characters that seem arguably less cool (NO OFFENCE TO AMY AND METAL I LOVE THEM SO DEARLY). Not saying they wouldn’t work in this universe, because there can totally be a place for them! Basically, what I’m trying to say is, a lot of things in between S3&K and SA2 probably wouldn’t be able to achieve a balance of recognizability to all audiences and an increased level of hype in comparison to the previous movie if they were to drive the entire next film with a source-accurate story (which wouldn’t even happen anyway, as seen in the upcoming sequel).

And 3. I realized that these same people are the one’s that INSISTED that “Sonic movie 2 is for Tails and Sonic movie 3 is for Knuckles” before he was confirmed for the sequel. It didn’t take a genius to piece together that they could make putting both in the same film could work perfectly fine without any clashing, let alone a new fan that’s barely been in the community for a month. If the sequel DID stick strictly to the Sonic 2 game’s source material, it would have direct-to-DVD energy and, at best, do as well as the first movie, but nothing notably better. Also, it would’ve been SO BAD on their part if they were teasing Knuckles through the Echidna in the first film WITHOUT the intention of addressing it in the next two years 😭 I don’t think they can just plonk G.U.N here and not talk about it next time.

Everyone’s gonna wanna see Super Shadow and Super Sonic in an epic final battle NEXT MOVIE (Shadow addition also may give them an excuse to utilize more human characters again, including a movie version of Maria !!), and I think it’d be the best decision to make in order to keep the movie franchise Alive and Successful.

ON A DIFFERENT, ANTI-CLIMACTIC, AND MORE-COHERENT NOTE: If there’s one thing that’s gonna be spoiled immediately when this movie releases as soon as March 30th in a million different countries, it’s who they’ve introduced in the credits. And if it’s Shadow, then BOY is that the one thing I will most likely go to the theatre knowing about.

With 2020 MERCIFULLY ending now, I thought I’d look back at the amazing cartoons, seasons and new content of old ones that came out this year that I saw! Because while 2020 was an awful year in many ways, it was easily one of animation’s best!

Starting in chronological order with Book 2 of Infinity Train! I swear, this show’s 2nd book was easily its most wholesome. MT (Lake) and Jesse were such a lovable and fun duo, plus this season pushed many boundaries for CN as a whole! While for me book 1 is still my favorite, book 2 was truly incredible!

Next up, of course, The Owl House! Easily one of the most anticipated and popular cartoons on rn! This show proved in its first season it has what it takes to be up there with the greats in the cartoon world! From story, diversity, pushing boundaries for cartoons and Disney, and so much more. It’s a cartoon with so much to give!

Then we have Ducktales. Season 3 has been a ton of fun so far. Though I can’t ignore the elephant in the room, which is that it’s ending. It really sucks given S3 was building to something IMO, needed another season to fully answer. Though I have faith DT will end well, it saddens me it’s ending so soon.

Now, while the 2nd half of it, there is no denial that season 4 of Rick and Morty was truly unbelievable. I had my worries that the show was going downhill but they sure as hell saved the best for last with that finale. The door is now open for what may come next…when season 5 is out in like 2076, lmao!

Next we have season 2 of Amphibia and OMFG, it SAVED the summer IMO. S2 of Amphibia was bigger and better than the previous, has deepened the lore to a huge extent, and even paid tribute to its predecessor! While not over yet, S2 definitely is on track to be something incredible. Amphibia is truly an underrated gem!

Rotating back to Infinity Train, if book 2 was wholesome, book 3 was dark! Maybe given it was on HBOMax instead of CN, but holy shit, this book was dark! From an ACTUAL death, I also liked that IT broke the cliché of redeeming a truly awful character. No mercy spared! I truly hope this diamond has a future still.

Next, some old faces made a comeback this year. Phineas and Ferb, the movie! Man, to say I was emotional would be an understatement. I missed them so much. The kid in me was screaming with joy while watching it. Even if it was for just one movie, I loved seeing the gang again. I loved every bit of it!

Another surprising return was Gravity Falls. While not a full on short or episode, Call Me Mabel was no doubt, the first new animated content for GF in a LONG time! I’m glad the extra mile was spent to make this originally animated and sung by Kristen Schaal herself. For a brief moment, Mabel and GF were back!!

Last but most importantly…the show I was waiting for the most! The LONGEST hiatus I’ve personally endured…but it was worth it! Hilda is back, and better than ever! Season 2 was truly a masterpiece. IMO, it’s the cherry on top of the 2020 animation cake! I loved every bit of it! It is, for me, perfection!

I do also wanna mention Close Enough. Though I didn’t really pay much attention to it, given how little came out this year, it was a great show nonetheless I’ll for sure be waiting for season 2 of it to come out.

Also, while it had no real big events in 2020, I did watch all of The Amazing World of Gumball this year, after 2 years of planning to and I loved it! It was a fun break from the story formatted cartoons I’m more so watching. It was a great deal of fun and I really hope Gumball gets its movie to finish its story!

IDK what 2021 has in store. With the above-mentioned shows, I hope we get some update on R&M S5, word about the Hilda movie, IT’s future, a satisfying end to DT, possible future P&F content and of course, I can’t wait for the next season of TOH and remainder of S2 of Amphibia.

Plus hopefully, Alex Hirsch FINALLY says something about his mysterious Netflix show. I mean, I don’t mind waiting longer, but I think at this point, having at least something to look foreword to would be nice. And who knows, if it involves him like the CMM video, maybe we’ll see another GF short.

And that is all I gotta say! I hope 2021 is a good year for animation too. Obviously, it’s not right to say all was well this year for the industry, what with COVID and the many cancellations, layoff, etc. However, with these examples, I think it’s safe to say it was still a pretty good year to love cartoons!

The Lost Special

Hello I’m a doofus who’s only just figured out why they’re keeping back so much footage for The Lost Special and why they haven’t aired it yet, so I thought I’d share my opinions here.

I talk a lot about Twin Peaks, so apologies for that, but Twin Peaks is important here. Essentially, the show was cancelled back in the 1990s and in the final episode, one of the protagonists declares “I’ll see you in twenty-five years”. People who thought there would be a 21st century comeback based off this line were thought of as deluded conspiracists, but they were proven right - 25 years later, Twin Peaks returned better than ever. Why is this relevant? Because although most of Twin Peaks: The Return was set 25 years after the original, the plot of the finale involved time travel back to the events of the original show, in which the protagonist changes the past. And for this, they needed footage. David Lynch and Mark Frost, the guys behind it, are brilliant, and although it seems they planned the 25 year thing it’s not clear of how much of s3 was planned in advance. What we do know, however, is that they deliberately took too much footage during the making of Twin Peaks and instead of getting rid of it, sat on it for 25 years, so that it could be used in The Return. They had to do this, because it couldn’t be reshot - all the actors would have aged, right? 

I don’t predict a 25 year situation for Sherlock - as a matter of fact, I don’t predict a series 5 at all. But I believe that Mark and Steven want one and have planned for one, and that all the signs pointing to extra footage (Rachel Talalay in Canada, for example) are not a secret fourth episode necessarily. If EMP theory is true - and I’ll bet my hat it is, I’ve invested enough time in it! - even in a series shot in 2022 when Sherlock wakes up Ben and Martin will have aged 8 years since Sherlock was shot. Even in series 4 they looked noticeably older than previous series, and I’m pretty sure Mofftiss realised at the time that with Ben and Martin’s schedules it would be a long old time before they could get them together again to finish the job. Hence - no matter what time period the majority of s5 is planned for, they need footage of Ben and Martin when they are still reasonably young, and that needed taking asap. It’s not a secret alternative ending to TFP at all - they’re sitting on footage for when they need it. We’ve had evidence of this before - remember the infamous Mycroft/Moriarty handshake filmed after the fall? They’re not fools. What I wouldn’t give to get my hands on that footage - the missing piece of the puzzle!!

Buffy vs Dracula is an underrated episode. The standard takes on this episode seem to range from “it’s dumb but fun” to “it’s dumb”. But I think this episode is more than that. It’s an assault on the narrative from another story. It’s main plot isn’t “Dracula comes to Sunnydale to fight Buffy”. It’s “Dracula tries to replace Buffy the Vampire Slayer”.  

Joss Whedon has been quoted saying his original vision of Buffy stems from the image of a blonde girl in an alley with a monster - but instead of getting killed by the monster, she kills it. The base inspiration for the show is this simple subversion. How much this was an actual common trope is up for debate - it’s not uncommon for horror movies to feature a spunky blonde “Final Girl” who defeats the villain at the end, but at the very least it was a subversion of the perceived trope, and iconic for that reason. The very opening scene of the show is an homage to this subversion, with the blonde girl turning out to be the dangerous vampire.

The high school years are basically a story of Buffy accepting her role as the Hero. She takes on the responsibilities of the Slayer in S1, faces the difficult choices that the Slayer must make in S2, and throws off the shackles of authority in S3. By the time we reach Buffy vs Dracula, she has fully claimed her role and incorporated into her identity. So now we see the purest example of that foundational image. Buffy isn’t just subverting the scene by seeming to be a victim only to turn around and kick the monster’s arse. She’s totally flipped the script and stepped into the role of the monster (in a good way, she’s still the Hero). She is no longer a victim who successfully fights back - she is the hunter, chasing down the terrified vampire. She has totally effectuated the show’s original vision.

Dracula threatens that. He enters from a different story - an older, more conventional story, where the vampire threatens the beautiful, innocent, helpless virgin. And he offers Buffy knowledge of her Slayer powers that she does not have. The idea he presents is a dangerous one - what if the narrative that Buffy foundationally rails against is actually right? What if it has some wisdom that Buffy must receive? Buffy has gone up against in-universe symbols of authority before - the Watchers, the Mayor’s office, the military - but this is beyond that. This is authority on a meta level. It’s the tradition of fiction built by and for straight white men, that dictates the acceptable tropes and techniques of future fiction. A self-sustaining patriarchy of the pen. 

Buffy’s immediate reaction is to dismiss Dracula and the narrative tropes he represents as irrelevant - posturing crap, like the fanboys calling themselves Lestat. She sarcastically asks him if he knows what a Slayer is - i.e. if he knows what show he’s in. His simple response - “Do you?” - is effectively disarming. Perhaps they are in one of Dracula’s movies now. Dracula and the Slayer are both held up as icons of vampire fiction, each having heard of the other’s legend. The question posed by the episode is whether the icon of Dracula is more powerful than the icon of Buffy.

This episode is scrapping it out with The Zeppo as possibly the most meta episode of the series. Throughout, the characters are crazy aware of their own narrative roles. Willow refers to the group as the sidekicks in the opening scene. Xander fights back against his assigned role at the Renfield (aka. The Butt Moneky) of this story. Giles seems aware that the necessity of his role as a mentor is rapidly declining. Buffy’s prevents Dracula’s post-climax comeback explicitly thanks to Buffy having seen his movies. (This also doubles as another S1 callback, given how much that season loved the sequel tease ending). There is an intentional unreality to the proceedings; an awareness of the fictional nature of the show that invites us to see Dracula not as a character, but as a narrative cipher; an image reflecting another kind of story. Giles even helpfully tells us that the key to defeating him is separating fact from fiction - i.e. understanding and learning to control the narrative around them.

From the moment he enters the frame, Dracula does not fit. With his black cloak and heavy white makeup, he is absurd pretentiousness next to Xander’s hawaiin shirt and mocha slushie. He comes with a set of powers totally contradictory to this universe. It’s handwaved away as “showy [romani traveller] stuff” by Spike, but the obvious usefulness of these powers makes that handwave insufficient. Rather, it feels like Dracula’s presence is warping the rules of this world. He has stepped in from another fictional universe to bend the logic of this one. Buffy starts to lose control of her own show as Dracula’s power rises. This is a character whose narrative gravity is so strong he can make a “great honking castle” spontaneously appear in Sunnydale. 

The switch of power comes in the scene where Dracula enters Buffy’s bedroom. It is eventually explained that Joyce invited him in earlier, but it doesn’t even feel strange at first that he enters without an invitation - it’s just another way that Dracula has distorted the narrative. This scene is intimate and disturbing, because it’s not a scene from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It’s a scene from Nosferatu. It’s the classic image of the vampire coming in through the window to feed on the young woman. Buffy is unable to fight Dracula because she has lost control over her own story, and it is becoming Dracula’s.

The interesting part is that this isn’t just Buffy being consumed by the Dracula story because he’s just that more powerful an icon than her. There’s an ambiguously voluntary aspect to it. Buffy wants information, to understand her own power better. She lets herself become enthralled to get what she needs from this traditional narrative. But that’s a dangerous slope - in these older narratives, every woman was a victim, so by metaphorically inviting this story in, she lessens her own power.

She never completely relents it though. There is an interestingly gendered dynamic here. Initially, all the girls (sans Tara) are kind of enamoured with Dracula’s intrigue and apparent sex appeal, while the boys are universally unimpressed and dismissive of him. But as the story goes on, it’s only male characters who surrender entirely to the new narrative. Xander’s will is bent and he completely becomes the Renfield of the story. Gile’s is rendered completely useless by the three wives. Perhaps because these stories traditionally center men, it is men who more easily relinquish control to it.

Buffy arrives at Dracula’s Big Honking Castle, and tries to flip the script back on Dracula, but fails at first. She has let him in and so his narrative gravity is stronger. He offers his blood - his life, his knowledge, his valuable wisdom - to her, and tells her to “find her nature”. He wants her to relent totally to his narrative. What Dracula doesn’t realise is that these are contradictory. He thinks that Buffy is a character in a Dracula story, where she can only be a victim seduced into darkness. But Buffy’s nature, her fundamental essence, means the fundamental essence of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. And so we go back to that foundational image - that trope subversion on which Buffy is built. The flashes Buffy sees - the first Slayer, the vampire running through the graveyard - these all appear in the opening titles. It’s as if Buffy, when asked to see her nature, sees the opening titles of her own show. 

She quips - “That was gross” - and suddenly the script is flipped. Buffy has reclaimed the fundamental nature of the show, and now Dracula is a character in a Buffy story again. She literally uses the iconography of Dracula - the flaming torches on the castle wall - against him. He tries to use his Dracula powers again, but Buffy has reclaimed the narrative, so they don’t work. She demonstrates that she understands his story better than he understood hers, and so can use that power to defeat him. Buffy beats Dracula because Buffy the Vampire Slayer beats Dracula.

Have you ever done a ranking list of your favourite episodes?

not really , the thing with me is that i never rewatch tv shows . i binge through them once and then just watch few scenes in yt , but never rewatch any of it even if it was one of my favourite show. Glee is the only exception , though i really only watch very few eps from the earlier seasons and rewatched s5-s6 twice , though i’d skipped 100, new directions and the wedding during both my rewatches. there are eps like new new york and wonderful that i watch time to time as comfort eps playing in the background . from s3, first time and big brother are the only eps i have rewatched 

i’d only watched glee for the first time last year , so like it’s not been that long to warrant a rewatch , but since i’d binged most of it in one stretch ( had taken a one month break b/w s3ep7 and ep8 because of how much i was getting tired of the shitty storylines of s3 , hence it being my least fave ) i forgot a lot of the non klaine stuff.

but i’ll try to rank the eps , just know that i’m very biased to klaine/kurt/blaine storylines . and the seasons too are ranked in the order i like them

5. original song : don’t ask me what happened besides klaine in this because i truly don’t remember . but the klaine parts are pure heavenly. s2 klaine is something i missed a lot and didn’t appreciate enough during my first watch but rewatching some klaine centric eps has made me appreciate their friendship a lot more. even the stuff leading upto the kiss is fantastic , it’s also an ep that shows how rachel and blaine can get similar but how they react to criticisms and how blaine tries to include everyone when pointed out unlike making a fit out of it with rachel is where they diverge and makes these incredibly different personalities .and the kiss was just to good and sparks were flying everywhere and it is something that glee could never recreate with any other couple. and “ reminds you of your mom’s funeral doesn’t it “” the casket was bigger but yes “ just proves that they are equally dumbasses that fit each other so well

4. wonder-ful : this is just pure comfort ep. it’s so bright and upbeat in the middle of the previous dark eps. so much kurt and klaine . a bit more focus on kurt’s mental health issues, which will later be forgotten but it’s good over here. supportive blaine as always just highlighting how much they understand each other. a lot of burt which is always a plus . a very good mercedes plotline which should’ve been given more time but still is one of the better ones she gets.just seeing how light and loving kurt turns once burt is finally in the safe zone. and ‘you get kinda cute when you get nervous’ and ‘with you in it a wondeful life’ and whatever homoerotic stuff that is going on b/w rachel and cassie

3. Loser like me : the pure angst . i love storylines where they hit the rock bottom from such a happy place and have to find their way to the top by leaning in on each other and supporting each other. great klaine scenes, s5b we where pushed to believe that kurt had it all together, but we finally got to see kurt being an absolute mess and realizing how he contributed to their relationship not working out instead of pitting it all on s4 cheating . confident got help all by himself in a better position blaine , rachel finally getting a storyline that’s interesting and makes her one to root for . This ep always gives me the chills and makes me excited for the rest of the season

2. Tested : It’s genuinely one of the funniest eps ever. amazing rachcedes moment . the guys presenting one of my fave family dynamics in the show. great samcedes and klaine plotline . and i love the way liab is shot , such a well choreographed performance and it really looks like chris and darren had so much fun doing it.

1. New new york : this ep is the perfect mixture of fluff , comedy and angst. And on top of that we get never tried before combination of dynamics like rachel and artie as well as our favourite dynamics like klaine, blam, kelliot . also , out of all the klaine plotlines, this feels to me the most realistic one and really shows how much they want to work out their highschool relationship into an adult setting but they’re still young clueless inexperienced couple who doesn’t really know what they’re doing but still trying to work it out the way they think is the best one to protect their relationship , showing how much they care for each other as we enter into the crazy hard parts of their relationship. also , to see these whole set of highschool friends trying to navigate their way into this busy adult life is so fun to watch .

Tower of God Returns 2021.05.16

Hello everyone, it's been a while. A little bit earlier than expected, Tower of God has come back. It's good to see you all again. ^^

Actually, I was thinking of starting working around the end of June and come back after that. Hmm... To tell you to truth, my body hasn't fully recovered like I wanted it to, but as I was going through tests in various fields and finding more problems, I realised that full recovery may be too far away, and much more unrealistic than I thought.

If this is going to be a problem as long as I continue Tower of God anyway, and if it is going to be impossible to fully recover from, I thought it’d be better if I start getting ready for my comeback sooner... haha It's weird, I know. Neither me nor those around me understand how that conclusion came to be, but anyway, I came back earlier than anticipated.

Some of the chapters I made earlier were too old so I redrew those, and there were also things I need to get ready for the come back, also starting work on the hard copies again, and on top of that, the preview (Korean fastpass) quota increased from 3 to 4 chapters, so I had to account for those as well. As such, since April or so, it’s been extremely hectic and busy.  Now you’re probably wondering why I'm whining so much right after coming out of a year long hiatus, but this blog's entire point has always been me whining and complaining things that I can't on webtoon. Please understand. (since when...) 

Actually, setting aside all those personal problems, when you are an author on hiatus, you always have a sense of feeling pent up in your heart, but when you start updating the series, you’ll also get a lot of difficulties doing so. It's difficult. As everything is changing around us in these times, I only have the utmost respect for my many peers, seniors, and juniors who draw webtoons.

Although I prepared a lot of different things, reducing downtime and trying to come back as soon as possible, I feel so sorry for you readers who’ve been waiting for such a long time. The fruits of my efforts may or may not be to your liking. The comic may no longer be the same as it was 10 years ago, and sometimes rather than going for the best I just want to draw a comic, but as an author, I just want to you guys to enjoy it after a long wait. That's what I think. Well, I can only be so greedy. But hardest thing about making a fun comic... it’s difficult for the author.

Anyway, I wrote another long post after my comeback. hahaha.

From now on, there’s a high chance I might not be able to write blog reviews every week like before. I’m thinking about making simple comments or posts on my other social media accounts. It's unfortunate, but due to multiple circumstances at play I think it's best that I reduce the channels I'm active on and focus on my work. I'll let you know once I’ve made the decision. ^^

Well then... I kept you guys waiting for a long time, but I’ll shamelessly ask you guys to enjoy my work once more  I’ll stop writing now. Have a good night, and I'll see you with the next week's chapter.

So I posted...a lot last year. It’s very hard to narrow it down, especially as one of my five is going to be an edit rather than a fic. But I’m gonna try! These aren’t in order of which is my absolute favorite because that would be impossible haha.

1. Steve Harrington - The Comeback Kid gifset

It’s the first time I tried out blending. And the first time I tried to make an edit with a song that I felt really fit a specific character. Every time I listen to The Comeback Kid, I picture Steve and all the things he’s been through and the way he keeps getting up, so it seemed perfect! And I’m just really proud of how this turned out when I finished it!

2. if we could start again - post-S2, pre-Stoncy hurt/comfort fic

I can’t even explain why I love this so much but it’s been one of my favorites since I posted it. Kind of dipping my toes into the angst pool again after basically writing nothing but fluff all year. While also still getting that nice hurt/comfort in there! I love Season 2 of the show and love seeing what might have happened when everyone met back up at the Byers’, so it was really fun getting to write my own version of it!

3. The Safety of Your Arms - post-S3, pre-Stoncy hurt/comfort fic

Hmm, I am perhaps sensing a trend...This is another one that’s been a fave since I posted it. I go back to reread it whenever I need some good ‘ol Steve-centric hurt/comfort haha. This is one where I had little moments in my head that didn’t get written into the work but are still there (at least, I think they still kind of show through) and idk. It’s the only time I’ve ever actually managed that!

4. the devil on my shoulder - The Babysitter (McG), darkish manipulation fic?

Not the kind of fic anyone’s following me for, but one that I am super proud of anyway. I’m still stoked that it’s gotten more than one comment when I expected only the prompter would read it when it was posted. I didn’t think I was even going to end up writing for the prompt because I hadn’t gotten an idea the whole month. But one morning I decided to try to write snippets of moments that would lead to the ending I wanted and I got the whole fic written in half a day. It’s a little weird, it’s a little dark, the relationships are unhealthy, and I love every word of it.

5. to hold you in my arms - post-S3, pre-Stoncy hurt/comfort fic

HUH THAT TREND CONTINUES...See, the thing is, I’m not great at get together fics so I just write a bunch of pre-relationship fics instead! This one was so nice to write. The prompt I wrote it for just spoke to me, like, right away. I love the way it all turned out. I feel like it’s one of my better pieces, tbh, especially with the emotions? Which I feel like I struggle with a lot in my writing. This one wasn’t necessarily easy but it was a delight to write and I like to reread it when I need a pick me up. :)

Robin Hood BBC:

Favorite character: Guy of Gisborne (who else? I blame Richard Armitage, Sarah Kennedy on radio 2 for planting the idea in my head, and my easily swayed 12 year old self. But also he's a good fucking character lol)

Least favourite character: uhhh as a *character* probably Robin. Literally such an arrogant piece of shit who rarely acknowledges his own privilege (when it comes to his gang and the fact that he's a noble and they're...not) or his own faults. And we're still meant to see him as the ultimate good guy/hero. Pass.

5 favourite ships:

- Guy/Marian (I want to be clear though, this is one of those ships where the character dynamic is absolutely fascinating and a joy to watch, but I honestly don't think it actually becoming canon would be a) a good story or b) good for either of them)

- Guy/Allan (just. I fucking love how Allan gives no shits and treats Guy like a normal fucking human. He calls him Giz! And that dream Guy has about both Marian AND Allan massaging his shoulders while sweet talking him...I'm just saying. Anyway as opposed to Guy/Marian I actually think these two are good for each other and I wish their dynamic had been explored more, especially when Guy joins the outlaws in s3 but it's not explored *at all*)

- Marian/friendship with any female character. Fucking seriously. Let her vibe with Djaq (although ig I hc Djaq as nb. Any non-male character then) and bitch about the boys. PLEASE. She needs it.)

- Marian/Allan friendship (I'm realising doing this that I care far more about the friendships in this show than the romantic relationships. But seriously, these two people are in exactly the same position in opposite sides ie spies for the various teams, and that's fascinating, especially as Allan still protects Marian/has her back after he's found out. They probably kind of mildly dislike each other at first but it's bc they see a lot of their worst selves in each other. But honestly together these two can rule the world with banter and pure deviousness)

- Much/literally anyone who respects and values him as a person I'm begging you pleassssee (seriously, he gets this for like half an episode with Eve, which is lovely, but then it's back to being the butt of the Gang's jokes and Robin's punching bag/servant/""best friend"". And when Much wants any kind of display of friendship and affection from Robin, Robin makes fun of it and acts like it's such a chore. Ugh.)

Character I find most attractive: Guy of Gisborne started off my lifelong Richard Armitage obsession so it can't be anyone else. That is a beautiful, beautiful man. Marian is also gorgeous.

Character I would marry: Djaq or Much

Character I would be best friends with: literally all of Team Castle - Guy bc he badly needs /someone/ to be his friend (although I doubt he'd let me), Allan bc he'd be hilarious, Marian bc we could bitch about everyone and just have some good times. Ultimately Allan is probably the kind of person I'd be most likely to befriend irl.

A random thought: @Robin King Richard sucks bro and when he dies Prince John is gonna be king anyway, monarchy as a concept sucks anyway, consider dismantling it instead of putting all your faith in things getting better when the king returns

An unpopular opinion: I actually don't hate s3 the way much of the fandom seems to? Yes it was a trainwreck (hello? Have you watched this show? The whole thing is a trainwreck) and I hate that Marian died but I do think it went some interesting places we hadn't been before, especially re Guy (who lbr is the character I care most about). Don't get me wrong, it didn't do it very well, but I rewatch it more than s1.

My canon OTP:....uhhhhhh....does Guy/Marian count?? They're not really an OTP anymore though (although they used to be when I was like. 13.) They just have a cool dynamic.

My non-canon OTP: Guy/Allan ig

Most badass character: Marian, 100%. Especially s1 Marian. Icon. Queen of guerrilla fighting and sassy comebacks and saying fuck you to men.

Most epic villain: I guess the Sheriff? Idk about epic but he is the epitome of cartoonishly evil, which is fun to watch. Love to hate him.

Pairing I am not a fan of: Robin/Marian 🤢🤢🤢 (not saying it's bad if you ship it lmao, Robin is kind of a dick but it's more I can't stand how unbearably cheesy it is)

Character I feel the writers screwed up: What character DIDN'T they screw up? But I feel like they screwed over Isabella the worst. They made her seem unreasonably evil when her anger was entirely 100% valid and fair.

Favourite friendship: None of the friendships I actually enjoy were written to their full potential. But I guess Guy and Allan?

Character I most identify with: Allan or Djaq

Character I wish I could be: wouldn't want to be in her situation but would love to be as badass as Maz

Guy of Gisborne:

How I feel about this character: my terrible overdramatic emo son. Wish he could have had a proper redemption arc without killing Marian.

Any/all people I ship romantically with this character: Marian and Allan. And I guess Meg for the brief moment in time where that was a thing.

My favourite non-romantic relationship for this character: I know we only get a hint of it (and she dies) but I love Guy's relationship with Ghislaine. I just feel like they had such a loving relationship and then it all went to hell :( I also kind of think both Guy/Marian and Guy/Allan might work better/be more interesting as friendships

My unpopular opinion about this character: tbh in this fandom even liking him is an unpopular opinion to a lot of people 😂 I think if you took away the sheriff, he'd treat Marian better than Robin treats her (I mean, in some ways he already does but also like...he burns her house down soooo)

One thing I wish had happened with this character in canon: oh boy so many things. But the two places my mind goes most often are 1. Escaping the castle (with Allan and/or Marian), probably after Treasure of the Nation (ie my favourite RH episode of all time) and either joining the gang (equal parts hilarious and angsty) or starting a life somewhere new, away from all this bullshit and 2. Just more gang shenanigans after he joins them in s3. We had some, which was great, but I would have love to see more, to see him grudgingly becoming the weird ex villain friend and then actually building relationships with some of the gang

Favourite friendship: Allan

My crossover ship: Guy + therapy (also I'm sure I've thought about this before but I really can't think of a good answer). Maybe Eleanor Shellstrop (as friends)? I feel like that would be a fun dynamic to explore.

SHOW ARYA STARK VS BOOK ARYA STARK

Book Arya: She is frequently compared with Lyanna Stark, Ned said Arya in first book that she rides horses as a northern lady, like Lyanna used to do and that she looks like her and acts like her.

Show Arya: Lyanna and Arya resemblances is never mentioned but the actress who played Lyanna looks like Maisie a Lot

Show: Arya was in love with Gendry in S2-S3 (according to Maisie Williams) but they didn’t show us signs of this, just the scene when Gendry is shirtless in Harrenhal.

Book: We don’t know if Arya is in love with Gendry in books but she is confused about he feelings for him because she is too young to understand it, but we can read in books how she looks at Gendry in that way:

"She climbed to the roof and peeked down. Gendry was beating out a breastplate. When he worked, nothing existed for him but metal, bellows, fire. The hammer was like part of his arm. She watched the play of muscles in his chest and listened to the steel music he made. He’s strong, she thought.”

And she is jealous about Gendry:

Then maybe I’ll go find that black-haired girl and ring her bell for her.”

“But…”

“I said, go away. M’lady.”

Arya whirled and left him there. A stupid bullheaded bastard boy, that’s all he is. He could ring all the bells he wanted, it was nothing to her.

And later in another chapter he remember him about that:

"My father had honor," she said angrily. "And we weren’t talking to you anyway. Why don't you go back to Stoney Sept and ring that girl's stupid bells?"

Yep she thinked about that a lot apparently

She also thinks in a romantic way about Gendry. She said in a chapter think about Gendry like that is something Sansa would dream in her songs wich are romantic songs:

..she could ride with Gendry and be an outlaw, like Wenda the White Fawn in the songs. But that was just stupid, like something Sansa might dream

Show: Arya loves Jon Snow more than anyone but we can only see that in season 1, 5 (when she didn’t throw needle to the water) and little season 8

Book: Arya thinks in Jon every time, he is the one she looks for After her father’s death:

Jon wouldn’t care who I killed or whether I brushed my hair . . . “Jon looks like me, even though he’s bastard-born. He used to muss my hair and call me ‘little sister.’” Arya missed Jon most of all. Just saying his name made her sad.

She would have given anything if Jon had been here to call her “little sister” and muss her hair.

She yearned to see her mother again, and Robb and Bran and Rickon . . . but it was Jon Snow she thought of most. Show: Arya serves as a cupbearer to Tywin Lannister after he saves her and Gendry, wich is a great change actually in show.

Book: Boltons mens take Harrenhal from Lannister, Lord Roose Bolton arrives to take charge of the castle. Arya, now calls herself "Nymeria", or "Nan" for short, and is named Roose's cupbearer for her role in the freeing of the prisoners. She inadvertently meets Elmar Frey, the squire she would have to marry under Robb's agreement with the Freys, though they remain unknown to each other.

Show: The Brotherhood finds Arya, Gendry and Hotpie and their plan is let her immediately with her mother and brother.

Book: In books TB takes more time before takes Arya with her family, they even stop in hostals and brothels, and they make Arya wear a dress that’s why Gendry mess with Arya saying her she looks like propped girl and a lady.

Show: In tv show Melissandre captured Gendry first and then The Hound kidnnaped Arya.

Books: In books Arya have a little fight with Gendry and then she runs away from him in that moment The Hound captures Arya and the last thing she heard is Gendry screaming her name.

Show: Arya never saw Catelyn’s body after red wedding, only Robbs.

Book: Arya sees her mom and Robbs bodies after red wedding, but Catelyn’s no as her own, Arya is a warg in books like Brann and she wargs into Nymeria to take out of the river Catelyns body, then Beric Dondarrion finds Catelyn and resurrected her with a kiss.

Show: In books Arya meets Brienne of Tarth and she have a fight with The Hound for Arya.

Books: Arya never meets Brienne in books.

Show: Arya reunites with Jaquen in the House of black and white

Book: Arya never see Jaqen again, she trains with other faceless man in braavos known as Kindly Man and the Waif, who accept her in.

Show: Arya kills Ser Meryn Trant in braavos, she also pass herself as an oyster saleswoman and trains hard with the waif.

Book: Arya learns to lie from the waif, she also pass her self as “Cat of the canals” a street urchin, to learn secrets and report them to the kindly man. She also begins learning the art of lying from the waif. During this time, she kills a deserter from the Night's Watch named Dareon, and she briefly meets Samwell Tarly, a friend of her half brother Jon Snow, though they do not introduce themselves to each other. After these incidents, she accepts milk meant for "Arya". When she wakes the next morning, she is blind.

Show: Arya gets blind and stay in the street as a homeless girl, she also trains with the waif and is repeatedly abbused and punched by her, she receives her sigth again after she drinks waters from the water well Jaqen gives her.

Book: Arya remains blind and in the service of the House of Black and White in Braavos. The blindness is induced by the milk she drinks every night. She continues to dream through the eyes of her direwolf, Nymeria, but speaks of it to no one. She still struggles with leaving her identity as Arya Stark behind. While she is blind, Arya wears the guise of "Beth", a beggar girl. She wanders the streets of Braavos, begging for money and listening for bits and pieces of information. She becomes better at lying and detecting the lies of others.

Arya receives her sight again after she is able to identify the kindly man and hit him with a stick when he sneaks up on her. It is implied, however, that she does not simply sense his presence (as he assumes) but sees him through the eyes of a cat hiding in the rafters.

Show: We don’t know what Arya does in her freetime in braavos we only see her training and training.

Books: In books we can know more about Arya, she pass her time warging cats also with the company of braavos courtesans the most seductive woman in Essos, so Arya learns a lot from them, the last chapter we read about her she seduced a man so we start to see Arya’s grow.

Show: Sansa is the one who marries Ramsay Bolton.

Books: In books is Jeyne Poole the one who marriea Ramsay, but they said all the north the girl is Arya Stark, that’s why Jon is murdered in booka because he break his votes to rescue “Arya”.

SO

Arya is gonna comeback to Westeros like in the books, the last we know from her is that she killed a man who was not ordered by the god of death so is possible we would see same as the show, the waif trying to kill her, she kills the waif and come back to Westeros.

Arya is very different in books than show, I think we are gonna see an Arya really different than the girl she used to be but not as cold as the show, Arya in books is still a social girl, she also learns a lot with braavos people and talks braavosi.

Theories:

She is gonna meet again Lady Stonehert because she is the one who help in her resurrection, I think at first she is gonna team up with her to kill the freys and also meet Gendry again (bc he is with LS) but then she will have to kill her, because she’s gonna realize she is cruel and only live for revenge (that’s gonna help in her arc about revenge and how bad it is) so she’s gonna save her mom from that misery.

Shes gonna go to north with the brotherhood and Gendry to look for Jon, after she heard “Arya Stark married Ramsay Bolton”

And I don’t know guys the history in books is so different idk what’s gonna happen, im very sure we are gonna see a romance between Arya and Gendry, a reunion with Lady Stoneheart and she fighting in the long night, I don’t think she kills the Knight King theres also no NK in books, so we are all Jon Snow, we don’t know nothing.

Dear, 13 Reasons Why.

I never agreed with what Monty did to Tyler, nor do I forgive him for that happening. However, Monty never had the help, or support he deserved/needed growing up in the abusive and self-hated product he was made into. When he assaulted Tyler he snapped. He mentally snapped, as he blamed Tyler for ruining everything. (Just like Tyler snapped after all, he had a plan and a gun to kill several students at Liberty. Yes some were bullies but most were innocent) They share that in common. They both snapped and planned/followed through with things that are unforgivable. We see Monty also tell Alex later in s2 that the only thing he has was his team and Bryce and that was it. He was so beaten and broken, honestly living in a world nobody should have too. We finally are able to see Monty get in touch with his more sensitive side. (Which was my favorite thing about S3). Yes, the altercation between Winston and him wasn’t right either, however, it was not only new but scary for Monty. But.. later when Winston told Monty that he can be whatever he wants to be and Monty respond: “no. I can’t” in tears, you can see the pain and regret in his eyes. It really shows how much he’s been fighting and how much this kid has gonr through (off screen). Hes terrified for his life to be who he wants to be. He wanted to change, however it was not easy. Not to mention when his dad calls him a f***t, and then spits in his face. It clears a lot up. No parent should EVER treat their child like that. Monty wanted acceptance for his sexuality not his actions. It makes sense where Montys violence and overall behavior came from, but he was more broken then we actually know. It was heart breaking, he wanted to change and he started too by reapproaching Winston, apologizing to him (which you could tell that he really wanted to fix things by the way he said; I ain’t going to do anything and that he was sorry) his voice cracked, because he was trying to do the right thing for once, and by finally clarifying that he maybe in fact gay to his father (which was where we seen Monty literally breakdown..) He was taking steps to change, however, you have remember that he’s been the violently abused unstable and lonesome guy his whole life, and that he wanted better for himself. Which is why he was different with Winston, because Winston was the first person to comfort Monty and to tell him he can be whatever he wants to be. Winston seemed to be what Monty needed, and he really shed some light on Monty for a better future. Because he felt that Winston was his safe haven. His voice and his emotions during that brief intimate scene between the two broke my heart.. Monty deserved a chance, and yes Monty deserved better. When the deputy tells Ani that he died in his jail cell, I don’t buy it. It’s a cover up. They made Monty the main antagonist in season 2 (which I don’t agree with), but in season 3 they finally show the side to Monty that we’ve been waiting for not to mention they also develop a well dialogue between him and Winston. They wouldn’t have a fate like that for a character they put so much content into. There is so much more potential there for him. So...I hope Monty is back in Season 4 and serving some time for his assault. I hope that we continue to see another side of Monty, that was shown briefly in Season 3. Continue with Winston and Monty’s relationship, have Monty come forward to make amends with the rest of his Liberty High classmates, sincerely apologize to Tyler for what he did, finally stand up to his abusive father, and to get the help he deserved. You can do better with his character. (It’s possible because by a specific logic we never see a body, and that means they intended a cliff hanger.. so it’s possible for a comeback). Psychologically Monty is broken, and don’t forget he too is a victim of abuse and deserves to be heard.

If you have no love, no support, are a victim of abuse, feel trapped in your own mind full of self hatred, and you are broken.. I wish this upon no one. Please reach out and seek the help you deserve. Its ok to ask.

- This is my personal opinion. I seen that Monty wanted to change, and yes I truly do believe his own abuse and self hate for his reasoning behind his breaking point. But they truly ruined the potential Monty had, and I honestly felt sad for him by watching season 3. Monty deserved better.
