I had a dream with Vasco and Machete last night, I don't remember all details, but I do remember people talking about Machete being some sort of fallen angel or something. I even saw flashes of his angelic form in between, I'll have to draw those when I get back home. It was both scary and delightful.

Because of that dream I had (mentioned in this post), I headcanon that og!Cale's only fear that applies to himself are teachers. All his other fears implies other people being the one who suffers, but he's deeply scared of teachers.

He's teacher-phobic like some people are clown-phobic and like some little animals are afraid of humans. (Or I to spiders)

In my mind, that's the actual reason he abandoned his studies. He had a whole conversation prepared to convince his father that he could do self-study and have Ron or Hans test him every some months. He was so ready to have to present a whole list of arguments when he ditched his classes.

Instead, Deruth just agreed to it almost immediately. Cale was so shocked that he forgot to tell him about the self-study part.

A few days later, he heard some people talk about how "the young master's behaviour got worse and worse" and how "he refused to have any education at all". Then they mentioned how Bassen was so dedicated in comparison.

So he decided that this misunderstanding was quite useful and let it be.

Anyways, I headcanon this so strongly that sometimes I forget it's not canon.

Everytime I read a highschool AU where og!Cale is skipping classes, I'm like "yeah, I would do that too if I were him". Then I remember that that's not canon, not even in the fic. He's just keeping with his "trashy" persona.

(Although, if the fic doesn't contradict it, sometimes I keep going with my reason instead).

What I love about Hellboy and Abe Sapien's dynamic in the comics is that, if you came into this blind, you'd expect Abe to be the voice of reason or the straight man to Hellboy's impulsive and hotheaded personality. But no, Abe is more often than not the crazy one. Hellboy would deal with fighting evil monsters and bad guys by just sighing and getting it over with, while Abe is going rabid over tearing the creature apart when he does get into a fight. Hellboy acts like it's a 9-to-5 job and will reasonably talk things out with a guy that had nearly killed him before, Abe acts like a madman in a slaughter house and his first instinct is to shoot first kill second and ask third. They're both insane, but on completely different levels.

Ok so last week I saw this fanart of the Corinthian as a cat and well, I tagged it with basically 'what if Dream turned him into a cat at the convention' and then saw @the-everqueen's tags...so here is a fic concept because I just had to expand on it:

Still has his glasses (‘for comfort’ Dream says as the Corinthian hisses at the insinuation he requires soothing), and it’s a mystery how they stay on (Endless magic can be remarkably similar in properties to super glue?)

‘cats are unable to wield knives, Lucienne’ – a rebuttal to there being no logic behind Dream's decision, made in a conversation that definitely happens at some point

The Corinthian spends a lot of time trying to claw Dream’s eyes out and/or bite him, only to be absently redirected with an ease that drives him mad

Even if the Corinthian did manage to escape back to the Waking World, he'd still have to find a way to change back. In the meantime he's far more likely to be spotted by some random human who sees a cat wandering around all alone and decides the best course of action is to scoop him up and take him home

I just woke up from a dream that Atsushi and Akutagawa were at the grocery store and bumped into each other so they thought it'd be alright to shop together but they fought over anything like Atsushi got rice and Akutagawa said "Rice?
