What does seeing repeating numbers mean?

“Why am I seeing angel numbers 11:11, 222, 333, 444, 555 frequently? Is there any meaning to see these numbers?”

“I see these angel numbers constantly every single day all the time. What is they trying to tell me exactly. Do you know???”

The fact that one is seeing so many 'angel' numbers at the same time does not mean that one is deeply connected to one's 'spirit guides' or 'angels', or such beings or entities are communicating with one frequently.

Distorted knowledge suggests that these numbers could be guiding or comforting messages from the universe, or it's the universe’s way of confirming that one is on a path of spiritual enlightenment and/or awakening. These are simply lies though.

One — should not trust in such (hu)manmade concepts — aka “signs from the universe” and all that fancy jazz.

'Angels' and 'spirit guides' don't send “signs” to human beings.

The Infinite Intelligence/Creator/Creation doesn't work like this. Man, however, likes comfort, shortcuts, minimal effort, flattery, and a very little or no responsibility.

One must remember that numerology/angel numbers/spirit guides/twin flames/soul mates/spirituality/time/religions/nonduality/higher-self/consciousness/enlightenment/law of attraction/law of assumption/starseeds etc., etc., etc., — are human made concepts i.e., labels, which built-up from words, words which create our false reality;

but most importantly: one can, and thus, must be able to use their level and ability of awareness/discernment, and with that, a higher frequency vibrational field, — aka 'angels' or 'spirit guides' — GOODness never interferes.

One's higher frequency awareness field = one's SOUL (aka, the higher-self), however, is able to do so:

the SOUL/one's core/True Self is a pure, loving awareness field so, can guide one, "raise" the alarm, or sooth/balance out anxiety/fear with wisdom = intelligence and love.

The SOUL projects its awareness into multiple beings under numerous avatars, (multiple yous in parallel lives — there might be several hundred entities projected by your soul) across multiple dimensions and lives; — therefore, when one's connected to their SOUL, one is actually guided/advised by themselves based on profound insights from a higher level awareness.

A higher/greater level of awareness is when one is able to access to their accumulated knowledge/wisdom built-up over 'time'.

It's often called an “altered state” — which is a result of fine-tuned energy management that can be manifested through a purified body, including a purified mind and heart.

The crutch you never needed.

Many can experience — either via their gift or devoted practice — hearing the “chatter” of different creatures in the quantum, aka akashic reading. Now, whether one 'hears' the whispers of higher beings such as angels, or deceased entities, or trickster spirits that is depending on one's awareness level.

There are many entities specifically that are connected with one throughout the field of cognitive/earth matrix. There are literally tens of thousands of these entities that are connected simultaneously with human beings.

Released memory materials of variously evolved entities and beings are hardly genuine/REAL,* thus not beneficial to living beings coping in the 3D material awareness. Some “experts” may say otherwise; it doesn't make it true, though.

*Memory fields/frequency energy units are contaminated by one's mind's fear, the cognitive, conditioning, and biases; even if one has lost their body in this realm, i.e., died, even if that happened a very long time ago; these memory units/data in frequency form still linger on and thus are available and 'readable' as energetic records in the quantum/akashic fields.

How Psychics, Mediums, Clairvoyants, Tarot readers etc., actually choose to interpret their messages and experiences depends entirely on their level of development, i.e., the evolvement of their souls, their perceptional awareness, background and upbringing, and filters: fears, biases and existing beliefs.

For instance, seeing the Akashic fields as a library: this visual arises in one who values education, or is a lifelong learner, or loves reading and/or books, or the love of books was modelled by their family, or by someone who they were looked up to, or their SOUL/BEING has a history in the educational, academic, or literary fields, etc., etc.

The mind creates familiarity, a cognitive shorthand to make processing easier for the experience of an inner inquiry.

Similarly, in case of NDEs — the mind/ego focuses on one's own survival and is able to hide in the subconscious, therefore, experiences will be filtered: softened or modulated by the ego/mind to avoid feelings of inconvenience/pain/embarrassment/shame, but accumulate pleasure and enhancement instead.

Numerous NDEs accounts describe Jesus as the divine figure they met.

Why?

Because:

a., it's a deeply ingrained belief in one that stems from family, tribal, community, cultural values — it is not necessary for one to be a believer/Christian “to meet Jesus” during an NDE. One can even see/carry themselves as an atheist or can be indifferent towards religions ➛ ego is in subconscious, too.

b., the person has a history, parallel or previous lives, where they follow/followed, or knew/was introduced to/got familiar with/affected by Christianity/the story of Jesus.

“Padded” knowledge, (aka shortcuts/“help”/“guidance”) — advisory activity from so called 'angels' and 'spirit guides' either via business offerings or other scheme, is just a deliberate way to control another individual because, clarity on one's path, or guidance on one's purpose/mission/gifts are never made known/revealed to a third party (such as mediums or intuitive readers) only to the one, (who's the seeker), — each being is unique (as in unique in unimportant ways for the false/illusory-self/ego) on their unique path, and each being is a channel as Source's energy flows through all of us.

By default/design, information on one's fate and destiny always remains confidential. One's being is an enigma to another, therefore, no one has the truth or deep insights about another being's dealings.

However, as the data of personal experiences can relate to more than one, (relatability + energetic connectedness), with concepts such as 'angel numbers' and 'spirit guides', or 'channeled messages' it's easy for an observant pattern reader to manipulate and exploit the fearful and gullible.

On another note, posing as an interpreter for “spirits” can get quite a bit of attention/idolization/worship and pride for one('s ego).

A spiritual “help/advice/guidance” received from another one hinders the seeker from developing a greater level of perceptional awareness and discernment (so one will remain caught up in karma); one, who takes counsel or seeks reassurance either from soothsayers, channellers, card readers, or discarnated spirits or other various entities of the quantum field, — dismisses their own abilities.

By turning to a 'spiritual mediator,' or a 'spiritual advisor', or a discarnated entity/spirit in the 'external,' — one ultimately rejects her/himself, thus the SELF/I AM/REAL.

The IS-ness, aka I AM/ Source/GOD/All That IS does not live inside of all of us, and if one does not conceive of or believe in their own divinity, how are they going to make the leap into the next levels?

Greater perceptional awareness (i.e., an evolved being with a higher density perceptional awareness, e.g., 5th density and above) recognizes and understands that no one has the purpose/task/mission/dharma, but most importantly, the capability to advise or teach another on their lessons, or on the development of their 'spiritual path', inner being/inner world that is just:

• an ego's misinterpretation/projection based on lack of awareness (i.e., fear): I need advice from others in order to thrive/advice is needed for others because they are helpless/suffering; or

• an ego card for superiority or control: I know it better/I am better.

Ego thinks, it knows better, the SOUL knows it: looking for information or confirmation in the external is futile.

As always, awareness is the key that developed through the frequencies of creation: wisdom and love.

So, what does it mean when one sees repeating numbers?

It means: one is out of alignment — energetically — with the The ONE's/Most HIGH's/GOD's/One Creator's/ I AM's/Source's/ REAL's/LOVE's frequency.

Why?

When we think, thought forms/beliefs arisen within our bodies (mind and heart), in the language of physics we're creating the electrical and magnetic expression of them as waves of energy, which aren't confined to our mind and heart or limited by the physical barrier of our skin and bones. So we're creating a world/reality around us in each moment of every day through a language that has no words: through belief-waves of our conscious awareness field (body+mind+heart and — if one's able to mute/master their ego — then the soul can take the lead of those aforementioned).

The minute one is in doubt = one is in FEAR state of consciousness/conscious awareness, and when one's being in fear, one is jumping in the mind = one's thinking, desperately trying to seek security = aid/reassurance/validation/purpose/guidance/love in the external; either in the mind, or in our reality. Meanwhile, one's vibrational frequency drops and fear drags one at the lowest level of frequencies.

Due to that, all energy manifest and fear is an energy, too, the outcomes of such manifestations will always be not REAL, i.e., illusory — i.e., that is not lasting, — because FEARs are Lies, fabrications of a non-existent, illusory-self/ego/identity.

One can never find any of the REAL in the external, because the reality, our reality, created by minds, a common hallucination = a matrix projected by phantom egos, — is actually, a cognitive bias, therefore, nothing REAL can be attained/gained from the external.

Seeking guidance, validation, or protection from repeating numbers is a limiting belief: manifestation of one's fear, — and FEAR attracts the fearful.

One's responsibility is remembering one's core essence/truth so one can recognize and understand what one's doing with their energy.

One should take care of their energy.

This is part of learning to take control of your energy. Who is going to control your energy if you don’t?

Oddly, so many regard the 10 instructions (mispresented as the Ten Commanmends) of the Semitic Decree, aka The BIBLE / Old Testament, left behind by Annunaki Chief ENKI for his beloved ones, and for the leadership/kings,** (which tells exactly how one can fully realize their divinity on a lower, 3rd density awareness plane such as Earth,) with disdain, but seek and follow hundreds of “advice” from non-visible entities, and/or from “experts” with veiled/limited/biased perceptional awareness (i.e., one with a contaminated body/astral body, mind, or heart) on various platforms.

**The story of the Anunnaki and their arrival is told, in part, by the ‘Enuma elish’ – known as the Epic of Creation (seven tablets of Creation), with other subsequent Sumerian texts detailing their stay here on Earth.

“...when there is one who understands the energies of all Creation, and how they then may utilize those energies to make themselves a god, then they keep people in bondage, for they then seek to have control over others, in order to feel that they are a god.”

This is exactly what happened with the Anunnaki and their relationship with human beings, even though it was probably unintentional in the beginning, they ‘got off’ on the power and made themselves into gods.

The stories of the Bible are symbolic. They delve into our inner being and coded existence and the energies at work within our bodies.

Earth has been continuously and extensively influenced by visitors from other realms. It is interesting that the 10 instructions were compelled by ENKI considering that the Sirians/Annunaki of Sumer — and also the Atlanteans, Arcturians, Orionis etc., — all alien races who took part the colonization of this planet, — are higher density beings.

We each possess the capacity to commit the seven deadly (karmic) sins that diminish our divine essence by lowering our density, and that keeps us in the shackles of karma. Absolutely inherent within us.

“As you did, so shall it be done to you;

Your conduct shall be requited.”

The only way to combat that is through individual transformation, one needs to practice a little self-control/discipline, and to begin taking responsibility for themselves, and for the planet. Freedom lies in a correct energy management.

Ways to get rid of this fear is doing something goodness/kindness without expectations, or recalling something good, a story/a mental picture, and being like a child, starting smiling/laughing at such symmetry (i.e., repeated numbers), which creates a higher frequency vibrational energies within one's energy field whenever one sees repeating numbers, then, slowly these 'angel' numbers will start to disappear.

Remember who you are. Remember your gift.

HOMESTUCK NEWS UPDATE!

"Hi, James here. Hope you had a good holiday! New year, new me! New you! Whatever, man! We got the usual patreon updates for you. Wahoo! Did you know that's a kind of fish? I watch a lot of fishing videos. If everything goes right and nothing goes wrong we should have something very exciting very soon: a new website! What does this mean for you? Stick around and find out!

Thanks for coming to our AMA, I hope we were able to answer some questions. I especially liked the one where Haven said he was going to fill Dirk full of Milk and slap him against a wall. Great job team. In other community news, the folks over at SAHcon are having their New Year's showcase around 5 pm PST today. Wow! I'm excited to see what the community is cooking.

We got another great comic update coming mid month, and in the next few we're letting some of the new writers shine. I'm excited for you to read them!

Speaking of updates on things… some of you sleuths may have noticed some changes. I'd like to go into a little more detail about them to the extent that I am able. I also wanted to do this in an official newspost, and not on socials etc, so that there is no question about it.

The contract with VIZ media has been restructured. What does this mean? Well, let's start a little further back. We have gotten a lot of questions about Andrew's involvement with HS:BC and Homestuck as a whole. I mentioned before that Andrew approached me to finish HS:BC. As many of you know a few years ago Andrew stepped back from having a creative role. This has allowed him to focus on oversight, and some behind-the-scenes stuff. A large part of that was regaining a sort of legal control of the brand as a whole.

So who "Owns Homestuck?" Well Andrew still does. Who has the publishing rights? We're working on that! The HICU has a license to do what we want with the property, which is what has allowed us to do some of the more creative things we are trying to do. Is the Website going to be fixed? They're working on that! I have very little to do with that, personally, but once there is something solid to announce there and the concerned parties are comfortable with it I'll let you know. What does this mean for the commentaries? Behind the scenes, some ideas about how to handle the issues with the way Homestuck is going to be published are being discussed. Some of these ideas may include a new way to release the future book commentary in absence of the books themselves. Wow!

With regards to VIZ, as some of you have correctly surmised this is good news for us. It has allowed things like HS:BC and HICU licensing etc to happen, as well as the SAHcon license. Hopefully, this can also include some additional fan-friendly licenses Andrew is considering. This all will take time to fully unfold so more details will be forthcoming about what this means for Homestuck as a whole. All in all, I think we are in for an exciting year.

Man what else is goin on? Some good news on the Vinyl is that I talked to the printer and with such an overwhelming response from you guys, instead of a simple Best Of EP, we actually want to try and do a print of Vol. 1-4. This makes all my very scientific and organized data gathering completely useless. I am humbled by something new and mundane every day. Anyway, this represents a completely different beast logistically, but as a fan of those tracks I am very very excited about that. I will Literally buy a Record Player for this. "James, you don't own a record player?" No! What do I look like, an old man? Please don't answer that. (Yes James, you do. -Homestuck Archive, 2024.)

This month (January 2024) we are also going to start seeing some of the bonus content go public. I ran a poll for the Patrons, and the general consensus is that after 2 months, they're ok with the bonus content going public. This includes Bonus strips, the Illustrations, and the commentary. They're really fun to do, so I hope you guys are into it. If you want to see these as soon as they go up, they are available to subscribers. Thank you for that, btw. It means the world to be able to pay some of my team's bills. Look at me, getting all sappy on New Year's Day. Maybe it really is a new year and a new me..."

The main opinion I see is that people think gorillaz is mainstream and the absolutely hate that. They yearn for when they were punk.

But like, to me, gorillaz isn't mainstream. Is it popular? Right now yes, but that is the whole goal of a band: be popular and make money.

People feel they've lost sight of their purpose, but I don't think they have. They're still telling a story and now have more technology to do so (tiktok, discord).

I wish people were more open to change. Everybody changes.

Big time agree. And they were doing all this back in the day too— it was just with forums, email etc. the reason they don’t do that more nowadays, I think, is the sheer volume of fans now and how much more difficult it’d be to have the band interact with fans like they used to. The poor intern (or maybe just Ed/the writer) would be at it for dayyyyssss to just respond to people after One (1) tweet or TikTok video. That’s why they primarily spoke amongst themselves in Discord.

Gorillaz can’t “go back to how it used to” because it’s just physically impossible. They’d have to hire way more people to work on the team, which their budget may or may not allow, plus the whole “too many cooks in the kitchen” problem that inevitably arises from a large creative team.

Back in the day in phase 2, lore wasn’t that heavy. You could explore Kong studios, sure, but the updates were kinda like how it is now. I think people got the lore bomb in phase 3 and then the goalpost shifted to that level of storytelling. And Gorillaz is likely to not do that kind of phase again because there are multiple videos now discussing how phase 3 almost killed the band completely. Financially, it did kill them for a while.

Even in the early phases, Gorillaz was pushing merch and record sales. The scavenger hunts to literally find the figurines they were selling in Kong, Do Ya Thing as a whole, hell even the “Reject False Icons” campaign from phase two was getting the fans to subtly advertise the album at little to no cost to the band.

I think people use phases 3-4 to draw this hard line between “old” and “new” Gorillaz, when in reality they really aren’t that different.

Besides, I’ll take Murdoc crying on a couch (phase 6) over him calling Noodle or 2D straight up slurs (phase 1). Could go for some more focus on Russ and Noodle tho.

Edit: I will however agree that phase 6 was their flop era. That phase objectively sucked management wise, art wise and general production wise. There’s a reason that limited edition stuff for Song Machine hasn’t completely sold out in the band’s store, even 3-4 years adter releasing said limited edition stuff. 💀

Edit 2: I will also agree that the 3D models did just inherently pull some of the fluid-ness of the band's art out of the characters, because almost all 3D animation does that already. And 3D animation isn't unionised while 2D animation is.

correct me if i'm wrong but didn't the russos say that the events of AC weren't canon? which lead the stggy stans argue that she never married and/or had children with anyone else? (which btw doesn't make any sense whatsoever cus she did infact had children or a child.. i don't know i'm not so sure, shown in pictures kept in her hospital room in CA:TWS) but now apparently it's canon and even included in the official MCU list 🙃

all i gotta say is, try as hard as y'all want to make her relevant Disney, but it's not gonna change the fact that she was one of the people who enabled the growth of HYDRA in SHIELD, who were the very people Steve "the love of her life" fought against until the moment he put down that damn Valkyrie into the Arctic

TBH I think they're intending it to be seen as happening in an 'alt universe' / timeline (idk what the difference is, and frankly I don’t think they do either).

The events are impossible / could not have happened within the MCU timeline, because it's all supposed to be happening at the same time that CATWS told us she and Howard had already co-founded SHIELD and released/employed Zola (1946).

And all the events of CATWS are themselves impossible if that didn't happen, which would have had an enormous knock-on effect for the subsequent Avengers movies. Including Howard wondering where 'Arnie' is in EG, *ach-tw*

And with WhatIf they think they've made her history A-okay by treating Zola as if he's just another fun Nazi side-character like Zemo, and making Bucky a douchebro who's to blame for what TWS did (so the people like Zola who tortured him are not bad or to blame, apparently).

But in fact all they've done is point out that hiring and working with and enabling Nazis to be immortalized and accrue world-shattering power is such an intrinsic part of Peggy's character that she'd even do it in other universes!

(And they went with 'because she's incompetent' as the reason. Feminism!)

Canon-in-main-timeline or not (it's not), AC is still very revealing of character. Just not in the way the stans, writers, and actress think.

It's the show where we find out exactly how much of a rich privileged posh Englishwoman Pggy is.

( Girl's boarding school, debutante, Stork Club, fiancee in the Home Office, brother in the Old Boys Network, skipping from career to career without worry of consequences, handed every job she's ever had, daddy's friends with a Senator, only non-rich friends are servants, etc. etc. But tell me again how she earned her place? )

It's the show where they really doubled down on 'she's the most important to Steve because- [delete Bucky delete Sarah]!!'

While simultaneously stealing every bit of Bucky's characterisation.

( Signature outfit colours, blue and red? Steve's last message was about her not his mother and Bucky? living in dingy apartment in Brooklyn with blond Irish 'room mate'? friend to disabled guys? math skills? boxing? war-record? besties with the Howlies? on the continent not in London? crackshot? whiskey drinker?? Stark Tech admirer? being the damsel rescued by Steve makes you his love-interest?

Literally all she is is stolen wholecloth from Bucky. I guess I should be glad that, now that they’ve nerfed Bucky’s characterisation, she has moved onto stealing from Steve and Sam?)

It's also the show where the character based on a Nazi gets the only female Jew in the MCU sterilised by GSW because of arrogant incompetence, but can herself be literally impaled and just walk it off.

Where the line 'no woman is going to choose an aluminium crutch over a red white and blue shield' is apparently proven true.

Where the 'feminist' stabs blue collar creeps for offending her friends, but her rich white creep friend (Stark) merely gets told off.

Where the threateningly pretty fan fave will be written out because lesbian ship is icky.

Where Peak White Feminist Princess stops her disabled colleague from protesting women's disempowerment, on the grounds that she, the one posh white girl working there, knows how great she is, and that's all that matters. (Meanwhile she is shouting that being a woman makes her a better spy than the men but she can't spot a Black Widow until they're literally kissing her on the mouth. Oh, btw: lesbians are only villains!)

And where POC will only appear (after fans have complained) to kiss her ass (to remind us how great she is! because that's how making a great character works! totally not a racist!) be Family Friend-ily desexed by Plot Machinations, and then be killed off.

Every time Pggy appears, they tell on her and tell on her tell on her, but still don't see it because-

Well, clearly, Disney are not going to hire people who think having a past of collaborating with Nazis is a bad thing and would criticise that in the writing, because putting that attitude in the media would damage Disney's IP.

They can subtly endorse Disney's Nazi past, though, to please the people who are into that.

By erasing Judaism from any adapted Jewish characters, except the one who’s going to be sterilised. (Or adapting Jewish characters, if they’re going to be villains).

By simultaneously adapting Nazi characters as 'heroines'.

By introducing Nazi villains, but making them 'fun', saying they’re not Nazis... but keeping everything about which connoted Nazi-ism originally.

( EG. an aristocratic Baron with a German accent who mysteriously managed to hang onto generational wealth after the Holocaust, from an Eastern European country that hates Captain America, with a big Hydra (Nazi) base in it? Who is a Nazi in the comics?? A woman whose interest in a disabled man is pitying but who becomes overtly sexual towards him once he’s an ubermensch? Who is a ‘spy’ but spends all her time around Allies because she’s actually spying on them? Who is a Nazi in the comics? Gee, I wonder it what it all means! Dog whistle! )

By making heroic characters mute whenever these Nazis speak -- and what they say will be treated as rational and correct (see: Zemo mansplaining what supremacy is while Sam agrees). By having non-Nazi villains do the same things Nazi villains did, but then becoming allies of the heroes (John Walker, Red Skull, and Pggy, all deemed themselves worthy to receive superserum).

By blaming the Jewish-character expy (Bucky) for things the Nazis did (to him).

By pushing the Colonial-Power Superhero in rep and exposure just as a black man takes over the Cap Mantle (and citing ‘feminism’ to explain why this is Fine Actually. These are ‘Margaret Thatcher Utilised Girlpower’ people.)

And by making leftwing people the Bad Guys.

(FATWS, TPB. The logical next step will be bringing back Steve -- the ultimate leftwinger -- as a Baddie).

Now you might be tempted to think Pggy wasn't originally part of all this. Because in the original script she was more of a maternal figure, in Steve's eyes, and he was supposed to do what he did in the comics, and dump her for Sharon, with her blessing, while she died of old age.

But she was always an adaption of Nazi Cynthia, for absolutely no earthly reason... other than pleasing people who are into that (if they needed a pre-serum woman for Steve, then Gail Richards was right there!)

She was always, from way back in her short, intended to be the co-founder of SHIELD.

And SHIELD was always intended to have been Hydra all along, because they’ve been adapting the Ultimates Run of comics (creepy, shit, misogynist), in which that happens. (And in which, incidentally, Pggy is not Steve’s love interest!)

And now with WhatIf they’ve confirmed that working with Nazis really is just who Pggy is in every ‘verse, making this the fourth- sorry, FIFTH time the Same Nazis have “infiltrated” while she was either running the show or high up in the organisation.

FIVE TIMES?

How many times is enough before people take the hint?! SIX?! Why wasn’t one enough?

So... I wanted to take a moment to go on a tiny (it's not tiny, as always) tangent in regards to one of three states/phases Ethereals can enter - namely, the "fading state" and the ability to fade!

Not only is it a fun little thing Ethereals can do, but I feel the finer details of how it works, cause and effect, etc. may prove interesting to talk about too. 🥴🙏 (To "fade"/"fading out" is when Ethereals go all spooky ghost mode.) 👻

Because this tangent is in fact not as tiny as I say it is, I've dropped it below the cut. Sparing your timelines/dashes again and letting you decide if you'd like to have a little look-see. 💙

Fading

When an Ethereal enters the "fading state," their form essentially vaporizes on a microscopic level, their atoms and particles disperse and energy is released in the process. This allows for them to seemingly fade out of existence, yet still be present. While they may not be seen after fading out, the act of fading in and out makes for a nice little light show, given the release (fading out) and metabolization (fading in) of energy in the process. Sometimes, scintillae (light particles) may remain in the area, telling on an Ethereal who may have recently faded in or out. These may be visible to the naked eye. In classic paranormal fashion, this "after effect" may also exhibit light orbs that often tell on a lot of phantasms that can only be seen on certain electronic devices.

Particle Loss

Moving through corporeal objects (such as walls and whatnot) is possible, but this comes with some risk of particle loss. However, in general, particle loss will always accompany fading. This is to say that: the longer an Ethereal goes "ghost mode," they'll slowly lose particles and energy over time - reducing corporeality. Heck, in doing this long enough, they can "lose themselves" - lose too many particles and dare I say take literal psychic damage and physical damage that may take some time to recover from! Weaker and/or less complex Ethereals may even simply disperse entirely - like cosmic dust to the wind - which is the closest equivalent to death Ethereals have.

Recovery

Though it comes with a downside, Ethereals can always recover from particle loss. Always. Even in cases of "death," the possibility is always there. (Spoiler alert: There are Ethereals - in particular, I know of one by name, and it's not a Sal one - who even make an effort to, sadly, "die" as well as "stay dead" - wishing for death, for one reason or another - but they lose their minds and forget this... eventually, they may or may not manage to regrow and materialize by pure mindless, instinctive chance - only to eventually regain their dominant identity/memories as well and this tragic cycle repeats itself...! I hope to tell the particular one's story one day, in some effective manner. Haha! And yes, it is very reminiscent of soulful/spiritual stuff present in Final Fantasy - only instead of denying death via the power of determination, they can come back by the power of good ol' RNG.)

Ethereals can recover from this loss through simple rest and regrowth, but the process can be expedited through the intake of energy. In this instance, think of them as... weird alien ghost plants... that need sunshine. And/or fire and electricity. Light. Ions. Energy. If it produces energy, they may attempt to soak it up during rest, eventually metabolizing it and turning it into their own, much needed weird alien ghost chlorophyll. ☀️🪴

Now, despite the risks, for characters like Sal, this can be a perk! A very volatile perk, but a perk nonetheless as she likes to keep her "battery" low ("low battery" is for the sake of avoiding being radioactive if too much energy is taken in; it is done for the safety of others and going undetected by the more common forms of tech and intelligence that may get a read on her otherwise - she has a record. It's not the musical kind.) So, she does this not only to remain elusive (and to be a silly little spook, sometimes) but to disperse energy in a more minimal fashion, if her energy "disposal" options are limited.

Has she ever taken it too far? Yes. It's easy to do, in fact, given the "low battery!" This can lead to curious little situations where you may see her hiding parts of her that have endured too much particle loss and are rendered effectively incorporeal (and look the part) and "unusable;" perhaps her dominant hand may be "ghostly," and she may take to the use of her non-dominant hand for things like doors and utensils. Seeing her perched in front of a fireplace, soaking up some sun rays and other forms of unsuspecting R&R can actually be her low-key trying to recover from particle loss.

Additional Notes

So... technically, this ability should not affect clothing or other materials on the Ethereal person that may prove "conductive" to the act... yet, here we are, most depictions of the fading state also rendering clothing "invisible" with the character. How that works is something I'm still brainstorming! I have theories about conductivity also playing a roll in fading and explaining that, but... heh. It still needs a lot of work! For now, it's one of those things where it's been decided "this is the thing that happens. You can figure out why later."

The radiant state is another topic of a similar conundrum, though I do decide to stick to accuracy with that one. In that case, Radiance is often far too hot for anything to withstand it and clothes naturally burn off (which is why Ethereals are depicted as being nude in the radiant state.) All of that being said, though...

Deciding to settle with the more accurate here and the less accurate (perhaps. Until I can find a way to explain it well enough, anyway!) for the fading state is where things start to get funky...

Ultimately, this dilemma has led me to just play it by ear, for now. The less accurate fading state will be the default until further notice. I'll be sure to let y'all know if that ever changes, though. I'm also open to input for individual stories and RP! The fun of working with a wide range of worlds and settings is they can have their own "universal laws," where things may work differently than in others as it is.~

Over the years, I have watched you insult the alte music scene and telling them that it is dead but from the look of things, it appears that it's your opinion that is dead. Because MAVIN Records, the biggest record label in Africa has been leaning towards alte music for years and just decided to go full blown alte with their new artiste, LifeSize Teddy.

Before you argue with me whether she is Alte, look at her stage name alone. When a normal artiste will give themselves stage names from their real names, she decides to go by LifeSize Teddy. I can bet the N0.18 in my Access Bank Account that her real name isn't Theodora or anything close to Teddy. That is the thing with alte artistes. They don't care what you think about their stage name, music or image, all they care about is their creative expression. LifeSize Teddy's self titled EP( a normal MAVIN strategy of artiste reveal) just released contains unapologetic alte music(by the way 'John Wick' is my favourite song on the project). She & MAVIN made the project just for the sake of creative expression and not for profit. I am not saying MAVIN is an NGO but over time, I have discovered that the best way to make money as a creative, is not to think of making money while in the creative process. Just create for the sake of creating.

Now you, might want to say that Lifesize Teddy is the first alte artiste in MAVIN. If you say that it shows you are not really paying attention to the music scene as you thought. MAVIN signed Johnny Drille, Ladipo, Rema, Arya Starr, Boy Spyce, Bayanni etc. Rema is literally carrying a lifesized teddy to his performances all over the world. I guess he will now go with his label mate. Arya Starr is your anime girl with her dressing. Boy Spyce was unveiled clutching a rabbit in his arm. All these are the 'I don't give a fxxk what you think, I just want to express myself' element of alte music. These are the kind of artistes the contemporary Nigerian record label normally don't want to touch. It seems that they are the types of artistes Don Jazzy loves to touch because he understands that the creativity of alte artistes is on another level as can be seen in alte legends like Cruel Santino, Odunsi etc. He knows that their creativity transcends just music. It expands to art, comic, fashion, game, merch, movies etc. The alte music culture is limitless. And a record label which signs an alte artiste will cash in these different aspects of the artiste. That's huge return on investment. That's how you know that DonJazzy is business savvy and I see him signing more alte artiste in future. So, alte artiste don't mind Joey Akan, keep doing your thing, Don Jazzy might notice you. If he doesn't, someone who is wise as him will. Keep pushing, don't give up. The music industry needs your uniqueness and creativity.

If anybody had any doubt, I hope Lifesize Teddy and MAVIN has put it to rest that in *in the voice of Olamide when he was alluding to DonJazzy* .....

100% sure this is going to sound like an absolute dipshit question to someone who hasn't been relying on their phone for everything since adolescence but how do you deal with an emergency if you leave your phone at home? Like if you get stranded or injured how do you let someone know or navigate out of the situation without contacts + gps

It's not a dipshit question, and people HAVE become extremely reliant on phones but that isn't always a bad thing and it's not really a preventable thing. It may be a requirement that you have your phone at work or school for 2FA verification, etc.

In terms of navigation, here's some good advice regardless of whether you have your phone on you: Get a map of the area and know it before you go there. Don't protest in areas that you're unfamiliar with, and if it's at all possible, learn the area ahead of time. If you're the kind of person who goes to protests, it's worthwhile to scope out the kinds of areas that protests in your region happen at. You can take a weekend and drive around city hall or follow past protest routes, etc. If you can't physically go to where you'll be protesting ahead of time, spend some time on google streetview and get a feeling for what the area looks like and plan routes out.

But really, really, really, try to take a month off of relying on your phone for navigation just to practice this. Look up directions ahead of when you have to go someplace, write them down, then drive there based on those directions. Is there an unexpected blockage? Figure out how to get around it without a phone rerouting you. This isn't something that a ton of young people know how to do anymore because they have literally never done it and getting from point a to point b is something that often involves troubleshooting steps that people don't often think about.

I actually highly recommend getting a paper map of the closest large city (AAA offices will have these maps available at low prices, and if the city has a tourism board they will likely have them also, but you want a DETAILED map) and taking an afternoon to drive to that city, get yourself lost, and find your way home. This is something that you should practice. This is something that requires practice. Everyone should practice navigating strange places without their phones. Everyone should practice reading maps. Everyone should practice orienting themselves in a location without technology.

If you're going to the kind of protest that you don't want to have a record of, you should not go alone. You should coordinate with friends or activists you know and have a plan to meet up after at a specific location that is, ideally, within relatively easy walking distance. You may want to designate someone who will stay at that location with their phone or a burner phone in case people need help. You could also designate a meet-up location that has a payphone - but make sure it's actually got payphones and they actually work ahead of time.

I hang out at a Denny's in Downtown LA that's pretty close to where the jail releases people; a lot of them don't have phones or any cash when they're released, so they often approach people on the patio asking to borrow cellphones. The script that works most frequently seems to be "Hey, I just got let out and I don't have anything on me, can I use your phone to call my brother to pick me up?" That can be modified to something like "Hey, I just fell down and lost my phone, can I use your phone to call my friend to pick me up?" A lot of people will be suspicious about this, but at least some will be cool about it.

If you are worried about needing to contact people, write down a few phone numbers ahead of time. If you're injured there will be *someone* around who has a phone you can borrow to call a friend. If you are injured badly enough that you need an ambulance you can usually just *say* that and then when you get to the hospital they'll have phones that you can call out on.

You should make a point to memorize at least three phone numbers so that if you get caught somewhere and you *don't* have a piece of paper with a friend's number on it, you can still call *someone.* If you're in a car accident and you're not hurt but your car won't drive and you lose your phone, how do you call someone for help? Do you know your sibling or parent's phone numbers? Do you know a friend's phone number?

What you DO NOT, under ANY CIRCUMSTANCES do is bring 2-way radios, ham radios, CB radios, or any other kind of radio equipment to a protest. Bringing radios to a protest can increase any charges levied against you because they are evidence that you pre-planned coordinated communication and that shit will get escalated real quick.

Oh also I don't know if you kids know this, but if you know someone's first and last name and street if they have a publicly listed landline you can call 411 in the US and an operator will give you their phone number. So if you know where your grandma lives and your grandma has a landline you can call 411 to get her number when you don't have your phone handy. You can also call and use this service to get phone numbers and addresses of businesses so long as you know the business name and the city the business is in. (Usually. I once had 411 hang up on me because I was looking for the address of Pricks Piercings in Pasadena and I could see why they thought that was a prank call)

PSA on Britney Spears and the #FreeBritney movement for anyone that needs or wants more information on what is going on with her. It’s a fucking rabbit hole, so buckle up.

A little backstory first. Britney was a child star starting at the age of 4 years old on Broadway, and then worked her way to the Mickey Mouse Club, and eventually the solo career we know today. Her career has been on autopilot her entire life. If you look back at her music, she’s been telling everyone for years she’s too controlled and treated as a product if you listen to the lyrics of most of her hits. Examples include: Lucky, Overprotected, My Perogative, Circus, Piece of Me and Gimme More. Her music videos, social media posts, tour props and photoshoots regularly show her in a cage or in chains. If anyone has ever seen videos of her when she was younger, you’d know her REAL singing voice is very similar to Christina Aguilera’s. Her record label didn’t like it, as they were both on the Mickey Mouse Club and about to release their debut albums at the same time. So they had her voice retrained to sing in the baby voice we all know today because they believed it to be more iconic and would create a brand and career for her instead of her real voice. It’s unhealthy, and it’s been destroying her voice over the years, thus why she is known for lip syncing. She wanted to make an acoustic type pop album in 2006 titled Original Doll and reinvent herself using her real voice. The album was shelved and cancelled once her label realized she would be singing in her real voice. She isn’t allowed to sing live because she will either fail terribly, or she’ll have to sing in her deep voice that she isn’t known for. Her entire career she has been treated like a product meant to sell.

Now, for the real tea.

Everyone remembers the 2007 meltdown. Everyone. Leading up the meltdown Britney was going thru a public divorce, had two children under the age of 2 at the time and was VERY much the focus of the public. We all saw her on every magazine cover. We all also saw the photo of her with one of her kids on her lap while driving. Go on YouTube once and look up ‘Britney Spears paparazzi’. You’ll watch her be chased and followed by hundreds of them, even trying to get into a public restroom to photograph her, videotaping her in tears asking them to leave her alone, and even filming her thru the windows of an ambulance while she was naked being taken away for her final mental health hold.

After the public meltdown, shaving her head, locking herself in her home with her children, speaking in a british accent on regular basis, wearing the imfamous pink wig everywhere, and shopping naked, she was hospitalized twice. After the hospitalization, her father petitioned the courts to be a TEMPORARY conservator to her until she was mentally stable and for only one years time. 2 months after her hospitalization she did a guest appearance on How I Met Your Mother. 6 months after her hospitalization, she drops the Womanizer video and starts to promote her new album Circus with its worldwide tour that grossed $131.8 million. If she’s so unwell, why did she start working right away?

Her father after one year petitioned the courts for the conservatorship to become permanent due to her ALLEGEDLY having EARLY ONSET DEMENTIA in her TWENTIES. It passed and has been that way ever since. For 12 years to be exact.

Now for everyone that doesn’t understand what that means let me break it down for you.

Britney Spears is a now 38 year old woman who is not allowed to do the following without her fathers permission or he can legally lock her up in a mental health facility:

• drive a car

• vote

• get married

• have children

• spend HER OWN MONEY

• see how her money is being spent

• see her children (she has 30% custody of both of her boys due to her dad assaulting one of her sons)

• leave her home

• hire her own lawyer

• have any control over her career

• speak about the conservatorship publicly

• do interviews that aren’t scripted and all final cuts are approved by her father as well

• use a cell phone without being monitored

• use social media unmonitored

• contact ANYONE without being monitored or having them extremely vetted. (Iggy Azalea allegedly had her house searched for drugs top to bottom when they collaborated on a song together)

• go shopping

• go for a walk

• get Starbucks

A conservatorship is meant for people with mental health issues or decaying health. Most likely grandparents or people with actual dementia etc. They are meant for people who literally cannot take care of themselves. If she is so unwell that she isn’t mentally capable of doing anything for herself, why is she still working? Since the conservatorship began 12 years ago she has:

• released 4 albums

• done 3 worldwide tours

• did a FOUR-year Vegas residency

• was a full time judge on X-Factor

• released multiple perfumes and a lingerie line

• made $138 MILLION DOLLARS or so A YEAR

In January of last year, Britney was placed in a mental health facility for 3 months after being seen driving her car to In-N-Out with her boyfriend without permission and for refusing to take the sedating medications her father has doctors prescribing her to keep her under control. She testified to a judge in documents that she was held there against her will by her father. After it was leaked to the press that she was there against her will, the Free Britney movement picked up speed causing a judge to open an investigation into the impact and legality her conservatorship has on her life. Britney’s mother Lynn was also liking and commenting on Free Britney posts saying she agrees that Britney is trapped by her father. Britney’s team had Twitter disable the Free Britney hashtag, and regularly threatens any celebrity that speaks out using the hashtag with a lawsuit if they don’t remove their support for the movement. She was seen shortly after leaving a hotel thru the front door (99% of celebrities park underground to avoid paparazzi unless they WANT to be photographed) stumbling while carrying her shoes, and out of it. Her team used that moment to justify to the public that she needs this conservatorship. She is not allowed to have any say in the hiring or firing of anyone on her team. Every year she pays $1.1 million dollars in fees for the conservatorship to continue, including paying her father a solid $100k+ salary and paying a lawyer she isn’t allowed to choose. She is allowed an allowance of around $1,500 a week for bills, shopping and essentials. Her net worth is $250 million.

So, when everyone sees her on Instagram walking up and down her hallways like it’s a fashion show. That’s all she is allowed to do. She has NEVER had control over her life. I don’t care if you personally like her or her music, NO ONE DESERVES THIS. All this woman wants is to see her children, make the music she wants to make, and go get a frappuccino in her car. She is a light of sunshine in this world, and we must protect her at all costs. So please, do not make fun of her, support the Free Britney movement, and send good vibes her way. She has a court date this month to review the conservatorship and decide if it is abusive or will continue to be in place. There are so many details to this that i left out that would make this post entirely much longer than it is, but a simple search will show you what else is out there. Hi Gina, this got rather long and you don’t have to publish (if you do please cut my name off). I’m the same person who sent in the submission last year about the industry. On the upside I have landed on my feet, I now work in a totally different industry with some of the most amazingly nice people. My manager is just such a kind hearted and supportive person, I am literally getting tears as I’m writing this. I actually said to a friend who is still working in the industry that this job is my reward for everything I’ve gone through. (And apparently my name is still brandied about as being “unstable” and a “troublemaker”). It took some healing but I feel like I’m on my way, although I’ve only recently been able to start to listen to music again.

Just a little bit of insight on how the entertainment industry works. The CEO’s, directors, top managers of record labels, radio stations/media groups (because most belong to a network), artist managers, PR agents, etc all do “meetings” – things like golf, lunches, yacht trips, dinners, etc where they all get together, “invite” young attractive junior workers to come along as “entertainment”, often unknown to those young attractive junior workers (and this includes young artists trying to break into the industry) where the predominantly older male senior management group will indulge in lots of alcohol and drugs, plying and pressuring the young workers into doing the same and then taking advantage of these people sexually. All while making deals with one another.

Artist managers are supposed to work for the artist but the reality is they work for themselves. They don’t just have one client, they have many. Some will never see the light of day. But all are “managed” and this could mean anything from making them a star to taking them out of the equation by stopping them from ever releasing a single thing. Managers (& PR companies) make deals with record labels. These deals are what is best for them, not the artist. Artist Managers broker the deals and that includes the stunts. Record labels, media groups and artist managers are all interlinked and need to be to get the deals done. Jeff doesn’t work for Harry, he works for himself and Full Stop (and probably Irving is the real puppet master). There is a reason why all the stunting and all the “advertising” for all those businesses lead back to the same source. The entertainment industry is littered with inappropriate relationships – just research Elvis & his manager, The Beatles, The Bay City Rollers, Mariah Carey and Celine Dion, just to name some of the more well-known ones. Even N-Sync & Back Street Boys not to mention George Michael, Prince and Michael Jackson.

I’m trying to explain in simple terms and in a concise way however it is quite complicated the deals that are made but the bottom line is that rarely do these deals benefit the artist. Yes you do get some genuine people in the industry but they get hounded out and made examples of. The deals that all the boys will be under will be quite convoluted. There will still be leftovers from their original deals because contracts will have been written in such a way that they will never end and then there will be whatever has been agreed to since. But no matter what there is absolutely no way that any of the boys will be allowed to say anything detrimental about any of the people from any of their labels, management teams, etc. That will be iron clad.

The only way is for a complete clean up but that is so far from happening its depressing. I know people in the industry that have been caught, where things have been made public and have gone through legal action and not one single person has been punished. Not one. However I can be sued for defamation just by writing this and this is how these people get away with it. Because even if you don’t mention names just by saying something can be construed as defamation because people will work it out. There are a lot more details but this has already gotten too long and I apologise. All the boys and in fact all artists are trying to do the best they can with what they are able to do. But I for one am in a far better place not being in the industry.

Hi Gina, I don’t mind you questioning. In fact everyone SHOULD ask questions. I was probably generalising a bit and I don’t have inside information on what H’s or any of the boys contracts or deals would be but I have experience with the industry and other people who have been in similar situations.

This is completely supposition on my part but my take would be that as a sweetener H was involved in the setup of Full Stop. And I do think that initially the intent was to make things better. However, as Full Stop were given more clients and grew and became involved with more side ventures, lines became blurred. I also think that the problem is that Harry and Louis are so intertwined and their original deals are so entrenched in every decision they make, it also complicates what they can and can’t do. Pleasing is truly something I don’t understand and not sure how involved H actually is. It’s like the sitcom situation. It was going to happen so here is a percentage to keep you happy so to speak. Again this is just me reading the situation but to me the changes that have been happening are pointing to something that isn’t quite right. I do feel that Harry has had a major disagreement with the way things have been handled and where they are heading.

I don’t know how much sense this all makes and I would normally take more time to explain better but please feel free to ask me anything further. I don’t blog. I once sent you an anon a few years ago about how I would handle Louis’ PR and marketing roll out (I was working on the radio stations rebranding at the time) and the notes made on that was enough for me to never want to blog. People's lack of comprehension astounded me.

First of all, I'm so happy you're in a better place now. Your last submission to me is one I've gone back to time and time again and I think about it often. It's good to know you landed on your feet.

Second, thank you so much for sharing all of this. It's super enlightening and also so disturbing. I've said for years that Harry (in particular, because of the level of fame he has, but really every one of the guys) is doing his best to navigate a completely disgusting industry while trying to maintain some sense of integrity and morals.

If you see this and have more to add, I'd love if you could expand on your comment the changes that make you feel something is not quite right and feeling that H has had a major disagreement with how things have been handled/are headed.

I’ll be talking about the “pros” and “cons”, if you can even call them that, of Dazai living in a shipping container near a dumping site. Also I am using what architecture knowledge I do have on the subject of container homes.

This is on the longer side so brace yourself. Also Stormbringer spoiler warning, in case that wasn’t realized yet.

Before I actually start I’ll preface this by saying that I’m a former architecture student but it was with a design focus. I have also previously designed a shipping container home so although I have some knowledge, it does have its limitations.

Also this will be updated when the fan translations get to this part of Stormbringer. Currently, I’m getting the information from chazukekani and popopretty’s summaries and translations, so please check them out too!

As a general reference for what to expect of a shipping container home, the average shipping container is 8 x 20 ft or 8 x 40 ft. As a more visual example, here is a portion of the container house I designed. Note that it’s total length is 30ft because I have two 20ft long containers stacked on top of each other, with a 10ft offset. The space beyond the sliding doors is a balcony and can basically be ignored for the purpose of this analysis. With the pictured dimensions, you can consider it to be insulated from the outside, so as not to sacrifice internal space. Despite this, you can see that it feels fairly cramped even with minimal furniture (a sink, toilet and shower unit in the bathroom and a bed, desk, and wardrobe closet in the master bedroom).

Dazai’s current living arrangement

Now for comparison, let’s first take note of what’s known of Dazai’s living conditions for comparison.

he’s living in an illegal dumping site, and there are toxic substances coming from the ground because of this

“Not even a field mouse would dare to approach it.” (Popopretty)

the area is not on the map and Dazai lives near the center of it (which can easily be one of the worst parts in terms of health and safety)

the container was previously “used to export passenger cars overseas” (popopretty)

his only furniture is a fridge, (exhaust) fan, desk/table, a chair, and a bare light bulb

no one would approach “not just because the place itself was weird. It was because no one could predict how Dazai would react if someone approached his private residence.” (Popopretty)

it’s been a year since he’s joined, yet no one trusts him → he could’ve been living here since before he joined but we don’t know as of yet

he’s sitting in complete darkness, lightbulb off and door shut, until Verlaine opens the door and walks in

Verlaine asks if he’s living here because he’s afraid of property taxes but Dazai claims that he’s afraid of Verlaine. He’s not actually addressing his choice of location because he only corrected Verlaine on what he fears, and gives no actual explanation for why he chose to live here.

The “pros”

Naturally unapproachable location. Even if Dazai being PM Dazai wasn’t a factor in people staying away, the nearby smell alone means no one would normally approach it, much less suspect a Port Mafia executive of all people to be living there. It’s also unmapped territory so even less reason for him to be found. This means enemies and allies alike would have a more difficult time trying to find him (ie. to come for his life) and there’s unlikely to be anyone else around. After all, if even a mouse won’t go there why would a whole person live there?

It costs him nothing. Not that it’d make a difference with what we can assume of his financial wealth. He has money, likely more than Chuuya who lives in a nice apartment in a nice area, yet chooses to live in a shipping container in an illegal dumping site. This is beneficial for Dazai, since there’s no paper trail or record of where he lives, which goes right into my 3rd point.

Ease of abandonment. Considering his whole goal at the time is to off himself without troubling others in the process, it makes sense that he’d want to leave minimal traces behind. No unpaid rent or mortgage, no one on a waiting list to move into a nice place, and no personal belongings or attachments. This winds up being a pro/advantageous when he does leave the PM since there wasn’t a trace to follow him with in the first place. He can simply grab his few things of importance and find a new shipping container or abandoned building outside of the PM’s territory. In fact, he might’ve even been able to stay there or in that general area since no one dares to approach it in the first place.

The “cons”

Or should I say say the dangerous living conditions he’s in. I don’t find them surprising because again, he doesn’t have a long term plan to live at this point. He doesn’t have much reason to care about what happens to himself, as we can deduce from his overall disregard towards being constantly injured and in danger for example. This is also where the architectural stuff comes into play.

Let’s start with the most visible one, lack of insulation. With a shipping container home, you can insulate from the inside and lose about a foot of interior space in each direction (6 in. off each wall) or from the outside and lose the aesthetic of the textured walls. Either way, it costs time and money to do it. We know it’s not insulated from the inside because of the illustration and, in my opinion, it’s very unlikely that Dazai would’ve gotten it insulated from the outside because at the very least, it would make his container stand out among the others nearby. You need to insulate a container home because they get very hot or cold in the summer and winter respectively, as they are made of metal. I’ve heard that at the very least, Japan’s summers are HOT.

This one is a little harder to confirm and will likely be updated as fan translations are released, but a likely hazardous set up for electricity and (hopefully) plumbing. If you don’t have the insulation on the inside but you still have your electrical and plumbing, it can possibly become both a visual mess and a safety hazard. It’s possible that he kept it all in the back portion of his container for example, or maybe he has it taped to the floor or walls somewhere, but that also brings the question of where it’s connected to on the outside. Since he’s on a dumping site, then where’s the electrical going to go at the very least? Sure he can use nearby public facilities but every day? He has a fridge, single lightbulb and a fan but where is the power is connected to? In terms of plumbing, I think it’s equally likely he found a Porta potty nearby or there’s (hopefully) some sort of public or PM owned facility nearby. Really, his hygiene, especially during the PM days when he was (as far as we the audience are aware) likely at his lowest, can easily become its own separate question/discussion for another day. After all, we’re just talking about the condition of his container in this post.

The possible fumes and chemicals left over. The paint on shipping containers is meant to withstand the sea water splashing on to them, so it may contain harsh chemicals. And we know that his container was used previously to ship cars overseas, but that still leaves the possibility for things to have leaked on the inside at this time. We don’t actually know if it’s been used more than once, but seeing as we do have a usage history, I’d say there’s a fair enough chance for it to have been a single use container. Still, chemicals could’ve previously leaked and the paint may be a concern in the long run. It’s also possible that it has begun rusting as well, due to the metal being exposed to the likes of sea water. Also, let’s not forget the toxic substances from the illegal dumping site itself, possibly going into the container over time.

Also as far as we can tell, there seems to be a lack of windows. This means no natural light, aside from opening a whole door. Keep in mind that windows can help with indoor temperature control, not just natural light.

Living in a dump site, especially an illegal one. This one should speak for itself but I’ll list some concerns anyway. Seeing as it’s illegal, we can probably just forget about regulations altogether, much less any possible existing ones being followed. This means that there can be literally anything from hazardous waste material, to dangerous and sharp objects on the ground, to who knows what kind of smells and fumes, etc. In short, not a safe area to live in, for health concern reasons at a minimum.

Again, my knowledge on shipping container homes themselves is limited and I do recommend checking out Belinda Carr’s videos on some of the downsides of them from a professional’s POV.

Also, just because Dazai was making presumably LARGE amounts of money obviously doesn’t mean that he has to spend it all or live luxuriously if he doesn’t want to. It’s not that hard to infer why Dazai did choose to live in such conditions and I mainly wanted to draw attention to how these conditions can affect him, with both the advantages and disadvantages.

He will “train” his darling to love him

Won’t “force” himself on them, but will coerce them into it (again mind games)

His favourite method of “training” is isolation and he will leave them alone locked in a room with food and water for days with no source of entertainment

He’s not delusional and is aware of what he is doing is wrong, but he just wants to be loved

He loves cuddling his darling, especially when they are in his lap

If they ever show him willing affection, he would be over the moon.

There is no subtlety with this ashy motherfucker

He goes straight to kidnapping them and keep them in his room with a nest of blankets and pillows for them in one corner or even the closet if they want

will threaten to dust them if they try to escape

he will dust those they care about and anyone who seems to get too close as punishment

Demands daily affections and cuddles, always mindful to wear his digi-art gloves so as to not accidentally dust them

Will demand them to tell him about themselves (What they like, what they dislike, their favourite colour, etc.)

If they play nice, so will he, doting on them with affection and stolen gifts

He will restrain them if necessary, but always makes sure the restraints are padded enough to not be too uncomfortable.

He kidnaps his darling early on, under the veil of providing protection

Kai is incredibly possessive of his darling, making them scrub themselves red if they are touched by someone else

He treats them like royalty if they behave, and like a burdensome pet if they don’t

He keeps track of all of their health stats, performing medical exams on them himself on a monthly if not weekly basis

His favourite thing to do is simply sit and observe them through the two way mirror of their room.

He isn’t above hurting them, “remaking” them if they try to escape, but he prefers punishments that don’t mark their skin

Honestly, if you don’t try to escape, allow him to doll you up, accept cuddles on the rare occasion and allow the monthly/weekly medical examinations, he’s not too bad of a Yandere

But if they are non-complacent, it will be literal hell

This man will kidnap them the moment his obsession begins

Will use physical force to mindbreak them and “train” them

He doesn’t give two shits about their feelings or if they don’t want his “affections”

Honestly, he is the worst among the villains to begin with and this is reflected in his Yandere state

Restraints are also a common occurance

Threats occur daily, and physical abuse is his go to as punishment

His darling is a pet to him, not someone to love and he will kill them if he finds them too tedious

Completely the opposite of Goto

Jin is obsessive, yes, but he is so incredibly scared of hurting them in some way.

He worships the ground they walk on and would do anything for them

Jin would try to win their affections every way he could, only wanting their happiness

His obsession for them is something that both “sides” of him can agree on

He tries to reign in his more creepy traits, and ends up acting like a golden retriever, constantly tailing them if they let him.

Even as a Yandere, he is a complete gentleman

Yes, he is obsessed and possessive, but he is also incredibly silver-tongued

He will manipulate his darling into a relationship, slowly isolating them from everyone else

They wouldn’t even realize he was manipulating them either, as he would have an excuse for every action that actually made perfect sense

He will dote upon them, never raising a hand against them

His darling would live in utter blissful ignorance and if they ever did find out, by then it would be too late

We all know his obsession with real heroes versus fake heroes; now imagine him with a darling

He starts as a stalker type, simply being content in observing them as they go about their day-to-day life

He keeps a small notebook in which he records shit he notices (their best qualities, their favourite clothes, etc.)

His possessiveness comes in the form of wanting to protect them from heroes and villains alike

He would approach them eventually, probably after saving them from being mugged.

He is blunt with his obsession, but is surprisingly not as creepy about this as others

He would give his darling two options

Option one: allow him to “court” them properly

Option two: accept their fate of having him as a demented guardian angel, who would kill any hero or villain that got too close

He refuses to kidnap them, knowing they would be in greater danger of harm if he did so

Danjuro Tobita/Gentle Criminal (ran to photo limits)

He is a delusional type and would kidnap them early on

While he would never physically hurt them on purpose, it may happen by accident

He would want to shield them from the world, saying it is too dangerous for them

He would restrain them if necessary, but always uses the softest most padded restraints possible

He loves dressing them in what is essentially life size doll clothes

Honestly, his darling would probably develop Stockholm syndrome or learn to just go with the flow

Kurogiri is a wildcard of a Yandere

Though he projects a gentleman aura and may appear calm, he’s a scary motherfucker

His darling has no chance of escape once he chooses to kidnap them

If they try to escape him, he will teleport them into a variety of situations (i.e. in the middle of the ocean, on top of a tall building, etc.)

He is a master manipulator and isn’t above physically hurting them

But he will also dote on them with gentle touches as he tends to wounds he inflicted, whispering sweet nothings in a honey sweet voice

Eventually, they would either go insane or fall victim to Stockholm syndrome

He is similar to Jin regarding his Yandere tendency

Only he is more likely kidnap them if necessary and may accidentally hurt them by holding them too tight

He would stick them in his room that he had already prepared for them, filling it with their items he had stolen from their own home

He would be shy even after kidnapping them and honestly his darling would probably pity him

He knows what he is doing is not right, but he also knows he can’t just release them after already kidnapping them

He will bring them their favourite foods, offers to play video games and watch anime with them and even offers to take them out if they promise to not try and escape

If he accidentally hurts them with his claws, he is incredibly apologetic and would take care of them accordingly

He would ask for cuddles eventually, becoming depressed if they reject them but elated if they accept

Honestly Kendo isn’t that bad of a Yandere

Yes, he may accidentally harm them by grabbing their wrist or arm and accidentally snapping or dislocating something, but he actually feels horrible about it

He is possessive, but he won’t kill their family or friends if they remain platonic

He has his code

Instead he is more about protecting them from harm, so strangers are fair game

Kendo is not delusional either, he knows its wrong to kidnap them, but his need to protect them overrules it

He can get frustrated though, especially when they don’t give in to his affections

He prefers isolation for punishment

It's a commitment they're bound to respect from the moment they have accepted and signed the contract. I'll give you a silly example. Think of it as when one day you didn't want to go to school but you had to go anyway. Not necessarily, dear Anon. Mila started work on her third album during the pandemic in her studio, so no one had to pay for her. Besides, when a contract expires and there's a re-sign, it doesn’t necessarily mean that an announcement will be made about it since the record label is still the same. Announcements are made if there's some kind of important addition, such as for example happened with 5H when they had to re-sign as a quartet for legal reasons with Syco/Epic, and it was only announced because of the addition of a contract with Sony Music as the sponsor for their last album.

Having said that: 1) Since her movie has been postponed again, I would say in 2022. 2) I really hope not because they would be really stupid to do it again. Plus, I don't think the PR will last until the released of her album. 3) I have to admit you made me giggle here, but no, dear 😂 don't worry. They had gotten to a really bad point in their relationship. A point where they were no longer themselves, either in the couple or individually. For me, what happens in the Havana music video is what happened in reality as well. It was obviously told in an artistic and funny way there. Like the scene of Juan literally ‘coming out of the closet for her’ because he thought it was the best thing for their relationship. In that scene, he gets down on his knees to ask her to marry him, but in reality, at least for me, it represents December. It represents the ‘begging’ in a disguised and artistic soap opera way. It represents Lauren's last attempt to make things work between them. Which is related to the “You love me”, “I do love you. But I love me more” scene in which Camila leaves everything behind. And if you think about it, we can also find this connection somewhere else: 🎶 “Nobody talks about walking away when there's still love” 🎶. Always Love by Laur. Leilani is Dinah's aunt by marriage. She has always interacted with fans and we saw her in several videos even with Dinah herself, but the first time she showed herself to us as problematic was on July 18, 2016. Leilani tweeted an attack on Taylor Swift and apologized the next day by saying of having been hacked:

September 8, 2016, was the day Laur cried several times during the concert in Phoenix, Arizona. The next day, on the 9th, before the concert in Irvine, California, Laur tweeted to thank the concerned fans, and Leilani replied to the tweet by exposing L because of the ‘her’:

Yes, of course she knew about Camren. All the people close to them know about Camren. Leilani has always been a person who likes attention. She has always liked to show off and be noisy and messy in doing so. It didn't matter how ridiculous she was or that her actions fell upon her niece. The fact that she seemed to be joking and that she was always so evasive and confusing on the subject, is because she herself knew she was going to pay the consequences. She could never have said “yes, they're real” and stick to it. Also because the one who would've paid the most consequences would've been Dinah. You know, being her aunt, it was like her responsibility. And I think D really paid the consequences for something she didn't do. At least, before the sharks took the reins and told her what to do (Leilani through Dinah). It’s happened to a lot of people close to them to get involved over the years. It has been noticed a lot more from 2015 onwards, but especially in 2017 to increase the story of the fake feud between the girls.

So basically, yeah, she was problematic and loud and messy and all of that, but for the most part, she was just following the script.

Now. This is the official story. The one we should’ve bought. But let me show you the behind the scenes. This is Melanie Mueller, Luis's ex:

As you can see from the date, it was February, and weren't Lauren and Luis already together since January 27th? 😏 The funny thing is that they kept interacting and taking pictures together:

And then there's the best part. The Camren shippers went wild that year in replacing Luis's face with Camila's twice. The first one with the prom picture 🤣:

And how can we forget one of the many things that remained in the fandom's history and which coincidentally happened just in February a week before the picture of Luis and Melanie's romantic date:

Now that I've given you proofs, it's theory time. We know about the friendship with benefits, the Like Friends Do situation that Camren had, and we know that Lauren was in denial. Luis was a shield. Her shield, especially for the public. It wasn't a PR created by the labels, but by Lauren herself. Laur and Luis were friends, and I mean, they still have been for years. Laur simply asked him for a favor and he accepted. Laur stayed in Miami throughout the Christmas period until the first week of January 2014 before flying to L.A. with the girls. From the great names that have made history to the most recent but still famous ones: Michael Jackson, Freddie Mercury, Aretha Franklin, Frank Sinatra, David Bowie, Bob Dylan, Celine Dion, Paul McCartney, Mariah Carey, Beyoncé, Jay Z, Adele, Alicia Keys, Ricky Martin, Pharrell Williams, Robbie Williams, Katy Perry, Shakira, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, Diplo, OneRepublic (Ryan Tedder), Miley Cyrus, Harry Styles, Zain Malik, Little Mix, Calvin Harris, BTS, Lil Nas X, Meghan Trainor, etc., etc., etc. Believe me, there are really, but really many names that I haven't put in this list.

The purpose of a record label is to make money. To do that, the label finds an artist. The label decides if it's worthwhile for them to sign the artist by investing and advancing the money on them, and if the label believes they can make money with their music, then they don't think twice before signing them. So they invest in the artist, develop them, promote them through the artist's team, and distributes their music in exchange for a percentage of the revenues. If things go smoothly and well, there's a gain, but if things go wrong, the label loses money. Now, what did I mean by that? As I said before, Columbia is the number one, the biggest and most important umbrella music label under Sony Music Entertainment. So why on earth would a label as big as Columbia Records have signed Lauren and invested in her, but then thwart her and lose a lot of the money they invested themselves? It wouldn't make any sense because it would be like self sabotaging themselves! And what did I say is the purpose of a record label? To make money. Don't be fooled by anyone about it, dear.

I could have understood if this had been an isolated case; if Laur had been the only one among the girls (LAND) who hadn't released an album. But it's not like that. Something, and I'm 100% convinced it's something from their old contracts, has held all four of them up until now. We'll see, dear Anon. Nada is a song that is part of Tainy's EP called Neon16 Tape: The Kids That Grew Up on Reggaeton, and it's about how two people in an unofficial relationship want completely different things. The guy doesn't want anything serious unlike the girl.

Now. I understand why you're confused, dear. After reading the lyrics and thinking about Camren, you've surely wondered “Where the fuck is Camila in all of this? But does it have something to do with her, or not?”. Well the answer is no. You see, dear, we're used to hearing a lot more Mila's songs than Laur's. When Mila writes, she writes for herself. She writes from her point of view and according to her experiences. Same thing Laur does. But Mila, unlike Laur, can't write a song for other people. She can't detach herself from them when she's writing them. Take as examples all those songs she gave away after finishing them, like Anyone or Ain't Easy. When you listen to them, you can clearly hear Camila all over it even if the song is being sung by someone else, like in these two examples, Justin Bieber and Elijah Woods. But with Laur? Nah, because Lauren can completely detach herself from them.

Take More Than That as an example. Laur didn't write More Than That for herself; she just ‘decided’ to keep it (because it was okay for the narrative she had going on at the time). If she had really given it to someone else and then you had listened to it and knew she was the one who had written it, you would've thought “Really?” with a wtf expression as the first thing. Right? Because you recognize Laur in the song only because you know she's behind it. Am I wrong? And don't get me wrong, dear, this is not by all means a bad thing at all. I'm not saying this as an insult or anything. Quite the opposite actually. I think it's absolutely amazing. Think about it. It's basically the work of songwriters and ghostwriters who only work behind the scenes for other artists. Gosh, they're both so fucking talented 😍

Anyway. What was I getting at with this? To the fact that the same thing happened here with Nada. Nada was written by four songwriters and we have two different points of view to represent the couple in the story. The one of the girls, Laur and Cris Chil (she also worked and wrote with her for Lento), and the one of the boys, C. Tangana and Tainy (like Cris, he wrote with her and produced Lento). Now. I can't tell you who the real protagonist behind the story of the song is because none of them said it, but it's definitely not Lauren. Laur just went with the flow.

Before starting, I would like to also publicly thank my girl @romanticentropy for helping me with the translation (her first language is Spanish), so thank you again, my love 🥰 And I'm not talking about the literal translation. I'm talking about the real meaning behind it since the meaning of many sentences or words can change even based on a simple comma. Therefore, here below you'll find the real translation along with notes placed in parentheses with various explanations. I don't know if you speak Spanish, dear Anon, but we did this for all those people here who don't speak it so that everyone can understand the true meaning of the song.

That said, let's get started.

Verse 1:

Of course not’ said in a casual tone. So, ‘not at all’ is a possible interpretation because he's reassuring he really didn't make anything up]

Sobrevivo en la ciudad (¿Qué?)

I survive in the city (What?)

Me la busco pa' ganar, cien monedas pa' gastar

I'm looking to earn, a hundred dollars to spend [In this sentence, the comma is very important because in ‘me la busco pa' ganar’ read alone, it means that he's finding his ways to earn a living or a better life. When you add ‘cien monedas pa' gastar’, it extends to ‘he's finding his way to earn $100 to spend’, but the comma is important because it keeps alive the idea that he's not only working for the 100 dollars, but also for a better life (possibly a rich kind of life, but that's not necessarily implied)]

Una cama pa' dormir, y un yate pa' vacilar

A bed to sleep in, and a yacht to show off on”

What do we understand from this? That he's actually the one who doesn't want to have a serious relationship because his goal for the moment is to earn and live a good life, not to settle down and get married.

Pre-Chorus:

“Tú ya sabías to' lo que había

You already knew what to expect / You already knew what the situation was

No me hagas cambiar, vida mía

Don't make me change, my darling [He sings ‘vida mía’, which means ‘my life’. Calling someone ‘my life’ is not used in English because it makes no sense in the definition of the language itself. So, in this case, it's translated and used as a loving nickname. As you could call someone ‘my love’, ‘my heart’, ‘my baby’, or ‘my darling’]

I'll give you until it's daylight

I'll give you until it's daylight [‘Darle a alguien’, ‘to give to someone’ in Spanish has a sexual connotation. It means you're going to have sex with that person. It’s especially used from a male point of view; particularly this last line, he means he'd have sex with her all night until it's day again]”

He basically tells her: “You knew I'm an asshole. Don't try to change me because it's useless. The only thing I can give you is whole nights of sex”.

Chorus:

This is an ultimatum. “If you keep giving me nothing for much longer, I'll leave you without looking back”.

I'm not here to please you [The literal translation of that is ‘I'm not here to give you’. The incomplete sentence opens an ambiguity where you don't know if she’s saying ‘I'm not here to give you anything’, or ‘I'm not here to give you things’, or ‘I'm not here to fulfill your wishes’, or ‘I'm not here to please you’, or things like that that make you understand that if he's not ready to pay attention to her right now and give her the love she needs, and he's clearly not because he's ‘giving her nothing’, she's not just going to wait there by begging for some love or collecting the crumbs that he leaves behind. She's saying “give me the love and the attention I need or I'll go away on my own”. So overall, ‘I'm not here to please you’ is a decent interpretation]

Ni tampoco para esperarte

I'm not asking you to marry me, just your love [That's the real meaning behind the sentence despite the literal translation being this: I'm not asking you to marry me, just your art]

We can pretend like we’ve only done this for the fun of it

Basically: “I'm not asking you to marry me, just to have a real relationship. An exclusive relationship. We can continue to pretend that we just had fun, but I know there's something deeper. I know you're afraid of falling in love with me, but if you keep wanting this kind of relationship, then I'm gonna go find someone who wants the same things as me; also because there are a lot of guys out there and I'm starting to get tired of waiting”.

And that's all, dear Anon. Now that you know the real translation *thanks once again, mi amor 💖* , can you see anything that has to do with Mila? Because I don't. In fact, if I really have to find an association with Camren, the only thing that comes to my mind is that Lauren could have written some parts of her verse from Camila's point of view when they were still just fuckbuddies. You know? Since it was Laur who was initially in denial and was afraid, and not Camila. She was the one who was afraid of the idea of even liking Mila, let alone falling in too deep. But it's not like that. There's nothing of Camila here. There's no Camren here. For me, this song is the story of one of the three (Cris Chil, or C. Tangana, or Tainy) and Laur only contributed to it with her talent.

So. Camila created In the Dark the day after going to the Grammys' after-party (February 12, 2017) with which she went with Ashlee as her date of hers. Mila said she got the idea for the song because of the encounter she had at that party with this unnamed famous guy. Yeah, sure, Jan. We know very well that this is not the case. Just as we know very well that that was the same night in which Tyren had their first public appearance as a fake couple. If you don't mind, dear Anon, I'll start with the verses because they're the only parts of the song where Mila isn't addressing Lauren directly. In the verses, Camila just observes her by describing their surroundings.

Verse 1:

“Blank stares, faithless

Vampires at the same places

Shadows, traces”

Okay, let's talk about those types of parties for a moment. I bet that when you think about it, you picture a lot of celebrities having fun and dancing, glam, alcohol, drugs, music, and all those kinds of things, right? Well, that's just as true as it isn't. You see, there aren't just celebrities at those parties. There are one or more of they team members, there are A&R representatives of various labels, CEOs, publicists, producers, marketing representatives, radio and television presenters, reporters, designers, advertisers, etc., etc., etc. Those parties are the epicenter of business-talk. Very often, this is where ideas for collaborations, for PRs, for endorsements and sponsorships, for movie and TV appearances, etc., etc., happen. For those celebrities who have to be there for business reasons and not for actually having fun, those parties are pretty boring.

With those sentences, Mila describes all the people around her during that party. Those people who aren't having fun because they're surrounded by what she calls vampires. Before they marketed them by making them sparkle in the sun because of the crystals on their skin, or before they made them wear a gemstone in daylight rings, bracelets, and amulets to make them walk in the sun, you know? Before they become basically trendy, vampires were always the villains. But don't get me wrong with that. I saw the Twilight saga and I love love love The Vampire Diaries, but the fact remains that before all of that franchise, vampires have always been used in horror and scary genres because they're evil. Also because if you think about it, what do vampires do? They suck blood by basically feeding on the life force of creatures by draining them to survive and not decompose since they're undead. They need to take a life to keep living theirs, so yeah, they are the bad guys.

So Mila here describes both the bored people, the ones with blank stares who in those cases are the shadows of their true selves because they're pretending to be who they aren't, and those people of power as bloodsuckers, life-suckers: vampires. And I don't blame her at all because that's what they do. Vampires, or puppet masters, or parasites, or as you guys know I like to call them: sharks.

“I know that you feel me”

Now. Now, now, now, now, now, now. What does this sentence make us understand? Picture you're in a place full of people. Picture pretending that you're having fun because you can't show how much you actually want to be somewhere else. Picture smiling and forcibly laughing at the bullshit someone's saying. It's all about image. Now picture seeing someone you know amidst that sea of people. You and this person are far from each other, and at the moment, you both are busy talking to other people. Even though you turned around to keep having this oh so great conversation with those people, you can feel the person you know. You can feel their presence despite being on opposite sides. You can totally feel that they're still looking at you, and you have confirmation of that the moment you turn towards them again.

Apply all of this on Camren now. We know how they've always attracted each other. We know how they've always searched and checked each other when they were on opposite sides of a room. We know how they've always felt each other. So it's not that hard for me to picture how it went in this case. I understand what Mila means when she says she knows Laur could feel her despite the place and all the people around them. Because it's always been that way between them, and we've actually seen them do it many times.

Verse 2:

“Plus one, guest list

But you don't even know what her name is

Secrets, endless

I know that you feel me”

This is a repetition similar to the first verse. Mila here continues to describe the people around her and those around Laur. People who are there because they're on a list thanks to someone they don't even really know. People who in those events become totally fake because they all have secrets to hide, including the two of them. People who pretend to be friends with each other just for a matter of image without even knowing their real names, their real selves. People who are so used to wearing a mask that they've by now become that mask. And among all the sea of these people, Mila knows that Laur can feel her. Evidently as much as she can feel Laur.

Refrain:

“You’re runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin' (oh)

Making the rounds with all your fake friends”

As I said before, many celebrities wear a mask, this facade for protection. They do it to show themselves as unproblematic and to show themselves almost as perfect in the eyes of others. If you think about it, it's the same thing we see in many celebrities and even in Camren when they have to promote something. Neither of the two of them has problems showing themselves to us in a vulnerable, authentic way, without make-up ‘al natural’. But as soon as they have to promote something, bam! Dresses, nails done, make-up, and hair. It's quite normal on the one hand. I understand that. But the problem, as Mila herself said, is when this fake persona takes over your authentic self.

In this part, Mila explains how she was observing Lauren's behavior. This facade that she was wearing because they were in that kind of environment with those kinds of people and those fake friends (yes, including Tabloid). This mirage that allowed her to run and hide her true self from everyone, even from Camila herself.

“Runnin', runnin' away from it (away)”

Especially in this part, and despite having seen her fake act many times before, Mila lets us understand how Lauren was 'running' and suppressing/hiding her authentic self in front of everyone. [I remember that period. Lauren didn't act like Lauren for a while]

You can strip down without showing skin, now”

Okay, this? This sentence right here, it's magic. It's pure art. “It's okay to show the realistic side of yourself without exposing yourself and also having to show your secrets or what you want to keep to yourself. There's no need to act like a completely different person from who you are”. Camila leaves me more and more speechless with her way of writing and expressing such true and profound concepts.

Pre-Chorus:

“I can see you're scared of your emotions

I can see you're hoping, you're not hopeless

So why can't you show me?

Why can't you show me?

I can see you're looking for distractions

I can see you're tired of the acting

So why can't you show me?”

The pre-chorus explains itself quite well. Mila's saying “I know you. I see what you're doing. I see your fear. I see the way you want a way out. I see how tired you are of this farce. So why are you faking it? Why are you faking it in front of me? Why are you faking it with me? Show me the real Lauren. Not this industry puppet. Show me the Lauren I know”.

Chorus:

“Who are you in the dark? (I, I)

Show me the scary parts (I, I)

Who are you when it's 3AM and you're all alone

And L.A. doesn't feel like home? (I, I, I)

Who are you in the dark?”

Who are you in the dark? = Who are you when no one's watching. Who are you when no one can judge you. Who are you when you're alone and you can really lower that protective barrier you create around you. Show me that. Show me all of you.

Camila mentions 3AM because, as we well know thanks to their other songs, it was the nighttime hours when they were able to spend more time together freely. She also mentions L.A. to make a comparison with Miami since Los Angeles is the second city they spend the most time in due to their careers.

If in the pre-chorus Mila really asks her to show her her true self, here in the chorus she instead asks her a rhetorical question accompanied by the explanations themselves like the specific examples 3AM and L.A. to make/show her point even more. Basically the same explanation as the pre-chorus: “Who are you, because I know, I know you, so why don't you show me?”. And I really love this connection between pre-chorus and chorus.

Bridge:

“Darling, come on and let me in

Darling, all of the strangers are gone, they're gone

I said, darling, come on and let me see”

The difference between the pre-chorus & chorus and this, is the more affectionate way she addresses her. She's asking her in a cute way also thanks to the use of that classic old-school pet name, to open up and show herself. She's telling her that it's okay now that they're alone. And most importantly, she's reassuring her with this:

“Darling, I promise that I won't run”

After hurting each other, after the omissions and the secrets, after the fights, after the non-communication, after that toxicity, in short, after everything they'd been through in those years and the way things had ended between them almost two months prior, this is really serious. She's promising her that she'll stay. That's the first step, or at least what we know was the first step thanks to this song, towards a healthy relationship and towards a real positive change in their relationship.

And by the way, wooohh, this whole transition is amazing!

Outro:

Lil Nas X: Country Music, Christianity & Reclaiming HELL

I don’t typically bother myself to follow what Lil Nas X is doing from day to day, or even month to month but I do know that his “Old Town Road” hit became one of the biggest selling/streamed records in Country Music Business history (by a Black Country & Queer artist). “Black” is key because for 75+ years Country music has unsuspiciously evolved into a solidly White-identified genre (despite mixed and Indian & Black roots). Regrettably, Country music is also widely known for anti-black, misogynoir, reliably homophobic (Trans isn’t really a conversation yet), Christian and Hard Right sentiments on the political spectrum. Some other day I will venture into more; there is a whole analysis dying to be done on this exclusive practice in the music industry with its implications on ‘access’ to equity and opportunity for both Black/POC’s and Whites artists/songwriters alike. More commentary on this rigid homogeneous field is needed and how it prohibits certain talent(s) for the sake of perpetuating homogeneity (e.g. “social determinants” of diversity & viable artistic careers). I’ll refrain from discussing that fully here, though suffice it to say that for those reasons X’s “Old Town Road” was monumental and vindicating.

As for Lil Nas X, I’m not particularly a big fan of his music; but I see him, what he’s doing, his impact on music + culture and I celebrate him using these moments to affirm his Black, Queer self, and lifting up others. Believe it or not, even in the 2020′s, being “out” in the music business is still a costly choice. As an artist it remains much easier to just “play straight”. And despite appearances, the business (particularly Country) has been dragged kicking and screaming into developing, promoting and advancing openly-affirming LGBTQ 🏳️‍🌈 artists in the board room or on-stage. Though things are ‘better’ we have not yet arrived at a place of equity or opportunity for queer artists; for the road of music biz history is littered with stunted careers, bodies and limitations on artists who had no option but to follow conventional ways, fail or never be heard of in the first place. With few exceptions, record labels, radio and press/media have successfully used fear, intimidation, innuendo and coercion to dilute, downplay or erase any hint of queer identity from its performers. This was true even for obvious talents like Little Richard.

(Note: I’m particularly speaking of artists in this regard, not so much the hairstylists, make-up artists, PA’s, etc.)

Which is why...in regard to Lil Nas X, whether you like, hate or love his music, the young brother is a trailblazer. His very existence protests (at least) decades of inequity, oppression and erasure. X aptly critiques a Neo-Christian Fascist Heteropatriarchy; not just in American society but throughout the Music Business and with Black people. That is no small deal. His unapologetic outness holds a mirror up to Christianity at-large, as an institution, theology and practice. The problem is they just don’t like what they see in that mirror.

In actuality, “Call Me By Your Name”, Lil Nas X’s new video, is a twist on classic mythology and religious memes that are less reprehensible or vulgar than the Biblical narratives most of us grew up on vís-a-vís indoctrinating smiles of Sunday school teachers and family prior to the “age of reason”. Think about the narratives blithely describing Satan’s friendly wager with God regarding Job (42:1-6); the horrific “prophecies” in St. John’s Book of Revelation (i.e. skies will rain fire, angels will spit swords, mankind will be forced to retreat into caves for shelter, and we will be harassed by at least three terrifying dragons and beasts. Angels will sound seven trumpets of warning, and later on, seven plagues will be dumped on the world), or Jesus’s own clarifying words of violent intent in Matthew (re: “Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.” 10:34). Whether literal or metaphor, these age old stories pale in comparison to a three minute allegorical rap video. Conservatives: say what you will, I’m pretty confident X doesn’t take himself as seriously as “The true and living God” from the book of Job.

A little known fact as it is, people have debunked the story and evolution of Satan and already offered compelling research showing [he] is more of a literary device than an actual entity or “spirit” (Spoiler: In the Bible, Satan does not take shape as an actual “bad” person until the New Testament). In fact, modern Christianity’s impression of the “Devil” is shaped by conflating Hellenized mythology with a literary tradition rooted in Dante’s Inferno and accompanying spooks and superstitions going back thousands of years. Whether Catholic, Protestant, Mormon, Scientologist, Atheist or Agnostic, we’ve spent a lifetime with these predominant icons and clichés. (Resource: Prof. Bart D. Erhman, “Heaven & Hell”).

So Here’s THE PROBLEM: The current level of fear and outrage is:

(1) Unjust, imposing and irrational.

(2) Disproportionate when taken into account a lifetime of harmful Christian propaganda, anti-gay preaching and political advocacy.

(3) Historically inaccurate concerning the existence of “Hell” and who should be scared of going there.

Think I’m overreacting?

Examples:

The above short list chronicles a consistent, literal, demonization of LGBTQ people, contempt for their gender presentation, objectification of their bodies/sexuality and a coordinated pollution of media and culture over the last 50+ years by clergy since integration and Civil Rights legislation. Basically terrorism. Popes, Bishops, Pastors, Evangelists, Politicians, Television hosts, US Presidents, Camp Leaders, Teachers, Singers & Entertainers, Coaches, Athletes and Christians of all types all around the world have confused and confounded these issues, suppressed dissent, and confidently lied about LGBT people-including fellow Queer Christians with impunity for generations (i.e. “thou shall not bear false witness against they neighbor” Ex. 23:1-3). Christian majority viewpoints about “laws” and “nature” have run the table in discussions about LGBTQ people in society-so much that we collectively must first consider their religious views in all discussions and the specter of Christian approval -at best or Christian condescension -at worst. That is Christian (and straight) privilege. People are tired of this undue deference to religious opinions.

That is what is so deliciously bothersome about Lil Nas X being loud, proud and “in your face” about his sexuality. If for just a moment, he not only disrupts the American hetero-patriarchy but specifically the Black hetero-patriarchy, the so-called “Black Church Industrial Complex”, Neo-Christian Fascism and a mostly uneducated (and/or miseducated) public concerning Ancient Near East and European history, superstitions-and (by extension) White Supremacy. To round up: people are losing their minds because the victim decided to speak out against his victimizer.

Additionally, on some level I believe people are mad at him being just twenty years old, out and FREE as a self-assured, affirming & affirmed QUEER Black male entertainer with money and fame in the PRIME of his life. We’ve never, or rarely, seen that before in a Black man in the music business and popular culture. But that’s just too bad for them. With my own eyes I’ve watched straight people, friends, Christians, enjoy their sexuality from their elementary youth to adolescence, up and through college and later marriages, often times independently of their spouses (repeatedly). Meanwhile Queer/Gay/SGL/LGBTQ people are expected to put their lives on hold while the ‘blessed’ straight people run around exploring premarital/post-marital/extra-marital sex, love and affection, unbound & un-convicted by their “sin” or God...only to proudly rebrand themselves later in life as a good, moral “wholesome Christian” via the ‘sacred’ institution of marriage with no questions asked.

Inequality defined.

For Lil Nas X, everything about the society we've created for him in the last 100+ years (re: links above) has explicitly been designed for his life not to be his own. According to these and other Christians (see above), his identity is essentially supposed to be an endless rat fuck of internal confusion, suicide-ideation, depression, long-suffering, faux masculinity, heterosexism, groveling towards heaven, respectability politics, failed prayer and supplication to a heteronormative earthly and celestial hierarchy unbothered in affording LGBT people like him a healthy, sane human development. It’s almost as if the Conservative establishment (Black included) needs Lil Nas X to be like others before him: “private”, mysteriously single, suicidal, suspiciously straight or worse, dead of HIV/AIDS ...anything but driving down the street enjoying his youth as a Black Queer artist and man. So they mad about that?

Well those days are over.
