i'm not an expert on fashion or fabrics or watches, but i'd guess it's a leather band. the underside of the 2nd pic def looks like leather to me. and according to this article on watch history, the first rubber watch band wasn't made until the 1960s. this is probably the one item of value that tim owned, aside from his cross necklace and glasses.

Hi Anon! Thanks so much, it's really nice to know you're excited about it, I hope it'll be alright when it's done - at the moment it's at the stage where i have absolutely no concept of whether it's just totally awful or not, because i'm too deep in to have any rational read on it.

Yes indeed, in fact it's not entirely accurate for me to call it a Voldemort Wins AU. it's more a Voldemort doesn't lose AU? so he has taken london and a lot of the south, and Harry and the Order (which has grown into a political movement as well as an army) has taken Scotland. They are very much still battling.

And yes this is in fact the same fic where there are two Harrys and two Dracos. for plot reasons there is multiverse travel and during a trip to another temporal dimension, Harry brings another Draco back to his world accidentally, and he gets stuck there. It's a whole thing! hopefully it'll all make sense in the reading.

I have been posting snippets for years... just checked tacky's fth and it's basically a whole lot of excerpts with me having a mild breakdown in the tags. it felt for a while there like i would never get it done, but here i am writing the final scene. anyone who's sick of hearing about it can block the tag in that link btw!

I think the themes of wren and his fathers relationship are necessary (to me anyway). Its showing a relationship that does happen in real life, even if it's not good. It adds another layer of realism and depth to the story and to the characters. Don't be scared to write it. I'm super excited to read it!

Thanks for the feedback! I suppose I'm worried that the realism means that this arc will hit close to home for some people, because it is more down-to-earth (pun not intended) than being tortured in space, but to me it's an important plotline to include, so I won't change my plans.

milk tastes the way it does due to hormones and diet. i think since blake is not an obligate carnivore and (as far as i'm aware) has a human endocrine system, hers would taste like human milk. which is still sweeter then a cows fyi.

Hcs about when and how Luciano fell for Afonso? Also when/how do you think Afonso developed feelings for Lu?

Oof brace yourself for a wall of text.

First Luciano, he started having a crush on Afonso when he hits his teenage years and puberty happens. He always had look up to him, he was also the one to be most of the time around him and taught him a lot of stuff, and suddenly he started to smell nice? And his hair looks so pretty??

Then independence drama™ happens and he starts hating his guts and it eventually cools down. When they meet again it was like two strangers meeting each other and it was kind of awkward during those moments. But then he started seeing Afonso by what he truly was, a guy with his own insecurities and mistakes, that when he was young he also had a lot of fears for the future, he was seeing Afonso not as a great teacher, but as a failed being like him. And that attracted him again. But he didn't felt that the older man would reciprocate his feelings so he had to swallow them and be happy with just being friends again.

And now Afonso. He didn't knew, or maybe he did but didn't thought much about it, about how Luciano felt about him when he was a teen. He loved Luciano as a apprentice/little sibling/son/etc and nothing besides that. Like Luciano, he felt extremely betrayed when he rebeled against him. It took him a little longer than Luciano to get friendly with him again. I see his feelings towards him changing when he started seeing Luciano acting more like an responsible adult and like a proper nation. It was a "wtf???" Moment for him and there was a bit of guilt for feeling like that towards him. Thus begin a period where neither of them make a move bc they're too afraid of running their friendship and getting rejected.

I like the idea of Luciano being the one brave enough to cross this line and face whatever consequences. Afonso then responds with the same intensity of someone that was being denied something for so long. But after the heat cools down they stop and think if that will work and acts more carefully. They keep their relationship hidden for a while and it becomes a fun thing for both of them to sneak away for making out.

Haaa thanks for indulging me, anon.

It is the sunshot era hurt/comfort/whump/fraught-you-nearly-died-sex fic I think I briefly mentioned a little while ago. It isn't a new wip, it's one that was on the back burner for ages that I recently resurrected but had originally picked up as a prompt in a bottomji fest some time (I mean, probably years) ago.

So many of my wips are prompts I picked up at bottomji fests years ago (not all though...i have a healthy number that are prompts I picked up at the kink meme years ago) this is why I no longer really look at prompt fests.

Anyway this is the heart of the dilemma. Penetrative sex is kind of built into the prompt. But I'm just not sure I can believably write it for the kind of "we're not really communicating well if at all, and this is a quick, messy, emotional encounter between two virgins" vibe the story requires.

Like I'm not saying it can't be done (or couldn't happen between two people in a similar situation/emotional state irl), but I'm feeling resistance in my writer brain that needs to know how to come at a sex scene from quite a close character pov before I can write it.

Anyway I've not made any decisions yet. The fact is the prompt fest is long closed so if I decide I can't write this one with full on cockinass then I can still just finish it as its own story, it's not really a big deal.
