request: could you do a pt 3 to ‘unexpected’ where the reader goes into labor and seth helps her through it? like super fluffy and sue is there helping out as her midwife and theyre all just so cute and happy to be helping y/n give birth
notes: so much fluff and love, my teeth are rotting
warnings: birth??
links to part 1 and 2
you were nine months pregnant with the one and only seth clearwater’s baby and were currently anxiously awaiting the baby’s arrival. sue had you staying home and resting while you waited while seth kept you busy with decorating the nursery.
as much as you had enjoyed your pregnancy, you were getting frustrated with how difficult it was to do anything and couldn’t wait to finally be able to hold your baby. you were laying in bed with seth, it was about 10 pm and you couldn’t get comfortable. you had been having incredibly inconsistent contractions for about 24 hours now and weren’t dilating at all so sue had assured you it was just false labor and your body’s way of getting ready for birth.
you had just rolled onto your side so seth could spoon you. although he was sound asleep, he wrapped his arms around you, pulling you into his chest before taking his free hand and gently rubbing at your belly. you sighed softly, closing your eyes and tried to drift off so you could at least get some sleep.
you had drifted off for maybe 10 minutes when another contraction woke you up, this time though it was stronger than the others and you whimpered, shimmying yourself out of seth’s grip so you could sit up and get more comfortable while you waited out the contraction. at the movement, seth woke up, “what’s wrong?” he murmured worriedly, sitting up and rubbing at his eyes in an attempt to wake himself up more.
you whimpered, “just a bad contraction,” you murmured, letting out a sigh of relief as it started to pass, “i think i need to move around or something. she’s kicking like crazy.” you explained and he nodded, running his hand up and down your back soothingly before pressing a kiss to the crown of your head.
“let me help you.” he cooed, getting up and coming over to your side of the bed to help you up. you smiled, taking his hands and allowed him to help you stand up.
once your feet hit the ground you felt a sharp pain in your abdomen followed by the feeling of water trickling down your legs and you let out a loud whimper, leaning into seth so he could support your weight, “another contraction?” he asked softly, rubbing his hand up and down your back.
“my water.” you winced, pressing your hands to his chest and took a deep breath, trying to calm yourself down.
“your water?” he reiterated, “your water broke?” he asked again and you nodded, looking up at him worriedly before another contraction rolled through you and you whined, closing your eyes and attempting to breathe through it while seth held you up.
“okay, you’re okay, you’re okay.” he cooed, gently rocking you side to side in an attempt to help you work through the contraction.
after about 45 seconds, the contraction faded and you looked up at him nervously, “can you call your mom?” you asked softly and he nodded, helping you sit down on the edge of the bed while he went to grab his phone.
about 30 minutes after he had called sue, she arrived and informed you that you were officially in active labor and were dilated to a whopping 7 centimeters.
over the course of the next few hours your contractions became more intense. as you worked through the contractions, you were starting to wonder if your non-medicated home-birth idea was the way to go. you were leaned into seth’s chest, allowing him to support your weight and rock you back and forth as you worked through your most intense contraction yet when you started to panic.
“i don’t think i can do this.” you whimpered, tears filling your eyes as you looked up at him.
“i know can pretty girl,” he reassured, “you’re almost done, yea? just gotta push her out now. do you feel like you need to push yet?” he asked softly, sliding his hand under your shirt to rub his hand up and down your back soothingly.
you shook your head, “i don’t know. it just hurts all the time-” you whined, whimpering loudly as another contraction rolled through you causing you to squeeze your eyes shut and tighten your fists on the thin fabric of his t-shirt.
“okay, okay, take some deep breaths,” he cooed, “you gotta let yourself stretch, yea?”
you whined, tightening your fists on his t-shirt at the thought, “i want to push,” you groaned, looking over your shoulder to sue, “how do i push? i want her out.”
sue smiled at you, nodding, “alright why don’t we get you laid down so you can try?”
you nodded, seth and sue helping you sit down in between seth’s legs, “okay seth can you hold her legs back?” sue asked and he nodded, helping pull your legs back so you could start pushing.
“okay honey so it looks like you’re just under 10 centimeters but if you feel like you need to push then i want you to push during your contractions, yea?” sue asked softly and you nodded, gripping seth’s forearms as another contraction rolled through you and you tried to push, quickly giving up when you felt the intense burning sensation.
“it hurts-” you whimpered, looking at sue nervously who nodded.
“it’s gonna feel like that until you push her out, okay? i want you to focus on your breathing, yea? i don’t want you focusing on the pain or else you’re gonna get overwhelmed.” she explained and you whimpered, leaning back against seth’s chest.
seth pressed his lips to the crown of your head, “you’re doing so good babe.” he cooed, thumbs rubbing soothing circles against your legs as you all waited for another contraction so you could push.
you closed your eyes, focusing on your breathing like sue suggested, “there you go honey. just listen to your body, yea? you’ll know when you need to push.” sue encouraged and you nodded, taking a deep breath and pushing as the next contraction rolled through you.
“that’s exactly what i’m looking for,” sue smiled encouragingly as you collapsed back against seth’s chest taking in deep breaths, “did you feel that one? that was a great push.”
you nodded breathlessly, “how many more times do i need to do that?” you asked softly, gripping seth’s forearms nervously.
“well,” sue started, seeming to think thoughtfully about it for a moment before continuing, “you’ve had a pretty fast labor so far so probably not too much more. if you keep pushing like that i think she’ll be here within the hour.” she explained, smiling softly at you.
you nodded, not particularly excited that you’d need to keep doing this for the next hour but couldn’t focus too much on that because the next contraction started to roll through you.
over the next - very painful - 45 minutes you had managed to nearly get your baby to crown when you started to hit a mental block. the pain was much worse than you’d imagined and you were nearly in a complete panic mode, tears streaming down your cheeks as you tried to catch your breath in between contractions.
seth was gently cooing encouraging things to you, pressing soft kisses to your hair in between contractions as sue monitored you and the baby from her spot between your legs.
“seth i can’t do this-” you whimpered, weakly trying to push his hands off your legs.
“hey, hey, look at me-” seth let go of your thighs and instead cupped your jaw with his hand so he could have you look at him. you hadn’t been focusing on him that much but he looked nearly as distraught at you, “you’re doing great, yea? you’re right there babe. just a few more pushes and you’re gonna have her out, okay?” he encouraged and you whimpered, nodding as he brushed your tears away with his thumbs.
“‘m so proud of you right now. you’re doing amazing.” he cooed, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead, “now i want you to push our baby out, yea?” he asked softly and you nodded again, taking a deep breath with him before he let go of your jaw and grabbed ahold of your legs again so you could push.
you looked at sue who offered you a soft smile, “he’s right you know,” sue laughed softly, “you’re right there honey.” she cooed encouragingly and you nodded, sucking in another deep breath as your next contraction rolled through you and you pushed.
the pain of crowning was much worse than you’d imagined it would be and nearly had you screaming. instead, you opted to do as sue suggested and put that into your pushes. “there you go y/n-” sue encouraged, “keep pushing and her head is gonna be all the way out in just a second.”
you whimpered loudly, nodding, and continued pushing through the pain until the contraction finished, “great job honey, her head is out.” sue cooed excitedly, “do you want to feel her?” she asked, smiling softly at you as you nodded.
she took your hand, gently guiding you so you could place your hand on your daughter’s head, “that’s my baby?” you whimpered, another wave of tears streaming down your cheeks as sue nodded.
“yea, that’s your baby honey.” she cooed gently, smiling at you as seth pressed a soft kiss to the soft spot behind your ear.
“just a few more pushes and you’re gonna be able to hold her, yea?” seth encouraged, smiling at you as you nodded, taking another deep breath as your final contraction came on.
you whimpered loudly, leaning back into seth’s chest, your grip on his forearms tightening as sue helped you push your baby out. suddenly the pressure vanished and you heard a loud wail from your baby followed by sue placing your baby girl on your chest.
“oh my god-” you whimpered, collapsing into seth and immediately wrapping your arms around your baby and cooing to her.
you heard seth let out a sigh of relief from behind you as he released his grip on your thighs and wrapped his arms around you and your baby. “you did so good honey.” sue cooed, smiling at you as you looked up at her.
“thank you.” you whispered to her hoarsely, tears of happiness continuing to stream down your cheeks as you held your baby to your chest.
seth pressed another kiss to your hair, “‘m so proud of you babe.” he cooed, “look how pretty she is. you did such a good job.” he mused as you looked up at him.
“thank you-” you murmured softly, pressing a gentle kiss to his lips.
he chuckled, “you’re the one that just pushed her out, pretty girl,” he cooed, “i should be thanking you.” he teased, pressing another soft kiss to your lips.
you smiled, turning your attention back to your daughter who had calmed down and was now relaxed against your chest under yours and seth’s hands.
“she’s so tiny.” you murmured, gently stroking her head with your thumb as you processed the fact that you were finally holding your baby.
seth chuckled, nodding, “you have no idea how proud i am of you right now.” he mused, pressing a gentle kiss to the crown of your head.
you giggled, blushing, “couldn’t have done it without you.”

❅✧˖°・:*:。・:*:・゚.𖥔 ݁ ˖ ❅✧˖°・:*:。・:*:・゚.𖥔 ݁ ˖ ❅✧˖°・:
you’re at your parents, it’s early (to you) around ten am and you’re outside in the backyard. It’s the night after the annual Christmas party your parents threw, you crashed here at their residence that they’ve owned for around three years now and it still didn’t quite feel like home. You could say California never did, it didn’t give you the feeling of sunny superstar dreams and wonder—it turned out to be just another mile you can simply tick off from your odometer.
it’s funny how you never had the desire to be in this state in the first place and here you are living here for the past six months. You’ve been a few places since La Push,(Oregon, Minnesota, Maine, and finally residing in British Columbia prior) spending a good twenty years there before deciding to look elsewhere. You left before your family did and it wasn’t ever a competition but they can honestly say you’re the influence that pushed them to see more.
Everything of course was not all fun and games outside of the world you once knew but you wouldn’t completely rewind and start over. Some things needed to be done to figure out where you truly had to be. Which was your answer for it all but that came with tears you couldn’t hold back as you finished off a cupcake.
The end of the year was so near and yes you were thankful to be closer to your family again and the sprinkle of success this year brought to your table but there always seemed to be something still missing that you couldn’t shake. You’ve grown accustomed to everlasting change in your life—I mean the supernatural world can get pretty wild no matter where you went but you knew how to get adjusted after some time. Yet you couldn’t explain the puffiness on your face to yourself although those deemed it as good sleep. Waking up in tears was not what you expected the day after spreading joy but the cool plunge from the winter air soothed you just fine.
Wrapped in a blanket, staring out into the pale yellow sun behind the haze of blue, you’re chewing the last of the soft cupcake, lost in your own feelings that you don’t even register your name being called. Standing in the middle of the slightly messy backyard, you take your time glancing over your shoulder at the mention of your name and feel your breathing hitch.
Behind your father is a face that you’re all too familiar with. Then it all starts to make sense as a once cautious glance turns into a famous grin that always meets his dark eyes. You’re supposed to be cleaning up the backyard but instead you’re running full speed into the tender arms of a person dear to your heart.
Seth Clearwater.
Your eldest friend who you had the best time getting in touch with over the last year. How ironic is it that he’s been living in California all these years? Information that your parents left out although your dad talked to Charlie and Sue often. Perhaps that was their way of protecting your heart? That Seth was once upon a time a brushed off subject that most refrained from bringing him up. He was disappointed that you were leaving five years ago and you tried your hardest for him to go along with you but Seth wasn’t ready to leave La Push behind for good like you were.
You were both on opposite ends. You finished community college and you were accepted into another school in a different state but those two years felt like enough for you. You had savings for traveling and that’s what you did, to find a better sense of yourself outside of what you’ve always known.
Unfortunately that included Seth.
You tried to keep up with postcards, phone calls, emails, and texts but that just became a reminder that life went on without each other in it. Something you both had to accept although the sadness was hard to beat until you both learned to stop thinking as much.
Perhaps you never really did.
“Thought you couldn’t make it!” Your head is buried into his shoulder as you squeeze him tightly.
You haven’t seen each other since you were both twenty, reconnecting through social media after Seth decided to hop back on and it was shocking to hear that he and Leah were both making an attendance to your parents home, flying and driving in that Friday. The dejection was evident on your face when Leah was at the door alone and she made blunt attempts (in Leah fashion) to soothe over the sting. She was very vague and so was Sue—which was not like her now looking back on it.
Seth was expecting a text from you, questioning about his whereabouts but was met with radio silence which said enough. He was quick to question everyone else in the family group chat but sue was more reassuring than his step-dad Charlie and big sister were.
He chuckles as he wraps an arm around you, “Fooled ya, didn’t I? There’s no way I’d bail out completely. Just got wrapped up in some last minute things on the holidays, which sucked but I’m here now to see you.”
Lifting your head you stare up at Seth, scanning over his features which were still there, just defined as he stood in his adulthood, with his hair much longer and free on his terms.
“I’m glad.” You offer a smile, which felt tight against your slightly swollen face, “and also can’t believe it! When Leah told me something came up, I actually wanted to head back home.”
“Aw well…I’m glad you didn’t.” Seth informs, “I hear you have a strange roommate according to your dad.”
You glance at the space where your dad once stood and scoff. “Melvin just…loves his reptiles. He works at a pet store and I told him that as long as he has a good watch on them and I don’t get bit by any of them to the point I’m unalived then…it’s cool with me.”
Seth raises his brows, “Wow…I’m impressed.”
“What? Why?”
“If I remember correctly you were afraid of the simplest of things like: crickets, dragonflies, and butterflies. Now you’re telling me you live with reptiles?” Seth quizzes with a smirk.
You shrug, “you can’t hold the past against me! I’m experienced such growth and we have time talk about everything right?”
Seth briefly cups your cheek, before slipping it to rest against your blanket covered shoulder, “as much time as we need.”
One thing about Seth Clearwater, he’s always been sincere and that hasn’t changed in the last five years.
“I have something for you,” you say disappearing into the house, ignoring the stares from your dads’ to grab the item before heading out back once more, “here we are.”
Seth lowers his head a bit as you get the item settled and he peeks up with a grin, “Did you make me a tinsel crown?”
“You may have missed out on the shenanigans last night but I saved you one just in case,” you tell as Seth models the shiny crown in the backyard while you clap in approval.
Seth sighs, “thanks for thinking of me…care to take a stroll and tell me everything?”
He holds his hand out, awaiting for your grasp and you don’t hesitate because you know that Seth will share the same as you make laps in the backyard together. Arm now looped with his, head resting against his shoulder as you take turns telling each other just how much you missed being side by side.
The looks of longing passed between the two of you, which answers the questions the final month of the year brings: you’ll always be the best part of each others lives no matter what the distance may bring.
Seth’s warmth and compassion reminds you that, the blues—you didn’t realize that you even had—don’t deserve a place here.
He does.

Unpopular Opinions: Twilight Edition
Tumblr media
Jacob and Leah were the surprise couple we should have gotten at the end of twilight.
Yes, I am glad they ended up becoming cordial in the end, but I would have been happier if they had been in a romantic relationship.
In Breaking Dawn, Jacob sees a new side of Leah, a new side of her that he respects, and I wish for a new side that he would have ended up loving. I hoped that he would have seen how he and Leah were not so different, and he apologized for how she was treated. And she apologizes for taking it out on him And sees that they have a lot more in common.
But to me, although Jacob ending up with Leah does seem a bit cliché, and he (along with everyone in that franchise) didn’t deserve Leah, and she deserved more than being someone’s second, but there dynamic, also made more sense. They were both loyal; Jacob loved her brother like his own. When they were not on good terms, he was protective of her because he was protective of everyone in his circle. After all, it was right, and even though they didn’t like each other at first, at the end of the day, she was in his pack; she was family. Like, everything that Leah endured, he ends up going through as well, in a way (Even though Jacob does so many wrong things, I cannot lie and say he hasn’t been wronged too.) Like her, no one seems to sympathize with the fact that he is heartbroken; he takes it out on pack, and like her, he ends up becoming out-casted because of it.
And the fact that Leah can see everything that he is going through it makes sense as to why she doesn’t like Bella because she saw the times Bella rejected him; she saw that Jake was in love with this girl even though he knows it will never happen, she saw that Bella knew how he felt and just led him on. She saw that the unhealthy obsession was ultimately going to ruin his life, and in a way, almost did, and she understands loving someone you can not have, and to me, in a way, she is kind of protective of Jake. Yes, Jacob didn’t deserve her, but I have liked it if Jacob started to realize that he needed to grow up and move on.
I would have loved to have him and Leah imprint on each other, if not be romantic soulmates, but then best friend soulmates; they look up to each other, and Leah guides Jake to be better, as does he to her.
Or instead of imprinting, they both break the cycle, fall in love on their own terms, and leave forks together.

oh bill, i love you so...
Billy Black and Sarah Wilde get engaged. on ao3 here.
1984.
La Push, Washington.
The trip had been shit, the entire last three months of fishing had been shit. Not a single catch was worth the amount he spent on diesel. This time Billy would be lucky to get two hundred bucks for a week worth of work. He was halfway to Mexico — off the recommendation of Harry Clearwater who had caught enough bluefin to pay his rent for the rest of the year — when the engine started to click…again. Last time that had cost him almost a grand in parts and almost a month in a dry dock.
At this point he would be better off sinking the thing, taking the insurance payout, and working at the gas station for the rest of his life. He had missed last month’s insurance payment. It was between that and the slip fee. There went another one of his plans.
The boat pulled into its slip, the clicking louder and louder, like a time bomb, until he cut the engine. Then it was hauntingly silent.
Anxious to get to shore before the entire thing exploded, Sarah wouldn’t get his life insurance anymore, he tied the knots quickly, looser than he should have. Maybe he’d get lucky and it would drift out to sea, he’d have no other option than to work at the quick fill or maybe he’d get a job at the bait shop telling hobbyists what lure to use when he couldn’t manage to catch anything himself.
He threw the nearly empty cooler onto the dock, a week of exhaustion meant the cooler flew right over the dock and into the harbor, his spoils spilling into the sea. The gulls which had followed him in from a mile out, anxious to get spoiled bait descended on the gourmet feast. He cursed under his breath, watching two pelicans fight over a halibut larger than both of them combined. He threw his laundry bag onto the dock, which landed perfectly dry, because of course it did.
After he locked the boat up, although there was nothing to steal he didn’t need to find a sea lion in his bed, he jumped onto the dock himself. He landed wrong, not in the water, but his ankle rolled under him. Another expletive as he analyzed the sprained ankle.
He needed a drink. He needed a stiff drink. Hell, he’d take the bottle.
Sarah hated alcohol, so he rarely drank, but she wasn’t here. She was almost four hours away, ignoring his proposal.
When she got the almost full ride to the University of Washington there was no question she had to take it. She had offered to stay, to go to Pensiula instead, they would be able to see each other more often. He wouldn’t hear it. At that point, they had been dating for almost five years. They had started as two dumb middle schoolers who didn’t know a thing about love and then in the blink of an eye his grandmother was giving him the family ring and Mr. Wilde was asking when he was going to get serious.
He let her go without asking, he figured it would be easier that way, and it was until it wasn’t.
She had less than a year left, it might as well have been a death sentence for him. They hadn’t seen each other in months.
He couldn’t pinpoint the exact moment he decided to send her the ring, instead of waiting until they saw each other next. All he knew was two weeks ago he had driven down to the post office in Forks, wrapped the ring box in three dollars worth of bubble wrap, stuffed the package in a far too expensive cardboard box, tucked a simple note inside, and paid for overnight shipping for the first and only time in his life.
He waited by the harbormaster’s phone for three days, waiting for an answer to a question he had asked in a hundred unspoken ways. His boat bore her name, a deteriorating friendship bracelet that had never left his wrist since she had made it many summers ago, he spent every Saturday evening eating dinner with her family. It was a question he had waited to ask until he couldn’t anymore.
It was a question she had yet to answer. They had spoken on the phone twice since he sent the ring. On the first call, she hadn’t gotten the box yet, on the second call she had just picked up her mail but had yet to open the box but she promised she would as soon as she could.
They hadn’t spoken since. She had left a voicemail that she had gotten full credit on all her finals and she was excited to finally have a weekend off, she was doing something he didn’t quite catch with her friends. No mention of the ring.
He slung his laundry bag over his shoulder and fished his cooler out of the empty slip next door. A gull lunged at his hand, a half-eaten mackerel still hanging out of its mouth. He averted the attack and started to wheel his cooler down the gangway.
Someone in the parking lot was blaring their radio, some kids who should have been in school. He was barely twenty. Two years removed from being one of those rowdy teenagers ditching last period to linger around the harbor and he was already a cynic. They had warned him the sea would turn him cold, would take everything he ever loved until it swallowed him too, but he hadn’t listened.
A car horn honked. He didn’t look up. The kid probably bumped it, clamoring into the backseat doing something they shouldn’t. Billy had found himself in that situation before. Never in broad daylight, he’d been smarter than that. Well, Sarah had been smarter than that.
The horn blared again, longer much more intentionally this time.
“William Black Junior!” His head shot up. No one used his full name…except one person.
Sarah Wilde was leaning against the hood of her car, doors open, radio blaring. Much too far away for his liking.
“What are yo-”
“Listen to the song,” she shouted across the harbor.
He stopped, dropping the cooler by his feet. It was an old song, he’d heard it before, years ago, probably on one of his mother’s cleaning records. He didn’t know the song well enough to understand why Sarah had shown up unannounced simply to play him the song.
“ I was on your side Bill when you were losin'
When you were losin’”
He was certainly losin’ at the moment. He opened his mouth to speak again, and Sarah simply held out her hand to quiet him.
‘I'd never scheme or lie Bill there's been no fooling
There's been no fooling
But kisses and love won't carry me.’
Sarah was now holding a small box in her hand. Was it the same box he had spent a small fortune shipping to her? No. It couldn’t —
“'Til you marry me, Bill
I love you so I always will.”
Waves were crashing against the jetty behind him, threatening to drown out the song.
She opened the lid of his grandmother’s ring box, picked out the small heirloom ring, and slipped it on her left ring finger. The whole time singing along to the woman on the radio lamenting about her own Bill.
“Yes?” Billy stammered.
“You thought I’d say no?” She yelled over the gulls and radio.
“It took you two weeks to respond!” He shouted back.
“You sent me a ring in the mail. Who does that?”
“How else was I supposed to get it to you?”
“Just kiss her already!” An old man shouted from the dock across the way.
Sarah laughed, leaning into her car to turn down the radio as the song ended. Billy smiled to himself, picking up his empty cooler and full laundry bag and starting down the creaky gangway.
The short walk felt like a marathon.
He unlocked the harbor gate and was promptly greeted by arms latching around his neck. He dropped his cooler again but caught something, someone, much better.
The two broke the kiss when they were interrupted by cheering. From the docks, the nosy fishermen who had pestered him about settling down clapped, he could hear a few jokes about the big mistake Sarah had just made. He was too happy to care. From the small fish and chip stand by the shore came a roar of applause, from some of their best friends: Harry Clearwater, the head cook of said fish and chip shop, Sue Uley, and Billy’s best friend since third grade, Charlie Swan, who had been the first person Sarah called and the only person’s blessing she asked or cared for.
“You reek,” Sarah smiled, hands clutched on the lapels of Billy’s jacket.
“That’s me?” Billy asked, feigning innocence. He smelled like a bait box.
She laughed, a laugh he had missed more than land.
“You’re not quitting school,” he said, thumb brushing over her hand, settling atop the diamond.
“Can you stop worrying for one minute?” She grinned, leaning closer for another kiss. He happily obliged.
“Hey,” Harry shouted. “I have world-famous fish fry in here, come on!”
Billy looked up.
“It’s on the house,” Harry laughed.
“Alright then,” Billy smiled, slinging his arm around Sarah’s shoulders as they made their way across the parking lot.
They ate dinner happy as could be, and for the first time in his life, without a worry in the world.
----
2000.
Somewhere in the Olympic Peninsula, Washington.
The Clearwaters had the children for the night. Sue had insisted he needed a night to himself. The last thing he wanted was to be alone. But, the one thing he wanted more than anything a month after he had received the call which stopped his heart was to break down. He refused to do this in front of anyone, let alone his children and so he found himself driving down the 101 at three in the morning.
That’s how he found himself driving down the 101 at three in the morning, sobbing. He had refused to get in a car for a week after the accident. But La Push was too small. Every single inch a reminder of her. Every street one she had been on. Every person, someone she had known, who looked at him with pity.
He needed out. He drove all the way to Astoria, without truly realizing it. He needed to make it back before school drop-off. He was in Quinualt, less than an hour from hom– the house, when the song came on the radio.
The truck swerved off the road and into the ditch as The 5th Dimension sang, ‘ I look at you and see the passion eyes of May .’
At some point, he managed to get out of the truck, hike down to the roadside phone, and call Charlie Swan. It was blurry.
An hour later a police cruiser, lights on, came to a screeching halt on the side of the highway.
It took Harry and Charlie till sunrise to pull the truck out of the ditch. Billy sat on the side of the road as they worked, working through a six-pack of Ballantines Charlie had brought. His first drink in fourteen years.
Charlie drove him home, without a question, Harry following in the now dented truck. They made it home in time for Billy to walk his kids to school when nothing else Billy Black was a man of his word.

8. VISIT
Tumblr media
AFTER THAT CHAOS, I TOLD MY FAMILY THAT I'LL BE VISITING AYLA WITH SETH. My family accepted it but Dad said not to be long. He feared that the Volturi will come soon. Seth did call his mum and Charlie that I was coming over to Forks for a small get-together with the Cullens and I would be surprising Ayla when I arrived. The first part was partly true.
We arrived at Charlie Swan's house. I learnt from Seth that Charlie and his mother, Sue, are dating hence why she was living with him. I'm glad that Charlie won't be alone in Bella's new life as a vampire. Yet I wondered what he thought of Renesmee. Did he know about her or was he completely oblivious to her?
Seth was in his human form, wearing a beige hoodie with black jeans. I wore black clothes: a laced-sleeved top, leggings and small heeled boots. I also got my black leather jacket with me.
He knocked on the door and Charlie opened it. He looked at us with his chocolate brown eyes and his black hair was sticking up. He wore a patterned shirt with a plain white shirt underneath it. He also had black trousers - I mean, pants - with his hiking boots on his feet.
"Hey, kid," Charlie said and he hugged Seth. He lets him go and looked at me. "Hello, Violet, how are you doing?"
"I'm doing well, thanks," I replied. "I've heard that you and Sue are dating."
"Yep," he said with a loud 'P' at the end. "Sue and I started dating about a month ago and she moved into my house. Also, Ayla moved in as well."
"Is Ayla here?" I asked. I wanted to see her.
"Sue's just picking her up from school," said Charlie.
"We could surprise her," Seth suggested.
"Kid, she saw you every day," Charlie spoke.
"I meant to surprise her with Violet."
"Oh," Charlie rubbed his chin. "That makes sense."
I laughed quietly. Then, Charlie allowed us into his home and we walked in. It remained the same decor as it was when I first came here. I thought since Bella moved in with the Cullens, he would have redecorated the place. We walked to the living and sat down on the sofas. The television was on the sports channel: football to be exact.
Same old Charlie.
"So, Violet," Charlie began to speak. "What have you been up to in London?"
"Well, you know," I began. "Enjoying the rain."
Charlie and I laughed. Seth let out a small chuckle.
"Hey, Angela's dad said you're in Oxford now?" Charlie resumed.
"Y-Yeah," I said and blinked. I moved my shoulders to appear like I was breathing. "Literacy. The class is studying... The Phantom of the Opera."
"Isn't that a musical?" Seth asked, joining in.
"It is, but it started as a book first," I answered, looking at the small man, and back at Charlie.
"Is that about some opera singer that was trained by a disfigured man?" Charlie asked, curious.
"Yeah, but she didn't know that," I said. "You should give that a read one day. It's pretty good."
"Maybe I will, maybe I won't," Charlie sipped his bottle. "I'm not into books."
Then, the door opened. We looked at the door and Seth's face lit up with happiness. We saw Ayla and a middle-aged woman coming in. The woman had a has a thin face with black eyes and black hair. Her hair was cut in a short, severe style. Her skin was a rich copper tone like Leah's. I concluded that she was Sue Clearwater. She looked at me with her stern eyes and her mouth smiled a bit. She didn't seem to show hatred towards me like Leah did the first time we met. Although I think she was smiling just because of Seth and Ayla.
My gold eyes spotted Seth racing to them and hugging his mother and girlfriend.
"Hi, Mom, hi, Ayla," he greeted them one by one as he hugged them.
"Hi, Seth," Ayla said and caught a glance at me with her brown eyes. "Violet!"
She smiled widely and he immediately let her go. With that, Ayla sprinted to me, her blonde hair swaying. Her arms opened and wrapped around me. Her warm body pressed against my cold body. And Ayla didn't seem to be annoyed about my body temperature.
"Hey, Ayla," I greeted happily to her. We hugged for about five seconds and we released each other.
"What are you doing here?" Ayla asked me.
"I'm visiting the Cullens," I replied.
"Oh, speaking of them," Charlie spoke up. "Have you met R-Renesmee yet?"
"Yeah," I answered, nodding. "Yeah, I have."
"Quite a remarkable kid."
Yeah, she sure was. I turned my eyes to Seth's mother and she looked at me. I didn't know if she hates me or checking that I won't kill Charlie.
"Where are my manners?" Charlie got up from the sofa. "This is Sue Clearwater, Seth's and Leah's mother. Sue, this is Violet Baxter."
I cringed at 'Baxter'. That was the name I disowned months ago.
"You remember Gavin and Evelyn Baxter?"
"Of course," Sue replied, his voice softly coming out. "I was friends with your mother. I'm sorry about your father."
I simply bowed my head to her as we stood in silence. Then, Ayla eased the tension.
"Hey, Charlie," she said. "Can I show Violet my room?"
"Sure, kid," Charlie replied. "It's technically your room. You could do whatever."
Ayla grabbed my arm and led me upstairs. Seth followed us like a puppy.
"Nice to meet you, Ms Clearwater," I said and we reached upstairs.
We walked to the plain door and Ayla opened it. I saw that they redecorated Bella's old bedroom. The pink and black patterned duvet was replaced by a whole light grey duvet. The pastel green wall was painted over by an ivory white. The bright white light was hanging on the ceiling in the centre. There was a long mirror standing near the window and there was a desk at the right side of the bedroom: pens scattered and books in a pile. Must have been for school. The only thing that didn't change was the bed frame. It was still the same wooden frame when I last visit human Bella.
"Wow" was my reaction to the room.
The door shut and I turned around, seeing Seth and Ayla side by side.
"So, Violet," she said. "Why are you here? I got the feeling that it's more than just seeing me."
"Are you happy to see me?" I asked.
"Of course I am. I just want to know if is there something else going on."
I sighed. I wished it was just that reason. "I'm sure you know about Renesmee?"
"Yeah, I've seen her a couple of times," Ayla replied. "Seth told me everything that happened with her." Then, her face dropped and a realisation hit her. "I didn't tell you that it was Renesmee that Jacob imprinted on."
"Yeah, and I was mad at him," I admitted.
"You scared Jake with your powers," Seth added.
"Seth," I bitterly said. "Not now."
I returned my focus to Ayla. "A vampire from another coven reported to the Volturi that Renesmee is an immortal child..."
"But Bella was human when she gave birth."
"Exactly. So Carlisle asked my family and me to stand with him as a witness. To say that she's a hybrid. Plus, other vampires are going to help him as well."
"Then I'll help too," she said confidently.
"Ayla," Seth's worried tone voiced. "It's dangerous."
"I'm a Child of the Moon, Sethy," she looked at him.
"Ayla, he's right," I defended him. "There will be other vampires, yellow eyes and red eyes, covens, the lot. And I don't know what their general views on werewolves are. They might think that all of them are dead."
Ayla looked at the ground for a second and back up at me. "I guess you're right," she sighed. "Such a bummer."
"I know," I replied. "And also it's against the vampire law that we shouldn't even be near each other."
"That's not fair," Seth reacted.
"Hey, I didn't make the rules."
"Are you going to fight them?" Ayla then asked sadly. "The Volturi? Are you going to fight them?"
I pondered silently. What if a fight did happen? Would we win? Would we lose? Would we live? Would we die? Those thoughts saddened and I shook my head.
"No," I replied. "Carlisle said there won't be any fight."
"I sure hope not," Ayla said.
I turned my head and saw the sunset. Seth and Ayla followed my gaze and then we looked back at each other.
"You need to go back?" Seth asked me.
I nodded. Then, Ayla hugged me and I hugged her back.
"See you later, Vi," she said to my ear and we released each other.
I then hugged Seth and left her bedroom. I walked downstairs and said goodbye to Charlie and Sue before leaving his house. As soon as I was away from their sight, at full speed, I ran through the woods and returned to the Cullen residence.

Twilight Characters as Gods:
Tumblr media
Tag: @vampirism-and-slashers @oceansrose2002 @simpfordemetri @iloveslasher
Alice:
Alice is Hekate. Now I may be a little biased because Hekate is my matron deity, but I think Alice suits her well. Hekate is the goddess of good and evil, associated commonly with the moon. But what most people don't know is she is also the goddess of clairvoyance. Also had her "third eye" long before she was gifted with immortality. At first, her visions were quite distressing, but she grew used to them. Learned how to use them. I would say we are all very lucky Aro was unable to convince her to join the Volturi. Currently, Alice uses the gift to prevent evil, but she could just as easily use it to commit unspeakable atrocities. Aro knows this, which is why he's so despite having her. Alice's aloof and bubbly nature is because she is a child of the night. She plays amongst the ghosts like Hekate intended.
Rosalie:
Rosalie is probably the easiest, I believe she would be Aphrodite. It should be obvious why I chose her, Aphrodite is the goddess of sexual life and beauty. Even before she became a vampire, Rosalie was one of the prettiest women in town. She took pride in her looks and how she presented herself in public. But it wasn't cockiness, or arrogance, simply confidence. But with love, sometimes follows lust. And her first husband had a ravenous one. Rose feels as though love and fertility were taken from her, withheld as some sort of punishment for her actions. She doesn't hate her father for turning her, but she longs to go back to how she once was. Aphrodite was known to share her love, she believes strongly in the power of loving yourself before lusting for anyone else. In the scene where Rose helps Bella get ready for her wedding, you can really see it. She wants Bella to have what she couldn't, and doing this makes her happy in return.
Esme:
Esme is Hera. Hera is the goddess of Marriage, women and family. She is also the protector of women and childbirth. Esme's first marriage was arranged, it was something she had to do out of obligation and not love. He was abusive and she was forced to bear his child. But Esme attempted to make the best of it and fled, wishing to give her child the best chance at life. But ignorantly, just a few days after she gave birth, her baby died. Prone to depression, Esme wished to end her life, but Carlise offered her a better one. She is like Hera because she believes in the illusion of choice, marriage and family are sacred to her. In the end, she still became a mother. I believe that is why she was so happy when Bella fell pregnant because she knew that choice was taken away from her other daughter, Rosalie. She is an amazing mother and an even better grandmother.
Bella:
Bella would be Soteria. Soteria is the goddess of spirit, safety, salvation and prevention from harm. Although Bella herself does not execute caution, she affords that luxury to the people around her. One of the first things we hear Bella say in the film is. "Surly it was a great way to die, in the place of someone else, someone I love." Bella is a fierce protector of friends and family. And her powers are a literal manifestation of that. She is a shield. But more than physically, she makes people feel safe. Soteria has a sanctuary, a place where no harm can be done. Bella is Edward's sanctuary, she holds all the strings of his heart and keeps them locked safely away from harm, from himself. No matter how many times he tries to claim he's not good enough for her, she pulls him back in further.
Sue:
Sue would be Demeter. Sue Clearwater owns my bloody heart. Demeter is the goddess of agriculture and fertility. The Clearwaters are part of a Native American tribe. The land is very sacred in most of these cultures. It makes sense that she would reside over the land on the reservation. As a mother, fertility was vital for part of her experience. She gave birth to two children, and she loves them with everything she has. But giving birth wasn't what made Sue a mother, I believe even if her womb was barren, she still would have found a way to have kids. She is amazing at motherhood, and I think she, as well as Esme, are better role models for Bella than Renee ever was. The thing about Demeter is that Her children always come first. She neglected her duties as a goddess when her daughter went missing. She is the reason we have such harsh winters because she is not complete without her children at her side. Sue is much the same way.
Rigatoni:
Demon spawn would be the goddess Mnemosyne. Mnemosyne is the goddess of memories. We all know Renesmee's special power. Mnemosyne was also a goddess of inspiration. She is the mother of the muses, one of the most reverential creative groups in all of history. Renesmee connects with her father through their music. She's different with him than she is with anyone else, their communication style going deeper than most. Mnemosyne was in charge of the river Lethe,, a river of forgetfulness. Those who passed would drink from it so that they would not remember their past lives. Transversely, some drank from the river Mnenmosye in order to stop their souls from transmigrating. Renesmee can use her powers similarly, to bring fond memories or take those that would leave a scar.
Edward:
Edward would be Anteros. What can I say, I'm not the biggest fan of Edwerido over here. I think he would be Anteros because he is the god of requited love. Edwards's whole storyline is about how lonely and miserable he is before Bella. Carlise even tried to give him a mate because he couldn't stand to see his adopted son hurting so much. Anteros hated those who scorned love. Edward had to live for so long seeing all of his siblings find their mates, but not finding his until Forks. Instead of living his life before his soulmate came along, he wasted it away moping and being sorrowful. And when he finally meets his mate, he doesn't even think it's true. He doesn't believe she could love him and in the process, he tries to push her away. Edward feared love because he never believed he deserved it until Bella showed him how. I think of Edward as a sort of incubus, but instead of feeding on sexual desire, he thrives in a loving environment.
Emmet:
Emmet reminds me of Orion. Orion is the lesser-known son of Poseidon and Euryale. Orion's special ability is to walk on water. Now I know this trait isn't specified to Ememt, as he does not have any special abilities. But I find it rather interesting that vampires could just walk at the bottom of a lake or a river if they wanted to. Orion was also a well-known hunter. Emmet is the type of man who would want to provide for his family. He's also the first in line when it comes to protecting the people he loves. He has the spirit of Orion in him, with a touch of his arrogance too. But at least it's charming on Emmet. Orion was a hero and had a constellation named after him. Similarly, Emmet is popular around humans, and very difficult to forget.
Carlise:
Now you might expect me to say my boy Asclepius, but I actually believe Helios is a better fit for Carlise. Helios is the personification of the sun. Not be confused with Apollo, who governs the sun. Helios appearance is typical angelic in nature, being surrounded by a halo of light everywhere he goes. He was known to take oaths and promises very seriously, thinking them to be sacred. Helios has a hatred for those who spill innocent blood, and a thirst for venagnce. But this is the one point where he and Carlsie differ. While helios would choose to make those who wrong him suffer a terrible fate, Carlise shows mercy. I mean he started the whole "vegetarian" diet thing just so he wouldn't shed mortal blood. Because he, like Helios, views human life as sacred. The old Carlise, back with the Vultori would have been much closer to his godly counterpart. I believe that's was Aro finds so fascinating about him. His moral compass wonders, but never too far.
Jasper:
Jasper would be Pelios. Pelios isn't a very well-known diety, and neither are his parents, but I think that suits Jasper. He's not the biggest fan of attention, always attempting to blend in the best he can. Pelios was not originally a fan of his ability, thinking it more of a curse than a gift. Something Jasper felt when he was with Maria. With the ability to control emotions, came the burden of bearing them. An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind. Of course, through the years, Jasper learns to control it better, but the pain of the bad emotions doesn't get any easier. Pelios was made so that he does not have emotions of his own, forever forced to choose between feeling or not. Jasper, like Pelios would always choose to lessen the burden on someone else if it meant they could be happy.
Charlie:
Charlie, the absolute best boy, would be Virtus. Virtus is the god of bravery and military strength. Charlie is the only cop I like because I believe he would walk out the second any of his coworkers step out of line and abuse their power. He's in it for all the right reasons, he wants to keep his town safe, and his child safe. Unlike her lame excuse for a mother, Charlie would do anything for his child. Virtus was never seen in life without a male companion, and despite the relationship being platonic, Charlie and Billy are soulmates. Charlie is the only human in the town allowed to know the secrets of this world, and he faces them without fear. Charlie would fist fight a vampire, you can't tell me otherwise. He'd go all "Salem witch trials" on them and burn them at the stake in the middle of the town if it meant keeping Forks safe.
Billy:
The love of my life would be sweet little Fenrir. Fenrir is the offspring of Loki and a giantess. He is a large and menacing wolf. Similar to how Fenrir was forced to be caged, for the gods feared his strength, Billy too is caged. In the more literal sense, by his wheelchair. Many people think wheelchairs are "giving up" and take pity on those of us who use them. But this wheelchair is actually what gives him his freedom. But he's still trapped within the limitations of where his chair can take him. Metaphorically, Billy does not possess the wolf curse, though he did pass it on to his son. His wolf has been tamed like they did to Fenrir. Billy is already extremely powerful, as his knowledge and the sincerity of his heart make him dangerous. A man like him is willing to do whatever it takes to protect those he loves, which is why I think he wasn't given the ability to shapeshift. He doesn't need it.
