My history teacher has designated me the science representative for our class, a stem student in a sea of humanity students.

Someone asked me forever ago whether I think dnd arcana is humanities or stem and I thought about it way too much but my answer now is that arcana isn't humanities OR stem, it's more like natural philosophy. It's science as humanities. It predates separating mathematics from metaphor. I think it's about the connections and patterns you create by theorizing the abstract layer that surrounds the material world, impossible to pin down but uniquely meaningful because humans have thought about it

one (1) dynamic from a show I watched when I was 12 is has a stronger grip on me than it has any right to, multiversal strength gorilla glue-ass grip.
bayverse setting isn’t conducive to Venus’ mysticism background so uhhh... i guess they argue fantasy vs sci fi genres? idk who would wear big naturals better, Gandalf or Magneto.
zombies, star wars, and star trek are neutral ground

my humanities teacher to her partner (PhD in physics): ok but physics isn’t real. Like it’s all made up, if you really think about it. Sure, you calculated all that, but… how do you really know???
Him: *froths at the mouth*

I think you should adopt a strong prior that extensive discussion of the lack of value you find in something itself likely lacks much value. Unless the supposedly value-lacking thing is wasting some kind of resource and you are in a position to change that, it's probably pointless to spend a lot of time talking about things you already think are pointless. Because the main value in intellectual discussions is your own intellectual growth, and if you're right that a thing lacks value there is likely to be little intellectual value you can extract from dwelling on it.
In simpler terms: you will probably have more interesting and productive discussions, on average, if you talk mostly about things that you think are meaningful and important.

I dont disagree with the point of this post esp bc its not really about christianity but this does come across as a strange binary to debunk when its kind of just factually true

I went to the zoo yesterday! Last time I went to ANY zoo was back in middle school. I had a great time and I'll have to plan a sooner visit next time.
But I'll need to get a camera will an actual zoom next time I go!! These are the best photos I got!
Coolest bit was getting to see the keepers target train the polar bear. I watch those behind the scenes zoo shows on TV and it was soooo cool to see what they do on TV all the time.

I know this is the arts and humanities website but I just want to say. The humanities aren't universally easy. Different people's brains work differently and take to different subjects differently. My brain really clicks with biology and I find math alright but really struggle in the arts. Just because the humanities come naturally to you doesn't mean its easy for everyone

It would be a shame if you were a dark academia masc who looks like a boy but is anything other than a boy and we became enemies to lovers. So tragic... I definitely don't want that...

Connected to prev post:
This is also another contrast between Sonic and Shadow as characters.
Shadow’s formative experiences with technology and industry pertained to preserving life, specifically Maria’s, and purportedly the betterment of mankind; it was later, when GUN raided the ARK, that he learned how technology can be wielded as a weapon.
Sonic’s just the reverse; Eggman’s industrialization stole his friends and destroyed the biome’s he called home. It wasn’t until he met Tails that he saw how tech might be used for good.

not to be a loser stem freak during these times* but, that post i rbed just now where ppl are trying to pick apart boiling water is like. chemistry needs to be taught better bc omg. im not saying the general public need to be experts in thermodynamics and kinetics. im saying these are things that should've been explained in a basic physical science/chem class and at a certain point u can't just keep using the excuse that the school systems are shit...
