Lightsaber twirls are just sooo satisfying. Such good eye candy. Can you imagine dual lightsaber Rey with her new lightsaber & Kylo Ren's lightsaber 🥵
She could have her old TLJ hairstyle back (which NEVER should've changed!!!)
Have a mix of her old TLJ outfit & Kylo Ren's outfit because that would look perfect on sooo many levels. Have her go to everywhere Ben has been because of their DYAD connection being so powerful. Have her mourn in solitude but keep putting on a brave face for The Rebellion & The New Republic until she decides it'd be better to abandon a cause she doesn't believe in.
She'll make enemies out of even the most loyal of her friends like Finn, who wouldn't think bringing back Ben at all is a good idea despite him wanting Rey to be okay.
She'll make unexpected allies, like Rose (who'd be her biggest cheerleader), Ahsoka Tano (you know Dave Filoni will find a way to have them meet), and Kreia. Who would be more questionable in terms of morality. Like The Illusive Man in Mass Effect 2.
I'd love to see her make Vader's castle on Mustafar, her secret hideout when she turns to the dark side. I'd also love to see her make Naboo, her permanent home to get away from everything with Ben when all the fighting is over.
She'd take very good care of The Millennium Falcon & make sure to keep Kylo Ren's saber in the best condition possible with her scavenger knowledge. She'd make sure Ben has a beautiful home to come back to.
I'd love to see her be playful & vicious when she's using the dark side. She'd love overpowering her enemies like Kylo Ren. Stabbing them in the chest & hitting them with lightning if she's feeling like making a statement.
Her fighting style would be a mix of Kylo & her own. She'd also use her blaster alot more.
She'd replace her staff with another blaster so she can dual wield both her blasters & lightsabers for the best weapon coverage.
She'd definitely become more interested in learning about The Force & Kreia would be the best Force user that I could believe still lives on in The Sequel Trilogy.
Thrawn definitely seems like he could be a good endgame villain especially if we get to see Reylo vs Thrawn.
Imagine if we got Dark Rey & Ben Solo vs The Rebellion & Thrawn?
Like Dark Rey is fighting The Rebellion while trying to get to Ben Solo who's escaping Thrawn's new empire?
What if Mara Jade comes back into canon to help Rey because she hears that Rey is Luke's padawan?
I'd definitely have Rey assemble a new crew for the sole purpose of bringing back Ben & protecting the galaxy. Like Mass Effect 2 but Star Wars. Now I'm just thinking of a game that would let you play as Dark Rey lol
Anyways, Rey has unlimited potential going forward as long as she's handled correctly.
Rian Johnson should definitely get a chance to make a Reylo show on Disney+

Y’know one change that would have made the sequels infinitely better? Something that would have sealed up so many plot holes (at least plot holes that I saw?)
If the family Rey was waiting for on Jakku had been the Jedi.
Okay imagine: the first order is rising and no one is taking the seriously. They are building statues to emperor palpatine and talking about the good old days. People say they’re harmless but the ones who suffered most from the empire know better.
And there’s Luke Skywalker who is running a new jedi order. He’s got like… 50 jedi masters who were younglings/ padawans of the order before order 66 but that’s no where near enough to train the new younglings one on one so he improvises. The oldest, first wave of students can take on younglings just to teach them the basics. He pairs up every padawan/ youngling. This creates serious bonds, different than master/padawan bonds but a big deal.
However they’re not safe. Even a few of the older padawans are starting to think things like “but Vader turning to the dark side gave him the strength he needed to destroy the sith. The chosen one was a Sith.” And that’s not good. But what’s worse is the first order.
Then one of the masters has a vision. The first order is coming for them. So Luke decides to hide the younglings and padawans away on remote planets. Here’s how it’ll work.
Once the threat is over and the masters find a new, secret place to hold the order they’ll send out a message and a map. One half of the map goes to the older padawan, the other half to their youngling they were paired up with. The older padawan goes and gets the youngling, they put the map together and find the rest of the Jedi.
The younglings are just instructed to hide and wait. Someone will come for them.
So Rey waits. She knows someone important is coming. But she can’t remember who exactly because she was so young. So she just waits for her family. But no one ever comes.
Because Ben Solo was the older student she is waiting for. And he fell. That’s how Kylo Ren has half the map. That’s why they’re a “force dyad” and that’s why there’s half a map just chilling on Jakku.
I’m sorry but wouldn’t that be so much more heart breaking? To wait on a planet for years for someone. To be told the harsh truth that they’re never coming back. That she has to go out and find where she is supposed to be on her own? And then for her to discover she spent all those years away from her family because Ben Solo never came for her? Forget “he killed Han Solo, who I saw as a father” that’s one hell of a reason for Rey to hate Kylo Ren.
I just think that’s such an easy way to make the sequels so much better. It keeps the heart of what the sequels were trying to do while fixing some plot issues and creating more tension and context in Rey and Kylo’s relationship.
Because if the force is all about emotion and soul, why would you be connected to someone you’ve barely met? But imagine growing up and learning about the ways of the force together? I feel like that would create one hell of a connection.

Ross’s quote about the Avengers ignoring sovereign borders comes up a lot and is often used to accuse Steve of American imperialism, so let’s have a look into it.
You've fought for us. Protected us. Risked your lives. While a great many people see you as heroes. There are some... who would prefer the word "vigilantes". What would you call a group of US-based, enhanced individuals, who routinely ignores sovereign borders and inflict their will wherever they choose and who, frankly, seem unconcerned about what they leave behind them?
Sooo. Civil War was a terrible piece of world-building. The first problem is that it came way too early in the franchise, not just for the fracture between Tony and Steve to be anywhere near meaningful, but also the number of missions preceding this that would actually fit Ross’s accusations.
Let’s look at all the MCU movies so far leading up to Civil War:
Iron Man 1-3
Captain America 1-2
Thor 1-2
Ant-Man
Avengers 1-2
Hulk
(Guardians of the Galaxy)
Cap 1 took place in WW2, Cap 2 took place mostly on US soil, with the exception of the Lemurian Star which was a SHIELD mission. Thor wasn’t part of Civil War but he was dealing with extraterrestrial threats that came to Earth. Avengers 1 similarly - the only time the team was out of US was to confront Loki in Germany, and again that was under the supervision of SHIELD. Ant-Man also happened in US territory.
The only person on the team who “routinely ignores sovereign borders and inflict their will” without any oversight was Tony. He did it in IM1 against the Ten Rings. In IM2 he opens the movie with:
I'm not saying that the world is enjoying its longest period of uninterrupted peace in years because of me (...) I’m not saying that Uncle Sam can kick back on a lawn chair, sipping on an iced tea because I haven’t come across anyone who’s man enough to go toe-to-toe with me on my best day.
It is implied - the showing was done in the first movie - that Tony continued his "peace-keeping" activities which consisted of zipping into other countries and blasting everything with fire.
Never forget that even Rhodey assessed Tony as:
As he does not operate within any definable branch of government, Iron Man presents a potential threat to the security of both the nation and to her interests.
Operating outside the law was started by Tony, not by Steve or any of the other (original) Avengers, most of whom were working for SHIELD until they had to bring it down themselves to stop Hydra from killing millions of people.
The narrative problem lies in the vacuum between Captain America 2 and Captain America 3. Avengers 2 deftly avoided discussing who was overseeing their operations, and by the time Cap 3 rolls around they're suddenly a privately operated group of vigilantes?
Speaking of Avengers 2, that's the time someone decided to make a “global peacemaking initiative” without involving his team, much less the global community.
Bruce Banner: So you're going for artificial intelligence and you don't want to tell the team.
Tony Stark: Right. That's right, you know why, because we don't have time for a city hall debate. I don't want to hear the "man was not meant to meddle" medley. I see a suit of armor around the world.
Tony knew the ethical implications and the risks of this but forged ahead anyway. Said murder-bot went all over the world intent on human extinction while the Avengers tried to chase him down. We can argue over whether it was appropriate for Avengers to intervene with Ultron before waiting for the UN to have their emergency committee hearing in 3 days, but I think the key is the Avengers risked their lives to tidy up Tony's their own mess, which is what accountability and dealing with the consequence is all about.
And that's the crux of Steve's argument, which I think a lot of people gloss over.
We are (giving up) if we're not taking responsibility for our actions. This document just shifts the blames.
The Accords passes the buck upwards to the UN…this means both the decisions and the responsibility for the decisions go elsewhere. The situation that riled Tony up in the first place was a mother telling him “I blame you” for Sokovia. Assuming we ignore Tony’s role in creating Ultron, how would oversight have changed the situation? They wouldn’t have been able to create Vision off the cuff, nor would they have been allowed to recruit the twins. The people in Sokovia? Would still have died, and likely far more of them because of a slower response.
But what Tony is saying is if they had oversight, the mother wouldn’t have marched up to him and blamed him. Or as Steve points out, he could shift that blame onto the UN.
Steve’s version of accountability is about taking ownership of their mistakes and finding a solution. Tony’s version of accountability is having someone else make the call and take the blame. (* I feel like this is a thing a lot of people - often young - get confused about. Accountability isn’t just about having someone telling you what to do. Some people and some organisations find themselves in the rare position of having no direct oversight, but they still need to have accountability measures in place - look at the UN Charter for example)
Going back to my original point, the only one shown to routinely ignore sovereign borders and inflict his will wherever he pleases was Tony. The one operating outside government sanction for the majority of his appearances was Tony. The one actively seeking out “criminals” and trying to “win a war before it starts” has always been Tony. Tony might not be the one wearing the red white and blue but he’s the only one gloating about having done the job for “Uncle Sam”. The greatest advocate for American imperialism was Tony, not Steve.

My Bad Batch Musings
Sooo...after that scintillating Episode 9 with the resurrection of one of my fave SW antiheros, Ventress, we're heading into the final 6 episodes. Now my brain is busy processing all that's happened and pondering what will come before the curtain falls. No doubt the Lucasfilm team will be feasting on our fan tears with at least a few painful losses.
One thing that definitely comes to mind is that particular "filler" episode that featured the Batch dealing with the almost unstoppable Zillo beast. Said beast is almost assuredly somewhere in Hemlock's lair and methinks it will somehow get loose when the Batch and their allies come to break their clone brothers out:
Tumblr media
Such chaos that would ensue ups the odds that at least some of our heroes will escape. Maybe even Omega will be able to talk to it a bit via the Force to keep it from digesting her and her brothers in the process.
Some other things that could possibly happen by finale 's end are:
Tech is alive in Hemlock's lair, maybe the Batch finds him in one of the experimental labs. Tech also has the potential to be the CX shadow warrior, but I'm rather suspecting that's Cody instead. I'm pretty sure the CX is one or the other, but I believe the writers said that had something special lined up for Cody, so having him be brainwashed into a CX would certainly hurt Rex to the core.
I'm 99% sure that Hunter is going to die by sacrificing himself to save the rest of the Batch and Omega. After all, he's the leader, the main mentor to Omega, and oh how does Star Wars love to kill off the lead mentor character so the "mentee can grow."
There are not enough episodes left to be killing off other Batch members and give the audience enough time to process it. In Rebels, they killed off Kanan but no one else from the Ghost crew. We lost Gregor as well, but he was already a shell of himself at that point. Perhaps what happens in this last part of the series will set the stage for Gregor to start losing his mental stability.
There is no way they will kill off Omega (or her sharkpuppy, Batcher). Omega could go into hiding with Ventress and be part of the Path to help other Force-sensitive refugees and/or assist Rex with helping cast off clone soldiers in need. Because Omega is not mentioned in any existing canon yet as far as having much impact as a Force wielder (plus she's so devoted to the clones), it seems most likely she'll continue to support the clones however she can in all the aftermath.
I do think Hemlock will die or at least be set back very far in his research in the attack . After all, when we see Palpatine in the Sequel Trilogy, he doesn't look like he's in a younger cloned body, he looks like he's still his original, broken, body and it's being held together with machinery and probably blood/plasma pumped into him that has the M's he needs to stay on the brink of life. In this regard, everything the Batch has sacrificed to stall the genetics research and rescue their brothers from the prison will be evident.
I know we're getting more of Cad Bane and I won't be surprised if Fennec makes another appearance. Who know what other cameos might be in store, but I believe they will only appear if it makes logical sense for them to do so. For example, I would like to see Cid the traitor reappear in the picture and redeem herself somehow. We've also had reappearances of the Devaronians earlier this season so they could come into play in some fashion as the Batch and Rex call upon whomever they can in the planned attack on Tantiss. Maybe Saw Gerrera returns for this assault as well?
In the end, I am feeling confident there will be a major victory for Omega and her team, but it will come at a high price. For now, looking forward to chewing my fingernails during Identity Crisis this Wednesday!!

Word Count:2,227
Tags: Angst, Established Relationship, Firelight Member Jinx, Bittersweet
Summary:
"Am I your girl?" Jinx asked softly.
Ekko sat and stared at her for a minute.
The two cities was on a verge of civil war, Enforcers invaded The Lanes looking for her, and riots happens were an almost daily occurrence.
The world as they knew it was shattered because of her actions.
Author's Note:
As kids, Jinx and her siblings going out to do jobs while Ekko usually stayed behind.
Now as adults, Jinx takes Ekko to Piltover for the first time.
I completely forgot about this idea until I talked to @redrum-alice. Go check out their art! It's amazing🫶♥️
Thank you @su-univeralai for beta reading!
Fic's Playlist💚💙
It's been a few months since Jinx bombed the council chambers.
The Enforcers and residents have been on high alert ever since, never knowing when the blue-haired menace would strike again.
Her wanted posters were plastered everywhere in Piltover and Zaun, yet no one has seen her since.
A new, bigger barricade was built on the bridge. There was an influx of Enforcers patrolling the streets below and terrorizing The Lanes on a daily basis.
Unbeknownst to them, a monkey mask and owl were in the shadows peering over the edge of the highest roof.
Jinx chuckled as she zoomed in on them with her lens, she lightly smacked his arm. "Look at those dumbasses," her mask distorted her voice to be more high-pitched and robotic.
"Sooo busy monitoring the potential terror from below that they're clueless from the threat from up above."
Ekko hummed in agreement, "I remember. You told me that after you bombed the Enforcers, you strolled in to get the gemstone." His mask contrasted with how his voice modulator deepened his voice.
Jinx guffawed. "I did! Those dummies were so cocky by not adding extra security to their prized possession. But I showed them!" She bragged.
"And that you didn't have a disguise," Ekko added.
Jinx shrugged, "I already use spray paint to draw and trademark my work. There was no way I was gonna let some chump claim the biggest robbery in history."
He pursed his lips and faintly nodded as if to say, 'Fair enough'.
He stared up at the sky. The stars and moon were much more visible on this side.
Jinx took off her mask, inhaling deeply with a sigh, "Breathe in that fresh, Piltie air, Little Man. This was what you've been missing." She stretched her arms out and twirled.
Ekko did the same, their air was more breathable than the dense smog they were used to inhaling growing up.
He clenched his fist and glared at the sky. They've turned something as simple as clean air into a fucking luxury.
Her magenta eyes always glowed softly in the night, with small blue veins around the corners.
When he thought she died on the bridge a part of him died too. They were a permanent reminder of how even though he kicked the bomb, he failed to save her. Again.
You should have done better. She almost died. If you were successful then she wouldn't have needed shimmer to save her life.
Fuck, If you could have found another way of convincing her to leave Silco then we would have still been friends. We wouldn't have fought on the bridge in the first place.
Jinx's giddy chuckling brought him out of his thoughts. "You think I've become their version of the Boogie Man?"
The corners of his mouth twitched, "The Boogie Man?" He repeated wryly.
"Yeah, like," she stood upright with her arm behind her back.
"Listen to your parents, kids," She said in a gruff voice, wagging her finger as she paced.
"Do your chores, eat your vegetables, do your homework, and go to bed on time. Or else the big, bad Jinx will crawl through your window and get ya!" She snickered then cracked up.
She wore a wide, playful smile. He loved the small gap in her teeth and freckles adorning her face. It was adorable.
But back to the topic at hand, it made Ekko scoff.
Just yesterday while out in the market gathering supplies, he and his brothers helped intervene with Enforcers harassing a vendor and his family.
"I think they've been using us Zaunites as monsters for their bedtime stories for years. They just have a name and face to it now," He said.
"Besides, they're more a threat to us than anything. They've always been."
"Exactly!" She pointed at him. "They never cared about us. They've always ignored us until I made it known that we can fuck their shit up. We can ruin everything just like they did for us."
We.
He didn't doubt that someone from the Undercity could attempt to start another revolt on how mistreated they'd been for decades.
It just so happened that the one who lit the fuse was his best friend.
Ekko sat down with his arm on his knee, "Do you ever regret it?"
Jinx's eyes momentarily widened before they narrowed at him, "Why would you ask that? I know you aren't going soft on the Pilties."
His lips curled, and he wrinkled his nose, "Of course not."
"I know you wouldn't. But why would you ask that? I'm just confused."
"It's just that if you didn't, you wouldn't be a fugitive. You'd be free."
She would have liked that.
Her and Ekko, hand in hand without a care in the world. They would be able to go on dates like everyone else - doing a little PDA while they were at it.
They would have been able to go to more places than their Firelight base, shimmer raids, her hideout, and now atop a rooftop in Piltover.
She frowned then sat next to him, "It's true. I do miss being able to wander around like I used to." She linked their arms and leaned her head on his shoulder.
"I wish we could go on dates in public. You wouldn't have to worry about being arrested with me," She murmured then sighed softly.
She shook her head and quickly licked her lips before she got her answer out. "But, I don't regret killing them. Those bastards had it coming for years," She affirmed.
"If I didn't do it then someone else in The Lanes would have. I just happened to be the one brave enough to do something about it.
They don't treat us like people. They've always treated us like abused animals. They watch us struggle through cages, laughing at how uncivilized we are compared to them," she squeezed his arm tightly.
"They've enjoyed our suffering for too long. Enjoyed keeping us in check about who really is in charge of everything. There's only so much a person can take before they snap."
Her eyes seemed to glow brighter. Her lips pulled back into a snarl and her nostrils flared as she breathed heavily.
He didn't say anything for a minute and stared at her.
There was a threat of civil war between the two cities. Enforcers have flooded The Lanes determined to find the domestic terrorist. Riots between them and Zaunites were an almost daily occurrence.
He had one or three drinks - he loved his people, but sometimes he wanted alone time to de-stress - he was leaving the bar when he saw them.
The two women were searching for her.
Caitlyn relayed what happened at the canary, her hatred for Jinx was evident even under her calm tone. Her eyes were determined as she informed him about what happened.
They were a stark contrast to Vi, who had acquired bags under her eyes with her hair slightly mussed. She asked if he had seen her little sister anywhere.
Jinx told him about the tea party. He told them he hadn't seen her since that night on the bridge.
It was to protect Jinx.
It was also to keep both women safe from her.
The consequences of Jinx's actions were the reason why their entire world was on the brink of collapse.
Her heart stalled when he removed his arm.
What did I do wrong? Is he mad at me? Disappointed? I’ve never seen him disappointed in me before. There's no reason for him to. Is there? He wanted to know how I felt, and I answered honestly.
Gosh. This was supposed to be a date. Talking about the state of affairs of two stupid cities is definitely not romantic.
Her worries were quickly dispelled when he wrapped his arm around her shoulder, bringing her closer to him.
Maybe they should have waited. Then it would be that person's problems instead of Jinx's. But even then, she would still be wanted for murdering those Enforcers.
Ultimately, he couldn't change the past. He had to live through the present.
Despite everything that was happening, he loves her.
He was in love with her since he was fourteen, and he loved her now. No matter how messy things were, he would forever be thankful to have her back in his life.
She glanced at him and gently knocked her knee against his. He spread his legs to make room for her, she moved to sit in between them, resting her legs on top of his.
Her hand cupped his nape and the back of his head as she pressed their foreheads together.
"Am I your girl?" She asked softly.
He always thought he would die with his unrequited crush. He was too nervous to tell her as kids, then everything in their lives fell apart.
She wanted him out of her life, so they went their separate ways.
They only met each other on the battlefield. He knew it was foolish, but a part of him still longed and cared for her.
But seven years later, the impossible happened- a miracle if you will. They were currently entranced by the other's presence.
He cradled her cheeks, his thumb rubbing comforting circles. "You will always be my girl. Nothing will ever change that, Jinx. I promise," He asseverated.
She leaned into his touch and smiled, her eyes softening.
She already knew the answer, but her heart swelled with pride and filled her with such an immense amount of warmth in her entire being from hearing him confirm it.
She brushed a stray dreadlock from his eyes and pushed it behind his ear. She ran her tongue slowly across her lips.
She darted her gaze into his eyes, he closed them, his heart pounding in anticipation as he waited eagerly for her.
She placed her soft, purple lips tenderly around the edges of his mouth and lingered.
A decidedly pleasant shiver ran down his spine as her tongue slowly glided across his lower lip.
Her teeth caught onto his lower lip, gentle tugging switched to lightly sucking them. He felt her smirk on his lip as she drew out a quiet moan from him.
She had barely done anything, yet excitement burst within him as it was the first time they kissed.
It didn't matter how many times they did this, he always craved her. His heart, mind, body, and even his very soul belonged to her.
She was alive.
She was here.
And she loves you.
She wants you as much as you want her.
Only her.
She released his lip, faintly brushing hers against his.
He leaned in to finally connect their mouths, but he opened his eyes when she covered his mouth with her hand and wore a cheshire grin.
"You gotta admit though, I came up with the best date idea," She boasted.
He suppressed his groan of disappointment. She can be such a tease when she wants to be.
He rolled his eyes as he held her wrist to move her hand away. He let out an amused huff, "Alright. No need to make it a contest."
"Because you'd know I’d win." She gently wiggled his wide nose in between her fingers and then flicked it.
She giggled as she got up to stand and slapped a hand over her mouth to conceal her startled laugh. Ekko had smacked her ass as payback.
She glared at him over her shoulder. "Stop you perv! Gods," She chastised playfully, swatting his hand away.
He chuckled mischievously, biting his lower lip that failed to restrain his cheeky grin.
She shook her head and tittered. She's been rubbing off on him.
"Piltover this," she held her right hand and moved her hips in that direction. "Zaun that," she held her left hand and repeated the action.
"Forget about them!" She clapped her hands then spun around in his direction. "I feel like dancing!"
"But there's no music."
"Yeah, there is. Our voices can make music. It's called singing!"
He snickered, "Fair point. What did you have in mind, Sugarbomb?"
"Hmmmmm...." she pressed her finger against her lips, her eyebrows furrowed in concentration.
A grin broke out and she clapped her hands together. "I got it. Hold on," she cleared her throat and hit her chest for good measure.
"Fly me to the moon. And let me play among the stars," she gestured to the sky.
"Let me see what spring is like on Jupiter and Mars. In other words, hold my hand," she offered her hands.
Ekko held them and she helped him stand. She placed her hands on his shoulder as he put his on her waist.
"In other words," she looked at her boyfriend expectantly.
Ekko chuckled softly. "Baby, kiss me," He sang.
Jinx stood on her tiptoes to kiss his cheek.
They continued like that, singing to each other while swaying gently.
They got lost in each other's eyes and never wanted to be found.
Everything and everyone disappeared. Nothing else mattered because they were the only people in the world at that moment.
They could momentarily forget the harsh reality of the world as they danced.
They were a couple enjoying a romantic night under the moonlight and stars.
Two lovers.
A woman with her man.
A fugitive with her harborer.

if you'd like a distraction of some kind: what's an episode of star trek that you think is great, but is often overlooked by fans and why?
(This was from earlier this week and I really appreciate it!! <3)
I was just talking about this with a friend but Voyager's 'Jetrel' is sooo under discussed in almost every corner of Trek fandom - I'd say I don't know why, but I don't think the fans can be solely blamed here, because the show barely ever builds on what this episode sets up either! Which is a shame imo, because it's one of the most impactful Neelix episodes of the series- it really sheds a lot of light on why he is the way he is, how much of his jovial "just a silly little guy who's here to make you smile!" persona is born of severe trauma and pain- how the way he latches onto community building and overprotects Kes are quite literally trauma responses. It also raises very relevant questions about the complicity of scientists in genocide (which is so important in a franchise that usually espouses the healing potential of science). I'm sure some would disagree with the "I forgive you" scene (and quite honestly there is a pattern in Trek where characters are made to forgive their abusers and/or people who committed war crimes against theirs, I won't deny that) - but I'm honestly quite fascinated by it? I spend a lot of time thinking about forgiveness on one's own terms and the power of it, and I genuinely do believe different approaches work for different people (like I love that Kira never had a scene where she had to forgive Dukat for example, that would've been so demeaning for her character! She's someone who would live a long happy life if she never saw him again at any point during the show. But Neelix... he can't even handle one of his colleagues finding him vaguely annoying, I just get the feeling that he'd forever be haunted by this if he didn't get closure). Of course, I would never, ever, ever expect someone in his position to forgive Jetrel- but it doesn't surprise me that he'd want to, and I think that conversation is what allowed him to move on (I'm definitely someone who can't be at peace without forgiving, personally- I'm not sure how I feel about this mentality being uniformly perceived as weak! It's just different. Forgiveness =/= tolerance or acceptance of being treated badly or permitting/endorsing bad behaviour imo). Anyway I really wish the events of this episode had impacted Neelix's writing down the line more, and I would've loved more lore on Rinax- but as a standalone it's one that always stuck with me (I have a lot of thoughts on how Neelix and his "weird" ("alien") social habits, skillsets, perceived lack of boundaries- and yes, his tragic and expertly-hidden backstory- were very deliberately written in a way that invokes immigrants and people from the third world generally, and how his position both in Voyager's social circle and the reception of him among fans becomes very Interesting in this light- but that's a whole different conversation lol)

Sooo are we headcanoning (Is that a word?) that eddie loves art?? Does that mean art museum dates??
EM, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SENDING THIS! I had been struggling all day to write a fic to cope but I was too sad and this brightened my mood immensely. This is a scenario didn't know I needed in my life but NOW I can't stop thinking about it. And as an artist myself, you bet I got a little too excited, I had way too much fun putting this together. Prepare for a long ass post with references and everything!
Tumblr media
ARTWORK HE LIKES
His favorite artistic discipline would be painting and printing (he likes the graphic look of woodcuts and silk screen prints).
It’s canon that he has a print of ‘The Scream’ by Edvard Munch in his room from that scene in ep 8 where he goes 'THIS IS MUSIC!' , So definitely he might be his favorite and it makes so much sense because his artwork is super dark but also whimsical in a way. Edvard Munch's work is also inspired by his own depression and anxiety so I feel like Eddie finds reassurance in representing/expressing your feelings through art, be it visual art os music (in his case).
Tumblr media
I feel like his favorite artistic movement may be the German Expressionism from the early 20th Century. He relates to them because the artists of that movement were basically prosecuted for representing society in the inter-war period so crudely, so he admires that. His favorite collective is Die Brücke.
Tumblr media
But I definitely see him as a fan of Surrealism as well because of how many rock album artwork is based on that, primarily Pink Floyd’s albums.
He’d be a MEGA FAN of Mexican artist Remedios Varo because of her mystical paintings; her work is heavily based in tarot and magic. Bonus point that he thinks it's very metal for a woman to paint in a male dominated scene.
Tumblr media
He also likes these two paintings by Francisco Goya. The one of the right is titled 'Witches' Sabbath' so... it's a no brainer why he digs it lol!
Tumblr media
And likes Francis Bacon too because he says his artork is 'so metal'
Tumblr media
Now, that boy has spent most of his life listening to records while starring transfixed at the album covers, and Eddie would definitely be the kind of hardcore fan that knows all the little details about the production, down to the artist that designed the cover. So he’s a fan of the company Hipgnosis – who’ve designed the covers of a number of bands! Mainly Pink Floyd. Although their work leans more towards photography.
Tumblr media
Not by Hipgnosis, but his favorite Sabbath covers are these:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also I feel like Eddie definitely likes to draw, is the kind of guy that has doodles all over his notebook but he also has super detailed portraits and designs for his D&D characters and the potential artwork for Corroded Coffin’s logo and future album covers and I bet he designs their merch too.
MUSEUM DATES
I really don’t think there are art museums or galleries in Hawkins, so if you were going to a museum date I think they’d be out of town.
But as much as he loves art, I don’t think you’d go on a road trip specifically to go to a museum; I headcanon that his income comes from his drug deals but also working shifts at Thatcher Tire, mostly during the weekend, so you don’t have the necessary free time or means to take road trips frequently.
BUT, if there’s a concert in a nearby city that you guys really want to see, you make the trip worth it and make it a whole weekend affair.
You ditch school that Friday and hop on his van really early in the morning, all packed for the weekend, stocked up on snacks and with a fresh film roll on your camera, arriving just in time for the big show late at night.
I’m not from the U.S. so idk what else is near fictional Hawkins but from looking at the Indiana Map (and what I recall from my experience looking up band tour dates lol) I feel like the places you’d drive to for a concert would be either Chicago or Indianapolis.
Saturday is when you go sight-seeing around the city and the first stop is always the art museum!
You’d go to The Art Institute of Chicago or The Indianapolis Museum of Art
HAND IN HAND THE ENTIRE TIME
Obviously he’s excited to see the collections but is also excited to see whatever contemporary show they’ve curated each time.
Loves taking notes about the contemporary artists he sees (in his mind he’s building up a list of references for when Corroded Coffin is famous and they need a pro to design their album covers, because while he is good and has good ideas for them, he dreams of collaborating with a professional artist and supporting them as well!)
We know is a jittery ball and can’t ever be still for a minute so he’s the kind of guy to admire the works kinda quickly – he scans them over and if an artwork doesn’t capture him he moves on to the next in a flash.
But the ones that do catch his attention have him all transfixed – if he has to sit down to admire them he will, and he’ll comment on each little detail that makes it interesting.
But what he loves the most is making fun of the work! Not in a mean way at all, but he just loves to make it a fun experience. Despises the kind of bougie, condescending douches that like to feel all intellectual and superior when talking about a work a pompous manner
'Nah man, art is fun' art is meant for you to enjoy it, so you make fun of all portraits and does the voices of each character in a painting
“She looks like she needs to loosen up that corset,” “that one looks like my lunch after that one night I got drunk by myself and threw up on Wayne’s couch,”
He also points to the abstract or goofy looking characters in the paintings and goes, “that’s you”, “that’s me”, “that’s how we look like after when we get shitfaced together”
You’re laughing so hard that the guards are constantly shushing you all throughout and you get mean stares from the people, but you couldn’t care less
He definitely keeps the brochures of the exhibitions
And he’s super knowledgeable about art techniques in general, he goes, “oh these are acrylics,” , “this is from Picasso’s blue period”, “this was shot with kodachrome print,” etc etc etc. But he’s not condescending about it in the least and you’re always amazed by how intelligent and knowledgeable Eddie is, no matter how badly he does in school. He’s an actual walking Encyclopedia but everyone underestimates him.
ALSO PDA TO THE MAX. He constantly has an arm around you, hand inside your jean pocket, kissing in between each artwork that you see, and just random kisses on your temple/head as you walk by each gallery.
Loves photo-ops and is extremely excited when there’s an interactive exhibit!
If the menu isn’t expensive, you grab lunch in the museum’s cafeteria where you further discuss everything you saw. He loves hearing your opinion about the artwork and is specially keen on knowing what was your favorite
Because he gets it in a postcard at the Museum’s souvenir shop. He always gets you either a postcard or a tote bag.
You get him a poster for his room, pins, or a mug (to add to his and Wayne’s neverending mug collection that lines up the walls of their trailer).
And last but not least, you take pictures of each other all throughout! You get someone to take a picture of the both of you in front of a painting, or you take pictures of each other admiring the artworks, as well as pictures outside the museum gates.
On sunday you return to Hawkins, but now you have all so much to talk about on your way back, from the concert to the things you learned about in the museum <3

My fandoms, rated based on toxicity.
None of my opinions on shipping or anything will be shown here, for fear of my own life. Also please do not fight in the reblogs or comments.
Marvel- It’s so big that each different section could have it’s own rating, but honestly 9/10 we argue 24/7 lets be real
DCAU- 3/10 I haven’t seen much arguing, but that may be because I’m only part of the Justice League Unlimited section and I fall off the map around Batman Beyond
Star Wars- 8/10 Original Trilogy and prequels are fine but once you get to sequels it’s a dumpster fire of fighting.
Star Trek- 2/10 like Marvel there are a lot of different sections, and I usually land around the Voyager section but I have not seen much fighting at all
Hamilton- 8/10 I’m barely in this fandom anymore but Hamilton is a great example of how fanon can take something and go running with it, turning it into something it was not in the first place. Also, shipping wars everywhere.
SanderSides- 1/10 it’s really chill we really respect each other’s opinions over here. Except for RemRom arguments, nothing really goes on over here.
Glee- 9/10 *just screaming* She-Ra- 4/10 pretty chill Except for some fighting on the morality of some characters.
Owl House- 5/10 This fandom is pretty chill but there are some arguments when it came to the theories about what was gonna happen in the finale, and about who to ship Hunter with
HP Marauders- 6/10 Some arguing over fancasts maybe and some shipping stuff over Jegulus vs Jily, but honestly not as bad as the main fandom
HP Golden Trio- 9/10 Sooo many arguments over ships, wether the characters are minorities, headcanons, JK Rowling, transphobia, racism, homophobia, pedophelia, Anti Semitism, the games, etc. The fact that shipping only covers like 15% of the fighting is terrifying.
Amphibia- 4/10 I don’t know if there is much fighting about the shipping of the girls, but there is a lot of potential for arguing. And i’m pretty sure there is some arguing over morality of a few of the characters
Stranger Things- 8/10 There is a huge shipping war, and a couple of side shipping arguments.
Agents of Shield- 5/10 I think we’re fine but I could be wrong. There is a bit of arguing over who Daisy should’ve been with but eh it’s fine.
Marauders, Elizabeth’s Version- 1/10 We are sooo chill over here you have no idea lol

omg i think im so out of loop (never check any naruto blog aside from ones ive followed tbh for the past 2 years lmao) that i didnt know people have pointed out the similarities between vaderkin and tobito?? damn i thought i was all alone LOL 😭 (psss id be more than willing of course to listen to your take on their similarities and differences)
hi there! so i think others have done this extensively, i usually find such jokes / mini "thought pieces" on reddit (you can try r/naruto or r/dankruto and search relevant keywords) or youtube comment sections, and especially the YT vid from Death Battle, although other (smaller) creators have also posted (more serious) video essays about Obito, where Anakin / Darth Vader has been mentioned as a parallel to Obito's character :)
unfortunately i can't remember the exact video & all the information is a bit scattered, even in my brain lol, so the best i can do is point u to some sources 🥲
for instance, there are many YT video essays & even reddit posts on Obito's character & how misunderstood he is, like Swagkage's "Dissecting Obito Uchiha", "How Strong is Obito?", "Leave Obito Alone" (lol)
i'm not sure i can ever make a post listing all their similarities, esp when the Death Battle vid has already pretty much done that, and more comprehensively than any comment / reddit post at that, haha
you can also check their wiki for a detailed breakdown of the vid, but perhaps go straight to the Trivia section to see a list of their many similarities! :D
(of course as with all sources, there are some things i disagree with, for instance DB lists Obito as having "less combat experience" than Vader, but we actually don't know what Obito does during all those nigh 20 years that he was living as "Nobody" / "The Masked Man" / Tobi, i mean he could've been training and participating in duels, espionage, skirmishes, battles, etc., i mean he was the secret leader of the Akatsuki, the real Fourth Mizukage of Mist/Kiri, also basically the real leader of Land of Rain too ("Amekage" if you will?) since he is the reason Pain & Konan were able to overthrow Hanzō and the two take orders from him even if they are not loyal to him, so there could've been countless of combat / military and political missions he was involved in that happened "offscreen", and add to all that the fact he was a child soldier starting from around age 9 (when he became a genin and began taking on missions) and that, of course, he was a main player (war criminal! lol) as both fighter and strategist and military commander in Narutoverse's Fourth World War—but hey, the whole point of fandom & media is that there will also be multiple interpretations, so i see no point in "nitpicking" a fictional fight analysis lol)
maybe something new i can add is the meta parallel of how, in real life, vader's identity reveal was a plot twist that shook the whole of star wars fandom and beyond, shocking audiences & remaining iconic to this day
similarly, though i wasn't there (in the fandom or following the anime), at the time, when obito was revealed to be The Masked Man ("Tobi") in the anime, apparently sooo many streaming sites straight up broke down due to the sheer number of people immediately going to see the episode (guess there aren't that many manga readers compared to anime haha)
so yeah, vader broke cinema (insert martin scorsese meme), and obito broke the internet, quite literally 🤣
and these are just accounts from english speakers, who knows how much potentially crazier things got on chinese & japanese & other non-english sites lol
i might add some stuff if i have the energy to organize my thoughts more later on, sorry if this isn't the answer you were hoping for, but i hope the links & sources above can be helpful to you! :)

Do you mind if I ask your top 10 favorite characters (can be male or female) from all of the media that you loved (can be anime/manga, books, movies or tv series)? And why do you love them? Sorry if you've answered this question before.....Thanks...
Thank you for asking!!!!! Love a chance to talk about myself.
The way I got this ask and like IMMEDIATELY forgot any piece of media I have ever consumed?? If I forgot any of my faves... sorry to them!!
Also, a running theme for most of my faves is that they have overcome being otherized and/or trauma and came out being pettier and more self righteous, lol.
Uchiha Sasuke from Naruto. Pettiest bitch alive and he DESERVES IT! Should be pettier.
Wei Wuxian from MDZS/The Untamed. Went through hell, kinda literally, and did awful things but still chose to do the right thing, every single fucking time.
Fenris from Dragon Age. Watching him emerge from such an awful place and learn to let people in, while remaining sooo rough around the edges, was lovely.
Spock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! From both TOS and AOS, less so from Disco/SNW, because he's just so fucking funny and also watching him be so repressed and then be forced out of that repression is fun. I love him. Baby boy.
Joy from EEAAO. Loved watching her anger, loved watching her creativity, and I loved watching her anger make her mother change. I love that she was able to give up the anger because she was finally seen and her hurt was legitimized.
***** ****** from ******* ******** because *runs away*
NGL.... it's still my boy Edward Elric. In many ways, I should let him go. But he was my first rep of atheism in literally the funniest fucking way ("Yeah I've seen God but... nah.") and I still enjoyed his journey, even if I now have major issues with the narrative and apologism and recognize Scar as a far more compelling character than Edward. Sorry to everyone but when I saw Edward at age.... 13, I did not realize what war crime apologism looked like. At least I let go of stanning Mustang. Cause I wanted that man carnally for a long time.
Sook-hee from The Handmaiden. Watching her fuck shit up was cathartic.
I need to finish my watch through (bingewatching two seasons in a week was mentally taxing, tbh) but Flint and Max from Black Sails. Again... love a selfish character who has felt left behind by the world and so they take what they can from the world. They deserve it!
Recency bias I guess but I'm REALLY loving Frieren from... Frieren. Watching her learn to value other people while going around with her lil :3 face is nice.
I feel like this list is leaving a lot of faves out--my lovely Sailor Jupiter who I imprinted on like a baby duck and have carried in my heart ever since, Dimitri Fire Emblem, Qifrey, and probably so many more. The characters that I love just for horny reasons (Yae Miko, Kaveh, Tighnari my beloveds). Characters I love for their potential (Finn, Poe, and Rey from Star Wars)(Also Cassian but I guess I could love him more if I watched Andor but I will not be watching Disney+ shows.) Characters who I love now (Louis, Lestat, Claudia from IWTV the show) but haven't finished their arcs yet, so idk how I'll feel int he future. Etc etc.
I will also say that this list feels a biiiiiit swayed by characters who I have experienced more in fandom. There are characters from one off books, video games, comics that I CONNECT with more, maybe idolized more, but engage with less often because there's no fandom, so they come to mind less immediately. And they've been butchered less by fanon, so I don't project onto them as much. Like they are FULLER vessels, which means they have less room for me to go "Oh, yeah, we are exactly the same. Let me into your brain."
This list is mainly of characters I love to play with like bratz dolls in my brain and is less about like... maybe heavily fucking with them while consuming their media and then being able to let them go when I'm done.

Hiiiii!! so I was just reading your poet au posts (which btw amazing work, delightful reading all around, can't wait to read a whole fic if you decide to write it-which i really hope you do bc it's soooo good) and i saw that you were kind of insecure about the poetry part and i have a few thoughts about it and i hope you don't mind me sharing them
first, i really don't think anybody is going to judge your poems -nor the fact that you put them as the work of the best poet in off brand France. also there is obviously suspension of belief so if you say the poems are the work of the best poet, people really wouldn't question it much.
also you could just get the base poems from other poets (credit them obviously) and alter it as needed.
and there is also the possibility of finding someone to beta the poems (as an avid poetry reader since I was like 9, i would gladly do it)
what I meant by this whole ask is, although i understand your concern, and i truly do, i deeply hope it doesn't stop you from creating something that had sooo much potential (if you do want to write in full), but also even if you don't further extend the work, what you already created if great
so yeah that's that hope I didn't cross any lines (sorry if I did)
Ahh thank you (and no crossed lines at all!) 🥰 You make several good points! It's true, no one is going read my porny Star Wars fanfiction, scoff to themselves and say "this isn't nearly as good as Molière!" Like, it isn't, but that's probably an impractically high bar.
And I could totally use preexisting poetry with the relevant details changed (and credited, I'm not looking to get haunted by John Donne), but also the idea of a poetry beta is so fun! I don't have any kind of beta right now for a number of reasons (one of which is that my biggest writing crime is straight up missing words and I prefer to think of that as a sort of accidental madlibs. What is Obi-Wan verbing on Anakin's noun? That's up to you and your imagination!) but I think a poetry one would be especially interesting. We could brainstorm fun metaphors together!!!
If I decide to write more it'll probably be in the new year? I've committed myself to a few other WIPs until then so poet Obi-Wan will be forever wallowing in the misery of his not-actually-unrequited love. But I ended the scene with Anakin in his lap so he'll be fine probably. Anakin is very cute.

WINTER. i need to you know that you talk about the things you love with such joy and enthusiasm and excitement that it makes me want to be excited about them too, even though i know literally nothing about them. anyway congrats on the michael-bay-less transformers movie <333
LMAO I'M GLAD IT BRINGS YOU JOY <3333333333
the truth is I have ,,, sooo many mixed feelings about transformers. like. it's part of a much bigger universe filled with lore and it's like. star wars or dc comics-sized. and I simply do not have room in my brain for ANOTHER comics-sized media because that would be. too much. so I just forced myself through the worst movie franchise in history to cherry-pick things that I liked from it and made up everything else. <3
but like. first of all my inner 8 year old goes absolutely buckwild for transformers. they're GIANT ROBOT SUPERHEROES!!! that can TURN INTO CARS!!!!!!! and sometimes they have SWORDDSSSS!!!!!!!!! and as much as I can't stand the movies, the cgi with the transformations is soooooo <3333333333333333 and the transformer designs are all soooo cool too !!!!!!!
and the thing that really gets me about the transformers movies is that they have SO MUCH POTENTIAL to not only make inner 8 year old me the happiest guy on the planet but to also tell a very compelling story!!!! the autobots were forced from their home planet and most of their race was killed by the war that tore their planet apart!!!! all that's left of this once powerful race of incredibly powerful beings is a small handful of exhausted soldiers who are hiding out on earth because they're being hunted all over the galaxy!!!! and even after losing everything, they all still decide to fight for earth and protect humanity from the same fate that took their families, their people, and their entire planet away from them!!!!!!! I'm literally biting !!!!! and after setting up that premise michael bay just. didn't follow through. and the movies are filled with utter bullshit storylines and every autobot's personality gets completely rewritten every single movie because the entire plot revolves around michael's bland self insert characters. the movies are soooooooooo bad but they could be sooooo good and that's my entire mental illness about transformers summed up in a single sentence.
but anyway. I don't know anything about the director of the new movie or if they're any good, but the only way they could be worse than bay is if they let a toddler keysmash on a typewriter <3 I'd even argue that'd be a BETTER alternative than michael bay's directing <33 but anyway. I don't like how optimus looks in the trailer because like I said, the transformer designs in the bay movies are, unfortunately, really really cool. and the new movie seems to have taken optimus' original design like in the toys and old cartoons, which is FINE but also ,,, I miss catboy optimus :(
Tumblr media Tumblr media
like. say what you will about the og movies but they sure could design an autobot !!!!!!!! optimus just looks so ,, boxy in the trailer. and I definitely prefer his other design. but honestly I'd rather have a shittier-looking optimus without bay than a badass-looking optimus with him. so.
I'm overall very very happy with how bumblebee looks though <3333 but to be fair he's my silly little guy skrunkle gal pal so whatever he does will always have me giggling and twirling my hair <333 he has never done anything wrong in his life <33333333

Shoutout to Mr. Atticus Pokémon for putting the fear of God in me by nearly wiping out my whole team. My squad was on even levels with his it’s just that he had an answer for basically everyone or ended up hitting WAY harder than I expected. It turned into a war of attrition and I used up a good number of Super Potions and Lemonades trying to hang on by a thread! Trueno and Freyja ended up being the only survivors, and just barely at that!!! Holy fuck thank goodness Freyja’s immune to Poison and otherwise tanked everything else (including a bunch of super effective moves) or this would’ve been a complete shitshow on my end!!!
Well I never claimed to be a master Pokémon player…….Even after all these years………
Anyways, in more positive news, still making great progress in this game! Halfway done with the gyms, the Team Star bosses, and the Titans! Same thing with the academy classes. So basically halfway through the game! I am aware of certain endgame spoilers but I don’t mind, I’m still having a good time! And other than a few minor graphical glitches I have been safe from glitches spoiling my fun! The characters have been very likable so far but, as my Tumblr will tell you, Arven is the one I’m fondest of. Very predictable of me, I had a feeling it’d be him from back when we first got previews, but I was really surprised by how much he ended up clicking with me. As I said in some of my tags on other posts I haven’t clicked this hard with a human Pokémon character since Ash himself!
I also had some evolutions! So my squad is now Carmine the Floragato, Trueno the Pawmot, Anyu the Dachsbun, Gwendolyn the Ceruledge, Freyja the Tinkatuff and Havilland the Kilowattrel.
I haven’t spoken about the evolutions much yet have I? Carmine is adorable and I know the final evo is stage magician based and, potential unpopular opinion, but I really love it and am looking forward to him reaching his final evo. I really love how Pawmot looks like a little shounen protagonist, it’s as funny as it is adorable, especially considering my Trueno is a girl 😆 Anyu my precious baked pupper, my (literally) sweet girl~! Gwendolyn looks soooooooo badass as a Ceruledge, my girl is ready to KILL. Freyja definitely looking more confident and I wanna see her get her giant hammer in her final stage so bad! And, as I’ve said before, did NOT expect Havilland to be sooo huge but he is my big bird and I love him!

anyone want to read my stream of consciousness about the bad batch....no....ok
ok so the thing about tbb is that it is almost something i could really like except there's like a million things holding it back. the introduction in tcw where they established that they hate 'regs' because they were looked down on and then never did anything with that, which is crazy because clones in the sw universe are very explicitly not in any position of privilege. they show them getting idk. bullied? on kamino? but the most we get about solidarity between the bad batch and the other clones is the mayday episode. frustrating!!!! the way that the clones features in general in animation are whitewashed is frustrating enough but then they bring in a group of 'elite' clones who are also ostracized and then make two of them just look like white guys and another (because he died and was re-animated) just completely pale. and are we dealing with the fact that echo used to be a 'reg' but due to his death doesn't feel like he fits in anymore are we talking about that. no ok. also we are in the final season and omega and echo are like the only ones that want to rescue the clones that are being experimented on.
also the way the plot has been going is driving me bonkerssss okay so first of all did anybody actually get some sort of clarity about how the chips worked from what they did because i sure didn't!! can we get some consistency!!! crosshair's stint being an imperial also doesn't feel like it's really been explained. ok you gave your loyalty to the wrong people why did you do that in the first place when every other bb member did not. i guess there had to be some interpersonal conflict before they could just face up to the bigger one (and there's only so much they can do there due to established canon) but way too many of crosshair's actions in the early seasons feels inexcusable!! and at the same time i loved the episode with mayday but at what costttt like we've already seen him get orders to kill civilians and go okay we're doing this and when the people he's in charge of don't want to he does it anyways. maybe it has been too long since i watched it but there's too many pieces that don't feel like they mesh into a full 'character redemption'. and i like crosshair like half the time which is why it's so frustrating.
speaking of plot threads. there are two episodes left. where is cody? i know i'm a bit biased because he is one of my favorite characters but there was sooo much in the solitary clone episode that felt like it was hinting at 'cody is testing the waters to see if crosshair will defect with him' and then he doesn't get the response he was hoping for so he leaves by himself. 'it appears he's gone awol' ok cool will we ever see him again? is there a larger role he's fit into? it feels like the episode with rex and his clones would have been a good opportunity to see him again (maybe slightly messy so just like a mention? at least? considering i'm convinced crosshair is the only one like in the universe who knows he's defected?). one episode and that's it no mention again what are we doing here. especially with rampart back (who i have a side beef with - yeah they all hate him and are using him but part of me feels like they're trying to do a bit of a kallus with him which i do not want because it is not earned storytelling wise. if he dies whatever if he betrays them i'll be annoyed) who was also there telling crosshair that cody left like......hi.
maybe this is just my frustration with how much recent star wars is doing to shore up the 'somehow palpatine has returned' plotline but there are other stories i wish the bad batch was telling and i am just not getting that. and maybe i'll be happier if it turns out that they announce another clone project but as it stands it feels like they're sort of wrapping up anything they would do with them? which is making me crazy because there's sooo much untapped potential that not even the clone wars touched because half the time it was going 'this is the anakin and ahsoka show and the clones die a lot'. (which is a very uncharitable take of a show i enjoy a lot i just have had enough of anakin forever and ahsoka is a character i love but would love more if every time we got a chance to dive into a specific culture it ended up just being her story....which is my way to say that i wish totj was about The Jedi and not Dooku and Ahsoka. SORRY)
what was i saying. um. anyways i really want to like them and a lot of the time i do and maybe i am just being more of a hater because i have felt largely unfulfilled by this show in general but. oh i just remembered i can't believe everyone is so sad about tech dying because i don't know if they really earned that sadness for me. and i am a big fan of both characters remaining dead and characters coming back from the grave but i think people are going to be disappointed when it turns out that tech did actually die and CX-2 is a clone with all of the bad batch traits mixed together (just my theory which is also probably wrong). anyways i think the most emotionally impacted i was was during the solitary clone AND at the end of the episode with mayday.
also the underutilization of characters is like a consistent problem echo will disappear with a throwaway line for multiple episodes at a time and will show back up to deliver a ship and be with them again and then separate. they have barely devoted any time to him. he has not gotten to change and grow. he has gotten to go on side missions with rex that we don't see to rescue his brothers which is something that i think would be important to show because echo's introduction to the bad batch is being saved from the enemy by his brothers!!! but he is there so that they can use his skills and then he leaves. i really hope they've been taking him off screen because they plan on doing something else with him otherwise it just feels. lazy.
none of this is cohesive. sorry. i am maybe also representing some of these things more extremely than i actually feel about them. i am not the only opinion in the universe. i am just deeply unsatisfied by this final season and it is getting dire
