ashton - let’s talk about ashton first because there are a multitude of reasons i would fight him. i’ve narrowed it down to the top 2 - in at #2, his atrocious spelling, grammar, and incorrect word choice. it could easily drive me to violence, however, since i’m mostly subjected to it in writing it doesn’t top the list.

#1 - he interrupts me repeatedly. i HATE being interrupted, because i am kinda quiet and it takes a lot for me to speak up, so then when someone cuts me off? KNIFE TO THE THROAT. and you know ashton would do it. not with any ill-intention; he just wouldn’t be able to stop himself, you know? he’s gotta get out his clever thoughts. so ashton cuts me off for the hundredth time, i see red, and then i’m kicking him in the shins. HARD.

i see this going one of two ways. either he holds up his hands and backs away because he’s in one of his woo woo moods, or his instincts kick in and he tries to punch me in the face. joke’s on him, though, i fight dirty. i will win this fight.

michael - okay so if i’m fighting michael it’s definitely because he beat me at mortal kombat and now he’s rubbing it in and i am NOT okay with it. i snap and yell at him in a horrifyingly earnest and sincere way and then i run away because i feel too vulnerable. an hour later, michael surprises me with a snickers bar because he feels bad.

calum - not to get too real here, but i’m fighting calum over his smoking. it’s psychological warfare, though. like i am going to manipulate this man into quitting in such a way that he doesn’t even realize it’s happening. 

maybe i’m going to pavlov him into associating cigarettes with something he hates. maybe i’m going to start hiding his cigarettes and putting, i don’t know, sour patch kids in their place. and if he catches on, i’ll just steal duke until he agrees to quit smoking.

luke - it will not come as a surprise to you that i’m fighting luke over his short pants. like i see a little too much sock and/or calf one day and i can’t take it anymore. it’s a cuddle fight, for personal reasons. i expect luke to win because of his sheer size, but he feels bad and lets me win. afterwards he immediately gets rid of all his short pants because he doesn’t want me to be disappointed in him.

Ga-In sees your expression when you look outside, she turns her head and her shoulders slump over. "Great, just great." She mutters and stands up to hold her hand out to Seungwook, "Well, it was nice to meet you, but we really have to go now. Come on, y/n."

She doesn't have to tell you twice. You immediately stand up and shake your new friend's hand, "Nice to meet you, Seungwook. Maybe we'll all see each other on campus." Seungwook smiles and stands up while shaking your hand. He bows politely and walks over to his table to collect his things before turning back to the both of you, "It was a pleasure, ladies. Thank you for keeping me company! I hope to see you around." You nod and smile, collecting your laundry and signaling to Ga-In that you're ready to go. She nods and heaves the bags she brought that are now full of clean clothes over her shoulders.

She really is stronger than she looks.

You grab your basket and wave once more to the handsome young man who's collecting his load before nodding to the desk lady and pushing the door open with your hip, letting Ga-In walk out before you follow her.

The night is chilly and you shiver. 

To be honest, you're not sure if it's the October air or the fact that the two of you are out and about in the dark when you vowed you wouldn't that's making the goosebumps raise on your arms.

Curse dirty laundry.

Ga-In starts to hum some silly song she heard on TikTok, and you roll your eyes and smile.

"Innie! You know I'm sick of you singing that!" You smile bigger when she starts to giggle at your protest, "I'm sorry! I can't help the fact that it's stuck in my head twenty-four seven."

Relieved that the tension is now broken and the pair of you are fairly close to home, you breath in the fresh crisp air and sigh.

"Innie?"

"Hm?"

"What are we gonna do for Halloween?"

"I don't know about you, but I vote we don't go trick or treating."

You burst into laughter and she smiles.

Suddenly you hear the small sound of a twig snap and you both freeze.

You want to whip your head around and look for the source of the sound, but your heart is seized with terror, which makes your body completely seize up too. It's only when you hear Ga-In gasp the word 'run' sharply, that your legs move, and you take off running as fast as you can manage what with the heavy basket bouncing up and down in your arms.

You don't think you've ever run this fast in your entire life. Your lungs are burning and spasming and you can feel an asthma attack of your own coming on.

Yet, Ga-In is still ahead of you, her hair flying like a kite in the wind.

She's like a freaking gazelle leaping across a meadow.

Well, a tall gazelle wearing a skirt and carrying a laundry bag over each shoulder as she hightails it back home, leaving her supposed best friend to be eaten by the lion.

What a brat.

She seems to hear your thoughts as she suddenly slows down and looks behind her, seeing you hike the basket up farther to get a better grip as your sore legs push themselves to the limit. 

You feel like someone is right behind you when your back tenses up, and when Ga-In's eyes grow ten times larger as she looks behind your shoulder, you let out a blood-curdling scream and chuck your laundry basket to the side.

You couldn't care less about that stupid laundry.

Your arms pump wildly on either side of you as you run with a newfound speed after throwing away the extra weight, zipping past Ga-In and hurling yourself toward your apartment stairs. You practically throw yourself up two steps at a time and slam against the door, punching in the key to your lock and throwing the door open.

Ga-In shrieks and runs in next to you before you slam the door shut, miraculously still alive.

You take huge gulps of air and collapse on the ground in a dramatic heap.

You're going to throw up.

It's going to happen.

It really is.

You dry heave and pound your chest, thinking maybe that will do something to make the air go in faster. After a minute of gagging and almost crying your head off, you are curled in a ball on the floor, staring at Ga-In's nude flats. 

You hear her clear her throat and look up at her, "Dang, y/n. I never knew you could run that fast." You glare at her and push yourself up to a sitting position much like the one she's in. 

"Are you trying to be funny you fool? We almost died!" 

"It could've just been a rabbit."

"A rab- a WHAT?" 

"A rabbit-"

"Ga-In! Did you not see something behind me that made you look absolutely mortified? Are you forgetting that?"

"I didn't see anything."

"I- what did you just say?" You stare at her in disbelief and she tries to smother a grin. 

Ohhhhh she better be joking right now.

"I thought I saw something, but it was just a mailbox."

Say what now? You lost almost half the clothes you own because she saw a motherfreaking mailbox?

A MAILBOX?!?!

"WHAT?" She flinches when you shout and then scrunches her eyebrows, "Stop yelling, at least we're alive."

Your brain is so shot from the fear and adrenaline pumping through you that you just stare into space and nod numbly. 

"Yes, yes ok. I'm going to bed." You stand up and walk to the back, almost like a robot. It honestly feels like today has lasted a million years. 

How many times have you been running? How many times have you fallen? Gotten frightened and humiliated? It's just never ending today.

You wake up with a splitting headache, a groan slipping past your lips as you pull up the covers to hide from the light. The next second your alarm goes off and you growl at it, chucking it across the room and flinching when it makes contact with the far wall. 

A timid knock sounds at the door and you whine in protest when your worst enemy walks through the door quietly. 

Ga-In tiptoes to your bed and pulls the covers back gently, sliding in next to you and wrapping her arms around your waist. You pout at her cute actions, knowing she wants you to forgive her ASAP. 

Well, darn.

You turn and hug her back, cuddling into her chest and speaking sleepily, "I'm still mad at you." She chuckles and you feel her nod, "I know, but you should've seen the look on your face when you were running." 

"Ga-In!" 

"I'm sorry, y/n. It's just too funny. Your eyes have never been so big and your legs were practically invisible with how fast you were going."

"Obviously I was running like never before,  I had to keep up with you, you brat. Leaving me in the dust with your gazelle legs. Stupid."

"My what?"

"Nothing."

She chuckles and stretches her long limbs out, "well, at least I have a funny story to tell your future boyfriend."

"You wouldn't dare."

"Oh, wouldn't I?" 

Maybe she'd forget. 

She forgets things a lot.

You sit up and rub your eyes, at least you didn't have math today and you didn't sleep in either. Maybe today could be a good day. Yesterday was miserable. But, nothing could ever happen to top that misery. From now on, you two would be happy and safe. No more worries over a bad day. You'd make sure of that. 

Can't get much worse, right?

Biography:

“I am the one thing in life I can control, I am inimitable, I am an original.”

Filipinos are required two talents: singing and dancing. And those who do not have those talents become doctors. This was the course that Mia Salazar’s life was set on. And considering that her parents owned just about half of all the pharmacies in the Philippines, it was one that was not only expected but demanded. Which is why she did exactly that – she focused in high school, got the grades, and when the opportunity came she even volunteered as a junior EMT for medical experience during summer of junior year. Which is where our story, and Mia’s life, derails. See, she didn’t expect to love the field. But she did. She didn’t expect to get entangled in the thrill of being a first responder, of being the one person that had to essentially bring a person back from the brink before they even set foot in the hospital. But she did.

You can imagine her parents’ chagrin when she, their only child, announced that she wanted to attend Cuny Borough of Manhattan after graduation to pursue a career in being a paramedic. ‘A community college?!’ you could practically hear her mother screech from atop their Upper East Side penthouse. Needless to say, they were not happy. In fact, they flat out refused to pay the tuition (regardless of the fact it cost less than the things you could find in their bathroom cupboard) and told her that they would not offer any support until she got her act straight and decided to be ‘a real physician’. This did not deter Mia. In fact, it was practically the taste of freedom that she’d been yearning for handed to her on a silver platter.

Fast forward four years after high school graduation, and you’ll find that Mia’s come a long way from being another one of Constance Billard’s privileged princesses. With the first half having been spent accumulating training hours and barely-above-minimum wage funds at the back of an ambulance, she’s now in her second year of an Associate’s Applied Science degree. The experience, as well as the recent years of Broke Life independence, has put a bit of a stern edge on her otherwise ‘nice girl’ reputation. The fact that it was her own determination and grit that got her to this point – not her parents’ money or influence – has given her a confidence that she never thought she could have. What does it even matter that to this day she honestly doesn’t know how much a banana is supposed to cost? It’s as exciting as it is terrifying, but Mia’s instilled a sort of attitude in herself that says she’s not done discovering her potential quite yet. Does she have what it takes to keep going with her ambitions and dreams? Heroic: The first time Mia saw a burning car, she had no idea that her first instinct would be to run towards it. But it was and it turns out it wasn’t just a one time thing. There’s never any conscious decision to put herself into a situation to help others – she just does it. It’s not just physical dangers either; whether it be a fire, someone being rude to a customer service worker, or a classmate forgetting a #2 pencil on exam day. If she can help, even in the tiniest way, she doesn’t hesitate.

Adaptive: Mia lives for life’s curveballs. Not only is she good at thinking on her feet, but she enjoys it as well. New settings don’t intimidate her, nor does meeting new people or trying new things. She’s a firm believer in trial and error and knows full well that complaining or feeling sorry for yourself never helped anyone accomplish anything.

Soft: Outside of the ambulance, the rigid persona (dubbed her ‘saving lives’ personality) is quickly shed to reveal the sensitive creature that Mia Salazar truly is. And cuddles? Forget about it – there is nobody else in the entire universe that loves comforting human (or fur baby) contact than Mia does. It’s therapeutic, really; if giving free smiles and warm hugs makes even one person she likes smile, then she will be the person to offer them.

Flaws:

Private: Being nice isn’t the same thing as being open, and Mia exemplifies that clearly. Because of the nature of her work, she’s left with basically no social life. But then again that’s also something she almost prefers. Small talk is an unusual skill that she’s actually mastered (because sometimes keeping a person talking is the only way to distract them from the fact that they’re bleeding out in the middle of Lexington Ave.), but when it comes to revealing anything personal she’s quick to deflect. It just seems like a waste of time and energy opening up to someone, if all it takes is a busy work schedule and a few disappointments to make them move on.  

Impulsive: In hindsight, it probably would have been wiser for her to actually have a plan before abruptly taking her parents’ ultimatum, packing everything she could into a large Mulberry suitcase, and running off into the night. But she didn’t, and this trait is one that she unfortunately did not manage to grow out of. Because of her upbringing, consequences were never actually something she’s ever had to think more than two seconds about. And because of the literal life-and-death nature of her job, trusting her instincts is something that she’s been accustomed to do. So if Mia thinks it’s going to turn out okay (whether it be sprinting into a burning car or splurging on a new dress) she’ll do the thing now and regret the repercussions later.  

Work-a-holic: Having become one of the people that actually had to work for a living just put gasoline into the inferno that was already Mia’s determination. But more than that, she genuinely loves her job. It’s the first real thing that she’s accomplished, that she’s pushed herself to be good at, and it’s good work (no matter what her parents think). So she drops everything for it. Anniversaries, dinner plans, a baby (once, when a friend asked her to hold it but then her phone beeped with a call from the hospital and she rushed to get away). Nothing is more important to her.

Para Sample (A couple of paragraphs, in third person, as the character you’re applying for):

���BPM dropping to 50.”

Mia had to stop herself from snapping back, because, yeah, she already knew that. Her eyes had been glued to the damn monitor as soon as they’d hooked it up to the patient. 20BPM and it’ll be too late, 20BPM and it’ll be too late – she chanted the words to herself again and again as she quickly and expertly maneuvered around the gurney to grab all the supplies she needed. E 80th St. sped past the windows and the first rule she ever learned in the ambulance came racing back to her.

No matter what, never yell for the driver to go faster. It never helped anyone, and those 0.5 seconds could’ve been spent doing something useful.

“Move,” she said, not unkindly but firmly, to the EMR next to her. She recognized the look on his face – the way he hovered too close to the patient, how his eyes seemed to be processing both too many things and nothing at all. Mia could sympathize, but didn’t. She already knew that he wasn’t going to be of any help and right now was not the time to deal with that. “I need you to get the atropine for me. Hey. Can you do that?”

It took a moment, but his gaze eventually ripped away from the patient and their quickly collapsing lungs to focus on her. Slowly, he nodded and finally got out of her way.

It didn’t look good, but then again nothing ever did in here. Mia’s jaw tightened as she watched the way the young man struggled to breathe, how only one part of his chest rose and the other was covered by a blotchy shade of deep blue. “Broken ribs,” she muttered to herself, reaching for a mask. Eyes flicking down, she noticed the nametag taped over his breast pocket. “Hey, Andre. It’s okay, it’s going to be okay. I need to put this on you, alright? We’ll get you breathing better, just stay with me.”

Andre’s eyes, half open but clearly dazed, barely seemed to register her presence. “O2, now.” she demanded, placing the mask over his mouth and nose.

They hit a speedbump, the one she knew was on right on 3rd Avenue, and Mia blew out a breath. “We’re almost there, sweetie. Hang on.”

But then a beep sounded, rapidly followed by more, and her heart sank as the monitor showed 30BPM. On the gurney, Andre’s body gave an abrupt hitch. “Atropine!” Mia yelled, scooting aside as the EMR sunk a needle into the IV lined into Andre’s arm.

“He’s not getting any oxygen,” he said, hands now shaking as they both watched helplessly as the convulsions got worse. He lunged forward, getting into position for CPR, but she intercepted him.

“His ribs are broken, you could puncture a lung,” she snapped.

“Then how is he going to breathe?!”

And this, this was the hardest part of the job. There was always somebody asking that question, and in all her five years of experience she never knew how to answer it. She didn’t know how to tell them that the hardest part wasn’t after her shift, when all she could think about was everything she could’ve done. It wasn’t even having to tell their family waiting at the hospital that they didn’t make it.

The hardest part had always been right before she lost a patient. In those minutes and seconds where she had to watch as all her options vanished in thin air. When they were still alive, but she knew that she couldn’t save them.

They got to Lenox Hill ten minutes later. Which was more than enough time for her to compose herself and give the awaiting medical staff a full report.

Because the second hardest part of the job was the one nobody ever wanted  to talk about. The part where, right after you lose a patient, you’re not allowed to lose yourself. You have to shake it off, brush it away, because it was only halfway into the day and they just got another call about a fire up in East 95th. And Mia, with her five years of experience, was only now getting good at that.

he followed them instinctively, but then paused it. “wait…how’d you know that?”

*cue mc’s nervous laughter* “it’s..a side job…I’m kind of like..a thief”

*yoosung confused emoji noise* “like..in a game?” no, yoosung

becomes hella worried but doesn’t ask them to stop bc he didn’t know how

his main concern is them getting caught bc he can’t bail them out

he’s broke

starts taking classes hella seriously bc now he wants to open the hospital asap 

“so you won’t have to do it anymore!”

in the meantime, he visits the nurse and the bio club often to be prepared

jokingly asked if they could steal test answers once. don’t tempt them

when Seven pranked him again, mc managed to steal almost half his hbc stash

Seven was both impressed and devastated. Yoosung laughed so hard he cried

he hasn’t pranked Yoosung since, making Yoosung incredibly happy

still pls mc its dangerous 

707/Luciel/Saeyoung:

found out through the background check

confused as to why V let them join 

he’s very suspicious at first

but they joke along with him and seem so positive 

it hits him that they could be like him

cue Stress™

really pushes them away now

“I’m a very dangerous person, mc” “ok me too what’s your point”

but he still fell for them 

they were so nice and genuine, doesn’t let their job affect them too much

when he lets go of avoiding them, there’s a lot of questions

which leads to a lot of stories 

its their form of couple bonding 

tHE MOST DANGEROUS COUPLE NOW EVERYONE BEWARE

take the “agents 606 and 707″ thing very seriously 

even after they eventually both quit their dangerous jobs

the rest of the rfa is lowkey scared of them but they know how lucky they are to have this dangerous, but positive couple

jaehee:

is Very Stressed 

found out when she was compiling info on the rfa members 

figured that’s why she didn’t trust them at first. baehee has great intuition

tells them they should quit before they open the cafe 

but suddenly a lot of the things they talked about made sense

like when mc said all those crazy things. “just shave elizabeth 3rd lmao”

manages to get mc to switch jobs and fully take on the cafe

but one day they found someone trying to break into the cafe 

oh boy

not only were the rest of the rfa infuriated jumin was honestly so pissed this would happen there’s bodyguards around the whole block now

but jaehee allowed them to do it just once more

*evil mc grin*

they didn’t steal anything, but they sure did get them back by messing up their house

ok they stole one thing

it was their coffee maker….look it was a keurig 

normally, jaehee doesn’t really like those 

but they help out on busy mornings at home or lazy days

she feels guilty but then again, the cafe was never in that situation again

zen/hyun:

remember that april fools phone call? (”you’re a thief” “yea, i am”)

that’s how he finds out

except he doesn’t believe them. just had to tell him during april fools, huh mc?

finally believes them when he they were going through pics and he saw one of them before going on a raid. they were all dressed for a mission

asks about it cause he was confused and they were like “i told you already gdi zen”

is Shocked™

“but princess, that’s so dangerous!” “says the one who used to be in a gang!” 

almost demands they quit for safety (he’s also kinda broke and can’t pay bail)

they tell him they already did because they were worried it would give him hella bad publicity 

is so touched rip zen 

they still steal one thing though…merch. and tickets(technically cause zen always gives them one)

jaehee says she disapproves, but always takes mc up on their offers

they talk about their dangerous pasts while cuddling

his new favorite pickup line is “are you a thief? because you stole my heart how disgusting

mc didn’t wanna bring it up because this would be really bad for him

but when Elizabeth ran away, they walked around the penthouse and pointed out the most likely used escape route 

jumin was impressed, but also a little confused

mc forgets he doesn’t know for a minute and starts rattling off about escape routes that are in the penthouse and which one they’d take

jumin is even more impressed

and worried because they could sneak out

“were you planning on leaving, mc?”

oh snap 

“no no no! I was just giving an example, i won’t leave you jumin!” 

*internal sigh of relief* “but..why would you know that then?”

time to come clean, mc 

he’s so? surprised?? 

mc promises they’ll quit because of all the controversy that’s bound to happen 

which makes him relieved but also kinda upset cause they can’t do something they probably enjoy

hence why there’s a new room in the penthouse that makes mc feel like a spy to cross all these obstacles

jumin failed it like three times now 

v/jihyun:

was worried about letting them join when he heard from 707

but this had to be a sign because they were there 

so he let it happen

reads through the chat room more often than he did before to see how they were all getting along and if mc was really dangerous

but they weren’t, which made him feel better

he still found himself coming back, though

he hadn’t seen the rfa so bright and active in a while 

made him smile 

when he met mc at the party, they had a talk. especially cause mc figured he knew 

they were both glad there were no problems and then the conversation went to awkward, lowkey blushy territory

*cue both 707 and jumin snickering in the background*

mc offers to help with the whole Mint Eye situation 

at first, he refuses. it’s dangerous and he’s the only one who should be in danger 

so they steal those special glasses of his (that help him see a bit better w/his left eye)

the two of them reach a compromise: they’d do it together. 

V gives them all the info and finally tells the truth while mc goes in and shuts them down i want the rfa happy ok

unknown/saeran: 

he knew because he’s a stalker i mean also background check

thought they’d help just steal the info he needed

but they were cute… 

dammit saeran

still thinks they’d be the perfect candidate for Mint Eye though

and he imagined the rfa’s faces when their new member is actually a thief

hahah that oughta show them 

when he breaks through the window, mc is half scared-half “you could’ve done that so much better” 

mc it’s not like you’re on the first floor

they start to bond over his tattoo and leather jacket

if he stays in Mint Eye, they become The Scariest Couple oh my god

if he doesn’t and he stays with saeyoung, mc decides to quit as a thief to help him out and kind of show him that he could get over the hard past too

when he has nightmares, mc tells him stories of what they did before 

the stories are really no less scary, but imagining them doing all that and getting out alive make him feel better

especially cause they’re so nice

they keep their matching aesthetics though

Unfortunately, I never specified Hoseok and Seokjin’s ages in the story but they would have been University age too :D

Yes - I was excited to reveal why Namjoon was the way he was, so that everyone could understand him better. I felt that this chapter was the best time to do that as the other chapters before the ball kind of painted him in a negative light. Hiya love! Hmmm well it’s the same length as any other chapter really :3 Possibly because it’s just drawing to an end that one might feel like it’s shorter :(  I actually would really love to do that but I have no idea how lol :c Anyway, thank you so much for reading the new chapter my deary!! :3
