Aries placements

Since we are currently in aries season, i wanted to make a post about some of their placements! Hope you enjoy this post, and I'm looking forward to your feedback♈

❤️sun in aries people are vastly different from one another. not all of them relate to the confident image of someone who has the qualities of a leader. they can be shy and dislike lots of attention and responsibility. but i do think most of them are passionate about the things they love and they like to share these with the ones closest to them. also, they are very curious. there is something innocent about them

🌹moon in aries types show the classic traits of aries people that are known to others. the people i know with this placement have an unmatched temper and intensity. they have strong emotions regarding everything, so they either love or hate certain things. i feel like their mothers went through many difficulties in life, and tried to display their strong character. also, people with this placement have a desire to be more masculine, and less sensitive. they have outbursts of strong emotions, especially anger that gets out of their system as soon as it arises. they will be there for you in good and bad times, and you'll appreciate that. but if you cross them, they won't see you in the same light ever again. i've noticed that they love music or anything in the arts. it gives them immense joy and passion that they cannot always show and explore in their everyday life.

💋rising sign in aries have a strong presence wherever they go and people are quick to form opinions about them. they seem passionate, direct and a bit aggressive. women with this ascendant are seen as femme fatale. men seem a bit restless, opinionated, very masculine, and intimidating to some. their appearances vary, but they have some noticeable facial features that demand your attention (eyes esp., and the nose) they look amazing in black, red, and any loud colors. they have so many facial expressions, and it's quite charming and funny. they are a bit loud sometimes

🎬mercury in aries is an interesting placement. a lot is going on in their heads but it depends on the individual whether they'll show this aspect of their personality to the world or not. they have strong opinions and they are not fans of a gray mindset. i'm not saying they view things in black and white only, but they definitely prefer to be 100% sure in things. they are humorous, but at the same time they take things too seriously lol. they prefer direct people and explaining things clearly and concisely, without beating around the bush. they also like to provoke a bit the people they love, with good intentions ofc. lastly, they have to be careful when talking about sensitive topics, and discussing things with people who are sensitive. they must not be too harsh and "objective" since it can be easy to hurt others this way.

💄venus in aries love fiercely and dislike cold people who aren't ready to pursue them bravely and honestly. if you lack interest and manners, they will cross you off their list pretty quickly. they are lots of fun and want someone similar to them in this aspect. i think they can be really loyal as partners once they find someone who fits their criteria. continuous display of commitment and passion is the way to go with them. they are really sensitive actually, so they want someone that makes them feel safe, and someone who would be patient with their emotions.

❤️‍🔥mars in aries are energetic, full of life, passionate (i cannot help myself, this word describes them in a nutshell), like to take the lead, have various ambitions they need to fulfill. their temper is a bit scary at times, so they need to work on that. i feel as if this placement is not that common. they succeed in whatever they have planned in life because of their ambitious and strong mindset.

🎫jupiter in aries will have lots of luck by working on their confidence, saying how they think and feel instead of bottling up their emotions and ideas. pursuing various hobbies, especially those that involve physical activity. they need to relieve their stress as well. also, being spontaneous and brave could provide happines and new opportunities. focusing some of their big energy toward the people they love is also rewarding. the people around them love their enthusiasm and optimism btw.

💌saturn in aries need to watch out for their impulsive nature that dives head first without giving anything much thought. not only could they hurt themselves in this process, but others around them as well. there are consequences to all of our actions. moreover, there is no need to be shy about taking risks and taking the lead, but it's important to do it the right way. like i've said, confidence is key. by working on themselves, they could become unstoppable.

Just wanted to mention this to someone who does art and get their opinion on it:

Sometimes I see some artists do redraws of their old artworks or characters and think "Wow, uh... their older art looks better." Sometimes it's only mildly better, but other times it's vastly better. Like the Upgrade, Go Back! meme.

I understand that art skills are supposed to develop and change, hopefully for the better, but sometimes it just feels like they got... worse? Somehow? Idk. Maybe it's because they were copying another artist's style while finding their own, and it's their own style that doesn't vibe with me? Just curious what your thoughts are about this.

Also, your art has consistently been great, so this isn't directed at you.

I do see this on occasion yeah! usually (in my experience anyway) its because people take a sharp turn towards a stylization that either isn't to your or most people's tastes, or that they don't understand or are still developing. switching up how you stylize your art is like starting over in a sense, you're changing from what you have practice with and that's always going to cause you to revert some as you have to re-learn things you understood in your previous style. i had a pretty big style shift in 2014 when i took up the basis for how my art looks now, and i remember feeling like some of the stuff i was drawing might have looked better if i was using my older style instead. that's something artists just have to push through and figure out, and they'll likely come out of it a better artist than they were before. constructive critiques are a good way for them to figure out why their art might not be as "good" as it used to be, if they're open for those.

art is not always a linear journey, and i would also say things like passion and motivation have a part in it too. feeling inspired sparks you to make something the best it can be, if you're not feeling it (and esp if that feeling lasts for a long time) it'll leave you making decisions you otherwise would not have let fly, and that can result in worse art. and some of it is just personal preference! it's not that their art is better or worse, it's just different now, and maybe that doesn't vibe with you the same way their old stuff did. and that's fine 👍

WIP Wednesday

I opened old WIP to try and psych myself out of whatever block I'm having with knave-verse, and this seems to just mean I have more open files to procrastinate on?

On the other hand, I did write this scene in knave-verse - new theory, if just keep writing scenes eventually they'll transfigure themselves into something coherent? (I mean, this did kind of work for the first one, so . . . )

Mitchell ambushes him at the front door. "ADA Cortes is here."

He frowns. "Julián? Why?"

She shrugs. "I didn't ask."

He scowls at her. "Helpful. Thank you."

She leans against the edge of the intake desk and peers around the corner in the direction of the bullpen. "He never remembered my coffee order."

He sighs. "Yes, your dislike for Julián is well documented. He's probably just here about a case." Although off the top of his head he can't think of what case.

She hmmms. "I'm just saying, TK always gets my coffee order right, and he brings the good bagels."

He eyes her, and decides he doesn't really want to ask what mental leap she'd just made was. "Noted."

She hmms, dissatisfied with his response. "I'm keeping an eye on him." He gives her a dubious look, but she lets him go with an imperious wave.

He stops near his desk, where Julián is leaning over it, looking at the pictures he keeps there - his family, TK, a picture of him and Mitchell after they'd solved their first case together. "Julián, sorry did I forget a meeting?"

Julián shakes his head. "I just wanted to stop by to see if you had an update on the case."

He frowns. "Which case?"

Julián gestures. "The missing painting."

Carlos frowns more. "You'd need to speak to SSA Tulson about that. The theft is a White Collar case, not my jurisdiction."

"You seemed pretty involved the other night."

He raises his eyebrows. "That was just a coincidence. I was there as a guest."

Julian looks annoyed. "Right, as TK Strand's date. At a cocktail party at Cliff Massey's house."

He stares at Julian mystified. "Yes? Massey's on the Board at the Blanton. TK works at the Blanton."

Julian's lips tighten in annoyance. "I could barely get you to go out to a restaurant with me, but apparently now you're fine parading around the Austin elite as a plus one."

He blinks, taken aback. "The hell?"

Julián looks indecisive for a moment, like he's weighing whether he wants to say something, and Carlos remembers that from when they'd dated, the way Julián would pretend to debate with himself before he told you something he thought was for your own good. He hasn't missed it. "I looked up your boyfriend."

"Did you?" he says with a bland calm he's not feeling.

Julián nods. "He seemed very knowledgeable about art theft for a guy who's a glorified art teacher, so I got curious. He's got quite a record."

Carlos glances around the bullpen, and then takes Julián's elbow, steering him towards the conference room, tightening his grip when Julián starts to protest. "I am not doing this with you here." It isn't until they're in the conference room, and Carlos is leaning back against the door that he lets his smile drop. "So, you looked into TK?"

Julián nods. "After the theft, and some of the comments I overheard, I thought I should do my due diligence."

"Did you?" he repeats thinly. "You know, when people say they don't trust law enforcement this is part of what they mean, this kind of gross and blatant abuse of power."

Julián looks startled, but not guilty, and Carlos feels the dull flush of anger start to build. "What does that mean?"

"What possible reason did you have to run a background check on TK? There's been no arrest in the case, there's no indictment for you to prosecute. He's not even a person of interest."

"Maybe he should be."

Carlos grits his teeth. "Because?"

"He has a file an inch thick," Julian snaps, "all of it for art theft."

He holds on to his temper with a thread. "Yes. You know what isn't in that file? An arrest. For anything. Which SSA Tulson knows, which is why he doesn't consider TK a person of interest. Not," he mutters, "that is any of your business."

"You introduced him to your parents."

He gapes at the non sequitur. "Are you stalking him?"

Julián makes a sharp gesture. "I looked at his fucking Instagram account, and there he is laughing with Major Reyes, and helping someone I'm guessing is your mother blow out the candles on a birthday cake. I mean, I'm just guessing because it's not like I ever met her."

Carlos stares at him. "I'm sorry, are you jealous? We broke up two years ago, and I wasn't the one who ended it."

Julián glares at him. "I was falling in love with you. I was falling in love with you, and you never let me in, not really. And it didn't seem like that was ever going to change, no matter how long I waited. I broke up with you before you had a chance to break my heart." His mouth twists a little. "Might have left it too late for that anyway."

Carlos has no idea what to say. "I'm sorry. I didn't know." And stalls, because what can he say after that? Everything he can think of feels unkind.

"Yeah, I got that message, loud and clear. Thanks." Julián stares at the folders on the table, but Carlos doesn't think he sees them. "What does he have that I didn't?" Carlos blinks, startled, and Julian presses the point. "We could have been so good together, we could have made a name for ourselves."

"Been the fashionable gay power couple," he suggests dryly. Julian shrugs and doesn't deny it.

HI HI... it's Leolithe here! FINALLY INTERACTING. I see you in the notes of my Lotus posts and i am DEATHLY curious to know your opinions on the Lotus system! Both as characters in general and also what you'd love and/or hate to see in their story. The idea of a Sentient AI mimic who is a system is so incredible to me, but I wonder if there's anything about Natah, Lotus or Margulis you would change?

Also, how many of you have played Warframe? Has everyone tried it or is it just not everyone's cup of tea? Should I direct my questions to specific people in the system? I'd love to hear more Lotus thoughts!! :3

Now, to answer your questions. I'll start with the last ones.

We've all played Warframe, and each have found something to enjoy in it.

We used to play it on the Switch, long before we found out we're we. Eventually stopped for reasons I can't remember. Probably because it was Warframe on the Switch. Lmao.

Recently ported our account to PC, which has been nice. Caught up on everything, so now we're just taking turns making frames and enjoying the loop. Learning how to mod. Deep in the grind. Ignoring rivens cause they scare us. The usual, I'm sure. Lmao.

Asking specific members for their opinions is fine. Just will take longer to get answered. Unless you're lucky. We can't really control who fronts, unfortunately. But you can still do it, if you're curious about one of us. They'll definitely appreciate the attention. Probably. Lmao.

On the Lotus, we absolutely love her. Love all three of them.

Zero loves Lotus and Natah the most. She's an AI, so she relates to their struggles, but we are all enamored with them.

Marguils' resolve, Natah's tenacity, Lotus' deducation. Their histories with Ballas. Their histories with the Orokin in general. Their histories with eachother. With Marguils' memory, her legacy, before she came back. Their love for the Tenno. Their children. Their dedication to protecting the origin system.

All three are amazing. Their plurality is very interesting, originally being a synthetic mimic with two different sets of memories in them. Eventually culminating in three different entities in one. It's unique and engaging.

Our favorite characters in Warframe, to be sure. They're amazing.

We'd love to seem their plurality be more noticable, in the future. We're all in on them being plural, but it is admittedly easy to miss. A line of dialogue unheard, a helmet left uninteracted, a line of text left unread, and you're probably not gonna know they're plural. We want them to start bickering during a mission. We want Lotus to be explaining something, ony the go silent for a time, then for Natah or Marguils to take over. We want some way to talk to them outside of missions, for character moments.

I don't know how likely any of these will be, personally. But we'd like to see them.

That's also what we'd change, honestly. The inability to change between the three was annoying, so we'd remove that from The New War. Or add a fourth option of "take turns". We want to see them interact. We want a blatenly in-your-face system.

We'd hate for Natah and Marguils to be forgotten, eventaully. For Lotus to be considered the default. For some convoluted story beat to fuse them all into one mind, as is annoyingly common in system stories. Since that's the only good end singlets can imagine for a system. Natah and Marguils getting forgotten would be disappointing and annoying, but if they all fused into one we'd probably drop Warframe immediately.

Hope these answers are good @leolithe. Don't know if I did a good job of expressing our love for this system but, we do truly love them. Thank you for the question.

hello maue! ive seen you talking about helluva boss and hazbins character design and the like, so i was wondering if you could critique the character designs from the game doll eye? specifically the main three characters: alfred, mystery and kao. i have my own opinions about the subject matter, but im curious to see what yours are.

Interesting!

So right off the bat, I'd like to highlight a major issue all three designs have. Fun game for those at home: Without looking it up, guess the species of each of these characters.

(Answers below the cut)

Left to right: Alfred- Shiba Inu. Dr. Mystery- Oriental Longhair cat. Kao- Ram.

If you answered all three correctly, congrats! That's three more than I did. Alfred much more closely resembles a fox or coyote than a Shiba Inu (and his nose is so tiny I actually thought he was human at first glance). Dr. Mystery looks... somewhat feline, but the thick, striped tail reminded me more of a raccoon. And my gut reaction to Kao was "mouse", judging by what I thought were his gray cheeks, pink nose, and whiskers. And that's the thing: A character's species should be so clear that your gut reaction will be correct. If viewers can't see the resemblance, the design isn't communicating the information it should.

Another thing is that their poses are a bit boring since they're too symmetrical; like tell me you used symmetry mode without telling me you used symmetry mode. A symmetrical pose for a character is fine for orthographic/turnaround sheets so you know how they look from a perfect front view, but for a main pose it's kinda stiff and doesn't show much personality. It gels okay with the art style, which appears to be very flat and graphic. But there's no harm in giving even heavily-abstracted characters a little dimension.

Lastly, these designs are extremely bottom-heavy, with the feet taking up a disproportionate amount of space. Because of this huge disparity of visual "weight" between the feet and faces, our eyes keep moving to the feet, which isn't ideal. Generally (not always, but the vast majority of the time), you'll want to direct the most attention to the character's face, as the face expresses the most emotion. "The eyes are the windows to the soul" and all that. What are feet the window to? Blisters?

Anyway, here are my notes on how the designs are working on an individual level.

See, the thing about making a symmetrical drawing is, you better make sure one side doesn't have any awkward tangents, or they'll reflect on the other side as well.

And now, here's how I would redesign Alfred:

I mainly just made the face and ears look more Shiba-like, made the tail more prominent in the silhouette, and shrunk down his legs and feet a tad so the proportion gap between them and the face isn't so huge. I experimented with keeping the shaggy hair on the sides of the face, but it made him look more like a wolf or a Husky, and Shibas have pretty short fur. Also, I realized his shoes looked a lot like work boots, which wouldn't make much sense for a teacher to wear in a school setting. So I replaced them with dress shoes, which would be more appropriate for the environment.

Now let's look at Kao:

Not much of a change on this one. I lengthened his face, enlarged his horns so they're more visible, puffed up his collar to make room for his pointy chin and mouth, and did away with the ear. At first I thought just making it smaller would suffice, as its huge size was part of why I thought this guy was a mouse at first. But there's a lot going on up there already, so in the end I figured it would make things simpler if his ears weren't visible. I also incorporated eyelids that imply where his pupil-less eyes are looking.

Finally, Dr. Mystery.

The first order of business was determining the facial structure. Oriental Longhair cats have long faces and defined cheekbones, so I wanted that to come through in the drawing. The ears and bangs are now simplified, and the layering of the lab coat, pants, and tail makes much more sense. I also added a streamlined version of the tail fringe I drew in the initial redline, and separated the boots from the pants. The Meowth whiskers are gone; while they did provide a strong hint that Mystery is a cat, the face already has enough going on with the eyelashes, the bangs crossing over it, and the mouth jutting out at the side. I do think this version reads as "cat" without whiskers, but if they prove necessary, a simple line for each should do the trick.

In all three I tried to stay faithful to the angular, abstracted art style while making their species more clear and making certain features more logical and/or readable. This was a fun challenge! Thanks for asking!

Evening, Dev! An Advance Wars YouTuber I follow, Mangs, put up an interview of an ex WayForward contractor on the topic of the underperforming Advance Wars ReBoot Camp. I was wondering if you'd like to view it and give any thoughts. I'm always curious about your opinion on these things given your history and experience.

I watched the video. The opinion of the former employee gels with more junior employees I've worked with in the past - typically the perspective of devs who aren't privy to the decision-making process and lack the kind of context that's needed to understand the costs and benefits to the choices made. Here are a few specific thoughts I had on the various topics mentioned in the video.

Contract workers are often treated quite badly in our industry, especially those in QA. Contractors are the first to be let go, get little or no benefits for working, and are generally hired on through shell companies in order to protect the actual employers from liability. It's an unfortunate situation that's arisen from our legal system and extends far beyond the game industry.

Disagreeing with a major design decision like art direction is not at all uncommon. Leadership takes the responsibility on that one. I will be the first to admit that I've had my share of times where I disagreed with leadership and was right, as well as my share of times where I was dead wrong. I look back at the latter as valuable learning experiences.

I can tell that the person being interviewed doesn't really understand business because they'll say something vague about "record breaking profits" at the corporate level, but no solid information at any level below that. It doesn't matter that the overall company is profitable or not - each product that is developed still needs to justify its own existence via its accounting.

The pandemic, work from home, and return to office policies have affected the industry as a whole in many large ways. Publishing leadership sets the policy for the publisher, and studio leadership sets policy for the studio. My own publisher had different studios enact wildly different policies for work from home and return to office - one studio required all employees return to the office full time, while another only required two days per week.

It sounds like WayForward's engineering team and workflow faced a lot of challenges they had a hard time overcoming. I don't know whether this is because their team was shorthanded, lacked strong leadership, or just was always on the back foot and never able to stabilize due to a never-ending series fires that needed putting out. When everything is constantly on fire, it's extraordinarily difficult to get ahead. Remember, all tasks get prioritized. Fixing crashes is more important than adding new features like multiplayer or new units - crashes stop other dev team members from working, so the effect is multiplicative. I suspect that this was the root problem that caused the rest of the development to get caught in the development hell it sounds like.

hello hello :3 love your r1999 art, and I was curious about your painter au! Can I ask what Sonetto would be like in this world? She seems just as sheltered, but no longer indoctrinated with the foundation’s ‘order over opinion’ stuff. Does that make her more openly curious? Less professional and aloof? and I imagined her magic would not be as controlled or powerful but used in far more imaginative ways..

i also envisioned she’d being *even more* socially awkward around others and especially Vertin, since she has had basically no one else around and no diplomatic training of any kind ahsbskf

and then there’s her family who basically extort her abilities..

(Sorry if i’m rambling jdndjdn i’m just really curious, you don’t have to answer everything)

Yo!!! I'm glad a lot of you guys enjoy the au, it makes me happy that yall vibe with it ^w^ I've also gotten to discuss this with someone too and it's been great! Most of the time whenever I draw AUs it's kind of a one - and - done thing and I don't think too much about the details. But I'm particular towards this so I wanted to try to keep them similar to canon to try to get a feel of their characters, and then practice navigating them in this AU That said, while she hasn't been indoctrinated into the Foundation's teachings, she'll still have a similar mindset to canon because of her parents controlling her upbringing. She's sheltered, but she also isn't encouraged to act on her curiosity, to engage with the world too much because she's been taught to hide herself and her abilities because "the outside world is dangerous to arcanists" . There was someone who reblogged and tagged how the AU was giving Rapunzel vibes and they're not wrong!! I was actually thinking about Rapunzel when coming up with this too. The painting, and the controlling and restrictive parents... However, unlike Gothel, I wanted to make her parents a bit more complicated. They cared for her once, but now they've lost that and are more concerned with utilizing her abilities for their gain. It's this complicated relationship that also keeps Sonetto from acting against her parents wishes. In the hopes, that maybe they'll show that same love they gave to her before. Another reason would be because she's never had someone Vertin to show her another perspective outside of it. She's aloof and withdrawn but despite that still has a yearning for the world. A yearning she refuses to indulge in because of the reasons above. Her magic would indeed be not made for combat or powerful. She wouldn't be allowed to hone it further than what she's asked to do. She's not completely locked away from the world though, just that she'll have minimal interactions. So she's awkward and hopelessly inept in socializing LMAOOO But yeah!! So far that's what I've had in mind for the direction this AU is gonna take. Of course, feel free to put your own spin on it too! :DD I want to elaborate more but that'll be a spoiler alert HAHAHAHA jkjk I'm also just making it as I go and hopefully winging it I still haven't gotten the chance to expand on these ideas yet because pre-finals are kicking my ass but maybe after When I have time, I'll get the chance to do so For now, thank you plenty for the ask and for taking the time to read this! Alright CL. This one is very self indulgent so feel free not to answer it but I was wondering how your OCs would react to Heaven? Would they get along well?

Okay, so there are going to be multiple characters answering because...well, they are excited for this. They are from 3 different storylines - @theimperiumchronicles (obviously), @bombsbodyguardsbroken (multiple), and @magical-mistakes-vm. So...here we go!!

I'm going to break this down by storyline, and then by character

Abriella -

Brie would love her! She's fierce, she's protective, she loves Arthur scars and all. Brie would be like, YES SISTER, come on in, bring the human and I'll boost whatever magic you need. Need me to bring back some ancestors from the dead, I'm a necromancer bitch!

Cassandra -

ANOTHER WITCH!! OMG!! Do you do naked moon dances? How do you scry? Do you do blood magic or crystal magic? I'm mated to Lucifer, YES...THE LUCIFER?! Need help?? You have a direct line, babes!! Let's have tea and dish!

Arch -

He would observe and be cautious. He is not into dark arts, but is a mage, so he mixes potions, crystals, poultices, and mystical powers. He is very protective of Cruz and Abriella. As long as she is not a threat to them, he might engage her in discussions regarding her magic, if she needs protective amulets for Arthur and herself, any charms or potions/poultices and the like.

Arioch -

Arioch, the demon of revenge is going to see her like a little sister. He'll be protective and assist her in keeping Arthur safe, maybe even doing her dirty work for her, keeping her hands clean. Being able to do the work from the other side of the veil, there will be no trace of how it was done or who did it. He's a demon after all, so it's not like the blame can be left on the human side. They'll get along wonderfully.

Lucifer -

He'll sit back and wait for Cass and Heaven to need something. Imagine him sitting back on a chair, legs outstretched, smirk on his face, arms crossed over his chest, and just shaking his head. That's Luc. He's just amused his woman is excited as hell.

Jasper -

*sigh* Jasper is probably the first one to get stabbed. He's...he's Jasper and he'd be himself. He likes to test limits. Once he'd been an ass enough, he'd love the fuck out of her and take her under his wing like Arioch. He'd help her take care of Arthur and since he plays in the world of the Blinders with Anna and her friendship with Rose & Alfie, he can help run interference without her having to kill Alfie. Doesn't want to upset Anna now.

Anna -

Anna would want to help Arthur because she always wants to fix the broken, so she'd rope in Jean Pierre and Armaund (so we'll just thrown them in with Anna). In that way, they'd just bring Heaven into the fold like a broken person too. She's been damaged and hurt in the past and they'd just love her and try to protect her too. She might be the one that stabs Jasper, it wouldn't be the first time.

Kellen -

Kellen would be curious. Cautious, but curious. He'd want to know where her powers came from and why she is so quick to use them offensively. He'd want her and Arthur to come to the Uffernian Palace so he could study her. Safety for both of them would be promised so he could learn more about her history and magic. The only reason curiosity hasn't killed this panther is he's a very powerful demon.

Grae -

Unlike his boss, Grae would be on guard. He would keep Ada far away from her or Arthur. He's already protective of her, but if he thought she'd be in any danger from a woman who's ready to kill if she thinks Arthur is in any danger, not a chance. He's still trying to figure out Ada's powers so he would not risk it. He'd be careful around her too. Grae knows what he means to Ada, which means he would not risk angering the witch.

Dartan -

If he managed not to get killed, again, I think they'd get along. He was a powerful warlock in his first life so they would have much to discuss. However he has the personality of rough grit sandpaper against raw skin.

Amaya -

Amaya at first would be a little trepidatious, I mean the last spell she did DID end her up in literal hell and married to Dartan..ish. So, she'd be friendly but kind of skittish and shy. Once she felt a little more comfortable, I think they'd be great friends. If Dartan can keep from being, well, the current Dartan, then I think they could be a great foursome, like two couple friend group. Hell would have no fury like the four of them in Small Heath. Dartan is going to help Amaya with her magic eventually so if they were to meet after that, they'd be crazy deadly, like they could take all the Sabinis out in one swoop kind of deadly.

Mithos -

Mithos is another vengeance demon AND he is Co-Captain of the Queen's Royal Guard. The vengeance demon part of him is going to adore her and her style. The guardian side of him is going to totally understand her protection of Arthur. If you have read the scene I posted the other day where Brie almost went into Stasis you know how far he'll go for those he cares about. He will kill and he will die for Abriella, any day any time. So he would understand, and he would help her. He honors those who have love and loyalty.

Seren -

Seren is the Princess Royal and daughter of an ex of Korben that went on to marry one of his good friends and now is a "gift" to him that was originally to be his ward. Yeah...complicated. She's also been sent to study at the Mage Consortium in Uffern. (I have a spreadsheet to keep it all straight when my brain stops working...seriously) ANYWAY...she would find Heaven absolutely fascinating. First, the magic. Seren holds innate magic she's been using her whole life, so she'd want to talk to her about her skills, and how she got them. The whole history. She'd find the treatment of Heaven's family horrific. Then would come her protection of Arthur. This would be a foreign concept to Seren. She's always been a tool. Her mother was a tool, an object, a means to an end. She would adore Heaven, but not understand her love and protection of Arthur.

Melania -

The daughter of Marie LaVeau magic is no secret to her, she's seen the darkest of the dark. She's called upon the ancestors herself. She understands protecting those she loves and would want to help Haven if she could. Make it so that she feels safe and that Arthur is safe. She also knows what it's like to not be able to trust family. Mel was killed the first time by the woman who she thought was her mother, requiring Marie to resurrect her, which is when she learned who her true family was. In the current story she will end up being forced to kill one brother and try to kill her true father. So, loyalty is paramount to her.

Dontanion -

A powerful Voodoo Priest, he is the most powerful of the family. He would be interested in Heaven's abilities. He would even offer to show her some protections she might not be aware of and ways to invoke the ancestors and beings from the other side of the veil. And wait till Heaven meets Fluffy!

Francois -

While not as powerful as his brother, his energy is darker and he is more intimidating. Both brothers had to stand by as Melania grew up, unable to tell her who they truly were and also unable to intercede in many things that happened that hurt her. Now the truth is out, they too protect her the way that Heaven wants to protect Arthur. He too would want to help her and develop/strengthen her magic in ways to help her protect him. Also in ways to help her heal the trauma of his past so the demons are held at bay longer.

Mama Marie -

Marie LaVeau herself, the most powerful Voodoo Priestess that has ever existed, and ever will. The Queen of the Bayou. She would accept Heaven as a child of hers, no matter who birthed Heaven or what she had done in the past. She is a soul who need love and practices the craft, that is all Marie needs to know. She adopts lost souls and gives them a home and a mom to come to when they need. She would try to gently guide Heaven where she could, and support her. Give Heaven the family that she had stolen in the past, the love and support a mother can, and welcome Arthur in as well.

Vollrath -

As a Master Warlock, Vollrath would see it as his duty to ensure that Heaven had everything she needed but also that she was not going too far, which might cause conflict. He can be...abrupt/abrasive/an asshole. He comes from a good place but his people skills suck ass. Mahala is going to work on that, but...I think it would go badly, but yeah... However, anyone coming after Heaven would die, and die very ugly. He would not ask questions, he would not give second chances. You come after a witch in his territory and your life is forfeit, whether he and the witch are on good terms is not a variable in the equation.

Mahala -

In contrast Mahala would be in awe. She would have a gazillion questions and just want to know everything. Heaven would be instantly accepted just as she was. Arthur would be loved as like a big brother. Mahala would offer them a family like bond, and want to learn from Heaven to help protect Arthur too, and even to protect Heaven from anyone who came after her. She'd see anyone coming after Heaven as the hunters that Vollrath has mentioned. And, Vollrath said they have to die...so.... *CRINGE*

SOOO...that is how my OC's would see her. At least the ones that immediately went ME ME ME ME ME ME...If any more of them pop up my brain might just turn to pudding. LMAO

System Collapse, Chapter 2

(Curious what I'm doing here? Read this post! For the link index and a primer on The Murderbot Diaries, read this one!)

In which the legal complexities are a bit overwhelming.

When they're out of sight of the B-Es, Murderbot takes its weight off Ratthi, and he asks if it's alright. It says it is, but Iris suggests it stay with them for the last router. MB agrees, and Art recalls its shuttle. MB hopes this might encourage the B-Es to believe they've left.

The original B-E team told Art's team that the new ship was a scheduled arrival, not in response to the beacon. Seth thought that was a lie, so they've been operating under the assumption that B-E have more reinforcements waiting at a nearby wormhole. Unfortunately, no support ship from Art's university has been as forthcoming.

"Phase I of Plan A: Get the Hell Out of Here" involved getting decontamination routines into the locals' MedUnits, so they can decontam themselves of the alien remnants. Everything was proprietary and antiquated, so it took longer than expected. At least everyone's level of paranoia about contamination was up to MB's standards, so they didn't have as much trouble as they might have.

Phase II is the legal case for independence, which Pin-Lee is also working on. To summarize without the technical details, B-E has to make a case that the contamination can be effectively sealed to colonize it, and if they can't, the old colonists become salvage. So, the next step is to ask the colonists what they want, but it's unclear who to ask as they've split into even more factions. MB recounts a conversation between Thiago, Karime, and Mensah about how the colonists have been dealing with what they did to each other. MB thinks they should first get somewhere they won't be corporate slave labour THEN deal with their feelings.(1)

The last router isn't too far, and by the time they get there, the other operation, that MB would have been monitoring security for before the redacted incident,(2) is in progress. Karime, with Three, have arrived at the second colony site, where the colonists went after they discovered the pre-Rim site's contamination. MB monitors things from afar.

Iris and Tarik start on fixing the router. MB thinks about how, if the shuttle failed, the humans could walk in the direction of the space elevator until Art's drones found them and it sent down another shuttle. Meanwhile, MB could walk in the other direction and… it tags the rest of that thought for deletion.(3)

MB notices that Three's body language is a little too stiff, and asks if it's running the human gait code. Three says it is, but makes some adjustments, and says it's difficult. MB says it's doing great. It thinks how they don't want the colonists to know Three is a SecUnit, because they'll still remember how intense Art was about bombing the planet to get its SecUnit back.

Art is monitoring everything, because it's still unhappy with its humans being on this planet at all. (MB shares a transcript of a conversation demonstrating how intense it was about it when planning all this. It then adds some context, describing how Iris explained its behaviour: Art has just been through a trauma, and will act out verbally until it's fully processed. In response, Thiago said Art just enjoys terrifying people, and Iris smiled politely and ignored the comment so they didn't have to fight about it. This makes MB realize in realtime that Iris is Art's Ratthi.(4) MB then clarifies that Thiago wasn't quite right: Art doesn't enjoy terrifying people, but it does enjoy getting its way, and terrifying people is one of many tools it uses to do so. But, Iris is correct that Art is still processing, and MB would worry about the fact that Art had such great success with arming its pathfinders, but it's got a lot on its plate right now.)

It's difficult to watch Karime go into this meeting, and it's almost as difficult to watch Three being so awkward, trying to be human. MB knows it must have been that awkward at some point as well, but that doesn't make it easier. They're meeting with Bellagaia, who leads Faction One who want to cooperate, and Danis and Variset, who lead Faction Two who don't know what they want or who to trust. Karime was the best candidate, not only as Art's best negotiator, but also as one of the least threatening-looking.

As the meeting gets underway and the nicenesses observed, Tarik is carrying the tools back to the shuttle, while Iris tunes into the team feed to watch the meeting, and Ratthi watches Tarik walking.(5)

At the meeting, Bellagaia tells Karime there's another colony here. After some confusion, she clarifies that she means another colony site at the pole, where there's some terraforming still going on. Art cusses, and when Karime clarifies privately, Art suggests maybe Bellagaia is intoxicated. They debate whether their imaging could have revealed it, but they didn't expand much past the terraforming equipment, so likely never would have seen it.

Bellagaia continues that they split when the contamination first became obvious. The equipment blocks some comm signals, so they haven't been in regular contact in some time. Then when the latest outbreak started, they worried about spreading it to a community that was never infected. Danis mutters that they only think the pole colony was never infected, and they could be dead by now.

Karime says they can go to the pole and ask them what's going on and warn them about B-E, but asks if B-E knows about them yet. Danis says Faction Two would never tell them, though Variset is less confident in that, and even Danis acknowledges subfactions might have done so.

Another human points out that the colony site wouldn't have been on the charter, because it wasn't meant to be a secondary site. On Art, Seth groans, and it takes MB a moment to figure out why: this means another revamp of the forged charter, while they're already running out of time.

More debate in the feed about how they missed the site.(6) The unnamed human is named, Corian, who uses vi/vir pronouns, and is the local historian and record-keeper. When Karime asks if there's anything else to know about the other colony site, Corian says contact ended twenty years ago, and there have been reports of attempted connections, but no verified contact since. The group was separatist already, so the lack of communication isn't so surprising. And, vi has no records of where the official site was set up. There were only rumours that it was in a cave system.

This leaves Karime a little visibly sunken, and the rest of the team visibly shaken as well. Karime asks if vi thinks it's another contaminated site, and Corian says either way, the problem is obvious.

Mensah taps MB in the feed, so MB loops her in as well. Some of the other colonists are protesting that there's no evidence of another contaminated site, but Bellagaia looks exhausted, and Karime's still just listening intently to Corian, though vi has little more to add.

Mensah had had time to review the feed video. She muttered, “Oh, you have to be kidding me.” Yeah.

(1) A truly noble goal. Though, I'm not sure we'd be better off if more humans were able to detach/compartmentalize enough to do that. (2) Surely this can't last all book right? We have to get an answer eventually? (3) Even aside from its old traumas, Murderbot is dealing with such big fresh ones. It's so much. My poor blorbo. (4) This is one of the little quotes I was spoiled for, and I'm so pleased to find it in its original context. And, we haven't spent a lot of time with Iris, but I can see it. But, this also indicates a little bit of... Well, Ratthi's always been there, but Mensah's always been MB's focus-human. It's interesting that it considers Ratthi its primary human, since that seems to be Art's dynamic with Iris. (5) Another bit I was spoiled for, and WHO CAN BLAME THE GOOD PEOPLE OF TUMBLR?! (6) This is a little bit wearing on me, I feel like they're just repeating over and over to confuse and add tension? Also I don't remember mentions of air bubbles in Network Effect over the settlements… It's all just a bit odd to me.

this website's opinions on rpf are so silly to me bc they'll crucify someone for writing fanfiction about Harry Styles or something but are totally fine with fic about Gordon Ramsay bc "obviously no one would take That seriously". Like do you think there are people who genuinely think Harry Styles is a mob boss or kidnapped a girl with a penchant for messy buns and "keep calm" t shirts? lmao

like as long as you don't go out of your way to make the subject of the rpf uncomfortable I don't see the problem. For example- Markiplier fanfiction definitely crossed the line bc ppl kept sending ship art of him and his friends which did make him uncomfortable around said friends.

I think it's because something like Gordon Ramsay fic is obviously a joke, but One Direction fan fiction may not be taken seriously in terms of being taken as fact, but people probably put serious work into the One Direction slash fics, and that's what's considered bad.

People get extremely moralistic about RPF, and the more time I've spent on here, the sillier the outrage seems to me. I can't remember if I've brought up this point on here before, but having an interest in the lives of celebrities is actually a lot more common (and older) than people realize; the entire PR industry would not exist if average people weren't curious about who celebrities are as people, nor would the entire gossip industry! People have made money off stories on celebrities for decades because people wanna know about them! Given how normalized this aspect of celebrity culture is, I don't think RPF is inherently a crazy next step tbh, and my thing is that the celebrity gossip industry has had real harm on celebrities, but RPF has not. Think of Queen: Freddie was hounded by the press in the last years of his life, and even Brian had his family problems made worse by them being thrust into the spotlight. To this day, tabloids are rewriting Freddie's sexuality and legacy. Tabloid stories about the band have been infinitely more harmful than anything on AO3 only read by a handful of people who know it's fake, as opposed to the thousands, if not millions of people who have read Queen tabloid garbage presented as truth.

I will say I think it's different with internet "celebrities." They're not real celebrities, they're just average people as accessible to people online as you and I are, so they're far more likely to see RPF than an actual A-list celebrity. I'm not saying people should never write it, I'm just saying. I do think that no matter what, RPF should never be sent to the real people involved, period, end of story.

P.S.: I do think there are lines in RPF which shouldn't be crossed, but that's another post.

Manga With Me: JJK Pocket Theory Edition

Last Man Standing

New Jujutsu Kaisen art has got everyone abuzz and there’s absolutely cause for concern. First of all LOOK AT IT.

I've hypothesized before about who I think the last person standing will be and I'm almost positive that there's an old interview somewhere where Gege Akutami specified that, in regards to Gojo and our favorite first years, either they'll all get the axe by the end of the story or there will be one. lone. survivor. This is pretty on brand for the misery JJK manga readers are accustomed to suffering. Let's dive into what we think we know.

⚠️ Spoiler warning through chapter 187.

Notably, the artwork uses juxtaposition to set Geto, Sukuna, Megumi and Yuta, Yuji and Gojo off sides respectively. To explore why that is we have to understand motivation.

Geto

is pictured pre-Kenjaku and opposing Yuta which appears to speak to their altercation in Volume 0. Geto, in facing off with Yuta, did so with the hopes to claim Special Grade Curse Rika Orimoto or the Queen of Curses. Geto's end objective to kill off non-sorcerers would objectively be a lot simpler with Rika at his disposal, especially when you consider his Maximum: Uzumaki technique which, with her boost to his collection of curses, could probably lay waste to everything. Ultimately, he lost that fight and his body was usurped by Kenjaku. As it stands, Kenjaku has a murky connection to none other than:

Sukuna

who is picture opposite to Yuji for obvious reasons. The struggle for control seems to be teetering back and forth despite the 15 fingers Yuji has consumed to date. Sukuna's end goal is yet to be fully realized as, though he was initially introduced with a desire to murder and maim, there seems to be an ulterior objective that connects him to Kenjaku and more importantly to Uraume. Recent chapters suggest Kenjaku and Sukuna's individual goals may depart from one another; however, Sukuna is playing a long game having gotten Kenjaku to seemingly forge him a vessel, forced Yuji to make a secret Binding Vow and meeting up with Uraume in all the chaos of the Shibuya Arc as if this were pre-established. What we do know is that whatever Sukuna's planning it involves:

Megumi

who piqued Sukuna's attention during their initial fight. It isn't until recently that we begin to understand why that is as seen below.

Initially, this seemed like a strategic decision Gojo made when deciding to take Megumi in. He knew the value of his technique to the Zenin clan but also how, with proper guidance, this alliance could swing the direction of the jujutsu world if they shared a similar end goal. From Sukuna's perspective, Megumi is the key to ending the Six Eyes User and perhaps a lot more.

From the new art above, we could assume that those to the left may share a common denominator yet to be realized. Some hypothesize that those depicted to the left are set to lose given the decisive nature of the initial battle between Geto and Yuta (also isn't it weird that the same curse he used against Toji is there?). There are interview snippets from Akutami that talk about Megumi's ending being decided though Yuji's is still up in the air so that determination may be a bit premature.

I do anticipate some sort of reckoning or face off between Megumi and Gojo. Though I assume it'll be more psychological, we can't ignore the manga page above. I'm forever intrigued by Akutami's public aloofness when talking about the direction of the story but headcanon that they are in fact meticulously setting us up for despair. It just feels like too many details are reincorporated back into the story in a way that suggests distinct motive. I also think they're hyper aware of how we conspiracists take their interviews to heart when imagining what happens next. Hypothesis

In the case of a lone survivor, I can't decide what makes the most amount of sense. On the one hand, I assume Gege would choose one of the students to keep over Gojo as they love to make that man suffer. But I think the greatest pain would be losing the lot of them and Gojo being forced to carry on alone, ever the strongest much to his own agony.

If Gege keeps a student, I think it'd be Yuji or Nobara (what a great surprise that would be). Why?

Megumi's end is already decided. If Megumi is meant to be the only person who can rival Gojo and they could truly wipe one another out... that takes two people off the board right there.

Yuji's end is up in the air. By the notion of only allowing one survivor, we would have to assume Megumi is already out of the running.

They haven't said anything about Nobara. Her being MIA and not explicitly confirmed to be dead, I assume the toss up for lone survivor would be here if it were just between the first years.

positively tired of the series trying to act like ve6eta got an semblance of a proper redemption arc when they just threw a woman at him and some kids and called it a day. they also keep flip flopping on him being "reformed" but still struggling to be allies with goku and being a better person (he's allowed to be an anti hero just stop acting like he's going to be anything but that)

the anime's art style feels incredibly plastic and stiff and i KNOW someone's going to come in an talk about the final arc but !!! that was ONLY the finale !!! 90% of the the art and animation in this series just feels sanitized yet everyone still looks distractingly disproportionate (that isn't to say DB's always had perfect proportions but it's far more obvious with super's extremely-polished style and coloring. also this isn't a dig at the animators cause i doubt they're given proper conditions to work and make something perfect)

every time there's an interesting concept super never goes through with it and overall it just feels very safe and pandering. like the goku black arc is a great example of setting up interesting ideas but not following through: trunks' entire timeline has been erased and instead of showing an actual distress or turmoil or realizing every single thing he's done up to that point was all for nothing, he just shrugs his shoulders and goes "alright. guess we're gonna go to a different timeline now where we just have to pretend like those people are the actual people we love and care about even though in reality they'll never be like the people we loved and lost and fought for nothing for"

frieza and roshi need to fuck off. In Seriousness super keeps bringing back "popular" characters for the most cracked reasons and it's undeniably because of their popularity even though they've already been exhausted of use in the series. roshi is ESPECIALLY the most irritating (and confusing- his peak was OG DB yet i have high doubts a lot of DB fans even watched/read OG DB so the choice to bring him back is so ?????) since he was retired for twenty fucking years and now the series wants me to believe as though he SUDDENLY just got a great boost of power to be good enough to take to a multi-universe tournament when he was too chicken shit to even face raditz at the start of the series (and thats not a dig at raditz, it's just pointing out that in the greater scheme raditz is nothing compared to the threats of super and therefore roshi's power boost is even more egregious to acknowledge because of that)

the absolute bastardization of goku's character in order to boost ve6eta's or just to make him look like a twit and appeal to western fans' interpretation of him. like who is this??? this isn't my man??? and it's not like the concept of goku becoming so power and fight hungry that he loses himself isn't an interesting concept but they never build an actual story AROUND that concept and it's just a product of terrible character direction

this circles back to roshi in a way and is always a part of a critique of the buu saga but the failure to upkeep the Pass On The Torch theme that OG DB had set up for the rest of the series. it's not even a team effort anymore it's literally JUST goku and ve6eta taking care of everything while the others MIGHT MAYBE SOMETIMES tag along to take care of extras and it's so frustrating seeing super underutilize its cast and its flexibility to expand on them as characters and people

the dunking on yamcha is new and it's annoying. contrary to popular belief DB and DBZ has always respected yamcha as an actual character and person, yet DBS only ever treats him like a pathetic walking punchline. it's dually upsetting to see the cast- yamcha's close friends and family- disrespect him too when we've seen in the past the likes of goku were willing to stand up for him and treat him as a respectable fighter and person. such characters aren't a bad thing in media but when you take a character with an actual personality, history, and dreams and shave all of that off for a joke it's horribly insulting to longtime fans and to the effort that took to build up that character (though let's face it, toriyama hasn't care for yamcha in years or any of his characters honestly. he flies by the seat of his pants: any and all of his "brilliance" is by pure accident)

despite all the aliens and otherworldly beings, the series hardly ever actually takes place on different planets and stays on earth. even when they do, it just feels like another arena to fight in: they might as well fight in one of the millions of deserts than on another planet. and fighting on earth only wouldn't be a problem if the series actually made earth feel like an actual place worth protecting and not like a backdrop. there's no world in super, it's just another arena with moments of peace. at the very least they could reintroduce supernatural elements like monsters and mythical beings if they're so intent on staying on earth. the only time they actually bothered to do something like this was during the goku black saga and if there were more moments like that to remind us that there are actual people living on this planet then that'd be great

goten and trunks are a mash up of issue 4 and 6 but they're just so underutilized. like they're hardly characters, they're just accessories to the setting and to goku and ve6eta. at the very least trunks has future trunks, but goten?? there's NOTHING for him: the most interesting thing about him is that he accessed super saiyan the easiest (which itself i already had issues with but whatever this isn't the post for that) yet he does fuck all. there aren't even moments where we get to see these two act like characters with thoughts beyond "let's be kids today", their only purpose honestly is just to fuse to make gotenks- and even HIM we hardly ever see

CHAPTER 10:

"You look nice, Deku" Uraraka smiled, her hands held behind her back as she rocked back and forth on the balls of her feet in a childish manner, looking at her green haired friend. "Is there anyone in particular you're trying to impress?" she gave him a knowing look that Izuku stuttered and blushed to.

"No! O-of course not" he immediately denied and averted his eyes when that only seemed to make Uraraka's smirk widen. Izuku knew he was a terrible liar and Uraraka could be very scary sometimes. "But um, hypothetically speaking.. if I /were/ trying to impress someone- which I'm not- but hypothetically speaking do you think they'll.. you know. Be impressed? Hypothetically."

Uraraka looked her friend up and down. Izuku's fashion sense has definitely improved since the beginning of their first year. Both Tsuyu and herself had made sure to teach Deku and Todoroki a thing or two about dressing themselves since they were completely clueless sometimes. Midoriya was wearing brown, cuffed corduroy pants with a forest green oversized short sleeve button up, a lighter green long sleeve underneath that to create layers. The red shoes were never going away though and Uraraka gave up in trying to get him to wear another pair of shoes. He looked good and Uraraka noticed how his hair was a bit neater too so he obviously put a bit of extra effort into trying to style his curls. In fact, looking around the common room it seemed that Deku wasn't the only one who put a little extra effort into their appearance today. Half the boys there looked like they were going off to a party instead of a casual class outing. Even Iida looked like he was trying out a new hairstyle. No glasses either.

"Umm, Uraraka-san?" Izuku waved his hand in front of the girl's face to get her attention. She zoned out for a bit there and she blinked, turning to face him again.

"Oh, right! Well, /hypothetically speaking/ right?" she smiled and he nodded, "I think they'll be very impressed." Deku beamed and her eyes shifted to Todoroki who was just arriving downstairs. "Oh, look! There's Todoroki-kun. Let's go talk" she grabbed Deku's hand in hers and took him with her. He looked very good! Todoroki's aesthetic was more of a simplistic/classy style with neutral colors. This time he decided to switch it up and was wearing a white t-shirt with an unbuttoned, loose fitting pale blue and white striped dress shirt over that. He had black jeans and white sneakers too. He looked very good. "Oooo~ is there anyone /you're/ trying to impress, Todoroki-kun?" Ochako teased.

"Yes."

Ochako didn't expect such a direct answer but giggled anyway at her blunt friend. Deku on the other hand didn't find it as funny.

"Is Bakugou here yet?" Shoto changed the subject and looked around the common room but didn't spot the explosion quirk user anywhere. He felt a little disappointed.

"No, Kacchan isn't here. Neither is Kirishima-kun" Izuku really tried to keep the bitterness out of his tone. He knew that they were best friends but did they really have to be glued at the hip 24/7? Deku doesn't like the way he starts to feel when he thinks of those two together but he can't help it.

"Oh" Shoto mumbled. There was an awkward silence where no one said anything for a few seconds until Uraraka couldn't stand it and broke it.

"So how are you feeling, Todoroki-kun? Are you still tired or are you feeling a bit better from earlier?" Ochako questioned. That got Izuku's attention and he turned to Todoroki with a curious expression. Was he sick? Todoroki didn't mention anything to him today. He wondered why he didn't tell him.

"I feel better, thank you. I'm excited to be going out with my friends" he smiled briefly and Izuku returned it. After that things started to go back to normal as they talked about what stores they wanted to go to and if they had anything in particular they wanted to buy. The common room was filled with brief conversation before the 'ding' of the elevator was heard and everyone turned to look at a nervous Kirishima standing on the far opposite side of a bored looking Bakugou. Izuku felt a knot form in his throat and Todoroki felt his heart skip a beat, their faces heating up a little at what girl Kacchan was wearing. He looked good. Hell, even if he was in his normal body and wore that he'd look good.

"You're here!" Mina rushed forward to hug her two friends in a crushing hug which Kirishima gladly returned. The girls may or may not be feeling smug at how everyone reacted to seeing Bakugou. Yeah, they did that.

"I said I would go with you extras, didn't I? Now let go, pinky" Bakugou groaned. She smiled wide before stepping back.

"This'll be so much fun!" Mina jumped up and down.

"Everyone please form a single file line for attendance! As class president I must make sure everyone is accounted for before we vacate school grounds" Iida made sure to grab everyone's attention by speaking loud and clear as well as waving his arms about. Where he pulled the clipboard from no one knows but Iida started to check off names in the class roster to submit to Aizawa sensei once they come back in a few hours. "Alright. Everyone is here. We can go now" he nodded in confirmation.

The class had to take the bus to go to the mall so Iida stayed by the door until everyone was inside before going in himself. Bakugou was planning to sit with Kirishima but the redhead as soon as he was in the bus went and sat beside Sero instead. Katsuki was confused since they always sit together and even Sero was looking between the pair in confusion. "You don't mind, right Bakubro?" Kirishima awkwardly scratched the back of his neck. Bakugou just shrugged and moved on to find an empty seat to which Kirishima let out a breath he didn't even know he was holding.

"What was that?" Sero questioned once Bakugou was out of earshot.

"What was what?" Kirishima turned to him.

"That. You always sit with Bakugou so why all of a sudden did you decide to sit next to me? I don't mind but I was a little caught off guard, man. You know, you've been acting weird ever since the night we played games in my room. Is everything cool?" Sero had an idea of what was happening but he wanted to hear it from Kiri himself.

"Yeah, everything's good. I just need to sort some things out for myself first" he explained and Sero nodded, leaving it at that. Kirishima appreciated that about Sero. He knew if it was Mina or Kaminari they wouldn't stop pestering him about it. Kirishima just wanted some time to hopefully figure out why he was all of a sudden feeling so weird around Katsuki.

On the other end of the bus, towards the back, Bakugou found an empty seat. Everyone else seemed to be already sitting with someone else but he didn't really mind it. Once seated, Bakugou put his elbow up on the edge of the window and looked outside. He felt someone slightly tap his shoulder though and looked up to a shy Koda. 'May I sit here?' he signed and Bakugou raised an eyebrow. He rolled his eyes and signed back 'go for it' and Koda smiled a little, quickly sitting down beside Bakugou. Aizawa did mention that because of his quirk, he may experience hearing loss in the future if he didn't take the proper precautions so Bakugou has been taking JSL classes from Koda since the beginning of their second year and developed a somewhat mutual understanding with the guy. He really wasn't all that bad, just a little quiet. And while they weren't friends friends, Bakugou knew that if he ever needed a quiet place to study or just hang out for a bit without talking, he could go to Koda's room. The same went for Bakugou. If Koda ever wanted to spar or wanted pointers to help in improving his fighting skills, Bakugou is available.

Now that everyone had a seat, the bus began to move. The ride was going to take approximately fifteen to twenty minutes so he just wanted to use the break to relax. Bakugou could tell Koda wanted to say something based on the way he would look at him every few minutes but then look away though. "What is it?" he finally asked a little less than halfway into the trip and Koda shook his head. "I know you want to say something, now what is it?"

Koda looked hesitant at first but then signed 'how are you feeling?' with a sincere look. Maybe if it was someone else Bakugou would have told them off for getting into his business but Koda was someone who earned his respect and admiration throughout their time together in UA and who he saw as an equal.

"Why do you ask?" he asked instead, a bit defensive, and Koda responded by signing 'this is a big change and I was just wondering how you were doing.' Bakugou shrugged. "It isn't something I can't handle. Besides, today is the last day of the quirk so I should be back to normal by tomorrow morning" Bakugou mumbled, adding in a "thanks" as an afterthought. Honestly speaking, Koda has been the only one who's asked him how he felt about this whole quirk situation. The rest of his classmates all just seemed to be having fun with it and while he didn't mind, it was nice to be asked.

'You're always welcome to come hang out with me and my bunny if you ever need quiet time,' Koda offered. 'He told me he misses the angry blonde boy with the warm hands" he joked. Bakugou smirked a little with a "tch, sure whatever. Tell 'im I miss the furball too" leaving his lips. After that Bakugou and Koda fell into a comfortable silence where Bakugou closed his eyes to rest for the few minutes they had left on the bus ride.

Everyone else in class 3-A never thought they'd see the day where they all wished they were in Koda's place. The anivoice boy was sitting perfectly still so as to not wake the pretty blonde that had leaned his head on the other's shoulder sometime along the trip and was now sleeping peacefully on him.

I’m very curious to see how you are gonna rewrite the RWBY girls. Are you gonna redesign Blake and Weiss as well?

For the most part a lot less will be changing for Team RWBY than for Adam, though they'll be getting tweaks here and there. I'll also be doing stuff like adding hobbies and interests outside of being hunters for them. Like on top of being a bookworm, Blake is also herself a writer and goes to the poetry and literature clubs on campus, and she's also a decent artist; Yang is a mechanic but also enjoys doing nail art; Ruby is a weapons engineer of exceptional talent and overlaps with Blake in reading and being an artist; Weiss is actually without a hobby that her father didn't direct her into so she'll be trying out all sorts of different ones to see which ones she truly likes for herself.

Blake is gonna be the one to have the most changes applied to her because her status as daughter of two of Solace's ministers is acknowledged from the get-go, plus changes to the White Fang and the fact that she and Adam were never a couple, as well as an event in her private life that resulted in a complete loss of faith in humans. The changes to Blake's background make her very jaded toward humans, so she's pretty cold toward Ruby and Yang at first(she's just openly hostile toward Weiss and honestly good for her, she has every reason to be hostile toward Weiss) but she warms up to them when they prove themselves. Because of the bad falling-out she had with Adam when they were 13, she's also not on good terms with him and he tries to avoid her at all costs until they properly hash things out.

For Ruby and Yang, their motivations for becoming hunters is set in stone before they head to Beacon: they want to become strong enough to go out and find Summer's remains so they can bring her home to be properly buried, and they want to be strong enough to keep their family safe so they'll never have to suffer that loss again.

Weiss is coming from the position of very blatantly being Jacques's favorite and is going to have a lot of prejudice and arrogance to unlearn once she gets to Beacon. It's going to be a rough arc for Weiss and there's a lot of growing she has to do, but the story and her team are not gonna let her catch a break. Once her political leanings have progressed enough, she's then going to start coming into conflict with Jacques.

And going from there... I'm just really excited. Yang's gonna catch feelings for Blake pretty early in the semester, Blake's gonna have the situation with Adam to deal with and try to resolve on top of having to be around Weiss all while discovering that she can trust Ruby and Yang, Ruby's gonna be looking for answers about some paranormal stuff she happened upon in the first chapter, Weiss is going to have to grow as a person if she wants to get anywhere at Beacon... And that's just a few threads for the main four that take place in the first semester.

I have the basic character dynamics down and I'm still finding and figuring out new stuff to add. It's a lot to do but I'm having a fun time and I hope you guys will too.💖

(If you meant visual redesigns, I'll probably tweak their Beacon combat outfits to show less skin while also adding a bunch of casual outfits like the ones for Ruby and Yang that I already posted. It's pretty standard for hunters to imbue their combat attire with various types of dust to give it special properties, so the more they cover up the better.)
