THEEEEE POINT of rand is that, in the end, the reason he's able to succeed where lews therin failed is NOT his power, it's his good heart and the support of his found family. in the end, he's not a warrior hero, he's a philosophical hero. rand's fight in the last battle is a fight of philosophy and ethics, and it's his friends who are out on the frontlines of the physical fighting, leading armies and protecting him.

so people complaining that the battle with ishy was changed from Solo Rand Power Trip To Show Why He Is More Special Than The Other Characters to a moment of all his friends gathering together to support him, protect him, fight with him, and remind him that he is not alone in this and that they're stronger when they're together...............i'm sorry, but i truly don't think you read the same books i did. (and before you come for me, rand is my second favorite character in the whole series after elayne, so don't come in here saying that i Just Don't Get It because i don't love him enough.)

#this was a PERFECT mirror of the last battle #and a perfect encapsulation of a number of Series Themes (not least: it was about them all!!!)#for the love of god rand will OBVIOUSLY get his Big Power Trips during a time in the show WHEN IT MAKES SENSE FOR HIM TO BE THAT POWERFUL #next season will be ALL ABOUT him leveling up his powers and abilities. so CHILLAX #and appreciate all the beautiful work the first 2 seasons have put into his character and his relationships with others #that groundwork will be CRUCIAL in the journey to come. far more crucial than him getting big channeling moments right now #rand al'thor #wot #wot on prime #the wheel of time #wot book spoilers #wot show spoilers

Gay ships getting screwed over by homophobic producers/writers as soon as they get wind of it is nothing new, but what has been done to stucky really is uniquely cruel.

I’ve never heard of a gay ship having one member’s importance to the other simply... written out of the show/film? (Has this been done?)

Never heard of a gay ship having decades of important source material about them deliberately sabotaged just to spite a gay ship (that wasn’t even canonically gay or ever going to be so, anyway?)

Or having the (heterosexual-ising) female character literally put into the male character’s canon place, using his gay-inspiring scenes, with any other ship.

I’ve never heard of an actor’s brilliant performance, which made certain lines iconic; whose skill as an actor is the very reason they’re iconic... simply being taken away from him and credited to an untalented actress who never said them.

Just to damage an un-canon gay ship?!

Imagine they brought out new Trek shows with Kirk and Spock and said ‘anyway, Spock never meant anything to Kirk, every Spirk thing he said was actually said to/about his new wife Spacky (Woman who joined the Hating-Vulcans Society and hired guys to torture Spock) and here’s a flashback to Spacky as Kirk’s Chief Science Officer all those years. Also we will be buying up other media and editing all tie-ins to reflect that they are nOT GAY.’

It’s unprecedentedly monstrous.

general question for anyone whod care to answer: was there a moment that supernatural really clicked for you? for me i was enjoying it as a casual viewer for the first season but by the end of Heart it clicked and i went from enjoyment to obsessed

#i think heart was it because it was this huge defining moment of. like you will have to kill sam. this is what hes going to become. and when #sam gives dean this teary look before going to the next room to kill madison and deans single tear nd flinching at the sound of the gunshot #its sam being so small and afraid and so young and dean little brother and both dean and sam coming to this point where they both understan #this is what has to be done. you kill monsters. you cant let them live. youll have to kill him too.#its like. this HUGE defining moment. where they both rly reckon with sam being a monster and his death at deans hands.#yet i feel like its not rly talked abt in the fandom. i guess thats bc there r like 10 other moments like that in season 2 #because supernatural likes to harp on about things then do nothing about them lol
