Probably The best Stormlight Archives review I’ve seen because it’s complaining about everything that I liked about the series but it’s also hilariously true:
“This book is mind-bogglingly bad. I'm always looking for fantasy books and I knew this was very popular so, after a few years I've decided to try it. I can stomach the childish depiction of characters but I cannot bring myself to accept the utter idiocy of the setting. The opening is painfully bad: an all powerful assassin kills a king and his guard by having superpowers taken straight out of videogames. Then we are introduced with the hero, who, of course, rejects the greatest conceivable honour in the world out of pure spite. He is then spared his life out of sheer plot armour, and the reader is left wondering why he hasn't been killed for constant rebellion. His mates are all killed, but he survives because, oh, he's sooo special. Slaves are paid a living wage so that there is a way for the hero to earn money because it's needed by the story. When the hero screws up, his senior officers are killed immediately but he's instead given a chance to survive, and, not very surprisingly, he does. Then there is a war in the Shattered Plains: for six years the warriors, instead of fighting, go looking for overgrown shrimps to steal the enormous emeralds that grow inside of them. I kid you not, this is the primary purpose of the war: not beating the enemy but killing the shrimps while they're pupating (to turn into what, an enormous blowfly?) before the enemy slays it. The entire strategy works like this: the entire army is sitting idly, wearing fashionable scarves and drinking wine. A horn sounds in the distance announcing that a shrimp has been found. The warriors scramble to arrive first, before the enemy but, more importantly, before the other commanders. The moronicity of the portable bridges defies belief. The idiocy never seem to finish: soldiers with organic armour, illiterate kings with learned wives, even the regular storms that make magic. The hero, of course, discover magic that has been hidden in plain sight for countless years. In a specific kingdom, people live with feet constantly in two inches of water. In another, people eat horns and shells. For some reason, on a different planet, people know of Japanese katas. I could go on for hours: avoid this book.”

Okay so finished book one and ugh spoiler free review as best as I can. First of all 9/10. I would say 10/10 but it’s very clear that this book is like set up to be a duology so like it’s very slow build with a lot of the meat of the story happening in the later half. Which just means that while the beginning is written beautifully is just a little bit meaty to get through cause there’s not that much going on plot wise.
Character wise though there’s a lot. Zhu is such a wonderful protagonist and narrator truly the way she sees the world is so vibrant and they have like an insane fairytale trickster energy to them that I adore. Also despite this not being like a clear genderqueer story (as in it’s not modern so that understanding of gender isn’t really said) she is such amazing representation and I related to her a lot! Her dialogue is so bright and vibrant and full of vitality even in the darker spots it’s great!
Meanwhile Ouyang is this wonderful foil. He’s so deep and angry and bitter and jaded and instead of it feeling like a slog to get through your chomping at the bit reading it. Great unreliable narrator I never knew entirely what he was thinking because even he was so conflicted about it. (For my TGCF girlies he’s extremely He Xuan coded and it’s great).
I can’t wait to see them interact more in the next book. I stand by my statement that their dynamic is gender euphoria sword fighting body dysmoria in a parking lot
Also Ma Xiuying you’re so wonderful and compassionate and angry and full of fire and life I am so so in love with you please yell at more people it’s so sexy of you. It’s so great to get a POV character that is just as intelligent as the other protagonists but while they are both cold thinkers she’s like full of empathy and emotion. I adore her I need more of her in the next book.
Also thank you Shelly Parker Chan for giving me two wonderful insane queer relationships I was surprised by the sex scene (if you know you know but good for her) but it was so well written and perfectly fit in with all the politics and scheming and war.
Anyway on to book 2 but if you haven’t read this yet you should it’s great!

A brief reading update
⭐️ — Tried something new or expanded my horizons
📝 — Writing research
🔵 — Sequel, reread, or genre comfort zone
.
⭐️/🔵 A Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin
Read this simply because it’s so influential and I wanted to know where things were coming from, hah.
Thanks to cultural osmosis I know I have almost no interest in pursuing the story further down the series and subjecting myself to various heartbreaks, but for this first installment in isolation, I quite liked it! I can see why it’s popular. The prose is good and some of the characters are compelling.
I particularly like how GRRM writes moments when characters’ perceptions — of themselves, or of events, or of possibilities — change.
.
🔵 He Who Drowned the World by Shelley Parker-Chan
I liked this a lot!
There were some things that weren’t entirely to my tastes. One was that the prose sometimes felt a bit too poetic in character’s conceptions of events and interpersonal connections, in a similar vein to This Is How You Lose the Time War. (And that is, indeed, 100% a matter of taste!) Another was one or two plot conveniences.
But those are pretty minor gripes. Overall, I really love how it wrapped up the queer themes established in the first book, in both the tragedies wrought by buying into societal expectations and the fierce — if terribly costly — reshaping of would-be tragedy via the rejection of those expectations.

Title: He Who Drowned the World Author: Shelley Parker-Chan Publication Year: 2023 Publisher: Tor Books Genre: fiction, fantasy, historical fiction, queer lit
Just when you thought the stakes couldn't get higher, Parker-Chan raised them with more political intrigue and a surprising amount of darkness that will have you on the edge of your seat. There are more perspectives we're getting in this sequel to really reveal the complex web that the author crafted. Parker-Chan seized this opportunity and did a phenomenal job fleshing out fascinating, morally grey characters, many of them changing a fair bit compared to She Who Became the Sun.
Once again, Parker-Chan dives deep into gender and sexuality, though I felt there was more discussion on femininity in the sequel than in the first book, which was refreshing. I think more could have been done on this front, especially considering that we got more of Ma's and Madam Zhang's perspectives on ongoing politics and scheming, though I didn't think it was unsatisfying either— I absolutely loved that the author continued to explore (toxic) masculinity. I was especially invested in Baoxiang's perspective and the way he negotiated with his own sexuality.
In the first novel, I didn't feel the fantastical elements worked particularly well. I think this was attended to rather well in the sequel, and the ghostly elements really did add a lot to the story (particularly towards the end).
Parker-Chan did a fantastic job wrapping up a strong duology. Despite the significant losses and violence in He Who Drowned the World, it all played out well like a high stakes chess game that you can't help but feel invested in.
Content Warning: death, violence, self harm, ableism, blood, misogyny, sexism, war, rape, sexual ssault, homophobia

Book review for Her Radiant Curse… 3.5⭐️
SNEKSSSSS
Tumblr media
Disclaimer: I have not read Six Crimson Cranes yet.
While the story was interesting in the beginning, it really dragged in the middle and I quickly found myself trying to rush through the boring parts to get to the “good” stuff.
The ending was quite surprising and I definitely did not expect it.

Fireworks By Alice Lin
Rating: ⭐️⭐️/5
Spoilers ahead
What I didn't like:
Honestly for a debut book, it wasn't the worst but I do wish the book was a bit longer amongst other things. The ending felt rushed and as did the resolution of the conflict. I know that YA books normally don't dive too deep into character's issues but I wish that we got to see more of the main character's issue with her dad. Especially since it seemed like her issue with her dad was influencing her decision on whether to pursue this relationship.
I also felt like there could have been more relationship/romance building between the main character and the love interest. When they had their moments, it didn't feel like they had too much chemistry. So that definitely made me feel less inclined to feel for the characters.
What I did like:
However, I did like that the main character had quite a nice friend group. I always am curious about how authors create the friend group of the main character and I think the author did a good job of creating likeable characters. Especially with the different friend dynamics, such as one that's more chill and the other one being a bit more direct & forward. I feel like that was slightly accurate given a friend group of three people.
I also liked that there was a diversity of characters. I guess that's not too much of a surprise since the main character is Asian. But the k-pop group that Kite is in it is also diverse. I must admit I'm currently into k-pop and have been for awhile now but it was nice to see the members being from multiple parts of the world.
As mentioned earlier, the issues of the k-pop industry were also talked about in this book. And while we as consumers may not be able to ever grasp the reality that all k-pop members experience, we can still get a glimpse of it through stories from trainees or members. The overflow of fanmail and stalking are prevalent issues that k-pop members face which is an unfortunate effect of their career. Along with that, the choice of not being able to always do things they want or even not getting along with their members.
The last thing I liked was that there was the format. On some pages before the start of a new chapter, there would be lyrics or things from Kite's interview. It was something I have never seen before in a YA book and as someone who loves music. I enjoyed this aspect of the book format.
Overall this book wasn't awful but I wouldn't re-read it again. I do hope to read Alice's books in the future though. This was a fast and fun read.
Tumblr media
I'm not sure if I'll change my format for these book reviews but for now, I'll leave it as is. Thank you for reading this review, I'd be curious to see if anyone had similar or different thoughts with mine.

Tumblr media
"And you thought I won't notice?"
You flinched to the sudden dark voice from the stairs. The ceiling lights and the lamps had a warm radiant but those lights were still piercing on your skin. As if the hatred inside you was adding to the heat of the lights.
Your piercing eyes reflected the shining light of the light chain decorated on the railings. You gripped the glass tighter in your hand, feeling the anger rising in you to watch him descending the stairs.
He should slip a step and fall from the stairs in front of you. You scoffed mentally.
The boots hit to the marbled stairs slowly, the walk was slow, too slow to let you hear each sound of his boot precisely and clearly.
Your glares directed towards him made his corner of the lip to tug upwards slightly. He watched you intently and noticed your slight fear which you were trying to hide it but still couldn't.
At this point, the grip on the glass could have broke it easily but somehow it didn't break.
Maybe like the hatred inside you was enough to burn him but the slight fear was more powerful to hold it back.
"Why are you here?" You hissed.
He eyed the glass in your grip and walked forward to stand a bit too close to your liking. you were glued to the ground where you were standing. you wanted to run away but still something inside you was forcing you to face it, face him like the royal you are. are you strong enough? maybe not. he is more powerful than you. both in morals and money.
"If I say...for you?" he said and leaned forward to inhale the perfume. he hummed near your ear, "same sweet smell. It always remind me of the night. don't you miss that night of us?"
"Never. why can't you just forget about it?"
he chuckled and stood straight, "oh it's too perfect and interesting to remember. how can I just let that sweet moment slip through my mind. I am carving it on a campus to make it remember even if I have amnesia one day."
you gritted your teeth and raised the glass to throw the wine at him but he was quick to get a hold of your hand and took away the glass from you. you glared at him but he just smirked at you and brought the glass to his lips, maintaining an eye contact with you. you could hear some people passing by the passage through, outside the main door of the hall in the backyard of the palace. you glanced to the direction of the door and hoped someone to enter so that you could escape his grip because your strength was nothing to his.
the voices became distant and the hope inside you died down with the rising of the bubble of the little fear.
"I hope you soon have the amnesia and so that I can kill you by myself." you wiggled your hand under his grip.
he ignored you and asked, "did you drink this yet? did your lips touched the glass?" He swirled the wine in the glass.
"why? will you drink from it now?"
he poked his inner cheek and smirked widely, "oh! I am craving for the lips from that night and if you don't give me the honor to devour them again then I have to do it in this way."
"Yunho, mind your words." you threatened him only to get a loud laugh from him. he threw his head back and amusedly watched his grip on your wrist. the image from that night flashed in front of his eyes. the same way you were whimpering under this hold and begging to him. He could feel something inside him stinging, might be the hatred for you.
"But you loved every words from me when I was choking you." He cocked an eyebrow and smirked.
"Please stop it."
"And if I don't?" He loosened his grip on your wrist and as soon as you stepped backward, he harshly grabbed your arm and pulled you towards him. "Does Wooyoung know about this?"
"About what?" You hissed at him because the grip was leaving red marks on your arm and the rings in his fingers were pressing on your skin.
The touch was filled with hatred or love?
It's visible that it's all about the hate for you.
"About us? The love we shared that night. The way I made you feel good." He leaned to your level to whisper into your ears, his breath hitting your nape and you shivered, "the way I marked you mine. When in the first place you were always his."
"There is nothing called us. That night was a mistake. Don't talk about it again. I don't want Wooyoung to know about it. And I am never yours."
He sipped the wine from your glass and closed his eyes, humming in the taste of the liquid. You watched him in disgust. Gulping down the glass, he noticed your glare.
He paused to stare at the door and when the voice of the person on the other side became distant and he noticed that you were distracted.
He threw the glass across the room and glared at you. You flinched to his sudden action and his grip tightened.
"y/n...y/n...y/n..."
He sang your name and his voice and the name coming out from his mouth sent a shiver down your spine. He noticed your little gulp and harshly turned you around and flushed your back against his chest.
"Y/n and Yunho...isn't our name fit nicely together?" He darkly chuckled in your ears. His one hand grabbing your arm tightly and the other placed on your throat. The hand was caressing the skin around when he suddenly squeezed it.
Your choking sound made him smile widely and in satisfaction he whispered, "it will be so fun to kill you, y/n."
You scoffed, "is that a threat?" and gritted your teeth.
He chuckled amusedly, "why? Does that sound like a compliment?"
He loosened his grip around your throat, you coughed out and took deep breaths but he held you against his body.
"Leave me, Yunho."
"I will only leave you when I will kill you."
He gripped your jaw and made you face him. His glares were strong, his muscles tight against the jaw and neck and the gritted teeth hissing at you.
"Then kill me."
"Y/n. Y/n, where are you?" Wooyoung's voice echoed around the place and you both could hear it. You broke the stare with him and looked towards the door when the door was pushed open.
Yunho changed your position quickly and placed his hand on your cheek and other still holding your arm. Smiling at you and you stared at him in confused silence.
Why is he suddenly acting like this?
Wooyoung entered the hall and found you with Yunho, he smiled at your form who was held by his brother. You both were facing side to him. Yet to notice his approaching steps towards you.
“There you are my love. What are you doing here, y/n? That even with Yunho?” He was smiling all the way and when he reached near you, you pushed Yunho’s hand and hugged Wooyoung, burying your face into his chest.
Wooyoung smiled and patted your head in his embrace and with confusion, he looked at his brother.
“What happened to her?”
Yunho chuckled, “she lost her balance in this dress and her glass fell from her grasp so I was just helping her out.”
Wooyoung nodded and felt your hug tightened around him. You clutched his coat tighter and closed your eyes in anger.
These brothers were always different from each other. Even this day, Wooyoung was in red attire representing his love and passion for you. Whereas Yunho in black attire radiating luxury and power in elegance shooting towards you.
“Are you okay, y/n?”
You nodded to his question and he urged you to stand straight. He told his brother that he would like to leave the place with you to spend some time and his brother nodded. He guided you towards the door and you followed him with your hand entangled with his and looking down. You could feel a stare burning hole on your back but you didn’t look back.
Yunho’s eyes followed till you both exited the door and took a turn. As soon as you were out of his sight, he grabbed his hairs and harshly brushed it back in annoyance.
“I will kill you, y/n.”
He clenched his jaw and glared at the way from where you left with his brother.
“Always remember that you are mine.”
He exhaled heavily and clenched his fist where his knuckled turned white and the palm was almost flushed red with slight edges of the nails digging into his skin.
“Mine to kill.”

❝ Mr. Evans fires up his projector, the screen of his laptop appearing on the big white board in front of the class as he begins making the rounds, handing back our latest essays.  “So I’m going to go out on a limb here, Miss Sinclair,” Evans says, stopping at my desk and holding my paper as he peers down at me. “Did you actually read the book, or did you read reviews?” I hear a snort behind me —from one of those horny football douchebags, no doubt— and I smile. “ You asked for an analysis of the story, so I watched the movie,” I explain, plucking my Anna Karenina paper out of his hand. “Spoiler alert, there was a lot of sex in it. ” Laughter breaks out, and I feel a rush hit my veins, pumping me up like a fresh shot of espresso. Mr. Evans and I constantly go head-to-head, yet I can’t help but admit that he is my favorite professor.  “I asked for an analysis of the novel, Ade– Miss Sinclair.” “And I tried” I tell him. “ But it was depressing and in a pointless way. What was I supposed to learn? Women, don’t cheat on your husbands in nineteenth century Russia, or you’ll be cast out of society and forced to throw yourself in front of a train?” I sit up in my seat. “Got it. And the next time I’m in nineteenth century Russia, I’m going to remember it and be a good little wife, thank you.” I hear the football douchebag chuckle again behind me, and more giggles break out in the room. But Evans lowers his voice, looking me deep in the eyes. “You’re so much better than this, Adelaide. Playing dumb and loud doesn’t make you more seen, but you’ll learn that one day,” he whispers. I stare at him for a moment, seeing the plea in his eyes. Seeing how highly he thinks of my intellect and how angry he is that I don’t make better use out of it. Too bad, I’m not done. Not when I feel the radiant energy of being the center of attention.

“wedding weekends with wonwoo ” by @suhnshinehaos
first off when is it my turn for this? this was so so cute and GOD I LOVED EVERY PART OF IT, like 🧍🏻‍♀️ Wonwoo being smitten and a photographer?? also y/n being a florist?
Also I really loved the dialogue and building of a relationship between Wonwoo and y/n. It felt nicely paced and I was very much smiling so hard. I know this review is so short but I really loved this!
highly rec to anyone loves the wedding au or scenes and a rom-com kind of feel
Tumblr media
the soulmate service by @dkfile
asodiajsd, I finished this last night after putting it off b/c the big word count scared me ngl bUT IM SO GLAD I WENT THRU BECAUSE THIS WAS MADE ME FEEL SO MANY THINGS
I was even more scared b/c it said ambiguous ending and I was like shit, am I emotionally prepared? I will say tho, I didn’t think it was super open ended (which was good for me b/c I was scared shitless). Anyhow, I loved the formatting and the story.
I wasn’t expecting that ending and for Vernon to be the person paired with y/n but like I caught on after he was talking about how the person didn’t like them back. But also I have to say, I understood the red-string (or just string) au but I didn’t understand what it meant if it turned gold. I think that would have helped me understand it a bit more because I couldn’t find anything online 😭
The pacing was also greatly done as seen with the change in both Vernon’s and y/n’s attitude towards each other. I have to also mention I loved the way it touched upon y/n and their thoughts about DK. Because obviously they liked them a lot but slowly those thoughts went away by hanging out Vernon. Then tied to Vernon thinking that he’ll never get you b/c you’re too hung up on him. While it’s true, that starts to fade as y/n starts to hang more with Vernon.
Idk why but I liked that because it feels more realistic. Obviously y/n’s feelings for DK weren’t gonna go poof in an instant and them mentioning DK in conversations still shows that they still do think about him. I feel like sometimes people rush over that part about getting over someone in stories. Anyhow I digress.
I highly rec if you like a long fic with slice-of-life, a rom-com type of feel, fluff, with a touch of angst to tie it all together

10 Ways To Get Over Gyu by @just-some-random-blogger
an emotional rollercoaster with this one </3 especially with the ending too
this one is a bit short b/c I read it a while ago but I liked this one. Honestly I couldn’t believed that I got through it one go but the story was so damn interesting and I needed to know how tf this ended.
NAUR BECAUSE THE PROGRESSION OF THEIR RELATIONSHIP HURT. It was quite sad to see them become best friends to something like friends.
I’d rec this if you’re looking for angst 😭

perpetual midnight by @httplastic
good god, THIS ONE, THIS ONE IT’S THIS ONE OFFICER
I can’t put in a lot of words why I loved this one sm?? Other than the mundaneness of y/n’s routine and meeting vernon and then falling for him was so well done. Also y/n’s iconic line of “If by any chance we meet again, then maybe” LIKE HELLO??
I think I also just have a soft ass spot for slice-of-life and this really fit the vibes plus it does really remind of Vernon. Appreciating all the small things you do in a day and making the most of it. Ugh, so good
I’d rec this if you love slice-of-life with fluff and the trope(?) of strangers to lovers and also slow burn.

Will you marry me? by @fernspotsvt
I’m already laughing as I write this. This fic made me laugh so much that I had to close my phone a few times to take a breather. Has to be one of the funniest fics I’ve read for Seungkwan and much more for a proposal one.
This was super cute and I won’t spoil this one too much b/c honestly you should just read it. You’ll like it no matter what type of genre you read for seventeen.
Highly rec if you love humor and seventeen (and of course our boo)
Tumblr media
this town by @kwallanghae
:((((((
*sighs sadly* I like the dabble into magical realism (even if I still don’t 100% understand it even after covering it in my english class once). I also really like the way we see Kwan deal with the passing of Y/n. It’s raw and sad.
It’s how I imagine some people process or go through grief after losing someone. I think the way you were able to encapsulate his experience (even though it’s fictional) very much felt real. The fact that it was a small town too and we see the divergences in their relationship or goals in life. It was touching and I thought you did a great job.
I’d rec this to someone who enjoys angst (that includes the topic of death, pls be aware that this fic does talk about death) with slice-of-life
Tumblr media
POV by @by-soleil
I don’t have too much to say for this other than I enjoyed this! but also y/n crying about how much it feels to be loved by someone b/c they dont know what it feels like until now, that shit got me on the floor crying
I’d rec this if you love fluff with bits of angst.

THANK YOU TO THESE WRITERS !!!

Pile 1 - The Seer
Tumblr media

A seer. They stand directly at the base of the Tree of Life. Have they been waiting for you? How long? It is as if you hardly blinked your eye…you were back there, and now they stand before you with expectant eyes. A golden bowl of radiant pristine light separates the two of you with a familiar vibration you're drawn to submerge yourself within. With all of its dazzling beauty, you're mesmerized, but as your familiarity grows and your mind clears with each second? Year? Millennia? As you stand before each other, you grow weary. You know what comes next. Some things still ache within you, and you would instead leave them behind. But you do not see the anchors of hurt that tether you to what lies on the opposite side of the threshold. You think of taking a step back, but the seer already knows what you're contemplating. They gently grab your hand, illuminating your being with loving reassurance.
Your life review must begin now. There is no rush, for all of creation is aware of every sacred moment of existence in the dream of your life. They have indeed seen it all with divine clarity. But have you?
"I am no judge, only a mediator," everything she tells you is a thought in your consciousness.
As you relinquish your fear, you let her draw you into the dazzling light that holds the signature of your life. You relive every moment with a cosmic perspective. Every joy is relived not only on your own but as the cumulative joy of friends, family, strangers, and fellow beings on earth. Every sorrow is like a yank in a chain, but the seer's loving hand supports you. You look upon the faces of the people who hurt you and those you hurt. You grow restless, for you know that all eyes were on you in each instance, but the seer is no judge, creation is no jury, and your creator would never look at you differently. Each moment you relive that tempts you to harshly judge yourself, the seer pauses and offers spiritual introspection. The goal is not to judge ourselves but find growth and love in every scene.
As your life passes, and you see yourself with a higher magnitude, you understand the precious perspective of Spirit. Your life was more valuable than you could ever believe, and although you may not have seen it that way- you see it now.
The seer draws you out of the images and replays of your life, and something has changed.
Two masculine entities are waiting for you. Whether they transitioned before you or have never traversed the same plane you came from, they are here to welcome and guide you into your new state of consciousness. One will take you through many doors and new lessons. The other will celebrate with you and reunite you with those you have forgotten and who you were before now.
Thank you for allowing me the honor to read for you, pile 1. ✨🌻
Pile 2- The Dreamer
Tumblr media
In the realm between wakefulness and dreams, we discover a reality woven from the fabric of imagination, reminding us that even the waking world is a fragile illusion.
To wake up, you have to fall asleep. Only a few know this truth in the slumber that is life as a human. In their short lifetimes, some wake up to earthly matters, such as who is responsible for mass suffering, why humanity behaves the way they do, and so on. But they are still asleep. Others wake up for just a moment- their heavy half-lidded eyes award them the necessary truth they can digest before they return to their slumber. Only a rare few wake to complete lucidity.
Across the threshold is a sea of memories. Countless records of lives once lived and dreamed. Some are fragmented, but you are determined to cocoon yourself within Spirit's embrace and slowly peel back the layers. You aren't pressed for time; time does not exist across the threshold. Before the door to your previous incarnation was opened, you asked your creator to make a promise.
Keep a safe place to rest so I may meet myself again. Your creator would never deny you what is necessary; it crafted a safe place to lay your soul within as you fall asleep into a much deeper dream. In this dream, you walk down an endless hallway of doors- each a passage to a realm within yourself. There are libraries of knowledge, and publishings of your own making, stories from beings that have known you, and poems from your most deeply connected companions that lie between the pages. This is your process. Is it new? Perhaps. Or you could have done this for eons, before the first breaths of living creatures. Either way, you are comfortable in your revelations, as there is no better way to integrate the moments, patterns, lessons, and incarnations into your very being. Each life must be observed and analyzed to the smallest minute detail. Once complete, you will rise from your nap, a transformed soul.
Side note: Your soul may have connections to ancient Lemuria.
Thank you for allowing me the honor to read for you, pile 2. ✨🌻
Pile 3- The Mirror
Tumblr media
In a crystalline and unfathomably clear mirror, you see an ancient but sturdy structure nestled within the conscious rock of a mountain behind you.
You see yourself so clearly that it is difficult to turn your focus away from the being before you- you find the need to verify whether you are staring at a doppelgänger before your very eyes. In the mirror, you see everything about yourself: who you are, who you were what you did before returning to this sacred point in the universe. It is all of these details that exude a living presence behind the glass.
Is this thing alive?
You've been looking at it so long that you swear it will raise its hand to you in familiarity before you get the chance to. How can you look in a mirror and see something so similar but foreign?
The tuned-out telepathic voice of a dear companion pulls you out of the hypnotic analysis, "-do next?"
You narrow your eyes and finally turn around in confusion. Your beloved companion feels no genuine annoyance, for they are ecstatic that you are both here simultaneously. There is so much for you to catch up on. You love each other and are happy to be with them, but the mirror beckons your mind back toward it. Your reflection waits with its spitting image of your likeness. Still, looking into their eyes, you see a maturity you did not expect. Their vibration is one of consequential loss but profound spiritual gain, and you wonder if any of it was ever real. You need some clarification. You look around to see yourself, your friend, and this strange mirror in the middle of a pasture.
You can hear a peaceful breeze rattle the leaves of trees and the faint trickles of a nearby stream. Where is this place? Upon immediately receiving your thoughts, your friend responds with their own. They remind you this is a place within a realm overseen by your deity. The ancient structure within the side of the mountain is their sacred dwelling. You will realize that you are very familiar with this realm and that it is a place you have visited countless times, but for now, everyone wants to know what you will do next. You have always been a being who is ready for what is next.
But what you see in the mirror is shocking you. What you just went through was a much more difficult but rewarding experience. As if the realm itself was eagerly listening in, everything became quiet. The stream took a hush. The wind became still. Even the other you in the mirror felt as if it was going to inch closer with an open ear.
I don't know.
Thank you for allowing me the honor to read for you, pile 3. ✨🌻
Pile 4- A Conversation With God
Tumblr media
Last time one of your fellow souls crashed into the spirit realm, I said, "That was hard to watch." They didn't recognize me at first, but funnily they were like, "Living it was harder." Then they really SAW SAW me and were surprised I have a sense of humor. Which is the logic I find funnier. Why would they assume I don't have a funny bone if I gave them theirs???
But I'm sorry you didn't find the same joke funny. In my defense, last time, you were a lot more chill. I know it was abrupt for your standards and that you enjoyed it, but this was the deal. I'd like to remind you in detail.
You go to earth and do something for me. In exchange, you get an entire lifetime of achievement and happiness. The endpoint is up to you. You can blame me, but you set the appointment with my angel of death and told them exactly where to be when we planned this whoooole thing. AND-by the way- I saw everything; you can't just keep trying to ignore our phone calls. Then before letting me know, you had already hopped in your new body and forgot. So this isn't really my fault! I only knew that I would patiently wait to see you return.
Please don't be mad!
What do you mean I left you alone? You have free will, remember? If you call me, I'll pick up the phone, but if you don't want me, I let you do what you want.
You didn't know where you were? Did you get lost? Wait, your guide wasn't there at the arrival gate? Who was your guide again? Ohh, that's right- they are a weird little dude, huh? Are you SURE you were at the right place? That doesn't sound like the right place…
Oh no, no, no- please don't cry, little one! It's all going to be okay! I'm not angry at you? Why would I be angry with you?
Please, please, please don't worry! You guys get pissed with me often when you're down there, so I never take it pers- ooooh, you're scared? Please don't be frightened! Look, I know all of that was kind of weird and crazy, and you felt disoriented -probably nauseous- but you guys really aren't supposed to go through it alone, but you were so annoyed about leaving - a really whole and complete life MIND YOU- behind that your thoughts must have blipped you to somewhere not so fun but let's just let it go and -here have a tissue- get to the good stuff. Whew! Sorry to telepathically word vomit on you.
I am happy to see you! Aren't you glad to see me? Yeeeeeaaaahh, come on, you know you are!
Oh, look who's behind me!
Everyone say hi!
Note: I want to make it very clear that the energy I picked up for this collective is NOT the energy of an untimely demise. NO. The energy of your collective is one of a person who at the time of their transition, was extremely satisfied with where their life had taken them in their old age and was too stubborn to go when their time was up. So, their passing felt like an abrupt out of nowhere event that screws up their entire "spiritual onboarding process" so they end up wandering mad for a little bit before they call out to God.
Thank you for allowing me the honor to read for you, pile 4. ✨🌻

Jealousy, Jealousy
Tumblr media
Pairing: Siyeon x Fem!Reader
AU: Non-Idol
Warnings / Misc. -- Smut, Jealous Siyeon ;)
Word Count: 3,348
Summary: With your three year anniversary imminent and the need for a get-away pressing, Siyeon organizes a romantic weekend trip for the two of you to enjoy together. Everything goes according to plan in the beginning, but when a night of clubbing breathes new life into her passion for you, things get a bit derailed.
Disclaimer: This writing is a work of fiction, and no disrespect is meant for those mentioned herein.
A/N: Hello again, my lovely readers! Just stopping by to drop off this Singnie fic :) Jiu's story is next, so look forward to it! Hope you like this in the meantime 💖

Moonlight Bar & Lounge, 11:42 PM
As the two of you peered up at the establishment’s buzzing, neon lights, Siyeon had to make a conscious effort to prevent her hand from dropping too low on your ass.
She’d made a promise to you – back at the hotel and in her post-orgasm haze – that she would be on her best behavior while you were out celebrating as a way of repaying you.
You, in return, vowed to let her do anything she wanted to you once you were back in private, so long as she kept things tame and didn’t go back on her word in the meantime.
And, for what it was worth, she was really giving it her all.
But you looked absolutely divine in your formal outfit – radiant with a sultry undertone, capable of leaving her transfixed. It drove her crazy to know that hidden away beneath it, tucked out of view from prying eyes, your skin was painted with all of her marks. Splashes of color, hues of red and purple growing darker with time – her own personal claims on you. With how hard it had been for her to keep her mouth off of you earlier, she was surprised you had any skin left unmarked at all.
“Two more hours, Singnie. Think you can handle it?” You asked, glancing at her as you both approached the door.
She opened it, sending you a confident look all the while. “Of course I can.”
You hummed, unconvinced. “We’ll see about that.”
When you passed her, a smirk pulled at the corner of your lips. Her gaze had fallen to your ass, again, watching its every move in silent admiration as she trailed behind you like a puppy.
The reviews you’d read, though stellar, had failed to prepare you for just how nice the place was. Its intimate ambience beckoned you in at once, extending an easy-going hand, inviting you to look around and see for yourself everything that it had to offer.
Things were darkened inside, creating an aura of sensuality and mystery despite the openness of the layout. Hues of black and blue accented the furniture and decorations, in line with the established theme of intrigue. Large skylights were centered in the ceiling, allowing plenty of moonlight in to do as it so pleased.
A dance floor called from the far side of the room, comfortably crowded and taking up about half of the venue. Couches and chairs were situated around tables on the other side, strategically dotting the available area so as to award parties their privacy.
The bar was large, stretching out far and wide as it stood ready to greet you upon your arrival. A busy bartender met Siyeon’s eye when he glanced up, vigorously shaking a drink.
“Welcome, ladies!” He smiled warmly. “It’s great to have you tonight.”
You thanked him with a smile as well, and Siyeon extended the same courtesy. Her arm fell to your waist again mindlessly – completely out of habit as she turned to survey everything.
“How about we get a table first?” She suggested, subtly motioning towards them with her head. “Then we can dance for a bit, if you’d like.”
“Sure, babe. That sounds perfect.”
-
One Hour Later
Put simply, Siyeon seemed to be out to get you.
Though she was your girlfriend, the love of your life, your protector – something truly sadistic shined in her dark eyes as she peered at you from the other side of the table, smirking around the rim of her glass.
She watched you squirm in your seat a little, feigning oblivion as her foot traveled up your calf, teasing.
Somewhere between her first and second rounds of wine she had undone the top few buttons of her blouse, and the seductive way she pressed closer to the table, arms crossed just below her chest, put her cleavage on full display. The edge of her bra was visible, too, but that was a detail likely only perceptible to you, considering your proximity and inability to focus on anything else.
Every bit of her prior innocence was gone without a trace, eclipsed by the desire she felt, which was becoming harder and harder to maintain a grip on.
The alcohol in your system was weakening your inhibitions, too; coaxing them to vanish as her charm worked its magic, promising release for you the second you asked for it. It showed in her eyes – which shamelessly drank in the sight of you – and the subtle bite of her lip. She appeared collected, but you knew that in reality she was far from it.
You downed your last bit of wine in an effort to distract yourself.
As you lowered your glass, the ring on your finger shimmered, catching the attention of one of the club’s cycling lights. Siyeon looked at it proudly; it was the promise ring that she had given you this morning.
Wordlessly she reached forward, palm upturned.
The musing, pleased smile on her lips would be your demise. You were sure of it.
But even still, you extended your hand and placed it in hers, following her unspoken request. She held it close, rubbing her thumb across the back of it in soothing, easy strokes.
Nothing made her happier than knowing you were hers.
“Ready to dance?” She asked, trying not to sound too eager. The thought of having your body against hers was ruining her in all the best kinds of ways.
She was fiending for it.
You took a deep breath, steadying yourself for what was to come. She knew that asking was unnecessary, but she took pleasure in seeing you squirm.
“Sure.” You swallowed.
Happily, she finished off her wine.
Leaving behind your empty glasses and appetizer plates, she stood up and led you to the dance floor.
-
30 Minutes Until Promise Is Completed
The DJ was a true professional at his craft, and you decided at once that he deserved the biggest raise imaginable.
…do DJs get raises?
Regardless, he was owed one.
His choices of song, paired with the seamless transitions and mixes that he conducted, set the mood of the lounge and kept everyone's energy high. A strong bassline carried throughout the place, thrumming consistently and so powerfully you felt it in your very being.
Like an undercurrent, it flowed around you. Pushing and pulling, leading you out just to lure you back in again.
Siyeon moved in time with you, hanging onto the rhythm as you let loose. She kissed you occasionally, swept up in the heat of the moment and unable to resist your beauty. Her hands wandered, impossible to control as they made it their mission to tempt you.
The couples around you all shared that sentiment as well – turning the air thick with sexual tension.
Some grinded. Others groped. It was a plethora of positions and strides, all writhing and searching for relief – a statement piece on the human condition, plucked straight from a movie scene. From your place within it, amongst the welcome chaos, you could only imagine what a sight it was to behold from an outside perspective.
A sudden buzzing tethered you back down to Earth, garnering your attention. It came from Siyeon’s front pocket, which was conveniently nestled right between your thighs.
The contact made you tense at first, not expecting it, but it felt good. More than good, even. And far better than you cared to admit, considering you wanted to hold onto some of your pride.
She felt it, too, but she didn’t pull away at first. Enjoying the show, she pressed it against you a little harder, coaxing your hips to gyrate, both to the rhythm of the song and in search of the vibrations.
But once the phone rang a fourth time, you pushed her away with a dismissing laugh, telling her to go answer it.
Your cheeks were flushed, and your heart was racing wildly within your chest. You covered your forehead with your palm, taking a deep breath as the people around you filled in the open space that her exit provided.
The loss of contact with her allowed you to sober up the tiniest bit and get your head on straight. She was just like a drug.
Get a grip, you scolded yourself, shaking your head. This was ridiculous. Was going more than a few hours without fucking her really this impossible? You wanted it more than anything, but you didn’t want to give her the satisfaction of calling off your deal. It was made to prove a point, and you intended to keep it instated for that very reason.
You stole a glance at your watch.
Only fifteen minutes left. That was doable, no?
Siyeon rolled her eyes as she slid up on the green button at the bottom of her screen. She had to fight the urge to just let it go unanswered.
Had it been anyone other than her boss, she likely would’ve.
“Hello?”
“Ah, Siyeon,” he greeted from the other end, a smile evident in his gravelly voice. “I’m glad I could reach you.”
She pressed her back to an open portion of the far wall, away from the more rowdy parts of the crowd.
“Of course, sir,” she sighed, withholding the attitude that she wished to lace into it.
She looked up at you, watching you sway gently in time with the music. The light of the room painted you beautifully – every shimmer and shadow fighting for its chance to cast across your skin. She couldn't help but admire you from afar.
"...yes, sir. I turned that report in to your assistant two days ago." She answered distantly, clearly not entirely focused on their conversation.
He launched into a response, but Siyeon suddenly tensed and stood up straighter – intrigued for a completely different reason.
A woman was making her way over to you.
Like a shark circling its prey.
The blonde danced along to the beat with a drink in her hand, sipping on it as she closed the remaining distance between you. Siyeon could only watch as she leaned down, smiling prettily as she introduced herself.
You laughed at something she said and nodded lightheartedly, amused.
“Siyeon? Are you there?”
Her lips pressed tightly into a line. “Yes, sir. Continue.”
He did, but again she couldn’t pay much attention. She was too focused on the two of you standing far too close for her liking, and the nonchalant way that the woman invited you to join her for a dance.
To Siyeon’s annoyance, you agreed and stepped forward.
She drew you in and briefly settled a hand on your hip as the two of you got accustomed to the new song that the DJ started playing. You followed her lead, allowing her to sway with you.
She was attractive, and the sight of you together stoked the fire of jealousy within Siyeon.
For what it was worth, though, you didn’t attach any deeper meaning to the exchange. You were simply dancing, after all, and you'd made it a point to flash your ring a few times to avoid any misunderstandings.
But Siyeon was in a different state entirely.
Her blood boiled, and her grip on her phone tightened audibly. The poor thing groaned and squeaked from the pressure, pleading for her to ease up.
The woman locked eyes with her over your shoulder, practically taunting her as she dipped you down. The angle provided Siyeon an achingly beautiful view of your body, tempting her to admire the lines and curves that you created; but she was sobered up by the fact that it wasn’t exclusive to her.
In that moment, anyone – including that woman – could see you looking so gorgeously spread out.
That was her final straw.
She abruptly excused herself from the call, assuring her boss that she’d dial him up again at the first chance she got, before hanging up without another thought.
Bitterness radiated from her with every step that she marched closer to you, practically fuming. She moved people aside along the way, providing an opening for herself to return to you.
You were uprighted by the woman at once and subsequently seized by Siyeon, who loomed angrily behind you. You were oblivious to the situation until you felt her presence as she entered your personal space.
She emitted tension, and the sensation made you tremble; the territorial look she gave deterred the blonde, who raised her hands in a show of innocence before smiling knowingly and ambling to another part of the dance floor.
Hesitantly, you went to turn around and face Siyeon. But her sudden grip on your hips prevented that, keeping you as you were.
Something firm pressed against your ass as she pulled you in, rutting with a restrained sort of gentleness that seemed difficult to maintain. It caught you off guard at first, but the swell of it, straining against the fabric of her pants, was something you'd recognize anywhere.
It was your favorite toy. She had secretly put it on before you left the hotel earlier. Cheeky.
How had you not noticed it before?
She ground against you again, aiming to give you a better feel for it, but made sure to remain somewhat inconspicuous to the people around you. Her hands caressed your sides, tentatively working their way downwards as she attempted to gauge your reaction.
Her lips brushed the shell of your flushed ear, upturning the slightest bit in triumph when she felt your breath hitch. Your head turned to the side and your chin tilted ever-so-slightly, granting her full access.
“Do you feel that?" She asked lowly, clenching her jaw. “What you do to me?”
She couldn’t have cared less about the promise in that moment even if she had wanted to. With you looking as good as you did and flaunting yourself like that… behaving really was no longer an option.
You nodded fervently, lacking the gift of speech.
“You’re going to take care of that for me. Right now,” she emphasized, taking a hold of your wrist.
Chest heaving, you turned around to face her. She shoved your hand between her legs, making you cup the toy as she pressed a harsh kiss to your lips. You melted into it, weak within her strong embrace. Obediently, you groped her again, making the other side of it rub up against her clit. You swallowed up the encouraging moan that she let out at the action.
She begrudgingly pulled away after a moment, but only enough to take your hand again and impatiently drag you towards the front door. Her movements weren’t the most graceful – seeing as that she bumped the two of you into other guests and nearly fumbled over her own feet along the way – but they were endearing. She wanted you so badly that appearing composed no longer mattered to her.
And that feeling was beyond mutual.
- The Parking Lot -
Although they gave it their all to be seen, the city’s bright lights were muted by the thick fog that covered the windows of Siyeon’s car; they were mere blurs in the distance, becoming increasingly dulled with time.
The steam served as an immediate tell of what was happening inside, just in case any particularly dimwitted onlookers failed to put two and two together after observing the rocking of the car.
Part of you was afraid the entire thing would fall apart at any moment, based on how roughly Siyeon was taking you.
Her body clung desperately to yours, only parting long enough for her to draw the toy out of you and drill it back in as she took you from behind. Her skin met yours repeatedly, filling the cabin of the car with filthy noises that made you wetter than you thought possible.
“Fuck, baby,” she cursed, pressing your head further down into the seat as the snap of her hips grew messier and more erratic. Her fingers tightened in your hair, making your eyes water the slightest bit.
You smiled triumphantly, feeling the cool leather soothe your heated cheek.
The decorative beads hanging from the rear view mirror clacked together, consistently colliding with the back of it.
Rhythmically, the press of your hips fell in time with her thrusts; you met in the middle, getting the most out of each and every move. Your muscles ached something wild, but you were beyond caring at that point; all that mattered was Siyeon, and ensuring that she got what she wanted.
“Does it feel good?” You panted.
“So good, jagi,” she groaned, voice raspy, as she lolled her head to the side.
Her hazy eyes landed on the hickies that she had left at the small of your back earlier, which she brought her free hand up to caress. Beneath her fingertips, your muscles flexed from the impact that she inflicted; they strained with the desperate, searching rutt of your hips as well, never stopping for a second.
You were such a whore for her; she loved it.
"I wish you could see yourself like this," she mused through heavy breaths, palming your skin. "Taking me so well. God, you're so perfect."
Her harsh thrusts mellowed into long, sensual ones as she focused on grinding against you. The ridges of the toy slid across your velvety walls as she humped, stimulating you further. She watched the length of it disappear inside of you repeatedly, only to reappear glistening more and more each time.
You reached a shaky hand out to brace yourself, aware that she was getting close by the tremble of her legs.
All of the friction her clit was receiving was pushing her closer and closer to the edge. The other end of the toy moved inside of her as well, heightening the effect of even your most subtle motions.
When your head fell forward and came to rest against your extended arm, she leaned down, seizing the opportunity to kiss your exposed neck. The way her body aligned with yours, completely bare and heated, made you moan.
She left new marks everywhere she liked, taking her time.
A soft, pleased grunt resounded in her throat when you lifted your hips and grinded back into her, languidly working yourself along the toy. She stilled her movements and let you continue for a bit, reveling in the intimate feeling.
"Head up, angel." She instructed, grazing her teeth across your pulsepoint.
You obeyed and raised it, fighting exhaustion.
Her lips found yours, and you immediately surrendered control of the kiss over to her. Despite knowing you'd grant it without hesitation, she still asked for permission by licking your bottom lip.
You opened up, sighing as her tongue met yours.
Instinctively, your walls fluttered at the feeling; she deepened the kiss, doing as she wanted.
She snaked a hand down your body and pressed her fingertips to your clit, toying with it. She spread your slick around, proud of the mess of it that coated your thighs and pussy. It dripped down your legs, only turning her on more.
Needing air, you broke the kiss. She clearly felt like showing a little mercy, as she allowed you the chance to catch your breath and kissed your shoulder in the meantime.
When the toy hit your g-spot again following a particularly sensual roll of her hips, you whined pathetically at the feeling.
“Who do you belong to?”
“You, Siyeon,” you exhaled shakily.
“And who's the only one that gets to fuck you like this?” She pressed, voice commanding.
You moaned, forgoing pride. “You.”
“That’s right, Y/N/N,” she grinned evilly, pushing herself back up. Her hands went to the small of your back again, applying a tantalizing pressure as you obediently arched for her, already knowing what she wanted.
She wasn’t even close to being done with you yet.
“Now, start counting. If you make it to twenty, I might just let you cum.”
The sound of her hand slapping your ass filled the car at once, intoxicating you in an entirely new way.
“...one.”

Title: She Who Became the Sun Author: Shelley Parker-Chan Publication Date: July 2021 Publisher: Tor Books Genre: fiction, fantasy, historical fiction, queer lit
I think to sell this book as a “Mulan meets The Song of Achilles” is not only misleading, but also isn’t giving enough credit to Parker-Chan’s fascinating and rather original reimagining of Zhu Yuanzhang and the start of the Ming Dynasty. I was so taken to the political intrigue and motivations, which was brought together incredibly well by focusing on each character’s desires and their understanding of fate. The moral compass wavers quite a bit as the main characters narrate and get further consumed by their desires, putting the reader in an interesting position to work out how much these characters can be trusted in the end.
Leading me to what made this book so damn well: Zhu and Ouyang were standout characters. Zhu, being the protagonist, was one of the most well-constructed characters I’ve come across in a while. For one, to portray the first ruler of the Ming Dynasty as a genderqueer character was such a refreshing and original approach. Furthermore, Zhu’s gender identity was beautifully portrayed in a way that challenged the rigidity of the gender binary (and I would go so far as to argue the concept of the nonbinary identity). I loved how driven Zhu was by her burning desire for greatness—for better or for worse—that propelled her to where she ended up by the end of the book. As for Ouyang, I thought he was an equally memorable character. He’s an incredibly complex man who is eaten up by self-loathing and has a burning desire for vengeance, much of which is tied to him being a eunuch. Parker-Chan also does a deep dive into gender identity with Ouyang, scrutinizing the construction of masculinity in particular. At the end of the day, you could kind of call them both antiheroes in their own ways, and damn, they were well-written ones that really brought this book together.
One criticism I have of this book is that the fantasy element didn’t quite work for me. Unless I missed something, I felt that things were often left unexplained in a way that made the fantasy part of this book pointless. I’m hoping this is addressed in the second installment of this duology, but I guess we’ll find out in due time. I also found the pacing a little awkward at times, especially the middle part of the book, but not enough to frustrate me.
All-in-all, this was a fun read and well worth picking up if you want a unique reimagining of a historical moment and figure in China.

Stephen Strange x Pregnant!Reader
This is my first headcanon so please, be gentle with me!
As soon as you tell him the news, he will be over the moon because deep down, he wanted to start a family after meeting you (you’ve never talked about it in detail and this was most definitely not planned, but after he processed your words, he would know that kids were the next milestone in his life)
If you’re an Avenger, he immediately will hand in your leave of absence to Tony and Fury, and he would bench himself the same minute.
The team would scream and cry because a little Avenger was on their way! This baby already lucked out in the auntie and uncle department without even knowing it.
Stephen would leave for the next bookstore to buy every single book about pregnancy and birth, how to be a dad handbooks, maternity guides, and books about what to expect in the first couple of years of Baby Strange’s life. This man would come back to the Sanctum packed.
He would research the shit out of the topic. Laptops always opened, multiple peer-reviewed sources on display, and the mail would be full of medical journal issues covering pregnancy (and complications).
He would call the best ob-gyn in the city even though the compound probably has the best doctors in the world, but hey, Stephen would be nothing but prepared. So, you’d be facing an armada of medical specialists.
So. Many. Scheduled. Ultrasound appointments. This man has to monitor everything about the little plum (the nickname would stick after Bucky had mentioned the baby’s size on the first ultrasound picture and that it reminded him of a plum).
He would do anything for you. He already did before Baby Strange made their presence known in the form of morning sickness and the lack of appetite, but now, it’s on a whole different level. You’d finally find something you wanna eat, but it’s on the other side of town? Don’t worry, Stephen would open the next portal and get it for you. Morning sickness? Stephen would get up every morning to hold your hair, rub your back, and monitor how long they would take (and keep track of it). When your back starts to hurt because the baby is growing and everything gets heavier in the belly region? Brace yourself for intense back massage sessions. Troubles finding the perfect position to sleep with a growing bump? Stephen would sacrifice himself to be your side sleeper pillow (he would love every single second of it)
He would never keep his eyes off of you because, in his eyes, you’re the most radiant and beautiful woman in the entire multiverse (the team would tease him about it). Or his hands. They would constantly be on you. Seeing you pregnant with his child did something to this poor man.
Would research if sex was okay and safe. And only if every single source said it is, he would consider it – but don’t you dare think you’d be anything but a satisfied woman. He would take this task very seriously 👀
When laying in bed, cuddling on the couch, or cooking in the kitchen, his hands would always be on the ever-growing baby bump. It’s his favorite spot since the bump made its appearance, more so as soon as the baby starts kicking and moving. And after it had gained circumference, he would hold it for you to take some of that weight off your back (he read that during his research and was a big fan of it, especially after realizing that he couldn’t take any of that pain from you).
One of the many books told him that the baby would understand him after developing their hearing. As soon as the ob-gyn would tell you at one of your many ultrasound appointments that the baby could understand you, Stephen would grab you, put you on your bed in the Sanctum, and would talk for hours on end with his lips at the bump (he would pull your shirt up because “The baby needs to hear my voice clearly, darling!” and that’s not possible with a thin layer of fabric between him and them – you’re sure that he only wanted to be able to put his lips on your skin)
Stephen desperately wants to know the gender – can’t change my mind. This man is a control freak and wants to plan everything. So, you’re going with the flow and learn that it’ll be a girl (because I’m always imagining Stephen as a girl-dad). He would be in tears (but would never admit it in front of the team or Wong because he is the Sorcerer Supreme and has to be a tough cookie), but back at the Sanctum, he would cry and promise your bump under tears that he would do anything to protect his princess.
He would soothe you and try to take your anxiety when it creeps in. The world is a scary place for a tiny baby, and the multiverse counted more threats than humanly possible, but you two would do anything to protect your baby girl.
He would build every single piece of furniture in the baby’s room with his own hands – even if it took him hours for a single piece to be put together. This man was a world-class neurosurgeon, graduated with honors, and saved the world on multiple occasions, but damn, assembly instructions would be his downfall. But he would never ask for help, because he is Doctor Stephen Strange.
Would go to every single birth prep and baby course. The other moms would gush over him and his dedication to making everything right and to supporting you the best he could. The other dads, on the other hand, would definitely hate him for that. And you? You’d be a very proud girlfriend/fiancé/wife.
The name discussion would be something else. You’d both have favorites but could never settle for one and would always argue about which name sounded better in the grand scheme of things.
(The name problem would solve itself after Baby Strange is born.)
Godfather and godmother would definitely be Wong and Nat.
Overall, Stephen would worship the ground you’re walking on, you, and his daughter, of course, because you two would be the most important things in his life and his biggest priority and accomplishment.
;
It's short and shitty but it's my first one so it's okay. Hope you still had fun reading it :3
Thank you so much for reading! As always: Comments, reblogs, and likes are much appreciated!

What if the potters didn’t die and after Harry had a daughter. (For the sake of having a name to refer to her as, let’s call her Phoebe)
Looks wise she would be the reverse of Harry with lilys ginger hair and James’ deep brown eyes. And if the Potters had lived then both Harry and Phoebe would have been raised by them (with the help of Remus, Sirius and Regulus). Harry takes after James and Phoebe takes after Lily so sometimes Sirius and Remus would pretend that they had mistaken the child for the parent and start saying things like “Oh Lily I must say your skin is looking so radiant and youthful today” and the children would collapse into fits of giggles
Phoebe would especially look up to her Uncle Remus and would insist on having him read to her no matter how boring his current book was. On countless occasions, they had both fallen asleep on the sofa mid book, with Phoebe snuggled up in one of Remus’s oversized knit jumpers.
Phoebe was also not a quidditch player. She was very good at flying but she had inherited her mothers fiery temper and her Uncle Sirius’ sass which meant team sports were just not a good idea.
When she joins hogwarts, she’s the year below Harry and therefore the same year as Ginny Weasley. So for the first term of school, 75% of the other students think she is a weasley and are constantly getting the two mixed up.
Despite the fact that they’re in different houses this causes the girls to become very close friends and they start taking advantage of this confusion to get away with things because “well Fred and George are twins, so the gene must run in the family”
Phoebe was sorted into Slytherin. The hat had been deciding between Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff but Phoebe had demanded she be placed in Slytherin. Before she had left for hogwarts, Sirius had told Phoebe to “give Snivellus hell from me” and in her brain, the best way of achieving this was from within his own house. She’s heard about their school days and strongly disliked this apparently incredibly greasy man. It was only after she got her parents amused owl in response to the news of her sorting that she found out that things had been civil between all of the adults for years and that Sirius’s comment was at the fact that he knew Phoebe would be brilliant in potions which, as a Potter, would still irk Snape. It was still, however, one of the most slytherin ways of being assigned slytherin: requesting it to aid your plan for revenge.
As it happened, Phoebe was very good at potions thanks to aiding her mother. She would frequently interrupt Snape’s lessons to question his methods (which sometimes would result in lost points for her cheek and sometime gain her points for her intelligence) which made the man want to dislike her but her brilliance at his subject and generally sunny personality made that impossible.
She also had an aptitude for herbology and in her newts years would often grow her own rare potions ingredients to test possible new concoctions.
Unlike her brother she refused to sign up for divination and instead picked ancient runes. Partially because she’d had a mild crush on Hermione when she had to make her choice and Hermione’s scathing review of divination had made Phoebe decide she would rather run around the castle naked than pick that class. She’d often go to Hermione for advice on her Runes and in turn Hermione would ask for potions guidance as, whilst Hermione was great at learning the contents of books she’d never fully understood the chaotic art of potion making.
These study times were great opportunity to gossip about the happenings in their respective house common rooms, specifically how much Harry and Draco would talk about the other.
Her and Malfoy aren’t friends but have a truce. Mainly because Phoebe will call Malfoy out on his shit and Malfoy is actually incredibly smart and very loyal to his house. She did dye his hair bright pink with a potion she snuck into his dinner because he made some comments about Remus when he was teaching at the school. Professor Snape had even pulled her aside after class just after this incident and all he had said was: “root of asphodel is often used in cosmetics potions to add more of a shimmer” (i.e. he basically told her how to make Malfoy’s hair glitter) and that he wouldn’t be able to mark her extra credit essay till the following evening as he had to do an inventory check of his ingredients cupboard as he was suddenly low on some ingredients.
I might continue this if I come up with anymore ideas, possibly including Regulus as an Uncle of sorts as well as Marlene, Mary and Dorcas. It is quite fun to think about what could have been.
