If you are watching a TV show, it can be live action or animated.
But not when you're reading a book. Much to think about.

unsung benefit i think a lot of ppl are sleeping on with using the public library is that i think its a great replacement for the dopamine hit some ppl get from online shopping. it kind of fills that niche of reserving something that you then get to anticipate the arrival of and enjoy when it arrives, but without like, the waste and the money.

You know, it's kinda funny how much of high fantasy centers around kings and nobility and courtly intrigue considering that the archetypal high fantasy, Lord of the Rings, had the rather explicit moral of "saving the world is up to this backwater hick and his gardener because no politician, least of all inherited nobility, would have the ability to see past their own ambition and throw away a weapon". Oh sure, Aragorn is a great king and all, but there's a reason he's over there running a distraction ring while the hobbits do the real work. Sauron loses because he gets distracted by kings and armies and great battles (i.e. typical high fantasy stuff) letting Frodo and Sam sneak through his back door and blow it all to hell.
Just saying, maybe old Jirt knew what he was saying when he said that the small folk doing their best and holding to each other was more powerful than a dozen alliances and superweapons and we should respect him for it.

Hi! Have you read the poem "The Dormouse and the Doctor" by A. A. Milne? I remember being fascinated with it as a kid and I recently re-read it to my own child and realized it's actually a really hard-hitting fable about medical trauma & doctors ignoring your needs. And it's also why I love geraniums (red) and delphiniums (blue).
Yes! I had a book of A. A. Milne's poetry growing up. I remember rereading it a few years ago, not expecting it to hit quite so hard. It's something that pops into my head whenever a medical provider is being less than helpful.

Please go watch Sex Explained on Netflix. Not only is it a great resource for the basic sex education that is sorely lacking in the U.S., but some of ya’ll need to take a deep breath and remember the difference between fantasy vs reality. This purity culture thing that we’re going through right now is directly harmful to responsible, healthy sexual expression. BTW this woman, Lisa Diamond, is a noted psychologist and has been pushing for greater understanding of womens sexuality as a whole.

@pyrohorse submitted: Found this funky fella resting on a window at work. Look at those fuzzy legs! I love moths.
I, too, love moths. And this fella is very cute! Excellent antennae.

There's the thing in kids' shows/books/movies where the kids always know what's going on and what to do where the adults are idiots, and in most shows aimed at adults the only roles for kids are precocious-yet-loving protag's kid, smart-mouthed pain-in-the-ass, or victim of the crime-of-the-week, so I think it would be funny to have a story from the POV a hard-bitten middle-aged cop or detective who mostly does hard-bitten-middle-aged-protagonist things like drink a lot and complain about his exes, but he always runs into this team of five 13-year-old amateur detectives on his job, and they seem to be just as good at it as he is and it drives him a little crazier each time.
