meditation is for everyone. despite the common misconceptions, it’s not an inaccessible pursuit reserved for the “spiritually enlightened.” in fact, meditation doesn’t even have to be spiritual experience if you’re not into that kind of thing. it’s not about silencing your mind (never gunna happen), it’s not even about sitting still necessarily (you’re allowed to adjust) and it’s also not about levitating in your tie-dye harem pants (though that would be cool). meditation is a simple practice that’s ironically often overcomplicated by the same cognitive processes it seeks to tame. it’s just about learning to be with yourself, as you are, in the present moment, learning to recognize and listen to the deeper parts of yourself, deeper than your thinking mind. believe it or not, you’re actually more than your thoughts.
