Heart to Heart
Joel Miller x f!reader
Tumblr media
Summary: You’ve been traveling with Henry and Sam for over a year now. Once you meet Joel and Ellie your entire world changes.
Warnings: Age gap (joel is 56 reader is 26) Spoilers for TLOU episode 5!! Angst bro.
a/n: this episode tore me apart. Italics is ASL. Bold and italics is not.
word count: 998
4 months. It had been 4 months since you laughed. Not the kind of laugh just to convince Sam that everything was gonna be okay. But an actual laugh. The kind you gasp for air, your eyes shut and your stomach and face hurt after. At some point you wish to feel that again. The unexplainable happiness that stays with you forever.
You met Joel and Ellie only a day ago. Ellie was sweet, she was innocent. Ellie was the perfect friend for Sam, she made him laugh in a way you couldn’t. It made you happy, so so happy. Joel was different. He has a deep rugged voice with a Texan accent, you remember after hearing it looking over at Henry and saying “He’s strong. He can protect us. Plus, he’s pretty hot,” earning a laugh from Henry.
_
You’ve finally gotten away from Kathleen; well less gotten away and more she got infected. You’ve been in an abandoned Motel for only an hour when Joel sat next to you.
“So…he’s your what? Your boyfriend?” Joel asked, his voice not sounding confident at all.
“Who? Henry? No. Wait, Sam or Henry?” You ask quickly with a slight smile.
You see Joel roll his eyes and look the other way. You also hear a laugh, his laugh.
“I got you motherfucker! I made you laugh!” You hit his arm lightly laughing with him.
“Whatever,” he tells you.
“I don’t mean to get all sappy but it’s been a while since I laughed. Like actually laughed,” You admit to Joel.
“Yeah, Yeah me too.”
“There’s a uhm, amusement park not too far from here. It’s kind of a reminder to me that it’s not all that bad here,” you mention to him, smiling to yourself.
“You’re old enough to remember amusement parks?” He asks skeptically.
“Kind of, I was 6 when the outbreak happened. Mainly remember stuff like that from movies or whatever.” You look down at your feet while saying this.
Joel stays silent but his eyes keep on you.
“Hey Joel. Look I don't care if you like us or not but please promise me you’ll keep us safe? I can’t lose anyone else.”
He leans closer to you, taking your head in his hand and placing it on his shoulder.
“You don’t have to worry anymore, okay? I’m gonna protect you.”
You both pause for a minute before Joel speaks up again.
“Me and Ellie, we’re going down to Wyoming to find my brother. If you wanted to go with us, you’re uhm, more than welcome to,” he says hesitantly.
“I would like that. I’d really like that. I’ll ask them about it tomorrow,” you respond smiling wildly
_
“Y’know, Sam really likes you. It’s been a while since I've seen him this happy,” You tell Ellie while you get them situated for bed.
“Yeah, and Joel likes you,” She says back.
“Oh, I don’t know about that.”
“It’s true! You really don’t see the way he looks at you?” She says back, causing you to smile.
_
You spent the whole night snuggled up next to Joel, feeling his warm breath on your neck. He kept a steady grip on your waist almost as if he was scared you’d run while he was asleep.
You woke up to a scream. Ellie’s scream. Sun is peeking out of the window. The door beside you slams open with Sam lunging at Ellie. Ellie is trying to kick Sam off of her but it’s useless. Joel reaches for the gun but Henry is quicker. Henry points it at Joel as Ellie screams.
“Joel! Help!”
As Joel tries to reach out to Ellie Henry shoots the gun next to his foot.
You’re still in shock trying to not shake. You slowly back up onto the wall as Henry holds the gun to Joel. In an Instant Henry Moves the gun to Ellie and Sam.
BANG
The gun goes off and a splatter of blood decorates the dirty wall. Sams blood. Everyone is silent until Henry moves the gun back to Joel.
“Henry, give me the gun,” Joel commands slowly.
“What did I do?” Henry speaks up softly.
“What did I do? What did I do?,” he repeats over and over again.
He faces Sams cold, still body. The only thing moving being the pool of blood.
Your fully sat against the wall, your hand cupping your mouth holding back sobs.
You’re silent until Henry points the gun to his temple and it goes off.
BANG
For the second time in this room. For the second time in the last minute. For the second time the same gun goes off. Killing the last people you had.
A loud croaky scream, almost shriek, rips out of your mouth. You fall forward to your knees, tears now streaming down your face as you sob
NO, NO, NO. PLEASE
This can’t be happening. One minute ago both of them were alive. One minute ago you dreamt of traveling with the four of them. All of it. Gone.
_
Joel shovels dirt over the two bodies as you sit next to the “graves.” Tears still run down your face as Ellie places Sams writing board on the ground.
I’M SORRY
The words etched into the plastic lay there.
“C’mon,” Joel says as he reaches a hand out to you. It takes all the strength you have at the moment to get you away from the dirt, from the bodies. Joel's hand stays on your back guiding you to catch up with Ellie. You don’t look back. You’re afraid that if you look back you won’t want to look forward ever again.
It had been four months since laughing made your chest hurt. Four months since laughing made your face hurt. It wasn’t laughing that caused you this unexplainable feeling, it was the very much explainable feeling of guilt and death. And you wish you never have to feel like this ever again.

Summary: When they hear Sam's blood-curdling scream over the phone, Rowena is far more affected than she thought possible. She has to make up her mind whether or not to turn her back on the Winchesters in their dire need—and how far exactly she'll go to save them. (Or my version of what happened in episode 12x11 between Sam's scream and the moment we see Dean wake up in the Impala, plus two additional new scenes at other blank spaces where the episode faded to black. And all of that from Rowena's point of view!)

"Age nunc intellectum," Catriona's lilting, obnoxious voice said over the speaker, casting a spell unknown to Rowena despite her vast knowledge of the arcane. Perhaps it stemmed directly from the Grimoire. "Age nunc intellectum atque voluntatem omnem meam."
The spell created a terrible, high-pitched noise, loud enough that Rowena had to lower the phone's volume lest they'd risk damage to their eardrums even from afar.
Sam screamed.
Screamed like she'd never heard him before.
His agony seemed to resonate somewhere deep within her muscles, shaking that barely contained landslide out of its constraints once more. She could swear she felt something shatter inside herself.
Then his scream broke off abruptly.
A blockage in her chest refused to let her breathe. Completely taken by surprise over her own reaction, she didn't know what to do or even think.
Nobody had ever—
She wasn't supposed to—
Clinging to the flickering movement of candlelight on the table, she swallowed against the lump in her throat and tried to make sense of what she was feeling. The weak attempt to ground herself failed miserably.
"Sam?" Dean's quiet, doubtful question condensed her thoughts far more effectively than she herself could have.
Sam, was he truly—
Too overwhelmed by the chaos in her head, the sound of Catriona's voice over the speaker actually made her wince.
"Tie him to that chair before he wakes up. I'll be right back."
Before he wakes up.
Heavens above.
She only just had enough sense to press a hand in front of her mouth to stifle the sound of relief that threatened to escape her.
It took another few seconds and several deep breaths until she regained control enough to think clearly. The first thing she did was mute their microphone, so that the ongoing connection would hopefully remain undiscovered, no matter how much noise they caused.
"What do we do?" Dean asked of her, looking at her with open trust as if she held all the answers in the world.
To the echo of hounds in her mind, she realized how much the lad's behavior reminded her of her time in Scotland, back when Fergus had been but a wee thing.
Casting a glance over to the motel room's door, she knew that she could turn her back on all this and be on her merry way. A past version of her would have done just that.
There was a sensation of wetness clinging to the corners of her eyes. Who knew if it had been caused by the memories of times long gone or by the mistaken conviction that Sam Winchester was no more.
At a distance of just a handful of steps, the door still beckoned her. But she wasn't the same woman anymore.
The things the supposed end of the world did to you.
Getting rid of the unshed tears with a hasty swipe of her hands, she squared her shoulders and straightened her posture before meeting Dean's gaze.
"Why, we save him, of course," she said, as if it was the most logical conclusion in the world. Perhaps it was. Or perhaps she'd finally lost her mind.
Dean smiled like a child who'd found the candy. "Oh, good, yeah, that's—" In a mood change as sudden as a lightning strike, he frowned instead. "How?"

Father of the Year (Part 3)
Tony Stark x child!reader
Quentin Beck x Stark!reader (platonic)
warnings:
a/n: again...and again...and again, it’s just a different take, tony is fictional, dont come at me, love u, bye. also you’d better not let this flop or else there wont be a part 4 ://
prompt:
part 1 part 2 part 4 part 5 part 6
Tumblr media
“Can we come in? We’d like to discuss some things with you.” This “Quentin” character asked you, yet you stayed silent. “We brought snacks.” He lifted up a white plastic bag that slightly rustled with the movement and you groaned, undoing the chain lock and deadbolt before letting them inside.
“You have five minutes.” You warned, keeping your repulsor on your arm.
“I see you’re still using daddy’s tech.” Quentin shot at you and you raised your eyebrows at his courage to already start antagonizing you. “You’re right, I’m sorry. Won’t happen again.” He raised his hands in defense. “By the way, this is my associate, Bill.”
“It’s nice to meet you, Mx. Stark.” He reached his hand out to shake. “I mean, we have met before. It was when you were much younger.”
“We have?” You tried to recount your childhood, but it was nearly impossible. You had met so many people as a kid, it was hard to keep track.
“You see, y/n, me and Bill here both worked for your dad some years ago. Let’s just say...it didn’t end on good terms.” Quentin emptied out the contents of the bag onto one of the motel beds and tossed you a bottle of soda, plus some chips.
“That doesn’t surprise me.” You cracked open the drink and let your guard down, sitting on the other bed. “So, what are you guys up to these days?”
“We’re looking to get back at your—Stark.” He corrected himself as quickly as his voice would let him. “A team of intelligent people who Tony has wronged, and you, y/n, you are the perfect candidate.” Quentin was convincing, you’ll give him that. And this idea that he had, getting back at your dad after everything he’s done to you and this planet, it seemed too good to pass up.
“We saw what you did the other day, it was brilliant.” Bill chimed in with a proud smile. “Building your own robot, showcasing your abilities, and exposing your father on live television. We couldn’t ignore that.”
“He’s right, my friend.” Quentin agreed, backing up his associate’s words. “Listen, y/n. May I call you ‘y/n?’” You nodded your response. “Great, so y/n, let’s start with the obvious. You’re a genius, your skills and expertise are critical to our cause. And your motive, a child whose father failed to appreciate any bit of your excellence. Not to mention your knowledge of Tony Stark, his technology, his connections and utilities, his life—”
“Get to the point, Beck.” You spun a finger of your repulsor hand around in a quick circle, telling him to hurry up. It’d been more than five minutes, but what can you say? You were intrigued by the pitch.
“Y/N...we can give you everything he didn’t. There’s more of us, you know? And they’re dying to meet you.” Quentin sat beside you on the bed, getting very serious. “We’ll appreciate your work, help you succeed, and be there for you through it all. I know he never did that for you, we were there. We saw how he treated you.”
“I have to ask, what exactly did Tony do to you guys that brought you to me?” You saw their expressions drop a bit, but Bill went first.
“I worked at Stark Industries until about ten years ago. Obadiah Stane tasked me and my men to create the arc reactor and...I was just doing my job. Tony wasn’t too thrilled with me, let all of us go.” He admitted to you and you remember exactly who he was.
“And you?” You turned your attention to Quentin.
“Mine was only about a year ago, at MIT. I created what Tony presented and he made a mockery of it. When I addressed it, I was fired on the spot.” He explained with a hint of rage in his voice. “But as I was leaving, I saw you. You were just sitting there all alone and I watched you try to get his attention. I saw him ignore you and go on his way.”
“Yeah, he’s a real asshole, I know. It doesn’t help that he took in this fifteen year old as his own. He’s been mentoring the kid and everything, but won’t give me a second of his time.” You sighed, scratching your head and seeing the two men meet you with worried expressions. “Alright, time’s up. You have a card or something? I’ve got some things to think over.”
“I do have a card!” Quentin flipped open his wallet and pulled one out, you inspected his contact info and set it aside. “And y/n? My team is going to love you. I hope to hear from you soon.” He let himself out with his friend and before you closed the door, you said:
“Thanks for thinking of me.”
—————
It took you a week to work up the courage to give Quentin a call, but something inside you took over and you dialed the number without another thought. “Hello?”
“It’s y/n. I’m in.” You plainly stated and hear a gasp from his side of the phone.
“Y/N’s in!” He shouted and you heard a group in the background of his call cheering. “That’s wonderful to hear y/n. Do you need us to come get you?”
“Just send me an address, I’ll be there as soon as I can.” You told him and hung up the phone as quickly as possible, tossing it on the bed and falling into it facedown. “What am I doing?” Soon after, the phone chimed with an address and a little message.
Unknown: You have no idea how happy we are to have you.
You couldn’t help but smile. Someone actually wanted you around. After that, you threw all of your stuff together, packing your bags full of clothes, stolen toiletries, snacks and leftovers, and a couple very important flash drives. You returned your keys to the front desk, checked out, and made your way to Quentin’s base.
—————
The building was inconspicuous to say the least, but Quentin was already outside waiting for you, which was a plus. You didn’t think that you’d actually stay and poke around if he wasn’t.
“Y/N, you made it just in time! Come on, come in!” He announced as you parked your car and climbed out. He quickly grabbed your bags from you and led you inside to a group of people crowded around a TV with a familiar voice playing. “Everyone, I’m so excited to introduce the newest member of the team, y/n!”
“It’s nice to meet you, now pull up a seat. You’re gonna get a real kick out of this.” One of them instructed and as you moved to get a glimpse of the screen, you saw none other than your absentee father himself giving a statement and public apology on live television.
“And it is with a heavy heart that I announce that my child, y/n, has run away. I don’t know what I ever did to deserve this, but I will say that, y/n, if you are watching this: please come home. Me and everyone else are worried sick about you.” You burst into laughter and tears at the same moment and all eyes were on you.
“You doing okay, y/n?” Quentin placed a hand on your shoulder.
“Me? Oh, no, I’m okay, I’m sorry. I just...god, I hate him with every nerve of my body.” You tuned back into the broadcast.
“To all who were affected by y/n’s outburst and violent attack, I am truly sorry. Let it be known that when I find my child, I will make sure that nothing of this sort every happens again. Stark Industries will be donating a large sum to organizations focused on mental health in response to this attack.” You just shook your head and took your bag from Quentin without a word, kneeling down and sorting through it all.
“I don’t know how that man sleeps at night after lying through his teeth like that.” One of the team members commented.
“Y/N? What are you looking for?” Quentin kneeled down next to you.
“This.” You pulled out a handful of hard drives and files. “Right before I made a run for it, I downloaded tons of my dad’s files. We’ve got schematics and blueprints to some old stuff we can repurpose...and some next-gen stuff so we can give him a taste of his own medicine.” You looked up at Quentin and the rest of the gang and watched their faces light up, brighter than you’d ever seen.
“I like the way you think, y/n.”

Take Me With You
(For my @shadowhunterbingo square: Traveling | Jimon, Rated Teen, referenced alcohol but no archive warnings/other warnings) (Read on AO3) “I don’t need a bodyguard,” Simon insists. “It was one stupid letter.”
“The letter wasn’t stupid,” Jace says, already regretting his appointment to this job. “It was a death threat, by someone who’s sent multiple things to your unlisted apartment.”
“Well, no one knows where I live on the road, which is where I’ll be for the next three months,” Simon points out.
“Oh, yes, the total inability to track you from a list of cities you’re going to and the dates and times you’ll be there. You’re right, no one will ever find you that way,” Jace says, his tone dripping with sarcasm and more than a little condescending. Simon isn’t a no-name, but he isn’t famous-famous either, and Jace hoped that’d make him a little less awful to put up with than Jace’s usual high-profile assignments. So far it’s the opposite - Simon isn’t taking this seriously at all, which is somehow more frustrating than too much importance being put on minor perceived threats.
Simon sighs. “Fine.” It certainly doesn’t sound like he’s fine with it, but Jace isn’t here to argue. He’s here to do a job.
“Great,” Jace says. “You won’t even know I’m here.”
---
That ends up being a complete lie. Of course, when Jace first imagined blending into the background of Simon’s tour life he hadn’t taken into consideration the fact that Simon drove his own van, which would just be the two of them for extended periods of time.
Jace can tell that he’s putting a damper in the way Simon normally functions during his tours, mostly because he’s quiet while they drive. Then he’ll say something, start to ramble, catch himself rambling, and fall abruptly silent again in a repeating pattern.
“Sorry if I’m cramping your style,” Jace says after one of these repetitions, speaking loud enough to be heard over the music playing in the background.
“You’re not,” Simon insists.
Jace is dubious. “What would you be doing if you were alone?” Jace asks.
Simon doesn’t even hesitate before answering, “Scream-singing at the top of my lungs with the windows down. It’s like, my tried-and-true road trip routine.”
“...so do it. Don’t let me stop you,” Jace says.
“My manager hates it because he’s convinced one of these days I’ll end up losing my voice before a show. It’s probably for the best I’m not,” Simon says before falling silent again.
Jace doesn’t push it, nor does he comment when Simon starts to sing to a song that comes on about half an hour later, his voice growing louder and louder until all the windows are down and he’s shouting lyrics into the cool night air.
Jace has to fight the urge to join him. Normally he doesn’t have an issue staying focused on a job but Simon has this disarming way of making Jace want to relax around him. Somehow what he thought would be his easiest job to date continues to throw surprising complications his way.
Still, he keeps his mouth shut and enjoys Simon’s singing as they continue driving into the night.
---
Watching Simon with his fans is nerve-wracking. There’s no telling who might be a threat, not when everyone seems so down-to-earth, much like Simon himself. There aren’t any obviously obsessive fangirls and normal tells like knowing too many personal details is just the norm, with multiple people casually asking Simon about how his Bubbie Helen is doing or about the cat he left at home with Clary during his tour, or the most recent book he’s been reading and chatting about online. It’s difficult to pick out a potential stalker when everyone knows what Jace would typically consider more personal details than usual about Simon.
Jace watches these pre- and post-show encounters with a feeling more like he’s observing conversations between old friends rather than a musician and his fans, signatures and photo ops aside. Simon knows some of them by name, remembers birthdays mentioned over social media or live chats, and even recalls previous conversations. It’s impressive.
Dressed in plain clothes so he blends in with the crowd, Jace grows increasingly impressed with Simon the more time he spends with him. Plenty of people claim to be humble, but few often are in practice. Not Simon. Simon is everything he told Jace when they first met. He’s the same way with his fans that he is in private with Jace, which is the same way he is with his family and friends - Simon’s just, well, Simon, honestly and earnestly and unapologetically.
It’s refreshing. It’s also just another thing for Jace to push to the back of his mind, because he doesn’t need to like the guy - he just needs to protect him. Simon looks up from the table he’s signing CDs at and shoots Jace a beaming smile, and Jace has to actively force himself not to smile back and simply nod his head in acknowledgment instead.
“It’s an assignment, Herondale. Get your shit together,” Jace mutters to himself from the corner of the room. It’s a reminder he repeats more often over the upcoming weeks than he’s comfortable admitting.
---
“Please,” Jace begs after the first two weeks of shows. “I will pay for a better hotel. Let me pay for a better hotel.”
Simon is shaking his head in response before Jace finishes the request.
“Why?!” Jace glances critically around the room. “Do you want to get murdered in a shady motel? Just because I can keep you alive doesn’t mean we have to actively test it every night when we could have a door that doesn’t look like my 11-year-old brother could kick it in.”
“You have a brother?” Simon asks, ignoring everything else Jace said as he tosses his duffel bag (because Simon doesn’t even have a proper suitcase) onto a bed Jace feels the instinctive need to run a blacklight over.
Jace hesitates to answer because this is a job and he isn’t meant to share personal information about himself with his assignment. It’s strange because normally the people he’s tasked to protect are such self-absorbed assholes they barely spare Jace a second glance, let alone casual conversation.
He’s aware that the pause he takes after what should be a simple question is way too long when Simon frowns, brows pinching together.
“Two brothers, actually. One older, one younger, and a sister,” Jace finally decides to share. It’s all he intends on saying, not wanting to be rude and not answer at all, but when Simon brings up his own sister and keeps talking, keeps asking curious, harmless questions, Jace finds himself answering without thinking.
Simon is easy to talk to - maybe a little too easy to talk to, because the next thing they know it’s 1am and they need to be up and back on the road at 6.
“Get some sleep, Lewis,” Jace says finally, taking a few extra minutes to secure the door before doing one last perimeter sweep. When he gets back he pretends he doesn’t notice Simon, still awake, hastily close his eyes and pretend to sleep the second Jace gets back in the room.
---
After the third week, Jace insists that staying at nicer hotels is a matter of security and finally convinces Simon to pull into the parking lot of a proper hotel. One with room service instead of vending machines, plus a gym and a pool. Jace tells himself it’s a matter of security as well, and not a reaction to Simon complaining about having several nights of terrible sleep and some back and neck pain from the old, cheap mattresses.
Jace certainly doesn’t correct Simon’s assumption that this is covered in the contract when in reality Jace is fronting the extra cost himself. After all, this is as much for his own benefit as it is for Simon’s, right?
That’s what he tells himself as he opens up more around Simon as well, sharing a drink or two when Simon insists (never anything enough to impair his judgment, and only ever when they’re back in a room for the remainder of the night), telling a few more personal stories, and… flirting?
Jace isn’t sure, but occasionally when Simon impulsively runs into an ice cream shop in a new city and gets a cone for each of them, or points out a storefront display with a leather jacket he thinks Jace might like, or leans his shoulder into Jace while laughing at something sarcastic Jace says… yeah, sometimes Jace gets the feeling that Simon might actually like him.
Then Jace just as quickly tells himself that it’s just Simon being nice, because Simon is nice, and because of course Simon’s going to be on good terms with the guy he’s stuck with 24/7 for two months. Jace is working for Simon, and their relationship is strictly professional, however pleasant it may also be.
It’s that hard line Jace knows they won’t cross that allows him to continue to open up more, because Simon’s safe. He’ll never see the guy again when all of this is over.
“You’re a good person, Jace,” Simon says one night after a lengthy conversation.
“...what?” Jace isn’t expecting that.
“You know that, right?” Simon’s tone is just shy of insistent, and certainly not rhetorical.
“Why do you say that?” Jace asks instead of agreeing, because… well, because he doesn’t know that. He tries, but he’s made some shitty decisions in his past, and hurt a lot of people, intentionally or not. And Simon doesn’t even know him, so Jace really doesn’t know where this is coming from.
“Just… the way you talk about yourself sometimes. Like you always have something to prove, or make up for... or like you have to justify everything you say. Sometimes I get the feeling you don’t think very highly of yourself even when you’re acting like God’s gift to mankind,” Simon adds with more accurate insight than Jace is comfortable with.
And now Jace really doesn’t know what to do with that.
“What are you, a philosopher now?” Jace mutters, still avoiding any sort of direct commentary on Simon’s way-too-close-to-home observation. “Go to sleep, Simon. I don’t need you too tired to focus on the road tomorrow.”
Simon looks like he’s going to argue but doesn’t in the end, leaving Jace alone with his thoughts in the newly settling silence of the hotel room.
It feels surprisingly pleasant to hear those affirmations from Simon, and Jace considers for the briefest moment what it’d be like to just be friends with Simon outside of their circumstances, to have these discussions and delve deeper into both of their pasts, humoring more of Simon’s personal questions and--
--and everything he can’t let this turn into over the next few weeks. Fuck.
Maybe there’s some harm in opening up after all.
---
They’re a little over halfway through the three-month tour when Jace realizes that perhaps his harmless crush on Simon is stronger than he realized. Jace watches from his usual spot in the corner as Simon signs CDs and sells band t-shirts and poses for photos, which is what he always does. But with every flirtatious laugh and every arm Simon drapes over someone’s shoulder or wraps around someone’s waist, Jace feels the desire to pull Simon away... and it isn’t because he’s in danger. It’s because Jace is jealous.
Jace grows sullen at the realization, arms crossed in front of him as he forces himself to watch Simon with his fans, because this is his job. The more he watches the more he doesn’t even think Simon realizes he’s doing it. Jace knows what active, intentional flirting looks like, but this is just Simon being his natural charming self, and Jace isn’t sure if that makes the whole thing better or worse.
Because it starts to dawn on him with a bit more meaning now that the way Simon’s been with him is the way Simon is with everyone. Jace just gets to experience it more often than everyone else right now. That doesn’t make their conversations special. It doesn’t make Jace anything special to Simon. And hell, maybe it’s just been a while since Jace spent this much time with someone else, too. Maybe he should work on writing off his own motivations as easily as he’s writing off Simon’s because his feelings are far from professional right now.
When the crowd disperses and Jace goes to help Simon wrap up his gear and load it back into the van (something that’s become routine for them, though not strictly in Jace’s list of expected duties) Jace is quieter than usual.
“Everything alright?” Simon asks, catching the shift in mood.
“Yeah. Fine,” Jace says curtly.
Simon doesn’t look like he believes him but doesn’t press the topic as they toss the last of the equipment into the van and head out.
---
The nicer Simon is toward him, the more closed-off Jace gets. He’s quiet during dinners Simon insists on paying for, stops sharing so much about himself when they do talk, and when Simon gives Jace a guitar pick he fashioned into a necklace for him Jace pockets it with a muttered ‘thanks’ without putting it on. He doesn’t have the heart to totally push Simon away, but he can’t keep growing closer to him knowing it’s all going to end in three weeks.
Jace wears the necklace every day but he keeps it tucked underneath his shirts where Simon can’t see.
Simon eventually stops trying to talk to him entirely, and they spend more and more time in uncomfortable silences. Sometimes Simon insists he needs privacy to work on his music and Jace sits at the end of the hallway of their hotel room listening to the faded sounds of Simon’s strumming.
There are three weeks left in Jace’s assignment when he gets the call that the police managed to track the letters to a girl back in New York: she’s in custody and getting a restraining order put against her, and Jace can come back as soon as he arranges transportation.
Jace hangs up the phone feeling surprisingly upset. This is great news for Simon, and he should be happy for him if nothing else, but that means this is the last night he’ll have to spend with Simon.
The last night he’ll get to spend with Simon.
“Hey Simon, good news. I just got a call from Luke and they tracked down your mystery stalker. You’ll get all the details once you’re back home but they’re already putting the restraining order into place, so you’re good to go.”
“What? That’s amazing!” Simon grins automatically, but it falls back into a frown just as quickly. “Does that mean you…?” his words trail off in question.
“I’ll be able to leave in the morning,” Jace confirms.
“Guess you’ll be happy to get out of here,” Simon says, his smile entirely gone.
“I do miss New York,” Jace carefully avoids the answer he knows Simon’s fishing for. The lie he should give, but can’t bring himself to.
Simon looks Jace up and down, his gaze finally resting on Jace’s face for a long couple of seconds, searching for something there before turning away without another word.
---
Jace knows he shouldn’t go to the show, but he does. He hangs in the back, a real drink in hand now that he’s no longer on duty, and listens to Simon sing the songs Jace knows by heart now. Jace knows from experience standing by the side of the stage that there’s no way Simon can make out any faces where Jace currently sits back by the bar. He plans on leaving before the end, before the lights come on and Simon knows he was there.
He’s a few drinks in when he hears Simon break his usual format.
“How does everyone feel about me trying out a new song I’ve been working on?” Simon asks. The crowd claps and cheers, and Jace shifts in his seat to fully face the stage. “This is a song about feeling a connection with someone, and not knowing when things went wrong, only that they did. And wondering if maybe it was all in your head the whole time...”
Jace feels his throat tighten at those words. He doesn’t have to be a genius to piece together the lyrics Simon starts to sing, fitting them to their lives the past few months, the hope of getting to know someone you’re starting to like, the confusion of being shut out, the uncertainty of wondering if they ever felt the same way you did or if they were just humoring you.
Jace knows Simon well enough to know that this isn’t a coincidence. It can’t be.
Against his better judgment, Jace stays. He stays until the set is over and the lights come on and Simon looks out around the crowd and makes direct eye contact with him.
Because fuck it. He’s leaving in the morning, and if this is all for nothing then he’ll never see Simon again and it won’t matter. But if he’s right…
Jace hangs back, watching Simon smile and laugh and sign CDs and take photos, acutely aware of every time the musician’s eyes wander over to where Jace lingers by the bar. Outside of the fading buzz from the alcohol it almost feels normal: hanging back after the show, watching Simon and waiting for him to make his way over once the crowd disperses. Hell, even the butterflies in Jace’s stomach aren’t new.
“You’re here,” Simon says when he finally makes his way over. “I didn’t think you’d come, since… I mean…”
“I heard your new song,” Jace forces the words out before he can change his mind. “I’d say I liked it, but that seems like the wrong response from the guy who made you think you did something wrong.”
“Not everything is about you,” Simon argues, but the intent falls flat beneath the nervous tremor the words are spoken with.
“No,” Jace agrees easily. “But that song is.”
Simon hesitates, then sighs. “It is.”
“I’m sorry.”
“You don’t have to apologize for not liking me, Jace. You were doing your job, that’s-”
“No. I’m sorry I was going to leave without telling you that I like you. I thought I’d leave and you’d never see me again, that it’d be pointless to get attached. I thought you were just… being nice. Because you’re a good person.” The words spill out of Jace before he can overthink them.
“You like me,” Simon repeats incredulously. “That totally makes sense with, you know, the way you completely stopped talking to me.”
Jace can hear the anger in Simon’s voice and winces slightly. Just because it’s entirely deserved doesn’t make it easier to hear.
“I figured it’d be easier to walk away once this was all over if we weren’t as friendly.” It’s still a shitty thing to have done, and Jace wouldn’t blame Simon for holding it against him. But after hearing that song he couldn’t walk away with Simon thinking it was over anything he did wrong. No matter the cost to Jace’s pride, Simon deserves that much. “And… maybe I was a little afraid that if I got much closer I’d want to cross a line I knew I couldn’t.”
“So you felt it too?” Simon’s words and expression are full of so much hope that Jace almost panics again. What if he isn’t half the person Simon thinks he is after getting to know him in this little bubble of theirs from the past few months? What if he messes this up?
...what if he doesn’t?
“I did,” Jace finally admits. “I still do. And I know I probably ruined any chance I had before, but if I haven’t fucked things up too badly, maybe once you’re back in New York we could meet up for coffee?”
Simon smiles, brighter than the house lights that fill the small venue now.
“Or… or you could stay with me for the last few shows? I wasn’t just being nice for the sake of being nice - I like you, Jace. I changed my hotel routine for you! I wouldn’t do that for just anyone. I don’t know if you have to go back right away for work, or something, but if you don’t I definitely wouldn’t mind the company. Your company.”
Jace considers it for a few long moments, then nods. It’s fitting, he thinks, to drop the formalities and the professional distance in the same setting he started to fall for Simon in. The same setting in which Simon started to fall for him, despite Jace’s best efforts to dissuade him, only this time with no excuses to hold him back. And if Simon’s willing to give him an actual shot after everything, he’d be a fool not to take it.
“Well, I can’t very well leave you to lug all your equipment around by yourself, can I?” Jace says, smiling. “Let me check back in with the office tomorrow morning but I don’t have anything scheduled. It shouldn’t be an issue.”
There’s a pause then, the air between them filled with an almost electric buzz of anticipation. Simon takes the first step closer, bridging the gap between them. There’s no questioning what Simon’s thinking when his eyes dart down to Jace’s lips and back up to meet his gaze again before speaking.
“Can I-”
Before Simon can finish, Jace’s lips are already on his in response. It’s slow and tentative, with each of them feeling the other out, but it’s nice. It’s really nice. When they pull away after a few moments Simon can’t keep the smile off his face. “That was even better than I imagined.”
Jace quirks an eyebrow, smirking fully now. “You imagined us kissing?”
“Shut up and help me load the van.”
The familiar banter and Simon’s easy smile are such an immediate comfort for Jace that he can’t help the light laugh he gives in response. As Simon looks back at Jace it’s with an expression so soft and full of kindness that Jace knows now isn’t the same look he reserves for everyone else.
Jace knows it’s a look reserved only for him this time - and with any luck, for many more times to come.

Dean Winchester Imagine/Preference - After he left you stranded Part 2
Tumblr media
Part 1 Dean Winchester Imagine/Preference- He leaves you stranded (Gender Neutral Reader)
I don’t own this gif, but all I know is it’s from tenor.
This takes place a around season 5 and 6 just for reference as to some things said and Castiel makes appearance. Angst/Fluff.
“You fucking asshole! You fucking suck!” Although you felt a little better, you looked like a crazy person to the people passing. You covered your shoulders in hopes to lessen the bumps that textured your skin. You were lost in your thoughts when you collided into a body. You looked up to see, but you were barely able to make out their face. Tears were blurring your vision. You wiped one of your eyes, which gave you enough visibility to make out Castiel. You didn’t even bother wiping the tears and simply asked him, “What are you doing here? Did something happen? Are you okay?”
“What I am doing here is that I heard your cries of distress. Also, I was wondering who you were referring to.”
“Don’t worry, I wasn't talking to god, or you, or some angel...just the world...Me and Dean got in a fight.”
“I did see a glance of that interaction, my apologies.”
”You didn’t mean to...Wait, you came because I was crying?”
”Yes. I was wondering what trouble there could be that would make you cry. Through most of our encounters, you’ve seemed very level headed and calm, so it had to be of importance...Well, I assumed.”
“Sorry to disappoint. It’s just relationship drama.”
“Disappointment doesn’t correlate to me and your situation. It wouldn't make sense.”
“I don’t mean it literally.”
“Ah.”
“I’m sorry. You came for nothing.”
“He left you here. Why?”
“Cleary, he doesn't care...enough...if at all.”
“But, you are in a relationship. Are you not? Why would he leave you here if he cared?”
“Hell if I know.”
“Anyway, it is not for nothing that I came. I can provide comfort.”
“I really don’t need it. There’s nothing you could say.”
“But, you need it.”
“There are more important things...you probably need to get back to your war, right?” He replied with a heavy sigh and the words, “I could use the break.”
“Let’s talk about you. It would make me feel better if you felt a little better.”
“How can I feel better?”
“Just tell me how you feel about the war. How’s the war going? I’m sure that’s a stupid question, but I thought it was better than not asking anything. I know we don’t pay enough attention to you on the personal level...I’m sorry we haven’t been able to help you. I’m sorry you have to kill your brothers and sisters…”
“Thank you...You are the only one whose expressed concern to me…It’s simply terrible at all times.” You put a hand on his shoulder and keep walking. ”So, where are you going?”
“I don’t know.”
“I can take you back to where you were residing.” Castiel reaches forward to take your shoulder, but you move back from him before he gets the chance. He furrows his brows and tilts his head at you. A look of pure innocent confusion.
“No. I will tough it out. If he’s just gonna leave me here, I’m gonna make my own way. I refuse to be helped.”
“Why?”
“For some dignity or pride with a hint of stupidity because it's cold and gonna be a long walk.”
“I could take you to the motel, and you could call it your way. You are exercising your resource, i.e me.”
“No, Cas. I don’t want to take the easy route. He thinks he can control me and make me feel worse? Nope! I’m gonna get there on my own, and he can't say anything. He doesn't deserve the satisfaction. I walk for me and me only.”
“I do not understand. I do not understand your desire to take the difficult path.”
“Sometimes it’s...it’s worth it. The hard way has its moments. Plus, Cas, you shouldn't have to take me.”
“I want to.” A blast of light strikes before it starts pouring rain. You continue on your pace, unwavering.
“Has your plan changed?!” Castiel yelled over how loud the rain was.
“Nope! Well-I think I’m just gonna walk all the way to the motel we were at! Get my things and get out of there!”
“That’s a bad plan!”
“Best one I’ve got! I only have $20 on me, and I left my stuff in Dean’s car!”
“You’re going to get sick!” He says, but it gets muffled by the sound of thunder.
“What?!”
“I said you’ll get sick!”
“So be it! I’ll live!”
“I should head back!” He looked regrettable because he doesn’t want to go. You give him the best smile you can muster and give him a hug along with the words, “Thank you for being here for me although unintentional!”
“I express my appreciation to you asking about me. Hope you have safe travels; however, unlikely I think it is right now!” You laugh a bit at his words. You weren't sure how to respond, but it didn't matter. You never got the chance to as he flew away. You feel a bit better having talked to Castiel. You're thankful for the rain sympathizing with you, and you think you’ve stopped crying. Determined, you walk all night until you get to the motel at about 6:30 am. You were lucky enough to find someone to check you in. With a very hoarse voice, you say, “Can I get the room key for 321 B? I lost mine.”
“I can't just let you in, lady.” He says firmly.
“You saw me come in with those two big guys.”
“Oh. Yeah.” You leave your hand out ready, but he continues to say, “Still...I can't just give it to you.” You reach forward frustrated and grab him by the collar. You take out the $20 from your pocket.
“Listen, bud-You either take my $20 and give me the key, or I take the key, forcefully. Your choice.” He reaches for it desperately and hands it to you. You open the door, and you see both Sam and Dean still asleep. You quietly get your things, and you head back to the clerk. He moves to the wall, scared. You put money on the table.
“Give me a room for one.” He taps uneasily, but does as you say quickly.
“Thank you.” You go to your new room. Immediately, you head for the water and chug it down earnestly. You sneeze three times in a row and wipe your nose. You change your clothes into warmer attire, which ends in pj’s. You get over to the bed and cover yourself in the blankets. You feel some kind of warmth reach your body, but you can't help still feeling cold. You grab tissue next to yours and have to keep blowing mucus out of your body.
“Gret.” You said nasally. “I’m fucking sick.” You shrug and close your eyes as your weak and tired body won’t allow anything else to happen.
No One’s POV
Dean wakes up to being shaken harshly. He pulls out his gun from under the pillow and says, “What?” His eyes meet Sam’s, and Sam asks, “Where’s Y/N?” Dean puts his gun down; After sitting up, he tries to respond before he cuts himself off and remembers everything from last night. “They’re somewhere...”, He says pursing his lips and starts putting his clothes back on.
“Somewhere?”
“Yeah.” He says and puts on his boots.
“What happened?”
“Why are you asking?”
“Clearly, something happened because you won’t give me a straight answer. Where are they?”
“I don’t know.”
“What?!”
“We got in a fight...”
“And?!”
“And I...left them.” He said softly that Sam couldn’t hear.
“What?”
“I left them at the bar.” He said firmly.
“You’re such a dick! Fucking asshole! They're not here! Something could have happened to them!”
“I know! I know…” Dean stood up and looked around the room. His eyes landed on the couch where their bag should be. His mouth became very dry, and his heart panged. “Oh god…” He whispered.
“What?” Sam asked as he looked in Dean’s direction. As Sam came to the same relaxation, he clenched his jaw, and said, “You really fucking suck!” Dean just walked over to his keys on the counter and headed out the door. Sam hurriedly got his jacket and followed after. “Where the hell are you going?”
“The bar.”
“I doubt they're there.”
“What makes you say that?”
“It’s not like they can stay there all night. It was raining last night too. They can't just sit outside the bar like they’re living there.”
“You don’t know. They could've stayed put.”
“They didn’t get fucking lost! And they’re not some child! You left them there! Left your s/o there!” Dean can only clench his jaw and start the car. As they arrive at the bar, they ask anyone around, but no one knows where they’d gone. Dean got back into Baby and he jerked the steering wheel angrily. “Dammit!...” He let out a breath. “Where would they go?”
“Somewhere to sleep?” Sam tells him with a shrug.
“How’s that work?”
“What do you mean?” Dean gestures to the back where their jacket was. Sam picks it up and looks inside of it to see their phones and wallet. “Great! Just great Dean! You left them without anything! There is no way of finding them.”
“Sam, can you shut the hell up?! I know I messed up! I know I'm the fucking asshole that left his s/o stranded in the rain! I’m fucking selfish!-” He stopped for a moment and his eyes became teary. He looked out the window for Sam not to see him, and in a weak voice said, “Something could have happened...” Dean held the steering wheel until is knuckles turned white. Sam looked at him sympathetically and said, “I’m glad you know. Look, Let’s head back to the motel.”
“What?! We can't just-”
“If you were upset enough to leave them, I know they're more upset. They didn’t try to contact me or anyone, so chances are they figured it out...I mean if nothing happened...They’ll probably be stubborn enough to get back on their own. The bar is far from the motel on foot, but they probably walked, D.” As Sam and Dean pull into the motel, Dean paces around in nervousness. Having done so for about 2 minutes, his eyes end up landing on the small frame of someone by the vending machine. He looked down to their shoes to see the wrecked combat boots he’d been seeing for the longest. He basically jogged up. Sam followed slowly in confusion. Dean’s eyes met their face, and he fully ran over to them. He scooped them in his arms. His arms wrapped over their waist.
Your POV
Dean let out a shaky breath and smiled. With teary eyes, he reached to cup your face. You moved away from his touch and took yourself out of his embrace.
“Y/N-”
“Sam, how are you this morning?!” You asked. You were not going to just let him off the hook. While he looked worried, you remembered how unimportant you seemed last night, so you ignored him. In your peripherals, you could see Dean licked his lips nervously.
“Better. Now, that you're no longer missing. We-” Sam replied and was cut off by Dean saying, “Where the hell were you?!” You ignored his worry and responded, “Sam, you didn’t have to worry. I just got another room for myself this time around.”
“We went everywhere looking for you. Glad you're safe.”
“Than-Achoo!” You put your nose on your sleeve. Dean reached over in calmer composure to grab your arm and tell you, “Come on, red nose, we’ll get you better.” You pulled away from him. You looked toward Sam and said, “I’m gonna get myself something warm and sleep a bit more. I had a loooong night.” You couldn’t help being a little shit since you felt it was owed to you for the shitty night you had before. You padded Sam’s shoulder and told him, “I’m gonna head back to my room see you later.” before you left towards your room. With a heavy heart and footsteps, you were in the need to feel some kind of better since being sick didn’t help.  When you got into your room, you went into the bathroom to take a look in the mirror. “Oh. I do look terrible.” You turned on the showerhead and walked back into the main space only to see Dean. You gave him one more second until you averted your eyes and resumed ignorance of his existence. You were getting clothes when you heard the shower turn off. You rolled your eyes and were making your way back to the bathroom when Dean blocked your path. You sighed heavily and threw you clothes on the couch. You walked back over to your bed, curled into the blanket and tried to get back to sleep. You felt his eyes on you, but you refused to look at him. You felt the bed starting to dip, and you couldn’t help state, “Don’t.”
“We’ve got to talk…” He said delicately. You sat up and looked at him as he shifted nervously in a way that made you just want to go hug him. Instead, you stayed put and found the words, “Talk.” slipping past your lips.

Chapter 3.
The slam on the door jolts you awake first thing in the morning.
With a whine, you hold your head before looking at Dean who's curled around you like a snake as he continues to sleep.
"Hey!" Sam yells through the door.
You hear the small tinkering in the lock before the door comes opening up with him crouched down right before it. He gives a nervous chuckle as you raise an eyebrow at him.
"Lock picking so early in the morning, Samuel?"
"We got a new body. Prostitute just like our first victim." He says before looking down at Dean as he buries his face into your bare side.
"Me and Dean will go. Let me just get him up." You say before giving his younger brother a weak smile.
Sam shakes his head, a smile widening over his face as he closes the door shut.
You look down to your left as you blink, trying to clear your mind of all the alcohol sluggishness you feel. He looks so peaceful when he's sleeping. No hardened eyes or worry lines on his forehead.
His lips are gently parted, the famous Dean stubble gracing his sleeping face.
You want to open up the cage that surrounds your heart and that's exactly why you can't.
You shouldn't want to do anything. And, maybe that's the harsh negativity in your brain but you can't see any other way around it.
Letting him in would mean you would be vulnerable. Would he be the one to protect you? He would be the one to comfort you?
He shouldn't have to.
Fuck that destiny stuff. Fuck that soulmate stuff.
But, you're frightened that there will be a time when you need him over anything else.
And it's slowly coming to that time. The time to just let out your demons and accept that you're not safe and sound if it isn't with Dean.
"Dean?" You whisper softly as you nudge him.
He groans at the call of his name, nudging his hips closer to yours and you can feel his morning erection digging into your thigh as he sniffles gently.
You've felt it before, you've felt his hips snap and jolt against you looking for the heat of your body to get him off in his sleep throughout the years.
You can feel the fresh wave of arousal washing over you like waves. Your vision tunnels as you look down at his briefs.
He must have taken his pants off after you fell asleep.
His thighs are toned and taut as they flex beneath the thin black fabric of his underwear.
Subconsciously, you lick your lips as the outline of his cock protrudes through the fabric.
You've always heard praise and moans through thin motel walls from the women he's fucked. Always moaning about how big his cock is and how it fills them so full. You always thought it was a show until now. He was packing something serious in those denim jeans of his.
You haven't been fucked in a long time. Too long if you're being honest.
You can only imagine how his perfect pink lips would feel as they drift down your body. His calloused hands rough and urgent against your warm, soft skin. How his stubble would tickle you and make your skin only that much more sensitive for him.
Your hand cards through his hair and you lose yourself for a second as you watch him.
"Like what you see?" You hear him murmur, his voice laden with sleep.
Your eyes widen, your heart begins to pick up speed at the embarrassment of getting caught.
Your hands react first, shoving him hard and fast away from you. He rolls off the bed and groans loudly as his body collides with the floor.
"Jesus Christ!" He whines as he sits up.
His eyes snap open, evergreen irises finding yours before he's rubbing the bleariness away with his fists.
"Let me give you a little lesson-," he cringes standing up before walking over to the counter and grabbing water, "if you see a hard cock, you touch it. You don't fling the person into the void." He grumbles before sipping the water.
You narrow your eyes at him, pulling the sheets over your half naked body, "Eat a dick, hot shot." You counter and he just simply smiles at the motel room floor before walking towards the bathroom.
"Relax, Candy girl. I like waking up next to you. Starts my day off right." There was no flirtatious tone to his voice, no wink. Nothing that would signify him trying to get into your pants. It brings a blush to your cheeks and neck.
You find yourself grimacing as he shuts the door.
Wearily, you get up and grab your clothes before staring at the bathroom door.
Maybe if you crack the cage of your heart open only a little bit, it might suffice. Maybe if you just let him in a little then it would take away your pain.
"We have a new body." You call to him through the bathroom door.
He swings the door wide open as he steps out and you shield your body with your clothes as he leans against the door jamb.
"Let's get ready to gank this bitch then."
You roll your eyes before shooing him away but you don't miss as his eyes drift over your almost bare legs that your clothes can't seem to cover.
His eyes flicker with mischief before retreating back into the bathroom with a sly smirk on his face.
Tumblr media
God, if there was one thing that Dean knew it was that he was way more into you then you were into him.
Opening the passenger door to the Impala, he waits for you to step out of the hotel room.
It's very rare to see you in a pencil skirt but the times that you do have it on, it's an experience for Dean.
Your legs look so soft, your toned thighs are hidden and teasing underneath the constraining fabric, nevermind how pert and perky the globes of your ass look.
He can't help the laugh he gives as you pull down the skirt uncomfortably, trying to make it go past your knees.
Everything you do is so endearing to him.
It's almost incredible to him that you've been the person you are since he met you and growing up he tried to get into people that were so absolutely different from you.
You were sexy and confident, not overly sexual and not flirtatious at all. You were focused and did your job to the best of your ability.
He admired everything about you in your entirety so when we looked for women, he looked for everything opposite of you. No one could ever be you nor would he want them to be.
"I feel so fucking restricted, this is horrible." You complain as you climb into the car.
"You look good." He comments simply.
You watch him walk around the car, his fingers tapping rhythmically against Baby's hood. He fixes his tie and you can feel your palms become sweaty at the sight of him in the rented suit.
You decided that you would start to open your cage, just a bit. Healing starts with you, it wouldn't just get better on its own.
Dean climbs into the car before turning to you. Without a second thought, you fix his tie even better than he could have done minutes earlier.
His breath stutters as you wipe off the shoulders of his suit jacket. Eyes widening a fraction as he looks down at you.
"What the fuck is wrong with you?" He murmurs as he starts the engine.
"Nothing." You reply as his hand purchases behind your chair.
What is it about Dean Winchester reversing a car that's so hot? The way he angles his body towards yours, you can smell all of his scents plus the citrusy bar of soap the motel provides.
He hums to himself as he begins to back up the car. You begin to count the freckles on his face before his eyes snap to yours.
"You are really weird today." He mumbles before pushing your hair off of your shoulder and squeezing it lightly.
"Marsh wouldn't want us to fight. He loved us being together." You say certainly as you look out the window.
Dean stops the car before turning to look at you fully. His eyes were roaming over your face. Your voice seemed peaceful. Were you letting him in again? Were you making the time to open your heart up for him once more?
"Yeah...he did love us being together." He replies as he tilts his head.
You give a small smile towards the window, watching him stare at you through the glass.
"Marsh would be mad at us if he saw how we've been acting." You say as you lower the window.
The man beside you stares ahead as he clears his throat.
You were opening up. He can feel his mood lifting into something on the sweet side of happiness.
Maybe dreary clouds and terrible fights were on their way out. Maybe, you could start to be his life partner once more.
He smirks to himself as he stops at the light.
"I'm glad you see it that way. I agree." He whispers before turning up the music.
On the way to the morgue, the car ride is filled with singing and laughs. Something that's been so distant in both of your lives for quite some time.
"Can you not touch that?" Dean asks as you throw your legs up onto the dashboard.
"What's got your panties in a twist, De? I want to listen to Kansas." You whine holding up the cassette.
His evergreen irises flicker to you as he drives down the highway. You give him a wide smile, showing him your pearly whites and he smirks before grabbing the cassette.
"Fine just don't tell Sam I'm letting you pick the music." He mumbles before blasting the music as he lowers all your windows.
"WOO!" You cheer, the Indiana breeze blowing through your hair as you start to play the air guitar.
You can hear his hearty chuckle beside you as he speeds up the car.
"You're the only girl I know that is me in the female form!" Dean yells above the music as he turns the car along the highways curves.
"Maybe that's why we make such a great team!" You call back as the melody of voices carries through the air.
"We're the perfect team, Candy girl! All I need is you, me, Sammy and a six pack of El Sol!" He yells as the engine revs loudly.
Tumblr media
Sitting in the motel room by his lonesome, Sam taps his cell phone against his temple as he scrolls through his laptop.
What kind of pissed off spirit has the mojo to do this? There's not a single haunting as far as the eye can s-
"Hello Sam." He jumps in his chair before turning to the voice of Cas as he stands before the small kitchenette of the room.
"Hi Cas. Jesus." He mumbles before carding his fingers through his long hair.
Castiel stands quietly as Sam shuts his laptop.
"Uhhh Cas? Did you come for a reason?" The taller man asks as he grabs his cup of coffee.
"Yes." The angel replies and Sam nods slowly before raising his eyebrows.
"Okay. So. Why're you here?" He asks aloud as Cas sits down at the small table.
"We have to make Dean and Y/N fall in love with each other." Sam groans loudly at his words before sipping his coffee.
"Cas, I told you. I've tried but Dean just doesn't want to hear it. He's been hearing it since he was sixteen from our dad." The taller man notifies as he rests his elbow on the table.
"We should tell Y/N." Sam narrows his eyes at the angel before laughing.
"Yeah? Do you think she would take it better than Dean?"
Cas ponders on the thought for a second before humming uneasily, "No. In fact, I think she might try to hit me for suggesting it and break her own hand in the process."
Sam gives him a thumbs up before rolling his eyes.
"They already love each other. They just have to get over the whole initial terror of being actual people with one another." He mumbles as Cas stares at him.
"Yes. But they need to do the act of love for destiny. God sent everyone a direct message, and they are just not heeding it." Sam leans forward at his admission.
"God wants Y/N and Dean together?" Sam asks loudly.
"Oh yes. It's been aware to all angels for quite some time. Right after you went into the cage."
"Well why didn't you say that before? That's kind of a big deal, Cas!" Narrowing his eyes at the vessel of Lucifer, he stands back up.
"It isn't as big of a deal as it should be, apparently. They aren't even taking this seriously." He deadpans, his voice getting dangerously low.
Sam scoffs before looking down at his phone.
"I don't know what to say. They just have to figure it out on their own." He mumbles.
"Useless." Cas says before vanishing from sight.
Sam lets out a groan before opening up his laptop once more.
"You're useless." He whispers under his breath before continuing his research.

Pulling at your skirt, you shove the doors open exiting the morgue with your best friend by your side.
"They both were pulled from the same corner, both were aspiring models that wanted to just make some extra cash to live." Dean says as he takes off his tie.
You frown before giving up at the uncomfortable fabric and groaning loudly.
"Would you stop? You look like your diggin' up your ass to find gold." He whispers as people walk by you into the building.
"Yeah well, this skirt fucking sucks! I feel trapped in a cocoon!" You bark back as you walk towards Baby.
"Your butt looks good though." He compliments calmly as he walks around the car.
"Shut up!" You admonish as he opens the door for you.
"Look! I can't even move my legs!" You complain as you try to stretch your legs, the fabric only giving way about four inches before you find your legs trying to close from the tightness of the fabric.
Rolling his eyes he unbuttons the top button of his dress shirt.
"Yeah, alright. I hear you. Let's go back and change. God, you whiner." He says, leaving your door open as he rounds the car to open his own.
Throwing your body into the car, you unzip the back of your skirt before sighing happily.
Dean looks over before his eyes widen and he grips the steering wheel tightly.
He can see the revealing skin beneath the open zipper, the gentle parting of your asscheeks below the tight fabric.
"Are you kidding me?" He complains as he turns on the engine.
"I don't feel as suffocated, leave me alone." You mutter out as you unbutton a few buttons on your blouse.
You were used to tight tank tops, loose jeans and combat boots.
His eyes falter to the soft looking skin in his peripheral again, his tongue tracing over his bottom lip before clearing his throat.
"Just wear suit pants next time. Jesus." He says as he pulls out of the parking lot.
"Let's go change and get a beer. I'm thirsty." You tell him as you lower your window.
His head turns to watch you while he stops at a stoplight as you angle yourself out the window. The globes of your ass press tightly together as you fix yourself comfortably in the seat.
Running his large hand over his face, his bottom lip tucks between his teeth.
You don't even know how sexy you are. You don't even care. That's what gets him so hot and bothered when he's alone.
"Light's green." You comment as you look at the autumnal leaves on the trees.
God, what if he could just wrap his big hand around your waist and tug you into his lap. Pull you over the middle console of Baby and grip those sexy cheeks between his fingers.
So fucking pert and per-
"The light's green, idiot." You tell him as a car honks behind him.
Sticking up his middle finger, he abandons his wildly horny thoughts to drive down the road.
"So are we getting beers?" You ask as you sit properly in the passenger's seat.
"Oh yeah. I need a drink." He murmurs, turning up the music loud.
Tumblr media
"Yeah well we need to be quick about this. Another victim seems to be coming up." You say as you sit down in the booth of the dive bar with your two best friends by your side.
Throwing your legs over Dean's lap, you watch as his hands immediately grip them tugging you closer to his body on instinct as he sips his beer.
"There's not a single haunting in this town of Missouri." Sam whispers as the waitress comes over.
"Hey guys! Can I get you another round?" She asks, her eyes immediately wavering to the older brother as she pushes some hair behind her ear.
It doesn't quite bother you as much as you would think. Dean's been getting pussy since you both met.
"What do you want?" He asks you, his thumb drifting over the leather of your thigh high combat boots as he ignores the waitress.
"Whisky and coke." You say as you look through the documents Sam has printed from a nearby Staples.
Dean leans closer to you and you freeze, your eyes flitting to Sam. You can feel your heart begin to beat faster, can feel your breath stuttering in your throat.
"You have an eyelash." He mumbles as he picks the lash off of your cheek.
Pulling back he holds the eyelash on his index finger in front of your face before turning to the waitress.
"I'll have what she's having. Sammy?"
"Same." He murmurs suppressing his smile as you narrow your eyes at the younger brothers.
The waitress smiles, "Three whisky and cokes coming up. You want your drink extra strong, handsome?"
Dean clears his throat as he pushes his empty beer bottle farther away from himself.
"Whatever you're giving my girl is good enough for me." He says calmly.
You wish that things would just fall into place, for the pain to go away and for your heart to be soothed and open once more.
You blow the eyelash off of his finger before leaning back in the booth.
"She's your girlfriend?" The waitress asks, pointing at you with her pen.
You don't dignify a response as you stare at the pages of information on the victims. You're used to Dean turning the flirting into his nightly pleasure within a few minutes.
"My wife, actually." Dean says before he finishes off your beer and grabs some papers on the case you're working.
Sam smiles widely before finishing his beer and you roll your eyes, suppressing the smirk your face just naturally wants to give.
Her smile falters as she grabs the empty beer bottles before nodding.
"Lucky girl." She says and you snort before looking up at her.
"You don't know the half of it." You deadpan, earning a loud laugh from the younger best friend on your right.
Dean doesn't even watch her walk away, he plays with the laces of your boots as you continue to rifle through the papers.
"She was pretty." You comment as you turn your attention to him.
He looks up from your boots just to shrug, "Not in the mood."
His brother lets off a low whistle as he leans his shoulder against yours, "Dean Winchester isn't in the mood? Has the world ended?"
You giggle at his joke while his older brother grimaces.
"Shut up." He mutters.
"Here you go. Three whisky and cokes." The waitress says as she begins to take them off the tray.
"Thank you swee-" He stops himself short before looking at Sam, who gives him a teasing smile as you put down the two photos of the victims on the table.
"Oh my Gosh. Those are the victims, aren't they?" The waitress whispers quietly as she leans against the booth.
"You know them?" Sam asks as he pushes his hair back.
"Of course. We haven't had murders or prostitutes for a long time around here." You sit up straighter, pulling your legs from Dean's lap.
"A long time? Online it says you never had any." You ask, tilting your head.
Dean sips his drink, staring at you instead of the waitress.
It's cute when you become interested in information, the way your shoulders straighten and your neck sticks out just a tad.
"Well yeah. The mayor probably doesn't want people to know that his grandmother was actually a prostitute. Or so they say." You hum intrigued as you pick up your drink.
She notices how keen you are and continues to speak, angling her body towards you.
"Apparently back in the early nineteen hundreds, there were prostitutes on that very corner. The mayor's grandmother being one of them. There was a guy named Morley Rosmund that had sex with one of the women from the corner behind his wife's back and she got pregnant. When he told her to get rid of it, she ended up killing him. She had sex with him first and then put his body through a woodchipper. Only up to his pelvis though and then she left him. Since then, all prostitutes have been disappearing on that corner for years." You nod at the story, your eyes flickering to Dean as he shakes his head with a wry chuckle.
"And no one talks about this?" Sam asks as she stands back up.
"You just need to talk to people that do know the tale, I guess." She says with a shrug before nodding to a group of people that call her from the other side of the bar.
"Well I'll be damned." Dean lifting his glass.
"Cheers." You say before clinking glasses with the both of them.
"Guess I'm putting on a dress tomorrow." You mutter as you write down the dead man's name.
"Can't wait to see how uncomfortable you get with that." Dean jeers with a laugh as he picks your legs back up and puts them on his lap.
Raising an eyebrow, you watch as he strokes the leather of your boots.
"It's comforting." He mumbles before finishing his drink with one large gulp.
Yeah, it is comforting.

Part 2  Part 3  Part 4 Part 5 Part 6 Part 7
Around 2200 words.
Backstory:
In 1991 Y/N L/N was born. You were raised up by your parents. You loved them you really did, but they were never really there, with being hunters and all. You didn’t know much about the hunting business. But as you grew up you got to learn that all myths had a form of truth behind them and you gained some basic fighting skills to protect you in an emergency, and a knack for sorting lore. But that was it really. Your parents never discussed the details of work at home and being hunters, you moved around a lot. Which meant no real friends were ever made. You were lonely but getting a new book each time, you moved helped with that. Life was okay, until the accident.
You were 14 at the time. It was 9pm Tuesday when your parents left to hunt a vampire nest, whilst you were sat in a dodgy motel room waiting for them to come back. 3 hours later. 10 hours later. 12 hours later. You began to worry, but there wasn’t exactly anything you could do, you didn’t know where they were to try and find them, so you waited.
35 hours later. 8am Thursday and your parents still weren’t back, and you knew what you should do. You opened your old notebook to the back page and rang the emergency number just like you had been told. It rang a few times and then a gruff voice picked up, he had obviously been woken up by the phone call.
“Who the hell is this and why have you woken me up at this ungodly hour?” the voice on the other end of the line grumbled.
You froze. What were you supposed to say? It was only Bobby so you don’t know why you were so nervous.
“Hello? If this is you Dean, I swear the next time I see you” he trailed of.
“No.” You spoke still unsure. “It’s Y/N. Y/N L/N.”
“Oh, hello kid, why the sudden ring this early? Parents need a place to sleep again?”
“No Bobby its… they...” You trailed of. “they went on a hunt and its Nearly been 2 days since I’ve seen them and they said if this ever happens to call you and so I did and I’m sorry for waking you up its just I don’t know what to do and I don’t know where they are I just….”
“Wait, slow down. Where are you?” He interrupted.
“Jim Thorpe. Pennsylvania.” You replied.
“Where were they going before, they left? “
“To deal with a vampire nest.”
“all right kid, you did the right thing calling me. Pennsylvania? I’m 19 hours away so I’ll tell you what I’ll do. I’m going to call some buddies of mine to see where they are, I think they are near the area and they will come and stay with you until I can get there okay? I’m going to call them now and then I will call you back, all I need you to do is tell me what motel you are in and stay there until I call back okay?” he explained trying to hide his worried tone.
“I’m at the ummmm…. Penn Terrace Motel. Room 12” you replied looking at the branded paper near the phone.
“Okay kid I’ll call you back soon. Don’t worry everything’s going to be fine” and with that he hung up.
You sat on the stiff motel bed looking down at the phone in your hand. You were numb. You weren’t exactly sad or worried, you were just numb. It was probably because you knew there was a chance your parents were gone but it just hadn’t synced in yet. So, you just sat, empty minded until the phone rang again.
“Right kid, my friends are only 15 minutes away, so they should be there in about 20 tops. I’m going to get a few things together and then leave to come and see you. It’s about 8:30 now so I will leave around 8:40, it will take me around 19 hours and I’ll need to fill up gas at some point so another 5 mins, and then I’ll need to take a break halfway for about an hour for food so I’ll get there at about….5:00am tomorrow. Is that okay?”
“Um yeah”
“Are you going to be okay? How are you feeling? As soon as I get there, we will go looking for your parents okay?”
“Yeah I’m fine, okay”
“Right so my friends names are Sam and Dean. They will knock at your door and take you to get some food and will help us find your parents when I get there, but for that you’re going to have to find your dads maps, or evidence he has and give it to them. Can you do that?”
“Yeah I think I know where it is.” You respond looking at the bottom drawer next to their bed.
“You sure you’re going to be okay kid? Do you want me to wait on the phone until they get there?”
“No, it’s okay you can go get ready and I’ll find the evidence” you reply awkwardly to your godfather.
“Okay, well just ring me if you need anything else. Oh, and don’t worry about Sam and dean, they are nice just don’t open the door unless they say its them. Got it?”
“Got it”
“Right okay, I’ll see you soon kid”
“Bye Bobby” you hung up the phone. Looking at the clock it was now 8:35 which meant his friends wouldn’t be there for another 15 minutes. But might as well be prepared. You got up of the old bed and made your way over to the other side of the room. Leaning down and opening the bottom drawer to find it so full it was hard to open. After cramming somethings down, you managed to open it and you unload piles of paper, until you reach a leather journal.. It’s your dads and you know you aren’t allowed to touch it let alone look into it so you pick it up and discard it on the bed next to the drawer, you aren’t sure why you do this as it’s not like he is there to see you but either way you do.
You still have a while to wait so you sit on the bed and decide to busy your mind with sorting out the evidence. You know that if you sit there and do nothing you will end up worrying yourself so this is a way to keep you busy, plus you like organising and it will make you feel like you have done something to help.
You first sort out newspaper articles, then maps, then printed pages of lore and then finally notes scribbled across paper. You look at the maps and the slightly indescribable pen marks over them and start to get an idea on where the nest is. You had just narrowed it down to 3 places all abandoned within the radius of the killings when there was a knock at your door. You froze. You hear raced and you stayed silent. Another knock. You look over to where the knife your father got you for your birthday when you see the clock, it read 8:52. You had been sat sorting for 17 minutes and you hadn’t realised. Which meant it was probably Bobby’s friends at the door, still you were hesitant as you stood up and peaked out through the blinds, you were met with the sight of two men stood at you doorway. One with long brown hair wearing a grey t shirt with a brow zippy over. The other with shorter lighter hair wearing a green button up who was shorter than the other. Both looking tired and worried as they once again knocked on the door.
“Y/N” The taller one called through the door. “It’s Sam and Dean, we are the people Bobby sent”.
You slowly opened to door and let them in. Once they were in the room it was quiet. No one knew what to say so you all just stood looking at each other until the smaller one spoke up.
“Hey, I’m Dean this is my brother Sam. How are you doing?”
“Fine. I’m Y/N but you already knew that. How are you?” it was true. You were fine. You weren’t sad, certainly weren’t happy just fine. You knew you weren’t going to be a set emotion until you knew for sure where your parents were so for now you were fine.
“Alright thanks, and well in that case did you manage to find any of your dad’s resources?” The one who turned out to be Dean asked.
This got you interested. “Yeah, over on the bed. I sorted them out and I think I found a few places where the nests are likely to be. I wrote some notes on the back of a recite. I look through it all but there might be some more in my dad’s book, but I’m not allowed to go through that sooo” You trailed of.
All three of you looked over to the green duvet bed. The brothers headed over and started shuffling through some of the files, you just perched on your single bed which was nearest you. The room returned to silence. You fiddled with your laces on your trainers until Sam spoke up.
“You organised this yourself?”
“Yeah it was all jumbled and I had some time to spare before you got here so I thought I would try to help”
“Well it certainly does help. So, you think that either the mill house, fire department or cottage is where they went?” Sam asked picking up the map with the recite you had scribbled your theories on.
“It seems most likely”
“Damn seems Bobby was right Sammy we got a smart one with us” Dean said looking up at his brother smirking. “Be careful she may be better than you” Sam rolled his eyes and Dean turned to look at you. “You hungry? I could definitely go get a burger and some pie.”
“Mhm sure.” You said unsure, truth be told you didn’t know if you were hungry. You hadn’t eaten for a while and there was an ache in your stomach, but you didn’t know whether that was from missing food, or your parents.
“Right well let’s go”
So, you went to the small dinner just down the road. You nibbled on some food but didn’t end up eating much. After you returned to the motel the boys settled down re checking the evidence, they ended up agreeing with you, and you sat staring blankly at pages in a book or staring as the small television in the room. You don’t know how long it had been, but you must have fallen asleep because next thing you know you were woken up by the front door closing.
You blinked and looked around the room, the boys were no longer there, the room was empty. It was 7am so you must have slept for a while. Just are you sat up Bobby emerged from the kitchen are with a mug of coffee.
“Morning kid, how do you sleep”
“Hey, and fine thanks, how are you Bobby? When did you get here?” You replied your voice still rough from sleep.
“I’m fine as well and about 5 like I said but I thought it best to let you sleep. The boys have gone out to find your folks now and trust me they are the best hunters I know so they will find them. Now you want anything?”
“F/D if there is any left please”
“Coming right up.” He said and got you your drink.
You sat and did nothing waiting for the boys to come home. 3 hours later you heard the car outside and when they came in the room alone that’s when you knew. That was when you no longer felt numb. Everything around you seemed like it was moving in slow motion. Bobby got up and asked them something, but you couldn’t hear you couldn't focus on the voices.Your suspicions were confirmed when he turned around and headed for your bed with a frown on his face. You had no family. They had gone and now you were completely alone. You were crying and you didn’t rely it until bobby wiped a tear from your face.
“I’m so sorry kid”
You couldn’t reply only stare at him, tears streaming down your face as you tried to process the fact that you would never see them again. That was nearly 4 years ago.
In between then and now you moved in with Bobby as he was your godfather, and he basically became a real father to you. He was very protective of you and you grew really close. Same with the brothers, who became part of your family as well. You weren’t alone, and of course you missed your parents, but your life was good. You had tried to persuade Bobby to let you hunt with the boys, but he wouldn’t allow it until you were 18. That’s when you could start proper training. So, until then your days were filled with helping Bobby out with lore and evidence other hunters needed, he said you had a gift with that, and going to the local church. You didn’t exactly know what you believed in to be honest. But it got you out of the house and Bobby didn’t object. Especially after Dean went to hell and befriended an angel. You had only heard stories of course but they made going to church seem a bit more worth it. And now your sat watching a film with Bobby the day before your 18th birthday. The day you can finally start training and properly helping on hunts.

babe for the weekend - chapter 3
read on ao3 | 1456 words | rated Teen and up audiences for later chapters | Fox Mulder/Dana Scully | Weddings | set in late season 6 | UST | eventual resolved romantic tension
When an old friend from high school invites her to her wedding and she brings Mulder along as her plus one, Scully reflects on her life, her place in the world, how much she has changed and what she really wants.
I originally started this to explore the topic of growing up, aging and feeling like you are missing out within the character of Dana Scully, but it has become so much more than that - but read for yourself!
chapter three
Scully wanted to send thank you notes to her past self for deciding to fly a day early. Used to her weekday work rhythm, she woke up at 7 and after a hot shower – bless this motel and their working boiler, she thought as the warm water ran down her shoulders – she let her hair air dry while reading the next chapter of the book she had started on the plane before styling it. The reception would start at 11, and afterwards there would be a buffet, so she debated whether getting breakfast beforehand was really necessary. Putting on some quick makeup she knocked on the adjoining door between her and Mulder’s bedroom.
“Come in”, she heard his voice from the other side.
He was still in his boxers and the tee shirt from yesterday when she came in. “Good morning”, she said and leaned against the door frame with her arms crossed.
“Morning, Scully”, he answered, shaking out his pillow and blanket.
Catching herself looking at his dishevelled hair for a little too long, she quickly opened her mouth to speak. “I was wondering if you were interested in breakfast today?”
His face lit up and he took a step towards her, but she knew him well, detecting the playfully sarcastic nature of his act. “Oh, you’re inviting me? How very kind of you!”
She laughed, looking down at her feet. Had she made this awkward already? “No, Mulder, I just wanted to ask if you thought it was going to be worth it. We ate dinner so late yesterday and I’m not really hungry right now, and looking at the schedule for the celebration, we’re going to get lunch soon anyway.”
Her eyes went back to him, locking their eyes again as she had done the evening before over their respective plates of chicken salad and fries.
“I’m not that hungry either”, he said. “How about I get dressed and we just go for a little walk?”
She smiled at him, the sun peaking in from the window creating strange shadows on his face. “That sounds like a good idea…I could use some coffee though.”
“Deal”, he said, grabbing a pair of jeans from his overnight bag.
The area was hilly, with sand joining the drying grass beneath the asphalt the closer you got to the beach. Scully was glad to have packed flats along with the heels she planned to wear for the reception.
“Just tell me one thing”, Mulder said as they were sitting on a bench overlooking the promenade, each holding a Styrofoam cup of coffee and the wind blowing her hair into her face (She made a mental note to get back to the motel on time, turning up to the wedding with thick strands sticking from her head to all sides was not a good look).
“Go ahead” Scully wondered if they were sitting closer than usual or if it was the wind blowing his familiar scent over to her.
“How many of the people we’re going to meet today have you been involved with?”
She laughed, thinking about her younger self, wearing braces until she was 17 and always being a little socially awkward, especially compared to Melissa. “Mulder, I don’t know what you think of me, but I can tell you I was not exactly popular in high school”
“That doesn’t answer my question”, he said, grabbing a sunflower seed from his pocket - was that pocket even big enough to hold a bag? - and cracking its little grey shell between his teeth.
She sighed. “There was one guy, Colin, we had chemistry together. He would ask me to help him with his homework, invited me over to his place and all that, and I, naïve and sixteen as I was, thought he was being for real” it sounded so stupid in retrospect.
“What happened, if you don’t mind me asking?”
“Nothing. He was not my type.” She crossed her legs, wondering what her type even was. Tall, dark hair, strong arms, dimples, an unusual interest in the supernatural? Feeling blood rush to her cheeks, she quickly took a sip from her cup hoping her arm would conceal the obvious redness creeping up her face.
“What, are you blushing?”, Mulder grinned softly.
“No I’m not!”, she answered way too quickly. “Anyway it’s not like that. There was another guy, towards the end, I guess. Marcus, his name was. He was really into music, would play me songs by Joy Division on his guitar.”
“A real charmer, I see”
She grimaced, swallowing the last bit of her coffee. “Wasn’t Ian Curtis kind of a jerk though? Anyway” she looked at him, taking a deep breath. “Marcus went on to study psychology if I’m not mistaken. So you two are at least going to have something to talk about in case you meet today.”
Was that weird?, she thought to herself. Implying her past crush and her current- he was not her crush, she reminded herself. Why was she even using this word? Did women have crushes past thirty? Or did you just go on dates and decide to call yourself an item after a certain amount of time? She had been out of the dating game for way too long. Maybe if she started going out with more people again, she would stop having daydreams about people whose relationship with her was supposed to be platonic at most. Outside of high school, college or academy contexts, where would you even meet your crush? At work, a voice inside her head said. Massaging her temples, she realized her thoughts kept spiralling back to one thing, the one thing she had permitted herself access to six years ago.
“Hey”, she heard Mulder say next to her, the source of his soft baritone sounding much closer to her than before. “Are you alright?”
She took a deep breath and sat up straight on the bench as he lay his arm around her, his thumb gently caressing her shoulder. Letting herself sink into his touch, she shook her head. “It’s just weird, the thought of meeting all these people again”, she half lied.
“Shhh, that’s okay”, he said. Not interrupting his movement on her shoulder, he used his other arm to reach over her lap and took her left hand in his right one. After a quick look at her watch, he suggested they go back to the motel and she nodded.
With the help of what felt like almost an entire can of hairspray she got her hair back in place, hoping it would stay over the day, before putting on her dress.
She had chosen a dark brown velvet dress she had found at a thrift shop. It was not particularly revealing, the idea of people who had mostly looked down on her back in the day seeing her exposed shoulders or deep cleavage had seemed intriguing at first, but given a second thought, she realized that it would probably make her uncomfortable in the long run. After putting on a pearl necklace and matching earrings, she felt elegant nonetheless. Dropping her lipstick, her perfume, and her cell phone in her purse, she walked over to Mulder’s door.
As he opened the door, his eyes wandered down her body and his face changed, it was somewhere between a child who was just given his first candy cotton of the year and something darker, that she almost felt he was trying to hide. Had she ever seen him wear this suit before? As weird and clumsy as this man could be, he definitely had his moments. He had styled his hair, the black suit fit him perfectly, complimenting his body in all the right places, and his cologne was just a little stronger than before. Not pungent, but rather…enticing. She stepped a little closer.
“Hi”, he smiled down at her. Was it an illusion, or were his eyes lingering a little longer on her lips than usual?
“We match”, she grinned, lifting her arm to gently touch the brown velvet of his bow tie.
“Yes, we do”, his smile grew even brighter. There was satisfaction now, in his expression, taking over the excitement from before.
She cleared her throat. “We should get going”, she said, turning her face towards the entrance door as if to point at it with her nose.
The venue was only a 15-minute walk away, which they spent in silence, her heart beating loudly against the inside of her chest. Not knowing which explanation she preferred between seeing her old classmates again and Mulder and her walking with their arms linked, she chose to ignore it. This was a completely platonic relationship, mind you.

Oh boy, here we go, Motel California is just full of absolute bullshit. *sigh* let’s get started then.
Read More’s are good for the environment (or so i’ve heard)
Before we start, I wanna let you guys know that I’m just not gonna comment on the Jennifer/Derek scenes. I just. I really honestly cannot do it. I don’t care. No. Also as this is well, this episode, please be advised that there will be extensive suicide mentions.
Thoughts:
I know this is random as hell, but that truck looks like mine. Oh, and look at the date, it’s only like nine years older than mine. nice.
why does it look like he’s nursing an arrow wound on his leg? Is it just me? That doesn’t look like a claw mark.
Can...can I just point out (god, i already need the tag) that....that they’re drawing a DIRECT parallel between this ARGENT HUNTER and Scott with the whole “lifting up the shirt to reveal the bite on their side’ thing? Like, it’s a perfect replica of when scott does it in the first episode. And they don’t do that with the others. Jackson’s bite was just Visible when he got out of the water and we never see Isaac, and Erica’s bites. Boyd’s was a whole sitting down thing on the Zamboni with his hoodie. They didn’t even do the same thing with Victoria ARGENT’s bite. OH and he’s wearing the heirloom necklace from season 1.
Wait, hold up. So, he just got bitten that night, but he’s already gonna shift? What? The bite works that fast?
....he’s from MA? Why tf is he in california? Also, he’s 27 apparently, oof.
Finstock...honey...you ran out of keys when you have like 6 students behind you still.
why is Finstock paying for Allison and Lydia’s room as well? He’s just that nice, or did he honestly forget they aren’t on the track team?
Maybe it’s just the Sterek shipper in me talking, but someone wanna explain why the fuck Stiles would put Derek on the suspect list for HUMAN SACRIFICES? Let alone TWICE? He literally just helped Derek get his pack back and has been working with them the whole time? Why???Would??He???Suspect???DEREK??? OR his sister???
I totally forgot that Scott promised Stiles he would watch Star Wars after they got back to Beacon Hills. SCOTT YOU ASSHOLE COME ON.
yeouch. You’re putting a huge damper on my Stydia brotp here Stiles. jeez.
*Movie trailer voice* He’s a hunter whose family has been torn apart by a human/werewolf war, who refuses to give up the fight against a species his clan has persecuted for centuries. He does weird detective work that makes no sense and looks like a Dark Souls ghost repeat of someone’s death. He insists on ‘staying out of things’ but then follows people around getting mad when things go wrong. Coming this summer, Chris Argent must actually learn.....to get off his ass and help.
WHY DO THEY ALL DO THE CLAW THING??? Yes, they are obviously claw marks. Why the fuck do you need to put your fingers on it?
Honestly, it makes me so sad because STiles is trying okay? Like, Boyd was pissed that Stiles acted like his friend when they never hung out, and STiles is trying to do the chill smalltalk thing, trying to point out things they have in common. He’s trying to MAKE FRIENDS and Boyd is just....uh...possessed? And still getting candy?? Huh?
Honestly, I’d do the same thing Stiles. Get that candy.
Allison, why’d you get in the shower if Lydia wasn’t back with the towels yet? How’re you planning on getting to them? You expect Lydia to come into the bathroom while you’re showering to put one there? #allydia confirmed.
WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS? I ALWAYS FORGET THIS HAPPENED. WHAT THE FUCK?
Okay, okay, look at that adaptation we got going on here. Remember, okay, the last time Allison was harassed sexually (which, holy shit I can’t believe this has happened twice) it was by Jackson, who was possessed by Matt. So when Scott gets super fucking creepy, instead of freaking out, her FIRST instinct is to check if he’s still himself, if he’s okay. She jumps to ‘possessed’ and tries to take care of him WHILE SHE”S NAKED IN THE SHOWER AND BEING CREEPED ON. Which, while absolutely horrendously terrifying, is also an interesting character growth. We get to see how Allison responds to the same situation, but a season later.
Really not a fan of the weird-ass focus they put on this woman’s stoma ( think that’s the word) like...are you seriously trying to make that a part of the ‘horror’ aspect of this episode? For real? what is wrong with you?
So I did the research, and actually, hotels aren’t required to tell anyone about deaths in their rooms. But they also renovate the entire room basically to clean that kind of thing up. Replacing walls and anything that can absorb liquid and even electronics. Oh, the things I google for this research. *sigh*
So, she says “since opening.” So...why does it even matter that an Argent was here? ALSO...why does the wolfsbane whistle matter? Clearly the whistle wasn’t the cause of the last howevermany (apparently 40) years of deaths, so why would it be the cause of these ones?? They gave like fifty different answers to the question of why the wolves (and only the wolves) tried to kill themselves and none of them make sense?
Hey, so...what the fuck even is this possession thing going on? What is it actually doing to these wolves? Why are they getting affected at different times? or did they all get affected at the same time, and the scene with Ethan and Danny is supposed to have been happening at the same time as the bit with Scott and Stiles? Is it supposed to like, make them more impulsive, or just drive them to do what they want to do? Boyd wants some candy, and he will get some candy. Isaac wants to watch tv so he just sits there and clicks through static endlessly. Scott wants to......fuck Allison?
Honestly? Good dad moment here. Chris. Good Dad Moment. I just, feel so bad for Allison. That when it comes down to it, she will always end up lying to her family to save Scott’s ass. Either when they’re dating and her dad wants to kill him for it, or when Scott shows up in her bathroom and grabs her and she can’t possibly tell her dad about it without Scott getting shot.
WHY do they treat that moment like it’s a big shocker that Allison was there? She TOLD her dad she would be going to help them. This shouldn’t be a surprise to him???
....wait how was allison on the phone with her dad, fully dressed and outside, but now she’s in her bra and drying her hair in the bathroom? TIMELINES. TW doesn’t HAVE them.
OKay, so Lydia says it’s only been 40 years, which would mean that the motel was only 6 years old when Alexander Argent died in it. Plus...Lydia literally says that approx. 4 deaths a year is a reasonable number? So...either this place has a lot of suicides, or it doesn’t. WHich one? Also, just because you have the warning at the beginning of the episode doesn’t mean you need to go into such callous detail about the different kinds of suicides that took place. God, that’s so tasteless.
As horrific as this moment is, I feel like I should point out that the behavior/conversation that Lydia hears...it’s nothing like what happened with the wolves. They’re talking about it, clearly nervous. But the wolves are stoic and silent. What? WHAT IS THIS PLOTLINE? IS THE MOTEL causing these suicides somehow, or are the werewolves poisoned by wolfsbane?? THESE ARE TWO DIFFERENT PLOTS. WHICH ONE IS IT?
god, I just..I can’t not point out the contrast here! Lydia is saying she heard two people die in a room across the hall, and after leading Allison there they find an empty room going through renovation. All she has to say is “they were here” and Allison believes her. No hesitation. Stiles’ childhood best friend literally shows up dead and Scott refused to believe a word he said about human sacrifice until Deaton confirmed it. Yet Lydia and Allison have known each other less than a year, and Scott and Stiles are supposed to have been friends for ages.
I just...I hate fisheye lenses. they don’t give me any horror vibes at all, they just look stupid. Personal preference.
Boyd, honey, those things are supposed to have bags in them so they can be reused.
WHAT THE FUCK WAS THIS SCENE? WHAT THE FUCK? WHY WOULD THEY EVER BRING THIS UP JUST TO KILL BOYD OFF LATER? WHY?
Lydia is actually very correct, remember what I said about the renovating?
God, this episode has so much...just horrible shit. I’m gonna fucking ignore it for my own sanity and just focus on how wolfy it is that Isaac wouldn’t want to sleep under the covers at a hotel because it would probably smell. Plus, bare feets. Also, why’d he go to bed so early? Did Boyd go get the ice for him, since he’s sweating so much?
I love that they are roommates.
Okay, I don’t understand. Three more suicides are about to happen. Boyd, Ethan, and I guesss...Scott? So what the fuck was up with Isaac? I just...they’re supposed to like. give into their their worst thoughts or something? Boyd’s guilt about his sister. Ethan’s....something. Scott’s...uh...self-hatred? Or, I think it’s more his lack of self-confidence? He doesn’t hate himself, he just doesn’t think he can keep going. And Isaac’s ingrained guilt of doing the wrong thing? His fear of being useless...I guess? So is it supposed to make them suicidal and Isaac’s a weird case, or does it only do that sometimes, and the rest of the time it just leaves you paralyzed with fear? This makes literally no sense.
Where has Stiles been this entire time?
Uh...that’s not how Alphas work? Just because Derek died, it wouldn’t make Scott an Alpha. Scott didn’t kill him. Even if Derek Was dead, it would’ve been from impact or from the wounds Ennis gave him. In no universe would Scott become an alpha. If it was the impact, Cora would become Alpha, as the next blood relation. If it was Ennis, the Hale Alpha spark would be gone/soaked up by Ennis.
Okay...so, Stiles was in the bathroom brushing his teeth, and he didn’t hear Scott talking to the phone?
*snort* Stiles has a Nokia phone. How much do you wanna bet his dad bought that for him after the Pool Scene because he was trying to make sure Stiles didn’t break another phone?
Did...did Stiles just leave the room with the toothbrush in his mouth?
Okay, I get that this is a teen drama...but why does it have to be so obsessed with 16 and 17 year olds having sex? Seriously? It’s not the common occurrence people think it is? Now, if these were college age people...or, hell, even then it wouldn’t be this fucking common. Seriously. I don’t want eye-candy from someone who’s supposed to be 17 at MOST. Teenagers watching this might like the eye candy, but when I watched this at 17 I STILL was sick of the sexy scenes. Knock it off.
Also. Ethan IS STILL A FUCKING MURDERER.
.....uh....Ethan...do you not understand human anatomy? Giving Danny the bite wouldn’t remove the metal bars in his chest. It might heal the cartilage or whatever, but it wouldn’t REmove the BARS. Oh see that’s just creepy. Wait. OKay, are you telling me that Ethan’s thing that he wants, with this possession thing, is to bite Danny? AND HOW DOES DANNY NOT RESPOND TO THAT? HE’s supposed to know about werewolves, which means he HAS to be getting what Ethan’s going for. WTF?
...what the FUCk kind of voldemort “love and monsters” kinda bullshit was that? What does that have to do with Ethan’s deepest fear/insecurity?
I am...so confused. FIrst off, I love having Allison, Lydia, and Stiles all chillin’ trying to figure things out. THat’s amazing. But how do they know something’s up with Isaac? Also, it contradicts what I was theorizing before when Allison says the last time she saw Scott like that it was a full moon. Now I’m even more creeped out? WHy would they have her fully believe that it’s Scott, and just...let him be a fucking creep? Why would they openly admit that he’s been that terrifying with her before and then just...be chill about it? Also, when did she actually see Scott act like that? When he did it on his second moon Allison never saw him bc Derek tackled him into the woods. When did Scott go all creeper on her? Is this a REgular OCCUrREncE?
I know it was wasn’t intentional, but it’s such an adhd mood for Stiles to see the paper sticking out of the bible and just snatch at it. most people would call that ‘attention to detail’ but like...I just see it as ‘wtf is this, gotta know gotta know” mooood.
Why does Stiles go running to the next room like it’s an emergency, and what is the relevance of these articles in the bibles? LIke, yeah, you knew there were a ton of suicides. How does this help?? God, it’s like they were trying to make it a mini-horror film, but they just suck at understanding what the right order is to put things. FInding those articles should’ve been something that happened at the beginningin order to create a sense of unease, not in the middle of figuring things out!
how exactly did Stiles get the damn door open if it was locked? For that matter, how did Ethan know the handsaw was there? Was he on his way to talk to Lydia and Allison, or was he heading for Scott and Stiles’ room to get help? WHat’s going on???
Thank you Allison for not just Standing There. And Lydia for having a BRAIN. <3
HOW DID STILES HOLD BACK ETHAN? Ethan IS AN ALPHA? HOW?
OKay. I know I said I wouldn’t comment on these scenes with Jennifer, but this is just a general observation. DEREK. YOU HAVE A CELL PHONE. YOU ARE PERFECTLY CAPABLE OF CALLING PEOPLE FROM THE BED.
What...what does that mean Ethan? “You probably shouldn’t have.” WHat?
I know it’s supposed to be for the Allison/Scott angle, but I just love Lydia and Stiles heading to save the pack. *sigh*
I gotta say, I actually really respect Stiles for straight up telling Lydia about the parallels he’s seeing. Rather than hide it from her, he’s trying to get to the root of the problem, point blank and he’s being honest with her about his worries that she might be involved without even knowing it. And she listens and doesn’t get immediately defensive. This communication is SO GOOD. Stydia BROTP.
I’m fucking on the verge of tears. Sinqua, your acting is just...like, you barely speak in this scene and yet your face is just??So pained?
Bare feets. I know I point it out a lot, but like, compared to kali, who keeps her claws out all the time even in like a fucking hospital. It’s so cute to see Boyd and Isaac wandering barefoot in their hotel room. Just, the level of calm it implies, despite the situation. They feel so safe with each other.
ALSO did Boyd go through all of that while Isaac was under the bed?
WAIT WHAT? WHy is Lydia suddenly all pissed off? WHAT? That makes no sense! But then when she says his name, she doesn’t sound upset at all?? WHAT?
ALSO, I thought this was supposed to be about suicides? Why did they add this totally random (and horrific) thing? It has nothing to do with BoYD! JUST BECAUSE YOU PUT A TRIGGER WARNING DOESN”T MEAN YOU NEED TO MUSH AS MUCH FUCKED UP SHIT AS POSSIBLE INTO ONE EPISODE. GOD. It’s like those people who assume just because they’re allowed to do R rated shit, they have to have random sex scenes in their tv show.
where did Scott get gasoline? Like...where?
God fucking damn it, how fucking demonizing can you get, fucking juxtapositioning Scott’s suicidal monologue about Derek suffering and being dead, then jumping to Derek fucking someone instead of telling anyone he’s alive? What the fuck is wrong with these people? Why is it literally ANY TIME Stiles or Derek are in some way happy (NOT that I’m considering Derek at that moment in time Happy or in any way okay) they always make it out to be the most horrible thing ever? It’s like I said before, Stiles smiling on the field because he actually gets to play lacrosse? Jackson’s about to die. Stiles happy because he’s going to play a game in class? His best friend is missing. Derek....I’m not even going to give what’s going on a name. But then they just layer that over Scott...what even is he doing? Everyone else actually tried to kill themselves. Why is he just...standing there? Are they seriously trying to make the claim that his strength of will is so strong he’s the only one could can hold out against the...whatever the fuck is causing this? Jesus fucking christ do you have to turn him into Jesus every time? SERIOUSLY?
YOU DIDN”T THOUGH. SCOTT YOU LITERALLY REFUSED TO FIGHT BACK. YOU PLANNED A RENDEVOUS WITH DEUCALION BEHIND EVERYONE’S BACK BECAUSE YOU INSISTED FIGHTING BACK WAS WRONG. YOU WOULD HAVE BEEN MURDERED IN COLD BLOOD IF DEREK AND THE OTHERS HADN”T COME TO FIND YOU.
...I get that this is supposed to be an emotional moment, but why the fuck does Scott’s monologue about how much he sucks have to drag Stiles down with him? Stiles was literally always good at lacrosse. He never got ‘better’ before being put on the field. You saying that the both of you were ‘nothing’ is a terrible, horrible thing to say because you’re implying that because Stiles didn’t get the bite like you did, the only thing that makes him more than nothing is being your friend. How does Scott manage to be a total asshole even when he’s in the middle of explaining why he wants to die?
AGAIN WITH THE RANDOM PLOTLINES. DAVIS WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU? IS THE HOTEL HAUNTED, OR IS THE WHISTLE FULL OF WOLFSBANE OR IS THE DARACH ACTIVELY MAKING THEM KILL THEMSELVES? WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON? ANd why would the Darach be making them kill themselves?? THey don’t match any of her sacrifice requirements! This makes no sense with the plotline you follow for the rest of the season!
WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS SCENE? Scott was NOWHERE NEAR Ethan? WHY THE FUCK DID HE GIVE SCOTT THE CREDIT FOR SAVING HIS LIFE? And why would he thank him for it, when he told Stiles he shouldn’t have been saved? WHAT IS GOING ON?
Also, why does Ethan have like, a bruise thing on his cheek? Is that...is that a skin thing, or like, a show thing?
This doesn’t solve the problem of Allison’s car being stuck with an empty tank at the side of the road halfway to Beacon Hills.
dude. you realize that was literally 34 years ago? Deucalion would have to be like 50. and even then he would’ve been a fucking 16 year old Alpha. So that makes Deucalion more likely in his 60s. Also, why the fuck do you care Chris? This is such a random fucking thing. It makes no sense. What the fuck does it matter now?
Last Thoughts: What the fuck even is this episode? It’s like this steaming dumpster fire of half-assed ideas and loose ends to plots we’ll never see and really shitty horror movie vibes. We’re talking D List or maybe E list horror movies. I’m honestly disgusted? I can’t remember the last time I had to watch something so tasteless and cruel and insensitive in every single way?
.....on to the next episode, I guess. God, I need to change all of this in the rewrite, and I don’t know if I can actually make it good?

Episode 2x04 - What if God Was One of Us
EPISODE SUMMARY:
AN ACT OF GOD — On the verge of a breakthrough in her quest to save Max (Nathan Dean), Liz (Jeanine Mason) turns to Kyle (Michael Trevino) for one last favor that could potentially land him in hot water. Meanwhile, Michael (Michael Vlamis) and Alex’s (Tyler Blackburn) investigation into Nora (guest star Kayla Ewell) leads them to a farm, where they meet a historian named Forrest (guest star Christian Antidormi). Elsewhere, Cameron (guest star Riley Voelkel) confronts Jesse Manes (Trevor St. John) about her sister’s whereabouts, and Isobel (Lily Cowles) uses her powers for good. Amber Midthunder also stars. Shiri Appleby directed the episode written by Steve Stringer & Christopher Hollier (#204). Original airdate 4/6/2020.
DETAILS:
Roy said that he took veterinary training, which is how he was able to help with Louise and Nora's injuries.
"How come it feels like you don't know what I'm saying, but you know what I'm thinking?"
Roy moved the truck (with the pods in it?) to the livery.
"Boss's wife won't let him blame the drought on God so that honor goes to his foreman -- that's me."
Kyle on The Science:
"You're telling me that Michael Guerin used pinball parts and a car battery to cause cutaneous perfusion?
(Cutaneous perfusion...i think it is circulation of fluid/blood through tissue, but it's a bit above my head)
The device Liz needs is a "Personal Genome Machine". She ordered it when she still worked at the hospital.
Before entering the Crashdown, Graham Green tapes a Missing sign on the door for Hank Gibbons (who Noah killed in 1x13).  Apparently someone covered it up.
The sign is HARD to read, but I think it says:
"All viable leads reported to Graham Green's UFO Emporium will receive a free keychain.  Make certain you subscribe to the Weekly Probe as we dive deeper into the untold stories of Roswell and answer the question on everyone's mind.  ARE YOU NEXT?"
Tumblr media
Graham Green references that he's the "creator of last week's 39th most downloaded true crime podcast." (Assuming that this is the Weekly Probe, referenced on the poster).
Graham Green is opening a 1947 themed malt shop at the UFO Emporium
U.F. Doughs (the Crashdown's new donuts).
Isobel's been coming to the Crashdown every day for weeks.  (Note that this episode is the first one that really doesn't have a clear time context).
"Feliz cumpleanos, mama!" Happy birthday in Spanish, of course, but note Kyle's choice term of endearment for fic purposes!  And she responds in kind "Gracias, mijo!" (Mijo = male version. Arturo calls Liz mija = female version)
"A wild Michael Guerin finally emerges from his weeks-long hibernation in a lab and a library."
Again, non-specific time frame.
"When every other farm was struggling, the Longs experienced record-breaking crops.  Summer of '47. No one could explain it…till October '48. The day after that photo ran in the paper, the farm was devastated by a massive fire.  Foreman, entire staff killed. Whole place burned down."
"What caused the fire?"
"Well the paper called it an act of God.  Said it was a freak storm. Bolt of lightning strikes the barn the same night that my mom's caught and locked up in Caulfield."
Wyatt Long's horses are named "Diamond" and "Silk".
Jesse Manes' beer of choice is "Polestaff".
Cam's postcard from Charlie (Likely the reason she came back to Roswell) says:
"See you back in Roswell --Charlotte"
Top left corner says "Greetings from Roswell, NM".
It was mailed to Jenna at the Green Hill Motel in Dayton, Ohio.
Jenna says it's not Charlie's handwriting.
Tumblr media
Isobel in the mindwarp: "And what's your dream, Arturo? What would be your miracle? What do you pray for?"
Arturo & Rosa's fight…
"Did that fool give you drugs? I'll kill him!"
"Ow! You're hurting me! That's child abuse!"
"Everything I do I do to hold you up and you see it as abuse. I don't know what to do anymore!"
"Yeah right." Rosa falls down and laughs.
"This isn't funny! Sheriff Valenti won't give you any more chances."
"You should be happy. You wanted me to be on the field hockey team, remember? You said I should make friends and have good American fun."
"Who sold you the pills?"
"I stole them."
"Was it Frederico?"
"You wouldn't believe me."
"Tell me the truth!"
"It was Mom! She's either too high to notice that they're missing, or she knows and she doesn't care."
"You're lying to me. I don't know how to help you."
"So stop trying then. I'm beyond hope anyway, right? That's what everyone else in this town thinks."
"Maybe you're right. I'm going for a drive."
Arturo tried to register with Instagram as PancakePapi!! He ended up with PancakePapi58!
Scene with Steph and her dad...FIRST MENTION OF SOPAPILLAS ON THE SHOW!!! 🤤🤤🤤🤤 (They're the best...in New Mexican restaurants they're like, both an appetizer and a dessert.  They're like hollow fried bread that you eat with honey. Delicious.)  See here:
Tumblr media
Plus it gave the show another opportunity to be authentically New Mexican through food references.  (Last season it was in episode 2 when Arturo asked,"red or green?" And Liz replied "Christmas!". In New Mexico that means half red half green chile smothering her plate.) Like so:
Tumblr media
1948...unclear how much time has passed, but Louise says months.
The kid's name is Walt.  (Walt Long?? Some other last name?).
Nora says that under the tarp is the "pumpkin launcher" and it's a surprise.
Nora says it's not safe for Michael here, "but soon."
"Hey do you smell that? It smells like rain.  It's what you smell like under all the grease and bourbon.  It's what your workshop smells like. Something alien happened here. Not that I can still smell it 70 years later."
"This is the best evidence I've seen that Max and Isobel's mother survived the initial firefight. This is something that you do with family."
"Nora's my mother. If she was here at the same time as Louise…"
Note - when did they confirm who Louise was or that she was Max & Isobel's mom? This has not happened narratively yet.
Since Walt was a young kid, Alex thinks there's a chance he's still alive (though at the end Nora definitely thought he died when the barn blew up. I suspect that Walt survived and is the key to the story...not fact, just speculation.)
Forrest: "The foreman, Roy Bronson, was definitely hiding something.  But it wasn't Little Green Men. It was Nazi spies."
"This is like Junior Year eraser room, getting caught by Coach Wiggins."
OG callback to the eraser room being the high school makeout spot. OG, "the eraser room takes our innocence."
Rosa in Spanish "¿En serio?" Basically "are you serious!?!" Or "really?" When the blender shorts out (awfully similar to her first Noah nightmare in 2x01)
"...when Charlie told me she had stole classified documents, I reported her.  I thought I was doing the right thing and the military put her in prison."
"Right. Where she was safe."
"No. I… I didn't know who she really was when I turned her in. I didn't know what prison would do to her."
"She wanted you to turn her in, Jenna. She set you up to do so. She knew that as long as she was in government custody no one could get to her."
"Charlie fought in two wars.  Who was she afraid of?"
"A private securities firm, most likely.  You know that I met her? She was working on this genetic sequencing project that had the potential to save lives, but also destroy them. And there were some people out there who saw applications for her research that went beyond her intentions."
"She was doing research that could help save lives, and people wanted to use it to create a bioweapon."
"Well yeah, she created this pathogen that could seek out and dismantle specific sequences. Just think about it -- a smart bomb that could be detonated in the middle of a crowded city, only harm it's intended target. Think about the innocent civilian lives saved while you take out leaders of terrorist organizations."
"Or commit genocide. If her work fell into the wrong hands, it could quietly wipe out entire groups of people because they share a certain genetic code, while their neighbors go about living their lives.  Why do you know so much about this? What's your interest in my sister?"
"I believed that I had a use for her pathogen, at one time. But my fight is over now."
A few notes about this exchange.
Clearly Charlie's pathogen is the key ingredient in the smart bomb that Flint was developing, as discussed in 1x12.
Liz's "personal genome machine" can break down the alien genetics and give Project Shepherd what they need to use a smart bomb on the aliens.
Don't forget, her lab is protected by Air Force security set up by "Alex's team". (Badbadbadbad!)
Rosa describing her bipolarism.
"I get these mood swings sometimes. Like, I can be happy and singing one minute, and then, all of a sudden, this darkness just closes in over me, and I have all these voices telling me that I'm worthless."
Jesse gives Cam the name of the security firm looking for Charlie.  We don't see the name of it. He warns her to be careful. "I may be hobbled but they are not."
"Now, you were hunting aliens, and I gave you Max's name. Why didn't you lock him up in Caulfield with the rest?"
"I don't know.  I guess I feel like there's a story unfolding in Roswell. Has been for more than 50 years.  You can't blame me for wanting to see how it ends."
Catherine Zeta-Jones in a laser maze -- Liz is referencing the 1999 movie Entrapment.
Liz trying to science-intrigue Kyle….
"Interesting historical footnote. There was an internment camp in Roswell. Nazi POWs built half this city.  Hence the iron crosses. My great-great grandfather BoDean's foreman got busted for hiding a couple of women here. According to him 'A couple Nazi spies escaped and strudeled their schnitzel for room and board right here on this very farm.  See, I was never really as into shooting squirrels as Wyatt is, so, when I came out here for summers as a kid, my cousin Kate and I -- we'd prowl the property for artifacts."
"You know, what we're doing you and me -- it doesn't only have to be for Max...once Max is healthy, we could use this genome machine to Target cellular apoptosis.  I mean, we could craft polymerase sequencing in human DNA. We don't have to stop. We have no boards, no restrictions…"
Apoptosis is also sometimes referred to as "cellular suicide" or "spontaneous single cell death".
Polymerase is like the building blocks of DNA.
In other words, Liz is really, really smart.
FORREST LONG!!!!!! 😂😂😂.
Alex on the bullet shells: "These match the M1917s the airmen used in '48.
"They were scattered all over the property. Legend has it the Nazis we're building some kind of bomb in the barn. Then one night the Air Force showed up."
"The night of the fire."
"The blaze burned so hot it turned sand to stone. Papers say that lightning struck the barn and everyone died in the flames, but...that's bull.  See I think the Air Force covered up the massacre that happened when they discovered that weapon.
Tumblr media
A few things on this scene…
Forrest mentions his cousin Kate...Wyatt's sister who was murdered by Noah in 2008.  So Forrest is Wyatt Long's cousin.
Substitute Nazi for alien and it's probably all based somewhat based in truth.  In the 1940s that definitely would have been a reasonably obvious way to cover it up, especially given the history that Forrest cites and the military culture in Roswell.
Note: POW = prisoner of war
The iron crosses Forrest references…
Article on the German POWs in the Roswell Daily Record…
Walt was hiding in the barn when Tripp made it explode.  Explosion looked shimmery, like the alien ship & tech.
Also, more info than you ever wanted to know about the Roswell Army Air Field/Walker Air Force Base/Roswell International Air Center...including some info on the POWs.
Sheriff Valenti's theory on Noah's death:
"I think Max Evans poisoned Noah and left him in the desert the night of the lightning storm, and I think Isobel Evans was in on it."
Kyle says it would take gallons of acetone to poison someone.
Tripp was Alex's great uncle
Nora was working on a ship to take the pods home.
Tumblr media
TRIPP MANES!!!  Full name is Eugene Manes III.
Alex finally gives Michael the piece of alien ship he's had.  He doesn't want to be another Manes man standing in Michael's way.
Cam's voicemail to Liz.
"Got a lead on my sister.  Give me a call when you get that tin-star-wearing E.T. awake, so I can curse him out for worrying us all. Good luck Liz. Bring Max home."
Arturo's Spanish to Liz and Rosa.
"Das gracias a Dios.  Gracias todos los dias."
Translates generally to "Thank God.  Thanks every day."
Isobel's monologue at the end:
"The idea of God always freaked me out. Like, apparently he made people in his own image, which, first of all, get over yourself. And also, does that apply to us? Does every planet have its own God? Let's say that we're all clones of the big guy in the sky. Well then, doesn't it stand to reason that we're all capable of slinging light? Well I guess by that same token we're all capable of tremendous wrath. We're walking contradictions. A never-ending mercurial rise and fall. Darkness and light. I guess the real miracle is choosing the light. Despite the ever-present darkness. Look at us. You're in the middle of a downright biblical desert, galaxies from where we started. I mean, our very existence is a miracle. I'm capable of so much more than I thought I was, Max. I really think that maybe I could do great things. I need you to come back, okay? I need you to be the thing that I can believe in. That doesn't let me down. I just need this one little miracle, and I promise I won't ever ask for anything ever again."

Escape- pt 8
pt 1. pt 2. pt 3. pt 4. pt 5. pt 6. pt 7.
Jane Seymour has stayed with Henry long enough. Cue Catherine of Aragon and the rest of the girls to save her.
Jane finds herself in a situation that is going to affect the whole household.
A month later, Henry was still nowhere to be found. Everywhere he went, he was unrecognized. The case still hadn’t made it out of the state, so anywhere he traveled out of state was safe for him. At this point, Henry had lived out of several motels and hadn’t been caught or suspected in any way. One day though, he was watching the news and saw his face appear on the television.
“Mr. Henry Tudor is now on the loose after chasing his ex-fiancee from her hometown. Miss Jane Seymour is at an unannounced residence for protection. If you have any information on this-” Henry’s fist collided with the screen and shattered it. “Fucking bitch!” He shrieked in anger and pain.
“Thomas, determined to find Jane and save her, had begun searching for her on his own. After she so abruptly hung up on him, he had to make sure she was okay. It hadn’t crossed his mind that it seemed suspicious that he was asking her where she was, considering he was best friends with the man she was running from.
“Yeah, Henry really fucked this up big time. She’s finally going to be mine,” he laughed to himself spitefully.
Meanwhile, Jane and Catherine fell into a routine with the other women. Everyday, Jane would wake up at seven and make breakfast despite the other’s protests.
“Jane, you really don’t have to wake up to make us all breakfast before work.”
“I’m always up this early anyway,” she would insist. “And I like cooking. It’s really no trouble.” The other women knew it was Jane’s way of contributing since she couldn’t exactly get a job considering she was in hiding.
On this day, Jane was awake at seven, as per usual, but a sudden wave of nausea hit her. She swallowed it and made her way down to the kitchen. The pungent smell of the eggs she was cooking was becoming too much for her. Gagging, she ran to the bathroom, pounding on Cathy’s door in the process.
“Eggs on burner,” she choked out before running into the bathroom and barely making it to the toilet before emptying the contents in her stomach.
“Catherine?” Cathy knocked on the bedroom door that the two women shared.
“Hmm?” She sighed sleepily.
“Jane’s puking in the bathroom. Do you want to handle that or the eggs she was cooking?” Catherine bolted out of bed and ran to the bathroom faster than her cousin had ever seen her move.
“Jane?” She pushed the door open. “Are you okay?” She sat down next to the blonde and rubbed her back soothingly.
“Mhmm,” Jane moaned. “Just a little sick is all. Why don’t you start getting ready for work? I’ll be out by the time you need in.”
“That’s definitely not what I was worried about,” Catherine snorted. “Seriously, if you need someone to look after you, I can call out.”
“Whoever is in the bathroom, I need to get in there! Hurry up!” Anne’s shrill voice could be heard on the other side of the door.
“Not now Anne,” Catherine huffed.
“We’ll be out in a few minutes,” Jane called weakly.
“You two are in there together? Is it sexy ti-”
“Now is not the time Anne.”
“Are you two okay?” Kat’s voice was small and timid, but the amount of care that was conveyed was what mattered.
“She’s just a little sick is all.”
“I can go and get some crackers and ginger ale if you want them Jane?”
“That would be really nice Kat. Thank you honey.”
“Are you going to be okay if I go to work today?”
“I’m sure I’ll be just fine Lina. Go get ready for work.”
Catherine sighed, “If you’re sure.” As she passed Kat in the hallway, the two briefly conversed.
“Are you-”
“I’m off of work every Friday Cath. I’ll make sure she’s okay.”
“Thank you Kat. I appreciate it.”
“Anything for Jane.” The pink haired woman knocked on the bathroom door and poured a cup of mouthwash.
“Here. You might want this.” She handed the cup to the blonde who took it gratefully.
“If you have things you need to do Kat, I’ll be alright by myself. Henry never really took care of me when I was sick.”
“I have off work every Friday. I can make sure you’re taken care of. Well, if you want.”
“I don’t think I’d mind the company.” The two settled on the couch, and Jane quickly drifted back to sleep.
Hours later, Jane was still asleep.
“Hey I’m on my lunch break. Thought I’d stop by and see how Seymour’s doing.” Anna plopped herself on the couch next to the pink and blonde haired women.
“Dude, other than when her head’s in the toilet, she’s been dead asleep.”
Anna felt Jane’s forehead. “She’s not running a fever or anything. I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s pregnant. No fever, she’s been exhausted for a while now, add throwing up to the mix.” Kat looked at her in confusion. “Morning sickness?” Anna tried.
“Oh. Maybe.” Kat mulled over the possibility. Jane shot up quickly and bolted to the bathroom. Katherine followed behind quickly and held the blonde hair up to avoid getting vomit in her hair.
Sunday came around when something occurred to Jane. She was a week late.
“Catalina? I’m going to the store. Do you need anything?”
“I’ll just go with you,” the older woman yelled as she grabbed their coats. Helping Jane into her jacket, she questioned what her friend needed. Jane avoided the question and opened the door.
“Shit!” Jane cried. “What the hell?”
“Jane?” Catherine called from outside the bathroom stall at the grocery store. “Are you okay?”
“Just shut up!” the blonde screamed. “Just go! I’ll find my way home!” She stared at the three sticks in her hand, a plus sign on all of them. She pushed open the stall door and went straight past her friend. “I’m pregnant,” she huffed, already out of the bathroom. Catherine was shocked. She didn’t make a move.
“Get it together woman,” she sighed, shaking her head and chasing after Jane, who chose to ignore her. The two had reached their newly shared car when she finally spoke.
“Jane, what are you talking about? You’re pregnant?”
“Yes,” she shot daggers at her friend with her eyes. “Now let me in the car before I decide to walk home by myself.” Catherine quickly unlocked the car door.
The newly pregnant woman called the local doctor’s office and was able to make an appointment tomorrow for a blood test. She called her mother.
“Mom, I took three tests. I’m pregnant... Well I’m pretty sure three tests aren’t all going to come up as false positives! I know Mom, I’m keeping it... Yes, I was able to be squeezed in for an appointment tomorrow.... Okay, I love you too, bye.” She looked down at her hands when she hung up.
“So I’m pregnant.”
“It seems that way,” Catherine muttered, not quite sure what to say.
“Because as usual, I fucked up and-”
“No,” the hispanic tried to assure her. “You didn’t, but we do have to figure out what you’re going to do now.”
“Well I’m really not sure.”
“You said you’re keeping it right?” Jane nodded.
“Well we have that figured out, so it’s a step in the right direction.”
“I guess you’re right. But this makes everything so much harder now. I’ll have to tell Beale eventually too.”
“Just when things were starting to get easier,” Catherine mumbled to herself as she drove out of the parking lot.
“John!” Margaret yelled. “Janey called.”
“Oh yeah?” He made his way to his wife.
“She’s pregnant.” Betty’s eyes filled with tears of sorrow. She had always thought the day her daughter would come home announcing she was pregnant it would be a joyous occasion. That wasn’t the case. Her daughter was impregnated by a monster.
“Shit. It’s Henry’s?”
“Well, yeah. I mean, it can’t be Cath’s if that’s what you’re getting at.” Margaret cracked a smile.
“Hey, you-”
“John!” Margaret stopped him. “Speaking of those two: they never got together. I think after ten years, I won the bet. Pay up.” She simply placed her hand out.
“You always know how to lighten the mood, but just you wait,” he chuckled. “Just you wait.” John took his wife’s hand and kissed it.
The two friends were sitting in their bedroom when Jane broke down.
“Beale said we need to lay low and stay put. How the fuck am I supposed to do this? I’m putting so many people in danger by staying here. Am I doing the right thing? Should I just go back?”
“No way in hell am I letting you go back to that,” Catherine stated firmly.
“Jane, don’t lose your head. You’re staying with us. We’re all here for you.” Anne spoke up from the doorway where the other girls had been standing for quite some time now.
“Are you ready to be here for a baby too?”
“What?”
“I’m pregnant,” Jane said flatly.
“We’re going to love you through it. Dinner’s ready by the way.” Anna spoke up.
“How is this baby supposed to grow up without a father?” Jane began to panic. She hadn’t even thought of that until right then.
“Your baby doesn’t need Henry. It has you,” Cathy tried. “And us,” Kat spoke up.
“All your baby needs is us six. That’s more than enough love than Henry could ever give,” Cathy affirmed before turning on her heel and making her way back to the kitchen quickly. She returned with miraculously balancing six plates of dinner for the group.
All of the girls stayed with Jane and Catherine that night, knowing Jane was going to need all the support she could get that night. Jane fell asleep sandwiched in between Kat, who was becoming more and more like her surrogate daughter despite the fact that she was only a few years older than the pink haired woman, and Catherine, the woman she knew she should’ve ended up with.

This is a dark! Winchester AU
John’s wires got a little crossed when his wife Mary was murdered. So maybe he didn’t raise his three children right. But after all I've said, please don't forget
The  music was loud, bass thumping in your chest as your body swayed and gyrated on the dance floor.  Bodies brushed against each other as the crowd writhed to the beat like one large moving entity.  Your eyes were closed, arms raised in the air as your hips swung from side to side.  Your head fell back as you lost yourself to the thrum of the music, the rest of the world disappeared in the moment.
"Damn, would you look at her. Fucking hot as hell." Blue eyes drank in your body as it moved on the crowded dance floor.
"Yeah, Y/n is something else."  A smirk curled Sam's lips as he sat at the bar next to your admiring stranger, his own eyes were already glued to your body, watching  your every move with interest.
The man beside Sam startled at Sam's comment not expecting a response to his rhetorical statement.  In fact, he hadn't meant to give voice to his thoughts in the first place.
"Uh, she with you?" The blonde haired man asked with uncertainty in his voice as his eyes left your body to glance in Sam's direction. Even sitting Sam towered over the other man.
"Nahh." Sam chuckled as he brought his beer bottle to his lips.  "She's my brother's."
As if on cue thick arms wrapped around your waist and pulled you back against a solid wall of muscled flesh.  Dean's head dipped to the curve of your neck, placing one soft chaste kiss against your damp sweat covered skin as his body began to move behind you.  His large hands moved to grip at your grinding hips, pulling you back tighter to his body as he moved with you.  Your arms reached up behind you and circled Dean's neck, fingertips danced through the back of his hair as you shamelessly ground back against him.
"Looks like you have an admirer sweetheart." Dean purred against your ear as he locked eyes on the blonde haired blue eyed man at the bar who was still staring at you.
"Yeah?" Your eyes fluttered open to scan the general direction that Dean had you facing.  Your eyes landed on Sam first and your lips curled into a smile as he shot you a wink.
"Yeah.  Blondie over there is practically drooling on himself."  Dean chuckled against your ear as his hands moved from your hips to carress down the outside of your thighs until his fingers found flesh below the short hem of your denim skirt.  "What do you say princess, you want to play tonight?"  His fingers dug into the soft flesh of your thighs, blunt nails raked over your skin as he drug his hands up higher, making your already short skirt hitch higher on your legs, almost showing the soft pink lace hidden beneath.
You shuddered at the feel of his rough hands on your skin and the deep timber of his voice against your ear.  You spun in his arms, pressing tight to his hard body as your hips rolled to his and his hands gripped at your rounded ass.
"I always want to play De." A mischievous grin spread across your face.
"That's my girl." Dean chuckled.  His fingers dug into the soft flesh of your ass giving the globes a hard squeeze as he kissed the tip of your nose.
Dean's hands left your ass to take your hands in his as he turned and lead you both over to the bar.  You smiled as you reached Sam, sliding an arm around his waist and giving him a hug as he dipped his head and placed a kiss to your temple.
"I saw you watching my girl." Dean raised an eyebrow as he locked eyes with the blonde man.
The man's face fell and he stuttered over his words while shifting nervously on his bar stool now that he faced the towering wall that was Dean. "Well I, um, I..."
Dean laughed and you giggled at the man's nervousness.  "It's cool man." Dean smirked and clapped the guy on his shoulder making him flinch.  "I don't mind.  I mean look at her.  She's gorgeous."  Dean turned his jade eyes to you as his hand moved automatically to gently cup your face, his thumb ran lightly over the flushed skin of your cheek as he smiled down at you.
"She is definitely beautiful." the blonde added as his own lust filled eyes turned back to you.
It didn't take long for you to find out your admirer was already more than a little intoxicated, his name was Randy, and he was just passing through Kansas on his way to the coast.
"I'm staying at the motel across the street." Randy smiled at you with hope filled eyes.  "Maybe we can head over there and continue this little party."
A grin curled your lip gloss coated lips and you ran your fingertips down Randy's chest teasingly, feeling his muscles tense at your touch. "Hmm, that sounds like fun." You practically purred as you batted your long lashes at him.
"So, Randy why don't you head on over to your room and we'll meet you there after we settle our tab?" Dean smiled as he pulled you in against his side possessively.
"Yeah." He grinned a lopsided grin at you before Dean's words had a real chance to register but once they did Randy began to stutter. " Wait.  What? A-all...all of you?" Randy's eyes went wide as he looked between you, Sam, and Dean.
"Well Randy, if I am going to be nice enough to let you have a go at my girl then I am sure you won't mind if me and my brother watch." Dean huffed before bringing his beer up to his lips.  "Plus what kind of man would I be if I didn't make sure she was safe. I mean you could be some psycho."  He added with a smirk on his full lips.
"Um, yeah." Randy looked hesitant but finally sucked in a breath and nodded his head, all it took was a look at your sultry grin and the way your tongue darted out to drag over your bottom lip to convince him it was a good idea to invite three strangers to his room. "Yeah, okay.  That seems fair."
Dean's palms itched, he wanted a fight.  He wanted to pummel this douchebag who had the nerve to covet what was his.  But, Dean didn't get what he wanted.  Randy went down without any fight.  He was too wrapped up in his lust for you to see the trap that was so obviously laid out for him.  He was too easy to get on the bed on his back.  It had been a simple task to get his arms above his head so Sam could tie him to the headboard.
It was only once Randy was tethered that reality started to sink in and his drunken brain caught up to the severity of the situation.
"You really are stupid.  Aren't ya Randy?" Dean laughed darkly as he stared down at the man's panic filled gaze. "You really thought I would let you touch what's mine?"
"Please." Randy begged as tears streamed down his flushed cheeks.  "Please don't kill me.  I'm sorry."  His eyes darted from Dean's cold emerald eyes to the shiny glint of steel held in Dean's hand.
"Oh I'm not going to kill you." Dean's mouth quirked up in a sinful smirk and relief instantly washed across Randy's features.  "She is."  Dean nodded in your direction where you stood at the foot of the bed slowly peeling off your clothing piece by piece.
"Please. Please don't do this. I'll do anything." Randy began to protest and panic once more as you climbed your naked body over his clothed form until you were sitting on his lap.
"He's all yours princess." Dean grinned at you as he placed the large chef's knife into your smaller hand.  His lips crashed against yours as you curled your fingers around the hilt while Dean kissed you until you were breathless.  "Make us proud baby."  He whispered against your lips before pulling back and settling his body beside Randy's head against the head board so he had a close-up view of the action.
Your body shivered in anticipation as you gripped the knife in your hand.  Your eyes moved from Dean to Sam, who mirrored his brother's body on the other side of the bed.  Both men stared at you with hungry eyes as you sat unashamedly bare on your victim.
"Remember baby, not too deep.  You want to make it last." Sam grinned at you, pride evident in his eyes and you nodded enthusiastically in response.
It only took a flick of your wrist to slice through the thin t-shirt that separated Randy's bare skin from you.  You peeled the ruined fabric away and your fingers danced over the unmarred flesh that was revealed.  He was like a blank canvas that was begging to be painted and you were more than eager to begin.
The knife was sharp, Dean always made sure of that, so the first slice was like cutting through butter.  You felt the first surge of pleasure course through you as you watched the line of crimson appear on his pale skin.  You moaned as the red rivulet ran across his flesh while Randy cried out in pain.
Every cut that split open his flesh sent a wave of arousal through you that settled at your core. You soon found yourself rolling your hips, grinding down against Randy's denim covered crotch.  The scratchy feel of the rough fabric against your bare slit fueled your desire but did nothing to scratch the itch.
The next carving of skin was right down the middle of his chest, this cut deeper.  The blood seeped freely to pool against Randy's sternum and the man screamed under you.
"Shut up." Dean scowled as he looked down at your captive.  "Take it like a man." Dean gave Randy a hard glare and a harder slap to his cheek.
"Please, please stop." Randy sobbed and pleaded as you continued to carve random patterns into his once pristine flesh.  "I'll do anything, please.  You can have all my money.  I won't tell anyone, just please stop." Randy began to blubber.
"Jesus, shut this fucker up Sammy."  Dean rolled his eyes as he looked over at his brother.  "He is ruining my hard on."
Sam chuckled and pushed up from his reclined position to grab a dirty sock from the motel room floor.  With a smirk he easily shoved the smelly garment into Randy's mouth muffling the man's cries.
You couldn't stop the wicked grin from curling your lips or the grind of your hips as you looked from brother to brother.  Their eyes were locked on you, pupils blown as they stared hungrily at you as you played.  A moan spilled from your lips as your hips pressed down harder to the squirming man trapped beneath you.  The rough denim of his jeans created sweet friction against your slick folds as you ground shamelessly against him.
You were no longer concerned with the pattern you had been intricately drawing in Randy's flesh instead you were making random cuts and stabs into his skin as your eyes stayed glued to Sam and Dean.  A needy whine pushed its way up your throat as you watched Sam adjust the thick outline of his cock in his jeans just as Dean's tongue slipped from between his teeth to roll against his full bottom lip.
You whimpered as you continued to roll your lower body against the man beneath you.  Your body felt like it was on fire, watching the fear dance across Randy's face mixed with the wet scarlet lines that painted his body had your own body vibrating with need.  You were growing more frustrated by the second.  Your slick core clenched and fluttered around nothing with every stab as you slid the knife home into his chest.
"What's the matter baby girl?" Dean's lust blown eyes locked on yours as your face scrunched up with your growing need.  "You need something?"
"I wanna cum De, please." You whined as you made a long shallow gash across Randy's abdomen.
Dean and Sam both chuckled but it was Dean who moved from his spot.  He rose up to his knees at your side, reaching out to gently brush the loose hair from your face.  "Always such a needy little girl." Dean cooed as he moved until he was kneeling behind you.
Dean wrapped his arms around your middle as he pressed the hard line of his body to your back.  A groan bubbled up in your throat as you felt his breath against the shell of your ear while one of his strong hands groped at your breast. He pulled and pinched at your hard nipple until you were squirming harder against him.
"Dean please." Your voice came out as a breathy whine as Dean rutted his thick bulge against the soft flesh of your ass.
"God I love watching you like this princess." Dean almost growled against your ear before his lips trailed hot wet kisses down the curve of your neck to your shoulder.  "So fucking hot."
Dean's dick was hard as steel trapped beneath the tight confines of his jeans as he ground against the soft flesh of your ass.  Watching you work some random guy over always got him unbelievably hard.  It was the look in your eye, that sparkle, that glint of insanity that drove him wild.  Mix that with the mischievous grin on your face and the almost girlish giggles that spilled from your lips as you sank the knife into flesh and Dean was done for.
"Dean." You whined once more as you pushed back against the hard length of him and his teeth raked across the skin of your shoulder.  "I need it."
Dean grinned as he peered over your shoulder at Randy, his dark gaze locked on the man's wide eyes as he spoke again. "Want your big brother to fuck you baby sis? Is that what you need?  Need your big brother's cock inside that tight little pussy?"
Dean didn't think Randy's eyes could get any wider but he was wrong.  The look on Randy's face was priceless as Dean's words registered in his addled brain. His reaction made Dean huff a soft laugh before his mouth went back to work on your soft skin.
"Yes Dean please, please fuck me." You reached back with one hand, fingers tunneling through your brother's hair as your other hand jabbed the knife into Randy's side making him scream against the dirty sock in his mouth.
The urge to be buried to the hilt inside of your clutching pussy made him pull his throbbing cock suddenly from his jeans.  Dean groaned as his hands gripped your hips and he roughly pulled you back, throwing you off balance as he angled you where he wanted you.  The force of the tug caused you to let go of the knife and fall forward with your hands planted on either side of Randy's head and your breasts grazed against his bloody chest.
Dean's eyes consumed your form before him and he moaned at the sight of your weeping slit. He didn't think he had ever felt so hard in his life as he did right now. He was quick to line the head of his cock up with your slick entrance and in one brutal thrust he buried himself to the root.  You bit your bottom lip hard as your head snapped back and you tried to contain your cry.
Dean's thrusts were almost violent as he slammed into your clutching walls again and again.  The beast had been awoken inside of him, and when the beast was awake it had to be fed.  His grunts mixed with your whimpered mewls and created a pornographic symphony as your bodies collided.  You felt the tension building deep within your core as every thrust of his magnificent cock hit your sweet spot.  With the feel of your slick coated walls fluttering and tightening around his cock Dean gripped harder at your hips until your body spasmed with your orgasm.
“Fuck.” Dean grunted as you pussy clamped around his pistoning cock.  Your velvet core clenched as your sweet honey spilled around his cock and your own wordless cry echoed his.  Your body shook beneath him as he continued his pounding assault.
Your hair fell around your face as Dean's thrust bounced your body back and forth over the restrained body beneath you.  You couldn't stop the sadistic smile that curled your lips as you looked down into Randy's panic-filled eyes.  Your moans grew louder, your hot breath washing over his face even as he sobbed under you.
Dean dug his fingers harder into your flesh, blunt nails biting at the skin as he released a barrage of thrusts into your quaking cunt.  The force of his thrusts drove you down onto your forearms for support and your chest crushed against Randy's.  Your slick coated Dean's cock and dripped from his heavy balls as they slapped at your clit while your body turned crimson as it slid against the cooling puddles on Randy's chest.  Another orgasm was building steadily inside of you, the pleasure burning through every fiber of your being as your tongue darted out to lick up the tears that slid down your captive's reddened cheeks.
"Do it." Dean barked through clenched teeth as he fought to hold back his own release. "Kill him."
“Dean!” You cried as your back bowed and your hand gripped the knife once more.  You were quick to bring the blade across Randy's throat.  The warm arterial spray painting your face and neck just as your orgasm crested and your body spasmed almost violently.
“That’s it baby, cum for me.” Dean grunted as his felt his own ending near.  His hips began to falter as your pussy pulsed and milked at his shaft while the smell of blood and sex filled his nostrils.  "Fuck, so good.”
Your body caved under the pleasure and the jolt of each of his thrusts until your stomach was flush with the now corpse under you and still Dean plowed into you.  His hands cupped your waist and pinned you as he chased his release.  Dean drove his cock to the hilt again and again until he roared with the force of his climax, hitting his peak and calling out your name.  His hot thick seed filled you to overflowing as his body finally collapsed against your own.
You had no time to recover.  As soon as Dean pulled his softening cock from your dripping slit and moved away Sam was on you.  His large hands tangling in your sweat-dampened locks to pull your mouth up to his.  A deep moan filled Sam's throat as he tongue swept along your blood soaked cheek before his lips crashed against yours hungrily.
The taste of copper in your mouth mixed with the taste that was Sam's and Sam's alone made you moan against his lips.  Your blood soaked hands pushed against Randy's chest as you rose up on your knees eager to please your other brother.
A yelp of surprise fell from your kiss swollen lips as a strong arm around your waist suddenly pulled you from Sam's grip.  Dean lifted you easily from the bed and lowered you to your feet.
"What the fuck Dean?" Sam growled in anger as you were torn from his grasp.
"Get dressed." Dean threw a towel at you before righting his own clothing.
"Dean." Sam narrowed his eyes as he stared at his older brother.
Dean finally turned his olive gaze towards Sam who had risen to stand at the edge of the bed.  Sam's fists were clenched at his side and his nostrils flared. His body was almost vibrating with need and now anger.
"You can fuck her in the car Sammy.  We need to get out of here." Dean was quick to dismiss his little brother, turning his back on him and pulling his cell phone from his jacket pocket.
"This is bullshit." Sam grumbled under his breath as he watched you wipe what blood you could from your body with just the cheap hotel towel before you hastily threw your clothes back on.
"Crowley." Dean spoke into his phone. "Need you to do some clean up." He quickly gave the address to the hotel and the room number before hanging up the phone abruptly and ushering you all out of the room.
*************************** "Hey princess." John smiled as you came bouncing into his study where he sat behind his desk.
"Hi Daddy." You gave your father a warm smile as you moved around the desk to greet him.
John wrapped an arm around your waist and pulled you in against him as your lips met his in a greeting kiss.  "Did you and your brothers have a good time tonight?"  John asked as he slid his chair back and pulled you down to sit in his lap, completely ignoring the fact that you had dried blood splattered over your smooth flesh.
"Yeah, mostly." You gave him a half smile.
"Mostly?" He asked with raised eyebrows.
You opened your mouth to speak but the sound of your brothers bickering interrupted you.
"It's bullshit Dean and you know it." Sam scoffed as he entered the room with Dean right behind him.
"Sorry little brother but she's mine so I decide when, where, and if you get to fuck her.  If you got a problem with that then you need to take it up with Dad." Dean crossed his arms against his chest as he leaned against the doorway.
"You are such a jerk." Sam grumbled as he slumped down into one of the leather club chairs in front of John's desk.
"And you're being  a whiny little bitch." Dean scowled.
You whimpered softly, you hated when your brothers fought, especially when they were fighting over you.  You tucked your face into the curve of John's neck and he stroked your back softly.
"Dad, tell Dean he has to share.  He can't keep Y/n all to himself." Sam looked at his father with almost pleading eyes.
"What are you twelve?" Dean chortled as he eyed his brother. "Dad, you gave her to me.  She's mine so I can do whatever I want with her." Dean moved further into the room.
John sighed and shook his head. "Boys, we've talked about this."  He scrubbed his hand down his face. "You both are acting like children and you are upsetting your sister." John continued to stroke your back as you clung to him.  "Yes I did give her to you Dean, but you still have to share with your brother."
"I did share.  I let him fuck her in the car." Dean rolled his eyes. "He's just pissed because I didn't want to stick around so he could screw her over the corpse. That one took longer than usual and we needed to get out of there."
"Sweetheart," John gently gripped your chin between his thumb and finger as he lifted your head so you would look at him.  "Why don't you go get cleaned up and wait for me in my room while I talk to your brothers?"
You nodded your head. "Okay Daddy."  John kissed the tip of your nose and gave your bottom a light slap as you slipped from his lap.
You moved around the desk and headed for the door but Dean's hand gripped your arm stopped you in your tracks as you moved to go around him. "Hey." His voice was a deep rumble as he pulled you into him and his moss green eyes looked at you expectantly.
You knew what he wanted and you were quick to rise up on your tip toes to meet the tilt of his head as you pressed your soft lips to his.  The kiss he gave you was hard and possessive and you knew he was doing it for show.  You could practically hear Sam's eyeroll from behind you as Dean pulled you hard enough against his body that it brought a whimper from your lips. Dean ended the kiss with a smirk and a slap to your ass to send you on your way.
"Dean." John sighed exasperated by his son's obvious spiteful behavior towards his brother. "Go check in with Benny before you go to bed."
Dean nodded and turned on his heels leaving Sam sitting alone with his father.  "Jerk." Sam muttered again under his breath as he watched Dean walk away.
"Bitch." Came Dean's fading reply.
"Sammy,"  John pulled Sam's attention back to him but before he could continue Sam spoke up.
"I just don't get it Dad."  Sam huffed.  "Why did you have to give her to Dean?  We were fine the way it was before but now that he thinks he owns her he is just so..." Sam growled and his hands flailed as he struggled to find the words he was looking for.
"Sam, we've talked about this." John rubbed his hand down the scruff on his face. "Dean was out of control.  If I hadn't given Y/n to him he would be in jail right now, or worse, he'd be dead."  John grabbed the bottle of scotch from the corner of his desk and poured himself a drink before he continued. "Taking responsibility for your sister has given Dean something to focus on, a purpose other than fucking and fighting. It has calmed him down and you know it."
"But, " Sam began to protest.
"No buts Sammy." John was quick to cut him off.  "I know you need your sister as much as Dean does and I'll make sure Dean knows that too but I'm not changing my mind.  Y/n is good for him." John brought his glass to his lips, downing the amber liquid in one gulp."I'm not going to have this discussion with you again, got it son?" John raised one eyebrow as his chocolate eyes landed on Sam's face.
Sam hung his head and nodded. "Yes sir."
"Good.  Now get out of here.  I have some business to finish up." John smiled and Sam rose from his seat leaving his father to work at his desk.

Spideypool fic rec #1
*** favorites
other recs by me: X
1. Seven Ways To Woo by ann_fortunately [one-shot, 10K, POV peter] ***
summary: "I have a mission. Seven days, two people, one purpose, and three years of doing it absolutely wrong according to the social rules of pursuing romance."
or: Peter and Wade have known each other for three years now. If in Peter's opinion Wade has suddenly started acting strangely, it's most probably true.
why you should read it: friends to lovers fic that is so sweet your teeth will rot on spot. A+ characterization with Peter Parker as a pining smart-ass, Wade Wilson as a smitten kitten, and me as a shaking mess. The pacing is consistent and easy, the wording is smooth, and every time I read it my stomach fills with butterflies.
2. Propositions by stuckybarnes [three-shot, 8K, POV peter]
summary: “Yeah…” Deadpool drawls. “Anyway, Pretty Boy, I have a proposition for you.” This makes Peter kind of want to throw up. Propositions by Deadpool always end up with them in varying degrees of pain, and a lot of explaining to do with the Avengers.
OR
Wade finally convinces a very tired Peter to go to New York Comic-Con with him and enter a Deadpool and Spider-Man cosplay contest, sure they'll win. Obviously. It doesn't go exactly as expected, and Peter is not thrilled.
why you should read it: pre-relationship fic with ASD Peter. More humor than fluff, but its a close call. Their relationship is well written and the characters feel lived in. The characters are fun and on spot, with a charming plot that is executed with as much grace as can be afforded to these two characters.
3. It Had to Be You by fancastical [two-shot, 20K, POV peter]
summary: Or, Five Times Deadpool Recognised Spider-Man and One Time He Didn't
why you should read it: friends to lovers. this fic was originally a one-shot, with the first chapter being the 5+1, but chapter two came in as a lovely surprise, and while I myself am hesitant to read or even like “afters” in fics, the second half feels as natural and is just as entertaining as the first part. It's the kind of fic you'll find yourself trying to hide your smile while reading and squealing with delight.
4. Peter's Ghost by QueenRamsia [three-shot, 27 K, POV wade]
summary: Peter is dead. He’s been dead for two years. But he’s still with Wade. He haunts him every second of the day. Wade turns around and there he is, watching him through his dingy apartment window. His voice has been added to the cacophony of Wade’s mind. And Ellie is growing up alone.
why you should read it: post-relationship. okay, not gonna lie: PLEASE be careful what mindset you go into when reading this. The entire thing is an angst fest, and at its lightest is bittersweet. When I finished reading, I couldn't even cry. The story does have a satisfying ending that I would describe as hopeful and deals with the aftermath of losing a loved one. Ellie is wonderfully written in this, and she and Wade share some tender moments and scenes that were stunning. The way they write grief and learning to live after loss is phenomenal, and the plot is captivating and entrancing.
5. morning in the burned house by antivenom [WIP, 34 K, POV alternating]
summary: Wade’s got a defense mechanism. Grin and bear it.
But the thing is, Wade’s angry into his bones.
(Or, this is what happens when a seemingly unassuming, run-of-the-mill hit gets personal)
why you should read it: enemies to friends to lovers. this isn't light-hearted Wade Wilson. It's more akin to his origin comics, where his laughs feel more like tears. The humor is dark yet charming, and while flashbacks are USUALLY to be a no-go for me, the author does a tremendous job of making every bit of their story captivating and enchanting. Wade and Peter learn about and grow from each other, and watching their relationship go from “fuck this guy” to something more is captivating and the author nails it.
6. Join the Club by HashtagLEH [WIP, 53 K, POV alternating]
summary: Homeless and mute after everything Peter has been through, he somehow makes friends with Deadpool, as Spiderman. And then he meets the Avengers, as Peter.
Or, alternatively: “Spidey and Deadpool: the Mute and the Motormouth” (a title by Deadpool).
why you should read it: pre-relationship ft. the Avengers. The fic focuses on Peter and coming of age in less than ideal circumstances and builds relationships that feel authentic and kind. It is an interesting take to have a character known for his quips silenced, but the author handles it well and with grace.
7. BF(F) by Carol989 [6/6, 10K, POV peter]
summary: Five times people thought Wade and Peter were a couple which, seriously, where did they get that from? They are not a couple, stop asking. They are just friends now, and did plenty of friend stuff. Like kissing. And one time people were right.
why you should read it: pre-relationship. Oblivious Peter, smitten Wade, dare I say more?
8. Half Your Age (Plus Seven) by fancastical [17/17, 80 K, POV peter]
summary: In which Deadpool has oddly specific and frustrating morals, Spider-Man has excellent friends, his lab partner has an opening for a bassist, Johnny Storm has the warmest feet, and everyone has had enough of hearing Peter talk about Wade Wilson (except Aunt May: she’s always glad to hear he’s back in town).
why you should read it: friends-to-still-friends-to-STILL-friends-to-lovers. Pining galore ft. Aunt May, Johnny Storm, Mj, and some curious band friends. While the focus is on Peter and coming to terms with his love life, the relationships he has with the other characters (BFF johnny storm is my weakness) are what make this fic. LOTS of relationships and character growth all throughout. For those of you who want a head over heels in love Peter pursuing Wade, this is the fic for you. For those of you hesitant to that (like me), this is also for you. Just... all of you, read this.
9.  In Which Peter's an Oblivious Idiot by coffea [one-shot, 3K, POV peter]
summary: The five times Wade tells Peter he loves him and the one time Peter gets his head out of his ass.
why you should read it: pre-relationship. oblivious peter and pining wade. sweet and funny and smooth as fuck.
10.  Off The Record by crookedswingset [16/16, 138 K, POV alternating] ***
summary: Peter Parker is a corporate lackey whose sole job is to root out problem executives who waste Oscorp’s money and time. Wade Wilson is a reserve Avenger on the hunt for a prize even Iron Man couldn’t nail down: the real identity of everyone’s favorite webhead.
Too bad most people think Spider-Man is Harry Osborn.
why you should read it: hands down my favorite spideypool fic. The world-building is fantastic, all the characters (and there are a LOT) are wonderfully written. If I could marry a work of art this would be it.
11. Petey and Wade are obviously an item, so why is Spiderman trying to be a Homewrecker? by isaDanCurtisproduction [21/21, 38 K, POV peter]
summary: So, Peter and Wade are dating. Wait, scratch that, they are totally engaged (Peter will show you the ring). Fiances for life, amiright?
Everything from here on out should be totally happy-go-lucky, right?
Right?
If your answer was, "Of course not, Peter's life will never be easy," then you're on the right track.
Peter's life is difficult, and as far as anyone (himself included) knows, it's never going to be easy.
...But why do the Avengers have to hurt him like this?
why you should read it: established relationship (duh). Focuses heavily on Peters relationship with the Avengers team. All of them are well written, feisty, and you can't help but laugh at the horrible situation Peter/Spidey finds himself in.
12. we're on a highway to hell (with a little bit of heaven) by dabblingwithwords [22/22, 107 K, POV peter] ***
summary: Hydra has had Peter in their custody for three years. Deadpool is hired to break him out. Throw in an alien symbiote, motels, and superhero explosions and things get gay.
why you should read it: strangers to friends to lovers. wonderfully written, with venom playing wingman, wade playing mother, and peter being exasperated. the plot is captivating and the tension is riveting, keeping you on your toes and holding your breath. watching wade and peters relationship grow is wonderful. Watching them fall in love is breathtaking. Every time I read this I feel short of breath and NO not cause of my asthma. couldn’t recommend this lovely thing more.
13. Wolves by Saucery [WIP, 53 K, POV peter]
summary: Peter is falsely accused and sent to jail, where he meets the violent ex-mercenary, Wade.
Or: Prison daddy Deadpool looks after his boy.
why you should read it: okay, okay, okay. The pining is *kisses fingers* superb. Despite what it sounds like, the fic doesn't dive immediately into “I'm horny let's DO this”, rather the relationship develops organically and the tension (both sexual and plot) is palpable. Watching Peter navigate his new life is like watching an intense game of chess, where he's going head to head against mob bosses, the system, and a new mysterious program that just might be too good to be true.

Blooming in the Shadows (5/6)
Tumblr media
Pairing: Dean x Female Reader Rating: Overall PG-13 because of canon-typical violence. Also swearing. Words: 2,730 (this part) Warnings: Angst! Dean and the Reader swearing like sailors! Mutual pining with a dash of bed sharing and a slow burn romance added in for extra fluffy goodness. Summary: You and Dean Winchester are barely friends. His sudden reappearance from Hell brings you together, and you find yourself right back in the life you ran away from when you were a teenager. (Canon AU that takes place during season 4, specifically starting at 4.01 - for reference, Dean is 29) This chapter: This is the first chapter I wrote that originally was intended to be a oneshot. There’s a particular line of dialogue in here that inspired this entire fic. One more chapter after this one, folks. Thanks for sticking with me.
Links aren’t working - find the full master list for this plus the link to this story on AO3 on my blog!
You take a deep breath, the sound of it rattling through your rib cage on its way out. It’s silent in the old barn. Almost too quiet.
Your mind keeps flashing back to the way Dean was looking at you outside, the way he keeps half confessing things to you… you’re at your wit’s end.
You know deep down inside you that Dean Winchester doesn’t hate you. Just the same, you’ve never hated him, even after he basically stomped on your heart.
It’s time to put it in the past. There are bigger things to worry about, and you can’t lie - you’re terrified.
Pamela is out of the ICU now, according to Bobby, but blind, obviously. You’ve never seen anything like that. You think the sound of her screams will stay with you for the rest of your life, as will the crazed look in Dean’s own eyes during the attack as he held onto you and Sam for dear life.
And now you’re summoning whatever did it. Truly, probably the dumbest thing you’ve ever been a part of as a hunter. Sam’s fidgeting and Dean is pacing. The ritual has been done. The summoning is over. Now… you just wait. You’re still struck by the absolute silence.
You can’t shake the feeling that you’re not alone.
Suddenly, the doors to the barn begin to shake. The lights flicker, and sam and Dean both ready their rifles filled with rock salt. You do the same, the sawed-off comfortable in your hands despite the way your hands are trembling. You take a deep breath to steady yourself, though you can’t get rid of the feeling that tells you you’re in way over your head.
A clap of thunder, and then there’s a man standing there. Piercing blue eyes, almost blank expression on his face, but somehow still an intense look in his eyes. The look he’s giving you all makes the hair on your arms stand on end.
He takes a step forward, right through the devil’s trap, and your heart starts to race. “What the fuck…” you breathe, feeling Sam and Dean come closer on either side.
Almost as if on cue, the three of you begin firing, your rock salt doing nothing to slow down the man striding towards you like he’s on a mission. Your heart stutters again when he gets close enough to touch.
“Who the hell are you?” Dean asks, and you want to smack him for being so flippant.
The man’s voice is deeper than you expected and seems to echo around the barn. "I'm the one who gripped you tight and raised you from Perdition."
A beat, and then Dean’s smirking, the idiot. “Thanks,” he says snidely before lunging forward, the demon knife in his hand, and stabs the man in the chest, almost to the hilt.
It does nothing.
“Shit,” you say, and take a step forward, Sam heading up the rear. Before you can do anything, the man is turning to face Sam, two fingers on his forehead, and then Sam slumps to the ground.
Dean curses, and your eyes widen when he turns his attention on you, but the man is already there in between the two of you, pressing his fingers to your face before you can defend yourself.
Everything goes black.
.
.
.
“Wake up, kid. Come on,” is the first thing you hear, Dean’s voice low and worried. “She’s not waking up.”
“Give her a minute. It took me a second too,” Sam replies.
You groan in response, and can almost feel the relief palpable in the room.
“What happened?”
“A fuckin’ angel of the Lord. That’s what happened.” Dean says, and underneath his posturing, you can hear the fear there.
You sit up, with his help. “He’s-- what the hell did he want?”
Dean almost smiles, probably at your choice of words. “Said he was the one who got me out of hell. He said he did it--” Dean swallows, face turning serious. “Said he did it on God’s order. That I had a job to do.”
“Dean, what the fuck.”
He pulls you to your feet, and Sam steadies you on your other side as you get your bearings.
“I-- I’m not really sure where to go from here.” Dean admits, and it shocks you, really, to see him being vulnerable like this.
“We have to find somewhere to sleep.” Sam says, always the level head. “Let’s get a room and we’ll call Bobby. We should probably head back to his place next, anyway.”
“Two rooms,” you tell Sam on the way to the Impala. He gives you a look, but you refuse to meet his eyes. You know he wishes you and Dean would just hash things out once and for all, and there’s no way he’s missed how differently Dean is acting now.
You just can’t quite face it. After everything that happened today… the prospect of finding out whatever Dean was trying to tell you earlier today… it scares the hell out of you and you’re not sure how to deal with it.
Call it fight or flight, but it is what it is. You need a break.
The neon lights of a motel are like a beacon, and Dean practically speeds into the parking lot. He’s rattled and it makes you nervous.
Sam goes into the motel office while you hang out by the car with Dean. He’s fidgeting and you find that you want to put a hand on his arm, or his shoulder… find some way to comfort him. You haven’t had that feeling in a really long time.
“You coming with us to Bobby’s?” He asks, breaking the silence. It feels like a loaded question.
You dig the tip of your boot into the dirt, creating a pattern. “Not sure yet. Need to get my car eventually.”
He nods. “Is that the only reason you’d go back there?”
It’s not the question you think he’s going to ask, and you have no idea how to answer him.
Saved by the bell, the ringing above the door signals Sam’s exit from the building, and you heave a sigh of relief when he hands one key to you, and keeps another in his fist.
“I’ll see you guys in the morning.” You say, grabbing your bag out of the backseat and slinging it over your shoulder.
You take two steps before there’s a hand gripping your elbow. Your heart practically stops when you turn around to meet Dean’s eyes. He lets go almost immediately, a blush coloring his cheeks. “Just-- don’t leave without saying something.”
You can’t place the look in his eyes and you’re not sure you want to. You’re not sure you want to deal with any of this, but somehow you should have known you were always going to get dragged back into life with the Winchesters one way or another.
You nod and tug your arm out of his grasp, smiling weakly at Sam over your shoulder as you find your room and push your way inside, the weight of the last few days obvious as your shoulders slump.
A shower is in order, and then you plan on sleeping for about fifteen hours. You know you should eat something, too, but you’re too exhausted, too freaked out, too off your game to do anything other than collapse in your bed.
A knock on your door startles you awake after what feels like hours, but only turns out to have been about fifteen minutes. You stumble to the door, rubbing the sleep from your eyes, immediately on edge.
“What?” You ask when you pull open the door, revealing the eldest Winchester on the other side, a sheepish look on his face and his fist still raised to knock one more time.
“You were asleep.”
You shrug. “Not for long. What’s going on?”
He swallows. “Nothing. I mean, nothing bad. I just-- can I come in for a second?”
The nerves start up again. You feel anxious and feel like you want to leap out of your skin and sink beneath the earth. The dread coiling in your veins is only matched by what feels like anticipation.
You shut the door behind you, and watch as Dean rubs his jaw, pacing in front of the bed.
“Are you okay?” You echo your same question from earlier, because it really looks like he’s lost it this time.
“I have to-- I need to explain something to you.”
You say nothing. You’re caught completely off guard, with nothing to go on here but the desperate look in his eyes. He takes your silence as permission to keep going.
“When we were growing up, you… you showed up one day and completely flipped our world upside down. It’s always been just me and Sam. We never knew how to handle someone else being there, but then there was you.”
You find your voice. “Is that why you were so awful to me?” It comes out harsh, more than you intended.
“I deserve that.” He looks down at his feet. “I deserve that and I deserve everything you’ve ever said about me or thought about me since that night.”
You immediately know he’s talking about when you left. You just can’t figure out why he’s doing this now, why he’s trying to explain this now. It was all so simple for you. There’s nothing to talk about, as far as you’re concerned.
“I pushed you away when we were teens because you made me feel things that I was nowhere near prepared to feel. I thought it would be easier…” He stops for a second, laughs bitterly, “thought you would be safer if you were as far away from me as you could get.”
“Dean--”
“Wait,” he says gently, “I have to get this out or I’ll never do it.” He takes a small step closer to you, meeting your eyes now. “I also thought I was protecting myself. Killing two birds with one stone, you know?”
“Protecting yourself from what? From me?” You ask, hating the way your voice cracks on the last word.
He smiles, but it’s sad. “You scare me.” Dean’s voice is raw, honest. It makes your heart rate speed up.
“Why?” Your reply is barely a whisper.
His voice cracks, “Because you could break my heart in half and walk away without a scratch.”
You have no idea what to say. You’re frozen, rooted to the spot. It’s all at once everything you’ve ever wanted to hear from Dean, and the last thing you ever expected.
“You’re so strong. I don’t think I’ve ever told you that before. You came into my life, this spitfire full of loud opinions and the hardest left hook I’ve ever seen, and I knew… I knew that if I let myself feel these things for you, I’d never recover. You would. Because you’ve always been the strongest of the three of us. But me? I’d be ruined.”
A tear splashes off the end of your nose and startles you, because you didn’t even realize you were crying. You want to scream, want to tell him he’s so stupid for not just talking to you. This entire time, all these years… wasted. Because you both were so stupid for each other you couldn’t see the other’s feelings right in front of your face.
“So I put you down and I was cold to you and I pushed you away… and you want to know the dumbest thing of all?”
He takes a step even closer so he can reach out and use his thumb to wipe away a tear slowly tracking its way down your cheek. He’s close enough you can feel the heat radiating off him and can feel the way he’s shaking ever so slightly as he touches you.
“What’s the dumbest thing?” You ask, and his shoulders seem to curl in as he finally tells you whatever it is he’s been trying to say this entire time.
“It didn’t even work.” He whispers. “You left, and I moved on, and so did you, and you show up again… and it’s like I was punched right in the chest by all the feelings I thought I got rid of,” he says, grabbing your hand and placing it on his chest so you can feel the way his heart is pounding.
“Dean,” his name is a choked breath, the things you’ve never said to him stuck inside your throat. You swallow a sob that’s threatening to burst out and he steps up even closer, hand sliding from your cheek to the back of your neck, thumb rubbing circles into your skin.
“You’ve hated me for years and I deserved it. But trust me, sweetheart. You could never hate me as much as I do for what I did to you. You never deserved to feel like you didn’t have a home there. I even blamed you for leaving. The things I said…” He shakes his head.
“Can I say something now?” You ask shakily, a burst of confidence coming over you as you watch Dean practically bare his soul to you.
“You don’t need to--”
“Yes I do.” Your hand covers his, both of you locked there in a strange but wonderful embrace. “You have no idea how long I’ve waited to hear something like this from you. I-- Dean, I fell in love with you when I was sixteen years old.”
Dean’s eyes slide shut, a pained noise escaping his throat. You feel the exact same way - all this time wasted, all the time you both felt the same way but were too scared to say or do anything.
“If you think that I could walk away from you without a scratch… well, you don’t know me very well, Dean Winchester.” You say quietly, his fingers gripping yours almost painfully.
“We don’t, do we, though.” He says, “We don’t really know each other anymore.” He pulls back and his eyes rove over your face. “Or, at least I thought I didn’t know you. I thought you didn’t know me either. But you’ve still got that necklace. And you’re still able to look right through me, just like you always were.”
Something’s still eating at you. “Dean… why now?”
His eyes are so fucking green as he stares at you. “We went up against an angel today. I thought-- at any point, that could have gone so far South. You could have died today.” His eyes are pained. “I went to hell and came back. And still the thing that scared me today was losing you before I had a chance to make things right. I didn’t-- it made all my reasons seem pointless.”
You’re both quiet for a few minutes. “What do we do now?”
He shrugs. “Haven’t thought that far ahead yet.”
You pull away and sit down on the edge of the bed. “I need to sleep. It’s been a hell of a day.”
Dean nods, shoving his hands in his pockets. “I’ll let you get some rest. I just-- I needed to say that to you.” He takes a few steps backwards towards the door. “There’s no pressure here, okay? This whole thing--” he gestures between the two of you, “it’s on me. It always has been. I just had to get it off my chest.”
He frowns. “Dumping all that on you wasn’t fair.”
“Dean.” You stand, coming closer to him. “That’s enough self blame for one day, okay? I just-- I need to think. I’m not going to disappear. I’ll see you in the morning.”
A small smile is on his face, one you’re beginning to think is reserved just for you. “Okay.” He grips the doorknob with one hand. “I’ll see you tomorrow.”
When you shut and lock the door behind him, you finally let yourself cry all the tears you tried to hold back earlier, slumping down to the floor, the weight of everything that’s happened between you and Dean crashing down on you all at once.
A hell of a day.
What an understatement.

The Stories We Write (Final)
COMPLETED MASTERLIST HERE
Enjoy!
*************************** A short but politely worded message on Steve and Bucky’s Tumblr gave the name and address of the hotel Tony was staying at, and when they checked at the front desk to ask about a room number, the receptionist handed over a key and directed them towards the stairs.
Steve’s hand shook a little when he tried to fit the key in the door, and Bucky turned him around for a quick kiss. “S’alright, Stevie.” he murmured. “Don’t worry. He wouldn’a messaged us if he if he didn’t want to see us. Definitely wouldn’a given us a key. It’s alright.”
“I guess.” Steve took a deep breath. “This is just big, right? If he wants to be with us then everything’s gonna change and if he doesn’t want to be with us--”
“Hey hey hey.” Bucky slid his fingers into Steve’s hair and pushed their foreheads together, leaving tiny kisses on Steve’s nose and cheeks. “No sense stressin’ bout it, losin’ your hair ain’t gonna change what’s gonna happen when we open that door. Besides, if you go bald m’gonna leave you so cut it out.”
“You’d leave me if I went bald, Bucky?” Despite his nervousness, Steve smiled a little. “That hurts me deep, babe. Who knew you were so shallow?”
“Course I’m shallow.” Bucky murmured over another kiss. “S’why I didn’t let ya fuck me till you were all big and golden and muscly.”
“Christ, I hate you.” Steve laughed, his shoulders slumping in relief. “Okay, let’s do this.”
“Let’s do this.”
Steve’s hand was still shaking a little, but the door opened this time at least and together they stepped into a ridiculously plush hotel suite.
“Wow.” Bucky whistled quietly as they took it all in-- the living room with over stuffed couches, a small but fully capable kitchen with a bar, double doors that led to the bedroom and sliding glass doors that opened onto a balcony. “When Tony runs away, he does it in style, huh? This is nicer than all my apartments I’ve ever lived in combined.”
“And then some.” Steve added. “It might be nicer than our room at the Tower, too.”
“Yeah well, I’m a billionaire so it’s not like I’m going to camp out in a Motel 6.” Tony spoke from a door neither had noticed, standing on top of a step that led into an adjoining room. “And running away makes it sound like I’m throwing a tantrum because a sibling stole my toy. I prefer the term strategically retreating. Little more professional.”
“Oh, Tony...” Steve tried not to sound so sad, but Tony was doing that thing that he did when he was uneasy, unleashing that cutting wit and a healthy dose of sarcastic humour to cover how badly he really just wanted to bolt out the door and hide somewhere.
A quick glance at Bucky to confirm and Bucky nodded slightly. He knew what Tony was doing too.
“Well.” Bucky cleared his throat, consciously softening his voice and tipping his head down so he was looking at Tony through his lashes. “You strategically retreat to some pretty great places. Who did ya hafta flirt with to get a suite like this for this long?”
“No one.” Tony’s expression didn’t waver as he looked them over. “I own the hotel. The one next door too. Real easy to get a room when it’s my name on the deed.”
“I--” Steve didn’t know what to say to that. “Well um-- it’s a great room. You made a uh-- a great real estate choice. Um… kudos.”
Bucky sent Steve a scathing look, mouthing kudos?!? but Tony's lips twitched in what might have been a smile so maybe it would be alright.
“This is actually your room.” He said after a minute, motioning around the space. “I’m in the adjoining room. Didn’t know if I was ready to handle you guys in close quarters and I wanted a door to slam if you pissed me off.”
“That’s… fair.” Bucky sat down on one of the couches, grabbing Steve’s belt and yanking him down as well. “And um--”
“So are you considering doing the fan fiction thing full time?” Tony interrupted. “Because I don’t think you should quit your day jobs quite yet. You’re better at saving the world than you are at putting sentences together.”
“Told you.” Bucky punched Steve’s shoulder. “Told you I can barely take a phone message, definitely can’t write a story.”
“Okay but in our defense--” Steve smiled hesitantly, trying to gauge Tony’s mood. “It’s been seventy somethin’ years since we were in school and having to do this sort of thing all the time.”
“Sentences haven't changed all that much, not valid.” Tony shook his head, but he uncrossed his arms at least, leaned against the door frame instead of standing so stiffly. “But I mean, it wasn’t the worst format I’ve seen. At least you used paragraphs and attempted punctuation.”
“Yeah yeah, so our grammar wasn’t all that great.” Bucky chewed at the inside of his cheek nervously. “But what about the words, were those alright?” Beside him, Steve went very very still, sitting ram rod straight on the couch and holding his breath. “Cos you know that’s--that’s what was important about it. Not the format, but the words.”
Tony stared down at the floor for a long time before he sort of collapsed onto the step leading into their room, dragging his fingers through his hair and destroying the perfectly crafted style.
“Tony?” Steve asked quietly when Tony didn’t say anything another minute or two. “Why didn’t you ever just tell us how you felt? We had no idea for so long, why didn’t you say something? Anything?”
Tony sighed, clasped his hands between his knees and didn’t meet their eyes when he said, “Steve, I’ve been in love with you for years. Since New York.” Steve made a wounded sort of noise and Tony nodded. “And Bucky, I had a crush on you when I was like fourteen. Steve was this perfect image of Captain America that I would never measure up to, but Bucky, all those stories from the Commandos and Aunt Peggy-- you just seemed real. Like you would like me and I’m a little embarrassed to admit the first few people I kissed looked a whole lot like you, I’m a real sucker for all that hair and those blue eyes.”
Bucky tried not to grin so big, and Steve elbowed him sharply when he ended up looking goofy anyway. “Sorry.” he muttered. “But ha-ha I was Tony’s teenage crush.”
“Yeah, you’re a real heart-throb.” Steve hissed back.
“Anyway.” Tony cleared his throat loudly and both their heads snapped around to look at him again. “Anyway, after New York I thought Steve and I might have a chance, you know? You were a lot more human than the stories made you out to be and we laughed and we talked and you used to hang out with me--”
“And then I showed back up.” Bucky finished.
“And then you showed back up.” Tony confirmed. “And Steve, you were gone. Out the door like a shot looking for Bucky and announcing your love on live TV and wearing matching holiday sweaters and I--” he spread his hands in a what now sort of gesture. “--how was I going to compete with that? Everyone knew Cap and Sergeant Barnes had been a love story. Even the strongest anti-gay jerks out there applauded when you two were reunited. A love story that literally spans a century? I can’t compete with that.”
“Tony.” Steve started up off the couch, determined to go and just wrap Tony in a hug but Bucky stopped him, shook his head and muttered, “Let him finish.”
“The uh-- the writing started out as a weird sort of journal.” Tony said next, deciding to just get it all out in the open at once. “I don’t like to hand write things and so I thought about starting a blog, some place to dump my thoughts into the void. Tumblr seemed safe because it’s anonymous and with a little encryption the blog wouldn’t ever be traceable. Plus, it's a platform for everyone else that's sort of obsessed with you two, so I fit right in.”
A self deprecating laugh, and god they hated it.
“Never once did I think you would find it.” He added. “Never in a million years would I think that you two would not only stumble onto fan fiction but also onto my specific blog and then realize that it was in fact my blog. What are the odds of that happening?”
“And never once--” quieter now. “-- did I think you’d return my feelings and try to tell me via fan fiction. This whole thing has been fucking ridiculous and every time I think about it, it gets a little more ridiculous and now I’m hiding in a hotel because I’ve been too fucking embarrassed to even look you two in the face.”
Tony still didn’t look right at them, his gaze trained on a spot on the floor in front of the couch. “And now here we are. That’s the whole-- the whole thing.”
Bucky and Steve exchanged a look, came to an agreement via eye contact and raised eyebrows and Tony about jumped out of his skin when there was suddenly a super soldier on either side of him, crowding onto the step and winding their arms around his waist.
“What--what are you guys doing?” he squeaked and Steve brushed his fingers through the silver at Tony’s temples before pressing a gentle kiss to the strands. “Steve?”
“We suck at writing fan fiction.” Steve squeezed at Tony’s side. “I mean really suck. I had to talk Bucky out of using the f-word but lost the battle on hump. We are not good at it.”
“The F-word?” Tony repeated.
“Flaccid.” Bucky answered helpfully and Tony clapped a hand over his mouth so he wouldn’t scream. “Yeah, that was about Stevie’s reaction, too. We ain’t any good at this sorta thing, Tony. Not at writin’, not like you are.”
“The stories you write made me cry.” Steve admitted, his lips moving against Tony’s ear. “The way you wrote about us falling in love and then having to say goodbye? Sweetheart, it killed me.”
“And all th’ones bout thinking I was okay even though I’m all scarred.” Bucky added. “Not carin’ bout my arm, holdin’ me when I had nightmares. We must’a fallen in love with you a thousand different times, baby.”
“I-- you-- um--” Tony’s eyes widened helplessly. “I don’t--”
“And if we gotta write you a hundred more fics to prove how much we love you, then that’s what we’re going to do.” Steve said firmly, cupping Tony’s jaw so he couldn’t look away. “Do you understand? Bucky and I had this talk already. Sure, we stumbled onto your blog by accident, and Bucky was the one to realize it was you, but as soon as we knew it was you we sat and talked about what we wanted.”
“We weren’t gonna go ahead with nothin’ if we weren’t on the same page.” Bucky tucked his forehead into Tony’s shoulder. “Stevie told me that he’d wanted ya before I came home and I told him I’d wanted ya about since the first time you smiled at me.”
“In retrospect we should have just told you how we felt. We probably could’a saved the conversation about fan fiction for after we were together for a while, you know?” Steve lifted the back of Tony’s shirt to touch skin, humming contentedly when Tony leaned into the touch. “But instead we thought if we tried to court you the way you talked about in the fics, then maybe you would figure it out.”
“Didn’t think you’d get embarrassed.” Bucky shifted so more of him was pressing into Tony’s side. “Didn’t think you would think we were makin’ fun of you, you know? We were never makin’ fun of you, sugar.”
“It’s a little embarrassing to know you guys were basically reading my diary.” Tony said slowly, tipping his head to the side when Bucky’s mouth landed at the base of his throat. “And it wasn’t like I was just waxing poetic about your muscles, I wrote some pretty porny stuff.”
“We know.” Steve sounded like he was smiling. “We liked it.”
“We sure did.” Bucky was grinning too, rubbing light circles into Tony’s stomach with his right hand, tightening the gears of his left arm to budge them all closer together. “But we liked it more when ya talked bout how much ya loved us.”
“Waking up in the morning and just holding each other.” Steve whispered. “Taking showers and washing each other’s hair.”
“Making out during movie nights.” Bucky waggled his eyebrows mischievously. “All th’little things that people in love get to do. Those fics were the best.”
“We tried to figure out what you liked to put it in our fic.” A shy confession from Steve. “And we aren’t as good at it as you are, but we meant every word.”
“Every word.” Bucky emphasized, then met Steve’s eyes for a second and added, “We love you, baby doll.”
“We do, Tony.” Steve nodded quickly. “Sweetheart, we are just crazy about you. Have been for ages. And if we fucked all this up and have to start over with you, we will. No crazy plots and schemes from fan fiction--”
“-- no terrible one liners that sound like they are from a porno--”
“--no weird stalking you on Tumblr--”
“-- or spamming your account with comments--”
“Or using weird words to describe sexy times--”
Tony laughed then, and Steve and Bucky sighed in relief. “You guys are dorks. You don’t have to stop doing any of that. You were acting terrible and cheesy and weird but you know--” he shrugged. “I sort of liked it. Before I realized you were quoting my own fan fiction at me, I was pretty flattered by all the attention.”
“We’re gonna flatter the shit outta ya.” Bucky swore and Steve groaned out loud. “What Bucky means is--”
“No no.” Bucky cut in. “I stand by what I said. Tony knows what I meant.”
“I do know what you mean.” Tony wet his lips uncertainly, then leaned in and kissed Steve, pulling away after a few seconds to turn and kiss Bucky as well. “And I’m fully on board.”
“Yeah?” Steve brought him back for another kiss, nibbling across a plush bottom lip longingly. “We didn’t screw this up terribly? You still want to give us a chance?”
“You screwed it up pretty badly.” Tony went back to Bucky, shivering when metal fingers traced along his jaw and into his hair. “But I suppose I didn’t have to strategically retreat and ignore all your attempts to reach me for a few weeks either.”
“You got nothin’ to apologize for.” Bucky’s moan was more of a rumble when Tony sucked lightly at his tongue. “Let us do the apologizin’ and the makin’ up and we’ll take care of it all, yeah?”
“Well I mean, he could apologize for one thing.” Steve countered, and when Tony started to pull away, he rushed to finish-- “You’ve been writing all this sexy stuff about us and never once hit us up to try it out together. For all you know, you’ve been writing us all wrong.”
“Ohhhh.” Bucky’s pale eyes lit in agreement. “He’s right! Tony! You are just makin’ things up about us, where’s your integrity as writer? Should’a done some research, what if I was offended by how you wrote me?”
“Research?” Tony repeated in disbelief. “Offended?”
“The way I see it,” Steve stood to his feet smoothly, bringing Tony and Bucky with him. “The only way to avoid this problem is to do some hands on research for your next fic.”
“My next fic?” A little yelp as Tony found himself being herded towards the bed. “Hands on research?”
“You aren’t done writin’ are ya?” Bucky kicked his shoes off and fell back onto the bed, holding his arms open for Tony and grinning when the genius climbed up on the bed as well. “Don’t you got more ideas?”
“I have--” Tony flattened his palm on Bucky’s chest, tensing his fingers as the muscles twitched beneath his palm. “Wow. I have so many ideas for so many more fics.”
“Well then this is our chance to inform you that we expect our representation in these future fics to be one hundred percent accurate.” Steve deadpanned. “And that will require hands on research.”
“Have you two been reading college au’s?” Tony asked suspiciously. “Because this sounds like a line from a college au where research and study sessions end in sex.”
“Damn Stevie.” Bucky winked and Tony almost melted. “He’s onto us.”
“We’ve been reading a bunch of “oh no there’s only one bed” fics as well.” Steve slipped onto the bed next to them and budging a kiss to Tony’s forehead. “Interesting how real life follows fic plot lines so often.”
“There’s actually two beds.” Tony pointed out. “I reserved two rooms--”
Bucky flung his shoe at the adjoining door and it hit with a thwack, shutting the door between the rooms. “Oh look at that, now there’s only one bed.”
“Oh my god.”
“Hashtag platonic bed sharing.” Another kiss at Tony’s temple. “If that’s what you want. We’re just happy we didn’t lose you, sweetheart.”
“Did you just hashtag a --”
“Sweet thing.” Bucky interrupted. “Hashtag extreme cuddling. Stop talking and come here.”
“Oh my god--!” Tony’s shout of laughter was muffled by an flurry of kisses-- and accompanying terrible fan fiction lines-- from both the soldiers. “After we’re done, I’m going to tell you two exactly why you’re dorks.”
“That’s fair.”
“Yeah, we probably deserve that.”
“Hashtag happily ever after.”
“Oh for fucks sake--”

“Hey.” Later, after some not platonic bed sharing, Tony stretched happily and snuggled into Bucky's chest. “Did you guys ever read anything other than reader-inserts?”
“We started off just reading stuff about us.” Steve climbed back in bed and mouthed kisses across Tony’s shoulder before sitting up and kissing Bucky as well, handing Tony a bottle of water. “Then sorta fell into the reader inserts when Bucky discovered Yoolyn--”
Tony spit water onto Bucky when he started laughing and Bucky just rolled his eyes. “Yep. That was a fun day. Stevie thought Yoolyn was an X men. Good times.”
“An X men!” Tony laughed even louder. “Oh my god!”
“Why are you asking about what else we read, baby?” Steve brought the conversation back around, pulling Tony towards him so Bucky could step away to clean up. “Should we have been reading other things? Cos I’ll be honest, once we found your stuff we stopped reading everything else.”
“I was just wondering if you guys had stumbled onto stuckony fan fiction yet.” A tremor ran through Tony’s body when Steve’s big hand landed on his lower back then slipped down to his read, palming over the curve and squeezing lightly.
“Stuckony.” Bucky repeated. “Is that like Stucky but with you added on?”
“That’s exactly what it is.” Tony ducked his head so they wouldn’t see how goofy his smile got when Bucky got back in bed and he was suddenly squashed between them.
“Super soldier sandwich.” Steve teased and Tony turned bright red. “You like that?”
“So much.” he mumbled and Bucky hugged him tight, smiling into the back of his neck. “Anyway, stuckony fan fiction is sorta fun to read.”
“Yeah? Whole lot of fun scenarios the three of us get into?” Steve pulled the blankets up around Tony’s shoulders. “Lot’s of trouble?”
“Lots of trouble.” Tony confirmed, still pink from the sandwich comment. “Could be fun to maybe read together.”
“We can read whatever ya want.” Bucky confirmed. “And if ya want to write more bout us that’s okay too. Whatever stories you write is fine with us.”
“Ain’t that the truth.” Steve laughed a little. “Especially if they run the same lines as that one you wrote where we find you wearing lingerie beneath your clothes.”
“Oh god, kill me.” Tony tried to hide under the covers. “That was-- I didn’t-- I don’t want to-- that was definitely-- I mean--” he groaned. “Damn it. Of course you guys found that one.”
“And read it like a dozen times.”
“At least a dozen times, yes.”
“Ugh wonderful.” Tony closed his eyes and let himself drift for a minute. “This is all I ever wanted, you know? This right here.”
“We got you, babe.” Steve murmured and Bucky whispered into Tony’s ear in agreement. “We got you.”

Epilogue

“I am mega hot as a pirate.” Bucky announced loudly. “I should get some tattoos, should I get some tattoos? Also, swords. Also, can we start calling me Bronco?”
“Sweetheart, no one is going to call you Bronco.” Steve bent and kissed his forehead, and then leaned over and kissed Tony as well. “But Tony, I wouldn’t hate if you stuttered a little when you called me Captain, that little stammer is so sweet.”
“I’ve never stuttered in my life.” Tony objected. “I dunno what that author was thinking but I was definitely never so innocent that a kiss in a garden beneath a tree would make me fall in love or make me stutter like that.”
“Alright, but are you bloodthirsty enough to leave Stane to burn in a warehouse while sipping scotch, though?” Bucky raised his eyebrows. “Randy enough to let me fuck ya at a waterfall on some island where Thor wears a loincloth?”
“Okay you know what?” Tony jumped to his feet and snatched Bucky and Steve’s phones out of their hands. “You guys aren’t allowed to read fan fiction anymore. Fandom card rejected, this was a terrible idea.”
“But baby!” Steve pouted playfully. “I really really want to show you how to sharpen sword and I don’t mean the used to kill people, I mean the one in my- ahem- scabbard.”
“REJECTED!” Tony said louder and stomped out of the room. “Stupid super soldiers, ruining the things I love to read.”
“Aw sweet thing come back!” Bucky called. “I’ll take you for a ride! You wanna ride on the Bronco?”
“Nah, he wants his Captain to teach him how to be a husband!” Steve cackled. “Tony! Come back! I want to take you roughly against the ships wheel!!”
And Sam, from the doorway because he had the unfortunate habit of walking into the wrong conversations at the wrong time-- “What in the hell---?”

Learning to Live
I never knew how to be on my own until it was the only option I had. My childrens father had pushed me past my limits. I had let a lot slide in our relationship of the last 7 years, the drugs, the cheating, the occasional beatings, but when I came home and find him in OUR bed with his little tart of a girlfriend and drugs in the house I was officially done! That was our one agreement nothing was to come into our home and be around the kids. I silently thanked God for never letting me marry that man. As soon as I walked in and saw that I calmly turned and walked out and into my daughter's room and started packing her stuff. "Anna she doesnt mean anything to me!" Johnny said as he entered Rayne's room. I scoffed "Isn't that what they all say, Johnny you know Im not even mad anymore. We haven't loved each other in a long time and the only reason I've stayed is because I never thought I could make it on my own. But being on my own would never be as bad as watching the father of your children and a man thats supposed to love you do this right in front of you're face." I said folding Rayne's clothes and putting them in her duffle bag. "Come on dont do this! The kids won't understand." Johnny said grabbing my arm and trying to pull me up. "Let go of me Johnny!" I seethed. "You're not taking my kids away from me!" He said tightening his grip on my arm. "Like you spend time with them anyway." I remarked which earned me a backhand to the face. "Go ahead Johnny slap me around some more it wouldnt be the first time, but it'll sure as fuck be the last!" I said through gritted teeth. That earned me a black eye and a bust lip along with a few cracked ribs I'm sure of. After he was done he gotdressed and left for his afternoon shift like nothing ever happened.
Setting against my daughters bed holding my newly brused ribs all I could do was laugh, how could I be so foolish to stay in a relationship with someone like this for so damn long! I had no more tears to cry. I pulled myself up off the floor and went back to packing my daughter's duffle bag, if I wanted to have our stuff packed by the time the kids got home from school I only had a couple hours. I finished packing Rayne's duffle bags and set them by the top of the steps and moved to Jameson's room to start packing his. After I got everything packed I carried the 6 bags down to the garage and packed them into my Tahoe. After putting the bags into the suv, I went and sat on the front steps waiting for the kids to get off the bus.
Three o'clock rolled around and the bus stopped in front of the house. I watched my two beautiful babies get off and run full force towards me. "Hey momma" Jameson my seven year old greeted me as he sat down beside me. "Hey babies how was your day?" I asked trying to be as normal as I could before I completely up rooted their lives. "Good. Momma whats wrong with your eye?" My 5 year old daughter Rayne asked. She's always been the one to notice the little things "Let's go inside babe and I'll explain everything." I told them getting myself up letting out a wince from my ribs being moved.
"What's going on momma?" Rayne asked. Jameson and her looking intensely at me. "I hate to do this to you babies but...we have have to leave. There is a lot about your dad that you don't know and momma feels that this isn't a safe place for you anymore. So we're going to go on a little roadtrip." I told them holding back tears and trying to make this 'little roadtrip' fun. "Where we going?" Jameson asked. "Where do you guys wanna go?" "Let's go see Aunt Brit!" Rayne said excitedly. "Yeah, I miss her and we havent seen her since she lived in Georgia and thats been like 2 years ago." Jameson replied giving me puppy dog eyes. "Well I guess I could give her a call and shee where she living now and if she'd be up for some company for a while." I told the kids. "Yayyy!" The kids high fived and celebrated with each other. "Okay, Now I already packed your clothes so go grab whatever else you want to bring and put it in the duffle bag that's laying on top of your beds. And remember we wont be coming back here for a very long time so get the stuff you absolutely cant live without. While you guys do that I'll call Aunt Brit." I told them and they scurried up the stairs.
Setting at the bottom of the stairs I dialed Britni's number. After three rings I get an answer. "Hello" Brit greets me. "Hey B how ya been?" I asked almost on the brink of tears. Britni and I haven't talk for a couple years ever since she found out about me knowing that Johnny was cheating on me and using drugs to her I was a fucking idiot and derserved better and she wasn't going to sit around and watch it happen. Good thing she didn't know about the occasional beatings. "Annie?! That you?" She asks halfing yelling. "Yeah it's me, this a bad time?" I ask. "Absolutely not! Let me step out of the garage so I can hear ya better. So what's up? How's the kids?" "They're good. But I do have a favor to ask." I tell her getting straight to the point. "Sure, anything for you and those babies!" She told me. "I'm leaving Johnny and I have no where to go." I muttered out feeling ashamed that it's took this long for me to leave. "Baby girl you know you and those kiddos always have a place with me. I'm just glad you finally left that basturd! I'm working at a garage out in Cali and got a two bedroom apartment just around the corner from the shop. You come on out babygirl I got you!" She told me which brought a smile to my face. Knowing that someone that isn't even related to me could be there for me at the drop of a hat. But then again she always has been since kindergarten. " Thank you so much. You don't even know how thankful I am!" I told her. "Shut your mouth bitch and get your ass out here I miss you and the squrits!" Britni said chuckling. "As soon as they come down from packing toys I'll be on the road! We miss you too something fierce." I told her hearing footsteps coming down the stairs. "Okay, I'll text you the address to the shop cause I'm here 75% of the time." She said inhaling sharply. I figured she was taking a smoke break while talking to me. "Awesome love you babe see you soon!" I told her standing up and turning around to see the kids standing there holding their backpacks ready to go. "Love you to babe. I gotta get back to work keep checking in through." She told me sternly. "Promise." I told her and we ended the call.
"Well babes it sounds like we're heading to California!" I told the kids laughing seeing their jaws drop. They've never been further than Georgia and that was the last trip we took. "That's clear across the country!" Jameson explained. "It sure is baby we have a very long trip ahead of us." I told them walking towards the garage. Coming from West Virginia to California was about a 40 hour drive with no stopping. "Alrighty do you have everything you need or want?" I asked one last time before we got settled in the car to start our journey. "Yepp we got everything momma." Rayne answered. "Let's get buckled in then and get going."
By now it was already 5 o'clock and we haven't even left the county. I figured we better stop and fill up with gas and get some snacks and about 10 ice coffees if I was going to drive through the night. By the time we got back on the road I received a text from Brit with the address of the auto shop she was working. Brit may be a bit ditzy but there was one thing that bitch was good at an that was fixing cars. She had the life that I had always wanted. Getting to travel all over, not being tied down, now don't get me wrong I love my kids to death and would go to war for them but it was never in my agenda to have two kids and an a steady boyfriend at 25 but there I was watching my best friend living the life I had always wanted.
After about the fifth hour of being on the road the kids was fast asleep and that gave me time to drown in my thought. Was I really doing this? Where the hell had I grew the balls to leave? I'm on my own rasing two kids. I'm going to be alone forever, no man in his right mind will ever want a plus size single mom with baggage. I mean I'm not huge at least I don't think so but after having two kids and a love for some good food I'm about a good 16,18 jeans of course my big ol' ass and hips takes up most of the room. And if I do say so myself I've got a pretty nice full rack, and have two full sleeves of tattoos which I've always got compliments on. That and my long black hair with my olive complexion is what first attracted Johnny to me. Wait fuck Johnny dont think about that prick. After that thought is when I turned on my favorite station and started to drown out my thoughts.
Stevie Nicks' voice filled the vehicle and pushed all the negitive thoughts out of my head making me focus on her voice and the road. After another 3 hours of driving I decided it was probably a good idea to stop and get a hotel room for the rest of the night.
Pulling into the rundown motel parking lot, I looked back at my two sleeping kids and thanked the lord of giving me such wonderful blessings even though their dad was a dick, they was perfect. Getting out of the car I opened Jameson's door first and gentley nudged him awake. "Wake up baby." I whispered. "Mommy where are we?" Rayne asked waking up rubbing her eyes along with Jameson. "We're at a motel somewhere in Missouri." I told them unbuckling Jameson then moving to Rayne. None of us slept well in that shitty motel but it was better than nothing. The next morning around 10 we got back on the road. I drove for about 12 hours straight that day and only pulling over at a truck stop to sleep. It wasn't that I was really watching my money since I had been saving all of my tips from the salon for the last 12 months for this trip and working at one of the best salons in three county I made bank. It was the fact that I couldn't sleep in hotels, everytime I would fall asleep I would wake back up thinking that Johnny had found us. Not that he would come for me but he'd come for the kids. This driving for 8 sleeping for 8 had become a routine for us for the last couple of days. And was working pretty well.
After four days of driving and sleeping at trucks stops we was finally in Navada. "Alright kids, you can get unbuckled let's go in and get some snacks!" I told them as I got out. Walking in the the gas station I noticed about four bikes on the opposite side of the gas pump's and smiled it had been so long since I'd been on the back of a bike.
"Okay, now you can get whatever you want but remember you have to eat good food before your candy." I told the kids. As they went picking out their snacks I grab a bottle of water and a blue powerade. When I gathered the kids up I noticed two of the bikers were standing in front of us in line. 'Sons of Anarchy' I thought to myself taking in the kutte. Hearing a Scottish accent they drew my interest more, making me think of Brit she was always a sucker for a man with an accent especially a Scottish one. I watched as the men payed for their gas and cigarettes and walked back out to their bike.
Putting our stuff on the counter for the cashier to ring up and prepaying for gas I handed her cash and picked up our bag.
I got the kids settled into their seat and the snacks passed out then I went to pumping gas still kind of being to nosy for my own good. I couldn't help it though there was something about those bikers that drew me in. As I was eavesdropping I heard the sexiest voice I have EVER heard. Peaking over the pump to see where that husky voice was coming from I looked into the darkest eyes I've ever seen and from that moment on I was hooked. All I got was a subtle wink and I was weak in the knees. I finished pumping and got back into the car and immediately called Brit to tell her about this dark eyed mystery man.
000000000000000
"Talk to me. " Brit answered after the third ring. "Holy Shit I think I'm in love!" I said with a smile on my face. "What the fuck are you talking about? You smoking again?" She asked full out laughing. "Bitch this ain't funny I'm dead serious! We locked eyes over the gas pump, his eyes were so dark it was like he was looking straight to my soul!" I told her with excitement. Good thing the kids had their headphones on so they couldn't hear me gushing about this mystery man. "Chick you really are sex deprived aren't you." She replied to the statement. "Yes but thats beside the point, Im fucking serious. Plus he was with a MC, had Sons of Anarchy on his kutte, along with the other three that was with him. And his friend had an Scottish accent so I can bang dark eyes you bang the scot!" I said acting like we was in highschool again making a plan on how to bang these random guys we didnt even know. All I heard on the other like was Holy Shit and Britni laughing hysterically. "Whats so funny bitch?" I asked "Was you in Navada when you seen these guys?" She asked me. "Yeah why?" I replied confused as to how she knew that. "You'll see when you get here horndog." She said laughing and then hung up. I looked at my phone disgusted. What the fuck was this bitch talking about? Now not only can I not get this mystery man out of my head but now Im thinking about what I'll have awaiting me when we get there.

Brit's POV
Hanging up with Annie all I could do was laugh, Bitch had no idea what she was walking into. As I was walking across the lot from the garage to the clubhouse the guys that we had just been talking about pulled in. "Hey baby how was the run?" I asked my ol' man leaning in for a kiss. " Good as can be expected lovey." He answered in that deep Scottish accent I love oh so much. "Whats goin' on here?" He asked wrapping his arm around my shoulders and leading me into the clubhouse. "Well...there is something I need to talk to you all about." I said sweetly. "What did ye do know lovey?" He asked taking the shot of whiskey the prospect gave him. "You remember me talking about my best friend Annie and her kids? And how her kids sperm donor is a piece of shit and beats on her and is a druggie piece of shit?" I asked getting angry and clenching my teeth just thinking about what all he's done to her. "Easy there darlin' might blow a fuse." Tig joked. "I just hate his fucking guts. She deserves so much better." I told them. "Okay well what about her?" Chibs asked trying to get me back on track. "Well she finally left him and she'll be here." I was telling him before my phone interrupted me. "Well actually she's here now." I said with a little chuckle. "Listen don't worry she knows how this life works, we grew up in my Uncle's clubhouse so she knows the part and let me tell ya she plays it way better than me." I said laughing. "Well fellas I guess lets go meet the lass." Chibs said as Happy and Tig followed us out to the lot curious to see whonthis Annie was.
ANNIE'S POV
I pulled into the lot and it was stepping back in time. It reminded me so much of Uncle Tommy's clubhouse. "Alright darlings we're here." I said letting out a breath I didnt realize I was holding. "Mommy why are we here?" Jameson asked. "This is where Aunt Brit works. We have to meet her here first then we'll follow her to her house." I explained to both of them. While the kids were getting unbuckled I quickly checked my hair and put on some mascara and chapstick. I took one more quick glance in the mirror and saw Britni followed by three guys making their way toward us. I decided it was time to get out, as I got out I pulled the distressed demin shorts down a little in the front so they wouldnt look so short and pulled my shirt up a little so I wasn't showing so much cleavage. "Bitch!!" I heard as I was opening the back door for the kids to get out. I automatically got a huge grin as soon as I heard her voice I had been to damn long since I had seen my best friend. I turned around and immediately stopped when I seen him. It was him dark eyes from the gas station! I was frozen. My heart was pounding out of my chest! As I stood standing there like an idiot the kids took off running to Britni.
"Hey kiddos! You've gotten so big look at you!" Britni said talking a good look at them.
"I'm seven now Aunt Brit!" Jameson told her a little cocky. "Well you're almost a man!" Brit said with a slight chuckle. When I heard her laugh I snapped out of my trance and started paying attention to the exchanges between my children and the Aunt they haven't seen in years. "And look at you babygirl I can't believe how beautiful you are! I'm so glad you took after your mother and not your ugly ass daddy." She said laughing and looked at me. I just rolled my eyes and laughed. Why don't you kids go play over on the swing set while me and your momma talk?" Britni said looking at them. "Can we momma?" Rayne asked. "Go on." I said smiling and kissing both of them on top of the head before they took off running for the pay ground.
"How was the trip?" She asked pulling out a cigarette and handing it to me with a look knowing that I needed one. "It was good the kids were great. They're actually excited about starting over." I remarked taking a hit of the Marlboro red. "So you gonna introduce us to this beautiful women or what?" Tig said looking me up and down. "Shut up Tig you pervet fuck!" She told him. I couldn't help but let out a laugh. "Annie this is my ol'man Filipe or Chibs as most people know him by." She said with a smile plastered to her face. "Nice to meet you!" I said as I studied him a little better, then my eyes went wide! He's P the guy with the accent I thought to myself. " Aye, nice to meet ya lass I've heard lots about ya and thee rugrats." He said with a smile shaking my hand. Yepp that's confirmed, I thought to myself. "That pervet there is Tig." "Nice to meet ya doll." Tig said as he grabbed my hand and kissed it. Dark eyes just rolled his eyes at Tigs gesture. "And that's Happy the grouchy fuck." She said and looked at me with a shit eatting grin on her face. My heart stopped. I could not believe that he was here she knew exactly who I was gushing about! That bitch. "Hi." I said shyly. All I got was a head nood but that was good enough for me.
