PAIRING bf!enhypen x gn!reader
GENRE fluff, established relationship
WARNINGS kisses obviously, ummm nothing else possibly??
( ‘💌’ ) note : tysm anon for requesting !! i was planning to write this so i’m glad i got this ask <3 so i hope you enjoy 🤍
Tumblr media
💋 — HEESEUNG
— this guy will probably laughing his nervousness off ngl LMAOOO 😭 but then he realizes, he's been dating you for a while so why should he be nervous for ??
— he's probably going to be super flirty as you're kissing him ... like giving you a gaze that's gonna make you nervous 😵‍💫
— but then after all that he gets shy as you continue to kiss his face LMAO . like let’s talk about the duality 😪😪😪
— "you love kissing me that much?" LIKE IF U DONT SHUT UP RIGHT NOWWW .
— he would shower you with compliments as you're doing the trend yk 🤗 like his man cannot make you start recording bc he’s giving you literal BUTTERFLIES .
— goes back to the tiktok you both made just to rewatch the vid about five times before looking at some comments 😊 but he forgets honestly and just ends up watching ur tiktoks cause ure so 🫣🫣🤗🤗🤭🤭😍😍🥰🥰😘😘 u get it LMAO
💋 — JAY
— when you show him a tiktok of someone doing the trend, he's chill about it at first.
— "you wanna try this?" "yep!" "okay then."
— he tries to act calm but he's actually not 😊 like he looks "okay" on the outside but he's panicking in the inside
— like you only figure out how he's actually feeling because of his red face or the heat of his face when you kiss him
— probably tells you which lipstick to pick out and probably even offers to apply on for you. like he gives a bunch of compliments so you’re the one who turns up red next
— looks at you with such LOVING eyes like he can't keep his eyes off you as your planting kisses all over his face...im giggling like why are you still maintaining eye contact
— even when recording, hes gonna look at you lovingly that people comment under your tiktok wishing for a man like that ... but yeah hes all yours 😊 (im feeding into ur deluluness and mines)
💋 — JAKE
— he's both shy and excited when you bring up wanting to do this trend. like this guy cannot stand still BUT ITS CUTE like just imagine him waiting excitedly as you go to get your lipstick 😪
— he's looking at you with such adoration as you're putting on the lipstick :(
— your kisses on his face is ticklish for him despite how often you kiss him on his cheeks 😭 he's just probably nervous but lets not talk about that
— you might have to tell him to stop moving though CAUSE ITS SMUDGING THE KISSES ON HIS FACE 😭 like he’s not even doing it on purpose, he just can’t do it
— like it smudges so bad you have to reapply it on his face (basically redo) but who said you both were complaining about that ?
— so at one point he just closes his eyes and let you do his thing bc if he looks at you, hes gonna move 😭
— everyone would be commenting on how cute your bf is </3 and he would def be reading through the comments, giggling and showing them to you i love jake
💋 — SUNGHOON
— showing him the tiktok trend, this guy will just be SOOO quiet like he can’t process it really … like is he really going to be doing this trend with you ??$ sounds like a dream come true to him
— you might have to poke him to start speaking cause he’s just letting the video replay and just staring at it LMAO its funny to imagine but its so hoon
— “hey…hey!” “huh?” “are we going to do the trend?” “oh uh, sure”
— he may not seem to be excited but trust me, he is. he’s just nervous for no reason … he’s letting you doing your thing and is giving such a wide smile :( LIKE JUST IMAGINE IT ugh his smile is actually perfect.
— i think he would be ticklish too ngl … like he thinks about it too much so he kinda gets ticklish as you’re planting kisses on his face … as if you don’t give him pecks on his cheeks daily
— would get so immerse at looking at you that he forgets about the tiktok … you probably would scold him bc of the amount of times you have to recreate the video .. but he just finds you pretty okay let him be 😢
— gets shy when he sees the comments under your video like he turns RED okay… and he giggles at them LORD it would be really cute seeing him like that 🙁
💋 — SUNOO
— you and sunoo are so down to do any kind of tiktok trend! whenever you both have any time together, you guys would attempt any trend you see on the fyp LMAO
— so he’s super down for anything!!! it doesn’t take that much convincing for him because he would automatically say yes.
— matter fact, sunoo might find the trend sooner than you do. we know how updated he is with trends, i mean, have we seen his tiktoks?? so yes, he would show you the trend first.
— he would be really excited!! like imagine that wide smile and him being like “isn’t this such a good idea?” with that voice tone IF YKYK.
— once you agree it doesn’t take much for you to agree either, he’s already rushing into the room to get a lipstick for you LMAO he’s just so excited to do anything for you really.
— you both would probably create multiple drafts, not because you guys mess up or anything. you guys could do it perfectly on the first try, but you both wanted to create more to keep in drafts for only both of your eyes :( <3
— he would probably help you pick out which one to post, and he picks out the best one im telling you. and the tiktok would be such a hit like sunoo has an eye for this okay 🙏 LMAOO
💋 — JUNGWON
— still living the shy jungwon type LET ME LIVE
— like u can’t tell me he wouldn’t be super red as you bring up the tiktok idea AND IMAGINING HIS SMILE TOO im dead.
— he would say it would be great and would anxiously wait as you get everything.
— he’d smile so hard that you would end up kissing his dimples as well HAISNS
— he would like hold his breath as you leave pecks on him. like you get closer, inhale. LIKE its so funny to you because its sooo noticeable that he is holding his breath 😭 so you just laugh at him instead of pointing it out.
— but he would REALLY enjoy it and would get sad once you finish kissing all over his face….he may or may not try to mess up the tiktok multiple times….
— once you both decide on the perfect video, he WILL blush when he watches it on his own time.
— he’s just the sweetest . how many times have i said that on any jwon related work
💋 — NIKI
— this guy was WAITING for this day to come and let me explain
— usually niki would find trends for you both to do first, so you really never looked for any. so obviously, niki found this trend way before you did! but this trend…he couldn’t bring it up to you THAT EASILY. why??
— 1) you two always do the silly kind of trends 2) he would be shy 3) and you would tease the hell out of him.
— so what does he do?? MAKE IT SUPER OBV 😭 . like he would attempt to have the trend playing on his phone, throw it closer to you, and just walks away HOPING you would see it. HES SO SILLY BUT ITS CUTE
— after you not noticing his attempts, he just gives up thinking he would never ever do this trend in his lifetime and would die thinking about this hes so dramatic UNTIL a miracle happened…you brought up the trend idea 😱
— this guy cannot contain himself like he would say yes immediately and not even tease you by saying no at first.
— he’s in his little own happy world as you kiss him LIKE u think its so sweet when he acts like this </3 !!!
— “we should do more trends like these,” he would say after you both finish filming and you agreed. and once you did…niki finally brings up another trend to do — something that isn’t so silly this time 😊

There are a lot of rumors about Eddie Munson. From his sexuality, to his religion, to him being some sort of supernatural creature.
Steve doesn’t put a lot of merit in most of them. They’re usually just bullshit people make up to entertain themselves with whilst beating down on the weird kid. Steve thinks it’s boring… usually.
He’s seen enough weird things happen around Munson to know that something isn’t right. Something about him is unnatural. And Steve is staying clear out of the way of whatever the hell he is, or whatever the hell he’s messing with.
Unfortunately, his friends haven’t gotten the message.
“Do it at your own house!” Steve complains, though he makes no move to stop them. He’s sure it’s nothing, that it’ll only lead to an annoying clean-up job, but there’s a nagging sense of dread writhing in his gut. “This shit is bull anyway.”
“If it’s bull then what’s the problem?” Tommy counters.
“Because none of you dickheads are going to help clean this shit up!”
“I promise to help you clean up,” Carol says. “There. Problem solved. Right?”
"It's still stupid," Steve mutters, glaring at the janky make-shift pentagram they've made. "And a bad idea."
It's drawn on nine pieces of paper- they wanted to draw it big on the floor, but Steve had but his foot down. He lets them use some of his moms candles as a compromise.
With the lights off, sitting with the two of them in a circle, it suddenly feels too real. Even Carol looks suddenly nervous.
Tommy is the only one still smirking, though Steve is sure that it's forced. His voice shakes a little as he begins reading off the paper he'd torn out a library book. His Latin is clunky.
At first, nothing happens.
Long enough that Carol says, "did you even say it right?"
"Yes, it even has-" Tommy starts.
The candles all blow out, suddenly. The light Steve had left on in the kitchen flicks off too, plunging them into complete darkness.
After a horrible moment, where they're still and silent, Carol yelps.
"Don't grab me, Tommy, that's not funny!"
"I didn't grab you."
"Wh- Steve?"
"No," is all Steve can get out.
"I'm turning the lights on," Tommy says. "This is ridiculous."
Steve listens to his footsteps and, when he sounds like he's almost at the light switch, he yelps.
"Fuck this," he says.
"What the fuck, Tommy!" Carol yells when they both hear him running past them. She's up on her feet immediately, chasing after him.
He wants to scream after them, plead with them to come back, that they shouldn't be abandoning the circle.
But, the same gut instinct that insists he stay where he is, keeps his mouth shut. Everything in his being is telling him that if he leaves, if he speaks first, horrible things will happen to him.
Something tuts, like a parent admonishing a child.
The living room light flicks on, so bright that Steve has to blink a few times to clear away the white spots.
Eddie Munson sits in the space they left empty.
"Someone didn't read the terms and conditions," he snickers.
"What..." Steve pauses, clearing his throat. "What are the, uh... terms and conditions?"
"Oh, they're simple, really. Look," he holds up the page Tommy had read the incantations from, pointing to the little paragraph at the end. "They even translated it to English! But all you need to know, big boy, is that you are A-OK."
"And... Tommy and Carol?"
"Eh, they're fine. Lucky, really. I'm trying to relax up here. I'm only gonna pay them back with a minor curse or two. Nothing lethal."
"Fuck."
"We haven't even got to you yet!" He spins around so hes laying on his belly, resting his chin on his palm. "You didn't technically summon me so you can just tell me to leave... or."
"Or?"
"Deal with no consequence, baby. One wish, whatever you want, free of charge. Well... I'd want your silence about the whole... summoning thing. Let's consider that payment."
He doesn't need his gut or book to warn him that it's a bad idea. Munson could be lying, easily. There could be fine print. It's a bad, very bad idea.
"There's... definitely no consequences? I won't, like, go to hell for this?" Steve finally asks.
"Do some charity work for a week, you'll be fine," he says, waving his hand around. "What do you want, King Steve?"
"Could- could you make someone love me?"
"Oh, ho ho ho! Who's the unlucky lady who said no to you?"
"No, it... it's not like that. I mean, um... my mom."
Munsons smile drops. The temperature drops with it, making a chill run up Steves spine.
"Your mom," he repeats.
"They're busy like, all the time," Steve automatically defends. "And they're barely here so, uh... of course they wouldn't- I mean, it's normal, right? You can't love a stranger or... whatever. It's fine. It's just... I don't know."
"Steve..." Munson pauses.
He groans, throwing his head into his hands, dramatically. He almost immediately flings his head back up, hair flying everywhere, giving Steve wide and pleading eyes.
"I can't make people fall in love or any shit like that. I can make illusions, that's it. Love is, like... way out of my jurisdiction."
"I- I'm ok with an illusion. Like, just one day or something."
"Steve, baby, you're breaking my heart."
"Please?"
"Jesus- ok!" Grumbling, Munson shifts so he's kneeling. "And in return, you won't say shit about any of this. Deal?"
"Deal."
"Great. Ugh. This next part is... weird."
"What do you mean, weird?"
"It's weird, I don't know. Deals about, like, love are sealed with a kiss."
"You're joking."
"Nope, and that's not even the weird part. Now, come on and pucker up, let's get this over with." He gestures for Steve to shuffle closer, waiting until they're sat close enough that their knees almost bump together. "You can still change your mind. Anything at all, Steve. Anything."
"I thought you wanted to get this over with?"
"On your head..."
Munson leans forward, kissing him. It's just a peck, simple and easy. No big deal, right?
Steve feels possessed. It's like someone lit a match in his stomach, leaving him lightheaded and confused. He's not sure how he ends up in Eddie's lap, clutching onto his shoulders, desperately trying to lick into his mouth. He feels so-
He wakes up in his bed, the morning light blinding him.
"What the fuck..." he mutters to himself, grabbing at his throbbing head.
At first, he thinks he's hungover. That he'd just had a weird dream... but he's wearing the same clothes. And, sat on his stomach, is a guitar pic. It's got 'corroded coffin' written on it too- Eddie's band.
"Steve!" He hears his mom call. "Time to get up!"
He scrambles out of bed, dashing down the stairs.
She smiles when she spots him, so bright and warm. She even raises an arm, laughing when he practically throws himself into her side and hugging her tight.
"Morning, sweetheart. Good dreams?"
"Yeah. Yeah, great. But, uh... I feel sick."
"Oh no," she frowns. She puts her hand to his forehead, cooing when she brushes his hair out his face. "Is it your stomach?"
"Yeah. Just... might be better to stay home today. If that's ok?"
"Of course it is. I'm sure we can find something fun to do together, yeah? How about we get a vhs movie, hm?"
"I'd love that."
"Great. Well, if you're feeling up to it, I've made breakfast." She steps away, plating the food she's cooked up. "Oh, did I ever tell you about Paris? It was beautiful, you would have loved it. We should bring you, next time we go."
Steve can't stop smiling. He's sure that his cheeks will be aching by the end of the day.
He'll have to thank Eddie- as soon as he can even think about him without blushing. He'll need to ask if it's normal to still feel... affected, even after the deal is done.
Part of him knows it isn't the deal. Part of him is too curious about how Eddie will react.

Flowers
Breaking news: local tsunderes and a sleepy boy fall for a shrimp when they decide to give flowers to them.
BIGGG HUGS TO MY 2ND YEAR BABY SILVERRR 🔥🔥🔥
Tumblr media
Leona Kingscholar
Out of everyone, you chose him?
Yeah, he’s pretty confused when you came up to him in the greenhouse one day
You knelt down to his face
He knew you were there and he half hoped you’d go away if he’d ignore you and half hoped you stayed
You did stay!….and poke his cheek multiple times before he cracked an eye open at you.
“What the hell is your problem herbivore?”
“For you.”
You shove a flower in his face and try run off when he sits up faster and grab your wrist
‘I’m gonna die today, goodbye Grim, goodbye Ace, Deuce…’ You think when you fall back and close your eyes shut, waiting for the time you’ll hit the floor
You fall back into the arm of the SavanaClaw housewarden and when you open one of your eyes, you’re greeted with his face close up
“I wasn’t finished talking.”
“U-uh! My bad! I just—“ You groaned. “I thought this flower reminded me of you.”
“…These are vegetables.”
“Idiot, it’s a herb.”
“Same shit.”
“Coriander, tarragon, and this isn’t even an herb, hydrangeas!”
Leona looked at the three flowers in his hand
“Why they remind you of me?”
Your face brightens yet again, whoops, you forgot about that, well not like you have anything to lose right…?
“Coriander for your hidden worth, tarragon because you make me interested, and hydrangeas because…I’m happy you understand me when everyone can’t.”
“…Really…?” He smirked at you, you have so many urges to kiss and slap him at the same time but you can’t deny the fear of just him ignoring you afterwards
“Just…say you don’t feel the same and move on. I don’t need to be lead on b—“
He kisses your hand that he had held onto
“Don’t assume I don’t feel the same.”
“You do?!”
Leona rolls his eyes and wraps his arm on your waist, pulling you close
“Shut up. Lemme sleep now.” And he knocks out, trapping you with a sleeping lion
You take a minute to appreciate his sleeping face and smile. When he wakes up, you’re sure to ask him out officially!
Rolling yourself on your other side, now you have a dilemma. With the sleeping lion trapping you with his arm…
How are you gonna get out and go to class???!
Vil Schoenheit
The queen of the Magicam app and your heart is always surrounded by people…
And if he isn’t, then Rook is there…
You were so close to pulling your own hair out whenever someone came up to Vil. You knew he was a housewarden, yes, but you needed just one moment alone!
Sighing out in defeat when yet another student came up, you just gave Rook the flowers and told him to give it to Vil later before going back to Ramshackle and complaining in your couch.
You’re grateful that Grim gave you the space you needed and went off to bother your two dorky friends
The rain pelted your window as you furiously screamed inside the cushions
A knock comes at your door, but you’re too frustrated to go open it
“Come in!”
“So, instead of just simply asking me to be alone with you, you asked Rook to give these to me?”
You quickly pounce up and see Vil staring at you down on the couch, his umbrella by his side, was he always that quick?!
He sits down besides you holding the bouquet, Vil looks completely elegant as usual but…the undersides of his shoes. They’re muddy and they have drops of mud on the upper side…He ran?
“An aloe piece, Calla lilies, and forget me nots…Your flower language is lovely. Though, I hope the aloe is affection and not grief…”
“It is…”
He held your hands with his own, you can tell your cheeks are definitely pink
“Affection, beauty, and to not forget. Do you think I really would swoop that low to forget you?”
Well yes, but right now? Oh sevens no.
“I-Well, do you feel…the s-same?”
You asked with curiosity and hesitation
“You’re very foolish of you think I ran in my heels here to just reject you.”
A smile graces his face and you happily hug him
Silver Vanrouge (I will die for that.)
A slight blush adorned your cheeks anytime Silver came by
He was just so pretty in your eyes!! How can one being be so…so…
RAHHHHH
You knew if he was busy guarding Malleus, he wouldn’t be able to spend time with you
If he wasn’t, he was sleeping and completely unable to talk
Knowing him better than yourself, you knew exactly what time to give the flowers to him!!!
That is until he ended up getting more shifts as a result of Sebek getting ill (you don’t blame him, you gave a little card along with Jack earlier)
Hole in your plan…
Fortunately! You got free lunch from someone who wasn’t hungry and went to his station
Not too many people and either way, Malleus just knew by the glint you saw in his eyes. Tsuntaro really was your wingman…
“Silver!” You ran up to where he was sitting and he stood up fast
“Hey, I didn’t know you were here.” He told you with slightly startled eyes
“Sit back down! I got both of us some food and…a surprise for you. You’re on break right?”
When he sits back down by your side, he nods.
You two eat the food before you wrap the plates up in their bag again
Silver, feeling sleepy, dropped his head on your shoulder
“Ah! Wait hang on, before y-you sleep…” You grab the hidden flowers from underneath a cloth and give it to him
His sleepy eyes widen, a pink bloomed on his cheeks
“For…me?”
“For you!” You blushed too, not knowing if he knew or reciprocated your feelings
“…White clovers, Gardenias, and white hyacinths…”
Mainly whites since you thought they matched Silver’s pretty white hair—Ack! Caught lacking again in front of the knight himself!
“Y-yeah! Picked them out myself! Thought they matched your appearance and how…how I think about you! Clovers because I think of you, gardenias cause you’re lovely, and hyacinths for prayers for someone or because you’re so lovely yet again!” You smile at the end, shyly looking away as his pupils dilate and his face becomes shocked
He blinks and smiles softly, taking one of the clovers and putting one behind your ear
“I think of you too.”
You’re so happy, you tackled him to the ground and almost crushed the flowers
Sebek Zigvolt
Bro would eat flowers if Malleus asked him too
Sebek is a sweetie, not everyone sees past the rough and loud exterior that he has but when you did, you fell straight down for him.
Well maybe not straight down, more like…someone entering shallow water for the first time. Carefully stepping in and then getting excited and diving all in.
You saw how Sebek refused gifts from his friends. How he was…quite determined to give the gifts back
Got pretty annoyed at the sharp toothed man for that…
Despite your sweaty palms, you decided to force a gift no matter what!
So, you decided to ask Malleus and Lilia if they could let Sebek have a single day off, you would do anything
They just laughed and said you didn’t need to
So, Sir Zigvolt got a day off! (He wasn’t happy at first but then you asked him “if he could be your knight for the day”, and with a scowling blushing face, he nodded)
“Hmph! If a lowly human like you needs my help, then fine! Only because Master Malleus Sama is not in need of me!”
You didn’t have classes that day so you spent some time with him just walking around the town with him
Panicking once the day was almost over and the sunset was blooming, you told Sebek to go to the bench that was facing the sky
You sighed out in resignation once you didn’t find anything you thought was special for Sebek…until you saw the flower shop
Going and picking the flowers, you exchanged money with the vendor before hiding them behind your back and going to Sebek
“Sebbekkk!” You nervously smiled at him
“Why hello again, what were you even doing taking so long?” He raised an eyebrow at you in suspicion
“W-well, I was trying to find something for you and I ended up picking these out for you!”
You held out a small bouquet of flowers. Dill, gladioluses, and Heliotropes.
“If you’re going to ask, yes. I know dill is also a herb.”
His eyes focused on the bouquet and then you in shock before his cheeks burned a red deeper than yours
“…You…powerful against evil, victory, devotion…Specifically picked out for…me?”
Dear sevens, as if he didn’t deserve it
“Yes! Do you…like them?”
“Do I have permission to touch you?”
That certainly startled you, but you nodded
He hugged you tight
“I…ahem…I guess I have feelings for you…human. May I take you out on a proper date next time?” He said in a soft and slightly hesitant voice
Nodding in happiness, you wrap your arms around him, hugging just as tight

Summary: Evan invites the team to meet his wife and twins who he is very protective over. As one of the boys is autistic and (Y/n) happens to have narcolepsy.
Enjoy.

Tumblr media
"…It'll be great, Buck you're coming this time right?"
Evan paused a few feet away from the dining table in the station annex. He let his fingers continue to card through his wet locks that were forming into curls, flopping about near his forehead. He'd just had a shower and was ready to gulp down some lunch ready for whenever the bell sounded for their next call out.
He seemed to have missed the first part to whatever conversation was running rampid in the kitchen.
With a small, if confused smile, Evan walked over to the table and sat down opposite Eddie and Hen. He darted his eyes between the pair of them and Bobby and Chimney who were stood in the kitchen, finishing up grabbing plates and cutlery.
Evan had been working at the station for roughly a year now and it had been the best job he'd ever had. This had been the quickest that he had made friends in a new job and felt like he really fitted in with his co-workers. He could call these people his family, Bobby was more of a parent to Evan than his own parents were.
He felt at home with his work mates, unlike the other random jobs he'd had in the past like being a bar tender or the brief stint he had at being a bouncer. He didn't connect with people in those jobs and he didn't feel like he was making a difference like he did working at the fire house. But some things didn't change, like Evan's desire to keep his life separate from his work.
Working at the station made Evan feel excited about each new day on shift and he felt like these people were his family. They were a safe group of people to work alongside and call his friends.
"My uh, my first what?" He leaned forward in his seat and rested his elbows on the table with his hands tangled together.
The way Eddie grinned across at him and the knowing smile on Bobby's face made Evan relax and manage a smile himself. It couldn't be anything bad or somewhat awkward if they were being so relaxed about it.
"We were just talking about the annual summer party the station has every year. It happens to be next week."
"Oh, yeah."
It didn't seem that long ago that they had all been having a barbeque a month or so back.
Evan remembered when he first started at the station they had been throwing a big party here but he didn't feel close enough to anyone to attend. Then there had been the halloween party, the pictures made it look like a successful night, but Evan didn't go to that one either. Finn didn't like halloween so Evan had made sure he had the night off to stay home.
And as for the Christmas party they had, Evan had been on shift that night and he wasn't really bothered about attending so he was happy to work while everyone else went out partying.
They seemed to make any excuse to have a party, not that Evan was complaining. He'd never had parties at any other places he worked at before. This was a pleasant change.
Bobby had talked about them always doing a Christmas party and finding a few extra people to cover the shifts so the 118 could go all out and enjoy the festivities. Evan guessed they would do that for the summer party too, find more staff to cover so as many regular staff as possible could attend.
"Yes we are, and I'm hosting this year." Bobby grinned as he set down a large bowl of lasagne in the middle of the table and took his usual seat next to Evan.
Usually they had as many parties as they could in the station to promote families being around and being included. But they couldn't have a summer party indoors. It was the middle of the summer and that meant they needed to be outside, in the sun and the sweltering heat. It was more of an occasion when a party was at someone's house and Bobby and Athena were always up for hosting parties.
"Are you gonna come to this one?" Hen reached across the table and started to dish up the lasagne onto everyone's plate but her smile was directed at Evan. They always invited him but he hadn't attended one of their parties yet.
It was strange for the team to have someone like Evan in their midst. Someone who was so bubbly, excitable and eager and like a bubble of fun. He was one of them, well and truly, but he was still somewhat distant with the team. They were only just beginning to learn about Evan's private life. They knew he had a turbulent relationship with his parents. They knew he was married and had two kids but Evan didn't talk about them that much.
They had only just met Evan's wife last month and that was a flying visit. Eddie was the only one out of the whole team who knew (Y/n) because he had been to Evan's house and Evan and (Y/n) had taken care of Chris a few times.
"I guess I could swing by for a while."
"Really?"
A bubble of adrenaline sparked up in Evan's chest and he nodded when Hen sounded so enthusiastic and Eddie grinned and gave him a thumbs up. They wanted him there. They really wanted to be around him and interact with him. Evan guessed they really were becoming his family now.
"Can I bring my family with me?" Evan almost felt guilty for asking but if he was going to do this, he wanted his family there with him. He knew parties meant bringing loved ones along but he wanted to be sure, he would never want to turn up and then feel like no one wanted his family around.
Everyone had been kind to (Y/n) when Evan brought her to the station and he was glad she was starting to become friends with the people he classed as his family.
Evan knew his wife wasn't very outgoing so it was nice for her to be around more people.
"Of course you can, kid. Our parties are for everyone, we're all one big family here and you're included in that. Bring whoever you like." Bobby clapped a hand down on Evan's shoulder and nodded at him reassuringly. They all brought their families round, it was a party, an occasion to be together and have fun and games and eat and just be together without the threat of having to rush off on a call.
"I was wondering…" Evan looked down at his plate before he glanced up. This was something he had been wanting to ask everyone and now was a better time than ever. "If you'd all like to come round for dinner, with my family? It'd be easier to get to know them before the party."
It would be a lot easier for everyone if the team could come over to Evan's house and meet (Y/n) and the boys first before he brought them to the party. (Y/n) and Finn didn't last long at parties for various reasons and Cole would be the only one who would be fine to stay for hours.
Evan wanted them all to get along and know each other like Eddie knew (Y/n) and the boys. Evan wanted that relationship with all the team. They were his family now and they meant the world to him.
Evan knew (Y/n) was already excited at the prospect of getting to know the people Evan worked with. She felt like she already knew them from the stories Evan told her when he came home from shift and her first meeting with the team had gone great. It was (Y/n)'s idea for Evan to invite them round for tea one day so they could all get together in a relaxed setting. And Evan wanted that to happen now before the party so at the party, everyone would be more familiar.
"That sounds lovely, you have two boys, don't you?" Hen never wanted to push the subject of family when she was around Evan.
She didn't want to make him feel like he had to open up and talk about his private life if he didn't want to. But when Evan talked to them in a few calm moments, he had said he had two boys with (Y/n). He didn't say much else though, not their names or their age and (Y/n) hadn't mentioned when they saw her a few weeks back.
"Yeah, we've got twins, Cole and Finn. They're four… um, I know you guys won't make a fuss, but just so you know, Finn's autistic. He's non-verbal."
Evan glanced his eyes around the table. Eddie and Chimney knew. Eddie had met the boys before and Chimney was close to Maddie who was close to the boys. He needed to tell them now before they came round and got a little surprise when they met the twins.
"He doesn't speak?" Chimney kept a smile on his face and tried to control his tone so Evan didn't think he was being rude. He didn't know anyone with an autistic child and all of them knew disabilities varied.
"Oh, no he… he won't say words, but he isn't exactly quiet. He babbles. A lot of random noises, and if he wants something he'll just grab you and take you to it. He loves meeting new people, he's taking a liking to Eddie."
Finn didn't say a lot of words. He could say a few things like his name or a mushed up version of random, compiled words. And Finn could understand every word spoken to him, he just couldn't quite talk yet but they were hoping he could start to learn soon. He would make a lot of noises, squealing when he was happy, screaming when he was sad. A lot of high pitch babbling when he was playing or concentrating or just happy.
When he first met Eddie, Finn attached himself to him. He took his hand and guided him into the kitchen and waited patiently for Eddie to make him a drink. Then he followed him around like a little shadow, always wanting to be close and entertained by him.
"I can't wait to meet him."
"Oh… and uh, no one has a problem with dogs, do they?" Evan glanced around the table as a light bulb went off in his head.
He'd almost forgotten about Dodger.
"Wow, full house, twins and a dog?" Bobby pushed his plate away and moved to grab his drink. It had been a while since Bobby had had a full house with Harry going to stay with his dad a lot and May getting ready to move out.
"Dodger's a service dog, for (Y/n) so if he starts barking or circling, don't mind him."
"What kind of service?" Hen could think of at least five different reasons someone would have a service dog and she wouldn't want to presume anything. But since Evan was opening up, she thought it might be good to get him talking to them. (Y/n) hadn't brought her service dog into the station when Evan introduced them, but Hen figured that was because Evan hadn't been on shift those days.
"(Y/n)'s got narcolepsy, random sleep attacks and cataplexy. You're all in for a treat when you come round mine next week."
***
Evan rolled his lips together and tilted his head to the side when he walked into the kitchen. His eyes darted between Dodger and (Y/n) before he slowly walked over to them both.
(Y/n) was stood near the sink, two glasses and two beer bottles in front of her. She looked like she was re-filling the drinks for everyone, but her hands were subtly shaking on the counter and she was stood motionless. When Evan looked down at Dodger, he could see the golden brown Labrador was sat faithfully at her left side. Nudging his nose against her leg and shifting his front feet around like he was tap-dancing.
A jolt ran through (Y/n)'s stomach and her chest tingled when a strong pair of arms bound around her waist. She tilted her head back onto Evan's shoulder and glanced up at him, moving a little so she could catch his jaw with a kiss.
"You spaced, sweetheart." He spoke quietly against the top of her head while his hands danced over her stomach and slipped beneath her shirt to feel her bump.
"Hm," Her head tilted to push into the crook of Evan's neck and she moved her hands to cup his wrists.
With her narcolepsy, (Y/n) had a lot of side effects. Whenever she or Evan told people about her condition, they immediately jumped to the conclusion that she was lazy or just had a lot of naps during the day.
No one seemed to realise the side effects it had. (Y/n) had to schedule her sleep, go to bed at roughly the same time and try to get up at the same time each day to regulate her body clock. She was excessively tired most days. She had random sleep attacks that could be for a few seconds or a few minutes or even longer, they didn't always happen. (Y/n) could go three or five days or even a week or longer without an attack of any length.
It affected her dreams, she had vivid dreams, horrid nightmares, she acted out and lashed out in her sleep and unintentionally rolled onto Evan or hit him by mistake. She got sleep paralysis quite often.
Headaches were continuous. And narcolepsy came with cataplexy, which was where she had sudden loss of muscle control. That could be her jaw slacking, her head dropping forward, her legs going numb and giving out on her. Slurred speech or difficulty focusing or paying attention.
"You okay?" Evan spoke into her hair and leaned his cheek against the top of her head.
"Yeah, didn't last long."
She hadn't spaced out for long. It didn't happen too often that (Y/n) had microsleeps where she would either close her eyes or her eyes would stay open but her mind would shut down for a few seconds. It could last between ten seconds to a few minutes for a microsleep but (Y/n) didn't get them very often.
"Have you slept today?" Evan kept one arm curved tight around (Y/n)'s stomach while he reached across the counter and finished pouring the two glasses of juice (Y/n) had started.
Routines for sleep helped (Y/n) and she tried not to take naps during the day to keep a regular sleep schedule. But now she was pregnant again, she was trying to take at least one small nap during the day. It stopped her feeling so tired and lessened the chances of random sleep attacks. It was hard enough looking after the twins when they weren't at nursery, (Y/n) didn't need to collapse in front of them.
"Not today," She hadn't had chance to take a nap today, not with the boys being pumped up and excited about having people over for dinner. There was a lot for (Y/n) to prepare and get ready and now the team were here, there was no way she could take a power nap now.
(Y/n) slowly turned around in Evan's arms and pressed her hips up against the counter while her hands roamed up and down his chest. She loved the way his hands squeezed her hips and tried to slip beneath her leggings until she shimmied to stop him.
"We have guests- Finn, what are you doing to uncle Eddie?" Her hands scrunched up into Evan's shirt when he stood closer between her legs.
But both their heads turned to look over at the kitchen doorway when Finn appeared. He had a wide grin on his features, obscured by his thumb that he was biting down on. And his other hand was tightly gripping Eddie's hand as he dragged him from the conservatory where they were having dinner and brought him all the way through into the kitchen.
Eddie had his free hand on his hip, but he was happy to be shown around by Finn. The moment Eddie walked through the door, Finn had attached himself to his leg while Cole had gone straight to Bobby because he knew he was the Captain at the station.
Evan leaned closer into (Y/n) and grinned when Finn toddled past him and dragged Eddie behind him like he was a dog on a leash.
He moved towards the fridge and stood in front of it, pointing up at the fridge as he started to make a noise that sounded somewhat like 'wow' over and over.
"What're you after?" Eddie leaned down and scooped Finn up into his arms so he could look into the fridge and find what he clearly wanted. When Finn pointed to the small cartons of apple juice, Eddie held one out towards (Y/n) and waited for a nod of approval before he handed it over to Finn and set him back down to his feet.
Evan held out one of the beer bottles towards Eddie on his way past following after Finn.
"Shall we?" He mumbled quietly in (Y/n)'s ear, keeping his arm tight around her waist as he grabbed the two glasses in one hand while (Y/n) got the other beer bottle. She leaned her back into Evan's chest while Dodger trotted faithfully by her side.
She didn't always take Dodger out with her but she did if Evan wasn't with her. The moment he started working at the fire station, Evan started to worry. (Y/n) was at home alone with twin boys, one of whom was always on his feet and quite a handful. He didn't like the thought of (Y/n) collapsing or hurting herself or falling unconscious with toddlers around and no one to help.
Dodger solved that problem. He could sense (Y/n)'s heartbeat and if her heartbeat dropped, then she was about to fall asleep. He whined and cried and nudged her arm or circled around her legs to get her to sit down. If she dropped or fell, Dodger would try and let her fall on him so he could nudge her onto the floor. And if (Y/n) had a microsleep, he circled around her so if they were in public, people knew something was wrong. Dodger would bark at any stranger that tried to come near or touch (Y/n).
They headed into the conservatory and (Y/n) placed the beer down in front of Bobby before she passed behind him to sit down next to Hen.
"Do you drive the truck too?" Cole leaned back in his seat and looked up from the toy truck in his hand towards Hen who was sat on his right. He was happily wedged between Hen and Chimney while Bobby, Evan and Eddie on the other side of the table. And Finn was happily sat on Evan's knee, although his focus was mainly on Eddie.
"Sometimes, but I normally drive the ambulance."
"Can daddy drive the ambulance?" He looked between Hen and Bobby, waiting patiently for an answer as he had been asking questions since the moment they arrived.
"We don't let your dad drive, he's Mr speedy."
Evan tilted his head up with a proud smile when Cole grinned and murmured "I like daddy's driving." He put his truck down next to him on the table near Chimney and started to eat his dinner again.
"That's only because I don't drive." (Y/n) glanced her head up and bit her lip when Evan's foot glided up her leg and nudged her in the knee in retaliation. The boys weren't used to anyone but Evan and Maddie driving them around, and it was mainly Evan.
If they went out with (Y/n) she had to walk or take the bus and wear her sunflower lanyard just in case she had an episode while they were out. The boys were used to Evan driving so if he cut the corners or went a bit fast, that was a normality to them and they felt safe with Evan because they were used to his driving. (Y/n) couldn't drive, she had never taken lessons and never could. It would be too dangerous.
"So, how far along are you?"
"Five and a half months." (Y/n) absentmindedly smoothed her hand across her abdomen as she smiled across at Hen. She leaned across the table for a piece of garlic bread and held one out to Finn. The four year old was currently stood up on Evan's lap, leaning back into his chest with their heads pressed together. It would make for a lovely photo since Finn was grinning madly.
"So we've only got Buck for another three months then?" Bobby knew Evan would be asking him for annual leave soon. Evan wanted to get his time off sorted out now so it was set in stone. He had to be home for at least two weeks after the baby was born. When (Y/n) had the twins she hadn't been well at all and Evan didn't want that happening again with him not being able to stay home and help her.
"Afraid so."
"I don't know how you're all gonna cope without me."
Evan leaned his head to the left and a soft smile flooded his face when Finn started to kiss his hair. He began making a bopping sound while his hands rested on Evan's shoulders to keep himself stood upright on his dad's lap.
A new line of conversation flooded the air and Evan tried to keep focused and chip in but his eyes kept landing on (Y/n) across the table.
She had her chin resting on her hand with her elbow propped up on the table and her other hand was on her stomach. But it was the dazed look in her eyes that worried him. She wasn't talking either and if she started to drift, she might end up having another microsleep.
He moved his leg beneath the table and rubbed his foot up against her knee to try and grab her attention. The action made (Y/n)'s lips twitch and she lifted her eyes to look at Evan before she tried to look back at Hen for the conversation. She had one of her usual headaches. She had been feeling a lot more drowsy and tired lately and she knew it was because of the baby.
(Y/n) didn't feel so ashamed or embarrassed now to say that she was overly tired or that she needed to start taking naps during the day again. She was pregnant and was already looking after twins.
She always used to feel like she needed excuses to be tired, so people wouldn't think she was lazy. Evan always put her mind at rest. She had a condition that couldn't be cured or helped, it could only be controlled. And Evan never wanted (Y/n) to feel like she had to find excuses to explain the way she felt. Especially not around him.
"Thank you." Evan whispered quietly when Finn kissed his temple and leaned over to hug him. He moved his hands from his dad's shoulders to wrap them around Evan's neck and he giggled when Evan started to sway them from side to side.
Whenever Finn couldn't sleep ever since he was a toddler, Evan used to pace up and down the room swaying him back and forth. Evan barely got whiplash or felt dizzy from the hundreds of times he had gone in circles because the motion was so soothing to Finn.
Evan smiled as Chimney started to go into the long-winded reasoning behind his nickname.
But his smile started to drop when he heard Dodger suddenly bark.
Evan lifted his head and leaned towards Eddie on his left to try and look over the end of the table. Dodger was prancing his weight between his front feet and he started to nudge his nose and mouth against (Y/n)'s thigh. That meant he was sensing (Y/n)'s heartbeat starting to drop.
She was going to fall asleep.
"Sweetheart-" Evan bolted up from his seat when (Y/n)'s head slipped off her hand and dropped forward.
Her arm flopped down onto the table with a loud thud but before her head could land in her dinner, Evan swiftly caught her. He juggled Finn in his left arm, keeping the toddler pinned against his chest while his right hand pressed against (Y/n)'s temple. He leaned his hips into the table and leaned across, trying to stop himself from landing in anyone's dinner.
His thumb swiped across (Y/n)'s hairline while he tensed his elbow to keep his arm straight and hold (Y/n)'s weight up. He could feel her chest digging into the edge of the table, she had gone fully limp which meant this was more than a microsleep like she'd had earlier.
"Wow, hey I've got her. Good catch." Hen placed her hand over Evan's on (Y/n)'s temple and swooped her free arm around (Y/n)'s shoulders so he could carefully reel her back. She leaned (Y/n) back in her chair and held the back of her neck so her head didn't flop back and cause her any neck pain.
Eddie wordlessly reached out to take Finn while Evan scooted round the back of the chairs and moved next to (Y/n)'s chair.
"Good boy." Evan clicked his tongue and pointed until Dodger backed up and sat near the conservatory door just behind (Y/n)'s chair. He knew to move back when Evan was around but he always stayed dutifully close just in case he was still needed.
Evan pushed up on his knees and rubbed one hand up and down (Y/n)'s knee while he cradled the side of her neck in his other hand. He let her head loll to the side so she was facing him and he pressed his fingers over pulse just to check it was still steady and calm.
"Can we do anything?"
"She'll come round in a minute, she's fine."
He leaned over to kiss (Y/n)'s shoulder while he waited. It didn't usually take long for her to come back around. Evan had only had it once where (Y/n) had a sleep attack that lasted half an hour. That was the longest he had ever known (Y/n) to have an attack for and it had scared the daylights out of him.
"Mummy falls asleep but dad always catches her." Cole grinned up at Chimney before he glanced down at the other end of the table.
It was a normality for the twins. Cole was used to seeing his mum space out or see her stumble when her legs gave out from her cataplexy or when she head-dropped frequently like this. He had been brought up to know it was normal for his mum and that it wasn't scary or dangerous and he knew how to help if it happened when they were alone. And Cole always knew his dad would look after (Y/n) when it happened.
Finn didn't seem to take much notice. He had grown up around this happening so it wasn't frightening for him. He would just sit by (Y/n) and wait for it to wear off which was a relief for Evan to know it never scarred Finn or sent him into a meltdown.
"There we go," Evan's thumb brushed across (Y/n)'s cheek and he smiled when a small groan murmured past her lips.
Her head leaned into the palm of his hand and her eyes started to flutter and blink rapidly. A headache burned behind her eyes and spots danced in front of (Y/n)'s eyes when she managed to focus her sights on Evan. She must have dropped off for him to of moved so quickly down in front of her like this.
A shiver rolled down her arm when she felt Hen gently take her left wrist and check her pulse out of habit.
"I- sorry… how long?" (Y/n) tilted her chin down into her chest and tried to clear the fuzzy feeling from her head. It always felt like her head was being filled with air and the blood drained down to her toes. She shakily reached her hand up to hold Evan's wrist and brush her thumb across the back of his hand.
But when she looked over at Eddie, her expression dropped as he checked his watch. "Half an hour."
"Oi! Don't panic her like that." Evan reached behind him and swatted his hand out against Eddie's knee who rose a brow and grinned. He knew (Y/n) couldn't tell how long she had zoned out for and she hated to have an episode in front of friends in case it did last a while and she ruined things. "You were out for a minute, baby. That's all."
Leaning forward, Evan kissed her shoulder before he reached out and grabbed the stool in the corner. He dragged it across so he could sit at the end of the table close to (Y/n). Now she had had one episode, she was liable to have another and he wanted to sit nearby ready for if another happened and he had to catch her again.
Evan had acquired lightning reflexes since being with (Y/n) and he thought of it as his super power, being able to catch her before she fell or her head dropped.
He curved his arm around her waist and gripped her thigh soothingly while (Y/n) held his arm and leaned her head on his shoulder.
"Does it happen often?"
"It's not as bad as it used to be… when I had the twins my cataplexy flared up every day." (Y/n) shivered at the thought. She could still remember when she was pregnant with the twins and the amount of times her head would drop or her legs would give way.
She remembered having to call Evan at work and ask him to come home because she'd had an episode and her head had slammed so hard and fast into the dining table that she gave herself a nosebleed that wouldn't stop.
At least with this pregnancy, so far things felt a little easier and her cataplexy wasn't playing up nearly as much.
Eddie leaned back in his chair and looked up at Finn when he started to babble something. The four year old began tapping his palm against his lips, making an odd popping sound that distorted whatever he was trying to say. Usually Finn's sounds weren't related to anything he wanted, he would make happy sounds or mush up words but if he wanted something he would just point.
"What's up mister?" He bounced Finn on his hip until Finn stood up on his thighs and pointed his hand over at Evan and (Y/n). "What… do you want your dad?"
Evan leaned back against (Y/n)'s chair and grinned over at his boy, but the smile faded from his face immediately when Fin started to babble.
"Daddy. Daddy, daddy. Daddy."
"Oh my God," (Y/n) pushed forward in her chair, bracing her hands on the table as she darted her eyes between Finn and Evan. She needed confirmation that she'd just heard that correctly. Did he just say that?
"What?… You said he babbles-"
"Yeah but he's never said my name before." Evan ran his fingers through his hair before he pushed up from the table. "He's never said a proper word- he's said my name!"
Finn didn't speak. That was why Evan had told the team beforehand about Finn being autistic and non-verbal. He could say something that sounded similar to his name which usually came out as 'min-min' when he babbled. He made a lot of strange and happy sounds and 'ow-wow' noises but Finn didn't pronounce or speak.
The doctor had said there was every possible chance that in the future and when he went to a school that focused on speech and language, Finn had a good chance of talking. He might not say full sentences or pronounce properly, but there was a chance of him talking. He could understand words. Finn knew every word that was spoken to him and he could comprehend speech and conversations he just didn't respond.
(Y/n) could feel the tears welling up in her eyes when Evan bolted up from his seat and leaned across the table to take Finn from Eddie.
He settled Finn on his chest and planted a sloppy kiss on his cheek, unable to stop the broad smile from lighting up his face. He sat back down next to (Y/n) and started tickling Finn who continued to repeat 'daddy' so loud and fast it mushed together and came out all jumbled. But when he started to tap his hand on Evan's shoulder, it just cemented that he knew what he was saying.
He knew who Evan was and how to say his name.
(Y/n) perched her chin on Evan's shoulder and pressed her lips to his neck while she heard the rest of the team cheering. Evan was never going to let her live this down. He wasn't going to let her forget that Finn said his name first. That his first word, his first big achievement, was saying Evan's name.
"Daddy."
"Clever boy."

remus with reader who’s not overly affectionate. like she doesn’t engage in much pda but she’ll nudge her head against his when they’re sitting next to each other or hold pinkies when they’re walking side by side! just small gestures that aren’t obvious but sweet nevertheless
i love this request!! she's so me, lol. i've taken this and expanded a bit, so in this someone calls you out for this behavior and remus reassures you that he loves you just as is! hope you enjoy <3 | fluff, established relationship, a bit suggestive, 1k
Truthfully, you have never given it much thought. The way you and Remus function as a couple feels right, the most natural relationship you've ever been in, so why would you think anything about it was out of the ordinary? He's absolutely besotted, he tells you so very often, and you feel much the same.
He adores everything about you. He lets you take the lead on so many things because he knows you so well. You've got a reputation as a very "chill couple," whatever that means. Whenever you're at a party or a bar you often socialize apart until you catch each other's eyes over the crowd and he'll be at your side in a second. The familiar, solid heat of him as close as you want and no more.
Remus has never complained that you're not glued to his side. He seems perfectly content to have your hand in the crook of his elbow or your fingers on his knee under the table. You've just never needed that kind of grounding, never felt like you wanted to show that to other people. They don't need to be privy to your relationship.
"All it takes is one look to know how you're feeling, darling," he's said to you. "Those eyes give it all away."
"And here I thought I was mysterious!"
So, your tendency not to be overly affectionate has bothered neither of you. Until someone asks you about it directly at some party.
"Did you get together recently?" a girl you don't know asks. "Or are you just a flirty thing?"
You blink. "Sorry, what?"
"You and the tall one with the, uh, scars? I'm sorry, I don't know his name."
"Remus," you tell her. "I -- no, we're together. We've been together."
She laughs a bit nervously. "Oh," she says. "I just thought, well, he keeps looking at you but you guys aren't very touchy? Like, I only kind of know Lily and James but they are always all over each other, just so obviously in love and --"
"Alright, darling?" She's cut off by Remus's warm tone. You turn and find him at your side, a crease between his brows like he sensed your distress and came over to check on you. Knowing him, that''s exactly what happened.
"Yes, I -- can we get some air?" He nods and you hook a finger through his belt loop as he leads you away from the girl.
It's not her fault, not really. She certainly doesn't mean to make you feel bad about it, but you don't know her. And why are you feeling bad about it, anyway? It's never bothered you before. It's never bothered anyone else before.
And Remus has never said anything about it.
You spill onto the deck of the house and the cool air is a bit of a shock after the crowd. Remus immedietly shucks off his sweater and tugs it over your head.
"Hello," he says, once you pop your face through the neck hole. He fixes your hair.
"Hi," you say softly.
"What was all that?" He jerks his chin back at the house and you sigh.
"Not sure, actually." You link your pinky through his and tug his arm. He knows what you want, as always, and drapes it over your shoulder. "Well, that's not true. I know exactly what happened. She said something innocent that...got in my head."
"Really?" The crease is back between his brows. You want to smooth it away but you don't.
"Does it bother you that we don't do this a lot?" You roll your shoulders to indicate his arm. He looks even more confused.
"I'm afraid I'm still not up to speed," he says slowly. "Do what a lot?"
"Touch," you mutter. "Or like, be affectionate in public. I'm hardly ever touching you. I mean, she asked me if we were even together for fuck's sake."
"Woah, woah, alright," Remus says. He steps in front of you, hands resting loosely on your jaw. It's not an unfamiliar touch, though a bit of an intense one for you -- Remus has seen all of you many, many times behind closed doors. But it's more than you're prone to in public. "What can I do to make this better?"
"Tell me if it bothers you," you say petulantly.
"No," he replies. "Not at all. You're plenty affectionate with me, darling. You touch me whenever you want which is more than I ever dreamed of back when I was drooling over you and you didn't even know my name."
You wrap your hands around his wrists and lean into his palm. "We don't kiss, really." You don't know why you're arguing with him about this. Remus has proven time and time again that he's in this for the long haul.
"Is that so? What would you call what we were doing this afternoon? That was quite a lot of kissing, if I recall, and not all of it mouth to mouth --"
"Remus," you chide. He smirks.
"My point is whatever we do and how we do it is no one's business. I love how we are. I love how you are."
You close your eyes for a moment and feel the warmth of his palms, his sweater, his presence. It's not worth getting worked up over, he's right. Regardless of what people think, what it might look like, you and Remus are going home together at the end of every day. He loves you and he tells you as often as he can.
"I love how you are, too," you say softly and open your eyes. Remus is grinning at you.
"Home?" he asks. You nod.
"Home."
thank you for reading <3 reblog, send feedback, general masterlist here!

James Lee x fem!reader
James red hair era
𝐇𝐎𝐏𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐑𝐎𝐌𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐈𝐂
"I'm convinced no one wants me." You huffed out, complaining to your friend for the 29383829294th time today. You've never had a boyfriend yeah, even when you moved from America to Korea no one has ONCE asked you out. Even if people asked you out in your home town, it was clear that they had bad intentions with you.
Its not the fact that they were shorter than you was the problem.. Well it sort of was but not really— but it was the look in their eye that made you uneasy.
"Uh-huh okay anyways did you hear James got another trophy?" Your friend completely dismissed your complaints which made you Huff. All this talk about James and who didn't even know who he was.
Sure your friend had pointed him out a few times, but his back was turned to you. So you never saw the face to the name. "Really? What type of trophy" you pouted slightly. James seemed like a popular guy, though you were certain that most of the people who tried to approach him wanted him for his fame around school only.
"Poetry!"
"Oh shit, isnt poetry hard?"
".. You know what else is hard—"
"Okay buddy I'm going to stop you right there."
Bidding each other your goodbyes, you made your way to your down the hall, unaware of the pair of eyes that trailed your figure. In just a second, someone tapped your shoulder making you turn around and look at the person responsible for making you acknowledge them.
"Hello there." A smirk appeared on the guys lips, yes he was fairly attractive. And by that he was VERY attractive. You couldn't help but think he was familiar.
"Hello...? Have I seen you around?" Just with that sentence it felt like James's confidence had been crushed. Like a piano fell on top of him. But he didn't mind, thats what he liked about you.
He knew you didn't like popularity or didn't really mind much of the other students, though the downside was that you didn't know him... He knew you were just slow actually.
Like. You were sort of stupid actually.
"James. My names James Lee." He introduced himself while walking closer to you, moving his lollipop to the other side of his mouth to talk to you clearer.
You stared at him for a bit, one second. Two seconds. Three seconds. Click!
"OHH YOU'RE— OHHHHH" it was amusing how it took you a bit to know who he was. A face to the name.
"Yeah."He pretended to wonder for a second soon saying your name. You nodded and smiled.
"Yeah! Whats up?"
"Oh nothing much, just wondering if I could use a bit of your time if you're not in a hurry." Of course you just freed yourself, so you complied with his request. His smile widened, not in a weird way but more so as in a pleased way.
"Sweet okay, I just have a question is all." He wrapped an arm around your shoulder.
"What's your type?"
Your brain short circuited.
There was no way THE James Lee had just asked you that. Of course, you barely payed attention to your friends stories of the guy. He has seemed interesting due to the amount of accomplishments he had done, he was the star student of the whole SCHOOL. Who wouldn't be shocked? Not only that, but he was fairly attractive.
If anything, you were a sore loser compared to him. You were just an average girl, an average social life, and hella shy. Plus you sucked in most of the sports you played that being volleyball and basketball.
So why would a genius like him be asking you this sort of question.
"Uhm... Well.." How were you supposed to tell him that you have NEVER been in a relationship without getting embarrassed.
"I guess someone who can put up with me...?" A chuckle left your lips, your answer sounding more like a question after responding with an unsure tone.
The silence James gave you made it even worse.
"I see." He muttered, the smirk never leaving his lips.
Now holding hands with James after a month you stared at the flowers in the ground.
"Did I just get asked out by James fucking Lee." Only did it take a month for you to actually register that you had been in a relationship with the most popular guy in school.
"Yeah."
"What the fuck."
Tumblr media
Omg I posted this kinds of late but someone asked me if it was like another James story here and I had completely forgotten to post where I was inspired by for the story.
@spaceyflowerswriting! I didn't mean for it to look like their story, I was writing it during a school night rlly late so I'm so so sorry if it seemed like I had taken it😭

It’s You I Like
Tumblr media
Vash/Reader, songfic, 1500+ words I don’t normally write Isekai stuff for Vash but this was too good an opportunity to pass up, and I ended up liking it a lot so maybe I’ll do more little drabbles with this specific isekai!reader
"Well, at least we managed to stock up on everything before we left."
“...”
“You said the next town was, what? About forty iles? Doubt we’ll make that tonight, but it’s not too bad considering.”
“...”
“So I can set up the sleeping bags if you want to get a fire going, how ‘bout that Vash? …Vash?”
“...Hm? Oh. Oh! Y-Yeah, no problem… Here, here’s this.” Even though Vash responded to you, his gaze hadn’t yet left the direction the two of you had just come from as his bag thumped into the sand next to you. Or rather, not so much came from as fled from. You were just about to make yourselves comfortable at the local inn for the evening when someone managed to recognize your red-coated traveling companion, and it wasn’t long before the entire town was hot on your tail. Miraculously, somehow, the two of you managed to escape the hailstorm of bullets completely unscathed and with all your meager travel gear intact, but now you found yourself far past the outskirts of the town and left to your own devices in the barren wasteland.
Not like you had any room to complain though. Considering your sudden and unorthodox appearance in one of your favorite series, you'd much rather cling to the familiar presence of Vash the Stampede than risk your luck bumming around any other town on this desolate rock. How fortunate were you to not only find the spiky protagonist, but also to have him listen to and believe your wildly unbelievable tale of woe. Mentioning the SEEDS ships helped, you supposed. Now wherever Vash went you had no choice but to follow.
Again, though. Definitely not a complaint.
Vash was still quiet as the two of you cobbled together your camping site at the base of a large outcropping rock. There was a small smile on his face, framed by the fire's amber glow. But even without having read the manga and watched the anime you could tell it wasn't a real one. It didn't quite reach his eyes.
"You were probably looking forward to an actual bed tonight, huh?" He joked, gaze never leaving the small fire. "Welcome to the life of an outlaw! I assure you, it's always this glamorous."
"It's no big deal! Camping's not bad either, at least when you have the sleeping bags."
He didn't look convinced by your words, but he nodded anyway, an uncomfortable silence falling between the two of you. You kicked your boots off and pulled your knees to your chest on top of your sleeping bag, watching the fire crackle.
"...Is it hard?"
"Hm?" When you glanced over to Vash he was finally looking your way, elbow propped up on his knee and his cheek resting in his palm. Despite the casual pose there was a melancholy behind his eyes, a deep remorse. "Is what?"
"Running around like this. I doubt you're used to it."
"It's… Well I won't lie to you, it isn't easy." Vash barked out a laugh at your brutally honest response. You pushed forward, unabated. "But honestly? I'm probably safer with you than I am anywhere else on this planet. I don't know any people, any places… The only thing I really know is you." A prickling heat began to crawl up the back of your neck at your openness, and you rested the side of your head down on your knees as if it would deter the sudden fluster. "I'm really lucky you found me."
That seemed to catch Vash off-guard, as he began to awkwardly fiddle with his cybernetic hand as his gaze flitted around. "That's, uh, I mean… you've got a pretty skewed idea of luck, I think. Heh…"
There was an awkwardness that fell in the next extended silence too, but it wasn't quite the same. It was a little softer around the edges, more vulnerable. Off to your side you could hear the soft clinking of Vash disassembling and cleaning his gun, bits and pieces placed carefully across his sleeping bag to make sure nothing was lost in the shuffle. As you stretched your legs out in front of you in a v-shape, you hummed softly to yourself as you watched the embers stir and crumble into the sand.
"What song is that?" You glanced at Vash, biting back a chuckle at his furrowed expression, tongue peeking from his teeth as he stared down the empty chambers of his revolver with a cleaning pick and a look of intense focus.
"It's a children's song from home. It's from an old TV show, I think." You hummed the first line a little louder, just enough so Vash could hear the melody over the fire's crackle. You doubted he even knew what a "TV show" was, but he didn't seem too fazed by it.
"Do you like to sing?"
"I like it. I'm average, I think, but I always have fun when I'm singing." Out of the corner of your eye you could see Vash looking at you again. "Oh, absolutely not. Not gonna happen."
"Hey, I didn't even say anything!"
"You didn't have to! I could tell by your face! I'm not gonna sing, it's embarrassing."
"No it's not! Besides, you said you like it. And it's a song from Earth, too! I wanna hear it." He probably didn't even realize it, but he was flashing you those big, sad puppy-dog eyes that he didn't yet know you couldn't resist. You let out a small, irritated whine, hand finding the back of your neck and resting on the flushed skin there as you drew your gaze back to the crackling fire.
"...Fine. Just this once. And don't… Don't say anything weird."
"You got it!" You could see him salute out of the corner of your eye, and couldn't help the quiet snort of laughter that came from you in response. Dork. The quiet click-clack of him beginning to reassemble his firearm returned, so now was as good a time as ever, you supposed.
"It's you, I like."
There was a sharp tink! of Vash fumbling part of the barrel and it clattering down into the remaining pile of gun parts, but you were far too self-conscious to glance over and gauge his expression.
"It's not the things you wear. It's not the way you do your hair, but it's you I like."
You could feel him staring, but you kept your eyes locked on the low, rolling flames.
"The way you are right now, the way down deep inside you. Not the things that hide you…"
Stretching your foot out just a bit, you tapped next to the pile of gun parts sorted neatly on his sleeping bag.
"...Not your toys, they're just beside you."
He chuckled, so quietly that he probably didn't expect you to hear it. But you did, and it made your face positively burn.
"But it's you, I like. Every part of you. Your skin, your eyes, your feelings, whether old or new."
You couldn't ignore Vash's continuous shifting around any longer, flicking your gaze over to him. He'd turned himself completely to face you, cross-legged, chin perched in his palm, a look in his eyes so soft it made your heart feel like it was thundering right up against your ribcage. Your voice wavered for just a note, but you pushed forward.
"I hope that you remember, even when you're feeling blue."
Blue, so blue, his deep cyan eyes finding yours and not flitting away, watching you so gently, yet so intently. Despite your embarrassment, you couldn't find it in yourself to look away either.
"That it's you, I like. You yourself, it's you…"
He seemed to lean in at your every word, like a sailor to a siren. You hardly found your singing to be enough to hypnotize like mermaids in old fairy tales, and yet here he was.
"It's you, I like."
With your song ended, the silence that stretched between you was only interspersed by the soft crackle of the fire. A sharp humiliation suddenly rushed through you, face burning hot at your own vulnerability. Seeming to blink his way out of a trance, Vash began to speak.
"That was-"
"GOODNIGHT VASH!" You yelped, quickly rolling over and burying yourself in your sleeping bag facing away from him, the edge of the fabric pulled all the way up to your nose. He didn't push, letting you curl up and wallow in your own embarrassment, the clicking of his continued gun reassembly peppering the background silence.
And then he began to hum. Quietly, carefully, he felt out the unfamiliar melody.
"It's you, I like."
You could hear the smile in his voice.
"It's not the things you wear."
Warmth blossomed in the pit of your chest, curling up around your heart and settling fluffy and light. He was a good singer as well, his lack of familiarity with the song the only thing slowing him down. But he continued, metal bits and parts snapping together under careful hands as he sang your song.
"It's not the way you do your hair…"
Eyelids dipping heavily, you let them slide shut, Vash's voice filling the empty wasteland and pooling low and sweet in your tired mind.
As sleep began to fog at the corners of your mind, you were completely oblivious to Vash's fond gaze upon your bundled-up form as you began to drift into unconsciousness.
"...but it's you, I like."

— jjk campus crushes
gn!reader | itadori, megumi, yuuta, gojo
note from nia: yes gojo's is inspired by me getting stuck in the middle of a packed train and stumbling into people. Good God. i Wish i fell onto gojo. humiliation
ITADORI stares dumbfounded at the board while the professor speaks, not taking in a single word. he leans back into his seat and begins to contemplate either 1) dropping this class for next year or 2) completely changing majors. but his eyes glance over to the person next to him, easily taking notes and managing to go on their phone in between. that’s when you feel a poke at your shoulder and turn around. he offers an almost embarrassed smile before whispering, “hey, sorry, do you understand what’s going on right now?” you lift a brow and nod, albeit confused. yuuji’s eyes light up and he scoots closer. “awesome! d’you think you could uh…teach me? after class? or—or whenever you’re free? i kinda need this class for my major and…” he trails off and points at his basically empty page. “i think i’m screwed.” your lips twitch at the doodle of him(?) with question marks floating above his head, but you manage to stop yourself from smiling, feeling bad enough for the guy. you nod again before taking his notebook and placing it on top of yours. yuuji watches as you write something down and pass it back to him. “it’s uh, my handle and number. whichever works better for you.” his eyes scan your writing and he grins—if it weren’t for the fact you were basically a stranger, he would have hugged you. “thanks! i’m yuuji by the way. what’s your name?”
MEGUMI’s grip tightens around his umbrella handle as he pulls his hood further over his head. he thinks it’s just his luck to get stuck out in the rain on his way to class and sighs. but before he can feel any worse for himself, he hears someone walking quickly from behind him. he moves over to make space, blinking when he notices they’re walking with only their hands over their head. “um, excuse me,” he calls out. you freeze and turn around to the boy who was very obviously more prepared for the weather than you. “yes?” “did you want…to walk together?” megumi feels his face flush a little as you blink at him and he clears his throat. “my umbrella’s big enough, and it seems like we’re headed the same way, so…” there’s a beat of silence as you continue to stare at him—you’re not sure what kind of prank the universe is playing to get you drenched then have a cute guy offer to walk with you, but you don’t think you’re in any place to complain. “yeah, sure, if you don’t mind,” you reply. megumi finally lets himself breathe and he catches up to you, making sure you were covered. “thank you,” you pause and look at him. it’s his turn to blink before offering a polite smile. “megumi. and don’t worry about it.”
YUUTA tries his best not to rely on caffeine to get through the day, but he’s more tired than usual when he wakes up, which is how he finds himself in line at the nearest starbucks to his class. he overhears the cashier say your total and starts to recite his own order in his head in preparation. “yeah, um…” your hands pause inside your pockets and you whisper, “oh my god.” you sigh and yuuta watches as your shoulders drop.  “i’m sorry, i don’t have my wallet,” you explain with a forced laugh. “you can—can you just cancel my order? sorry.” “i can pay for you,” yuuta speaks up before stepping forward. you stumble over your words as he turns to you with a smile before taking out his card. “i’ll pay for them. and, and for me, actually—” he quickly adds on his own order, and you watch as he taps his card against the machine. the both of you step aside for the next person to order and you fiddle with your fingers as you look at him. “you didn’t have to…” yuuta only shakes his head and waves his hands. “no, it’s fine! you probably need the energy if you’re here this early.” you let out a breath and smile at him. “thank you, really. i, um, promise i’ll pay for your order if you ever forget your wallet.” the both of you realize that'd be unlikely, but maybe it's the thought that counts. yuuta snorts before covering his mouth and laughing a little quieter. you laugh at his reaction, too, and his face warms at the sound. it makes him feel a little bolder—“do you wanna exchange numbers so i could hold you to that, then?”
GOJO watches as the train fills with more people and scoots himself into the corner. it’s to be expected when it’s the best timed for everyone’s 11am classes. he’s lucky, you think, as you step on and realize you’re stuck in the middle with nothing to hold onto. you try to balance yourself as best as you can, but there’s a turn that happens a little too quickly. you lose your footing, stumbling into the man behind you. “woah there,” he says, stopping you from hitting the door. “god, sorry—” you apologize, your face flushed as you look at him. “nah, don’t worry about it. you okay?” you nod and stand up properly again, widening your stance just a little. “yeah, sorry. i just have shitty balance, i guess,” you awkwardly laugh. gojo hums and tilts his head. “d’you wanna switch spots with me? promise i won’t smush you.” your mind is quickly filled with thoughts of how embarrassing it is for him to have to offer. but it’s probably more embarrassing how you stare with your mouth open to respond, realizing how attractive the guy in front of you actually is. he smiles at you, and you wonder if he can read your mind before you push yourself to reply. “are you sure?” gojo grins as he steps aside and bows a little. “it’d be my honour.” so you find yourself in the corner, your eyes flickering between out the window and to him. his voice startles you when he suddenly speaks, “so, what class are you going to, and would you mind if we walked together?”

Playing with her hair - Vada Cavell X Reader
Y/N's POV:
"Why are people in horror movies so dumb!" my girlfriend Vada complains, "Like in the real world no one is stupid enough to do ANY of this. Like, no one would even pick up the phone in the first place!"
"Uh huh," I say to the girl sprawled out across my lap and the rest of the couch, not fully paying attention to what she's saying. I'm more focused on counting her freckles. A while ago, the question of how many freckles she had started to interest me and ever since it's been hard to get the idea out of my mind.
68...
69...
70...
"Y/N/N, are you listening to me?" she asks, breaking my trance, "am I rambling again, I'm sorry."
"Don't be! You're cute when you ramble," I reassure her. She looks over at me, a huge smile creeping over her face, her beautiful brown eyes shimmering in the dim light.
"In that case, I'm gonna keep going," she tells me, "what kind of dumbass decides it's a good idea to let their younger than six year old kid go out of the house alone on a rainy day!"
"Bad ones, I guess," I say absentmindedly. We keep on watching the movie we have on, neither of us really focused on it. without even thinking of it, my hands make their way to her hair.
"What are you doing?" she asks.
"Messing with your hair," I admit.
"Oh my god, are we acting like a normal couple?" she gasps.
"Do you not like it?"
"No!" she exclaims, "please don't stop."
"Oh my god, can I style it?"
"As long as it's not too fancy," she insists. One of the first things I ever learned about Vada is how much she hates looking fancy. She doesn't like the tight fitting "feminine" clothing, or the way makeup feels on her face. She hates the way her hair gets tightly pulled into an uncomfortable style, and then gelled into place. What's even worse is if she has to do all three of those TOGETHER. So I'm making it a point to keep it fairly informal, but still neat.
I run my fingers through her dark brunette locks, trying to get the various knots out.
"Ow!" that one hurt!" she squeals.
"Sorry, oh my god are you okay?" I apologize, hoping I haven't hurt her too bad.
"I guess," she says sadly.
"Will this make it better?" I ask, pressing a kiss to her forehead.
She looks up at me smiling, "so much better." I brush a few strands of hair out of her face before continue styling it. She climbs into my lap, facing away from me so I can better access her hair.
I start parting her hair, so that there's an even amount of it on each side of her face.
"Oh my god Beverly get out of that house!" Vada screams, practically jumping up at the television, "I swear these people are so dumb."
"Vada, baby, you need to sit slightly still for this to look good," I say softly.
"Fine," she pouts, "why is you doing this kind of relaxing?"
"Maybe I just have that effect on you," I suggest.
"No, normally you make me so excited and happy, like a little kid seeing a bunch of candy and a lot of stuffies!"
"Aww, that's cute," I smile, my face getting warm.
"You're the best girlfriend ever," she compliments me, "I don't know how I wound up with someone as beautiful and funny and all around amazing as you."
"Maybe it's because you're the best girlfriend ever," I suggest.
"No you are!"
"No you!" We continue to argue about who's the better girlfriend, eventually realizing that we'd never get the other to agree with our opinion.
I end up sorting her hair into two neat braids, not too fancy, but presentable.
"And voila!" I say, snapping a photo of the brunette to show her how she looks. She turns around quickly to view the photo.
"I look like Wednesday Addams if she had severe PTSD," she laughs, "but seriously, I love it."
"You do look like that!" I cackle, "what a funny coincidence!"
"Thank you, Y/N/N. I love it," she smiles softly, a blush creeping up on her cheeks.
"Sure thing, it was probably more fun for me than it was for you," I giggle.
"Well you can play with my hair anytime," she offers.
"Haha! You're gonna regret making that offer," I tell her.

Let Me Show You

As the warm sunlight filtered through the curtains, you stirred from your slumber, feeling the soft warmth of Robin's body beside you. It was Valentine's Day, and you had planned a special day for just the two of you. Gently, you brushed your fingers against Robin's cheek, inviting her to wake up with you.
As you both lazily opened your eyes, a soft smile stretched across your face. "Happy Valentine's Day." you whispered, leaning in for a tender kiss.
The start of the day was great. It wasn't until you two were in the kitchen, trying to put together breakfast that the phone rang, interrupting the intimate atmosphere.. Robin left your side to get it.
Frustration clouded your face when she made it known who was in the phone. "Steve, some of us have significant others who we celebrate Valentine's with." Her tone was playful, but you knew she secretly meant it. Every holiday started with a call from Steve. It was mostly to complain about him being single on such days. You and Robin had to invite Steve out of pity. You didn't mind it much. But Valentine's Day is the day for "lovers", not lovers and their friend.
You plucked the phone from her hand, "What do you want, Steve? Can't you see it's a special day?"
Steve's voice crackled through the line, his tone oblivious to your annoyance. "Hey, sorry to bother you, but I need Robin's help with something for work. It's kinda urgent."
You exchanged a knowing look with Robin. "Steve, listen up. Today is Valentine's Day, and Robin and I have plans. It's really not a good time for work."
Robin chimed in, her voice laced with both irritation and playfulness. "Yeah, Steve. Can't you see we're busy here? Leave us alone for a change."
Steve's tone changed, realization dawning upon him. "Oh! Oh, wow, sorry. I didn't realize it was Valentine's Day. My bad. I'll, uh, figure it out myself. Enjoy your day!"
As you hung up, Robin wrapped her arms around you, pulling you closer
You smirked, leaning into her touch. "Thought you didn't care for Valentine's Day?"
Robin chuckled, her voice full of warmth and desire. "I don't. I just want to spend time with you."
You pinch her side, "How about you let me show you just how head over heels in love we can be, without all the cheesy stuff."
The rest of the day was filled with shared laughter, passionate kisses, and sweet, intimate moments that reaffirmed your love for each other. With each passing moment and bruising kiss, you both realized that Valentine's Day was simply a day to celebrate the love you had for one another, regardless of anyone else's expectations.
And in the midst of stolen glances and lingering touches, you both knew that this Valentine's Day would forever be etched in your memories as the day you affirmed that love transcends clichés and thrives on the genuine connection between two people.
At the end of the day, you did feel bad for poor, lonely Steve. So, who would it hurt if you invited him over for a movie night? It isn't third wheeling if he's invited.

Some people in this website:"anyway, you deserve to die. We're happy that your loved ones get killed. We hope it'll continue and get worse for you. You are not human. You are evil incarnate. You live in Israel? You deserve it. You live aboard but came Israel? You deserve it. You're Jewish and didn't come from Israel? Wait wait first of all-how do you feel about Israel? No, we don't care that you're being attacked and killed right now we have to know that first. Oh? You oppose Israel? Welp, too bad, but honestly it's nothing compared to what the Palestinians are going through, stop complaining."
Israeli people:"Wait. So what are we supposed to do?"
People on this website"LEAVE! Go somewhere else!"
Israeli people:"To WHERE?"
People on this website: "Like, where we live for example. Trust us, we are the good progressive guys who care about minorities and human rights! :)"
Israeli people:"....yeah you know what, we prefer to stay here with the rockets."
.........
Alternatively:
Israeli people: "To WHERE?"
People on this website: "LOL, Europe or something? America? Just Not Here."
Israeli people: "Hi-"
Europe, America, Just Not Here:".... Were the last few hundreds (if not thousands) of years of kicking you out, killing you, telling you to go back to Palestine, not enough for you? Are the current pogroms and attacks to jews who are here not enough for you? Did you not learn your lesson? Are you really coming back? WE DON'T WANT YOU HERE!"
Israeli people: "Um. Did you guys hear that?"
People on this website: "Huh, what? The moment we stopped talking about you being Evil Colonizers we stopped caring."
Israeli People: "They said that they don't want us to be there either and will hurt us if we will."
People on this website: "Oh? Well, I'm sure they didn't mean that, you're overreacting."
Israeli people: "Look at the current antisemitism states in those places! Look at the long history of antisemitsm in those places! How are we overreacting?"
People on this website: "Uh, then in that case, have you considered that this might be your fault?"
Israeli people: "For WHAT?"
People on this website: "Being jews."

The Night Shift.
Tumblr media
Johnnie Guilbert x Fem!Reader.
part 17.
i groaned as I woke up, sprawled out in Johnnie's bed for the 4th day in a row. I rubbed the sleepiness out of my eyes and looked over. johnnie wasn't there. I mean, obviously, he wasn't. I checked the time, it was 7:30 on the dot.
I picked up my uniform off the floor next to the bed; where johnnie had tossed my clothes last night while looking for something. I giggled audibly at the memory.
I quickly slipped on the black t-shirt and black jeans, which were a nice contrast against my pink polka-dot apron. 'fuck, my apron' I thought back to my apartment where it was sitting, folded on my bed. what a great start to my night. I settled on using one of the spares in the back, even though they were boring compared to mine which was covered in pins and other miscellaneous things I could put on there.
I heard a soft knock on the door, "you up?" Johnnie's muffled voice called.
"yeah," I sighed.
johnnie walked into the room holding a mug. "you okay?"
"yeah, just forgot my apron." I stand up completely to meet johnnie.
"oh, sorry. I made this for you." he passed me the mug which was filled with coffee and creamer. "it may be ass, me and Jake don't make coffee that much."
"I don't really think it's possible to make coffee that tastes like shit. it's kinda hard to fuck it up." I rambled before taking a sip. it was surprisingly good, although it did taste microwaved. who was i to complain? i hummed, "this is great, thank you."
johnnie smiled in response, his bright blue eyes squinting slightly. i couldn't help but smile back. johnnie sat on the bed next to me while i was doing my light makeup, leaning back and sitting on his phone. i enjoyed the company, even if we weren't talking. i fought the urge to tell him that.
"anything special planned tonight?" he asked, breaking the comfortable silence that had tainted the room.
i hummed, "i think i'm just going to decorate for valentines. my parents are coming to town soon, they'll kill me if i don't use the decorations they send every year." i blurted.
johnnie paused, looking over his phone at me. i turned around and made eye contact with him. "your parents are coming to town?"
"uh, yeah," i hesitated, "why?"
"you don't talk about them much." he shrugged, switching his gaze back to his phone.
"i mean, what is there to say?" i mumble as i fill in my waterline. "they kept me in a box my whole childhood, they're really not my favorite people."
"i'm sorry, y/n." he shuts off his phone and places it on the bed next to him.
"no worries." i shrug it off.
"can i come help you decorate later?" he smiled.
i rolled my eyes, "johnnie, you really need to fix your sleep schedule." i scolded.
"that's hard to do and i wanna help." he whined.
"if you absolutely have to come help then i guess you can." i stood up after tying my shoes.
"i'll be there, just text me when you're about to start." he grinned.
"i will." i responded before starting to do my hair in the mirror. i tossed it into a half up half down type of style since it was easy and still hid my stitched relatively well. i turn to johnnie, "how bad do my stitches look?"
i watched as he stood up in front of me, looking down at my hairline. he gently adjusted a section of my hair before stepping back and smiling. "it's covered now."
my face felt hot from the interaction. i turned away quickly and grabbed my keys and jacket. "i have to go. i'll see you in a bit." i waved bye to him.
he nodded and waved back, giving me a soft smile before i closed the door.
i texted johnnie, iforming him i was about to start decorating. since it was the slowest time of the night, i figured i might as well get it over with.
johnnie: on my way :))
my heart skipped at the notification. i smiled, giddily waiting for his arrival. i twiddled my fingers, fidgeting with the decorations to pass the time. i looked at the laid out abundance of pink, red, and white decorations in front of me. eventually, johnnie walked through the front door. he smiled when he saw me, gently pulling me in for a gentle embrace. he smelled very faintly of cologne. i sighed, savoring the hug before pulling away.
"busy night?" he asked, following me towards the counter. he picked at his already chipped black nail polish.
"not really, that's why i was relieved to see you." i hand him a roll of double sided tape. "wanna help me start on the windows?"
he nodded, following my lead as i picked up sparkly, white tinsel. his bright blue eyes surveyed all of the options before settling on light pink, small heart cut outs. a comfortable silence had fallen between us as we worked. i began to line the first window with the tinsel as he miscellaneously stuck hearts. the soft jazz playing in the background was the only noise, not even cars were passing by at this time.
johnnie clicked his tongue as we admired our work done on both windows. "i have an idea, what if we put those big red hearts as an outline like, on the roof?"
i looked around, imagining his vision. "i mean, it's a good idea, but how are we even supposed to reach up there? i don't have a ladder or anything." i set the left over tinsel on the counter.
"you could climb up on my shoulders." he offered nonchalantly. i paused in my tracks, hesitating. "come on, it'll be quick and easy. if you're not comfortable with it, that's fine." he added quickly.
i pushed hair out of my face. "okay, sure. are you sure you can hold me up for so long?"
he waved his hand, "wow, i'm much stronger than i seem, thank you."
i roll my eyes, my gaze meeting his as i leaned on the counter. "i'm sure you are, that's my bad."
"well, let's get to work. come the fuck on slow poke." he kneeled down, helping me climb up on his shoulders.
"wait, this would be such a cute photo." i joke, taking out my phone and taking a picture of us.
"oh lord," he sighs, "get ready for the rumors."
"oh, no one is going to think anything of this." i shrugged his warning off. "i'll post it later."
"alright." he shrugged.
johnnie stood fully, making sure i was balanced on his shoulders. his veiny hands gripped my upper thighs tightly as i prepared tape for the first heart. "this is actually easier than i thought." i spoke aloud before sticking it onto the wall.
he scooted over, stumbling over his footing. my hands flew to his head, gripping his hair in attempt to keep some kind of balance. he laughed, his shoulders moving me slightly as he apologized.
"thanks for proving me wrong." i said, patting his hair down before preparing the next heart. "i didn't mean to mess up your hair, pretty princess." i teased, placing the next heart.
"it's already messy, there's not much you can do." he giggled, flipping his hair sassily.
we inched our way along the first wall. he almost dropped me a couple times, causing me to wrap my arms around him tight. i continuously scolded him, telling him to be more careful unless he wanted me to break something. he laughed it off, shaking his head.
as we made our way to the next wall, i began to feel light headed. "uh, johnnie-"
"what's up?"
"i feel really dizzy." i muttered, pressing my hand into my forehead.
i felt him tense up. "we can take a break. is it because of when you hit your head?"
"i mean- probably." he helped me down off of his shoulders, his hands never leaving me until i was safe in a seat.
"do you need anything?" concern tainted his voice.
i shook my head. "i'll be okay, i just need a second." i closed my eyes. i felt his hand lay on top of mine, his thumb rubbing my hand gently. butterflies erupted in my stomach. i kept my eyes closed, too nervous to look at him.
by the end of my shift, we had fully decorated the cafe, and it looked amazing.

Eddie thought he had finally stopped having aggressive thoughts about people he likes and yet, as always, Steve is the exception.
Eddie had been complaining all day. The demobat bites aren't that bad! He's already been there a week, which is longer than they'd initially told him and now they're insisting he stay longer, under a careful watch.
"It's probably for the best," Steve had tried reassuring him. "After Will got possessed they're being rightfully cautious."
But Eddie didn't care. He hates hospitals. He could have someone watching him at home, he doesn't get why it has to be there.
Steve had asked if there was anything that would make him feel better. Eddie had joked that a cuddle went a long way so, after double checking that it really is fine, Steve climbs onto his hospital bed and cuddled up to him.
And he'd looked up at him, resting his cheek against Eddie's shoulder, looking so sweet, voice so soft when he asks if "this is really ok with you, right?"
Eddie wanted to squeeze him. Not a nice or friendly hug squeeze - he wanted to wrap his arms around him and squeeze until something broke, until something finally cracked.
"Yeah," is what Eddie said instead.
It happened again, the day after he was finally released from the hospital. Steve had insisted on coming over, and had insisted on checking over his wounds and helping wherever possible. He ignored Eddie insisting that he's fine.
Which had led to Steve kneeling between his legs, hands painfully gently on his sides, re-dressing his wounds so slowly and carefully that it feels like Steve is worried that he's going to break, like Steve is worried that he's going to cause him more harm.
Eddie wanted to grab his face. Not a gentle, romantic hold- he wanted to dig his nails into his skin, scar the skin, make him bleed.
Instead, Eddie just thanked him, reminded him that he didn't need to do any of that.
And then again... And again. And again. And again.
It was starting to drive Eddie a bit insane. He refused to acknowledge why it's always Steve too. The idea feels too distant, a hopeless desire that would do more harm than any relief the understanding might bring.
So he carries on as normal, pretends that he isn't having those thoughts. Pretends he has totally normal friendly and platonic feelings for Steve.
Until one day it almost goes wrong.
Steve had been leaning on the table, writing some things he'd forgotten for his grocery list. Eddie wanted to be annoyed that he'd just got up and hurried to add the items to said list whilst they were in the middle of a conversation... But Eddie couldn't bring himself to care.
Instead, he decided to try and make Steve flinch. He grabbing Steve's waist, suddenly and a little tight, laughing at how hard Steve jumps.
"Jesus, dude," Steve tries to glare. He's laughing too much to look angry though, so he shakes his head and goes back to the list. "You move way too quiet for someone wearing boots that big."
Steve didn't push him away, didn't seem to care that Eddie stayed right against his back, looking over his shoulder to see what hes writing.
And his neck is right there. Bare. Eddie could easily just... bite it.
Eddie winces, realises that he's unconsciously moved so close that Steve can probably feel his breath on his skin. So he tries to play it off, tucking his chin on Steves shoulder instead.
"Hey, uh," Steve shifts, almost knocking Eddie off him, "do you wanna watch that Star Wars movie? They're re-releasing it for a bit."
"You wanna watch Star Wars with meee?"
Steve clears his throat, tensing up a little. "I... Yeah. But I mean, like, as a- as a date. You and me."
"Oh."
"I mean, if you want- it's fine if you don't! Like, no pressure? Just, uh, thought I'd ask or... whatever. Sorry, it's - I don't know, I've been, like-"
"Steve," Eddie quickly cuts off his rambling. "Of course I want to go on a date with you but you're gonna need to stop being so cute, right now, because I will bite you."
Steve laughs, so bright and happy, with his face flushing. He probably thinks Eddie is joking to ease the tension. But it made him smile, so Eddie keeps that to himself.

Warning: swearing, fluff, it gets a little angsty, comfort, a sprinkle of gun violence, a mugging.
A/N: I got it done by Friday. I did not think I could do it, but I did. I’m not sure part 4 will be up, but I will be taking the next week to try and finish other projects. If there’s anything you’d like to, let me know. Uh, this ended up being over 6k works, I hope you enjoy! Feedback is welcome.
Words: 6574
ao3 Part 1 Part 2 Part 4 Part 5
————
October 7
Y/N (7:30 am) Why is it so cold?
Jason Because it’s october
Y/N October just started! It should be illegal for October to be so cold so soon
Jason You’re the one who wanted to live in Gotham
Y/N I know But still
Jason: You lived in Gotham for how many years?
Y/n … Three
Jason: And you're still not used to the cold? and to think you chose Gotham
Y/n Shut up
Jason All because Gotham and I quote ~intrigues~ you
Y/n Shouldn’t you be at work?
Jason Shouldn’t you be in class?
Y/n I’m on my way there Why’d you think I’m complaining about the cold?
Jason Could have fooled me Maybe your heater broke in your apartment and it’s freezing
Y/n I would cry if that happened
Jason Don’t like the cold?
Y/n I don’t like getting sick
Jason Touché
Y/n But I also hate the cold
Jason It’s sweater weather
Y/n Still cold
Jason Fall is not cold Winters cold Fall is the perfect season It’s not too cold not to hot Perfect
Y/n Maybe for cuddling under the blanket and read
Jason That an invitation?
Y/n Wouldn’t you like to know
Jason Awe come on, little bird don’t shy on me now It’s been what? Three weeks?
Y/n Yeah But, uh I’m a little nervous It’s been a while since I’ve been on a date or something
Jason Ah I get that Honestly me too We can wait a bit longer and when we do meet up it’ll been in a public place
Y/n The confidence you have that we will be meeting is showing
Jason What can I say? I’m falling and I can’t get up
Y/n Oh my god You ruined the moment
Jason ‘Twas the plan
Y/n You dork
Jason No but really I really did fall and now my ass hurts
Y/n What do you want me to do about it?
Jason Come kiss it better
Y/n In your dreams
Jason Every night
Y/n I hope you step on a Lego
Jason First my ass and now my heart? Y/n you wound me
Y/n Sure, we’ll pretend your not into it
Jason I- Okay wow
Y/n Am I wrong
Jason I plead the fifth
Y/n Mm thought so
Jason Shouldn’t you be in class?
Y/N Yup, just waiting for the professor
Jason Is it true that if the teacher isn’t there after a certain period of time that there’s no class?
Y/n Some people think it is but no They always end up coming to class Unless there’s an attack of the school or something
Jason Does that happen a lot?
Y/n Like maybe every few months Don’t quote me on that, I barely pay attention
Jason I think that’s something you sure pay attention too
Y/n I did when I first moved here and now I just roll with the punches
Jason I really hope not
Y/n Like my guard is up when I’m out but other than that I guess, I don’t care?
Jason That’s even worse
Y/n That’s what my mom said too Oh look, the teach is here
Jason I'm more worried about you then I have worried about someone in my life
Y/n (12:20 pm) Hey You keep up with the news right?
Jason When I have time Why?
Y/n Have you heard anything about college students going missing?
Jason No I don’t think I have
Y/n Mm, not surprised I guess Apparently it’s a recent thing
Jason How recent?
Y/N Um, like a few days ago?
Jason And the cops haven’t done anything about this?
Y/N Nope Said they probably dropped out Some tried to report them as missing But they haven’t looked into it much
Jason How do you know this?
Y/n Rumors mostly Guess that’s why the cops won’t do anything But I don’t think they’re rumors I know some of the students that are missing Most are on the top of their classes Some are scholarship students, they wouldn’t do anything to jeopardize it
Jason Damn My brother’s a cop, I could get him to look into it?
Y/n You’re brothers a cop in Bludhaven What do you think he can do in Gotham?
Jason How do you know that?
Y/N Jason, we’ve been talking for awhile And sometimes when you complain about your brothers, you let information slip past. Not that I mind, everything you tell me I keep to myself But you need to pay more attention to what you’re talking about
Jason Right, sorry I forgot about that
Y/N Have you been sleeping lately?
Jason …no
Y/n Everything okay? Er, you don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to it’s fine
Jason No it’s okay I want to tell you I just don’t know where to start
Y/n Start wherever, and how much you want to tell me I don’t need the whole picture
Jason I guess I’ve been having nightmares lately
Y/n About when you died? Allegedly
Jason … Don’t know if I should be impressed that that’s where your mind jumps to or not
Y/n It’s a gift
Jason But yeah, that’s what they’re about Someone found me after, and took me in and raised me for a couple of years And then coming going back home It’s a lot I guess Sometimes I feel like I’m broken
Y/n I bet I’m not going to pretend that I know how you feel and I’m not sure what exactly what I can say And I don’t want to invalid your feels, you’re allowed to feel how you feel But you’re not broken, not completely anyways Maybe a little bruised and banged up And like any bruise, they heal with time Sometimes with help sometimes without All depends on if you want it or not
Jason Are you sure you’re not a shrink or something?
Y/N Pretty positive It’s something my mom told me sometimes
Jason Wise women
Y/n You have no idea So, if you ever want to talk, chances are that I’ll be awake at any time
Jason Thank you And as for what Dick could do? Not a whole lot, but he does have friends in the gcpd though
Y/n You think he can do that?
Jason Yeah, he owes me
Y/N He’s your brother Does he have to owe you?
Jason Our relationship is a bit complicated
Y/N You’ve mentioned But if he can do something, that puts my mind at ease a little I’m worried and maybe a little scared
Jason As you should Just be careful okay?
Y/n I will do my best
Y/n (11:30pm) So… Have you heard anything from your brother?
Jason Smooth It hasn’t even been a day
Y/n That’s me The ruler of smooth A lot can happen between now and when you talked to your brother about it
Jason All true you dork And yeah I have Turns out they aren’t just rumours He went to check out the students dorms are they left everything there Usually when someone leaves they bring some clothes and stuff with them right
Y/n Yeah, unless they were in a hurried and couldn’t care less then they would pack important stuff
Jason Yeah but they left everything there Phones, wallets, keys I’m not sure what the connection is and all that But the cops are working hard
Y/n Mm okay At least some things being done about it
Jason Mm
Y/n No sleep tonight?
Jason Not yet Helping my brother with something
Y/n You know, for someone who has a complicated relationship with one’s family You sure do help them a lot
Jason What can I say? I’m a family man
Y/N Is this your way of saying you love your family?
Jason So how’s your dad doing?
Y/N I cannot believe you pulled the same move I used on you, on me This is a disgrace Unacceptable
Jason I’m just using when you taught me
Y/N I didn’t teach you shit
Jason Well it worked, didn’t it?
Y/n Unbelievable
Jason Answer the question
Y/n Okay I guess Tired mostly Says he’s trying to keep busy but my mom tells me he gets tired easily There’s no win win
Jason I’m sorry
Y/n Yup
Jason Still repressing your emotions?
Y/N You know it
Jason I’m here if you want to talk
Y/N Thanks Jason That means a lot
Jason Shouldn’t you be sleeping?
Y/N Yes But I’m currently doing a project that’s due tomorrow
Jason Ouch
Y/N Did you know that the library I’m at is open this late?
Jason Why?
Y/N College students needs books
Jason Yes But you can take them out and bring them home
Y/N I left my library card at home so now I’m stuck here with the book I need until I’m done
Jason See, I want to feel sorry for you But something’s holding me back
Y/N I can see the compassion from here Anyways I should go home soon
My phone’s about to die and I don’t have my charger either, you typed out and before you could hit send, you were met with your reflection on a black screen. “No,” you whined, slumping back into your chair. “It’s fine. I’ll just use my laptop, it should work.”
Sitting up straight, you reached over to wake your computer up, you were met with the same fate as your phone. “No, nonono,” you muttered, frantically searching your backpack for your laptop charger. When you couldn’t find it, you dumped everything on the table, hoping you were just blind. But it wasn’t there.
You groaned when you came to the realization that luck wasn’t on your side tonight.
Sighing in defeat, you made a note of the books you were using and the pages before cleaning up the table. As you stuffed your backpack with your things, you took a quick glance at the clock on the wall and cursed. If you don't hurry now, you’ll be late for the last train for the night.
If there’s one thing you hated most about Gotham, it was walking home really late at night. And the last you wanted to do was that, also you didn’t want to make Jason worry.
With the rest of your stuff hazardously stuffed into the backpack, you raced out of the library hoping to make the last train.
Jason You good? Home yet? Is everything okay? Hellooo? What happened? Are you safe?
Nothing. There was no response and when Jason tried to call you, it went straight to voicemail. No matter how many times he called, it always yielded the same result.
Jason is not worried. He knows you're busy with your project. Maybe you misplaced your phone while talking to someone. Or you’re already on your way home and need to concentrate on getting home. He vaguely recalls you saying you take the train to and from school.
Lighting up his phone to check the time, he nodded to himself. Yeah, that was it. You were just busy and on your way home. Jason’s not worried, he’s not.
“You okay there Jay?” Dick asked in concern, “you look a little worried there.”
Okay, so maybe he’s a little worried and maybe a little scared of what could potentially happen. In Gotham…At night.
“Yeah, I’m fine,” Jason lied, trying to push images of you hurt away. It didn’t help that there was this group out there kidnapping college students. For what, who knows. Jason only hoped that you didn’t get mixed up in it.
Dick leaned in front of him and poked Jason’s forehead. “Are you sure? Your brow is pinched like you ate something sour,” he commented and Jason pushed him away with a scowl.
“Maybe he’s worried about his new friend,” Tim sang from the Bat computer. “It’s awfully late for a college student to be out in Gotham.”
Jason whipped his head around so fast, he was surprised he didn’t get whiplash. “How the fuck do you know?! I haven’t told you shit.”
“I’m a detective, Jason, I detect,” Tim pointily said, pressing buttons on the keyboard before a file with pictures of you showed on the screen. “Gotta say, they are kinda cute.”
“Why are you spying on them?” Jason asked, trying to keep his voice even. He was pissed he couldn’t have something in his life to himself. But his nosey siblings had to meddle in his life, love life too. It's like they have no life outside of fighting crime.
“I was bored,” he replied as Dick made his way over to the computer. No doubt curious on what Tim found.
“Don’t you have cases to solve?”
Tim shrugged, clicking through photos of you, which only served to piss Jason off even more. Why is it that he wanted to slowly get to learn more about you, that his brothers decided to do a deep dive without his permission? Times like these made him wish he stayed dead. “Your love life is more interesting at the moment.”
“Well, you can fuck off then,” he said, grabbing his Red Hood helmet from the nearby table and put it on.
“Where are you going?” Dick called over the roar of Jason’s motorcycle.
“Anywhere that’s not here,” he answered and sped off.
He had meant to drive aimlessly, but soon he found his way towards the library you were currently studying in.
He couldn’t get the images of you hurt out of his mind, and he convinced himself that it was fine to make sure you were okay. Otherwise, he’d be drowning in worry.
As he drove, he heard a cry for help. He almost dismissed it, thinking that someone who was on patrol would help them. But with his bike in idle, he heard it. Granted, the last time he heard your voice, you were all nasally with a hoarse voice from a sore throat. But he recognized you’re voice anywhere.
Parking his bike, he unholstered his gun and slowly made his way to the alley that your voice came from. Peeking his head around the corner, he saw you fighting with someone over your backpack. You held your own for a while, and Jason could only wait until there was an opening.
Was there a little part of him that wanted to see you fight? Maybe. but he doesn’t want to think about that now.
“Let go you asshole,” you grunted, pulling your backpack hard enough that the mugger tripped forward. Which gave you the time to kick him in the balls, hard. Jason winced at the impact and the mugger staggered backwards with a groan and you successfully gained back your bag. “Ha!”
“You bitch!” he yelled and lunged towards you. But before either of you could do anything, Jason surged forward and shot him in the leg. The both of you screamed, you at the sudden noise and the mugger at the pain. Without looking to see who was there, you ducked behind a dumpster, out of harms way.
Clever Little Bird, Jason thought as he stalked towards his prey. “Your mom ever teach you manners?” Jason asked. The mugger shook his head and begged Jason not to kill him. Jason was tempted too, but an annoying voice in the back of his mind, who sounded suspiciously like Bruce, whispered, don’t kill.
“Nah, I’m not gonna kill ya,” he grumbled and waved him away with his gun. “But if I see ya again, I ain’t making any promises.” He took it as it was, and limped away as fast as he could. Jason watched as he disappeared before holstering his gun and turned around towards you with a frown. You were curled in on yourself, hugging your bag tight.
“Hey,” he said softly, reaching out to tap you on your shoulders. With no warning, you quickly spun around and hit him with your bag. He winced as it collided with his chest, surprising him.
“Oh my god!” you exclaimed once you realized who he was. You dropped your arms from the next attack Jason had no doubt would have followed through. “I’m so sorry! I didn’t realize it was you.”
“What are you packing in there?” he grunted as he rubbed his chest, “fucking bricks?”
“Textbooks,” you answered sheepishly, hugging your backpack to your chest. “I’m really sorry I thought you were someone else.”
“No worries, I ain’t mad,” he said with a smile. Though you couldn’t see it given the helmet. “Hellva reflex though. Not many would fight back.”
You shrugged, tightening your grip on the backpack. The adrenaline must be wearing off, Jason noted. You were starting to shake. “What can I say? My flight or fight kicked in and there was nowhere to run.”
“Still,” he said, taking the moment to study you, and wishing he had shot the punk when he clocked the bruise forming under your eye. Other than that, there was nothing of note to worry about. Physically at least. Emotionally, he had no idea where your mind was at. “Are you doing okay?”
“Uh maybe?” you said, unsure yourself. You took a deep breath to calm yourself but it came out shakily. “I don’t know. I will be, once I’m home though.”
“Need a lift?” Jason offered, catching you by surprise.  You lifted your head to look at him, eyes narrowed. As if you were trying to see under the helmet. He stood there and waited. Eventually, you shook your head. Disappointment filtered through Jason but he pushed it down.
“Thanks, but I’m just down the street. Don’t think anything else can happen between here and there,” you said and Jason’s heart leaped at all the possibilities of what could happen.
“You’re gonna jinx yourself if you keep saying stuff like that,” he pointed out. You only shrugged and gave him a smile that made his heart skip a beat.
“I’m sure an angel is looking out for me,” you said, getting enough courage to pat him on the chest as you walked past him. “Be seeing ya, Red.”
Jason stood there for a moment and shook his head with a smile. You sure were something else. Though it was a short distance to your place, it didn’t stop Red Hood from following you until you made it to your apartment. Even then, he stayed on the roof adjacent to your building, waiting for your message saying you were okay.
You stood in front of your apartment door, keys in hand and frowned. With the adrenaline completely out of your system, and finally being alone, your mind raced with the events that transpired over the last couple of hours.
You had managed to make the last train and the journey was uneventful. It wasn’t until the walk home that your luck turned bad.
You were so focused on getting home that you didn’t notice the guy following you until he grabbed your backpack. You fought, Red Hood showered up surprising you and talked before going home.
You blinked at the memory. If you weren’t so in your head, you’d be giddy that you actually talked to Red Hood. You talked to Red Hood. What the fuck? You’re not even sure if you flirted with him near the end or not. But you were still processing everything.
You shook your head, trying to get out of it. You didn’t want to go inside. Going inside meant being alone, alone with your thoughts and that’s the last thing you wanted.
What you wanted was company, what you wanted was someone you haven’t even met yet, yet you knew you’d feel better after seeing him. You wondered if you called Jason, if he would pick up and ask to meet up. It couldn’t hurt to try.
With a half-baked plan, you finally unlocked the door. The first thing you do is plug in your phone, the second is to shower.
You wanted it to be quick, the faster you're done the faster you can leave the apartment. But you’re not sure what happened between grabbing your clothes and now. You just know that when you come to, your hair is wet and dressed in your comfortable clothes, and you find yourself standing in front of the mirror.
You feel better, if only a little.  You wince at the bruise and you could cover it up, but you’re tired and you don’t want to stay here any longer than you already have. Instead, you bushed your hair and leave the bathroom.
With your phone half charged, you grab it and your keys and wallet before leaving the apartment. As you walk towards the elevator, you open up your phone to see a few missed calls from your sister and Jason, and some texts from Jason asking if you’re okay. You made a note to call your sister in the morning and tried to ignore the guilt at seeing the messages from Jason. You pressed the button for the elevator, your thumb hovering over Jason’s name.
Maybe calling him will be a mistake, Despair whispered in your ear.
Or, maybe it’ll be the best thing in the world and you won’t regret it, Desire countered. And hope bloomed a little in your chest. With that, you pressed the call button without much thought and brought the phone to your ear.
One ring, you step in the elevator as you begin to second guess yourself that this was a bad idea. Second ring, you press the button for the lobby, starting to panic. Maybe he won’t pick up. Half of you hoped. By the third ring, you're off the elevator and almost hung up when the call connects.
“Little Bird?” Jason answered, and the grip on the phone tightened. You really didn’t think he’d pick up, and he doesn’t sound tired. For how late it is, anyways. If anything, he sounds awake, like he was waiting for something.
Guilt rears back into your stomach again when you realize he was waiting for you. Tears start to pool in the corner of your eyes, and you blink them away. You didn’t want to cry, that was for later, when you're curled up in a ball in bed. Waiting for sleep that you know will never come.
“Hey, you still there?” Jason asked, voice soft as if he knew that’s what you needed right now. Your heart warms at the person you’re slowly falling for. You clear your throat and hope your voice sounds normal when you answer.
“Hi,” your answer is a whisper, and you find yourself you don’t care.
“Hi,” he greeted back and you could hear the smile in his voice. “I’m surprised you're still awake. Figured you’d be in bed by now.”
"Yeah, me too. But I’m too wired to sleep,” you said, forcing your feet to move. You start walking out of the building and towards your favourite café that’s near your place. “Surprised you’re awake too. Still helping your brother?”
You’re so engrossed with your conversation, that you don’t feel eyes on you as you walk. And Jason hoped to keep it that way. “Nah, doing my own thing before going to bed. Surprised you called though. Usually, you shoot me a message.”
You stall for a moment, almost tripping on your feet, before walking again. “Er, yeah. Sorry I just…I don’t know.”
“You don’t have to say sorry. I don’t mind talking either. Besides, you've voice is music to my ears," Jason said, and you try not the blush with how casual he says things like that. "So, what’s up?”
You’re quiet for a second, chewing on your lip before blurting out the question, “do you want to meet up?”
You’re met with and you close your eyes at your stupidity. “Sorry,” you started, “that was stupid. You don’t have to if you don’t want to, I get it. It’s fine. Plus, it’s super late, like two in the morning late. And we should be sleeping but the thought of being alone right now scares me. And I don’t want to be alone and I just really need some company. And I thought why not Jason? I wanted to meet him for awhile and I’ve now realized it was bad timing and-”
“Are you sure?” Jason interrupted your rambling and you couldn’t be more thankful. You were positive you would big yourself in a hole you couldn’t get out of if you kept talking.
“Sure about what?” you asked dumbly, as if you forgot what you had just asked him. You’ve reached the café and stood in front of the door, peering in.
“That you want to meet up,” Jason said with a chuckle.
“Oh, uh yeah, I am sure,” you said with a nod. “I mean if that’s okay with you?”
“Sure is,” he said, “can I ask what brought this on?”
You're silent for a moment, debating whether to answer him or wait until he’s here to say. But you think of the bruise under your eye and you think it’s better to tell him now. “I, um, almost got mugged on my way home. He didn’t get my stuff, but he did clock me in the face. Could be worse though, but I don’t want to be alone right now.”
“Shit,” he breathed out, “are you okay?”
“Sorry,” you mumbled to the couple coming out of the café and stepped aside to let them go. You shrug even though he couldn’t see you. “Like I said, it could be worse.”
“Don’t. Don’t downplay what happened to you,” Jason said softly, “anyone would be shaken up after a mugging. You’re allowed to not be okay, sweetheart.”
The simple sentence is what breaks you, and you start letting the tears fall down your cheeks. “Damnit,” you mumbled, wiping your eyes with the sleeve of your sweater. “Have me crying in public Jason, not cool.”
“Sorry sweetie. Where are you? I’ll get there as soon as I can.” You rattle where you are and you can feel Jason’s smile through the phone. “I know the place. Order me a hot chocolate and I’ll be there in twenty.”
“Try not to break any laws now, Jason,” you muttered, though you smile all the same. Knowing you’ll meet Jason soon has you in better spirits since the incident happened.
“No promises.” With that, you hang up and walk into the building. You tell the barista your fine when she asks about the bruise and order your usual and Jason’s drink with a cake and find an empty table. You find yourself in the corner by a window, making your way over and you set your order down and sit facing the door.
You’re scrolling through your phone while you wait, trying to keep yourself distracted. And it helped with Jason texting you updates on what’s happening. You find it endearing, and a little silly, but it keeps you from spiraling and you're thankful.
Before you know it, you hear a roar of a motorcycle driving past, and you look up just in time to see them part in front of the building. You watch as they turn off the bike and climb off before taking the helmet off.
Breath escapes you as you recognize who it is, and pictures didn’t do Jason justice. Jason’s pretty, and you like the little white strip he has in his hair. It suits him, somehow.
Lifting your phone, you take a picture of him fluffing out his hair and type out a message saying you see him before sending it to him. You watch as he takes out his phone, frowning a little at the message. He whipped his head up and scanned the building until his eyes landed on you. All you can do is wave, and your heart almost leaps out of your chest at the smile he gives you.
It's brighter than you imagined and you're okay with it. Your eyes follow him as he makes his way inside. You stand when he makes his way towards you and you smile as he stands in front of you.
“Hi.”
“Hi.”
There’s a moment of silence between the two of you before you start to laugh. Not a full belly laugh, just a light chuckle as if someone told you a joke. You’re not sure why you find the whole thing funny, but you do. Maybe you're too tired to fully process it completely.
“Are you okay?” Jason asked, a little worried. He took a step forward, arms moving to give you a hug, but stopped himself. Worried that you wouldn’t appreciate the gesture, scared that you might reject his touch. Your heart warms at the hesitation and you make the decision for him. Stepping forward, you wrap your arms around him and practically met into his chest.
After a moment of hesitation, Jason wraps his arms around you, hugging you tight. It's one of the best hugs you’ve ever had, and you can't seem to remember the last time someone hugged you that wasn’t family.
“I am now,” you whispered, blinking away more tears. “Sorry if this first meeting isn’t exactly to your expectations.”
“Nah, I wouldn’t change this for the world,” he said, leaning back a little. Snaking one hand to your chin, he gently lifted your face to look at you. He hissed a little at the bruising and you can’t seem to find yourself to be embarrassed about. Not with the look Jason’s giving you, like you’re the only person who matters to him.
“That’s good,” you mumbled, blushing a little with the attention he was giving you. You pull away a little, only to pull him to sit down. Your feet started to hurt and you needed to let them rest. Sitting across from him, you wrap your hands around your cup and let the heat seep into them. “You know, I almost didn’t call. Was too afraid you’d say no or something.”
Jason leaned over a bit and took off his jacket and you tried to not openly stare at his arms.
“Don’t think I could say no to you,” Jason said, taking a sip from his drink as you averted your gaze to his face. “But I’m glad you called, I was trying to work up the nerve to ask you to a coffee date or something. Something always stopped me though.”
“Well, we’re here now,” you pointed out, leaning over the table with a smile. “Nothing we can do but move forward.”
“Wise words coming from a lady who thought I was asking for a booty call,” Jason said with a smirk. You gasped at the reminder, and reached over to pull the plate of cake you had bought to share with him.
“You know, just for that, I’m not sharing this with you,” you said, and moved the plate closer when Jason moved to grab it.
“Now that’s not fair, Little Bird. It’s been a tough night dealing with my brothers all night, I need a little pick me up,” he said, trying to grab the plate from you again. You moved it just before he could grab it, and stuck your nose in the air.
“Guess you should have thought about that before insulting me, good sir.” Jason snorted, mock surrendering. You giggled and moved the plate back to the middle. “How was your night? Anything interesting happen?”
“Nah, not really. Turned out he didn’t really need my help, just said that to rope me in for family supper,” Jason answered, picking up the fork and stabbing a piece of cake before eating it.
“If you’re gonna be mean to the cake, I won’t share,” you threatened, trying not to smile when he gave you a look. “Family dinner huh? Can’t be all that bad.”
“It’s not,” Jason hummed, “I get to eat Alfred’s cooking and there are some siblings I don’t mind hanging out with. It can be too much sometimes, you know? Like they lived their lives while I was somewhere out there being raised by different people, you know?”
“Mm not really but I can imagine,” you said, smiling when he snorted. “But they’re trying, that’s all you can ask for. Question is though, are you trying?”
Jason shifted as you stared at him with raised eyebrows. “What is this? An interrogation?”
“Can be if you want it to be,” you quipped back. Following his lead as he leaned forward.
“If anyone’s gonna do the questioning, it’s gonna be me.”
“You think so?”
“I know so, Little Bird.”
The two of you stare at each other, waiting to see who cracks first at the challenge. You blink and you know you’ve lost. “Yeah okay. But you didn’t answer my question,” you reminded him, leaning back.
“Yeah I’m trying, just hard,” he answered and he took a moment to study you. “Are you doing okay? Not to be rude, but you look exhausted.”
You snort and rub your eyes only to wince when you touch the bruise. “I don’t know. I haven’t really had time to process everything properly.”
“How’d you mean?”
“Like I didn’t sit down and cry about it yet. When I got home all I wanted to do was leave. But I forced myself to shower but I think I blacked out or something, I don’t know. I don’t remember it. After that, I left my apartment as fast as I could and called you.”
“Which I’m glad you did, but now you have to take a moment and let it sink in. You can take it now, let yourself not be okay, I won’t judge. Hell, I’m probably the last person to judge.”
You gave him a sad smile and slowly slumping down into your seat, trying to hide from the mostly empty café. As if sensing what you’re trying to do, Jason gets up and moves to sit beside you, angling his body so you’re hidden from view.
A wave of fondness washes over you, and you think he can’t surprise you anymore then he already has. Taking a deep breath, you slowly let it out and close your eyes. Listening to Jason and let yourself not be okay.
The night plays like a movie behind your eyelids and you fight to keep it playing. You  feel all the emotions that you managed to push away hit you like a truck, making you tear up. You cover your eyes with your arm and feel movement from beside you.
But you're too embarrassed to look, so you wait until Jason’s right beside you.
“I’m going to hug you okay?” You hear Jason whisper close to your ear. You nod and almost flinch when his arms snake around your waist, but you don’t. This touch is warm, caring. The complete opposite of the mugger. You feel safe for the first time that night.
You relaxed in Jason’s embrace and balled your firsts in his shirt as you cried. He sat there, rubbing your side, whispering that you’re okay, that it will be okay, and waited until you were done.
You sniffle when the sob has subsided but you don’t let go just yet. You’re exhausted, embarrassed that you ended up crying on Jason, and you're not yet ready to face him.
“You’re okay,” Jason murmured, squeezing you reassuringly. You only nod, moving slightly to wipe your nose with your sleeve. But as you move to do that, there’s a napkin in front of you.
“Thanks,” you muttered, taking it and blowing your nose.
“Feeling better?” Jason asked, moving slightly but he kept you in his hold. And you're grateful for it. His touch was something you could get used to.
“Yeah, much. I think I could sleep forever,” you joked, leaning into him you felt his chuckle more then heard it.
“Please don’t, I enjoy your company,” he said and you smiled. “I hope you feel the same.”
“I do,” you hummed, “I’m sorry for crying all over you. I think I got your shirt all wet and snotty.”
“Nothing to be sorry for. It was something you needed and I’ll gladly be your shoulder to cry on.”
Silence settled between you, and you closed your eyes feeling the need to sleep. The two of you stayed like that until Jason could feel your body relax into sleeping.
“Come on, I think it’s time for you to go home,” Jason stated, shaking you a little to keep you awake.
“Noooo,” you whined, pouting as you sat up slowly. “But I’m having a great time.”
“You need sleep,” Jason pointed out, collecting your garbage and standing to throw it out. When he came back, he put on his jacket and smirked as you stared. “We can always hang out another time. Maybe next time it won’t happen at three in the morning.”
“Promise?”
“Promise,” he answered, holding out his hand. You blinked at it before grabbing it and he helped you up. “Come on, I’ll walk you home.”
“You don’t have to have,” you said, quick to shake your head.
“Please? For my peace of mind,” Jason said as he walked the both of you out. “Plus it prolongs the time I get to spend time with you.”
Opening your mouth to argue, you stop yourself and feel the blush creeping into your cheeks. “Fine,” you agreed begrudgingly, though glad for the company.
The walk was short, you spent the time talking about anything that came to mind. And before you knew it you were standing in front of your door. Jason had insisted on walking you up, to make sure you didn’t trip on anything. He had claimed and you didn’t seem to mind.
You have thought about inviting him in, but sleep was calling you and you didn’t want to seem too eager.
“So this is me,” you said awkwardly, unsure how to say goodnight.
“I had a good time,” he said, smiling. You squinted up at him, only now realizing how tall he was.
“I ended up crying.”
“You had a bad night, you deserved to cry after what happened to you,” he countered. “Like I said, I’m the last person to judge.”
“I’m going to get that story one day,” you challenged, and he leaned down a little, smirking. Cocky bastard.
“I’m looking forward to it,” he said, and you gently punched him in the chest with a laugh.
“Text me when you get home?”
“Awe, you worried about me,” he teased. You rolled your eyes as you took your keys out and unlocked the door.
“I can unworry about you,” you said, swinging the door open. Before going in, you turned and gave him a hug, squeezing tight. “Thanks, for you know.”
Jason returned the hug and buried his nose in your hair. “Anytime. Glad you're feeling better.”
You stay like that for a moment before Jason lets you go. He cupped your cheeks and for a brief moment, you thought he might kiss you.
“Night Little Bird, see you soon.”
With that, he turned and walked down the hallway, leaving you feeling warm inside.
Walking in, you unlocked the door and immediately plopped into your bed, letting your body relax. Sleep pulled at you but you were determined to stay awake until Jason texted.
But sleep was just as determined and stronger, you fell asleep just as your phone chimed.
Jason I’m home

Heyaa! How your doing? Can I request how Jax would react to his s/o being just like ENA? When she always swapping personality for being too overwhelmed whit all and then vomiting (just like that scene whit her and Moony, and if you can may add Moony being...Moony? Being mean to her)
I DID MY BEST SORRY SORRY I REALLY AM GETTING TO ALL ASKS I PROMISE!!!!!!
Jax  ENA! Reader
“Wh-where am I? What is this place?” you cry out, grabbing either side of your head in a panic. You grip your oddly-cut hair, clenching it in yur fists and tugging, “Who are you people?! I hate people! I’m allergic!!” you suddenly feel rather calm, that little outburst nothing more than an embarrassing slip of the mind, “So very sorry about that!” You smoot your hair into its original, calm state.
“Uh… wow, what an entrance,” a strange, mix-and-match creature speaks first, “that’s even weirder than half the (DINK!!) that comes out of Kinger’s mouth.” The doll steps closer to you, reaching forward to get your attention, “She’s rather divided anyways, look at her,” she hums, “two entirely different halves, down to the color and texture.”
You glance down at your hands, confused, “I am not two dif-” you stop. You were. You were two separate colors, two opposing textures. It was dizzyingly terrifying. You scream, the sorrow and fear rushing over you once more.
,”No, no! I don’t wanna be like this!” you wail, waving your hands, “I’m so hideous I could-” you retch, liquified censoring spewing from your lips. You hurl your guts at the group’s feet. “Is this a bad time?” A new voice questioned. The doll glanced up, “Oh, Caine, good! Can you do your whole… you know, introduction? It might help?”
“Or it’ll make her have even more of a crisis,” The rabbit pointed out, “I don’t know about you all, but I don’t exactly want to deal with her puking again. “HEY! You leave her alone, only I’M allowed to bully her, you wad!” A floating sphere appeared behind you.
“Moony!” Thank goodness, I was worried about you!” You chirp, somehow knowing she is your friend. The calmness washed over you once more as you hopped up, smiling at her. You glance at the others once more, “Apologies again, dearest chums! I entirely forgot to introduce myself! I’m (Y/N)!”
~~~~~~~~~~TIMESKIP~~~~~~~~~~~
You’ve been stuck in the circus for a few weeks now. Part of you was used to it now, you resigned yourself to the fact this is how things were now. The other side, however, was the part that kept you thinking you’d wake up, or that you could find an exit soon. It was hard, being so bipolar, but you had gotten used to it.
Recently, you’d noticed Jax had been following you around. Well, more than he used to. He used to follow you occasionally, mostly to make snide comments. That was a pastime of his. But in these recent encounters, some of them you’d never directly interacted with him. You’d just see him at a distance, and he’d look away or leave.
“Ugh! (Y/N), get your weird, gross boyfriend!” Moony complained loudly, making an exaggerated sick face. She floated around you, now in front of you. You glance up at her, “I don’t have a boyfriend, friend Moony!” you chirp, smiling. She nods her head behind you, “Then what do you call HIM?”
You turn, noticing the lavender rabbit quite a distance behind you. You blink in confusion, squinting at him. Why was he following you? You wave at him, arm making large swipes above your head, “JAX!” -you call- “Over here!”
He makes a face at you, although he quickens his pace. He’s now awkwardly jogging, trying to catch up to you. “EW! (Y/N), no! Don’t call him over! Ugh! It was supposed to be besties night!” Your shoulders droop, suddenly awash in despair, “You’re RIGHT! I’m sorry Moony! I’m such a horrible friend! I ruined everythiiiiiiing!” She rolls her eyes, then unexpectedly perked up.
“Wait, maybe we can hang out with him! He’s a guy, but having another person would make truth or dare funner!” She grinned, looking at you mischievously. You sniffle as Jax finally catches up with the two of you.
“Half and half, nice to see ya,” his smile was wide, but his voice suggested a casual tone. You rub at your eyes, “It can’t be! I’m no-good! I’ll make you upset!” Your shoulders roll forward suddenly as you stand upright, at a slightly inclined angle.
Jax was unfazed by the sudden change, not sparing more than a bored stare. You smile at him regardless, “Ah! Yes! Come with us! Moony’s room ahead!” He followed behind, groaning, “A weird nonbinary and girl sleepover? No thanks! But fine.”
The group of you entered Moony’s room. She’d already gotten everything ready. Snacks piled in one corner and a pile of pillows and blankets all over the floor. You clap your hands together happily, “Oh! All set up! How lonely! Deepest gratitude!” You settle yourself on the cat pillow and relax. Moony lays herself in the beanbag chair beside you, and Jax on your other side.
Moony sighed dramatically, “In proper besties night tradition, I will now spill all the latest drama I’ve come across,” she cleared her throat, and delved into a long-winded speech. You glance at Jax midway through her dialog drop. “So! Why were you truly following us?” you question him, “I’m well aware you do it a lot. I didn’t realize others knew as well, or I’d have asked sooner.”
His cheeks flushed very slightly, barely noticeable, “What are you talking about?” Oh, so thats the direction- playing dumb. You get a wild urge and decide to play with this a bit.
Yeah, I could have sworn I've been seeing you everywhere I go,” you raise a brow playfully, letting him know how long you’ve been aware of it. He scoffs, waving you off, “Why would I do that? You sure you’re not going crazy?”
“Yeah, maybe… why? Why would you?” You turned his denial into a genuine question. Moony’s rambling filled the air between you two for far too long, his deciding on which answer to give taking much longer than it should. He is teetering on the verge of his response, and you sigh and shake your head.
“Its not honest if it's been this long, I don’t wanna hear it. If it’s something dumb like you like me just say it!” He stopped dead, then his face became one of a man about to get his revenge. “Akright,” he agreed, “yeah. I like you. You’re pretty cool. Way cooler than the others. And youre genuine. You get it?”
You’re stunned, the confession was very obviously genuine. You stammer a moment, trying to say something even you didn’t know what it would be. Moony shouted above your thoughts, however, adding only more confusion, “Oh my god, I TOLD you, (Y/N)! He likes you!” Your face flushes, and your friend giggles at you. Your gaze snaps between an eager to watch Moony and a worried about the response Jax.
You blink, mind finally catching up to you, “Y-you do? I… Would you like to… go on a date?” you tested nervously. Jax’s shoulders dipped in relief, “Yeah. Maybe a day at the fairgrounds.” You nod your agreement, scooting closer to him.
Moony puffed up her metaphorical chest, “My plan totally worked!” You glance at her, a disbeleiving frown playing on your lips, “Oh yeah? Plan?” She grinned, “Yeah, I definitely set this up so you two would confess.” You laughed, “Sure you did, Moony.”
As you spoke, Jax set his hand on yours. You respond by tanging your fingers with his, your heart picking up slightly. You weren’t sure, exactly, how it had happened, but you were positive is wasnt Moony. Either way, you were glad it had.
