Summary: After years being forced to fight in clandestine hybrid ring, Jungkook is now living in shelter, but life remains bad, the place is abusive, and nobody seems to want adopt him. Until one night a pro-hybrid activist group invades the shelter, and a woman in black smelling like truth promises that things will get better, and he decides to follow her wherever she goes.

For the first time in years Jungkook woke up on his own, when his body asked for it, without anyone waking him up with a bucket of cold water, or to meet some schedule. He felt numb and heavy, relaxed, rested. He stretched, sitting against the headboard in the dark room. He couldn't tell the time, since there was no clock, making him feel a little disoriented in space time. After so many years without freedom to come and go the boy was not sure what to do now. About ten minutes went by without anyone showing up to tell him to get up - and he didn't want at all, the bed hugging him - hunger settled in his stomach, as well as the urge to go to the bathroom. But could he really leave? He got up and tested the door. It wasn't locked. So he could leave the room, in theory. Without making a sound he closed the door again and went back to bed, thinking about what to do to make the best impression on the first day in his new home. He decided to make the bed and tidy up the room. When he opened the curtains, bringing light to the room, a pile of clothes on the armchair caught his attention - a pair of sweatpants shorts and a oversized t-shirt, a new toothbrush, a pink post it on top. These clothes are mine, but it’s for you to wear while we don’t buy some for you. I think it'll fit. By the smell it was obvious the clothes were yours, he didn't even need to read the note to know. It fit, but not the way Jungkook likes to dress up - he likes big clothes on him, to feel comfy, and your big clothes, wich are big for you, who are smaller than him, are just right to him. Right now he was in clean clothes, smelling of fabric softener and you. He put on his shoes and his cap too. Outside the window the now busy street was full of cars and people, making him excited to go out. But yet again, can he? Determined to be a good boy and not disobey, for you to love him, Jungkook sat on the edge of the bed and waited. More minutes passed before he heard light knocks on the bedroom door. He crossed the room in one step and opened the door as fast as he could, his tail wagging from side to side, but it wasn't you in the hall, his smile fell. It was the cat. "What are you doing?" Yeri asked, taking him by surprise. "I... I'm..." He stammered. She crossed her arms "You've been up for almost half an hour, why haven't you left the room yet? Are you alright?" "Yeah" He spoke so low that if Yeri didn't have feline hearing she wouldn't have understood a word. "I was waiting for Y/n." "Oh" Her confused expression softened. "She went to work." "She is not home?" Yeri couldn't understand the slight panic in Jungkook's voice at asking it, or why he didn't left the room by his own choice. She don't know the feeling of rejection like he does, or the pain of being treated like a animal. She knows she is privileged though, she don't need to understand to be empathic... And you asked her to be nice to Jungkook so... "No, and she asked me to keep an eye on you until she back." She smiled softly "Go wash yourself, Y/n let breakfast done for you." Jungkook loved the restroom, for no especial reason, he just he just never saw a bathroom so ... happy - all colorful and with little plants in cute pots, and smelling and clean like he never imagined a bathroom could be. Out of curiosity he decided to try the shower, turned the register slowly, and when the water started to fall he put his hand under it and ... oh, it was so warm. "Yeri!" Jungkook ran into kicthen , where the cat was waiting by the table, scearing her off. The white hairs on her tail were all standing on end when she answered in a hiss. "What?!" "Where do I find towels and shampoo?" He excitedly asked. Not quite understanding Yeri pointed to the hall. "In the closet under the stairs in the hall... But..." Before she could end the sentence he was gone, and the sound of the door of the bathroon closing againg. Jungkook love to shower, stay clean, water. This was often the only medicine he received after being beaten until he was unable to get up. After a while, the cold, limited water shower became the safe spot for him, where the world couldn't hurt him anymore, and he could just breathe. In the shelter the water was not so cold anymore, but there was still a time limit for each shower, it was still Jungkook's favorite time of the day, because he didn't need to think about anything other than himself. Now the water was hot and pressurized, massaging his sore muscles, more than the room you give to him, this felt like home. Of course Jungkook felt a litlle bit upset that you weren't home when he woke up, after all he wanted to see you, he never liked an owner so much that he missed them from one day to the next. But he wasn't going to complain, it's not like he's used to getting attention, in fact being alone was more common than anything. He understands that you can have more important things to do than show him the apartment or prepare and have breakfast with him... You are already too good to be real. He was rinsing his hair and ears, massaging his own scalp, when voices came from outside, caughting his attention. It was two voices, female. You were home. _________________________________________________________________________________________ You entered the apartment with arms full of shopping bags and document folders. You quickly dropped everything on the table or on the floor near the door, took off your coat to hang on the rack and kicked off your shoes. Your eyes searched the living room and kitchen, looking for Jungkook, without a sign of him. You tried to complete all your tasks at the office as quickly as possible and rescheduled some visits for other days of the week to be able to get home early to see him, you were anxious to know if he slept well, or if your male clothes fit him . The breakfast you prepared for him before leaving still wrapped on the counter. You frowned. "Where is Jungkook?" You asked to Yeri, who was lying on the couch by teh window, jumping through the channels. "Taking a shower. He just woke up." She said without looking away from the tv. You hummed. "Ok. Can you put on the news for me please. I didn't have time to check it today." Yeri complained despite obeying anyway, but you paid no attention to it, busy putting the mess you brought with you in its proper place. The TV journalist was talking about the economy updates, which was not the topic you wanted to see. The explosion of the shelter last night ended up on twitter trending topics, but you wanted to know what the official media outlets have to say about. On the internet your organization is seen as justice, everything you do is seen as a heroic act by many, and that brings strength to the movement. Those in favor of the slavery of the hybrids also speak out against you, but their ignorance only strengthens the abulutionist discourse too - in a slow process of difficulty, but there are so many people working for equality that you refuse to be shaken by these rotten people full of hate. This polarization of ideas, of course, also divides politics, and it is this part that interests you the most, because it is from the government that the rights of the hybrids will be guaranteed. Mess with the economy and popular opinion that it is possible to change the government, which is why you and your camarades love that much to explode some state buildings. "Why are you home? You were enveloped by jungkook's long arms and squeezed against your chest, losing your balance the way he hit you with his whole body. By instinct and with no regrets, you hugged him back. His tail, which was already swinging from side to side, started to swing even faster. His dump hair was wetting you, and his litlle happy sounds were malink you soft. "Hi, Jungkook...." You give light taps on his back and opened up space between you two. " Let me see you... I knew the clothes would fit quite well. But if you don't like them, fine, they are only temporary, so you don't have to walk around in that shelter's hideous pajama." "I like the smell of it." He said smelling the shirt collar fabric. "Good. Because I'm a little paranoid about laundry." You really are. Actually you are kind of crazy tidy. "Are you hungry?" You softly said, still looking to how the clothes were wrapping his body. You didn't notices but you were making him blush with your stare. "Yes." He said in tiny. "Me too, lets eat breakfest together.". You reaffirmed your theory that Jungkook wouldn't be too picky about food, and that basically anything you put in front of him he eats happily. He just doesn't like coffee. And sweets are really his favorite. He ate the pancakes and egg with toast, plus a very large bowl of cereal, some fruit and a glass of juice. It wasn't just because everything was good, but he was happy you were eating with him, and that made him even more hungry. "Lucky me I have money." You still have a lot of questions in your head to do to Jungkook. You were curious about him in so many levels. Since from his habits and tastes to his past ... One doubt you have is: How is he so docile? His file said that he spent almost a decade in illegal dogfights. Most hybrids take less than five years to lost their and go feral, and then when they can no longer be controlled the owners put them down. But Jungkook doesn't. Furthermore, despite being a pitbull, he does not have his canine ears clipped, which is not common in the middle of where he came from. You wanted so much to ask... but you decided oposite it, thinking that it wasn't the moment. "Want more juice?" Jungkook offered, he was pouring himself more and saw your empty glass. "Of couse, thankyou, sweetie." You didn't notice the blush on his cheeks again, intending to pay more attention to the TV in the living room. Jungkook was not used to hearing praise like that, the most he heard from his former owner was 'champion' or 'good boy' when he won a fight and there was nothing satisfying about it. Your 'sweetie', on the other hand, accompanied by a smile from you, just because of a glass of juice seemed like the world to him. "Updates on the terrorist attack on a shelter in downtown Seoul last night: It was confirmed that despite the magnitude of the explosion and the damage to the building's structure, there were no victims, either by the hybrids or by the local staff. According to the authorities, the 100 hybrids that lived in the shelter were kidnapped by an anti-government organization as a form of protest, on social media entities defend that they were released by the Set Us Free movement." You got up and crossed your arms to watch the jornalist talking as aerial recordings of the burning building and post prints talking about took over the screen. "Early in the morning, a series of complaints linked to the shelter came to the knowledge of the police, involving corruption and money laundering, as well as mistreatment of resident hybrids. Among the evidence presented a list with names involved in the scheme ..." As the jornlist listed names of businessman and politicians. Many of these names you already knew, once your group that investigated and made the report, others were a surprise to you. In that moment you were so interested in the news that you sat on the end of the chouch supporting your elbows on your knees, watching the TV without blinking. Jungkook recognized the images from the shelter last night, but he didn't find it so interesting, because seeing the explosion live was much nicer, and none of the information said anything to him. But seeing you so serious was interesting, he took the bowl of cereal and sat at your feet, looking more at you and your reactions than at the TV itself. "Senator Y/L/N spoke earlier in a news conference.." The image of the journalist was replaced by one of a man in a suit speaking in front of several different microphones. "Violent acts can't and won't be encouraged, but we need to pay attention to where it comes from. The social injustice and slavery of hybrids needs to be tackled in some way, and since the government is slow to guarantee the rights they deserve as similar to humans, manifestations of marginalized groups are to be expected. It is not giving them what they want, as the conservators say, it is guaranteeing them what should already be theirs by right. Situations like last night are nothing more than a symptom of the disease that we think we are entitled to own a hybrid." Jungkook thought it was cute the way you were biting the inside of your cheek or how it looked like you were narrowing your eyes with each word said. "Ya... Dad is so different when speeching..." Yeri mumbled. It took Jungkook's attention away from you. "Dad?" He asked with his mouth full of cereal, looking from Yeri to you and to the man in the TV. "Yes." You awnsered, lying in the couch. "This is my uncle... He is cool isn't he?" Jungkook frowned, not thinking the guy is so cool... but since you say so... "Does he protect hybrids like you do?" You smiled to him, slightly petting his head. "On his way." At the same time that the news changed to weather forecast, your phone started to beep with messages. You praticaly jumped from the couch to your feet. "I need to go." You said. From the floor, Jungkook looked at you with doe eyes and a pout. "You are leaving again?" "I have something to do... But you can come with me. If you want." "I do." Jungkook jumped on his spot, finishing his cereal as fast as he could. "Then go put on that hoodie I gave you. Is kind of cold out side." You didn't need to say twice. Jungkook ran to his room to obligue, he came back finishing putting on his sweatshirt and putting on his shoes midair. He was so excited, and the look on your face when he took your hand was so affectionate towards him, just like the good dreams sometimes he have. He was intending on livig his best life with you while it lasted, as long as you wanted him, after so many bad, terrible things that he was forced to go through during his short life, Jungkook got used to not waiting for things to really improve, but he also learned to enjoy each of the good moments, whether they were truth or just dreams. Maybe he will wake up at some point and realize that he is still in the shelter ... or in the cold room, using a muzzle ... Until then he will not stop receiving all the affection that you are willing to give. Among the good things he was not expecting to happen, going out for a walk is one of Jungkook's favorite. "I'm ready." He told you with a cheekie smile, even if you could clearly see it for yourself. You just smiled back containing the urge to grab him by the cheeks. So cute. "Do you want a ride home,Yeri?" You picked the keys. "No thanks. Irene will pick me up in half of an hour." She didn't even looked at you to awnser, to busy scrowling throgh her phone. "Ok. Don't forget to lock the door when you leave," Said that you two left the apartment, and Jungkook got your attention all for himself again. ________________________________________________________________________________ It wasn't your plan to spoil Jungkook so much. Of course, you already intended to go shopping with him, and maybe, who knows, give the world to him if he wanted to, but the idea was that things would happen more slowly. Instead, early in the morning on your way to work, you saw a beautiful jacket in a shop window and thought it would look beautiful on him, without hesitation you went into the store and bought it, and as a bonus some other pieces of clothing for essential use. Now you were supposed to go to the grocerie store, get an order of yours, and that's it. Kess than one hour and you both would be back home. Now its been almost two hours and your SUV is stuffed with shopping bags of clothes and other random things that made Jungkook's eyes sparkles as you strolled in front of shop windows - you let him buy a skate and an air freshener, for exemple. The tour was a big new world for him, clearly he was having fun just running around the store shelves and you had to pull him back into focus more than once. Like when he decided to try on all the hats in a store, first one hat at a time then all at the same time, it was cute, and you took the ones he seemed to like the most and added to his shopping pile without him paying attention. "Jungkook, do you want to choose some underwear? I have no idea what you like or what size you wear..." He was no where to be seen but you knew he was listening to you, especially after a few seconds, when the sound of the new boots you bought him two stores earlier approached fast, and then the hybrid's happy face appeared among the jeans racks beside you. "Oh, this is important, the only underwear I have is drying on my bedroom window." He said starting to look through the pile of new underwear, ignoring all the colored ones, and separating only the black and white ones. "Wait, what?" You blinked at him. "I washed in the shower and didn't know where to leave it, so I hung it in the window." He simply said. You were kind of shocked. "Jungkook... Aren't you wearing underwear? Like right now...?" He just made no with his head, too entertained in choosing several identical boxer briefs.. You looked around to see if anyone around heard it, taken with modesty but finding the situation a little funny. "Did you have more at the shelter? Why didn't you bring it when I said to get your things?" "I had it, but I didn't think about it at the time." You just laughed at him and hurried him so you would soon pay for everything and move on, with the promise of returning to buy more things later. You still needed to go to the grocerie store... Where together you filled a shopping cart with your list - last night he said he wanted to have a barbecue, so you were going to prepare one for him, lots of meat, charcoal and side dishes - and things that Jungkook thought might taste good by the look of it. "Jungkook, you will find some hygiene products for hybrid in this corridor. Take a look and choose, I'll be right back ... ". "Wait." He looked arond. The grocerie store was way bigger than the clothes shops you went before, with a lot more people, he was not comfortable being alone here. How would he know where to find you if you go too far? You read that in his expression and give his hand a squeeze. "I'll just pick a package. Three corridors from here to the right." You poited. "But don't worry I'll be right back. Can you look the cart for me?" "Of couse I can." He said, more confident now. "Thankyou, sugar." You gave him another of those smiles and then left him alone to choose deodorants and soaps for hybrids. But you didn't lie, as fast as you're gone you're back, now with a wrapped paper package in your hands. Out of curiosity Jungkook sniffed the package over your shoulder while you put it in the cart, but for some reason he was unable to identify what could be inside. "Please don't put anything on top of that, it's fragile." You said. "Ready to go?" "Yeah." Jungkook droped one of one soap bar into the cart, not seeing which of the two fragrances he had been choosing before. "What is it?" You gave him a mischievous smile, hooking an arm around his and then guiding him through the corridors to the cashiers. You knew he would be curious, and you specifically asked them to wrap the package in a special paper that will outwit his dog nose. "Its a surprise." Jungkook was convinced. He never had good experiences with the idea of 'surprise', but coming from you he did not imagine anything bad. If you were saying that he was supposed to wait to find out what was in the package, then he was just going to wait. ____________________________________________________________________ When you got home, you parked once again at the back of the building, the light from the florist indicating that although it was time to close, the employees still haven't left. The same thing in the office on the second floor. You thought it would take a lot of coming and going to take all the bags up to the apartment, but while you picked up some and thought it was too much for you, Jungkook picked up almost all the others, hanging them in his arms, and when he left the first batch on living room ran to get the rest alone. It had been a while since he had space to run a litlle, without even being able to remember the last time. He only slowed down when he heard voices on the second floor, adjusted the bags in his hands and tried to go unnoticed. "I want to finish this before call it a day." A soft voice spoke. "But I want to go home. I'm hungry..." Another male voice answered. "More fifteen minutes, Tae." The office door opened just when Jungkook was passing, and he felt like he was caught doing something he shouldn't have, even if he wasn't, two guys looking right at him. The one at the table in front of a computer and stacks of paper smiled and waved at him. The other, holding the door handle, didn't even blink at him, looking serious. Jungkook just bowed his head and continued on his way, stopping only after reaching you in the kitchen. You felt his arms embracing you from behind and his forehead on you sholder. The guy at the table was a hybrid, he couldn't tell what kind, but the smell was like a cat, and probably, since as far as he knows they both work for you, the two shouldn't be bad. Still, Jungkook couldn't make his heart slow down. Men scare him. You turned to look at him. He didn't let you go tho. "What's up?" You asked noticing his distress. Jungkook bited down his bottom lip. "Got tired." You smiled and pet his head for the second time today making him sigh and close his eyes. Without knowing it you made him calm down. "Go put your things on your room, the new clothes in the closet... When you're done, go up to the terrace." "And then we will eat a lot of meat?" "Yep" _______________________________________________ You were just finishing making the vegetable skewers, and putting the meat on the grill when Jungkook went up the stairs to the floor where his room is and the terrace, where he hadn't gone yet. Like the bathroom, the terrace were filled with plants, but here the vases and plants are much bigger. The starry sky was beautiful, and the movement of cars and people on the street is comforting and full of possibilities. Jungkook stopped by the glass door and just looked at you, who didn't noticed him yet. You were now in comfortable clothes and messy hair, drumming his fingers on the table to the beat of a song that was playing only in his head. Once again the thought that you seem inoffensive crossed Jungkook's mind. But that's a lie. You are powerfull in a way he isn't. During the tour of the city he saw your surname in names of shops and street signs more than once, your uncle is an important guy who appears on TV, and your friends do illegal things using guns and bombs... And you are human - and that's enough for you to be scary for any hybrid. You are not harmless, and one thing that would certainly hurt Jungkook hard would be if after today, when he felt at home after years of not knowing what that feeling is like, you decide that you don't want him anymore. That would be worse than every time he thought he was going to die in a fight. Rejection. Like in the shelter, Jungkook was trying to figure it out a way to be loved. To be so loved that someone would want to live with him forever and never leave him. But he doesn't know how to do it. "Do you want some help?" He approached you. "No. Now just don't let the meat burn." You proudly put your hands on your hips. "But I wantou to sit here... and close your eyes." You made him sit by the wooden picnic table and ran inside. He closed his eyes as you said so. You came back with calmer steps and put something in front of him, an instant after the smell of phosphor and sugar entered Jungkook's nose and you said... "You can open it now." In front of Jungkook was a cake with the words "Welcome home JK" written on it and some candles on top. His eyes got wet instantly. "This is an welcome party." You said softly, holding his hand. "And every party need a cake. Surprise, Jungkook." Jungkook wiped away the tears that began to flow with the sleeve of the hoodie - the hoodie that was yours and still smells like you. Seeing that he was crying, you tentatively rubbed a hand on his back and waited for the sobs to pass before you spoke. "Jungkook, we need to have this conversation sooner or later... But I don't want to be your owner." You said and he got freeze. He looked in shock to you and more tears ran down his face. He was so confused. The cake made him so happy and then you said exactly what he was afraid of hearing. A knowing look reached your eyes and you wiped the boy's face yourself. "Don't cry. Let me explain, ok?" He nodded, without realizing that he was holding your hand with all his strength. You couldn't care less. "I never intended on adopting or buying a hybrid. You are the only exception." You smiled sweetly. "When you said you wanted to come with me I couldn't say no. You were so sweet, trusting on me... You are very special to me, even if we've only known each other since yesterday." You took his face in your free hand. "But I'm unable to own a person. It may be strange for you to understand what I am saying now, but my intention in having you with me is for you to be free. If you want to live with me forever, in the simplest way in the world, I will take care of you. If you want to live your life in any other way, even if it is somewhere else, I will also take care of you, and support you. Because the choice is yours. Of course, you don't have to choose anything now. Today or years from now ... It will remain your choice." Jungkook relaxed but remained confused, not knowing how to respond. "What do you want?" He finally said. Your eyes saddened, the thought that your wanting to be more important to him than his own bothering you. "I want to be your friend." His answer seemed to be what Jungkook wanted to hear, because he opened a huge and beautiful smile. "That's enough for me. Can I eat the cake?" "Of couse!" You served him a piece and one for you, chattering like you never cared much for dessert after a meal, and that if he wanted to eat the meat and the cake together you wouldn't judge. His daydreams are cute, he concluded, determined to love you so that you love him. "Y/N... There are a lot of things about me that I don't like, and I know you won't like it either... And I don't like to talk about it, or to think about it at all... But since we are friends I feel like I should... " "That you should tell me?" He nodded. "You dont need to. Jungkook, I already know a lot of bad things about you." You made him freeze again. "Nothing personal, but enough that if it bothered me or changed the way I see you, I wouldn't even have brought you home. But I don't care, and if you don’t feel like sharing it with me now, or ever, okay, you don’t owe it to me just because we’re friends." He smiled to his cake. "Seriously, I have a lot of secrets my friends don't know. You can have yours too." "Thankyou, Y/N. I like you a lot, and I think I want to be with you forever." That was your time to smile to your cake. "So you are stuck with me forever then." Having a friend has always been more important to Jungkook than having a good owner. But for him the only friend he had stayed in the past, he was already sure that it would never happen again and that he was alone for the rest of his life. But now he had you, and that is enough. Regardless of the situation, friends are forever. If you are friends, he doesn't have to be afraid of you kicking him out, even with all the bad things he has done or all the fears he has.

Author notes: fucking finally, I'd say. Sorry it took me so long to post it after I decided to revamp this series. Here goes my belated 300 special med student!Kuroo. Please note that this is written based on the med school model we have here, in wich we get the MD degree right away, without the pre-med division they have in USA.

PS: DAI¹ stands for diffuse axonal injury, a type of brain damage caused by violent shakes (acceleration/deceleration/shaken baby syndrome) of the head. No worries, banging your head against a hard surface isn't supposed to give you it. If you get confused by any medical terms, pls hmu!!

Your head was throbbing. The professor's voice dragging through your ears made the discomfort you felt even bigger.

The first class of the day have barely started and you were already regretting leaving your bed.

You let out a shuddering breath while your fingers found their way to your temples. You massaged the area, trying to ease the headache.

"You look like shit" the voice came from your right. Shirabu gave you a sideways glance before going back to his notes. "Let me guess, your neighbor again?"

"Yeah, the bastard was up all the night. I still can hear his bed pounding into the wall and the girl trying to muffle her voice" You groaned.

"Ew. Gross" The blonde's face contorted in a grimace "Am I the only one weirded by the fact you never saw the guy?" He asked frowning.

"Hell, no. But I don't think I wanna meet him anytime soon." Your reply was earn; you wouldn't know how to react if you ever saw the said man. "Besides, the guy has this strange schedule. He leaves early in the morning and comes back late at night, it's kinda weird"

"Weird is the way you know him so well and never saw him before" You ignored your him and turned your attention back to the professor. Twenty minutes into the lecture, the door was open and a raven hair peaked from it, sitting on the desk available in the front row.

"You're staring" Shirabu's uninterested voice ringed in your ears again "Why don't you admit you have a thing for him already? It would make our lives a thousand times easier"

"I just dislike him. I can't stand that dumbass" You retorted grimacing while scribbling down in your notebook. God, you hated biochemistry.

"Yeah, keep repeating that and someday you'll believe it."

"Why you all keep saying it?" You winced at the high pitch of your whisper "The guy ain't special. He is an asshole, honestly"

"Deep down you only say it because he told you were 'just okay' in our first week of freshmen year" The male gave you a pointed look. "I know it's you just being petty, but it's pretty obvious you have a crush on him"

"Hell no, I'd rather have the whole Lehninger shoved down my throat" Your classmate scoffed by your side, resuming to his notes.

"By the looks Haruno-sensei is sending in our direction, it's going to happen anytime soon."

"For this term, you'll send me an essay about peptides with especial focus on physiologically active ones and their major role on human organism." The professor said, sending a stern glare though the class. "Pay attention to the next slide. It contains a table with the pairs I've assigned for this paper"

What the hecking heck?

Your mind went blank but you still heard Shirabu snickering by your peripheral. For such a stoic man, he was pretty out of character today. That little shit.

"Beware the addressed pairs won't be changed in any circumstances. Don't even bother to try" The woman said as she addressed the whole class a cold glare. Goddammit med school and its goddam professors. "You now can discuss this paper. Remember this essay is worth half the grade"

"Fuck" you cursed as your forehead banged onto the thick textbook.

"Whoa, be careful" The teasing voice made you painfully groan "We don't want this pretty brain of yours getting a DAI¹ before we start this paper"

"It's too early in the morning to deal with you, Kuroo" Your retorted came muffled as you pressed your face even flatter into the book.

"It's too early in the morning for you be ranting about everything but you don't hear me complaining, kitten" He jabbed at you, laughing it off as mere teasing "Is it fine if we start the paper on this weekend? I gotta volley practice the whole week."

"Sure. Wanna meet up on the public library?" You asked gathering your things, as you turned to Shirabu and saw him cocking an eyebrow at you.

"Fine by me" The male scratched the back of his neck, giving you an awkward glance "Actually, I wanted to ask you phone number" You stiffened "Aw [Surname]-chan, C'mon! You know it's easier."

"But what for? You already have my institutional email"

"You're too formal for your own good, woman" He handed you his phone, nudging the device into your palms "Where do you think this strict act is going to take you?"

You rolled your eyes at him again.

"Actually, Kuroo-san" You made a pause, voicing the words with candour "I want chaos and world domination. But in order to do it, I need to overthrow the dean first" You said while punching the numbers onto the chapped screen of his phone. The ravenette snorted at your reply.

"Oh shit, you're so weird!" And he left out a hyena laugh.

"Way to impress a girl, huh"

"Only the ones I'm trynna woo" The male smirked when he saw your dumbfounded face.

"Huh? Big words coming from a nerd" You brushed off his provocation. You knew he didn't mean it, but you couldn't prevent your heart to skip a beat.

"Oi, [Name]! What do you mean?"

Surprisingly, the week went smoothly. No Kuroo incidents nor professors bitching over the struggling students.

It was saturday and you were more than ready to spend a whole day inside the library with the ravenette.

Sarcasm? Check.

It wasn't like you hated him. If you were to be honest, it was the other way around — but you would never give Shirabu the taste of being right.

Kuroo just had a special way of getting under your skin. He knew what buttons to push and how to make feel flustered.

You were indeed whipped for him in your first year, but he was an asshole back then — It was kinda comprehensible though: being new to the infamous uni life, freshmen were always seeking acceptance from other people.

Kouhai trying to impress their senpai.

Jocks trying to make a number on the female population.

You trying to grab the attention of that hot guy from welcome ceremony — yes, the one who ended to be the bane of your campus existence.

Yada yada.

But when Kuroo turned you down — without you confessing first, you may add —, your pride was incredibly hurt. You then declared war. Best way to rile up a med student? Make your grades better than theirs.

But of fucking course Kuroo wasn't your regular med student. The competition only provoked meaningless banter — and it annoyed you even more because you couldn't get into his nerves the same way he did to you.

"Oi, [Surname]! You good there?"

"Yeah, yeah, get back to the damn peptides" You definitely despised biochemistry.

You rummaged through the books sprawled over the desk, searching for your Lehninger copy.

"Where the fuck that huge ass book went to?" You murmured, getting ready to go check on your backpack.

Glancing towards your classmate's direction, you spotted it under one of the textbooks he was using, but before you could reach for it, you felt hands gingerly wrapping around your chin, making your eyes lock into his stare.

"What are you doing?" You knew the warmth in your cheeks wasn't being provided by his body temperature.

"Conducting an experiment" He said as you melted under his attentive stare.

"Huh?"

"You know, they say exchanging looks causes an increase on Oxytocin synthesis in hypothalamus" The male smirked when a vein popped on your head, your brain recalled that science paper about the physiology on human and dog interactions. You wanted chaos and world domination — but in order to make it, you had to kill Kuroo first.

"Are you fucking calling me a dog?" You squinted at him, ready to fight. He laughed as your slapped his hands off of your face.

"Oh, come on, it was just a joke. You know the hormone of love doesn't work this way." His hyena laugh made presence as the bibliothecary gave you two a dejected stare.

Just a joke, huh?

For a med student, Kuroo Tetsuro would make a shitty doctor if he didn't know how bad his smile was for your heart.

Summary:

Kakashi makes the mistake of giving Sakura a well deserved holidays against her own will. Sakura doesn´t know what to do with her free time, and the Hokage is really interested in it. So an idea strikes him like lightning. They both decide to form a book club, One is going to read Icha Icha and the other one Pride and Prejudice. What will come of it?

Chapter 1: A storm is coming

Kakashi was sitting at his office as he had been in the last few years. He was surrounded by scrolls, archives, books and papers, each with a little yellow post-it with three words repeated all over them like a mantra: 'Pending of revision.' Shikamaru was really trying himself to make the Hokage understand of the importance of reading all those documents. The hasty handwriting of the Nara Boy was all over the place trying to catch Kakashi's attention like a reminder that the day that he would sign something without reading it, declaring the Fifth Great War was around the corner. Still, even with his apparent laziness, attention deficit, oblivion and contrary to the opinion of many, Kakashi, truth to be told, was an excellent Hokage. Even against his own predictions and his reluctance to accept the job, Konoha was in one of its best moments: peace reigned in the village, they had a good and constant economic growth and political relations with the rest of the towns and nations flourished day by day after each Diplomatic missions that he attended. Although he hated them inside, he turned out to be quite charming and convincing in person with the rest of the neighbouring leaders, successfully carrying out every meeting, conversation, business deal or whatever.

Kakashi was proud of himself. Proud, but bored and tired. He hated all the office work that separated him from his precious, apparently non-existent free time. Kakashi wasn't able to train, go out on missions more interesting than politics or competing with his one-sided eternal rival, who even in his actual state, was always up to a good challenge, and Kakashi respected him for that. But above all, he had no time for his precious Icha Icha, he was forced to read them more and more sporadically, or secretly for that matter while pretending to read an official document. It was killing him. Not that Kakashi was obsessed with those books, no, at least not that much, he was not a perv, contrary to what people could think. The real thing for Kakashi was that after all these years, so much suffering, war and blood bath, those books, always remain the same. They had a story in them. There were more levels to discover besides the erotic parts, wich in Kakashi's opinion, though exciting, thrilling and tempting, weren't the highlights of Jirayia's best sellers. In those books, he was able to found the romance, the love, the fun and the relationships that he could not afford himself in his own personal life. Not because he didn't like the idea of having a partner, of course he did: a wonderful, strong woman. A woman who can accompany him in every mission but independent enough like to spend time making her own decisions, following her own path, challenging and defiance, but sweet and beautiful at the same time. He wasn't the type of man that wanted a wife to wait for him at home with dinner ready at 9, dressed for the occasion, and just willing to listen to whatever he had to say; a woman who over time only took care of their children (whom he was not even sure if he ever wanted to have), and who eventually abandons all her dreams just to be the wife of Mr Right. Unfortunately, there were not many women like that in Konoha. If they were not a Kunoichi, they were housewives or future housewives to be. And if they were Kunoichis, most of them were already married, very young or very ambitious, and ambition did not get along with Kakashi. More than one girl approached him in the past trying to turn him into a trophy or make it faster to the top on their shinobi path. Kakashi had been able to read them from the first moment, and although it was not what he wanted for his future, he was not a saint. He had learned to enjoy the advantages of being Kakashi Hatake, but sooner than later, he got bored, and for a while now he had left all those games sideways to take refuge in his precious books. Not that in Icha Icha women were presented as he preferred them, but fiction was one thing he could indulge himself with, and reality was another. There was no complication in those books, no real suffering, not disappointment, and definitely not pink-haired former students to adore and admire in secret and for sure not a Lady Tsunade yelling at him 'go for her, you fool.'

Kakashi knew that Sakura was single and that her life was dedicated to her work. For a time he and the Godaime had the habit of meeting a couple of times a week to talk about important matters in the village. But the truth was that between glass and glass of sake, they both ended up talking about more trivial topics and even about their lives. In those talks, Kakashi learned from Tsunade's own words, that Sakura had developed a kind of adoration and infatuation towards him. At the same time, he had confessed that he felt the same for the girl, but he would not do anything about it since it seems entirely out of place. For God's sake, they had been working together for longer than he could remember, and any advance in the wrong direction could break all boundaries. Tsunade always ended these conversations angrily telling him that he was a complete idiot for letting the only woman who could ever make him happy scape and that he, in turn, was an egotistic man who denied Sakura the same happiness. Kakashi wasn't so convinced. So like that, things were what they were, and the Six Hokage was quite content with them. Kakashi was no fool. He was pretty capable of noticing that something was going on with Sakura: the little flirtings, the innocent innuendos, a lingering touch longer than necessary. The signs were there, but that doesn't mean that they have to take another step and turn all that tension in something real.

Kakashi's and Sakura's relationship changed over the years smoothly, just like a river flow. For some time, the pink-haired girl was just that, a kid, a student, the sweet and temperamental little Sakura. Then she became the strong teenager full of determination under the wing of the Godaime, and that was something to respect. Finally, Sakura blossomed in one of the most wonderful women he ever knew. Beautiful, intelligent, strong, subtle, tender, but terrible irritating at times, and he love that. And he had the feeling that Sakura felt quite the same about him, but again, taking everything to another level was something he was not going to consent. What would people think? What would everyone say about Sakura? What would happen to their relationship if things went wrong? He very much preferred this kind of annoying silent game between them than nothing at all. At least they were close friends, they see each other every day, talk for hours, and it was ok. It was much more bearable to have Sakura in this way than not having her at all. So brave in battle and so coward in life.

Kakashi sighed, turning his attention back to all the paperwork over his desk. The sun was setting over Konoha, but it was a different kind of sunset. A storm was coming, a huge one and the sun was hidden behind the heavy clouds,

omens of a rain that would not stop for days, which was really unusual in the village but even regarding the weather the times were changing.

A rumble of thunder echoed across the sky, Kakashi couldn't tell if it was actually a natural phenomenon or the noise of his office door being slammed with all the fury against the wall. Yes, a storm was coming, and Kakashi had utterly forgotten about it.

"Thre weeks Kakashi? Three Weeks?" the Hokage didn't look up from his papers "What the hell were you thinking?"

"Oh, Sa Ku Ra" he started leaving his pen on the desk and crossing his arms "Please come in, the door is open" he wasn't mad, he was just beginning to have some fun after all "Why don't you take a seat".

"Kakashi, what were you thinking? Three weeks is too much" Sakura answered, still mad and with her voice a little bit too pitchy.

"No Sensei? No Hokage Sama today" he leaned over his desk eyeing Sakura from under the Hokage's hat "You must be really mad"

"Well..." Sakura recoiled "yes, but wouldn't you?" Finally, she took a seat at the desk in front of him.

"I would be delighted, but I can see that is not your case." Kakashi removed his hat, it was so annoying after all.

"Hokage Sama, three weeks are too much." There she was, calmer now.

"It's not what Shizune told me" he began lifting his hand to make Sakura stop talking, "your sempai told me that the last week you almost faint of tiredness. That you have been working nearly 24/7 for the last few months, and I can see for myself that you lost weight" he spoke eyeing her, Sakura blushed "So I think, as your Hokage, as you named me yourself that three weeks is a fair and necessary amount of time for taking a holiday." He finished knowingly.

"I don't need three weeks, Kakashi" Sakura tried to spoke in the most calmly way she knew "I'm fine, completely fine" Sakura leaned closer to the silver-haired man in front of her putting her hands over his. Kakashi relaxed in her touch, and for a moment he forgot what they were talking about. Sakura got him where she wanted "You know I'm well sensei" Kakashi looked her in the eyes, and he was about to fall in her charms, but the black bags under them brought him back to reality.

"I'm sorry, Sakura, not this time. The decision is already taken. From now on and during three weeks, you are free of your duties."

"You are insufferable." Sakura grunted.

"And you like me for that" Kakashi answered turning back to sign some papers, smirking under his mask.

"Yeah..." Sakura breath "but, what would I do? It's too much free time."

"I don't know Sa Ku Ra. What do you do in your free time?" The Hokage look at her again, interested in her free time.

"Work?" She said almost shy.

"Come on..." Sakura now has all his attention "don't tell me that you don't go out, that you don't have dates, that you don't travel, that you don't sunbathe or go to spring baths from time to time." Kakashi was amazed, but the part that interested him the most was the dating part, it was vital like breathing for him to know whether or not Sakura had dates with any of the men in the village.

"I don't..." Sakura was ashamed "I don't do anything like that, Sensei" and suddenly she looked fragile and pure and perfect.

"Well, a good time to start then" Kakashi concluded, and he suddenly noted his own stupidity, "but you don't have to do all at the same time, baby steps. For example, you may leave the dating thing for some other holidays."

"Look at you Sensei" Now she was being the teasing Sakura, there were so many levels in her "all so jealous."

"I'm not..." Kakashi tried to defend himself.

"It's ok, Kakashi. I don't date" she said, biting her lower lip in thoughts "Nobody likes a girlfriend who spends to much time with sick people". Kakashi only hum.

"Well, Sakura, you will have to think about what to do with this precious time given to you." The storm in his office was apparently fading away. Outside, not so much.

"With this weather, it will be hard to decide" Sakura sighed in defeat "what were you doing anyway? can I help you?" maybe she could trick Kakashi and do some work after all, even if it wasn't exactly her work.

"You're not going to win this time Sakura, not even if the idea of having you here reading all these documents is tempting as hell." God, he was smart.

Sakura remained seated at the desk in silence, observing the man who once was her sensei and now was like a boss and the village leader.

She observed his features, his movements, his concentration, and she lost herself in his hands that came and went around the desk most elegantly and slowly possible. Suddenly, she fixed her gaze on the little orange book calling her from under a folder. This piqued her interest. What was it that Kakashi liked so much about those perverted books that distorted true love and intrapersonal relationships?

"Anything you like, Sa Ku Ra?" Kakashi asked, raising his brow without looking at her.

"You are still reading those books." She said disapprovingly.

"As always, yes." He simply answered.

"I don't understand how a grown-up man enjoys reading those ridiculous and perverted books."

"You would be highly surprised if you give them a chance." Kakashi stated, leaning back on his chair.

"I hardly doubt it" Sakura responded imitating his posture.

After a moment of silence, Kakashi spoke again.

"You know what, Sakura?" Fun in his voice "It just came to me an excellent idea for your holidays." The smirk under his mask was enormous, he was so enjoying this.

"I'm listening." Sakura's voice was trembling.

"You are going to read Icha Icha, and I'm going to read your favourite book, and then we can exchange opinions." He was ecstatic.

"No way Sensei, I'm not going to read those terrible and misogynist books of yours." Sakura was angry, ashamed, surprised.

"Maa, Sakura, don't be so hard, you don't know if they are misogynist or not" Kakashi dismissed Sakura's disqualifications quickly "or is it that you are afraid of liking them too much? Because let me tell you, I'm not afraid of dying of boredom with your book if that helps you in having a more satisfying free time". He was teasing her in all his glory, and she was blushing like a tomato. She hated him.

"Are you telling me that we are forming a book club with only two members?" Against her own good judgment, Sakura was about to say yes.

"Two really VIP members Sakura." He assured.

"And I choose a book for you?" She asked again

"The one you want, yes." Kakashi waited for her answer patiently. This was going to be absolutely hilarious. After some minutes, she spoke again.

"Ok, but nobody needs to know about this. Is our secret" Sakura started pointing with a menacing finger to Kakashi's face.

"My mouth is sealed" He assured her.

"It's a deal then." She finished extended her hand to shake Kakashi's in agreement.

"It's a deal," He said also shaking her hand "You can take the book home with you now. It's getting late, and it's already raining." He finished de conversation.

"Tomorrow morning you will have the book here in your office Hokage Sama, and I hope you enjoyed," Sakura spoke walking to the door leaving Kakashi to his thoughts.

"I hope that too, Sa Ku Ra." He whispered with a smile.

About the justice system of HP...

Now I don’t think I’ve seen enough people addressing this, but, the prison and justice system of the magical society is insanely stupid and inhuman.

Let me elaborate:

About justice, I think we can say the two most known examples are the British Ministry and the MACUSA.

I don't want to extend myself, but lets focus on two main events that show us how fucking wild justice is for the magic kind:

Newts and Tina's execution order: No need of explanation. They just had a little chit-chat with Grindelwald using Graves handsome face and after this they are sentenced to death. No trial, no defence, not nothing. They are sent to their deaths right away. (Really, I don't know if this was common for the no-maj system too in those times but???). Now, you might think, oooookey. Death sentence. They must have a pious method, something... magical? Maybe, to make it quick and painless. But apparently, in just another example of how the magic kind are not less dispiteous and cruel than the muggle kind, it is not. BECAUSE IT SEEMS THAT THEY FUCKING MENTALLY MANIPULATE PEOPLE TO GET SUBMERGED IN FUCKING ACID. Like, wtf, man, are you serious?!! They just send people to fucking melt in that damn pit of “Death Potion” while making them “have happy thoughts” without a second thought. (And no, I don’t think the part about using the most precious memories of the condemned makes it better). Maybe it's just the shitty script but, damn.

Oh, according to the writer of this Reddit post, this method, “references the Salem Witch Trials, involving being submerged underwater and pronounced a witch, if the accused floated.” This is just... a curious fact, btw.

It’s mentioned too, that this was actually a reference to “how British people view the American government- we're a nation that hands out the death sentence like candy when compared to the European nation.” But just as I say later, Azkaban looks pretty much like a death sentence too, at least to me. Sirius-fucking-Black: I can't start telling you how painful is to me to remember the injustice that ruined this man's life. How much it breaks, burns and tears apart my heart and soul. He was framed, yes, but it was really the Ministry fault that Peter fucking succeeded. Like, AGAIN, what about a fucking proper trial, man? There wasn’t one. (Apparently, there wasn’t many in war-time, so Deatheaters coulnd’t manipulate the court, but… what a tactic). They found a man in the scene, laughing (probably because of the shock, I think he didn’t thought Peter was capable of what he just saw, he’s horrified, some people laugh when they are in shock, damn it), they say “it’s nuts, its guilty, put him in Azkaban” and THATS IT. They could have tried with Veritaserum once he had calmed down a bit, they could have used a Pensieve to see what really happened. But no. Now, I don’t want to talk about Azkaban yet, but we know the only thing that kept him sane was to think about his innocence and I think there are enough info and theories about how being in his animagus form helped him going unnoticed to the dementors and later, to escape.

Now, how is that fair? He was an innocent man, among many others, I’m sure. I’m serious. With such system, who knows how many innocents where isolated in Azkaban during “war times”? We just need to think about the Second Wizarding War when so many muggle born and blood traitors were sent there. How many were left to serve as fucking appetizers to the Dementors?

But not only that. let me continue.

There are two known prisons: Azkaban for British wizarding criminals and Nurmengard, wich... well, apparently was exclusive for Grindelwald?

Lets talk about Azkaban first: It’s a fucking isolated island, used as prison since 1718, employing Dementors as guards. According to Sirius, most prisoners went insane after a short while, and some even stopped eating, preferring death to their lives within Azkaban. As it seems, each prisoner is in secluded cells. So they have only the Dementors to interact with. If the Wizarding world had anything like the fucking UN, they would be horrified by so many fucking broken human rights. I mean, to me it sounds like Azkaban is for itself a death sentence.

This brings me to another question: what happens with the minor criminals? What happens with thieves, scammers, etc,? Are they sent to Azkaban for just a short period of time? Because, according to the books, Azkaban can turn a man in to a demented in a few weeks. A simple pickpocket deserves that? I don’t think I have found anything about that (if you do, please tell me).

The worst is that, in almost 300 years, the only one who apparently tried to do something about Azkaban was Eldritch Diggory, around the 18th century. And nothing else until the end of the SWW. What the fuck.

There’s not much to say about Nurmengard. We know it was where Grindelwald was imprisoned (a sad fate, to be locked up in your own fucking fortress). Many will be of the opinion that he deserved what he got but… It’s still unethical and immeasurably pitiless, if you ask me. He was kept alive for fifty-three years, yet… he was absolutely isolated, with (at least so it seems) no means of entertainment. It’s implied that he regretted his actions at some point but, for what? If you ask me, it would have been more merciful to kill him sooner.

Idk what do you think but, the wizarding world needs to improve a lot of things, beyond his fucking pro-slavery and racists ways. Excuse my funny grammar. And please, if anything needs correction you can say it.

Follow the light

Melizabeth week Day One - Light/Darkness

Notes: To be honest, I don’t know what this is. Probably the most random AU I’ve ever written. But it’s the first thing that came into my mind when I read the prompt for day one! (I totally blame my undying love for fantasy for this) I could have written more but knowing me, it would have turned into a super long fic with a too intricate plot (too late, this is already happening in my mind) and I would have never posted it. Well, I hope you’ll enjoy!

Light Spirits rarely came out at night, so it was with surprise that Elizabeth caught glimpse of something gold and radiant through the window, when she looked up from the now clean plates. It disappeared in the blink of an eye, but it had been there, she was sure about it. She glanced at her sisters, who were sitting on the table behind her. Thet hadn’t noticed anything. Veronica pointed out at something on Margaret’s book and shook her head, while the oldest sister giggled, before whispering something in her ear that made Veronica snort.

Elizabeth’s eyes returned to the window and - there! She saw it again. Something quick and bright as a falling star had just cut the darkness, nothing more than a flash in the night. Elizabeth carefully put the last plate at its place, then dried her hands on the apron before taking it off. “I’m going to check the animals,” she said to her sisters as she passed by the table. It wasn’t an uncommon task for her. Her father had always wanted to make sure that everything was in place for the night, and now that she and her sisters were old enough they often took his place, allowing Bartra to rest.

Margaret looked up and smiled, whispering a soft “Thank you, Ellie.”

“And be careful!” Veronica added. Elizabeth nodded without a word. There was nothing to worry about, not on their farm, not in the small village of Liones, that was far enough from both the capital and the borders. The most dangerous things that could happen there were mostly accidents, like that time when Cain broke his leg falling from the roof or when little Mead got bitten by a stray dog. Elizabeth had helped doctor Dana to take care of the two of them and many others as his apprentice and until now, they had saved every man or woman who was taken to them. No, there was really nothing to worry about.

Even wearing her cloak, the night was chill. Elizabeth shivered, lifting the lantern as she moved towards the barn. Her father was rich, surely the richest man of Liones, but he was still humble and handled his terrain by himself, with only the help of some of the boys from the town. The animals were alright, quiet in the darkness, and it didn’t take long before Elizabeth turned around, studying the outline of the farm against the sky. She should have come back, now, yet she hesitated for a few moments. There was something in the air, it felt funny, almost like a storm was about to break; it made her skin tingle and her stomach twitch. But the sky was clear, and the few, white clouds that covered peaks of the mountains were too far to be a problem. She breathed in and out, slowly, almost as she was waiting for something, then she sighed and took a step towards the farm.

A flash shone at her right and she stopped with a gasp, turning around. The light illuminated the trunks in the little wood that skirted her father’s land; she couldn’t distinguish what was producing it, and as she stared at it with wide eyes it started dimming, slowly disappearing between the trees. Her legs moved on their own will and in a moment she found herself walking through the trees, the lantern still in her hand, as she followed the light.

She should have turned around and come back, Elizabeth knew it. Even though Liones wasn’t a dangerous place it was dark and if she had tripped over a root and sprained her ankle, her family would have been worried and they wouldn’t have known where to look for her. But … but it was a Light Spirit. In the middle of the night. A thrill of excitement crossed her entire body and she hurried, a smile forming on her lips. She could already picture the amazed look on her sisters’ faces when she would have told them! But before, she had to get a story to tell.

No one knew what Light Spirits were, nor where did they come from. On sunny days, you could see them dance in the sun rays, brilliant figures wich shape changed constantly. Often, they looked like people, though they were tiny, usually no taller than one or two feet; getting close enough, it was possible to distinguish their limbs and even their feature before they vanished into thin air. Some other times, they simply looked like spirals of light, twirling among the roofs and the trees. They were beautiful, joyful even, and every time she saw them Elizabeth couldn’t help but stare, following their paths in the air.

They were also said to be devils. Ludociel, the priest from the high church that often visited the town of Liones, always included some them in his sermons. Light Spirit, he said, might look like gold and joy but it was just an illusion to hide their true, corrupted nature. They were rotten on the inside and their aim was to deceive the humans and drive them away from the Goddesses above, that they feared and hated.

Elizabeth snorted. Ludociel knew nothing. The truth was that no one knew anything about the Light Spirits. Not what they were or where they come from. As far as they knew, they could have been sent by the Goddesses themselves, even though they weren’t mentioned in the sacred scrolls. They were just there, and they had always been - since the time when her father was a kid and even before. Here and everywhere else in the country of Britannia. And so Elizabeth kept going. Every step took her further and further from home. Alone and surrounded by darkness, she knew she should have felt scared, but the sight of the light that still palpitate a little farther, close enough that she could follow it but not clearly see it, gave her courage. She didn’t feel alone - she wasn’t alone.

Until suddenly, the light faded away, almost disappearing between the trunks. Elizabeth gasped, her heart jumping in her throat. With the only light of her lantern to illuminate her path, the wood looked different, spectral and dark. What I’m doing here?, she thought, almost taking a step back. She should have been home by now, her sisters were surely worried about her, what were she thinking when -

Another flash illuminated the night, dimmer than the previous one and coming right behind the trees she was facing. It was followed by a sound, something muffled and barely audible. It could have been an animal, maybe even something dangerous, but Elizabeth didn’t run away. She should have probably done that, but she couldn’t go back now. Not when she was so close. She took a deep breath before taking a step forward, then another and another, until she put her hand on the bark of a tree to carefully look at what was waiting for her behind it. She was left speechless.

She hadn’t been able to take a proper look at the Spirit before, but she was quite sure it didn’t have a shape, it was just pure light twirling in the darkness. But now, a young man sat on a rock among the trees, bending over so that she couldn’t see his face, and he was - he was tall. No, she decided after a moment, not quite tall, he was still shorter than any other man she has ever met, but still, he was more than twice the size of the other Light Spirits she saw. His entire figure was lightly shining and the only reason she could distinguish his profile was that the light wasn’t too bright. He even looked solid, and she wondered what she had felt if she had touched him. It, she corrected herself. It wasn’t really a man, of course, it was a Light Spirit who had taken on human form. She shouldn’t have considered it like one.

Suddenly, even though no noise had broken the silence of the wood, the Spirit raised his head and looked at her, and when their eyes met she felt like her breath had been taken away. The light that shone in those green eyes was different, alive and clever, and she immediately knew that there was no way this creature was anything less than human. Different, maybe. But not less. And more than that, she had never seen any Light Spirit whose eyes were not as golden as the rest of their bodies. Was it possible? Could she have simply not looked close enough?

His lips formed a tired smile before contracting in an expression of pain. He glanced down, breaking the eye contact and leaving Elizabeth a moment to catch her breath, her heart still pounding on her heart. This wasn’t what she expected, this was - impossible and weird and - she should have gone back now, she really should have had, now that he was distracted looking at -

Her eyes found what he was staring and at first, she couldn’t understand what was wrong in the foaming of light on his left side. It wasn’t like the rest of his body, it didn’t stay at its place but formed tendrils that extended and fell in the darkness, pouring on the ground where they shone for a moment before disappearing. She frowned, wondering why he was doing that. It looked like he was losing that light, and this couldn’t be good for a Light Spirit, could it?

Then, as she observed the urgent way he pressed his hands on his skin, trying to keep the light in, it hit her. He wasn’t doing that. The light was simply leaving his body like he was bleeding - no, he really was bleeding. He was hurt.

The Spirit inhaled sharply - he could breathe? - and looked at her again. He smiled weakly. “Well, I’m sorry to show up to you like this, but I could make use of your help, healer,” he said in the common tongue, the words feeling just a bit off like he had a very slight accent. “Would you offer it to me?” His voice was calm, confident and almost cheerful. Elizabeth liked it. Light Spirits, though, were not supposed to talk. She stared at him, terrified and fascinated at the same time, unable to think clearly.

The spirit breathed out with difficulty, obviously in pain, but his smile didn’t disappear. “I know this is hard for you and I really shouldn’t be asking you to do this for me, but I didn’t have any other place to go.” He closed his eyes and panted, his hands twitching on his side. “Please, I can’t handle this for long.”

Elizabeth didn’t know what exactly pushed her to hurry beside him, if it was courage she didn’t know she had or her healer instinct, but in a moment she was there, kneeling at his side, her lantern placed on the ground and her hands lifted a few inches from the glowing skin of his hip, just above what she realised was a pair of trousers - she hadn’t even noticed he was wearing clothes, they were as bright as his skin. She hesitated, though, and looked at him. He seemed surprised, even impressed, as he didn’t actually expect her to come closer. She swallowed. She had the impression she was getting into something much, much bigger than what she could imagine. “Tell me what I can do,” she finally said, pushing her fear back with determination. First, she would have taken care of this man’s wound. Then, only then, she would have let herself examine this absurd situation. For now, she needed her mind free from astonishment and fear. She had a man to save.

30 years old trapped living with my mom in quarantine.

So basicly if you saw my last post, or didnt doesnt matter. According to my mother ( of three - me, and two older brothers ) i owe her my life, while my brothers dont. ( Because she raised me LOL ) According to my mother i have to serve her and financialy contribute/support her my whole life, even if it means i wont be able to gather for my own house or life. My mom controls my money. My life. And tries to control how i act, dress, or look overall, what i like, what dreams i can , and cannot have. If i can leave a emotionally and physical harming job or not. If i get to have a roof over my head or not. And this is how : - I had a dept i had to pay, and its fully payed of, and since she is my mother ofc i dont have “ receits “ of what i payed her. But its simply a matter of memory and math,and checking my contracts of the three largest jobs i worked ( 2 years and half each ) i payed her every month between 150-210 every month. ( i started paying before that, i mean i even quit school because she pushed my into depression because of it ) I would also pay my own medical buills, transportation, food, etc. My own shit basicly. If i do confront her claiming that i already payed her, she will either : Invalidate , deny that i payed her, or payed her enought. And that i dont have proof. Threaten me to kick me off the house, to beat me, to leave me on the road etc, shes not very creative, its always the same. And that if i already payed her my dept, that i still have to pay 200 to stay home for food and gast and shit THAT I USE, or she will kick me out. ( and of i dont have money to sustain myself because of this ) However gas, light and water, cable its expenses i already pay half by half with her wich sums about to 50 euros per month ( wich also includes her OWN cellphone bill ) So she demands me paying that. PAYING food ( that i already do if you do the math , specially because i can spend a whole month eating just cereal or not eating at all ) So i pay her 200 a month ( aside if i owe her something i will also pay, but now i refuse her attempts of lending me money, because i always run out of money half way into the month. ( note she will get offended if i do not accept her offer to lend me money because she is “ concerned for my health “ LOL ) So making an easier note i pay for : - Half of the bills - gas, light , water, cable , and half of her phone ( she forces me , and threatens me if i try to refuse ) - This sums up to 50 euros. - The right to be in my mothers house , the right to eat the food she buys. - This sums up to 150 euros. Aside from this i pay with whats left of my money : - Transportation - 40 euros. - My own cellphone bill. like 20 euros.

- Food sometimes - 50 euros every two weeks,( wich she also eats, for example if i buy lactose free yogurts like 10 , she will drink 5. If i buy smooth cookies ( because i have three broken teeth ) she will eat more than half , if not the whole packadge. If i eat cereal , or barely eat she will constantly yell and chase me down to eat something. So lets say i dont have much money and i dont wanna spend the leftover money i have on food, because i might need something else, she will not leave me alone. Yet i already pay for food costs on the general 200 montly bill, yet if i do not pay for my own food at the supermarquet or even eat the food she bought she will make my life a living hell for two weeks or more. Meaning its a vicious cicle and it has no end, its always looping. -Mecial bills - for my hernias back and legg pain, depression, anxiety and respiratory alergies. - wich leads up to 50-80 euros , if i dont go to medical apointments ( wich i dont anymore, that would be more 180 euros ) And medical buills in general, i tend to have a lot of teeth infections because i cannot afford going to the dentist, so im always buying antibiotics or painkillers to “ hold on “ , and can never go to an actual apointment. -My own living supplies, if i need clothes, shoes or wtv. And living in my mothers house : - I have no privacy or personal space, meaning she will enter my room, after knocking , most of the times not even knocking, even if i say no SHE WILL enter. At least 10 times or more, half ot the times to yell or complain at me. Usualy between 14 - 21 . Meaning if i wanna do an art project : recordings, painting time lapses and shit, BASICLY BE IN MY OWN ROOM i have to ask for permission and explain why lol. And still she wont respect it. - If i dont wax either my face or leggs or something , she will spend at least half an hour everyday telling me how bad it looks and how shamefull it is. Either in public or in private ( its humiliating ). The same goes to : - If i wear certain clothes or makeup - im either dressing badly and she wont allow me to go out to the grocery store with her, and will pressure me ( force me and yell at me ) if i dont. If i overdress, she will also shame me. I mean she just humiliates me and makes me feel bad overall for any decision on my own life basicly. Specially little things. - She will treat me badly for two weeks or more ( like a tantrum ) i dont do things exacly like she orders , like if i dont do my bed ( i mean im depressed and just want to die, and she makes my life harder than it is to a point i can barely get out of bed sometimes ) she will get in my room 5 to 6 times and yell everyday for not making my bed, or my room not being tidy. Up until 3 years ago , she would come up to my room and organize my display shelf the way she wanted and yell at me for complaining about it. Like i have certain arts and crafts pastel paste in one tiny pink basquet, pendants in a green one and glus and stuff in a blue one. She would come up and take everything out and put it in a trash. It took a lotttt, and i do mean a lot of daily arguments, head heat for her to stop messing with my display cabnet. - At the age of 28(?) i did my first two piercings, she spent a whole week shaming me and telling me how ugly it made me look and that i ruined my face. Even tho its something i had always dreamed of, and she never allowed me to. - Like i said before i buy my own clothes, and sometimes i sell the old ones. She will take the ones i wanna sell, for herlsef because she needs them and i have no right to sell them. I mean, if its mine, if i bought it, and i wanna sell it, so use the money to buy something difrent, then its mine right? She either will “ borrow “ clothes without permission , when she does ask permission i have to tell yes because, you know, she will unleash hell. The only thing i ask her is to leave the things where she found it after using it because while working i dont have much time before leaving for looking for them. And after a while of not asking for permission i notice, a lot of clothes go missing. She later on, keeps the clothes for weeks or even a month, and then claims its hers , or just forgets where she put it ( she lost already a few pieces of mine, specialy my favourite tshirt ) And if i ask for them , she will yell at me for acusing her LOL. For example. Early last month she has the tendancy to force me to wash my clothes with hers. I usualy refuse because she will stupidly charge me for it, or confuse my clothes with hers. So i always do my laundry separate. She hates it when i do it btw. Recently there was a major fight, she almost kicked me ouf ot the house/car in the midle of the highway.

She has a black V neck BODY ( note a full body shirt ) in black with layered strippes. I have a black turtle neck crop top size S also with the black layered stripes( meaning its a really short shirt, its impossible to mistake ) But NOTE , one is a turtle neck crop top , the other is a V neck BODY, i mean, theres no way you can confuse them , specialy if you put the in a HANGER FFS. I usualy wear it to work, because, well. Well.. what can i say my coworkers are fuckers and cant handle personal style. So i tend to tone it down a bit, already get humiliated for too many things on a daily basis at work, dont need more. And the shirt went missing for two weeks after i brought it home after washing and put it in a hanger. I have it also in two other colors in yellow and pink. So i spent looking for it an hour or two , because i knew i had put it there. I didnt even dare to ask her, and she came up to me and asked me what i was looking for. And i showed her the pink and yellow one, and told her. She said SHE NEVER SAW THAT SHIRT OR ANYTHING LIKE IT. I mean....if you have one “like “ it , you could at least check no? Well lets just say this shit ended badly after i found ou my shirt was HIDDEN in her room. I came home with my washed laundry, she trew everything on the ground and stepped all over the wash clothes humiliating me and calling me names... SO yeah FUN. Carrying on. My mom always had the tendancy to go in my room and trought my things. What can i do.. Anyway , this is all for now.

That sounds like a really cool RP! If you could ever one day make a post detailing the plot, I would really like to read it! It seems like you had some really cool storylines, some of wich I would actually like to see on the show. But until you decide to make a post detailing it (if you ever decide to, that is), can you at least explain to me just how the Winged!Dean (not Angel!Dean) worked? Did he kept the wings? Thanks in advance!

Did Dean keeps his wings in your RP? Did he stay human? Did he get any other kind of power? Did he fly? Did use he them to teleport? Did he had any bowel problems like he did when Cas teleported him in the show? 2/2

Oh nonnie, this is a pretty long answer, but I’ll pitch it behind a cut.

First of all this considers some context.

It was a storyline we started running late S11 to early S12, right around when we knew hiatus was coming up. We decided to poke the idea of the Empty and put a story around it essentially having a break in it that was unleashing all sorts of chaos starting in the lower levels of the underworld (as if reality was set like a stack of pancakes and purgatory and hell were getting the first bullshit before it reached earth) - it was more of a conceptual threat at that point. In canon, Billie had evoked the idea of the Empty and we just went with basic mythology to extend on ideas of it, like primordial khaos and tohu v’vohu.

We are lucky, really, when we pulled our plot off over the lapse of because if this had gone down after Billie was killed we would have had a major non-canon-compliant plot hole once she reset to Death in the show and Saw The Whole Picture, but-

Let’s actually try to tell this artistically rather than linearly, because the story function itself was not linear. It started Mar 14 2016 for that given episode and we took a few days playing on it with that launching point.

And so, a retelling I’ll try to keep from writing like full fanfic. SHORTHAND RETELLING AHOY.

We all know the place – some two-pump gas station in the middle of nowhere surrounded by nothing but dull plains somewhere in midwestern America. Dean Winchester fills his gas tank at the car with dull noise from the Impala’s radio, waiting for Sam.

Wait, no, Sam wasn’t there. Right. He had decided to do a … thing. An important thing. Whatever. Dean could handle the case alone. Whatever. Cas was probably off doing angel things. He didn’t exactly keep a tracking chip on the angel. He was a strong independent celestial that didn’t need no man and was about as good as trying to herd an entire pack of cats when he got something in his head.

Inside – well – dude, you don’t even have pocket pies? What kind of bumfuck trash heap– and Abraham The Gas Station Clerk was about as friendly as anything else around. It wasn’t about to get any more thrilling ‘round there.

…

Dean was out alone on the mission. It was superfluous to consider renting out a hotel. The Impala served as a home well enough, even if it was strangely empty of company. It left him reflecting back at a memory – it couldn’t have been more than a few days ago, where Dean had learned a trick to prank-gift Castiel, ending with them sitting out under the stars on the impala after Sam had shaken his head, chuffed in quiet laughter, and moved on. Some chick that had all but married an angel had found a cantrip that let her bind angelic sigils to food and drink in a way they could actually appreciate it almost like a human, as if to live it by their hand – rather than just conceptually enjoy it. The result was one surprise!drunk Castiel that still managed to hold fairly insightful conversations with Dean.

The blessings of humanity, the want to stay with them through it all; and yet here Dean was, sleeping in the backseat of an Impala alone. No Cas. No Sam.

The radio squealed over its dull music and Dean sat up to completely twist off the keys in the ignition, since sleep wouldn’t happen to that noise. But maybe it was time to get back to his hunt.

Dean was pretty sure it had been about sixteen eternities since he found good food. Whatever day of the week or whatever had been met by wild resistance. Sam and Cas had been stupidly amused over pi day T-shirts on a day that DEAN COULDN’T EVEN FIND ANY PIE. That shit haunted him when he SLEPT. What the FUCK dudes. Honestly ever since the morning after of Castiel having his first angelic experience of a hangover – a conversation full of awkward that he felt like he had gone over about 1500 times in his head – he’d just been treading water. On case progress. On objectives. On getting a damn good beer. Just endless road which, in the past, might have felt liberating. Now it was some level of hell where he had a low animation budget in the background looping the same ten frames of grain on repeat and the occasional cow. Then again, that’s the midwest for you.

Crossing a bridge at night, Dean knew he was close to his objective. He just didn’t expect to find a young kid standing at the side of it with the classic “I’m going to jump” pose going on. At first he was convinced he was seeing a ghost but, once he pulled over and managed to talk the kid from the edge, he had been greeted by babbling of monsters in the dark and just wanting to go home. Kid got lost swimming but didn’t know how to get back and, looking about six, apparently had reached a point of crazy-desperation to consider just jumping back in.

But the kid – Isaac was his name – enforced they weren’t alone. That’s fine, that’s what Dean’s there for. He takes care of the bad guys. What he didn’t expect was, pulling the kid back to the car, seeing some lovecraftian abomination of dozens of eyes and strange wings and multiple heads cracking open in the horizon behind them. And it came out swinging.

In short summary, despite Dean’s valiant efforts, the kid fell into the water after slipping from his hand and, even trying to dive in after him (and to avoid the “WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT”), he couldn’t find anything in the water or the dark, but managed to slip by, get back to the car and BOOK IT. Not before his radio cranked up over 9000 and screeched so loud a few of the windows broke out, babbling in bullshit he could only recall similar to angel radio in its unintelligibility, but the thing behind slowed and fell back.

Dean being Dean didn’t really let that… sit well with him. He cursed himself, he cursed the THING – whatever the fuck that was – and tried to even consider how to handle it. He tried calling Sam. No signal. Of course. Without Sam’s magic wifi hair in the middle of fuckall nowhere, Dean would have to figure this one out alone. So around when he threw a mini tantrum and tossed his phone to the side he realized there was some dude standing in front of his car. You know, about 0.5 seconds before he hit the grill. Break slam. THUMPTHUMP. Screech.

Dean gets out and finds… it’s this old black guy in like 1920s attire and… he apparently fell under the car just-right to not become road kill. Dude complements on the state of the dream ride like, lmao dude what happened. Name’s Jacob Turner. Considering you ran me down, can I take a ride? Where you going – anywhere away from this hot mess.

And they talked. They talked a lot. And Jacob got more and more… left field about what he was talking about. Abstract. Even for their situation. You been having a lot of repeat dreams on this road alone, haven’t you; you run into some strange folks, don’t you; Me? Yeah, I’m dead. Got drowned after making some sideways devil deals. Chill out, I’m not going to hurt you, no point. Cuz… you’re dead too. You notice the planes are pretty bare? And how long since the sun come up?

Right.

That’s right.

Lucifer had been there. He could remember the face.

It was all blurry. Lucifer, about to look for a new vessel, had taken to hiding in some sort of distortion. Dean hadn’t understood the specifics, but it was similar to something the archangel had taught Gabriel before that they lived in the Mystery Spot. Or more, Sam lived and he got retellings. He didn’t exactly get the longhand explanation before, about 100 challenges of living his day ‘right’ later – which summarily boiled down to ‘stay out of my business and mind your own’ – Dean had rebelliously tried to slam down the archangel in what he could only call a timeless space they all lingered in.

The archangel had drawn out his blade and… quite simply run the man through. Less simply was the time spiral of evoking all of his old deaths in loop. They managed to banish Lucifer from the room, but by that point, the memory echo of the hellhound that had first dragged Dean to hell had gotten ahold of him, and how does one fight off a death that already happened?

Sam and Cas were there. He remembered that panic. Castiel tried to restore him but it was only prolonging the mauling that was already set in stone from times past. And with much grief and tears, and much yelling about DOING SOMETHING from Sam, they finally agreed to have to let him go. That alone was its own highly emotional RP experience that would require a full telling, to be honest – to really strike home what happened.

Frankly it was the first time Castiel had to watch Dean die in front of him, too. This wasn’t just metatron telling him. So enjoy first round of angelic rage-grief. They actually had to hold him back from going berserker on a reaper only he could see because it was just making it all worse. Sam was just about catatonic.

Dean’s horrified realization was interrupted by another radio squeal. He heard his name. He heard a voice he knew. He heard Castiel.

Jacob started yelling at the damn radio to mind his own business and let the dead be dead, how the hell you even getting through here– there’s no coming back. Hell, Dean pretty much implored the same. Sam and Cas needed to leave well enough alone. If he wasn’t just imagining that to begin with.

How WAS he still… doing things? Oh, Jacob all too helpfully clarified. You kind of dream. The world started as its own dream anyway. Before gods and demons, there was just a big fat nothing until something had the audacity to start dreaming, I guess. Mostly angels and stuff like that went there – that’s what that big fucking monster in the distance was. Generally they been there long enough they don’t even dream anymore. But Dean had been dreaming so damn loudly it woke up a few other sleepers in his vicinity.

THAT was an angel? Well, yeah, they’re actually kind of terrifying looking when they’re not behind a pretty face.

So what now – I just… dream everything and make some weirdo world? Well, you can be stubborn like God and try to make your own but that generally don’t work out right and you’ll never really remake what you know, it won’t really be them. Or you can do what most of us do, get tired and take a deep sleep.

To hell with that. With ANY of that.

Sam and Castiel had been turning over the books day in and day out for days. There was really nothing about it that had any merit. Sam buried himself in the library and Castiel buried himself in feelings of remorse over his inability to help. And frankly – the angel had prayed to the man. And a few days back, he swore he felt a spark. It was enough for him to not give up, to start planning, to have Sam and the others pull grace from him to keep in vials in case his ideas went wrong. To call Crowley. To do many things. And the second time he pled into the nothing again, that old profound bond of theirs that connected grace and soul had made a line, but he was met with confusion and hostility.

But Dean… well, still existed.

And Dean, fresh with that last call, woke up in Nothing, only to be met by – which we yelled and armflailed about a year later – a big black nothing blob taking his shape and pretty much counterpointing him into the need for sleep. Stop disturbing the issues there. But this thing– this thing was a bit different from how it later turned up in the show – and frankly, was getting under his skin to see if he COULD find some way out. It was trapped past the Tzimtzum, even if with all the cosmic law breaking that had worn thin recently.

Crowley was called. Sam very, very tentatively but carefully made a contract of his own to convince Crowley to agree to. It was more of a coin flip situation. Everyone involved in this – including supporting hunters and shamans they had called together – would actually surrender not just their souls but their hunting wares if this didn’t work. A winning gamble, premised only on Crowley’s utter assistance in the process. Try to backtrack and it would be considered moot. Run interference and it was moot. But instead, taking what was left of the shards of Cas’ human soul beneath weakened grace, while they held a vial of it for emergency, again, if shit went sideways, and pretty much serving as an anchor in hell to break through the weakened veil at its point and reach into the empty.

The long and short of it was that they Profound Bond contacted each other and Dean got tractored out once telling Dean to let him in amidst the nothing-dream, but in locking on that way, Cas’ tether to his own grace got traded off to Dean who woke up angel-mode while Cas struggled with a heavily overtaxed once-vessel-now-body and essentially… got healed.

Crowley would never admit it, but for a moment when he thought they failed at first, he was disappointed or even sad – and again, though he would never say it, relieved and accomplished once everyone walked away from this. Given, angel!Dean was a little more than he could handle. Toodles.

THE I AGGRESSIVELY PROTECT YOU SAGA

Anyway, it wasn’t the first time Cas had parted with his grace and he was far more experienced in just about everything this go around. And frankly, they didn’t know how to undo it early on. So here we go.

There was a lot of plucky fun in it, like Dean realizing how easy it was to become a weirdo creeper. Like - with him, wings were fresh and unbroken and he learned he could just LE POOF around and it was AWESOME. Until he realized he had to have beer bound like everybody else did. And food. Hell, he just realized “it’s been two weeks since I had the urge to jack off, what the hell.” “…Dude. No.”

But he’d try to tether onto someone to poof in and poofed into the strangest situations we had fun with. Like the opportunity for Cas to stop in the bathroom and turn around morning-cleanup, “Dean… …personal space.” Right.

Or Sam rolling awake and seeing Dean staring at him DUDE. “Sorry, I can’t sleep.”

Dean asking how to summon the angel blade from the armpit dimension. Etc.

But considering the last go-round with Cas being human and kicked out of the bunker, when they started addressing their other surrounding plot-issues, Dean was like HAHAHA NOPE NOPE NOPE you STAY and everyone was like dude, Dean, chill. TLDR Cas legit angel warded himself and took off with another hunter to handle an adjacent issue that he didn’t want Sam & Dean to sully their hands and conscience with.

This also requires some context. When I started running this game I inherited players from a previously established RP that was… a little less canon compliant? Like a girl from around the Amelia saga had essentially replaced Amelia but she was a nephilim and had a kid with Sam? Our Sam player wasn’t thrilled about it when she ported in but we tried to be inclusive and make it work. Problem is that girl was a walking bag of trouble that wanted to be the perfect mother but the perfect man of letters but a nephilim but flirting with Lucifer and then couldn’t understand why the other characters were eternally pissed at her, because unlike her previous game, nobody was woobifying TFW and everybody was like THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU.

Either way, that whole Lucifer looking for a vessel had been trying to groom the little girl, lineaged from Sam and nephilim blooded, until she could be his. He was uncle Lucy! (gag me with a spoon) but yeah. Sam at least was trying to negotiate with the mother and ‘make amends’ – not really rekindle as much as be aware his kid was in HUGE FUCKING DANGER. But Cas had also seen something dangerous in Sam’s eyes that he knew Sam would regret. If that woman didn’t let them start taking care of that child, Sam could very well snap and kill this chick at this point for the sake of bringing the child to safety.

Either way, the girl had become SUCH a walking bag of trouble all around to them including running off with the kidlet that Castiel legit decided, time to kill this nephilim and VANISHED from Dean’s radar, went blackout mode, turned off devices.

Went on some crazy journey with a shaman that taught him about native american lore, gave him an eagle fetish totem and explained the meaning of the messenger from the sky… went through Colorado. Cas realized eating an entire bag of candy bought in Colorado was a bad idea. Cas got stoned as fuck and shenanigans happened. He turned on his phone and sent a picture of a P-Bee-J the shaman had made him to Dean who was at this point LOSING HIS SHIT. Like… a hot dog bun with jelly stripes and PB filling and pretzel antenna. Best thing.

Either way, everybody caught up to where they were converging. Sam was out with dumbmama in Yellowstone, Cas and the shaman had caught up but not reconvened with the group. Dean angel-pinged into the Impala. Sam and Dean had a dustup over Dean acting like a lunatic about Cas being out with the shaman. Like, are you jealous for her? NO. …Soooo is it Cas? NO. I’ma call them. *ensue brother wrestling match in the car over the phone before life changing advent*

Either way, they weren’t the only ones hunting the nephilim. An old angelic badass that haunted the game dropped in and everything went sideways. Everybody kind of doorkicked in at the same time on the scene by pathway overlap, Dean and Cas had a kerfluffle they had to focus past, Sam and Cas got put on getting the kid safely to the angel warded car, the mom went down, Cas doubled back to find Dean getting ironically angel bulleted (again I lost it when angel killing bullets became a thing) and used the grace vial in protection long enough to get them out.

Cue reconciliation talk once everybody’s safe at the bunker. Keep in mind at this point the story has run into very-early S12 (started just before 11x14 but we don’t hiatus), so the irony in some of this modernly is hilarious.

Dean tells Cas he can’t go dark on them like that, he was worried, that wasn’t okay. Castiel apologizes, says he didn’t mean to worry them – you get where this is going, right? Only I’ll admit we didn’t prophecize a mixtape, Cas gave Dean a raven totem he found on his journeys with the shaman for him. They reconciled briefly.

Powers aside they essentially came to understand Dean didn’t want the life, wings and burden given to him and started resolving how to fix it.

In the TLDR, yes, they essentially grace swapped back. The totems came up later. I mean past the whole “I gave him a fetish” joke that ran endlessly. “DUDE. STOP SAYING FETISH.” - Sam; but yeah, the eagle totem came back up at a later saga during what we called Casmodeus with the same shaman helping step in with Dean to get Cas back to his senses, which also showed later in that video.

It all wrapped up in a related mytharc of Lucifer, his servant Judas the surviving late-created Knight of Hell Cain hadn’t known about, and all kinds of other stuff, including the death of the child during the Judas/Casmodeus saga – which again, also features briefly in that video. The entity from the empty would haunt them for a while afterwards too, but that took a while to really resurface and would have been in the next video if I had the chutzpah to try to sequence it. Abraham-Isaac-Jacob were just names Japeth took on as a conscious voice for The Empty, taking on the ancient titan concept of Iapetus and sealed in their proverbial Tartarus after the flood drowned out rebel angels and nephilim into The Empty, touched on a whole bit of lore about the Curse of Ham and needing all kinds of crazy components and special soils from ancient lands and so on.

Its about one year since my last post, so I will start this of with a little sum-up about whats been going on in my life since march last year.

In my last post I left it of stating that I was going to chill with the boys, and focus on work. I guess I didnt completely manage to ive up to that. Having that said, Ive been more true to my self then I have in the past at least. The bouS:

Max:

We met a few times on dates, we had a one-night stand and we also went for a walk. I was always a bit scared to get to into him, as it was clear hw wanted to get out of Norway and see the world. And thats what he did He moved to Germany this fall, I think he is haveing a good time there. Good for him!

Pål:

Me and Pål are still friends, though there is something about our chemistry that always ends up with flirting. I think he is still into me. I have a tendency to always reject him in a nice way. He respects it though, and I dont think I am taking advantage of him. I met him last night on his birthday, wich was nice. I dod make sure to go home before I got too drunk though.. We also meet every second month or so though a dinner club we have started with common good freind Siri. Very nice.

We were supposed to meet up again and have some fun a few weeks ago, but hew then all of a sudden had started to date his old summer fling and called it of. Not very suprsing I must say. Speaking of, it might also have something to do with the fact that I dated his ex boyfriend this summer. I found out about it on the last date I had with the guy (whom I cant remember the name of anymore). A very handsome architect in his late 30s. It was sort of a turn-of for us both that we had been with the same guy though I think. More about that later

Marous I met around May/June last year. Hes a 36 year old nurse, wirking with HIV at Olafia clinic in Oslo. Marius is in many ways a bit like me. POsitive, firendly, medium self confidence, creative, a bit weird, tall. We were a really good match, and had some very nice dating time before the summer hoilday. For some reason though, It felt like we were a bit to simlar. Not enough friction. So- after my summer holiday when he was away, I was out dancing one night - wich leves me to Ingemar. The guy who made me understand I should not be with Marius anymore (aka I dumped him 3 weeks after I met ingmar).

Ingemar:

24 year old guy. Crazy, handsome, cute, smart and a handfull... We met at the dancefloor and then spent every nihght together for a week. Very intence, and also at the point when I was not done with Marius yet. He was ony on town for a week before he went to exchange studioes at a Architecture aschool in france. We kept in touch during fall and talked a lot on the phone. He met the fwall and kept me in the loop on his journey, wich made our connectionquote special. Somehow I really started to care for him. Whn he came home around chrsitmas, I think we were both wondering about what our connection was really about. I did not really feel a “in love” connection anymore, but I think I tried to lie to myself and try to convince myself that I did. Maybe he did the smae. We met once before xmas, and then we talked and texted thoughtout the holidays about our lives. Very deep - kind of to ddep maybe? I invited him over in the beginning of december, and it kind of felt a bit forced and unromatic. At the same time, we totally opepend up so I know alot about him and vice versa. We ended up concluding with that we are better of as friends. I think thats a good thing, and it will be interesting to see how our connection will continue. Will the freindship thing come natural, or will it still be weird once in a while? Time will show. Im not 100% sure myself about how much it makes sence to be in touch...

Germain:

Me and Germain met a year ago. At that time I had decided to have a boy break, so I dodnt follow up. This fall I saw hime on Gaysir, and invited him out for a date. Hes a super cute, smart mexican 28 year old boy. Very passionate about his studies, hobbies and work, and a stable soul. I like many sides of his. Having that said, we have not met in over a month, so I am not really sure where it is going. He texts me, and want h´to hear how I am doing, but he also never have toime to meet up because of his tight schedule. I have a tight schedule, but I still manage to prioritize. Before xmas, we met maybe 5 times. Nice trios, dates, kissin, food. The last night when we were suposed to have sex was though a bit awkward. We could not go though w it, as he told me he just found out he had an STD in his throat. Aka not even kissing. Anyways, to be honest - I am not really quite sure what to di with him. Its like he is the only one I am currently “in touch” with, but if its not leading anywhere - is it perhaps better to just close the case? If I dont hear from him in a week, I am out.

So . that was my last year with boys. A ot of very interesting boys, but nothing that really hit the right note it seems. Ive been frustrated lately, as it feels like Ive allready met all the good boys in the city, and Im getting anxous out and about as there are so many old flames anywhere I go. Fuck budies, dates, Grid faces... urgh... So - right now I am on a gay break. No applications, no onlune profiles. I even deleted my 10 year old gaysir profile...

It actually feels quite refreshing. I really needed a littel mental break, something I think is really good for me. I will try to keep it up for the next 4 weeks, before I start opening up again. I still have some fuck buddies though, wich helps. Ive meet them both now for quite some time, so it feels safe and nice. Before I started this “off face”, I was very out there. I dont think Ive ever had as much sex in my life as ive had the last 12 months. Because of this, I applied to get PREP in december. Something I ironcly got one week before I deleted my profiles. Its been great to have sex without a condom with my normal partners though. For the past month Ive taken a pill every day, but I will stop doing that and focus it around planned meetings after my next doctors appointment.

So - sum up about boys:

I met a lot of great guys, and now I feel exhausted and a bit drained and frustrated. I have forgotten how it felt to be in a realtionship and beeing cudeled every night. Definelty in a veryindepenent phase somehow. Im k´going to keep it like that for a little bit longer.

Other in life, its been a eventful year. I bought my own appartment, a lovely small place in gamlebyen. Ive spent all of my money and a lot of my time fixing it up and getting it into shape. I am quite happy with it :-)

Also, Ive had a bit of a hard year workwise. Two of my biggest projects ever did not go how I watd them to. I did not manage to stir them the way I wanted, and as a result I crashed a bit last fall mentally. I lost a lot of confidence, and started questioning everything. I dont fell like talking to much a out it, as Ive allready processed it quite well, but what that is worth mentioning though is that it made me think about a lot of things I have not thoght about in a long itme. Such as future goals, dreams, expectations to myself and what that really matters in life.

I am writing this post now partly because I dont want myself to forget the journey I started, and what fruites I have gotten so far. What do I need to do to keep this up?

Basically, I felt frustrated and asked myself what I could do to get more focused, inspired etc. I decided to talk with a school, AHO, and their MA course in service design. I have been thinking about maybe applying there this coming fall. I also talked with one of my bosses to see if I somehow could learn and work with the same things at the office - and school myself there. To be honest - I started up very good - but have not been good at follwing up. I will keep this in mind on my “goals list” in the end of this post.

Ive started working as a voluntair at Sjekkpungt, something thta has been very intersting so far. My role is to test people for HIV. So far Ive only been and the workshops, but in a months time, I will start testing people myself. Looking forward to that.

Ive gotten active in Grafill, and their graphic design group. So far its been really fun. I might take of the the spot as lader of the group ina months time, wich is great. I would love to be more active with those kind of issues.

Work has btw been quite nice now after XMAS. Ive finished all my projects in time, and delivered fairly well on all of them I think.

Ive also managed to get two freelance gigs. One for Stanavger Kunssenter, and one for Tableau. I really enjoy working on them both, now I just need to do them!

Other then that, Ive been hitting the gym A LOT lately, and I am slowly starting to get results. Body feels more toned, and I am starting to get quite comfertable with how I look. I will do what I can to keep it up!

SO - to do list:

- Stay of apps for anohter few weeks

- Give Germain one week to make up his mind, then be straight forward and move on.

- Keep up the gym - six pack by april (text PT)

- Have FUN with freelance work. Focus hard the next few days. Finish webshop, email Katrin, make “shop” logo.
