My March order from the Godzilla Store finally arrived. It's great to finally have a Fire Anguirus '55 to go with my older Ice Godzilla '55, and fun to have a classic Minilla figure.

However, as expected, the Minilla figure is shockingly terrifying. First off, is that the sculptors decided to stick weirdly close to the genuine texture of the suit down to including the place where the suit actor would get inside--so poor Minilla has a horrifying scar down his back.

I *guess* you could say he got that from the Kamacuras right after he hatched, but yikes!

The more horrifying part is the decision to scale him much too large. He comes to Godzilla's chin in the 6-inch scale, which is much too tall! He makes poor Shin Ultraman look small here, and he becomes a terrifying & towering monster when compared to the Ultra-500 line of Ultraman figures!

We are all doomed.

They have made me more open-hearted and caring towards other people, and I will forever be thankful for that.

The Nerdfighter community has affected me in a immense way.

Everything I have learned from the Nerdfighters. John and Hank have opened my eyes to many different ideas, facts, the diversity of the world, and many things that make me laugh.

I am positive that if I never found out about the Nerdfighter community I would be a very different person today. I thank every Nerdfighter out there for being who you are. You motivate me every day.

Regarding Serana, I have seen others concluce she’s probably from the interregnum (between Alessian and Reman), because as I said, the vampire architecture was completely different from the Nord architecture they had built upon, putting her as being pre-Alessian as highly unlikely. “Cyrodiils is the seat of an empire?” could still mean she’s from the interregnum, not that there has never been an empire, just that it hasn’t been for centuries.

Alessia came to power over a century after Harald was around, so he must have been dead, but that’s just a detail, your point stands that the Ayleids were defeated/Alessia came to power a century after the last Snow Elves were slaughtered.

I can’t see why the Chantry would have fallen this early, since first of all, they were there, isolated as a sanctuary for the last of their kind, and heard of the “Dwarves’ offer”, far too late to intervene. Meaning they were around, likely Gelebor and Vyrthur too, to hear of the Dwarves taking in and blinding their kinsmen. Then, centuries later, long enough for them to have completely devolved into the feral Falmer we see in the Vale, the enslaved Snow Elves’ descendants took the Chantry and killed everyone.

As Gelebor says, and as only makes sense, it took many generations for them to become those monsters. Whether or not they were one group of escapees when the Dwemer were still around, or if it happened after 1E 700, we can’t know.

Yes, the “beginning of the first era” is very vague, like I said, and could even mean very late Merethic, depending on how one is counting. (From the present, “near the beginning of the first era” sounds like very early first era, but considering that the Snow Elves had a great empire in the Merethic, it could just as well mean “near the end of the Merethic era”.)

I understand that with how long the first era lasted, in the grand scale of things, 1E 500 could still be seen as “near the beginning”.

It can’t have been constructed many centuries into the 1st era though, since the Snow Elves built it, not as a sanctuary to those fleeing war and genocide, but as “a retreat to those who wished to become enlightened”. Meaning their culture was still at some strength when it was built. (And again, Gelebor coming there so much later that the knowledge on how to construct it had been lost.)

So, my spouse has been exploring his gender lately; he also just built himself a new laptop. Today he told me that he in an attempt to process some genderfeels through metaphor, he made a post on a trans forum along the lines of: "I'm a lifelong Windows user and I think I'm pretty good at it. I want to find out what Linux has to offer but I'm afraid I wouldn't be any good at it. And how do you choose the right Linux distro, anyway? Do you have to try them all?"

The responses, he said, were a mix of useful advice about feeling out your gender and useful advice about choosing a Linux distro.

Been rewatching a lot of the Star Trek spin-off shows recently and it has me once again ruminating on my favorite Enterprise designs.

My absolute favorite is, of course, always going to be the refit and Enterprise-A from the Original Series movies.

To me, this is just how a starship should look. It's a perfect update of the original design and it looks amazing on so many levels.

My second favorite has quickly become the Enterprise from Discovery and Strange New Worlds.

It definitely helps that I picked up the really cool Hallmark ornament of it last year.

It's a perfect blending of the original show design with the best parts of the refit. The only thing it's lacking is the torpedo launcher on the "neck," but that's true to the original series design.

After all, the Kelvin timeline Enterprise had the launcher and it didn't make that design any better.

My third favorite is definitely still the Enterprise-E.

Sure, it looks a little bit like Voyager, but I love how it calls to mind the classic Enterprise with some elements of the Next Generation mixed in. Plus, unlike Voyager, the big nacelles keep it from looking like a serving spoon.

I still haven't gotten to Picard yet, so I can't say how I feel about the F or G or whatever letter they are up to now, but I look forward to finding out.
