can i *coughs* can i hear more about this sb and robin love square??
maybe i should make a tag for it to group all the posts i make about it but uhhh
its basically just me playing with the lovesquare pairings and taking moments from the mlb show and applying timkon to it, like the balcony scene. its not a super detailed au or whatever.
one of the biggest things i wished the show did was explore how the different dynamics change and kind of merge into one as they get to know each other better, or how they could potentially reverse dynamics so i imagine smth like that happening w this au i guess
i guess the first one would be called superrobin? superboy and robin meet each other as heroes and become a team, and its pretty much the same as ladynoir in the show. flirting and bantering, unending trust and loyalty and adoration, but the secret identities keep them a hair apart. in the comics, SB takes a bit to come around but i do think he's always admired and cared about robin's opinion of him, and then the whole angst trust issue thing ladynoir got going on in s4 is sort of like tim and kon in the era of comics where kon had trouble trusting tim bc tim wouldnt reveal his name and was secretive.
i haven't seen the last eps of s4 but im pretty sure there's a whole thing where mari thinks felix is adrien and he gets annoyed/jealous? yeah im imagining that but with Match posing as Kon and kon being annoyed lol
then there's timkon, which i guess would be their civilian pairing? conner at first thinks tim is stuck up and acts like he's above it all, which is taken from their early dynamic in the comics and i just applied it to the civilian side. meanwhile tim is trying to deny his feelings. you know how marinette is like a fashion designer or whatever? i think tim should be a photographer
then you have...robinkon? robkon? which is the equivalent to ladrien. i guess both would be very flustered but idk what else to say about this one
and finally supertim...or timSB idkkkk. the marichat equivalent where you have tim and superboy who have the least affectionate opinion of each other in this form, but have a cool opportunity to get to see the other side of their pal. like superboy gets to see tim when he's not robin and how he's just a Kid you know trying his best, and tim gets to see that superboy isn't always bombastic and obnoxious and can be quite sweet, helping him realize that SB is a pretty good hero and a cool guy. of course in this, superboy wouldn't know tim is robin, but then he'd be nicer to tim when he's conner now that he's more understanding. also that episode where chat has to be marinette's bodyguard and she tries to hide her teasing? or the balcony scene? i like imagining those with them lol
also im pretty sure theres a theory adrien is a sentimonster or clone thingy and kon is a clone soooooo theres that too

MAIN TAG: mlb meta
SHIP STUFF
Put your money on ladynoir, kids
On the merits of imperfection (why ladrien is my favourite side of the love square)
The innage tragedy of ladrien, and why I love it
So here’s the thing: (from the perspective of character growth, reversing the love square makes no sense)
To phrase this better than I did so late at night that it was technically morning: (lukanette is a masterclass in the crucial difference between showing and telling)
The NYC special might’ve sunk lukanette before it ever had the chance to happen
if we’re using “friendship is more important than a celebrity crush” to argue against the love square…
On shipping dynamics within the love square, mainly marichat vs. ladrien
ADRIEN AGRESTE MY BELOVED
Adrien Agreste and the limelight
Adrien Agreste and the question of unmasking
Some speculation about Gabriel’s possible ways out of being Hawkmoth and how they will affect Adrien
To cross your DNA with something reptile (on sentiadrien, because who needs narrative logic when you can have angst)
Being the topic du jour and all (the show has already shown that getting his amok can’t be a ~beautiful metaphor~ for sentiadrien’s freedom)
If sentiadrien is meant to be a commentary on child abuse then someone has no idea how stories work (spoiler: it’s not, because abuse is funny on this show)
SPOILER: I’M A CHLOÉ STAN I GUESS
Ending Chloé’s story as a villain would be a vaste of screentime and that’s why they shouldn’t
This be the verse (let’s just say I’m less than impressed with how early S4 handled the Bourgeois family drama)
Some more Zoé meta
Let’s talk narratological theory to explain why Chloé is an abused child in the text even if the creator insists she isn’t
WHY LUKA ISN’T MY FAVOURITE CHARACTER
Spoiler: Luka Isn’t A Great Character Yet (written in response to some people’s very low standards after “Truth” aired)
In fact he’s so poorly written that he’s pretty much an unintentional parody
Overthinking things (they don’t mean it like that but I saw some uncomfortable sexist themes to Luka’s akuma powers, both times)
Can we please stop blaming Marinette for Luka being a simp
MIXED BAG
Paper faces on parade (comparing and contrasting Marinette Dupain-Cheng and Gabriel Agreste)
On the feminist merits of MLB
The Scarf Came Back (on “Mr. Pigeon 72″ and the meaning of its many callbacks to early S1)
Related: S4 and “Gorizilla”
Jagged Stone is… (a spoiled manchild who’d be an awful parent if he’d stuck around and they were better off without him)
“Gang of Secrets” was underwhelming and that’s a problem
I finally realised where my entire problem with “Gang of Secrets” lies
Right now my main hope for S4 is that I’ll come out of it shipping alyanette like it’s going out of style (this show should’ve put more effort into Alya like three seasons ago)
MLB and the bad rich people
Some observations and a poor attempt at analysing the depiction of wealth in Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir
No, Marinette isn’t a Mary Sue (because I refuse to acknowledge linguistic drift and “Mary Sue” does not mean what you think it means)
Etymology ragepost, MLB edition
This show just can't up the stakes in battle
NOT REALLY META BUT STILL
Chloé should discover Cat Noir’s identity it’d be great
I also really want Felix to become a gentleman thief
What if all the heroes knew everyone’s identities except Cat Noir’s, wouldn’t that be super fun and not at all heartbreaking
My ideas for the Secret Sibling were way better than who it turned out to be tbh
Did you know that I have a tag devoted to Kagami being a fujoshi
Outline of the Hikaru no Go AU someone else should totally write
“Puppeteer 2″ was a microcosm of the Cat Noir-Ladybug-Nino-Alya mess of S4
Marinette is canonically bi in the Norwegian dub
GOING OFF ON OTHER PEOPLES’ POSTS
The Umbrella Scene Redux in the NYC special wasn’t about Adrien falling for Marinette but a foreshadowing of the importance of friendship going onward
Adrien’s pain lies not in unrequited love, but projecting his abandonement issues onto Ladybug
A small but heartfelt declaration to adrigami
When you have to make your characters repeatedly insist that someone is so totally in love, it’s not coming across as totally convincing to your audience
tl;dr I suspect that the reason marichat is so popular and ladrien is correspondingly disliked is about gender roles, actually
On marichat and ladrien and romance tropes
No really, ladrien is stupid and that’s why I love it
The Reveal is supremely unlikely to happen before the deciding battle against Gabriel and if it does, they won’t get together before it anyway
MLB’s got a bit of a genre problem and that’s why the plot cannot ever move
Chloé is the Loki of the MLB fandom and given how much attention the show proper gave her compared to the rest of the secondary cast, Thomas Astruc has no right to be surprised about it
Chloé can’t be Queen Bee again before she realises that she doesn’t need to be Queen Bee to do good things
More Chloé analysisin’: An irredeemable character wouldn’t need a three-episode storyline to explain her reluctant fall for the villain
Some people finding the sentiadrien narrative a healing parable about emotional abuse does not stop it from functionally annulling the actual emotional abuse the show depicted

theory
random theory bc i was in the shower and just thought of this but like what if the shortened lyrics were like foreshadowing the seasons of mlb like
MIRACULOUS- is like s1 when marinette and adrien get their miraculous
SIMPLY THE BEST - Is s2 when they defeat like all of those red villains bc only like the best can defeat them lot. The lyrics talk about every miraculous and not just ladybug or whatever and as you see in that episode, it's clearly more than one hero defeating those villains
UP TO THE TEST- Is s3 when they defeat like queen wasp bc like yk a test is normally what you do to prove smth to someone and marinette proved that she could kinda be a guardian
WHEN THINGS GO WRONG- Is s4 when Hawkie took every miraculous except the cat and bug bc well yk smth clearly went wrong
MIRACULOUS- is s5 when they retrieve the miraculous
and the other lyrics are unknown. ig for s6 is
THE LUCKIEST-because hawkie is defeated and adrien probably has his mom back but yk, this hasn't happened yet so idk
Honestly I could very well be wrong but if that's the case I have another theory which was like this entire show is just Marinette's tale to her children, like just think about how basic it was at first. Classic bully and same plot but like as her children grew, the story got more complex with everything going everywhere because her children weren't kids anymore bc before like every episode was the same old plot where Marinette was in school, and something happened to cause an akuma attack and blah blah blah.
It could also have been a tale for her kids so they could deal with whatever was happening to them irl, for example when Lila joined, it could have been because one of her kids were suffering bc of a liar but in the end of s5 there was like an end scene where everything around her started levitating and stuff so yeah. They most likely killed her off bc one of mari's kids wasn't suffering this problem anymore.
Another theory of my own is one of these characters is suffering from 8th grader syndrome which is when you have weird fantasies where you are usually a hero from a past life or smth and yh (think Kaidou from tdlosk or that one kid from Komi Can't Communicate)
Honestly idek if anyone has thought of any of these before or if they are even correct. I've always had a feeling that it was all a tale marinette was reading to her children bc it says in the name. it could also be some sort of myth in the real far future but i'm thinking it's most likely the first option bc not only is it all so thought ahead but in most cartoons, when a character is retelling a story, it usually transitions to a scene in where the characters telling the story are portrayed as the stories characters.
idek if any of this is just me rambling and slowly going insane lol

Okay. Let's talk a bit about Chat Noir, shall we?
Tumblr media
MLB fandom got so fucking toxic right now. Just why? Those two idiots will get together anyway so why so much hate rn?
And i should stay quiet. I know. But I want to show how I see stuff, because it just pains me to see how people are lashing out on either Marinette or Adrien. (And tbh I love seeing both of them suffer. Even tho Adrien is my fav character lmao)
A little bit about Chat in former Season's.
To understand why Adrien is renouncing his ring we should look at Adrien as a whole character and everything that was happening before s4e23.
So, Adrien is a 14yo child, closed up in his room for basically 90% of his life. His father is neglecting him emotionally and the schedule of this boy is full most of the time. Plus he is famous and he didn't asked for it.
Then, when his mother 'disappears' (I'm sure that he is sure that she is dead.) he rebels and goes to public school. Thats the time when he gets his miraculous and a floating stomach of a kwami called Plagg. He can get out of the prison of a mansion and actually fight real supervillans. He can use magic etc etc.
No wonder boy was excited. He gained new experience and not just any experience but extreme one!
He meets Ladybug and falls in love with her creativeness and confidence. (He didn't fall in love at first sight, he fell in love with her when she called out Hawkmoth) They work together perfectly for who knows how long. (The time in this show isn't exactly specified so \_('-')_/) He is used to work with her as duo. Even in Hero's Day he says: "Then let's get back to what's always worked - a duo! You and me against the world, M'lady!"
He isn't against the idea of more heroes, but he is most comfortable with their duo as it's the oldest what they have.
Tumblr media
First doubts. Nearly ring renounce.
We have Syren. Adrien is left out from knowing about the guardian of the miraculous and he feels like more and more secrets are between him and Ladybug. Only she knows the identities of other heroes, and only she can go and give them out? Why? Does she not trust him?
The person i hate most in this show is probably Fu and Gabe. But I will talk about Fu later in this post.
Let's get back to Syren.
Adrien knows that Plagg knows something. AND ACTUALLY HE COULD COMMAND PLAGG TO TELL HIM BUT HE DIDN'T. Why am I highlighting this? Because Adrien still gives Plagg a way to be himself, freedom of choice and doing as he pleases. Yes he tries to convince him or rather bully him into speaking, but he still gives him a choice of refusing.
Why Adrien threatened to take off his miraculous instead of commanding his kwami into telling him? Because he still respects Plagg. Like genuinely. Why he made a threat overally? He was desperate. Desperate to be in the circle of people who 'know'.
Why Fu didn't want to tell CN about himself? Is it because if CN gets akumatised his identity is screwd? Isn't it the same risk with Marinette? Why should Chat wait for right time to get to know shit?
Tumblr media
New York Special. First actual renounce.
In NY special, Chat actually renounces his ring, leaving it with Ladybug. Why?
After going to NY without informing LB about that, they are fighting a supervillan in NY while in Paris there is a sentimonster. Ladybug is frustrated and disappointed in Chat. And by that he is tabbed right where it hurts the most.
Let's thank Gabe here. Whenever Gabriel is disappointed in his son he gives him the worst possible punishment. For example, when Adrien lost the Grimoire, Gabriel put him out of school, knowing that this is what would hurt him the most. He didn't care that Adrien genuinely didn't know how important that was and that he just wanted to know more about HIS OWN FUCKING FATHER. He just hit him were it hurt most.
So when he sees how LB is disappointed in him, he overreacts. And other heroes like Owl, who said that LB is there only to fix his messes, didn't help his mental state either after he accidentally killed their robo-friend.
He gets so warped in his mind, that he has done something wrong that he overreacts by renouncing his ring. He tries to prevent making mistakes by running away. It's the safest option in his mind. No one will get disappointed in him if he won't be cat noir. No one will get hurt because of him (killed or badly injured) if he won't be cat noir.
Tumblr media
Kuro Neko. The second renouncement of black cat ring and Ladybug's guardianship.
So now that we know a little bit more about Adrien, let's acrually talk about Kuro Neko renouncement, his s4 relationship with Ladybug and how her guardianship impacted it.
Ladybug got hell lots of pressure, thanks to Fu. There was so much of it that she just snapped and the next thing we know: she reveals her identity to Alya! Yeey, sun and rainbows. She is fine! Or is she?
Tumblr media
Obviously, she is not. Whole that pressure is still at the back of her head, slowly waiting at the right moment to strike. So she confides in Alya a lot. They talk about superhero stuff a lot, just like they can talk about rl stuff like crushes or homework. And it works for her. For a time.
We don't know yet what happened exactly that she lashed out at Chat Noir. There has to be another thing that allowed the pressure to get in place at the front of her mind.
But we will get to that in a moment.
Marinette started to unknowingly to herself replace Chat with Alya. Before Chat was the only one who knew how it is to try and keep both covilian and superhero lives apart, secret and what a burden that is. Now she also have Alya. And when she feels most burned up, who will she rather go? To someone she doesn't know face of but was there from the beginning or to someone who she knows personally best, trusts and who helps her all the time in her civilian life? (I'm not telling she doesn't trust Chat noir, it's just that she is much closer to Alya than to Chat overall)
Chat is left out much more, she doesn't talk with him much. In Hack-San she made a huge mistake by not telling him that she gives lb miraculous to someone else. Yes, they talk and 'work it out', but is it fixed actually? Do you really think that one talk is able to fix everything?
She promises him that she won't abandon him. And yes, she isn't abandoning him. She is pushing him away. (I will repeat it again, she doesn't even know that) Getting back dk Adrien, one talk in this regard isn't going to fix a slowly growing insecurities in him. He has insecurities?
Yes he has insecurities. Throughout whole s4 we see little Chat Noir. He didn't got to battle in time during Optigami, he hardly does anything in battles like in crocoduel. Hell, in Ephemeral she actually is able to defeat villain without him, although then he is glad because he couldn't be there for her and he doesn't think about it much at that time.
In Rocketear his insecurities grow more as he learns that Nino and Alya knows each other identities. He doesn't give a fuck that they are the ones who are superheroes. He cares that they know. And that ladybug allowed them to get to know them. (Let's add to that whole shit Nino talked about his superhero self. And although partly true (Adrien needs to stop being pushy like in Glaciator 2) I can guess it could hurt him somewhere deep down. His pride or sth)
So then we have Ephemeral. Whole episode was absolutely shit, no logic and huge disappointment but we still have few info there.
Mostly, how LB is treating him. Because she isn't treating him like her equal. Fuck, why did she make whole that complicated plan to get to know his identity? She could have asked him and tell him that SuHan is making problems. (Although old guardian has a point but with those two of course it won't work because it's either both of them or none. And we can see how well it works for them when only she knows!)
And then when they come back from space and hacking stelite (shouldn't she call Max for that? It would be more believable), she brushes him off when he wants to know what was that all about. She won't tell him shit.
No wonder he feels left out. No wonder he won't tell her how he feels when his trust in her is strained. No wonder that all that bottled up hurt explodes at somepoint.
Tumblr media
So what will happen in Kuro Neko?
We will see at Monday! But. I do have a guess.
Adrien sees that Ladybug is well without him. All the hurt from whole s4 is coming to him. So he decides to see what will she say if he won't show up. After few times we see what is in trailer. Ladybug calling him a partner like very one else. (And yes, some people are laughing that she basically called him just a friend, like he has called Marinette thousands of times but here it hits at least slightly different. Because she basically degrades him to any hero for a timebeing, to someone who is lower than her.)
Hearing that he decides to talk with her. Finally. He wants to hear if she really meant that. He sees when whole group of heroes are making big pound it and then comes to them. She decides to talk with him 1on1. They try to talk, but it doesn't go in the right way. Then another attack happens.
So Chat proposes her to help so they can talk some more and work this out. But she hears more thing from her other heroes and suddenly lashes at him.
That's a breaking point for Adrien. He decides to renounce Plagg and this time he doesn't even give him a chance of speaking in that matter. (He is so hurt that he runs away. Just like in NY special but he tries to protect himself from more pain)
Tumblr media
Okey, I wanted also to talk about Black Cat miraculous here and my thought's about holders of it but it would get too long so I will just make another post about that.
Please remember it's just my opinion, you don't have to agree with that. If you want to discuss with me, feel free! As long as it will stay constructive and respectful to other person. :) Have a nice day/night folks!

After watching Glaciator 2.0, we ought to revisit Hack-San, Rocketear, and Wishmaker after getting more context from this episode, because I really wanna talk about Adrien and Chat Noir's characterizations as of late. Take a look at the scene from Hack-San as an example:
Tumblr media
While there have been instances, such as in Oblivio and Troublemaker, where Adrien occasionally displays Chat Noir's mischief and playfulness, you don't usually see Adrien act out or be petty about anything. I don't know about anyone else, but I don't recall Adrien ever "acting out" like this in his civilian form in previous episodes. For the most part, this is the first time Adrien has shown any kind of emotional outburst (or immaturity, I guess?) in his civilian form. Adrien is usually portrayed as being"perfect" because he has to uphold his father's brand. Most of Adrien's emotional range is expressed through Chat Noir because Chat Noir is Adrien's emotional outlet.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We don't typically see Adrien act like this unless he's Chat Noir. Because of this, I have always found it a bit challenging to see Adrien and Chat Noir as the same person. At first, I thought that the writers couldn't make up their minds with his characterization, but now, especially after seeing Wishmaker, I think this disconnect between Adrien and Chat Noir was an intentional writing choice.
It's so easy for the audience to see Adrien and Chat Noir as two separate characters because, in a way, they are. That's certainly how Adrien views himself; he's either this teenage heartthrob who's constantly on his best behaviour, or he's the goofy and mischievous Chat Noir. These two personality traits are seemingly at odds with each other, and yet Adrien somehow embodies them both. This contrast was made especially clear in the art room scene in Lies:
Tumblr media
"There. This is really you."
"Do you really think?"
"Yes. You're... perfect."
This scene honestly told us so much more about Adrien than I think most of us realize. A lot of people have analyzed this scene and said that Kagami is able to see Adrien for who he really is, but I don't think that's the case at all. Look at his reaction. If Adrien had a strong sense of self in the first place, then this interaction between him and Kagami wouldn't be like this at all. Adrien would be happy, or at the very least flattered, that someone actually understood him and wanted to get to know the real him. Yet, look at Adrien's face; he's not scared or put off, but he's definitely not happy nor relieved. He's unsure. He's confused. He doesn't connect with Kagami because he doesn't understand what Kagami means. Kagami only sees what she thinks is Adrien's true self, but even Adrien has no clue what that even is.
This season, Adrien is starting to push back against his father, as we saw in Mega Leech, and that line between Adrien and Chat Noir is slowly starting to blur. This "perfect" facade that Adrien has to perform all the time is starting to dissipate. His flaws are starting to show as he's being put in situations where he has to assert himself.
Now, before he can do all of that, Adrien is going to have to come to terms with that the fact that Ladybug isn't interested in Chat Noir, and that the idea of them being together is completely off the table.
Some people might look at this and say "well, yeah, it's about time. Adrien needs to learn about boundaries and stop projecting this fantasy onto Ladybug." That's true, yes, but a lot of people forget just how isolated Adrien is and just how desperate he is for some kind of deep emotional connection. Remember this scene in Glaciator?
Tumblr media
"Perhaps Ladybug will love me someday. I mean, like I love her. I have to believe. In the meantime, her friendship is the best gift of all."
Most of us overlooked this scene, but this was a crucial piece of characterization for Adrien, not to mention foreshadowing for Glaciator 2.0.
Of course, Adrien values Ladybug's friendship, but he always had this hope that she was going to fall for him eventually. Whenever horrible things went on in his life, he always turned to Laybug to make him feel better. Even after defeating the akuma in Lies, despite being on rocky terms with Kagami, he doesn't seem as bothered by it because Ladybug was still practically living in his head rent-free.
Tumblr media
This is a heavy contrast to the way Marinette felt about her breakup with Luka, which left her devasted.
In Adrien's case, he's not just clinging onto this romantic fantasy, he's become dependent on it for his emotional well-being, so much to the point where it clouds his better judgement. Now he's experiencing emotional whiplash after being faced with the fact that his fantasy won't ever become a reality. He can't depend on this fantasy anymore, because now he has to face all of the loneliness and lack of control he has in his life and realize that he's the only one that can change it.
This is the catalyst for Adrien's character development, and it's going to be intense.

In Kwamibuster, when Marinette takes every miraculous (except Tikki and Plagg, who have been sucked up), Master Fu warns her that it's too much power and could make her lose her mind. As Multimouse, at first she even gets a little faint and nearly falls. She has the strength of mind to get through it...but Gabriel clearly wouldn't. He's so unstable. And now he happens to have every miraculous except Tikki and Plagg.

Miraculous Tales Chapter 6 - PG16
Sometimes a little sweetness goes a long way to temper the vinegar within.
A tale of how Chloe’s many false starts in life were just the beginning to a real redemption of heart and hero.

Everyone keeps reminding me of the hints of Chat Noir becoming a villain/going against Ladybug throughout Season 4. How his anger is going to be relevant. How he’s always used as Hawkmoth akuma to ultimately beat Ladybug (Chat Noir = Chat Blanc, Adrien = Ephemeral). How the ambassadors have said that “heroes will turn into villains” and how much FORESHADOWING this show actually has.
Thomas said to watch Kuro Neko and Penalteam because they’re important to understanding the finales better.
Adrien is on the team against Marinette.
Now hear me out… 😂
What if those people on Adrien’s team somehow become villains in Season 5?
I know it sounds like a crack theory even I’m doubting it but hey it’s a theory so 😂😂😂😂

Actual question for y’all: is there any official confirmation that the leaked Catwalker concept art is for the villain of episode 23, Kuro Neko, whose name was changed? Or is that an assumption made by unofficial sources spreading the art around? And is there any confirmation that the character will appear in episode 23?
Tumblr media
My first thought upon seeing this was “Felix”. Like he took the miraculous from whoever had it last and used it himself. My first reaction to the name “Catwalker” was like “skinwalker” which reminded me of the evil impostor act Felix pulled in season three, but then I realized that that was pretty dumb since that’s probably not what “Catwalker” is a play on. Plus, if Felix kept going with the impostor thing, why not make himself look more like Chat Noir? I get changing the design so that young viewers aren’t confused but the characters are due to in-universe magic, but I don’t think that’s what’s happening here. What does support it being Felix is that he’s supposed to appear in three episodes this season, all three of which we’re yet to see, and when this art (censor-blurred) was leaked in Lindalee Rose’s video, most people jumped to Cat!Felix.
My second thought: whoever this is is trying way too hard to look like Adrien.
I think my favorite theory, true or not, is that this is literally just Adrien again. For some reason, he loses his miraculous. Gabriel gets it in Ephemeral, but maybe Ladybug gets it back without permanently learning Chat’s identity, and needs to choose a new cat in an emergency, so she chooses Adrien. Maybe she does it because of her crush, or maybe Luka’s trying to lowkey push her, but Adrien thinks he can’t reveal himself, so he redesigns his hero persona. This leads to him having his bangs cut a lot more like his civilian self, and his name, Catwalker, being a pun on his modeling job. He chooses surface level traits that Ladybug would know about the famous Adrien Agreste to hide that he’s actually Chat Noir. My doubt here is that the pose of that 2D concept art is different from both his Adrien concept art pose and his Chat one. The concept artists typically reuse bases for the same characters, and I don’t recognize this one, although I haven’t seen many characters’ art.
There’s a popular theory going around that this is the “new visitor from the future” Winny mentioned once, and that he’s one of the future Adrienette boys. That theory is pretty cute and interesting, but this character’s face looks exactly like Adrien/Felix’s, and the character designers are pretty good at not making kids clones of their parents. Plus, if Adrien doesn’t want anything to do with modeling when he grows up, what would make his kid be “Catwalker”? I’m pretty curious about the visitor, but I’m not sure this is it. I don’t think this is future Adrien either, because he looks young and, once again, is trying very hard to resemble surface-level present Adrien.
About Kuro Neko
I’m not giving up on the sentimonster idea because the Zag influencers have said time and time again that Kuro Neko is the villain of the episode, just like every other “name” episode title in the show. If Catwalker really did get changed to Kuro Neko, he’d have to be evil, excluding the future-son-coming-to-help-theory or him being Adrien, unless Gabriel gave him the miraculous he stole and is forcing him to follow his evil plan.
This, or Cat!Felix, would be really interesting imo, and I’d love to see some angst and big brain plays. But as many have asked, why the Japanese name? This guy seems to be white, and there’s no component of Catwalker’s design that references anything Japanese.
What do have Japanese names are Mayura’s sentis this season. Optigami and Hack-San were both pretty smart plans, all thanks to her. My headcanon is that she’s been taking Japanese on Duolingo while on bed rest lmao. What also ties into Japanese culture is this character who was spoiled in a Miraculous World video, which reminds many people of a Japanese lucky cat figurine.
Tumblr media
I’m pretty intrigued by the spoiled models all around, and I love reading everyone’s ideas. Lmk if anyone would like analysis posts about any of the other leaks, but right now I mostly want to know what information has been officially confirmed about them and what is just conjecture. I know that’s pretty hard to place when these spoilers were leaked illegally and Zag wants to cover them up, but if anyone knows, please let me know.
Edit in conclusion: to be clear, the theory I’m leaning towards the most as of right now, (being true based on what we know, not what I want to happen) is that Catwalker is Felix pretending to be Adrien using the cat miraculous. The concept art pose is what throws me off of the “Adrien using the cat miraculous but pretending not to be Chat” theory the most, as much as I like it, and the character having Adrien/Felix’s exact face plus the model pun name is what throws me off the “future son” theory.

Black Cat holders. Who are they really?
Tumblr media
I have seen so many people using argument "Black Cats are the protectors of Ladybugs" and I am honestly sick of it. Why? Because I don't agree with that.
It is said in the show that black cat is supposed to protect ladybug but it stands for destruction and it is said that turtle stands for protection. So - who exactly are black cats?
In sense of powers
Tumblr media
Black cat in miraculous stands for destruction and bad luck, while it is turtle thet stands for protection. Destruction isn't really something that protects, don't you think?
Destruction is a pretty offensive power. Ment to simply destroy everything. Cataclysm is confirmed that it destroys whatever the holders touch but when it comes to humans it brings them bad luck. [On twitter the last one was confirmed so maybe not actually but I'm taking whatever info i can gather] (Maybe to animals it's bad luck too and the black butterflies are just exception because they are used as literal tools for butterfly holders)
So why are black cats on the side of ladybugs?
Actually, in my opinion, it is pretty simple. They aren't just protectors or bodyguards - they are full blown warriors.
When we look at Chat Noir in the show he is constantly at the front. Yes, he is protecting ladybug but he is also the offense. If not mostly. He fights and that's his theme - battle. No one said that warriors/fighters cannot protect anyone/anything. No one said they cannot sacrifice themselves. Actually if we look at medival knights they were warriors who protected kingdoms, fought for their kings and sacrificed themselves for the country. But they weren't only the protectors - they were warriors.
A protector in the show is Nino. He has the turtle miraculous which actually stands for protection. He can create a shield that is able to keep everything outside (or inside like in the episode where meledictator could clone himself into tiny copies). That's a perfect example of protection. A shield.
Yes Chat Noir is a human shield for Ladybug but he is doing much much more than that.
He isn't also fully just a bodyguard. He can fight on his own.
Tumblr media
The powerlevel of main duo.
There is something i want to address badly. And that's the powerlevel of main duo.
Black Cat and Ladybug are Yang and Yin. Two sides of a whole, which means, their powerlevel should be equal. They are the balance of the universe as destruction cannot exist without creation and creation cannot exist without destruction.
(To clarify: Yes creation cannot exist without destruction, because if there was only creation then things would constantly got created more and more and more, in never ending cycle and that wouldn't be good. Destruction is necessary, so one thing can end and other get created)
So while Ladybug has the advantage of fixing stuff, Chat isn't any less capable of taking down akuma than the Bug.
He is powerful in his own way, yes he destroys and cannot fix it but he still can fight the villain down and destroy the akuma. The chaos would be taken-care of but not the mess afterward like what we see in NY special. Sentimonster left destruction around but it isn't something people cannot fix. And if Chat was actually in Paris, he could have taken down that sentimonster alone, by himself, cataclysm the akuma and leave the rest to the authorities.
So while he cannot fix the mess, he is still able to stop it from happening further. :)
Tumblr media
(Chat Blanc - Chat Noir cataclysms akuma. Couldn't find any gif about that tho. This is the closest I've got)
Plagg. His relationship with Adrien, the guardians and his past.
Tumblr media
Plagg is the best character in the show in my opinion. PLEASE GIVE US MORE OF HIM.
Akhem. Let's get back to the topic.
We know oh so very little about Plaggs previous holders, his past and everything. But what do we know?
He is the one who destroyed dinosaurs. (Probable one of his cataclysms made that whole meteor fall on earth)
He stands behind disapirance of Atlantis
Why leaning tower of pisa isn't straight
This is what is confirmed to us directly, but there are also few simple things that are mentioned in show that people usually don't think about too much.
First - Sandboy.
Plagg is used to lying, rebelling. He is that little devil on Adriens shoulder who tells him to do something bad. He lies to Adrien that he is going to sleep and puts a sock in his place. The after the battle we have this little dialogue:
Plagg: *flies to Adrien*
Plagg: Thanks for letting me do whatever I want, at least most of the time...
Adrien: Sure! I know how it is to have your freedom restricted. You don't have to pretend to be a sock!
Plagg: *gets emotional and hugs him*
Plagg: You're the best Cat Noir I've ever had, Adrien!
What does that give us?
Plagg probably was also restricted with former holders if not with the guardians too. (And I'm pretty than sure that guardians did restrict him) He adores Adrien because the boy is giving him freedom. Maybe he had ruthless holders before that didn't care about him and his opinion much. Maybe he had some that considered his opinion but still restricted him because they feared he could bring another destruction like with what happened to dinosaurs?
It is possible. He was so happy when Adrien told him this sentence. What has he gone through, I still wonder.
Tumblr media
The relationship between Plagg and Adrien is something special. Plagg got attached to him, and a lot. He pretends like he doesn't care and maybe in the beginning he didn't. Not only that, but Plagg also develops. Remember how he barely destroyed anything while saving Adrien during Hero's Day?
Plagg probably grew fond of Adrien. The blond boy is giving him everything, freedom, cheese and actual respect. Adrien never forced Plagg into anything. He always lokked for him and at least mention that there is trouble in Paris. So plagg knew he will be sucked into ring at short while. Adrien always gives him a say in things (aside when he gave up his miraculous in NY special and Kuro Neko but then Adrien was so warped in his mind and hurt that he didn't thought clearly). Hell! He even gets his whole bag full of cheese so Plagg won't be bored during his photoshoot/adshoot! LIKE WHO DOES THAT?! (I'm talking about Mr. Pigeon 72)
Adrien never got a kwagatama from Plagg. There could be two reasons for that:
Plagg was never fond enough of his orevious holders to take their hair and do something like that, or even call them friends of some sort
Plagg wasn't this close with Adrien yet
And my guess is: both of the above.
Kwagatama is a symbol of friendship between a kwami and holder. If Plagg was restricted by previous holders and not necessarily treated right - why would he make something like kwagatama at all?
But I'm talking how Plagg was possibly treated badly and i still didn't tell why i think so. Why? I'm just a chaotic shit that can't take track of how I'm explaining things so lets get to that for a bit.
Guardians in relation to Plagg and Black Cats
In the show we can see how Plagg is seen as for guardians and how Black Cats are seen and treated.
Why am I generalising this? Because I honestly don't thing people have ever stopped of fearing things that are more powerful than them or unknown to them.
Fearing?
Yes - fearing.
In Style Queen we see how Fu reacts to Plagg wanting to help Mari. Fu panicks. Says how dangerous he is without a holder.
Then we have Chat Noir being left out of everything by Fu and now in s4 by Marinette. Why am I connecting this?
Black Cats are destruction, Fu knows that and he knows what that power is capable of. He fears it so he wants Chat to know as little as possible so he won't use it against them.
Marinette has a trauma from Chat Blanc. Chat destroyed whole world by simoly knowing her identity. She still believes it's that what brought the world to an end. So she keeps Chat Noir in the dark. She fears that future, she fears him deep down inside her.
Tumblr media
Su-Han did say that they are trained to fight miraculous holders who went rouge - Black Cats could have gone rouge several times, maybe? They are bad luck after all and we see how much of bad luck had Adrien by being simply born into Agreste family!
And there is that popular belief that destruction is a bad thing. It is very often associated with villains. So I wouldn't be surprised if some of the black cats were villains in the past.
Also let's not forget how insisting was Su-Han during Ephemeral to know Chat Noirs identity. So I wouldn't be surprised if actually guardians were afraid of Black Cats and Plagg.
Tumblr media
To conclude:
Chat Noir is not just a protector. He is a warrior. Plagg didn't had that colourful of eternal life and guardians of miraculous are actually afraid of destruction welders. Marinette is no exception here unfortunately thanks to Bunnyx.
I really hope that at least some people will stop comparing Adrien to just a bodyguard because he is so much more. But thats all i have to say today.
What are your thoughts about this topic? I love reading what people have to say and I love discussing things I'm interested about.
Also i need to thank you guys for around 300 notes under my Chat Noir post! That's the first time I had a post blown so much that had more than 5 notes lmao! Thank you so much for that alone! <3

Just one of the many possible ways this moment could play out!
Also, now I understand why there were so many umbrella scenes this season...
