A Defense of SX3 Azula

Intro

So I've seen this typing for a loooong time already and honestly I've been coming around to it allot recently. And see if Azula is either a SOC3 or an SX3.

Why SOC3 (and why not)

While Azula portrays many of the E3 traits I believe that this typing is usually done by only looking at E3 traits not SOC3 traits. The social 3 believes that there is a place for them to belong. The LOOK (they can have or look for) status. How does this apply to Azula??? well it kinda does tbh. Azula is interested in the social opinion of others and is heavily interested in the push of the fire nation upon others. However wouldn't most of these things come with the princess territory? but is status Azura's true desire?

Why SX3 (and why not)

If I were to pinpoint Azusa's core desire in the series it would be parental validation but through the means of what? well in Azusa's case I think SX3 suits her better than SOC3. The SX3 looks to fill a slot in someone's life. In Azura's case she wants to fill the slot of Ozai's right hand girl. Unlike the SX2 the SX3 NEVER relinquishes their own desire to please the other. Which is why she adopts traits that her father has. His wishes are hers and crave for status seems almost complexity secondary to her desire to please her father.

Distinguishing SX3 vs SO3

For example to distinguish a E3 SX/SO over a E3 SO/SX let's look at Azula (3w4 SX/SO) vs Maergery Tyrell (3w2 SO/SX)

SX3 As mentioned above the SX3 looks to fill in a slot in someones life in which they can find their own purpose of being through adopting the object of desire's desire. They have their own needs and look to further others ambitions rather than the self. Healthy SX3 can become good mentors looking to help other rise of the top. In the case of Azula through furthering her fathers needs. SOC3 The SOC3 is purely about self marketing the SOC3 cares to be best at something and prove themselves to the grand. They dont further others ambitions other than their own. Healthy SOC3 take on a leader role to bring others up to part. In the case for Margery Tyrell through furthering her own needs to be queen.

Conclusion

I think ive come completely around to this typing I usually thought that 3w4 so/sp was the better typing however ive come around to SX3 as the more accurate one. However tell me your thoughts in case i got anything wrong.

If stannis was ordered to marry a tyrell like one of maces sisters instead of seylse would that have made the Tyrell’s back stannis in the war or would they still go with the maergery and renly plot?

You must really not like Stannis. Anyway, a lot depends on whether or not Stannis and Mina/Janna have issue. If they have a son I could see the Tyrells supporting him until the Lannisters are dealt with and then whacking him so as to establish a regency. Naturally, said son would also be betrothed to Margaery in this scenario (because Mace would still want HIS blood on the throne). If Stannis and Mina/Janna have only a daughter the way Stannis does with Selyse in OTL then I could see the Tyrells throwing their lot in with Renly while doing their damnedest to either sideline or integrate said daughter into their overall scheme. Naturally, if Stannis and Mia/Janna have no children, the Tyrells aren't going to support him. That said, regardless of which of the three scenarios you go with, Stannis x Mia/Janna would make for one awful marriage on a personal level.

Do you think Olenna had Joffery poisoned to protect Maergery from being in an abusive relationship or to position the Tyrells even closer to the iron throne? I always thought it was the latter but alot of people seem to think it's the former. (Or is it both)

I think mostly the former, with a side of the fact that Joffrey would’ve been a horrible king who could have turned on all of them given time, not just Margaery. Marrying into the royal family is the best House Tyrell can really hope for though, I don’t think they can get any closer than what Margaery managed: I believe they would’ve been quite happy playing second fiddle to Tommen’s reign, only with Aegon on the scene now I can see them switching allegiances in TWOW.

Missing you, House Tyrell

It’s such a shame House Tyrell died out before the end of the War of the Queens. I miss Olenna, Mace the Ace, even Loras a little bit and I most definitely miss Maergery.

Imagine how things would have turned out if somehow Maergery survived and went over to the Targaryen alliance. Her and Olenna could have lead House Tyrell full-heartedly into the final Targaryen-Stark league like the good stewards they are. Like they were to the Gardeners... And the Lannisters... It would have made some quality drama, their backroom maneuvering, their clandestine warfare in which they wielded a kit of tools like charm, influence, flirtation, gossip, seduction and physical force if need be. Just imagine.

Maergery would have definitely made a pass at Jon Snow. King in the North, most powerful de-facto lord paramount, sovereign, north of the Trident? The most handsome, most eligible bachelor? Sign House Tyrell up. Imagine the hilarious triangle as Jon and Daenerys awkwardly grow closer to each other while Maergery goes all in on Jon. Imagine beautiful, seductive, charming, intelligent Maergery Tyrell trying to melt the icy walls of northern honor built of brooding, silence, long gazes cast into the horizon and dramatic one liners of the coming winter, honor and duty. Imagine Jon struggling to conceal the fact that he’s checking out both of them. Daenerys occasionally snapping and Maergery gracefully dancing out of the flames of her wrath. Compared to the good-hearted but pragmatic, captivating, seductive Maergery, both of these beautiful strong-headed silly heroes are rigid, naive idealists and it would have made for some prime drama and interesting dynamics within the Targaryen-Stark inner circle.

Everybody seems to be making a big deal of Sansa’s hair - that we should be worried she’s morphing into Cersei because it’s the way she’s worn it in the past. A plausible theory, I have another:

What if Sansa has just become the sum of her experiences? In other words, her clothes, and her appearance are outward expressions of all of the meaningful things that have happened to her. She wears a cloak like her father’s, which she sewed the way her mother taught her, she sometimes wears her hair like Cersei or Maergery, or parted like the Northern women. Her cloak has a mini dagger on the chain (possibly like Arya's "Needle"), and a big circle on it, like the disguise she made when she travelled to the Vale with Littlefinger.

Yes, Sansa has learned a lot from Cersei (which may or may not be to her detriment). But she’s also learned from Ramsay. And Joffrey. AND Littlefinger, Tyrion, Shae, Maergery, Brienne, Theon, her father, mother, brothers, and sister, etc.

Sansa might have been one of the more malleable characters in the beginning, adopting the look and traits of the people whom she admired at the time, but her character has also grown more than most. I believe she’s become her own unique person, with influences of others incorporated here and there. We’re all a product of our experiences! I don’t think we should attribute her growth to just one person when so SO much has happened to her!
