How will you get home then?” Lily shrugged, “Wait for it to start working again I suppose.” “And leave me all alone with your mother and Petunia over the holidays? Absolutely not,” Mr. Evans reached into his messy glove compartment and pulled out a passport, Lily’s passport, to be exact. “Dad,” Lily laughed, rolling her eyes affectionately. “Just for emergencies. I know you’re perfectly capable of magicking your way back, but something to reassure your old dad.” “Thanks,” Lily smiled and took the passport, tucking it into her rucksack, “And thanks for, you know, driving me to London. I could have just taken the train.”

my absolute favourite thing about the kirk and spock dynamic is that the whole time you’re watching the show spock is gaslighting you into thinking that kirk is this loose canon and spock is paragon of logic keeping his captain on the straight and narrow when its very clearly the other way round. aside from being turned on by everyone and fighting like an old-timey boxer…. kirk is just like.. quite a logical, stable guy. like yeah he rules with his emotions but he’s rarely reckless or erratic, even in situations of immense pressure he’s always calm and measured. sure kirk is unhinged and insane, but we knew that right off the bat. spock on the other hand tries to hide how insanely balls to the walls crazy he is by standing next to jim and hiding all his derangement with logic. i think the reason bones beefs with spock so much because he is the only one who has noticed that spock is an absolutely unhinged individual. (jim is too busy doodling <3 mr jim spock <3 all over his briefings to notice)

Dear Mr. Potter, We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted into the Cartography Program at The Salem Witches Institute… The owl had arrived earlier that day, a large horned owl that had a mean look about him. His own owl, Percy, had hidden for nearly a whole hour after the other bird had departed. His mum had wanted him to open it straight away, but James found he couldn’t bring himself to even pull the seal off the envelope, much less read its contents, and in front of his mum? What if he hadn’t gotten in? What if he had to explain to his mum and dad that, yes he’d had ample amount of time to send off other applications and had done very well on his N.E.W.Ts, but somehow hadn’t even applied to one other programme or apprenticeship.
