(one shot) the cutest fic i have ever read. i had to reread it a couple times bc i couldn’t get over how cute and unique this story is. the female lead is a greenhouse witch and loki is his usual, flirty, adorable self. in love.

It was con season. you lived for this. It was your favorite time of the year, listening to fans and getting to know them. It was amazing.
You, Misha, and Ruth were walking around backstage you had become so engrossed in a story you were telling when you smacked, banged into a man in front of you. As you looked up to apologise, Tom Hiddleston stood before you.
“Fuck, I’m so sorry I was too busy talking and I wasn’t paying attention, I’m so sorry” you blabbered.
Tom smiled at you and you swore you died.
“No harm done Y/n, though I’ll have to hear that story sometime, sounds intriguing,” he laughed walking away.
You stood for a minute squeezing Misha's arm.
“Earth to y/n Squeezing a bit hard there,” he smiled at you.
“Did that just happen, Misha? Please tell me that just happened,” you squeaked.
Misha looked at Ruth and smirked “Y/n is in love with Tom Hiddleston, she’s gonna marry him someday and have his babies.”
“You know it,” you punched Misha in the arm. “I need to tell Jared” you screamed and ran off.
As you came backstage to where your panel was going to be held, you screamed Jared’s name.
“What happened?” Jared looked concerned.
When you saw Jensen beside him you hesitated and whispered ”You know what it’s fine, just bumped into someone and wanted to tell you,” you said not sure if he was ready for that part of your life.
“Hey,” Jensen grabbed your arm to stop you from walking away “Please tell us. If you can’t tell your best friends who you just stalked then who can you tell.” He laughed, but you caught the pleading under it.
You smiled. This was the Jensen you missed. And you knew he was offering you an olive branch, so you bit the bullet and you being you in your most dramatic voice ever you told them how you just bumped into the Tom Hiddleston and how he was sex on legs, and you would let that man do unspeakable things to you.
The boys laughed at how star-struck you were. They knew how much you loved Marvel. And Loki was your favorite character.
“Oh my god, I need to tell Mark” you squealed Squeezing Jensen's arms and hugging him, and then you ran off.
Jensen couldn’t help but smile after that squeeze.
“She never gives up on you man, she loves you " Jared smiled “You never lost her she just wanted to give you your space.”
Jensen sighed “I know” and then he smiled at Jared “I have an idea!”
You had all been seated for your panel, this time you took your seat between the boys. the original seat you had in the beginning, it felt great to be here, it was where you all started off. Jared, you, and Jensen. and you beamed as you sat between them, it was like everything was getting back to normal.
Everyone was answering questions from the audience and you felt yourself getting overwhelmed. You hated the fact you weren’t confident and that you always questioned yourself when talking to fans. Did they really like you or did they just feel sorry for you as you were stuck between these two strong handsome characters?
You pulled on a bit of string you found in your pocket. Trying to not show your emotions. But you had blocked out all the noise. At one point you looked at your hand while you were tying the string and had zoned out. Then you heard “My question is for Y/n” and then you heard the screams and felt Jensen squeeze your arm.
Your head shot up and you saw Tom Hiddleston standing at the microphone.
You were speechless for a few seconds and then you held your finger out smiled and mouthed "One second, please."
You took out your wallet and took out 50 dollars and walked over to Rob and slammed it down in front of him. He and Richard screamed in laughter as did the rest of the cast.
Jensen saw Tom look confused. “Sorry man, but Y/n has a swear jar on set, and every time she curses she has to put 5 dollars into the jar. So I’m guessing she has a lot to say.” He laughed.
As you looked at Jensen you asked “Did you set this up?”
And he just shrugged smiling.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck," you whispered but your mic picked up everything. You breathed in and your demeanor changed. you sat up straight and looked at Tom and took a breath. “Of course, what’s your name sir," you smiled hoping he’d play the game. God please play the game you willed.
“I’m Tom” He played the game back smirking.
“Nice to meet you Tom, and are you enjoying comic com?” you asked.
“Very much so, ” he smiled.
“And are you here by yourself or did you bring some friends?” You asked.
“I came with friends," Tom pointed to the back of the room.
You sat in silence for a moment looking at the Marvel cast in front of you and begged yourself to be cool.
“Well hello, Tom’s friends are you all having a good time?"
And they all nodded and laughed.
So what's your question, Tom?” You nodded to him.
“So obviously Y/c/n is a good soul, she saves people on a daily basis, but do you think if she ever met Loki could he make her kneel?"
“Oh absolutely," you grinned.
“What?” Jensen asked "Y/n I am appalled" he mocked hurt that you answered that so quickly.
“I mean have you seen the guy in chains? 100 percent sure she would kneel, Right?" you asked the audience and they laughed and agreed with you.
When the panel ended you were on such a high. When you were all off the stage you rushed Jensen and hugged him tightly.
“Best day of my life," you smiled “Thank you but you owe me now,”
“That’s not good,” he laughed “What do you have in mind?”
As you explained your plan Jensen thought it was hilarious. “Let’s get this done," he kissed your head and you closed your eyes smiling hoping your best friend was coming back to you.
Meanwhile, at the Marvel panel, it was the now-the-Q&A part.
You approached the mic nervously and said "My question is for Tom."
The crowd reputed and you smirked up at him.
He smiled down at you and you swear your legs near give way. You looked and Jensen nervously and he nodded in reassurance.
“What's your name” Tom copied you from before.
"Y/n " you answered into the mic.
“And are you enjoying comic con?” Again shadowing your questions from before.
“Very much so,” you smiled back.
"And are you here with anyone?” Again mimicking you from before.
“Just a few friends” you motioned to where the supernatural cast stood.
The crowd screamed in delight.
“And are you dressed in anyone in particular?” He questioned.
“Oh yes. I’m dressed as a hunter from supernatural,” you replied “Plaid shirts are a must on the show." You spread your arms twirling to show off your own shirt.
“A hunter?” Tom questioned “And what exactly do you hunt?”
“Oh you know, ghosts werewolves angels, demons even a god now and then,” You smirked at him tweaking your eyebrow.
“No human could kill a god," Tom stated in his Loki voice.
“Ah well, you haven’t met Y/c/n” you casually said trying to keep your cool.
“So what's your question?” Tom asked.
“Who do you think would win a fight between Loki and Y/n"
" Loki definitely, yes” Tom smiled confidently.
“And why is that?” you tilted your head
“Well, he is far more superior than mere mortals, and plus I hear he looks great in chains,” he laughed.
After you asked your question and walked to the back, you all stood watching the end of the panel. One of the workers approached saying the Marvel cast would love you to come up on stage and do some photos, would that be okay?
“Of course,“ you all agreed
So the Marvel and supernatural cast stood together on stage taking various photos for the guests and with the guests.
You were with Tom. You thought it was because people were enjoying the interaction with you two.
After all the photos and questions Tom approached you and hugged you. " You know I think the god and the hunter should go for dinner.” he smiled.
Your breath caught in your throat for a few seconds and you tried to think of the perfect response.
“I think so too, I mean you what they say about holding your enemies close.” you smiled knowingly.
“Do you mean to keep your enemies closer? " He raised an eyebrow
“I know what I said.' you laughed
You and Tom had exchanged numbers and began dating shortly ever.

Regards, Loki - Chapter 10
Master List
She woke up late the next day sneezing. Thankfully there was cold medicine in her cabinet, and ready to heat soup in the fridge. Rather than going back to bed, she curled up on the couch and started her favorite movie.
Loki: I just wanted to check in and see how it went? You don’t have to say if you don’t want to.
Sigyn: It went as well as it could go, I suppose. My friend’s brother loaned her his car, and she went with me. We had a good chat, and I talked to mum for a bit before it started raining.
Loki: I’m glad she went with you.
Sigyn: Me, too. I don’t think I could have done that by myself.
Loki: It’s a very hard thing to do.
Sigyn: My friend told me that she and mum kept in contact before she passed, trying to help figure out a plan to get me out.
Loki: Out?
She took a few slow, steady breaths before responding.
Sigyn: I was in an awful relationship. He was kind and supportive when we first met, but he became so horrible, yelling and telling me I wasn’t good enough, that I was lucky to have him, controlling me, telling me what I could do.
Loki: I ought to find that hideous man and teach him a lesson or two.
Sigyn: I appreciate the sentiment. I felt trapped, and I didn’t have the money to get my own place. I didn’t want to ask Cora for help because she had her own things going on, but when mum passed, she left me a little money. Cora helped me get away when he was gone one weekend, and I haven’t looked back.
Loki: I’m so glad to hear that, darling. I really am. If he ever does show his face, please tell me?
Sigyn: It’s been 2 years since then. Thankfully, I haven’t seen him.
Loki: That’s good, but you must promise to tell me should that change.
Sigyn: I promise.
Loki: Thank you, dear. You are too kind of a person to have to deal with someone as wretched as him.
Sigyn: I know I did the right thing. I just wish I had the strength to do it sooner.
Loki: It’s ok. The fact is that you found the courage to do what you needed. That’s all that matters.
Louisa knew he was right. It wasn’t fair to beat herself up about it. The past can’t be changed.
Loki: On a happier note, how are you doing today? Any plans?
She was glad for the change of topic.
Sigyn: I woke up sick from getting rain soaked yesterday. So I’ve taken meds and am eating hot soup while watching my favorite movie.
Loki: I’m so sorry you’re sick. I do hope you feel better soon. What movie are you watching?
Sigyn: Labyrinth.
Loki: I don’t believe I’ve seen that one.
Sigyn: It’s so good! It stars David Bowie as the goblin king, and Jennifer Connelly’s character has to go through his labyrinth maze to save her baby brother.
Loki: David Bowie? I may have to look into it.
Sigyn: You should. Speaking of which, how is your day? Any weekend plans? Please tell me you’re not working.
Loki: Ok. I won’t tell you.
Sigyn: Loki! You really need to learn the meaning of having a relaxing weekend.
Loki: I will take some time later today, but I’m trying to figure out this mystery at the office.
Sigyn: The one about the mismatched finances?
Loki: That’s the one.
Sigyn: You’ll figure it out. Maybe you could bring in someone you trust to help you work on it?
Loki: That’s just it. I’m wondering if someone in the company is embezzling which means I can’t trust anyone.
Sigyn: That’s horrible! I don’t understand why someone would think it’s ok to do something like that.
Loki: Nor I.
Sigyn: Surely there’s 1 person you can trust?
Loki: I’m not sure, but I’ll think about it. Nevermind about that. You work on feeling better.
Sigyn: If there’s anything I can do to help, please tell me? I know it would be breaking confidentiality, but you shouldn’t have to deal with this on your own.
Loki: I appreciate the offer, but I’d prefer if you focused on getting better.
They continued to text off and on throughout the day. Louisa was glad to have the company without anyone actually being there.
When she woke up the next morning, she didn’t feel much better but couldn’t afford to take time off of work. Well, technically she did, but her boss was such an asshole that it wasn’t worth taking the day off with the amount of shit he’d give her the next day.
It was still raining. So rather than walking or taking the train, she treated herself to a cab. Walking into the office, it was apparent to everyone that she was sick between her red nose and the sneezing.
“Are you trying to get everyone sick?” Of course. She comes in anyways, and her boss is still an ass. “No, sir, but I know there’s a lot of work to be done.”
“At the expense of infecting me and everyone else? I think not. Go home and don’t come back until you’re ready to not have everyone else suffer the same fate.”
There was no winning with him. Rather than argue, she grabbed her bag and took a cab back home, spending the day on the couch with medicine and ordering pho for lunch.
Loki: How are you feeling today? Better, I hope?
Sigyn: I wish. I went in to work because my boss gives me so much shit when I’m out sick only for him to still give me shit for coming in. Told me to come back when I wouldn't inflict this on him and everyone else.
Loki: While he’s right, that could have been handled much better. You do need to take a day or two to take care of yourself.
Sigyn: And he’ll give me more shit when I go back.
Loki: Best to put it off an additional day and wait to go back until at least Wednesday.
Sigyn: You’re right.
Loki: Yes, I am. I’m sorry you have to deal with another wretched man.
Sigyn: It’s ok. It could be worse.
Loki: But it could be better. Have you thought of looking for a new job?
Sigyn: My friend, let's call her Frigga, said something similar. My anxiety just can’t handle the whole looking for a new job process with revising my CV and then the interviewing.
Loki: If you decide to look for a new position, let me know. I can give you some interview prep questions to help you prepare.
Sigyn: I really appreciate that.
Loki: Of course.
Using Loki’s suggestion, she waited until Wednesday to go back to the office, even though she was feeling a bit better on Tuesday. As predicted, Mr. Price gave her so much shit. By the time Friday night came around, she was frazzled. Cora knew she needed to get out of her head and have some fun. So she showed up at her door and practically dragged her out to the club for some dancing. Louisa didn’t want to go but decided to seize the first opportunity she got to leave.

ok listen this has been on my mind for DAYS now so i’m going to shout it into the void and we’ll see what happens.
i have a note on my phone that says “exclude tags ao3” where i have written down every single tag i don’t want to see when i scroll through my favorite ship tags. this means that i don’t see what i deem gross on my feed, because every time i go scrollin’ i make the choice to curate my online experience.
the ONLY time i have ever reported a work on ao3, it was because there was a fic rated teen with tags that were clearly explicit. i didn’t want to read it, i didn’t want to leave a comment on content i wasn’t going to read, so i reported it for the sole purpose of the creator getting a little nudge so they could rate it appropriately.
the amount of posts i see about content being reported because it contains a squick of someone’s is BAFFLING to me. it’s insane that people feel the need to censor content that presumably wasn’t meant for you anyway. you cannot go online expecting the world of fandom bending over backwards to make sure that you’re safe, because guess what! the internet isn’t an inherently safe space! in order for it to be a safe space, you need to curate your own online experience, and if you’re not mature enough to do that, you should not be online. if you cannot see a piece of fiction or art or video edit without feeling squicked, grossed out, angry, or even triggered, then you have to ensure that you do not see it again. not reporting content that is “problematic” or inappropriate or offensive.
and on that note, fiction is allowed to be problematic. it’s fiction. it is not real. i have read fics containing infidelity, age gaps, murder, drug abuse, what have you, and it does not reflect on me as a person, or what i do during my time offline. i have written violent, disgusting fics; fics containing drug abuse, toxic, abusive relationships, but never in my life would i want to embody or experience what i write. i don’t want to bang a married, muscular silver fox as someone who’s much younger, but reading it? why the fuck not, it’s not about me.
i absolutely do not want to read underage stuff, or incest, or mpreg. it’s stuff that i personally think is disgusting and, to some degree, problematic (incest and underage, to be precise, i find very problematic—the rest is just personal preference). in order to avoid it, i filter those tags out. what one person thinks or feels about one certain topic should not affect other people wanting to read/write it.
the lack of nuance i see in younger people when it comes to fandom and content is frankly insane. they seem to draw such a large parallel between the fictional world and the real world, to the point where they’re incapable of seeing and understanding that the two are not one and the same. you can like a character who killed a bunch of people, write fics about it and explore who they are and why they are the way they are, without agreeing with their actions, beliefs, and values. (coincidentally, the same people who despise problematic content like graphic violence or non-con, will also take the murder character and make it into an uwu smol soft boy who just suffered trauma so its ok he’s doing this loki regulus barty crouch jr need i continue but we don’t have to unpack all of that right now)
sometimes it’s fun to be a problematic little rascal and that’s okay, because the outlet isn’t real. the fic isn’t real. it doesn’t reflect on any personal feelings, desires, beliefs, etc etc etc. the art isn’t real. if it feels too real to you, then????? don’t consume it??????? you can’t watch hannibal and then write to the show producers telling them that they’re horrible people because the show about cannibalism and murder contains just that, when you could’ve just stopped watching hannibal and done something else instead.

Mr. Jonathan Pine. And here’s why:
When given a challenge, you’re not afraid to take it head-on. You’re a VERY determined person who pushes yourself above and beyond no matter the circumstance. You’re all around heartfelt, you’re caring, and if danger is placed in front of you and contradicts the safety of your loved ones, you’ll do anything to ensure they’re kept safe. You and Jonathan are alike in so many ways. Although you are a bubbly ray of joyful sunshine, you can be lethal if pushed. I just know it.
You don’t take “no” for an answer if someone tells you to get out of there, that you can’t handle it. You take it with a smile and you’re ready to finish what you started. Not only that, but you’re essentially a walking literature book, available to harmonize with those around you with excellence in nature of history, and you have a teeth-gritting sense of empowerment that can rattle those around you… just like Jonathan. Not to mention, you’re the hottest thing ever 😉. I love you, beautiful!!!

I am so very bad at actually doing these things, but I was tagged by the lovely and talented @gavotteangel, so I finally got off my butt and went to town.
Fanfic Writer 20 Questions!
1. how many works do you have on ao3? A measly 31. But in my defense, I’m ancient, so I have posted at least twice as many on LiveJournal back in the day.
2. what’s your total ao3 word count? 162,236
3. how many fandoms have you written for and what are they? Six are represented on AO3, including a mix of various RPF fandoms, Hannibal, Law and Order: SVU, A Series of Unfortunate Events, and recently Loki. But back in my teenage years I wrote fic in the Lord of the Rings fandom, Harry Potter, and as I got older even more diverse RPF, mostly centered around US political media and, uh... Top Gear. Look, I have a past, okay, leave me alone.
4. what are your top five fics by kudos?

5. do you respond to comments? why or why not? Almost always. If you took the time to comment, I will take the time to say thank you. Especially when I get the really juicy comments, like those that quote favourite lines and stuff. I love those comments, they’re so helpful!
6. what’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending? I’m really bad at following through on angst, I wrap that shit up with a vaguely happy ending. That said, Control You is pretty bad. It’s also locked, because I lock RPF religiously. kill them; kill them with fire is technically still a WIP, so it doesn’t count, although it’s some of the angstiest fic I’ve written.
7. do you write crossovers? Not so much these days, but I used to
8. have you ever received hate on a fic? Oh yes, before the US Pundit fandom hid all the RPF away in secret, thoroughly locked LJ communities, there were some pretty ugly instances of hate going around.
9. do you write smut? if so, what kind? Ahahaha, yes, I do. 23 of those 31 fics are rated E. And it was the same back on LJ.
10. have you ever had a fic stolen? Not as far as I know.
11. have you ever had a fic translated? I’ve received requests for a couple of fics to be translated into Russian. I gave my permission, but I have no idea if they followed through with it.
12. have you ever co-written a fic before? Yes. Way back when I was 18 I had a 42 year old BFF from California who shared my brand of absurd humour and we co-wrote a sprawling 20K+ Pundit RPF comedy zombie AU, where we took turns writing the chapters as we went along, playing off what the other person had written in the previous chapter. I was a great experience, like the fic equivalent of improv comedy groups. An entire story based on ‘yes, and...’ as a concept.
13. what’s your all-time favorite ship? I can’t possibly answer that question, I’m a bit of a whore in this respect. I mix and match. Although judging from my AO3 account it’s ChillyWilly and Barisi, and it’s true that I love those ships.
14. what’s a wip that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will? kill them; kill them with fire probably. It’s a ASOUE Zombie AU with stand-alone chapters focusing on different characters in different locations, but in a vaguely chronological order. Can you tell that I adore zombie AUs? Anyway, I was very proud of this one, because this particular zombie apocalypse is totally “realistic” in-universe. It takes an existing killer-fungus danger and replaces ‘certain death’ being the result of infection with ‘zombies’ being the result. So yes, it’s The Last of Us-style “zombies”. I actually stole the terminology from there as well, because I couldn’t be bothered with creating too much lore. I never care about the actual zombie horror anyway, I care about the human reaction to a deadly crisis.
15. what are your writing strengths? A writer I admired very much in ye olden days once told me that I was good at blending genres and moods organically, in those day it was combinations of action, humour, and smut. She then asked me, me, for advice on a fic. I still think about that every single time I feel down.
16. what are your writing weaknesses? Definitely a tendency for overly detailed, flowery, self-indulgently elaborate prose. I spent years forcing myself to use a plain ‘said’ more often, because God knows I struggled with the concept from the beginning. And commas. So many commas. I often joke that Ernest Hemingway would fucking deck me if he was alive and reading my stuff. Oscar Wilde would you rather discuss writing with? Case closed.
17. what are your thoughts on writing dialogue in another language? I think it’s fine in controlled doses, especially if you consult native speakers to confirm that google translate isn’t about to make you look really silly to native speakers of the language in question.
18. what was the first fandom you ever wrote for? Lord of the Rings, I think? At least in English. I was 14 when the first film came out, so it was around then. It was really bad. English is my second language, and my grammar... left something to be desired. Okay, technically I wrote fic for The Hobbit first, because our teacher was pretty cool when it came to assigning various writing challenges, and in this case he made us all write fanfic that should be a twist on the pretty anticlimactic (according to him) ending of the book. I proceeded to literally kill off half the dwarves in a gruesome Smaug-fight. Very indiscriminately, I might add. Completely random. Just piling up dead, scorched dwarves for shits and giggles.
19. what’s your favorite fic you’ve ever written? Okay, bear with me here, but I’m just really proud of Young Police Cadet Bottoms for Busty Blonde. Probably the smuttiest smut I’ve ever written. I enjoyed every second of the writing process, I had a wonderful time, and it lives up to its title in terms of balls to the wall PWP insanity. A Guide to Recognizing Your Ghosts and Unfortunate Living Arrangements are also up there, because I’m still a Chilton fangirl at heart.

Unconventional writer ask game: my answers
Thanks to @knuckleslove for this fun game. Thank you @queen-of-meows @dewdropreader @starport-seven-five and @lgwilt for the tag! I feel so honored to be thought of by amazing authors such as yourselves! Here are my answers. (and I hope you all tag me in your answers so I can read about your writing process)
How long have you been writing fanfiction?
Honestly as long as I can remember I’ve been writing drabbles and outlines. But last year was the first time I ever completed and published anything.
Do you have a favorite word? (One that you love. Doesn’t necessarily have to be one you use all the time.)
Hm… I know my favorite themes are those surrounding love and hope.
Share a favorite run-on sentence that you’ve written.
Lol idk about a favorite. Run-on sentences are my baseline though. Here's one from Between the Golden Arches. I definitely cheat grammatically by adding in periods when technically I shouldn't.
Loki had seen and been with many men in his lifetime. Men in various states of dress, in various positions. But for reasons beyond his immortal comprehension, this man, in his ill-fitting suit, boring blue dress shirt, and only slightly above mediocre forearms, was going to be the death of him.
Share a bit of a scene that you’ve written that still gives you FEELS.
As much as I want Lokius to be canon, I think if I were to choose any scene from one of my fics to be in Season 2 it would be the scene where Loki meets Sylvie’s younger self, Princess Loki who has no fear transforming into her Jotun form.
Loki did a lot of changing and growing in the Loki series but an area still left unexplored is his deeply internalized hatred of his Jotun heritage. I’d like to see that addressed next season.
Passage at the end of this post (I couldn't cut it down- I love it too much). This scene is from the end of Rising From the Ashes.
What is your favorite kind of character interaction to write?
I really love writing inside jokes or light banter between characters. I also really love when you can see one character taking on traits or habits of another character, showing their impact on one another.
Do you have a hyper-specific genre?/ Any personal or frequently used tags?
"Slow Burn" specifically "slowest of burns because lots of individual character growth needed" and "Idiots in Love"
Share a joke or funny moment that you’ve written that still makes you laugh.
I do enjoy how I wrote Thor and Sylvie meeting in Here.
“Lady Loki-”
“It’s Sylvie,” Sylvie corrected.
“Oh, of course, Lady Sylvie.”
“No. It’s Sylvie. Just Sylvie.”
“My apologies.” Thor grabbed Sylvie by the shoulders and looked deep into her eyes. “Sylvie the Just, it is indeed a great honor to meet you.”
Best editing tip?
Read your own stuff as a reader. Once I get my fics to a place where I’m not actively cringing I like to put the editing pen away and read as a reader. Purely reading allows me to notice frequently used words, pacing issues, repeated sentence structure, etc. I don't notice those things if I'm solely focused on editing individual sentences.
What drives you to write?
My favorite stories are the ones where I learn (or am reminded of) something about myself as I watch the character struggle to overcome their internal hurdles.
I strive to do the same in my stories. To tell a story that’s deeply resonate and reminds us all about the importance of hope, love, and growth.
Where do you draw inspiration?
Music. I listen to a lot of music.
What is your biggest challenge in writing?
Not giving up during that first round of editing. No matter how many times I’ve written something that ends up being something I’m proud of whenever I read a first draft of a new story I get that ugly voice that says “ah-ha so I am a fraud. I knew it. All those other stories were lucky coincidences. I actually can’t write and this is terrible.” Which just isn’t true lol.
Luckily, I know this and move past it. All part of the writing ✨ process ✨
What is your immediate reaction when you receive a new comment on a fic?
Happiness EXPLOSION in my brain. And then I’m smiling about those kind words all day. I want to print each one out and put it on my wall.

From the final chapter of Becoming His Mobius (posting Sunday)
A horn from a commuter train sounded outside the window. Mobius glanced at the clock beside Loki’s bed. It was later than when he normally woke up, mid-morning instead of the crack of dawn.
He shifted and rolled his shoulder slightly. It was mostly healed but there was still a bit of lingering pain. He must have slept on it wrong. Loki sleeping atop him probably didn’t help but Mobius didn’t mind. He could handle a little pain. Loki stirred slightly at Mobius’ movement.
“Mobius,” the god grumbled, tightening his arms around the TVA agent, “for once in your life please sleep in. We almost died last night. Surely that has earned us a bit of a respite.”
What story or scene are you most proud of?
Rising From the Ashes. I've been writing my entire life but this was the first story I have ever seen through to the end. Writing it allowed me to prove to myself that I could write and finish something I was comfortable sharing with the world. It will always have the most special place in my heart.

Share a bit of a scene that you’ve written that still gives you FEELS cont: Loki meeting Princess Loki
The young Sylvie looked at her older self again and let out an exasperated sigh before she changed right before Loki’s eyes.
They told me I was adopted.
The princess’ pale skin transformed to the bright blue of the Jotun, white markings etched across her face and arms. Her red Frost Giant eyes found Loki’s and she smiled cheekily. Those eyes. Loki couldn’t suppress a small gasp. Loki had always been silently grateful his body was an illusion he hadn’t figured out how to break. Loki didn’t want to look down and see that blue skin tainting his own, those red eyes staring back at him in the mirror.
Loki hated this form, his true self. This form showed him what he had always believed to be true. He was the monster parents told their children about at night. Every child of Asgard lived in fear of seeing those bright red Frost Giant eyes descend upon them in the dark. They were the eyes of demons, angry and evil.
And yet, looking into Princess Loki’s red Frost Giant eyes, Loki saw none of that. He saw a cheerful, intelligent, kind, if a bit mischievous child. Loki was struck once again by how similar those eyes were to Sylvie’s, how similar they were to his own. In this child’s eyes, he saw the eyes of a hero, of a warrior. He saw eyes worthy of a Princess of Asgard.

Hi! I was wondering if you could do a marvel character match up with me?
I’m a girl, bisexual and give off so many Bi vibes, but have a preference for men, 5’7, super curvy, oh and I have glasses.
I have the most curly auburn hair ever that goes down to my waist when wet and combed. My favorite color is emerald green. I love the dark and nighttime because there are no worries until when the sun rises. I can go days without going outside or being with people. I love being alone but I would also give anything to be showered in affection and cuddles. My love language is word of affection and physical touch since I’m extremely touch starved.
I fall in love with boys in books who treat the one they love like a queen. And boys on tv who are so misunderstood you just wanna tell them that you do understand them.
I could spend millions of years and a day reading books with tea and a comfy sweater. I would die without music and kinda have a fear of silence. I’m good at drawing but not painting or basically using any color. I have a LOT of sketchbooks. I sketch people, and would love to sketch my partner.
I have always been smart, smarter than most my age but I’ve always felt I’ll never live up to the podium my older brother had built up. My parents, my teachers, all my family expect so much from me that I can’t give. My brother will always be better than me and I’ll never be able to live up to him and it makes me feel paralyzed and useless.
My dad is never home and has so much anxiety and ptsd that my biggest fear in life is that I will end up like him. He doesn’t treat my mother the way she deserves and I’m scared of him when he’s in that mood. The only thing that anybody has every told me is that I’m like him and i don’t want to believe it.
I’ve always been insecure about my name because it’s a boys name for a girl so I use my middle name.

— How long have you been writing fanfiction?
In total? Errr more than 25 years. But there was a long gap in there!
— Do you have a favorite word? (One that you love. Doesn’t necessarily have to be one you use all the time.)
I feel like I have one, but I really have no idea what it is. (This question made me wish there was some algorithm that would look at all of my works on AO3 and tell me what the most commonly used words are lol)
— Share a favorite run-on sentence that you’ve written.
I purposefully use run-on sentences a lot when I want to show a character drowning in their emotions/feelings. Here are two quite long ones that I found that I particularly like:
It’s not like he wants to spend a night with Loki, that’s insane, but that fact hasn’t stopped his mind from helpfully replaying the feeling of Loki’s fingers curled around his wrist, or how he’d pressed close as they hid just outside the collective’s hideout, waiting for an opportunity to slip away so Mobius could call for backup and Loki could disappear into the shadows again. (—from What Makes A Good Man)
Or, they had seemed that way, until Illya caught himself staring breathlessly at the line of Napoleon’s neck as he craned for a better view of something, or the way his lips pouted when he found his glass of scotch mysteriously empty, or the way his hips moved subtly when he danced to a song only he could hear in the privacy of their suite. (—from Love is a Chemical)

How about: basically the entire end of You, or Your Memory, which I don’t want to spoil for anyone who hasn’t read it. But here’s one part of it:
No one—no one—has ever kissed Loki like this. Not even close. Mobius kisses him with a reverence that is truly shattering, like he savoring every second of contact, like Loki is the only thing in the entire universe that matters. He cradles Loki’s jaw with tenderness that is completely at odds with the way Loki’s hands are twisted the front of his jacket, clinging with a desperation that he’d no doubt find disgraceful if he had even a remote corner of his mind to devote to the thought. As it is, though, he doesn’t. Mobius’s lips are delicate and demanding in turn, setting a pace that makes it feel as if they could keep kissing for the rest of time.

Enemies (or rivals) to friends to lovers is definitely my favorite dynamic. I can’t get enough!
— Do you have a hyper-specific genre?
I don’t think so! I mean, the single genre I write the most in is spy fiction, but that’s not really hyper-specific. I have too much fun bouncing around in different AUs.
— Any personal or frequently used tags?
“Food as a Metaphor for Love” is in there a lot, but one of my non-standard personal AO3 tags that I love is “soft boys being soft”. According to AO3 my two most-used tags (tied for first) are “Getting Together” and “Angst with a Happy Ending”, which sounds about right.
— Share a joke or funny moment that you’ve written that still makes you laugh.
It’s not really easily shared moment, but one of my first Napollya fics (Light Will Keep Your Heart Beating in the Future) contains a recurring joke about defenestrations in Prague and it always delights me to no end when someone comments on it lol.
— Best editing tip?
Read dialogue out loud to help figure out if the flow is natural.
— What drives you to write?
All these stories in my head busting to get out! And to be honest with you, getting to share them all with you, and hopefully bringing other people joy in reading them.
— Share something about your writing that you have wished someone would ask you about. Or alternatively, something that you are just really proud of.
One of my favorite things is surprising my readers with a twist. When I started plotting out long stories instead of writing them on the fly, I discovered the joy of seeding lots of foreshadowing and hints in the story prior to the twist, which I think (hope!) really makes rereads even better.
— Where do you draw inspiration?
From all around me, really. Sometimes from other media or things I’ve read, sometimes from friends’ ideas or prompts.
— What is your immediate reaction when you receive a new comment on a fic?
Sheer, unadulterated joy? 😅
— What is your biggest challenge in writing?
Probably staying motivated without external validation. It’s why I tend to post multichaps as I’m writing them, because it’s hard to put a lot of effort into a long story and not know if anyone actually cares about it.

Alex knows his food is damned good, he’s got no false modesty there, but he’s rarely had such a reaction to someone enjoying his cooking. Maybe it’s the way that Henry moans when he takes the first bite that’s making his face feel hot, or the way he shamelessly chases the errant sauce that runs down his long fingers with his tongue that has sweat beading up at his temples. Maybe it’s just really hot in this kitchen.

“I mean it this time. This is it.”
Thor tried to let her words sink in. He and Jane had always had a rocky relationship – she seemed to not understand how busy he was and why, taking it personally when he wasn’t around as much as she thought he should be. They had broken up before, but she had come back to him every time. But the thought that she was leaving for good this time didn’t sit right with him.
They were seated across from each other in his living room – her on the couch, him in his favorite chair. She hadn’t even taken off her cream-colored coat and bright scarf, saying she couldn’t stay long.
Now he knew why.
He slid his hands to the end of the armrests and sighed. “Jane, I just don’t understand. After all we’ve been through-“
“’All we’ve been through’ is why I’m leaving you.” She had put air quotes around the words, but now knitted her fingers together and rested her hands on her lap. “You’ve gotten me hurt – almost gotten me killed – and for what? You already have more money thank you know how to spend. You could just stop.”
“I can protect you.”
“And you’ve said that before. You can’t if you’re always off doing God knows what.”
“My men can.”
“Oh yes, like that’s a substitute for your time.” She rolled her eyes. God, he hated when she did that. “Look, the biggest part of the problem is that even when you are here, you’re not here. I know you have the biggest drug empire on the east coast, but you’ve always put that before me. Before us. You care about that more than you care about me. And I shouldn’t take a backseat to all that!” She was waving her hands around at the room, animated now. “I should be more than just a sex toy for you. I want more than that.”
It took a second for him to recover from the shock of that. Did she truly not know how much he cared for her? His heart ached at the words. “That’s not true and you know it.”
“You won’t even let me in! You don’t tell me about your day, about how business is going, anything.” She continued like he hadn’t even spoken.
He scrubbed a calloused hand over his face. So she did know. She was just throwing words at him to make him angry. Well, it was working. “First, you want me to keep you safe. Then you want me to let you in on everything. Which is it that you want, woman?” He was raising his voice now, but he didn’t care. “You said yourself that I have the most powerful empire on the east coast. That comes with all the money and comfort that you could need, and it makes me a very powerful man.”
Her eyes narrowed at him. “Is that supposed to be a threat?”
He blinked at her. “To you? Of course not.” He took in her expression, and all the rage that was starting to simmer. A softer approach, then. He softened his voice when he spoke next. “But it does make me enemies. Enemies that can be dangerous enough that I don’t want you to know everything. For your own safety, in case the situation ever arises that one of them would want information from you. I could protect you anyway, but better to deter the thought that that would work.”
She took a deep breath, closing her eyes. When she opened them, she spoke. “Then it’s time to remove myself from the possibility of that situation.” She rose, crossing to the door behind him.
Thor didn’t move. He didn’t want her to go, and he wouldn’t help her to do so by escorting her out. He just turned in his chair to watch her over his shoulder.
She opened the door slightly, but she stopped. She looked over at him, the anger that had been in her eyes a moment ago giving way to sadness. “I truly wish you good luck, Thor. With everything.”
And then she was gone.
He turned back to face the spot where she had sat a moment ago. His heart sank, worse than it had any of the other times that she had left him. There was something in her eyes that made him doubt for a moment that she was ever coming back again, and that thought was tearing at him.
Not long after she gone, Loki appeared, two glasses of scotch in his hands. “That is unfortunate, brother.” He handed one of the glasses to Thor. “I liked her. I’m sorry.”
Thor would never understand how his brother came to know the things he knew, or how he just seemed to appear out of thin air all of the time. It had been an invaluable tool to help his empire grow, though, so he didn’t question it too much. “Thank you, Loki.”
Loki took a sip of his own scotch before asking. “So, what now?”
Thor didn’t answer, but downed most of his drink in one gulp. He was still staring at the place on the couch where Jane had been. He thought of the way her light curls had framed her face, the way the light had made shadows on her pretty face…
She had thought he had meant to threaten her, And yet, when she left, she still looked at him with such softness, like she didn’t really want to go.
He hadn’t needed to threaten her – didn’t want to force her into being there. But all the same, with that look, he knew she would be back. The mystery of being with him, and the allure of being able to afford all of the books or telescopes that she could dream of – that would be enough to lead her back to him, as it always had.
He scrubbed his hand over his face again. Dragging with it any of the doubt he was feeling. Then he finished his drink and rose.
For he had work to do.

currently reading: Just started McGlue by Ottessa Moshfegh for my book club. Unsure how I feel about it so far but curious where it goes. For pleasure I’m making my way through a re-read of Discworld. Just finished Witches Abroad. Oh, and online I’m intending to read through AuroraWest’s You Came To Me Wild and Wired strangefrost collection. Read some of it already, it’s fab, but I need to do it properly with comments and such :P

favorite flower: I’m not really sure, but fuchsias are pretty
number of muses: Strictly two, Loki and Jack Sparrow. Though I have my boy XI, an AU of the 11th Doctor who might spark up again when the next era of DW starts. He has a couple of sideblogs for characters in his story. Technically Loki counts as several muses since I play a few different versions of him. I like to focus on 1-2 though for time management purposes. I’m also writing Hela and I NPC some other Marvel muses where needed on a private Discord server.
favorite muse of yours: I really can’t choose between Loki and Jack. Of all time, it’s probably Jack when it comes to how much he means to me for my life in general, but equally I’ve involved certain aspects of Loki within me (aside from that he’d have a strop if I pick Jack) and Loki allows for a wider range of stories. Let’s throw in a curveball and say XI for how rich his history is that I’ve built myself and with other writers. No, nope, I just can’t choose. My favourite to write at the moment is Loki, so he’s fronting.
favorite show: Farscape. Hands down. There are many I love, but it’s always my absolute favourite.
number of followers: 1125 - but I’ve never moved blogs or urls, I’ve been here since 2017, and a lot of these will be inactive or partners who have changed blogs a few times so all their previous urls are still there XD
number of starters: I’m not quite sure I understand this question. Is this how many I’ve ever written? Because that’d be impossible to tell. If it’s how many are pending for me to write, I have 4 asks waiting for their turn on those partner’s rounds, a few drafts but I’m not sure I’d count them as starters since they’re more replies to starters. last movie you saw: In the cinema it was Thor: Love & Thunder. That might actually be the last movie I saw as I can’t remember watching anything but episodes of stuff since then.

Any villain (from any media) that you genuinely despise? And not in the good ol’ “love to hate em” kinda way, a villain that you truly can’t stand. An explanation would be appreciated for whatever villain or villains you choose.
Yeah, I have a few notable ones. Let's do my Top Five LEAST Favorite Villains of all time:
5. Alexander Pierce (Captain America: Winter Soldier)
Gonna be honest, I had to look up his name because I forgot it. That should tell you all you need to know. Literally the only thing about Pierce that I could tell you off the top of my head is that he filled the role that belonged to Dell Rusk (the Red Skull's alter ego). That's literally it. This guy was the most bland and forgettable villain I have ever encountered. The MCU might stumble a lot in their villains, but even still, when you have to stack up in a universe with Loki, Red Skull, Kingpin, John Garrett, Grant Ward, Thanos, Ultron, Hela, Obadiah Stane, Kilgrave, and even villains I dislike like Adridge Killian, you've got to go big or go home.
The movie sets us up for a intelligent and thought-provoking discussion of the faults of America, but then everything bad in American history just gets pinned to Hydra. It's the same type of thing people do in real life with things like the Illuminati: oh, a shadowy, faceless organization is the cause of all evil in the world. It encourages looking for boogeymen than actually work towards societal betterment, so that type of conspiracy narrative just leaves a really bad taste in my mouth. Not to mention, of course, that everything about Hydra is just a bunch of bland and boring politically correct versions of Nazis, and they've rarely ever been used effectively. This was no exception either.
4. King Stefan (Maleficent)
Pretty much the mortal wound that made Maleficent a bad movie rather than just a kind of boring one. His badness is a poison that just drags everything around him down. First of all, his acting is terrible. He looks like the part well enough, but whenever he opens his mouth with that nasal voice that showed no complex expression, it was just cringe worthy. He's also an in-universe example of the Ron the Death Eater trope, where a hero gets portrayed as a villain to make the woobie villain look better.
In the original film Stefan was a good king and loving father who seeks only to protect his daughter from a maliciously invoked curse. Here he's reduced to a one-dimensional evil king so that the woman who curses a baby to death can look heroic, and I'm just not here for that. But upon rewatching it, the biggest problem with him kind of slapped me in the face: we barely get any sense of his existence or relationship to anything. For the main antagonist driving our conflict, he's barely in the movie and most everything from his motivations to his entire history with Maleficent is exposited to us via the narration rather than shown through any scenes or interactions where he's on screen. It feels like any opportunity to get a feeling for who he is just gets glossed over.
Hell, he and Maleficent don't get to have any dialogue in the big climax. For a relationship that formed the backbone of why Maleficent turned bad and why any of this was happening, it's just... nothing. There's nothing there. Everything with him needed to go deeper if this movie was going to work, but it's cut down to the point where the movie feels like it just rushes through its entire story and he's so flimsy that it feels like things just happen rather than connecting to things.
3. Dawn Bellwether (Zootopia)
Sometimes I have deep and thoughtful gripes with character writing and commentary. Sometimes I just hate characters because they're stupid. This is the latter category. She's SO fucking annoying. She felt like one surprise twist villain too many, and it really made me groan when I saw that they were basically just doing Hans over again with her (like almost EXACTLY note for note). The other major irk I have is that she's a Disney villain, that brand I've obsessively collected for all of my life. If you're a Disney villain without grandiose evil plans, vibrant colors, or a charismatic personality, then really I have very little use for you.
Also I feel like her social commentary was VERY muddled and not at all the comprehensive look at bigotry that movie tries to portray. With all her talk of being the little guy and her heavy workplace discrimination she gets from Mayor Lionheart, it's really not a stretch to read her ultimate reveal as the villain who instigated the entire conflict as implying "Super scary SJW is the one creating real prejudice." And, yeah, I'm sick to death of that bullshit in every form. But even if we completely decouple the movie from any real life parallels, she's still way too easy of a solution to an issue built up to be highly complex by the narrative. She's a scapegoat (scapesheep?) that gets treated like the source of all of the systematic prejudices, and... just no.
2. Sauron (The Lord of the Rings)
Here's the big thing that I have to admit: there's a lot that I actually DO like about Sauron. I like the whole evil overlord trope, I like how powerful and mysterious he is, I like the stuff that's implied about him, I like the backstory scene in the prologue, and I like a lot of the aesthetic choices surrounding him.
But, as I've said many times before, he's not a character. He has no personality. He never does anything. There's absolutely no pay off to three whole movies of him being the invisible hand. And intellectually, I understand that a lot of the point of him is to be more of an idea than a character. More like a metaphor for evil or as a stand in for the devil than the actual main antagonist. And I feel like, even if they weren't going to have him show up and get involved personally, it still COULD have worked if they played it more like he was the god/patron of the actual main villain. Maybe even if they kind of toyed with the question of his existence sort of like True Blood did with Dionysus in the Maryann storyline. They don't do that, of course.
But the thing that ends up being a stake in the coffin is that there's not even really another villain who fills the physical antagonist role that Sauron is absent from. At least not in its entirety. Part of why I think Fellowship IS the strongest LotR movie is because Saruman and the Nazgul very directly full that role. They are the main villains and Sauron is their cause that they're fighting for the background. The Two Towers is all Saruman, which is fine except he doesn't do much in that movie himself either so blah, and then Return of the King gives us the Witch King to fill that role. And the Witch King is kinda blah and generic, but he has a cool design and motif... but then he gets killed by a side character and no one seems to even notice that he's gone even though there's still like an HOUR of movie left to go after he dies. Sauron's front man is gone, and there's still a lot of movie to go where Sauron should FINALLY be doing something himself but isn't. Sauron IS the final villain and the spanning villain of the franchise, but he does nothing so the entire conflict with him just kinda feels like dudes clanging swords with no oomph behind it.
Also I got cyberbullied pretty badly by LotR fans back when I was thirteen because I didn't put Sauron higher on a Top Ten Villains Video. And I'm a petty bitch who holds onto things. They ruined me for ever liking Lord of the Rings and Sauron in particular is the cornerstone of my over a decade spanning vendetta.
The High Sparrow (Game of Thrones)
Never have I ever encountered a villain who has made me more physically ill than this fucker. I can stomach a lot of horrible bad guys who do horrible things, but the High Sparrow literally made me nauseous when he was on screen. One of my personal "triggers" (for lack of a better term) is that scenario of fanatics using religion to justify murdering and torturing those who they perceive to be "sinners," which is particularly visceral for me as a gay man. Real life things like the Pulse Nightclub shooting and the former Vice President of the United States advocating for electro-shock therapy for gay people are persistent reminders that the LGBT community still isn't really safe or accepted.
I live with the burden of those worries, and this guy's treatment of Loras in particular (but also Cersei and Margaery too) caused all of that to boil up. Everything this guy did was just so unpleasant and gross and honestly it's not something that I actually want to devote my time to watching. I came very close to quitting Game of Thrones altogether over him. Yes, I know in the books, he never goes after Loras, but he still goes after Margaery and Cersei for "adultery" and the Penance Walk for Cersei still happens and that's still gross.
On top of the triggering elements, I've never really been fond of characters with no build up coming in and shattering the status quo (see my whole aversion to the "Xemnas Complex"). It's just always been a plot that frustrated me because I'm constantly sitting there knowing that in an earlier installment, X character could have ended this very quickly and the fact that the likes of Cersei or Olenna or Baelish couldn't just squish the Sparrows easily just doesn't feel right to me. These are a handful of religious fanatics against the most powerful and intelligent people in the kingdom. Common people support or no, it just doesn't make sense to me that the High Sparrow could get away with everything he did for so long.
When season six rolled around, I thought they'd kill him off in the first episode of the season at the hands of Frakenmountain, but NOPE he was there ALL SEASON LONG. His plot was such a drag throughout. King's Landing was my favorite plotline in the show and he made it unpleasant and completely devoid of plot momentum. And his ultimate motivation for all of this? He had a bad hangover once. Really? REALLY? That's fucking stupid. While Cersei may have been behind the explosion of the Sept, a development I really did like, I completely blame the High Sparrow for the deaths of Margaery, Loras, Kevan, and Mace, who all deserved so much better. They were casualties of the High Sparrow underestimating Cersei, mistakes none of them would have made if the Sparrow hadn't paraded their humiliating penance out and then stopped them from leaving. Because he was so self-assured by his gods that he was on top of the world, he cost the show four of its best characters.
GOD I HATE HIM. His death was incredibly satisfying, and he shall not be missed. Worst Game of Thrones character by far, and I'm nauseous just thinking about him.
