Being in a relationship with this man would be a roller-coaster of emotions…

But you can’t really complain!

People see him as “cold and self-centered”, which is partially true.

BUT when he’s in love, it’s like his whole personality changes.

You are his whole world, and he will do everything to put his ego aside, and show you just how loving he can be.

And boy, he succeeds…

When he first saw you, it was love at first sight, or at least for him.

He would find out everything about you, what you like to eat, what hobbies you have, and the places you like to be at.

He would just wait for you to approach him first, but it wasn’t that easy…

After a while, he stopped being stubborn and started talking to you.

Berlin would make sure you fall for him, and that would be his biggest goal.

He would take you on extraordinary dates and totally spoil you.

He prefers calm private dates, but wouldn’t mind going to a bar/nightclub if you like that.

Despite his sophisticated looks, he knows how to party. (That one scene in Berlin when he’s at the punk club LMAOO)

Seeing you hyped up makes him happy, so how can he not love partying with you?

The two of you having lazy mornings together. Berlin is a night owl, and getting him out of bed in the morning is a challenge.

He’ll also never let you leave bed. - “Just 5 more minutes, love! - “Are you gonna leave me, all cold and lonely in bed, huh?”

Berlin wouldn’t give up his flirting until you fall in love with him.

Once that happens - he won’t shut up about you

Like, EVER.

He would drive Sergio and his other friends insane with how much he talks about you, telling them a bit too much about his love life…

Berlin is the cheesiest guy you’ll ever meet, tbh.

And he takes that as a compliment.

He would write you love letters, send good-morning AND goodnight messages to you, and bring you flowers every now and then.

Berlin is a man with many talents, and he loves impressing you, especially with his singing

Cheesy as it sounds, he even sings you serenades to express his love and devotion.

You’d have to put up with his weird and impulsive ideas.

Whether it’s planning a spontaneous trip, a heist, etc…

He needs someone to tell him to calm the hell down lol

As seen in the show, Berlin is very passionate and a bit unpredictable.

Being in a relationship is no exception.

Everyday with him is like an adventure, and he knows how to spice things up to not end up like a “boring couple”.

His goal would be making sure the honeymoon phase never ends.

He would make sure to tell you how amazing and good-looking you are EVERYDAY.

He is not afraid to argue with you, but would rather admit he is “wrong” rather than have you be mad at him for too long.

He’s not always good at reading your emotions and knows what you’re feeling, but tries to.

It breaks his heart to see you upset, and will try to make you feel better.

He can be rather possessive too. If someone stares at you for a bit too long, or flirt with you, he’s not afraid to show them that “you are his”.

He’s extra protective of you when you are around his friends. He wants to make sure you feel safe, and also that no one tries hitting on you…

Especially if you are shy, he’d be very close to you, smile at you when you talk and laugh extra loud if you say something funny.

He makes sure your friends like him.

He wants to make a good impression on everyone, but especially when it is your friends and family.

Big fan of PDA. He’s a man that is not afraid to kiss you in public, and he practically never lets go of your hand when you’re outdoors together.

When cuddling, he prefers being the big spoon.

One of Berlin’s love languages is touch.

He enjoys having his hand on your thigh, giving your shoulders soft massages, and forehead kisses. He’s the type of guy to kiss your hands, too.

If you have long hair, he tends to fidget with it, running his fingers through it, stroking it away from your face and even braiding it.

Berlin definitely treats you like a god/goddess.

But the relationship would also be challenging from time to time.

Berlin being a criminal does bother you.

Your fear is for him to get caught and end up in jail.

He’d have to reassure you a lot that he won’t get caught, promising you that he will be fine.

But don’t worry, he makes sure to keep that promise.

His pet names for you: (My) love, honey, babe…

His phone is full with pictures of you and you’re definitely both his home- and lock-screen.

He has lots of money, and spends them on you, whether you like it or not.

Berlin enjoys luxury and wants to give you a luxurious life.

His dream is to travel and see the world with you by his side.

If you don’t speak Spanish, he would offer to teach it to you.

He is very overprotective and makes sure you keep a distance from his work.

But he does enjoy impressing you with dramatic stories about his heists.

During his most difficult and dangerous heists, he will think of you and keep on fighting so he can come back home to you.

When he’s away for a longer time, Berlin makes sure to text and call you with regular updates. But in all honesty, he just misses your voice.

Like I said earlier, he is an unpredictable man, and if someone is mean to you, yikes… - “Just drop it, Andrés!” “No, babe… I’ll have a ‘chat’ with them…”

Remember the throwback scene of Berlin and the man that made fun of his bow tie?

Let’s just say, whoever insulted you will return to you and apologize, trembling and crying from pain and fright.

…Berlin would just return to you with a smug smile, pretending like nothing happened…

And act all clueless when you confront him about it.

With you, Berlin is soft and passionate, but others view him as your “scary boyfriend”, a title he accepts with pride.

To summarize… Despite Berlin's cold exterior, he is the complete opposite with you. He has so much love to give, and isn’t scared to do so. He will make sure to worship you and make sure you feel loved. All he wants is to spend his time with you, and give you the passion, excitement and devotion you deserve. Being together with him is definitely not boring.

Ahh let's see - I cannot remember much about Rafael, because I prefer to pretend he doesn't exist. I do remember he's an engineer (like Martín--) with a degree from MIT. Didn't Andrés pay for that?

Anyway, I doubt his daughter would get that kind of a treatment. Andrés is so intensely misogynist, and ~traditional besides, I don't think he'd care to fund a woman's studies. And anyway, she should spend her time on something more fitting of a woman. Not to mention, she doesn't need a degree: she has a pretty face, that'll get her far in life. Just look at her mother! She got married to Andrés, after all; what more could a woman want? What more should a woman aspire for, beyond attracting a powerful man?

If she wanted to look for his approval (terrible choice, but I wanna give her the autonomy to make her own terrible choices, anyway), suppose she could follow him into a career in crime. She should seduce men and rob them, that kind of thing. That might at least fit his idea of how a woman should be (going by how Tatiana was a fellow thief, and he seemed pleased by that).

And when all is said and done - would he care about her? I doubt that. He doesn't really seem like a family man. Too hedonistic, too selfish. Maybe he could begrudgingly respect her, some day. As a woman, though - not as a person.

(Now, I recall I've been asked this before, in an anon ask I never remembered to answer. May have been you. Nonetheless, I'm sorry about that - I've always been a terrible texter, if that helps.)

Do you remember when Serquel stans demanded spin-off Serquel and people (myself included) were like "What do you ask for, a rom-com? Haha, grow up! They chose Berlin, because his backstory has more to offer" and yet.. here we are... a Berlin rom-com.

Lmfaaooo yes. I made comments like these myself, "what do they want, a sitcom for kids?" and "LCDP itself was the Serquel spinoff"...

And now? We are the worst clowns 🤡

This is karma, we laughed so much at them that the universe revolted against us 😂

But, jokes aside, we were convinced that they chose Berlin in order to do something good, not just a rom-com that will get cancelled after a season...

Yes, Berlin's backstory has so much to offer IF YOU DO IT RIGHT. Because narratively he's of course the better choice for a drama, but the worst for a rom-com. I can't even imagine how they will manage to make the whole thing work, and if they do, they'll get my respect.

But before then, I remain skeptical.

if it was just the kiss blooper i'd even say maybe they don't want to publish out of consideration for the actors or something, but all the s4 bloopers are missing.. and the whole fandom demanding those, not just berlermos. idk, is it possible they lost the footage for an entire season? :D

Yeah, I also thought the actors may see the scenes as too intimate to share and that's absolutely valid, but you're not wrong, it's not just those scenes in a s4 blooper reel. The LCdP official YT account highlights this oversight very well.

Lol I'm not sure how they could lose the footage; I'm thinking everything must be in at least one person's editing software, but idk? Maybe they thought they didn't have enough footage or something, because yeah, people keep reminding them on all platforms. And it's just bloopers, you know? Overall charming and showing how much fun the cast and crew had on set; I'm really not that invested but the fact that they still didn't share then and people keep asking - yeah, now I'm super curious. And it's turned into some damn good LCdP meme/inside reference - "season 4 bloopers where?"

1/n Oof, it sounds lovely to be called the 'hermanos stan' :D It's been nearly 2 years and I still miss them, so it's such a pleasure to talk abt them with you! No, I didn't think you'd heard of it but Cricket as a sport is extremely popular where I'm from, even moreso than Football! You can't really avoid it this time of year which is why I put all my annoyance into Andrés lol. Yeah i agree, I think Sergio looks at it more as a team bonding "exercise" that is helpful even if he doesn't have any great liking for it, and when he watches like he said, he's more interested in rooting for the underdogs. Andrés too is probably just a casual watcher so the idea that they both assumed the other was OBSESSED is hilarious to me, it makes them feel more like real siblings growing up together and trying to find some common ground :')

You can't convince me that Andrés in his 20s had fricking SPACE SUITS, I definitely feel like if we stick to canon, the true canon of the Initial seasons of lcdp (even upto s3 and the few glimpses of the dark parts of his nature in s4) your headcanons in Corners are much more fitting. They are the Real~ canon to me asdfjsk, and I'm sure andrés would agree!

Your review on Corners + what you're saying here makes me :') That's literally how I envisioned it too, and why Corners is so special to me despite being such an odd little fic. It was the one (aside from substitution) that built most from the Andres of s1/2, and a part of how I imagined he could become someone as insane and terrifying as Berlin. And YET the spinoff is telling us berlin was just his evil twin or something?? Exactly LMAO what even is with those space suits? At what point did he live in a romcom when the whole point of his character is that his romanticized life only exists in his own head? s3/4 Andres was "softer" but he still had plenty of the darkness and edge that would lean into Berlin. So I'm glad my fic could fill that gap haha and I"m hugely honored you feel this way about it!

n/n LOL My absolutely self indulgent and utopian idea of a Berlin spinoff would just be the extended version of "Hermanito", the hermanos as kids becoming the Professor and Berlin as we know them, but seeing how 2 kids growing up in poverty and illness make it and rooting for them, and maybe even exploring how their different personalities and moralities (!) play off each other, there's so much to think about there. But ofc, what we REALLY need are more rafaels and characters no one cares abt 🙃 Ohh I'm just happy EC fit with your ideas about him and andrés, I would LOVE a hermanos centric event omg, if and when it ever happens!! In the newest interview, alvaro said that big chances that professor wouldn't be in the spin off because it's berlin's project and focusing on his new cast or crew. He said this one (Berlin) is separated from LCDP. Does that mean that we wont get Palermo too? 😢 I mean, if the whole 8 eps are just about berlin having fun with strangers he pretends to be friends with, whats the point of watching? The only thing we can hope, maybe the plot would be good, but from the teaser, I too have a doubt about it.

I haven't seen that interview (if those are his exact words, "big chance" is a weird way to phrase it since shooting is done, he's either in it or he's not lol.) Anyway, I wouldn’t take too much away from his words. They are pretty much a rephrasing of what Pina has been saying. They might mean Sergio won't show up at all, or that Sergio will only show up through a cameo, not in as a central way as LCDP. And that makes sense to me either way. I would personally love a cameo but generally regarding Sergio, it makes sense that he wouldn't be present through all his brother's heists and gangs and day to day life (which was already established in canon).

So I wouldn't compare Sergio's situation with Martín. At least on a textual level. Once established that Andrés had met Martín, it would make zero sense that Martín wouldn't be there since we know from canon Martín has been on his side for ten years prior to the monastery flashbacks. And generally speaking, there is not a single character from LCDP that belongs more in Berlin the show than actual lcdp lmfao. Martín's entire construction in canon was in the framework of Berlin.

That's not to say the show won't be about Berlin having fun with strangers for 8 episodes lmfao. That will probably be it. But I'm still in the belief that Palermo will guest-star or cameo in the last episode, as a form of Berlermo's first meeting. And I think if Rodrigo agrees and Netflix grants Pina a second season, he might be a main character going forward. I don't think there is a lot to hope for from the spin-off but I still believe it will be better and more surprising than we imagine now.

#regarding the whole Berlin is different from lcdp thing. it's just so stupid to me #i get that a spin-off should stand on its own legs. all spin-off creators want this to happen. a certain distant from the OG #but when it goes too far it becomes ridiculousl #Pina seems to believe he created a character that's so marvelous that you can generate an endless number of seperate stories from it #but in my view if you uproot a character soo far from his context (especially when it's a main character that you already milked in differe #t scenarios.) then you just lose focus and it ends up failing #ANYWAY I think there is a chance for Berlin to get a second season pretty quickly now whether it's wildly successful or not because of #the strikes #with the uncertainty of when American-produced shows will start production again; Netflix is basically reliant on European and other foreig #shows to keep their audience and subscribers appeased #and Berlin connected to lcdp (One of Netflix's biggest world-wide sensations) might get even more special treatment #lcdp #Berlin Netflix #also cursed idea but I think Pina might be on the road to make Berlin this sort of Pulp fiction adventure protagonist who is in a series of #2638833 books and each story with different cast of characters around him and different story but doesn’t seem to be getting older #or even aware or the things that happened to him in previous stories lol #I'd say the Sherlock Holmes character but in crime fiction but that's what Lupin is lol #it would be a poor imitation but I would find it hilarious if after all those connections Pina is trying to patch together between Andrés #and the new gang #next season he just changes them for a completely different cast and he keeps doing this for 37 more seasons #Netflix forgets he's on their payroll and it's 2035 and 60 smth Pedro is still playing 27 Andrés going on thievery adventures around Europe

Yes the looks Andrés gives Martín speak volumes, and also the way he praises him in front of Sergio and Sergio just has this look like he knows exactly what's going on and that this love is requited and if it ever reaches its full potential, these two and their plan will be unstoppable. But I'd LOVE the focus on Andrés' side, seeing how he looks at Martín when they're alone in the monastery, or the way he grieves after leaving him or thinks/talks about him when he's with one of his wives.

And I don't think Pina will do that but IMAGINE if Andrés were the same kind of narrator as Tokyo, there would be so much delusional talk which would be amazing and on top of that "Martín was amazing", "Martín was the only person in the group with a brain", "I went to Martín, because I knew he'd understand me and his beautiful smile would ease my nerves", "Martín is all I ever wanted in life, insane how a platonic love can make my dreams come true like that 🤪"

Now that you mention Miguel: reminds me the time when Alvaro Morte said that he personally imagines the professor being alone in the end - and that made the fandom (at least the serquel stans) crazy, saying he doesn't understand the character - when in fact, it was just a different interpretation from the popular one. i think this kind of mentality (attacking everyone they don' t agree with) prevented many from joining the fandom.

Same, honestly. And it turns out it's not just a LCDP fandom problem. Idek, I must sound like the crazy cat lady from The Simpsons, but I remember being online discussing different POVs and theories regarding our favorites with complete strangers and everyone having a great time - well, for the most part of it. 😜

But nowadays, you either go with the major flow and find your niche within the popular accounts or you just don't *belong* in the fandom, especially on Twitter, I think. I just got an actually rude response to an attempt at fan-talking on that social media, and I don't even think I went in like a troll [ at least it wasn't my intention ] and it's like... This is supposed to be a mere conversation between fans and people get all up as if we've offended their mother. 😥
