SMOKER ON THE BALCONY - "Beautiful," he replies, smiling. As he looks at you, something sparkles in his eyes.

"So tell me, are you here to make things *right* again?"

"That's what I'm aiming for, yes."

"Honestly I'm just trying to not screw anything up."

"I'm not going to make things just *right*, I'm going to make them *spectacular*."

(Ignore his question.) "I was hoping to talk to a possible witness. Your balcony overlooks the murder scene."

SMOKER ON THE BALCONY - "Beautiful," he says again. A nearby street lamp casts shadows on his chin, drawing out the slender cheekbones.

"I have some good news for you. My Sunday friend is visiting me tonight. I told him about you and he'd like to say hello. Step in, he's already waiting." He nods towards door #28.

"By the way, I'm really digging the view here." (Point to the city skyline.)

"Is it Friday tonight? It feels like Friday."

"Why would I want to meet your friend?"

"Very well, I'll talk to him, but first I want to talk to *you*. I have so many questions." (Proceed.)

SMOKER ON THE BALCONY - "Mhmh, that's why I chose this place." He looks away, his cigarette end glowing in the dark. "Martinaise is special, isn't it?"

KIM KITSURAGI - "Wait, suddenly you're *digging* things?" the lieutenant whispers to you, shaking his head.

2. "Is it Friday tonight? It feels like Friday."

SMOKER ON THE BALCONY - "Yeah, it does feel like the end of the week. Such gentle weather..."

"Even the rain feels nice." He leans over the railing and sticks out his hand to feel the rain.

3. "Why would I want to meet your friend?"

SMOKER ON THE BALCONY - "Trust me, you do."

4. "Very well, I'll talk to him, but first I want to talk to *you*. I have so many questions." (Proceed.)

SMOKER ON THE BALCONY - "That's nice, but I don't have anything to tell you. It's my friend you're looking for, not me."

He takes another drag of his unfiltered cigarette and looks around. It's getting dark and the neighbouring windows have lit up one by one.

PERCEPTION (SIGHT) [Medium: Success] - Downstairs a cat crosses the yard, disappearing into the bush.

SMOKER ON THE BALCONY - "Besides, I've got to run."

INLAND EMPIRE [Easy: Success] - He's going to leave you alone again. That's sad.

COMPOSURE [Medium: Success] - Something tells you you're never going to talk to an individual this cool or mysterious ever again.

"Run where?"

"But I just *found* you again!"

"Go, if you must, I don't care. I don't care about people leaving me all the time."

SMOKER ON THE BALCONY - "Just look at it..." He gestures towards distant motorways, all leading to golden La Delta. "It's a beautiful night. Who's going to stay in on a night like this?"

"Only if you promise that we'll talk again. It's *important*."

"Alright, go then."

KIM KITSURAGI - Something flutters in the corner of the lieutenant's mouth as you're saying those words.

EMPATHY [Formidable: Success] - It's laughter!

SMOKER ON THE BALCONY - "We'll talk," the smoker assures you, brushing his hand through the hair. "Just not tonight."

"Take care, alright?" he says with another disarming smile, before slipping off into the night.

Frisk’s anxious fingers wove through thick brown hair, and Sans was quietly captivated by her while she mindlessly braided her tresses out of her face. While his mind was constantly racing with his own terrors and anxieties, something about her presence soothed him. Made him realize that his life wasn’t a train derailing and crashing into what little sanity he had left. Despite this, the train kept racing along; a lot was on both of their minds. 

How did that witch find out about that power? How have I never known? She’d almost taken Frisk… He was forced to remember when Frisk had almost lost it completely. She’d almost killed him in a feral fit of rage. If she’d been able to do what this new Determined witch could do… would she have succeeded? Would she have ripped out his soul and left his body to crumble into dust? 

Facing a Determined One who’d taken the dark path to corruption… would they be able to make it? Looking at the bruises on Frisk’s arms and face, he knew the answer. He just wasn’t able to admit it to himself. 

What if it's all for nothing? What if everything I’ve done falls apart and the mafia comes back stronger than ever? I can’t let that happen. I have to win, I have to. Her chest constricted and burned her from the inside as her anxiety balled up in the pit of her stomach. 

It was then she noticed Sans gazing at her and she sucked in a slow breath. “Sans…” she whispered. He wrapped an arm around her and pulled her in for an embrace. She squeezed him tight before pulling away, just a hair’s breadth from his fangs. “Once this is over… if it ever fucking ends… promise me you won’t let me get into anymore bullshit battles or rebellions… or anything where I have to have all the answers. If I have to do this anymore I think I’ll combust,” she breathed. 

His grimace softened with understanding and he rested his forehead against hers. Knowing Frisk… “Trust me kid, if I thought I could actually keep you from stickin’ your nose into this shit, I’d’ve done it by now.”  

She scoffed with wry laughter. She hated that he was right. It wasn’t that the world never stopped turning. The world would always turn. It was her stubbornness, her refusal to just stand by and do nothing that made her turn along with it. He knew her too well. It was almost annoying if not for the fact she knew he felt the same about it all. In that, they shared understanding and solidarity. 

He brushed his thumb along the contour of her cheek, and over the plump swell of her lip. He’d missed those lips. Telling him it would all work out. That she needed him, no, better, wanted him. That she had his back through thick and thin. 

Another gust of wind, and he swept a loose hair from her face before leaning into her. He stopped himself, a hair’s breadth away from her nose, eyes half-lidded as he took in the sight of her.  

Before he could say anything, she let out a blissful sigh and fell into his kiss. As soon as her lips met his fangs, he yanked her closer and met her in her passion. She breathed him in as if he were her oxygen. He wrapped his arms around her small waist and deepened their kiss with a gentle tilt of his head. Tongue, lips and teeth locked in a carefully wonderful dance of love.

So tbh I pretty much don't listen french music lmao

But if you are into rock music, yuou should listen to Indochine, it's the most famous french rock band, they've been around since the 80s and they also always had engaged texts about queerness, war, etc.

Check : L'Aventurier (aka their most famous song we always butcher at karaoke cause it's too fast lmao), 3e Sexe, Canary Bay, Tes Yeux noirs, La vie est belle, J'ai demandé à la lune, Les Tzars, Trois nuits par semaine, College Boy, and basically everything.

There's also Superbus, another rock group, I don't really follow what they are releasing now. You can check : Lola, Butterfly, Travel the World, Addictions, Apprends moi, Mes défauts, Je reste encore, C'est pas comme ça...

Also gotta out myself to my french followers as I used to be a big Kyo fan during my emo phase lmao. They are not a emo band but they were there during the emo eras and most of their texts are sad af lmao.

If you want to feel included in the middle of french millennials just learn the whole lyrics of Dernière Danse, we all go batshit crazy when this song starts playing. Also check : Le Chemin (we also go insane for this one), Je cours, Chaque seconde, Pardonné, Je te vends mon âme, Dans ma chair, Sarah, Sad Days, Ce soir (honestly just listen the entire albums 300 Lésions & Le Chemin I love every song), Comme des frères, Le Graal.

Mylène Farmer, I'm not a die hard fan but still I would love to see her live cause she's famous to put on the greatest show. This woman is kind of a legend. She revolutionized music videos, and she has an aura... you either love her or you hate her tbh. She has a very special kind of voice and people don't like her cause she sings A LOT about death, but she also sings very explicitly about sex and non gender norms.

Check: Pourvu qu'elles soient douces (the music has a 20 minutes clip and it's the one that revolutionized the music videos), Sans Contrefaçon, Désenchantée, Ainsi sois je, Les Mots, C'est une belle journée, Dégénération, Oui mais... Non, California, L'âme-stram-gram, Innamoramento, a personal favourite of me: it's a Baudelaire's poem she put into music (I'm a big Baudelaire's poetry enthousiast).

If you're into rap, then absolutely check Diam's. Again she came from my teen years, she doesn't release music anymore, she chose another path. BUT she is very important to the rap scene in France. She is the first female superstar rapper here and everyone still respect her today (if they don't, don't trust them). She was walking in the middle of a male field with basically her talent and her spite and that's all. And most of the french women of hip hop wouldn't be here today if she didn't path the way. Again, I'm repeating myself but more of her texts are not very joyous lmao. She also talk a lot about France's society racism and sadly, currently listening to her in 2022 and well... it's still very true...

Check : La Boulette, Jeune demoiselle (definitely not a deep text but a veryfamous song of her), Parce que, Cause à effet, Dj (another french millennials karaoke moment lmao), T.S. (definitely her most heavy song it's about her suicide attempt), Marine (this one is about Marin Lepen a french far right politician that has been now multiple times in the second turn of presidential elections), Ma France à moi.

You can search "variété française" if you want to listen to all of our classics from the 80s (or before) to the 2010s. Basically I don't really listen to a lot french music but when I do it's probably classified as "cringe" and "old" by everyone else lmao. I kinda stopped following whatever music has been released after the 2010s.

ok hii sorry this took some time but here are a few (a lot actually) french speaking music artists & bands me and/or my family listens to :^)

first of all theres all of the classic Chanson Française from the 60s-70s-80s with Charles Aznavour (La bohème), Dalida (Mourir sur scène), Claude Nougaro (Armstrong), Alain Bashung, Edith Piaf or Jacques Brel

in france weve also got a pretty big rap scene starting from the 80s, though these are mostly from the 2000s-2010s : MC Solaar, Stupeflip (Stupeflip vite !!!), Oxmo Puccino, Népal, Maître Gims (arguably in some cases hes more pop than rap + for a long time hes been kind of dismissed as just music for 10 year olds BUT he has a really great voice and my brother really likes what he does so), or Orelsan (whos also part of the Casseurs Flowters with Gringe)

and here are some?? other people in no particular order sorry idk how to describe music jgdigd : Bérurier Noir (80s punk), Mylène Farmer (icon for lesbians), Indochine (L'Aventurier) (i literally wouldnt listen to anything else when i was 6), Noir Désir (L'homme pressé) (uhmm i really do like some of their stuff However i feel the need to warn you that the lead singer huh. killed his wife. like he went to jail for it & all. i mean i dont think you were gonna do that but just in case uh dont give them your money yk), Téléphone, Les Cadavres (punk also), Stromae (u probably know him already), and finally, these next and last ones are all things my dad listens to that i dont necessarily know that much so i dont really have anything to say abt them : Leonie Pernet, The Liminanas, Feu! Chatterton, Jeanne Added, Louise Attaque, or La Femme

Le chanteur d'Indochine, qui menace la ville de Perpignan et son festival Les Déferlantes de ne pas venir jouer si le festival ne change pas de ville (car la ville a un maire RN), "Nicola Sirkis", s'appelle en réalité Nicolas Sirchis. Se donnant des airs grecs car les noms français seraient rances, depuis des décennies. Il est vrai que "chis" dans un nom peut être disgrâcieux, mais ce n'est pas non plus rédhibitoire. On voit à ce genre de détails assez savoureux, puisqu'en quelque sorte nous avons là un sire qui chie sur le peuple déjà nauséabond, que la haine anti-RN ne vient pas de nulle part chez ce sire "contre tout chacal", "vrai héros de tous les Temps" égaré dans la vallée infernale du Sud haineux et voulant sauver la France des crocodiles par un acte de bravoure inouï. Evidemment, suite aux menaces minables d'Indochine, on se déchaîne (à juste titre) contre le groupe, et (comme d'habitude, par idiotie de la colère) contre sa musique, tout à fait honnête et sans laquelle il n'y aurait jamais eu la remarquable reprise de L'Aventurier par Nada Surf il y a vingt ans. L'actrice Marina Foïs est une collabo, c'est donc une "actrice minable", idem pour Omar Sy qui est un militant "antiraciste", mais on ne dit pas que Thuram était un mauvais footballeur, car les qualités sportives sont plus difficiles à nier surtout quand on a donné pour la France comme en particulier au mondial de 1 998.
