The selection of the Swedish Frida Johansson two posts before and its unbelievable almost...100 000 notes (!!!!) is the opportunity for me to speak about a problem. It deserves to be in YWAMag and that’s why it is here. But, without any offense to Frida, a very good Swedish photographer who has often been in the mag for years, it has nothing revolutionary. I’ll take several brilliant photographers who are on Tumblr and who have big YWAMag galleries :
-Me (sorry ! By the way, you haven’t seen me in the mag since a Tumblr change about 4 years ago for a technical reason) : I have never had more than 200 notes or something like that, during my first Tumblr years (2 015, mainly) when I was not boycotted yet especially by Lensblr, so my rare selections there reached that score. My notes’ amount is usually between 25 and 80. I have exhibited about ten times, in 4 capital cities. This to say that Tumblr/web success has nothing to see with real value, and with the stuff you do for your professional work and recognition.
-Peter Solarz (USA) : his Tumblr has started to have success only about three years ago, with some images reaching thousands of notes, always processed nature images. A specific photographer like me, not aiming what is called the extraordinary, but mainly composition and to transcend the things people don’t see.
-Purple Time Space Swamp (USA) : as Peter and me, based on composition. Unknown here and there, except by the mag. Usually has between 0 notes and 5.
-Peter Pollmanns (Dothob, Germany) : comparable to all of us, especially to me and Peter. Brilliant, kind of same notes’ ratio as me. Counter-example : the young Finnish Mila Mai, spectacular landscapes, huge amount of notes, often thousands. Harassed by a young Finnish looney, finally erased her Tumblr and disappeared about three years ago. It seems that she came back with a pseudonym but I couldn’t swear. Basile Pesso - YWAMag director since 2 014

My current exhibition in Barcelona, in the central borough of Gràcia, in the design shop Aixo where my wife Anne Pangolin Guéno (The Soft Pangolin) is also represented with design items since Summer 2 018. She is, by the way, present in several images. Has started at the end of May, and will approximately keep on until the end of the year, maybe more. Thanks to Belén Garcia at Aixo ! End of the road, kinda...
Hey, folks, just a wee note to let you know that this blog has reached its natural conclusion, something I had planned on doing after the changes in Tumblr’s content policy last year.
The queue has now been depleted, and no more posts will be forthcoming. It’s been a wonderful, interesting, sometimes perplexing few years here on Tumblr, and I have made so many great friends from all around the planet, as well as encountered a wealth of talented artists. It was a pleasure to see your work on a daily basis and watch how everyone’s work evolved over time.
That said, I will be leaving the blog here, rather than deleting it as I had originally intended to do. If you want to stay in touch on Tumblr, you can follow me over at mitch-cullin, where I intend to post more recent images and 35mm work from the past 30 years that I have yet to scan. You can also connect with me via Instagram @mitchcullin1.
Lastly, regarding the Yes We Are “Magazine” issues. I am still processing a lot of the messages many of you have sent me. For those who have asked that I keep their names & messages confident, don’t worry. There are a few things in the works to unmask ol’ Basile for the fake that he is, but it will be a while. I have been contacted by two outside people who have taken an interest in the weirdness of the Tumblr photographic community, and I will continue to help those individuals in their different investigations. It should be interesting.
Otherwise, that’s it. Have a great 2019, and I’ll see ya around when I see ya.

Hi to all, The staff is so incredibly stupid that the new tool they just implemented puts the large white (or black, etc) spaces all around the images even when we reblog in the archives BEFORE their new editor. Precisely this morning I wrote a text, again, to show the difference between for example Lensblr with the new editor and YWAMag. I explained that most of you absolutely don't see the difference, and are not interested in any global and aesthetic view of the curating sites they're selected on. For example, most of you don't see that now the aspect of Lensblr is ridiculous when it was superb before. I don't want this for the mag. This staff is totally obtuse in addition to being politically extremist. Unfortunately, we will now only function by sent images upon request - but you can also propose some images. This will enormously increase the time spent in private messages and I don't really have the time for this - and most of you just want to be reblogged, and don't want to spend time sending images and even answering messages asking them for this or that image. In the last days, again on my main Tumblr (here), I explained why Tumblr is in a problematic financial situation and that they are trying to have a new whore-oriented axis (see on top of our dashboards, for fuck sake ! This is fucking prostitution), coupled to the usual techno changes to "refresh" editors which were perfectly functional - in opposition to this new catastrophic editor. I'm not gonna wait for months for a correct answer from this staff which belongs to a platform that has showed for about 15 years that they were exclusively serving the ultra-left, almost islamist agenda, mixed with high pressure LGBTQ+++++ propaganda - the usual aberrant mix. Therefore, YWAMag will just have a few posts per day - more if you are many to understand the problem and to help make the mag live with the right aesthetics. YWAMag on Tumblr has been a great 8 years daily adventure, with more than 50 000 selections - but stupidity and incompetence are now seriously hindering it.

Bugs + Prostitution : the New "Left-Wing"(Looooool !) Tumblr Choices
Message of a few days ago (without answer yet) to Tumblr : Hello, it's again about the new posts' editor.
I have started back posting new images on my main Tumblr (and don't tell me to contact you from there, the account is linked to a mailbox which has a technical problem) after 2 months of reblogs because I didn't want to use this new editor (see our previous exchanges).
The new problem is that I want to post with titles in medium size and the rest small size. It's extremely hard, sometimes it functions sometimes not.
I spend 20 minutes making one post, easily double the normal time.
Please don't tell me that I don't do things well. Many people told you this new editor is problematic, even passing the arrow on something to highlight an item, or to copy-paste one, is not normal and you know it.
I'd like a solution for this size problem at least, and the easiest one is that we have the right to USE THE OLD EDITOR which was flawless. ---
Addendum of today 05/09/23 : and there is even more : EVERYTHING BUGS and it's unbelievable to launch a new toy - to replace a PERFECTLY FUNCTIONING ONE - without having made it functional. There is this, and there are the bitches on top of our dashboards, selling their fucking charms.
i know you need money. I know you wanna reverse - without telling that Basile Pesso had warned you ten times in public about the exact reason of this D'onofrio choice - the catastrophic Muslim-oriented policy on nudes implemented by D'onofrio almost five years ago, that almost made your - and therefore, our - ship sink like a Titanic of the web. You just chose prostitution. And artists will go away. BP.

Echo and the Bunnymen, The Killing Moon, Live (no date)
Malgré le talent de Thom Yorke (le génie du groupe est pour moi Johnny Greenwood), il faut dire que Creep est pompé sur Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay d'Ottis Redding et Sea of Love de Phil Phillips, et que My Iron Lung est pompé sur The Killing Moon.
Cherchez les partitions et vous verrez...

REM, Murmur and Carnival of Sorts, Live 1 983 (USA)

"On this date in 1983, R.E.M. released their debut studio album MURMUR, (April 12, 1983).
NOTE: The video here features RADIO FREE EUROPE from MURMUR and CARNIVAL OF SORTS (the third song on the band's 1982 debut EP Chronic Town)
40 years after its original release, MURMUR is still fascinating in its eerie sense of musical space.
Back in 1983, REM were most often compared to the Byrds, and thanks to Peter Buck's ringing guitar on songs like ‘Talk About The Passion’, ‘Catapult’, or ‘Sitting Still’, along with Michael Stipes' lead vocals over soaring harmonies, it was easy to see why.
But that was merely one influence, and a misleading one at that, because with no one source dominating, R.E.M. faintly recalled a host of mid-'60s L.A. bands from The Leaves to "underground” faves like Kaleidoscope, David Lindley's first band. R.E.M. might have thoroughly transformed their influences but the result sounded both familiar and wholly original.
Murmur's oddness was affecting because it wove itself around structures and riffs that sounded familiar – a strange system hum, for instance, winds itself up into the catchiest opener, RADIO FREE EUROPE.
In these efforts, Buck's guitar solos were capable of breaking through the mix and soaring, and any band that could come up with melodies this rich knew a thing or two about pop music.
The lyrics, however, were a flight of ideas from the mind of a meditative 23-year-old. Trying to unravel them, it still feels as though you're divining the deepest of riddles for meaning.
“Early sessions for the album with Stephen Hague, the synth-pop producer who later worked on New Order's True Faith, were quickly rejected, and American producers Mitch Easter and Don Dixon were brought in instead,” wrote Jude Rogers for Word in 2009.
“They seemed to understand that although REM had the rhythms of rock, the jangle of the Byrds and the raw grit of Gang Of Four in their belly, they also needed to create a sound-world of their own. Easter and Dixon brought in strange noises – bangs and bells — and recorded instruments at varying distances from the microphone, so you couldn't place where the ghostly figures were coming from.”
“At the album's centre point, like a pearl in an oyster, is a song that tells us as much about REM today as the REM that existed a quarter of a century ago. This is 'Perfect Circle', a masterpiece of simple melody and melancholy, and one of the few REM songs to be attributed mainly to the band's former drummer, Bill Berry, who also wrote most of 'Everybody Hurts'.”

Supergrass, Mary, 1 999
Jamiroquai, Deeper Underground, Live (no date)

Hi to all, Very numerous persons (about one thousand) here and there have recieved serious slander about me by my wife and collaborator Anne Pangolin Guéno (The Soft Pangolin), disappeared two years ago, having stopped her career, having destroyed many of our collaborations and our relationship with many partners. Under guardianship, has lost her mind. Am in daily contact with her but refuses to get cured. Has started the slander back recently, towards women of whom she's jealous. JUST DON'T BELIEVE HER, don't unfollow me, dont block me, dont' stop talking to me. BP.
