Because they are extremely lazy.

When they started, they went for something more original with the Kallters, but like someone mentioned, it wasn't an easy task to write them and their culture, places, when they aren't supposed to have been influenced by others. So, instead of thinking "Oh but they kinda look like the water tribes of ATLA, we already *cough* copy *cough* were inspired by other works so why not doing the same for the Kallters and offer our players something different? " they just get rid of everything. That meant that the valley wasn't an important place anymore, that they wouldn't have to work on Ashland, or make more quests for the place.

And they knew that it'll please the lazy impatient players who didn't want to have to do the reputations for having the fjords.

I’m still confused about the old fjords. Last time I was confused about them retiring it was because months after that, no other horses were getting retired and the only response was “All old horses are getting retired eventually, the fjords just happened to go first” but like.

Why so early? Why soooo much sooner than all other crusty horses? There was a very solid gap between the fjords disappearing and literally all other horses, months if not like a year between the fjord and the second horse to get retired.

Why specifically the fjords? Did it have to do with the Kallter? Why did the Kallter have to go?

I feel like something was meant to happen and in true sso fashion. It didn’t.

i want to ship my oc and my gfs oc but they just dont work together well and its sad.... all i can get is this unrequited crush from juni to yasmine but thats it

it doesnt help im in the 1% of ssoblr whos not personally attracted to yasmine the oc (hes a good chara but not my type) so its like, well i can make juni or her brother or both attracted to him thats fine but i dont have any actual motivation about it beyond "i want to make our charas feel things together" so if the ship doesnt work both ways it just becomes boring for the most part (sometimes i like the whole unrequited love thing, but not when im feeling sad about not having any ships to care about)

and if i wanted to just ship stuff in general theres just not any interesting enough charas in sso anyway that are my type and would be interesting with my ocs.... ydris is cute (warning! im pansexual but mostly attracted to women atm and dont need judgment just bc i like some random made up characters thanks :3) but he doesnt fit with my ocs. alonso is also cute but again not for my ocs. i vaguely liked rowan when they were introduced but their whole "im here to say random australian things" writing is so bad that its hard to care about them, i wish they had some kind of interesting character shit going on in an ongoing storyline. honestly all the wildwoods rangers were cute and i wanted more characterisation and story and development from them. syntax is vaguely cute too. i wish they added some nb characters that werent the skinny androgynous-but-not-too-femme thing.

and i cant make a more direct self insert to ship with charas that are my type either bc i would feel too much like its cheating kfdhjgdkf i only feel ok with that when its very direct projection between the charas and my irl relationship......

so yeah shipping vent from person who used to have fun shipping stuff but now suffers from both apathy and lack of characters and ships of interest :(

edit: maybe the solution is forcing yasmin to also make a more direct self insert to sso and then i can ship our jorvergian self inserts

Hooray! Today is the fluffiest day of the year — International Pallas's cat day. Congratulations to all manulovers! 😻

Our favorite manul is one of the oldest Felidae which has survived to this day without changing his beautiful appearance. They shared the planet with saber-toothed cats and outlived many of their contemporaries. Just imagine how lucky we are that we can enjoy living together with this fluffy relict treasure! Thank you to everyone who work to study and preserve manuls in the wild and in zoos 🙏

Not much of Yue, but Koh is on every picture :) all these legs were such a headache to draw...

katara is so fucking funny in “the blind bandit” bc they go to the earth rumble she’s like “UGH men and their VIOLENCE…. so uncouth and distasteful and uncivilized,” and obviously she’s just being used as a mouthpiece through which to establish toph’s whole deal. but like. not two minutes ago she was literally freezing two boys to a wall, just because she can, with the biggest fucking smile on her face. so violence done between consenting parties for sport and entertainment is bad, but wreaking wanton havoc on strangers for no good reason is fine, actually?? girl get ur story straight!!

i’ve been working on leveling up my australian account and omg the way i was shocked at the fact i completed the bridge to jarlaheim in ONE DAY??? it literally took me months when i did it on my main account years ago. MONTHS

Everyone talks about how Appa is apparently obese for a sky bison and Aang is over feeding him. Undeserved in my opinion (hes just big boned obviously)

But nobody talks about how Druk (Zuko's dragon) is a complete fatass compared to other dragons.

Do you see how long and noodley they are. They're actual dragons too, not Wyverns like GoT dragons. (Note the 4 legs)
