My headcannons of my favorite characters being terrified of spiders
Daredevil/Matt Murdock
(After he told them he was daredevil) whenever he senses a spider in the office he’ll immediately go to Foggy or Karen and point out where it is exactly and be like “remove it immediately try not to kill it..”
Yes his no killing rule applies to spiders.
(Not a spider headcannon but i can’t just not include it) That rule applies to flies too. He’ll trap them in a cup or a bottle and then send them out. Sometimes they fly back in and he’s stuck in that cycle until it flies away.
When he senses a spider at home he’ll immediately hone in his senses on it and monitor it to make sure it’s not coming towards him. He can be occupied by that for hours.
Tries to focus his senses on other things like Karen or Foggy.
Hears stick in his head telling him to “man up” and that “it’s just a stupid bug matty. don’t be such a wuss.” He feels down for hours after that.
Foggy
Loves spiders. Absolutely adores them.
(idk how college dorms work but,) He would’ve kept a spider as a pet in college but Matt was very resistant. They tried for a compromise but Matt said he would ask for a new roommate if Foggy got a spider. Nothing personal Matt just wouldn’t be able to handle it. Foggy was put out by that but they were fine the next day.
Was the designated spider person as a kid. Was definitely called over to kill a spider multiple times a week. His answer was always “I’ll just let it out” and proceeded to pick it up with his bare hands..[me- shuddering at the thought. my dad does that. literally how??]
Subtly (AND FONDLY) makes fun of Matt’s fear of spiders in casual conversation sometimes. Just drops a “only way to get Matt out of the office is to mention that there’s a spider in there.”
He especially likes to bring it up when Matt is flirting. Just goes “I mean sure he’s super confident and brave until a furry monster crawls onto the table that he’s eating on.”
Bruce Wayne/Lego Batman
Is not afraid to shout “ALFRED THERES A SPIDER IN THE BATCAVE”
Will sprint full speed away from spiders
Has begged alfred to help him create an anti-spider spray.
[honestly i think dick would love spiders too but for this purpose i’m going to pretend he’s terrified of them too] Dick yells for his batdad when he sees a spider in his robin suit thinking that fearless batman could help him..Bruce went down the fireman pole into the cave, saw the spider, and went straight back up the pole. it was Alfred’s job to take care of the spider once more.
His no killing rule does not apply to spiders sorry spiders
At a Justice League meeting he once saw a spider on the table and honest to god threw 5 batarangs at it. The first 4 missed with how sloppily he threw them. The 5th one hit his target exactly. The league stared at him utterly dumbfounded and he stared at them for a few awkward moments before he grinned, then said “I’m batman” and left the meeting. [bro i’m gonna use that for every batman now i don’t care if it doesn’t fit their character it does now.]
Also at a JL meeting there was a spider on his arm and he panicked and wildly shook his arm. The spider flew off and he stared at it before throwing a smoke bomb at it. Once again the league stared at him. Someone muttered “we seriously have this dude apart of this team?” Batman took great offense to that and exclaimed “Heck yeah you got this dude apart of the team! Super epic batman.” he then crossed his arms looking smug and said “batman out” and threw down another smoke bomb.
Oliver Queen/Green Arrow
Spiders just kinda disgust him-especially when he was younger. He’ll immediately kill them on sight.
Back when he and bruce were attending the same school bruce would always ask oliver to kill spiders for him. He would always make fun of bruce for being unable to kill them himself.
Their friendship carried on into their adulthood. After both oliver and bruce’s identities have been revealed to the league batman makes silent eye contact with green arrow and green arrow shoots spiders down for batman.
Oliver once saw a spider in the bathroom on the mirror and without thinking he just straight up shot the mirror. He had no idea how to explain what happened as he was very clearly dressed as a vigilante. He just booked it and prayed no one figured out it was him. (He did bring the arrow thank you very much. He wasn’t that stupid.)
Klaus Hargreeves
Spiders unnerve him especially after he was locked in with ghosts. There were so many spiders in the corners. He tries not to think about that.
Pesters Ben into possessing him and killing the spider for him. Ben always relents and does it.
Will sometimes ask Diego to throw a knife at the spider or something.
Has asked Allison to rumor a spider once. Allison called him an idiot and laughed in his face.
Can sometimes trap the spider in a glass. He had absolutely no idea what to do after he trapped it so he just left it there and put a heavy object on top of the glass to make sure it wouldn’t escape.
Hangs out in the void and absolutely relishes in the fact that he’s never seen a spider in there.
Has asked Luther to get rid of a spider for him. Luther does it everytime. He always says “you need to get over this fear Klaus. You cant let a simple spider bother you this much.” Klaus notes that it was very similar to the ones Reginald gave him.

hi! i'm new to comics and i got in through reading your fics and wayne family adventures. i've since started reading more of the mainstream verse and i realized that most comic fans consider wfa to be totally fanon. you're one of the few i saw that disagrees. would you mind elaborating a lil on why? i'm too new to really form an opinion either way but i'd like to know your's!
(also yes i really did stalk your blog back years worth of posts i'm sorry! 😭😭)
Aw I love this! Welcome!
So I think it's really important to be clear on definitions here:
Canon means it's part of an official text. It's literally in a comic (or book or movie or other property) published or licensed by DC.
Fanon means it's made up by fans. That doesn't mean bad or good, it just means that it comes from fandom and is not part of the official text.
Wayne Family Adventures is an official licensed comic by DC, so by definition, it cannot be fanon. That doesn't mean everyone has to like it, but it's not a fan comic. It's an official DC product. It's not fanon.
Now, WFA isn't part of the main DCU canon. It takes place in a separate universe. The Jason in Batman #138 and the Jason in WFA are not the same and they are having very different experiences. (And I'm sure the Jason in WFA would be grateful if he knew.)
But that's no different than a comic that takes place in an alternate universe, like Dark Knights of Steel or DCeased, or a movie like Blue Beetle or a show like My Adventures with Superman. They all take place in their own universes, but all of those universes are canon. None of them are fanon.
What I think most people mean when they say WFA is fanon is that WFA draws on tropes and characterizations that are popular in fandom. Which...yes, absolutely. This is on purpose, and honestly, it pisses me off when people complain about it. (Not you, anon! Your question was lovely, you just triggered my unskippable cut scene of dialogue. Sorry lol.)
Wayne Family Adventures is probably the single best idea DC has had in the 20 years I've been reading comics. (The second best was the kids and YA graphic novel lines.)
I just checked, and WFA has 1.3 MILLION subscribers. That's more than every floppy comic starring Batman sells in a month, combined. It's more than literally any superhero comic has sold in decades - in this century! The combined strips have over A HUNDRED MILLION VIEWS. That is bonkerstown. That is a readership like DC hasn't seen since the 1970s. That is unparalleled success, and it's introducing characters like Kate Kane and Duke Thomas to a whole new audience.
Now, WFA was clearly designed to appeal to Batfans who were active on social media and fanfic sites like AO3 and Wattpad, and Webtoon readers. The readership of Webtoon is mostly young and female. Fandom as a whole is mostly female. The writer of WFA is female.
And maybe I'm not being fair here, but when I see people dismiss WFA as "just fanon," I always catch a whiff of "It's not a real Batman comic. It's a girl comic for girls."
I have spent the past 20 years begging DC (and Marvel, DC is not alone in this) to see women as a viable audience - as their largest potential growth audience! I have watched in dumbfounded frustration as they ignored the juggernaut success of Raina Telgemeier and Ngozi Ukazu and Alice Oseman running rings around the NY Times bestseller list and counted a 50k shipment here and there as a resounding triumph. I have literally seen them throw out survey responses from women because "those women had an agenda." (This is a true story. 2011 was rough, y'all.)
And all of a sudden, they gave us a comic actually catering to women and young people and fandom, and they put it on the most popular, current, modern platform for comics availably - and it's brilliant. It's smart and funny and stunningly drawn and every episode makes clever, inventive use of the scrolling format. They FINALLY gave us a girl comic for girls, and it's a masterpiece.
And yes, it riffs on fanon concepts. It also has its roots firmly in mainstream DCU canon. It references deep cuts. CRC Payne and StarBite know their shit. Jason Todd being a bookworm may be a fanon staple, but he does plenty of reading - including Jane Austen - in the 100% canon mainstream DCU comics.
It's not going to be for everything, because nothing is. It's completely fine if you don't like WFA. No one has to read it or enjoy it. If you're into Batman for the darkness and the crime and the ongoing plotlines and the angst, WFA won't be for you, and that's totally fine!
But to finally, finally be valued as a reader by DC, to have them do something smart and innovative and so, so well executed, and have the exact people they made it for dismiss it out of hand because Bruce has a "World's Okayest Dad" mug or whatever? Yeah, that chafes.

DCU from a Marvel fans limited perspective
recently i've accidently been sucked into the DCU universe, mostly Bat family, if i'm being honest, and although i've never watched a single movie/episode, this is what i have gathered from purely reading the occasional fanfiction/lots of tumblr posts
SPOILERS i guess
There are A LOT of batkids
Bruce Wayne adopts these motherfuckers like they're some kind of limited edition pokemon set
no one is actually sure how many there are but if you have black hair and blue eyes and live in gotham, Batman doesn't care if you've got parents or not. you're coming home with him
There appears to be five Robins and Batman goes though these children like a chainsmoker with a pack of cigarettes
people die a lot
Thats okay though because people come back to life a concerning amount as well
Jason Todd died and came back to life by being dumped in a pit of magical water
Damien Wayne is the only biological child of Bruce and he mentions this a lot
Dick Greyson was the first Robin and the first adoption and i think he and Bruce got in a fight and he left to become Nightwing
Jason Todd stole the Batmobile's wheels and became the second Robin. after he came back to life he became Red Hood
Tim Drake was not an orphan, he just fit Bruce's target demographic and was conveniently close (I mean come on, it's like express shipping) He is also some kind of super-genius. He was the third Robin but became Red Robin/Drake
Stephanie brown(?) was the fourth robin(?), not sure for how long. People get upset when other people forget. I think she's called Spoiler or something
Damien Wayne is the final Robin. Hes this assassins son and im pretty sure Talia dropped him off at the Wayne Manor and said, "I had him through the terrible twos, you get the teen years'
Not entirely sure if Tim runs Wayne enterprises
Brucie wayne is the funniest fucking thing i swear
He's so stupid
not sure is Tim, Dick and Jason follow Bruce's lead and become absolute airheads as well
Alfred is a butler
Alfred has guns
There's someone called Duke and Cass knocking around
The Justice League think Batman works alone
someone in the JL is allergic to the colour yellow
there is a concerning amount of Danny Phantom x DC crossover fics
sames goes for Miraculous
Tim Drake is Bi and for some reason people don't like that
internet is divided on whether of not Batman is a bad dad
#OnlyInGotham is a thing?
Gotham is like an australian NYC
the Riddler is a not funny, less aggressive version of the Joker
apparently Alcatraz and Arkham are different prisons but thats on me
there's a whole group of superheroes out there, each have strong powers and they decide to leave the most dangerous city to the member that has no powers and dresses up as an anthropomorphic bat and runs around the city causing copious amounts of property damage with his children
there is a girl called barbra? Gordon
there is a criminally small amount of content for the girls
for some reason people ship the bat kids together, ike, anytime you have to remind yourself 'its TECHNICALLY not incest is Not Good'
Clark Kent is running round acting as if his reading glasses are the only thing standing between a normal life and CHAOS and the worst thing is that he is right
i am a MCU fan and i was SO sure that Deadpool was MCU but now i'm not so sure
Fandom likes to have this troupe that Bruce wayne doesn't believe batman exists when obviously the superior troupe is that Gotham is pretty sure they are exes
teen titans and young justice are a thing but i cant figure out which robin is who.
Damien Wayne has enough animals to open a zoo
who tf in the batfam are metas?????
Batman has definetely used the Tired Dad voice on villains and the Brucie Wayne voice on the JL
Bruce Wayne has contingency plans if someone discovers his contingency plans
THERES A PLACE CALLED THE FUCKING BAT BURGER???????
it took 2 robins until batman realized that a small child running around in a vest top and speedos was not the greatest idea
Someone needs to tell me, like right now what's going on, where to start and what to read. bc rn im LIVING on chaotic fics

Do you have a dislike for media universes that "rewards" people for watching/reading all of it in general?
Or do you think there is one that executes that idea well?
I'm answering this 5 months late, but I'm pretty sure I still remember this ask being prompted by a post making fun of the MCU.
Do I dislike story universes that reward people for reading all of it? Not at all. I mean, I'm a fan of both Middle Earth and Star Wars, I fucking love big, big universes with plenty of stories in them. When they intersect in some small way it's a delight to me, I love those little personal winks from the author for having read their other works or recognizing the most obscure names only a nerd would know.
However, there's a difference between a little reference in a story meant for people who can connect the dots, and making something almost required reading for your enjoyment. It's the difference between an acknowledgement from the creators that you liked the setting enough to come back for a new yet familiar ride, and a company realizing they've found their cash cow and can't wait to milk it for all its got until it's dead.
And dead the cash cow will be, eventually. It's been said before that the reason why the Big Two of western comics have ceded more and more ground to manga over the years is that Spider-Man has 10 different starting points while Naruto starts with Volume#1. That's not just a funny joke. Onboarding new readers has genuinely been Marvel and DC's problem for decades, which is why it was both incredibly predictable yet shocking all the same that this is what the MCU turned itself into.
Sure, early on you could ask the audience to watch a couple movies before the big Avengers crossover, but now they've got all these TV shows on top of the movies that you have to watch in order to "catch up", and it's not even about the cool characters anymore. More and more of their fanbase is going to stop caring once the barrier of entry gets too high, and it's ridiculous to me that Marvel went this road with their movies when they know this is what happened to their comics first.
I mean, are you serious, their next big bad is Kang? I am not watching several TV shows and an Ant-Man movie that's somehow worse than the second one all to see how the currently left Avengers meet goddamn Kang the Conqueror. He's in both the TV shows and the movies, which means they're somehow giving Kang more buildup screentime than Thanos. Why? Either I've been extremely out of touch with Marvel comics or the MCU picked a wild choice to headline their next billion dollar franchise when Doctor Doom is actually available to them now and barely needs an introduction.
Sorry, got lost for a bit. Back on topic, yeah I know I know, all art right now exists under capitalism which means every setting that becomes a wider story universe is an author trying to milk their existing fanbase. Whenever a creator makes a thing that I like, and then announces they have a new thing set in the same setting as their first thing but isn't a direct sequel so they can keep gaining a new audience while keeping their existing one, I know I'm being suckered in.
Just, don't make it so blatant. And don't make it so hard. I am the exact target audience for these shenanigans and even I'm starting to feel like it's homework because it's all fucking required now.
If I, a lifelong Star Wars fan, want to watch the newest Star Wars thing, I have to see a hundred hours of other Star Wars media first. If I want to watch The Mandalorian Season 3, I can't just have seen Season 1 and 2, oh no, I have to also see The Book of Boba Fett too, because halfway through that show became The Mandalorian Season 2.5. Well I did see Boba Fett, and the combination of my dislike for turning it into required homework AND the show itself just being kinda dogshit meant I never touched season 3 of the Mandalorian. That show used to be so great because it wasn't tied down to any existing story arcs or characters, so it stood on its own and made for an amazing watch no matter how much Star Wars you've actually seen. And then it succeeded and so had to become the new spine for the entirety of Disney Star Wars afterward. Fuck. Now if I want to watch their latest show Ahsoka, I have to have seen the Clone Wars animated series AND Rebels, because the Rebels cast are in it too! I mean I did see Clone Wars and Rebels, but that still sucks!
That makes me worried now! Andor was also really fucking good and it stood on its own so hard you didn't even need to see Rogue One, the movie that introduced Cassian Andor in the first place. But now that season 1 was a success and everyone sang its praises, it certainly means season 2 is suddenly going to get real cramped with Ahsoka and Luke Skywalker and whatever guys are currently alive in its timeframe. Shit, they're probably gonna add Cal Kestis in season 2 of Andor. The Respawn Star Wars games are still doing their own thing which means it's time to connect to something else.
I hate what all this has become. It was fun to read the Silmarillion and see what kind of fuckery one family of elves got up to that eventually turned Sauron from minion to big evil eye parked next to evil mountain, but you didn't need to read all that before The Lord of the Rings. LOTR didn't assume you knew anything at all (and oh boy did Tolkien never miss an opportunity to explain shit).
Let me repeat. I am the target audience. I live for the ridiculously nerdy habit of reading things set in the same universe as other things and connecting all the dots. If /I/ feel like it's become homework, I can't imagine what the average person thinks of all this. Make it stop. Stop running everything I once loved into the ground in the name of endless profit. Star Wars was already doing this to itself before the Disney acquisition and yet it didn't feel this bad.

DP X DC WRITING PROMPT #5
(Kinda number five-ish)
Here's a wild idea. Take my Lair of Mystery au + Reaper of Heroes au and combine them somehow. A crossover of crossovers.
Danny is the reaper of heroes and the House of Mystery is still his vacation lair or whatever. However, JLD haven't seen him while on duty as a reaper, just as the King on vacation, so they have no idea that the guy the JL are talking about and their new landlord are one and the same.
The search for Jason happens way before he helps with the world ending threat, but he's been hanging out with the JLD in the House of Mystery longer than even that. The JLD are the ones who introduced him to this dimension in the first place when he found them in his home. He's baffled at how much more dangerous this world is for heroes and villains alike and that's what made him decide to stick around in this particular dimension more often than others. It oddly reminds him of the group of heroes he met who were living in a big tower in New York, but he also recognizes how vastly different the two worlds are.
So not only are the JL hella confused about how they could call the Ghost King, but now they're hella confused on how they're friends with the grim reaper?? Batman is also still hella confused on how they're on friendly terms with a death god, but also that's the guy who more or less kidnapped his son?? And JLD just never told JL?? WHY??
Keeping the age changing ability (inherited from Clockwork) Danny has in the Lair of Mystery au makes it even more confusing cause the JL couldn't really pin down a reliable description since he always switched between the form of a teenager and an adult.
I need to make a master post for all my prompts. This is getting a little out of hand. Also, did I just throw in a possible marvel crossover idea? Possibly? Am I gonna expand on it? Probably not. Maybe. I haven't decided yet.
I'm also realizing that Leslie could be a thing in both AUs now, in a way. That's awesome.

✩ WEEKLY FIC ROUND-UP ✩
All the fics I’ve read and really enjoyed in the past week-ish. Reminder: This list features any and all ratings and themes. Please look at tags and warnings on ao3 before reading.
DC (Batfamily)
Like a Hinge, Like a Wing by Ultrageekatlarge
The problem is that Tim’s spent the past month or so slowly getting murdered.
(AKA, An AU where Jason never went to Ethiopia, and Tim takes a different road home to the Waynes).
B(r)other by snackbaskets
"Why would you do this to me, Jason? Why do you keep hurting me?"
"By eating your hummus? Mostly to fuck wit'chu. A little bit 'cause I like hummus."
"Just piss on my corpse and get it over with."
"Are you two fucking okay?"
The Disastrous Life of Saiki K/ Death Note
Deus Ex Saiki by oatmealcrisp
Ten year old Kusuo Saiki decides he's tired of Kira's shenanigans so he's gonna solve the problem himself.
It may not have been worth it.
Stranger Things
starts with an h, sounds like potential by formosus_iniquis (+ podfic)
Inspired by this post by ruelogy
Eddie knows he got to Hawkins a little later than everyone else. He wasn't born and raised in the six miles of town with the same eight people his whole life. There was a whole social services kerfuffle that meant he didn't land in this small town hell hole until he was the ancient age of thirteen. He knows he's destined to forever be the freaky new kid with the shaved head and the group home eyes who joined in the eighth grade. But even without all that he is fucking positive that there was no Henderson in any of his three graduating classes.
Yet here Henderson the supposed younger sits painting him a mystery week after week. Steve said this, Steve did that, Steve may very well be a delusion if the way the others giggle and sigh every time he gets brought up is any indication.
Marvel
secret keeper by jilliancares
Ellie stares at the new arrival, gaping. All the evidence points to one obvious answer, but this guy looks nothing like the Spider-Man Ellie recognizes — mostly because he isn’t wearing the suit.
“Crappy day to get kidnapped, amirite?” he says, crouching next to Ellie and deftly untying her restraints. “Looks like these guys were amateurs, though. They didn’t even lock the windows.”
(In which Ellie accidentally becomes the one person who knows Spider-Man's identity. She doesn't tell her dad.)
Merlin
Next to You (It's the Rule) by LunaMyLove
Arthur and Merlin have a special relationship. They always have, even when they were prince and servant. While many question it when first noticing, eventually it becomes an understanding in Camelot—and even among some other countries—that where there is Arthur, there is Merlin. And, where there is Merlin, there is Arthur.
Or: Arthur and Merlin's relationship as witnessed and explained by others.
Also, or: Five times someone realizes that Merlin is the Queen, one time Merlin realizes it himself, and one time he owns it.

Hey, I've worked a bit in animation and just wanted to point out that shows very often get pitched and bought out, and can sit in the back burner for a really long time depending on the market! Seems like with all the strikes and post covid lag, and a market thats already saturated with greek mythology atm (think percy jackson live action coming soon, youtube series, other webcomics, etc.), lore olympus is probably floating in the air atm until the time is right. These kinds of things can take years to happen, even 10+ years! Some of the most popular animated shows were pitched years before they were picked up and sent into production. Hoping in the time its on hold, they get some really good writers to clean up the story. I don't mean to disregard your post, but just a lil bit of info on how that nature works in animation. I love lore rekindled too, keep it up!
Oh hey thanks for your input! So I do actually have a diploma in animation (though I never ended up working in the larger industry) so I know a bit about how things like that can happen. Nimona's a great recent example, it was bought in 2015 by 20th Century Fox but never made it through development because of Disney purchasing them and bringing the project to a crawl due to it being LGBTQ+, then they shut down Blue Sky and that kept the project in limbo until it got picked up by a new studio and brought to Netflix. So it took well over 10 years for that one to finally hit the screen.
That said, most of that post is addressing the fact that if LO is going to get a TV show (I'm really strongly believing it isn't at this point, esp not with JHC but that's me) then stalling it out for 10 years or however long probably won't be the best move. Especially not with how things are going with animation at large.
While LO is the biggest on the WT platform, the platform itself still isn't as prestigious here in the west as say, DC or Marvel. Its platform and its comics just don't have that sort of longevity out here. LO is also undoubtedly nearing the end of its run and it's struggling to stay relevant as it is - so to make a show years down the road when it's long gone out of everyone's minds (which it will be as soon as it ends and WT starts shilling the next big thing) just sounds like a missed opportunity. It could rejuvenate interest, sure, but it could just as easily flop due to its fanbase having moved on/lost interest/etc. LO is pretty much reliant on WT's advertising at this point, it's not a good sign that WT has to keep putting notifications to read LO everywhere on the app. WT loooves the "strike while the iron is hot" methodology and now with the show they just drag it out? It feels less like striking the iron while it's hot and more like trying to get a fire going, period.
Like, when Nimona got its movie, it was like "omg Nimona's finally getting a movie!!!" but I can't help get the sense that if LO goes through that same treatment, the response is gonna be, "that gross comic with the underage girl and old man billionaire is still getting a TV show??" Maybe that's a mean assumption to make but if LO is struggling to stay relevant and in a positive light now, god knows what that's going to be like years from now if and when they do release a show.
Especially when it comes to comics like LO which generate so much criticism, I feel like it's going to go through the same thing Twilight did, where people adored it during the peak of its run but as soon as the series was over and the hype left everyone's brains it gave people room to actually reflect on it and realize how icky it was LOL (and if it goes the full way of Twilight, people will read it as a joke over how bad it is).
There are also theories in the community that a lot of what WT is doing with LO rn (paying for Rachel to be in the top billing spot at NYCC, getting her a second Eisner, etc.) could very well be them trying to "shop it around" for investors or a new network, by putting Rachel in the spotlight and going "see! look at how successful this comic is! buy it!" That's just a theory of course, but it really isn't a good look when LO wins awards and people ask why. It feels like WT's is trying to throw money at a problem without realizing what's causing the problem in the first place. It winning an Eisner or being hinted at a TV show or getting a top billing spot at NYCC won't give it legitimacy because the comic they're advertising is still garbage, they're trying to convince people it has merit when it doesn't. If anything, it'll make LO and WT lose even more credibility because it makes people wonder why the fuck a comic like LO is winning those awards and why it's being given more attention and opportunities over other comics on the platform that are far more deserving.
Anyways, this post is kinda all over the place, but that's my two cents, my point really is that if there is a show happening, it's definitely not happening soon (in spite of Rachel saying "yeah it's happening!") because there's no clear timeline or progress that's been made or even team in charge of it at this point - and if it happens down the road, its only chance of doing well will be if it gets a major overhaul in its writing IMO because the comic is way too much of a mess rn for television LOL
That said, I'd love to genuinely believe that the show will happen someday, but I feel like the best time for it to happen has passed, especially with the comic losing the quality and prestige it was sold to JHC for since then. That's just me though.

The current members of The Bane Train and Superheroes that I think match them!
@sparrow-eats-kats - Supergirl (Kara Zor-El) - The Woman of Tomorrow is an absolute powerhouse within the DC Universe that can stand toe to toe with her notoriously powerful cousin, Superman. Sparrow and Supergirl both have life-altering events centering around their childhood being ripped away from them. These events required them to grow up very fast and without much guidance in a brand new world. They both also have to navigate the world somewhat within the shadow and influence of their very powerful family members.
@fiasco-of-freyglen - Human Torch (Johnny Storm) - The hottest-head on the Fantastic 4 by looks, personality, and also sheer temperature, The Human Torch is a near perfect match for our favorite rebellious sorcerer. The match is so good that is almost self-explanatory. But there's more than just aesthetics here, Storm grew up destitute on the streets on NYC after his mom was killed in a car accident and his father kicked him out on the street.
Johnny Goldfiddle - Gambit (Remy LeBeau) - A smooth talking, gambling, hot-head with a southern draw who throws explosive playing cards, wears a weird head accessory, and grew up in a gang of thieves to soon become the leader because the patriarch of the thieve's guild retired. I didn't realize how close these two's backstories were until making this post. The only things separating the two characters at this point is a silver quarterstaff.
@varina-has-a-gun - Wonder Woman (Princess Diana of Themyscira/Diana Prince) - Born from clay in the image of a literal Greek god, Diana has been winning feats of strength and agility since she was born among a lineage of warrior women on the mystical nation of Paradise Island. She had to fight EVERY SINGLE ONE of them to gain the famous lasso and uniform best associated with Wonder Woman. Both are from an alternate world to the mortal plane (Feywild/Themyscira), the two fight and move each step with the force that could move a mountain. They embrace strength wherever they can find it and are foundational in the crossing boundaries to gain new relationships. They both speak with authority and great composure. When Wonder Woman talks about politics, war, battle strategy, or even just breakfast, people most definitely listen. Same thing with Varina.
@bath-creek-lake - Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers) - A air-force pilot given superpowers from an alien superhero's machine explosion made Carol Danvers one of the most powerful Marvel heroes the universe has ever seen. She is a bastion of perseverance and has shot up on the list of morally upright good characters in the Marvel Universe on the level of Spider-Man and Captain America. On teams where Captain Marvel is prominent, she will become the sort-of moral compass to help the team accomplish their goal. She's so steadfast in her morals that she was the opposition to Tony Stark in Civil War II. Lake and Carol both emulate and radiate that every step forward is a step in the right direction.
@lionel-the-librarian - Doctor Strange (Dr. Stephen Strange) - The Sorcerer Supreme (even though by D&D standards he is most definitely a wizard) and Protector of The Eye of Agamotto, Doctor Strange is the most formidable magic user on Earth 616. Like Lionel, he's nosy and witty but makes it worthwhile with his seemingly endless depths of arcane knowledge. They both also have some experience with handling live human organs.

I'm extremely sleep deprived, so here's a ramble abt me starting this account, bc idk, read if ur bored:
Originally, this account had a sister, the original "Evansthoughts" (at the time it wasn't evan, it was my other nickname), where I posted Marauders stuff, and the occasional golden trio gen stuff.
But, one day I had a stupid redacted thought and posted it on what was gonna be my side account "evansotherthoughts" (with my old nickname), with ZERO intentions if actually posting abt redacted. Since this side account was supposed to be for DC, marvel, COD, Criminal Minds, ect.
But whatever first thing I posted actually got a few likes (I think 20-30 at the time? Which was crazy to me) and realized that redacted legitimately has a fandom and decided to post a few things, for fun.
And, ironically enough, the same person I first started following for redacted was MY fist follower, and later my first official mutual (despite us acctually not interacting as much as me and my moots do now).
But I had posted a thing abt wanting to be a teenager in the redactedverse bc I noticed a lot of people on here are minors, are young adults, so I wondered why a lot of the media I personally saw was for like 23-27 age groups (im sure there was stuff, im not original, its just was i usually saw). And that post got 200+ likes and I think it still my most liked post?
So, at the time I decided to post my first acctual post where teenager gor drunk, AND posted a D.A.M.N post abt that as well. And that post (despite me hating it so much now lmao) got a lot of notes.
So, since it was clear people seemed to relate to seeing a reader insert around their age group, I posted abt skipping school, and missing ur bus. And both got a lot of notes.
So around that time I also started taking/getting requests and ideas, ect. And then I started getting followers and had people interested in seeing a teenager in redacted, which I was happy abt bc I like writing teenager (despite my posts being slower rn).
And, ya know, then I started interacting with other people and making mutuals and then getting adopted and making a friend and shit.
So, idk, I think im concerned abt if I ever end up posting other fandoms, like this account was originally made for, people might get mad. Which, I know is slightly uncalled for, bc I posted abt how redacted isn't my only fandom EXTREMELY early on, but idk.
I think it's good to talk abt your concerns abt yourself and ur posts, accounts, ect. Bc sometimes people are scared to grow on the internet bc their known for one thing, and that's not good. Everyone should be able to grow and evolve as a person online and irl. So just remeber you're awesome and amazing <3
Also, I didn't proofread this, apologies

context:
The Reader is an oc but…with your name lol. As a hero, they are a spiritual witch that uses water magick, spellcasting, and herbs to protect others around them. This magick is taught traditionally, and they are very talented with their magick. Born in a plane above another dimensional earth known as Hiyas sa Tubig. However, they have no memories of ever living there. After the plane was devastated with destruction in fire and flame, their Goddess Mayari merged with the last of her followers’ spirit and sent the reader to a safe dimension where they can restart their life safely. But between Mayari truly supplying their magick, the unnatural merging into a mortal’s body, and the magick to conceal all wounds in order to keep them alive, it will only be a matter of time where they—along with their family and friends—realize the truth of who they really are.
This reader is the same for both Marvel and DC fanfictions. The reader is also a person of color, specifically Filipino (Mayari is an important figure to indigenous witches like me), but there is no reason to not be able to enjoy the plots for what they are. :) It’s just that representation matters, even in smaller writing genres like ‘x reader’ fanfictions. Please, however, be respectful to my culture. That would really mean a lot to me. Lastly, the reader is disabled and uses a wheelchair due to the reality of their condition. They do, however, float upright if they are using the full extent of their magick when fighting crime.

Hey Lumi, I have a tiny itty bitty silly question. I am ashamed to admit this (there is no anon option so I have to attach my face here and I’m crying) but all the Star Wars media I’ve been consuming so far is in the form of movies/tv shows/games and fanfiction.
I know, I know. It’s horrible, I should have went straight for the good sources a.k.a comics and books the way I did with Marvel/DC. It’s just that when it comes to Star Wars I have no idea where to start from and I get overwhelmed … Does that makes sense? I guess what I’m trying to ask is… where do I start from?
Because I wanna know EVERYTHING but I wanna read the proper works and not wookieepedia. And I can’t ask my best friend, she will absolutely laugh at me if she has to make me another list with titles to read or important pop culture things to see. You are my only hope.
Tumblr media
Hi! First of all, I am firmly of the opinion that Star Wars generally works best when watched in priority + chronological release order, because the way Star Wars stories often work is that they assume you've seen/read the previous thing to base your current understanding off the other story, even if it's set as a backstory. For example, a lot of people suggest watching the prequels then the originals and I think that undercuts a lot of what you're meant to get out of the story. You're meant to know Anakin Skywalker becomes Darth Vader, that's a huge part of watching the prequels. You're meant to know that Palpatine is going to become the Emperor, there are all these little comments about future plans, you're meant to know what the Death Star is, so when you see the plans on Geonosis, you understand the gravity of what's happening here. This also applies to reading supplementary material, because the books and comics assume you've watched the movies and the TV shows first, often times your understanding of them is based on that knowledge. So, you're doing things right so far! And that's why I usually suggest, whatever you're looking to get into, whatever you're interested in reading, do it in order of release, because a lot of stories assume you've seen/read the stuff that's already released. The second issue is a bit more of a "It depends on what you're interested in!" one because, well, it depends on what you're interested in! XD If you're coming to me, generally, I'm going to assume you're interested in the prequels characters and my list of Must Read materials will cater to that. (I do have a more well-rounded list here, it's a bit old at this point, but honestly I wouldn't say any of the current books have been must reads in awhile, aside from maybe the Thrawn and Alphabet Squadron books. This is slightly more up to date, but has a lot of the same suggestions. XD) My recommendations are: - Darth Vader (2015 - Kieron Gillen) + Star Wars (2015 - Jason Aaron) - These two series are meant to be read concurrently for at least the first six issues, read issue #1 of SW, then issue #1 of DV, then issue #2 of SW, then issue #2 of DV, etc.  They’re events crossing over into each other and are meant to be seen from different perspectives at the same time and it’s still one of the best series the Star Wars comics have had in Lucasfilm canon!  Gillen’s Vader is more the mystical, unknowable nightmare version of Darth Vader and he does an excellent job of getting into that space with the character.  Aaron also writes the original trio really well and it fills in a lot of the gabs just post-ANH so well, this is a great starting place for reading comics.  You get to see Vader’s moment of realization of who Luke Skywalker is and it’s one of the best comic moments in all of the franchise. - Darth Vader: Dark Lord of the Sith (2017 - Charles Soule) - As tempting as it might be to read them in chronological order, I still think release order works better, and this one is set just after Revenge of the Sith and it’s all about digging into the psychology of Anakin Skywalker choosing to be Darth Vader.  Choosing it over and over and over.  This Vader is INCREDIBLY extra, but underneath the hilarious dramatic antics of this series (HE IS SUCH A DRAMATIC ASSHOLE IN THIS SERIES, IT’S SO FUNNY), there’s genuinely a story that looks at how afraid Anakin was to face his own choices, how Vader’s issues are Anakin Skywalker’s issues, how he goes from Anakin to the Vader we know in the OT. This is still my favorite piece of SW supplementary media, but I may be biased. - Shattered Empire (Greg Rucka) - This is a four-issue mini series that’s basically 100% pure connective tissue between the aftermath of Return of the Jedi and where things were headed to in the future.  The entire point is to show a variety of characters and nothing but focusing on the aftermath, rather than too much of a plot-focus.  Which makes it really satisfying, because it’s finally some breathing room for the characters--plus, it has stunning artwork to go with it. - Princess Leia (Mark Waid) - More aftermath, this time focused on Leia’s character in the days after A New Hope and the destruction of Alderaan.  It includes her going to Naboo (though, she can’t figure out too much, of course, there’s some lovely nods to the Force whispering in her ear) and trying to figure out how to be a princess of a world that’s in ashes, and it’s a lovely look at her character. - Obi-Wan & Anakin (Charles Soule) - A five issue mini series set between The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones and when I first inhaled it, it seemed like a bit of a filler adventure, until I went back to really pay attention the second time and suddenly all these connections and all this groundwork was being laid for understanding where each of these characters was coming from.  It’s a fantastic look at Anakin’s doubts about being a Jedi, that he’s planning on leaving, Obi-Wan’s interactions with him over that, and why Anakin ultimately makes the choice to stay, along with so much of Palpatine laying down groundwork to undercut everything the Jedi are helping to teach Anakin.  Add in the most gorgeous artwork you’ve seen, and it’s a hell of a read. - Poe Dameron (Charles Soule) - I really did not expect to love this comic as much as I did, but it’s incredibly good character work for him (the absolute best Poe-related material) and it does a ton to set up and flesh out the story of the sequels (in as much as anything can) and it’s just very, very easy to settle in with and read.  It’s got great pacing and a great plot and was really, really addicting to read. - Age of Republic (Jody Houser) - There are eight issues in this maxi series (and you can go on to read the Age of Rebellion and Age of Resistance comics, they’re in the same format--four issues about heroes, four issues about villains) and they tell stories of various characters and they’re all really solidly good.  My favorite is the Obi-Wan one, it’s another great look at his relationship with Anakin, though, the Anakin one had some great character stuff and the Maul one got me in the feelings place. - Jedi of the Republic: Mace Windu (Matt Owens) - Heads up about this one, the art style is wonky as hell, including some real nightmare fuel Yoda moments, so you gotta power through that aspect of this mini series.  Once you do, though, it’s a stellar look at Mace Windu’s character!  It’s not necessarily plot-heavy, but the chance to understand more of Mace’s mindset, the incredible Jedi he is, the good man he is, how hard he worked to become the person he is currently, all of that was excellent. - Star Wars Adventures - The series started in 2017 and then was rebooted in 2020, all of them are very worth reading!  They’re aimed at a younger audience, so you’re not going to get too much darkness in any of the stories, but that doesn’t hold them back from being some of the best Star Wars comics.  They’re all little stand-alone stories with characters from all across the three trilogies and you’ll get some wonderful stuff, like Luke and Leia on Naboo, Anakin and Padme going to see a play, baby Leia being told about Padme by Breha, Mace Windu rescuing a young Twi’lek child and giving her a pep talk, Rose Tico having adventures, Obi-Wan and Dex having an adventure, etc.  They’re adorable and super fun! - Kanan (Greg Weisman) - While parts of this have been a bit overwritten by The Bad Batch (to the detriment of the story, this version is so much stronger), the Kanan mini series is absolutely stellar for understanding the character, getting to see the prequels Jedi from the perspective of the Padawans, instead of just the Knights, and getting some great worldbuliding and character work.  It’s split between Kanan’s time in his present with the backstory of what happened to him after the Jedi genocide and it’s brutally heartbreaking in all the right places, hopeful in all the other right places, and the artwork is just stunning. - The Clone Wars - Battle Tales (Michael Moreci) - This is in the same vein as the Adventures comics (and may even be under that label?) so it’s pretty light-hearted but it has some absolutely baller comic moments for the clones and the Jedi.  It’s a quick read, but you’ll have a scream of a time doing it! Books are a more complicated issue, because a lot of the Star Wars books have moments of great quotes, but overall aren’t great stories, in part because they can’t do character work in the same way comics can and all the really good stories are being saved for potential TV series, I suspect.  But two books I always recommend starting with are Matthew Stover’s Revenge of the Sith novelization (nobody has ever come close to the heights that book has achieved) and Star Wars: Propaganda by Pablo Hidalgo, which is an in-universe look at the entire timeline (such as it was at the time) and how art and propaganda shaped things and, oh, it’s so good. Other than that, I like the Thrawn books, the Ahsoka book was solid, Bloodline did a lot of character work for Leia in the sequels, the Aftermath trilogy is one I really love but I personally think you almost have to listen to the audiobook versions because the text versions just bored me while the audio versions gripped me, Dark Lords of the Sith by Paul S. Kemple is more “Vader being Vader” goodness, Resistance Reborn was probably the best sequels book for me, I legitimately enjoyed Phasma a ton but given how her character just kind of fizzled out in the movies, I’m not sure how it would stand up without the excitement around her character, and I enjoyed Catalyst a lot, but I’m a sucker for a book that does connective tissue stuff between the prequels and the originals. I also highly recommend looking up “movie” versions of the Battlefront II storyline and the Jedi: Fallen Order storyline on YouTube, both are excellent stories if you’re not into playing the video games yourself.  You won’t get the full experience (you get much more invested when you spend a bunch of hours running around as your character, after all XD) but they will tell you the stories and they’re both very good and you’ll see connections pop up fairly often.  I also loved the Vader Immortal storyline, but because it’s a VR storyline, you’ll probably only find shaky footage of it and that may hit your motion sickness.  Still totally worth it even though I almost (literally) threw up trying to watch Vader be an asshole. That’s a lot to dump on you all at once, but I promise the stuff goes quicker than you’ll realize and this will give you a very solid foundation of having read the good stuff in Star Wars franchise!

The DCeased universe concluded "for now" with DCeased: War of the Undead Gods #8.  Was it a good closeout? Did it do a decent job with Cass in the end?  Well, here are my thoughts...
The opening to this issue just felt so different from the last one. Like, I was on the edge of my seat with the prior issue with it being the "big battle" and so many of the heroes were on death's door (or being infected).
It added to the "OH MY! How are the protagonists gonna win? ARE THEY GOING TO?" Because in the back of my mind I keep thinking of the DCeased: A Good Day to Die #1 had Booster Gold and him fading from time because well, I figured a BAD END was coming.
Tumblr media
But on the other hand, this isn't Marvel Zombies which can be darkly depressing, comical, or both at the same time. But there's usually a negative bit to it. DCeased has always that bit of hope at least.
Not to mention Superman being Superman (until he was infected) and other characters finding new avenues to rise up and save folks (Dinah being a Green Lantern, Cass getting Shazam powers, Alfred becoming Spectre, and Vic getting a Brainiac upgrade).
That's why I enjoyed this alternate horrorfest more because writer Tom Taylor balanced the depressing with the light. Mainly with Ollie/Dinah and Barda/Scott.
To that degree, we got that in this final issue with Damian Wayne stepping up and pulling a prep-time move and beating the odds so heavily stacked against him that his Dad would be proud of.
Tumblr media
I loved that. I loved the callbacks to the first series and giving us that bit of closure with the main cast from the first (the Ollie/Damian stuff?  Alfred, at the end? *chef's kiss*).
To that degree, the series achieved and went out on a highlight. HOWEVER--
---That's the tiny problem.
Tom Taylor expanded so much and added so many characters (whose lives changed majorly) and-- we got nothing with them.
Namely, I wanted to see Vic and Darkseid have a proper end as they along with the Black Racer were the catalysts for the Anti-Life virus spreading.
And everyone but Vic feels like a footnote.
I mean the whole Damian twist with Vic was a good one. It just feels a bit empty. I was expecting either Anti-Life to win or see a full-on "happy ending" to those who survived.
We sort of got that with Barda/Scott reuniting with their kid. Kara reunited with her parents.
But... it is the eternal problem with DC Comics as a whole when it concerns itself with Cassandra Cain.
She's the only Bat Family member to survive this series. What we get in DCeased: Unkillables hits HARDER now when the realization hits you only Alfred and Cass walked away from this.
Tumblr media
But we never see her reaction to Damian's death. She's not there with Alfred, and I get it to a degree. But on the other hand, the inner fan in me is screaming, "YOU STILL HAVE CASS!!"
But I digress, there was a lengthy period between Unkillables and DCeased: Dead Planet. Cass's family veered into with Marvel's (Mary), Gordon (Jim), and being there for Rose with her/Jason's kid. But we never saw that.
So the ending feels a bit-- flat to me. Like I'm happy Cass survived and left me all:
Tumblr media
But I feel no satisfaction in that thought. Plus I feel a tiny bit but I feel like the ending could've hit more if Cass was there.
But... that's too much of  post-'09 DC world with Cass. She isn't "Family".
Again it just rings hollow because I got no ending with Cass.
Nor with Lobo getting his end. Or Darkseid with the realization he was but a pawn in a larger scheme.  Then there's Cassie Sandmark too losing Diana and now Damian.. um never mind that icky stuff.
But also Superman (Clark) too. Like we got no finality for Clark/Lois/Jon for me. I mean we sort of got it in #1 of this series, but I just want more finality.
Then there's also the fact that well... we got no real conclusion to the Talia/Steph subplot from At World's End.  Or heck the Flash Family (save for Barry and Max).
Tumblr media
Like why I hate I'm so split because I loved the end but also felt disappointed by it. Because there's still WAAAAAAAAAAAAY too much left on the table here. Plus I dug this universe. I feel there are still A TON more stories that could come from it. Before or after this series.
For Cass, she had a few good moments (being one of the heroes to defeat Anti-Life Darkseid) was a nice surprise.
Likewise, somewhere wherever Lady Shiva's spirit is, she sure be smiling that her daughter be upping her teaching game to now Kryptonians.
Tumblr media
Ironically, I figured the 1:50 variant (that I used to kick off these tweets) would be the ideal ending. That one generation of Justice League heroes was lost due to the Anti-Life virus, but another rose up and hope was restored across the galaxy. It feels more-- poetic.
These are just my thoughts currently, and I know they'll change. I know Taylor admitted he left A LOT on the table and had to cut so much out from this.
But I think it shows WHY he did an exceptional job.
As a reader, I care so much about this world Taylor and all the artists DC got for this series I WANT that ending. I want to see an older Harley/Ivy are up too. I want to see these things we cannot see in the current DCU play out here.
To that degree, I hope he does one more series to give this universe a "proper" end.  Cause he really built an amazing one and truly deserves to close out EVERYTHING he had in those notes.
Again, I'm grateful cause this series stuck so much more a landing over so many issues that I'm at least more satisfied with than say DC vs. Vampires which I could care less if we ever got a sequel again.
That's the sign of a good writer. That they hook you in so much that you're left wanting SOOOO much more. Taylor excels so much playing in the worlds outside the main DCU with Injustice, Dark Knights of Steel, and here.
Even if he'll break your heart. That urge is there.
I'm still grateful for the ride the creative teams gave us and for this Cass to reach this point. I just like any fan WANT MORE! 😅

MYTH CALLS ME LEGEND / bbc merlin
BRING ME HOME / percy jackson
YOU'RE THERE WITH OPEN ARMS / bbc merlin
merlin fandom . . . you will always be famous to ME!
5. DO YOU RESPOND TO COMMENTS?
yes, always (or at least i try).
6. WHAT'S THE FIC YOU WROTE WITH THE ANGSTIEST ENDING?
hmmm . . . WAIT. LAFF. this is so funny because i think it's FINAL GOODBYE, my sole goncharov fic because goncharov dies at the end. fr though, maybe WE CAN MEET AGAIN SOMEWHERE which is a pjo fic where i killed percy off lmao. i have since realized that i apparently don't write a lot of angst . . . an interesting to note about myself for sure!
7. WHAT'S THE FIC YOU WROTE WITH THE HAPPIEST ENDING?
due to the nature of my writing—short oneshots—they all mostly end happily! maybe IN THE NIGHT (mergwenthur with platonic merthur and merwen and romantic arwen) because it was just soft all the way down!
8. DO YOU GET HATE ON FICS?
no, i don't think so.
9. DO YOU WRITE SMUT?
sometimes. the mood just has to strike yk <3
10. DO YOU WRITE CROSSOVERS?
uhh if you mean characters from Fandom A meet and interact with characters from Fandom B then no? i have written fic inspired by other fandoms, but those would be AUs then . . . i'll go with no.
11. HAVE YOU EVER HAD A FIC STOLEN?
not to my knowledge!
12. HAVE YOU EVER HAD A FIC TRANSLATED?
nope. some people have asked though! i was deeply honoured but i like to keep my fics on ao3 instead of any other site and they wanted to post elsewhere.
13. HAVE YOU EVER CO-WRITTEN A FIC BEFORE?
wait. i just remembered, oh my god. SCREAM. does 13 year old me's rp count? because that would retroactively change my answer to the crossover question since i DID do that. it was so godawful and was probably 100k—started out as bbc sherlock fic and then bbc merlin got in there along with doctor who and supernatural and probably every fandom under the sun after that. we never posted that anywhere (thank GOD) but what a time. i don't co-write now. not for any particular reason, but i don't think it's come up.
14. WHAT'S YOUR ALL TIME-FAVOURITE SHIP?
see, this question is so hard because i write and consume so much different media. at the moment, in my current doctor who phase, i'll say tenrose! ask me during a different phase and you will get a different answer hehehe <3
15. WHAT'S A WIP YOU WANT TO FINISH BUT DOUBT YOU WILL?
all of four of them 😭 one reason i write oneshots is because my interests wanes so fast. you'll be hard pressed to find me in the same hyperfixation for longer than a few months, but i always come back eventually. specifically, RENEGADE'S RETURN (dc dick grayson-centric) would be the WIP imo because i posted that with no intention to finish it. all the other ones i had hopes, but this one . . . no </3
16. WHAT ARE YOUR WRITING STRENGTHS?
prose and characterisation. i think i'm getting pretty good at writing in the pov character's voice. like if you take my house md fic and compare it to . . . i don't know my raven cycle fic, i think the voices are distinct enough even with my same writing style:
HOUSE MD: New Orleans sticks to House’s skin. It reminds him of the Philippines. Long days baking under the sun, oppressive heat blanketing his entire body, sweat pooling at the top of his lip. At least when he was in the Philippines, he wore shorts and a tank top to cool down. Currently, there are about three layers on his chest—undershirt, button-up, blazer—and the AC in this place wheezes and puffs out mildly cold air like an overweight asthmatic kid attempting to run a marathon. THE RAVEN CYCLE: Adam Parrish does not have many things. A bare IKEA mattress, various pieces of makeshift furniture made out of cardboard, and a three-dollar rug he found at a sale. It’s not much, but it’s his and he’s proud of it. Sometimes, though, pride doesn’t discount how hot Virginia summers are. His skin is sticky with it, the light cotton of his shirt clinging to him, restlessness twisting under his skin.
i tried to pick two snippets that are generally about the same thing (summer heat!). at least to Me, this seems different enough in tone, but you know. vibes!
17. WHAT ARE YOUR WRITING WEAKNESSES?
my inability to write long form is genuinely not only a weakness but so so so detrimental to me fr. every fic i have written can EASILY be at least 25k EACH. probably more (definitely more) because i write the moments in between or . . . [sigh] let me say this instead. with longfic, there's usually a moment or a scene that you want to get to, the whole fic is culminating to that scene so you write thousands upon thousands of words to get to where the that scene would make sense in context, yes? well. for Me . . . i just write The Scene™
18. THOUGHTS ON WRITING DIALOGUE IN ANOTHER LANGUAGE?
i'd fuck up google translate so fast (and have), so something like "they speak in spanish" or "'hi, how are you?' they ask in spanish" would be preferable to me.
19. FIRST FANDOM YOU WROTE FOR?
definitely pjo percabeth fic at the age of like . . . ten (10). i posted it on ffnet and have since scrubbed from the internet.
20. FAVOURITE FIC YOU'VE EVER WRITTEN?
funnily enough i created a series which is just fav fics that i've written which sounds so egotistical, but whatever. there are 13 works in there, i believe, and most of them are merlin lol. but in recent memory it has to be a tie between JUDAS KISS and THREAD OF GOLD (both arwen fic !!!) because i experimented with my writing sooooo much there, JUDAS KISS being first person and THREAD OF GOLD being second person. i typically write a close third person pov especially for fic. my prose is wired for that, but it was so fun to try to do that for first and second anddddd i got some banger lines out of it so a win's a win!
THREAD OF GOLD: Your father’s presence is larger than life. Larger than love. It looms. It casts shadows long enough to hide every hope and dream you’ve ever had for yourself. JUDAS KISS: All I can think about is Arthur. His rage is fine as a blade, sharpened by the betrayal I have dealt him.

Also, don’t be a hypocrite and read, like, or reblog my shit if your +18 and don’t allow minors on you page; like what’s the point of having that there if your gonna do any of those. I’m being very open and honest about myself with you and I expect the same respect Im giving. You not my mama, so don’t try and act like it.

(In the order above)
All characters except; Momo, Hiyiori, Toshiro (romantically, I can write platonically like friends), Orohime, Neil, kakakura school squad, child characters (Toshiro and Neil fit this for me), Yami, almost all sterwritter except for a handful (request one or message me and I’ll tell you if I do it or don’t). And sometimes Renji (I can only see him with Rukia sometimes).
All characters (If you request Orochimaru imma kill you)

Anal
Not that’s it’s a “No go” for me but I don’t write for things that don’t match me. For example; I will not write for other races or body types. That’s why I prefer to keep all my “y/n’s” either gender neutral, afab, only describing them with black features, or just not describing them at all.
Everything else is pretty much on the table
Lastly, I am in school so I can’t say that my posts will be consistent. But my goal is to try and post an Imagine, Full Fic, and headcanon every week. They all might be on the same day, one on Mon and 2 on Fri, scattered throughout the week. My goal is just to post at least 3 diff works a week. We’ll see cause I might give up 😭. *Update 10/5/23; I realized that I post an Aot fic at least once every week at this point. It’s eqsy for me to write them so it might be a weekly thing. I’m not sure tho let me know what you think*
Prompts and Req are welcomed. All you need to do is tell me how you wanted formatted, headcanon, full fic, imagine or even one shots. Then tell me your idea or prompt. I’m open to making new friends and you don’t even have to req anything, we could just interact. If you are having a hard time finding a post of mine just copy and paste one of the keys provided above into the tags. I also need to figure out how to turn posts into a link. Help plz. THANK U.
- Love, Sosa.
Just as an FWI, this is temporary until I set up a new and improved list. Be a little patient as it it will take a while to do.
Thank you ( ˘ ³˘)♥︎

OKAY THIS IS A BIG ONE, just answer the ones you want to :D
DC (preferably Batman or Green Arrow or Superfam but actually everything) - games, comics, movies, books, fandom
what is your (can be more than one each category):
favourite fan AU
favourite headcanon
favourite female character
favourite male character
favourite comic
favourite canon AU (you know all these Future State and Kingdom Come and Injustice and Arkham verse and all that!!!)
favourite ship (IF you have one, otherwise the ones you can tolerate)
favourite death (if the character died more than in one universe or more than once, specify which death)
favourite powerset
favourite resurrection (LOL, same with #8)
favourite AU villain/antagonist (those who aren't villains but you imagine would be cool villains in your opinion)
favourite canon villan/antagonist (if characters like Jason or Talia then specify which plotlines/comics)
favourite DC loser.
sorry for bad English!!!! have a good day/night
Oh boy, that’s… that’s actually really hard for me. I have a hard time picking favorites, because I generally love things for very different reasons. I know much more clearly what I dislike when I see it; enjoying things is sorta my default state, y’know?
Like, take the AU question. I’d be hard pressed to tell you whether a good Reverse Robins setup was something I liked better than, say, @jube-art’s Superfam/Batfam role-swap (which, if you haven’t seen it, go check it out!)
I’m also working my way through canon chronologically, and am still in the early/mid-90s, so there’s a lot of characters I haven’t officially gotten to, and a lot of stories I haven’t gotten the chance to really dig into yet. (I made it to Knightfall, realized I hadn’t put any of the buildup to that arc in my comic library, and decided to go back and read Barbara’s time with the Suicide Squad instead.) I don’t feel comfortable planting a flag on this until… oh, at least until ~2006, probably. (Which, given just how many books/characters suddenly got added in the 90s, will probably take a while.)
(There are also lots of characters who have so much potential in their backstory/power set, but who never got to use them to their full potential. Or who only had the cool parts of their backstory tacked on as an obvious retcon in the process of writing them out of the story, because the fans were vocally upset about them, meaning they never got the exploration any of those story ideas deserved.) (I have a special level of ire for power sets that are really cool on a surface level, but where the creators added just one power too many to stop them from being fully interesting. For example, Menagerie’s bugs having mind control properties overcomplicates her too much, in my opinion. Or—if you’ll let me hop over to Marvel—a character like Alpha who has all the “standard” superpowers, but only one at a time? What makes that interesting is having to choose between being super-strong or invulnerable or super-fast (etc.) therefore this character should not have ranged attack options built into said power set; it disincentivizes him from ever getting up-close with enemies, forcing the writer to choose between having the character be stupid or having the character never use the interesting elements of their powers. (…I mean, Alpha being stupid is kinda the point of his plot, but you see what I’m getting at, right?))
I will say, I adored Jason’s post-Crisis Robin run (in both Batman series, though for very different reasons) and so far very little has brought me as much joy as reading DC’s Detective Comics from that time period! And those few pages of Dan Mora’s B&W cyberpunk short that went around recently had me absolutely frothing with excitement for the possibilities that verse holds. And Jason being Tim’s Robin brings me endless joy, which neither canon nor jerkfaces will take from me.
(Aaaaaaaand while shipping isn’t the catharsis I come to comics for (thank gods, basically every canon ship I’ve witnessed thus far has been awful in motion even when their potential is off the charts,) I can actually blame DCEU SuperBat for getting me into this whole mess in the first place. Blame @susiecarter, whose fics I found immediately after watching someone do a deep-dive analysis of everything that went wrong with BvS, which I paused when I thought, “Huh, these are actually all really good points… I bet fanfiction has done this exact story, but with much better execution, recognizable characterization, and probably a hell of a lot gayer. Let’s go check.”)
