In the second game mode, you and your partner play football vs the AI

3 attacks kick the ball!

The enemy AI will spawn more and more enemies to push the ball towards your goal

You can attack enemies to stun them, meaning you need a mix of fast redeploys to kick the ball around the map, and some stronger operators able to get into fisticuffs with the powerful enemies being spawned

Enemies will cast skills on the ball. One example was the ball turning invisible, forcing the players to physically block the ball just to reveal it (Silverash, Ines, and Sentinels will probably be able to use their invis removal on the ball)

In this game mode, both players are tasked with defending against one difficult stage together.

Players cannot bring the same operators, so you have to coordinate who brings what Ops

There is a blue and blue-green gate, one for each player. Players don't share lives with each other, (but you probably don't want to let your partner get KO'd and take the stage on alone)

While you both generate DP, you can send DP to your partner, allowing you to put up some very greedy defenses by both generating DP and concentrating it all in one player

After beating a wave, the board gets wiped, forcing both players to reconstruct their defenses again, adjusting to the next enemy wave.

walking into my rhodes island office, hanging up my coat, pushing W and Ines off my desk, wiping off the blood, and opening a message from Kal that says 'kill yourself' and then is followed by 'ignore that last message'. I nod thoughtfully and ignore that last message. I take a sip of my coffee. It's Muelsyse. I spit her out into the sink. I open the cabinet and get a new mug. Ho'olheyak is in the cabinet. I sit down at my desk and respond affirmatively to the email from Platnium asking me if Gravel has been bothering me. (This gets them into a subtext filled deathmatch, which is enrichment in their enclosure.) I respond to Amiya's last cute text emoji with a ':P', which she likes within 10 seconds. I clock out. I get a beer with Hoederer and Pallas. They get into a poetry battle in 3 different languages. 5 minutes of downtime. 6 hours of brooding on the landship considering the burden of the world (in the rain.) Amiya shows up with an umbrella eventually. She asks me how my day was. I say: good.

I'm still a little sad the official English release of Mahoyo removed Aoko directly namedropping Arnold Schwarzenegger as her ideal man when you can still hear her voice actress saying it.

What is Mahoyo or Witch on the Holy Night about?

If you're reading this, there's a decent possibility that you have been told to purchase Mahoutsukai No Yoru, aka Mahoyo, English title Witch on the Holy Night, when it releases for PS4 and Switch on December 8 (and Jan 27 for physical release in the United States)

But what is it about?

It's about her.

If you're familiar with Tsukihime or its fighting game series, Melty Blood, you might know Aoko as Shiki's beloved sensei, or as that weird chick who goes around in a plain white shirt and jeans and shoots beams out of every limb.

Mahoyo stars a teenage Aoko and her two housemates, Alice and Soujuurou.

That's them right there, above the young Aoko turning her arm into a railgun.

The girl on the right is Alice, a witch, while the guy on the left is Soujuurou, a new student at Aoko's school.

Aoko is a daughter of the Aozaki family of magi, sworn to keep the existence of magecraft a secret while training in the family business. Her housemate Alice is a friend of the family who is well-versed in witchcraft, and the two get along fine.

However, Aoko also goes to a school for ordinary people in the day, and it's there that her problems begin.

Country bumpkin Soujuurou enrolls in Aoko's new school with no idea how the big city works, and eventually, circumstances dictate that the responsibility for him falls on the student council president, Aoko.

Forced to take an ordinary (if pretty odd) person into their home, Aoko and Alice must contend with keeping him away from their magical lives, all while balancing school work, friends, and the occasional talk about boys.
