For OFMD Tumblr friends who want a S3 and are scared of Twitter
First, no judgment from me. I very much get it. I resisted Twitter for a long time, and even though I'm now a bit more comfortable on it, it's still not my Fandom Home. There are a TON of valid reasons not to be on Twitter, but if you REALLY want to keep OFMD visible right now and help its chances of returning for a third season, Twitter is the best place to do it. Like it or not, Twitter is still the best social media platform for raising awareness and for instant news updates.
Tumblr posts don't make headlines. Topics that have been trending on Twitter do. And if we want this show to come back, we need to make OFMD impossible to ignore.
By now you've probably seen just how close we came to a S3, and if you're like me, you are RAGING and donning your battle jacket. But I get it can be intimidating to get on Twitter for the first time, so I thought I'd address some common anxieties I see. I'll put below a cut because this got a bit long, but I promise it's a quick read.
I don't know what to say! Where do I even start? That's okay! You don't have to create your own tweets (although it's great if you do). Amplifying other people's posts is also important. Go ahead and like/retweet/reply to other people's posts. This may also help you get an idea of what you may like to say in your own tweets.
Hashtags...yes? Yes! Although don't use too many or you may get flagged as a bot. The biggest one that seems to be emerging is #SaveOFMD. Other popular ones are #RenewAsACrew, #RenewOurFlagMeansDeath, and of course, #OFMD and #OurFlagMeansDeath.
Tumblr media
Should I just be tagging all the streaming services? Per @renewasacrew, no. It's counterproductive. You'll want to tag one streamer at a time and be specific. Below is an example of a tweet I made the other day -- use specific reasons why that that particular streamer may benefit from picking up OFMD.
Tumblr media
I'm scared. People are mean. Yeah, people are mean. But I will say the vibes over at OFMD Twitter are currently the best I've ever seen them. People seem to have united for the greater good and are being overwhelmingly positive and just trying to do whatever we can to save the show. (That said, again, I already had a pretty curated feed, and was very liberal with blocking users/terms I didn't want to see, but I've been able to spend so much more time in the For You tab than I ever have without being jump scared by something.)
But I don't know anyone there! Wouldn't I just be shouting into the void? Not if you use the hashtags! Fans are being really good about following those and engaging with the tweets. Plus, [Stede voice], I'm your friend. I'm xoxoemynn over there as well, I'll follow you back and engage with any of your posts that I see. Plus, what's been REALLY lovely to see is that SO many lurkers have come out of lurkerdom to support the efforts, and they are being welcomed with open arms, so you will not be alone. Again, I am telling you, vibes? Best I've ever seen them.
I can't get sucked into another social media platform, I don't have the time. The beauty here is you don't need to spend a lot of time. I've been on Twitter more in the past week than I have in the entire year I've had an account, and I'm still only on for maybe an hour total the entire day? I open the app, I check a couple accounts, I engage with a handful of posts, and I close the app. It takes all of five minutes. It's an extremely small lift that can have a very big impact.
My bet is on Zaslav expecting us to be upset, and that there may be a day or two of outrage, but then we'd move on. I'm sure right now he's trying to convince everyone that this is a fluke, and that it'll blow over soon. Don't let him win. Keep OFMD in the news. Be loud (but polite) and make Max and other streamers take note of what a passionate, loyal fan base this show has. Make their stocks continue to drop. Make it clear this is NOT just a fluke, it is NOT business as usual. It's a BIG fuck up with lasting consequences.
Twitter, for all its sins, is the best place to do this.
Now let's get our damned show back.

Hello.
Do you think I can request headcanons for Nakamaro ?
Like in an alternate route, reader and him (he's in his twenties because... magic ?) are married and reader is pregnant.
But the funny thing is, Nakamaro can't bully the yokais because reader will exorcise him each time he tries.
Aaaaah I finished writing and only afterwards it occurred to me you might've wanted a modern day reader for this. 😭 I imagined the events in his own timeline. Oh well. I think it can work both ways. Just replace the ancient pouch with, I don't know, a visa card that he throws at your parents for wife payment.
Yandere! Onmyōji x Reader
Yokai Harem AU as the wife of Abe no Nakamaro, a legendary sorcerer and collector of yokai. Although you're not quite as powerless as to not keep his cruelty under control.
Content: female reader, arranged marriage, mentions of pregnancy
[Main Story] [Character Guide]
Tumblr media
Your family had vehemently opposed the marriage. To think their one and only daughter would fall into the hands of such a cruel man. The famous Abe no Nakamaro, descendant of Abe no Seimei himself, has quite a contradicting reputation. He has saved many lives, cured countless illnesses, protected villages from monsters and brought peace to the land. Yet many have also witnessed his ruthless nature: the arrogance he has towards humans, the disdain and utter disgust he harbors towards demons. He is quick to punish, rarely forgives, and never forgets. The yokai he’s captured under a binding contract are kept on a leash, like cattle before slaughter.
It is this man who approached your parents one day, when you were still young, demanding your hand. He claimed you had special powers and a lot of potential under the right guidance. Such spiritual prowess would waste away in a family of plebeians. You don’t remember much of the discussion, only the expressions: the man’s mocking grin as he threw a pouch fattened with coins, the frown of your parents who wanted to refuse, the uneasy, grim eyes of the horned demons brought to intimidate. It was clear they were there against their will. One will find just how difficult it is to go against the wishes of the onmyōji, and you happened to be his most ardent desire. Thus, with a heavy heart, you’d been sent away with the stranger who promised you were to live a life of luxury. One your parents could never afford.
True to his word, you have not struggled since. In Akutagawa’s short masterpiece, Hell Screen, artist Yoshihide is wicked and vicious towards everything and everyone except his beloved daughter. Similarly, the sorcerer seems to have a soft spot for you in particular. He often praises your talent, and patiently caters to your whims without complaint. You once inquired about it yourself, as the idea weighed heavily on your mind: why is it that he does not show the same hostility towards you? He stared at you as if you just grew two more heads. "You're my wife. What else is there to question?"
This favoritism, however, is to the benefit of everyone. Especially to the yokai under his command. You've grown rather fond of the demons in your years spent alongside them, and they've quickly learned that your presence means safety from any punishment. Some need reassurance more than others. To these you've even begun to feel like a motherly figure, shielding them from the wrath of an unforgiving master. At last, an authority even Abe no Nakamaro himself can't disobey: the word of his wife.
And soon enough, as if your marriage wasn't already the ultimate argument, you welcome the return of your husband with the news he's always longed for: you are the soon-to-be mother of his child. His name has just been guaranteed to continue its course through time. To say he is elated is an understatement. You've only seen him smile so genuinely once before in your life, on your wedding day.
"Can you imagine the powers this child will command?" He muses, referring most likely to the fact you've both been blessed with an innate, unmatched talent in onmyōdō. You finish rolling the parchment paper and gently tap his head with the scroll in a scolding manner. "You better not burden the kid with your bizarre expectations!" The same man feared throughout the country is chuckling apologetically at your gesture. "As the Mother says."

Lilia X reader - Rejection
Lilia X GN! Reader -
General warnings: Angst, no comfort (sorry brotha), Lilia rejects your advances after some...slight miscommunication and misunderstanding :(
Lilia is just a poor old fae, who so happened to take what he thought to be a harmless joke too far.
TW: None that I can think of, however, let me know if I missed anything so I can edit this section accordingly!
The red eyed fae had always made it a point to tease you, so much so to the point where you began to suspect his 'teasing' was, instead, flirting. He would always hang upside down, giving you a devilish smile and saying things such as; "Ah, prefect! When are you going to give this poor old fae a chance?" with a chuckle. You always responded with a roll of your eyes and an exasperated sigh, easily hiding the blush beneath your facade of exasperated sighs and rejection.
He had no clue when this time you crossed your arms and replied, "Fine." you meant it full-heartedly, while he only fed into what he thought to be an ongoing inside joke. He laughed about taking you to some lavish date in town with extravagant hand gestures, inwardly chuckling at how he thought he was sounding ridiculous, yet you were listening rather attentively and taking him seriously. You both parted ways to your respected dorms, Lilia failing to notice a very real blush that flared upon your cheeks as he winked and disappeared from sight.
Tumblr media
Lilia hadn't truly meant what he said, he was simply going along with a bit you two had made while gaming at some point. You had known of his age, and made some sort of joke about; "let's get married, so when you die I can benefit from all of your life savings," or something along those lines. He laughed hysterically at this joke and decided to keep the bit going on, unaware of your true feelings about him.
At some point months after you had endured his endless pickup lines and marriage proposals, there you were sitting in pomefiore in front of a mirror where Rook and vil took liberties in dressing you up. Rook had been singing your praises while Vil nodded in approval at his work. He did your hair and light makeup, while Rook had found an outfit that best suited your figure and extenuated your most flattering of features. What you called "too much," they simply said it was necessary to help you 'glow,' as Vil put it. "There, perfect. Now, will you finally tell us who you're going on this date with, that caused you to come begging for my fashion advice?" Vil inquired to you, making the finishing touches to your hair. Rook circled around you in the chair that you were sitting in, admiring the work he and his housewarden had put into your finalized date look.
"Oui!" Rook exclaimed, holding his hands dramatically to his heart, "We must know who took the heart of our beloved prefect before any of the rest of us had the chance!" He proclaimed. You responded in laughter and a shake of your head. Blushing deeply you simply sat up from the chair as Vil finished his work on your appearence, and gave them a small hug.
"Thank you guys for helping me, but...i'll tell you if it goes well. I rather keep it a surprise for now," You smiled gently, making your way to the door out of the lounge. Rook grabbed your arm gently, you turned around to notice him waving his phone around indicating he wanted to take a photo.
"For coming to us for our assistance and for hiding the identity of your date, asking you to allow us to take a photo of your beauty would be the least we may get in return, non?" You couldn't resist his charming nature and his way with words, so you agreed giving him a big smile and striking a flattering pose to show off your fit. After taking a photo much to his liking, Rook gave you an approving nod whilst Vil patted you on the shoulder wishing you luck. With your look now completed, you took your leave heading to the spot you had agreed upon.
There was a specific cafe you had been wanting to visit in the town, and when you mentioned it to Lilia over text (after you finally agreed to his advances) He simply replied; "Sounds like a lovely little place, I'd love to go." You smiled down at your phone, re-reading the text you had made the night prior, texting him "On my way," before chuckling in delight and putting your phone back into your pocket. The skies were rather cloudy that day, and rain seemed to be forcasted from the shadowly clouds afar , however you did not let this deter you from your plans. You made it to the cafe and stood to the side of the wooden door, pulling your phone out once again to glance at your notifications. He hadn't responded. You weren't too worried about this, he wasn't one to give fast responses, and the type to say, "Well I figured since we were about to see each other in person, why bother replying?" in these situations. So, you gave it time.
10 minutes. 20 minutes. 25 minutes. The clouds you had dreaded were now casting shadows over you, and rain began to sprinkle. Becoming antsy you decided to walk inside, being greeted by staff before taking a seat at a small table meant for two. You stared back down at your phone, texting him once more.
Are you coming?
No response, and no indication he had read it in the first place. You gave it a little bit more time, perhaps he got caught up in some sort of nonsense with Sebek or something came up with silver?
30 minutes, 45 minutes...You decided to call him. The fact that it went straight to voice mail indicated he must have been on 'do not disturb' mode, something he often does when he's...gaming.
screw it. You ordered a drink and sat back down at the table. Growling in annoyance you sipped away at your drink while continuing to tell yourself "15 more minutes, 10 more minutes, it'll be okay, he has a family back at the dorms, and he's kind of forgetful. I'm sure he will remember and respond to me soon. He's probably not actually playing games, he probably forgot to turn off do not Disturb after his raid last night... it's...it's okay." Another 15 minutes passed, another 50 excuses you convinced yourself of before it became about 2 hours past the time you had arrived. You had ordered two drinks at this point, playing away at your video game on your phone until it consumed your battery and eventually died.
you knew he wasn't coming.
Sighing in pure defeat, you stood up and disposed of your drinks, leaving a hefty tip to the worker who had served you. They gave you a look of pity and a small thank you for your token of appreciation, something that caused you to cringe and your frown to deepen after turning away from the counter.
don't look at me like that, You thought in agony, It only confirms that...I got stood up by the one person I didn't think would do that to me. walking out of the café with the rain pouring down heavier than before, you let out yet another miserable sigh before a weary chuckle. "Sighing?" you could hear a voice say in your head, "Why, you're letting all of the happiness escape you." You rolled your eyes at this and simply kept your feet moving, responding to the voice out loud, "Well... that's what happens when you rely on someone. You sigh away your happiness, because they took that with them."
Many people had already left the streets in search of shelter, to which you didn't care anymore. Your hair was now free of the styling Vil had taken the time to do for you, The little amount of makeup he applied was now streaming down your cheeks mixed with rain and tears. The outfit that was specially picked for you was drenched and sticking to your skin uncomfortably, however, you no longer cared at this point. Walking to the campus was about 30 minutes from the city, and the agonizingly slow pace in which you took extended it to closer to what felt like an hour. Or an eternity.
You walked through the gates of the school, the courtyard free from anybody in sight. You weren't sure if you wanted to go in just yet and face grim seeing you in such a miserable state, so you took a seat on the ground off to the side of the gates, sobbing into your knees. The weather has gotten worse pouring down heavier and heavier, you finally decided it was probably a safety hazard at this point, and lethargically picked yourself back up to make the way to your dorm. That was...until a familiar voice called out your name.
What a joke... He must have finally seen the messages. you inwardly laughed, staring blankly at the fae standing in front of you in the middle of the courtyard. He wasn't his cheery self per usual, he wasnt trying to poke fun or flirt with you, he was serious. His red eyes weren't glistening with playfulness, they were...not the Lilia you knew.
"Well if it isn't the man of the hour!" You called out, forcing yourself to laugh grimly, trying to rush past him, "better get inside before you get soaked too-" Lilia grabbed hold of your arm and pulled you back. He knew what you were doing, you were trying to pretend none of it ever happened. You were pushing back the fact you were hurt, and avoiding what he had to say because you already knew. You didn't want to hear him say it, you just wanted to dry off in your dorm and sleep the horrible day away, sleep away the burning in your heart and the wrenching feeling of dread that tore in the pit of your stomach.
"(y/n)-" He said, the playfulness that normally sang in his words was no longer there, only cold seriousness intertwined with his demeanor instead. You flinched, unable to reach his gaze and having a difficult time removing yourself from his strong grasp. You never knew that hearing your name come out of his mouth could feel so...estranged. It was common that hearing him say your name would make your heart dance in backflips, however this time it made your heart sting for a different reason.
"Please-" You choked out, "I just...want to go home." He shook his head and lightened his grip on your arm, where you were finally able to remove it and rub your wrist gently. A few seconds of silence felt far too long, the air was thick and the rain seemed as if it began to let up. His hands were placed on his hips as he sighed and shifted his gaze down with a shake of his head.
"I believe my joking has gone too far this time, i'm afraid," He said, looking up at you with pitiful eyes.
don't look at me like that, you thought in apprehension and a pained expression painting your features, like I should be empathized with. Like I am below you, like I...fabricated it all in my mind. No matter how much you wanted to say the words out loud, you couldn't seem to find your voice. So, he continued.
"I was under the impression that we were going along with a joke, I wasn't aware you had harbored real feelings for me. Forgive this old Faerie, I'm afraid I'm rather dense when it comes to romance, much less the... romantic advances of a human."
Your eyes widened slightly as your chest seemed to cave into itself. That word... Human. He was drawing a line, reminding you of what you are, and what he is. You knew this all along and had come to terms with falling in love with a Fae, especially one aged as much as Lilia himself. You scoffed and your sadness soon turned into anger, you quickly found your voice. With clenched fists and nails digging into your palms, the shaky unsureness was replaced with adrenaline and rage.
"I know!" You yelled sternly, looking down at the ground with tears of melancholy rushing down your flushed cheeks red with vexation. Lilia didn't seem to have much of a reaction to the sudden outburst, he gently folded his arms and listened to you as your poured your heart out of your lungs.
"I understand. I'm a naïve human, and you're a wise old Fae!" You sobbed, "Do you really think I'm that stupid?!" Your eyes were lit with fires, looking up to reach his own slitted orbs of deep Burgundy. You couldn't tell what he was thinking, he had a frown upon his lips and eyes devoid of any strong emotion, but you didn't care anymore.
"You have lived many years, far past my own. I get that! But you know what, I didn't care about any of those differences, because I love you, goddamit! I love you because you're Lilia, I wasn't even thinking about your age, your race, or anything! But I get it, I know what you're thinking." Your heart pounded and throbbed in your chest, even after admitting your feelings out like that, you still couldn't tell what Lilia was thinking this very moment behind those eyes. He hadn't moved a single muscle since you began your confession.
"To you, I'm just...a young human who can find anyone else that will fulfill my romantic needs that this is a phase of infatuation, But I-" He finally held his hand up, and you can feel the line he was putting between the two of you. He knew you were going to try and tell him that those things didn't matter to you, how you could still live happily by his side, and convince him that you didn't care what happened in the future, but to live in the present. However you can also tell there was no changing his mind, there was no convincing him, and his convictions were final.
"It seems that you already know what I'm going to say," Lilia spoke in a calm authoritative tone, "I hope we can still enjoy each other's companionship as friends, however, it cannot go any further than that. I apologize for casting confusion in your mind, (y/n), however romance is..." He turned his back, "far too late for me."
With that being said, you blankly stared at him as he left you behind, once again sitting limply against the side wall of the gate. You tried to tell yourself you understand, and perhaps this was nothing more than a..."right person wrong time" situation. As you tried to console your mind with reasonings to your stressful encounter, you weren't entirely certain how long you sat out as the rain in which you thought was dissipating, began to thunder and pour it's tears as it had earlier.
The only sounds left behind was the sad song of a broken heart, and the rain drowning out your defeated sobs.
----
A link to my master list!
- don't worry I have a fluff I'm also writing about Lilia and reader to make up for the angst.
- honestly I feel like I'm not very good at writing angst and I have a difficult time creating an atmosphere of like...heart break, so if you have any suggestions for improvement please do let me know, I enjoy reading (CONSTRUCTIVE) feedback to enhance my writing skills!
- I also have so many ideas for like...an aftermath of all of this. If you have any ideas or suggestions as well, please share! Perhaps I'll write a second part...

The only “anti Jonsa” argument that made sense to me is that not one of the characters will get a healing and healthy romance in the books because that’s not the story George is trying to tell. Going by the show, it’s not hard to believe 😕.
(about this ask)
Before I answer, I just want to say that shipping Jonsa and believing it will be canon are two different things. In fact, some of our most beloved fic writers do not think it was (in the show) or ever will be (in the books) canon, so there is no criteria as far as that goes for enjoying and creating for the fandom!
Martin has spoken about loving tragedies and tragic romances, so I’m very sympathetic to that concern. I no longer think we’re getting the ideal with Jonsa, so I even agree to a certain extent. However, the final book is called A Dream of Spring, and Spring carries certain meanings:
Tumblr media
Knowing the book was initially going to be called A Time for Wolves, we know which house will benefit from this.
I view Dany’s goal of conquering Westeros, the intentional and unintentional catastrophe that she will cause during her invasion, as so antithetical to who Jon is, what he would be attracted to, and what Martin supports, that a mutual relationship between them wouldn’t merely be tragic, but would be the total undoing, moral and psychological undoing, of Jon. Think about how Ygritte disturbed him with her casual violence and then haunts him after her death, the toll a relationship with Dany would take on him, the state that it would leave him is goes beyond tragic, it’s purely destructive. for Jon to enter into such a relationship voluntarily would be part of Jon going down a very dark path he wouldn’t recover from. Imo, it wouldn’t be tragedy in the way people think of it, both dying fighting the others, but about mutual destruction. I don’t think that works with the tone we expect for the ending. Jon may not get a HEA, but it’s not a satisfactory ending to leave him in the worst place he’s ever been. I can buy a clean tragedy, I can’t buy that. Considering what’s in store for him, parentage reveal, the Others, Dany’s invasion, there’s already a lot going to be added to his plate, and at some point, you’d expect a bit of light to creep in there.
I’d imagine that comes in the form of romantic love, as Martin has what I would say is a high view of love. I’ve talked before about Sam and how he overcomes his fear that has ruled him for the sake of Gilly:
Tumblr media
(link)
Love doesn’t just, randomly appear in the story, it changes the characters, for the better in this instance, it moves them and impacts the plot.
I don’t see in Jon the capability of rejecting the Starks, of betraying them in any way, and I certainly don’t think upon having siblings he believes are lost returned to him, he’d over prioritize an invader over their safety—he couldn’t with Ygritte, how much less likely now when his “new” family (the Watch) already betrayed him. If anything, I think his support and loyalty to the Starks will be hardened, even more resolute.
And if we read the Sam/Gilly scenes and see what Martin believes sincere love can do, I think we have reason to conclude that the Starks have the hopeful ending, so Jon will not end the story completely wrecked/a shell of a man, and instead, even in the midst of much personal trauma and turmoil, there will be a saving grace for him. Considering Martin’s stance on violence, it won’t be love for a warmonger that gives him a moment of peace or joy. Maybe we get the ideal ending for Jonsa, maybe we get a tragic ending for them, either way, I think it’s the only relationship that would allow for the right tone.

Im glad I made you laugh, i've read the tweet like 10 times trying to dissect it. Im assuming this is a love triangle and these are their ship/their names? Info dumping is welcomed
Yes hello, I apologize for how long it took me to answer. I was spending time with friends and completely forgot this was in my inbox.
The show I’m talking about it Only Friends or Only Friends The Series (ofts for short). Which is about a group of messy gays being messy bitches who live for the drama. It’s directed by a man named Jojo Tichakorn, who is an amazing writer/director who is himself gay. It’s been compared to Queer as Folk a lot which I think is fair because it does have some similarities though there are a lot of differences too.
It is and it isn’t a love triangle. That being said, it consists of three characters
Sand my beloved doe eyed boy and resident furious bisexual™️ (also sassy and hiding pain)
Tumblr media
Ray, the resident asshole with a heat of gold and self esteem issue self destructive alcoholic
Tumblr media
And Mew, the only one capable of keeping a plant alive
Tumblr media
To make a very long story short,
Mew and Ray have been friends for a long time (it is not mentioned how long) and 2 years prior to the series beginning, Mew saved Ray from dying by suicide (after Ray calls Mew to leave his suicide note). Ray has been in love with Mew since then while Mew had exactly 0 romantic interest in Ray, which Mew had made very clear to Ray more than once.
At the beginning of the series, Mew is introduced to Top while Ray meets Sand. (Side note, Top and Sand have their own history with each other that is not relevant right now but goes to the messy gays being messy). Top is Mew’s first serious relationship and a good deal of their relationship development revolves around the fact that Mew is a virgin while Top is the “top-tier” aka the Chad. Still they end up dating and falling in love and having sex, only Mew finds out that Top slept with another of his and Ray’s friends, Boston (both before the series starts and again just as Mew and Top are ending the ‘casual seeing each other’ stage of their relationship. Needless to say, Mew breaks up with Top.
Meanwhile Ray meets Sand at the beginning of the series. As stated, Ray is an alcoholic with a bucket load of self esteem and self worth issues that Sand decides to help take care of because he is just like that and also Ray is cute. The two end up forming a sex friends type relationship that is clear to everyone and the moon could very easily turn into a romantic relationship if the two would ever actually talk about their feelings, which they don’t, instead they dance (and fuck) around their growing feelings for each other until their budding relationship gets torpedoed by aforementioned friend Boston (Boston is gay and slutty and bitchy and kind of the worst and I love him so much!) when Boston reveals to Sand that Ray is in love with Mew (while also lying that Ray and Mew have hooked up in the past, which has not happened. They did kiss but that’s it and it was years prior to the start of the series).
This most recent two episodes has Mew finding out about Top and Boston having sex via a secretly recorded audio of them fucking nasty in Boston car (which was recorded by Boston friends with benefits/sex friend Nick which is it’s own can of worms. When I said this show is wild I fucking meant it). Mew ends up getting a bit of revenge against Boston by almost showing a different sex tape featuring Boston to Boston’s dad (who is also a politician). (Side note, this show is really attempting to hammer home the even horrible people don’t deserve to have bad things happening to them as yes you counted right Boston has been recorded without his consent, having sex, twice. One audio, one video. It’s creepy and gross and Boston 100% does not deserve it at all).
By the end of the most recent episode, Ray decides to shoot his shot by confessing to Mew (third times the charm I guess), despite Sand being there. Sand had been taking care of him early in the episode after Ray got into a car accident while driving drunk due to him calling out all of his friends at the end of the previous episode…at Mew’s birthday party no less. Ray has a lot of issues and one of them is that he’s a rich selfish asshole that you love anyway because his actor (Khaotung) is just that charismatic and because you have to feel for Ray because no one (but Sand) really treats him well at all. Mew accepts him this time in a very lack luster fashion that you can tell he is only doing because Mew is upset and angry and just wants to let go.
So the tweet essentially is saying that if Ray and Sand stand a chance at being any kind of couple, Ray has to get with Mew and it has to end badly because Ray needs to actively make the choice to be with Sand instead of being stuck on Mew, which Ray has already proven that he isn’t going to be able to move on any other way.
Ray and Sand as a couple have a hell of a lot more issues to work through but Ray’s love/gratitude towards Mew for saving his life is one of them. (The other being that Ray is, again, a rich asshole who needs to learn that you can’t buy everything and while Sand is poor, he has still a person who has value and is worth of respect, which Ray doesn’t give him much of because again rich selfish asshole. They are the anti Cinderella and I love it and I need Ray to learn this lesson, not because I want Ray and Sand to end up together, I’m on the fence about whether I want any of the couples in ofts to end up together all, but because no matter what it’s a lesson Ray needs to learn anyway).
…Have I mentioned it’s only episode 7 of a 12 episode series? We aren’t even close to being done. Like I said, messy gays being messy. It’s so much fun to watch this toxic af “friends” ruin lives, both their own and each others. Honestly if Top and Sand were smart, they’d be running for the fucking hills but alas, they are not smart.
The show is free to watch on YouTube if you like. It does have a fair amount of sex in it, nothing too explicit though. Jojo have talked repeatedly about how he wants it to be true to life and how it’s not really a romance but rather a drama about gays being young and messy and gay. It’s pretty fun so far and isn’t shying away from the things it wants to focus on, such as sex, addiction (both alcohol and drugs) and friendship.
In conclusion, Only Friends is messy and Ray, Sand and Mew are locked into a love triangle that none of them are even really aware exists. Mew and Ray need to happen for Ray to be able to move on, though most fans are on the fence about whether or not SandRay should end up together or not. I lean towards maybe, but only under highly specific conditions that I doubt the show will meet (which is not a knock nor shade on the show, it would be hard to do even on a drama that is dedicated to it). None of these characters are really actually good people and there is lot of drama I’m leaving out.
…Also this happens

Summary: When Luigi and Bowser find themselves stranded together in the Lost Kingdom after a turbulent windstorm sends them flying off Bowser’s airship, a busted up Odyssey becomes their unlikeliest of saviors. Now reluctant traveling companions, doomed to remain marooned without the other’s help, the two gather power moons and embark on a globe-trotting adventure home. However, as they fly and hunt for moons together, encountering and overcoming any and all conflicts in their way, their reservations about each other wither away while a fondness forged through their travels grows into something neither of them ever thought was possible.

WARP ZONE 2-2
Luigi’s a good guy.
Pauline’s always thought as much. When she was dating Mario, Pauline noticed how caring Luigi was – the lengths he would go to for others, his kind nature, and his sensitivity. She has always wanted what’s best for him.
Seeing Luigi show up in her city was a delight; seeing him accompanied by Bowser, the very Koopa that attacked her city only a year ago was…something else – definitely not what she would call the best for him.
However, it seems to be working out okay. Pauline was pretty surprised to hear that Bowser saved Luigi’s life when Luigi told her earlier and the two of them seem to be getting along okay.
Actually, going by the fact that she has seen Bowser give in to Luigi’s desires at least once now, they might be getting along even better than okay – she’s even tempted to define it beyond the realm of okayness and firmly in that of ‘well.’
Perhaps it’s a mix of that cooperation with her old friend alongside her incapacitated pianist situation and Bowser’s skills with ivory keys that gives Pauline the assuredness – relative assuredness, if she’s being completely honest, but assuredness nonetheless – needed to allow Bowser to perform for such an important event.
Well, her assuredness – both in herself and in others – has paid off for her in the past.
It’s time to see if that remains the case now.
Pauline hears gasps as the curtains open and stage lights beam down, making Bowser’s presence impossible to mask any longer.
The good news is that if Bowser notices the gasps, he chooses to keep playing in the face of them, as what fills the air is not loud footsteps or roars or the heat of fire, but instead drum sticks clacking against each other twice, followed immediately by the start of the band’s signature song, “Jump Up, Super Star!”
Pauline and the band quickly discovered after playing a few gigs following their formation last year just how much of a crowd pleaser their debut song was, and decided to incorporate it into all of their future sets. Not only is it a great way to celebrate their history as a band while also igniting memories of her city’s beloved festival, but by virtue of it being their most rehearsed song, it gives everyone in the band a chance to confidently show off their skills.
That decision shows its benefits right off the bat as their audience immediately starts cheering once the opening notes play, only getting louder as Pauline enters the spotlight. There’s still confusion hanging in the air amidst those cheers – frankly, she would be surprised if there wasn’t – but not enough to warrant interrupting the song.
As Pauline sings the number that feels as comfortable as her favorite pair of pajamas, she pays attention to her substitute bandmate’s performance.
Bowser’s skills as he plays reflect the best of what he has shown her this evening. Every note is hit with perfect timing while also capturing the less tangible aspects of the composition such as its flair. It may be the only number in their set that actually could have been done without Bowser – in addition to the sheer amount of practice that the rest of the band has put into it, the pianist’s role in this song is really just to add an extra layer of panache.
Still, there’s no denying that the number as a whole is greatly enhanced with its – and by extension, Bowser’s – inclusion.
The song ends with two bangs – one that would have ended it a year ago, and a second stemming from the piano equivalent of a riff before the other instruments come in for one last closing note.
Applause meets Pauline and the band, just as it always does, though Pauline can still hear that collective confusion infused in it.
It doesn’t take a genius to figure out the subject of said confusion, especially as Bowser rises from his piano bench with his fists in the air, amplifying his presence as part of the band all the more.
The audience doesn’t boo him – likely because the city as a whole loves the rest of the band – but they definitely want an explanation for him being here.
Well, there’s not much she can do to delay that particular inevitability.
Since inviting Bowser to play the piano at tonight’s concert, Pauline has debated on how to best introduce him to the audience.
It’s nerve wracking – Bowser might have left no casualties or serious injuries in the wake of his attack on the city, but he’s hardly a beloved figure here. A journalist for “The Kongzette” reported being roared at by him just yesterday, posters of his failed wedding still pop up from time to time even an entire year after they first polluted her city’s surfaces, and her abduction to attend that very same wedding did him no favors in her citizen’s eyes.
The concert’s attendants clearly expect an answer for his presence, even as they enjoy the fruits of his odd appearance.
She has that answer ready, but takes care of the rest of the concert’s introduction first – welcoming and thanking her audience for attending tonight’s benefit concert, telling them how much just being here helps the various music programs around New Donk City for thousands of children, and introducing herself as well as the rest of her bandmates outside of Bowser – she is a professional, after all!
Once all of that is settled, and Bowser is the next member to be introduced, Pauline gets right to it.
Pauline introduces Bowser as a temporary one-night-only guest star, prompting her present subject to give a cocky smile adorned with a wink and point one of his claws on each paw upwards in something resembling a thumbs up gesture.
…Can Koopas give a thumbs up? They only have four claws per paw.
Well, at least the fact that he only has four of them means that he can’t perform a certain, more crass gesture.
Pauline says that Bowser should not be confused with the band’s actual new pianist who could not be here tonight, and that said pianist will get his proper debut once he is back in full form.
Then, just as she did back when Bowser played for her earlier, she jokes to her audience about this being some of Bowser’s community service, earning her a less-than-benevolent, yet also less-than-enraged eye roll from her pianist of the hour.
Thankfully, the audience seems to accept her joke-like explanation, giving it a fair bit of laughter; Pauline disguises her sigh of relief as best as she can.
It’s not enough to get everyone content with the idea of Bowser playing for them tonight, but if Pauline has learned anything through her years as mayor, it’s that little outside of pizza and free t-shirts ever is enough to get every single person in a given population content about anything.
What’s important going forward is letting the rest of the concert speak – or rather, play – for itself.
With that in mind, Pauline introduces the next song, a charming number from Shivera that has warmed her up on many of New Donk City’s coldest nights with its exciting and friendly mood, signals to her band – mainstays and temporary members alike – to start, and start singing her heart out again.

Saw a post about how Game Night at the Bridgertons would be a war zone while their spouses are trying to deescalate the situation to just eating popcorn and enjoying the show- so what might happen when Gareth and Lucy are invited (meaning no one has learned that Game Night is a bad no good idea).
My guess is that Lucy had long since been exposed to the Bridgerton bloodthirst, so she has it covered. Gareth? No clue. He may have heard the rumors and just a bit morbidly curious.
So this or Game Of Thrones AU (Bridgertons are the Starks or Tyrells?)
Challenge accepted: I’m drunk so please ignore the spelling mistakes. I think I met the brief. Lmao. I do like your Game of Thrones au idea, but I think sober me will do it more justice if ever she has the time. So this is Gareth’s first time at ‘GAME NIGHT’ with the Bridgertons.
Gareth wasn’t sure what to expect. In truth, he’d not been at all worried until Lucy – oddly calm, incredibly patient LUCY, of all people – lowly whispered by his side a very ominous “And so it begins…..”
“So what begins?” Gareth couldn’t help but ask.
But his question was left ignored in favour of the very serious and stern opening speech Anthony felt the need to give.
“Ahem, now that we are all present, I do believe the first game of the night is to be…..”
Gareth was startled by the sudden drumroll Colin gave from his place beside his wife Penelope. He watched with slow creeping trepidation as Anthony fished through a hat and picked out a folded piece of paper. Gareth had turned to Hyacinth, intending to make a joke about the intensity of the entire gathering only to jump at her sudden war cry.
“CHEATER!!” Hyacinth was already screaming.
Kate, Anthony’s wife, let out a loud snort before waving her hand dismissively.
“I’m sure you’re right, but at least let him name the game before we start the accusations.” She said.
Anthony glared at his wife with exaggerated insult and huffed.
“Have you already forgotten that we are supposed to be a team, dearest?” Anthony scowled.
“What!? When was this decided!? In fact, who on earth agreed to that!?” Eloise shouted from where she’d been lazily lounging with her husband Phillip. Phillip was far more interested in the book in his lap titled ‘Gathering Moss’ looking utterly absent in mind to the ongoings around him.
“I would never,” Daphne piped from where she sipped at her juice by her bleary-looking Husband, Simon Hastings. In fact, Gareth thought the couple looked rather flushed – both incredibly red in the face and out of sorts – almost dazed.
“Oh, gods, who among us is responsible for spiking the juice!!” Eloise exclaimed.
It was no secret that Daphne was a lightweight, and her siblings – so long as it benefitted them – were never ashamed to take advantage of it from time to time. Simon, on the other hand, always made it a point to pre-game with a mighty amount of drinks before Bridgerton game night.
“Suspicious isn’t it, the fact that you are the one making accusations after the sabotage you organised last time…..” Colin casually shrugged. The third-born Bridgerton had yet to forgive the fifth-born for spiking his beloved wife Penelope’s pudding with extreme amounts of rum. It had been a memorable night for sure, which resulted in the birth of their second child, but still…. The sabotage was unforgettable.
Eloise turned to her charmer of a brother with a glare but was saved from speaking a word with Benedict’s aiding hand.
“If we are casting suspicions then what is to stop us from suspecting you, brother? Did you not swap the dice for a rigged set two years before?” Benedict hummed as he lazily twirled a finger around a lock of his wife – who was happily snacking on freshly popped popcorn with a grin – Sophie’s hair.
“Is no one going to let Anthony name the game so we may start?” Francesca sighed.
“Oh, hush you, as if any of us are blind to the fact Michael suspiciously disappeared earlier during dinner only to return 15 minutes later,” Kate directed.
“I went to the bathroom, dessert was rather disagreeable with me, unfortunately, “ Michael piped with an innocent shrug.
“And are we to take your word for it?” Penelope added with a sickly sweet grin that did nothing to hide the sharply pointed tone of her words.
“My God, are we not going to start!?” Gregory whined with a sulky huff.
“So eager to lose, little brother,” Benedict couldn’t help but mock.
“HAH! I have Lucy this year, of course, we’re guaranteed to win. Unlike the rest of you, we have the advantage, right babe?” Gregory boasted with a self-assured grin before quickly pressing a kiss to Lucy’s head. To Lucy’s credit, she only sighed at his antics and motioned for Sophie to share her popcorn. Sophie snickered as she did so with eager relish.
“Is this….. normal for all of you?” Gareth warily inquired.
But the Bridgerton siblings were far too busy accusing one another – using past schemes and manipulations as justifiable reasons for their suspicions – to even hear Gareth’s wary question.
He was surprised by the heavy hand that clapped his shoulder, and the sudden comforting weight of another’s arm looping through his own.
“Hyacinth wouldn’t have brought you tonight if she didn’t think you could survive their nonsense,” Simon roughly grumbled.
Gareth tried not to crinkle his nose at the wafting smell of whiskey on his breath.
“The only reason blood is never shed is that Violet would have all eight of their heads displayed in a rather gory exhibition….. all done with love, I assure you,” Sophie teasingly whispered by his side.
Gareth very suddenly felt a cold shiver scramble down his spine, but he couldn’t be sure if it was out of dread or something else.
“You grow used to it of course, for some, it takes years and others well…..” Penelope helpfully added.
“For some the saying ‘if you can’t beat them, join them’ comes to mind......” Phillips distractedly added.
Gareth looked across the room to where Kate remained behind her husband while he passionately argued with his siblings. He couldn’t help but liken her to a lioness or something feline enjoying the chaos playing out before her. Or perhaps something like an Egyptian Goddess entertained by the insanity of her followers.
“We’d be liars if we claimed not to be curious as to which category you might fall under…..” Michael snickered.
Gareth swallowed and cast a hasty glance towards the passionately riled Hyacinth accusing Gregory of something he couldn’t be sure of. He could feel the assessing eyes of the Bridgerton’s significant others on his person, so full of curiosity. This truly was madness.
Gareth had never considered himself the romantic sort, but that’s exactly what Hyacinth inspired in him. For her, there was nothing he wasn’t willing to face or accomplish. There were no challenges he’d refuse, no overwhelming insanity he wouldn’t suffer so long as she could be happy. He loved her just as fiercely as the sun loved the moon to spend eternity in a chase, never guaranteeing their next meeting – never promising forever, yet attempting it anyway.
He loved her, more than he’s ever loved anything in his life and so…… for her, he could brave this.
For Hyacinth, he would ensure her victory.
Gareth snapped out of his musings due to the loudly given groan from across the room and the despairing sighs that followed.
“Damn it, he’s committed!” Anthony suddenly exclaimed.
What?
Gareth suddenly found his arms full of a very excited Hyacinth who dragged him into a passionate kiss before all her siblings and their spouses.
“Hyacinth!” Anthony snarled with a warning only to be hushed by a pointed kick to his shin delivered by his wife.
“I knew you’d win them over!!” Hyacinth exclaimed as she pulled away.
What?
Hyacinth then turned to her siblings looking smug and obnoxiously pleased.
“Now pay up, all of you!!” Hyacinth expectantly ordered.
The Bridgertons erupted into another round of nonsensical squabbling, but Gareth was too busy trying to make sense of what exactly had just happened. The return of a heavy hand on his shoulder jolted him from his thoughts and he turned to find Phillip by his side looking sympathetic and understanding.
“Don’t take insult to it, it’s just how they are….. at least you weren’t forced to battle all four brothers in the ring,” Phillips sighed before going back to his seat and returning to his book.
What?
Sophie snorted and threw some popcorn in the air and expertly catching it with her mouth.
“To be fair, I met them while in jail.”
What?
“Fran was married to my cousin,” Michael shrugged.
As if she could read the chaotic state of his mind, Lucy – oddly calm, incredibly patient Lucy – warmly patted his arm with a reassuring smile.
“You’re ok,” she said.
Gareth hadn’t realised until that moment the complicated whirl of emotions he was feeling. He could barely make sense of where his mind lingered or more specifically his temper. In some ways, he felt he was made a fool – invited to a ‘game night’ only to be tested for his devotion to Hyacinth – But…..
Hyacinth was laughing, a grin permanently painted on her lips as she wrestled with Gregory for a piece from a game box. She was beaming with complete joy, alive in so many ways he craved to be touched by.
“I’m ok,” he repeated out loud, and it was true.
The Bridgerton’s were viscously competitive, and incredibly sore losers to the point of sabotage and murder, but….. Gareth could survive it all so long as it meant Hyacinth would remain his.
He loved her.
He chose her.
But most importantly….. out of everyone in the world….. Hyacinth Bridgerton chose him.
And that was the greatest victory of all.

sorry i'm actually still on that castlevania brainrot, with a big big focus on CoD since i've been re-playing it in my free time, but felt like i was being too annoying about it between simping for Hector in a way i have not publicly done for any other blorbo and bitching about netflixvania lmao
now that i've had some time to let my thoughts Stew and Simmer, and after consuming whatever Hector-centric fan content i can get my greedy little hands on, i got some Thoughts on all the pairings i've come across, and put together my as-of-now takes on them:
• CV: CoD Hector/Isaac - yes! THE ship of all time! versatile, but however you ship them, They Are Each Other's Whole World!!! they're best friends at minimum (at least before Hec's betrayal) and hell yes they're fooling around with each other - they're 2 dudes in their early 20s who grew up together, literally have no one else and probably spend damn near 24/7 together as a result of their living situation/jobs. is it a casual friends with benefits thing? are they romantically involved and devoted to each other? work besties? mentor mentee kinda thing? is it mutually toxic and/or abusive? friendly rivalry? bitter enemies til the end? it all works! the beauty of the canon not being set means theres so much room for interpretation, but i don't think hector or isaac would be as broken up as they are if they didn't feel something for each other. for me, it all tracks and part of the fun is seeing new ways to interpret their dynamic (except no one makes content for their game counterparts anymore after netflixvania 😢)
• Netflixvania!Hector/Isaac - sorry but i just can't get on board the Forgehusbands thing here. in this version, the most chemistry they have is barely tolerating each other as colleagues. its not even animosity, just straight up indifference. then hector spends some months in his own personal hell being Lenores plaything probably just trying to not lose his sanity while isaac is thousands of miles away consumed by the thought of revenge but otherwise living it up. Issac doesnt even really save Hector in the end…? and idk why but the writers were really pushing a Lenector agenda so there really isn't much of anything to ship here. N!Isaac's too dry and serious about his own misanthropy without any of the mindless, fanatical devotion to Drac's cause CoD!Isaac has, while N!Hector is just. barely a character tbh with how passive and contradicting he feels (and i will CURSE the writers for forever squandering his character when he probably has the most official, coherent material dedicated to explaining his whole deal!!!). there's not much in this canon that drives them towards each other in a way i find compelling, but if someone out there could take on the challenge and actually show how they end up getting together (as friends or romantically) i'd be interested in that! because the current status quo where they're Inexplicably An Item From The Start is a little stale tbh
• Hector/Rosaly - YESSSSSS i love how their relationship is depicted in both PtR and the manga series! (favorite panel of all time: "Oh, you bit right away") i've seen some criticisms of this ship and specifically Rosaly essentially being Lisa 2.0 and a namedropped source of Man Pain™ for all of CoD's intro cutscene before never being mentioned again and. yeah, that's all true. BUT its so soft, and quiet and loving. they really are perfect for each other <3 and it's an interesting parallel for Drac/Lisa, and how Hector doesn't go on a genocidal rampage after losing his beloved in the exact same way, despite his own misanthropy still holding strong. does that say something about Hector's character, or was it all just Death's scheming going exactly as planned?
• Hector/Julia - nnnnooo…. come on man. you cant fuck your ex's (that you killed btw) sister that just so happens to look like your recently deceased wife. who was murdered by aforementioned ex. god the baggage going in all directions here... thankfully, even in canon its only implied at best, if you turn your head and squint. i like 'em as Just Friends, thanks - 2 magic wielders that share a bond through being persecuted by humanity, and for losing a mutual someone they cared for deeply. (side note: wish we saw more of Julia! i love that for what little we got of her, she does seem to mirror Isaac, in ways only siblings who are close can)
• N!Hector/Lenore - no and FUCK no. i actively hate this pairing. the only acceptable interaction between these 2 is Hector staking Lenore through the heart with a smile on his face. and before anyone comes for me, it has NOTHING to do with the fact that it's a m/f ship, because as mentioned above, i adore Hector/Rosaly. it's not even because it's abusive, you CAN write and enjoy darker relationship dynamics but. this just wasn't it. if they were going for an enemies-to-lovers kind of thing, they failed spectacularly at establishing the 'to lovers' part. the only reason i enjoyed their S4 interactions is because it's seemingly the only time in the entire series anyone talks to Hector with any level of respect, even if it was just dumb sex jokes.
• Hector/Alucard - this one surprised me, for simultaneously seeming to hold both statuses as 'squarely defined as a rarepair by most fan's standards' but also 'there were at least a good few pages worth of the Hector Castelavnia tag on Ao3 that was just these 2 as the main pairing'?
not really sure how i feel about this one - i like them as individual characters who have a lot of parallels going on (probably because Hector is supposed to be like an 'improved' version of Alucard from what i've read?)
i like the idea of their netflixvania versions trauma bonding after the shit in S3 because good lord they both need someone who can understand what they've been through. but they don't interact at all in the netflix show, so no dice there imo. under a more cynical lens, my feelings are something like "you only ship these 2 because they're both soft prettyboys you wanna see fucking huh"
if you go by the games canon and lore then they're just about the same age and logically would have interacted at least occasionally in their time at Castlevania but ofc we dont see any of it. theres some ancient fanfics out there that expand on this with alucard, hector, and isaac all being childhood friends before they grew up and had to kinda move into their respective roles and protocol and formality and work kinda made them drift apart and i find those very cute <3
i think this pairing could work honestly, they're both generally kind-hearted albeit tragic souls with a cold disposition who experienced the madness of Castlevania and Dracula's vengeance firsthand. there's gotta be something you can pull outta there. mmmaybe not quite friendship either but.... kindred souls. they have that "prince and his knight" kinda vibe, at least aesthetically, which i can get behind! and i like what i've seen from the exceedingly rare pre-netflixvania fics that exist, and even the netflixvania fanfics are kinda cute (please can we move away from the theme of N!Trevor brutalizing N!Hector out of mistrust just as a chance for N!Alucard to swoop in and save him? shit is damn near ubiquitous even in my very brief time exploring)
• Hector/Trevor - (i should specify i'm referring to their games versions exclusively here. N!Trevor isn't even aware of N!Hector's existence afaik) i dig it, there's just the very inconvenient fact that Trevor's supposed to be married to Sypha lol. and i dont really see a trephacard type of situation happening here (not that im crazy for trephacard now that i mention it. it's cute, it's wholesome but eh, not much substance to it? im realizing i like my ships with a pinch of tension)
so much comedic potential! a fun ship to entertain, but i feel like no one seems to make any content that captures their dynamic well. so ultimately this is a "the best ship is friendship" type of relationship for me. i have a headcanon that Trevor tries, really, really tries, to reach out and befriend Hector post-CoD in a way he might not for other people, out of guilt and concern he'd end up like Adrian (except at least Adrian has the option to wake up and rejoin the world, if he felt like he was finally ready someday. Hector, for all his demonic powers, is still very much human and is shown not once, but twice, ready to let himself go peacefully from this world because he just can't envision a future for himself after Castlevania and losing everything that's important to him. and i generally just like Trevor being a Genuinely Good Person, despite being a bit of a pompous hot-head. miss me with whatever netflixvania was going for)
• Hector/Dracula - ….okay so a certain tumblr user's AU got to me and i do enjoy how dark and fucked up this is <33 and thats pretty much exclusively how i view this ship - always a power imbalance, never wholesome. that's all i have to say about it, don't really wanna go into specifics and squick anyone out but uhh yeah. it's not pretty lmao

Okay listen: I know Show!Curtain adopting SQ leaves us with enough to talk about, but hear me out:
AU where all of the executives (Jackson, Jillson, Martina, and SQ) are Curtain’s adopted kids.
Because the way their characters act would fit perfectly in that context.
✨ Unhinged Rant Below: ✨
I think that you’d actually change very little about the show characters, and they would fit perfectly into the dynamic that would develop if Curtain adopted all of them:
SQ: SQ would be the favorite (because he reminds Curtain of Nicholas) and yet, this causes his siblings to resent him and SQ still feels inferior for not being as good as the rest of them at things he’s been taught to value (e.g., being strong, good at exams, emotionally invulnerable, etc.). It also makes his special moments with his dad (when they do art together) feel less special, because he wishes it didn’t come at the expense of his siblings. Curtain, because of his relationship and experience with Nicholas, tries to cultivate separate relationships with his children individually and does nothing to encourage them to bond with each other (because in his messed up worldview, Curtain actually believes that this is doing them a favor). This leaves SQ feeling even more guilty, misunderstood, and isolated. And yes, as a little kid, he did draw pictures for everyone in his family, and everyone (Curtain included) still has the crayon drawings little SQ made of the five of them together looking happy (though no one, Martina especially, would ever admit to saving the drawing or wishing that it could be their family’s dynamic in reality).
Martina: Martina, as the youngest, would constantly fight to be the best, be the favorite, and win her dad’s approval. Unfortunately for Martina, she’s the one Curtain relates to the most, so he unconsciously projects himself onto her, except Curtain hates himself, so he’s both proud of and disappointed in Martina but can’t articulate why (and he can’t tell Martina how proud he is of her without being vulnerable, so he never does). Martina is super jealous that SQ is clearly the favorite, and although she’s not as good at art, makes sure she’s better than him at everything else. Curtain recognizes her talent and has her in mind to be his successor, but ends up putting more pressure on her instead of giving positive feedback, which makes Martina more desperate to win his approval, and all the more devastated when she fails. Plus, Martina never gets the chance to question whether being Curtain’s successor and following in his footsteps is really what she wants, she just feels like it’s what her dad values her for so she’s afraid to let it go. So naturally, when Kate, Reynie, and Sticky get to the institute and start showing her up academically and athletically, she does not take it well (and might even actively try to sabotage SQ’s friendships with them, and have a very “I told you so” attitude when they are all revealed to be spies).
Jackson and Jillson: Jackson and Jillson don’t get projected on quite as strongly as Martina and SQ (although the fact that they are so close sometimes reminds Curtain of himself and Nicholas). They’re the oldest and technically adults at this point, so while they still try to win Curtain’s approval, they aren’t as desperate, plus they learned a long time ago that competing to be better than Martina or more beloved than SQ is a losing game, and there are benefits to staying out of the spotlight. They also have a close relationship because once Martina and SQ were adopted, Curtain started viewing Martina as the one best suited to be his successor, and SQ as his favorite, so they both got kinda ignored, but at least they had each other. Curtain’s not thrilled about how close Jackson and Jillson are because he assumes one will eventually betray the other, but he allows their dynamic to develop because it happened naturally, and he’s too focused on his other children to do anything about it. Plus, since they are older and not under so much pressure, Jackson and Jillson try to be good and encouraging older siblings to Martina and SQ, but it’s hard when Curtain has such a strong hold over them, and Jackson and Jillson themselves are still loyal to their father.
Now how did Curtain end up adopting not just one but FOUR children? Because he has the same adoptive instincts that Nicholas has, ESPECIALLY when it comes to children labeled as “unwanted” or “undesirable” or when they remind him of himself or Nicholas (but Curtain would never openly acknowledge that). So he sees Jackson and Jillson, and how all they have in the world is each other (just like him and Nicky once), he sees SQ, who is so sweet and kindhearted (like Nicky), and Martina, who insists on being the strongest and best at everything (like baby Nathaniel), and Curtain’s like: “hm. Yes. I see. These orphans are my children now.”
But even though it comes from a place of love, terribly misguided love as it is, Curtain still struggles to be a good dad. He obviously hasn’t gotten over his own past, and unlike Nicholas, who has Number Two, Rhonda, Milligan, and Miss. Perumal, all Curtain has for help is Garrison, who would probably feel too guilty to even want to get near those kids, and Jeffers, who I’m pretty sure would lose them all after five minutes of babysitting (which would result in Curtain screaming at him over the phone because there are four of them, how do you lose all four of them on an island, SQ is a wanderer, sure, but he can’t run that fast, and Jackson and Jillson are always together, so surely you could have just kept track of one of them? Ok, Martina is a troublemaker, but still, it’s an island, how can you not find her? And then I imagine Jeffers mumbling something about a game of hide-and-seek that got “out of hand”).
Now, of course, there would be a plot line where the siblings come together and actually start acting like a loving family (and Martina and SQ would parallel the twins FOR SURE if that wasn’t obvious already). And Jackson and Jillson, when push came to shove, would finally stand up to Curtain if it meant protecting their younger siblings. And Curtain, after some therapy and hard work (and a stern talking to from his brother) would realize that the way he treated his children was toxic for all of them, apologize, and work towards developing a healthier family dynamic with them. I apologize for all spelling and grammar mistakes. I typed this up very late at night. But I hope you enjoy my incoherent thoughts.

My gal is most sensitive along her bikini area, inner thighs, neck (more toward her collarbone) and hip dips. Anyone who wants to be handsy and touches her there will def get a reaction (fun fact: her thighs are very ticklish, which Sens would probably find out very quickly).
For Sens, I think they're the type to be sensitive on the neck and their ears. Reaper finds this out when she actually tries to whisper in Sens' ear about something normal and she startles them.
👙-Favorite outfit in the bedroom?
Reaper isn't actually into dressing up for specific occasions, but she would try; this being said, she tries to stay between keeping it "simple" and adding a lil bit more Spice when she's feeling bold. So she'll probably wear some nice lingerie (not the complex strappy stuff but different stuff) under either a nightie, a mesh dress, or a regular oversized shirt. She does own Nice nightgowns that she originally wears for herself when she's feeling Fancy, but ofc she gets even to show them off to Sens.
Idk if this counts as an "outfit", though Reaper does like to see Sens in those tanks they wear (example in the vector glare siege story). That and something like unbuttoned beach shirts (example like the Hawaiian vacation shirts), or anything that Sens can wear loosely.
Á : Is your muse loud in bed?
While I think they are on the same level when it comes to making noise, Reaper takes the cake as the loudest; when they first start having sex, Reaper tries desperately to Be Quiet and always ends up failing miserably since she moans and curses and gasps more than Sens does. Sens can make their fair share of noise too, but they save it for my gal's ears, and I think Sens is more heavy breathing, gasping, and some moaning in comparison.
👠-Do they watch pornography? If so, what kind?
Reaper doesn't watch porn bc she personally doesn't care for it and knows 99.9% of porn is meant for guys anyway. Sens actually just doesn't strike me as someone who would be into it either, maybe they would do it, with Reaper's permission or ask if they could watch something together, for new spicy ideas?
🍒-When and how did they lose their virginity, if they have?
Reaper would have no shame in revealing that she, in her late twenties, is still a virgin. She never really had the opportunity to have sex when she was younger, nor was she interested in doing so due to sex being something really personal for her.
Again, I'm not sure if Sens would have done the tango. They're very sweet and sociable, not that that has to mean they've had sex nor that they've had a romantic relationship. Honestly idk, I think if they did, maybe in their early-mid twenties? Comfort sex or a friends-with-benefits thing?
👅-Would they rather give or receive oral sex?
Reaper loves to receive, so she offers to give so much in exchange.
Sens feels like a giver, so I think there's some balance here.
☂ : How long does it take your muse to hit climax, usually?
Sooooo Reaper actually takes a lil minute before hits climax (it sounds weird to give an amount of time, but so I'm not vague about this, I'm taking 30 minutes minmum, even if she's initially in The Mood unless that's not a long time idk).
I think it depends for Sens, if they're in The Mood I think they climax pretty quickly (10-15 minutes), otherwise they don't take too long nor too soon.
☜ : Does your muse like to top?/☞ : Does your muse like to bottom?
Reaper is a Bottom, like she can try to top but it'll look just too cute.
Me thinks Sens could be a pro at switching.
∀ : Your muse’s favorite position?
Reaper: missionary, lotus, from behind (preferably standing and/or against a wall, also pinned), missionary with legs over the shoulders
Sens: cowgirl, spooning but facing each other, facing each other against the wall/on a counter, standing missionary
*****
A Game of Cat & Mouse (Lorelei "Plague" CapuletxLuna "Fury" Pajeot ||Rainbow Six Siege)
❤ : Where on their body is your muse most sensitive?
Fury's most sensitive spots are her inner thighs and behind her knees, and her navel and lower stomach.
Plague's spots are their shoulder blades, sides and lower back, and their scalp.
👙-Favorite outfit in the bedroom?
Fury's motto is "comfort is sexy" (jk), so wearing baggy clothes, pajamas, etc. actually gets her going (especially when it makes it easier for her to reach the Spots), and she is not afraid to admit she's a sucker for the fancy military uniforms in the bedroom.
Plague isn't really into the whole outfit thing, so they go with whatever Luna likes.
Á : Is your muse loud in bed?
Luna is not loud in bed; she's a heavy breather, soft moaner, and sometimes even giggles (that's just her).
Plague is not loud either actually. They curse, groan, and (thought they fruitlessly try not to) even whimper, but none of it gets past the room.
👠-Do they watch pornography? If so, what kind?
Luna does occasionally, strictly lesbian and/or masturbation, she'll offer Plague to watch it with her if they feel up to it.
Plague doesn't watch porn. They discovered it when they were younger and it was Not The Right time, of course that was awhile ago and they know Luna doesn't watch "extreme" stuff so it's fine.
🍒-When and how did they lose their virginity, if they have?
Luna masturbated when she was younger, which I'm not sure if that counts (some ppl says it does, I wouldn't so I'll count this as a fun fact). Otherwise, she has no experience before Plague.
Plague is not experienced in anything at all. They grew up in a very straight-laced family and when they got their freedom, sex was not one of the things on their mind.
👅-Would they rather give or receive oral sex?
Both Fury and Plague are givers, really. Between the two though, Luna leans more toward giving or receiving.
☂ : How long does it take your muse to hit climax, usually?
Luna usually climaxes first. It doesn't take her very long at all.
Plague definitely takes longer, especially when they have sex with Fury for the first time, and they become more comfortable over time.
☜ : Does your muse like to top?/☞ : Does your muse like to bottom?
Fury is the top, literally every time (which she has no complaints about), and Plague is the bottom.
∀ : Your muse’s favorite position?
Fury: really anything that doesn't require flexibility (bc my pilot is NOT flexible)
Plague: spooning, missionary, lotus, reverse cowgirl, etc (anything where they can be close to Fury)
*****
Falling Into Your Spells (Lara Darling-JóźwiakxSage O'Malley ||Fandomless)
❤ : Where on their body is your muse most sensitive?
Lara's sensitive spots are her inner wrists/forearms, hips, the small of her back & lower back, and her mouth.
Sage's are his neck (especially the nape), shoulders/shoulder blades, and stomach/lower stomach.
👙-Favorite outfit in the bedroom?
These two are the kind that have certain clothes that the other gets really turned on by, which they do take advantage of (they do try and wear clothing that pair well together, so it's not random or mismatched).
Á : Is your muse loud in bed?
They are both loud ones, except Lara's the one who's embarrassed about it. She lets out the high-pitched squeals and cries and can curse and ramble but Sage is the most talkative of the two.
👠-Do they watch pornography? If so, what kind?
Once in a blue moon they might watch a video or two to get things going. It's not really their thing.
🍒-When and how did they lose their virginity, if they have?
Lara experienced oral sex once and that was it. Otherwise, they both have no experience.
👅-Would they rather give or receive oral sex?
Lara really is both a giver and receiver, while Sage is a giver.
☂ : How long does it take your muse to hit climax, usually?
They both take awhile (20-30 minutes), though Lara usually finishes first.
☜ : Does your muse like to top?/ ☞ : Does your muse like to bottom?
Sage is a switch that prefers to top, and Lara is a bottom.
∀ : Your muse’s favorite position?
Lara: spooning, doggy style, doggy style with bottom up, cowgirl/reverse cowgirl, sitting (this one sounds weird ik)
Sage: missionary (modified), spooning (modified), reverse sitting, spooning, doggy style standing

Something a little different.
If the Kaminoans could speed up the clones ageing, what if they figured out a way to de-age their most important assets when they were getting to old to function properly.
I could see them doing this as an alternative to creating more clones because it probably saves money and resourses.
Well, order 66 doesnt happen, because Anakin finds out about Palpatines deception, and kills him, falling to the dark side and taking the throne himself.
And as for his beloved Padme, she has Luke and Leia, and he is obsessed with them, with keeping them safe and happy.
But what does this mean for the clone army?
News reached Anakin about some strange behaviour, what most people would consider concerning, behavior, so he calls rex to him.
Rex admits their love for their padawan children, jedi partners and every other relationship under the sun, also with a few civillians.
Anakin is thrilled for them. In his mind he believes the clones have finally gotten the reward they were due from all the work they did for the republic during the war.
It also has the added benefit of keeping the other Jedi safe, without them threatening to dethrone him.
He tells Rex to report his unconditional blessing and support of the clones pursuit if love and family.
Rex brings up the de-aging process. How some of the padawans are showing considerable resistance to them, and how concerened the clones are for the poor ad'ikas mental and physical saftey.
He claims they're so used to war they dont know how to settle down and be part of their family, not without conflict constantly on their minds.
Rex said that should they be allowed, putting the padawans through the de-aging process would not only ensure their safety would be secure in the clones hands, due to them being reliant on the clones and not remembering their past lives, but it would also create a stronger bond between them.
Anakin considers. He sees the merit in Rex's idea. He looks to Luke and Leia, happily playing on a pile of pillows and blankets with his Padme.
He could give all the younglings a chance to grow up just as happy and safe as his own beloved twins. And the clones would be ecstatic that they are letting them love their families so much.
Anakin turns to Rex and agrees. Asking who the more troublesome of padawans have been so far.
Rex looks uncomfortable at this. He states, with no uncertainty, that Ashoka has been causing the most conflict out of all the padawans, having already attempted three mass escapes.
Anakin sighs. He knows what has to be done, for the greater good.
He gives Rex his blessing to put Ashoka, and any/all other padawans through the de-aging process.
He will miss her, but she deserves a happy, carefree and full childhood, one that he and the clones will provide.
Besides it's not goodbye. He'll still see her and she can grow up and be tought the force by him again, side by side with his own children and all the other padawan younglings.
Anakin dismisses rex, telling him that whatever he and the clones need, they'll have.
Money, homes, med facilities, legal immunity. It's all theirs.
Rex trots away, feeling giddy.
This was it.
He was finally getting his vod'ika Ashoka back. And there was no danger of her being ripped away from him.

You have some great metas about fire nation family! I had some trouble grasping their dynamic (like nuances of abuse) but now it is a lot clearer. However, there was some stuff that I felt was lacking in Zuko's arc in book 3 compared to books 1 and 2 and was wondering what is your opinion about this. 1) It felt like the main reason he decided to cut ties during DOBS was because he didn't find the beloved home he wanted. It came of as if his family did actually care about him and he felt /1/
and loved, like with Iroh, he wouldn't leave. 2) His arc during first half of book 3 felt kind of aimless? It didn't feel like he was gradually progressing or regressing. Even hiring assassin doesn't seem to have any impact on him, there's barely any build up and no follow up. it just happens. He was stomping the same place until the writers decided it was time for him to leave. 4) I feel like they were kind of pushing his bad boy persona excessively during first half. Sure, he had his /2/
moments in previous books but this time it gave very different vibes, kind of edgy and cartoonish (The Headband for example), hairstyle was really on the nose. I know it is supposed to be him at his worst but the way it was conveyed was weird. 5) Do you think fire family needed more screentime or was it enough for viewers to get the gist of their dynamic? Would it benefit from flashing out? Or, if nor fire family, then fire nation politics, generals or nobles. I thought it was disappointing /3/
Zuko never got a close look at any of it or interacted with them, or even seeing the effect of war on his people, like villagers.  Sorry, if it's too long. If you don't feel like answering, that's cool./4/
Hi!
A lot of the questions you have are common complaints I've seen about Zuko's book three arc, and I both agree in some ways and disagree with those complaints. I'll try to address everything because there's a lot in your asks.
To address your first question, I agree that in some ways Zuko's main reason for cutting ties with his family was not feeling loved. The question then becomes, if he did find the love and acceptance he wanted, would he have left the Fire Nation at all?
This is a really interesting question, I think. I do think that a large part of Zuko's motivation for leaving was realizing that he was never going to get the love and acceptance from his family that he wanted. The question you're asking seems to be: does that diminish his leaving because it was the right thing to do for the world?
And I would say the answer to that is yes and no, in some ways. I can definitely see the complaint there, especially combined with some of your other questions about how the show could have spent more time having Zuko engage with Fire Nation politics.
I think when you have this kind of narrative, there is a danger of putting too much focus on the personal rather than the ethical in a broader sense. Zuko's conflict deals a lot with his personal relationship with his father, especially, and his confrontation with Ozai in DOBS definitely focuses a lot on that. I see what you mean, it makes it seem like Zuko's motivation for leaving was more about himself than about saving the world, which could be seen as diminishing his redemption arc because his motivation becomes more about himself than about the world.
I can see that criticism, but I've also said before that Zuko's personal narrative conflict and the conflict with how he feels about the world / his role in the war are strongly interconnected. It's difficult to separate Zuko the abused child from Zuko the prince of the Fire Nation who tried to capture the Avatar because those two things exist together. It's not just that Zuko realized that capturing the Avatar wasn't going to get him the love that he wanted, it's about Zuko realizing that the way he was treated by his family was horrible, and that ties into Zuko's realization that the way the Fire Nation was treating the rest of the world was horrible, too. This is a slow process that builds throughout Zuko's narrative in all three seasons. Think of Song, who was burned in the war. Zuko listening to these people talk about their own suffering - suffering that Zuko could personally relate to - not only helped him realize how bad the war was, it helped him realize that the things his father did to him were wrong, and not his fault.
Another thing I'd add to that is that Zuko DID receive acceptance when he went back to the Fire Nation. By his own words, he has everything he always wanted.
Zuko: I admit it, I have everything I always wanted, but it's not as all how I thought it would be. The truth is, I need your advice. I think the Avatar is still alive, I know he's out there, I'm losing my mind. Please, Uncle, I'm so confused I need your help. ("The Headband")
Zuko: For so long I thought that if my dad accepted me, I'd be happy. I'm back home now, my dad talks to me. Ha! He even thinks I'm a hero. [Close-up of Azula, who smiles.] Everything should be perfect, right? I should be happy now, but I'm not. [Turning back to the others.] I'm angrier than ever and I don't know why! ("The Beach")
Now, I've also talked about how a lot of Zuko's anger and confusion and unhappiness comes from the fact that Ozai and Azula are gaslighting him. He knows on an emotional level that his father's love and acceptance of him is conditional and that Ozai will hurt and manipulate him to suit his own ends, and that's the real reason he feels unhappy even though his dad talks to him, praises him, even. Even though he has servants and palanquins and a girlfriend and status and is hailed as a hero.
Notice also that in both scenes he talks about being a hero for supposedly killing Aang. Part of that is guilt for being given credit for something he didn't do, and part of it is also knowing that he's being manipulated, that this secret can be used to hurt him. When he talks to Iroh he says he feels like he's losing his mind. Gaslighting makes you question the reality of what you have actually experienced, which makes a victim malleable to suggestion as a manipulation tactic. Zuko feels like he's going crazy because the reality he has experienced doesn't match what everyone around him is telling him is true.
If you wanted to connect this back to Zuko realizing that he's unhappy for ethical reasons, what Iguess I would have done if I were writing it is focus more on how Zuko feels about being given credit for "killing" Aang, and the prospect that Aang might still be alive, beyond what it does for him personally, and have him reflect more on how it affects the world. I think the show does touch on this. In "The Beach," the conclusion he comes to as an answer to why he is angry is that he doesn't know the difference between right and wrong anymore. This is a particularly interesting revelation because it kinda leads us to ask if Zuko ever knew the difference between right and wrong, since he started out doing what was wrong. But the difference is that before, Zuko was SURE that what he was doing was right. Of course we know that Zuko does have some intrinsic ability to distinguish between right and wrong, especially when he questions the Fire Lord as a thirteen year old, but he didn't dwell on it too much because he thought the Fire Nation was right, and he HAD to believe that as a coping mechanism for his trauma. I feel like what we don't talk about enough is the inherent trauma of living in a fascist regime, and how fascist values aren't just about politics and international relations, they are rotten to the core. We see this in post-Sozin Fire Nation not just in everything with the war, but the generational rot that passes down through the Fire Nation royal family.
The fact that Zuko says he doesn't know the difference between right and wrong might look like he's backsliding, and indeed that's how I see a lot of people interpret it. But really, it's a sign that he's starting to figure things out. He's past following orders without question. He's past trying to put so much confidence in his actions that he doesn't ask questions about right and wrong. He's past dissociating as a way of coping with trauma. It's asking the questions that lead us to do the right thing.
Again, if I were writing this and I wanted to make it more clear that Zuko also has realized that saving the world is important, I would maybe show that he's realized how important the Avatar's role in the world is. I think we are meant to see that he is realizing this, but it could be more explicit. I know the assassin subplot gets a lot of criticism, and in a lot of ways rightly so, particularly the criticisms of Combustion Man as a racist caricature that has very little thought put into him. I made a post recently talking about how 9/11 influenced Avatar, and here we have a one-dimensional villain character very clearly inspired by orientalist tropes who...blows stuff up, eugh.
But I've also said that I don't think it's entirely out of character or makes Zuko irredeemable or like he's backsliding. His insecurity about it is both a sign that he's an abused kid who is terrified of what might happen should the truth come out that he didn't kill Aang, and a sign that he's trying to deal with confusing feelings about knowing what the right thing to do is. Hiring an assassin is something that I think he thinks will end those confusing feelings, but it also shows that he doesn't have the guts to try and go after Aang himself. Which is morally questionable because on one hand, if Zuko hires someone to kill Aang, he can distance himself from the act itself: it happens far away from him while he's living it up in the palace. But on the other hand it shows that Zuko himself isn't a killer. Hiring the assassin was an attempt to get rid of those confused/guilty feelings and reassure himself that he was where he was supposed to be, but to the audience it only emphasizes that he is just denying the truth that he already knows. We want to see Zuko make the right decision in the end, so showing him help rescue the gaang from Combustion Man was satisfying.
If I were writing it, I would maybe find a way to make Zuko's confused feelings and guilt more clear, and connect it to Zuko realizing that Aang's life is important for the world. You could do that very easily by inserting a three second scene of Zuko overhearing someone say something about it, maybe a general making a comment about how with the Avatar dead, nothing will stop Fire Nation expansion, while the camera closes in on Zuko's confused/guilty face. There are some times where the show does this very well, like here:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Which you might not get if you weren't familiar with Nazi imagery, but that's %100 what this is referencing. This is the scene where Zuko is announced as a hero in the Fire Nation for killing Aang. It's not explicit, but we are supposed to get that Zuko is realizing in these moments exactly what the Fire Nation is. The title of this episode is "The Awakening," and it's relevant not just to Aang's story, but Zuko's.
I also would have maybe had more scenes of him reflecting on what happened in the caves with Katara (and not just because I love zutara!) Maybe have Azula question what happened between Zuko and Katara while they were imprisoned. A question the show never answers is why Azula decided to imprison them together, and she's smart enough to have possibly put two and two together when she figures out that Zuko knows something she doesn't about the Avatar's survival. She also clearly recognized Zuko's hesitation when he had to make a decision about whose side to fight on in the caves, as she gives him a look of satisfaction when he chooses to fight against Aang. That implies that she knows there is a possibility he would have fought FOR Aang, so what is going on there? Azula would have to be curious. This would be a good opportunity for ZUKO to explore what he really felt about what happened and whose side he should be on.
Going back to your question, do I think that Zuko would have defected if he had felt love and support from his family, even knowing what the Fire Nation was doing to the world? It's a good question, and a hard one to answer. A lot of people are capable of doing bad things and supporting a bad system if they feel comfortable in their own lives. I think Zuko would have possibly still felt bad about what was going on, because he is a person with an intrinsic moral code, but been able to rationalize it to himself. I've read some interesting articles analyzing Zuko from a personality perspective, and most people type him as an INFP on the MBTI, and INFPs are idealists, but they can fall into the trap of being out of touch with reality if they focus on the wrong ideals. This is definitely Zuko as a villain.
I also think that Zuko's nightmare in "The Earth King" gives us an idea of what Zuko might have been like as Fire Lord if he had never had a redemption arc. In his dream, he sees himself on the throne, unscarred, but being pulled in two different directions. And part of his conflict here is meant to represent his current situation, but I think even if he never experienced all the things in his exile he would still be conflicted in some ways, but he would be more able to dissociate with those feelings. A Zuko who had never experienced the real world might believe he is doing things for the good, but be easily led by his councilors, his father, and his sister if he were on the throne, and I think that's part of what the dream he has is meant to show. I also believe that if Ozai ever wanted Zuko on the throne, it is as someone who could be easily controlled. I think that dream specifically is also meant to be a parallel to what we learn about the situation with King Kuei, which happens in the same episode. Zuko could very easily end up in a similar situation, as a puppet king unaware of the horrible things that were happening under his rule, complicit through ignorance or apathy.
Even though Zuko's confrontation with Ozai is about how his father personally wronged him, which makes sense since that's what Zuko would mostly talk to his father about, he does connect how he was treated to how the Fire Nation is treating the rest of the world:
Zuko: For so long, all I wanted was for you to love me, to accept me. I thought it was my honor I wanted, but really, I was just trying to please you. You, my father, who banished me just for talking out of turn. [Points a broadsword at his father.] My father, who challenged me, a thirteen-year-old boy, to an Agni Kai. [Cuts to shot of Ozai, looking angered.] How could you possibly justify a duel with a child?
Ozai: [Scornful.] It was to teach you respect!
Zuko: It was cruel! And it was wrong.
Ozai: [Angrily.] Then you have learned nothing!
Zuko: No, I've learned everything! And I've had to learn it on my own! Growing up, we were taught that the Fire Nation was the greatest civilization in history. And somehow, the War was our way of sharing our greatness with the rest of the world. What an amazing lie that was. The people of the world are terrified by the Fire Nation. They don't see our greatness. They hate us! And we deserve it! [Camera view shows top profile of Zuko and Ozai through an overhead grate.] We've created an era of fear in the world. And if we don't want the world to destroy itself [Cuts to shot of Zuko.], we need to replace it with an era of peace and kindness.
Zuko does talk about how he was personally wronged by Ozai, but then when Zuko talks about what he's learned, he only talks about the world. He's able to take his personal experiences and connect it to a greater sense of global awareness. When Zuko talks about how he believed the Fire Nation was the greatest civilization in the world and how they expected the people of the other nations to see it that way, too, but instead they are hated and feared, he could also be talking about himself, not only in his relationship to his nation but in his relationship to a father who he loved and also feared, but the fact that he doesn't focus on himself does show that he's realized that it's not just about him, that it's about the world.
The fact that Zuko is also willing to give up his relationship with Mai specifically to help the world also shows that he's realized that this isn't just about him, but I've also written about how this probably would have been more impactful if the show were able to make his relationship with Mai actually seem like something to root for, which I don't think it does a very good job of.
Zuko seeming edgy and cartoonish doesn't bother me too much because the show has always toed the line between parody and sincerity, and for the most part, they do it really well. Also, have you ever met a teenage boy? When you're a teenager, your relationship with your parents really does feel like it's on the same level as the world coming to an end. All fiction of this genre is meant to be taken as a metaphor for real life, that's why there are so many young adult stories about kid heroes who are the last hope for survival, because that's how it feels when you're a kid trying to navigate an adult world.
I do think the show would have benefitted from having Zuko interact with his own people more in a political context, especially the people on the ground rather than the nobles. But we did see enough of that in "The Painted Lady" that we, the audience, can apply it to what Zuko has learned and assume that this would be part of his education as the new Fire Lord. Still, it would have been neat to see him experience this for himself.
As for more Fire family dynamics? Sure. Most of what we know about Ozai's relationship with Zuko can be extrapolated from Ozai's relationship with Azula, which is one of the big reasons the narrative didn't have time for an Azula redemption. If there had been a fourth season of the show, I would have expected more development of Ozai as a character concurrently with a possible Azula redemption.

Just because it has to be asked, what are your thoughts on the volume 31 adds?
First of all, sorry for the late reply.
As for your question...
I posted a bit of what I thought into my Quick outline of the changes in Golden Kamuy Vol 31 but for a less image filled and more though detailed reply...
Visually, as usual, the volume is a lot better than the magazine, Noda redrew lot of parts so the visual quality rose quite a bit.
A different matter is, however the quality of the plot changes/additions.
Mind you, not always Noda makes relevant plot changes/additions in the volume version but, since the ‘train to hell’ arc was for a good part of the fandom, a particularly disappointing ones many hoped in them.
I’ve honestly didn’t really keep my hopes up because there just was too much that didn’t win me over and that too much was clearly strongly tied to the development Noda wanted the story to have... and in fact there’s really little that got changed/expanded/added and, it’s often not really relevant.
Still Noda managed to do some good things so let’s go through all the changes and see which ones to me felt good and which ones didn’t win me over and let’s skip all that it didn’t change and that, instead, could ave benefitted from changes.
I apprecciated the tiny addition explaining how Hijikata couldn’t dodge, which was why he was foced to block Koito’s sword even though one shouldn’t do it.
While Sugimoto worrying for Asirpa wasn’t a bad addition, quite the contrary, since it was all he did, felt repetitive when he does it again after the second explosion. Plus seeing the 7th wounding him further wasn’t really welcomed since I found Noda wounded him already way too much in the magazine yet let him fight Tsurumi as if he were just fine. Increasing the number of wounds really was unneeded since, in the end, they don’t matter to the plot and make it only more unbelievable.
I apprecciated how Noda showed Tsukishima broke his arm but I’m still not fond of how the grenade is tossed by accident and not by purpose so as to keep Tsukishima’s hands clean by the fact he targeted a child and killed a beloved character (this was done also when Tsuishima tried to kill Ariko but Ariko survived effortlessly because his father’s knife stopped the bullet).
I also apprecciate the idea of having Ushiyama trying to grab the bomb... but the bomb was drawn too close to the ground before Ushiyama tossed himself. It killed the suspance the fact Ushiyama din’t have a sporting chance to grab it because he would have never made in time. If the bomb had to be so low then it was more dramatic to have Ushiyama get in between it and Asirpa to save her then trying to tell me Ushiyama tried but missed.
Ushiyama’s wound on the left side of his face also partially hid his serene expression which wasn’t something I apprecciated much.
The expansion of Tsurumi’s attempt at getting Tsukishima on the roof while Tsukishima was shown too weak to follow, with Koito trying to stop him was something I liked... but I’m not sure it drived home the point Noda wanted to drive home. I mean, in it Tsurumi looks like a jerk who wants to force a seriously wounded Tsukishima to fight and support him further for Tsurumi’s interest and, by contrast, Koito comes out as someone who cares about Tsukishima. However I get the feeling Noda didn’t want Tsurumi to look like a jerk so... I don’t know. I found the scene better but what passed might not have been what Noda wanted to transmit so...
Sugimoto stabbing the bear to persuade it to let go of Shiraishi was a good addition (even though even better would have been to cut the whole biting Shiraishi scene).
Changing Tsurumi’s line so that now he only warn Ogata that Sugimoto is coming wasn’t bad.
I’ve mixed feelings on the scene of Sugimoto telling Asirpa to stay behind so she won’t get a VIP seat for hell. I might have mistranslated it, of course but the wording implies Sugimoto is aware Asirpa might kill someone and wants to try to stop her from doing so when supposedly he believed Asirpa decided long ago she wouldn’t do it... and because Noda let the scene in which Sugimoto changed his mind and told Asirpa to kill Ogata. So... it’s not it’s bad, it’s just it leaves me a little puzzled.
I’m sure there’s plenty of people who found it fun and I’m glad we’ve an explanation for why the bear decided to go on the roof but I really don’t like the idea Tsurumi’s gaze can scare a bear and persuade it to climb on a roof.
I might have mistranslated it but I saw no need for Tsurumi to talk as if he was speaking to someone else when he explained his plans.
I’m not really fond of the pat of Sugimoto punching Ogata. This is part because I’m not really that into brutality scenes (so yeah, others might love them and this is just me) but also because it feels as if Noda want to make it funny because Ogata’s fake eye just remains open and I’m not really into making fun of a man beating another. Again it might be just me. Mostly though because Noda will often forget to correct all the following images of Ogata giving him the additional bruises he gained. Also I’m not into the Sugimoto/Ogata pairing so them rolling around in a suggestive manner doesn’t tell me much but I know there’s plenty of people who ship them so I believe this will be a beloved change.
Noda definitely improved a lot the scene in which Ogata was shoot. I said it also when listing the changes but the way the volume version went at it was beyond dumb so the new page is really a great change... though the problem with Hiikata katana remains. Sugimoto attempted to grab it previously but the volume cut Ogata stepping on it to stop him and, I guess, the idea is that he didn’t because Ogata aimed at him but then he does again but... he will conveniently somehow let it go so that Ogata can use it to try to pull out the arrow tip. So yeah, lot of kudos for the improvement but the scene needed more work.
Kudos also for cutting Ogata’s sentence about something troubling him and making him not say out loud he can’t die but just think it. The first line didn’t work well and felt obscure since the problem should have been solved long ago and the fact Ogata thought he couldn’t die made it more dramatic thn saying it out loud.
Chap 310 remains a mess but Yuusaku’s apparition was much better drawn and the same goes for Ogata’s fall. Pity Noda hadn’t included an explanation for why Ogata let go of the sword (eyond that the plot needed it on the train) but kept the rifle as he fall but whatever.
Good is the addition of Tsurumi seeing Ogata falling, though I don’t get why Noda decided to obscure his face.
Interesting also how Tsurumi decided he has to go alone.
Good how Asirpa now look behind to where Ogata fell off and seems to feel guilty, even though it’s still tiny.
I’m not sure how to feel about Sugimoto’s inner speech about realizing he never watched at Asirpa as a partner and now realized she would go with him to hell. While foreshadowing Sugimoto’s decision to remain with Asirpa was ENORMOUSLY important, it takes away from Asirpa’s grief placing the focus on Sugimot and, somehow the whole idea behind the scene still didn’t sit well with me. Of course it can be that I didn’t translate the scene well and that I hate the SugiRipa so others might love it.
I loved Asirpa attempting to hit Tsurumi. I hated how previously she went along but just... aimed and never shoot even though, after what happened with Ogata, now she was supposedly capable to shoot a man.
The addition of Kikuta’s image as Sugimoto remembered him was nice and also nice was to draw Shiraishi’s eyes instead of keeping them shadowed.
The whole thing with Asirpa about to fall of the train was unclear and I’m not really fond of it, except for the part in which Asirpa tries to warn Sugimoto about Tsurumi being behind him. That one was cool.
In an effort to make the situation even more dramatic it looks as if the locomotive is the one pushing futher down in the water Sugimoto and Tsurumi... and hey, it makes it really dramatic and cool... but since it isn’t explained how THE BOTH OF THEM SURVIVED to it and to their respective potentially fatal wounds (Sugimoto has a sword through his lug and got stabbed in his stomach but at least we can hope Shiraishi fished him up, Tsurumi got a bullet through his lug but no one, as far as we know, was there to fishhim up and bring him to a doctor asap), it makes the survival even more unbelievable.
Umeko being pregnant seemed an afterthough to further push forwad his idea that Sugimoto collecting gold Umeko didn’t need was still useful because Toraji’s son won’t accept his stepfather’s inheritance should he get a stepbrother so he would need the gold to live. I mean, maybe it’s a matter of Japanese culture so for me it’s hard to connect the dots but the idea I’m expected to predict Toratarou’s actions in the future when he was hardly a character in the story feels like a stretch even if now Noda hinted he could get a stepbrother.
On the other side Umeko’s emotional reaction to hearing Sugimoto’s words was a nice addition.
The omake at the end basically making Tsurumi a noble patriot who manipulated MacArthur into stopping the Soviet Union from taking Hokkaido was something I could do without. Through GK, although Tsurumi claimed to act for the benefit of others we saw him acting mostly for his own self interest and not really merely out of patriotism. He didn’t care about others, he used them dry and we even saw it in this volume with Tsukishima. And now weìve to believe out of the blue he decided to do something nice for Japan selflessly? Why? What produced such change? Sure, since years are gone by Tsurumi could have changed into everything, really, but if Tsurumi became a new man offscreen I’m not interested. I wanted to see him becoming a new man offscreen. I’m fine with learning he lived but not with seeing him being painted as a noble patriot after he got close to cause a civil war. But whatever, Noda retconned Tsurumi’s goals through the story so yeah, maybe I’m just biased because I can’t let go the previous canon.
Plus, according to Soviet officers the reason why Hokkaido wasn’t invaded lies in the Battle of Shumshu, whcih was the only battle between the Soviets and Japanese in August–September 1945 in which Soviet casualties exceeded those of the Japanese. The Soviets suffered 1,567 casualties – 516 killed or missing and another 1,051 wounded – and the loss of five landing ships, while Japanese casualties totaled 1,018 – 256 killed and another 762 wounded.
The operation demonstrated the difficulty of amphibious invasions of enemy territory and Soviet shortfalls and inexperience in amphibious warfare.
The idea that MacArthur went against Soviet interests despite them being allied in favour of Japan doesn’t keep into consideration how the Soviet Union and the USA had poor relations despite their allegiance and the USA would definitely prefer not to help them. I mean, the Korea war takes place in 1950, when the cold war was already started, is it really surprising MacArthur would be okay stopping an eventual Soviet Union advance, especially since the USA has worked into turning Japan into an ally?
But okay, this is an alternate history but still this great mystery feels something that’s constructed solely for people who don’t know about the Battle of Shumshu and the Cold War to try to give Tsurumi a better portray after the manga has ended... which is way too late.
If Noda wanted to make Tsurumi someone noble he should have worked on it earlier, at least that’s how I feel about it.
Anyway overall most of the changes/additions were good and definitely improved the reading experience so who enjoyed the magazine version will love even more the volume one.
For me though the changes weren’t enough to make me love this arc.
They softened the blow, sure, but didn’t save the story, especially because other parts for which I would have apprecciated some changes were left as they were. But hey, that’s just me.
So, really, forthose who loved the magazine version the volume will come out as even more amazing and still kudos to Noda for improving his work. It’s really a pity I couldn’t enjoy it as much as I did in the past but... well, it happens.
And well, that’s all.
Thank you for your ask!

Idk seems like a shallow take with lots of provable arguments against it. For example, beyond who they kill and why Joker has years of canon domestic abuse, and multiple instances of sexual assault. Their relationships and histories are completely different. You could also make the joke that only one of them actually killed a Robin. They just aren't the same, at least no more than Midnighter and Joker are the same.
So I don't know if you're being full-on serious with this or just trying to start an argument. I'm going to give the benefit of the doubt and try to explain my side.
I'm fully aware that Jason and Joker have a lot of differences. Yet at the same time they have a lot of similarities as well. There's a reason why Judd Winnick emphasized their similarities in Under the Hood by giving Jason Joker's old villain identity before he became Joker. It wasn't just to get Joker's attention as Jason said, but also to show that Jason was stooping down to the Joker's level.
Is Jason a rapist? No, he kills rapists. But I'm going to say that again. Jason kills rapists. This being a Batman comic and Jason Todd and Joker being Batman characters they are lumped together in Bruce's eyes because of his idiotic Kantian philosophy of never kill no matter what. Batman is that black and white. I can go on all day about the differences between apples and oranges, you can call Jason an apple and Joker an orange, yes they are two completely different flavor profiles and colors and textures, but under the philosophy that Batman uses, they're both still fruit.
You realize how stupid that sounds right? Any sane, logical person would have killed the Joker decades ago, but because there's to be no killing under Batman's watch ever, that's not going to happen. Bruce would bring the Joker back to life just the same way that he would for Jason. Is it fair? Absolutely not, Jason has saved people's lives for Pete's sake. The Joker just sows chaos and brings misery wherever he goes. Yet at the end of the day both Joker and Jason have crossed the red line multiple times and with 0 regret. And to Batman, whom is the central figure of these comics, that is his dividing line you shall not cross.
Jason Todd is no Joker by most means, but when you think about all the shit Jason has done over the years, including the stuff that has been ret-conned, I'd argue Jason has more in common with Joker than he does with Bruce at this point. Including but not limited to.
1. Poisoned 80 prisoners to death during Dick's run as Batman.
2. Blew up a school with people inside it when Speedy wouldn't join him in his crimes in Seeing Red. It isn't explicitly said who was or wasn't inside the building but if Jason blew up a school, he's okay with killing children.
3. Has tried to kill Tim, Dick and Damian on multiple occasions (and has failed, not for a lack of him trying)
4. Goes on a mass killing spree while dressed as Batman, not caring who he kills in Battle for the Cowl (oh, this one was written by everyone's beloved Judd Winnick too btw)
5. Goes on a mass killing spree while dressed as Nightwing, not caring who he kills (this is from the same Nightwing run we get TentaTodd by the way.)
6. In an act of blind rage he kills the father of a child he just met not an hour before in Urban Legends all because low and behold, Jason has his own philosophical bullshit he follows where if you give drugs to kids bam you're dead. (I don't have the energy to argue the morals and ethics of giving your own child illegal substances on this post it's already running way too long)
7. In Final Crusade Jason actively revels in inflicting pain and suffering on villains. He kills a man by crushing his head on a car hood and hangs a person. Oh and he does all of this as Robin.
Debating the ethics and morals of Batman on Tumblr is frustrating at best and makes me want to ram my head into a brick wall at worst. I meant that post mostly as a cheap joke and a cheap meme to get cheap likes on this cheap website. I put maybe 20 minutes of effort into that meme and while I see what you're trying to prove, I'm but a silly little fool clown who says shit on a website that cost Verizon a billion dollars. I'm not going to lose sleep over constructive criticism of a character so consistently inconsistent you'll have people throwing full-blown temper tantrums anytime they depict Jason Todd any way that they don't like. I'm as shallow as a wading pool, but at the end of the day we're the ones here wearing the clown makeup arguing in our clown cars over whether apples and oranges are the more heinous comic book villains.
At the end of the day the very nature of Jason's ethics and philosophy is that some crimes are so heinous they shouldn't be forgiven. Which is objectively correct. There's no debating that. Yet because we're stuck under this Batman umbrella as because DC Comics can't decide whether they want Jason Todd to be a hero or a villain or not, we're stuck with an anti-hero with contradictory philosophies to his mentor trying to be a good guy when 80% or people who have a strong opinion about Red Hood demanding that DC comics be burned at the stake for getting his character wrong. With a sizable amount of them on their hands and knees begging for Jason to be an absolutely feral villain again who is "strong, smart, deadly, capable, fearsome." When in reality you can get all of these traits and no daddy issues right there in The Joker. If I wanted a villain who is capable and fearsome killer who strikes fear into the heart of Gotham i'd just be a Joker kinnie. Why should I even bother with Jason? Yet this is what a very vocal majority of the fandom clamors for every time we get a new Jason comic.
Again, I know you weren't trying to get a rant or a tangent and were just trying to prove a point. I have no clue who you are and I'm sorry if any of this came across as offensive. But I'm not here to try to make a bad thing worse. I made a cheap meme for cheap likes, please try not to think too hard about it. It's more fun that way.

Other important persons: Taimi (NPC). Taimi and Vivs met at the first time when Taimi was only 13 years old. Vividatt was 20. Vividatt noticed similarities with his progeny-hood girlfriend that died 13 years ago, and her, but didn’t ponder it that much. Taimi had heard of Vividatt from her mentor, that was also Vividatt’s mentor in the past, and when she saw Vividatt couldn’t help but feel like she had seen him somewhere before. Later they discovered that Taimi was a reincarnation of the then died progeny-hood girlfriend, Palitta. Taimi through years became, again, Vivs’ love interest.  Aurene (NPC). She was first supposed to be, as an egg, protected by Caithe, but ended up choosing Vividatt as her protector and guardian. Caithe was still present, and together they both protected Aurene, till she was old enough to take care of herself. But since Caithe and Vividatt both felt the connection with her, and had raised her since she hatched, they consider this huge nowadays an Elder Dragon to be their beloved daughter, and they were the proud parents.
Relationships with other characters of the story:
Kexitonn: He acts as this supportive friend, who has actually developed feelings for Vivs. But because he wants to have biological family, he suppresses them. Though this does not stop them from being friends with benefits.
Billyuz: Is Kexitonn’s assistant, and a rival of Vivs’ in a way, that these two are constantly comparing their sexual experiment with females. Billy is like Vivs, but less responsible and loves practical jokes. He’s also hetero.
Braham (NPC): Braham is usually pulling Vivs into situations that demand action, whenever he gets frustrated with the slow progress of a war. Even if he at one time started to blame Vivs of all his problems, Vivs instead of taking the role of a victim, patiently waited him to finally get over the anger that his mother’s death caused him.
Rytlock (NPC): Charr viewing tender emotions usually as weakness, since they usually are very impractical in a war, ever since Vivs met Rytlock, Rytlock has learned that it’s fine at times show a bit of affection, and Vivs has learned that it’s alright to let out this animal -like rage in a fight out. You can be intelligent and a maniac at the same time.
Kas & Jory (NPCs): Kasmeer Maede and Marjory DelAqua are a couple, and they are complete opposites of each other. Marjory is a necromancer, the profession that represents about the harsh truth about life: you will eventually die. And Kasmeer being a mesmer, that represents the illusional side of life, where you can fake even your age by manipulating your own appearance. Even if these two are all about each other, Vivs can’t help but flirt with both of them once in a while. They don’t seem to mind, which shows that they have a full trust on each other. They are flirty jokes, after all. These two have thought Vivs to have courage to be just who he is. Despite whom you are related to, you are you, no matter what. Coming from the society of people admiring a lot of intelligence, Vivs dares to show his less intelligent side more freely, which him just being a bit of a goof.
Physical Characteristics:
Addictions: Sexual activities, were they mental or physical.
Bad Habits: Being silly. Sleeping around. Drinking and using drugs whenever he is very upset or partying. Sadomasochistic traits. Loves sexually teasing sensitive people.
Color of Eyes: Used to be green, but after being exposed to bloodstone’s chaotic magic, turned red.
The color of Hair: Was black originally, but due to exposer to different magical powers has changed from black to teal, from teal to magenta, and finally white.
The color of Skin: Pale Greenish grey. It was bluish grey, while he was a reaper, but after that it became back to greenish grey. At the time he was at Elona he got tanned, but then when he went to the cold areas to do his job, his skin went back to pale greenish grey.
Dialect: None, really, but being an asura, he still has that certain mannerism in the way he talks, which makes him sound intelligent.
Does the character drink regularly? When he’s depressed or partying.
Does the character have any disabilities? Split personality disorder.
Does the character prefer any proverbs? Great minds think alike.
Does the character smoke? No
Good Habits: Helps people. Takes in consideration people’s feelings.
Height: Mid height.
Hobbies: Reading. Singing/growling. Working out. Learning about people’s sexualities. Sexual activities. Writing lyrics.
Is he/she wearing Glasses? No
Is the character healthy or does he have any diseases? He is currently in a state where he should not be able to stay alive: which means his heart beats less actively than most people’s. Making his whole-body work slower, and yet, he can move and think in the same way as before. He has partly frozen his body to stop it from starting to rot.
Type of Face: Oval
Weight: From asura standards: a bit to the heavier side. Overall: light.
What’s the style of the character? (modern, outmoded): Gothic/edgelord/casual ninja
Mental Characteristics
Education: Splorg Metamystics Lab, College of Synergetics
Intelligent or not? Yes
Fears: Being a huge disappointment to his friends. Heights. The psycho side taking a complete control over his mind.
Life Goals (next 5 years): Becoming the Master Sex Educator. (This is after the Aurene Circle had begun)
Life Goals (next 25 years): Keep Tyria a safe place with his friends.
Self-perception: Someone who accidentally got caught in the Elder Dragon war, who with friends and luck managed to defeat the corruption. Who gets too much credit of what he had done. He’s strong only thanks to his armor/weapon designers and people that fight for the same cause. His other mind thinks he’s the best of all.
Assumed external perception: A good enough friend. The other mind: still the best of all.
Self-Confidence: For someone who suffers from depression, he is still able to momentarily have trust on his own skills, but usually comes from annoyance and frustration (as well as not caring if he dies) towards his enemies as well as strong need to keep his friends alive (especially Taimi). While he fights, though, he lets his psycho side take over enough to be able to have this uncaring strength to kill whoever is opposing him. So, you could say he has enough confidence in himself. And more experience he gets, more confidence you get.
Rational Or Emotional: Leans more to the rational, but from asura standards may be accused of being emotional. Vivs nowadays does not see anything wrong with this.
How could you upset this character? By making him believe that he’s just a burden to his friends. Or killing one of his friends, though wouldn’t anyone?
Emotional Characteristics
What are emotional strengths of the character? He pretty much falls in love with everyone.
What are emotional weaknesses of the character? Guilt that his psycho side causes.
Is the character an introvert or an extrovert? He’s an introvert, but because he has a LOT of stamina, he is able to spend long times with people.
How does the character cope with fury and rage? Vivs has struggled to keep his psycho side in check years now, so that also means good control over his anger. But there are times when his psycho side manages to get through and it shows in rude way of talking and threats. And then may escalate to trying to destroy the one who had caused it. It also can show as intense silent staring.
… with unhappiness? He tries to keep his mind busy with his hobbies. If the unhappiness is overwhelming, he tends to drown it with drugs or alcohol.
… with rivalry? Vivs is pretty competitive but winning isn’t necessarily the most important thing to him. Unless it is about life and death. In Billy’s case, since Billyuz tends to prank people, he at times goes too far with them, and since Vivs is the one who has to clean up Billy’s messes often, since he is the principal of their guild school, and Bill is supposed to be a teacher, Vivs’ patience with him is already at its limit and so he seeks to punish him in BDSM style. Here again, it’s a mesmer vs. necromancer thing.
… with new situations? Takes them as opportunities to learn something new.
… with trouble? Vivs likes to keep his mind busy, so to him trouble solving is something interesting to do.
What’s his meaning of life? To try to keep a balance.
What would the character like to change in his/her life? He’s constant need to relief himself sexually to want.
What things motivate the character? His friends.
What situations scares the character? Where he has to choose between two important people’s lives.
What makes this character happy? When he feels accepted as he is. With flaws and everything.
Is the character often biased? No. But when it comes to the Inquest, yes, he tends to be. He was a bit annoyed when he heard that Taimi’s old school friends had chosen the Inquest as their ‘college’, but didn’t say anything, but was wondering that what if they happened to be at those Inquest labs he often used as relief to his urges to destroy... They would have been violated in the most heinous ways. Taimi probably would have never forgiven him that. After that, Vivs has witnessed some Inquestians do something for the greater good, but he still won’t change his habit of attacking Inquest labs. Especially those known of doing horrible things to people and animals.
Does the character prefer to give or to take? His loving side gives. His psycho side takes.
Is the character rather nice or rude? His loving side is nice, and his psycho side is rude.

Yes!!! The Lemay song was for Romain, as were most of my hints btw (gaynor, ghosts, etc...) 💔 Fun fact, I had actually forgotten that Morgane re-enacted Titanic on the boat (and incidentally explicitly asked Karadec to hug her mhhhhh 👀👀), I just hinted at Titanic because there was a boat involved in the ep, I giggled SO HARD when I rewatched that scene last night 😂😂
And 1,000% agreed, poor Théa, she deserved so much better, and I actually have already written several scenes about her in an upcoming fic because SERIOUSLY some fixing needs to be done 😭😭😭
The logistics of Romain's disappearance and the resulting absurd plot made zero fucking sense, I think this discussion deserves a post in itself because honestly y'a rien qui va 😱😱😱
And awww, Gilles my beloved, the therapy conversation had me IN TEARS, he is such a precious inappropriately helpful bean (see also: he's right) 😍😍
Gotta love how committed you are to getting hugs out of this show, I commend your dedication 😂 (Food for thought: when they hopefully backtrack in S3, they’ll surely be very wary of touch… Until a near-death experience, probably, that will lead to The Most Emotional Hug You've Ever Seen. Il n'est pas interdit d'espérer... characters hugging > characters kissing)

I’m not saying I watch HPI for a thrilling mystery-of-the-week, but c’mon, the audience has standards 😆 If I may try to Fix That Plot:
In 2005, Romain borrows 50 grand from Mafioso and enlists Serge’s help to make bank (btw: le gars veut une vie simple mais trempe avec la pègre pour s’acheter une baraque à La Rochelle ? Since when does organized crime, like, save the turtles and stuff? Elles sont où tes valeurs Romain ???). Dirty Cop figures it out, robs Romain and leaves him for dead. Serge, qui sent que ça se gâte, takes Romain to le vil Facchin who saves his life and helps with the whole fake-body thing. Romain leaves for the UK, etc. Facchin decides to blackmail Dirty Cop for his troubles, ex. "Give me half the money or I tell everyone you killed that guy" (he could claim there was DNA under fake-Romain's fingernails and ask for his share in exchange for his silence). To clear his conscience, Facchin sends some money to Romain every month. 15 years later (did you notice how they insisted on that, rather than dates, so they wouldn’t have to age Théa up 😂), Facchin fait l’objet d’une enquête, puis Dirty Cop est interrogé à son tour (maybe he was seen near the casino around Romain's assumed time of death?). Uh-oh, ça sent le roussi pour les ripoux ! Dirty Cop threatens Facchin to take him down with him if he doesn't kill Roxane ("she dragged your name in the mud anyway, so it’ll be two birds with one stone"). Facchin shoots Roxane (and maybe he misses intentionally), Dirty Cop stages Facchin’s suicide (suffisamment mal pour que Morgane flaire l’embrouille). When Morgane investigates Mafioso, he figures out Dirty Cop has something to do with Romain and the money, and abducts him. Ta-da! Now all that's left is to save Dirty Cop and follow Facchin's money to the UK. Note: Romain never called because he was afraid of repercussions he’s a dick, and Serge never said a word about it because he was afraid of repercussions he’s a dick too. (Not to 🎶 generalize about men 🎵, but most of them were sucky in this episode. Ils n'ont qu’à en mettre moins dans l’intrigue 😆)
Tumblr media
(that's me rn. remember when I said ranting was half the fun of watching a show? that's what I meant)
All this to say, I think it could've made more sense, even if they'd kept the same number of characters and victims. BREF.
Agreed that Gilles is Most Right and Should say it, but also read the room first, because his timing is horrid 😂
Maybe it would benefit Théa too... She sorely needs your fix-it, at least!
